Visited on 07/08/2025 Why 4, and not 5*? FOOD • I had breakfast here. I’ve read through the reviews prior to visiting and I agree with the food being lukewarm. Some of which were relatively cold. The plates (especially the small ones) were quite dirty. The sausages were easily broken - none of the food was warm. It was cold. For this reason, I’m dropping the star rating to 3* (food only). ——————————————————————— SERVICE • The service here is amazing, filled with kind staff in which they greet you and show a good standard of customer service skills, which is required for this job. ——————————————————————— ATMOSPHERE • Apart from general conversations, the interior is relatively quiet at breakfast. Not sure about lunch, or dinner though as I only ever came here for breakfast which was today. ——————————————————————— OVERALL • This place is good if you want to dine within a quiet restaurant. ———————————————————————

It's not too bad for a brewers fayre, the food quality is never going to be too great (I've been told the carvery is better than their main menu). Staff are pleasant enough but we did forgotten about a couple of times despite it being quiet. Seems like it'll be great for kids.

This place gets an OK rating from me. The food was lovely, hot and tasty but it took just over 45 minutes to order!! That was so long.... I needed a drink and to sit down, but there was only one chap serving, doing the food orders AND the drinks.. This was very difficult when meeting up with friends for a catch up and only have 3 hrs parking!! there should have been someone else, or even TWO others serving. As I said food was great, but due to service, I won't be returning.

This is an excellent brewers fayre pub. Their £5 menu is incredibly good value with reasonable quality and very well cooked food. Indoor play area is great for kids. Sadly they have removed the outdoor play area.

Went here 4 nights in a row when staying in the premier inn next door. Friendly welcome from the chap behind the bar each time, quickly seated, kind and attentive staff, fast service, tasty food and well priced. The banoffee cheesecake dessert is delicious.

Food was amazing, and came very quickly. Service was brilliant, i had a lovely waitress Grace who was polite and had a beautiful smile and positive energy. All together lovely experience, felt very welcome. Will definitely return!!

This place is so depressing. The food is horrible, the pizza (£12.99) was like a frozen one from Iceland. Everything tasted microwaved. There is one lady who works there who is the most miserable person I’ve ever met. I don’t think she’s ever heard of service with a smile. Service with a grunt maybe? The refillable drinks are handy. That’s probably the only good thing I can say about this place. Pretty sure I got food poisoning from the chicken goujons. Yuk. Will not be back.

Extremely good and rapid service. Immediate service. As soon we walked in those doors we got our table. We then waited for 2 minutes and we were asked what drinks and food we wanted. The drinks came a minute (or so) later. The pizza came in quick succession. It was delicious. 5* Visited on 17/02/2025.

We stopped here for lunch a few days ago on our first trip back to this village for several years. It was definitely a good decision! The food was superb and the service fast, and excellent. We were served by Lucy who made sure we were well looked after, and provided extra plates so that we could share the two different meals we had ordered between us both. Wonderful food and drinks, great friendly service and hardly any waiting at all. We both felt completely stuffed afterwards, but very satisfied! Definitely worth more than five stars and we'd go back next time we visit.

This place is outstanding. The food is lovely and the staff that worked last night 3/10/2025 were amazing. they were incredibly friendly and attentive. I would like to highlight Issy for special praise. my son is 18 years old and has autism. he has a learning delay and sometimes going out for a meal is not always a happy experience for us. we are often made to feel unwelcome by other customers and, indeed, by staff. Issy was truly fantastic with him. she made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived, nothing was too much trouble for her and she made the evening even more enjoyable. my son was not in a very sociable mood when we arrived I was expecting the evening to be a challenge. However, he was fine all evening and this was in no small part to Issy. I think she is an amazing asset to you. I am a member of several Facebook groups for autistic families and I will be posting on them all later telling people what an amazing time we had at your restaurant. please lass on my thanks to Issy and the amazing team you had there last night.

This is a great place to visit for a choice of breakfast items. The staff are amazing, helpful and efficient. My only issue is that although they do decaf coffee, there is no decaf black tea. (They do offer fruit teas). However, as I carry decaf teabags in case of emergencies, the staff were very happy to provide me with hot water and milk. This meant our family group could all enjoy the excellent breakfast together

The experience was decent...after young and inexperienced waiters (but that's not a huge problem) you had to keep looking after them and calling them if you wanted something. The food was good but not great, but I really liked the soup. For the dessert I would only give 1 star out of 5 for two reasons: 1 - All the dessert is prepared in a different location and it is most likely delivered in the morning every day. 2 - No one bothers to make at least 1 dessert out of the 5-6 on the menu, and the tiramisu had no eggs, for example, and I didn't like the unmistakable "factory" taste.

I enjoyed food in this branch of wildwood, place is quite spacious, we were being served well as well. We as group had ordered mixed olives, foccacia, primavera pizza, baked aubergine, Margherita pizza , grilled courgette & goats cheese pizza with salad, vegan lasagne, torta della nonna I really enjoyed baked aubergine, found it quite flavourful & so was my vegan lasagne. Even foccacia was quite fresh & warm Dessert was the only thing that I didn’t enjoy much. I would recommend this place if one is around braintree.

Cannot recommend the Braintree venue more highly. The staff are friendly and extremely well trained. They are a very happy team with excellent management. Nothing is too much trouble. We are regular customers and are treated like friends. The menu is great as well.

Went in first time with my friend for dinner, and it tasted good. The staff is great and something what we need. Think will back again for another different menu.

Ordered from here for the first time. Really good, flavourful food. Bit too spicy for me, and the lamb was a little tough, but I would deffo try this place again (dining in) in future. Portion sizes are huge too!

Sohel was a lovely waiter and he was so accommodating - he was so nice and helped us through the menu. He is a hard working man and deserves a pay rise. Over all the food here was great - we came here for our wedding anniversary and they did not dissatisfy - in fact nailed the taste and vibe. Come to Lounge India for the best flavours !!

Attended to and seated straight away. Drinks and poppadom ordered as we sat. Main course ordered and reasonably quickly cooked and at the table. All food was cooked very nicely, tasty and about the right portion sizes. Overall a very nice dinner.

Visited and ate at the Lounge Indian restaurant this evening and wow the food was amazing and so delicious. If it wasn’t a 4 hour drive from my home I would visit every week. Friendly and attentive staff what a treat.

Never had a bad word to say but tonight has been no good called up at 7:20 and ordered was rushed of the phone before I got asked if I wanted to pay cans or card as I what’s pay iver the phone tired to ring straight back and couldn’t get through to anyone as I was told it would be 1:15 minutes no more than that he assured me after 45 minutes of calling to try pay I had to go out my way with my kids to get cash it’s now been 2:15 since my order I have called over 20 times no answer what’s joke !!!

We all had a fantastic time last night celebrating our sons 18th birthday! So much delicious food to choose from! All cooked perfectly and very tasty. Great service and atmosphere. We will definitely be going back! Thank you

Eastern Aroma is quickly becoming a regular hang out for the family. The service is great the food is always good quality for the price. It is a great little place to go to keep everyone happy. The only downside side is the parking which could do with some space markers

With over 9.3 million views on my reviews and privileged to be in Googles top 10% of reviewers globally my opinions are always honest and thorough. I've been here a couple of times and the last time is wasn't as good. Although the food is fantastic it had a large group of men that loved to shout and swear and the staff just kept selling them alcohol and let them get on with it. There was a simular situation the time before too. The service is truly awful, the Chinese man with the glasses always left half our order off everytime and was slow to bring drinks. He literally bought 1 drink at a time from the bar!! This really marred out evening meal with family. It's not cheap and although the choices are varied there's a lot of repetitions.

Spent £70 for 2 people and the food was rubbish! The only thing that was nice was the spring rolls! Ribs where very tough could even get through them chicken was old a rubbery satay sauce very peppery unbearable! Was really not impressed would not recommend! We were the only 2 people in there I can really see why! Waste of money

After having had a few excellent takeaways from Eastern Aroma we were disappointed to experience a rather bland and watery selection of dishes on Saturday. The three dishes that contained chicken were particularly disappointing as the pieces of chicken were tasteless and unseasoned, they were just lumps that had been boiled or steamed and just added to a sauce. Hopefully it's a one off but very disappointing.

Well it was astonishing that eat as much as you can, could taste so good, utterly enjoyed it and it was so delicious, if only I could eat more, but once you reach that limit, there is no more space. However I would recommend this to anyone alone or with a group, as it was well clean and tidy and the staff where very polite. Deserves a five star in my mind. Thank you Eastern Aroma.

With a heavy heart I have to give this negative review. I had previously eaten here and had a positive experience. Unfortunately the special fried rice I ordered had 4 prawns 6 peas and a couple of tiny bits of chicken and pork, mostly plain rice, disappointing. The chow mein was supposed to be chicken but given special chow mein with 1 prawn peas and barely any chicken at all. It was mother's day so I can forgive the 1 hour wait time, but a bit excessive for take away. If you wait for a long time then your meal should be perfect. Don't think we will return

I had a wonderful experience at Merchant Spice. The food was absolutely delicious — full of flavor, beautifully presented, and clearly made with care. Every dish we tried was fresh and well-prepared, and the atmosphere of the restaurant made the evening even more enjoyable. I also want to highlight the excellent service. Tarek, who works there, went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. He was attentive, friendly, and truly made us feel welcome. It’s rare to come across someone so genuine and professional, and it really elevated the whole dining experience. I would highly recommend Merchant Spice to anyone looking for great food and outstanding hospitality. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Stunning restaurant with lovely fish tanks and beautiful decor. The waiter Traiq was very friendly and professional so much so I thought he was the owner! The food was amazing and one of the best Jalfrezi Baltis I've had in a long time. The naan was also really nice and I upgraded my naan to a garlic, chilli and cheese which I highly recommend. After they gave us a free spirit and thought the prices were very reasonable. Can't wait to come back again and I definitely recommend 💯👌🏻

Great meal out with friends. Veggie food was excellent, best I've had since eating in the east end of London. Highly recommend it. Staff were attentive but not overly so and the restaurant was clean. We couldn't fault it. Just a shame I don't live locally and can't get there more often!

We eat early, so only one's in there at first, so expect service to be good. I can imagine that it's a good atmosphere when bizzy. Food we had was most enjoyable drinks and food at reasonable prices.

Love the food, menu is very informative of ingredients, heat, allergies and spice I give it a 5/5 just for the menu. The food was awesome and service fantastic. What a great joy it was eating here. Wonderfully decorated interior with fish tank walls and more. Food was really good too. Lamb dish and special biryani went down like a treat.Kids also got what they wanted.

Ordered many times before but today was not good. They gave us raw chicken and tried telling me they didn't. At this point I want my money back and won't be a returning customer. This is clearly raw and won't be accused of lieing

The food didn't meet the expectation that I felt was portrayed by the restaurant, in my humble opinion. The curry sauce was indeed quite tasty but the curry itself was mainly potatoes and for the price I would expect a little bit more. The rice tasted similar to microwave rice from my local food store. It wasn't really that there was anything wrong with the food - it was just over priced and failed to meet expectations. The staff were very nice, friendly and I'm sure lovely people and I wish them no bad will.

