Delicious souvlaki! The best I’ve had so far in the entire Greece! The meat was juicy, flavored, the fries were good as well. Prices are very good as well.

That was very enjoyable! Ntakos salad was so good, the metsovone baked cheese was delicious. You must try it. Then we had sheep and pork skewers. Both were excellent but the sheep was my favourite. Worth 100%. The menu is small but more than enough. Everything was 10/10. At the end they treat us some baklava which was fresh and you could taste the butter.

This is probably the most crowded restaurant here in Ioanina. Lot and lot of people are waiting in line for a table. The location and atmosphere are great, and vibrant. Food is good but you may not find Greek cooked food; here they serve only grill: souvlaki, baked/grilled cheese etc. Not many things, but good quality and tasty. Service is fast and professional, waiters are polite and friendly. It's a good idea to eat here because you will like the food and also the vibrant atmosphere. Plus the show of people on the crowded streets of the Ioanina - old town.

It took us a few days to decide what to do with this review. It will be long and honest, because we believe in giving fair feedback. We always read other guests’ reviews carefully before choosing where to dine – this time, we didn’t. This review is based on a single visit. When we arrived, the restaurant was not busy at all. We were seated upstairs. The interior was lovely – beautiful furniture and tasteful décor. The background music created a pleasant, relaxed dinner atmosphere. We ordered a bottle of wine, a couple of beers, and some sparkling water. Drinks were all great – no complaints there. For starters, we had a salad. The flavour was lovely, and the ingredients fresh. However, we were surprised that the prosciutto – supposedly the star ingredient – was missing. When we pointed this out, the waiter explained they use crispy little bits instead and kindly brought us some extra. In our opinion, that was a bad idea – they had no taste or substance and didn’t add anything to the dish. The menu description here is misleading and should be changed. We were still enjoying our starter when the waiter suddenly brought out our mains. Honestly, that is unacceptable. There was no space left on the table, and the assumption seemed to be that we’d just grab our salad plates and make room. A basic rule: don’t prepare and serve mains while guests are still eating their starter. Clear the plates first, then bring freshly cooked mains, hot and ready. In our case, the mains had clearly been sitting in the kitchen, waiting for us to rush through our salad. Mains: We had the pork slices and a pasta dish that was supposed to be filled with prawns and sausage in saffron sauce. The pork was excellent – smoky, soft, and generous in portion. Big enough for us to share. And we did end up sharing – because the pasta turned out to be completely empty. No filling. The sauce was tasty, but we tasted nothing resembling saffron. The dumpling-style pasta was shaped like triangles, but there was simply no room inside for any filling. A few tiny bits of carrot and spring onion were squished in, but that was it. I’ve never experienced something like this at a restaurant before. According to the staff, I was the first person to say anything about it. To their credit, the waiter was professional and immediately passed our feedback to the kitchen. The dish was removed from the bill. Still, I would have preferred to pay and receive the meal I was promised. We come to a restaurant to enjoy great food and wine – not to be disappointed and go half-hungry. Would we return? Maybe. The place has potential. We hope the owners will read this honest review and use it as constructive feedback to make some changes – because this place could be great with a few improvements.

A great restaurant in a lovely part of Ioannina. I had good options as a vegetarian and my husband really enjoyed his lamb and potato dish. Well composed and presented. We also enjoyed the local Stala beer. The complimentary chocolate cake was a nice treat at the end of a fabulous meal.

An exceptional spot for relaxed fine dining in a classical ambience, just off the lake and away from the usual touristic places. Never before have I had vegetable carpaccio and pumpkin risotto, both weee magnificent.

Amazing place! The food was delicious! The carpaccio salad and carpaccio beef out of this world! We had the tagliata with aubergine puree and truffle oil, beef with mushrooms and beef tongue with celeriac puree! Each one of them unique! At the end they treated us with walnut pie with chocolate! One of our favorites while in Epirus, definitely a locals place, with good home cooking, a large variety of greek and local dishes, and wonderful service from a highly entertaining staff. This place will seem familiar to you if you ever went to a cafeteria style restaurant where they actually show you the dishes they have on the menu and then serve them out right away. So glad we had a chance to try this place out and I am very happy to recommend it to any locals or travelers to Ioannina.

They are friendly, they speak English. They have English menu. Portions are enormously big, so don't order more than one dish per person. Prices are very comfortable. They served us sweets in the end without charge. I recommend you guys to try meat pie, it's full of meat. If you are vegetarian, go for gemista, it's pepper and tomato filled with tasty rice. Only thing that made me upset here, is that they included two breads in the menu although we didn't touch bread. It was just 2 euro extra, and service was good, so we didn't make a problem out of it. But if you are conscious about it, pay attention to bread.

