Fábrica La Rojeña, located in the town of Tequila just 40 miles northwest of Guadalajara, is Latin America's oldest distillery dating back to 1798. It is owned by Jose Cuervo, Mexico's largest tequila maker. The distillery offers guided tours that provide insight into the process of making tequila. Visitors can witness the operations and learn about the production firsthand.
Fábrica La Rojeña in Tequila is an absolute must-visit if you're exploring the town! This is the birthplace of José Cuervo, and the tour is both informative and fun. The guide was fantastic, walking us through every step of the tequila-making process with clarity (thankfully, they had mics and speakers to make it easy to follow even in the louder areas). The highlight for me was the tasting at the end—splurging on the tasting package is totally worth it. I had no idea tequila could have so much depth and flavor! The ambiance is lively and authentic, and the whole experience feels like a deep dive into Mexican culture. There’s no pressure to buy, but the exclusive tequilas at factory prices are tempting. Whether you’re a tequila fan or just curious, this is one of those tours you shouldn’t skip. Just show up, and they’ll take care of the rest. Cheers to an unforgettable experience!
Zeno C — Google review
A truly beautiful tequila distillery nestled in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage site of Tequila. The tour we joined was incredibly informative, offering a clear understanding of the tequila distilling process, and we got to taste a variety of tequilas, which was a fantastic highlight.
Seth M — Google review
We spent 4 hours at the Jose Cuervo distillery learning all about the distilling process, tasting different tequilas, learning how to drink tequila, blending our own tequila and, finally, lunch. Alfredo, our guide, also took us through Jose Cuervo's and tequila's history as well as the controls around the whole agave and tequila production process. A really good tour.

Brilliant! 100% don't miss!! So many sites on the internet say this place is only open certain days. If the review you read is more than 5 minutes old l, forget it. This town is evolving and distilleries like this are pretty much open everyday. Just show up and ask for a tour. I have been to Mexico about 20 times and my favorite thing is to visit small unique towns. Tequila is an incredible place if you want authentic Mexican culture, food, kind people, and good vibes. But this town has one extra thing, tequila!!! La Rojeña is where the José Cuervo magic happens. The tour is completely informative, explaining the tequila making process in detail, and at the end (if you pay the extra pesos for the tasting package, a MUST in my opinion) you get a view into tequila flavors and nuance that I never knew existed! Trust me, stop reading this review and just go there! The tasting at the end is amazing! It was absolutely brilliant! Our guide (sorry, can't remember her name) was perfect. At each stop, though the factory is loud, she had a mic connected to Bose speakers so you could hear every word (I did the English speaking tour). At the end you can buy special made tequilas at factory prices. Absolutely no pressure to buy, but a good deal all the same! I am fairly cynical when it comes to touristy things, this is a 100% don't miss!!!

Fun and informative tours! We did the classic plus the extra tasting. Our guide spoke great English, was incredibly knowledgeable, and fun to spend an hour with. You get to see quite a bit of the factory and drink 3 strong shots before even starting the tasting so be prepared to consume a good amount of tequila. Would recommend to a friend.
Kent S — Google review
If you enjoy drinking low-quality, industrial tequila loaded with artificial additives, then this is the place for you! Otherwise, I strongly recommend visiting La Fortaleza, Cascahuín, or Casa Atanasio, just a few of the family-owned distilleries that still honor the true tradition of tequila making.
Diego H — Google review
From the video at the beginning of the tour to the tasting at the end this experience was well worth the 400+ pesos we spent. Our guide was amazing! The tequila was palate changing. Would go again in a heart beat.

We were drawn in by the huge bird sculpture in the courtyard, but stayed for the excellent tour and tasting. Don't miss the Tradicional Añejo ... They only sell it here!

The National Museum of Tequila is a small but fascinating museum dedicated to the history and production of tequila, the iconic beverage named after the town. Visitors can explore the traditional methods used to produce tequila by embarking on guided tours at numerous distilleries in the area. From historic haciendas like Jose Cuervo and Herradura to boutique distilleries such as Casa Noble and Tequila Ocho, there are plenty of opportunities to learn about and taste different types of tequilas.
Fun little museum that walks you through the history of tequila, as well as the distilling process. Located about half a block fron the historic center, it is well worth the time. Plan 30 minutes to one hour depending on your interest. In the rear of the museum they also display the work of local artists. Entrance is 20 pesos for adults, and 10 pesos per child. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.

