Nestled just outside the historic center of Cádiz, Restaurante El Faro de Cádiz has been a beloved culinary gem for over three decades, thanks to the dedication of chef Fernando Cordoba and his wife Ana Isabel Puerto. Housed in a charming old manor surrounded by lush gardens that feature their own herb and vegetable garden, this restaurant beautifully blends modern aesthetics with traditional charm.
Our night at this restaurant was absolutely unforgettable. The service was excellent, warm, and made us feel right at home from the very beginning. One of the highlights of the evening was the Chirigotas show, which had us laughing non-stop. It was a brilliant and lively performance that made the atmosphere even more special. The food was equally impressive. The fish baked in salt was cooked to perfection, the wine selection was fantastic, and the dessert was the perfect sweet ending to an incredible night. Without a doubt, I would return to Cádiz just to experience this place again. It is truly a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy amazing food, great entertainment, and a night to remember.

Stunning dishes! A must to order the Tortilla de Camarones, Gilda de atún and Langostinos with chickpeas. Service was impeccable and if you are sitting at the bar, make yourself a favour and walk along the restaurant to see the decoration, truly special! A must in Cadiz!
Alejandro R — Google review
Overall almost excellent experience! The food was great. The highlights were tuna adobo, sponge cake, marinated clams. Miguel was very friendly and helpful. We recommend it overall, but we don’t give 5 stars bcoz the shrimps were not cleaned as expected. (We expected at least the head of the shrimp to be removed but it seems to be a common practice in Spain to serve the whole shrimp).
Sagadat A — Google review
Just a few meters from San Sabastian fort is this restaurant best to enjoy the sunset and then head for dinner, reservation required if you will be late, place has history and has some wines that were not available anywhere in Cadiz , we had a great time here alot of local and many British expats too
Franz P — Google review
I can’t fault this place for service or food, both impeccable. But atmosphere, there was none. The staff are very professional and helpful, especially with my food allergies. Their menu is clearly defined for allergens and the staff are also knowledgeable about the food they serve. I was able to eat my favourite rabo de toro for the first time in years because here, unlike any other restaurant where I’ve enquired, they don’t coat the meat in flour before it is sealed, so that was a rare treat. The salmorejo is also gluten free. Reasonably priced considering standard, quality and location. I would return.
Tina H — Google review
Interesting experience and one of the few places where I had to wait in line to enter just as it was opening for lunch. The bar is standing only, which felt like a very Spanish experience, but the tapas selection I got to sample was delicious. A lonely planet suggestsion, it was worth the wait.
Micah W — Google review
I felt privileged to eat the spectacular food they produce in this restaurant. We had sea urchin, prepared in a way we are not accustomed to. Usually, I have eaten it fresh on sushi or tossed with pasta. This delicate presentation was a delight! Pâté de cabracho, tortilla de camarones, albondiguitas de marisco, almejas con espinacas, navajas, tocino! The waiter stopped us before we could overdo it. But we can’t have these lovely things back home!😢and they took care of calling a taxi. Personal muy simpático y profesional. Do book in advance. It’s not difficult to get a reservation. Better reserve than turn up with no table!
Catherine M — Google review
For one of the better presentations of Gaditano cuisine, this is a good choice. We are in the more casual area, the formal dining room looked elegant and with a larger selection so if we went back I would try that. For the type of food and service offered in the more casual side, I feel that Casa Lazo is a much better choice.

Nestled along the stunning northern coast of Cadiz, Restaurante Balandro is a stylish gem that captivates both locals and visitors alike. This charming eatery boasts breathtaking views of the Bay of Cadiz, making it an ideal spot for enjoying creative local cuisine. The Velez brothers have crafted a menu that highlights fresh seafood sourced from nearby waters, featuring delectable dishes like octopus with mustard mayonnaise and smoked fish couscous adorned with raisins and pine nuts.
Went here for lunch 5 times during our month’s stay in June in Cadiz. Ate at the Bar each time and was generally there when they opened at 1pm. The food was very good and the service was just a little hit and miss although quite acceptable. Prices were good and the dearest part was the wine component. This was because their wine list was excellent and there was a lot of wines we wanted to try while we were in Spain.
Paul C — Google review
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Balandro! It was a fabulous experience! The waiter and waitress were very kind and patient with me as my Spanish is not the best.. The food was absolutely brilliant! It was good to try some Spanish cuisine with a twist, it was all so tasty and the desert was delicious! I’ve never had anything like it before. The atmosphere was great too, wonderful to see it so busy and alive! Thank you so much!

One of the best food adventures in Cádiz. Loved their unusual menu and very special wine choice, including recommendation of a sommelier. The atmosphere is also very nice, the service and serving are very pleasant. Highly recommended!

Nice place with a view over the sea. Friendly staff and good food. I ordered a fillet, good and tasty but not cooked exactly as I asked. I asked for medium-well and it was medium.

