Café de Grancy is a popular casual eatery with a terrace that offers a wide range of global cuisine, desserts, and an ample wine list. The team behind this classic hangout includes four partners who have extensive experience in the restaurant and entertainment industry. The café occupies the ground floor of a lavish 19th-century apartment building and features antique chaise longues and slouchy sofas up front, perfect for relaxing with a good book or enjoying hot chocolate.
Here for dinner supper. Thank you for the good service! Although the menu in French, we're super happy with this waitress that explains and introduce to us in English, wonderful! We got the seasoned salmon and vege tartare. And the creme brulee is superb! 1. Food is superb, they served them quite fast, but all are tasty! 2. Atmosphere is great inside, but outside is fully taken on a sunny day. Will probably come back again for the brunch and great services!

Walked past here by chance and reserved for an evening meal (that the reservation was wrote down for a wrong day - my french was to blame - was no problem). We had very good food and the service was perfect. Very lively - but a conversation is still possible.
Philip D — Google review
The food is delicious and the staff provide excellent service. I recommend calling ahead to reserve a table. The atmosphere is really nice, and the location is very convenient, right next to the train station. It’s a great place to sit, chat, and relax with friends or a partner.
EM X — Google review
Super delicious food, great atmosphere and they have games 😍 We went here for brunch on our weekend trip to Lausanne because of a recommendation. Definitely worth it. The chocolate Balzac was the most delicious hot chocolate I've ever had. The pancakes with bacon and the cauliflower with garam masala were also amazing. They also have a lot of board games that you can just take. We played uno while waiting for the food which was not long at all, actually even though the place was packed. I think we'll come here again for brunch tomorrow 😊

My favorite thing in Lausanne. Perfect atmosphere, amazing food.
Janne R — Google review
Lovely outdoor seating with nice views of the lake. Expect a wait if you want to sit outside and don’t have a reservation. Interesting indoor details. Menu is in French so keep your phones translation app handy. Friendly but very busy staff with some English spoken. Flavorful dishes. Got the sausage with mustard, mashed potatoes and veggies and liked it. Large portions. Reasonably priced wine.
Farhad M — Google review
The Cafè is close to the Lausanne train station. We came to the Café to grab some food late in the day. Everything was great and delicately presented.
Laura C — Google review
I have had private and business lunches and dinners in this cosy brasserie for more than 10 years. I have been almost always satisfied, except perhaps for the noise that in some evenings made conversations difficult. However, over the past one to two years the quality of food gradually and persistently deteriorated. Yesterday the risotto was served almost cold, it detached in blocks from the dish, and the shrimps were chewy; the ice cream arrived to our table half melted in its cup. At least the price did not change much over the past two years ;-) I hope that they will get back to their high standards soon -- there are many other great and causal restaurants in the neighbourhood and I won't go back to this one for quite some time.

Nestled just off the square in Lausanne's iconic flatiron building, Le Pointu is a delightful culinary haven that offers a refreshing take on seasonal dining. This charming spot invites you to savor homemade bread alongside an array of coffees, wines, and cocktails in a cozy atmosphere. Whether you're stopping by for a midday poke bowl or indulging in their acclaimed Sunday brunch featuring pancakes, avocado toast, and acai smoothies, there's something for everyone.
Very nice place to eat or have a drink. Beside the road but manageable. Small but tasty selection. Very busy !
Theo — Google review
Trendy brunch spot, this restaurant is wonderfully located. Unfortunately, it means there's a lot of coming and going and, in winter, that means an unpleasant cold gust of street wind: maybe invest in a curtain. The staff was moderately interested in serving our table and mildly polite. The food is excellent but took a long time to arrive and was expensive. Not sure I'll go again.
Stephanie H — Google review
Arrived for brunch around 1pm on a Sunday without a reservation and we were warmly welcomed and offered a window seat.l, which was fine. Our order was taken promptly. We ordered 2 plates of French toast and bacon, a side of pancakes, a flat white, a fresh oranges, and a Mimosa. The food arrived quickly and looked great. The coffee was good, the orange freshly squeezed and sweet and the Mimosa nicely strong with alcohol. Unfortunately the food was pretty disappointing. The french toast was bland and didnt really taste of anything. The pancakes were better but nothing to write home about. All in all a fairly average experience we won't be rushing back to repeat. Prices are average for Switzerland. Go somewhere else.
Joel C — Google review
If you are reading these because you are looking for a place to eat lunch on Sunday and nothing was open, like we did, here is open and brunxh is offered until 15. Very slow service, but our waiter was so friendly. We had the french toast with matcha and a cappuccino, almost 50 francs, service included.
Ana F — Google review
We went for Saturday brunch around 1 PM and ordered courgette toast, shakshuka, tiramisu, and two cappuccinos. The shakshuka portion was very small, and the toast could have been more enjoyable with some extra sauce or mushrooms. That said, the tiramisu was excellent and the cappuccinos were well-prepared. The atmosphere was cosy and welcoming, and the service attentive and friendly. While the menu could benefit from a bit more variety, overall it was a pleasant brunch experience. We paid 70 CHF for two people, which felt a bit high.
Anna D — Google review
This is the kind of place you pray to never never change. It’s just perfect. And above all? The service: incredibly good by amazing people 👏
Paulo S — Google review
Nice place for Sunday breakfast and brunch. The restaurant gets busy so booking ahead is essential. Portions are on the small side unfortunately while prices are on the high side. We spent roughly 40 euros per person for a coffee and breakfast main each, and ordered two desserts to share for 3.
DF P — Google review
The eggs benedict and tartare sandwich were good, however the drinks brought our experience down as it was filled with too much milk. We had gotten a matcha latte that almost looked white with the lack of matcha.

