It was a spontaneous idea to eat there. We booked a table online and luckily managed to get one for that evening. The interior is very pleasant, the welcome was friendly, and the service—the waiters—were attentive throughout. The menu features very imaginative names, and the dishes themselves are both delicious and visually stunning. I recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy good quality food at a reasonable price.

We came to this amazing restaurant without a reservation and it was the best food we had this whole trip. They have the most delicious risotto I have ever tasted! The staff explained the menu very well and where extremely attentive. And the wine list is endless! Can’t recommend this restaurant enough!

The best Italian food we have had in Italy, absolutely delicious. We had one lobster pasta dish with this incredible tomato sauce which I will be dreaming about for days to come! 100% recommend and definitely worth turning of the highway to enjoy a lovely lunch.

Superb restaurant, we deviated from our road trip home to Nice to come here. Friendly staff that were very welcoming to 4 hungry lads. We were treated with tasty breads and a fishy amuse bouche to begin followed by a few dishes each, everything was brilliant, perfectly cooked & displayed, fresh produce. Chef has skills. The restaurant is very beautiful. Only downside was is took 2 hours 30 minutes to serve us 2 dishes each

Wonderful beachside spot! We spent the whole day here celebrating a friend’s birthday and couldn’t have asked for a better setting. The restaurant is peaceful and right on the beach, with a lovely pool area where we relaxed and partied all day. Everything was beautifully organised, and the atmosphere was perfect. Do not eat here. Food is 2/10 Service is terrible. They pretend to be high end but they are just a poorly organized and managed beach. You are better off going to any other of the other restaurants around there, you'll get better food and better service. Avoid.

The food is nothing special—worse than most nearby restaurants. It's designed to look like fine dining, but the high prices aren’t justified by the quality.

Most of the staff greet you with a warm smile. You get the feeling that everyone is deeply focused on their tasks. A note on the menu: the dishes lack detailed descriptions. The prices are very reasonable and affordable. Most of the dishes we ordered came in extremely large portions — something the waiter did not mention in advance. This could be seen as both a positive and a drawback, depending on one’s preference. The pizza dough is clearly crafted with care. When ordering, make sure to double-check the portion size. I truly appreciate the efforts of the staff.

A fairly average experience. The restaurant is nice ambiance and friendly staff. The food, though good and fresh is a bit bland in taste. The seafood is much better than most dishes but the steak is poor, the cut was thin and had chunks of fat as opposed to an even marble, it also lacks natural flavour and was bland at best. Overall though a decent meal if we focus on the seafood options and the price is very good, the portion size is decent and it all seems good quality and fresh. This should have been a 3 star but the price and value makes it a four.

First time visit in La Casina, it was worth the food experience. Location near Principe Hotel not on the Viareggio esplanade The Carbonara di mare is a bomb very tasty mixed of creamy seafood flavor, Frito Misto and Cacciucco were also good not too salty. Good interior design, fast and good service, price is average for Viareggio standard- will probably go back to try other dishes.

Great Italian food to fair prices and friendly staff. The restaurant is located in the forest/park of Viareggio. The menu offers fresh fish, beef and everything the toscana has to offer. In addition they hold an extensive wine list, but we went with the house white offered in 0.25, 0.5 and 1l carafe and it was delicious!

Got 2 sharing starters;1 with fish & meat and 2nd was doughnuts & cheese. 5 mains as grandson ate bolognaise( his Mum said the meat sauce was wonderful but she can't eat pasta). +2 Carbonara de Mare + 1 veg pizza + waitress recommendation for son in law Tuna steak with courgette & aubergine side ( He loved it and both my hubby and daughter tried the tuna and said azing with the spices. Bottles of water and Claret of house white wine. No rush even though place very busy Had a big group of tables for party Plenty of families with small children eating here. Even with tip the bill was only €120 Amazingly they don't want to take tips which to us from London and Cavan is a shock as very much an expected thing here

