Indian restaurant
Nestled in the charming town of Shepton Mallet, Somerset, the Mughal Empire stands out as a delightful Indian food establishment catering to the local community. This restaurant not only offers a cozy dining experience but also provides a convenient takeaway service for those on the go. During my recent stay in Shepton Mallet, I stumbled upon this gem and was pleasantly surprised by how quickly I was seated at a table for two.
Went for an evening out at this curry house. The food was very good, tasty and nice spices.

After a really emotional day attending a funeral, we decided to go come here. On arrival we were told that due to a customer breaking the handset taking card payments earlier we needed to pay by cash. We were not told this when we booked a table x 8 over the phone, however luckily a cash machine was nearby 😂. Wine ordered as was the food. The starters and main courses were lovely and we ordered more wine. The original wine of which we ordered, two bottles was no longer available so we ordered the alternative. Again this was enjoyed. So we decided to order another bottle but we must have been the most unlucky customers as they’d run out of this one. So we had there next offering. Again lovely. It sounds a lot of wine but there was 8 of us drinking the wine over an 2 hour period . We were then told the restaurant was closing and basically we were asked to leave at 10pm despite the fact we were having issues with securing a taxi. Luckily, they didn’t throw us out and one did arrive. Food was lovely but there did not appear to be any real management. Apparently the manager was on a train. Some of the waiting staff were great and very apologetic for the issues which was nice. I’m sure we were just unlucky.

Probably the second worst indian ive visited in 30 years of traveling away. which i have visited well over a thousand establishments. The base sauce is the most important ingredient to create your curry. The jaflong dish was watery and very tomato based. I asked for a madras strength and it was totally tasteless. I pointed this out to a waiter who was very arguementative. He even thought it was a jalfrezi lol when serving to my table. The Nan bread and and vegatable rice was nice to be honest. I really think they need a chef who can create a proper base sauce. Would defo never return.

I was staying in Shepton Mallet for a few days and happened upon this place. Got lucky I think when we walked in. Table for 2? No problem. The mark of a good curry house for me is the pops and chutneys, and how quickly they get a drink on your table. Answer: super quick. And the pops/chutneys were superb. Granted, they’re not difficult, but some places do somehow manage to mess it up. Service wasn’t “overly” friendly (which is a good thing), but friendly enough, fast, attentive and straightforward. I’m a stickler for a good veg samosa, and these hit the spot. Delicious. For main, I had the mixed grill and I have to say, quite possibly the best mixed grill I’ve ever had. Tender lamb, beautifully cooked chicken on and off the bone, onions and peppers still had a bit of crunch and not incinerated. Daal masala on the side; equally good. If I ever find myself in that neck of the woods again, I’ll be making a bee line for the Mughal. Thanks guys!!

Visiting on holiday we fancied a curry and was a decision between two in the town , we chose here as it looked nicer from the outside , we are so glad we did , the food was delicious and the staff were incredibly welcoming , very friendly and attentive , we will definitely be back , thankyou :)

A short walk from a hotel we stayed at. We arrived, and were seated straight away. Given time to choose from the extensive choice of menu. The staff were attentive, quick, and polite. The food was absolutely delicious and very much enjoyed by both. We ordered two curries, both were as nice as the other. We shared chips, rice, naan bread and samosas. All of which were tasty and cooked perfectly. The chicken was tender. A birthday cake candle set the smoke alarms off but staff were quick to act and reassure everyone that actually it was just smoke from the birthday candle. We carried on enjoying our meal with very little disturbance. Cobra Indian larger went down a treat. Reasonably priced and very much enjoyed.

Great food really tasty and big portions at a really good price, service was great made sure we had everything we needed, could of done with Aircon as it was so warm inside (was hottest day of year so far) but overall really enjoyed it

We usually have an average takeaway from here. Saturday night my chicken in the korma was inedible!! It was so tough I could barely get the knife through it let alone chew it. I phoned up to complain, they said they would make me another one. I said I didn't want another as I had eaten the rice and the sauce before it all went cold and didn't want to go back to Shepton. Instead I wanted my money back for the Korma. They took my bank details and said they would refund me the next day but I never received a refund. I wont be going there again.

So, I ordered on the App as I had an offer to use, I couldn't find anywhere to say to toast the sandwich, so I decided to order then head straight there so I can ask them to toast it, simple right? this was on 27/11/24 at around 12:45, had 2 people working, sadly didn't get their names. I walked in noticed the woman was already doing my order, had 1 person behind me, hardly busy. the man called me up, I said "Hello, I ordered on the app, I think she is already doing my sandwich" before I could finish he look over the the order and said "will be done by 1pm" in a rude and dismissive tone, I just wanted to ask for it toasted. as she was doing my order anyway, I waited for her to put the cheese on top, and just mentioned could I have it toasted, of course this guy worker butts in and again, looks at the order and said "you didn't put toasted" again rudely and abrupt. I replied and said I couldn't find an option for it, I just want it toasted, Instead of addressing the issue, he ignored me entirely and walked away, by this point, I was feeling quite frustrated and uncomfortable due to his rudeness, I tried asking him what the issue is with me asking for it toasted? and just kept ignoring me, even the people after me seemed confused by it all. I ended up just waiting by the window, no idea if it got toasted or not, the woman handed me the bag and was quite pleasant. I don't usually leave reviews, but this guy went out of his way to make me feel uncomfortable. if it wasn't for the kids on the next order, I think I would of pushed for an apology there and then, if you ever want to apologise for your attitude, I will remove this review. Don't think I will bother coming back, as his face will probably annoy me.
Lloyd K — Google review
I was served 2 very burnt and stale subs, my guess is they were over toasted to hide the fact the bread was stale, went in to get my money back and instead of an apology they tried to explain why they thought it was acceptable. Got my money back and went to Greggs and got a sausage roll instead
Jac B — Google review
Kyle was so helpful and friendly, even though it was busy we felt like he made a lot of effort to help us. We've actually never had better customer service from any Subway before.
Hannah H — Google review
Couldn’t fault this store or the staff in anyway. I come in on a regular basis for a latte and am always greeted with a friendly smile and always leave with one. Customer service at its finest!
Harley W — Google review
I went there one week ago, me and my partner weren't happy. It was only one member of staff and very long queue. Does this big place run only one member of staff? We had ordered steak, bacon and cheese long subway sandwich and there was no any sauce, not much ingredients inside and not any vegetables like it was shown on the billboard. Member of staff had to be in a rush serving other people. It's very good access and very easy to park up, many tables where you can eat inside.
Ewa W — Google review
Rick (tattoo on neck) what a guy! So friendly? Knowledgable on all food and excellent service! Deserved a gold medal for this and the way he prepped our food. Highly recommend this subway been here a few times now and staff are great! 👍

Not been in a subway in England before , we've experienced some in Florida whilst on holiday. We were very impressed with the staff a man was behind counter on our visit which was lunchtime on Tues 7/11 he was very knowledgeable and helped us decide what to have , he was really kind and helpful as my husband has lost his appetite and the suggestion the staff made was very encouraging for him to choose. He throughly enjoyed his lunch . So a big thankyou ! Well done to the staff !

Restaurant
Dobbies Garden Centre Shepton Mallet is a garden center operated by a widespread retail chain. With numerous branches scattered across various locations, this establishment offers an array of garden-related merchandise and services. Customers can explore plant nurseries, where they will find an extensive selection of plants. Additionally, the center boasts food halls and restaurants, providing visitors with the opportunity to indulge in delectable dining experiences amidst their shopping ventures.
I once went to Dobbies a while ago, me and my partner as well the dog. We had an awful experience with our breakfasts being cold, coffee barely warm and just was a very unpleasant visit... BUT....! We returned after a lovely manager gave my partner a voucher to the cost of our breakfasts and sat down once again giving Dobbies another chance to redeem itself, breakfasts were hot and bought over to the table as well as piping hot coffee! Dobbies appear to have listened to their critics and really done something about it! Genuinely impressed with the change in this place! We have since returned 5/6 times having breakfast and purchased plants on every occasion! Well done for the huge turnaround you have gained 2 very loyal customers! (And Reggie the Jack Russell!) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Bought my bedding plants as usual which were reasonably priced and good quality. Had a coffee in the cafe which was very good too. However, the tables were Very slow being cleared and NOT ONE was wiped clean when they were cleared which is Not Acceptable!

Visited Debbie's to meet for lunch with friends. I opted for Sri Lankan butternut squash & spinach curry. It was served with rice & was delicious. My friends had pie & mash & they were equally good. Would recommend this place.

I was in store this afternoon and I would like to compliment Holly who was very helpful, pleasant and provided an excellent service to myself and other customers in the queue. Her pleasant, patient manner to all was a joy to observe and she reflected well on the standards of service set by her employer’s. I do hope this positive comment gets passed on to your employee.
Sandra G — Google review
Only referring to the restaurant - the staff are brilliant and are working their socks off. However the arrangement is pathetic! I’ve just had to queue for over 25 minutes just to have a coffee because there is only one till available. There should be a separate arrangement for patrons who only want a coffee separate from third queueing up for a cooked meal. There were other people in the queue who were complaining as well. The staff are excellent but customers are being let down.
Ray R — Google review
I have been here before and it wasnt great then, it does get busy times but today was not good. 30 to 40% of the tables had left overs on them, tables not wiped or the seats. To be honest it was disappointing and disgusting. There was two younger ladies on the till and coffee moaning about the older one serving food and making a mess. As soon as the older one finished serving food she was out clearing tables while the other two chatted. Hygiene sprang to mind serving food and cleaning tables but fair play to the older woman, she worked her backside off. The toilets were absolutely awful, the stank and the sink was disgusting with dirt and hair in them. The notice board for cleaners was unmarked with a comment to say speak to staff if dirty, really. Shame because that used to be a nice place. In my mind let the older woman run it.
Paul E — Google review
Dobbies garden centre, a regular place for my wife and I, always plenty of parking, good for wheelchairs and well laid out inside. There is a restaurant were you can get good food and drink. Also has wash room, toilet too. Due to the covid 19 as most places their rules and guide lines. Nice big area for plants ornament, plant pots ect, everything for your gardening needs. Normally have a good christmas display and a set evening for card holder, not sure what is happening this Christmas, we will have to see. All in all a nice well presented garden centre with i might add friendly staff at hand. Recommend a visit. Just adding cost free parking, also carry out deliveries. I'll give them 5.
Terry M — Google review
Thought we would have a breakfast before going into the garden centre, what a mistake to make!! Made to feel unwelcome and that it was a complete chore. The younger girl was very polite but the older lady was extremely arrogant and rude! On the verge of me saying something… This lady needs to be sacked she is doing nothing for your company. I ordered the breakfast roll and for £6.25 it is very disappointing especially when the products have been under a hot lamp for ages! The bacon was as dry as a budgies cage. Will 100% never return!!

