Stunning dishes! A must to order the Tortilla de Camarones, Gilda de atún and Langostinos with chickpeas. Service was impeccable and if you are sitting at the bar, make yourself a favour and walk along the restaurant to see the decoration, truly special! A must in Cadiz!

Overall almost excellent experience! The food was great. The highlights were tuna adobo, sponge cake, marinated clams. Miguel was very friendly and helpful. We recommend it overall, but we don’t give 5 stars bcoz the shrimps were not cleaned as expected. (We expected at least the head of the shrimp to be removed but it seems to be a common practice in Spain to serve the whole shrimp).

Just a few meters from San Sabastian fort is this restaurant best to enjoy the sunset and then head for dinner, reservation required if you will be late, place has history and has some wines that were not available anywhere in Cadiz , we had a great time here alot of local and many British expats too

I can’t fault this place for service or food, both impeccable. But atmosphere, there was none. The staff are very professional and helpful, especially with my food allergies. Their menu is clearly defined for allergens and the staff are also knowledgeable about the food they serve. I was able to eat my favourite rabo de toro for the first time in years because here, unlike any other restaurant where I’ve enquired, they don’t coat the meat in flour before it is sealed, so that was a rare treat. The salmorejo is also gluten free. Reasonably priced considering standard, quality and location. I would return.

Interesting experience and one of the few places where I had to wait in line to enter just as it was opening for lunch. The bar is standing only, which felt like a very Spanish experience, but the tapas selection I got to sample was delicious. A lonely planet suggestsion, it was worth the wait.

I felt privileged to eat the spectacular food they produce in this restaurant. We had sea urchin, prepared in a way we are not accustomed to. Usually, I have eaten it fresh on sushi or tossed with pasta. This delicate presentation was a delight! Pâté de cabracho, tortilla de camarones, albondiguitas de marisco, almejas con espinacas, navajas, tocino! The waiter stopped us before we could overdo it. But we can’t have these lovely things back home!😢and they took care of calling a taxi. Personal muy simpático y profesional. Do book in advance. It’s not difficult to get a reservation. Better reserve than turn up with no table!

For one of the better presentations of Gaditano cuisine, this is a good choice. We are in the more casual area, the formal dining room looked elegant and with a larger selection so if we went back I would try that. For the type of food and service offered in the more casual side, I feel that Casa Lazo is a much better choice.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Balandro! It was a fabulous experience! The waiter and waitress were very kind and patient with me as my Spanish is not the best.. The food was absolutely brilliant! It was good to try some Spanish cuisine with a twist, it was all so tasty and the desert was delicious! I’ve never had anything like it before. The atmosphere was great too, wonderful to see it so busy and alive! Thank you so much!

One of the best food adventures in Cádiz. Loved their unusual menu and very special wine choice, including recommendation of a sommelier. The atmosphere is also very nice, the service and serving are very pleasant. Highly recommended!

Really good restaurant. You really need to make reservations a couple of days before. Eating at the bar is fine. We had arroz caldoso with lobster. It was amazing.

Wonderful seafood looking out onto the Atlantic Ocean. Service was a touch frosty, maybe because we don't have fluent Spaniah. Definitely a locals restaurant which is why we were there. It was packed. Food was great. Lovely wines. The grandstand reserva Cava a standout.

The food was tasty but they forgot to bring us our drinks and starters. After 25 minutes they brought out the entrées and we had to ask for the drinks and starters again.

Classy atmosphere, smiling and efficient service and incredibly fresh products prepared with creativity and finesse. A must try in your stay in Cadiz. Keep a bit of space for the desserts.

My wife and I absolutely loved this place -- simply dripping with traditional Spanish culture. Yes, it's touristy and crowded. But it's filled with locals, and worth the wait! We could not get in for dinner (we did not line up early enough), but found it fairly easy to get in for lunch the next day. The tortillitas de camarones were exquisite, but so was the salmorejo -- which is served cold, and looks a lot like gazpacho. We did not know much about sherry, but asked for a semi-sweet sherry, and were happy to be served a glass of Canasta Cream sherry. (Quite a bit like Porto wine). The prices are very fair. Taberna Casa Manteca is a real gem. !Muchas gracias!