I thought that this would be a value for money restaurant for university students. But the prices were expensive for the quality. 11.50euro for a meat dish and 9.80euro for a mousaka. And 2 euros for bread. I liked that the music was quiet. The owner is very friendly. But it's not value for money.

Great experience at this Italian restaurant. It is located in an alleyway away from the bigger terraces allowing for a cozy atmosphere. The food was high quality. This was one of my best experiences in Greece. It is a nice little restaurant with Italian cuisine and lots of personality. The fresh sea foods dishes were delicious and even pizza was a piece of art. All this accompanied by the best jazz / blues music and the sight of the medieval walls of Ioannina. If you search for this place, just make sure to take a good look around, it is kind of hidden in an alley, we almost missed it.

We were 4 friends. Arrived there to have a look to the historic building and were welcome by Vesilk who can speak our language. There was a small trio of Greek live music which match the dining atmosphere perfectly. The owner was so lovely to puts the lights up in the right part of the building asa I told him that I was going to take around to make pics. When the meal arrived we were more than enthusiast. The food was very good!!! 😊 I had the cherry tomato salad and the beef cheek ragu with potato mousseline and baby carrots. The salad was amazing (5/5), the feta cheese mousse was one of the best I've ever tried ( I don't eat often feta cheese) (btw the onion wasn't the spring one but just onion ;) ) The beef was also very good!! It's the first time I tried beef cheeks and I really liked them. The service was very gentle and kind!! I loved the place and I'll definitely come again ❤️

This was the only place on our 2 week Western Greece trip were the food was truly exceptional. Hidden in the quiet coolness of the stone castle grounds, I imagine this would be a wonderful respite from the summer heat. The service was personable with friendly and knowledgeable servers who were able to guide us through the menu and suggest wine pairings. The salad was to die for and the pasta glorious. A wonderful restaurant behind the walls of the Fortress, very close to the Main Gate. An incredible atmosphere of coziness and hospitality, great food - a modern reading of classic dishes, with an eye for small details. We ordered several things, everything was very tasty, but my favorite was the mushrooms with butter and balsamic, as well as the slow-cooked beef cheeks with mashed potatoes. Very good selection of wines. Great staff of young and smiling people who approach the guests with unobtrusive concern. I am very glad that we discovered the restaurant, which is still quite new, but has great potential.

Stopped here in Ioannina while visit family. I’m from Chicago. This place has an Awesome menu and the portions are very plentiful and authentic. I had the Beefteki and it was as if my grandmother made it. I highly recommend to dine here when in the area.

There's no denying that the place is pretty, with a lovely garden where we sat and enjoyed the evening. The jazzy elevator-style tunes, while initially relaxing, became monotonous after a while. It felt like a tourist-pleasing choice, and we wished for something different. The menu went beyond traditional Greek cuisine, attempting to cater to a wide range of culinary preferences. This made it pricier compared to other options in the area. However, the food itself was excellent, particularly the meat dishes. Whether it was the chicken, pork, or even the hamburgers, everything was perfectly cooked and flavorful. The portions were also generous, and we washed it all down with some refreshing beer. The dessert options were a bit limited, and the absence of tea and the availability of only capsule coffee were disappointing downsides. Considering the overall experience, the price of approximately 25 euros per person felt fair for an enjoyable evening at Seiros.

Very rude and arrogant reception! The place was almost empty and they asked me if I had a reservation. I told them my hotel had called them and they said they were open. They did not mention that a reservation was needed. They embarrassed in front of the four customers at two tables in a restaurant with about thirty empty tables. It is a great place with a great atmosphere. The food is amazing, I ordered steak premium ( I got a t bone), and it was fresh, tasty, and juicy. The prices are good as well. The only problem I had was that they mentioned on the menu different cuts ( Ribeye, t-bone, and beef fillet), so I asked the waitor, and he wasn't clear about the information he provided. I thought that I could choose which cut I wanted, but I ended up having a T-bone, which was well garnished with fries and veggies on the side along with chimichurri sauce.

Just perfection, the food is amazing and the service is impeccable. I rarely take pictures of food, but this was by far the best armenonville I've had. The service was so kind and attentive. The waiter would come outside in the sweltering heat every few seconds to (subtly) check if I needed anything, while I was the only person sitting outside, and at least 2 other people (I guess management) came to ask if everything was ok with my food. We informed the staff that was food wasn’t good, and there wasn’t an option to take the burnt meats off the bill. After we paid, someone came over and gave us an option to get something else, but we were running low on time, my appetite was gone at that point, so I declined. I’m not sure if they saw me taking pictures of the food and got worried about a bad review. It was our first time in Ioannina, and maybe it just wasn’t to our taste pallets, but I’d say avoid the Kontosouvlis. It’s such a shame because the atmosphere is very nice, and it did take quite a while. Their other items on the menu may be better.