I was staying here so ended up eating at the restaurant TWICE unfortunately! The breakfast was Included otherwise I would’ve asked for my money back. The ham in the eggs Benedict was cheap and inedible, the eggs were rubbery. Lunch wasn’t AS bad but we would’ve got a better roast at Toby Carvery. The view during the day was nice with the conservatory overlooking the garden but atmosphere in the evening was so dead we spent nearly £100 on cabs to eat literally anywhere else Oh and the evening menu is basically exactly the same as the lunch menu only £10 more

A VERY LUCKY FIND We couldn't believe how lucky we got with the food here, considering how bizarrely empty the town was on a Saturday afternoon. Between us we had the halloumi burger and goats cheese salad with a side of chips. All very, very delicious. We said if we ever know anyone going to Shepton Mallet we will tell them to come here 😊

Well, we were so delighted to find Shepton Brasserie - the food was excellent, the service was first class and our dog was very welcomed indeed. Recently, I dined at Rosemary Greek Restaurant with a group of three others for lunch and it was a delightful experience. The server, Krystle, provided excellent service by being attentive, kind, and extremely helpful. Being my first time in the UK, Krystle not only gave us great suggestions on places to visit but also went the extra mile by providing a car charger for our phones.
Went here for lunch and it was amazing. Friendly service, and the restaurant was absolutely spotless. Good size portions for an affordable price. We had the pork gyros wrap and chicken Souvlaki. The tzatziki was incredible, we had to order another pot! Lovely seasoning on the chips and fresh salad. Unfortunately the stereo system went down but the friendly waiter was happy for us to play Greek Taverna music on our phone! Very enjoyable experience, will definitely return.

Wow what a find! We looked for a restaurant prior to an evening tour of Shepton Mallet Prison and this little gem didn't disappoint! Lovely restaurant on the High Street, makes you feel like you are in Greece. Authentic food, plenty of choice on the menu and the portions were generous. Great service from the friendly staff. Highly recommended if your in the area

I live in Australia and travel around the world often for work I have to say the chicken was the best I’ve ever had so tender and juicy with amazing herbs, great service and a lovely restaurant, will hopefully be back to visit again before I leave. 5 stars all round and highly recommend. Definitely up there for best food I’ve ever had.

The food was tasty & well presented but was only warm. The service was non existent, after taking our order the waiter did not return once to the table to ask if we wanted more drinks or desserts. Finally went to pay the bill by card to be told cash only so had no choice but to find a cash machine in the pouring rain, wish we had been given notice of this before we ordered so we could have been prepared.

Um .. was so excited to try this place. Starter.... garlic bread and cheese... at £6.50 was a disgrace. Main course was delicious.. chicken souvlaki .. yum ... service was OK... needs more staff ... funny smell of damp at our table ... ALSO - on a Saturday evening - no credit card - cash only! thankfully the ATM was working at the Morrisons on the corner! Was not told at the start of the meal ... Anyway, apart from Greek beer and music ... not very Greek... Will not be returning ...

Returning from the West country on a very cold Monday evening we had little choice of restaurants, happily we found this was open despite the deserted streets. The waitress was extremely nice and helpful throughout, our Meze was very tasty but would have preferred to have warm plates, they had a few craft beers in cans

Top place - good find! Staying in Shepton fairly regularly, this is my go-to place to eat. The food is very good quality, with generous portions. A fair selection of beers and wine mean you are well catered for with drinks. There is a good range of classic Greek dishes as well as UK fare - and a rotating Specials board. They are offering the 20% discount Mon-Wed at the moment, which is nice! They are open 7 days and lunchtime as well as evening which, on a Sunday is great! Their Greek coffee is superb! Thoroughly recommend the place.

Hong Kong Garden is a delightful gem in Shepton Mallet, renowned for its exceptional Chinese takeaway offerings. Regular patrons rave about the consistently delicious food and generous portions that never disappoint. The menu features standout items like crispy salt and chili chicken wings and tender beef fried rice, both of which showcase the restaurant's commitment to quality. Diners appreciate the freshness of each dish, with big spring rolls that are a welcome change from typical smaller versions.
I would say this is a brilliant average Chinese takeaway. Think of how you wish a standard Chinese takeaway would taste. Often you’re left a bit disappointed and feel a bit gross. Not the case here. The food is tasty, freshly cooked and good value. The prawn toast are yummy and I love that they do the BIG spring rolls 🤤 rather than the silly little ones which are mostly pastry. Every time I visit family in Shepton I want to come here! In fact I’ve considered visiting Shepton just to get takeaway from here…

Have been a regular for quite some time, and Hong Kong Garden has always been our preferred Chinese takeaway in Shepton Mallet. The food has always been good and portions plentiful. I felt the need to review, as last night's meal was exceptional. The salt and chilli chicken wings were so tasty and crunchy. The beef fried rice was perfect with large, tender, perfectly cooked pieces of beef. The whole meal was so good. Thank you Hong Kong Garden, definitely money well spent and we'll be back again soon.

I recently ordered vegetable chow mein from Hong Kong. Unfortunately, upon opening the packaging at home, I found a hair in the food. I contacted the restaurant, and they were very apologetic, offering both a remake of the dish and a refund, which I appreciated. I went back and returned the original order, along with the hair (which I had placed in tissue paper) so they could actually see it. The manager saw the hair and admitted that he is sorry and it’s his fault. However, even after receiving a fresh portion, I still felt quite nauseous after eating it, which made the overall experience disappointing. I hope the restaurant can review their hygiene practices to ensure this doesn’t happen again.
Nancy K — Google review
Very very good. TBH, as usual I wasn't expecting much from a small town Chinese Takeaway, but got one of the best I've had for a while. Generous portions, excellent SF Rice & Chow Mein, everything else well-cooked, textured and flavoured. Chicken soft, beef not tough. I could go on... Can't comment on price as someone else treated us, but the food was spot on. (And any Chinese that makes me think of the Banshees is a plus...)

Brilliant food and at a reasonable price. They are busy so you might have to wait a bit longer than the 20 min. Take away only. If only they delivered as parking is a nightmare

Some of the worst Chinese I have ever eaten. Sweet and sour sauce was terrible. Salt and pepper chips were standard chips with a couple of bits of onion. Crispy chilli beef terrible. Avoid. Use Sunshine Chinese

Service is always very friendly and quick. The food is fairly typical of a Chinese takeaway, nothing special but you get decent portion size and it's fine if you're feeling too lazy to cook at home.

Located in Shepton Mallet, the Chipper on the crossroads was closed, leading me to explore the town for an alternative food option. This search led me to Shepton Mallet Kebab & Pizza Takeaway, where I encountered two friendly individuals. I ordered a large donner kebab which exceeded my expectations. The portion size was generous, with abundant amounts of succulent meat and a plentiful serving of sauce and salad.
Arguably the greatest kebab in the wider Shepton Mallet area. The definition of a hidden gem. My burger was so exquisite that everyone in the restaurant rose to their feet and applauded the bossman. 10/10 no notes.

Shepton Kebab and Pizza Takeaway is fantastic! The food is always fresh, portions are generous, and the staff are really friendly. Their lamb doner for just £7 is absolutely delicious – juicy, full of flavour, and a definite must-try. Excellent value and one of the best takeaways in town!

great service, lovely atmosphere and very friendly, fab food
Miz Z — Google review
Kebab was mediocre at best, I felt it was rather expensive, got about 5 pieces of chicken shish and a small pile of greasy doner that soaked through the box, then the paper, and then all over my coffee table, so that was nice! It was served with a few limp pieces of chargrilled onions and peppers and whatever salad you ordered which was fine. You can hardly go wrong with salad though. Keep in mind I ordered at about 8pm so not particularly late or early! My advice is to order from wells kebab house, or rams kebab in wells, much better value and better quality and worth paying the delivery fee for.

The King William is a welcoming pub that offers a wide selection of ciders, lagers, and beers. It's the perfect spot for sports enthusiasts with four large screen TVs showing all the 'sports' channels and hosting skittles, darts, and pool teams in local leagues. On Saturday nights, patrons can enjoy live music while mingling with a diverse mix of customers.

I recently visited The King William Pub and was pleasantly surprised by the relaxed atmosphere. It wasn't too busy, making it easy to find a good spot to settle in. They've started offering food, which I haven't tried yet, but it's great to see them expanding their menu.

20 odd years ago I popped in her for a drink waiting for my pals to come down from Scotland via Yorkshire en route to Glastonbury, charming man behind the counter served me proper English Ale, loved the accent, been trying to find it on Google Maps all this time! Sorry for the delay in this review and all the very best!!

Staff were definetly friendly, however it was difficult to tell over the din of football enthusiasts. The pub was quite small and literally full of people watching 4 separate wide-screen TV's with 4 separate footballing events. As a result, Strongbow and Carling was easy to acquire - if that's your sort of thing.

