Nestled in the heart of nature, Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge offers a seasonal escape with comfortable accommodations and on-site dining options. Guests can enjoy various excursions and relax in hot tubs while taking in the breathtaking surroundings. For a unique wilderness experience, visitors can opt for a stay at a backcountry lodge within the park, such as the historic Kantishna Roadhouse located 90 miles inside the park.
Fun place with lots of options. We were happy being placed in the Wolf’s area. The property was beautiful. They have a great deck to hang out on with views of mountains and the river. Our room was on the second floor, (the building had no elevator), my traversing the stairs was a bit challenging since my knees hurt from getting up from such low chairs and restrooms, and all the time squashed in on the plane. The room had more modern two full sized beds. The bathroom area is a bit small. The restaurant served good food but was very pricey. We wouldn’t have eaten there at all but we had the meal plan. Service was spotty. No one seemed to enjoy their jobs.
Starfire T — Google review
Everything about the place is great except they offer no free food or coffee for breakfast at all everything costs and it can be expensive buffet breakfast $25. Want a cold breakfast $21! There is a coffee shop that sells other items so it does get a little cheaper but I don't get when spending the money I would think they could have a small cold offering for guests. The staff are awesome, the location is great, the hotel is clean and well kept everything in the area is walkable but the hotel does have a shuttle that runs around all day and easy to catch.
Clark B — Google review
Location is perfect for Denali entry with free shuttle running all day. Grounds are pretty with a nice walking path along the river. Dining options were diverse and additional options across the highway within walking distance. Rooms were clean and comfortable but bathroom could use a shelf or hooks to put your clothes on.
Barb K — Google review
Great views. Comfortable beds and pillows. The smoke detector kept making noises when we arrived. I texted the front desk and Enyah sent maintenance right away and they put batteries. All the staff at the Grizzly Burger was very nice. The burgers, the crab cake burger, and the chicken sandwich were good. The fried cheese curds are good and the portion is for 4 people. Lots of shops with beautiful items. Loved the carved bears and Moose with their funny signs. Shipping is included on the price. Great location with walking distance to some beautiful hikes. Rooms are a little outdated, and the bathroom was always cold.
Maribel A — Google review
Wow! This place is like a small village. Huge lodge with rows and rows of 2 story motel style structures. Our room had a lodge like decor, but modern convenience and clean. The rows of rooms are spaced nicely and the grounds are landscaped beautifully. There are cute little displays, community firepits, a burger place, and a full service upscale restaurant. Again very busy so waits for tables were a bit longer. Our server was quite a bit slower than others. We saw several tables come and go during our visit. We were advised that our multi meat burgers needed to be cooked well but we're served medium. Server never returned to our table till we were done. We took our chances, it tasted great and we lived to tell about it! Amazing trails to hike across the river, but it's about a 20 minute walk along the highway to the trailhead. As with the rest of our trip the transfer of baggage was very efficient. Overall a great experience.
Pete Z — Google review
Overall the lodge is an ok place to stay. It’s 90% catered to the cruisers but the convenience of the free shuttles and proximity to the park and the train are worth it. The restaurants on site are nothing to rave about. Food taste was ok and some food was soggy but the service was fast. My main issue was the room cleanliness. The room was visually “clean” but dusty. The bathroom had a mildew smell and mold/mildew on the window edges, the shower is not ventilated well (didn’t realize it until the last day). We had family in the room next to us and had the same issue. I get that it’s the end of the season but I would expect cleanliness to be consistent the whole season. The lodge grounds are very pretty and good for a morning or evening walk. It’s quiet and relaxing and we enjoyed the fire pits in the chilly evening.
DinoMarc — Google review
The hotel is pleasant and the room we had was comfortable and big. There are a number of restaurants with lots of variety. Locally there’s quite a few businesses for excursions, eating and provisions. Denali National Park is nearby and there are shuttle buses to there.
Stuart W — Google review
Room are dated the one we stayed in didn't have a good thermostat it was either hot or cold. Its a beautiful location with plenty of food options and close to the park. The resort has a free shuttle to the park the run every 30 minutes.

Resort hotel
Hotel
The McKinley Chalet Resort is a stylish wilderness lodge offering high-end accommodations with a restaurant, pub, and shuttle service to Denali Park. It's one of the limited options for lodging in the small town near Denali National Park. The resort offers nice rooms and great service, although some guests have mentioned that the rooms could use a small refrigerator and may feel a bit dated. Despite this, the overall atmosphere of the property is described as wonderful.
We stayed at the Denali Lodge following our Holland America Cruise. Just like on the cruise, the customer service was excellent. The food at the Lodge was similar to the cruise. The rooms were simple but spacious. There was a bedroom and a sitting room. The grounds were beautiful. Lots of room to walk and explore.
Coleen S — Google review
I know it came with the cruise/land package and that Holland America owns the resort. Our room has 2 beds and one was a single and was as bouncy as a trampoline as well as leans, so I kept waking up almost off the bed. The kids room has a crack in the front door and so doesn't feel real secure. The restaurants in the lobby seemed nice didn't eat there. Very very pricey even by Alaskan standards.
Jeffrey H — Google review
This hotel in Denali Nat'l park is a delight. Instead of a high rise they built a series of small buildings nestled among the trees. The room was quite comfortable, the food in the restaurants was good, and the location is perfect. It is owned by Holland America but you don't have to be on one of their tours to stay there.
Michael S — Google review
We were depended guests and booked online and not part of the cruise tours. The view from outside and inside my room was gorgeous but keep reading below. The food and service are very good but for the price charged for the room (over $350 per night-no breakfast) the rooms are very dated and need a makeover very badly.. From the 70/80s. When you arrive all the room doors are open…. i guess to air them out and the windows do not lock. The bad part is if it’s 32 degrees the room is ice cold when you arrive because house keeping leaves all the doors open until Occupied. No heater is on. I would expect better room quality from Princess/Holland America. They need to remodel all the rooms with new furniture, bathrooms, carpet and tile the floors plus paint. The location of this hotel is perfect and and in a beautiful valley. Easy to get to Denali Park or be picked up by the National Park Service tours. The actual property/lobby is very open and comfortable. The show Music of Denali was fun and the food good served family style.
Christopher C — Google review
Old rooms, low amenities, poor quality over all. Stayed in canyon lodge, no reception, no coffee, rooms are very worn and dated. Rooms were very hot even though it was sub 50 degrees outside. No safe, little storage, poor room layout. Room quality was 2 star at best. Overall just felt like a cheap motel experience vs a resort.
Justin T — Google review
We recently stayed in one of the rooms in buildings O and P, and while the room itself was clean and comfortable, there were a few things that really took away from the experience. The bathroom fans were incredibly loud—so much so that it was hard to think while they were running. It felt more disruptive than helpful. Additionally, the rooms didn’t have ceiling fans or air conditioning. While we understand it’s Alaska and the temperature was around 62°F, there was no way to circulate the air, which made the room feel a bit stuffy. We also tried the on-site restaurants, but unfortunately found the food to be lacking in flavor. The service staff seemed overwhelmed and stressed, which made the dining experience feel rushed. It definitely seemed like they needed more help to keep up with demand. Overall, a beautiful location with potential—but a few key improvements could really enhance the stay
Vanessa A — Google review
Spectacular view and accommodations. Laundry is available. The Denali Village is lovely. The river walk is calming. Shuttles run around the property every 10-15 minutes. Dining options are very good. Walkable to the boardwalk. Rooms are very clean. You can control the temp using an overhead fan. I would definitely stay here again.
Ann S — Google review
The rooms were okay. Bedspread was tired looking even though it was constantly in bed. The phone didn't work, and there's no service desk on site. We ordered a pizza, waited 3 hours, being told it was coming, and by the time they said it wouldn't arrive, the dining room had closed. At least 10 other people didn't get pizza that was ordered at 8pm. Very disappointed in this experience. Big letdown.