We’ve been to this store many times and everything has always been great. But today we had the rudest service of our lives. The guy clearly couldn’t be bothered – in short, an impossible person. That said, the store itself is good.

An excellent cafe with very polite staff. I chose waffles and ice cream here, which were very delicious. The environment of this coffee shop is very big. I definitely recommend this coffee shop.

We ordered waffles and one burger. Everything was very nice and waffles were very good but this burger must have been cursed. We waited 45 min. for it to come. We asked twice the staff about the burger and they said that kitchen was busy while the restaurant was barely half full. When they finally brought burger the staff told us that a little bit of patience and respect would be nice.

Although mushroom risotto is very good, on our last visit a grumpy waitress ruined our dinner. There were many empty tables uncleaned with dishes from the previous customers, which remained uncleaned during the whole duration of our visit. I had to wait a lot to have the table cleaned and for her to take the order for food, but once she brought the food she disappeared. My kid wanted dessert but she was nowhere to order and had to get him some ice cream from a shop nearby. The waitress only appeared after we had finished and we asked for the bill. She saw the empty ice cream cup and raising her voice said that we shouldn't have done that, as they are not a street market. When I told her that we would have ordered one of their deserts called Paris Brest but she was nowhere to order with the place being almost empty from customers, she disputed that, and insulted us calling us liers and kept arguing. I emphatically asked for the bill again, which she kept stalling, we paid and finally left. I mentioned the issue to another member of staff at the bar before leaving.

Cozy and warm place where you can enjoy your coffee or food. All dishes were tasteful with fresh ingredients! Do not dare to leave this place without trying the Paris Brest!!! One of the best desserts that I had ever had! Keep up the good work!

They offer Dammann Freres tea and the dessert selections were great, unfortunately they are a bit too sweet. The waffles are great, tho.

If you want a stylish America Burger with a nice view of the old market of Ioannina from above, then Burger Home is the best choise you have!!! The above state plus clean toilets and no smoking area inside but also good prices for the quality of the dishes lead to the conclusion that you have to visit this place!!

Overall it was an average experience. We visited for dinner. The atmosphere was nice for indoor tables, not for outside. We ordered a special pizza, a roka salad and a pasta mama Rosa. For pizza, it was too thin as when you cut separate the slide, they all fell apart. The salad was too heavy on the dressing, it became munchy before we even finished it. However, the pasta dish was good. The price was alright.

We tried the truffle pizza in 2023 and I was dreaming to come back and it it again. Fortunately this year we were in the area and we went again. One of a kind experience. I've never in my life seen a restaurant like this one. The coziest place I've ever seen. Everything was delicious, everything. We had a salad, greens pie, tzaziki, cheese pie, noodles with beef and apple pie with ice cream for dessert. My whole family including my husband, my parents and my 10 and 12 year old enjoyed. And the owners are so welcoming lovely. Don't skip this one. And don't be deceived like we were thinking is was tiny with only 3 tables, there is seating inside and on both sides of the building. And GREAT music to boot

I came here tonight for dinner. The food was perfect. A tomato salad, a very tender beef and pasta main, a glass of wine and coffee and brandy. It is a small, intimate, old fashioned restaurant serving honest, local food that's full of flavour. Highly recommended.

My 6 friends and I stumbled upon this amazing place that not only cooks amazing food and serves great coffee, but provides an environment that is inclusive and genuine! We came with no reservations and yet they fit us in with open arms and with staff that were unlike any average hosts... embracing us like local friends, passionate about their skills and the local products they use. In the USA, there are no places like this, serving REAL local Greek food, with local Greek village passion, or the environment created from generations of prideful yet humbled Greek families. Places like this aren't built overnight, but is built from generations of folks with big hearts and kind minds. If you go, please tell them their tall beef loving friend ~Paul~ sent you. We are all going tomorrow again, as one goodbye wasn't enough!

Kostas was a friendly face and very interesting person to talk to. He and his partner have recently finished renovating this cute and cozy cafe. I had good coffee, delicious traditional bean soup and wonderful bread here. I popped in for a quick coffee and stayed over 1 hour.