Came across this place when I was searching for a good place to brunch in Lausanne and I can easily say that this is “the spot” for a delicious brunch. Lovely staff, very good food and a cozy atmosphere. I recommend making a reservation in advance to avoid queuing in the front.
Mara — Google review
Great location, 5 min from the train station, mostly requires booking especially on weekends, the service is great, but still if the person who takes the order changes just remind them if they take longer to bring anything. In general this place is great with the food options they have, personally don't recommend the cold drink options there, coffees and croissants are great. salt brunch options with salmon and Avocado was really good. It is Lausanne and expect standard Swiss price.

The Beau-Rivage Palace is a historic hotel that has maintained its reputation for luxury since the 1860s. Situated on the tranquil shores of Lake Geneva, just a short drive from Lausanne city center, this grand hotel offers refined accommodations, an acclaimed restaurant, and a focus on wellness. Guests can indulge in the sublime spa by Cinq Mondes of Paris, take advantage of two heated swimming pools, and enjoy various wellness consultations and facilities.
Magnificent ! Stayed for two nights and enjoyed every second. Brasserie and the Japanese Restaurant Kaigan were very good. Breakfast outstanding with the best pastry I've ever had in a 5* Hotel in Switzerland. All staff is exceptionally attentive and professional. Beau Rivage Palace definitely stands out in the family of Swiss Deluxe Hotels. Merci Beaucop!

The overall experience was really good! The receptionists were very nice and welcoming. The view and our rooms were excellent ,clean, spacious, and very comfortable. However, the elevator was not working due to maintenance, and the main stairs were also closed. We had to use the service elevator, which guests didn’t have access to, so one of the receptionists had to escort us to our room each time. This was not acceptable for such a prestigious hotel, especially since there was no alternative elevator available. Additionally, the breakfast service was quite slow, and we had to wait a long time to be served. Overall, despite these issues, we still enjoyed our stay.
Arwa A — Google review
This was a true luxury hotel. The rooms were spacious, beautifully maintained, and had high end finishes. The hair dryer was outstanding. Robes and slippers both in the room and spa allowed for relaxation. This hotel was the perfect size. Larger than a boutique hotel with 160 rooms but not a massive resort. We will definitely be returning!
Laine H — Google review
5 star, and owning it. Beautiful historic building, sumptuous rooms, elegant surroundings and great views. The breakfast spread is amazing and would come just for that when not staying at the hotel. Staff are friendly and excellent- the catering and concierge staff in particular. Spa and pool also worth the trip.
Kimberly B — Google review
We were at beau rivage palace for a short stay of 2 nights and we were amazed by the quality that this hotel has to offer. Starting from the check-in, were the young staff of receptionists welcomed us warmly and were happy to help us for any kind of situation, to the room and bathroom design and comfort level (yes, the beds are very very comfortable). The old wing of the hotel is like a museum with his historic photography, portraits, old documents, historical meeting rooms and the most ancient elevator in Switzerland. We could also get a tour with some explanation of the hotel’s historical background which was provided by Jean Charles, who also assisted us during our whole stay. Thank you very much! We could enjoy the guerlain spa as well. The spa itself isn’t that big, but if you consider that it is built inside an historic building like this, they did a really good job. The modern design is perfectly integrated with the old building. The pools as well as the changing rooms are perfectly clean all the time. This is a place you surely want to go to relax after a walking day or sport. The hotel staff is amazing, very attentive to help the guests but also very discrete. This we must say again and again. These guys go above and beyond for the hotel guest (and not only). They make you want to come back! We hope we can be back soon.
Matteo D — Google review
A truly luxurious experience. The service was professional and attentive, and the rooms and facilities were beautifully maintained. The gym was well-equipped, and the pool offered ample seating. An excellent location and an overall outstanding stay.
Daniel M — Google review
Excellent luxury hotel with a high level of service at the reception as well as in the restaurants. Housekeeping was very responsive when I asked for harder pillows. The breakfast service is faultless with healthy fruit options. For a hotel of this class, perhaps they could serve fresh orange juice. Hotel is well placed for its proximity to the lake but a little too far to walk to the town centre.
Viren D — Google review
I have stayed at this hotel several times. I would say it is one of the best I have ever stayed at in terms of location, rooms, hygiene, service. During my last stay I had to use room service. I waited about 2 hours for a soup. I really hope this does not happen again. Otherwise the hotel is truly exceptional in every way.