Cool spot for tourists to go and visit… If you’re going to Guadalajara, it is definitely a location. You should check out.
Kris M — Google review
Superb little museum, if it's your first time to Tequila. Charting both the history of the Tequila as a drink and a region, the rooms surrounding its central courtyard walk the visitor through the journey from Agave to Añejo. Despite this being a small venue, there's quite a lot of information here, accompanied by a multitude of exhibits, so setting aside an hour to an hour and a half to tour the museum, would be a good idea.
Sasch M — Google review
This place is very touristy. Lots of people at the heart of the town called Tequila.
Manny S — Google review
This was a highlight for us. Great history, information and art. We went in the middle of the day on a holiday and it was pretty quiet. Definitely worth the small entrance fee to wander through.
Casey K — Google review
There is a lot of great information about the town, drink, and culture of Tequila. They had artwork as well as old bottles, tools, and distillery equipment. Definitely recommend stopping by while in town. It only takes about 45-60 minutes to walk through the museum.
Dave P — Google review
I think the experience was ok. It would be better if the tour groups were split more evenly and you didn't have groups of 25+ with one guide. Hard to hear the guide at times. The tequila tasting was good and have a experience on how to drink tequila properly was fun.

Waterfalls
Cascada Los Azules Tequila is a hidden gem located less than two miles from the main plaza in Tequila, Jalisco. The area offers a rugged trail that leads to multiple cascades set in a dense forest, with a pool popular for swimming at the base of the waterfall. Visitors can also enjoy distillery tours and other activities such as horseback riding in the agave fields.
A beautiful reward after a steep hike downhill. A real ecosystem around the cascade. Too bad for the trash all over the trail.
Aurélie V — Google review
The views and waterfalls are great, yet the path taking you there is pretty dangerous and confusing. In top of that, we had a random Mexican guy approach us and come with us down to the waterfall. Once we came back up, one of his friends was waiting on top with a couple dogs until we paid them $100/pers. This was a very dangerous experience.
Robbe C — Google review
Beautiful hidden place! Be prepared for a hike though. I recommend you bring mosquito repellent, sunscreen, water and if you’re up for a swim then a bathing suit! It’s like a 20min hike down and be careful it can get slippery! It can get pretty steep, since you pretty much are going down a canyon but the view is beautiful!
Jenifer P — Google review
Great little waterfall with great cold water perfect for the heat. It’s about a 20 minute hike, it will get steep. Preferably no kids or older or handicapped people.
Jesus G — Google review
What a beautiful place. It's exactly what anyone needs when looking for relaxation away from the daily routine. The waterfall is breathtaking. Taking a dip and just feeling mother natures beauty take you in is quite an experience. If you have the time, the hike down is totally worth it. Make sure to bring the correct attire for the hike down and a bathing suit if you wanna take a dip in the water. It is quite a steep hike downwards so make sure to go with someone who knows their way. Completely worth it. Beautiful place.
Omar R — Google review
It's not 15min to go down, so we kept asking how long was the hike and everyone kept saying 15min will It's not at least if it's your first time strongly recommend to carry lots of water some Gatorade and food other then that it's a beautiful place to go and relax

So awesome!! Welcome to my State of Jalisco I advise youwear proper hiking boots.. and plenty of water and backpacks..Summer time is better if u want to swim .I went im december and still went in no matter what. You will b tired once ur home thou.. feliz viaje
Yesenia L — Google review
Beautiful hike to the waterfall passing by banana trees and mango trees. The hike is a bit strenuous and steep, and I did get lost a few times because the trail is not marked at all. But if you follow the sound of the waterfall you should be able to find it. It shouldn't take more than 30 mins to reach the waterfall unless you get REALLY lost. The water looked like it had some algae growing in it so I did not go swimming but I did dip my feet in and it was very cool and refreshing. Highly recommend to visit.

