Soul food restaurant
Border Jerk is a rustic eatery located on the Easter border of Hanover and Westmoreland above Ramble. The food choices are typical jerk grill fare, but the taste quality exceeds expectations. While festivals and bread slices are not complimentary with pork or chicken meals, the succulent meal options will surely delight you.
Tremendous Jerk, I was on a long drive down to the South Coast and needed to stop. Our driver and my brother both recommended this place. I was feeling sick from flying all day and this place saved my soul! I felt the strength of a LION after this jerk. The sauces were awesome, bathrooms were clean and drinks were cold!

A must stop whenever I'm on my way to Paradise Ocean View in Black River. Food is amazing flavours authentic and always consistently on point. Menu is basic but that's probably why the food tastes so good. Prices are OK a little on the high side, especially considering no sides comes with the meat order (unless ordered separately). Overall a must try if you're on that side of the island.
Vanessa W — Google review
Food was absolutely delicious. A must stop. I had Jerked chicken with festivals, and it was piping hot when I got the chicken. Staff friendly, food not expensive and it was just lovely
Talese N — Google review
This is a must-have. Jerk chicken is very flavorful. It's cooked to perfection. They also have a bar next door, I had two cups of rum 👊🏽 punch. Restrooms were nice and clean.
Lady B — Google review
The Jerk chicken is amazing. The sauces are also flavorful. All the sauces perfectly combine with the food like a charcuterie board. The soup is amazing also. It has a little kick but is just right. The festival is almost perfectly made. Crispy on the outside but soft and buttery on the inside. Think of the festival as fried chicken. You Have to stop by and try this stop. Would rate this place a 5.5 out of 5. 👍🏻
Beswick C — Google review
Wonderful place on the order of Westmorland and at Hanover..aptly named. Parking is ok...The Environment is friendly, staff encounter was good, and the food was great. The turnaround time between order and delivery was good, better than most jerk spots that I have visited. There is a bar onsite also that serves the regular alcoholic beverages but the it factor for me was having a good selection of natural juices to choose from, that was a plus. If you are in the area I recommend you stop by you won't be disappointed.
Omar W — Google review
OMG the chicken foot soup was amazing.
Jason W — Google review
The food was amazing. The jerk was well prepared and not a very long wait time to be served. There is ample space available to park comfortably. Outside dining, bar and a bathroom is also at the location. The overall service was good and I would visit again

Rest stop
Waterfront Restaurant & Bar is a versatile dining spot with various seating options, including a waterfront area, an upstairs deck, and indoor spaces with AC. It's popular for events and offers affordable yet delicious food like oxtail and jerk chicken. The restaurant also has a diverse drink menu and daily soup specials. Visitors praise the stunning views, making it an ideal place to capture beautiful sunset photos. The friendly staff, such as Latoya, provide excellent service in this idyllic setting.
Do you wanna eat like a local, Mon? Ya wanna get out and feel da breeze in a wonderful atmosphere? Here is my recommendation. Visit the Waterfront. I don't know what cha wan complain bout when ya can be so happy. I'm giggling as I remember the Irie Vibe. So what had happened was... that I met this Jamaican dancehall artist and he actually sang while I waited for ma food. I mean...my food. Afterwards, I just sat and enjoyed the peace. I soaked up the scenery and the wildlife from a far. Oh yeahhhhhh and the food. If it is your thing, you must try the curry goat because it is absolutely awesome. You could also eat some Oxtails because I enjoyed those too. No! I did not eat those all in one setting! I visited multiple times. Look. I'm here to tell you that I don't mind waiting for their good food. My waitress was hospitable. She knew the guhl liked da food. So, you now know to go the distance. It's an adventure. Good eating.
ASpecial T — Google review
The location is nice, you may dine directly on the waterfront. The service stuff is very slow, we had to wait over 20 minutes for the drinks (have to ask a second time if we may get them and one of two drinks came wrong). The other stuff woman watches us all the time very unfriendly when she walkes by. We've waited about an hour for the food (ok, was a whole fish), the ordered festivals came about 5 minutes later than I alredy had my fish. The food was good, but we had better food in other restaurants on the island. The prices are definately too high, the pasta with shrimp (around 8 pieces of shrimp in it) costs 3500 jamaican dollar. We do not recommend this local to other guests, you may find better ones. Just a nice view is not everything.
Gabi S — Google review
Good good good! The best oxtails and my husband loved the jerk chicken so much I bought the sauce. Don’t remember what drink I had but it was good. The first place we ate upon going to the resort. We had oxtails at Usain Bolt’s restaurant and they weren’t the best. They were a little sweet. Just a miss. My friends who got them weren’t impressed either.
Kyla Y — Google review
Had takeout and was in and out in a less than 15 minutes. Curried Goat was super delicious. Lovely atmosphere and view if you want to dine as it is right by the sea.
Sherpets — Google review
The soup was amazing and I am not a soup person. They had very few items available from the menu and the waitress wasn't welcoming. The view is lovely and I was tickled that an ackee and Neem tree were labeled. Grateful for that Neem tree in mosquito bay. 😂
A G — Google review
Amazing breathtaking location that offers an amazing sunset. The most scenic and idyllic atmosphere.Great for taking photos. Sumptuous food with a variety of options. Jerk Chicken and the Brown Stewed Fish are devine. Nice place to chill and have an ice cold beer. Service is great. Excellent staff, ask for Latoya, she's the absolute best.
EPIC A — Google review
I imagine this place would be awesome on a sunny day because the view is lovely. We visited when it rained but it was still nice. They have lots of dining areas; at the bar, on the waterfront, upstairs deck or enclosed in AC. It's a great place to have events as well. The food was great and also affordable. You can consider this a nice stop or just a rest stop if you are travelling past sandy Bay to negril or vice versa. I wasn't fond of the many flies hanging on the lamps over the bar which they need to manage better and the wait time to get serve was lengthy even though I ordered something that the waitress said was already prepared.
Lucille H — Google review
This was a nice place to stop for a bite. It's not fancy and everything is outside but it was peaceful sitting by the water. The jerk chicken and pork were very good. I also had a non-alcoholic blended fruit drink and it was great! I'd go back just for that.

