I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the Valley of Waves at Sun City and happily give it five stars. The atmosphere is vibrant and relaxing, with a perfect mix of fun, excitement, and a tropical beach feel right in the heart of the resort. The wave pool is absolutely thrilling and makes you feel like you’re by the ocean, while the slides and rides cater for both adrenaline seekers and families. The area is clean, well-maintained, and surrounded by stunning scenery, which makes it a great spot to spend the whole day. Service and facilities were excellent, adding to the overall experience. A must-visit for anyone going to Sun City!

This place is nice and beautifully. You can enjoy the place with kids and family. At Valley of waves you can do a lot of aqua activities such as sliding, tube, lazy river🤗 You can have your snacks. You must go early so you can enjoy until 5pm. I recommend.

From entering Sun City resort we've experienced a warm and kind welcome. Preparing our own food at our unit at the vacation club to going to the valley of the waves, walking through the maze and reach the roof bar with spectacular views and enjoying a lovely sundowner, to playing ten pin bowling and just chilling at the Gary Player Golf club restaurant and enjoying a coffee with blue crane 396 come flipping its wings right in front of us, it was a very memorable time with family and friends here. Most definitely one of my wow moments here. Thank you to all the friendly staff amd to all the bus drivers that took us to and fro and never complaining to drive the same route day in and out. You do deserve an extra star for keeping the good work up.

This place is incredible! Beautifully set up with a real tropical holiday vibe — palm trees, sandy beach, and those amazing waves in the Roaring Lagoon! The slides and lazy river keep the kids busy for hours, while adults can relax and enjoy the atmosphere. A fantastic family day out. Highly recommended!

Valley of Waves was breath taking, as a first timer. The Security and Lifeguards all very friendly and polite. My kids had a blast in the water and sun. It’s very clean and the water is very clean as well. My kids enjoyed the super tubes the line wasn’t long when we were there. Thank you, Vally of Waves, for the experience.

Had my mom's birthday at the Valley of the Waves. The whole family loved the experience and we will carry the memories for a lifetime. It did rain but we were able to wait it out by dining in the EC areas.

In order to gamble here you have to sign up to the MVG programme in which they give you a physical card to put into their machines before you can gamble. You can’t just use cash like normal casinos. When we got there we were told you stand in a queue where one person was registering one person at a time. It requires your passport and a full application to be filled out. We stood for about 20 minutes for only two people to be signed up and there was another 4 in front of us So we walked out instead. We triple checked with other staff too, there was no other way to gamble otherwise. It’s a weird way to encourage people to come and spend money at the casino when they make it so difficult to do so. Very poor.

To be honest - it has zero athmosphere and class and there are only a couple of tables which are not slot Machines. Personnel is unfriendly and it Is really not a spot to be at.

I am not certain why, but there was no working aircon in the casino when I was here on 7-9 February 2025 when it was 34 degrees outside! The smoking area was the worst! We could hardly breathe there. It was SO hot and there was nowhere for all the smoke to go. It was very poorly ventilated. It was very unpleasant on the casino floor becauss it was so hot....😧

The maze is a really underrated part of Sun City. It’s built extremely well and poses a real challenge! You should expect to take at least 20 minutes to get through it. However, it’s very rewarding to get to the end and get your complimentary drinks. If you sit upstairs at the bar, there is a fantastic view across Sun City and of the Palace. Definitely recommend!

This was really a fun activity. We were actually lost in the maze at first, but we found our way after the second attempt 🤣. It was so much fun that we will definitely do it again!

Great activity for the entire family. If you get overwhelmed and can't find your way out there is a quick exit. The bar at the end of the maze is a great reward. The bar offers a wide variety of beers, the beer tasting is a good option. Will recommend that this activity be done early morning or later afternoon as there is no shade in the maze itself.

Had a lot of fun in the maze. It's amazing how you can laugh with strangers in there. Afterwards, we cheated and chose the quick route to finish the maze, too frustrating trying to find the right way. At the end of the maze was beer tasting. Great view of Sun City from there. I can imagine this could be a good venue for special occasions done the seating areas are covered.

Although the are many benefits to going to Sun City when it's off peak. The maze would have been more fun had there been more people around. The bar was empty but definitely with the right crowd could have been amazing. Beautiful view from above the bar. The beer tasting at the end of the maze was a lovely treat.

Give it a skip. Nothing interesting to be honest. To begin with there’s a wooden see through bridge that you need to cross to reach the entrance of the maze. Secondly the maze is located on the top of the hill so you need to walk some steep slopes and once you reach the spot... all you want is some good adventure. But it disappoints. The maze is not that confusing put it simply. You have to get yourself lost and that’s how you feel some excitement. At the end there’s a restaurant which again is not the exit. The entrance and exit are at the same place. Not worth it in my view

I bit Pricey just to go walk in a maze that only took 3 mins to get through. Then having to pay R50 for a beer at the end.