Highly recommend balti night, been coming for years! Food is always piping hot when delivered, collecting your food is always a polite and great conversation. The best Indian in Braintree.

Can’t fault balti night always my go to for an Indian! Staff are lovely the delivery is quick and prices are good for the amount of food the dishes are huge! And we always have left overs! Will recommend balti night to anyone! Best in Braintree

After a long day of shopping at Freeport Village, we stopped at TGI Fridays in Braintree for lunch, and it was a great choice. The vibe was quiet, chill, and welcoming…exactly what we needed. We were greeted by Mandy, who was our server for lunch, and she was fantastic: polite, friendly, engaging, and professional throughout. We ordered the New York strip steak and a full rack of ribs, both served with fries and onion rings. We also shared mozzarella sticks to start and finished with a cinnamon cheesecake topped with ice cream (highly recommended by Mandy) and it was absolutely heavenly. The food was delicious, the portions generous, and the prices reasonable. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area.

A delicious bottomless dinner with excellent service! We were greeted by Mitch who was super lovely and really informative around the menu and upcoming new menu. We tried the new Miami Vice frozen cocktail which was lovely! For our ‘mains’ we enjoyed unlimited appetisers which is such a good deal. Eat as much or as little as you like for a really reasonable price! Sophie was our waitress for the evening who was really helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. Overall a really great experience and definitely a restaurant we would return to.

Food was excellent, some of the best we've had in a while. Atmosphere was lovely, we were sat by the fire which then got lit, which we loved. I allowed 2 hours, as I thought this would be enough time, however, service was slower then I expected, which was a shame as we didn't have time for desert. Server was lovely though, and when we said we had to leave, she got the bill straight away. Although the service was slow, it was nice not to be rushed and wish I had allowed more time. I had non alcoholic cocktails and they were lovely as well. Over all, strongly recommend, we will definitely be returning

Best Sunday Roast around ! We popped in On the off chance and so glad we did. We were welcomed and introduced to the staff by name (nice touch) and although no tables were available we were offered the sofa/chair area. We went for the Trio of meats as our main and it was delivered quite promptly and it was definitely good value, the food was beautifully presented and the veg and gravy served separately. I was so excited I forgot to take a before picture but I think you can see it’s quite the meal. All cooked to perfection All staff were friendly and helpful it was a real joy to be here. Give it a visit you won’t be disappointed I will be looking for others in the Vintage Inns chain. 10/10

What impressed me most was how accommodating they were with my dietary restrictions — I have a gluten intolerance and a nut allergy, and the team made sure to explain which dishes were safe for me, and even offered thoughtful alternatives without compromising on flavor. The food was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. I especially enjoyed beef burger, which was prepared with care and tasted fresh and vibrant. It’s rare to find a restaurant that takes allergies so seriously while still delivering such high-quality, creative cuisine. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for both a casual meal and a special night out. I left feeling not only satisfied but also reassured that my health and comfort were a priority. We had a party of 8 for a birthday celebration, chose private dining. The food we had, we chose a Roast, was lovely, very tasty, best we had anywhere. The service was great and ambience, would revisit. Libby Kez were great and chefs Rob Scott & Ollie amazing food. Recommend.

What lovely place this is. Booked lunch for my 29yr old daughters birthday. Menu is excellent. Food really well presented and cooked. Service was excellent too. Will definitely return. Oh, toilets decent too(always my mark for a good eatery🤣).

Had lunch at bills today as I was meeting my family while I was at work. We sat outside in the sun as the sun was shining which was amazing. Service was really quick and the food was very tasty, It did not disappoint. Our waitress was very lovely. Dogs can eat here too. They get their own dog bowl and we could pick from the dog menu! Also walked out with some pancakes to take back to my store team which they were very happy about :) 100% recommend.

We went to Bill’s Braintree for a catch up and dinner before the cinema and had a lovely time, we both really enjoyed our experience here. The décor of the restaurant was really nice and felt slightly classy, they permit dogs in the venue so if you’re a dog lover this is an ideal place to see some four-legged friends. One diner had their small dog in a forward facing baby carrier which was really sweet. The service was really good as well, we had three different waiting staff throughout our meal who were all quite attentive. The menu is nice and has some good options on it. I went for the Truffle Chicken Two Ways, and my friend the Classic Burger which came with fries. The staff were accommodating to swap my friend’s rosemary salted fries for regular salted fries at her request. My friend’s burger looked lovely and consisted of a beef patty, linseed bun, tomato, lettuce, house pickles, secret sauce and red onion. I really enjoyed my chicken, this was served chargrilled with truffle red wine jus and creamed potatoes alongside buttermilk crispy fried chicken and truffle mayonnaise. It was served with an extra pot of the jus, a lemon wedge and watercress which were all nice touches. The main was hot and a nice temperature to eat, though the Caesar Loaded Fries could have been warmer. These were still enjoyable to eat though. I chose a Golden Latte to drink, which was very fragrant and spiced. This consisted of turmeric, agave, ginger root, cinnamon, black pepper and coconut milk with edible flowers on top. It was very nice and something different to coffees that I’ve had previously. The restaurant also gives the option to swap to dairy-free milks (soya, oat or coconut) for no extra charge. For dessert we treated ourselves to buttermilk Bottomless Pancakes for a very reasonable price of £9.50, which are £5 on a Friday. This gave two options of Lotus Biscoff or Fresh Fruit and Syrup. I tried both and they were delicious, each plate came with three thick pancakes. The staff were really accommodating at our requests for an extra scoop of vanilla ice cream and extra syrup. The bathroom was suitably clean and serviced when I used it at the end of the meal. Overall we really enjoyed our experience here and wouldn’t hesitate to return 😊

First time here a few days ago, was greeted by a friendly face and taken to our seats. We were given plenty of time to decide and once we had our options. Our order was taken. Food arrived in less than 10 minutes so was a good amount of wait time. I had the BBQ Bourbon burger and it was a must have, glad I chose this out of anything. We then had a mini dessert brownie. The service was great and Savannah kept checking up to make sure we were doing okay. She was very friendly and approachable. Will definitely be back!!

We had Jaqs serve me for my birthday and I must say she went above and beyond about making it a special occasion! Ordered chocolate pancakes and they came out extra special with a sparkler and singing happy birthday, had Jaqs serve me for many years and service has always been the same. If I could give 10 stars I would. Thank you Jaqs 🩷

It's always a pleasure to dine here. The food is excellent and much of it is locally sourced. The staff are great too. Still top marks all round after all these years. Long may it continue

My wife, son, and I were in Essex for a wedding last week, and we traveled all the way from Texas. I have business in London and so we spent a week in the city prior to the wedding and ate at some of our favorite spots. We traveled to Braintree on the night before the wedding and found The House by Hilly Gant for our first meal in Essex. We were met by the chef when we walked through the door, and he and the wait staff met us with a smile and a handshake. Despite bringing a seven-year-old to a very nice restaurant, they treated us with absolute kindness and appreciation for our visit. The food was fantastic, and the service was impeccable. And I can honestly say that after a full week in London, this was our best meal of the trip. We felt so welcomed. It’s difficult for me to imagine another trip to Braintree all the way from Texas, but I might have to come up with a reason just so I can visit this restaurant again. Thank you so much to everyone for not only a great meal but a wonderful experience.

Visited The House by Hilly Gant for Sunday lunch and ordered the gammon roast. The presentation was excellent, and the food matched it in quality. The establishment is a chic, converted house – very stylish. For the quality of food, the prices were quite reasonable. The potatoes were the best I've had in ages – crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The portion size of the meat was generous. The only downside was the service being a bit slow, but it was a busy Sunday lunchtime. Overall, a fantastic experience. Highly recommended!

Excellent meal last night - everything was absolutely delicious! Loving the new decor and the new menus and of course the lovely staff - led last night by Louise for front of house and Sam, Head Chef, but even though Harry and little Sam were on leave they both ended up popping in too as they can’t stay away!! Shows how much they love their work! Ian had the Confit Lobster with Crumpet, Radish and Frisée to start, followed by the Pan-Roasted Spiced Duck Breast, Potato Rosti, Glazed Chicory, Artichoke Puree, Fig Jam, Artichoke Crisp and the Burnt Honey & Sea Salt Panna Cotta, Vanilla & Apple Puree, with Honeycomb Tuille for dessert. I had the delicious Caramelized Red Onion, Goats Cheese Mousse with Beetroot to start, Feta & Harissa Spanakopita, Butternut Squash, Spinach, Spiced Yoghurt, Rocket with Sun-Dried Tomatoes for main and Chocolate Fondant, Pistachio Ice-Cream with Blackberries for dessert. The Pistacio Ice cream was absolutely delicious and the Fondant a perfect texture and not over sweet. Definitely still up there as one of our absolute favourite restaurants.

I don’t ever write reviews, but I felt I had to for this restaurant. I came here on a date with my boyfriend, and everything was absolutely wonderful. I’m from America, so my taste buds are way off 😂, but the food here was incredible. The portions were generous, and the flavors were amazing. We were already planning our next visit halfway through the meal. Our host was also incredibly kind and welcoming. If you’re looking for a lovely night out, definitely come here—you won’t regret it.

Terrible experience .. went as a large group and were squashed into a corner … where I sat the were passing plates over my head… food was missing from the menu even though we ordered ahead. Staff lacked training and most were tone deaf as they served with raised voices. This is the second time I have visited the last time was 2023 for Xmas lunch. Same experience… not good value for money.. obviously the regulars love it as they don’t no any better or have not taste. I struggled to open the front door as a was carrying a celebration cake in only to be watched by a young waitress would never offered to help. Seems like southern hospitality has vanished! Price of drinks were extortionate especially the wine.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 I can't recommend The House by Hilly Gant enough! Daisy provided exceptional service – 10/10. She was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to make our visit perfect. The food was absolutely incredible – every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The building itself is stunning, with so much charm and character. You can tell every detail has been thoughtfully curated to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. This is truly a gem of a place, and I can’t wait to visit again. Thank you for such a memorable experience!

Had a red letter day voucher. Went to Braintree as our Brentwood restaurant which we used a lot, has been closed. Have not eaten at Prezzo’s since. Food and service was great. Served mainly by Angelika who was lovely. If we’re out that way we would go again but really miss our Brentwood one.

We came to use a gluten free 2 for 1 offer and it was good. The service was great as was the atmosphere and the pizza we chose was delicious. There was also a good selection of no alcohol drinks on offer. There were desserts that we could enjoy but I would like to see the meatballs back on the starters please.😊 All in all, a great experience and excellent value.