Hotel
Nestled in the mountainside near the entrance of Denali National Park, Denali Bluffs Hotel offers a cozy retreat with 176 rooms spread across forested buildings. The hotel provides a convenient shuttle service and complimentary Wi-Fi for guests. While some visitors have noted issues with hot water and additional fees, others have raved about the breathtaking views from spacious corner rooms with wrap-around decks.
located just above shops, easy 5-10 mins down hill from The Bluffs. Free shuttle from here to railway depot. Does drop and pick up from here The Grand, bottom of hill near shops and the depot. Jayden, Josh & Kate were very helpful and offered suggestions about things to do on our short time here. Highly recommend
Alison C — Google review
Very, very mediocre. And for the price, one would expect MUCH better accommodations. The room was small and had a very low ceiling making it feel even smaller that it is. The bathroom smelled like mold: there are only a few rooms with a view. Lower your expectations and you will be ok. Lower them a lot and try not to compare this place to a $400 a night hotel in the lower 48 or Europe. Every so often there was a horrific sewage smell.
A A — Google review
Beautiful location. Lots of stairs. Be sure to specify handicap issues, and the staff will make accommodations. If you order a sandwich for Wilderness Tour. Order one and share. $22 for one sandwich.
C. C — Google review
Rooms are a little on small side for 4 adults. Breakfast selection (need to pay) was very limited. Restaurant was good.
David L — Google review
The “deluxe” room was clean and nice. Location is midway up a hillside with beautiful views of the valley. For the services and amenities, the price seems expensive though.
Aaron B — Google review
Expecting more. The pictures don't match. Building #10 old and needs updating. Bed is saggy. Staff has been very nice. I was hoping for a way better view.
Linda G — Google review
Would stay here again. Rooms were great and it was a fabulous location. Loved the shuttle service.
Kathy B — Google review
This was a clean, well run hotel with *amazing* views and very friendly and helpful staff. The room was perfectly fine, but the mattresses and linens were very basic. Dinner at the Mountaineer Grill and Bar was lovely, and The Perky Moose made an amazing latte for me each morning. The cafe also had plenty of grab and go foods (instant oatmeal, frozen breakfast sandwiches) as well as bagels. The shuttle was extremely helpful, and the drivers were flexible - the shuttle follows a set route, but they made minor accommodations for guests several times.

Hotel
Nestled on a secluded hilltop, Grande Denali Lodge offers rustic accommodations with stunning wilderness views. The lodge provides free Wi-Fi and features a relaxed restaurant for guests to enjoy. While the property is located in a small town with limited accommodation options, it stands out as one of the recommended places to stay near Denali National Park.
Great views, adequate lodging, easy access to transportation, excursions, and things to do. Reataurant is not good at all but what can you expect for a hotel in the middle of nowhere?
H D — Google review
Nice large and updated rooms overlooking the Denali NP area. The hotel shuttle and drivers are wonderful for getting into the town, to the train station and national park. Hotel desk "day staff" did not make us feel welcome; however the desk night staff was excellent. Restaurant is overpriced with moderate/low quality. There are no moderately priced dining options on the premises. Take the shuttle into town for some excellent food options.
Gaylene M — Google review
Great location. Rooms are looking weathered. Our room door looked like it was kicked in once and all the cold air is coming through the sides and bottom. Room definitely not secure. Shuttle bus was roomie and had great drivers but run every 40 minutes which means you could be standing in the rain a long time. Snack/coffee stand is a mess. Young lady had no information about any of the items for sale, which wasn't many, and didn't take her barista skills seriously. For the price, I will find somewhere else to go next time. Dinner at the lodge was good at best. It had a limited menu and was quite expensive.
Bill F — Google review
Good room, good service, reasonable prices for the area. I gave rooms 3 stars for my comfort reasons (no glasses in bathroom; no guide for TV) Minor things, but they increase comfortability.
Tim K — Google review
Great hotel with a view. Food was fair, but very overpriced. Room was better than expected. Bathroom sink was not good, no counter space. Water in shower was set so that you could not have a "hot" shower. I was freezing after being out in 40 degree weather all day. Cute signs coming up the driveway to the hotel. Nice place to take scenery pics.
Kimmy K — Google review
The positive for this hotel is the spectacular view from the bar and restaurant. Food was good but at a premium price. The negatives are many : accessibility is difficult , you can only take the shuttle every hour and all your activities will have to be planned around it. The hotel being so high up a steep mountain doesn’t help at all. House keeping in the rooms are very mediocre , we stayed there for 3 days and the room was not done even a single day. The day we arrived a room was allocated to us which was not cleaned at all , had to complain and then we were given a different room.
Shibani N — Google review
I should have read the negative reviews more closely before booking. Pros: Beautiful view. Good sized room. Cons: - All of the room fixtures are contractor grade and even then not all that well maintained. - The shuttle service is inadequate. They have a couple of older mini buses with only one usually in service. The pick ups are hourly and probably a third of the time there isn't room for all of those who are waiting. Additionally, you have to travel up a poorly maintained road so that after a few trips you feel like your insides are going to rattle apart. - The service is lacking. If you want your room serviced you have to ask and they remind you to "be sure and leave a tip." When our bus arrived they had one person working the front desk, almost as if they didn't realize we were coming. When the water ran out for almost a day (no showers / no toilet) they made no offers to compensate us. They did provide bottled water if we asked. I complained enough they finally gave me a 25% discount for that one day. - HIGH PRICES! We had to pay an extra $60 to have us and our luggage shuttled from the train station. An above average breakfast buffet is $33 per person. A grab and go sandwich is $14. You get the idea. All this with a $400 a night room. If you are going to Denali I highly recommend staying in one of the hotels near the village. You can easily walk to the village. The shuttle to the park is a nice new full size bus. The food options are far more varied and better prices. (Yes, food is expensive in Alaska, but the Grand Denali is ridiculous.) Also, the views are great from virtually anywhere.
Ronnie M — Google review
The Grande Denali lodge is an average hotel. The rooms are similar to a Holiday Inn Express or Best Western. For $ 500 a night you would expect much better. The beds are good/comfortable. The view is great. As you are way up on the mountain, you have no other food/meal options. So, I guess they feel they can take advantage of that. They want $31 for a breakfast buffet. There is no lunch option available. The dinner option is good. The front desk staff is indifferent. We asked them for a wakeup call if the northern lights were out. They were and they did not call. So, we missed them lights. They only have one small shuttle bus which runs on a one-hour loop. Several times the bus was full and the driver had to leave people waiting at the stop. They do not service your room during the entire stay. We had to ask for additional toilet paper, coffee and Kleenex. Even so, they had a QR code you could scan to leave the staff a tip??? All in all. They know there is not much competition and they take advantage of that fact.

Resort hotel
Nestled in a wooded area, Denali Grizzly Bear Resort offers a rustic escape with comfortable rooms and private cabins boasting scenic river views. While lacking a restaurant, the resort compensates with a small store, gift shop, and food trucks. Situated near the entrance of Denali National Park, it provides an affordable option for camping close to nature. Guests can enjoy watching trains pass by from their rooms and appreciate the helpfulness of the staff at the front desk.
We booked a Land Tour after our cruise through NCL and they had hotel reservations for us at Denali Grizzly Bear Resort. We were on the second floor and had outside open stairs to go up but thankfully they had already put our bags in the room for us. (No elevator that we saw). The rooms were spacious with high ceilings and a log cabin / Lodge feel. There were two food trucks out in front of the hotel but we opted to walk across the highway to Denali Park Village and had dinner at the Gold Rush Restaurant, which was one of our best meals on the 11 day trip! We had a small balcony with a couple of chairs and a sliding glass door that overlooked a rushing river behind a small wooded area. The bathroom was spacious and although not a dedicated closet, there was an area with a bar to hang clothes up next to the outside wall. We had a room with two beds and they seemed comfortable. There was not a refrigerator in the room but we did find an ice machine to cool down our drinks. We only spent one night but the room was clean and comfortable.
Sandy A — Google review
It's a decent spot near the Denali National Park. The room we had did not have a microwave or fridge, but we did have cable TV and drip coffee. The general store has everything you need to use the laundry facilities and they have decent food trucks on site. The only things I think of to improve guest experiences would be better black out curtains and to partner with the Park and offer Park passes on discount for guests.
Kat — Google review
Great location. 3 of us sharing 2 double beds. Shower had very slow drain. Had to stand in water. Adopted scarcity mindset, since shampoo, soap and conditioner were in short supply. After 1 shower, 2” diameter bar soap thinned to skinny, soggy mess. Shower head was weak. Better quality, more plentiful toiletries, a plunged shower drain, and a better shower head would significantly improve the room. The location is great and the rustic style is charming.
Steve P — Google review
Nice place. Clean for the most part. Disappointed there are no refrigerator, especially for the price. And only 30 minutes of free wi-fi. There is no AC, but not uncommon for the area, and with the sliding glass door open, it stayed cool in the room at night. Fortunately I had a travel fan. It would have been better in the evening if the resort had fans. My room was over looking the river. And the bed was very comfortable. ****There is a train that went through several times in the evening blowing their horn.
Cassandra B — Google review
Our room had an amazing river view with a mountain backdrop, you could see the Alaskan railroad trains passing along the mountain ridge. The room itself was decent. Beds were okay pillows were so so. Average cleanliness.
Drew S — Google review
My Alaska trip was part of a tour group with Holiday vacations and this was one of our favorite hotels. The back decks with a view - you can't beat that. We had a beautiful day to sit outside into the evening. Rooms were cozy and spacious.
Aubrey U — Google review
Rooms were ok, any bugs could enter from a crack between the door and the doorframe at the top. Service was okay. Our room was not ready when we arrived at 4pm. Location was beautiful, had a creek running along the backside.
Kathleen G — Google review
Overall great stay at the property, smooth in and out, great location and facilities. Not luxury but certainly comfortable for family with such close proximity to the park, cannot ask for more. We had a good time overall and definitely will recommend.