Using authentic, high-quality local ingredients, the chef created a sophisticated and creative tasting experience with flavors we had never encountered before. We warmly recommend visiting this restaurant — it’s truly special. On top of that, the service we received from Michael and Georgia was so kind and heartfelt, it really made our evening. This is perhaps one of our most favorite restaurants ever. The staff were incredible- they knew where all of the locally sourced ingredients came from and were super friendly. We actually ate here twice - once for lunch and then again for dinner- because we loved it so much. We met several others doing the same thing! The food was an imaginative, sumptuous execution of Greek cuisine. I will always remember the beef cheeks in Demi glacé tomato sauce with orzo and cheese, their smoked fish salad with passion fruit sauce, mushroom stuffed dolma, rabbit and pasta dish, pulled lamb with lemon and dill, and coffee French toast. They should be celebrated. I hope to return someday.

Love this place. Came last year and enjoyed it so much I knew I would return. Next year will be bringing my daughter and after the pictures i sent her, she really wants to come to Ioannina now. Photos are in opposite order from the menu....

The last night in Greece. Wanted to try more modern Greek food and I was not disappointed! As the lunch was too late, we could not take degustation menu but all dishes we ordered were perfectly seasoned with complexity and layered textures. The local varieties of wines were also very interesting and worth trying. Overall the experience was very special and we would like to come back to try the menu with wine pairing next time.

after being in Ioannina for a couple days, this delightful place was closed and we were very sad, and then low and behold on our last night, it was open. We were thrilled to get a chance to try it out and were not disappointed. the food was spectacular, and though a large party showed up while we were seated, our food came out in a timely manner and everything was fantastic. I'm still not sure why they were closed, so maybe call ahead, it was a rainy evening or we would have sat outside, but the inside was cozy and they were showing old tv shows on the tv. the owner was fantastic and happy to explain anything we had questions about and the food was absolutely delicious. one of the best we've had. 2 thumbs way up.

While walking around the lake in Ioannina I found this great place. The lady who served me was very kind and polite. My order was managed quickly. I was eating a mix of starters only and I enjoyed them a lot. The taste was great! I really recommend this restaurant.

This is a family affair. Lady and her husband in the kitchen and the most excellent service. The food was amazing. The wine very good. A plethora of beer options and a menu with clearly marked vegan and gluten free options. We had a great time.

I just arrived in Ioannina and walked around the walled castle area. Stopped here for authentic Greek food. I sat outside to watch the action and told the waitress to just start bringing me some good Greek dishes. Wow! Chicken baked with plums, apples and raisins. Baked eggplant with onions, peppers and feta cheese. A large dish of fava beans with chopped onions. Great dinner! I suppose if you know what you want you can order off the menu but I am new to Greek food.

A must try when you are in the area. Very fresh seafood and all in all great food selection. The atmosphere and hospitality is top notch.

A real hidden gem, best food and flavours in Ioannina. Every dish cooked fresh, unique and full of flavours, tapas style with some with Samos Island influence. Great portions for a good price. The owners are so friendly and relaxed, but the food arrives very quickly. Nice music, a few outside tables with nice view towards the lake. I came every day and tried different dishes every time. A special place, highly recommend.

They still allow smoking inside. We have 2019, Greece needs to move on. The food is super tasty, the tsipouro is good and the prices reasonable. Pretty interior and fitting music. Would be a 5-star if I did not had to wash the clothes and take a shower after a visit there.

We are vegan so the vegan burrito and tacos were not so tasty. The salad and guacamole were ok.

We were really looking forward to trying pocoloco whilst visiting Ioannina. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. The veggie burger was two slices of mushroom in a large bap. I have never experienced a restaurant trying to pass this off as a burger before. When I questioned the server they were quite rude and asked "well what did you want" I wanted a veggie burger not two slices of mushroom and charged 10 euros. Unfortunately there was no care or offer of apology. Maybe we went on an off night judging by the other reviews, but the service and food was just not enjoyable. We spent a lovely few days in Ioannina and visited many lovely restaurants. Just a shame we finished our trip with this one.

Delicious mexican food. Specifically recommend the Mixta Mexicana, it's perfect for sharing and trying out various tastes.

We were pretty indecisive about ordering but we saw the place has very good reviews. We ordered the sweet potato fries with cheddar Tacos Pork BBQ, two Rollos Cubana and a cocktail. We payed 49€. The chicken in the Rollos Cubana was quite dry and a little bit too much. The rest of the food wasn’t bad but not at all worth the price. Very mediocre and apart from the Rollos Cubana, wasn't even similar to Mexican kind of food.

My experience at this restaurant was very disappointing. I ordered a cheeseburger… and I asked for tomatoes and lettuce on my burger, the waitress advised if it’s not included in the menu I can’t have it. The cheese burger said it was cheddar cheese, What I received was cheese whizz. The burger was half the size of my palm . For the price they charge the service and quality of food was unsatisfactory.

