Bar
The Great Escape is a popular bar in Lausanne, especially during the warmer months. It has a rustic and easy-going atmosphere, offering a wide selection of national and international draft beers as well as snacks and various burgers until late at night. The bar features a sun-drenched terrace overlooking Place de la Riponne, making it a favorite spot for locals to enjoy drinks and socialize.
One of the best place for Brunch. They started the Brunch from today. Service is quick..very nice behavior..Amazing food. Amazing atmosphere.
Soma K — Google review
Decent, lovely place to be in the summer over looking the square and in the shadow of the magnificent cathedral. More of an English theme as oppose to the usual Irish ones which you often come across on the continent which is a nice change as those are usually cheap, nasty and way over top with the whole “Irish theme” no such nonsense here, the most genuine pub feel I’ve had en Suisse
Thomas W — Google review
Probably the best pub in Lausanne, especially when you can take advantage of the terrasse during a sunny day. Burgers are also very good and their fries are truly unique!
Mimo E — Google review
Service at bar very fast. Good prices for Lausanne. Inside very warm in the heat wave. Outside lots of seating, great atmosphere.
James F — Google review
What a great team! 👍 Warm welcome and Asahi on tap😉 (and lots of other beers too 🍻👌) Great spot in Lausanne.
Francois A — Google review
Probably favourite spot in Lausanne. Great location (literally underneath the Cathedral), amazing concept and wonderful vibes, both from the staff and people attending. A well organised terrace with British spirit (football matches always on tv, London style toilets, fresh beer) and arguably the best Cheeseburger around. Won’t get disappointed anytime I visit, of course best during spring/summer, but not limited to. A must go when in Lausanne.
Riccardo S — Google review
It is literally the place to be in Lausanne in the summer. People line up, the waiting staff merely moves parasols and cleans up. Service at the bar+bipper. The view is grand, the staff very kind, the food is great and the atmosphere is ridiculously boho glam given the circumstances.
Stephanie H — Google review
Serious frat party vibe. Don’t know anything about the food, but there was no chance of eating on the terrace.

I had a lovely dinner with my wife. Nice restaurant, high quality food and drinks.

Very kids friendly place, we highly appreciated it with our two kids. Beer was great. Food was very good, especially the meat. I would still work on the side fries though, they were soggy and overcooked.

Great atmosphere and very nice food. Loved the cordon bleu and the tartare is on top of my list in Lausanne. Recommended.

La Luncheonette is a modern diner and takeaway that caters to vegans, vegetarians, and meat-eaters alike. The interior of the restaurant is bright, convivial, and cozy with two levels. Located in the commercial district of Lausanne, it's an ideal spot for a meal while shopping or exploring the city center. The menu offers healthy and plentiful options for both dining in and takeout.
Great experience every time. The food is absolutely wonderful, the place is very cute and welcoming, and the staff are great.
Dorine H — Google review
Great restaurant with vegan options. I enjoyed the lentil soup but the burrito could have been more flavorful.
Briana S — Google review
A great place with many healthy and vegeterian choices. I tried the California dreaming salad with tofu and I was very satisfied with with the quality, quantity and with how fast I was served. The only downside is the coffee quality. I quickly realized I did a mistake for ordering coffee when they told me if I meant a big coffee (more water) when I asked for a double espresso. Unfortunately, it is quite common to find these famous brand machines around Switzerland which deliver below average coffee quality. For a place that has café in its name I would expect something a little better. That said I have to admit that there are countless other options for drinks ranging from bottled beverages to smoothies and juices. I tried a smoothie with strawberry, framboise and yogurt and it was absolutely fantastic. If you avoid the coffee this is a place worth trying!
Eleftherios Z — Google review
I recently placed a take-away order for 15 people from Luncheonette, and I have to say, the staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Despite the large order, the staff was incredibly attentive and made sure everything was packaged up neatly and ready to go. And the food...it was simply amazing. The wraps were packed full of fresh ingredients and bursting with flavor, and the brownies were some of the best I've ever had. The entire group raved about how delicious everything was. Overall, I can't recommend Luncheonette enough. The staff went out of their way to make sure our order was perfect, and the food was absolutely amazing. Whether you're looking to dine in or take-away, give Luncheonette a try. You won't be disappointed!
Alex R — Google review
The place is a bit small but it's cosy, staff were nice and the food didn't take very long to arrive. The food itself isn't packed with flavour or anything and stays true to the natural flavours of the ingredients. They luckily had some hotsauce to add some flavour to it which I appreciated.
Kaelan B — Google review
Big healthy salads on the menu , its good value for money . Ingredients didnt feel as fresh as they should especially the lettuce 🥬. They should invest in higher quality products to get the 5 star.
Toufic F — Google review
Really good experience! Tasty, healthy, filling, great quality ingredients and a good price. Lots of vegan and vegetarian options. The place is nice and cozy. New owner since a year ago so don't trust the old bad comments.
Sara F — Google review
Tuna poke bowl was underwhelming. The tuna didn't have much taste. The black rice is a good idea but in general this bowl is way too expensive (nearly 22chf) and this is as a take away. Unfortunately don't think I'm gonna come back and would not recommend this place, but that's only judging on the poke bowl dish that I tried.