45 euros for two pre cut tartares and 2 bottles of water i find a bit too much…. Restaurant was empty and we were asked to sit inside in a super small table. The quality of the tartare wasn’t good. 30 mins wait for tartares to be unpacked from the plastic and brought up from the fridge and not even seasoned. 0 stars. We thought it would be fresh, not from the fridge, Never again… i cant believe they call the tartares a speciality…

The place is very small but good. The focaccia was delicious. Aperitivo went all good with good meat, cheese, a bit of salad and potatoes that were a bit oily but tasty. The wine was okayish. The service was good but they should improve the seating and tables which were not really comfortable. The service was ok as well as ambience nothing really particular. Overall recommend for an aperitivo.

A very cosy garden to sit in. The platter was a well prepared cutting-board with several different classic cuts of cold meat, different kinds of cheese and some bread with different toppings. A well assortment of wine. A recommendation would be that the bread with different toppings are made “à la Minute” so that the bread is warm with choice to add the toppings by them selves. On our plate, the bread with toppings was pre-prepared which lead to that the bread was cold, soaked and wet from the toppings. Other than that 👌

A regular restaurant with nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Luca the owner, Giuseppe and the rest of the team are lovely genuine people. You have a choice of all sort of seafood dishes or pizza. Everything is seriously delicious. Parking it’s easy and you right on the beach. Price is reasonable. There are few section on the restaurant where you can either stay al fresco outside or insider with Airconditioning enjoying the fish tank view. It’s an historical restaurant for the locals in Versilia opened since long time

This place was recommended to us by locals. Thus there were only locals eating amongst us. The food was good and the service was nice too. We had the champagne risotto and were very satisfied. There is a guy playing live music on the keyboard during dinner, this was nice, however it was too loud for us for dinner.

We had an overpriced fish in smallest portion ever. Fish fillet cooked with many bones on it, which is a serious health hazard. We asked is it normal and they said yes!

La lisca was suggested to us by the owner of the residence we are staying (residenza casa bianca) as best fish restaurant in Marina di Massa. Very impressed with the service and food, we showed up without reservation and even if the restaurant was pretty busy they accommodate us to a lovely big table at the back of the restaurant. Our waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable ☺️

The food and the location are great, the service is this restaurant’s downfall. We were among the first guests for lunch yet the service was uninviting, cold and unreasonably slow. I guess that service with a smile was not on the menu.... too bad.

Fantastic food and service. Visited twice during our family vacation. We were a party of 8 guests from 12 to 74 years, and everybody loved it. For me the dessert Notting Hill Sin was pure perfection.

We went spontaneous to the restaurant and got still a table on the outside terrace. Very nice and courteous staff with good recommendations if you don’t know what to take. The Fiorentina Steak was perfect done and had a very good taste and also the octopus burger was a good choices.

Fantastic atmosphere. Both inside and on the patio/terrace. On site parking available. Although the menu did not offer English translation our server was fantastic in helping us translate and make our selections. The dry aged steaks were cooked to perfection. The kids enjoyed their Burger, chicken sandwich and pizza. There is literally something for everyone on this menu. In my opinion the tastes, quality, atmosphere exceeded our expectations. Thank you for your hospitality and we shall return when we are in town again.

We paid in total 140 Euros for 2 Adults and 2 kids. -2 kg meat including a large bone chunk 70 Euros. -20 Euros for grilled vegetables. -1 bottle water 2 Euros. -1 red wine bottle 15 Euros. -2 Cream Catalana 10 Euros. -2 Tiramisu 12 Euros -Billed Table service tips 12 Euros. - Rounding adjustments -1 Euro. Some scope of improvements. 1. Better clarity on price, you don't know them until you pay, apart from the Wine. I myself wanted to know the price before coming however after searching for hours had no clue, hence itemized them above. 12 Euros as billed tips and 20 Euros for veggies is on the higher side and guests must be made aware of, no menu card with price. 2. We requested for one Tiramisu to be packed, they gave us in an Aluminium foil, loosely dumped, which was not convenient. Not a complaint however they may think of better options. 3. Booking by email or other means apart from calling. I know nonetheless it will still have a lot of guests, however people travelling from abroad will also have an easier possibility to book.