Bleu Lézard is a vibrant restaurant and late-night bar in Lausanne, offering a diverse global cuisine and hosting live music nights. This popular spot has been a part of the city's scene for over 20 years, known for its innovative concept of allowing patrons to send anonymous messages to each other through paper and pens distributed by the establishment. Additionally, it hosts weekly soirées with an intriguing messaging system facilitated by young messengers using secret codes to maintain anonymity.
Great evening spent here! Food was fantastic as was the wine. Good selection on the menu. Service was very friendly, a pleasure to be there, highly recommend.

Ambiance and Drinks: The ambiance at this restaurant is undeniably charming. With cozy lighting, comfortable seating, and a relaxed atmosphere, it’s an ideal spot for enjoying drinks with friends. Entrées: The flavors were well-balanced, and the presentation was nice. The Not-So-Great Burger: Unfortunately, the main course didn’t live up to expectations. I ordered the burger, requesting it to be “well done.” However, what arrived was an overcooked patty. The texture was tough, making it a challenge to eat. Considering the price, I expected better quality. Perhaps the kitchen needs to pay more attention to burger perfection. Final Thoughts: This restaurant is a great place for drinks and socializing, but I’d hesitate to recommend it for dining. If you’re looking for a cozy spot to unwind with friends, definitely stop by. Just skip the burger and explore other menu options.

We got to Lausanne very late and were having trouble downloading and setting up the parking apps to park our cars on the street, so I went into the club and asked for help and they were kind enough to help us with our parking issue. Just for the awesomeness of the staff alone I’d recommend this club ❤️

We came here using the Taste My Swiss City Pass and were pleasantly surprised by the portions and quality of the food. A great place to have lunch right in the centre of the city, not far from the cathedral.
Krista P — Google review
They served a gordon bleu that was still red inside, told me that was normal (pork meat), then I compained again because it was still cold and raw (dangerous!). They took it back and came back with the dish, it was still very red/raw inside. They they told me the could give me a small saled instead, but I wanted a full meal to eat. So they told me I could order a full salad, but I still needed to pay for the attemt of food poisoning they did on me (gordon bleu). Of course, I did not agree on that and after some arguing they did not charge me for the raw pork failure. Yesterday we went there again as I was invited to the soiree message by some friends. They totally messed up all the messages and we got messages that where not even for us, it took 30 min per message before the women would even come to our table, so this place, unless they quickly change stuff will not last long. It used to be quite ok...

Amazing restorant in the centre of town. Really nice and approachable staff that is willing to take it's time and explain the menue. Loads of options to order and portions are quite large! Would definitely come back again!

I bought a ticket for a concert here. The concert was cancelled and they never refunded me the ticket price. Customer service has been completely unresponsive and it seems like I might never get that money back. Very disappointing.
Nick M — Google review
I was sent here my a friend since we were in the are, and while I can see it has a few good things it wasn’t the case with our dishes. I had the Vaudoise burger, which is only tomme cheese. I can and do eat a wheel of the cheese in a sitting so I was looking forward to it. The in was so hard from the over I literally had to break it with my fork, and Che these was still somehow half cold. The salad on it was overly. Utter and this added up to a dish I didn’t finish. The fries were also quite bad, The escargot were good, I wish I had ordered 12 instead. My friend had the cordon blue, which was hugely underwhelming for the price but not outright bad. I would go back if I was going to see music next door, since you could hear and feel it through the wall.

Restaurant
Tibits, an international vegetarian restaurant chain, has made a mark in Lausanne with its flagship restaurant located in the city's historic railway station. Despite initial skepticism from locals, the restaurant has won over diners with its light and seasonal menu. The self-service buffet offers a wide variety of vegetarian and vegan options prepared with care. The restaurant has become a popular spot for health-conscious brunch-goers.
Absolutely stunning restaurant which had the most unique concept of buffet, but pay for how much u eat (weight). This restaurant helps showcase that vegetarian and vegan food can be tasting as well as healthy. Truly appreciate this great effort and hope more countries follow thru with this!!!
Bhavana S — Google review
Tibits is a non pretentious restaurant with a great variety of food. They propose a buffet where you can choose anything that’s you’d like and then pay for the total weight of the plate. It had many options from different types of cuisine. They are vegetarian and gluten free friendly which is awesome. The only issue is that if you decide to go on a very busy day getting a table might be a little bit hard since no one takes care of that and it’s up to the client to find a seat. The prices are ok maybe just a little bit higher than expected but the food quality is excellent.
Azul V — Google review
Lovely service. Good selection of food and drinks. Make a plate. Weigh it. Pay and eat.
Peter W — Google review
The dishes are simple but the quality and taste is great! The fried jalapeños are a must try! However, I find it slightly overpriced.
Ana G — Google review
If you had told me I could great a great vegetarian meal in a train station I never would have believed it! The price for the buffet is based on the weight of your plate...but that wasn't obvious to non-native customers.
Allison P — Google review
Tibits was a pioneer in vegetarian and vegan food in Switzerland. Food was creative, delicious and special. Over the last 17 years the prices have risen significantly. More weight - more expensive. Especially in winter time where root vegetables are more popular (and heavier) you pay around 30-40 CHF per meal having mostly broussel sprouts and beets. Unfortunately, the quality dropped and newer vegan places serve better and more affordable food than Tibits or Hiltl. But the thing that bothers me most is, that most of their special beverages contains sugar (except of the coffee and water): the ginger tea! - (who would expect sugar in a ginger tea!!!), matcha, Chai latte, the almond-soy drink and many more! Even other great coffee chains changed their attitude towards sugar because they were officially blamed selling high caloric beverages. Perhaps the owners haven't yet realized the impact of sugar on our body!
Daniela S — Google review
Great selection of hot and cold vegetarian food. We were ecstatic to have found this place. From salads to curries there was a good selection of different cuisines. We especially loved the seaweed and rice noodle salad. Self service so you choose your food and it is charged by weight. You can eat in or use take away tubs. Free bread roll with each meal. Price was a little higher than other self serve places in Switzerland. The location was both convenient at the and place was simply amazing. Looking forward to eating at the tidbits in Luzern. Couldn’t really find anything to fault. If anything it was that it was too crowded!