It's an excellent restaurant, with beautiful scenery to the lake of the city. The service was always present and helpful, but we weren't informed that the place has "Daily Meat Cuts" and we were presented only with the menu, which didn't include those. Meaning we knew half the actual dishes available. Other than that, food was truly well cooked and tasty. A great experience. Pay a visit if you ever come close!

Everything that we tried it was excellent. Very well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was nice and all the decor and design blend well with the area. Also they had very good list with wines .Last but not least the service was very nice and served us like we was the only ones there even though it was a pretty full night, according us all through the night, asking if we need anything and so on .

Nice soeciality coffee. Once visiting there were 3 toys of single origin beans for espresso and 3 for a filter. We had a nice and relaxing experience drinking coffee there.

A beacon of light shining on the lake. Probably the best coffee I’ve had in Greece so far. The selection of different beans is what sets this place apart. Chosen by the owner who was kind enough to explain and take me through the different options - he knows his stuff and it shows. The cakes a really solid as well, a wide selection that includes a vegan option. I tried some of the tea too and the Sweet Limetta & Pocket Hercules blends were light, refreshing and had good flavour. Coffee - 8.6: I tried three of the beans but the Brazil & Columbian origin blend was by far the best. Smooth & subtle, it has plenty of flavour to enjoy but at no point does it overwhelm the palate. The milk work is very close to perfection.

We went here three times during our stay in Ioannina! The coffee and atmosphere kept us coming back. We spent one day working here and there are some very comfortable larger tables for coworking inside and outside. Everyone was very friendly and the marble table inside is very cool! We’ll be back!

They speak good English. Staff is friendly and nice. We tried yogurt, ciabatta and Taj mahal tea. Ciabatta could have more salmon though. Taj mahal tea was a real black tea and very hard to find such good tea. Give it a try if you visit. Coffe was good as well.

This cafe gem is NOT to be missed! It easily serves the best coffee in Ioannina (maybe even in Epirus!) Kostas, the owner, is so friendly and passionate about specialty coffee. He has a wealth of knowledge to share with anyone who asks. We’ve gone back 3 times after our first experience because we wanted to try more of their single origin coffees. We had lunch there as well- they have one vegetarian option (the bruschetta) which is small but very tasty and flavorful. Also, it is laptop friendly too but a bit loud for working.

It's just behind the town hall, and it's a sleek and accessible spot loved by young people. It serves freshly roasted coffee and brunch dishes, offering a welcoming space for everyone. I loved it.

This pub exceeds most people's expectations. Thematic pub music and interior make for a totally awesome atmosphere. Events and live music are often in play as well. Along with the great service, this place can absolutely satisfy any beer tastes with a menu of approximately 150 different beer choices from all over the world. There are really many quality pub food choices. Beer brothers always surprises us with new ideas concerning anything a pub can offer. Its a "must go" for everyone and it has been the reason for many to start liking pubs! I hope you do too. PS: the owner rocks!!!

There’s a bit of negative feedback here on the prices. While I understand that, it’s important to point out that there’s ALOT of different beers at various price points. Also I was served 2 different tapas that came with my beer which were delicious and homemade. The service was also amazing—friendly with a smile, I saw the staff outside explaining beers to guests and also actively cleaning down tables and chairs after guests had left. If you want a cheap beer go elsewhere, if you want to support a great local Greek establishment with honest, hardworking people, with great vibez then go here.

A lovely new(ish) pub/bar by the lake front in the city. Nice 'pubby' feel inside by Greek standards and a very large range of beers from all around the world, including lots of smaller Greek breweries. Service was very friendly and attentive and the filema that accompanied the beers was quite tasty too. Will be back next time I'm in Ioannina!

8€30 for a 33cL bottle of a more-than-average and non-imported NEIPA, am I paying the full tourist price maybe? (for transparency I also said it to the person who seemed to be the owner, not really got his point of view in return). Basically no beer menu available (convenient for the bar: no prices to show), had to ask four times what's on tap because "he knows what I want to drink". Well, it seems he didn't know that I am a brewer and I'm crossing half of Europe by bicycle, so I'd rather drink local than industrial stuff from anywhere.

I was in Ioannina for a couple of weeks in February and found myself returning to this place again and again. Wonderfully warm and civilised atmosphere - Erectus, i.e Homo Erectus, refers to a state of development, not arousal. Friendly - though not overbearingly so - staff. Drinks list featuring some fine regional wines and beers. A few of the items on the food menu are prohibitively expensive - my reason for subtracting a star on the food rating - but on the whole superbly prepared-and-presented dishes from quality ingredients at prices that are standard for good restaurants in the centre of town.