As always this place is spectacular, after huge amounts of rain the course was immaculate, albeit very challenging. We played both golf courses but Gary Player Country Club remains one of my favorite courses and had the privilege of playing a few holes with the legend himself, Gary Player...almost 90 years old but still as fit as ever.

Probably the toughest course I’ve ever played but enjoyed every moment of it. My caddy, Budha was amazing as he knew the ins and outs of the course whilst being a legendary ball finder, being able to find my ball in the thick rough. The course provides a plethora of shot types to play whilst also having lots of risk management. The scenery of the lake was also beautiful alongside the high hills. There were also a lot of local flora and fauna making this not only fun to play, but fun to relax in the scenery.

It was the best experience playing where the greatest golfers walked. It was humbling walking over all the names on the 9th hole and playing and putting where they won big money.

Great course, world class. Green fees are good especially for MVG's and include a very nice lunch. Tough course but fun. No carts allowed but very good caddies.

Decided to have breakfast at the country club restaurant. Ordered eggs bacon tomato and toast. The food was decent but the view was spectacular. The monkeys decided they also wanted our breakfast so beware. They’re not shy to steal right off your plate. Well priced and a lovely experience.

A very challenging but absolutely stunning and beautiful course. Highly recommended to get out and enjoy a world class golf course where the wildlife are at home to roam around. The views are spectacular and each hole is carefully carved out of the beautiful landscape. I recommend taking some extra balls and a caddie who can assist in finding some those stray tee shots.

Very very very beautiful course with a distinct lost city theme. The holes were challenging and if we didn’t have the caddies, we wouldn’t have known how to play them. Also, be on the lookout for some crocodiles on hole 13 as it’s a sight to see!

Very nice course... Areas of improvement in my humble opinion is the staff is a little bit rude. The pro shop has very limited memorabilia. The food is average. Location, scenery and course conditions deserves a 5 star but your employees is leyting you down

Great golf course . One definitely need to play Gary Player and Lost City if you visit Sun City.

Championship golf course, my daughter played in the Nomads SA Girls Rosebowl Champs 2024. Lots of tricky holes, bunkers and water features which make the course very beautiful indeed. I walked the full 18 holes with her and experienced some awesome views of the mountains and surrounding nature. Pro shop can at least employ another person to work there instead of just 1. Staff overall very helpful and friendly

Me and my friend took a walk to the golf course clubhouse for coffee. I don’t play golf but the layout of the course looked structured. Given that it’s winter the club has done a good job maintaining quality of the greens, which looked good. I really enjoyed my coffee and the blueberry sauce was just amazing.

We went the Saturday evening for supper, what and experience. I am a vegan vegetarian, at least i was able to eat chips. Decor is beautiful, a must visit when at sun city.

Fliping awesome! Pick some music on the jukebox and have a drink. The only problem is that the food is extremely expensive, so I wouldn't eat there again.

Segaetso village dancers are amazing. The treatment there deserves a five star and the place is beautiful, it gives you the village experience and the authenticity of Setswana culture. Also like the beauty craft pieces they have.

You shouldn't miss a trip to the Shebeen ...just sad they closed too early

Nice venue for concerts and events. Very big and spacious. Just one challenge the chair numbers are not user friendly, written on one side. The steps on the orange side are so steep they and almost dangerous.

Cute little mall in Sun City. This is where shops, cinemas and restaurants are. A walk through is mandatory, if you want to get to the Valley of the Waves. It's a nice welcome for anyone visiting the Valley of the Waves for the first time.

As a regular to sun city I found it disappointing to see they no longer have the animals within the train ride... no more meerkat and no more bokies .... only a 2 lap train ride amongst reeds.. pitty....

The high tea at crystal court is beautiful and such a treat. The staff are attentive and pleasant. I mentioned to one of the ladies that we came to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and they came singing with a slice of cake and a candle without me asking. This was such a personal and touching gesture. If you're in the area do treat yourself to a little piece of heaven

Everything was buffet style There wasn’t any bao buns. The rare beef was on a stale sweet macaron that was too hard to bite into. The sandwiches were dry, unappealing and there weren’t any crepes. There weren’t any tempura, cheesecakes or chocolate cakes. The Victorian sponge had fruit flies all over the strawberries. There were red velvet cupcakes AND a red velvet cake, I assume they were of the same batter to compensate for the other missing items. There weren’t any labels on the food if we had food allergies or restrictions. Nobody explained to us the process upon arrival. The waiter said when we get up to go get our second course scones, then only will she bring us teas. When I asked for water and then later on milk, both times the waiter screams over to the other waiter in another language to bring it over. Not asking still or sparkling water or full or low fat milk The waiter asked if we done and can she bring the bill at 16:30, we hadn’t had our 3rd course yet.. Would not recommend, highly disappointed

The tea selection at high tea was very disappointing. I expected more from the palace. Cakes and pastries on the other hand were divine with plenty of options to choose from

After having breakfast at the Crystal Court restaurant, located in The Palace of The Lost City hotel, I have no other way of describing my experience than "opulent". The breakfast is served buffet style, with some items prepared on request, and almost everything thing you could think of was available. The selection is massive and all items are fresh and tasty. There are seating options inside and outside, but we opted to sit outside as you have a lovely view of the beautiful garden and waterfall areas. The staff are also very friendly. As we stayed at The Palace our breakfast was included, but even if you aren't staying there it is worth a try, you won't be disappointed. Just careful for the birds - if you leave your plate unattended they'll be sure to grab something while you're not looking.