With its charming terrace adorned with small tables, it's perfect for enjoying a leisurely coffee or meal while soaking up the vibrant ambiance of the city. Such a beautiful place!! This cute corner cafe (now with its newly opened bar next to it) offers a vivid enviroment on the cutest paidestrian street and AMAZING food!! The Best beef tab I ever had, no kidding!! Staff know their job and they are very eficient and kind!! Nice place with very friendly service. Price and portions were quite normal for the area, food was decent overall. The gnocchi wasn’t great (spongy pasta), cordon bleu was fine, and the mushroom dish with rice was good. Despite the place being quite crowded, the servers were attentive and happy to help us. Would visit again.
Weiq — Google review
Rather bizarre terrace, where cars practically drive over your plate, the audience is very Bobo/boho. But the service is nice, the food is good and it is right next to the train station. I wish there were more vegetarian options.

You don't go here because of the food but the service and atmosphere. It s a great place for an evening among friends. Food is very basic, but prices are reasonable. Their Macedonian red wine is decent and has a good value.

Café de Prélaz is a charming spot with a mix of industrial and cozy elements, featuring white-tiled walls, concrete floors, pretty carpets, and comfortable sofas. The plant-styled wallpaper adds to the unique ambiance. This café is not just about the decor; it also offers delicious food and a warm atmosphere.
Cozy cafe restaurant with delicious food, amazing smiling workers and soft music atmosphere that makes you want to stay more. The space and fournitures are incredible. A lovely terrace where in warm weather is nice to drink a tisane and even smoke. Inside there is the WiFi 🛜 and possibility to work with your laptop or make business meetings. Lightly space at all. The workers are always smiling and extremely polite, they listen all your requests and make sure you are as your pace there. Various and different delicious meals that touch the Mediterranean countries. Great options for vegan and vegetarian meals. They organise some events connected with Mediterranean cuisine 🧑‍🍳. There is a delicious brunch every day and in the weekend they are open till late. What impressed me most is regarding desserts, they don’t put a lot of sugar or try to use alternatives, this is awesome 🤩 Prices are $$$ I highly recommend it 🔥🚀👏👏👏

A relaxed and chic cafe at the suburbs of Lausanne. The menu is a mix of oLebanese food and also typical brunch options. I like the interior with plenty of wood and green touches. Very dog-friendly, there is a resting place for dog and they provided my furry friend with a drinking bowl.

THE HIDEAWAY Lausanne is a charming two-story cafe located near the M2 Bessieres metro station. It offers a diverse menu featuring generous and colorful dishes such as toasts, bagels, eggs, wraps, and pancakes every day of the week. The cafe is known for its classic brunch specialties as well as unique creations like the Billy Bad Boy Banjo Burger Burrito.
Best breakfast in Switzerland at a great price! Great food with healthy choices and great service from our waitress Hinda (I think that is the spelling!). Large giant coffee mugs with an excellent flavour from the blank long to a latte. Fresh squeezed orange juice without any bitterness (good oranges).
Steve I — Google review
I’m extremely disappointed with the quality and condition of the food I received. To begin with, I ordered two iced lattes, which were shown in the menu photo as individual coffee cups. Instead, I received a single warm bottle, only misleading, but completely inappropriate for an iced beverage. There was no ice, and the drink was room temperature at best. The cappuccino was even worse. It arrived in a damaged cup, with the edges broken and most of it spilled onto my burrito. The foam had completely disappeared, making it more of a cold coffee with milk than a proper cappuccino. As for the burrito, it was honestly inedible. The taste was repulsive, and having it soaked in spilled cappuccino only made it worse. I would be surprised if a guest re -ordered this, also my roommates agreed with me. The side salad was equally disappointing: low-quality ingredients, barely dressed, and lacking any seasoning. Considering I paid 77 CHF (excluding delivery and service fees due to my Uber Eats membership), I wasn’t expecting just good quality, I expected exceptional quality. Unfortunately, what I received was far from acceptable. It was really BAD. The food was poorly packaged, of low quality, and the delivery arrived after more than an hour, which is simply too long. I am giving one star only for the pancakes which were nice. Also, I am not the person who complaints all the time when items are missing or the food arrives cold, I usually move on and forget it. But this time it was really bad, I felt I needed to write a review. Furthermore, I really do NOT want to hear that the delivery is not your responsibility, because it’s NOT TRUE. You are equally responsible for packaging it right and avoid negative spillover effects. Overall, this experience was extremely disappointing and not at all reflective of the price point or expectations set by the listing. It felt like a complete scam.