Costa Coffee is a popular counter-service coffee chain known for its hot drinks, iced coolers, sweet snacks, and sandwiches. The staff are knowledgeable about coffee making and work efficiently despite occasional queues due to its popularity. Customers often find seating available inside and appreciate the friendly and quick service. Although the food can be pricey, the quality of drinks is consistently good. Additionally, customers have praised the free WiFi and excellent service provided by the staff.
I always love a good costa, although lately ive been feeling like this costa is getting dirtier every time i go there. I only went yesterday and there was cups, plates, etc. Just all over the tables, but putting that aside its a great little shop to pop in and get a drink to relax with. (Bought the blueberry bubble frappe with a friend)

Worst Costa I've ever been. Thankfully I had a free drink so th e ghastly experience was at least no expense. Normal costa queue when you arrive. Really unusual that the customers who all glared at you when walk in. I pass through this town for work and first am visit for a coffee. The 4 customers ordered complex beverages which led to a further 20min wait for a take out latte. Barista got drinks wrong multiple times so it took 35 mins to get my basic take out drink. No staff shortages apparently, business as usual this Costa. Do not recommend at all.

Decent little place, the lovely female staff are very friendly and professional however the landlord is a puzzling character. He has a reputation locally as a bit of a woman’s man even though he looks like Claude Greengrass from Heartbeat. But on the whole a good solid establishment I would say. Cheers.

The new little angry female workers cause problems left right and centre, ruined the place & atmosphere here. Never had any problems with the old owners for many years but since the new owner one wide little angry woman in particular loves marching around the place pointing in peoples faces hurling straight insults at the people who have been spending money at the Charlton inn for years. Also beware of a giant intimidating man lady who lurks around ready to go lady man on anyone having a bit of fun. GO TO THE VIC! You don’t want to experience these angry little munchkins first hand

We live locally so visit on/off. The two previous occasions, the food was really good. Nice atmosphere & enjoyable. However, we visited last week & it was not good at all. My son ordered the steak to be told it’s either served pink or well done. He opted for well done but it was awful - he said it tasted “off” & it was smothered in a garlic butter sauce - so only ate his chips. I ordered the chicken & ham pie. It was hard, tasted stale, the seasonal veg was mushy & tasteless & the mashed potato was like playdoh. My husband had a burger which was dripping in grease. Sadly we left there disappointed, still hungry & we won’t be visiting again till either the chef or menu changes.
Laura R — Google review
No ales were available on tap so had to order lager. My wife wanted a medium cooked steak but told this was not an option, if has to be pink or well done! She opted for well done as didn't want it bloody but unfortunately it was then far too overdone for her liking and was salty. I had the chicken and ham pie which was mostly crust and not much meat, I should have read previous reviews! Vegetables, red cabbage and greens very mushy. One star for food and drink boosted to 2 star as the front of house staff were lovely.
Neil C — Google review
Ordered the ham and chicken pie with an assortment on veg. I'm by no means a harsh critic but for £17 I felt short changed with the pie. Couldn't find any ham in the pie and there was barely any chicken. It was mostly veg. Left feeling disappointed but quick service and nice staff. Food overall was alright but wouldn't rush back.

Don't really write reviews but i felt like i had to in this instance. Myself and my wife wanted to have a couple quick drinks and was met with a owner who has got no personalty or manners. Sat down at the table which was filthy which attracted the flys and wasps. Thank god we were only having drinks and not having a meal.

I booked a stay at The Mendip Inn via Hotels.com on 31st July 2025. When my wife arrived at the property, she found it closed and unattended. A letter was posted on the door (attached in the photo), stating that the operators had been evicted by the landlord on 29th July — two days before our booking was made. We received no notice from the property, and the stay could not go ahead. This caused significant disruption. Posting this to inform others — please double-check the status of this accommodation before booking.

I Have been coming here for many years here and there, food is fantastic and the lamb Wellington is back! I should of left a review on more of a positive note years ago. However it saddens me to have to say that I attended here last week and an elderly chef was shouting and swearing, smashing things around in the kitchen. I could hear him swearing at staff it was disgusting behaviour. The whole team from bar staff, waiters/waitresses and especially the manager are fantastic, very polite and attentive and just generally nice people. There is no need for a chef to be abusing its staff and swearing around customers especially when children are around. I will be checking in by phone call before I attend next to assure the chef is no longer working there as I do not want my family around such insane behaviour.

The Natterjack Inn, a historic countryside pub established in 1862, provides traditional accommodations and comfort meals. Its rooms are tastefully furnished and feature spacious en-suite bathrooms with excellent showers. Although the inn opens at 6pm on Saturdays, it quickly fills up with eager diners who appreciate the delicious food offered at reasonable prices. It is advisable to make a reservation for a table as seating cannot be guaranteed without one.
Lovely one night stay at The Natterjack Inn, we had a cute little twin room, comfy beds, great shower room, nicely decorated, nice view, quiet apart from a cockerel crowing considering it was just off the main road. We had an evening meal and breakfast the food was lovely full of flavour and nicely presented, you couldn’t fault the service we would definitely recommend it. Really nice atmosphere. Just one point if you are planning on eating there make sure you make a reservation for an evening meal, we weren’t advised to do so, initially we were very disappointed to be told they were fully booked but they did manage to fit us in which we were very grateful for.

We stayed one night at the Natterjack Inn and couldn’t be happier with our choice. It’s excellent value for money, with warm, welcoming staff who made us feel right at home. There’s plenty of free parking, and the rooms were spotless, comfortable, and equipped with everything we needed. Dinner at the pub was a real highlight, the food was absolutely delicious. We also enjoyed a hearty, sumptuous full English breakfast before checking out, which was the perfect send-off. The Inn is dog-friendly, with a lovely garden area just outside the accommdation block where our dog could stretch his legs and have a good run around. It’s a thoughtful touch that made our stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this charming Inn!

Lovely clean twin room, well appointed with tea and coffee making facilities, fan etc. Not the most comfortable mattress but adequate. Spacious en suite shower room with all the normal toiletries provided. Modern twin head shower which took a bit of playing with to get right (never used one before). No grab rail which some might find a problem. Food in the restaurant was first class and a good selection of wines, beers and cider.

Fish and chips takeaway
Fast food restaurant
Whitstone's, a fish and chips takeaway, is renowned for its exquisite Cod Bites - succulent pieces of Cod enveloped in a delightful batter. They also offer delectable Scramps, referred to as Batter Bits by some. The service provided is exceptional and sets them apart from the rest. What makes Whitstone's even more appealing is that they are open on Sundays, making it a perfect pit stop after racing near Yeovil every month without fail.
We had a lovey evening meal here. They booked us in for a last-minute table of 10. Really efficient, friendly service. Food was reasonably priced and massive portions. Great selection of all your favourite chipshop classics. Desserts were lovely, too. My child suffers from a sensitive gag reflex and was unwell in the carpark. Staff cleaned up and provided us with a bag without us even asking. Just small gestures, but go a long way in an unfortunate stressful incident! Thank you :)!

Came here 2 nights on the trot to eat in. The fish the first night was fantastic, the batter light and crispy and not greasy at all. The second night I had fagots which I have to say were fantastic and not too heavy at all. I would recommend it to anyone passing through the area.

Staff are very helpful and friendly. We had 2 portions of cod and chips, one portion poached cod and chips with one portion of mushy peas. 2 x cola and under £50. Didn't have the large cod and chips but don't think we could have eaten them all as the normal portion was ample. Second time we have used this restaurant and well worth a visit. We are on holiday and would highly recommend it.

We went here on a weekday at around 7pm. Without reservation, we were seated immediately, by very friendly staff. Within 45 seconds we got the menu's and our drinks were there within 3 minutes. Food only took 5 minutes more. Amazing speed, efficient staff and very friendly as well. The fish and chips was amazing, lovely big portions, and tasty. The burger was amazing as well, and all together very reasonably priced. Parking is on site, it's easy to reach and the toilets are very clean as well. Love to come here again when we will be back in the UK.

I’ve been here to try twice now and I don’t see how it’s award winning. Both times chips are tasteless and no salt and vinegar on them. I don’t see why they bother asking if you want it if you don’t put it on. Gravy had no taste as was completely watered down so was like eating a plain potato dunked in water. Curry sauce was the same this evening too. Price is reasonable for portion size but no point having a big portion with no taste whatsoever. Very disappointing and I won’t come back now as I gave benefit of doubt last time.

What a fantastic chippie. As we entered the staff were not only disinfecting the table tops but also the chairs including the legs and backrests. The food is of an excellent quality and very large portions. The cod was cooked to perfection and the batter beautifully crispy. The hot chilli burger was the best I've had in a long time. Came here for a family Sunday lunch and quite disappointed. I ordered first out of the group and informed the server of my gluten allergy. I was not shown the allergen matrix. The gluten free roast pork is a regular roast - but no gravy and no yorkshire pudding, this was not mentioned when ordering. The meat and potatoes were both dry and resorted to having ketchup with my meal. Bit different to the traditional roast I was expecting. One member of the party ordered the vegetarian Roast Butternut Squash. She claims it tastes like “pumpkin guts” and found it inedible. Dessert was a bit of a nightmare. The menu states the lemon cheesecake is gluten free. Was really looking forward to it. When it arrived I confirmed with the waiter if it was gluten free, he said if that’s what the menu says then yes. Took a couple bites and he ran back to say it was in fact, not gluten free. He did seem super concerned and very apologetic but was not an ideal mistake to happen. Just glad I hadn’t had any more than I did. Shame though because it did taste delicious!! Received no apology from any management which was distasteful. They did remove it off the bill for us. Wouldn’t recommend this for anyone with allergies. When we spoke to the manager as we left they apologised for the “oversight”. It did not appear that they were in any rush to make changes to the menu. This was not a fault of the server but the lazy and disinterested management.

We called in on our way to a campsite. It would have got 5 stars but management had decided not to put enough staff on that night and the poor bar man was run ragged trying to serve drinks, seat about 4 tables that all turned up at once and the food took about 50 minutes to arrive with a table who ordered after two other tables had arrived (the table next to us and ourselves) ordering before them getting their food first! When the food did arrive it was lovely just a shame the service was so slow.