We visited around 5pm on Saturday evening and it had a good buzz and surprisingly busy with a mixture of customers. We did notice they seemed to be a bit light on serving staff especially the bar which at times didn’t have anyone. We were welcomed by Melinda who was extremely attentive and answered our questions and had a very kind and friendly manner. Food was sat on the serving counter for long periods and drinks were coming after food. I could see that our food had been sat on the counter for over 10 minutes and Melinda noticed straight away it was cold as we were sat right in front of it and sent it back before giving it to us. But unfortunately all they did was sit my husbands burger under a grill for around a minute before re issuing and it was still very cold. We sent it back for a new one so we’re eating meals at different times, not ideal. Food in general was good when we got it and value for money, With a great service from Melinda we didn’t complain and didn’t sour our experience. Please pass on our praise as we may have discarded Prezzo options on future outings if had not been for her. Zoe

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We recently visited Prezzo Italian at Braintree Village for an early family brunch and had a wonderful experience. I want to give a special shout-out to Ella, who was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Her professionalism, warmth, and attentiveness made our visit so comfortable and enjoyable. She truly went above and beyond, and her exceptional customer service deserves recognition. I also want to thank one of the managers who assisted me with claiming a free dessert via the app. Their guidance and support made the process seamless and was much appreciated. The food and atmosphere were lovely, and overall, it was a really enjoyable visit. My only suggestion would be to have a few more staff available during busy times, as there were moments when we had to wait for assistance. A huge thank you to Ella, her manager, and the team at Prezzo Italian. We look forward to visiting again soon!

Everything was very nice. My only criticism was not getting some tap water. We were told the servers were too busy!

The food was good but the service was brilliant! Our waitress Lacey was lovely she took the time to speak to our son rather than just ignoring him which happens a lot when we eat out. She was checking in on us without it being too much and we didn’t feel rushed at all. She was polite and professional and we were really impressed. We hadn’t met Lacey before but she is a credit to Prezzo at Freeport!!

Overall, I had a nice experience at Pizza Express. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and the service stood out — our waitress (Maria G) was very pleasant and attentive throughout the meal, which really added to the evening. The food was generally good. I enjoyed my main, and everything arrived in a timely manner. That said, I did have a couple of small criticisms: the Buttermilk Chicken Goujons were slightly dry and unfortunately missing the lemon that usually adds a nice zing. Also, the egg on my Fiorentina pizza was overcooked, which took away from the usual soft, rich texture I was expecting. Despite these minor points, it was an enjoyable dinner overall, and I’d be happy to return. With a few small improvements, it would have been excellent.

Just went to pick up a collection which I ordered earlier today, was supposed to pick it up at 18.20 and had an email at 17.50 being told that it was being prepared. When I got there it was in a warmer. The pizza was luke warm and congealed. The dough balls were Luke warm and the garlic butter was not in the bag. Went back to get it and was made to wait at the door for nearly 10 mins, all new customers being ignored by the staff who were all rushing round like headless chickens. Whilst standing there one of gentlemen behind the counter was laying with either a piece of plastic or dough, dropped on the floor, picked it up continued playing with it and then prepared someone’s food. I am gluten free and now worried about eating the food in case of cross contamination (if he doesn’t wash his hands after pick something of the floor how do I know hands were clean when preparing my food). Overall bad service and poor food

Ordered £120 of food for delivery. We ordered no cheese on the pizza, it arrived with cheese. The dough balls were flat and stuck together like they had been frozen. The whole order is in the bin and we have ordered from elsewhere. Pizza Express should be embarrassed by the quantity of food they sent out. So disappointing. We will not be ordering from them again.

Awful, my waitress didn't smile and I couldn't get her attention to order another drink so I didn't. Then I had to ask another waiter if I could have my bill. The lady who I thought was a manager just completely ignored me and stocked the fridge. It is a shame because the food was nice, the chef's worked hard to be let down by some of the staff. I hope it improves because I have been going here for 15 years!!

Booked a table for Saturday night half an hour before the reservation time. When we arrived, they said they couldn’t find a booking and instead of saying ‘don’t worry, we’ll accommodate you’ (they weren’t busy), they made a big point of the fact that the booking was not showing and it could take time to come through. Why?! Then they sat us down anyway, and then we sat there for 15 minutes without being offered to order anything at all. We left and went TGI’s instead

A lot of messy tables and floors but ours was cleaned before being seated . We had chicken thighs and 1/4 of chicken both very small hardly any meat on the 1/4 and thighs were tiny . Mash wasn't hot or creamy! While eating I was disgusted at the behaviour of 4 male members of staff that were all cooking- they were chucking food at each other and play fighting , putting lettuce down one's back and swearing . Hygiene wasn't good as while preparing food this was going on and on their phones at the same time . One of their hats were thrown which landed on the packet of open wraps . This behaviour put me of my food and the behaviour went on for the hr we were there ! The young girl in charge had obviously spoken to them but they were not taking any notice of her even after informing her manager by her phone . She dealt with our complaint professionally and couldn't apologise enough and offered us a refund. A plate of food was returned to them and after them all prodding it and more salt put on the chips it was taken back . Hygiene and behaviour appalling especially to see in a kitchen were food being prepped

Had lunch at nando’s today with my friends, all the food arrived promptly with no issues and was delicious. However, service without a smile was a bit of a shock. Probably would’ve enjoyed it more if at least one of the workers weren’t as miserable as they all presented. While eating our meal, there was a family waiting for a table, after people arriving after them being seated first they asked how much longer to which they were told “we’re doing our best” before the guy (dressed like a manager) quickly ran off. After watching whilst eating, I noticed there wasn’t much being done by any team member and being a manager myself, seeing a paying customer treated this way ruined my experience. Will return to nando’s but definatly not the braintree one.

Staff are very friendly and helpful, seems to cope very well when it's busy. No complaints at all about the service or the food. The screaming toddler next to us gave us an ear bashing but that's nothing to do with the restaurant XD

Had to wait for about 20 mins for a table, message come through on the phone saying table is ready Food is normal like any other Nando’s….but the staff is sure a 5 stars rating. 2nd visit, help yourself plates are oily, not clean, disappointed. My work friends and I were welcomed by a lovely guy who showed us to our booth. Also, Francesca and Hollie were very friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious. This was my first visit, but it definitely won’t be my last.

From the moment we walked in, the experience was perfection. The warm welcome, elegant decor, and subtle lighting set the tone. Every dish was a masterpiece beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The signature dessert was pure art. Service was impeccable attentive without being intrusive, with thoughtful wine pairings that elevated the meal. Myself my son came for lunch today. And all I can say is WOW !!!! The food was absolutely OUT OF THIS WORLD. We had all our dishes turn up at once. The octopus was insane , helim cheese was perfect , and those chicken livers OMG !!!! And the Mixed Grills COOKED to perfection the flavor is simply off the charts. Our server Edith was adorable and the other young lady serving was excellent!! Cant wait return Dan & Joe xx

My partner brought me here for my birthday, and wow — what an incredible experience from the moment we walked in! The service was absolutely impeccable, and the food was amazing — even down to the salad, everything was beautifully presented. A special thank you to Hollie and Francesca for their outstanding service; they were attentive, friendly, and always nearby in case we needed anything. It was also lovely to see the manager out on the floor — very friendly, smiling, and engaging with guests. Overall, it was such a memorable experience and a perfect place to celebrate. After some retail therapy at Freeport, Braintree, I decided to try Hasturk. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the beautiful décor, warm colours, stylish details, and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. When my food arrived, it was presented like a work of art on a sleek oblong plate. The salad was fresh, vibrant, and generous, thinly sliced onions, grilled onions, and a wonderfully smoky long Turkish pepper, grated beetroot, lettuce and carrot. My main, the chargrilled salmon, was cooked to absolute perfection – tender, flaky, and full of flavour. Every bite was a reminder of just how good fresh, well-prepared food can be. I can honestly say it’s the best Turkish food I’ve ever had, bursting with flavour, beautifully balanced, and clearly made with love. The service was friendly and attentive. The food here was really good, the portion sizes were big and worth the money. Hollie and Amelito served us and they were so friendly and accommodating, making sure we felt welcomed and had everything we needed. I definitely recommend this to anyone.

Today was only my second visit. (I don't get into Braintree often) but I'll make a point of going to Eatons next time I do. Great food, good value for money and lovely staff. I also took home 4 scones for tomorrow.

Really nice staff. The afternoon tea was lovely. This needs booking ahead of time. The only down side is that the tables where not being cleared. 2 staff members came up brought what we ordered but didn't take what was left by other customers back down to the kitchen. This was literally the only down side.

I wish I had thought to take photos at the time of my visit. We ordered the beef stew and dumplings and a coronation chicken baguette. We had to wait almost an hour before it arrived. My mother's order (beef stew and dumplings) was served with a piece of warm ciabatta bread. The stew was like gravy with minute amounts of meat and a few potatoes. It was more like soup and the server gave her a knife and fork to eat it with.... Of the dumplings, there was no sight, not one. On to the next, was my coronation chicken. It was more raisins/sultanas than chicken. In a very strange sort of thin curried sauce. I couldn't eat it all. None of the creaminess you'd expect from coronation chicken. I may have been wrong but I couldn't detect any mango chutney which is generally an added ingredient in it. On to the positive points. They offered us an extra drink on the house for the very long wait. When it was time to settle the bill we were only charged for half the meal and offered cake as we were dissatisfied with the food. The latte and hot chocolate were fine and the bread was fresh.

Initially, aesthetically pleasing upstairs. On closer inspection the floor and tables needed cleaning. Teaspoon was dirty. Short staffed. Long wait for food. Good presentation of food but the panini was mouldy. Did not stay to eat.

I was popping by for a nice lunch with my father in law and my mother and I straight away noticed an employees extremely loud baby screaming and banging on the table the table we sat down on was very sticky and the chair were extremely creaky! We ordered some food and 3 flat whites and 30 minutes later we got our drinks and they were Americanos instead of flat whites then they bring out the sugar and the spoons and the hygiene was just vile! There was mild on the sugar pot and the spoon had stains on them. Horrible experience. I’m never going again and I don’t recommend that you do too

A hidden Jem. We fancied a breakfast while walking around and found this amazing friendly place. The food is freshly cooked and tastes amazing.the coffee is one of the best around And the people in there are brilliant. We had the big breakfast and it came with everything. What value for money. Delightful coffee shop serving a range of hot drinks, cakes and light lunches. Lovely sunny outdoor eating area to comply with current Covid regulations. Service swift, eggs royale delicious - perfectly cooked eggs. My only gripe is having to share my dining area with smokers which rather spoilt the otherwise delightful ambiance.

Lovely friendly staff and nice to sit inside. However, no jacket potatoes left, so I asked for a salad as I’m on a restricted diet currently and although staff were kind and put a salad together - it was really just the same as my friend’s side of salad served with his sandwich- so I paid in excess of £3 for a handful of salad so I personally felt disappointed with that but appreciate it is a tea and cake/sandwich place - but I would definitely recommend it as a very nice cafe in Braintree.

The food was delicious and the service excellent. Staff were extremely helpful and very happy to cater specially for my 7 month daughter. I’ll definitely be returning and would recommend to others. Great local business.

A home from home. I absolutely love this little tea room. I often come in with my baby or just on my own and nothing is too much trouble for John and Tracey. Always a warm welcome, a chat and some delicious food especially the New York bagel and John’s homemade cakes! I often grab a tea and cake and get John to do me a takeaway lunch! Thanks guys for always making me feel so welcome.

What a refreshing change to see a business that is concerned about their customers. I was put off with the bun fight that was going on outside kaspas so walked down to find a warm and friendly welcome at the glass house. Attention to detail is spot on and the quality of ingredients is good. Will definitely be back.