Casa Sauza, also known as Quinta Sauza, is one of the oldest tequila houses located in the tequila valley in Jalisco. They offer three different versions of their large-scale tour, each including a mix-your-own Cantarito. The higher tiers allow visitors to plant their own agave and take home a souvenir bottle. Additionally, they have more than 20 brands in their portfolio that are exported to over 73 countries worldwide.
Went to Sauza distillery for my birthday. Absolutely amazing experience... After the tour, we were led back to Casa Sauza for some drinks. I'll never forget it. Thank you!

We had a tequila tour in English and there was only another couple with us so it was quite a private tour. We visited the guava field and watched how the plants get harvested. We visited the distillery and had some tequila shots. It was a good tour but for my taste the tour guide could have explained a little bit more or could have taken more care about us. During the drive to the field and back she didn’t talk to us at all and didn’t try to entertain us or give us some information about tequila. That’s why I only give 4 stars.

Beautiful old hacienda close to centre of the town of Tequila. Good off street parking across the road . Nice quiet gardens with the sound of Mexican music pumping into the serenity !
Nim J — Google review
We discovered Casa Sauza by accident, and it was a fantastic experience. The grounds and garden are immaculate, and the ambiance is peaceful and serene. We felt and were treated like royalty by the staff, and the food and drinks were amazing. We started with house made salsa and chips, and I ordered a Sauza margarita rimmed with Tajin. Next, we ordered a tuna tartare dish and a wrapped tuna dish that touched every sensory signal on our taste buds. Lord willing, I will be back very soon. The next time, I will plan on spending two full days in this Pueblo Magico. I feel like we just touched the surface of this town, and there are many memories left to be made!

I was in Tequila, so I had to check this place out! My significant other and I walked here in anticipation for some tequila history! We walked past the entrance and the view made me instantly feel as if I was in a garden. It was quiet and calm. After that area, we ended up at Los Recuerdos De Sauza. We purchased the Perseverancia tour. The tour guide walked us to La Constancia for the first part of the tour. Once we arrived, we had to put on a helmet to enter the building. That was interesting. It was basically a large barrel room. We were told about the process and then given a sample of Sauza Blue Agave Hacienda Tequila Gold. I thought it was smooth and easy to handle. After we left, we headed not too far to “La Perseverancia”. This was where a lot of moving parts took place. It was interesting to absorb what went on here. We were given a sample of Sauza Blue Agave Hacienda Tequila Silver. This one brought some heat! It was strong, but casual and tasty. Our last thing to do was to make our own Cantarito. This was an exciting experience, especially since I’ve only had one Cantarito ever prior to this experience. The process was fun! The drink ended up being pretty good. I got to keep the cup, so that practically worked out as a souvenir for me! The tour guide was amazing and friendly! She explained everything thoroughly during the tour. Overall, this place was worth the stop for me. I enjoyed how things seemed to be spread out widely and that we had to walk a lot. I would love to come back here someday. Date of visit: 10/01/2024
Chaddy A — Google review
We had the pleasure of going on their English tour. A lovely woman who taught us a bunch of the things about the making of tequila. I recommend this place! Make sure to grab a bottle or two after the tour, their tequila is great.

We had our lunch and I must say it is a beautiful place. You could take a stroll in their beautiful garden while your food comes. We did not do their tour but the experience in the restaurant was good . Service was slightly slow given that we had a time crunch for our tour.

The Plaza Principal Tequila is a must-visit when in the town of Tequila. The cobblestone streets and main square around the 17th-century church offer a quintessential Mexican experience. This area is home to iconic attractions such as the Tequila letters, a picturesque kiosk, and the mesmerizing Voladores de Papantla performance. These flying dancers spin around a tall wooden pole attached by their ankles, showcasing an ancient ritual that originated in Puebla.
Beautiful small town, clean, historic buildings a real step back in time. Brightly colored buildings, manicured trees and fauna. Visiting the Tequila distillerys is definitely worth a visit.
James C — Google review
We had so much fun walking around tequila. We bought three bottles of special tequila only made here with no additives. Then we went to Cantaritos El Guero and bought way too much tequila. Had a blast. Downtown Tequila feels like a more exciting San Miguel De Allende. Loved it. We will be back.