High tea at the palace- the staff were tremendously accommodating! Betty and her fellow co workers really made my wife's day! We were thrilled by the pianist playing absolutely beautiful! We had a pleasant experience at their bowling alley. Reasonably priced. Attendants were pleasant as well. If you don't have sneakers on you can either bowl with socks or Barefoot. Atmosphere was pleasant.

To be honest - they have a lot to offer and the games are modern. They also offering bowling and overall it’s a nice place to be with the little kids. However - the prices should be a little better than coming from the China Mall.

Not what I was use to. But this company has definitely delivered the Magic. Some games that I only saw here. We had managed to win a few items that we will cherish. There were a few issues with the machines but there always seemed to be technicians there to help. I easily blew threw money so beware. It is R2 a coin. Also double check the ticket counter is accurate. There could be better gifts. It was also unfortunate that curfew resulted in early closing time. The horse race was my highlight. Best to play with others. I do wish I could went everyday. It was worth it for me as an adult who felt like a kid again.

This is a very nice Magic Company. Some of the friendliest and helpful employees. It is huge, spacious and has a variety and many games. The ten pin bowling was our highlight this week at the Magic Company. The staff are on the ball and super helpful. We also enjoyed the horse-racing game. We noticed when the tickets in a machine were finished, there was an alarm that alerted the employee on duty. We didn't have to call for assistance or explain the problem. They just came through and knew what to do.

We came to suncity this afternoon and in the evening at 10pm we went to play games. We wanted to do bowling at 22:20 and was told it was closed On the website it says they close at 23:00 and on the board it says 24:00 That's disappointing as we only around for the weekend with minimal to do with the kids This was not a great experience

It is situated in the main complex between the Valley of Waves and the Cascades Hotel. There are mostly machines that gives tickets and some other arcade games. The tokens is R2 each and most machines takes 2,3 or 4 tokens.

The games arcade consist mainly of game machines where the kids wins tickets that they can exchange for items. The tokens is R2 per token and most machines takes 2 or 3. There are also arcade type games for the older kids.

This is now the second time in three months I’ve walked out of Legends Statehouse thinking, “what a dump.” For a place that calls itself a steakhouse, they still don’t have steak knives - a basic essential. Our entire table ordered ribeyes medium rare at a premium price, and not a single one was cooked correctly. Several steaks were sent back, some more than once, and even after that, they couldn’t get it right. It’s shocking how little care goes into execution and customer experience. After giving them a second chance, I can confidently say there won’t be a third. Hugely disappointing.

Do not eat steak here unless you want to fight with it! Sent ours back to the kitchen because we had to fight with it, it was so tough. Be safe and order the fillet as it was much better than the other cuts. Also they do not give steak knives to cut your steak, your have to struggle with something slightly sharper than a bread knife. The lamb shank was nice and fall of the bone tender. Was the one tasty dish of the night. So that was supper. The breakfast here are not bad at all and would gladly eat breakfast there again. Just nothing else.

After a day at Valley of Waves with my niece and nephew from China we were looking for and excellent meal and some good wine to end off the evening. We tried Legends at the Sun City Hotel and were very impressed. The food was really good, the waitress was attentive and the atmosphere was fantastic. My nephew had the T bone steak which was cooked to perfection. My niece had the lamb chops which were just a tiny hit tough but tasty none the less. I had the oxtail and mash which was very good although the darkened meat would suggest that it had been re cooked . Overall was so impressed that we went back a second night and it was equally good. I read the reviews afterwards and was surprised at the 3.7 rating out of 5 and the complaints of tough steak. It certainly wasn't our experience. Perhaps they have new owners ( not sure) or they have just improved and upped their game. We will certainly return here. The place was full on both nights ( Sat and Sunday) which is always a recommendation. Finally Sun City has a decent steak house. Squires Loft was a dump!

Even with delicious sauce, the stake is as hard as rock. Chips may be pre-made long time before serving. No crunch and hard to chew.

Good food and entertainment. Well worth it. We had a lovely time. I would just advise them to keep a standard cocktail menu and ensure all bar staff are equally skilled in making them.

I came here for dinner and had a good time. I would give the restaurant itself a 2 but because of the service and Clint - the performer - I really enjoyed the night so I'll go with a 3. We started with some wine and then had the Pan-Fried Calamari and Prawn and it was unfortunately very underwhelming. The prawns were ok but the starter didn't exactly come as described because there wasn't any chorizo, no butter bean mash, but instead had a sad side salad. For a main we shared the Lamb Shank and it was really good. The lamb literally fell off the bone but I felt like it was lacking a bit in flavor. The vegetables were really good though, they weren't too mushy. For dessert we had the Cheesecake (I'm not sure it was on the menu but it was recommended to us). The cheesecake wasn't the best either, not creamy at all but was instead crumbly. Despite the subpar meal, the service was good and Clint was such a nice guy! Clint had come around at the end of the night and was super nice and sociable. I wouldn't come back for the food but I would definitely come back for the entertainment!