Really good restaurant. You really need to make reservations a couple of days before. Eating at the bar is fine. We had arroz caldoso with lobster. It was amazing.

Wonderful seafood looking out onto the Atlantic Ocean. Service was a touch frosty, maybe because we don't have fluent Spaniah. Definitely a locals restaurant which is why we were there. It was packed. Food was great. Lovely wines. The grandstand reserva Cava a standout.
Philip G — Google review
The food was tasty but they forgot to bring us our drinks and starters. After 25 minutes they brought out the entrées and we had to ask for the drinks and starters again.

Classy atmosphere, smiling and efficient service and incredibly fresh products prepared with creativity and finesse. A must try in your stay in Cadiz. Keep a bit of space for the desserts.

Taberna Casa Manteca is a lively tapas bar in Cadiz, known for its meat and seafood small plates, as well as a selection of beer and wine. The walls are adorned with classic bull-fighting posters and sepia images of matadors in their traditional attire. Visitors can enjoy the convivial atmosphere while sampling white anchovies and other delicious tapas.
Ignore the BS review recently shown by a so called local guide. You will notice that every other review is excellent ! This place was highly recommended by English and Spanish alike and when Spaniards wait to get in a place you know it is good, they don’t like waiting ! Been here twice in two days. Didn’t disappoint. Husband said the tortillitas camarones they’re famous for were best he’d ever had. Sadly they’re not gluten free but there are loads of gluten free options on the menu which is clearly labelled for allergens and the staff are allergen aware. The chicharrones were heavenly as was the carne al horno. Boquerones en vinagre, morcilla de hígado (white pudding), jamón bellota (best jamón there is) grilled marrajo fish in garlic and parsley oil, and patatas aliñadas were some of the absolutely delicious gluten free/lactose free/egg free options all naturally free from those three allergens and of course there is plenty of traditional fried fish (not gluten free) which all looks delicious. All you have to do is put your name on the list and wait then enjoy the atmosphere. Staff are great, so friendly and helpful, even offered to take my hubby to watch the tortillitas being made as he ordered so many. Not the cheapest place to eat but worth every penny. Top quality traditional Spanish food.
Tina H — Google review
My wife and I absolutely loved this place -- simply dripping with traditional Spanish culture. Yes, it's touristy and crowded. But it's filled with locals, and worth the wait! We could not get in for dinner (we did not line up early enough), but found it fairly easy to get in for lunch the next day. The tortillitas de camarones were exquisite, but so was the salmorejo -- which is served cold, and looks a lot like gazpacho. We did not know much about sherry, but asked for a semi-sweet sherry, and were happy to be served a glass of Canasta Cream sherry. (Quite a bit like Porto wine). The prices are very fair. Taberna Casa Manteca is a real gem. !Muchas gracias!
Jim M — Google review
Very delicious, only very hot - you can sit outside only (33 degrees in June), lots of people, noise and the waiters tired too. And you have to wait. The meal was delicious, especially tartita de camarones, salmorejo con helado. Mojama de atun had lot of salt for my taste. Fried fish was ok. Potato salads (both) were delicious, only it came too late, after all the food, after we asked again. Croquetas de jamon y camarones were very delicious. A guide from Cadifornia recomended us the place. Overall, my recomendations!
Raminta K — Google review
A brilliant place, after seeing a couple of photos exactly what you would expect. Friendly staff, busy with a great buzz. Amazing quality food. If you’re a sherry lover this is a must visit!
Bryan S — Google review
We walked 1.6 km under scorching sun to reach this restaurant and it didn’t disappoint. We ordered one portion of the prawn omelette, a marinated yellowtail tuna and squid. The food was so amazing that we ordered another two portions of prawn omelette 🤭. Love it, 🥰
Delwin C — Google review
Very dificult with the language 🙈 Stuff doesn't clearly understood in english our orders. We had to use the pen and litteraly to point them by finger what we would like to order from thair's menus. Still, we did not get what we've ordered. Over all, one dish was missed and "El tuna" was overcooked and dry. Best choice for us was - fried squids.
Aurelija V — Google review
What an absolute find. Firstly, get here early! Queues form very quick! The food served here is cooked fresh, and comes dish at a time, dont expect everything to come at once. That's not how tapas works. The patatas alioli was absolutely out of this world!

The restaurant features sidewalk tables where patrons can savor plates of mixed seafood fry, anchovies, shrimps, prawns, octopus salad, calamari strips, marinated dogfish, paella and fideua at affordable prices.
Stood at the counter as a single diner and didn't want to take up a table for one person. Got a few Canjas , tortalitta de Camerones and Choco Fritos(cuttlefish) . Loved standing at the bar talked to my neighbors and food was perfecto! Fast service and staff was great!