We had lunch at this tea room with my family and loved the food. The people running the place are very kind and the food exceeded our expectations. We especially loved the home made crisps and coleslaw. We will visit again!

We had an awful experience today - there were only 2 clients in there when we arrived. Unfortunately all the tables were filthy and messy, sticky and full with rubbish. Even the floor was dirty - spilled coke and juice all over the place. I had to clean a table myself because no one paid any attention where we were going to sit. Food tasted bad, like it was just warmed up but not fresh. The salad, the tomato and the onion have had better days - they looked quite exhausted from being waiting for so long someone to order them. Awful experience. The people behind the till looked sad and it was obvious they didn't care much. While waiting for our good I could see the mess under their counter - plenty of rubbish, chips on the floor, oily bags and packaging. It looked like it hasn't been cleaned recently. Awful service which brought an awful atmosphere. My little one was so disappointed!! I would never visit again!

Why 4, not 5*? FOOD - Variety of items to choose from. I ate the Philly cheese stack which is limited time. It’s the best exclusive item imo. SERVICE- The receipt printer failed on the self-ordering kiosks. However, staff scrambled to help us which was good. ATMOSPHERE- Eh, your typical McDonald’s. Busy at times.

Ordered 2×McCrispy and 2 milkshake! 25min later got 2×McCrispy,just bread,majo no salad atoll!Milkshakes was just like water! Went back to change Milkshake.Old women told me that she canot guarantee me that milkshake will be cold 🥶 I ask for manager and she apologise and explain me that they got only one machine and that is why it's happening! If you got one machine and straggling then get one more machine! Simply stop selling hot milkshake! How many times we come here for food never been right,always something wrong!

I’m arriving home and you guys put 4 nuggets in the box of 6 nuggets. Which is quite annoying - cause otherwise I would have pay a happy meal instead but I wanted the 6 nuggets for my kid. The chips half empty and the drink no even ice on it and neither full. Calling the store and no one answers. Cause you should do something about it and it’s so hot that I cannot go back with my toddler. Too much hassle to amend your mistake

Horrendous. 2 items missed off the order. Fries were overcooked, dehydrated and burnt. The toilet had 300 flies. Some on a full-up fly strip, the rest just sat on the walls. I complained directly to the customer service. Things like this, make a franchise look horrific

Had really awful experiences here recently. Hardly any chips, longer than average waits and on occasion missing items. Have not complained as never notice until getting home. Given that a McDonald's for our family is not in excess of £30 I really do expect better. I would recommend driving a bit further and going to the one 10mins up the road (Essex Regiment Way).

Given 5 for the service because the lady staff member who noticed me sit down at a slighlty dirty table came over and cleaned it for us, thats what stood out on our visit. Food was good and hot also.

Very nice setting with excellent serving staff. Very upbeat music too! Starter was mozzarella garlic bread, mains pictured are chicken Milanese and casareccia della casa. Milanese was a tad dry, but besides this, very nice setting and experience.

We had another fantastic visit! Esme gave us a warm welcome, and the service was highly professional — thank you. The food was excellent this evening; we heard there’s a new head chef on board, and it truly shows.

We went for lunch. I had to repeat 3 times to the waitress the word "beer" as she couldn't understand me. As well, she was not able to answer some questions regarding the plates we asked for. Overall over priced for the food they offer. £102 for 4 plates and a starter, tab water and one 0.0% beer.

Came in with my family tonight, they must’ve had an insanely busy weekend as there was not a lot available. Despite this, the staff went above and beyond to ensure we still had an amazing night! The food we did get was incredible.. our calamari came out slightly cold but the chef had a new one ready within minutes. Compliments to the new head chef as everything was perfect! Didn’t catch our servers name but the two young girls and the manager did an amazing job tonight. Will definitely be back.

Food was great but over priced (£16 for a lasagne) It was very quiet which we expected as it was a weekday but we waited a long time for someone to ask if we wanted dessert and then to pay the bill. It started off really well the first person who served us was helpful and friendly but once they’d gone we were forgotten and we were the only people in there.

Had a great time at Zizzi after a morning shopping at Braintree Village. The set menu is great value and I really loved the King Prawn Spiedini and Meat Sofia Pizza. Our server Poppy was really friendly and the restaurant had great vibes. Will be back again after our next shopping trip 🛍️

Have visited a few times and every time we feal welcomed , always advised on any deals currantly going on . Food always nice . Haven't had a cocktail so can not give any recommendations. But the iced glasses for soft drinks is great .

It's a problem when the local pizza hut doesn't have their own dedicated delivery drivers and have to resort to crappy Deliveroo and Just Eat drivers. Meaning By the time they arrive with my food its cold because they make multiple stops delivering other peoples food on the way. Very frustrating

Scammed me, I tried too cancel my order 20 seconds after I placed it due too me putting wrong address and said magically they have made my FULL order and is in the oven that is not true and have fully lied too me and now my order is in the wrong place. Don’t go there.

Pizza arrived at the time stated. Delivery guy was very friendly. Food was very good only thing was the macaroni cheese was slightly crunchy. Great service as always. Thank you

If I could offer 0 stars I would. Having heard the conversation my partner just had on the phone I would recommend avoiding this establishment. Telling an Italian man that they didn’t know what ‘Nduja was, was rather remarkable. Perhaps the female staff member was having a bad day? Or was caught out for fabricating a cover up..? Ordered through Uber Eats, both as useless as each other.

Rude staff on the phone, giving attitude despite being in the wrong. If you haven’t got an ingredient maybe let the customer know…rather then tell them it’s been rebranded as something else. Definitely will not order from here again. Top tip, don’t order Nduja as you’ll get some chunks of mystery meat

Lisa the owner/manager worked very hard to ensure all her visitors were happy. Our pies were cooked to order, so around 20min wait, but they were fresh. Other pies from same tray sold fast. Partner first time double pie, double mash and liquor, must have salt and vinegar on liquor to enhance flavours. No eels or dessert pies & custard as westher too hot. All pies and mash prepared on premises, yummy !! Thank you Lisa x

This is for the Colchester branch.... The pie did taste like the original, Tower Bridge Road would never have mash without lumps (never add butter!) Sadly the " liquor" was disgusting! I can only describe it as packet parsley sauce with green colouring. There was a reason it was called "eel" liquor"...... Sorry but I'd rather pay the train fare and get the real thing.

Pie and mash was nice and mash portion was huge. I ordered double pie and double mash I should have had just one mash as 2 is allot and I am greedy and can eat loads usually but I had to leave some. I did find the price to be very high of around £17. Pie and mash should be cheap and not pub prices. Pie and mash in Chelmsford is £10.50 so a huge price difference. They would be better placed to charge less and give less mash. The restaurant really needs a makeover.

Manzes holds a special place in my heart, reminding me of the delightful days spent in old Walthamstow. It remains one of my favourites, and I know that many of the staff who are still here share that sentiment as well. It truly feels like a cherished tradition that continues to bring joy to our lives. This includes places like Branches & Baker's Arms and Chapel Street Baker's Arms.

Lovely pie and mash but you can only pay cash and is getting a bit expensive at £13.10 double pie, single mash, liquor and a bottle of water

So as you walk in you can’t see the prices straight away maybe a tactical thing it’s white writing across a mirror on the wall not near the where you order prices are slightly to high food was just ok .

Absolutely one of the best pie shops around. Food taste absolutely great with huge portions of mash. Not those silly little ice cream scoops, very friendly staff, Great atmosphere 5stars all the way

Im giving it 3 stars overall as the prices are well out of what some people deem affordable ? I mean i ordered a Cheeseburger and a Hamburger with 1 fries and 2 drinks for my son and myself and that was just shy of £35 (ouch) another set of fries your looking at almost £40 (ouch) Your looking at possibly a £100 for a large family i suspect and at the end of the day yes the burger meat is fresh etc etc but the dining experience itself is pretty much the same as McDonald's minus just the meat quality imho Overall its just overpriced and unrealistic in the current climate

If you like burgers and fries you'll love this place. Obviously a very expensive choice but in my opinion the extra money is worth it. Actually tastes like food and freshly cooked most of the time. Braintree one was pretty good. I must say service was very good and staff friendly. Downside was the burger wasn't quite warm as you can see not warm enough to melt the cheese properly. I've also had better fries at other branches. But still not sure if this was just a random experience. Worth coming to still.

We had Bacon and cheese burger 'all the way' ( mayo, lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, ketchup, and mustard) Really lovely tasty burger, although freshly made in front of us, I think because of all of the salad it felt slightly cold. Very expensive (£11 each burger) so didn't get fries. All cooked in peanut oil. Shared a drink( £5) but refillable, lots of different flavors to choose from. Was not at all busy. Very clean restaurant.

Newly opened in Braintree, Five Guys fails to disappoint. You can expect the same level of service here as you receive at any other Five Guys restaurant. Our host Louie was very friendly, polite & helpful. He even went out of his way to offer my girlfriend out of reach condiments which was a nice thing to do. One tiny thing, but it's worth noting. While we were there, music was being played from the kitchen which seemed inappropriate and was quite annoying as it clashed with the music playing in the restaurant.

Thursday night crew - what a great bunch. Really brightened up our day! Top marks for service and delicious burgers and shake. And peanuts! 🥜😁

Fantastic burger and fries. Kids loved helping themselves to the monkey nuts (peanuts) while we waited and went back for more! Not cheap for fast food but great as a quick treat.

So disappointed! 2 hours from order to delivery. Phoned three times and was lied to. 1st call one hour in, apologised for the delay, an oven went down. It happens! But given you have my email and phone no. Letting me know would have allowed me to make an informed decision as to whether I wait. Told it was next in the oven, so we waited. Half hour later another call… it just left the shop, great we’re a 10 min drive… 25 min later another call… it’s just left the shop ?! Deja vu? Why lie to us?! Finally arrives over 2 hours later. Food is warm still, quality is good but are the toppings intentionally scrimped on? Thanks but no thanks!

Food came in 45 mins which is fine but it was stone cold, like cardboard with cheese on top. Never had an issue like this before so I called into the store to let them know and the manager couldn’t care less, said it came straight out the oven to his best driver which is bullhang because it had to go in the oven before we could eat it! Manager was as helpful as an ashtray on a motorbike. We’ll be going to dominos from now on.

Just ordered a pizza from here. Food & side order was stone cold. You order through them on drop list. However they use UBER to deliver your food. Sat for ages waiting to be collected by them. Funny the tracking app went down also. Called and female who answered the call was not helpful & said to get in touch with head office to complain. Give it one if I could! Ordered just after 6pm and was still waiting nearly 8pm for 1 pizza, sides and a bottle of drink. Phoned up twice to be told driver would be another 5 minutes. Pizza arrived looking mummified under the heat lamp and was luke warm. Will pass on this place next time and seems I’m not the only one

Avoid this place at all costs! They messed our order up a couple of weeks ago and so head office gave us a free pizza voucher. Thought we'd give them a second chance today......oh how wrong we were! Pizza missing from our order and what we did receive was cold. Called the store where the manager was rude and refused to rectify the issue stating we had to deal with head office. Never ever again will we use and I would urge others to think twice before they do.