The Plaza Principal aka Main Plaza in the town of Tequila , Jalisco is such a lively place to hang out in. There are several stores, outside bars, restaurants, hotels & people enjoying the day and night. It is a great meeting place where people watching is key. They have performances to enjoy as well. What a great place to visit and enjoy tequila and the town. During the month of April they host an annual Tequila festival. Sounds like a great time.

On a family trip and did a tour with an operator for 300 pesos per person that took roughly 2 hours, went in a barrel on a drive along historic sites in the center and to a small agave farm and distillery tour. Then did the center walking around and the best thing was watching the locals do an Aztec dance where they throw themselves off the pole. It's a must when in the center.

Parroquia Santiago Apostol is a stunning baroque church located in the central plaza, featuring a single nave structure built with reddish-brown volcanic stone sourced from a nearby volcano. The 17th-century building boasts elegant stained-glass windows and houses the remains of Santo Toribio Romo Gonzalez, the patron saint of immigrants. The church exudes character with its imperfections adding to its charm.
There is a sweet scent in the air. It was Friday night and there was a mass taking place. There was a woman who was leading the worship. It appeared to me that most everyone present was a local. The building itself is beautiful , it does have much character and some of the imperfections give it much of its patina. The remains of Santo Toribio Romo Gonzalez the patron saint of immigrants are kept there. Outside the church are vendors and lovers and families. Food is delicious.

This is in the downtown of Tequila Jalisco... There are two prominent catholic churches next to each other. The downtown is dominated by the small stall selling survivors, local food and toys...

The Station Tequilas & More, also known as La Estacion Tequilas & Mas, is a popular destination in Tequila with several stores around the area. They offer over 50 varieties of tequila and unique souvenirs for visitors to take home. While some caution against purchasing liquor here due to higher prices and potential dilution, others recommend it for the best prices and selection of tequila.

They have some very neat souvenirs, although; they do sell it twice to triple the price because it's right out of town. I do not recommend to buy liquor here yes it may be cheaper but it is watered down after I did some tastings it really upset my tummy I had to make sure it was the good stuff but it wasn't just purchase straight from the brewery or licenced vendors.

The grand entrance to Mundo Cuervo's Hotel Solar de las Animas sets the tone for a captivating and historically rich experience. Despite its recent construction, the hotel exudes an old-world charm that seamlessly integrates into the surrounding community. In this Magic Town, visitors can explore enchanting streets and discover both traditional and contemporary tequila houses such as the iconic Mundo Cuervo.
My significant other and I walked through the entrance to this exciting place! It was stunning from start to finish. We walked in the Recepción Venta De Boletos and ended up purchasing the Experiencia Clásica for the tour of La Rojeña. The Precio / Price was $315MXN for each person. It wasn’t too bad and I figured this would be the best place to do my first tequila tour. We still had a bit of time until the tour, so we walked around to enjoy the view of everything around us. It was pleasant to see each detail that was made and to me it seemed almost everything was ancient, but kept up with. The tour started by us sitting down to watch the history of the company on a large screen. It was in Spanish, but it had English subtitles. It was maybe around 15 minutes and gave a good background of their company. When it was over, our tour guide greeted us to continue our experience. He took us through the entrance to La Rojeña. We were shown tequila in the Ordinario, also known as Ordinary form. We weren’t able to taste it, but we were able to smell it. It was strong! The bottle that was near that one was the Blanco, also known as White. This tequila was the Tradicional Plata. We were able to taste this one. It had a nice warmth to it. It was good quality in my opinion. Not long after, we approached a barrel area. We got to try the 6 Meses, 12 Meses, and 18 Meses forms of tequila. The 6 Meses was the Tradicional Reposado. The 12 Meses and 18 Meses were both the Tradicional Añejo. I enjoyed all of them in a different way. Our tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. He explained everything tremendously. After the tour was finished, we went to Bar Margaritas. This place was small and cozy! I went to the bar to check out the menu and order. I ordered a Cantarito con tequila, also known as “Cantarito” with tequila for $150.00 and a Margarita Perfecta for $145.00. The Cantarito was an interesting drink! I enjoyed it and I even got to keep the cup! The Margarita Perfecta was amazing! I had to sit down and relax to take down these drinks. I ended up getting one more drink. I chose the Margarita Pasión for $145.00. This thing was great. Just when I thought things couldn’t get better, I was shown that they could! The bartender brought me a dish filled with spicy nuts. They were very tasty alongside my drinks. She was friendly and amazing at her job. Every drink I had was worth the price it was and I enjoyed everything here! Overall, this place was an excellent experience! I would definitely visit again in the future! Date of visit: 10/ENE/2024