Amazing restaurant with a lot of fresh, fried fish, shrimp and squid dishes. My favourite was the fried fish pancake’s called Tortillitas de Camarones. Fast service and great atmosphere.
Thomas L — Google review
We went to this place following recommendations from Google and Lonely Planet. We had to wait for a table but weren't disappointed. We were lucky to sit outside, but there's a great buzz inside too. The food was great and service friendly. The salad of shrimp and octopus was really refreshing.
Em P — Google review
You know this is a real deal as the majority of visitants are local rather than tourist. There are some rules of thumb that simply work well. This place always has a tail of customers waiting, or you can feel the joy of people with the dishes and drinks. If you are looking for sea food / tapas / or a place to earn the experience of the South food, this is the right place. Great location with indoor or terrace restaurant, amazing service and obviously the great diversity of fish & sea food that has a quality well over the price. Amazing falls short so go and repeat

Affordable and delicious seafood. Every tourist must visit. Just buy a 1 kg mix plate seen in the photo and be happy. Tested personally during my Cadiz visit.

Great value for money. Paella was our favourite. The only downside could be the presence of pigeons outside and a few inside, which might feel a bit uncomfortable. Service was fast and polite, and they patiently served us until the very last minute before closing. Thank you!

Due to its growing popularity, reservations are highly recommended, especially during the summer months when outdoor seating gets booked well in advance.
Make sure you book in advance, Always busy. Very typical, mainly with the locals. Food simple but very fresh. Nice advice from the brunette waitress. Will come back again! Definitely

Really nice restaurant in a cozy area of Cádiz. Food is delicious and fresh, and the atmosphere is relaxed. Staff is polite and welcoming, especially our waitresses Alva. We liked this place so much, came here 3 times during our stay.
Azniv H — Google review
This is the way any place should be: excellent food; efficient & attentive staff & great location! ( the restaurant itself is narrow, and has a second floor) but in summer tables are laid out in the nice square and one corridor outside. Good choice, honest food !
Sabas C — Google review
The menu is amazing with a fantastic choice of fish cooked in various ways. We enjoyed it a lot the first night and as the saturday was really busy, we went back as we knew we wouldn't be disappointed. There's a little wait for the tables outdoors, but worth the wait! Definitely go there if you love fish and their shrimp fritters are amazing!
Em P — Google review
Very decent tapas but nothing that blew my mind. All the tapas we had was really nice apart from the fried baby squid which was a bit squidgy and gritty. I didn’t love the cold mussels either. Price is sort of normal for the area Would recommend for decent tapas but again no wow factor for me.
Ada P — Google review
Very busy! Very delicious! A long wait to sit outside but no wait to sit inside! Quick service, delicious food! Would recommend!

Excellent food and even better service. Fresh sea food and big portions. Albariño de la casa 10/10 Materia prima!
Trayana K — Google review
Be honest we are very disappointed about the food. It is not as good as people said online. The food tastes ok not good not bad but it’s fresh. The price is reasonable. The expectation is too high before we have the meal. The seasoning is too salty for us. The tomatoes salad with the meal are a good but again it is still a little bit too salty for us.

Nestled near the vibrant Plaza de la Candelaria, La Tapería de Columela is a delightful wine and tapas bar that captures the essence of Spanish culinary tradition. This charming spot offers an impressive selection of Rioja and Tempranillo wines, perfectly paired with an array of hot and cold tapas as well as mini-baguettes. Indulge in their delectable offerings like Iberian pork, cured cheese, anchovy, chorizo, or sirloin fillet baguettes.
Wow. We had walked by this place several days before, and I liked the vibe. We returned to eat today, and it was a fantastic experience. I asked our waitress, Lily, what she recommended. She suggested the scallions with seaweed. We ordered 2 for each of us. OMG they were amazing and very flavorful. Then we went for the lamb with vegetables, another wonderful and tasty dish, and we finished off with the meat with french fries. I was hoping to do the tuna steak too, but no space or appetite left. My restaurant sense dis not let me down as this was a great place for flavorful food. Am hoping we can return again in our short time visiting Cadiz.
Ruth O — Google review
One of the best tapas bars we have eaten in in Spain! So charming and so busy that it’s a given that the food will be fresh! We were seated close to the kitchen so I saw most of the dishes being brought out! Hard working chefs and staff! Lilly served us and was very sweet! We ordered quite a few tapas and the pulpo! Their local ‘wine of the house’ was also very good! Very economical as well! Fantastic! I would recommend this to definitely be one of the evenings in Cadiz! I would give them 7 stars 🌟
Nauhar R — Google review
We arrived after we had walked heaps of kms looking for the ultimate place to eat. We thought they were full so we had the feeling they would say no but …. My wife and her walking stick gave us the best seats int he house. We had the most amazing patates bravas, pork cheek, tuna steak, ibéro ham, and a bottle of the finest red wine coupled with service you die for in any restaurant you must try this if you visit Cádiz!
Justin B — Google review
Oh my goodness, what a delight! This place is compact (so probably not suitable for groups) but delicious! Definitely book if you can. We managed to sneak a spot at the bar without one, but it was very busy. I am gluten free and there were lots of options to choose from. They also provided me with a warm gluten free bread roll upon request. It wasn’t great, but that’s to be expected. Highlights were the braised pork and the heuvos rotolos. Also, the wine they served was excellent. I’d had a few too many overly chilled red wines in Cádiz but this was in a specific red wine fridge and so nice. Will recommend this spot to anyone visiting Cádiz.
Hannah P — Google review
One of the best tapas I tried in Cádiz. I had to wait a bit outside, but it was worth it. Very pleasant atmosphere, good service, and delicious food.