Should have listened to the reviews! Ordered via deliveroo and one hour later, no pizza was delivered. I rang them to check what was going on as Deliveroo said I should’ve expected the order 30mins ago and spoke to a nonchalant employee of theirs who said “we gave the pizza to the driver awhile ago”. I said “well it’s still not here, does that mean the driver has stolen my order?”. The employee responded “yeah”. Errr Great! Cancelled the order and will never order from these jokers again

Like others who have left a review, ordered through and then 1hr 30mins later when food had not arrived rang shop. Told order had been given to driver and they didn't know what had happened to it! No apology, and given how frequently it appears to have happened to others I am highly suspicious of the explanation. Will avoid in future.

This is the first time I have ordered from Jade Garden and I can honestly say the food was lovely, not greasy and the service was great. Lovely friendly people and I would be ordering again from Jade Garden.

We had food delivered last night for the first time from Jade Garden, having always collected in the past. We weren’t sure they’d do it as we are in a bit of a satnav black spot. But they made sure they had all the details they needed and the food arrived so fast, well within the 45 minutes they’d stated. And wow wow wow what a meal! Best Chinese we’ve had in a long long time! Special mention to the Sweet and Sour pork Hong Kong style and Singapore rice noodles! Superb! But everything was spot on. Will definitely use the delivery service again. THANKYOU to the chefs and the lady who delivered! 10/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

There’s a reason I don’t usually order from here - and that’s because the food is extremely low quality. Very fishy smelling squid, beef that was so rubbery you could re-sole your shoes with it. Everything else was either very bland or nuked to death. This is not “Chinese” food as it should be.

First time ordering from here on recommendation from a friend. I’m a fussy eater when it comes to Chinese and after seeing a couple of recent not so good reviews i was a bit skeptical. The food was by far the BEST Chinese we have had since moving here 3 years ago. You could tell it was fresh, and as others have said they provide generous portions. And the girl who took the order was also really friendly (as I see she had also got a bit of a bad rep in one of the reviews) We will definitely be using Jade Garden from now on.

We had an absolutely beautiful meal from Jade Garden this evening! We chose a set meal for 2 - It tasted lovely and fresh and the portions were very generous, so much so that we have some of each dish in the fridge for lunch tomorrow. The service was extremely efficient and the staff really helpful and friendly. We will continue to order from Jade Garden in the future and will highly recommend them to others.

Ordered a salad and although they said the lettuce was supposed to be cleaned it was dirty. The manager made his way over as I showed it on the pass to the chef beforehand. Apparently the salad is prewashed and that the restaurant washes it also. Not really impressed as the restaurant isn't what I'd call busy . Service was good waitresses where attentive , and the manager did knock the cost of the meal off All in all though we go there for the food , this affirms my thoughts that chain restaurants aren't able to keep up with good quality food especially whilst the chef/cook holds zero regard for what goes out . If it was his menu they would care .

Food arrived quickly and tasted good. The cauliflower bites were amazing, and everything else had a punch of flavour. Service was good, the place was clean and at the end of a busy day shopping, this is what we wanted. Pretty good wagamama place here, just what you expect. Food made fresh to order and all really nice, reasonable price too. Staff were friendly and had some good suggestions for the food. Only downside here really is we had some missing food that wasn't brought over but still on the bill. Obviously they took it off but I was surprised it was missed. Still worth coming to, busy nights these things can happen.

One of the best Wagamama's that I have visited. I have been to the Braintree branch several times and the service has always been quick, friendly & very good. The portion sizes seem larger than other Wagamama's I've been too. Will visit again when in the area.

With a starter, coke and main dish for 2 people - bill came close to 60 quid. Food was fine, but probably not for that money. Also waitress was trying so hard and made things actually awkward - I'm sitting with a full mouth and she jumps in every few minutes with 'how everything was' - you need to pick your moments, I didn't come there to talk to people I don't know - I want to have my meal and then you can ask me how it was. Anyways - that was probably last time I went to Wagamama - at least the Braintree one.

Pleajty of space staffed were helpful. The accessible toilet is at back of the store up a slight slope. Standard accessible toilet the emergency pull cord was tangled and not reaching the floor.

i went to this subway for the first time at 3pm on the 5th of august. the staff member was very rude and unhelpful. he did not listen to what i was asking and was very snappy when he didn’t hear what i said. i have never had a bad experience with anyone working at subway until i came here. the food was wonderful as usual but was very disappointed with the customer service which made my experience unenjoyable.

Not a massive subway fan but the service was good and the food edible. Truthfully I can't really moan or praise its just a OK place to eat. The service on the other had was good. Polite and quick to help and get our order done.

I've been to this restaurant a few times now and feel it should be the first 'Google Local' to receive a review from me. I absolutely LOVE this place! Every time that I have been so far the food has been exceptional, especially at the reasonable prices that they have. The inside (albeit slightly cramped) is a pleasant place to be in... It's just that the tables could be slightly more spread out. The only real downside is that the service can be a bit hit and miss. I think it's been more in favour of good service as apposed to poor service for myself but it's something to be aware of before heading there.

Phoned the manager to query why my partner had received poor food and a bad attitude from the manager. When I spoke with him he said my partner was complaining a lot, and proceeded to argue with me! They have no idea of customer service or food quality. My partner is adamant that her food was reheated and dry and her coleslaw looking like someone had stuck their finger in it! Apparently the salad was stale and wilted too. The manager was unapologetic and opinionated, sounds to me like he and his staff could do with some customer service training.

Service is terrible! The kitchen staff have no idea how to time food for a whole table so perhaps dishes should be served HOT as they're made. Our table waited about 40minutes for the mains and when they arrived some were very cold and had clearly been sat around for a long time. Although we were offered fresh dishes we declined because we didn't have another 40 minutes to wait! Won't be returning!!

7 of us visited this unproffessional restaurant today (when it was quiet). I had to ask if we could place the food order as we had been kept waiting for so long after the drinks order was taken but nothing materialised. The food appeared, the kids pizza was ok. My sister in law's goats cheese tart looked burnt and my 1/2 chicken looked unappealing. The coleslaw looked like someone had poked their finger in it. My chicken tasted no better than it looked and resembled something that had been fried for too long in a fish & chip shop. It tasted like it had been cooked and re-heated and was dry. The salad I had, instead of the fries, was wilting and dry. I called the waiter over who took my meal away and ordered me a pizza instead. When the Manager brought over my pizza, I explained that the chicken was dry to which he answered "no it wasn't, I tried it myself". He argued my points of view. He did apologise but then argued with me some more. We paid the bill and awaited our change which never materialised (I wasn't going to leave a tip when the Manager had argued with me). I called over the original waitress and asked for the change which was met with a frosty stare. I am simply appalled by the customer service of this restaurant. It was bad enough that the food was way off standard yet to be argued with when mentioning something is NOT acceptable. Avoid like the plague.

Needed a quick feed before heading in to the outlet village. Popped in here for the lunchtime menu. Had the half and half, pasta and flat bread, and was expecting a small portion to tide me over. Very generous portion arrived and service was first class. Highly recommended.

Food was fine - service was amateur. In an almost empty restaurant, service felt rushed - drinks left on end of table for us to sort out, waitress leaning over from one end of the table to serve food to everyone (6 people - she struggled to reach the 'other' end, when all she needed to do was walk 3 feet!) and then she cleared plates when not everyone had finished. Not what is expected when eating out. Other comparable restaurants get it right and make you want to go back. Sadly not here....

Asked for a table for four but was offered smallest table on the right corner for all of us even if the place was half empty. Waiter said that bigger tables were booked but after we spent 2 hours having our meals nobody turned up for bigger tables. Food was not too bad but the place in general is very dirty. Wouldn't recommend this place to anybody.

Waiting for too long in the end went to prezzo normally we had good service in cafe Un o not to nite 29/6/17 at 17.55 ignored for so long went to prezzo. Very disappointed .

I wouldn't have normally reviewed the braintree toby as the service is often lacking. (We went due to the £6 voucher.) Today however was a pleasant surprise. The waiting staff were lovely and the grumpy chef was replaced by a lovely cheerful female chef. Just wanted to give this team a thumbs up.

Come in here sometimes in a Friday lunchtime for a beer. Friendly staff. Gets busy in the carvery at lunchtime. Mainly elderly folk enjoying the roast. I dont eat here so can't comment on the food. Nice pint of Peroni if not a tad expensive.

There was a group of us for a kids birthday. There was barely any staff in that day so our server was doing everything herself such as taking orders and making drinks. This lead to long wait times for drinks which is not her fault but there always seems to be a staff issue whenever I visit. We had to go up to the bar to sort out our payment as half was paid for and the other half wasn't. We got given a bill for food that had already been paid off which got confusing at one point.

Service was excellent! Our waitress Hannah we could not fault her, very polite friendly and amazing with out children. She went above and beyond! And the carvers ash and surendra were also polite and kind! Keep up the good work, has such a lovely meal out! :)

Usually come here quite a bit however today for lunch when being served our food the chef practically shoved the plate into our hands. Some of the side dishes were nearly cold when we sat down to eat. When we asked for our bill we got told the waitress would get it for us then sat there another ten minutes waiting for it while we watched them talking in a group. Then we had to ask a different waitress for it. We were only one of about 10 tables sat in the entire restaurant at the time and not very impressed with the service we received.

Really enjoyed my meal here. A rare example of a thriving independent business that has a traditional feeling. The staff were all very friendly and happy to make conversation which added to the positive experience. I was visiting the area but certainly intend to come back if I’m nearby.

Good selection of dishes on the menu for this Italian restaurant near Braintree. The specials board also had a few extra dishes to choose from. I went for mussels for starters, and whole sea bream for main. My wife had the smoked salmon and the liver and bacon for her main. All of the dishes were really tasty. If I had one criticism I thought the bream was over seasoned. For dessert I would highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding. Definitely up there with the best sticky toffee puddings I’ve eaten. My wife had pecan pie which had a lovely crunchy pastry. Overall the mega was good, not outstanding but it’s better than your average Italian.

We just had our wedding lunch here. We couldn’t have been better looked after. Originally we booked the upstairs function room but as it was hot and muggy, Sarah offered us the outdoor covered space. The food was first class and the service was splendid. So attentive. Honestly, we made the right decision to eat here. They made our day perfect. Thank you!

Wow what an absolutely amazing dinner at this restaurant! Prawns were divine, sea bass and pasta delicious. Tiramisu for dessert was wonderful. Highly rate, good value and excellent environment.

This place is NOT Il Salice! Rather confusingly the lovely Italian restaurant that was here before still has their website up. I called the number from the website to make a booking thinking I was going for an Italian that evening. Upon arrival it became apparent that the venue is now an Indian restaurant trading in its place. The old Il Salice website should be removed and I do find it disingenuous that this google profile has reviews from the previous restaurant which was a completely different cuisine and management. Start fresh with your own reviews and remove all references to the previous restaurant and trade off your own merits guys. Anyway, it was a Wednesday evening and apart from my friend and I there was just one other couple dining in. Bit of a slow night for the restaurant it seemed. However, service was generally good with the waiters being friendly and the food was very tasty. We shared a bottle of red, 2 mains, 2 rice, 1 nan and 2 sides for £95. Now I know it is an Indian restaurant, would I come back here? Probably not, but that's not because of a bad experience. Its a decent Indian, and if you're local to it, go for it, but because I live in Witham I'd head to Ifraaz as its walking distance. I only made the journey here this time thinking it was an authentic Italian restaurant.