EarthSong Lodge & Denali Dog Sled Expeditions offers cozy log cabins with a rustic feel and an on-site coffeehouse. In the winter, guests can enjoy dog sledding expeditions through the snowy trails and breathtaking views of Denali National Park. The lodge is conveniently located just 15 minutes from the park entrance, providing easy access to the natural beauty of the area. Co-owner John, a former park ranger, provides valuable insights and hosts tours of the dog kennels.
We just stayed at Earthsong in July of 2024. The place is fantastic. We would highly recommend it. Our cabin was awesome. It was spotless and very comfortable and the views are fantastic. The property manager Tye, was friendly, always easy to talk to and was always around to be sure we had everything we need. The cafe was a big plus for us because of the added convenience of having a great breakfast before heading out to Denali, and grabbing a great box lunch to take on our day trips. We had a great stay and would definitely stay there again!

Perfect spot if you have your own wheels and are staying in the Denali area. Nothing fancy but we thought the cabin was cozy and romantic 😊

Room is clean and nice. Love the decors! Internet was unstable initially but got better later at night. The only thing is you can’t park in front of the lodge(Not a good combination with rain).
J F — Google review
Quirky property with tiny cabins. Liked that the cabins had two separate bedrooms. No kitchen, cooking facilities. Setting beautiful. No dog sledding operation. Liked that they have an on-site cafe/coffeeshop.
Trevor H — Google review
Great stay at Earthsong. Cabins are very nice (no TVs and not wifi inside the cabins, though some wifi on property) and the area is super quiet with beautiful views. It's a 25 minute drive to Denali park with plenty of opportunities to encounter Moose along the way (more so than inside the park). Totally worth staying here if you're looking to disconnect in a beautiful place. Ty and the staff are wonderful which adds to the experience.
Tom G — Google review
Great location and service. Comfortable and yet rustic accommodations. Close to Denali attractions.
Sergey A — Google review
Earthsong was a great place to stay near Denali Park. The best part, hands down, is the sled dog meet and greet, which happens each morning. Cora the manager gives a really informative and friendly presentation, and you get to play with dogs for as long as you want. The overall vibe is rustic cabin, but everything was clean and functional. Its off the beaten track a bit, so its about a 10-20 minute drive to real food and restaurant options. But they do have a cafe on site that sells coffee and pastries in the morning. Just FYI, the cell phone service and even the wifi is not robust.
Alex M — Google review
Spent two nights here while we toured the Denali area. We stayed in a two room cabin. The cabin was tight with four of us + luggage, but we're family so we made it work. The heat worked exceptionally well in both rooms. Be careful about turning it up too high - you might wake up in the middle of the night and need to shut it off! Our cabin did not have a refrigerator or microwave. There are common use ones located near the parking lot. That didn't bother us at all, just be aware! Shower had plenty of hot water and pressure was great. The view from the property is amazing. We woke up each morning and took a short walk across the road to enjoy the mountains and quietness of the area. The coffeehouse had great breakfast sandwiches and hot coffee in the morning. That was definitely a plus! Unfortunately we did not get to interact with Jon and Karin during our stay, or get to meet the sled dogs. But we felt right at home. We'd love to come back and enjoy their hospitality again sometime!

Accessible only by helicopter, this lodge provides an exclusive and secluded retreat, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the park. The limited spa services add a touch of luxury to the backcountry setting.
The place was beautiful. All the people working there were friendly, informative, and fun. The food was fresh, plentiful, and very good. There is a huge lodge area with a lot of warm sitting areas. Many easy and casual trails to very challenging ones. We met a lot of great people from all parts of the USA. The bus trip is a little long, but we saw several Bears, Moose, Sheep, and even a fox with a little Denali critter burrito.

We had an amazing trip. the lodge is in the backcountry of denali and is only accessible by helicopter so it felt like we had the park all to ourselves. when we got there we were met with welcoming staff, great service, clean rooms and great food. everyone here was so nice and welcoming and made the experience feel very personal. there were many activities to choose from including bike rides, hikes, kayaks, etc. there’s also a great private sauna. it was an amazing way to experience denali national park. It was an unforgettable trip that i would absolutely recommend.

This was the best vacation experience I have ever had. From the helicopter ride out to the lodge, to Nova's excellent management and communication with us, to the guided hikes by our knowledgeable on-site naturalists who also provided nightly educational programs about the flora and fauna, park history, and the landslide which closed the park road. The food was amazing. The scenery was unmatched. Every detail of every need was exceeded beyond our expectations. This was the best part of Alaska!!
Karen H — Google review
The staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The bus ride in offered plenty of wildlife from bears to elk. The hikes were accurately rated with something for everyone. The food was buffet for breakfast and lunch with a lot of healthy options to keep you fueled all day. The dinner options had plenty of tasty options including a vegetarian option. I would definitely recommend this for anyone looking to get outdoors or just relax by the river. There really was something for everyone and the visual beauty was amazing.

Great place to enjoy nature. Quiet, serene, beautiful scenery and wonderful staff. I took hikes with Sebastian, Valerie and Daniel and all were articulate, knowledgeable, interesting and made the journey fun and educational. The evening talks were presented very well and I learned a lot. We saw a lot of wildlife going in and out of the 92.5 mile road including bears, moose, beaver, eagles, caribou, Dall sheep, and ptarmigan. The food was very good and the staff was attentive for anything we needed.
Jodi S — Google review
This lodge earns its high ratings. The facilities are well maintained and, despite abundant mud, quite clean. The ride in seems long, but is punctuated by interesting historical facts, stories, and wildlife sightings. The meals were fresh and of good variety for varied diets. Breakfast and lunch are served buffet style; dinner offers three options. Nightly desserts are as large as they are delicious. There is no shortage of things to do for many tastes and ability levels. The staff are cheerful, energetic, and very helpful. Bring a full set of rain gear and no day will be spoiled.

Our 2 night trip to Denali Backcountry Lodge was magical! We were there over Labor Day weekend, a week before the end of the season, and the fall colors were gorgeous! The resort location is beautiful, set on a creek, with a casual/comfortable vibe. All the staff were relaxed and took great care of the guests. Everything is inclusive (except the bar). The cabins were comfortable, but we didn't spend much time in ours. There were so many options for activities and relaxation our day was full! Hiking, mountain biking, local history tours, ranger talks, new saunas, panning for gold, board games in the lodge, beautiful views from the deck were just some of the activities we experienced during our 36 hours at the resort. The staff went out of their way to ensure all the guests had a chance to shuttle to a nearby lake to see the alpenglow on Denali at sunset. We were very fortunate to see Denali "out" one afternoon/evening and the next morning. Food is good too, including good options for vegetarians. The bus ride in and out is long (5+ hours each way) but we saw bears, moose, caribou, Dahl sheep, and stunning views both ways. The bus drivers were very knowledgeable and accommodating to the guests, and stop every 1.5 hours. You definitely need a minimum of 2 nights which only gives you 1 full day to enjoy the resort. We definitely would stay longer next time. Thanks to all the staff for an amazing experience!

This is a wonderful destination! The staff is top notch! The activities they offer hit everything from a very technical hike to fly fishing off the dock. The food was delicious with large servings. The bus ride in and out are an extra opportunity to see Denali park and all of the amazing wildlife.

Carlo Creek Cabins is a serene riverside lodge that has been family-owned and operated since 1959. Nestled just 13 miles south of Denali National Park, it offers no-frills handcrafted log cabins with stunning mountain views. The property spans 32 acres and is surrounded by nature, with Carlo Creek winding through the grounds.
Nestled amidst mountains all around and the beautiful Carlo creek flowing by, Carlo Creek Cabins is situated in a scenic location, and a perfect getaway. It is only a 15 minutes drive away from Denali National Park and there are two restaurants in walking distance apart from a in-house coffee and sandwich joint. We stayed in the cabin with the attached bathroom and it had enough room for 4 adults. The bathroom had running hot water and we also had drip coffee in the room. We loved our stay here!

Great stay in a beautiful area! We were in cabin 1, which is closest to the highway. There was some road noise, but wasn't too bothersome. I felt like I had been transported back to overnight camp when I opened the door to the cabin - but in a good way! The bathroom was large and well stocked. My only complaint is that a few extra towels would be nice. There was a full kitchen, but we were just there for one night, so we didn't make use of it. From what I could tell, it looked to have whatever pots and pans you would need to make a meal. It's a great choice in the Denali area - it's just a bit south of the park, but an easy drive.