Had a lovely stay here, it was absolutely beautiful. I believe the manager, a blonde lady? She was really accommodating and kind, really helpful and provided great service even though they were clearly understaffed after recently changing hands and they were extremely busy. Breakfast was fantastic and the staff member was lovely and friendly too! 10/10 will be back again, thank you for a wonderful stay!

Came for a walk in dinner on the 15/6/2025. Greeted by the general manager who was very professional and friendly and promptly showed us to a table. The manager took our food order off us, the food was delivered to the table within 15 minutes. The chef also came up to the dining room to see if everyone in the room was enjoying their food. I would highly recommend this place to eat as the food was delicious and plenty of it! Take my hat my hat off to the place it was poorly run but now it seems to be going in the right direction!

Never been so disgusted and insulted in all my life. Popped in for a drink at 6.20pm on a Wednesday. The staff or maybe manager was a blonde woman approx late 20s . There was a table of 2 in the back room and 3 fellas at the bar. The woman had her back to us and did not make any contact at all as she was on the phone. She ignored all of us for at least 10 minutes at which point the 3 chaps walked out in disgust. She then came off the phone and spent another 10 minutes with the couple in the back room. At this point we decided to leave not having said a word. As we left the woman said to us and I quote.....I don't appreciate you being so rude....at which point my wife said we haven't said a word....so rude, obnoxious and a disgrace to greene King pubs. Will never return to this awfully run place. Just amazingly rude

La Tavola D'Oro is a delightful dining destination that never fails to impress. During my recent visit, I was greeted by polite and attentive staff who ensured our experience was enjoyable, even with two large groups present. The food arrived promptly and was delicious; the portion sizes were generous enough that I took home leftovers to savor later. The menu offers a great variety without overwhelming choices, making it easy to find something appealing.

Wow. We arrived 10 minutes late, and they weren't fussed. The service was excellent, the menu choice big but not to big. The food arrived hot and seemed quick, the chicken in cream sauce with mushrooms and potatoes very yummy. The house special pizza hot because I asked for extra jalapeños. Excellent food & service. Very friendly & helpful staff. Families welcome. Easy wheelchair access, but although there is plenty of room in the toilets it might be helpful for someone to hold a door open whilst manoeuvring in as the toilets are located in a corridor at the back of the restaurant. Well attended by one of the owners we were seated quickly on our booked table. The eating area was full. Food selection was fair and the menus is available to view on line which will show current offering. Food quality was good. I had herb crusted lamb rump. With rosemary jus. It had good flavour as did the dauphinoise potatoes. The remaining veg was just the often served carrot and courgette. All in all fair value, good service, nice setting and good food.

A group of us went last night & we all enjoyed the night. Good menu, good wine & beer selection all our meals came together service was polite & helpful.. if we are in Shepton again we will definitely re visit. Only reason I don't give 5 is down to my dietary requirements & menus isn't entirely clear of ingredients (however I didn't ask to many questions as I find it embarrassing)

This family run establishment offers simply some of the finest dining there is in the area, think traditional and seasonal good English food. Elizabeth David would have certainly enjoyed her meal here as well as we did, highly recommend, and will return!

The pub features an inviting atmosphere with beautifully prepared dishes that showcase a variety of flavors, from sharing plates to hearty mains like lamb and sea bass. Visitors appreciate the selection of beers and wines available as well.
Had a fabulous Sunday lunch here. It was really lovely and a place to eat I would whole heartedly recommend. The staff were all very friendly and the atmosphere warm, welcoming and relaxed. It’s the sort of place that you can see they all work very hard to make it look easy. Definitely worth a visit and we'll be going again - our dog even got a biscuit for being well behaved!

Enjoyed lunch at the Oakhill Inn and was very pleased to find this hidden gem. Staff were very friendly and helpful and did everything possible to accommodate my wifes allergies. This meant we both had a very enjoyable meal. The food was all good and I can recommend this pub which is larger than it looks from outside. There is a car park but you need to look out for the signs, as it is not immediately next to the pub.

This is a gem of a pub. Such friendly service & beautifully cooked food. We had a sharing plate with a colleida scope of flavours then I had lamb & my husband had the sea bass for mains. Beautiful balance of flavours. Highly recommend. We would come again if we lived closer but can recommend to anyone staying at the fabulous Oakhill campsite as just a short walk away. Also great beers & wine selection.

Just got back from a weekend stay at this lovely pub. The staff were fantastic- so friendly and helpful, the food was great and the rooms are really nice and clean. Bed was so comfortable. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay

We stayed here for two nights while travelling through England. A gem indeed! Mel made us feel so welcome. The local community makes this place a pub you want to return to. The bedrooms are spacious enough with comfortable beds and lovely interior design. The menu is short but great and no complaints about pizzas, pies or fish and chips. We are happy to recommend this pub/B&B

Our visit to Somerset was made so fantastic by Wayne and his team at Oakhill Inn. It is a great base to explore Cheddar Gorge, Glastonbury, Bath and many other great locations. We arrived on Sunday and were shown to our fantastic room with a stand alone roll top bath. The accommodation was very comfortable and clean. We had Sunday Roast which was absolutely amazing. The rest of our meals including breakfast which they take orders for the night before but my wife wanted something different to the menu and this was no problem for them. The locals were all very friendly and give advice on places to visit. The rear beer garden is great for catching the sun whilst enjoying a nice cold drink.

Excellent Sunday lunch. Well cooked and great flavours. Good other choices if you don't want a Sunday roast. Puddings were also super. Service was excellent. Not the cheapest but in my opinion you tend to get what you pay for! Would definitely visit again if I was in the area.

Looking for somewhere for lunch after returning from Cornwall, with over 200 miles still to travel. Couldn't have found a better place. Delicious homemade pie with veg, mash and gravy. Friendly staff behind bar. Parked up the road as didn't realise pub had its own small car park on opposite side. Thoroughly recommended for the food, friendliness and peaceful ambience.

A chance stop as it was on the route of a long road trip. A welcoming local place, wholesome pub food which was good value, Ok but basic drinks options, marginal wine options. Clean and a cosy old English inn with a roaring fire set in rolling hills. I'd stop again if passing.

Overall very a very good first visit here and would return again though. Food came out at a good pace and a good quality. Staff not so friendly though it was a Glastonbury Saturday evening so might have been a busy day.

Really don’t like doing this, but being forced to. Please be aware, if you use their premises there may be a chance you may get a parking ticket for no reason. Even though I got full proof of using the restaurant, I call them. They said it wasn’t their responsibility and it was with a company called Smart Parking. I emailed them several times to get this looked into, no reply, then they had the cheek to send me a letter saying thank you for payment of £60 fine… stay well away. Awful behaviour.
John C — Google review
Really disgusting behaviour with the pay parking. No signs when entering. It was Glastonbury festival and the car park was filled with Campervan and no signs visible whatsoever. We stayed, we ate and were fully paying patrons. No signs indoors saying about paying for parking. No idea or indication we did anything wrong and got a £100 fine for using the car park….really petty and poor of the highwayman. Tried to call but no answer. Would not recommend and really put a sour note to the end of our trip. Shame on you
Chris T — Google review
Our room was very clean, just a couple of missing lampbulbs. Tea and coffee provided. Beds were ok, bathroom very clean but shower head was wobbling about. Good towels. Toiletries provided. No WiFi away from the bar, bar area was "tired" and not a place to linger long. No availability for breakfast. Woken early by workmen leaving. It seemed to be a place for workmen to stay. The staff were friendly and polite.
Vicky T — Google review
when we arrived (late tues afternoon) the language in the bar was 'colorful', not the pubs fault of course but bear in mind if you are bringing children. Bed linen and towels clean, but sadly our room was tired, with £20 of materials and an hours work could be easily refreshed, shame. We eat in the pub, friendly staff, reasonably priced, food was OK, no surcharge despite what was reported in another post:-) Unfortunately the Sports TV was competing with the in-house music. Bathroom was tatty, mouldy in the shower, taps needed descaling.
Phil B — Google review
Really tired pub/inn , stayed for no night after our trip to Longleat , steep steps to the rooms so no go for less abled people , really run down feel to the hallways and place overall , no handrails for the stairs , rooms where basic as Iv stayed in , mattress and pillows paper thin , on a positive the sheets and towels were clean . Didn’t eat there as we ventured away from it for our evening meal , no breakfast provided , overall wouldn’t stay again.
Leigh S — Google review
Awful place couldn't stay there as toilet coming away from floor smell of urine in bathroom. Damp on ceiling and walls in bathroom. Beds never heard such noise everytime you moved in it. Left within half an hour of arriving.

Stopped off for lunch which was really nice however this was ruined as wo weeks later we received a £100 parking charge from a company who manage the car park inspite .of registerering my car on the tablet in the bar area with he help of one of the bar staff. The car park company say they hadn't received the registration. The highwayman didn't want to know and said they couldn't do anything about it. No proof of you registering you car is given So beware when visiting as it could cost you more than you think. Alan . .

Easily one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had. The waitress was polite and friendly, they were happy to make a couple of item for item exchanges on the breakfast and it was served hot and fast. Everything was cooked to (at my least in my opinion) perfection, and the coffee was lovely. Would 100% visit again!

Stopped here with the intention of having a late breakfast / lunch. We were seated quickly and given menus. However there was absolutely no choice for Vegan/Vegetarian diets. The server did offer a Vegan jaffa cake and offered to do the breakfast without the meat but nothing clearly labelled so we decided just to have a coffee and left. There were no Vegetarian or Vegan options for anything, even the sandwiches. Very disappointed.