Fantastic brunch spot in Ioannina with outstanding food, friendly and attentive service, excellent coffee, and a perfect ambiance with great music. Highly recommended for a relaxed and enjoyable brunch experience!

Starting from the atmosphere, beautiful space with good street view and nice interior. Staff was friendly, helpful, and always around. Now food wise, it's decent, surely not the best, and not worthy of the hype they've given it. Prices unfortunately do not really reflect the dishes, overpriced, truly sad thing. If they were to drop prices about 30 to 50% in some dishes, mayhe then, and only then, it may be worth it. Right now, I would advise against visiting. Truthfully, I can't really find a reason to reccoment it.

Great place to stop for brunch during a rainy day!

Great place, owned by three lovely women. Visited to get brunch and got greeted by a nice atmosphere. The interior was tastefully decorated according to the place‘s theme, which was a mix of different cultures (Italian, Portuguese, German, Swedish), and the music that was also contributing to that integrity. There are many options on the menu for every hour of the day, we got the asparagus dish and churros, they were so fresh and tasty! overall, the staff were very friendly and the place very nice to chill at, while it never got boring because of the never-resting preparation area inside and the passerbys outside. We will definitely be coming back to try more😊

This is the area’s fine dining choice, it’s the most upscale you can get; just keep that in mind of your come here and still see patrons in super relaxed casual attire, because that’s just how Europe goes. The mountain top location gives the best views for the area, very picturesque and you’ll be taking lots of pics with the scenic background. All the dishes are pic taking worthy. It’s a nice relaxing place. Keep in mind that there are several places that border this restaurant, we were hearing a children’s recital from an amphitheater behind us, and afterwards there was live Greek music, possibly a wedding or some celebratory event. There’s also a casual cafe in the front area, and a separate playground for children which there’s a minor entrance fee (not part of the restaurant). This is a must go to restaurant. You can even make reservations online with them. I believe it’s the best steak to be had in the area.

I have been to this restaurant each time I visited Ioaninna. It is a classy place, which offers great views and great service. I have to admit that the food is amazing! I really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Unfortunately, my experience was affected by the way I was treated by one of the waitresses. She spoke to me in a very unfriendly and dismissive way, which I felt unnecessarily rude and unprofessional.

Inside the place was nicely decorated with posters of old advertising of different products. The waiters were all really friendly and we they recommended some really tasty food. The zucchini balls (kolokithokeftedes)were the best ones I have ever eaten. The metsovone grilled cheese was yummy. Overall the food was so tasty I didn't even get to take photos of it.

My family and I loved our stay at Kastro Guesthouse! This hotel is one of the most amazing and romantic ones we've ever stayed at! We stayed in room 12 it’s not with the other rooms it’s all by its self above the restaurant area. Amazing view!!! The other rooms are down in the parking lot area in a row. They stayed up playing music until midnight on a Sunday night. And the biggest heads up is the dog that’s up on the hill or dogs that bark 24 seven basically all night long not sure if it’s the owner’s dogs or somebody that’s up top but it is ridiculous.

The dishes were tasty and the service very good. The only minus was that they didn't have a cooler to keep the wine cold.

The garlic bread was good enough. Pepperone pasta was too salty. Fritata was one of the worst untasty things we've ever tasted. Pastaífi was untasty outside filled with a typical creamy mushrooms pasta that was tasty enough to be eaten. Greek salad was good enough but not like that you eat in a good tavern.

Had a very delicious tomato sauce pasta and vegan* wrap. The store doesn't understand vegan. There's actually mayonnaise in the wrap. When we asked them about it, they gave a vague answer that vegetarian is the same as vegan here... They are probably the very few place that have vegan or vegetarian options but they really need to get their labels right. Things are in the 3 to 5 euro range. Free Wi-Fi is very effy and didn't really work. There's free clean toilets though.

40 minutes for a spaghetti... I guess the were grinding the wheat to flour in order to make the spaghetti. Had to ask twice for the ETA only to be told that only the "chef" knows... Apparently I had to suggest that they ask him... I haven't eat yet and I'm already disappointed... Update: I just ate and my dish, shrimp spaghetti, had 5 frozen medium to small shrimps and a penne for some reason.. it was blunt and oily with no taste at all. I would not recommend this place unless it's an emergency...

Wow! Really good place, tasty food and very big portions it looks imposible to eat all food and prices are very low. Good place!!! Recomend!!!