Just an amazing place to stay when visiting Denali! Truly enjoyed my recent stay and will definitely book again if coming back up. I stayed in two different cabins, so got the experience most of what they offer. The lettered cabins were amazing and the shower/bathroom house wasn't an issue at all. For one, they were clean, convenient and easy to use, just steps from your cabin. And then I stayed in Cabin 4 with an awesome view of the creek right out the window. All the employees were very friendly, welcoming and so accommodating. Loved the laundry machines on site and all the amenities. But most of all, it was peaceful. So glad I booked here and was far away from the craziness of some of the larger places up north. It was so quiet here and loved all the views of the surrounding mountains. Plus, you are just a few steps away from several food options. On site they have the little breakfast/lunch cafe and across the street two great dinner options. Loved Panorama Pizza Pub for the killer pizzas and downhome pub feel. Tammie and Dan are doing amazing things here and truly appreciate your business. I stay at a lot of national parks and western tourist areas and this is in my top 5 of best places in the US to stay!

My husband and I spent two nights at Carlo Creek Cabins and it was one of the most beautiful and memorable experiences of our trip. The location is absolutely perfect, peaceful and nestled in nature, yet conveniently close to the Denali National Park entrance. The cabins themselves are charming, clean, and feel wonderfully authentic. You can really tell that a lot of thought and care has gone into creating a space where guests can relax and connect with the surroundings. We had the pleasure to meet Tammie as soon as we arrived. She gave us such a warm and genuine welcome. It’s clear that she and her husband Dan are deeply committed to ensuring guests have the best experience possible. Their passion and hospitality truly made us feel at home. We highly recommend Carlo Creek Cabins to anyone visiting Denali, you won't be disappointed. Thank you Tammie and Dan : )

This place is a great value: the cabin was cozy, the bed comfy and the bathhouses tidy and warm. The owners are friendly, attentive and helpful. The staff keeps the bathrooms and showers clean. We were there early June and were impressed with the quiet. Three great food options within walking distance.

Astoundingly beautiful location. We were in a cabin with a bathroom, and our cabin was clean and comfortable. Some other rooms use the shared showers and bathrooms. There is coin-operated laundry available. There is no cooling system in the cabins— only heat. Vicky is an absolute joy to chat with. Thanks, y’all!

This was a nice stay about 12-13 miles outside of Denali. We enjoyed the little cabin. It had a refrigerator with a freezer and microwave. There is no oven or cooktop. We thought there would be some utensils or dishes and there were not any. The staff were very helpful.

This place has very clean and quiet cabins made of wood. The air conditioning is great and warm! There is a laundry and shower station in a separate building that is very close to your cabin and the bathrooms are cleaned daily. There would be a cafe that would open on 6/1/2025 and it looks very good. Definitely a 5 star!

Camp Denali, a renowned lodge in Kantishna, offers a backcountry experience with comfortable cabins that blend seamlessly into the natural surroundings. It's like luxury camping with gourmet meals, guided hikes, and stunning views of the mountain. The lodge accommodates around 38 guests and is accessible only by air, providing an up-close flight tour above the Alaska Range as an introduction to Denali National Park.
Camp Denali is simply the best place to stay if you want to visit Denali National Park. (And visiting the Park is wonderful). The Camp is family-run, and it shows. Everything is well run, and the staff is amazing. The hikes are beyond description. And because of the naturalist guides, you can safely experience the wonderful scenery and wildlife. Most people who visit the Park stay outside, and ride in and out on buses on about 40 miles of Park road. The experience at Camp, which is 90 miles inside the Park is so very different. It is expensive - but worth every nickel. I've been there about 8 times over the last 25 years, and look forward to returning. It's my favorite place on the planet.
Carol M — Google review
I stayed at camp with my wife and 10 year old son in July of 2024. The experience was the best in our two weeks in Alaska. There is a magic in this place that traces back to the founder's commitment to experiential learning and environmental stewardship. My son was the only child in the group and the staff made an extra effort to learn about his interests and engage with him. I dream of going back daily. And this isn't advertised: Camp Denali has special concessioner status that the other lodges in Kantishna don't have. This allows them to drive along the Denali Park Road and guide hikes within the original park boundaries (Wonder Lake area and along park road). The other lodges cannot guide within the original park boundaries. Additionally, there no views of Denali from the other lodges which are situated in much lower lying areas.
Kenyon W — Google review
My wife and I spent our 20th anniversary here. If you are going to stay near Kantishna in one of the lodges, and your goal is to experience the Mountains and wildlife of Denali NP, this is by far the best choice. There is a view of Denali from each cabin. The food was outstanding. The naturalists know their stuff and greatly enhanced our outings. They staff were beyond kind and made us feel very welcome. I believe this is also the only lodge that currently has access to drive vehicles on the back 60 miles beyond the landslide. We were able to access parts of the park others weren’t. During this time of the road closure there is a magical window where the Western park is nearly empty of people. We saw more bears than other people on all of our outings. If your goal is to experience the wilderness of Denali NP with a luxury cabin experience, I can’t recommend Camp Denali highly enough.

There is a place . . . Camp Denali is hands down the best off the grid lodging experience I’ve encountered. I’ve had the privilege of staying in a number of very special places, particularly those that require a plane, boat, or hike to get to. From the coordination to the hospitality to the cabins, to the guided hikes, to the delicious food, this is worthy every penny (and it does cost a few pennies). Jenna and Simon and their team are incredibly gracious, kind, and thoughtful. My son and I will treasure the memories of Camp Denali the rest of our lives, and I plan to return BEFORE the road reopens. We enjoyed amazing wildlife, and peeks at Denali. Our fellow guests were just delightful also. Thanks again Camp Denali for an amazing stay!

We recently booked Camp Denali for one of our solo travelers and it was an amazing experience, for both us and the traveler. She described her stay there as a "whole experience" and actually rated her stay a 12 out of 10. She said she felt like the experience was "just for us". The food was outstanding. Everything was well-organized. The one thing that she absolutely raved about was the plane ride in to the camp. She said it was the "most amazing experience". We truly look forward to booking with them again.

The best way to see the Denali National Park backcountry. 19 luxurious hand built wood cabins each with their own wood stove and view of Denali. Gourmet meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Guided hikes each day provide outstanding views and lots of wildlife viewing. The small plane fly in was unique and spectacular. When we were there in August there were only 24 guests, so it was like having the entire national park to yourself. Staff and the other guests were a large part of the trip's charm. One of the most special and unique trips I have ever taken. It made memories for a lifetime.
Rich H — Google review
Camp Denali is an incredible experience. Since the outdoor lodge is no longer accessible by the 90 some mile Denali National Park road, it is fly in only. This means your first introduction to the park is an up close and personal flight seeing tour above the Alaska range. "A spot of hospitality in the middle of the tundra" as previous owner Wally Cole would say. You stay in you own cabin with your very own outhouse with meals and presentations in the central Potlatch building and original lodge. It is the perfect balance of roughing it, challenging yourself and being spoiled rotten. The food is exquisite being intentionally sourced and prepared with expertise. The views you get here are like no where else you can stay in the park with a clear panoramic view of the Alaskan range, Denali its shining star. The staff are wonderful, all so knowledgeable and kind. As a guest you feel welcomed into the small community that calls Camp Denali home for the summer season but some for as many as 40. A place to go for a once in a life time opportunity to connect with nature, experience true wilderness and learn about this incredible place. A place to return to year after year.

Spent a memorable week here a few years ago, and it left a lasting impression! What a special place! Everything was perfect. The staff were top notch: friendly and knowledgeable. The food was delicious, the gear available for activities was great (hiking poles, rain gear, etc.). The cabins are so cool! Just you, a hot kettle, wood fire stove, a bed and a view. Even your own personal outhouse set in a private location right near your cabin - mine had a view of Denali! Loved the small group hiking with a skilled naturalist- it felt like having your personal David Attenborough along with you! Evening offered optional interesting presentations, such as a slideshow and lecture by a local ornithologist. I was fortunate to have had someone else pay, as it’s not inexpensive, and would absolutely jump at another opportunity to ever return to such a magical place.

Tonglen Lake Lodge offers a wonderful experience just outside Denali National Park. Guests can choose between the comfortable Cottonwood Cabin and the guest house for their stay. The lodge's location is beautiful, especially during the fall when the leaves change around the lake. The Artisan cafe on site provides a delightful place to relax, while the fire pit surrounded by swing benches is perfect for evening gatherings and making s'mores.
Beautiful location. extraordinary meals, close to the entrance to Denali National Park. Many scheduled activities, and staff will help to coordinate tours.

We just returned from our stay at Tonglen Lake Lodge. It was the last stop on our Alaska trip and was by far the highlight. Our cabin was so comfortable and cozy and the unlimited access to snacks, drinks and delicious meals was incredible. It was really a treat to feel so cared for. The staff really go out of their way to create an incredible atmosphere. I also loved how every aspect of the facility was clearly well thought out to reflect the unique environment of Alaska. The whole resort is really designed to highlight the skills of local artists from the building of the cabins themselves, to the iron work and the ceramic dishes and mugs. We would love to be able to visit again someday!