Mexican restaurant
La Antigua Casona is a restaurant located in front of the main square, just steps away from the Central Kiosk. The decor has a baroque style and it offers traditional Mexican dishes. The warmth of the restaurant comes from its decoration and the aromas emanating from its kitchen. They serve typical regional dishes for breakfast buffet. Additionally, it features an upscale cocktail bar and is considered one of the best gourmet spots in town.
Hey there, this is GeniePam 🧞‍♀️ visiting from Dubai 🇦🇪 originally from 🇲🇽 with my partner in crime from 🇩🇪 Their weekend buffet is simply delicious, it has everything you crave for a perfect breakfast! The place is adorable and cozy, making it a great spot not just for breakfast, but also for lunch and dinner. And of course, pairing it with a Cantarito makes the experience even better. A lovely restaurant with attentive, if somewhat over eager at times. The food did not match the expectation on our visit. The crab tacos were bland, the chicken breast with mole was so overcooked you could hardly cut it. The meat in juices (stew) was way too salty. Overall quite disappointing. Maybe we just chose badly since the cheese with tomatillo sauce appetiser was delicious. Not overly expensive, £40 for starters, mains and a couple of beers. Waiting staff tended to remove plates, or try to, before we'd finished, which seemed odd as the place was virtually empty. Can't really recommend but passable if your hungry.
Krishna M — Google review
The place is very calm and beautiful, they have air conditioning which complements well after a walk on the streets of Tequila on a sunny day. we ordered puntas de arrachera, puntas de pollo and tortas ahogadas. i felt that the price to taste for puntas de arrachera and puntas de pollo wasn't justifiable. The taste wasn't bad but was neither extremely outstanding or any different from nay normal restaurant. Tortas ahogadas tasted too tomatoey ans it wasn't that good at all, I would not order it again. something that really bothered me was how the waiters would occasionally come and peek at your table to check if anything was needed and that felt a little intrusive. It wasn't that busy and we could easily call someone if we needed something. The place is a bit pricey and the taste not that outstanding, hence the rating. But I did like the ambience a lot.
Ipsita M — Google review
Posh dining area. Light air conditioning. Jumbo shrimps are very good, sauce slightly spicy and tangy. Tenderloin not as good, overcooked. Chicken breast too dry. Service is good, but will ask to tip for other staff/buddy as well who are supposed to be serving other tables.

Alejandro is a super sweet, caring and excellent waiter. Food was good. I loved the homemade bread and the cocktails. A bit pricy but beautiful location and surrounding. Thank you Alejandro 🥰

Food is presented very beautifully. Although I would say that it’s pretty mid. Typical Mexican dishes, average taste. Wonderful atmosphere, waiters, attentive. I saw another post saying that the waiters were too attentive. I feel like it has to be with. Me Jikan culture, because really any restaurants you walk into. They’re very attentive. Overall would come back. Maybe try something different.

I had very high expectations for this place. It’s supposed to be the finest dining experience in the town of Tequila and the menu and the decor are excellent. The service was also supposedly good but after two times of my friend asking for his tacos without onions they kept bringing out the plate and he opened the tacos and there were onions. He was so frustrated he couldn’t even eat anything. They brought a bread to the table mid way through the meal and it had a hair on it. We sent it back. The good part: I had a good and generous portion of seafood pasta and the guacamole was good but also came with onions inside and the manager only offered a dessert. We refused it and i didn’t leave a tip and we left upset and unsatisfied. The management should be a lot more present. They were absent.