Terrible experience. The staff were uninterested and more focused on chatting than serving. I ordered a takeaway and received UNDERCOOKED chicken. The chicken was hard and not edible. Unsure how a restaurant is unable to properly cook chicken, maybe the food was previously frozen? At least the spaghetti was ok.

First time there today for a celebratory lunch and wow best pasta I've ever had, authentic Italian as it should be. Amazing little restaurant, staff are super friendly and helpful and the food is just fantastic. So lucky to have this place local to us. Will be back.

We attempted to place a £130 order through the restaurant’s website, but the system wouldn’t accept our address, claiming it was outside the delivery area. When we called to clarify, we were told that our address is indeed covered, but that orders can only be placed online — which clearly isn’t working. Unfortunately, the staff were unhelpful and offered no solution. Disappointing experience and a very poor online ordering system. We’ve decided to take our business elsewhere.

This is the first time we have visited Weavers Restaurant for some time. We booked a table for 4, on Saturday 11th of January. All 4 of us had different meals and everyone was very satisfied with what they had. Nowadays it is nice to have food served on a hot plate. Shelley and the new young member of staff treated us all very well. We will be visiting again.

We just had a lovely meal here with a group of friends. Lot's of vegetarian options, prices reasonable, and the food was very good. Shame about the 10% service charge, and the drinks were not cheap, but otherwise the environment was new, clean and modern. the atmosphere is very good and welcoming. I would definitely return.

After having a lovely meal the month before, we decided to come again for our friend's birthday. The starters were lovely but the waitress cleared our plates before one of our friends had finished. Our mains were bought out immediately with no wait in between courses and the food looked like it had been thrown on the plates. Don't spoil your good reputation Weavers!

Went in for small plate deal tonight great value £9.95 two course meal. Staff very attentive, didn't feel rushed when deciding on our meal. Drink's reasonable price due to it being part of a social club, food was very good. Nicely presented, hot and very tasty will definitely be coming back

Lee and the team delivered impeccable service for our civil wedding reception. The food was lovely and a great price for 3 courses and the team were incredibly helpful both on the day and in the lead up to the day. Would give 6 stars if I could!

Food was nice would say tho that mushroom starter was quite small compared to salmon and crab terrine. Although ordered three roasts the quantity of vegetable per person was minimal. Staff were lovely but overworked as we sat with empty plates for good 25 mins and waited 10 minutes to pay bill. Was nice surroundings but hasn't got the ambience of a country pub.

The White Hart is a brilliant public house and an amazing restaurant. The staff are so attentive and caring. Have used the restaurant on several occasions the service and the food quality have been faultless ever time. The food doesn't fit this place but in the best way. The place is run down. Chairs breaking, dirty glasses, stained cutlery, sticky tables and the service is shocking. We visited in a quiet period with a constant flow of managers walking back and forth so don't know if this impacted the service. The girl with make up cakes on her face did not have a clue what was going on. She cleared half our table but left the other half. We waited 1hr for food, however I think it's all freshly made to order and it tasted AMAZING! Fishcakes were spot on, really made everything else bearable. The chef needs to set up their own place! 😃

Stayed here as we were visiting Chelmsford racecourse. The room was spacious, the staff friendly and helpful. Our only disappointment was the breakfast. Everything was overdone. A conversation with the manager resolved this though. It's a big old building in need of some refurbishment / update, but on the whole it has great character. If we were in the area again we'd probably stop here again.

We visited The White Hart yesterday for an afternoon tea while catching up with my partner’s grandparents. The team were incredibly helpful and accommodating, making us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. The afternoon tea itself was excellent - a lovely selection and variety of food, all beautifully presented and delicious! We would highly recommend and will certainly be back again in the future.

The staff are friendly, service was great. Had a nice rare rump steak with a couple of very nicely kept pints of Abbott, would definitely recommend and visit again. Thank you

Came as a wedding guest, and WOW Food was absolutely amazing, the 3 course meal and the buffet, really delicious The staff were very attentive and really lovely Just one complaint, the function room was so hot, with no proper ventilation, making it a little uncomfortable. The day we arrived at the white hart hotel, we were greeted by Lauren. She noticed I had a big heavy suitcase &straight away she offered to take it up the stairs. So kind hearted. I was so grateful for her help. Also Ben and Gemma were absolutely amazing always seeing to our needs and making sure we were happy with our stay with there excellent service. Lovely Greek restaurant with delicious food and a great atmosphere. The staff were really friendly and welcoming, and the service was excellent. I was also really pleased that they offer a Blue Light discount , a thoughtful touch that makes you feel valued. Definitely recommend and will be coming back

This was a very endearing company to come & open at Braintree Freeport. When I was going to eat there for the first time, we were early until its opening on midday & there I was accesing. The place I sat in felt like I was on a vacation in Greece & being at a Greek hotel. Especially with those stripy seats coloured like the flag of Greece. Oh baby, they spoiled me with the rich olives, tiers of plates of Greek Salad, bread & meat (I e: lamb, pork) that I was excited to feast on (I am a carnivore unfortunately). Then, I was heartwarmed by my dessert than custard in filo-pastry with vanilla ice cream on top (I never saw that before). Got that burning love. I will forever have a audacity to return there one day.

Worst of the chain water 40 min for our food They must visit the Stratford brunch to learn ! The courgette frites were like small fried meatballs , well burnt , the taramasala was some running white sauce ?!? The flatbread was wet and not what it should be The quinoa salad was blunt and watery Never have I ever regretted eating out ! Stay away or prepare to be disappointed

This was one of the most underwhelming dining experiences I’ve had in a while. The portions were shockingly small – even the salad came in a tiny bowl that felt more like a garnish than an actual dish. For the prices they charge, the value is simply not there. You leave feeling like you’ve paid a lot and eaten very little. Definitely not worth the money, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for a proper meal. There are far better options out there.

After a day filled with shopping, we decided to dine at The Real Greek, as its one of my favourite restaurant chains and I absolutely love Greek cuisine. We were a family of 5 and we served by the lovely waitress called Vicki. Her service was absolutely brilliant and she amazed me when she took our order, but didn't write anything down. She brought our order out and ro my surprise...everything was what we ordered. Such a good memory. I had the pork souvlaki and it didn't fail to disappointment. A generous portion filled with pork, fries, tzatziki, onion and the wrap. So delicious. We also had a Greek salad to share. Omg...simply the best. Relaxing atmosphere. Brilliant customer service by all staff especially Vicki. Would definitely recommend this branch and will definitely be back.

Fantastic evening last night - staff couldn’t be more helpful and welcoming, and the burgers and food absolutely delicious. Want to try everything on the menu!! I booked for two friends birthdays, large group of 14 just a couple of weeks in advance and despite the team having huge party before they took our booking and really went out of our way to make it a great night. Food was lovely! Amazing burgers! We did go on a Monday evening & it was quiet, so not much atmosphere inside but decor & how they've built their extension with all the windows whilst watching the thunderstorm definitely made it! True little gem! Can't wait to go again!

Me and my wife went here yesterday evening for an anniversary dinner. The food and service was top notch and I fully recommend the mac cheese burger. On leaving, I went to pay at the bar and proceeded to pay contactless without receiving a paper bill, which was £95. Although thinking that was a lot for what we had, I didn’t think much of it until getting home. When revisiting the menu our mains, sides and 2 drinks each would have come to appx £60. We tried to call a few times that evening and my wife popped in the next day to be told there is no proof and nothing can be done. Would still return, but definitely get and check your bill, as we were likely charged for another table.

Top quality pub grub served with a smile. Great vibe to the place, and the band on Saturday night we're amazing. Would definitely recommend and will be going back soon.

Simply fantastic burgers. A nice selection of burgers from classic 6oz through to surf and turf inspired burger. Having had the crispy beef and burger, it was full of great flavour and slight spice. The sides were fantastic also, I can recommend the croquettes and onion rings! Good selection of beers and ales too. Welcoming service, with good recommendations offered. The only slight negative would be that sitting near the front window wasn't the warmest. That said, I would definitely return.

Stopped in on the off chance of getting lunch hoping the Vine was dog friendly. What a warm welcome we got! The staff couldn’t be more helpful & welcoming. The landlord even got some water for the dog. Food was absolutely delicious, very generous portions and well priced. The pub itself is very nice. We sat in the conservatory at the back & it was airy and cool on a warm summers day. If you find yourself in Bardfield Essex DO NOT miss this little gem of a place. We will be back!!

Fantastic meal this evening with my wife. The service was excellent and there was a great selection of drinks. We had sticky skewers and Halloumi fries for starter. They looked so appetising getting a photo was quickly forgotten and we shared. An absolute outstanding set of starters. For mains we had burgers, one beef, one fish, once again we were delighted. The triple cooked chips were astonishing. For pudding we had a Eaton Mess and a Lemon Posset which my wife says is the best she has ever had. We will definitely be going back, what a fantastic evening and highly recommended.

Went for Sunday lunch yesterday and it was hands down the best Sunday roast I have had in as long as I can remember. Beautifully fresh and gorgeous veggies, not the usual peas carrots and one other, instead homemade cauliflower cheese, really cheesy, red cabbage, parsnips, baby carrots and a really good gravy, even pigs in blankets and stuffing. Porkies huge and the roast potatoes I could eat all day long 😋 highly recommended 👌

Visiting the area for a brief visit , we nearly drove past except we saw a sign saying fish and chips night, so we decided to drive in. We had missed the timing for fish and chips, but we were certainly not disappointed with what we chose from the menu instead. Steak for my husband and chicken for me, absolutely delicious 😋 then we both had the apple crumble, again delicious 😋 If we visit this area again we will definitely return. Apart from the delicious food, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Thank you 🙏

Very nice pub, with good selection of beers. My partner and I had a roaste dinner, disappoint in the meat, it was chewy very thinly sliced. The Yorkshire were small and dry. The 2 roast potatoes, were dry too, not crispy, for some reason there were a few normal potatoes on top as well. The parsnips were thin and dry. All in all look like had been in a microwave. Another couple next to us complain too about the beef being chewy. Then we had desert, really really disappoint. I have never in my life had such a poor, small apple crumble, in a tea cup.!!! Also took 25 mints to arrive. Who serves a pudding in a tea cup... A tea cup with apple canned apple chunks, and a biscuit crumble on top. A small small saucer with custard... My partner had the same but with ice cream. Words fail me..!!!!!!! Where we sat, I had to keep moving my chair, as we were packed in like sheep. Even though there was plenty room next door. But that would mean staring the wood burner..!!! That be extra cost. My partner did speak with the manager to tell him how to make a crumble. We are local, and so are the other couple. Never again will we go here. We all trying to support local, but not to be rip off.