The lodge and cabins are in a tranquil wooded setting. From the minute you arrive , you are greeted by a staff that is so friendly. There are always wonderful homemade meals and bakery items. Unbelievable meals! The cabins are very cozy and so peaceful. You can really relax. Hikes and music add to the setting. Donna did a wonderful job of creating a very peaceful, homey atmosphere that will make your Alaskan adventure complete.

Tonglen Lake was incredible. The staff was top notch, the cabins were very comfortable and knowledgable, and the food was SO good. They have a wonderful store w beautiful art and gifts. If you’re headed to Denali, this is the place to stay.

Nice, warm, quiet, and clean cabins. Friendly and helpful staff. Big plus is that the lodge is a long way out of the mass tourism traffic of the Denali Park East End. Cafe was cosy with an assortment of pastries, cookies, and espresso. Dinners were good, breakfasts ok. Evening presentation was excellent. Beware, the room rates (albeit as with others in the Park East End area) are breathtakingly expensive, easily double what an equivalent quality lodging would be elsewhere.

If you have a multi-generational trip and want an experience authenic to the area, Tonglen is the place to stay in Daneli! We had four generations visiting the area. Tonglen provide activities for all of us from paddleboarding to hiking to playing with the adorable huskies being trained. The food service is excellent - three meals, no work for your group. There are thoughtful details throughout from a large yard pefect for sports to the art in every room. One gem to discover is Donna - the founder. She is a talented artist, dog agility trainer and superb hosptility manager who makes sure every detail is covered. If you want the peace and seredity of Denali with locals who can help, avoid the Gitter Gultch and stya at Tonglen!

Do not come here unless you're looking for bad service, bad coffee, and dry pastries. This place is not welcoming to outsiders. Not sure why they advertise themselves as a place that welcomes community visitors. Even as a paying customer you can tell they do not want you there. Very rude and very unfriendly.

Denali Park Village offers rustic rooms and cabins in a seasonal mountain-view lodge, featuring a casual restaurant and saloon. Travelers are often advised to explore Kantishna, a historic mining town at the end of Denali Park Road, surrounded by the National Park and Preserve. This remote location provides unique advantages for adventurous travelers. The village is lined with enjoyable restaurants and souvenir shops, serving as a starting point for various tours.
There are few places to choose from in the area, and all are priced higher-end due to the area's cost of living. The village is located relatively close to the park. Rooms are very clean and decorated to fit the lodge motif. Lots of bus tour traffic cones in here and it is well organized. We were part of a tour, so bags were handled by the coach service. The village has lots of things to occupy your time during your stay. Amazingly well maintained grounds. There are shops, and fire-pits, restaurant, and lobby games. For the adventure seekers the concierge can help set you up with something you want. Off site trails are about a half mile walk from the property but you do need a vehicle or walk along a highway edge.

Great location is what this place has going for it. It is right along the Nenana River and just down the road from Denali National Park. On the negative side, the rooms are small with 2 tiny beds (1 king would have been much better), no fridge, and no microwave. Top it off with 1 of the only 2 washing machines serving 3 buildings being broken and all value just turns into a pain in the butt. Staff were friendly though, and they did have coffee for purchase in the lobby along with a nice, well stocked gift shop. Breakfast was way overpriced and all the tour buses pulling in made eating on premises just not worth it when there are such better restaurants just down the road.
Brian B — Google review
This was part of our vacation package. We had a cabin on the river. It was small with very limited outlets to access. But we anticipated that with being so remote. It was clean and shower was hot, but it is a studio pretty much. Food prices were extremely high. Mediocre breakfast buffet that was lukewarm food was $30 per adult. We understand its remote and food costs are going to be more, but that seemed excessive and kept us from really eating there again. Service in restaurant was good. Overall, not a bad place for remote Denali. Very quiet and peaceful for as many guests that were there.

Beautiful views. The place was nice but super touristy. The people working at the front desk weren’t very friendly. If you struggle physically, it might not be the place for you. We had to carry our luggage quite a way to get to our room. There wasn’t much much parking either if you drive there. The employees who are on work/study were a pleasure to speak with. Lots of foreign younger kids who were eager to share about where they came from and their favorite parts of Alaska.

What a fantastic treat. Beautiful buildings from lodges, restaurants, cabins , gift shops and hotel rooms all surrounded by the majestic scenery. Beautiful Park and a true wilderness area. Book Denali Air which is 10 minutes from the park. We got lucky and saw the peak during our 7:30 am flight. We also took the Wilderness Shuttle and though it was informative and we got to see a grizzy and her cubs. The landscape and wildflowers were breathtaking.

Amazing cabin feel with modern facilities. The Cabin Nite show is a must, the crew is a super talented one. The coffee shop was conveniently open very early so we could go on our tours with a hot breakfast.

Everything was pretty overpriced, which I somewhat understand because of the location. But the lack of kitchens or even microwave ovens locks you into their overpriced dining options. The dinner show is cute, but expensive for the quality of the food... (Ribs seemingly boiled in bbq sauce and overcooked baked salmon. Or room has broken blinds, the window levers were broken and could not be opened. Walls had holes.

McKinley Creekside Cabins, Café & Bakery is a rustic lodge located just 15 minutes south of the Denali National Park entrance. It offers 45 cabin rentals, including newly constructed and remodeled options. The owners are two friendly female best friends who ensure guests have a wonderful experience. The on-site bar/cafe serves delicious homemade food like smoked salmon seafood chowder and warm chocolate chip cookies.
We stayed at the Carlo Guest Cabin (2-Bedroom) in early July. The cabin was very spacious inside for our party of 2 adults and 2 kids. We appreciated it's close location to Denali NP (15 minute drive north) as well as to the Denali Highway (15 minute drive south). The restaurant was much better than I had anticipated and we had two dinners there, a "boxed lunch to go", and breakfast pastries & coffee. For dinner, the Thai Lettuce Wraps were unexpected and delicious as was the Salmon from a local river. It also had one of the best gift shops from sweatshirts, etc. -- even better than Denali NP. Overall the location and accommodations were great. Highly recommend!

We LOVED our stay at the Creekside Cabins! This was our favorite place we stayed our entire Alaska vacation. The property is beautiful and newly renovated. We stayed in a signature creekside cabin and highly recommend them! The cabins are very clean and I definitely appreciated the little details and attention to hospitality. I loved sitting by the creek and listening to the trickling water. Having the cafe and restaurant on site is such a benefit because the food is truly top notch! The location is a bit south of the Denali National Park entrance and you will definitely need a car to get here. Highly recommend staying here as part of your Denali adventure, it's truly a gem!

Pricey but worth it. Good spacious cabins located just beside a creek. Tastefully decorated space. Clean rooms, comfy beds, great staff. Good assortment of toiletories. Ample marked parking for every cabin. 15 mins from Denali park entrance. No breakfast included which i think should have been included for the price which is high. The restaurant is good too.

We found the perfect hideaway to use as home base for a few days while exploring Denali National Park on our own. McKinley Creekside Cabins is located about 15 minutes south of the park entrance, right off the highway. A pleasant drive to the park, but away from all the tour bus hotels clustered around the park entrance. The cabins are small but clean and comfortable, with good beds and all the amenities you could need. Our cabin faced the creek, really a small flowing river, and we greatly enjoyed falling asleep while listening to the water. The staff were friendly and attentive even though we were there at the end of the season and I’m sure they were exhausted. What makes it perfect is the excellent restaurant they operate. Visitors to the park will quickly find that quality food options are limited. We wound up eating multiple meals at Mickinley Creekside Cafe and were always pleased. Customers were a blend of cabin guests, locals, and tourists staying at the park entrance, desperate for a good meal and willing to make the short drive. Definitely recommend and we will be returning on our next visit to Denali.