I really have mixed feelings… definitely not a place to go if you want veg variety but if you a meat lover you will be delighted. Service was good, despite the lack of option the veg food was ok

Was on a break at SunCity for a few days and decided to celebrate a birthday at this venue. It was great and would recommend any one in the Sun City area should give it a visit.

This is an absolute must visit when you’re at SunCity. The atmosphere and vibe is fantastic! With an incredible mix of people and perfect for diners of all ages. They have a small jungle gym and jumping castle for kids. I absolutely love the amalgamation of cultures at Bosveld Shebeen. It has a jukebox, fireplace and pool tables. The drinks specials were fantastic and the food looked absolutely amazing, although we only came for drinks. But I would definitely recommend coming here for lunch or dinner or as the food looks amazing and the portions are definitely value for money. I think this is an amazing addition to SunCity and I cannot wait to be back!

10/10 great experience all round. Friendly staff, great deals and surprisingly very very delicious food. We ordered chicken burgers, it's a shame I was so hungry that I didn't take a picture of the burger. Even the bun was perfect.

Good food. Good quality. Always fresh and always hot food. The service is friendly as well but they can be slow. They have drink specials as well and a carwash right there as well for practicality. They have 2x pool tables for entertainment. Inside and outside seating available. In winter they have bonfires and heaters. Sometimes theres live music as well.

Decent food. Beers and ciders served in 660 bottles (quarts) as well. Housekeeping can improve as there was a lot of litter on the floor when we got there at 3 pm on a quiet Sunday afternoon..started cleaning only half an hour after that. Service was a bit slow even though it was quiet. I went up to the barman, who eventually came and took our orders and served us. Visit if you are at Sun City.

Very pleasant. Accommodation is of a high standard and very well serviced by a large complement of very friendly staff. I am sure the landscape could have been used a bit better in layout to have better views than the back of the building in front of you. Can get a bit rowdy in parts during early evening. Nothing to warrant a complaint though, just lots of loud people having a great time which is always a better noise.

The reception and check in was quick and easy. All staff interactions were helpful with positive attitudes. Housekeeping services were excellent. A change in pillow and creaking door was resolved without delay. Great value for money, thank you for a wonderful stay

I had a wonderful stay! The house was beautiful, luxurious, and very well-furnished. Everything was clean, with more than enough space to feel comfortable. The shuttle services were punctual and reliable, and any requests I had were attended to very quickly. The view from the property was stunning, and the staff were always warm, welcoming, and extremely friendly. Overall, an excellent experience that I would highly recommend!

Sun City Vacay Club! Just wow. The service, cleanliness of the gardens, friendly staff, the way this resort is run is actually quite amazing. A great experience all 'round. What a wonderful getaway.

Units interior are exceptionally well designed.Check in was smooth,however no assistance to the units,too many stairs to get to some units, with luggage it comes a challenge and can create falls and injuries,which did happen in our case.A little help to the units would make a big difference.Complimentary coffee and tea sachets in the units would have been awesome 👌

I have owned a few time share weeks at the vacation club and still do. About twice a year we stay at the Reserve 3 bedroom and it’s always the most unpleasant stay due to maintenance issues. Toilets are blocked, shower blocked and overflowing. Not able to bath our baby in the bath due to water keep running out of the bath. Basins leaking and flooding the floors.

We had one wonderfull week at the Aviary . Wonderfull place to stay at , friendly staff , rooms well kept , just about all we expected from our holiday . All other facilities have helping and friendly staff . There is no way that i wont go back there . simply love the treatment i received and would reccommend any one to go and experience , its worth your money .

A pleasant place to visit with a fair amount of clothing and novelties variety. Expect tourist prices, though, and for some reason, all refunds, even those where something ends up ill-fitting, have to go through head office, so not possible on the spot. An understandable but somewhat unfortunate policy, so shoppers should be 100% sure of their purchases.

Nice simple cafe, activities center next to a scenic lake. Lovely walk to the cascades hotel from the back / pool side.

Great scenery. The Corona cabana's were a nice touch. Although our waiter was friendly they mixed our drink order. At first we ordered 3 tequila's and asked for 'orange slices'. It was taking long, so we asked our waiter where is it? She said they are still making our 'Tequila Sunrise'. We corrected her. Still taking long we decided to go to the bar to see what's going on. Eventually we got a senior waiter to assist. We proceeded to further order 3x double vodka with lemonade. Had our shots of tequila. Paid. Whilst walking away and shocked at our bill, we then noticed they charged us for 3x double tequila shots (6 shots in total). We went back to complain. They were taking so long we eventually just said give us the extra 3 shots. Not the type of experience one would assume to have in a setup like Royal Baths. Retrain your staff! Great place when you absolutely want to relax and have a break. Service is fantastic. You get the palace experience all the way through to the comfortable pool loungers & warm fluffy towels. The massage is amazing- actually better than the palace without the palace price. The food from the brew monkey is also delicious.

