Restaurante Pizzaria O Moinho is a delightful culinary destination that offers an impressive array of Italian cuisine, including mouthwatering pizzas, alongside European and Portuguese dishes. This charming spot caters to various dietary needs with gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options available. Guests can enjoy the convenience of free Wi-Fi while soaking in lovely views of Miranda and the river. The atmosphere is vibrant, often bustling with locals who appreciate the generous portions and quality food on offer.
Open despite Google saying it was closed. A bit like Dr Who's tardis - enormous on the inside. The portions were enormous too. The food was excellent value and quality. The place was buzzing every day with locals which says it all. The views were lovely over the gorge and dam. Order the paella for 2 with caution. It was super quality and enough for 4 easily. In fact, just order half of what you need! You'll go away full. The staff are really friendly and obliging.

Food ok (you have traditional Portuguese food and Italian) but atmosphere is kind of noisy! Crowded with lots of people!
João N — Google review
Nice views of Miranda and river. Pizza was a very good option, and the Robalo was delicious. Servers were very polite and helpful.
Antero R — Google review
Very friendly staff.Thank you all and of course Luis
Herve R — Google review
An average restaurant, though prices are reasonable. Not a lot of fish in the Bacalhau a Bras which was a mixture of rice, cod, potato and onion. The flavour was fairly bland, but edible. Certainly not the best bacalhau to be had in Portugal. The pizza was ok, bit again, not the best pizza I've eaten. Service was good but not excellent and the waitress needed reminding to bring a number of items ordered. Ambiance was far from relaxing given the packed dining area. So all in all an average review for an average restaurant.
Rob W — Google review
Great service even though the restaurant was very busy. Delious pizza & reasonably priced. Menu had a great choice. Children's menu was also very good
Rachael K — Google review
Good food, quantity more then enough, not too much time waiting. The only one open for dinner on Sunday. The price also adequate. I recommend.
Vitor J — Google review
Music extremely loud for restaurant ambience, people had too scream instead of talking, slow service, food mediocre, not impressed.

great place to eat local food! the coal-grilled lamb and kid are both DELICIOUS: juicy and tasty. to start it recommend the CHOURIÇA: it’s homemade by the owner. never tasted a better chouriça!

Portuguese restaurant
Restaurant
Miradouro, a traditional restaurant in Miranda do Douro, offers a unique dining experience. It is one of only two restaurants in the area that serves the renowned beef dish known as Posta Mirandesa. The restaurant boasts breathtaking views of the river and old city, and all tables are separated by glass partitions to comply with safety measures during the pandemic. The portions at Miradouro are generous, and their signature dish, Posta Mirandesa, is highly recommended.
The starters , mixed salad and paella , mains grilled lamb and lamp chops, desert cheesecake and mango pudding , all perfect. Food excellent and service stupendous. Wine included. Fantastic value
Elaine E — Google review
It was a nice restaurant. We started with melon and curred ham. They were delicious. Then we had the mirandise vitela and bone in rib eye. Booth are large cuts that could be shared and both were excellent. The resturant had a sign saying that the beef was from a local bread and even listed the ranchers name. Same for the lamb. The other table in our group had the roast chicken. It looked very good and they said it was. Don't skip desert. I had "camel drool". Don't let the name fool you, it was delicious. It is a whipped condensed milk with caramel. There were also several types of pies and other cakes. The prices as I recall were also very reasonable.
James B — Google review
At the beginning we've got bread and butter without plates. At least very quickly the weiter came to take the order and was pleasent. we were 6 adults persons and none of us was satisfied. I've ordered a beef casserole and got an unchewable sole of beef with a layer of cheese covered it. Only the cheese was eatable and kind of tasty. All of it was swimming in cream sauce that had no taste. The food is not tasty and even unchewable. I also had a salad campera that had no sauce, the lettuce had taste of sand. Some of the tomatoes were rotten. The only thing that was o.k is the quick service.
Adi K — Google review
I visited for afternoon lunch in late September, lovely tapas and very friendly staff.
M M — Google review
Great restaurant with amazing views over the river and old city. All tables are separated by glass partitions to adapt to the pandemic. Huge portions. Posta a Mirandesa is the ex-libris of this part of the country. Don't miss the delicious red fruit cake.
Maria A — Google review
The two starters of clams and fish cakes where excellent Main courses arrived before finished starters which seems a common issue - chefs driving the service rather than the waiting staff which could be eleviated by a maitre'd to manage things. Main courses large but the salt cod dish and the salt cod salad both lacked seasoning. Tomatoes in salad tasteless. Waiter friendly enough.
Neil B — Google review
The tomatoes wasn't good, tasted like it was recycled and looks tired. The place was too crowded, too noisy. We asked to turn off the AC cause it was stinky and cold but they just make it stronger and colder. The waiter wasn't pleasant and not helpful at all. I waited to my dish for 10 minutes after the rest of my family got their dishes. NOT RECOMMEND AT All
Inbar K — Google review
Nice setting restaurant with nice view. So sorry that the food does not compliment the surroundings. Firstly bread was served without any olive oil(being close to Spain/Portugal u will expect excellence and pride in their table oil). After asking we received olive oil that was tasteless. Menu said steak and when arrival at table was chicken in white sauce that any 5 year old can re-create in their mother’s kitchen. The plate was also filled with the biggest size of rice portion ever to round out the lack of taste. Veal was undercooked.