It is evident that the Bell Inn strives to provide an enjoyable experience for all its guests.
The Bell Inn Evercreech is an ideal country pub. The staff and Landlady are very friendly and inviting, the food was great, all locally sourced from nearby farms and businesses. We only had breakfast there so cant say about the rooms but i can imagine the experience would be just as good as the service we received that morning. It's set in an ideal location just on the outskirts of the village. It was well presented, clean and tidy. It has a rustic look and feel. Only used the pub and the beer garden. The carvery looked amazing, but we'd already eaten so just had dessert, which was delicious. Will be back for the carvery another day. It is a beautiful old building, large too - you can see the archway that would have led to the stables back when it was a coaching inn. Service was friendly, there's a skittle alley, 2 lots of outside space - the beer garden and a courtyard. What's not to love!

Great little place. Checking in at the bar was easy, and the gentleman who assisted us was very polite. The room was small but perfect for a one-night stay. The bathroom was well-designed with a toilet, shower, and sink. The restaurant provided a pleasant experience, featuring a well in the center. The food was delicious, well-priced, and the service was impressive. The young woman handling both the bar and table service did an excellent job on her own. It's an ideal location, just 6 minutes from town and the hospitals. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it.
John M — Google review
Staff were nice and helpful. Breakfast is buffet style cereal or jam and toast. Dinner was nice, basic pub food. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Considering the location and what it is, I personally think the rooms are very over priced, saying that with how quiet the pub is on an evening, its probably the only way they can survive. The only fault really is there doesn't seem to be any sound proofing between the bedroom floor and pub ceiling. I could hear loud music and talking. The music in the bar actually wasn't that loud when in there, just seemed to amplify through the floor. Fortunately I had earplugs so didn't disturb my sleep.
Steff E — Google review
I'll be honest, the room was rancid and I got flee bites all up my arms. The carpet smelt, mould in the corners and the bathroom was grim. The barman was kind and helpful but they don't serve food anymore so just pointed me in the direction of the local takeaway which was safer than eating at the "sister pub" which looked just as bad. Compared to the other reviews of this hotel, im not sure what hotel they're staying at, but it's not my experience. Also the toilet roll holder fell off the wall and the tap didn't work..... I think it's had its day and I'd avoid it if I were you.
Cathy S — Google review
Terrible stay. Didn't seem very lively upon entering, you could count the people in the bar/restaurant area on one hand, for a Friday night seemed strange and not convincing. The receptionist wasn't very accommodating at all and shooed us off to our room shortly after everything was all okay with check in. The room was small. The mattress was incredibly lumpy, you could really feel the springs digging in and it over hung the actual bed frame underneath which I've never ever come across. The bathroom was very poor, the fixtures were hanging off the walls, the workmanship in the bathroom and the shower was incredibly poor and it looked awful, this was a theme continuing into the bedroom itself making it not a nice place to be. I think maybe the cleaners need a bit more attention to detail as the room was filthy, everywhere you looked dust was gathering. On returning from dinner, as we felt if the food was as bad as the rooms we certainly wouldn't eat there and plus they don't do food past 8pm, we noticed what the receptionist failed to mention earlier was to enter our registration into the tablet for the parking. However very conveniently the hotel and bar area was all locked down and couldn't access the tablet, this was only just after 9pm and it says it is all locked and closed at 10pm. We have recently found out we have a parking charge, obviously, you cannot make it up. As you have guessed we certainly wont be staying again, I advise others to as well
Ben R — Google review
We recently were driving by this pub when we noticed smoke coming out the back of our vehicle. We pulled into the car park to assess the situation and call a garage close by, whilst there we were extremely concerned about the smoke and smell from the vehicle. We tried to see if there was anyone in the pub to help us. We spent a total of 11 minutes in this car park, hoping a fire wasn’t about to start whilst making frantic calls. A few days a later we receive a parking fine, which we appealed. The appeal was denied. We appealed again, but this has also been denied. I would avoid the pub at any cost, given management are happy to employ a company with such little compassion and understanding. A broken down vehicle stationed there for 11 minutes with smoke bellowing out just feels really unreasonable.
Ainslie M — Google review
It was an okay stay. If this had been a cheap and cheerful bed and breakfast, I'd have scored it higher, but based on the prices we paid, things could have been better.  The staff were pleasant and helpful, but the rooms and service could have been better. Expect double beds not king size; fans not air conditioning; showers no baths. Also, the room had a few defects like a faulty tap and bathroom lock.  We had two rooms, and the cleaner only seemed to make half the beds, and didn't replenish tea and coffee. Breakfast was pretty disappointing as well. It states a continental breakfast is included, but pastries are very limited, so some people only had toast and cereal. Like I said, this wasn't a bad place, but given the prices, customers will expect more.
Joseph C — Google review
Rooms are very basic, and the ones that i stayed in were very small. Food service was non-existant, and the pub next door stops serving evening meals at around 19:30, so if you are out and about and get back later on in the day, dont rely on eating anywhere within walking distance of the hotel. Biggest criticism is the parking - ANPR controlled car park, and despite entering my correct registration, still got a parking fine for the first night of my 4 night stay. Appealed against the charge, and despite the acknowledgement that i entered my vehicle registration correctly, and the evidence supplied that I was a guest at the hotel, the parking fine was upheld, albeit reduced to £20. Tried to contact the hotel about this, but no-one actually answers the phone and despite 4 or 5 voicemails left, no-one called me back. Overall, there are better places to stay in the village center. Wouldn't willingly go back.

Drove there to see if they had any rooms after getting to Glastonbury too late. Reception wasn’t open so sat there for a few mins until I found an open hotel and got a parking fine.

What an experience? Do you like character? Quirky? Fun? A dog that looks crossed with a boar! Then this is the place.😊 Loved it! Good rooms, comfortable beds. Did I mention Tony is an excellent chef and an even better storyteller? Highly recommend for an entertaining time.

Great place to stay. Tony is a great cook, and is a treat to chat with. Spent many hours sat by the fire with him, during our stay. Room was quirky, oldy worldy, but clean. Suited us perfectly. If you want a sterile, dull hotel chain room, this is not the place for you. Will definitely be going back.

Meet by Tony on arrival and we could book in early. Took our dinner choice and showed us up to our room. Room was family room which was large and spacious. The room was clean with bath and separate shower. Dinner was very tasty especially the dessert. As we were on ghost hunt at the prison, getting back at 0300 was no problem. Breakfast was just as hood as dinner . Would book again.

We were not staying at the Dusthole, but the food was recommended to us by our own guest house, so we gave it a try. Wow! Truly delicious. And massive portion size. And a very reasonable price. The Baked Camembert starter was served with an actual loaf of bread - not just a few slices... Then the huge main course arrived... we didn't think there was any chance of finishing it... but we did: there was no way we were going to leave a scrap of such a delightful meal behind on the plate. A memorable meal. Worthy of a public mention.

Our stay at the Dusthole was good. We were a party of 4 booked into 2 rooms. Our room was very nicely decorated and cozy. The other room was quite cramped and uninviting. The staff in the restaurant were polite but not as friendly as expected for an English inn. I still would recommend an overnight stay here, especially since it is close to Cheddar Gorge.

Went for a meal at Jagua last night and it was absolutely amazing, the food was delicious, had starters, mains and sides. The staff are wonderful so polite customer service was 10 out of 10, the manager came and introduced himself and we had a lovely chat with him, the waiter was fantastic. Have never felt so welcome and looked after in a restaurant. They really go above and beyond

Third time we’ve been here, not local to the area, went in the one next to the Chinese first and the man was rude, toilets filthy. Went in this one, food is lovely and we’re picky! Clean welcoming lovely staff! Couldn’t believe it was basically empty! Get yourselves here and help a small business!

Booked fora birthday treat. What a disappointment! The table wasn't ready, no freindly greeting. Husband left without a chair. No atmosphere at all, half the restaurant unlit. Drinks didn't arrive till we ordered for the second time, one starter (from 3) missing, and the starters were full of oil. Made me feel ill so I couldn't eat my main. Service was appalling, our food was dumped on the table, our hot plate wasnt lit and the yoghurt dressing was slopped on the table it was dumped so hard. Bill of £75 for 3 mains, 3 starters and 3 soft drinks. Won't be going back. Definitely not recommended!

Myself and three friends ate here last night, we didn’t book, we just turned up, on the off chance they could fit us in, we were welcomed with a smile, the service was great and the food, well what can I say? It was beautiful, I can’t think of anything negative to say, it was so good, honestly this was the best Madras I’ve eaten for years.

My Wife and Myself have just celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary (04/09/24) with a fantastic meal at Jagua Indian Restaurant. The waiter was very polite and we didn't feel rushed in any way. The food was amazing and couldn't of been any better. This has to be one of the best Indian meals we have ever had, very impressed. Thank you for making our anniversary meal an enjoyable evening all round! We will definitely be back again soon. Andrew and Sarah, Castle Cary.

Ordered a takeout. Arrived slightly later than expected. Food was lukewarm and the naan was mouldy. Saag aloo was good but the rest disappointing. Won’t be ordering again.

Got recommended this place by locals. It was lovely, food was really tasty, staff fantastic and friendly. If you’re ever in Shepton give them a try!

We have ordered a few times. Lamb korma and chicken korma each time. The meals have been great in temperature and fast.. the first order was great. The second and third time we ordered from here... The chicken korma was runny and the veg rice was mega 🔥. The lamb korma was extra spicy and there's supposed to be no spice.. so could not eat it at all. So we have decided we probably will not be going back. Again the first order was great but shame it went downhill.

Very friendly service and really lovely people running this place. I sent an email about my dietary requirements and they happily provided for me for breakfast menu to help me with my allergy issues. Helpful with the tourist places A car park on site. They do provide meals for lunch and evenings if you require and has a bar too so we would come here again. Clean rooms and lots of room.

Owner is there, at the desk .. it’s rare now but it’s clear she cares a lot and is taking a series of steps to make the most of a historic and charming hotel - how many are left which are privately owned?! I had room 108 which was cute and comfy with iconic little views from two windows. Noticed a good sized outside area and the free parking was useful so centrally located in Shepton M. Price was very reasonable for a couple of nights stay. I didn’t eat at restaurant so can’t say how that was but would stay again if in area - so easy to nip down road to Glastonbury and enjoy the Tor views on the way.