Very delicious, only very hot - you can sit outside only (33 degrees in June), lots of people, noise and the waiters tired too. And you have to wait. The meal was delicious, especially tartita de camarones, salmorejo con helado. Mojama de atun had lot of salt for my taste. Fried fish was ok. Potato salads (both) were delicious, only it came too late, after all the food, after we asked again. Croquetas de jamon y camarones were very delicious. A guide from Cadifornia recomended us the place. Overall, my recomendations!

A brilliant place, after seeing a couple of photos exactly what you would expect. Friendly staff, busy with a great buzz. Amazing quality food. If you’re a sherry lover this is a must visit!

We walked 1.6 km under scorching sun to reach this restaurant and it didn’t disappoint. We ordered one portion of the prawn omelette, a marinated yellowtail tuna and squid. The food was so amazing that we ordered another two portions of prawn omelette 🤭. Love it, 🥰

Very dificult with the language 🙈 Stuff doesn't clearly understood in english our orders. We had to use the pen and litteraly to point them by finger what we would like to order from thair's menus. Still, we did not get what we've ordered. Over all, one dish was missed and "El tuna" was overcooked and dry. Best choice for us was - fried squids.

What an absolute find. Firstly, get here early! Queues form very quick! The food served here is cooked fresh, and comes dish at a time, dont expect everything to come at once. That's not how tapas works. The patatas alioli was absolutely out of this world!

Amazing restaurant with a lot of fresh, fried fish, shrimp and squid dishes. My favourite was the fried fish pancake’s called Tortillitas de Camarones. Fast service and great atmosphere.

We went to this place following recommendations from Google and Lonely Planet. We had to wait for a table but weren't disappointed. We were lucky to sit outside, but there's a great buzz inside too. The food was great and service friendly. The salad of shrimp and octopus was really refreshing.

You know this is a real deal as the majority of visitants are local rather than tourist. There are some rules of thumb that simply work well. This place always has a tail of customers waiting, or you can feel the joy of people with the dishes and drinks. If you are looking for sea food / tapas / or a place to earn the experience of the South food, this is the right place. Great location with indoor or terrace restaurant, amazing service and obviously the great diversity of fish & sea food that has a quality well over the price. Amazing falls short so go and repeat

Affordable and delicious seafood. Every tourist must visit. Just buy a 1 kg mix plate seen in the photo and be happy. Tested personally during my Cadiz visit.

The best fresh seafood you will get for the best price. I highly recommand.. it was so good i went there 2 times!

Great value for money. Paella was our favourite. The only downside could be the presence of pigeons outside and a few inside, which might feel a bit uncomfortable. Service was fast and polite, and they patiently served us until the very last minute before closing. Thank you!

Really nice restaurant in a cozy area of Cádiz. Food is delicious and fresh, and the atmosphere is relaxed. Staff is polite and welcoming, especially our waitresses Alva. We liked this place so much, came here 3 times during our stay.

This is the way any place should be: excellent food; efficient & attentive staff & great location! ( the restaurant itself is narrow, and has a second floor) but in summer tables are laid out in the nice square and one corridor outside. Good choice, honest food !

The menu is amazing with a fantastic choice of fish cooked in various ways. We enjoyed it a lot the first night and as the saturday was really busy, we went back as we knew we wouldn't be disappointed. There's a little wait for the tables outdoors, but worth the wait! Definitely go there if you love fish and their shrimp fritters are amazing!

Very decent tapas but nothing that blew my mind. All the tapas we had was really nice apart from the fried baby squid which was a bit squidgy and gritty. I didn’t love the cold mussels either. Price is sort of normal for the area Would recommend for decent tapas but again no wow factor for me.

Be honest we are very disappointed about the food. It is not as good as people said online. The food tastes ok not good not bad but it’s fresh. The price is reasonable. The expectation is too high before we have the meal. The seasoning is too salty for us. The tomatoes salad with the meal are a good but again it is still a little bit too salty for us.

