Wallander Independencia is an admirable establishment that combines a reputable bakery with delectable Mexican confections, offering customers a wide range of options at affordable prices. Moreover, this remarkable eatery provides the convenience of a parking lot for patrons. Notably, it also features an exquisite selection of locally crafted cheeses and breads, accompanied by a cozy restaurant area where visitors can relish their meals.
Liked eating here so much we came back the next day. 😉 Their tortas are delicious and filling. As much as we enjoy traditional Mexican food, we were craving salads and that's why we chose to eat here. The salads were also delicious and filling and looked and tasted fresh. The staff here is very friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed. A warning: if you are looking for fast food, go elsewhere. But if you want a nice opportunity to hang out with each other while enjoying the cafe's environment, then definitely stop by here! Wallander's also carries artisan, regional, and imported goods like wine, embroidered napkins, mugs, and, of course, mezcal. 😁

Stunning interior, amazing food, beautiful terrace/patio. Service is lovely. An old family owned business, all food is freshly made. Amazing milk &cheese selections which are all organic and delicious. The panaderia is delicious
Amira A — Google review
A great location, with a great atmosphere but sadly the service was very slow and bad. I had to remind the waiter several times to bring me my desert and yogurt. Other than that is great.

Dad and I have never experienced anything like this restaurant. Food was great, atmosphere mesmerizing and Saul, our waiter was the best! He gave us a tour of the place which meanders from room to room. Wine cellar, main dining room, bar, balcony, upstairs event space... enchanting!

Wonderful atmosphere and delicious food. The service is friendly and professional, but not quick. So if you are in a hurry don't eat here; make sure you give yourself plenty of time to enjoy the food and atmosphere. The wait staff is also attentive.

Great food and service. 100% . If you visit Durango, you must go. Pork with chile rojo is sooo good
Jose G — Google review
A traditional Durango regional restaurant. They don't have an English menu and the servers can not communicate in English. The menu does not have helpful photos either. The portions are small and the service is not that great. Foods are moderately priced but it was not a great experience all around.
Sina K — Google review
Food amazing. Caldillo duranguense is a must. However, the food service is slow, although very attentive. This is a place to go.
Roberto C — Google review
Wonderful food and service. They knew right away I didn’t speak Spanish and hauled Daniela from the bar to serve me. She was awesome! I had Caldillo Durangueno, typical local dish. Highly recommended!
Steven B — Google review
In my view, the atention isgood and fast, if you wantt to see while cooking is possible. The bathrooms is clean. For me the food is is delicious, I ate the tostadas of chicken and lemon water., later I drink the coffee capuchino too. The restaurant is well located. So, yes I return.
Maria M — Google review
Ate here more than once during our stay. Excellent food, reasonable prices, ample portions, attentive staff. This is a LOCAL diner; no English, regular Mexican and regional fare. Highly recommend if you want real Mexican food and are comfortable communicating in Spanish. Service may or may not be super-speedy, depending on time of day and number of guests, but it's a nice place to sit and chat and worth the wait.
Scott F — Google review

Excellent restaurant! They serve excellent fusion foods and very interesting drinks. Service is very polite and professional. Foods are reasonably priced. The restaurant is few steps away from the Victoria Express Hotel. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. Amazing experience!
Sina K — Google review
The atmosphere is tranquil with the live turtles giving the place a tropical ambiance enhancement. The pricing is reasonable. I ordered the shrimp and chicken pasta and it was tasty. The place is clean and the designs are well put together. I was very dissapointed with the service and an how they handled a returned drink. When our party walked in the host was good she greated and gave us the option to select the section of our preferred sitting area. We quickly noticed that our assigned waiter had frown or her facial expression of discomfort as she assisted us. I returned a drink and they refused to remove it from my bill. At the end of the day it's not about the price it's about service.
Joyce O — Google review
Reasonable price for great food and service. We stayed longer after we finished dining, and the staff was not rushing us at all.

Restaurante Gorditas Gabino offers a delectable and extensive variety of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. The cuisine is exceptionally flavorsome and made from high-quality ingredients. The menu allows for substitutions to accommodate individual preferences, such as reducing spice levels.
Very nice restaurant. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. Not the first time I have been here. The gorditas are always a good choice. I had the Mole Dulce and it was great. Will be back again when I am in town.
Kenneth S — Google review
I had to try Durango's famous gorditas before I left, so I stopped in here around 5pm on a weekday. The service is pretty quick and the dining room was filled, so you know its a great place to eat. I ordered three gorditas; chicken & cheese, chile relleño & chicharron. You could eat the first two with your hands but the chicharron was almost soupy and falls apart, so you need a fork/knife. They're pretty delicious and also come with a great verde salsa on the side. I'd recommend this place if you're looking to try them.
J — Google review

Restaurante La Victoria is a traditional hacienda-style restaurant that offers international cuisine. The establishment has tall ceilings, creating a spacious and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant is known for its clean environment and satisfactory service. While the food may not be exceptional, it offers a fair quality-price ratio. One standout dish is the sauce served with chips, which is truly outstanding. This affordable restaurant also caters well to large groups and serves generous portions of delicious food.
Lovely building, great food and great service . We really enjoyed it .
Adele H — Google review
Restaurante La Victoria is great for a large group of people. A small mariachi trio entertains and adds to the already relaxed atmosphere. The staff was attentive, but super busy. Prices are fair and the place was clean. As for the food, it was good, but lacked depth or finesse. For instance, the mango salmon did not have actual mango on it, but instead, the salmon had a thick layer of what tasted like mango jelly. Everything sat on top of a mound of plain steamed vegetables, accompanied with a half of a bolillo and rice. Again, it didn't taste bad, but the presentation seemed lazy. I'd recommend any of the soups. They were flavorful and came with a side of rice.
L C — Google review

(Translated by Google) A 3 star place that looks like a 5… I'm taking one star off because I feel like it lacks more service, we arrived and no one attended to us, I had to go to the cashier after several minutes to ask if they would take my order but it turns out that it is ordered at the cashier... I'm taking off another star because the climate dripped a lot, it splashed all over the chair and was very uncomfortable, we had to ask them to turn it off until another table was free and we moved to it. The cafes were delicious, as for desserts I would have liked them to sell crepes, that would have added a star to my taste.