TACOS PELLISCADAS AND QUESADILLAS BOTI La Capilla is a historic drinking spot in Tequila, Jalisco with a rich legacy. Known as La Capilla or the chapel, it has earned its name from the sight of patrons dropping to their knees after indulging in tequila. The bar is famous for its signature cocktail, the Batanga, a mix of tequila, lime and coke served in a salt-rimmed glass.
One of the best experiences in Tequila. I was there Oct 2022 with no problems. Only great memories. Its super authentic, relaxing and like stepping back in time. If you want neon and flash, go to Vegas instead.

The oldest bar in tequila known for their famous batanga drink, highly recommend to check out in tequila just for the drink itself and I'm sure you will stay there for the atmosphere.

This historic spot has no sign and is never empty. The original owner has passed and the place is dirty owners don’t seem to care that much. But… always a but! They treated us kindly, the drinks are delicious. Make sure to order the Batanga. It’s what is in the picture

Visitors praise the informative and personal guided tours, particularly highlighting the knowledge and passion of the guides. The museum features six galleries showcasing Mexican culture, history, traditions, and art including abstract art, crafts like coaches and clothes.
Thought we would beat the heat by taking a little museum break, and we are so glad we did! The best part was Abraham! When we entered we were told only self guided tours were available, however as soon as we entered the first show room Abraham came to introduce himself and give us some pointers. From then forward he stuck with us, giving us a fantastic informative tour! His English was fantastic and he was so full of knowledgeable information not just about the museum and its exhibits but also the local area! Would highly recommend a look through, and look for Abraham!!!

My experience at the entire José Cuervo complex revealed the greed and arrogance with which this brand is managed. A sparse and uninspired museum where, on top of that, they have the audacity to charge you. The employees seem depressed, which I assume reflects the miserable corporate culture of this brand.

The town is famous for producing the renowned Mexican spirit, and tourists can explore several distilleries. A popular activity is taking a ride through the blue agave fields on the Jose Cuervo train. Additionally, visitors have the opportunity to spend a night in their own tequila barrel and indulge in delightful drink samples.

🥃✨ A Spirited Journey in Tequila, Jalisco! ✨🥃 We had an amazing time touring the José Cuervo Tequila Distillery in the charming town of Tequila, Mexico. The guided tour was informative and fun, taking us through the rich history of Mexico’s most iconic spirit. 🌵 Tasting the cooked agave was a unique experience — sweet, earthy, and surprisingly delicious! And of course, sampling the tequila straight from the source was the highlight. Smooth, flavorful, and full of tradition. 🍹🇲🇽 Highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting the region. It’s not just a distillery — it’s a deep dive into Mexican culture and craftsmanship.

When visiting the town of Tequila , Jalisco you have to stop by and visit Jose Cuervo. They have several different options as far as tastings and tours. We had the privilege of having the private tasting and then had the opportunity to go into one of the cellars for a real special tasting. They offer a very informative video showing the history of Jose Cuervo and the town of Tequila. They also have a museum and hotel there. We definitely plan on staying there on the next trip. Jose Cuervo is conveniently located right next to main plaza. Make sure you make this one of your stops in this beautiful town of Tequila.

If you have never been to a distillery tour you should go. Otherwise, the one at Fortaleza was better. Jose Cuervo is so industrial that you should watch every step for your safety and it's so loud that some of the tour guide's speech isn't heard. For samples they use little plastic cups unlike the glasses used in the other, smaller place. I also didn't care for the tequila which is certainly only a preference item.