One of the best tapas bars we have eaten in in Spain! So charming and so busy that it’s a given that the food will be fresh! We were seated close to the kitchen so I saw most of the dishes being brought out! Hard working chefs and staff! Lilly served us and was very sweet! We ordered quite a few tapas and the pulpo! Their local ‘wine of the house’ was also very good! Very economical as well! Fantastic! I would recommend this to definitely be one of the evenings in Cadiz! I would give them 7 stars 🌟

We arrived after we had walked heaps of kms looking for the ultimate place to eat. We thought they were full so we had the feeling they would say no but …. My wife and her walking stick gave us the best seats int he house. We had the most amazing patates bravas, pork cheek, tuna steak, ibéro ham, and a bottle of the finest red wine coupled with service you die for in any restaurant you must try this if you visit Cádiz!

Oh my goodness, what a delight! This place is compact (so probably not suitable for groups) but delicious! Definitely book if you can. We managed to sneak a spot at the bar without one, but it was very busy. I am gluten free and there were lots of options to choose from. They also provided me with a warm gluten free bread roll upon request. It wasn’t great, but that’s to be expected. Highlights were the braised pork and the heuvos rotolos. Also, the wine they served was excellent. I’d had a few too many overly chilled red wines in Cádiz but this was in a specific red wine fridge and so nice. Will recommend this spot to anyone visiting Cádiz.

One of the best tapas I tried in Cádiz. I had to wait a bit outside, but it was worth it. Very pleasant atmosphere, good service, and delicious food.

We were bar hopping for the evening and this was the first tapas bar we visited and we were super happy with the service by the waitress with purple highlights she was a delight, we laughed a lots at the time of ordering and she is a gem , she took good care of my gluten free request and was more then generous with her explanation, we knew we were in good hands and asked her to order for us she bought a glass of dry fortied wine and sweet fortied wine and a bottle of Spanish muscatel wine and we had a merry evening

Best tapas in Cadiz!!! A must visit if you're here but get reservations is always packed, the staff incredibly friendly and helpful, the atmosphere lively and the FOOD!!! WOW!!!

Ate here twice the food was excellent. Highlights were the Columela Spicy Potatoes, Galician-style Octopus and the Tuna Tartare. A must visit restaurant if you’re coming to Cádiz.

A huge indoor fish market , which is just great to wander through . Made me wish I was self catering because the fish and seafood was all super fresh and really good value too ! The market has meat and cheese stalls , along with a few others , which circle the outside . There are a few bars and cafes down at the bottom end , but be ready to speak Spanish ! Try your best , they appreciate it ! Great place to explore .

#1 groceries and fishing The different market stalls offer a wide variety of groceries, bakery products and fish. All products, especially the fish tho, are lined up carefully to pose for the endless camera lenses pointed at them. #2 architecture This represents the perfect harmony of old and modern market place architecture. The long extended straight roofs form a sort of hall way for the customer to wait in the shade.

I've never seen such large selection of very fresh fish and seafood anywhere else in Europe. Obviously they sell fresh vegetables, fruits, meat and sausages as well. It's a fantastic market.

This one is not as good as the one in Madrid or Barcelona, However it still has many choices for seafood. We enjoyed the deep fried shrimps and little fishes for our afternoon snack. Very fresh and tasty. Excellent.

Nice local fish built in 1838. A lot of food stalls for food and drink. Good to go for lunch. The market opens 9am-3.30pm. Some food stalls stay open for dinner, but a lot less choices.

A taste of many regions of Spain in one place! Loved it here, so much to try including local charcuterie and montaditas and various Jerez sherries. That was my choice and did not disappoint.

A terrific outdoor food market for eating and tasting a variety of foods options. Great beets, wines etc at all stands. If you like seafoods your will really enjoy the variety. Come before 2pm as it quietens down then and closes shortly afterwards,

Get there early to get a place at the bar. No need to reserve at the restaurant to have amazing food. We will go back for the ova and the buñuelos! The prices for the fried fish are really good for the quantity and quality. My wife loved the cazuela and it was so filling!

You can tell how good this place is by the queue for the unbookable outside tapas tables. They get claimed well before the place even opens. We booked ahead and ate in the restaurant. Food was exceptional and service also spot on. Not to be missed if you are in Sanlucar.