We had a wonderful stay at Creekside Cabins. The cozy riverside location made falling asleep to the sound of flowing water so relaxing. Blackout curtains were a huge plus during Alaska’s summer white nights. The staff was incredibly helpful, giving us great road and hiking tips. Dinner at their on-site restaurant was delicious and fairly priced. Everything about our stay was excellent—highly recommend!

we LOVED our stay at MCC. We had a room right next to the creek and fell asleep (in a very comfortable bed) to the sound of a babbling brook every night. The cabins themselves were located 15-20 minutes from Denali National Park, but it was well worth the distance. The restaurant is fantastic and they make it so easy for you to eat there! Very early breakfast available (in case you want to get to the park early), to-go lunches and dinner open late in case you get back late from your Denali explorations. Also a great gift shops, delicious lattes and mouth watering pastries. Would 100% stay here again if coming back to Denali

We stayed 3 nights mid-August. We had a cabin with queen studio with a mini refrigerator, coffee maker, and microwave. It didn’t include breakfast. Our cabin was super cute and we had a great view of the creek & mountains. The bathroom was well stocked. There is no tv which we really didn’t need since we were out and about. There was a restaurant on site and the menu items were similar price to other restaurants in the area. It was in a quiet location and only 15 minutes away from Denali National Park. I initially thought that our lodging was expensive but the other lodgings in Denali were expensive. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Aurora Denali Lodge is a cozy family-run hotel nestled in Healy, Alaska, just a stone's throw away from the entrance to Denali National Park. The lodge offers clean and comfortable rooms at reasonable prices, set amidst the serene Alaskan forest. Conveniently located near various local dining options, it also serves as the sister company to Black Diamond Resort Co during the summer season.
We had the pleasure to stop here for the night during our road trip. We just needed a place to sleep until we had to hit the road again in the morning. The price was great, the room was clean, organized and warm. It was a very pleasant and short stay. Both the mattress and the pillows where comfortable and we grabbed some coffee at the breakfast before we left. It was just good, not a single complaint.

Our experience at the lodge was great. The staff was very friendly. The room was very nice and clean (don’t let the 2 star rating of the hotel stop you). They even provide a breakfast bowl in your room for each guest! Honestly the only “less than glowing” thing I can say about it is the beds are hard and the pillows aren’t very good. Overall a wonderful experience and would definitely consider staying again (but might bring my own pillow). Very easy drive up highway 3 from Denali NP. Pro Tip: literally every restaurant in Healy other than the Totem Inn Cafe shuts down in the off season. This is not obvious from google searching for food / restaurants.

Room was clean and cozy. Location to the park and price were what made us book it. The front desk person was really nice and helped us with dinner choices. The breakfast bowls in the room were super helpful as we were traveling and didn't have time to get breakfast out. The beds were pretty firm... but overall, it was a nice, simple place to stay and lay our heads.

Clean rooms and quiet atmosphere, reasonable price. Girl at the front desk was very helpful.

I must say this is the best accommodation during our entire trip to Alaska in June 2024. We checked in late night and there were clear set of instructions on how to check in and they even called and followed up on what time we would check-in and made sure the check-in process went smoother. They even kept grab and go breakfast in the mini fridge inside the room. When you visit remote locations like Alaska, its hard to find quick breakfast in the morning but the staff in this hotel made sure the mini fridge was stuffed with grab and go breakfast. So far till now, I have never come across any hotel/lodging with this facility. Secondly, the rooms were so clean and everything was placed so neatly and we were very surprised to see such a clean accommodation. Our rooms also had a good nice forest type view. We sincerely thank the hotel staff for keeping this place so nice for us to stay. Our only regret is not being able to stay here for more time and not being able to meet the front desk staff due to our late check in and early check out. This place is definitely underrated for the type of accommodation and the location. With hotel being so close to the entrance of Denali, we will definitely stay here again for our next visit. We definitely recommend this place.

This place is a hidden gem. The service is excellent, helpful, and kind. The rooms were clean. (My family didn't find the mattresses to be too hard.) The drive to Denali NP was fairly quick/easy. We would stay here again.

Located just 1 mile north of Denali National Park, Denali Rainbow Village RV Park & Motel is the closest full-service RV park to the park entrance. The park offers a shuttle service for easy transportation into the national park, making it a convenient place to stay while visiting. Guests can enjoy well-equipped cabins and amenities such as laundry facilities. The friendly staff are knowledgeable about the area and provide helpful tips for exploring the surroundings.
Best experiences among all national park stays! The room was clean and big enough. We stayed 3 nights with 3 people in one room. All of us can keep our luggage lying on the ground and still have enough space for hanging the wet jackets. Benefits from the RV service, the tap water is filtered and drinkable. The service is definitely the biggest boost to our experiences. Shout out to Kevin, who patiently and thoughtfully introduced every place around and in the park. The tips we learned from him helped us a lot on planning our activities. We felt very welcomed. If you traveled by train without a rental car like us, you would love the walkability and convenient buses here. There are various restaurants and stores right next to the rooms or across the street. Across the street there are also complimentary shuttle buses to the park every 30 minutes. I'd recommend this hotel to all my friends who are planning to visit Denali!

We did not stay in the motel or campground. However there is an open air strip mall of shops and eateries. We stopped with a tour bus and were rushed to eat. All places were very busy. On our two stops here during our travels we wanted pizza. Both times they were closed. On one stop we opted for Crepes. Again very busy but they got those orders out on a timely manner. I had the salmon and my wife had the campers special. They did put onions in that one when we requested no onions. However both were very tasty and filling. We also shared a banana/ Nutella crepe. A good place to stop.

We stayed in one of the motel rooms for 2 nights during our stay in Denali. The room was good, bigger than we expected and met all our needs. The location is definitely the best part, it is super walkable to everything on the boardwalk including our two favorite places to eat, Black Bear Coffee House and Prospector's Pizza. It’s also very easy to walk to the Denali bus stop across the street as well to access the park which we enjoyed since we utilized the train to get to Denali. We also requested a ride to/from the train station which was accommodated no problem and our shuttle driver both ways was awesome - even stopped at the national park sign to take a picture for us! Overall, was a great stay!

Room was fine, but could be set up much more efficiently to give a full king bed or even two queens. Policy was weird making you agree like 3 times not to eat curry inside. Price was lowest available in the area but still absolutely friggin insane for a glorified shed. Edit: In reply to the response. My brother booked it and I was with him. 3 stars might seem like a bad rating, but it means "it's okay" and it was... Okay.

Very poor quality restrooms. 2 showers and 1 toilet for men for about 50 spaces. Location was definitely good.
Jay G — Google review
Everything is fine, everything is new, but uncomfortable, no air conditioning, no drinking water, no hot water, the water was barely warm... although I dreamed of a hot shower. Unfortunately, I was wrong.

We stayed at this 3-star hotel but had an experience that felt like it deserved more than three stars. A big shout-out to Kevin, who is passionate about his work and provided more than enough support for us, maximizing our three-day experience in Denali. The hotel is conveniently located near the park, with a shuttle bus (across the street) running to the park every 30 minutes. It's also close to restaurants and stores, making it easy to grab a quick meal. While most people come here for the national park, I was also moved by seeing local people helping each other, adding a warm, human touch to this beautiful natural setting. If I come back, I will definitely stay here again.
MQ Z — Google review
Stayed for 4 nights in one of the motel rooms. We had a double queen room and it matched the pictures online (and was bigger than expected). There's a strong fan in the room that keeps it cool in the summer and the beds were comfortable. The blackout curtains could have been better but were good enough. WiFi and a TV are included if you are in a motel room. Laundry does cost $10. The main reason to stay here is the cost and location. It is much cheaper than the nearby resorts. You can still take advantage of all the resorts amenities (restaurants, shops and most importantly the shuttles into Denali).

Nestled on the shores of a picturesque lake, Denali Lakeview Inn offers classic accommodations with convenient floatplane access. Guests can enjoy complimentary in-room breakfast, WiFi, and satellite TV. Many visitors to Denali National Park opt for camping inside the park to fully experience Alaska's natural beauty, including stunning views of the Northern Lights and abundant wildlife sightings. The inn's prime location provides easy access to the national park while offering breathtaking mountain vistas from every angle.
Long overdue review. We stayed there for a couple nights in early August. Everything facing the lake was taken so we booked Spruce, one of the rooms facing the parking lot. I got a peek at the rooms facing the lake and they night and day. Their view is fantastic. Will definitely start reserving earlier next time I am in the area. Spruce room was convenient and comfortable but would spend a lot of time inside when you have the views outside. The room had a fan and a dehumidifier. The dehumidifier did a great job of cooling the room( sunny in the afternoon) but the condensate goes into a tank and the unit will stop in the middle of the night when the tank is full. A little strange but it's the nature of the beast. Great thanks go to Tara. We left some clothing in the closet and made a big effort to send them to us. Thanks again Tara. One of the jackets has a big sentimental value. The front desk staff are super friendly. Very nice place but reserve early to get one of those balconies.

The best view of all the Hotel/Inn my husband and I stayed for our 2 weeks journey in Alaska. If you are visiting Denali, you must stay here. The Lakeview Inn has kayak, binoculars, bicycle and walking sticks for guests to use. Our 1st day we were given fruits, muffins, juice drinks, tea and coffee. Everyday we got to enjoy homemade cookies and brownies. After our experienced in Lakeview Inn all the other hotels we stayed were subpar. We got to see family of Moose right at our balcony.

Solid views, clean and well stocked rooms and warm hosts. This place has it all! We stayed for two nights a day were able to see beautiful fall colours from our bed. At night, we saw the Northern Lights dance across the lake. The hosts are really warm and accommodated our food preferences. The breakfast comes stocked in the fridge so no fixed wake up time. The rooms have a homely touch which makes the stay really comfortable. Gas stations, restaurants and downtown are all easily accessible. Overall, highly recommend this place for a quaint and comfy Denali trip.