I would have given 5 star but there is something missing in the originality of the dishes… service was great! fast and friendly. We didn’t eat pasta, as Italians we tend to avoid to prevent natural criticism being pasta our national dish, but I saw other people being served and by the look of it , it was inviting… maybe next time.! Congratulations anyway!

Food was nice and tasty. We had salad and cooked meat. Outdoors it was 41°C and we asked for water. It took more than 10 minutes before we got it and the fridge was just next to us. The service could be improved. The room had air-conditioning and it was nice to eat. A place to recommend for lunch or dinner, especially for meat lovers.

Food was absolutely awful. Had a steak, paid 13 euros and it felt like eating rubber. Schnitzels panning was very hard, making it a pain to eat, literally and metaphorically. Kontosouvli was poorly cooked, some parts not even having been cooked.

Ate 2 meet dishes and one Greek salad. The meet dished arrived with potato chips that were dry, but the meet was great. We took one chicken and one lamb it was delicious. The green pepper in the salad was not fresh and so was the onion, but over all it was nice. If you focus on the meet, they know how to make it

Hands down one of the best Gyros ive had in Greece!!! Ive been in this country for almost a month and this place blew me away... very friendly service who are easy to joke with. Good atmosphere although that is unprecedented to what the food is like. I had the large Pork Gyros and dont regret anything! Amazing meat, amazing bread, it all worked perfectly👍 Highly recommend this to anyone seeking a good, traditional Gryros🙌🏻

Convenient location, fast and polite service, big dishes. The meat was fresh and tasty, ice cream was served complimentary.

Very tasteful and huge gyros (the largest i have seen), 23cm for 4,5EUR. Big water 1 EUR. Centrally located, staff speaks English. I would come back again. P.s. the name means Vlachs or Aromanian, a domestic community in the Balkan peninsula. Many lived in Moskopole, Albania, but nowadays many in Romania, Greece, North Macedonia, etc.

We are traveling every year with our small sport plane to Europe, and always stop in Ioannina for refueling and overnight. We often have our dinner in Bagalogotos restaurant. The food is good and freshly made, the prices are fair and it's location in a quiet street away from the crowd is exactly what we need after a long day of flying.

Service is good, food tasty but nothing special, serving per dish could be better as well as prices, atmosphere is retro but well-maintained and clean

Great food, big portions, we weren't able to eat all of our meal! 😂 The service was quick, our waitress was polite but note that there aren't a lot of dishes with fish... All in all, it is a highly recommended tavern/restaurant at the city centre !

I love this place! Great street food, very stylish interior, passionable owner! You will feel the natural Greece with small outside tables, chairs, plates in rainbow colours. My warm recommendation!

For so many years in Ioannina I wanted to come and always changed my mind (big mistake after all) we talking about one of the best Italian I have ever tried and definitely the best in the city. Amazing atmosphere, although the location does not help at all (on the street) as the music is perfect and the place is beautiful 5/5*. Polite and prompt service 5/5*. Now let's get to the food, we started with the appetizer pasteli with goat cheese amazing and with the honey they tied extreme 4.8/5* and it is definitely recommended for a try. The salad with burrata was the only unpleasant dish not because it was not tasty or good. The burrata was juicy and the sauce amazing but the cherry tomatoes were not so good I don't know if they were stale (I don't think so) or too overcooked, however if they were crispy the dish would get more stars 4/5*. The "country" pizza was rich in ingredients and delicious with a great cooking 4.8/5*. The rigatoni with pesto was very well cooked since the pasta was al tente and the basil was fresh 4.9/5*. The pappardelle with mushrooms was probably the best dish and the one that will get 5/5* and definitely the one I will order again the next time that i will visit this place. Finally, the tiramisu had very nice savagiare with notes of coffee, the cream was a little weak, I think they need to change something in this dish 3.8/5*. In general, the restaurant is amazing if it were somewhere in the central of the city it would have been the FIRST choice. Overall 4.8/5* unreservedly recommended.

We were excited to find half way near Ioannina in Greece, an amazing Italian chef restaurant. Dishes surprising in quality and raw materials, in creativity. We sat inside in front of a large window. The talented chef helped us decide what to order. The dishes were wonderful, Caesar salad, pasta carbonara, the pizza, the cocktail - everything was perfect! An Italian surprise in Greece. On a particularly sad day, you made us happy in our hearts. Thank you ❤️ Very recommended.

It is an excellent restaurant hidden just outside the city, with great Italian flavors. The service was friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was lovely with great scenery if you'd sit inside. Above all, the food was delicious, with nicely combined tastes and options for everyone. I advise visiting at least once if you ever find yourself near!