We were bar hopping for the evening and this was the first tapas bar we visited and we were super happy with the service by the waitress with purple highlights she was a delight, we laughed a lots at the time of ordering and she is a gem , she took good care of my gluten free request and was more then generous with her explanation, we knew we were in good hands and asked her to order for us she bought a glass of dry fortied wine and sweet fortied wine and a bottle of Spanish muscatel wine and we had a merry evening

Amazing place to be. With a great hyper positive atmosphere you will enjoy the best food for an incredible low price. Almost no tourists around ( but us) u will smell the sweet air of Spanish food/good living. We had several small dishes which u eat at the tables around and enjoy nice wine for 2.5 euro per glass. Definitely a place to learn Spanish culture:-)

A huge indoor fish market , which is just great to wander through . Made me wish I was self catering because the fish and seafood was all super fresh and really good value too ! The market has meat and cheese stalls , along with a few others , which circle the outside . There are a few bars and cafes down at the bottom end , but be ready to speak Spanish ! Try your best , they appreciate it ! Great place to explore .

#1 groceries and fishing The different market stalls offer a wide variety of groceries, bakery products and fish. All products, especially the fish tho, are lined up carefully to pose for the endless camera lenses pointed at them. #2 architecture This represents the perfect harmony of old and modern market place architecture. The long extended straight roofs form a sort of hall way for the customer to wait in the shade.

Get there early to get a place at the bar. No need to reserve at the restaurant to have amazing food. We will go back for the ova and the buñuelos! The prices for the fried fish are really good for the quantity and quality. My wife loved the cazuela and it was so filling!

You can tell how good this place is by the queue for the unbookable outside tapas tables. They get claimed well before the place even opens. We booked ahead and ate in the restaurant. Food was exceptional and service also spot on. Not to be missed if you are in Sanlucar.

El Lola - Bar de Tapas y Flamenco is a cozy and popular spot in Tarifa, known for its intimate interior and spacious terrace where locals gather to enjoy classic tapas, wine, and live flamenco music.
Lola a must visit during your stay at Tarifa. It can be really busy, but its worth it. The atmosphere is fantastic. Service great! Good with kids. Food above standards. A good Rioja for 3 euro a glas, just perfect! Overal we enjoyed our last evening on the terrace. Take the tuna platter to share👌and the jamon croquetas👍

I couldn't recommend El Lola more.. this was our most memorable meal during our 10 day trip to Spain. We had the spicy tuna tartar, goat cheese, chicken meatballs, and pistachio cream dessert. All were delicious but I'd travel back to Tarifa just to have the tuna tartar again. The meat was so fresh, not a fatty piece in it, and such a generous portion. On top of the food, the wine, service, and atmosphere as we sat outside were all top notch.

A very nice restaurant with delicious food and well-sized portions. The staff was attentive and friendly throughout our visit. However, it was quite crowded, and we ended up at a less comfortable table with bar stools and an uneven surface, which took away a bit from the dining experience. In my opinion, the prices are a little too high for what you actually get – still good, but not fully matching the cost.

Great atmosphere, food good, we had various half plates, which were delicious and substantial, the calamari sliders were delish, as was the boquerones on toast, followed by the Iberian ‘Lagato’ which had the most amazing chargrilled flavor. Service was sketchy as they were sooo busy but everyone was very polite. They don’t take reservations, so get there between 7:30-8pm if you don’t want to queue for an hour or more. Very much worth a visit!

10/10, one of the best meals I’ve ever had in the world - not an understatement! As someone that loves food and eating out this restaurant blew me away. The things they did with the Atún rojo have to be experienced if you’re in Tarifa, went for lunch and had to go back for dinner to try the food again. HIGHLY recommend.

5 stars — Waiting 90 minutes was absolutely worth it. The croquetas, the little hamburguesitas, and the revuelto de patata con jamón ibérico were all outstanding. Every bite felt special, full of flavor and made with care. Truly magical tapas worth the wait.