Pub Les Gosses du Québec is a popular sports pub near the Lausanne train station, offering a laid-back atmosphere with pool tables, large screen TVs showing sports matches, and a popcorn machine for free salty snacks. The decor features Canadiana and sports jerseys, creating a cozy ambiance. On match days, the pub is bustling with charged energy, making it perfect for those seeking an animated atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy English-speaking staff and a wide selection of beers and other drinks.
What a lovely casual bar nestled in the heart of Lausanne! It's just a short stroll from the train station, making it super convenient. I had the pleasure of visiting for a beer with a local friend, and I must say, the service was not only quick but also truly excellent. Plus, the prices were quite reasonable, which is always a delightful bonus!

This is a very good place for an after work snack or beer or expats solo trip as it was my case. Great atmosphere and staff. I was there on a Monday and it felt like a Friday. Good beer selection (also draft), finger food and ‘Canadian food’, if there is such a thing. Will come back when in Lausanne.
Víctor R — Google review
A very nice bar with very tasty food! They speak English, so also for foreigners it's a nice place. They have a lot of beers at the menu, also some other drinks. We watched a soccer game at the TV-screen. At first there was another sport at the TV, but when we asked if they could turn on our game they did. Very nice people inside, great music. The only thing was that the airconditioning was broken above our table, so it was very hot inside.
Tijs B — Google review
I’m from Montréal (Canada) so Poutine is part of my culture haha we went there because of the poutine. I was happy to see the poutine cheese and I enjoy it. Was it the best one I ate? No, but good 😊 the service was a bit long and the waitress hadn’t a smile but when we will go back in Lausanne we will go again.
James R — Google review
finally tried the poutine and I can say it's better than what I had in Québec. Great American style pizza with choice of two toppings. They have wide variety of choice beers. I recommend the Valaisanne Zwickelbier they have on tap. Now I'm off to Québec to pass the word about Lausanne and Fribourg to fellow Canadians ☺️
Alexander X — Google review
Billiards! A real sports bar that has nice Poutine and maple syrup whiskey. We had a date playing billiards and even though I lost, I had a wonderful time. I used to come here for after work relaxation on Thursday and I am glad to restart that tradition.

Veganopolis Café is a cozy spot located in a residential neighborhood, offering a menu free of animal products. The compact venue serves up delicious burgers, sandwiches, salads, and sweets. While seating is limited, the staff is friendly and attentive. On weekends, visitors can enjoy the tasty burgers from the set menu at an average price of 22CHF. One improvement that could be made is providing reusable plates and silverware for dine-in customers.
The place is unassuming, especially as it's in a pretty residential neighborhood, but the food is quite good. I got the seitan burger, fries, and ginger kombucha and happily devoured it all. There are only burgers on weekends, and the set menu averages about 22CHF. The burgers themselves are around 14CHF. Seating is very limited, but the staff is kind and attentive. One thing I would want them to improve is giving reusable plates and silverware to customers who plan to eat in. I told them I would be dining in, but still got takeout packaging, which was unnecessarily wasteful. Other than that, I would definitely recommend this place for a filling vegan meal!
Lily F — Google review
Visited here with a friend of mine who lives in Geneva. Now I'm not vegan or vegeterian, however the hot dog and fries I had were delicious. Would highly recommend, and if you're like me and not vegan or vegeterian give it a good you might be surprised!
Oliver H — Google review
Very nice foods, the burgers are so yumii ! Its a vegan restaurant. Burgers only on saturday !
Joël C — Google review
I give 5 stars even though there some downsides. Visited at lunch time on Saturday. Long waiting time, but that's fine, the weather was good. We were three, so the order was automatically a bit bigger. Food was very good. I mean really really very good. Great burger, amazing hot dog. Fries very good, but a bit too greasy and a bit too garlicky, but not a massive problem. Apart from minor issues I'm happy I went there. Will be coming back.
Karol C — Google review
Got the daily dish, vegan gluten free lasagna with pumpkin, sauge, and walnuts. It was delightful! And priced at 12.- for a generous portion. I also got a huge piece of cake - more than enough for two to share - (chocolate filled with vegan whipped cream), delicious too. Price tag for this was 6.- Very pleasant experience with a helpful and kind waitress. Sad I'm not living close by ;-)

Friendly staff, incredible food (even if you’re not vegetarian / vegan ;) ), let yourself be surprised by their amazing recopies! Highly recommended! Very convenient take away.