Very good meat restaurant without much frills Basically the only options is the amount of meat you are willing to eat, the wine and the side dish. But the meat, which is always the same, comes cooked on a stone, and for which as mentioned you only decide the amount, is indeed excellent. Not impressed by the side dishes, though. Sweets are OK.

One word, Sublime! Treat your taste buds, the steak was buttery soft and flavorful. I can say for the first time I liked rare meat, it just melted in my mouth. Probably the best steak that I've tasted till date. The side dishes were good too, grilled veggies and potatoes. The focaccia was okayish, wine was good. They've got good options for dessert, the chocolate cake with gelato was delicious . Apt ambience, The staff were very professional and surprisingly quick service. Only con would be the location. Overall it was a good experience, worth every penny you pay.

Shocked by the attitude of the male owner/manager of the restaurant here which took everything away for the experience we had overall. And to be honest the other staff weren’t not so attentive or hospitable either. Quite a poor experience, not a good vibe. I was visiting with my wife’s family who live locally and have been regular customers this place for years as a number of them are celiac. I had heard good things about the pizza (especially for the gf pizza). When we arrived for a table booked for 6, we was placed on a table for 4 with two additional chairs added on the ends with a dripping AC fan right above us. Not ideal, but ok if that that’s the only option. However right across from us was an empty table for 6… So we kindly asked if it would be possible to switch to have more space to not be crammed together and risk cross-contamination of the gluten - to which the response was abrupt and rude, shouted over from this angry man behind the counter in the open kitchen, with other staff rolling their eyes, no one able to explain the situation to us in a kind manner. After being snappy and stubborn they basically said the other table had been booked first. Ok…Somewhat understandable, but surely a table for 6 should be a table for 6, not two small tables with two chairs shoved on the side with minimal space under a dripping AC - plus it’s not like we booked last minute we had booked midday for an evening meal. Anyway not making a big deal about it we sat. It then took about 10-15 minutes until we had to stand up and ask for one of the floor staff who was standing with her back to us to take our order just to get some drinks. The meal went on with no other issues, the pizza was fine, not the best, fairly small but ok, I would say average at best (mine was not gf). During and also by the end of our meal we realise the table of 6 across from us was still empty! So when paying for the bill we asked why and how it was possible that A) We weren’t offered the table early into our meal after the booking didn’t show, and B) How their booking system works so we can ensure we get the correct seating arrangements in the future. Straight away the same guy overheard from the kitchen (which btw is basically in the restaurant) again shouting and causing a scene “if you don’t like it here don’t come here again” …No understanding for the situation, no care at all. Everyone in the restaurant was looking over shocked. I honestly couldn’t believe it! So rude and aggressive causing a huge scene over us simply trying to get some clarity on the situation which was never addressed or apologised for. And resulting in loosing some loyal local customers who did absolutely nothing wrong. Crazy! I honestly don’t understand why someone like that would even work in hospitality. Hopefully for the sake of the restaurant they choose to replace him with someone who actually cares about their customers - which he clearly doesn’t. And teach their staff to show more respect and have more understanding for these kind of situations, it’s really the minimum expectation of customers service. The restaurant inside isn’t particularly nice by the way, quite simple. The back area in particular was quite ugly with a dripping AC and out-dated and the toilets seemed quite neglected with a broken tap. I was very disappointed overall, I won’t be coming again.

Great restaurant, great food, great value. The venue is absolutely stunning sadly the weather didn’t allow us to sit outside under the wonderful lemon trees that shelter the patio. I would strongly suggest to try the stuffed onions which were exceptional, the stuffing was perfectly seasoned and juicy. Pheasant ragù and braised veal were also very nice, I am looking forward to going back to try more. Servings are very generous and wine list well studied. Must try!!