Really enjoyable, with a revamp to restore the original settup (gas fire pits on the royal staircase, and swimming in the lake adjacent to the baths) I would give it 5. Evidence (our waiter was great though).

Very nice place to relax during the day! We spent most of our 2 night stay in this area and found it very easy to relax here! Be careful of the views though as it is a clothing optional area. You also have to be over 21 to enter and they occasionally ask for identification.

Great guides. Wonderful experience. Please, just make sure you follow the safety instructions. Very easy to ride but the thrill may come with temptations to try out things, which is when things can quickly turn ugly. Otherwise, this is worth every minute of it.

The Segway tour is an amazing experience, it's available in the Sun City resort. The instuctors were very helpful with teaching and guiding us on how to use the segway. After the onboarding session, you will take a tour around to enjoy the breeze and natural environment. Don't be like me😝, I was using my phone on the segway which is extremely risky, but it was fun all the way. You should try it too!, but follow the safety guidelines.

Absolutely amazing, so much fun this was the highlight of my visit. The staff was Absolutely outstanding, my daughter was very nervous but OT (I think that was his name) was very patient with her. Would definitely recommend 👌

Segwaying is probably one of the funnest and things to do in sun-city, the tour is really breathtaking experience.

I was scared out of my wits having never doing this. Calmed me down, showed me the ropes and made us feel safe and informed. Guides need a golden star and a raise!! Amazing guys! Thank you

Overpriced. Zip line's were fun. Not Recomended for young children 10yrs and under especially if they are scared of heights. Parents don't force your kids to do this! Had to wait long at each point for child infront of us to be ready to do the obstacle. Should take 30min to complete, we spent more than an hour.... I won't bother next time.

I loved visiting this sanctuary. The staff was so friendly. Ask for a tour guide and they will tell you many interesting facts. You are very close to the crocidles and will see over 100!!! The feeding time is at 4:30 pm. They will show you how the crocidles hunt for food and how they jump out of water !! Definitely stop by here !!

Value for money experience, with friendly and informative staff to guide and teach about the crocodile life. You will get to see the feeding, the young ones and the oldest which is 93 years old today. Learn about their movements, speed in and out of the water and how long can they survive without food in and out of the water.

Before get inside Sun City, we should spend a little bit of time, visiting the Crocodile Sanctuary. We’ll be able to see from the big ones thru the very small. You can even ask to pick one of the little. Ask for Arnold, the oldest and biggest crocodile there.

Please make sure to be there at feeding time. You will learn a lot and see a great personal tour. Please also tip for the great work. :)

They made us feel safe and comfortable throughout the entire adventure. The breathtaking views combined with the exceptional service made this outing truly memorable. Epic views. Super long. Super fast. Super safe (as far as I can tell). Great service. Would be back any day. Done a dozen zip lines or more and this is THE BEST!!!

Fun, exiting and thrilling! Beautiful views of the resort. Our instructor was very friendly and reassuring. She was also very funny and made sure that anyone who was feeling afraid felt comfortable. At the end of the ride you also get an extra bonus! You can buy beautiful African wood or stone sculptured surveniers like a lion/elephant/rhino etc for half the price you'd pay at the resort. The seller is also the art worker himself so you know you support locals directly. They also sell some drinks while you wait for others to arrive.

I was just a spectator for this one but four of the boys in our party gave it a bash. They all turned a whiter shade of pale when we got to the top of the hill where the zipline starts and I really thought they would chicken out but once the transport leaves to take the spectators to the bottom it's the only way down. When they got to the bottom after screaming like babies they all wanted to go again 😂. Each of them said it was the best experience ever. I was a bit shocked at being charged R100 as a spectator but afterwards I realised why. We were transported to the top of the hill to drop the "fliers" then all the way to the bottom which is out of the resort gate and a little way along the main road and then back to the pick up point at the welcome center which means that you take up a space which could be used by someone paying the full price. It was well worth it though.

Their food is good, while some of it isn’t the best. Their bacon and mince is good, I’m not a huge fan of streaky bacon, so I chose back bacon. The sausages (chicken) have a weird taste, like window cleaner or something like a chemical cleaner…their omelettes are nice, but I don’t quite enjoy them as even adding salt, doesn’t enhance the flavour. You should go for their sweet treats though. Service is kind and sweet, chef was also really helpful. There is often a long line so be braced! Warm and calming ambience.

