The hotel though was a bit of a let down. Of course we saw the four stars and rave reviews, but once inside, we were not so impressed. The room was small and utilitarian furnished. Now, this would not necessarily be a problem if at least the airconditioning unit functioned properly, which it didn't. The outside temperature was above 30 during the day. A four star hotel must have a working airco system. Perhaps the hotel management switched it off because there were not many visitors. Anyhow the room was oppressive, so we had to open the window. To be fair, we did get a 10 € discount because of this situation. The beds were reasonably firm and slept quite well. Breakfast was on the spartan side though, raw eggs to be cooked by the guests in the cooker, toast bread and a croissant, one type of yellow cheese, disappointing. The Italian star rating system is certainly tricky. It doesn't really mean anything. Lesson for next time. All in all this hotel was not a bad proposition, reasonable value, but the airco malfunction certainly put a damper on our enthousiasm.