If you're looking for a delightful dining experience, Portofino Restaurant is the place to be. Guests rave about the exceptional food and inviting atmosphere that make every meal memorable. The service is top-notch, with attentive staff like Cedrique and Ashdale ensuring your needs are met with warmth and professionalism. The ambiance is perfect for a relaxed evening, complemented by delicious offerings such as fabulous risotto and a tempting salad bar.
Taj is phenomenal! Excellent service & recommendations! The risotto is fabulous & the ambience is great. Salad bar is yummy with appetizers & a great cesar!
Heather D — Google review
Average - *** This restaurant at grand palladium has a long wait time even if you reserve it. We had to wait 30 minutes after our reserved time. The food is just ok. The appetizer and salad is on buffet and is just fine. Had lasagna and it was not up-to the mark. The tiramisu was also just fine. Overall I would give 3/5
Cyril P — Google review
Didn’t have to wait to long after arriving for our reservation time. All appetizers are self serve at the salad bar. The penne vodka was good, but very bacon forward so if you don’t like bacon, than you shouldn’t get that. The dessert was good, and so was the service. The chicken on the chicken parm that was ordered was good, but the pasta with sauce was not.
Joshua D — Google review
We came here for dinner. Our server Cedrica was amazing. She made us feel welcome and at home. On the other hand, the food sucked. Everything was bland except for a few things. The salad bar was ok. I would not recommend, and would tell you to walk 100 ft down to mobay, where they actually cook good food and great pasta right in front of you. You can get seated there immediately but there is an extensive wait. The decoration was amazing but the chairs were made of plastic and the starter plates were made from steel. They were out of pizza, and out of some soups. It was a missed opportunity. Overall, I would not recommend and would not consider coming back.
Innovative_nerd_kids A — Google review
Ashdale was a great server. He attended to all of our needs. He went above and beyond. Thank you for the great service.

Relaxed dining experience. Wait staff were very pleasant and attentive. Meals were tasty but portions were a bit smaller than expected. Overall good dining experience.
Trevor J — Google review
We have just dined at the portofino. Excellant food, service and atmosphere. You will not be disappointed. Our server cedrique was so welcoming and professional. The manager Britania was also very professional and approachable. We can't thank them enough for a lovely evening.
TRACEY B — Google review
Went there for dinner at 9 PM yesterday. While the place was empty the wait staff offered a table with two tacky plastic chairs. When we asked for a different table put in a corner table. The wait staff was definitely not interested in proceedings at that time...maybe it was time to go home. Pointed to the salad bar for appetizers. The soup was good. Did not offer any drinks and when asked for got a small drip of wine which was awful. No refills offered during the dinner. The pasta and chicken parmigiana were cold and without flavor. Pizza margarita was passable and the only thing I really ate. The server did not offer a dessert menu and said the only thing available is jello, which again was average. Truly bad experience. Not going back.