I wish I could give 10 stars… this place is phenomenal! Roughly 11 miles from Denali park entrance and nestled next to a beautiful lake overlooking a stunning Mountain View. The amenities are out of this world for what you get. You can kayak, use the fire pit at your own leisure, you get a deep tub with jets, and a balcony view to die for. The lady working the desk for the night shift was incredibly helpful and friendly. She shared a little about her grandmothers portrait in one of the rooms and let us see a view of the lake from a different room. The swan cove was incredibly spacious with a decently sized private bathroom as well as a kitchenette. In the fridge there were two plates that included fresh fruit, raisin bread, boiled eggs, and muffins. There was also a drawer with varying cereals and snacks, with milk and juice in the fridge as well. I didn’t want to leave the inn lol… my fiancé and I wished we cut off our stay in Fairbanks to stay at the inn and just relax. We got to see the northern lights for the first time just off of our room balcony. The only thing I would be aware of when staying here is there is a lot of wild life!!! With the potential to seeing bears and moose. I would fight a bear if it meant we could stay there forever though. BOOK THIS INN ASAP.
Ashley H — Google review
The room was fantastic, featuring an open layout with plenty of windows overlooking the lake. The bed was very comfortable, and the lake view was truly exceptional. The host was friendly and welcoming. During our stay, we even saw a few moose wandering around the lake. I highly recommend this place!
Pei W — Google review
We had several of the rooms rented for a family event. The views of the lake from the balcony were fantastic. We had the Bear Den so everyone could gather for meals. There are several kayaks, fishing rods, and bikes to borrow. There is an ATV rental nearby(but never heard any engines). We also saw the resident moose walking through the lake one morning. Everyone said their beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. Watch out for potholes on the road. They're really hard on the tires.
E C — Google review
The room is a little dated but everything was amazing. We had a balcony with a lake view where we watched moose several times. The service was great and we had everything we needed. It was very convenient to have all the breakfast items already in the room when you arrive.

We had an excellent stay at Denali Lakeview Inn. Great room, generous continental breakfast and other food/drink items included. Tara was very nice and even helped carry our bags in! The views are incredible, with Lake Otto and then mountains in the background. We saw a moose walking through the shallow lake one morning, and it was truly magical. I would highly recommend this place!

Denali Hostel & Cabins offers a variety of accommodations, including cozy dorm rooms and spacious cabins like the Razorback. The property is conveniently located just 20-30 minutes from the entrance to Denali National Park, making it easy to access. Guests can enjoy clean showers and bathrooms, as well as a well-equipped kitchenette and outdoor grill. The beautiful location in the woods by a rushing river provides a serene setting for relaxation.
Nice, clean, comfortable, and affordable option for visiting Denali National Park. The kitchen is big with the necessary dishes and appliances. Ample room for parking if you have your own car. And, it's right next to several restaurants within walking distance. The sound of the creek in the evening was nice. Check-in was easy. The hostel was quiet and not one of those party vibes. And, I saw people of all ages from young teens with parents to retired adults exploring on their own. I wish I had more time to spend another night and meeting more interesting people. Highly recommend if you're looking for something affordable and clean.

We really enjoyed our stay with you a few weeks ago. The well-organised community room with its open and very well-equipped kitchen really made all the difference to our stay in our opinion. Apart from being clean and tidy, it was roomy enough and furnished in such a way that you could meet and chat with other guests or enjoy quiet time and read a book for example in a comfortable easy chair. The warm, cosy atmosphere and complimentary tea and coffee were a welcome plus! We would definitely come again. Thank you!!! 🤩

This was one of my favorite hostel experiences to date. It was very cozy, clean, and stocked with good indoor games and books. I stayed for two evenings and found it to be the perfect base camp for Denali (National Park and State Park). Additionally, there are two great restaurants across the street with great beer - an unexpected amenity in that rural of a place!

We stayed 2 nights in one of the creekside canvas castles. I highly recommend these canvas tents, especially by the water. The cots are wonderfully comfortable and the sound of the creek all night was delightful. The common areas are well maintained and clean. The shower facilities are very nice. Free GOOD coffee and wifi in the octagon, with a full kitchen. We didn't use the kitchen, but it appeared to have everything you need to prepare a good meal. No cell service in the cabins, which wasn't a problem for us. Creekside across the Hwy was wonderful and is walkable from the site. I would totally stay here again if I find myself back near Denali.

This was our second stay here 5 years apart. This place has had some upgrades in that time which are great! The Sanctuary cabins are awesome with plenty of space and I love the common area of The Octagon for cooking and talking with fellow travelers. It's a homey place with a great vibe that you look forward to returning to after a day if hiking or adventuring. Thank you again for another memorable stay!

Enjoyed my stay here. I was in a 6 bed mixed dorm room. Even with 5 other people in the room, it still felt comfortable in my bunk bed. It's a great location and price. No issues with check in or the facilities. They also have bear spray you can borrow during your stay. Highly recommend if staying in the area!

HIGHLY recommend this hostel for a home base while exploring the park! The staff went out of their way to make it a special place, and the accommodations were great. I was in the bunk rooms and felt safe, warm, and comfortable. Best part is the people you will meet while chatting at the kitchen table. Will definitely return!

No complaints with this place at all! We reserved 5 beds in a 6 bed room and got the whole room. The beds are extremely sturdy and private, with outlets and a small light for each one. Showers were nearby and well maintained. Cute coffee shop and pizza pub right across the road.

Guests can enjoy spacious, clean rooms with comfortable beds and convenient amenities such as microwaves, fridges, dining tables, and dishes.
Super cute cabins. Was easily able to handle my family of five and the owners and team were super friendly and the rooms were amazingly clean and tidy. Just knocking off one star because the floors are a floating wood floor that is shared throughout the complex, so when your neighbors are up earlier than you in the morning and are walking around, you hear every single footstep and any banging they make reverberates through your room. Aside from that an amazing place!

Excellent location just 30min south of Denali National Park. Stayed here 3 nights and it was perfect; comfortable bed, nice warm shower, clean & provided all the basic amenities we needed. Was great to have fridge, microwave, silverware, cups & plates. There is a pretty walking train along a pond and river at the back of the property and a great little Pavillion area to hang outside and we even grilled chicken wings one evening!! If we are ever back in the area, we will absolutely return to Backwoods Lodge!

We were not actually able to stay there. We had a two day reservation on a weekend and were actually on our way to check in; driving in from Fairbanks. When we were about 45 minutes away, at about 3:30 p.m., a State Trooper stopped us and told us that highway 3 was closed because the wildfires had jumped the road. We had to turn back. While I had signal, I called Kris Volker, the owner, and explained. Without hesitation, he refunded our entire room fee immediately. I would definitely reserve there again (and hopefully actually stay next time)!

Nestled just a few miles from the entrance of Denali National Park, Denali Primrose B&B offers a delightful retreat in Healy, Alaska. Set on 1.5 wooded acres, this charming bed and breakfast features two well-appointed suites—one spacious three-bedroom suite on the second floor and a cozy one-bedroom suite on the first floor. Each suite is designed to provide all the comforts of home with separate bedrooms, bathrooms, and living areas.
Our party of 10 rented both suites, having the entire house to ourselves. The house itself was clean, beautiful, and unique. The owner, Terry, was very friendly, outgoing, and overall just a super sweet lady. This was my first time staying in a B&B, and it was a great experience. Breakfast is included and there were so many options to choose from. Thank you Terry for your hospitality and being so accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

This place is AMAZING. Hostess Terry is very friendly and nice. She pays good attention to the needs and comfort of her guests. Everything was perfect down to the smallest detail. House was very clean, warm and comfortable. The surrounding was beautiful and serene, and it was only a 20min drive to Denali National Park. One of the best places which I have stayed in, this place is comparable to a 5 star hotel but with a personal touch.

We will definitely be back if we are in the area again. We were sad to leave!

McKinley Creekside Café is a small and cozy restaurant located near the highway, offering a delicious selection of American food. The café is known for its tasty vegetarian burger and Dukes burger, as well as a variety of baked goods including cinnamon buns, brownies, and cake slices. Despite its small seating area, the café's food makes it a favorite dining spot in Denali. Visitors recommend making reservations due to the popularity of the café and long wait times.
Great restaurant — fresh, yummy food, great atmosphere and vibes. Food is fresh and house-made, worth the price, good portions and good options, and all really good. I came here for dinner and breakfast and loved it. The creek and outdoor seating is beautiful and the indoor is good too. Definitely would return and highly recommend.