It was such an amazing experience. I can see why this restaurant has a Michelin rating. The food is delicious and fresh and is extremely well presented. Art on a plate. The staff were extremely attentive and very communicative and helpful. We were attended to by several staff and each and every one of them were just as pleasant as the next. The atmosphere was a beautiful garden setting that gave such a romantic and beautiful ambience. Parking is nearby, which is signposted. However, the streets leading to this location can be concerning to navigate for tourists such as us, coming from Australia.

What a good meal we have. We started with a nice carpaccio as a starter, followed by a delicious pasta. The atmosphere is chic and chill, staff were fantastic and the location was excellent. We booked immediately for a week later!

One of the most beautiful restaurant ever! A summer time must. The terrace is filled with lemon trees and other plants! It's like eating out in a lush green place. Kitchen is also amazing! Try the linguine with prawns and veggies and the passion fruit dessert!

Excellent. A very nice experience of local cuisine. Everything was cooked and served to perfection. The raviolis and the crepes suzettes were special highlights. Actually the best crepe I have ever had… Fiorello warmly welcomed us into his restaurant and gave us great tips. The restaurant itself is ideally located in the old city on a quiet place, perfect to eat outside. The inner room is nice as well. I highly recommend.

Travelled an hour to visit after they confirmed a 14:00 booking. They state they close at 15:30. We were turned away at the time of booking because they “couldn’t be bothered to serve” us. I can only assume it was due to the fact we were British as other locals were sat inside ordering food. Please go here if you want to ruin your family holiday.

we have been coming here for 30 years when visiting family in the lunigana. over the years the family shout and scream at each other. on this occasion i asked for my pizza and the son screamed at me. very unprofessional and such a shame. they not like tourists. will not be coming back which is such a shame!!! seem they are more interested in the deliveries!!! terrible

I had a deeply disappointing experience at this pizza place. I was excited to try it, but the service was appalling. When I politely asked which pizza was mine, the staff shouted at me in an incredibly rude manner. Their anger was completely uncalled for and ruined the entire visit. The food may be decent, but the unprofessional and hostile service made it impossible to enjoy. I won’t be returning.

We have been coming here for 30 years, Italian English family. Every year they seem to get more angry with customers and each other. They screamed at my mother when collecting her order , the way the spoke to my mother was disgusting, particularly the man with shaved head and the glasses. Rude and no care for their customers. It’s is a shame after 30 years to say we will never return. Avoid !!! To mention the pizzas have also shrunk in size along with the quality of the ingredients they are not the same. Awesome place to have a pizza. Really. Yes, don't expect a formal dinner or anything.... Actually, it's absolutely casual, and you eat with your hands. However, the pizza tastes great! It's a different style, but you'll like it if you don't expect a posh place.

A good place to get a quick pizza right in the middle of Marina di Massa center. Pizza quality is not the best you’d ever have in your life but it’s pretty tasty and quite cheap. 5€ get you a whole Margherita but expect a smaller size than an usual Italian pizza. Service is great and they are super fast to make a quick pizza to takeaway. Overall I think in Marina this is my favorite pizza. It’s also one of the few pizza al taglio they stays open until late.

Absolutely can’t recommend The shellfish spaghetti was too salty, the portion to small, the ingredients so average. Salad was disgusting with cheap tomato’s, old dry carrots and olives without any souse (they serve olive oil in disposable sachet.

Great food and drink - €8 for a litre of red wine, what could go wrong! The service was okay, but locals did get a more cheery welcome. Quite a relaxing place.

Positives: They had the best house wine I've had! The food was good to very good, the waiters (once appeared) very friendly. Negatives: We had a reservation, when we arrived and said, we were not shown any place to sit, and just waited at the entrance for several minutes, while the waiters passed by us. At the end we just set down in a table that was available. Than we had to wait for several more minutes to get the menu. The night was very busy (it was Notte Bianca in Massa), but I think the place should've expected it and prepared for it.