Aunty’s Restaurant Patty Shop Bar & Grill is a delightful culinary gem nestled along the beautiful beach, offering an inviting atmosphere and exceptional service. Upon arrival, guests are warmly welcomed by Chef Allan, who boasts over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry. The menu features a variety of mouthwatering dishes, including freshly prepared rasta pasta and delectable pork that has garnered rave reviews.
We had such a great evening out at Aunty's. We walked up to the restaurant on the beach and were immediately greeted by the chef and told the dishes available for the day. My boyfriend got a beer and I got water. He ordered the pork and I had the rasta pasta. The pasta is freshly prepared so it there was a little wait but only about 15 minutes. The food was delicious and the service is friendly and excellent. That pork is amazing!! My favorite was the pumpkin rice that comes with each meat dish. The food was so good, we ordered the fried and jerk chicken to go so we could eat it later. I will definitely be going back before I head home to the states and I will be a regular Everytime I'm in town.

As far as all the spots to eat fried chicken on 7mile beach this one is a must! Great food, reasonably priced as well. The coldest red stripes ive had as well. Wednesday's singing chef's fried chicked was top shelf compared to the many great spots throughout Negril. Patties are on point as well . 100% recommended. Update, one year later and still a great spot. Chef Alan will serve you up some excellent dishes. April 13 2024

Guests rave about the warm and attentive service from staff like Kalil and Nicolette, who go out of their way to make everyone feel special. I had dinner at The posideon. I was very impressed with the flavors, service and the consistency in flavors with ny dish. The chef, Mr Shyan Reid, presented himself and asked how was my meal. I gave it 2 thumbs up a raise wine glass and a smile. He was very happy of the expression and kindly said thank you. He was so kind, professional and I can tell he made his dish with his heart. It made me feel like I had a home away from home dish. It was spectacular! I would recommend trying this restaurant. You won't be disappointed!

This hotel is something else, been here three times now over several years and has never failed to hit the mark. The Poseidon is a great restaurant 👌 sited in my happy place, Sunset Cove. The views alone are enough to calm even the most troubled soul. It is truly a beautiful place. The service was great, the bar staff friendly and we had great interactions with. Our waiter has such a lovely way with words. She really made us feel special and welcoming. I wish I had recalled her name now.

This could have been better. The food was just that...food and not necessarily great or bad; mediocre at best. The entire dining experience and presentation comes off as flat in my book. I did have an expectation.l! Pictures speak a thousand words so you be the judge.

The food was amazing and it is set up very beautifully. Very romantic scenery. My husband ordered the curry coconut conch and I ordered the curry coconut lobster. It came with veggies and rice and peas. It paired well with my sorrel red stripe beer. The server was very kind and informative of the menu. They also had a DJ playing throwback reggae. Overall great visit!

Once upon a time this place would have been AMAZING, however it has since went downhill unfortunately. Food was still good and our waitress was lovely. Reasonably priced we had the jerk chicken and the garlic shrimp with veggies. Jerk chicken was $10 US, shrimp was a little more expensive at $23-25 US For a nice sit down in lucea with great views it's an awesome spot would give it a 3.8/5

Reggae Paradise is exactly what the name implies, a paradise. A beautiful hidden gem tucked away in one of the most underrated parishes in Jamaica, Hanover. Nestled on Lucea's coastline, Raggae Paradise is the perfect restaurant to go to when you want to get away and make memories. The seating is ample and thoughtfully placed, giving you enough of the bracing sea breeze to feel refreshed but not cold. The waterfront deck also has a panoramic view of the Lucea harbour which at night becomes accented by the daintily strung twinkle lights. The food is great, well prepared and good value for money. The waitresses are polite, friendly and know how to let families with kids feel welcomed. If I could, I would keep this place a secret but I believe everyone should experience Reggae Paradise.