Tequila Tequila, Mexico is known for its artesian distilleries, where the famous spirit of tequila is produced. Tequila is a type of distilled alcoholic beverage made from the blue agave plant, which is native to Mexico. The artesian distilleries in Tequila are characterized by their traditional and time-honored methods of tequila production, which involve a deep appreciation for the agave plant, a respect for nature, and a commitment to quality. The artesian distilleries in Tequila are typically located in the heart of the town, surrounded by agave fields that stretch across the landscape. These distilleries are often family-owned and operated, passed down from generation to generation, and steeped in local culture and tradition. One of the key features of a Tequila artesian distillery is the use of traditional clay ovens, known as "hornos," for cooking the agave hearts, or "piñas." The piñas are slowly roasted in these ovens for several days, allowing them to develop rich and complex flavors. The cooked piñas are then crushed to extract the juice, which is fermented and distilled to produce tequila. The distillation process in a Tequila artesian distillery often involves the use of copper pot stills, which are believed to contribute to the unique flavors and aromas of tequila. The distillers carefully monitor the fermentation and distillation process, using their experience and expertise to produce tequila of the highest quality. Another important aspect of a Tequila artesian distillery is the aging process. Tequila can be aged in various types of barrels, such as oak, which impart different flavors and characteristics to the final product. The barrels are often stored in traditional warehouses, where the tequila is allowed to mature and develop its distinct flavors over time. In addition to the traditional methods of tequila production, Tequila artesian distilleries often prioritize sustainability and environmental consciousness. Many distilleries use organic and sustainable farming practices, as well as water conservation measures, to ensure the long-term health of the agave fields and the surrounding ecosystem. Overall, a Tequila artesian distillery in Tequila, Mexico is a place where tradition, craftsmanship, and passion come together to produce one of the world's most beloved spirits. It embodies the cultural heritage and artistry of tequila production, showcasing the deep connection between the land, the people, and the spirit. Visitors to Tequila can experience the magic of these distilleries firsthand through tours, tastings, and educational experiences that offer a glimpse into the rich history and craftsmanship behind this iconic Mexican spirit.

We went there two years ago. It was awesome. We spent a couple thousand dollars and several gallons of tequila. Good experience.. they gave us several tequilas to taste from which was good to make good choices of the Anejo and silver tequila we bought. We went back a few months ago and now it’s a total tourist trap. We did not want to go in the front door as we have already did the tour they made us walk all the way around the block which was about .5 miles. So we tried to sit down they told us we could not sit there because there was groups coming. I said I just want to buy tequila and have a good experience again. They told us we need to give them a tip. To taste the tequila and decide what we wanted.. I explained we’ve been here before. Just gonna have a good time in this hot no fans no air circulation environment. The chicken a$$ waiter solicited a tip, and then he asked where we were from. I told him we were from Matamoros Mexico.. he scolded us for not tipping him. Before we left, we still bought several hundred dollars of tequila. We will never go back to this tourist trap that it has become. …. what a disappointment. They heard you and like sheep now……

A historic place were a river pours in to a natural hand wash stone washers. It still functions and the water is fresh but not drinkable. If you go part of the tour you will go here and then a tequila factory.

Museo Los Abuelos, also known as the National Museum of Tequila, is located in the 19th-century Sauza family home. This museum showcases family heirlooms and provides insight into the traditional process of making tequila. Visitors can explore the historic production of this iconic Mexican drink and learn about how the Sauza family built their renowned brand. While exploring this museum, visitors can also enjoy outdoor attractions such as an extinct volcano and the Los Azules Waterfall.
You must go to learn more about the history of the tequila. Can't take photos inside the old house but is nice.

Attempted to visit the museum on 6/21 however a small signed posted to the door indicated that it was temporarily closed with no additional information. Doesn’t appear that the web content is current. Probably best to call ahead before making plans to visit.

Informative, interesting. we arrived with no reservation and got an interesting tour in English and Spanish. The Jose Cuervo gift shop is better, tho.

We went through the family part, the awards they received in the past, the dining room and the Kitchen as well as a room with a desk and photos with celebrities. It costs 30 pesos per person. The Tequila Railway Station in Jalisco, Mexico is the starting point for an exciting all-you-can-drink train journey to the town of Tequila. The 11-hour excursion offers a pre-planned itinerary, so there's no need for reservations. In Tequila, visitors can immerse themselves in the culture of tequila making and tasting while enjoying various activities in the plaza. However, it's recommended to have a designated driver as this may not be suitable for children under 18.
This is the train station to take the Jose Cuervo Express. It's quiet, clean, big. But a little uncomfortable to get to from the Tequila town, since the streets that leads to the station sort of need some rebuild in my opinion. The station itself is beautiful and with a good view.
Idrialis C — Google review
Tequila Jalisco, is a great destination place to have fun and enjoy all the amenities of the Tequila from the learning of Tequila making ,till the tasting. the plaza has lots of activities for the whole family, but i would say it is not a place for kids under18- please have a designated driver you will need it 😁