This is the best restaurant you will find in the Denali area. We ate here every day during our 3 nights in Denali, and luckily we were staying right on site in the creekside cabins so we didn't have to venture too far. The food is exquisite and the chef fish specials are top notch. The service is also amazing - huge shout-out to Katie who is an excellent waitress! We enjoyed chatting with her during each visit. This restaurant is a MUST VISIT!

We had a great breakfast here (good selection of veg options) and the latte was so good! We had Avacado sandwich which was filling and well made with Sourdough bread and microgreens on top. We also ordered side of sourdough bread and rhubarb jam - it was good too! It has a Togo menu separate from dining menu. Scones were the only other thing which was without eggs/gelatin. And they were out of Matcha tea.

I had dinner here and was genuinely impressed — the food and service were both excellent. I had the salmon tacos, and they were absolutely delicious. The café offers both indoor and outdoor seating, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. They also have a nice selection of baked goods, coffee, and an espresso machine. I stopped in a few times for an espresso after dinner during my trip — great quality and consistently good. If you’re visiting Denali, this is a great spot for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. They also offer items to-go and have a front desk that can help you book local activities, which was super convenient. Highly recommend stopping in!

Little bit like being in heaven. After all the road stops food, we feel illuminated about this great dinning experience for a price which is more than fair. We did directly a second time today. The waiters were really kind and attentive but not too intrusive. Many thanks to all from the Creekside team.

The food is super good here, but the prices went up a bit too much this year though. I probably can't fit it in our budget for our groups to come back. Service is pretty good. Definitely worth the stop. I was about to turn down the Denali Hwy but decided to go another ten miles up the road to this cafe. The Halibut burrito bowl was the bomb. My waitress Katie was awesome, super friendly and great service. Great atmosphere and views. Don’t think about it, just go there.

First, OMG! Second, OMG! Had dinner here on a Thursday evening. No wait for an outside table and the weather was awesome so we enjoyed it. I had the Chefs Special Salmon and I can honestly say it was the best Salmon I have ever had! Each layer was unique but perfectly complemented each other. Flavors were spot on and the cook was perfect. This should be an every day dish! The others in my party had turkey pot (delicious) and Chili (yum). We topped off our dinner with a Chocolate Avalanche. It was the best desert I have had while exploring Alaska. Before we left, we picked up some bakery goodies to enjoy the next morning. I highly recommend McKinley Creekside Cafe & Bakery! You won’t be disappointed!!!

Amazing stay here. Stayed in a cabin with two good sized double beds, and the cabin was super cute and very clean. The lady at check in was absolutely lovely and super welcoming. Was a little bit tricky to find the reception building - just keep following the gravel road around to the right and up the hill! Would highly recommend this place if you are in Denali - very reasonably priced compared to other options. Thank you for a fabulous stay!

We stayed in one of their dry cabins. Ours looked recently updated, but some of the others looked pretty dated on the outside. The inside was nice and comfortable, but wifi signal was poor. We loved being right next to the creek. The bathhouse had been updated and was just a short walk from the cabin. It was a bit small with just two toilet stalls, two showers, and one sink on the women's side, but I never had to wait so I guess it's adequate for the number of dry cabins they have. It was just a quick drive to Denali National Park and the price was very reasonable compared to everything else in the area, so we would stay here again. Their website and older reviews mention a restaurant on site, but that seems to have been closed in 2023. There are a couple of other food options nearby, but not many.

The location is perfectly placed for a Denali visit that's removed from the large crowds of the town center. The views are spectacular and the pizza pub with stellar pizza and a large selection of draft beers is in walking distance.

Spent 3 nights at the Perch Resort. We stayed in a one room cabin with no bath. The cabin was clean and the beds comfortable. We left the windows open at night to listen to the stream running by the front door. It was a short walk to the bathhouse. The toilets and (single) sink area were kept clean. The shower stall was clean, except for the shower curtains, which were soap scum covered along the bottom - they were about 3 inches too long. The walkway up from the Creek trail to bathhouse was a bit sketchy. The traction tread was completely worn away, making it slippery with a light rain. Several of the boardwalk boards were soft and sagged when stepped upon. The kitchen is open only to groups. But there is a nice cafe just on the other side of the creek. It’s an easy walk to breakfast before heading to Denali.

Beautiful little duplex private cabin with a full bath and view of the creek. Parking was simple. Great food and drinks nearby for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The bed was surprisingly comfortable. My only complaint is people should pay attention to what they are reserving when booking online. The lady who checked in prior to us did not pay attention and attempted to give the check in hostess a hard time about it, which she handled beautifully. Would definitely stay again if we come back this way.

The owners were SO friendly and accommodating. We rented the tiny cabin right by the river and, it wasn't the Hyatt, but it was very clean, comfortable, and a good value for the price. We loved the sound of the river right outside. The restaurant is AMAZING!!! It was such a great surprise to find a gourmet restaurant with locally sourced food and not outrageous prices. The bartender, Bacon, is the BEST! He whipped up custom drinks with homemade bitters and liquors. Everything was top notch! Playing with the local black lab, Rocket, was a huge treat too.

Located just 1/2 miles north of the entrance to Denali National Park, Denali Riverside Cabins offers a range of accommodations including 2 person cabins and condo suites for up to 8 guests. The rustic yet modern units are family-friendly and feature kitchenettes, sofa beds, outdoor sitting areas, and living/dining areas. Guests praise the warm and comfortable cabins with amazing views from the deck.
Great stay! Extremely easy check-in, very clean, and all the critical amenities provided. The location was the best part. We did not have a car and found the ~1 mile walk to the train station (which also has a bus stop for the free Denali park shuttle) super convenient. The walk to the train station is on a trail that is directly across the street from the cabins. And if you take that same trail in the opposite direction ~0.5 mile, it brings you to a stretch of restaurants/shopping.

Our family of five, including three teenagers, had a fantastic stay at Denali Riverside Cabins. The location was perfect for us—no car needed! We easily walked (~1 mile) from the train station and spent our days exploring Denali National Park and strolling into town for dinner each night (~1 mile). While the walking was extensive, the convenience of not needing a rental car made it worth it. The cabins offered basic amenities but were one of the few places in town that could comfortably accommodate our family with plenty of beds. We appreciated having a grill, though only one burner worked. The staff was friendly and helpful when they were available. We brought most of our supplies from Fairbanks, which was a good call since the cabins didn't have extras like seasoning. The highlight of our trip was a helicopter flight, and we were blessed with sunny days throughout our stay. If you're prepared with some small planning, like bringing your supplies, this place is a great base for a Denali adventure!

The place is strategically located very close to Denali Park entrance (20 min walk to the bus depot), especially if you don’t have your own car. We stayed at the Polychrome cabin and we absolutely loved the view and the place! A toaster would help (as seen in other reviews) ;) Highly recommended!

perfect location for denali national park. you couldn’t ask for a better location. the cabin was warm, comfortable, and had an amazing view from the deck. the place was clean and had all necessary equipment. didn’t notice there was a grill available until we arrived(i’m sure it said it somewhere but i forgot by the time we traveled here!) but that would have been very useful rather than eating a terrible meal 20minutes away at 49th state brewery. it made our hotel stay in anchorage look miserable. it’s an incredibly close drive to the park visitor center but you can even walk to the park by walking across the street to the walking bridge over the river and walking up the jonesville crossroads trail and through the riley creek campground to the visitor center and on to the many other trails in denali(which i did one day haha). it was amazing. wifi worked well but the tv didn’t seem to be connected to the wifi? not sure but it would turn on then black out after you chose a streaming service. it wasn’t a big deal we were only turning it on for some background noise during our nighttime routines.

We had a great stay! Very comfortable with great views and a nice private location in Denali. I think it could benefit from a toaster but all around good!

We had a great experience here. The location is extremely convenient to the park, and the accommodations were clean and comfortable. The Family Cabin was great for our group of 7. I did wish the kitchenette had a toaster, but otherwise the microwave and coffeemaker worked great.

We had a delightful 2 night stay at Denali Riverside Cabins in Denali, AK, hosted by Sam and Val. The loft's proximity to Denali National Park, less than a mile away, allowed easy access to the natural wonders. Situated on the picturesque Nenana River, it offered beautiful views of the park's village area. The loft has excellent internet access and commendable cleanliness. Sam and Val's outstanding communication made us feel welcome and well taken care of throughout our stay. However, a few considerations for potential guests: the kitchen facilities are limited to a microwave and coffee maker, no hotplate for cooking and no dishes or utensils. Some daytime noise due to nearby flightseeing and rafting companies. Guests have no control over the loft's heating and the bathroom is located downstairs. Despite these considerations, we would happily stay again and recommend it to friends.

We actually did not send up staying here, as we had issues with our flights and did not make it to Alaska at that time. However, we communicated with them multiple times, and the owners were extremely friendly, patient, honest, and helpful. They went above and beyond, and we look forward to staying there in the future as a first choice.