Guests rave about the attentive service, which adds to the warm ambiance. The menu features high-quality dishes, with local specialties like bacalao taking center stage.
Delicious food for the entire family! Also had the best vegetarian dish in the entire town!!
J — Google review
The ambience is amazing. The decoration is beautiful. The service was nice and the food was tasty, but it was too expensive for the very little quantity. I must say that we were starving after eating in this restaurant. Again I encountered a totally different way of serving that has nothing to do with the typical north Portuguese restaurants, that serve good homemade food with a good portion and good ratio price/quantity/quality. In my opinion it's a pity that this restaurant and others nearby in this town are trying to change the trend of the good serving criteria of the north part of Portugal, by inventing a modern twist, that in my opinion, is spoiling the traditional recipes (and I risk saying, some are even changing the traditional taste) by making them in tiny portions with extremely high prices.

(Translated by Google) A super beautiful and welcoming space. We ordered soup, a veal chop, and a chocolate mousse, all of which were delicious and perfectly cooked. We also ordered some olives and were disappointed when they served us black olives from the supermarket, when the description, and the area where the restaurant is located, led us to expect local olives. We also had some alheira sausage balls, which were good but not surprising. A suggestion for presentation: swap the bamboo board for a local wooden board. We didn't order the bread, but it was brought to us and we were charged for it anyway. I wasn't bothered by the price, but rather by the gesture. The service was attentive and attentive. They even asked about and brought a few more of the meat accompaniments that came in a small portion. Overall, it was pleasant, but there's still room for improvement to make us want to come here again.

Pizza with a view!! Stunning view over the Doura River on the terrace at the back, provided the temperature is tolerable! It was quiet on the day we visited so no need for us to book, but this could be different during peak times and weekends. Staff were friendly and the food was good (salad and pizza...what could go wrong).

Everything was excellent, especially the Caprichosa pizza and the Nutella pizza. Also good words for the waiter, who was very kind.

Fantastic pizza and even better vibes. Our server Lucas was amazing, and the owner Emanuel was also great. Staff was fantastic and Lucas went above and beyond during our dinner.
Sahj D — Google review
Surprised with the light dough, maybe just a little too much topping but the dough was 100% on point!
Sven C — Google review
The pizzas were good but strangely they do not allow additional toppings and none of the pizzas have anchovies! The tiny terrace has amazing views over the Douro but only has only room for two small tables for 2 people and impossible for lunch time dining with no shade.

Great place to enjoy typical Portuguese dishes. Cod (Bacalhau) is the star of the menu. We had four kinds of it: À Brás, a la Portuguesa, ao Forno and Zé do Pipo. The last one is my favourite and it was really good. However the one they really nailed is a la Portuguesa. We also tried some sirloin and it was really good too and well cooked. The portions are large so it's better to share (4 dishes for 6 is a good ratio). The service was really good too. Very kind and attentive. Dishes take time to cook so be ready for some wait. Price was really nice and the location very convenient. Overall, a very nice place to enjoy Portuguese food. I sincerely recommend it. We will be back!.