We arrived around 1pm on a Wednesday , the atmosphere was nice , seated by the water. However the service was very slow, took one hour for 2 orders of fried chicken , 2 oxtail plates and a steam fish. The wait would have been okay if the food was exceptional but the food was very average. The oxtail was tough and not tender. The fried chicken pieces we received didn’t have much meat either…

El Dorado Restaurant offers a delightful dining experience that is sure to impress steak lovers. With a menu featuring succulent lamb and ribeye, it's a must-visit for those craving quality meat. While ordering your steak, consider opting for medium rare to avoid overcooking. The salad bar is plentiful, though the corn could be served warmer. For dessert, the carrot cake paired with cappuccino and Baileys makes for a perfect ending to your meal.
Service was great. They made sure the decorations were set up the way we wanted. Jenoy “General” Fleming was great. He ensured there was no worries at all. “No worry ya self” I won’t forget that

We ate here three times during our we’ll stay. Service was wonderful each time. We had some great servers Dane and Jen Isa were wonderful. The salad bar is amazing and the food portions are huge. You will not go hungry.
Cindy L — Google review
Nicely and tastefully decorated. Our server Dane was very attentive and supportive of our 7 person group. We ordered all the appetizers for the table. The French onion soup was hot but this. Thus, the 4/5 rating.
Shannon M — Google review
I have no idea how this place has an average of 4.7 stars. A steakhouse should know how to cook steak. Clearly, the steak that was delivered to me 90 minutes after I ordered was pre-seared hours before and then thrown on the grill to warm it up before it got to the table cold. When the server came around and I mentioned that it was poorly executed, they asked if they could bring me a new one "at whatever temperature I wanted." Seriously?!?!? I want it cooked medium, like I asked for it. Then they asked my kid if an additional 2 minutes on the grill for their nearly raw burger was good enough. Horrible knowledge and execution of food, and not worthy of the title "steakhouse". Go elsewhere. The buffet was better and even that is mediocre. So disappointing, as the cut of meat (prime rib) had so much promise. The kitchen staff either needs some serious training or a head chef that ensures everything that leaves the kitchen is actually edible. Would never come back, and would never recommend to anyone.
Martina F — Google review
El Dorado was a fun exciting experience, we love steak houses that is why El Dorado was first on our list! We had Lamb and Rib Eye was great! If you want your steak medium We would recommend to order medium rare, they tent to over cook. Salad bar was great, the xorn can be warmer , it felt like it was there for a while. Desert Carrot cake was nice, and cappuchino with bailyes with coffee was great ending of the dinner ! Good Luck Have Fun!
Zakhar S — Google review
Quick and easy process with the hosts upfront of the restaurant. Clean friendly atmosphere. Our server Dane was well informed, courteous, smiling and enjoyed my little quirks. Glad we came out to the El Dorado for dinner tonight. Try it out.

Not overly impressed French onion soup was basically some onions in water with a bit of bread no flavour at all. Caesar salad was sans Caesar sauce as they had ran out. Fillet mingon was a nice cut of steak and well cooked and presented but really need to cut down on the salt it was too over powering.

We came here for dinner. Was expecting traditional Indian food, but was very disappointed. All the food was dry, or not properly made. A lot if menu items were out, and the server messed up our orders multiple times. Would not recommend, and I would recommend you to just skip this restaurant and walk 100 ft to mobay, which makes food fresh, right in front of you. Not worth the visit. Overall, I was disappointed and would probably never come back.

If you're looking for a delightful dining experience in Jamaica, Peppe Monte Cafe & Grill is a must-visit. I stumbled upon this gem during a late-night craving and was immediately welcomed by the friendly staff. The menu boasts an array of authentic Jamaican dishes, including jerk pork, jerk chicken, and BBQ wings that are simply divine. My family and I enjoyed our meal within 20 minutes of ordering—talk about efficiency!
I loved my experience here at Peppe Monte Cafe & Grill, we made a last minute stop there around 8:30pm on Saturday and the waitresses were very welcoming to me and my family👏🏾 We bought a few drinks and my mother ordered ice cream to begin with. Then we ordered some jerk pork, jerk chicken, rice and peas and I ordered bbq wings. Their customer service was wonderful! We ordered our food and it came within 20 mins, it didn’t even like I waited that long. We paid around $6000 - $7000 JMD (£27.87 - £32.52). We decided to take our food back to the hotel to eat it there. When I tried the food, everything was delicious and well seasoned, I tried some of the jerk pork that my mother ordered, the jerk pork was spicy & tender and the BBQ wings were juicy & flavourful! I would definitely love to come back here in the future, 10/10😍❤️ We decided to take our food back to the hotel to eat it there. I agree with a number of people that have written reviews, no price.the food is delicious, especially the fish but pricey for Jamaica. It works out £30 per meal, plus drinks. the wait was one hour, the second time half an hour.(remember they are cooking from fresh)The waitress was friendly.