Great tour! I had a lot of fun and though I don’t speak Spanish very well, communication worked out pretty well and they were very patient and trying their best to explain the instructions to me and in general just super friendly. Everado and Julian helped us at any point if we needed it and are just amazing guides. Totally felt safe with them. The tour, the nature, the food, the scenery and the people - everything great. Amazing experience, can only recommend! Especially doing it with the . You‘ll get your money’s worth. Thank you!

(Translated by Google) A very beautiful place, still semi-virgin. There is a pipe from where the human draws water. There is already a permanent family that sells you and they appear in the photo. For those of us who don't climb there is a previous pond to get into, just be careful because from one meter it goes to two that we don't know how to swim through, it depends on whether there is a storm and the flow of water can be very active. The GPS signal is lost so download the offline map. The car is left in the caretaker of the area. Mandatory charge 50 pesos in advance. There is a lot of plastic bottle waste, filthy humans. You have to walk approximately 10 minutes from the parking lot. It is closer to Córdoba, I arrived through Zongolica de Orizaba. Very nice path between the mountain ranges. Recommended. Do not leave garbage or remains of campfires, there are more and more. Confidence to speak, ask questions and support. Although it deserves 5 stars, two things I would recommend would be first to hire someone to clean the route and second, to include some type of simple souvenir such as a magnet or keychain would be a good detail.

(Translated by Google) The experience is incredible!!! We traveled from Mérida, Yucatán by car and the local guides were writing to us and answering us at all times. In fact, we had a problem with our vehicle and they were even more attentive to the schedule of the activity, so that helped us a lot since we came from afar. Now, it is an activity that does not require knowledge about climbing, but Ian, however, you should not be afraid of heights, my 14-year-old son was able to go down and up alone without help and was very happy, and if you are physically fit like me, the climb does not take less than 5 minutes, which is the time it took me to climb and 2 minutes I made stops to take photos and video from different angles, it is much better to do that on the way back than on the way down.

If you're seeking a unique and memorable experience in Mexico, look no further than Destiladora Puntual. This charming tequila distillery offers an incredible opportunity to camp on-site while immersing yourself in the world of tequila production. The owner, Jose, is not only welcoming but also incredibly knowledgeable about the history and craft of tequila.
We were recommended this place by a fellow motorcycle traveler we met in Mexico. Immediately, we were drawn to the concept of being able to camp in a tequila distillery property. José, the owner of the agave estate is a very generous man. He is thoughtful and kind and treated us like family. We wrote him on WhatsApp a few hours in advance. We camped at the property which has all the facilities one would need. The tour of the production of tequila is very enriching and enjoyable. José took all the time to explain to us everything about the traditional drink. The property has a sprawling swimming pool to cool off in the heat. What a lovely experience and I absolutely highly recommend everyone visiting Tequila, this experience. Can’t wait to come back here myself!
Medha R — Google review
The experience at Puntual Tequila wouldn’t be the best without Jose! You encounter there a great tequila place but more than anything else a dedicated man to his work, legacy full of kindness and really willing to share his passion with others. We had the great chance to stay two days there to learn from Jose how to make the tequila to test it and to learn from all these back story from Jose. Don’t hésite this is the place
Waffelsworldtour N — Google review
The tour is really interesting as Jose is an independent Tequila producer and knows and explains really well. His English is perfect. Nothing is too much trouble for him. We stopped at his campground for 6 nights in all which is the longest we have stayed anywhere since shipping our Motorhome from the U.K. over a year ago.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at José's distillery. The campsite met all our needs. The tour of the fields and distillery was a standout experience of our trip to Mexico. José provided a well-humored introduction to his Tequila, offering private insights into the production process and the life of a family-run distillery. Highly recommended!