(Translated by Google) Part of the bad experience at this place is due to the young employees who lack customer service skills. On one occasion, I ordered an Americano with milk, and the guy told me, "The Americano doesn't have milk." Another bad thing is that the internet is very slow. If you're going there, I recommend Googling what you're going to order before going up to the bar and having a bad time. The menu is very limited; the Italian sodas aren't worth it; they taste very diluted. The place is nice and cozy, but all of this is overshadowed by the poor service from the snobby kids who run the place.

Very good restaurant. Went for Sunday Brunch. Very good selection of traditional Mexican food, fruit, and eggs to order. All food was good, and it was replaced frequently. I recommend this place for a nice upscale brunch. Service was impeccable, with the wait staff being attentive.

(Translated by Google) This place is excellent for a formal breakfast, lunch or dinner, business or nice with your date haha. Especially if you want to look good, the place is very very nice, the bathrooms are very clean and the customer service is great. The quality-price ratio speaking of the dishes could improve, but for less than $200 you can have a delicious coffee, fruit, juice and protein for breakfast. (Translated by Google) The place is very beautiful, however its strong point is the events and not so much the customer service in the restaurant. We were the only diners and the waiters - although friendly - because they were preparing everything for an event they were having, they forgot to bring the tortillas even though we ordered them 3 times, the coffee was cold, they didn't have some items on the menu even though it was Saturday morning. We ordered a dish that had egg and a nopal and they brought us something else, the pancakes were chunky, too "rustic/artisanal" the egg was good, juices good, sandwich good. The tablecloths were dirty and at the back of where they sat us they had many decorative elements that they use to decorate events and it looked like a hoarder's garage, it looked bad. I would definitely choose this place for a social event, not for breakfast or lunch.

(Translated by Google) They take a long, long time to serve, the menu is not very extensive or complex, they still take a long time to serve the food, there are few tables and a lot of staff for the place, but only one waitress… It is hot in the summer season, quite hot, and since the kitchen is connected to the table area, the temperature increases. They only have two ceiling fans and they can't cope, nor do you feel like they are on. The waitress is not the most friendly. The food is good, cheap, but you don't end up enjoying the chaos that comes with waiting and seeing the dissatisfaction of the diners.

Celit Coffee is a charming and cozy spot that’s perfect for enjoying a delightful chat with friends or loved ones. While the drink menu impresses with its variety, some visitors feel it could benefit from more food options. The standout feature here is the ability to print fun images on foamy coffee, adding an element of whimsy to your experience. Alongside delicious coffees, you can also indulge in refreshing natural juices and tasty breakfast items.

loss of 1 star due to the ridiculous difficulty in finding parking. It would be almost comical if it weren't so sad and frustrating. There are no signs (that I could see) directing you to a parking from the street. Secondly, once you do go in and realize the parking is in the basement of the structure after asking several people, you realize there is a nightmarish labyrinth of pathways to take, none that are labeled clearly. We were lost in for at least 15 minutes going in circles.
Gino N — Google review
After planning and calling couple days ahead of time for me my family and dog to stay there, we were not accepted, after driving for more than 24 hours, once we got there we got denied to enter because of our little dog, the guard at the basement made some calls and supervision stated that the dog had to stay by the parking lot shack, I didn’t have the experience to stay but the system needs to change because they blame each other and don’t give you an explanation, they didn’t even say sorry nor a thanks for stopping by, if you have a pet and planning to stay at this place make sure you have a second or third hotel in mind because it will happen to you!!!
Victor L — Google review
Did not stay, so I can’t say anything about the place. But I did called to check if they accepted dogs, Cinthia the receptionist answered and say yes, just as long as I had her shoot records, got there and for my surprise they did not allowed my precious baby girl chloe in. And try to fix the problem by telling me to leave my chloe with the security guard, I can say with no problem that I just hate what happen to me here, and hope all those who love their baby dogs would understand why I hate this place.

Horrible service room needs key inserted for the electricity to work which is no good if they only give you one key and thiers more then one person. ANOTHER MAYOR THING IS THAT THE AC IS PROGRAMED TO 24 DEGREES CELSIUS WHICH IS LIKE 78 80 DEGREES F° it wont let you change it. the water on the shower runs super low the cleanliness was not good we decided not to eat the complementary breakfast. IT was my first time trying this hotel never again will i return!!!!

It was very pretty but a little cramped. There were plants and flowers everywhere, tables without much room between. I ordered a cortado and a pan de plátano. I had a bit of difficulty ordering, as Google Translate had gotten some words wrong, but the employee was very kind about it. The coffee was good, nice and strong, but the bread did not taste of plantains at all. It was warm and sweet, though. I sat outside, a lovely place to watch people. I enjoyed the bright marigolds and other flowers. The Wi-Fi was great. It was good to slow down and enjoy a coffee. I asked about using the restroom before leaving--the room is small like a closet, and had only one napkin for toilet paper. The sink is outside the closet and had only one napkin for paper towels. I know it's a small space. I would encourage customers to use the restroom elsewhere if they can.