McCarthy's Irish Pub in Lausanne is a favorite spot for locals and visitors alike. The friendly staff and great atmosphere make it perfect for enjoying drinks and dinner, especially if you're a sports fanatic. The food is highly recommended, with delicious burgers, chicken wings with a super spicy house special hot sauce, pork ribs, fish and chips, and double fry chips.
I have tried many pubs and burger stores in Switzerland but in the irish pub is the most tasty burger and beer I have ever tried. The servive is excellent very friendly atmosphere and they give you the flexibility to Change in the menu some things if you don't like.Even the beer i don't drink often and I left the waitress to choose and it was tasty to . I tried the Texas beef burger with goat cheese and i added an egg extra without the blue cheese Thank for making my life tasty today .

Very lively place, great atmosphere and super staff. Not a big vegetarian section but very nice food. Can watch sports there and if you’re lucky there might be a pub quizz !!

The place is great, during the time we had lunch there wasn't a table left without someone there, one person left and another person came in. The food is delicious, I ordered fish and chips and it was perfect!

Very nice pub in Lausanne! It's great to watch sports, and for the weekly pub quiz on Sunday night. The burgers and the food is not bad, but could be better. The beer selection is instead very nice!
Giorgio N — Google review
Sat at the bar and had a nice chat with the bar staff. Overall friendly atmosphere and good place for a pint
Greg — Google review
Everything was good, food was really tasty and they are fast in taking and bringing orders. Only negative remark is the waiter who - in a rather unfriendly way told me (half British)- that I don’t need to specify what size Guiness I want as it’s an Irish pub which only serves “pints” if I order a Guiness (for example) so I asked him if he’s Irish, which he was obviously not because otherwise he would know that a pint is not 0.5l but actually 0.568l. So if you don’t have any clue what you’re talking about, I’d advise not to be a smartarse towards the guests.
Finn L — Google review
Great and friendly service. The burgers never disappoint. Quick service. Don't hesitate to go for the salad, they are great too.
M N — Google review
They forced me for a dish they took back to the kitchen (so I didn't even get to eat). The whole thing was very confrontational and I am not sure that would have happened if I weren't a student. But the pub quiz is pretty cool

Great place for a brunch in Lausanne. Very conveniently located close to the railway station. Very tasty food and excellent service. The butternut stracciatella, tartare and mousse de cèpes are definitely worth tasting!

A fantastic brunch spot in Lausanne! We stopped by after visiting the Olympic Museum (just a 10–15 minute walk away) and were glad to find it open on a Sunday when most other places were closed—a definite plus. It’s also easily accessible from Lausanne’s main station. The lively atmosphere, the hum of conversations, and the sounds of coffee machines make it a great place to enjoy brunch. The local concept of various ingredients on toast was new to us, and we tried the beef tartare, salmon, and a sweet meringue-based option—all of which were delicious and satisfying. Unlike many brunch spots, the portions here felt just right. If you’re in Lausanne, this place is definitely worth a visit!

Very good Brunch on the terrace ! The menu is unique and creative. It's also great for vegetarians! We had the option of calling to book a table. You can also do so on the TheFork app. If you're a hungry bear, you can go for the three-plate option. If you're a pooh, the two-plate option works well too!

This place is super good for brunch with friends. It has space inside and also have a nice terrace and for sunny days it is perfect. There is nice coffee place nearby which is named sleepy bear where you get the best speciality coffees. The service is great, there is slight waiting time between taking orders, but if you are there to have relaxed brunch time, this is not an issue. Highly recommended!! In addition, I really enjoyed the sweet options as shown in the pictures.

Delicious food where you discover tastes that you did not even know it existed. Local food with a lot of flavors. The service is very friendly and caring. It feels like home and the ambiente is very coasy with the opportunity to sit also outside.

Underrated spot in Lausanne for brunch or lunch. Their food is original and very tasty with innovative combinations. It’s also perfect if you want to share with friends. The terrace is cute and quiet. Tastes are well balanced. The bean and dried tomato hummus is a big hit! Tartare is good too but could have more of a kick imo. Maybe some more herbs or a more acidic note.

Léa A — Google review
(Translated by Google) The place is nice and the cow is very nice, but it lacks a little pasture. (Original) L'endroit est sympa et la vache est très gentille, mais ça manque un peu de pâturage.
Mais Y — Google review
(Translated by Google) Good, natural products from Vaud, a great selection, you could buy the whole store... (Original) Gute natürliche Produkte aus dem Waadtland, tolle Auswahl, man könnte den ganzen Laden kaufen...