Great seafood/produce. We had tomato salad with fresh tuna, the famous Sanlucar shrimp (boiled and eaten cold), mixed fried seafood, and yogurt ice cream. Simple and satisfying.

We sat at the bar and ordered mostly fish tapas as the restaurant was fully booked. We were in Andalucia for 10 days and this was probably the best food we had with amazing value for money. Everything we had was very tasty and the price was almost unbelievably low. 100% recommended.

Very good food. Quality ingredients and produce. Very fine olive oil, and seafood. We repeated on the same trip twice. Try the Cod Burgers, langostinos and Corvina.

The food was incredible. The quality and freshness of the seafood was superb. The service was quick and friendly. And the view is great over the beach and water. We really loved it. Come on time, to avoid waiting lines.

I couldn't recommend El Lola more.. this was our most memorable meal during our 10 day trip to Spain. We had the spicy tuna tartar, goat cheese, chicken meatballs, and pistachio cream dessert. All were delicious but I'd travel back to Tarifa just to have the tuna tartar again. The meat was so fresh, not a fatty piece in it, and such a generous portion. On top of the food, the wine, service, and atmosphere as we sat outside were all top notch.

A very nice restaurant with delicious food and well-sized portions. The staff was attentive and friendly throughout our visit. However, it was quite crowded, and we ended up at a less comfortable table with bar stools and an uneven surface, which took away a bit from the dining experience. In my opinion, the prices are a little too high for what you actually get – still good, but not fully matching the cost.

Great atmosphere, food good, we had various half plates, which were delicious and substantial, the calamari sliders were delish, as was the boquerones on toast, followed by the Iberian ‘Lagato’ which had the most amazing chargrilled flavor. Service was sketchy as they were sooo busy but everyone was very polite. They don’t take reservations, so get there between 7:30-8pm if you don’t want to queue for an hour or more. Very much worth a visit!

10/10, one of the best meals I’ve ever had in the world - not an understatement! As someone that loves food and eating out this restaurant blew me away. The things they did with the Atún rojo have to be experienced if you’re in Tarifa, went for lunch and had to go back for dinner to try the food again. HIGHLY recommend.

5 stars — Waiting 90 minutes was absolutely worth it. The croquetas, the little hamburguesitas, and the revuelto de patata con jamón ibérico were all outstanding. Every bite felt special, full of flavor and made with care. Truly magical tapas worth the wait.

LOLA in Tarifa is an absolute must! The food is out of this world – from the house signature Frito Lola to the spicy tuna tartare (whaaaat a mezl 🤩) every bite is delicious. The atmosphere is full of flamenco-style charm and energy. Just remember, it’s first come, first serve, so get there a little early. Totally worth it!

This place is super popular and way too busy. There are equally good choices nearby. As such, the atmosphere with the street full of waiting patrons continually staring at you is a tad annoying. We arrived at 8 and waited 5min. Those that arrived at 8:30 waited till 9:30 to be seated. The highlight is the service. Super fast, not one set waiter for your table, ultra-attentive, and fun/friendly. Food is excellent, but it is also excellent in the mutliple adjacent restaurants. El Lola specializes in tuna; also meat and veggie offerings. Anything heated/cooked is very salty, thus the flavor. The rare tuna was great - no salt but good balance of olive oil and garlic. Photos are of the Tataki Tuna and the Presa Iberica de Bellota. I do not recommend the presa.

Truly speechless every detail was an absolute delight. My sincerest compliments to the chef for crafting such an exquisite menu, and to the entire team whose dedication elevated the experience even further. Each dish felt like a celebration of flavor and artistry. If I could, I would have gladly ordered the entire menu. An unforgettable experience. I’ll be back so soon to try more and more

The restaraunt is in a nice setting along the promenade, with great views over the ocean, good ambience and decor. The food was tasty, although portion sizes were disappointing (particularly the clams, which felt like more of a tapas portion size despite costing €20).

This restaurant looked promising due to its location on the promenade and the reviews but we were left very disappointed. What you pay for the quality and quantity of the food is ridiculous. Two of us felt sick in the evening after eating the same fish dish which wasn't great. Our young son ordered the burger and instead of the waiter telling us it would take longer or atleast making sure his food was prepared first since he is a young child we all received our food at the table and had to wait another 15min before his food eventually came to the table. At this restaurant you clearly pay for the view and location and not the food or service.