Seen Peppe's on an episode of #FoodBoss and the food looked amazing. We decided that we're going there when we came to Jamaica for a wedding Sept 2023 and it was the best decision we made. Marvaine and Ashley had the service on lock, they dealt with our group with ease. The vibe was chill and the food was sent from heaven. #FoodBoss described the food at this spot to the tea. Real authentic Jamaican food. So glad we ate there, loved every min of it.

Stopped here on the way to the resort. They had the best oxtails we had the entire trip to Jamaica. Definitely should be a place to stop and grab something to eat if you are ever in Jamaica.

We stopped by for a quick snack en route to Rick’s, which is not what this place is about. The food when it came was very good, the server very friendly and polite. We would return when in the area.

Visited for the first time & the customer service was outstanding! The fish was done to order and Mandela took care of us each step of the way. My only complaint was that the soup was done before I could try it!

La Adelita Restaurant is a hidden gem within the resort, offering an exceptional dining experience that stands out among the options available. Guests rave about the delicious food and refreshing drinks, with highlights including all-you-can-eat fresh shrimp ceviche and a heavenly corn cream soup. The atmosphere is inviting, perfect for enjoying stunning sunset views over the Caribbean Sea. Families will appreciate the diverse menu catering to kids as well as vegetarian, non-vegetarian, and vegan preferences.
We came here and this restaurant is one of the only good places to eat at this resort. The food and drinks were amazing, and the service was good. Our server Reneisha was amazing. The atmosphere was pleasant. I would 110% recommend you come visit this restaurant. They have a lot of kid options, and caters towards vegetarian, non vegetarian and vegan options. If given the chance, I would love to come back and eat here again.

Sitting on an own terrace viewing the sunset over the Caribbean Sea is enough. But the add all you can eat fresh shrimp ceviche or the best corn cream soup I’ve ever had. Tastes like heaven. Come on! How does life get better? Steak fajitas with a Caribbean blended margarita. That’s how. Thank you Reneisha!!! Your service was fabulous.

The food was sub par. My least favorite on the resort and I felt so nauseated after eating here. I woke up in the middle of the night and threw up. I felt terrible the whole next day. I'm convinced it was their appetizer bar and our server was very slow as well. I do not recommend going there. Luckily my partner didn't get sick but she didn't eat anything from the bar.

Akeelia was our server and an absolute joy. The food was exceptional, and the service even better. The chipotle shrimp were delicious. Go check it out at Grand Palladium!!

Came to the restaurant one night with some family during my stay at the Paladium. We were served by a gentleman named Anthony who was very welcoming, informative and attentive. I’m not a fan of mexican food much but the beef filet was very enjoyable. All over a good experience. :)

We arrived early by mistake, but the staff were able to seat is anyway, rather than making us wait. Our server Rushell was friendly and helpful.

If you're looking for some more authentic Jamaican flavored dishes this is the restaurant to visit. Most resorts including this one have your typical Italian, Asian, and Latin restaurants but if you're in Jamaica why not try some authentic Jamaician inspired dishes while you're here. We thoroughly enjoyed every plate and would definitely recommend it.

Worst experience at the resort. The food was subpar and the servers were incompetent. They didn’t know anything about the items on the menu. The curry goat was not good (which was disappointing) and the fish soup is literally broth which isn’t what it says on the menu. When it was time to order dessert I specifically told the waitress to make sure there was no berry on the cheesecake (the menu didn’t say there would be berry but I know many restaurants garnish desserts with berries so I always mention). After having a lengthy conversation with her because for some reason she couldn’t quite understand what I was saying she agreed and put the order in. Guess what came on my cheesecake? Berries! I was so upset. I can’t believe I specifically asked for something NOT to be on my dessert and it was not on the menu and then it shows up on my plate. I immediately asked for the manager and thankfully the manager Michael was very competent and apologized for the subpar service and incompetent waitress. Overall bad experience and gross food!