Attentive service, welcoming us since the beginning to show us our seat. Various food selection for your typical healthy brunch style. Everything we ordered were superb and generous in portion. Coffee was also very proper. We had a very enjoyable Sunday brunch and will come back again 🥰

It was a delightful surprise. We were searching for a place open on Sunday in Lausanne for lunch and ended up here out of curiosity. The staff is genuinely friendly and polite, the menu provides a wide variety of choices, and the food was both fresh and healthy. We'll definitely be back! :)
Chiara S — Google review
A very nice place to stop while walking around Lausanne. The burgers are amazing. Service is fast and with a very good attitude. There are only a few tables outside and although they are next to the street, the traffic is not intrusive or annoying. Take a look inside the establishment. On the third floor, the atmosphere is vintage, arranged with attention to detail and with style.
Nadin V — Google review
Nice, friendly place to have a breakfast. Unfortunately the coffee was below average. The pancakes were good, but served with barely enough Sirup and without anything - kind of disappointing for the price. The waitress was friendly and attentive, but seemingly stressed.

Managed to find the only place who had available tables on a Sunday for lunch, managed to sit outside under the nice sun. The place is cute, small and cozy. Coffee shop
Coccinelle Café, located in the heart of town, is a popular spot for a coffee break and a selection of pastries such as croissants, biscuits, and lemon meringue pie. The café offers a seasonal lunch menu featuring salads, tartines, and other satisfying options at good value. With two floors and an extensive outdoor area, it can accommodate many diners but tends to be busy.
Lovely place! It was 1 block away from my hotel, we walked in at 1:30pm asking for breakfast and they still had it!!! Amazing! The petit dejeuner was great! The coffee and the croissant delicious, the eggs well prepared, all good! The staff was really friendly with my awful French pronunciation
Yannick S — Google review
Extremely Disappointing Experience at Coccinelle Café – Avoid We were just passing from the Lausanne and we just stopped to have breakfast. The coffee was, at best, mediocre. The food was equally bland, and the poached egg was practically raw. But the worst part by far was the service, which bordered on unacceptable. The waiter served the coffee spilled all over the saucer. Instead of replacing it, she casually wiped it with a napkin in front of us and handed it back – still wet and stained. She took our order while the riddle from her crossword was still on the table – perhaps she was too tired to care, even though it was only 10:30 AM. We were given a bottle of water without any glasses. When we finally got some, they were old, cloudy, and full of scratches – clearly overused and not properly maintained. It felt like they had given up entirely – the whole place gave off an air of neglect. The state of the bathrooms didn’t help either – only moderately clean and lacking any real sense of style or upkeep. Either the management no longer cares, or this place is quietly preparing to shut down. In any case, I would not recommend it to anyone. Total disappointment.
Panagiotis K — Google review
Very disappointed with the quality of food served. The waffles were cold, rock hard and the ones you buy from the supermarket while costing 8chf. The coffee was alright and the bread was cold. Honestly I expected so much better. I will not be coming back.

Jordan C — Google review
My go to coffee shop whenever I need to focus on work/uni deadlines! Both salmon fresh cheese pancakes and chocolate whipped cream waffles are my favourite cravings.
Dounia — Google review
It’s a very central cafe, good position. It’s also quite spacious, on 3 floors. The food (we had only the brunch - see picture -, can’t say anything about lunch) was also good, we couldn’t complain about that. The service though.. 1. I tried to call to make a reservation the evening before, I called 7 times in 2 hours, but nobody picked up. I had to call the same day to make the reservation. 2. The waitress told us to sit upstairs, so we did. We waited for longer than 15 minutes and nobody was coming, so we had to call the waiter ourselves. 3. As mentioned, we tried the breakfast/brunch. In the menu it states that you can choose coffee, tea or chocolate for beverage. We chose one among the list of coffees (there’s another list aside for “special coffees”, we supposed that those were not the included ones, so we just chose among the “normal coffees” list), but it turns out, they were also “too special” so we had to pay for additional charges. Unfortunately the waitress didn’t even mention it as we ordered, thanks. And of course no mention on the menu. (Just to compare, we changed a croissant to a “special” one. For that we had to pay extra 1 franc, which was completely ok, since it states in the menu, something like “every change will be charged”, but as already mentioned, nothing about the coffee. I didn’t find it fair) So overall, good food quality but personally pretty bad service experience. There are so many nice places in Lausanne, I can’t recommend this one.

We saw many good reviews, so we had to come here for breakfast, and we are so glad we did. We had the complete breakfast, brioche, pancakes and a chocolate croissant. All of it was very good! Good beers, good food. Small selection but good products. Nice place with interesting people, more of a chill hang out than a bar, with people on their laptops during the day, etc. The 6chf planchette was accompanied by a generous serving of warm bread, good value for Lausanne.

