Beautiful place.

Great place to visit if you are in the area. Gives you a glimpse of what China used to look like prior to the ongoing "modernization". More preservation efforts of the old world should be made.

(Translated by Google) I found Qiandeng really beautiful, even though it doesn't take long to see the old town. It was raining when I was there, so there was basically nothing going on. But I think it's a nice stopover if you're in the Shanghai/Suzhou area (Original) ich fand Qiandeng echt schön, auch wenn man echt nicht lange braucht bis man die Altstadt gesehen hat. Es hatte geregnet als ich da war, da war dann auch quasi gar nichts los. Aber ich finde es ist ein hübscher Zwischenstopp wenn man sich im Raum Shanghai/Suzhou aufhält

(Translated by Google) Qiandeng Ancient Town, Kunshan City, Suzhou City, is a free attraction. There is Qiandeng Ancient Temple, which costs 10 yuan to enter, but it is worth visiting. It is full of beautiful pagodas and forest of text monuments, as well as Jiangnan courtyards, which still have the style of elegant people. All buildings are typical Jiangnan style built along the river, with small bridges and flowing water. . It is a very distinctive Jiangnan style place, with antique charm, small bridges and flowing water, beautiful ancient buildings and many people. The scenery is even more beautiful in the evening. The reflection in the water is beautiful on a rainy day. Parks
Tinglin Park is a serene and picturesque destination located just 30 minutes from Kunshan. This ancient town is known for its waterways, bridges, and beautiful cherry blossoms in the spring. The park itself features stunning gardens filled with blooming azaleas and cherry blossoms during this season, offering visitors the perfect setting for a leisurely stroll, a peaceful picnic, or even some bird watching.
Beautiful park in the heart of Kunshan with little bridges, a mountain you can hike to the top (10 minutes max.) and gardens and bamboo forest. Simply wonderful. There is also a cat cafeteria and library inside and the staff is very welcoming and speaks English. Two cats live there as well.
Arina V — Google review
When you visit Kunshan, it's hard to imagine not visiting Tinglin Park. Admission is a very understandable 20 RMB, it is very centrally located and easily accessible (Bus 1 from Kunshan (slow train) station) and the views are on par with some of the gardens in Suzhou with only a fraction of the tourists. A recent expansion has almost doubled the size of the park so be prepared to walk quite a bit. In the centre of the park is a mountain that features a variety of ways to climb it, ranging from roads and stairs to more challenging natural paths. From the mountain top, there are outstanding views of Kunshan. Spring is probably the best season to visit but when we visited in the winter, it was still gorgeous if in a more bleak way. Take some of the less obvious trails and paths and you will be rewarded with some excellent photo opportunities. Pro Tip: Summer evenings occasionally feature outdoor Chinese opera performances in the gardens and "walking" on the ponds (through optical illusion). The opera features English subtitles on a screen. Even if Chinese opera is not your thing, you will definitely not regret this experience. Absolutely not to be missed. Check at the park entry gate for opera times and tickets.
Geoff — Google review
Beautiful park with great views. Only 20 RMB to enter.
Joshua M — Google review
It's a nice escape for a walk. It has a small entrance fee. They have done a good job to keep things beautiful and give the visitors the feeling that they are in a "traditional" Chinese garden. It also has a Buda temple. But you can say that nothing is original there, from the waters up in the hill (no spring nearby) to some "rocks" that are actually painted foam. It's about a 3Hours walk to see everything at the park and it sure worth the effort and time.
Theodore B — Google review
Nice, well-kept, orderly. No wheels chair access.

In addition, you can reach it from Zhujiajiao No. 1 Road, so the transportation is quite convenient. It’s a great place to watch the sunset. The scenery is charming. It’s surrounded by forests and the air is very fresh. It’s also far away from the city and there won’t be crowds of people. It’s suitable for the whole family, and it’s also suitable to come alone to relax and walk on the bridge to look at the vastness. The lake surface makes people feel very happy, and it is considered a relatively niche attraction.