Despite its appealing location and positive reviews, our experience at this restaurant was deeply disappointing—and certainly not one we’d ever repeat. The cost was outrageous given the poor quality and meager portions of the food. After sharing the same fish dish, two of us felt unwell later that evening, and the dish itself was far from impressive. Service was equally lacking. Meals for our party of six were not served together, with one guest receiving his food at least 15 minutes after everyone else (we were not notified that this rather simple dish would take so long). It’s clear that what you’re paying for here is the view, not the cuisine or hospitality. Of the six restaurants and bars we visited in Cádiz, this was by far the worst in terms of both food quality and value for money.

Called as a drop in and welcomed warmly. Fresh fish on display and excellent choice. Next door Tapas bar busy also. Great service and food. Grilled sea bass delicious.

The staff were unfriendly and rude. Felt like we were an inconvenience. This is meant to be a fish restaurant yet they did not have many of the standard fish dishes one would expect! Overall , extremely disappointing! Would not recommend, highly inflated prices also for very little .

Awesome food, great view, awesome vibe

Incredible innovation, very disappointing menu. Most dishes one was impressed with what they've done (everything comes from the sea for example, everything) but then in the mouth it was mediocre or even pretty bad in some examples. There's an obsession with plankton and sea elements that are just not tasty at all. The deserts in particular I felt were a bit of an insult being a 3 star michelin. They were just sugar with stuff, we didn't finish them. Place is amazing, service is good, and the experience is special. However, I wouldn't come back, nor really recommend anyone to go for that price. Wine pairing was really well done, we enjoyed it the most probably.

If you like restaurants that challenge your perceptions of flavors and make you think, then Aponiente is the spot. You will taste and eat things from the sea you’ve never thought to, or even knew were edible. Great, new, and unique tastes and textures. There were certainly some bold new flavors that I loved and a few that I didn’t like at all - but I was just as glad to try those as well because they offered a new perspective of what is possible and what you may sync with. Service was kind and attentive and professional. They were detail oriented and timely in their staging. This restaurant is well deserved in its recognition. I would recommend.

Dinner at Aponiente is probably one of the top 5 dining experiences in my life. I don't have the skill to properly describe just how wonderful everything was, but it was everything that we hoped for. The staff and service were perfect (Muchas gracias to Ana, Susana, and the sommelier Juan Gabriel!). The dining room was serene, beautiful, relaxed, and felt private and intimate. Each dish was an incredible, surprising balance of flavors. Simply delightful! We were very happy that we ordered the wine pairing with local wines, because we got an outstanding introduction to many excellent sherries which we had never had before. Now, we better appreciate what sherries have to offer. Thank you to the entire staff at Aponiente for making my wife's birthday such a special, unforgettable occasion.

When I booked it, I was not very excited because a menu fully inspired in the ocean sounds very specific, but I was surprised with every single dish prepared. All were pure sophistication, balance, delicacy, and novelty. The flavors were original and extremely delicious. Beyond the science, the technology, the artistry of each dish, it is the soul of Aponiente. All dishes are made with purpose, and are memorable.

An absolute experience of a life time. Angel Leon surprises with every step of the way. Exquisite dishes and unique flavors. Only geniuses can attempt to make butter out of plankton and succeed at it. Great staff and service!!