One of the hidden jewels of the city. A low building on a quiet street, split in two by narrow stairs, welcomes coffee and brunch lovers for a relaxing time at one of the 4+4 indoors tables or one of the 3-4 long external tables. I enjoyed a wonderful Spanish tartar with salad and fries for lunch. Service was good and courteous and you get your food in a reasonable time. I felt that my server was more reluctant to serve patrons who spoke English but this is likely something you see at certain places. Portions are on the bigger end so it is worth what you pay. The food was great, and the atmosphere was very relaxed. The service was very slow (we waited for at least 20 minutes for someone to take care of us, after begin seated) and honestly could have been more friendly (though one waiter was much nicer than the others).

Service: is slow and needs improvement: it takes the three staff a long time to come to your table to welcome and take your order, afterwards our coffee drinks were forgotten, etc. Management needs to provide organization and planning for the staff. Food is excellent, from meat to cheese to vegeterian options to viennoseries, etc.
Samaneh M — Google review
The Korean pancake was amazing, the croissant was dry and uninspiring. I would recommend going for something fresh made in the kitchen. Updated after I visited another time: Definitely order the fresh stuff, this is really good. The pain perdu Tiramisu was heaven. And the Korean pancake was fantastic again.

After a week in Italy and passing through town, I couldn’t pass up the terrace and the opportunity to eat something that wasn’t pasta… Wow. I always have high expectations but usually expect just about anything when I drop in somewhere unfamiliar and new. I was BLOWN AWAY by the Chicken Cordon Bleu dish that I ordered at the servers recommendation. Usually I would have gone for the burger and kept it simple, but I’m so glad I didn’t. On top of that, such a lovely and lively spot. The beers come out quickly and the servers went above and beyond in making it an even better experience. Compared to other specialty coffee shops in Lausanne not my favourite, flat white was too acidic for my taste and the atmosphere a bit weird due to the layout of the place (long corridor in the middle of a rather residential courtyard). Staff is very nice though, and the spots by the window nice to stay a bit and work (laptops are accepted).

Delicious specialty coffee, we really enjoyed our flat white and the pastry ( banana bread and pain au chocolat). Very friendly atmosphere, we had a lovely time here. If you’re looking for a great way to start your day, this is the place to be.

Coffee itself was great as usual although the milk was not frothed that well this time. Maybe varies by the barista. Unfortunately, the matcha (latte) was probably the worst I’ve ever had - not bright in colour, a dirty green, and tasted old. Especially for the price I was expecting a fresher batch.

Little coffee shop serving good coffee. The atmosphere is nice. However, there are seated for only a handful of people(not all seats are pictured). I went there to study a bit for uni. I put 4/5 because the Cappuccino (very good) was quite expensive 5,50.- CHF . Otherwise the Batista was friendly.

Very cool interiors with unique sandwich options — the menu changes weekly. Staff were extremely polite and patiently translated each item. Great coffee, though seating isn’t the most comfortable, but the aesthetic makes up for it.

We were lucky enough to meet with Chef Rhys who made our sandwiches. They were the best sandwiches we ever had. The locals flock to this architecturally inspired lunch shop. If you have the opportunity to eat here, do it, you will not be disappointed. The desserts were incredible as well. Note that the menu changes weekly. Always something new at this amazing little lunch restaurant.

My favourite spot in Lausanne 🤷🏻‍♂️ BY FAR! Each menu item is usually an absolute hit, the service is top notch, love the vibe of the interior, and all the glasses, metal plates, ceramics. Attention to detail 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 It’s a pity they’re only allowed 9 seats under the license. Awesome anyway!
Tomasz F — Google review
Quite an experience. The place is a cross between a hospital and a laboratory in terms of feel. Modernist, sparse and clean with only a few seats. The thing you are here for is not that vibe though, it’s for the menu. I went for breakfast, having a cortardo, a Kouign Amann, a V60 and a bun nature. All were superb, but especially notable were the V60 and the Kouign Amann. The V60 was smooth, calm, full of flavor without attacking the palette the way the acidity in coffee can sometimes do. The Kouign Amann (a delicacy from Breton) was just an amazing, buttery explosion of taste. Soft, sticky, chewy and delicious. So, if you are looking for something nice in Lausanne I can recommend this cafe without reservations.

Le Ticino - Restaurant Lausanne is a stylish and contemporary eatery located in the heart of Lutry. Formerly known as Hotel de Ville, this elegant establishment offers a variety of Italian dishes such as pizza, pasta, and polenta. The menu has recently been expanded to include burgers. With its sidewalk tables and terrace, guests can enjoy their meal in a pleasant outdoor setting. The restaurant is conveniently situated near Lausanne's train station, making it easily accessible for visitors.
Great food, the staff is so welcoming and friendly. Will return for sure The burger is tasty but not worth it. If you go there get some of the dishes or the chefs plat, really good !

Nice welcome from the boss. Waiter OK, pintade very nice, plenty of meat, ravioli a bit bland. On a chilly evening with not much to choose from it was pleasant. The waiter made it very plain that he expected to be tipped, rattl8ng his purse at me meaningfully, which I didn't appreciate, although I did tip. Since when I discover 5hat service charges are by law included in the bill. Guess I was too obviously a tourist.