I literally have no words for this place! UNBELIEVABLE food! Best pizza I had ever had - and I’ve been in many places including Italy. Their pasta dishes were exceptional! Their customer service top notch and the establishment was very elegant - attention to detail was very obvious! Looking forward to visiting Ionnina again just so that we can go again! PS you can see them prepare the food and that in itself tells you all you need to know!

Being a food lover and chef myself, I can say that I was truly impressed by this establishment. Despite its pretty unpretentious location the guys at this place are making a small miracle. We were just passing through and wanted something to eat and everything was perfect - absolutely delicious food, professional service and a beautiful setting, all for a fair price. Having spend a substantial amount of time in Greece as a foreigner, I know that this is not an easy thing to come about in this country. I highly recommend the bruschetta tartare.

Great quality Italian cuisine, fusion with inspiration. Small place so book early, especially on a weekend. Limited parking. Friendly, quick service and nice atmosphere with Italian music playing in the background. Reasonable prices, expect to pay around 17-20 euros per person for a salad and a main course. Definitely recommended, one of the best choices in town, if not the best, for Italian food.

Let's put the good bits first. The main course meat dishes were really good. However the starter aubergine Crockett and halloumi grilled were mediocre. Furthermore initially their attitude towards us were strange that improved later.

It was our first time dining at this restaurant. We came without a reservation, but the staff kindly found a table for us. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and served in generous portions. The staff were friendly, and the prices were very reasonable. Overall, a great experience!

Nice atmposphere. Although I was seates in a place where I couldn't see anything. So I felt I was trapped in the corner. I ordered the grilled liver. It was tasty. Not the best I have ever eaten but tasty. The chips along side though were not edible. The best dish was the grilled zucchini. The green sald was ok. But the tzatziki plate looked poor. My friend ordered the kontosouvli pork but it wasn't what he expected. Another friend ordered the burger which never came. She ordered it again but it came semi raw and when she asked them to grill it a bit more , it was brought back half of the primal quantity. Staff was indifferent and didn't care. I wouldn't visit the place again.

Both the salad, the pasta, and the meat dish were tasty. Even though the place was crowded, we didn't have to wait a lot for our food. This place was recommended by a person living in this city and I can definitely see why!

Very nice modern restaurant close to Ioannina lake offering a wide variety of local dishes with a modern twist! Try the Giaourtlou(Greek meatball with yogurt and tomato sauce), the pork tigania and the chicken schnitzel with mushroom sauce! All of them very tasty and the portions quite big! The service was also very good!

Tasty food! Great presentation and flavour. Several vegetarian options but limited vegan options. The chickpea meatballs (falafel) and smashed potatoes were delicious !!

No professional behaviour from the manager when I complained for the disgusting and dirty toilet! He just told me that the customers got the toilet dirty and they cannot have someone to clean all the time, they clean every 30 minutes and that’s it! Their cleaning schedule is not my problem, I need a clean and decent place when I visit their toilets. I will never visit this place again!

There is not much to say about this restaurant. The food is cheap, the service staff is always kind, friendly and quick and everything tastes amazing. The only complaint I have is that there are several flies flying around your food at all times - but that can’t be blamed on the restaurant. I have dined here several times and would definitely recommend the fried cheese or “saganaki” as well as the pork souvlaki. These are just my 2 personal favorites, but everything on the menu is just as fresh and just as good!

Long wait to be seated as 2 people, since 4 person tables are kept for companies of 3 or more even when the place is half empty. Waiters mostly stand around while food has a long wait time. Food was plain bad. Pork sticks tough and badly burned, chicken sticks of very poor quality (garbage) meat. Do not recommend.

I have been 3 times there because food is nice but that’s all. I had bread in the receipt but we didn’t have on the table . Also we had sparkling water but in receipt it was charged as juice for 6.90 €. All 3 glasses of wine were very dirty, because I saw 5 fingers on each one of them. When the weather is bad it is very noisy inside due to the wind. When it’s +12 degrees it’s hot. I will not be back…

Very nice and picturesque place by the lake. Italian cuisine with some twists. I really enjoyed the place, it was calm with nice music and magnificent views. Great service too. Would visit again!

One of the best places in the city of Ioannina to eat. Delicious dishes await every time I visit the restaurant. I strongly suggest strozzapreti with shrimps. The personnel is very friendly, polite and always with a smile on their faces. Last but not least, its location right next to the lake, makes it unique. Day or night, you can hear the small waves crashing gently on the rocks, that the restaurant lies on. Together with the tranquil music that plays in the background, make the whole experience very atmospheric, especially at night. Me and my husband spend almost all our Sunday noons there. It is now a tradition.