The breakfast buffet was really enjoyable. it is a task to share with some guests. Be aware what is vegetarian even if you are not so to not spoil it for others. The area was kept clean and I didn't have to wait in a line to enter. The system is quite laborious to maintain. Lot of services rely on the staff o please be patient as they are juggling even when 50% full. Try the cappuccino or hot chocolate from the special coffee station (request from staff). The pepper and salt do need to be refilled daily. The pianist was superb. The omelette station was well manned. As far as Halal goes, don't listen to halal friendly talk they have some improvements to complete prior. There is contamination so I would suggest full vegetarian which is very enjoyable. This said the staff did try to help as far as they could well done to them and for all the hard work they put in. Do feel management need look at improving the system to help the staff.

Staff at entrance taking your room number are friendly. The rest of the staff are not welcoming at all. Instead of waiting on guests, they stand around doing nothing. No coffee/tea offered at morning breakfast. Egg station chef could learn how to smile. Meals are mediocre and not tasty.

The Peninsula is the breakfast buffet for residents at the 5 star Cascades hotel. I can't say this buffet is worthy, however. It is small and i noticed a long queue to enter as i was leaving on a Saturday morning. On the same saturday, they ran out of plates (yes, really). Due it being small and so busy, you have to wait at the stations; i didn't even bother trying to get my bread toasted. There is a lovely lake and fountain outside, however you will get wet if you make use of the outside seating; we were getting sprayed while sitting inside (we were close to the door, to be fair). There is a good selection of foods, though. There was also a pianist on both mornings that i was there.

We stayed at the Buffalo section of The Reserve in a newly renovated unit. The finishes and changes in these units makes it top notch and definitely more exiting to get in for your next vacation. The unit bedrooms which are all upstairs all have aircon which is awesome but sadly no aircon at the bottom, not a major let down but can get extremely hot. We had some issues getting in at the reception and there were ling queues and we were given wrong unit keys and had to insist on a renovated unit because the old one was not up to standard, and in all that took about three and a half hours in total because of the long queue and the fact that we gad to queue 3 times. This process needs to be streamlined and they need to get better at check-in, because they look like amateurs and unprofessional. And they waste guests time. The stay at Sun City with all the activities and stuff to occupy you is amazing. Things Sun City needs to work on: 1. Check in process -streamline it 2. Upgrade all the units as soon as possible 3. Improve housekeeping timekeeping and standards 4. Improve maintenance and call outs to units Otherwise, great stay. Love the new Reserve Upgrades.

loved it .. unfortunately the shops close early some as early as 8 pm and you cant go to the elephant bridge in evening anymore ...that was disapointing ....otherwise it waa a awesome break away

Great nearby escape with the family. Perfect for kids and safe and spacious. Lots for kids to do at the pool. Spur close by helps ease holiday family eating routines. Option of 2 different pools - both with slides. Free access to Valley of waves.

Always exactly what I need for a good time out. Definitely worth the money to spend a week break here every so often. Sure, some items prove to be a bit pricey but for the most part it is affordable and understandable. Sun city is a great holiday for swimmers and even those who don't like swimming. There is plenty to do and plenty to see. The nature is just spectacular and great for those living in urban areas to enjoy.

Sun Vacation Club: Absolutely vacation like. While waiting to check in, one sees the large outdoor pool through the reception doors leading to the pool area. Kids enjoy two slides while parents lounge around on the deck chairs. Free popcorn and slushies are served, seems like all day. There are fun activities running throughout the day like bingo and other family games. There's The Pantry, a grocery shop and Quench, a bottle store at the Vacation Club reception building. Accommodation: Definitely exceeded our expectations based on 7 years ago. The chalets are modern, clean and welcoming. Two film bathrooms, dishwasher, microwaves, toaster and cupboard space for groceries. Parking: Parking is provided although some parking bays are a small distance from their chalets. Housekeeping: Housekeeping does a really good job. Leave in the morning and come back to a chalet that has been reset to original!!

The units have been recently renovated. New furniture and TV's, with the main en-suite bedroom now also having a TV. Kitchen equipment like the stove and fridge is also new. Gardens are well kept as per usual with great security. We had a lovely stay.

Great accommodation. Modern stylish cabanas with state of the art equipment. Area is well maintained. Lots of activities on site ranging from safaris to segway tours. The units are self catering but there are numerous restaurants to choose from. The transport facilities are a big help as the entertainment area is quite a distance from the cabanas. There is also paraplegic transport. Over all a great vacation destination.

The movie theatres are very clean the staff are friendly. A very special touch to the service offering is that there is a staff member inside the theatre always available, to help with identifying your seats or needing to go to the loo during the screening. Prices are reasonable and the theatres are very close to the food court

Visited on a Tuesday so got the half price special. The Cinema is very clean inside with nice comfortable chairs. The screen quality and sound was good. The snacks was a bit on the expensive side for the Slushies, but overall a good experience when compared to the last couple of Ster Kinekors I have been to.

Great service and very helpful staff. The cinema was spotless and very well maintained. It wasn't very busy and the staff at the food stand let us leave our order at the counter until we were ready to go in.

As pricy as any movie house around SA... but they have great service and all movies snacks too. Latest movies...mainly for children. Situated in SuN Central...hard to miss.

It's a state of the art movie theatre, if your in Sun City and wana see something on the big screen it's the place to go.