"Imagine there’s no land… and you just can live and nourish yourself from the sea. That is APONIENTE" The phrase on their website and advertising rings very true, and after seeing many interviews and written pieces about Chef León and his crew, I really needed to go and see what the hype was all about. If I was curious before, I'm OBSESSED now. From before you have even entered the property until your last steps back out onto the street, the staff at Aponiente treat you like Kings and Queens. But even better, because I think they were more fun with us than they might be with the King! For a 3 Michelin Star restaurant, Aponiente is so very relaxed in its atmosphere. Unpretentious and comfortable, even as your every whim is attended to. We had such a fabulous sommelier (Juan Gabriel) presenting each pairing with a huge smile, and his descriptions and stories of the wines felt like he had created each one himself - the pride and the joy of his job shined through the whole evening. Ana was our main server and she just dazzled us with well placed jokes and her super warm personality. You have a whole team of staff through the meal, and I really love the feeling of a ship's crew that exists through the gorgeous building. Oh you probably wanted to know about the food, too! Absolute insanity. Chef León is a creative genius. You should know the whole menu (18 courses in the one I had) is created from the sea. The starting rounds, the main round, and the desserts are ALL marine-ingredient dishes. I really liked 15, 2 were OK, and 1 I did not like or finish. Those are amazing odds with an 18 course ocean-only menu! I have photos of everything attached. We started our visit greeted outside the main doors, and were first led into a lounge for our opening Möet and 4 starter bites. We had the "Non Plus Ultra" pairing package which includes more upscale pairings, and they have other packages as well. On the way into the main dining room, we were given a tour of the building - I won't spoil it, but it's got history, and so much character and charm. I WILL give you photos of the menu and the dishes, because as I write this they are 1 week away from closing for the 2025 season, and when they return after the holidays the menu will be completely different from what I am posting. So my photos won't matter, as they won't be repeated - and I'll for sure be returning next year. Lucky me... I live in the same city as the restaurant!

A top notch experience. Staff were exceptional and food was great as well. Great to see the different ways the ocean can be made into so many delicious dishes. Bummed they didn’t do the salt cooking table side but maybe it’ll make a come back with something new. Came hungry and left full.

Very nice place with a various choice of food, fish food, grills, meats. The service is also very good and fast. We ate grilled squids, was a perfect made and paella with mushrooms and seafood. Was also very tasty and really full with seafood and mushrooms

First of all, the atmosphere and decorations are amazing, you can't compare with any other restaurants around, so many nice details, it is just great! On the ground floor Gastro Bar is located where you can order from the "tapas" menu or the restaurant menu. On the first floor there is a restaurant where you can order only from the restaurant menu. On the food side, all the tapas from Gastro Bar menu were good quality and tasty and even portions were pretty big. Overall, great experience! UPDATE: We came back multiple times, also we tried the restaurant and all the time our experience was great.

Great decor, something a little bit more special than most restaurants. They have two menus. One for the downstairs and another for the main restaurant upstairs. Downstairs is more tapas and small dishes. The only thing I was let down by was the croquettes. But still 5*!

Delicious food and a wonderful ambiance. The restaurant is located in five star hotel. We felt the portions were quite small for the price, also prawns smelled a bit fishy. Overall nice experience

It could be do much better. You book with your credit card and if you don’t turn up they charge you €50 per person. We did turn up and getting the feeling they were not listening on leaving I blocked my card. Hey presto, they tried to take several amounts (5) €90 - €93 from my bank account. The service is sporadic, not listening to requests, bringing what they think you’ve ordered not actually what you have. I speak good Spanish but it’s not listened to. The food is good but exceptionally expensive. Not a venue we will be returning to. Don’t need the hassle. It’s meant to be relaxing, it really isn’t.

The restaurant is nothing special overall - not good not bad, but what is disappointing and disgusting is what kind of people work there. We asked them for a simple charger and they all as one said they don’t have one - only when I said in the end of night, that I can’t pay without a charger - they somehow magically found it. Unbelievable what kind of service it even is, so they had that charger just did not want to provide. 0 stars.

We came to this Cerveceria by chance just before siesta and were pleasantly delighted by the tapas. Though the staff did not speak much English, we followed their recommendations and thorough enjoyed the dishes such as the Gambones, Huelva and croquettes.

Super local handout focused on fried seafood of a wide variety. Everything was deep fried, but done well. Juicy in the middle and crunchy on the outside. Portions were also generous, so the 250gm portions are sizeable. Seasoning however, was another matter. I love salt as it is, and I did feel that they were a little heavy here. It overpowered the seafood-ness and also raised my heart rate a fair bit. Had to order another beer and cleans my palate with bread to get over the sodium! Ambiance was clearly local, and a bit annoying with the jackpot machine pinging in the background and clashing with the TV blaring some game show at the same time. Definitely a local join with regulars, and a good place to hit for seafood at an affordable price. Just stand ready to order lots of drinks!