Stayed one night to be close to the Sunday Giant Flea market at the nearby showground. We arrived in time for lunch and found they sell my favourite beer Caffreys. Quick service and friendly check in and they had reserved a parking spot for us - nice touch. The all day breakfast was tasty, hot and a generous size with two of everything. The room was light and airy and the bed was comfy. It needed a luggage stand, the bathroom was carpeted and there was only a thin blind, so the bright morning light woke us up. The beer garden could do with some TLC. Overall though a pleasant stay and would stay again.

I never expected to find myself in the quaint town of Shepton Mallard, but here I am stumbling across what I can only can describe as the most stunning of English pubs. With not a single pub open in the entire town, the shrubbery hotel offered for us to dine and wine in style. From the stunning decor and the on time yet delicious food this hotel offered it all to us. I cannot thank you enough for your hospitality and a brilliant time.

Lovely 16th century inn. Rooms ok for a base to use for nearby attractions. Cooked breakfast was very good. Geoff was everywhere, doesn't seem to stop. Really nice place to stay.

It's a nice place to stay and it took us 20 mins drive to Wells and 20 mins drive to Glastonbury. Jeff, the owner guided us with these 2 places with Iternary and that was so easy to cover all places. He is very helpful and great guy. He made good breakfast and dinner. Family had a great time.

What a lovely place was booked in by the company I was doing some work for. Turned up late Sunday night to be greeted by the owner Jeff a lovely man who couldn't have made me more welcome... Room was great perfect for what I needed small but ideal and I was placed at the back as the festival was in full flow... Had the best night's sleep the two nights I stayed so quiet and the bed was so comfortable... Eat here both nights food was great and reasonable cooked again by Jeff who seems to do everything. Had breakfast the morning before leaving and again great service and lovely breakfast... This place is 15th century but spotlessly clean and I hope to stay here again highly recommended

I am thrilled to express my utmost delight with the remarkable transformation of The Crown Pilton. It exudes a charming, captivating, and innovative ambiance. The staff is exceptional, displaying extraordinary friendliness, kindness, and attentiveness. This pub caters to diverse clientele: young groups of friends seeking a pleasant evening out, couples desiring a romantic experience, or families wishing to spend quality time together. The well-designed garden offers ample seating and distinct sections.
We had the most delicious Sunday lunch, courtesy of a recommendation from the lion pub down the road….thank you very much, they did us a huge favour! Great service and atmosphere. Loved this little gem and will definitely return.
Julia B — Google review
I had such high expectations for this Sunday roast, but it was very average. The service was not good. We were forgotten about for the first 10 minutes, with multiple tables around us getting menus / service before us, despite being seated after us 😅 I ordered red cabbage as a side, as the roast did not state it came with any. It arrived with loads of red cabbage already on the plate 😂 The gravy was very oily, and the food was just nothing special, and even a bit bland.
Alexandra B — Google review
We had a stunning Sunday roast here and can't recommend it highly enough. The staff were incredibly accommodating, seating our huge party in their upstairs function room. The food itself was exceptional. The beef and pork belly were both beautifully tender. The red cabbage was a perfect balance of sweet, tangy, and spicy. And those roast potatoes? Crispy on the outside and wonderfully fluffy on the inside. It's worth getting a side of cauliflower cheese—it's utterly delicious. Even the vegetarians were raving, with one declaring that the nut roast was the best they'd ever had! The only tiny quibble was that the Yorkshire puddings were overdone. The rest was so good that this can be overlooked. Bonus: They also have a big garden. Highly, highly recommended pub for a fantastic Sunday meal.

Deceptively big! The building itself is bloody gorgeous with a beautiful outside area and firepit too. The staff were incredible. Very knowledgeable and you could tell they cared. On our table of 12, a few mentioned that their steaks were not cooked to their liking, however most enjoyed their meals.

Super friendly staff! Really good beer selection. Love the beer garden! Food lovely Really lovely pub.
Ian D — Google review
Long awaited visit to the Crown since the makeover. The work that's gone into the pub is quite something, with plenty of attention to detail. The food was good, and there was a wide selection of craft beers and cider. The pub was busy for a weekday night, but we were seated in the dining area straight away and although busy was a great atmosphere and not too loud. Although the food was on the pricier side, the menu is well put together and effort has been made by the kitchen to produce decent plates. The staff were excellent and welcoming, Reggie looked after us, it was good to see passion about where he worked, the menu and drinks (and also very funny!). Will definitely be back.
Tom C — Google review
Steak was delicious as were the chips but so expensive and to be charging £3 for pepper sauce on the side meant it was a real treat and not somewhere you could go often. The fish sharing platter was also really disappointing - one fish cake between two and 4 small goujons. It didn’t really feed one person let alone share. Just a plate of sauce. Everything else was great. Best duck salad. Great Guinness. Beef Burger, Chicken wings and pork belly were sold out unfortunately.

Evercreech Plaice is a delightful spot for those craving classic fish and chips. Diners rave about the perfectly cooked portions, with crispy yet fluffy chips that never disappoint. While there's currently no delivery service available—making it tricky for those with mobility issues—the friendly staff ensures a warm atmosphere whether you order in person or over the phone.
Lovely food, but I can only have it when I have someone over mine (so they can collect it) as there's no delivery option available - which is a shame for people with mobility issue. I had hoped that they offered that, but no. Still lovely tasty food to be had.

Excellent food, very good selection on the menu, friendly and helpful staff. The best fish and chips I've had since moving to Somerset.

Wow, first and last time. I only got chips, and i didn't think you could really go wrong with that, but i was wrong. The chips looked like they had been cooking since last week, dark brown, and tasted like they'd been dragged from the sewer. If it's the voice of eating here, or going hungry, I'd take the latter option

Sunrise is a gem for anyone craving delicious Chinese takeaway. With a reputation for amazing food and generous portions, it's no wonder this spot has become a favorite among locals. Even during busy times, the service remains efficient, with meals ready in about 15 minutes! Their menu boasts fabulous rib options and delightful soups that keep customers coming back for more.
We ordered over the phone and collected within 15 minutes. Friemdsly staff and Food was amazing! We've had lots of Chinese takeaways but this was one of the best. Will be ordering again next time we're in the area 10/10 Also Carpark behind and they take card 👍

We had a treat takeaway tonight and what a disappointing dinner it was nothing was edible the chicken balls tasted like cardboard and we chucked the duck in orange sauce dish away as the smell was really offensive and the meat looked off I would avoid eating at sunrise hopefully we are not all sick later such a shame wast of money

One star for existing. Ordered duck and rice. Rice was stuck in a lump. Duck was caked in soggy batter, no mention on menu. Whole thing was revolting and looked disgusting. Will never eat there again. Always the same with chinese in small country towns. Duck in plum, sauce is supposed to have plum sauce, not fried in batter with soggy onions. Dont go there. Look at the photos.

Food was inedible! Chicken in black bean was in a weird batter and did not taste like chicken. Chilli beef tasted like paint stripper, everything else over cooked and bland. I am so disappointed!

For those who can't decide, the Swan Triple Roast is a must-try.
Brilliant evening at the swan. Really welcoming to a spontaneous larger group (night before a wedding) drinking and having pizzas in the bar area. Always really friendly and ready to help with any questions about their large range of beers and ales. Food was great and quick from ordering, child friendly too. The car park can be a little busy but there’s a medium sized free car park in the village about a 5 min walk away which is brilliant.

Lovely pub (just went for Sunday lunch, didn't stay). It's got a good vegetarian selection for pub lunches on Sunday, and vegan options too, always a bonus! A bit pricey but that reflects the area 😉 My dining companions all mentioned that there wasn't much veg with the roast but good otherwise! Beautiful sunny day, so we got to sit in the garden - really lovely. Pretty fast service; downside of sitting outside meant we couldn't set up a tab but not a big problem! A nice place to visit for a treat

Stayed overnight on a Friday en route to Cornwall. Staff were so helpful and attentive. Beautiful big bedroom for 2 adults, a baby and two big dogs! The most dog friendly pub/hotel we've ever visited. Breakfast was also a 10/10. Will definitely be back.

I cannot speak about the rooms here but if they’re anything like the food they’ll be 5 stars as well! We sat with the dog in garden, I cannot call it a beer garden as it was far to nice and well kept for such a title! The staff are very polite and friendly and the food, my goodness the food. My partner had the chicken salad and I must say it was the best chicken I’d ever had. Thinking things could get better I bit into my burger and it was, frankly, amazing. I cannot think of a single fault to my dinning experience here and I would recommend The Swan, to anyone.

La Bella Restaurant has taken over the space previously occupied by Rosemary Greek Restaurant, establishing itself as a unique dining destination in Shepton Mallet. On Valentine's Day, despite being busy, the staff managed to maintain excellent service and quickly served delicious meals that left diners raving about their flavors.
We aren't local, but we were staying nearby for the weekend. The staff were so friendly and greeted us as we arrived. We didn't have a reservation, and we had a 18month with us. This wasn't a problem at all, and they made room for us. Not only was the service brilliant and welcoming, but the food was so tasty! My wife said the lasagne was the best she has ever had! My risotto was also absolutely delicious, so much flavour. We were looking for a tasty Italian, and this was exactly what we wanted. Thank you 😁

First time at this place recently & whilst the food was lovely, there were too many check ups on how everything was. One dish came out incorrect, but the correct one was brought out quickly. Also, not everyone had finished their starters but one of the servers cleared the plates of those who had finished, rather than waiting until everyone had finished. These points are just minor & I'd like to add the staff were very welcoming & friendly, plus I'd return for another meal. 😊

Ordered a collection here for the first time tonight. Food was ready quickly and still hot when we got home 15 minutes later. The mushroom starter is amazing! Excellent quality pizza and pasta and tasty calamari. Friendly service and good prices.