Our visit to the park proved to be a truly remarkable and unforgettable experience. Despite the anticipated odds of encountering the "big five," the wildlife we observed brought us immense joy and satisfaction. We were fortunate enough to witness a variety of animals, including a lioness, cheetahs, giraffes, hippos, elephants, zebras, warthogs, and even a crocodile. The entire experience was simply amazing. Furthermore, our transportation was expertly handled by Bruno, the tour driver from the transport company, who ensured our comfort and convenience from our hotel and back. Considering the comprehensive nature of the experience, it was undoubtedly worthwhile, and I wholeheartedly recommend it. We made our reservation through the national park's official website.

If you a looking for a quiet, peaceful and relaxing activity over the weekend this is the place. The only con is the potholes but understandable considering the type of environment and even an entry level hatchback is able to handle both the tar and gravel road. The entrance fee is also reasonable for someone looking for budget friendly things to do

One of the best experiences in my life. We were very lucky and saw nearly every animal, it was super cool! The guide, who told us to call him T., was an incredibly skilled and experienced person, who knew all the habits of local animal and informdd us about them while prioritizing our safety.

Excellent game reserver. We had a wonderful time seeing 100s of elephants, White Rhino, Wildebeest, impala, kudu, water buck, girraffe, hippos, warthogs, meercat, zebra and more. The Pilanesberg Center is really a great restaurant, you must try there hamburgers. The only negative was the bad main tar roads but getting off these roads onto the gravel road allows you to see a huge variety of game. The other negative is the angry male bulls walking in the roads towards the late afternoon chasing the cars, utas nit a nice experience. All in all we really had a wonderful time and saw ample game, over 11 species multiple times and two of the Big Five. Thsnk you Pilanesberg Game reserve, we will be back.

Beautiful views. You can get good sightings of Rhinos, Elephants, Giraffes, & Antelopes. Only lucky ones get to see the big cats, chances are pretty less. Nice lunch offered by MoAfrika tours.

Access to the park is via terrible roads with potholes and little signage. The Bakgatla gate to the park had no WiFi, so I could get in for free. Some of the surfaced roads in the park have many potholes so it's best to drive slowly as one should. I had a great time on just one day with many brilliant sightings of Rhino and elephants. The hide at Malatse dam is a must for birders. At Mankwe dam I saw elephants swimming across from one side to the other which was totally amazing.

Sun City Is really a city on its own. Love the fact that ones you get there and park your car you will not need it until the time you checkout. These shuttles to even activities outside the resort. The number of fine dining restaurants need to increase feel like these not a lot of variety there. The staff is friendly and even when these thousands of us, they somehow don’t forget the faces. That is one incredible thing I noticed, very unique indeed. The activities are well managed

Staying in the Junior Suite at Sun City Palace was a truly memorable experience. The staff were warm, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure everything was perfect. The atmosphere was beautiful and relaxing, with stunning surroundings that made it easy to unwind. Breakfast each morning was delicious, offering a great selection and excellent service to start the day right. However, for the price you pay per night, the room itself could definitely use a bit of an upgrade. While still comfortable, some of the furnishings and finishes feel slightly dated compared to the otherwise luxurious setting. Overall, it was a lovely stay — just a little refresh would make it perfect.

We spent 4 nights at Sun City, again Hotel from 2-6 October to celebrate my 60th birthday. The Main hotel has been beautifully upgraded and some other facilities at the Resort. Check-in was done by a friendly and professional gentleman HOWEVER that's were their clientele stopped. We were met with abrupt, unfriendly staff throughout our stay. The cherry on top was the lady at the breakfast area front desk, she was unfriendly and had no manners speaking to visitors. The manual system te record visitors entering the breakfast area are long and tedious which ended up in long ques. Servers in the breakfast area were unfriendly, gave attitude when asked something, to the extend that we made a decision not to ask or engage staff to avoid frustration. We had so many bad experiences that it was a waste of money and my 60th birthday celebration was for below my expectation. Definitely not value for money if the facility is glamorous but service poor and clientele non-existent. We had to withdraw from our 6am game drive as ranger would not leave until all late comers were picked up, we spend time waiting then eventually driving to the palace to collect people, only to find they're not ready and the rest of the group were forced to wait... I can go on and on ... The main hotel had 1 lift working while the hotel was fully booked,

Really great experience for going out for the day . But if you do wanna explore whole of Sun city, u might aswell wanna book in for more than a day or two there to explore more and have fun everywhere around sun city. But the services ... now and then u get them being enthusiastic but most of the times they not . But else still thanks for the services and help u gave here and there a little .

Wonderful four night stay at The Palace. Every member of staff was incredibly helpful. Sampled lots of different food options and no complaints from me. Pool area is stunning.. The only minor gripe I have is the players card system in the casino- it’s impossible to get the card verified in a slot machine within 10 goes! Please sort this out! Thank you so much Sun City- can’t wait to return!

Suncity is great for families, they cater alot for children. Lots of fast food places. But for wine and dine we could not find one . Not sure about the Palace. We stayed at the Cabannas. Nice pool and lake. Over time its changed .