(Translated by Google) Visiting for the second time The first time we had problems with the reservation (the reservation system was impractical), but my partner and I were still accepted (we had a makeshift table on the terrace at the time). This time, when we arrived, the fire pit wasn't ready (not to mention that everything seemed pretty basic, with no special work required). As soon as a dish was ready, customers would rush in (due to the delay, none of the meat/fish was cooked), which meant that the food seemed to arrive in dribs and drabs. Furthermore, there was a shortage of sauce ("the refill" arrived once everyone had finished eating...). The complimentary glass of champagne was replaced with a soft drink (which wasn't mentioned when I was given a brunch voucher last year). On the plus side, the food was quite good, and the welcome and staff were friendly and attentive. The option without the fire pit is better in every way. Advice: I put a ** on the atmosphere, my partner made the mistake of saying that we were coming for my birthday. Ask the person who made the reservation IF something should be done, because I HATE this kind of attention. Let's face it, it ruined everything.... a waiter allowed himself to say to me "not at all embarrassing..." as a joke, and first degree, he was absolutely right, it was THE funny thing in this situation, which for me was most uncomfortable and embarrassing.

Le Pain Quotidien is a popular spot with several locations in London. The staff is friendly and the menu offers clear vegetarian and vegan options, although some feel that more vegan choices would be beneficial. In Lausanne, the cozy atmosphere and delicious food make it a great stop for breakfast. While some found certain breads too sweet, overall the experience was delightful.
We had such a great time here! The staff are very kind and attentive. We definitely want to come back more often. Highly recommended!

I agree with the other guests: The service is very slow knowing that the café is only half full. The staff appear overwhelmed and disorganized. I like the food selection and the ambience is totally fine. The location right at the train station is perfect. The management needs to work on the processes and train the staff better. An idea would be to let guests order via QR code from their table. Maybe that gives staff more resources.

My girlfriend and I visited Le Pain Quotidien for breakfast on a Sunday morning. We knew the brand as there are quite a few of these restaurants in London so we thought we would give it a go. Staff were very nice and friendly and they spoke English. The food was good and the menu was clear with vegetarian & vegan options clearly marked. The main improvement opportunity would be around adding more vegan options which would definitely bring in more customers. Positive experience overall and will definitely go back.

I have just spent two months in Switzerland in a professional setting and it is with Laurent's team, head chef, that I spent all my dinners. Thanks to the charm of this traditional bistro where French music mixes and reunion between inhabitants of the neighborhood. The kitchen is traditional and sometimes more exotic (couscous, meat with coconut milk). Every evening two daily specials are offered on the slate at 17.50 francs and 19.50 francs, personally I did not need to open the menu for two months. The dishes are very varied based on fresh, generous, typically Swiss product, you feel at home! In summer, the small terrace located in a quiet street is very pleasant and refreshing. In winter, the charm of the bistro room is very warm. McDonald’s is a very decent place that offers the same services everywhere. You never expect anything more or else and that is why it is a frequent visit. Tried their Homestyle Honey Veggie Burger, it was decent but nothing particularly special. I also enjoy their Spicy McVeggie, which has a nice kick to it. My wife had some food on order from this place. She got a bit late at work and had to pick up little daughter from creche. Anyway, after running through half of the city she arrived 2 minutes after the closure. The employee saw her with the stroller and the little kid, smiled, waved and refused to give the order. All the food went to waste for somebody’s pride and lack of decency. Imagine what happens in the kitchen if they dare to treat customers like this in their face? Avoid, there are many other cozy places around.

I was served the nastiest cold brew I have ever tasted in my life. I was flabbergasted. When i came back to my senses, I politely mentioned to the barista that it did not taste anything like coffee. Without any care, he responded that I «didn’t know how it’s supposed to taste». At first I was offended, but in retrospection, he was right. I have never tasted dish water before so I wouldn’t know, although I assume this is what I just drank. 5,60 CHF! I feel like I was robbed.

McDonald’s is a guilty pleasure. So obviously I like the taste. The service was very friendly and they delivered it fast to the table. The downside for us was the cleanliness. We had to switch table twice because the floor was sticky or there was grease in the chairs. It contradicts the McDonald’s we usually go to in Köniz which is spotless clean.

Not a great over all experience. First, after sitting for approximately 10 minutes, our food had not been brought to the table. Then, an order was brought to us that we did not order. The employee took the tray back and I gave her the receipt. I followed her to the counter and a young girl with glasses and no name tag told me it was already delivered. After arguing a bit, she agreed to remake the meal. Another 15 minutes, and no food. I went back to the counter and talked to the same young girl again. She said the person taking out the trays of food could not find our table number and brought the food back. Another 5 minutes and our food was finally delivered, but cold. It doesn’t end there. After we finished, I went to the trash can to throw away the packaging. However, the trash can was full. I left our tray and packaging on the table for the staff to bus after they emptied the trash can. As I was leaving, an employee raised her voice to me for not clearing the table. By that time I was fed up with the location and walked out ignoring her. The crew needs to work on their customer service skills. The attitude runs from the management down. I’m not returning to this location.