I went with my family on valentine's Day busy day , staff a bit over pressure but they handle it well we didn't wait long for the food , the place was well decorated and good environment. The food was 5 stars 🤩 very tasty and while we were there people reaction when they tried the food was very reassuring that La Bella Restaurant do good food for the Shepton Mallet community. The only thing that I would recommend this restaurant to do is getting more clear about allergies for their costumers. Valentine's Menu was good but no allergies showing 😔 and everyday Main Menu needs improvement compared to other restaurants. Overall the food is great and congrats to the Chef and keep up the good work for many years to come 😉😉

Our group of 8 Dutchmen visited La Bella. Our hostess gave us an overwhelming welcome. On top of that the food was more than excellent. Presentation and even more the tastes were amazing. You delivered us a wonderful evening in many ways.

My friend and I had the most delicious meal last night. We'd previously been to La Bella soon after it had opened, it was good then, but last night the food was outstanding. The staff have obviously really found what works. Soon as we arrived, most tables were full - always a good sign. Was a challenge to choose from all the tasty options and this was also the reason why my friend and I ate way too much. There was a bit of a wait, but that gave us time to enjoy the restuarant atmosphere. We had: Caprése Squid Garlic bread with mozzarella Linguine Pancetta Linguine La Bella Biscoff and New York cheesecakes A bottle of Merlot Cider Every dish was exquisite. The caprése was sooooo good with the basil and balsamic, the pasta was al denté and all the FLAVOUR!! I was left with the zipper on my jeans undone to fit it all in... Actually, I'll eat less next time, but really, if you want to indulge, this is the perfect place to.

Last day of August, the sun shone and the pub was full. People eating, drinking, talking, laughing and dogs clearly welcome. Food was excellent as always, our party of five enjoyed everything… beef, pork, lamb and nut roast. While the menu offers went beyond just Sunday roast, we chose to remain with tradition. Highly recommend… the Ally is definitely the place to spend Sunday afternoon and if you eat, expect to feel truly satiated and slight pressure on the waistband!

Disappointing. Ordered here as usual Italian Pizzeria shut. Price was higher, for ‘shop bought’ base. Barely cooked. Unable to distinguish between ‘normal’ base and the sourdough one purchased at increased price. Wouldn’t buy again and certainly wouldn’t recommend.

Pizza was delivered 3 mins ago. Completely underwhelmed by this bland offering of a pizza. No seasoning, tinned mushrooms all very ugh. Part baked baguette for garlic bread and watery coleslaw. It is now in the wheelie bin. I won't be back.
Caroline H — Google review
So dissapoined. Have just recieved our £50+ worth of pizza and sides via just eat. Inedible. The base was soft and undercooked, cheese was very chewy and every piece of food tasted and smelled of unclean ovens. Even worse, when we called to complain, the telephone operator did nothing to remedy the situation and told us to go back to just eat. Will not be re ordering again.
James C — Google review
Disappointing. When I see a business with a name like "Ciabattino's Pizza" I expect something with homemade dough bases and fresh, flavoursome toppings, unfortunately the pizza I ordered had neither of these. So in future I will unfortunately be more likely to order from Domino's, which offers a similar quality mass-produced pizza but is cheaper.
Mark R — Google review
I’m sorry but I did not like it at all. Tasted more of washing up liquid than anything else for some reason. The box probably tasted better. Save yourself the money and get a frozen pizza.
Jude H — Google review
When it came it was just room temperature, base was puffy and took up most of the space making the ratio bad. The fish “goo” deeper into the dough and made it soggy and unpleasant. There wasn’t a lot of topping either. Dissapointed as it was my first time trying

Fantastic pizza and bbq chicken wings and didn't have a very long wait in fact it was early, beats domino's hands down and supporting local businesses. 😋

If you're in the mood for a delicious pizza experience, look no further than Domino's Pizza - Shepton Mallet. This popular delivery and carryout chain offers an extensive menu featuring not just pizzas but also a variety of other dishes and sides to satisfy any craving. Customers appreciate the reliable service and friendly staff, making every visit enjoyable. The collection process is quick, although parking can be tricky if you arrive during busy times.
Always reliable and friendly and I always love a Domino's pizza. Even better, as my order was on expenses and I'd lost my receipt, they were brilliant at sorting that out for me at a later date. I'll be back!

Obviously a clueless chef tonight!! Worst pizza they have ever delivered and we have used them since they opened….Pizza base under cooked and had all toppings on including substitutions I had made!? and twice as much as should have been which were also undercooked!! Wedges were raw!! Such a shame as very good normally! Binned virtually all of it…which trust me is a first!!!! Dominos obviously struggling for staff as we all are!!!!!
JUSTIN — Google review
Some of the worst customer service I’ve ever seen, never had a correct order, never been on time, staff don’t understand you when there is a problem due to a language barrier..often give the food to the wrong customer. Don’t expect any compensation other than maybe a free dip if your lucky. Literally my very last resort for food, rams next door is much better!!!
Jac B — Google review
Speedy collection time and great pizza. Parking is an issue if there aren’t any spaces directly outside the shop but not a big concern as you’re only collecting.
Ben J — Google review
Order a takeaway for delivery the food wasn’t great. The chicken tasted funny chicken wings and chips tasted like they’ve just been reheated and old. Not a great experience.

Terrible staff very rude I had a member of staff called shrhm or sherey acting like a manager while he is still doing training. They messed up my order And refused to replace it or refund it
ALI H — Google review
The food was to-be-expected for Dominos, but the service was not great. Our order was taken, and was put on the tracker screen - 15 mins until ready. That's fine, we pop to the shops and go down the road for a few minutes. We come back with one minute left. It took another ~5 mins for our pizza to turn up. Other people were recounting their experience, claiming that the shop had taken ~15 mins after the assigned time for the pizza to be provided. Half-and-half pizzas were unavailable, and although it was not their fault that they weren't, it was the first time I had entered a Dominos with this unavailability. On the plus side, their wall was decorated with Dominos facts which have enlightened me on a pointless subject.

The Manor House Inn is a charming bed and breakfast located in Ditcheat, Somerset. This historic Grade ll listed building dates back to the 17th century and offers sleek guestrooms along with an upscale restaurant serving gourmet meals. The inn is situated in the picturesque Mendip Hills and is known for its fine dining experience. Additionally, it's conveniently located near Paul Nicholls Horse Racing stables and Barbers Dairy.
Wonderful stay for two nights with kids. The staff are without exception very friendly and helpful, would recommend a stay on that basis alone. However the food (both breakfast and dinner) was also excellent, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. We ate outside in the garden a couple of meals, plenty of space, and the kids loved seeing the tractors and horses wandering past. Only slight knock is that I would say the pizzas are pretty average.

Stayed 3 nights recently, dined at the pub restaurant every night, thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Enjoyed the ‘locals’ pub vibe, made us feel like a local. Service was spot on, welcoming, friendly, and efficient. Ambience in the pub/restaurant was cosy and comfortable. Food was good, varied menu choices, although we struggled with the large portions (no room for pud’s alas). Clean comfortable room and bed, excellent walk in shower. We’ve now booked a stay at another of the Chickpea Group pubs on the basis of our experience at the Manor House Inn.

We had a beautiful stay at this pub. Such a lovely historic building with a lovely fire and loads of character. The room we stayed in was extremely comfortable and spacious. There was really lovely attention to detail throughout. The bath was especially lovely! Dinner was really delicious. Some real standout dishes including the hake and the chocolate torte. The pie was outstanding as well. Luke (who I believe is the manager/boss!?) was an absolute delight. Very kind and accommodating and helpful. I would love to come back!

Revisited this hotel for the first time since it has been refurbished and reopened. What an excellent job the new owners have done. None of its character lost, super cuisine and a friendly atmosphere. A special mention to Luke who did a great job "up front" , but not forgetting the rest of the staff who were excellent. Also a great addition with a superb Pizza range which can be eaten in or taken away.

We arrived to a warm welcome from Joe, the fires were lit & the candles glowing on the tables. Our room was amazing, spotlessly clean, beautiful & so comfortable. A personal welcome letter with all the information we needed to know, milk in a chilled flask, plenty of tea bags, ground coffee & homemade biscuits were waiting for us. Our dinner was delicious & every member of staff that we meet was so friendly, helpful & professional, they seem to really enjoy being part of the team. Breakfast was brilliant & lots of it. The fires were lit and to look out & see the autumn colours of the leaves on the trees & the horses trodding by was a joy! I really can’t thank Joe & the team enough for such a wonderful stay, their attention to detail made all the difference. I would 100% recommend a stay at The Manor House Inn.
Philippa — Google review
Manor House Inn was broadly very nice with good food and nice staff however there were a few issues with food and room that could be improved. In terms of the room, the bed mattresses are incredibly soft and do not provide support however when I notified the hotel, they did provide harder cushions timely so that was helpful. That said, I wouldn't return to this hotel solely because sleeping at the hotel was not the best experience. In terms of food improvement, we had the Sunday roast in the evening as we were told it was available all day but it was not suitable for the evening as the food was left out all day and not prepared fresh for afternoon/evening guests. The tap water jugs available were small and not really sufficient especially when there was a heat wave. At breakfast, they should have bread out for toast and a toaster instead of bringing out only 2 pieces of lukewarm white toast to the table for 2 people on request (granary bread mostly not available).
Natalie R — Google review
Manor House Inn exceeded all of our expectations. Luke and his team did everything they could for our engagement weekend, they went above and beyond to make it a truly special weekend for us. The room was beautifully done, extremely comfy bed, perfectly equipped (particularly the cookies and fresh coffee in the room), and the pub itself downstairs was nothing short of perfect. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was cosy with lovely fireplaces and ambiance. Helen, of note, was so friendly and gave us a huge hug when finding out our engagement news. Thank you everyone at Manor House Inn for making our weekend so special - we will be returning!