LOLA in Tarifa is an absolute must! The food is out of this world – from the house signature Frito Lola to the spicy tuna tartare (whaaaat a mezl 🤩) every bite is delicious. The atmosphere is full of flamenco-style charm and energy. Just remember, it’s first come, first serve, so get there a little early. Totally worth it!
Ghizlane B — Google review
This place is super popular and way too busy. There are equally good choices nearby. As such, the atmosphere with the street full of waiting patrons continually staring at you is a tad annoying. We arrived at 8 and waited 5min. Those that arrived at 8:30 waited till 9:30 to be seated. The highlight is the service. Super fast, not one set waiter for your table, ultra-attentive, and fun/friendly. Food is excellent, but it is also excellent in the mutliple adjacent restaurants. El Lola specializes in tuna; also meat and veggie offerings. Anything heated/cooked is very salty, thus the flavor. The rare tuna was great - no salt but good balance of olive oil and garlic. Photos are of the Tataki Tuna and the Presa Iberica de Bellota. I do not recommend the presa.

Mediterranean restaurant
Restaurante La Marea is a popular dining spot located just south of Cadiz's Old Town, offering an airy terrace with views across Playa de la Victoria. The restaurant is renowned for its seafood dishes, particularly its soupy paella-like arroces and a selection of fresh catches displayed on ice. Visitors can enjoy a variety of delicious options such as grilled tuna, seafood soup, charcoal-grilled gilt-head bream, and fried cuttlefish while taking in the ocean views.
Very nice place and delicious. I will recommend to try tuna taco and tartar ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We did not enjoy the tuna tataki, as we feel the spices are better suited for meat rather than seafood.

Truly speechless every detail was an absolute delight. My sincerest compliments to the chef for crafting such an exquisite menu, and to the entire team whose dedication elevated the experience even further. Each dish felt like a celebration of flavor and artistry. If I could, I would have gladly ordered the entire menu. An unforgettable experience. I’ll be back so soon to try more and more
Masoud H — Google review
The restaraunt is in a nice setting along the promenade, with great views over the ocean, good ambience and decor. The food was tasty, although portion sizes were disappointing (particularly the clams, which felt like more of a tapas portion size despite costing €20).
Andrew S — Google review
This restaurant looked promising due to its location on the promenade and the reviews but we were left very disappointed. What you pay for the quality and quantity of the food is ridiculous. Two of us felt sick in the evening after eating the same fish dish which wasn't great. Our young son ordered the burger and instead of the waiter telling us it would take longer or atleast making sure his food was prepared first since he is a young child we all received our food at the table and had to wait another 15min before his food eventually came to the table. At this restaurant you clearly pay for the view and location and not the food or service.
Shaneil L — Google review
Despite its appealing location and positive reviews, our experience at this restaurant was deeply disappointing—and certainly not one we’d ever repeat. The cost was outrageous given the poor quality and meager portions of the food. After sharing the same fish dish, two of us felt unwell later that evening, and the dish itself was far from impressive. Service was equally lacking. Meals for our party of six were not served together, with one guest receiving his food at least 15 minutes after everyone else (we were not notified that this rather simple dish would take so long). It’s clear that what you’re paying for here is the view, not the cuisine or hospitality. Of the six restaurants and bars we visited in Cádiz, this was by far the worst in terms of both food quality and value for money.
Thean P — Google review
Called as a drop in and welcomed warmly. Fresh fish on display and excellent choice. Next door Tapas bar busy also. Great service and food. Grilled sea bass delicious.
Tim L — Google review
The staff were unfriendly and rude. Felt like we were an inconvenience. This is meant to be a fish restaurant yet they did not have many of the standard fish dishes one would expect! Overall , extremely disappointing! Would not recommend, highly inflated prices also for very little .