The cafe Eva's Sandwich House offers delicious sandwiches and salads that are crafted using high-quality ingredients. The chef is known for his ability to create custom sandwiches tailored to your preferences, all made with care and passion. This establishment provides a great option for those seeking a healthy and fresh meal. Located directly across from the alpha palmiers hotel, it opens early at around 7 am. The croissants served here have received much acclaim, while one of the male staff members can communicate in basic English.
Eva's Sandwich House offers a delightful culinary experience, with incredibly delicious sandwiches and salads crafted from the freshest ingredients. Despite their simplicity, the flavours were robust and satisfactory. What sets Eva apart is not just their food, but also their warm and friendly service. Though they may communicate in simple English, their gestures exude genuine friendliness that enhances the dining experience. Moreover, their dedication to staying open when many other shops in the area are closed demonstrates their commitment to serving their customers. Overall, I appreciate Eva's Sandwich House for its delicious offerings and welcoming atmosphere.

Excellent sandwich – made fast, eaten even faster. The owner knows what you want the moment he sees you. No fuss, just top-notch food. And if you’re not sure what you want, don’t worry – he’ll know for you.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 Eva’s Sandwich House is an absolute gem in Lausanne! The sandwiches are hands down the best in town — fresh, flavorful, and made with real care. The coffee? Perfect. Smooth, rich, and just what you need to start (or recharge) your day. But what truly makes this place special is the atmosphere. Warm, welcoming, and personal — you really feel at home here. Eva and her team are genuinely lovely, and you can feel the heart they put into everything. Highly recommended for a casual lunch, coffee break, or just a cozy moment in the city. I’ll definitely be back!

Nice people, but terrible food for high prices. A very bad cappuccino, eggs without any salt or anything, an avocado not even cut... Very sad for 18.5 CHF. I should have eaten in migros instead for a much lower price

The Coffee Project™ is a small coffee shop located in the old town of Lausanne, offering a variety of specialty coffee options. The friendly barista is knowledgeable about their beans and can guide you through their selection, which includes single-origin beans from around the world. You can enjoy hot V60 pourover or iced coffee while immersing yourself in the cozy atmosphere created by self-proclaimed coffee geeks.
Highly recommended, they have a great specialty coffee and Greek pastries 🥮

Everyone. Go here. It’s so good. Authentic Greek, and there are gluten free options for people with wheat allergies or celiac. I had the chicken plate with potatoes and a tomato salad. It’s huge and delicious. It’s definitely a small venue, and your chances of getting a table will be slim. Coffee bar is legit, too. Go here!

We visited this very nice cafe on a day trip in Lausanne. The service was really good and fast. The coffee was very well prepared and the snacks are very tasty. We will definitely visit again and I do recommend you to get out of your way and try it.

We ordered coffee + matcha latte and we were delighted with what we got. Very flavorful and yummy! Highly recommended. Very kind, patient, and professional staff. They offer a variety of drink options and cakes. It is a cosy place but it is not too big. Reasonable prices for the high quality they offer. Overall, very recommended!

Great chicken gyros; I shared a portion with my daughter and we both enjoyed them very much. Nice location with views down to the lake
Nick K — Google review
We loved it :) it’s mostly takeout, they only have a table for four inside, but the food was really nice. The pork is better than the chicken imo. The Greek poke bowl was hearty and felt healthy.
Eewei S — Google review
Always been a Greek food fan and more specifically, the infamous Greek Souvlaki. Impressive Chicken souvlaki right here in Lausanne. They only do chicken or pork so I tried both. Bread was authentic and the fillings were well balanced with sauce chicken and good amount of meat. Only thing I could say to make it perfect would be more tzatziki sauce inside. That’s just my preference. 5 stars given coz the proprietors I assume were so nice and friendly and gave me a side of sauce FOC. The iced coffee and cappuccino were unique as well and I ordered a side of fries which were well seasoned Greek style. Good job guys

Fleur de Pains is a tea house that offers excellent value for the price. It is a lovely spot to enjoy a mid-morning meal. The only drawback is the limited outdoor seating, which could be improved. Nonetheless, the overall experience at Fleur de Pains is delightful and worth considering for those seeking an enjoyable brunch spot.
This bakery is a hidden gem! The pastries are fresh, perfectly baked, and bursting with flavor. Their bread has a delightful crust and soft interior, while the cakes are moist and beautifully decorated. The staff is friendly and attentive, making the entire experience warm and inviting. Fleur de Pains is a delightful little haven that surprised two early-morning travelers looking for a cozy spot to relax while waiting for their bus. They enjoyed delicious, freshly baked pies—apple and apricot—that were simply divine. The warm hospitality from the staff added to the charm of this hidden gem. While it could benefit from some updates like wall art, more greenery, and modern amenities such as plug-ins and milk alternatives, the quality of food shines through.

Awesome place with great coffee and weekend brunches. The only weakpoint of this café, based on my single visit, is that it is so popular, that the staff can't manage to serve customers in a reasonable time when it got crowded in the morning (the delicious pancakes took about 40 mins to make). I still very much recommend to give this café a visit.

A lovely little café out of the way. The prices are Swiss but the food is of good quality. They care about vegetarian options and food intolerances. The service is very nice. The atmosphere is nice: the decor is well designed but it drafts (I was there on cold days) and the music is intrusive: in the morning there should be classical or smooth jazz and not some so-called RnB played too loud. I will come again but with an extra jacket and not sit under the speaker ;-)