When we got back from our game drive with Mankwe Gametrackers, we were all still buzzing from the experience. It was, without a doubt, the absolute highlight of our trip to Sun City. We had hoped to see some animals, but we never expected to have such an incredible run of luck! We turned a corner and there was a majestic giraffe, just calmly nibbling on the leaves of an acacia tree. Not long after, we came across a whole herd of antelope gracefully moving through the grasslands. The real heart-pounding moment came when our guide spotted a lioness resting in the shade -- and then we saw her cute cubs nearby! It was breathtaking to see them so calm and powerful in their own habitat. We also visited a waterhole where a pod of hippos was lazily wallowing, grunting and splashing about, and to top it all off, we were even fortunate enough to spot a rhino in the distance---a truly special and humbling sight. None of this would have been the same without our fantastic game ranger, Nicky. She wasn't just a driver; she was a storyteller and an encyclopedia of knowledge! She could read the landscape like a book, pointing out tracks and signs we would have completely missed. She taught us so much about the animals' behaviour, from why giraffes have such long tongues to how lion prides are structured. Her passion for the bush and its inhabitants was infectious and made every sighting feel like a privilege. If you have the chance to do a game drive, do it. And if you're lucky enough to get Nicky as your guide, you're in for a truly educational and unforgettable adventure.

What a fun game drive we had. Not only did we manage to see the big 5. We had such close encounters with a pride of lions. Rhino and elephants. Our tour guy Promis was so much fun. Kept us smiling. And went out of his was to show us as much as we could in a 2hour tour. Thank you so very much. Made our trip from Cape Town worth while.

Fantastic we had a phenomenal day. We saw a lioness and her cubs, cheetah and a cub, white rhinoceros, giraffe, hippopotamus, warthogs, elephant etc. Our guide was informative and very friendly. They had complimentary coffee, tea and some muffins and cookies. This was a flawless game drive from the operators side. They also accommodated the wheelchair guest. Just a note if you like to take in the ambience of the African bush consider paying abit more for a private experience because there was a lady from another party that did not keep quiet for one minute in the 3 hour drive telling her life story and being disruptive. However due to the majesty of the African landscape we could manage to tolerate her constant talking. We will be back for another game drive next week. Thank you for this amazing experience, words fail to express how wonderful it was.

Had a fabulous 6 hour game drive including lunch at Pilanesberg with our guide Sappo who was so informative, went out of his way and didn’t fail to deliver sightings of the game we were looking forward to seeing. What a fantastic experience to see a young Cheetah up close and then spent a long time viewing a leopard watching and waiting from his hideout in a tree. I would really recommend this day and our driver Seppo.

Our quad biking adventure was nothing short of amazing! Each group is assigned an instructor, so we got to ride together as a family. The instructors were not only patient but also prioritized safety, ensuring we had a thrilling yet secure experience. The added bonus of spotting game during the ride added a unique touch to the adventure. Special kudos to our instructor for capturing incredible pictures, preserving the memories of our fantastic day. Highly recommend this experience for both the adrenaline rush and the unforgettable moments!

One suggestion: it would be great if arrangements could be made with nearby resorts to offer special accommodation rates for the hot air balloon experience. Checking in late (around 5-6 PM) and leaving at 3 AM for the ride, while paying full fees, feels steep. It would be wonderful if there were discounted rates, especially for South African guests. New management has taken over! Thank goodness, since that means Joseph gets to keep his job, and he can carry on the good work of educating customers on these beautiful animals. A great experience overall, even the venue, is a little run down and can do with an upgrade. The animals were amazing as you see species that are hard to come by in the wild or even the country. Joseph was also amazing.

Absolutely heartbreaking place. Animals do not look well treated, and in less than satisfactory conditions. My 5 year old som leaned on a railing that broke! It was really shoddy welding. I really hope there is a charity that breaks in and rescues all those lovely animals.

They have guided tours every hour. We missed the feeding time, which happen three times per week, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 4 o'clock in the afternoon. The wheelchair didn't work well in the lose soil. It was a great experience for us to see the lions, tigers and other predators closeup.

I was absolutely heartbroken by what I saw on this tour. The enclosures were far too small for the animals, with barely any water available and almost no shade to protect them from the heat. Many looked stressed and unhealthy. The facilities were extremely run down, and the conditions felt outright cruel. Animals deserve dignity, space, and proper care — sadly, this place offered none of that. I would never recommend supporting such treatment. The only good thing is that the lady who gave us the tour was friendly… but the cruelty towards these animals is horrific

I enjoyed our time here, although we did see 👀 some animals- the grass was fairly long, so most of them couldn't really be seen clearly. Our tour guide was absolutely fantastic and friendly- I would totally give her a 5 🌟. They have 2 snakes 🐍 on site - one you are able to carry. There's a shop with curios as well as cooldrinks & other snacks . We also did see a wolf and an ostrich which I didn't really get photos of. Ticket prices were R120pp