Aponiente is a renowned fine-dining destination known for its multi-course menus, wine pairings, and innovative seafood creations. Owned by Angel Leon and led by Head Chef Juan Luis Fernandez, this three Michelin-starred restaurant showcases a dedication to lesser-known fish varieties like Herring, Pollock, and ling. The modern dining room offers two tasting menus focused on seafood, including a 27-course option.
Top 3 restaurants i have ever been to. Simply wow! Beyond perfect service from Ana and Cristina! Such down to earth beautiful people. The food was surprising and of the highest quality. Beautiful venue and what more could i ask for. Love it!
Omar A — Google review
Incredible innovation, very disappointing menu. Most dishes one was impressed with what they've done (everything comes from the sea for example, everything) but then in the mouth it was mediocre or even pretty bad in some examples. There's an obsession with plankton and sea elements that are just not tasty at all. The deserts in particular I felt were a bit of an insult being a 3 star michelin. They were just sugar with stuff, we didn't finish them. Place is amazing, service is good, and the experience is special. However, I wouldn't come back, nor really recommend anyone to go for that price. Wine pairing was really well done, we enjoyed it the most probably.
Marc L — Google review
If you like restaurants that challenge your perceptions of flavors and make you think, then Aponiente is the spot. You will taste and eat things from the sea you’ve never thought to, or even knew were edible. Great, new, and unique tastes and textures. There were certainly some bold new flavors that I loved and a few that I didn’t like at all - but I was just as glad to try those as well because they offered a new perspective of what is possible and what you may sync with. Service was kind and attentive and professional. They were detail oriented and timely in their staging. This restaurant is well deserved in its recognition. I would recommend.
N M — Google review
Dinner at Aponiente is probably one of the top 5 dining experiences in my life. I don't have the skill to properly describe just how wonderful everything was, but it was everything that we hoped for. The staff and service were perfect (Muchas gracias to Ana, Susana, and the sommelier Juan Gabriel!). The dining room was serene, beautiful, relaxed, and felt private and intimate. Each dish was an incredible, surprising balance of flavors. Simply delightful! We were very happy that we ordered the wine pairing with local wines, because we got an outstanding introduction to many excellent sherries which we had never had before. Now, we better appreciate what sherries have to offer. Thank you to the entire staff at Aponiente for making my wife's birthday such a special, unforgettable occasion.
Jim M — Google review
When I booked it, I was not very excited because a menu fully inspired in the ocean sounds very specific, but I was surprised with every single dish prepared. All were pure sophistication, balance, delicacy, and novelty. The flavors were original and extremely delicious. Beyond the science, the technology, the artistry of each dish, it is the soul of Aponiente. All dishes are made with purpose, and are memorable.
Marcos P — Google review
An absolute experience of a life time. Angel Leon surprises with every step of the way. Exquisite dishes and unique flavors. Only geniuses can attempt to make butter out of plankton and succeed at it. Great staff and service!!
Umut A — Google review
"Imagine there’s no land… and you just can live and nourish yourself from the sea. That is APONIENTE" The phrase on their website and advertising rings very true, and after seeing many interviews and written pieces about Chef León and his crew, I really needed to go and see what the hype was all about. If I was curious before, I'm OBSESSED now. From before you have even entered the property until your last steps back out onto the street, the staff at Aponiente treat you like Kings and Queens. But even better, because I think they were more fun with us than they might be with the King! For a 3 Michelin Star restaurant, Aponiente is so very relaxed in its atmosphere. Unpretentious and comfortable, even as your every whim is attended to. We had such a fabulous sommelier (Juan Gabriel) presenting each pairing with a huge smile, and his descriptions and stories of the wines felt like he had created each one himself - the pride and the joy of his job shined through the whole evening. Ana was our main server and she just dazzled us with well placed jokes and her super warm personality. You have a whole team of staff through the meal, and I really love the feeling of a ship's crew that exists through the gorgeous building. Oh you probably wanted to know about the food, too! Absolute insanity. Chef León is a creative genius. You should know the whole menu (18 courses in the one I had) is created from the sea. The starting rounds, the main round, and the desserts are ALL marine-ingredient dishes. I really liked 15, 2 were OK, and 1 I did not like or finish. Those are amazing odds with an 18 course ocean-only menu! I have photos of everything attached. We started our visit greeted outside the main doors, and were first led into a lounge for our opening Möet and 4 starter bites. We had the "Non Plus Ultra" pairing package which includes more upscale pairings, and they have other packages as well. On the way into the main dining room, we were given a tour of the building - I won't spoil it, but it's got history, and so much character and charm. I WILL give you photos of the menu and the dishes, because as I write this they are 1 week away from closing for the 2025 season, and when they return after the holidays the menu will be completely different from what I am posting. So my photos won't matter, as they won't be repeated - and I'll for sure be returning next year. Lucky me... I live in the same city as the restaurant!
Nikki M — Google review
A top notch experience. Staff were exceptional and food was great as well. Great to see the different ways the ocean can be made into so many delicious dishes. Bummed they didn’t do the salt cooking table side but maybe it’ll make a come back with something new. Came hungry and left full.

First of all, the atmosphere and decorations are amazing, you can't compare with any other restaurants around, so many nice details, it is just great! On the ground floor Gastro Bar is located where you can order from the "tapas" menu or the restaurant menu. On the first floor there is a restaurant where you can order only from the restaurant menu. On the food side, all the tapas from Gastro Bar menu were good quality and tasty and even portions were pretty big. Overall, great experience! UPDATE: We came back multiple times, also we tried the restaurant and all the time our experience was great.