Today we took a trip to Finchingfield and booked in to the Horse and Groom for lunch... We had a really warm greeting my Karen, who showed us to our table... This beautiful pub is as picturesque inside as it is outside... warm and inviting! We ordered mussels and chicken strips as a starter followed by fish and chips each! Oh my, you will not be disappointed...fresh local ingredients and cooked perfectly! Value for money and really big portions that you will not go hungry...A wonderful find and one we will be revisiting soon... 5⭐

First time visiting since moving to the local area was not disappointed, we had the set Easter lunch and it was to die for in fact the portion was enough for two and the service was great would highly recommend a visit but make sure you book .

Such a brilliant evening! It just felt very special from start to finish! Wonderfully warm and welcoming greeting from Beth; personalised menu cards; cosy, relaxed atmosphere and ambiance with great service and Carl's amazing and delicious food! Couldn't have asked for more! Love the concept of being able to choose several 'small' plates - rather like large starter sizes - we chose one dish to share, three savouries each and a dessert/cheese board. As it was a Thursday, we only booked the week before - if you are in the area, as we were, we would thoroughly recommend that you give a ring to ask about availability (leave name and number and they really do get back to you!) - - and book if at all possible!

Known as the Forager's Retreat this is a little gem. It's set at the end of a big village a way from anywhere with a local shop and hairdresser, while they have a selection of beer and ancillaries for sale as well. We went for Sunday lunch and while menu choice was limited to four roasts (3 meat one veggie) the price charged for the amount of food was a good ratio. Parking on site was adequate.

The chicken pie is excellent! Pastry is buttery and light, with a tasty filling. The goulash is also very good, be sure to lap up the rich gravy with some baguette. Our party was very surprised at how great the food was here. Will definitely stop by here again if we're passing through.

Really enjoyed eating at this little gem of a restaurant, the food and drinks they serve are fantastic, the staff are very friendly and attentive. And attached is their wonderful deli where you can indulge in wonderful locally sourced produce. With all the beautiful made food available to take away. An array of Smoked cheeses, fish and meat and other smoked food is available to name just a few. What a real treat, and was really worth the visit. Welldone guys.

Excellent food, service and hosts! After eating many times at Shillingfords I followed these guys to the wonderful Foragers Retreat where we spent our New Years Eve and Wow were we happy! The building is fabulous, the hosts were incredible and the food was off the scale good and plentiful as ever! Thank you for making our new year special and we look forward to eating with you on your reopening - we are already booked in!!

I visited this place during my trip to the UK. It was very nice both outside and inside. It is a nice place where you can watch a match with your friends, play billiards and darts, chat, eat good food and drink drinks. The staff is very attentive and has a good energy. Thank you all.

Excellent place, went here for an 18th birthday celebration and I couldn't rate it highly enough. It was a really unique looking place with loads of paintings on the wall, It felt like you were back in time at an old English pub for the rich. Really nice atmosphere, good food and the cocktails were delicious. Highly recommended A++++

We reserved a table today for lunch it was 6 of us and when we arrived the placed looked quite busy . We were welcomed by Sam who promptly took us to our table and explained the menu choices including any allergens and seniors menu . We found the option to be at a great value and made or decisions so much ch easier . Even paying separately wasn't an issue - she was so professional and accommodating nothing was a trouble for her. When the food arrived it looked delicious and tasted that good that we even stayed for desserts. Overall I was really impressed with the service quality and the warm welcome that I will definitely be back with my friends again . Thank you Orange Tree team for making me welcome .

Was looking for a Sunday lunch in Braintree and the Orange Tree was very well advertised as serving roasts. Upon arriving I was greated by the lovely staff members who helped me in deciding what to eat whilst also take into careful consideration about my allergies. Sam was especially helpful in ensuring that everything went through smoothly. I'd also like to mention Lilly and Darcy who were very friendly. I would recommend coming down to try their delicious menu and lovely fosters!

The food is reasonably priced, excellent quality for a busy local pub. The menus are very well laid out and easy to order through the app or at the bar, a different deal for each day including a Sunday roast, there is a wide variety to choose and deals for senior citizens. The pub has a great atmosphere with friendly staff and the locals, there is sky sports etc to watch on quite a few tv’s. A large variety of beers including some deals such as 2for1 some days, I love a good deal on beers instead of always paying premium prices for mediocre beers and service like a lot of the pubs in this town, the quality throughout this place is very consistent and prices are very competitive. I will most certainly return when staying in the area, This place is worth a visit, the staff are a credit to the manager and brewery.

Food was good, Atmosphere was nice Service was slow today but not overly busy We ordered cokes from the bar - Asked for one no ice in the coke And a coke with ice When the Coke with no ice came the glass was half full I asked to fill it up as was only half full and was told no that’s the portion size! And they wouldn’t fill it anymore When we had dinner and asked for a coke no ice all came filled to the top! My opinion I’ve been to better customer service restaurants before- just moved here and wasn’t a great first experience from the bar staff I can’t say it was the worse and the restaurant side staff were lovely Just the bar staff let the team down Didn’t serve people in order no smiles half full glasses of coke We spend over £250 here today

We went for Boxing Day Christmas meal. It was very busy but the staff are lovely. Food wise the prawn cocktail starter was pretty tasteless unfortunately but the beetroot Wellington was beautiful. (Lighting not great for the food photos sorry). The table set up looked pretty but the crackers were a bit of a waste other than looking pretty and a 'bang', most people seemed to not wear the hats and they have no gift inside. Could maybe try something different to the cracker like silly Christmas glasses or something? Or are we as a nation so stuck on the Christmas cracker being part of tradition? In which case you could perhaps put your own prize insert into the cracker with different discount or free drink cards? Atmosphere wise, I love the decor the whole vintage industrial vibe is great. The table we sat on was right next to the kitchen so heard a constant bang of the door opening and closing which I did seem to block out in the end, but maybe a divider partition would work? Alternatively be sure to book at a different. Have been a few times and will go again as it's a lovely place with friendly staff.

A nice pub in a residential area. The service was ok and the atmosphere was nice. The food is definitely pricey. The cost of a dessert compared to what you get is day light robbery. Dog friendly pub, so that is always a good thing.

Good choice of either seating outside in garden with access to playing field or inside with very nice decor. Gift menu choices to cover all tastes. Food is good portions, good service and no delays. Great place to eat and drink for all.

The service is very slow. So much potential but we arrived and no one greeted us and the were plenty of staff not very busy..eventually the staff gave us the table we wanted..as I say not that busy.. I asked for chicken salad it arrived with bacon on. Which I don't consume. So I really think the potential is there but customer service could be improved greatly..

Well, let’s start with the setting, beautiful stunning And picturesque. Booked a table for 14.30 today 3/6/2022 arrived a few minutes early and was taken to a table and was asked if this was ok. Ordered drinks they arrived. Asked if we were ready to order, to which we replied we were. On ordering we were a little shocked that there was no pen/paper or iPad ordering System, and thought to ourselves ‘blimey how was our order going to come out’. Anyway!! I ordered steak medium to well done my husband the ribs and my son burger no lettuce. OMG!! Every part of our order was perfect, my steak as you can see from the photo was perfectly cooked, thank you chef. No lettuce in the burger, thank you kitchen staff. But I must say on behalf of all 3 of us, thank you to our waitress for getting the order out correctly and we believe her name to be Nancy. Once again thank you. Also, the ambiance of the place was buzzing, will certainly recommend and return x

We ordered a takeaway 2 hours before opening via JustEat. One hour after they opened they call me and say they can’t deliver now and that we have to either wait another 1,5h or they cancel and we pick it up and pay less. Portions are small, they don’t come with rice and are expensive. Very disappointed, that was the first and last time I ordered in Siam Thai Restaurant

Visited here Saturday night, only two tables occupied, we were offered a table and quickly given menus and prawn crackers. However we waited and waited for someone to take a drink order, eventually we were asked, on enquiring if they had cider the lady went away supposedly to find out.When she hadn’t returned after some time but we could clearly see her sorting takeaway orders and totally ignoring us we decided to get up and leave and told her our reasons. We offered to pay for prawn crackers we had eaten , she said this wasn’t necessary , Do not believe this is a way to run a restaurant by ignoring your customers . We then went to Eastern aroma and had a lovely experience with very attentive and friendly staff.

First of all, it is amazing that in such a small town like Braintree people are able to taste cuisines from all over the world. We were really looking forward to trying local Tom Yum and other treats in this restaurant. We passed along it a long time ago but only 2 weeks ago we decided to make it our destination point. You can feel the atmosphere of the East as soon as you enter the restaurant. Lots of interesting pieces of decor but definitely needs some renovation. Be sure that all of your clothes, hair, everything will smell of the food as it is an open kitchen in a tiny restaurant. Even though there were at least two separate tables, the hostess/waitress offered us a tiny table just right next to another couple. They were leaving anyway but it was weird for a bit. No idea why she would not offer us any of the spare table. While we were there no one occupied them anyway. The food was great. We tried Tom Yum (it was served with no rice, but okay. maybe it is the way it is served here), Pad Thai, and spring rolls. I guess while we were ordering, we confused the waitress a bit as we were thinking to order shrimp or not. We decided not to. Suprise, surpise! We were served something that smells like shrimp and we decided it was our fate that day to eat something shrimp-y. Oh, well, we did not fight it. In just a minute waitress rushed back to tell us she made a mistake by serving Sesame Shrimp Toast. It was too late, we already started chewing it. It was well nice. It was not the time suprises ended for us. We laughed about the shrimp situation but it was no longer funny when we not only saw the wrongfully served dish in the bill but they DOUBLED it!. DOUBLE MONEY lol. Of course, we highlighted the mistake in the bill and one portion was deleted. Well, the best practise is if a restaurant makes a mistake, a dish is not included in the bill. But what do I know...

I have ordered takeaway from here and it is always really lovely!! Tonight was no exception. However, I was told to collect at a certain time and ended up waiting an extra 30 mins. It was the busiest I've ever seen it in there, so I do understand and wasn't really too bothered. Once home, the food was really good as always however was slightly sad about the chicken massaman I'd got, which was supposed to come with carrots, onions and potatoes. I had no carrots, an abundance of onions and 2 small pieces of potato. This was my first time getting the massaman from here and usually I get the red Thai which is always really great! As mentioned the massaman sauce was delicious but would of loved more veg! Overall, I will be coming back and hopefully next time, get a bit more veg 👀

It is such a shame to put this review. The food is amazing but the customer service is awful. Ordered my food at 18:00 for 19:00 collection. Arrived at 18:50 and at 19:20 I was told they hadn’t started cooking my order. I asked for a refund and left. A couple were dinning in and were waiting 45 minutes just for their starter. Lovely people but appears they are unsure how to run a restaurant.

Our first time ordering from Siam Thai and wow!!!! Undoubtedly the best take away we have had around here. It was so clean and fresh and piping hot! I had sea bass in this creamy coconut sauce with peppers and runner beans and it was just soooooo clean and delicious! My partner had Thai green curry and kings prawns and could not fault it either. I hope it doesn’t disappoint next time round as we will sure be ordering again! Thank you!