Very comfortable 1 night stay whilst on a short bike touring trip with my wife. Secure undercover place to store the bikes. Room - excellent shower and comfy bed with provision of kettle / teabags / cafetiere / pouch of fresh coffee along with fresh milk in a thermos and complementary cookies on arrival. Lovely bar area with roaring fire and what sounded like a mix of holidaymakers and locals. Typical (posh) pub fare for dinner along with sourdough pizzas. Liver and bacon was superb although couldn't finish the enormous liver! The following morning I had a 'half' English breakfast which was possibly one of the best I have ever had - and I wouldn't like to know how big the Full breakfast was! Staff without exception very friendly - an example of how hospitality should be done. Would highly recommend.

Nestled in Shepton Mallet, Aurora Kusina is a delightful culinary gem that pays homage to the rich flavors of Filipino cuisine. Co-owned by Amber Smithwick, who draws inspiration from her mother’s roots in Tondo, this eatery offers a menu that beautifully balances traditional dishes with modern twists. With half of their offerings being vegan, guests can indulge in standout items like the chargrilled chicken and the creamy pork bicol coconut curry served with fragrant burnt garlic rice.
You MUST visit this place. We booked as we are travelling to the Philippines soon and wanted to experience the food beforehand. Aurora Kusina set the bar VERY high, and now our expectations for Filipino food is through the roof. Everything we ate was incredible. Even our Mum (who plays it very safe with food) loved and ate everything. Not only was the restaurant experience amazing, Amber went above and beyond, providing us with loads of invaluable insights and tips for our trip. Love this place.

Hands down one of the best places I’ve ever eaten. I was looking for somewhere to eat, and this was the first time I’d ever seen somewhere on Google Maps that was rated five stars. Ross the chef was really sound and cooked us some unbelievable food. The lady serving us was so lovely too. We are moving locally to the area from Bristol soon, and this will be somewhere where we will take friends and family!

It was here I had my most recent Filipino cuisine back in the UK after a month and a half in the Philippines and what a way to do it. All the amazing familiar flavours from the Pearl of the Orient but with classic local British meat quality. It is a fantastic combination I will never get bored of. The owner’s mother should be extremely proud of what the kitchen is putting out. Maraming salamat.

Good grief! What a find. We walked into what looked like a charming cafe/bistro with a very calm and comfortable air and decor. We felt immediately welcome. Becky, our server, helped us decide between unfamiliar dishes with expert insights and recommendations. The food... out of this world. Everything was cooked, flavoured and seasoned to perfection, served with a knowing smile and every plate left the table empty (except for half of a portion of exquisite purple baked cheesecake, which came home with us). Thank you for a truly wonderful meal.

We were staying in a spa hotel in Shepton Mallet, wanted to try something different other than the hotel food, stumbled across this gem, food was incredible and service great too. Some really comforting familiar food, but also some interesting unique ones which we hope to come back for again! Date of visit: 26/09/25, 8pm, 2people

I've eaten here three times now and the food has been delicious each time. A small Philippino gem of a restaurant at the end of the High Street. The interior could do with a refurbishment, the decor is a bit drab and I'm not keen on paper tablecloths. I also don't like service charges added, customers should be able to leave a tip if they wish to. Interesting food, well cooked and delicious. Well worth a visit
Greg D — Google review
I've had this particular restaurant on my list to visit for such a long time but I live a little far out from Shepton Mallet. As my mum is Filipino I always like to find gems like this that remind her of home in the Philippines and Aurora Kusina did not disappoint! I took her here as a belated bday treat. Honestly, the food was outstanding. I can see the "twist" on the traditional Filipino dishes but the essence of that "home cooked" feeling was not lost. Definitely brought me childhood feels. We shared a bit of everything; Aurora's OG Lumpia, Longganisa Meatballs, Chicken Adobo and Kaldereta. The No Waste Turon was a lovely end to our meal, as recommended by Amber. I called in advance to take home a couple Ube Cheesecakes and a few Mango Floats and it was SO appreciated by my fiancé and family who couldn't join us. I personally think I should have brought home more! Amber and Ross, thank you again for the sensational food and wonderful hospitality! Will definitely back for more.

If you're on the lookout for a delightful culinary experience, look no further than Mulberry & Thyme Cheddar. This charming spot offers an impressive selection of food that has garnered rave reviews, particularly for its exceptional chips and delicious cod and chips. The atmosphere is bright and clean, reminiscent of a motorway service station but with a welcoming vibe.
Food was lovely , the best chips I've had in a long while . The ambience is a bit like a motorway service station , but incredibly clean and light place, a little on the warm side ! Have also been here for drinks as well as food and all good x

We visited this morning for a family breakfast with our dogs. After ordering we sat down inside, but were told to sit outside (because of the dogs) almost straight away . It was chilly, to say the least and our food went cold quickly. I have to say that this was not a very pleasant experience. Thinking ahead, what are dog owners supposed to do in the depths of winter? Sit outside in the snow?

I ordered some Jammy Dodger style biscuits in advance from here for my wife's birthday while we were in Somerset. Communication was great from the start, collection was easy and the biscuits were well priced. They tasted great and we're bigger than expected. Great flavours and really soft and crumbly biscuits. Much appreciated. Upset I didn't get any photos of them, but I'll have to visit again one day

We popped in for a light brunch. The cafe was very clean and bright and the owner was really friendly and couldn't do enough for us. I had the tuna and onion baguette and my partner had the tortilla omelette. Great size portions and both were made with quality, flavourful ingredients. I had an oatmilk iced latte and my partner had a tea and again, the service was great. We had a slice of cake too and that was really nice - light and sweet, a great treat to share between us. Will definitely keep them on mind for future cake orders ❤️

Delicious cakes and a very, very tasty breakfast. Full English but using Romanian? sausages, cooked to perfection with crispy bacon and just slightly runny eggs. Bacon sandwich with fresh, thick granary bread. Decent tasty coffee. Really well priced too. This is now our go to for breakfasts. We do keep meaning to try more cakes but we are full after the breakfast!

Ours seems to be out of step with others' experiences. We found the sandwich and cakes distinctly average. While the food looked nice, it wasn't very tasty. Prices weren't displayed clearly and I rather resent the nearly £40 it cost to pop in for a quick bite.

Long-running chain delivering pies with a wide variety of toppings, plus spicy wings & salad.
My favorite pizza place since I was a child. Ive been eating at Gatti's for 35 years or so. The crust is perfect, the sauce is amazing. The flavor has been consistent all these years. I love it. Highly recommend.
Brandon D — Google review
So I came here for dinner 3.21.2017, I walk in to a buffet establishment I expect to see a buffet, correct? Apparently not. I am disappointed for a few reasons. The team (of 2 people) have one pizza (cold) out as well as a few cinnamon sticks that are hard as a rock out; they had been clearly sitting there since lunch. As I continued to pay for the "buffet" I gave the place a second chance and put in an order for a few fresh pizzas. Upon them coming out about 15 minutes later I see they missed a pizza that I had ordered. Needless to say that is strike two. After all of that I overhear them tell another customer that they are out of ranch. A. Pizza. Place. Is. Out. Of. Ranch. How is that? Huge letdown considering this is strike 3. Lastly we had a word with a "manager" only to see the second worker eavesdropping very rudely. As well as watching the "cook" handle money, man the phone & proceed to make whatever pizza he is making WITHOUT washing his hands. I'm sorry to say that this particular gattis is now off my list.... No wonder this place is empty, big mistake.
Dani C — Google review
This place trash . The soda machine never works . They are never ready for lunch time people. Let's not even talk about the TVs in the place they never work . The people that work there are on there phone most of the time. I have gave this place multiple chances . I give it a half a star!!!!
Michael L — Google review
Called, was put on hold for over 10 minutes. Hung up, called back. Got a busy signal after a few rings. Waited 20 minutes, called. Repeat. Guess I’ll just get pizza from Pizza Hut. If management reads these- you have good pizza, but staff isn’t doing their jobs. 2 YEARS LATER UPDATE: Service was great! Super friendly staff, they answered the phones. However the pizza tasted genuinely like cardboard. I know for a fact that Gatti's pizza is delicious. This was not the deliciousness I had come to expect from Gatti's over the last 20 years. Did the ingredients change? Is the cardboard packaging the problem? The cinnamon sticks also tasted distinctly of cardboard.
Nick — Google review
So grateful for this location to be open again in Oak Hill. They usually do an excellent job when ordering for my kids. Except this last time they didn’t put extra light sauce like I had requested. Unfortunately, when there’s too much sauce my kids won’t eat it and so then it becomes my money wasted... which is basically money that I really don’t have to be throwing away like that. Any other time I would have given 5 stars. It’s just important to follow the customer’s request when they make specific requests like this.
Christina ( — Google review
I have been coming to this Gattis since I was a child, and have never had problems until recently. Maybe under new management, but it's totally gone down hill. Recently decided to give them another try and ordered for pickup, and arrived at the time it was supposed to be ready, only to wait for an additional 30 min for them to realize our pizza had been sitting there ready the entire time. Cold pizza. They gave us a free one after I called the manager, and the next pick up we ordered, the 15 min pick up time turned into over an hour. They ran out of crust and let an entire room of people sit and wait for 30 min without telling them they wouldn't receive a pizza. Needless to say there were many angry customers. When we asked for the eta on ours since it as well over 45 min past the time it was supposed to be ready, we were told, "it's coming- it's a free pizza". The pizza was free bc of the last screw up... Do yourself a favor and get your pizza from somewhere else.
Kim M — Google review
One star is really too good for my experience. Walked in not a lot of variety of pizza and what is on there doesn’t look very fresh. The tables and over all doesn’t look too clean. Salad bar ok that’s why I gave it one star ⭐️!!! Games for kids not working so wasted our money on that and they too feel like dirty. Probably will never go back to this one again!!!!
Lucina M — Google review
We’ve been Gatti’s customers for over 40 years and each year the quality gets worse each time we order, now customer service and promised times have exceeded what is normal. Tonight we ordered pizza at 8:56 PM and I was given a 30 minute delivery time. It is now 10:36 PM and when I call the store it says that they’re closed and no pizza has been delivered very very very disappointed and quite frankly it’s unacceptable.