Nestled within the Iberostar Andalucia Playa hotel and just a short stroll from the shimmering sea, Restaurante Cataria is a culinary gem in Chiclana de la Frontera. This charming eatery specializes in mouthwatering charcoal-grilled fish and seafood, ensuring that every bite is infused with rich flavors. What sets it apart is its commitment to freshness; the restaurant boasts its own organic vegetable garden, providing top-notch produce for delightful salads and side dishes.
Cataria is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. The atmosphere is relaxed and elegant. The service is exquisite and the courses are perfectly timed. Each course is balanced, exciting, surprising and flavorful. You can tell that a lot of love is poured into each and every dish. From the inside and outside terrace, you get an ocean view, overlooking the luxurious pool area of the hotel. While enjoying dinner, you can catch a perfect view of the sunset. The dishes are accompanied with freshly baked sourdough bread, still warm. Each dish is paired with an array of local wines. Fernando is the head chef, restaurant manager, supply manager and heart and soul of the restaurant. He himself sources the ingredients locally. The fruit and vegetables are sourced from a local farmer. All fish and seafood is sourced from local fishermen known by name, mainly from the fish market in Conil. Depending on what is caught by the fishermen that day, the menu can vary, which proves the localness and exclusivity of the dishes. I visited the restaurant two times and both times it was a spectacular experience.

Delicious food and a wonderful ambiance. The restaurant is located in five star hotel. We felt the portions were quite small for the price, also prawns smelled a bit fishy. Overall nice experience

It could be do much better. You book with your credit card and if you don’t turn up they charge you €50 per person. We did turn up and getting the feeling they were not listening on leaving I blocked my card. Hey presto, they tried to take several amounts (5) €90 - €93 from my bank account. The service is sporadic, not listening to requests, bringing what they think you’ve ordered not actually what you have. I speak good Spanish but it’s not listened to. The food is good but exceptionally expensive. Not a venue we will be returning to. Don’t need the hassle. It’s meant to be relaxing, it really isn’t.

The restaurant is nothing special overall - not good not bad, but what is disappointing and disgusting is what kind of people work there. We asked them for a simple charger and they all as one said they don’t have one - only when I said in the end of night, that I can’t pay without a charger - they somehow magically found it. Unbelievable what kind of service it even is, so they had that charger just did not want to provide. 0 stars.

Located in the heart of Cadiz near Plaza de la Libertad, Freiduría Cervecería Europa is a popular spot offering a variety of fried seafood, tapas, and traditional dishes like croquettes and dumplings. The portions are generous and offer good value for money. While the seasoning can be on the saltier side, the deep-fried seafood is well-prepared with a crispy exterior and juicy interior.
The food is nice, the fries are super tasty. I recommend the fried prawn. The atmosphere is very chill and clean. There were only old customers talking and sipping, so that was really chill haha. The restaurant staffs are nice and friendly.

We came to this Cerveceria by chance just before siesta and were pleasantly delighted by the tapas. Though the staff did not speak much English, we followed their recommendations and thorough enjoyed the dishes such as the Gambones, Huelva and croquettes.

Super local handout focused on fried seafood of a wide variety. Everything was deep fried, but done well. Juicy in the middle and crunchy on the outside. Portions were also generous, so the 250gm portions are sizeable. Seasoning however, was another matter. I love salt as it is, and I did feel that they were a little heavy here. It overpowered the seafood-ness and also raised my heart rate a fair bit. Had to order another beer and cleans my palate with bread to get over the sodium! Ambiance was clearly local, and a bit annoying with the jackpot machine pinging in the background and clashing with the TV blaring some game show at the same time. Definitely a local join with regulars, and a good place to hit for seafood at an affordable price. Just stand ready to order lots of drinks!

The menu was varied with dozens of options for fish and more delicious seafood. It was unfortunate how there was 1 waiter delegated to handle everyone’s orders so waiting times were understandably longer than the general norm. The chocolate magnum ice cream we had at the end was delicious. Very close to the sea and has an amazing sea view while eating⭐️.

We just stopped for drinks on our beach walk for a glass of Cava and to escape the rain. We saw our glasses on the bar and the bartender was going to pour us 2 glasses. The Mgr. Grabbed it out of his hand and gave him 2 splits of prosecco. Which we did drink because we don't want to be ugly Americans. We got our check and Prosecco is double what a glass of cava is. Just felt he was being Dishonest with the switcheroo. Haven't had a problem anywhere else. Travelers save yourself and go down to Bebo Lo Viento. Staff is competent ,friendly and honest.

Great FRESH seafood, but be prepared to pay for it. 14€ for 5 pawns and 9€ for the salad…? I would say the prices are more in line with somewhere with a beach view and not a dusty road. Place was really good, food was amazing, not only the taste but also the size when ordering tapas! Service was good, just a tiny bit slow in a moment for they were pretty good, also explained that majority, possibly all the menu, was gluten-free, so is just perfect.

Cool to be and see and eat some tapa and drink some whine. Friendly and nice place .I die order some shrimp dish and it was too salty. The wine I did have was soooo bad . 😂 and I mean it in a good way...just a weard wine for my taste. Thanks from me.