Amazing little restaurant staffed by incredible friendly welcoming people. The portions arnt huge but they are definitely delicious and well worth the low price they ask. We ate in the restaurant and it is also obvious how much food they are currently doing as takeaway via various apps, they are working so hard and are still giving 1st class service! Thank you ladies. Happy to return and would definitely recommend that Papaya Salad to anyone.

Lovely pub/restaurant, the food is delicious and the service is good. Our waiter was very chill and polite. I had the breakfast and it was one of the best I’ve ever had, and my partner had the Eggs Royale which she loved. I would definitely recommend coming here for brunch!

Just had a lovely meal here with friends. All of our meals were delicious - can’t recommend the fish pie enough! Service was friendly, efficient and welcoming. The place deserves to be full.

Went to Caesars as a recommendation from my brother. We decided to meet up with our families. The service was wonderful and very attentive. The food fresh and very tasty. Potions on the main course was very generous. A fabulous selection of cocktails too, something more places could do. Recommend the Caesar Sour. Would recommend and hopefully visit again soon.

Incredible food, and the all you can eat menu has amazing options. We went on a wensday night so was fairly quite but overall an amazing experience and would highly recommend to anyone.

We booked to go 1pm on a Sunday 4 adults, 1 toddler, found the service average at best, no warm welcoming. The place was cold, fair enough it'd only just opened but it should feel warm considering you're about to sit and eat. Yet there were two other tables there ordering etc so not as if we were the only ones there. We sat in the conservatory bit, lights were only turned on a few mins after we sat down so sat in an unlit room for a bit, not great. Just felt like we'd interrupted someone's afternoon by turning up and they didn't really want us there... Food wise, it was.... okay. Nothing terrible but not great, I get it, buffets aren't going to be top notch food, but considering we ordered dishes and asked for "enough for 4 adults please" why send a dish with 3 ribs for example, so someone doesn't get one?! Squid was a bit chewy, prawn crackers were over done, most the other dishes were okay but again not really enough for 4 people so had to order more. Also found the buffet menu fairly poor compared to Eastern Aroma also in Braintree and a buffet place. Paid for the bill, £130 for 4 adult buffet and a few drinks, however, no usual "how was you food today?" Or "thank you for coming" was just given a bill with gratuity added on and that was it. I don't mind tipping but if it wasn't for the fact there's a lot of clearing up with buffets, the cold service certainly didn't deserve it other than one male waiter who was rather polite and helpful. Would I go again? No! I don't like leaving negative reviews, but sometimes places need to hear feedback. A shame because we read other reviews before going and food looked nice and other reviews looked positive. Maybe it was just a bad day in the kitchen....

I recently went here for a family birthday. The food and service are great as always, and the price was reasonable for the quality that you receive. I had the hot n sour soup, Thai green curry, and they made me their own version of pad thai noodles, as they're not on the menu. They called them Bangkok noodles should you want something similar. They were all fantastic dishes with just the right mix of flavour and chilli heat.

Great food all cooked to order, had the as much as you can eat buffet £19 per head, nice spacious restaurant and very friendly staff.

Was very empty on visit but good fresh food...wider choice would be great, especially dumplings!

We ordered takeaway from China Dynasty and it was amazing! The food was really fresh, full of flavour and not oily (as we often find with other takeaways). The customer service from this family run restaurant was a lovely touch that you don’t find in most places these days - they really care that you enjoy their food. Our new favourite!

Following the advice on the website we rang to book in advance. Our call wasn't answered, however we had a fast call back and the booking was taken for a Saturday evening. The person that answered the phone was very polite and informative telling us about the banquet was unavailable on a Saturday. When we arrived early we were greeted by a friendly member of staff and asked to wait in the seating area near the bar, sat down shortly after. This is a family run business with mother and son being front of house and were polite and courteous throughout. The food was excellent, kept warm with tealight candle trays. Good prices. Thank you for an enjoyable evening. Highly recommend.

5 of us for a birthday meal.what can i say.excellent service and food.we had such a laugh.the staff were so helpful in suggesting how much to order and even played a special happy birthday song when they bought the cake out.would deffinately go back and am considering the take away service in a couple of weeks time

Wow. Just Wow. I don't know Braintree food places well and really fancied a Chinese. My girlfriend said she thought there was one near the sainsburys so had a Google and saw this place. Reviews looked good so off we went . From the start the staff were Fantastic. We love our seafood so opted for a set meal with duck pancakes to start then lobster with ginger and garlic followed by prawn kung po, rice, noodles and a seafood sizzler dish. Everything was cooked perfect, presented well and tasted amazing . I could not fault the place and was a very enjoyable evening. Highly recommended.

Okay food. Service not so great. There is parking in the Sainsbury opposite and its free at night, after 7pm.

After coming a few times to take away a portion of chips, we came here to eat in. The guy who served us was so polite and friendly, really helped us make our experience comfortable (we had a baby with us as well) and the food was incredible. For the price I really wasn’t expecting how good it was. The kebab meat was delicious and the cod was battered beautifully. Wait times weren’t too bad either, enough for us to get comfortable but not too long to complain about. Will be coming back.

I fancied fish and chips and placed an online order with oysters. Myself and my family were very disappointed. The chips were OK, however, we had also ordered 3 portions of cod. The batter was a very dark colour and not very tasty. I could not eat it. The fish was flat and not flaky and obviously frozen. When my son told me the meal cost just shy of £60 I was in shock. I expect a lot better for that kind of money. I won't be ordering again from this shop.

Service was great super quick and staff were polite. That's where the good ends. The food was probably the worst chip shop food I've ever had. The fish was super dry, the ribs were way overcooked and rock hard and the sausage was like mush. Then the thing they should get right being the chips was a sloppy/soggy oily mess. These are not the fresh piping hot super fluffy chips you might expect from a decent chippy they are the complete opposite.

After my boy tasted their chips with the scouts we had to try. He was right. Food is fantastic and large and the staff are excellent. Def recommend.

I'm working in the area and found this place. So far, I've had rock and chips ,and the ribs with barbecue sauce and chips, I highly recommend giving them a try, all the staff are very welcoming and friendly, the food was delicious and freshly cooked, the restaurant is very clean and tidy, from what I could see nothing is to bigger deal for them, 10/10 to all the staff for all the hard work they put in to such a lovely restaurant/ takeaway.

Popped in here after staying in Braintree for the night and our Hotel closing their restaurant at 8 o'clock, booked online travelling down, parked at Sainsbury's, Sunday after 4pm free, less than 2 mins walk to the restaurant, the amazing aroma from the grill as we approached put a smile on both our faces having travelled from N Wales we were famished, greetes with a lovely welcome as we entered by staff, nice, clean stylish decor inside, ordered 2 pints of Efes to start, followed by some complimentary warm bread pieces with a slight spice sauce and a yogurt one arrived shortly after, we ordered 2 mixed grills were presented at the table fairly quickly, and must say was one of the best, both of us in agreement booking a table was the right decision, thanks to you all for a lovely meal and making us welcome

Had our wedding meal / reception at Mosaic for 24 people. The restaurant is very stylish & the interior is very tastefully done. The staff were very attentive & nothing was too much trouble . The food was plentiful, very tasty, hot & well presented. We all ate together and everyone enjoyed their food & drinks. A special ‘thank you’ to Ebru who made sure everything was perfect for ‘my special day’. She made sure we had everything we needed for the day. Everyone commented on what a great venue Mosaic is & I am so glad we had our wedding meal here. Thank you team - Anita & Andy 🤗

Absolutely fantastic!! The best espresso martini I’ve ever had, the baklava was delicious, and the staff were so friendly! Our waitress Ebru was delightful and completely perfect, we could not have had a better experience!

First time experience in Braintree Mosaic Turkish Restaurant. We have tried the branch in Chelmsford which was impressive. The presentation and quality were very good. The food has always been amazing, flavourful, well-presented, and consistently great. We ordered deep fry calamari and lamb musaka. Initially we were served with some complimentary warm bread pieces with a slight spice sauce and a yogurt one.The fresh bread served before mains is one of the best ever had. Service is too quick but effective. Delicious food & calm and quiet atmosphere, service was brilliant too. Would definitely recommend.

Came here tonight for our 8 year anniversary meal and hadn’t been since the refurb. The restaurant looks beautiful and spacious and we had the best time. Food was spectacular and the staff were so friendly and attentive. We can’t wait to come back already.

On Friday I went into mosaic restaurant for the first time, I was greeted by the friendly staff with a warm welcome, there was many people eating in the restaurant And all looked as if they were having a great time, I met the manager who was sitting at the top table and told him how nice his restaurant was, Then proceeded to sit down I ordered some coffee tea and orange juice and some chips and homemade skin on chips as we were not feeling to hungry, But wow to our amazement when it all came out the tea and coffee was lovely the orange juice to die for and the chips were gorgeous especially the skin on chips I have never in my life see skin on chips like it, They were so big and tasty and filling me up I thought I wouldn't be able to eat them all but at the same time being so nice I just couldn't leave them alone, I wish I had taken a picture of them so you could see how good they looked, It won't be long before I come back to sample the delights on the wonderful menu I looked through I urge you to go to mosaic and try it for yourselves

The food was lovely - I had steak Diane- mouthwatering steak cooked perfectly- the nicest Diane sauce - fresh salad and tasty saute new potatoes. Spent more per person as was my birthday and had some great cocktails . Have been here several times and never been disappointed.

Just back from The Bull in Braintree, and let me tell you, if you’re a York City fan looking for a friendly watering hole, this place rolls out the red (and blue) carpet for you! From the moment we walked in, Lauren welcomed us like long-lost relatives – the kind who don’t owe you money. Now, let’s talk about that Chilli Chicken Burger. Oh. My. Days. It’s like they took a chicken, sent it on an all-expenses-paid trip to Flavour Town, and then gently nestled it between two heavenly buns. Spicy, succulent, and worth every bite-induced tear of joy. If that burger was a York City striker, we’d be top of the league. And the hospitality? Top-notch. Lauren made sure we were fed, watered, and generally treated like VIPs. If York City had her running the midfield, we’d be in the Premier League by now. And the locals? Welcomed us like we were the new signing of the season. In short: Great beer, amazing food, and proper banter. The Bull’s a must-visit if you’re in Braintree, especially if you rock up in red and blue. Cheers Lauren, we’ll be back – probably still dreaming about that chilli chicken burger!

Service was fantastic, Caitlin was a dream! Morgan in the kitchen deserves an award for the level of food she produced for us. 10/10 would come back again.

Popped in for a meal before heading to first friendly football game. Lovely air conditioning, excellent service from Lauren and incredibly quick delivery of the meal that was beautifully cooked. 1 excellent flat-iron steak & wonderful fish and chips.

Been a long time since I visited The Bull. But as always I was met with a friendly smile. Has always been my go-to pub. Was a quiet afternoon and not very busy.

I popped in here for a bite to eat at lunch, and I wasn't disappointed... The Level Head ipa was beautiful. The menu looks incredible. i had the cheese and bacon burger, and it was perfectly presented and cooked seasoned to perfection. The pub has always been lovely, since my last visit it has had a refurbishment and it looks plush. I found a cosy spot to eat and watch the world go by. All in all, another good experience would highly recommend if you're in town...