The ambience was very nice, the service was professional but not as kind and nice as in other places. Our food was too expensive for the little quantity served but it was tasty. I was quite disappointed with my french fries, as they were frozen and oily. Those that know the good homemade Portuguese French fries know that what they served is not it. I think it doesn't correspond to my expectations of the typical local food and way of service, for those who know that in this region the food is served in good portions and for a very nice ratio price/quality/quantity. But I see potential to improve.

The food was amazing, one of the best Francesinhas I ate. De servers are nice, it's a tradicional portuguese service wich can be seen as a bit abrupt and rude, I can tell you confidently that is just a way of being and a way of making you feel at home. About the atmosphere although it's not a fancy and cute one it is a really good tradicional portuguese restaurant atmosphere. The food was so good that we ordered some for lunch tomorrow and because they didn't have the platter to bring home the food they gave us their personal platter to bring home and asked us if we could bring it tomorrow, that`s the trust and the welcoming way of being of the portuguese people

(Translated by Google) We have gone to this restaurant since it is the most valued in Miranda de Duero. Have we gone crazy? Who has been capable of these evaluations? It is a neighborhood bar that does not even have a dining room, well yes, it does have a dining room but shared with the bar counter that advertises chips, worms and ice cream. Despite the first impression we were left believing that perhaps the reviews were referring to the food. Mistake. Of the three or four dishes they offer, we ordered two, Portuguese and French cod. After more than 30 minutes of waiting (we were alone in the place), having put on our coats because of the cold, being desperate and bored by the views of the street behind the windows, and the dirty and dry drippings that showed that the air conditioning unit was losing water, the dishes arrived. The francesiña, recommended in the reviews, error, is a sliced bread sandwich that contains several layers, meat, cheese, sweet ham, chorizo, frankfurter sausage and cheese. All of this bathed in an impossible to identify sauce and on top of it a fried egg. In our case it didn't have eggs because they had run out. The fried cod was neither fu nor fa. Extraordinary fries. Impossible to eat the fracesiña. Half-baked cod. We fed ourselves on chips and ran away. The attention of the waiter and cook, the only ones who deal with the business, has been very good. Maybe we should add the age or age range in the reviews. In my case I am 67 years old and maybe at 17 I would have eaten it all, but not today. Tastes change as do our expectations. But we must know the difference between what a restaurant and a bar are. And have a rating scale in each of them since there are restaurants and restaurants, and bars and bars. We ordered a Frenchie, Portuguese-style cod and a chicken breast... Impressive. The cod was very large with potatoes and garnish, the chicken breasts with potatoes and rice, and the francesiña.... Luxurious. With a spectacular sauce.... They also brought us a plate of homemade potatoes. At dessert time they brought us two trays full of fruit and yogurts of all kinds to choose whatever we wanted. And then two coffees. We 3 people have eaten a lot and everything has been 44 euros. So we will repeat without hesitation. Furthermore, the attention of the owners has been super friendly. A place to take into account.

The steak was second-rate, and the cod, I wonder how I can put it. I think I defrost fish better at my local supermarket. I forgot to mention that you can browse the menu as many times as you want, as they only have three dishes. That's the only surprise the waiter gives you. Finally, it seems that payment terminals haven't arrived in this town, so you have to pay in cash. Everything cost €36.

They offered us franceshiña, beef steak, and cod, all delicious and at a good price, with an appetizer and great service. (Translated by Google) Simple place but the food is very good. As soon as you arrive you will see a blackboard with five or six typical Portuguese dishes to choose from. Inside there is also a small letter. The food is very good and abundant. Ordering one of the dishes is enough to be full but everyone knows their limits. While you wait for your food, they give you some bread and butter to spread. The owners were very friendly and asked if everything was okay.

Always greeted with love and smiles, Beta's food reminds us of our grandmothers' and mothers' cooking when we're away from home. The dishes are excellent and magnificently proportioned, from the francesinha to the delicious and creamy steaks with mushrooms. If you're ever in Miranda do Douro, make sure to give it a try and send us our regards.