No need to go anywhere else if you're looking for a great typical tuscan restaurant with affordable prices. Good food, fresh sea food, as to be expected at the coast line. We arrived early and the service was very good. As soon as the restaurant got crowded, they could not keep up and the waiting times got longer and longer. We were sitting at the nice terrace (it's partially open). It was nice until people around us started to smoke. To smell the smoke of other guests while we were eating was disgusting. I would recommend not to allow smoking on the terrace, it is really disturbing to smell the smoke of cigarettes while eating.

We had dinner and tried clams, raw scampi with stracciatella and ginger, tuna cubes with tomatoes and onions, mezze lune with breed and artichokes and steamed fish with mayonnaise. It was all very good, the owner is very friendly. Good job.

I ordered a nutella pancake with mascarpone and strawberries but i only recieved a pancake with mascarpone and strawberries. Ofcourse it didn't taste good but i kept my hopes high and ate almost the whole thing, thinking i would meet the nutella. Unluckily the nutella was nowhere to be seen so i went up to the cashier and she called the manager so we somehow worked it out and she gave me a free nutella pancake that i ordered. If I dont count the mistake the service was very pleasing, the food tasted good but the restaurant was a bit noisy, due to some big families having dinner there. In my opinion it's the only decent restaurant in this locality so overall I'd reccomend going there👍.

I feel a little bit ashamed that I haven’t stopped and reviewed Lorens before. It’s one of my go-tos, my home away from home, my safe space food wise. It’s where I go when I want to be sure I’ll go home amazed by my meal (even though I’ve probably been 20 times by now). First and foremost Lorens is amazing with allergies! They also have a vegan menu and in general their kitchen DOES NOT have dairy. Always ask just to be sure but it is perfect for lactose intolerants / dairy allergies. Second, Lorens has a spectacular offering of fish - fresh, tasty, exciting. You name it. One of my favorites is the “Padella”, literally a pan of all of the goodies the sea has to offer, in a yummy stew. Finally, the staff is a class act. Each person is knowledgeable, kind, prepared and down to earth. They will treat the 3 year old child with the same respect they offer to an elderly couple. They have the courtesy to explain things when needed and the promptness to accommodate most any need. A true empire of Female Culinary Entrepreneurship. My favorite ❤️

We came in during the siesta time (our bad) and were looking for a quick bite to eat anywhere (it was our first day in Massa). The staff/owner were so nice and welcomed us in for a poke and apertivo. Stumbled upon this place for dinner on a family holiday- and what a great find it was! The staff were paitient polite and friendly, our part was mostly gluten free and we had a lot of choice on the menu, the menu had lots of pictures making it easier to understand although the waiter was very helpful in translating for us also. Honestly had the best g/f burger i have ever eaten! The bun was fresh rather than microwaved from the freezer, the chips were very good to, we had some desserts to share that were also amazing. Popped in randomly Friday lunchtime and although there were plenty of other diners (a good sign) the manager found a table for 4. We enjoyed a mix of dishes: Tuna, fritto misto and zuppa di mare. Sides were chips, side salad and oven roasted potatoes. Service was really quick and everything arrived nice and hot and tasted delicious. We were all delighted with the meal and coffee to finish. I had a tuna "tagliata" , a tuna steak partially cooked outside and lightly cooked inside , which was delicious with some fried vegetables as side. There were fresh shrimps , code fish and others. If you are more than two I suggest to drink a bottle of fresh white wine. Despite the quality of the food which is very good , the price are reasonable too I spent 20 euro each for a glass of wine , the tuna tagliata , the side vegetables and some anchovies. Conclusion it is something different , the quality of the food is good , staff is friendly so I recommend this place.

If you visit, I recommend asking for a table by the window for the best sea view, especially at sunset. We came to celebrate a 30th Birthday. Fritomisto was delicious, the appetizers were also good although the seafood salad primo could have used a bit more lemon juice and spices. The house white frizzante is excellent, the service is courteous. The view is spectacular, sitting outside 20 meters from the sea, watching the sun set. Definitely would return, this place is an undiscovered gem.