Although the weather wasn’t good, but still plenty of people. The food was excellent from the Russian salad to the chocolate mouse and the service was fantastic very friendly and guided me to the nearest ramp access. Thank you. By the way not cheap.

Mirado Donana Restaurant offers a prime location that steals the spotlight – right in front of a mesmerizing sunset sea view. The captivating setting alone is worth a visit. The food and service both fall under the 'okay' category, leaving room for improvement. Perhaps it's the sea breeze that adds a unique touch to the experience. It's worth noting that dinner starting at 9:00 pm offers a chance to embrace a leisurely evening. With the breathtaking sunset as a backdrop, Mirado Donana is a spot where nature's beauty takes center stage. A solid 3.5 stars for its exceptional location and the promise of better things to come.

One star because of the attempted swindling of customers. 70% of the food was okay but several dishes had to be sent back due to being too salty. Im short we received the bill and noticed that we had been charged for 1.5kg Urta instead of 800grams. We brought this to the attention of the waiter and requested to speak to the manager. The waiter returned almost ten minutes later and stated that he mistakenly charged us food from another table. The waiters actions seemed rehearsed.

Scappate! Ladri assoluti. Menu senza prezzo, due gamberoni 51 euro. Da denuncia se non fosse che era a cena ed era tardi. State alla larga. Stay away! Absolute thieves. They Don’t have the price on the menu and Let us pay 51 euros for 2 prawns. We should have called the police but it was late in the night and couldn’t wait. Don’t go!!!

A big disappointment. We ordered dorada fish. It didn't look good when it arrived and didn't taste good so didn't eat it. The waitress said it was cooked with olive oil. We understood that but it was like wet cottonwool. She came back and said it wasn't dorado, so they wouldn't charge us. Nobody came to apologise, and at that price they were trying to get away with dumping fish on unsuspecting 'foreigners'. We live in Spain, so beware of what you're paying for!!
Pip W — Google review
The staff are absolute and utter disgraces to what is normally great Spanish hospitality. Maybe because we were not locals/spanish I'm not sure but there is no excuse to be so rude. I will never return to that place and whoever is in charge should be ashamed of themselves. Completely unacceptable and inappropriate behaviour from all. Absolutely disgusted with the whole experience. Never ever ever shall I return to that hell hole.

After some thought, I have chosen the 1 star rating to express the frustration of feeling outright scammed. The restaurant billed us for almost double the amount of fish that our table was able to eat. They surely got their extra euros from our table but they will not see me there again.

Excellent food, great service, cool location and atmosphere. They don't speak a lick of English but were very accommodating with me and Google. The gambas and garlic starter was exceptional and the whole pargo we shared was very good - very tender and mild but a bit bland. You can see Gibraltar from your table but the location is off the beaten path enough where you can actually park your car nearby and relax with the locals who frequent this elegant beachy place. Cold local draft beer and friendly service were appreciated. Food is pricey but all was very fresh. I'd come back.

(Translated by Google) A few days ago I was here with my family, and the experience was terrible. A truly cool bar that had good tapas at affordable prices has become what all bars have become these days: an armed robbery due to its exorbitant prices and nonexistent quality. We ordered three montaditos and two tapas, and the joke came to €30. If only the tapas had been good... but one of them was a tapa of pavia, and what was on the plate was literally A SLICE OF PAVIA garnished with lettuce, which they charged for €4. And the tapa of goat cheese roll was more of the same: a slice of roll garnished with a billion little bread rolls to disguise it, and which they also charged for €4. Not to mention that they bring bread and breadsticks, and they charge you for it even if you didn't order it or touch it. I find it disappointing that a bar that's been around forever, where you could enjoy luxurious tapas, a neighborhood bar without the grand tapas luxuries or nonsense we have today, has sunk to such a low standard. I realized it later because the terrace was deserted in the middle of August... because people aren't stupid. And if you do this kind of thing to your clientele, you're left feeling like you're ALONE!

Restaurante MARA Sotogrande - Pto. is a superb eatery with amiable and accommodating staff. While their English proficiency may be limited, they are eager to learn Spanish to communicate effectively. The restaurant boasts an outstanding assortment of sea food and paella, all of which is exceptionally appetizing. The portion sizes are notably generous, ensuring diners leave satisfied. Although the wine selection is somewhat restricted, it remains reasonably priced.

We managed to get a table on Thursday night only because, as tourists, we tend to dine earlier than the locals—otherwise, we wouldn’t have been so lucky. Reservations here are a must! The restaurant is set in a quaint little square with a small fountain that creates a soothing background sound. I found the location charming, and since there was almost no car traffic, it felt calm and relaxed. Service was very attentive, even though there were a few minor misunderstandings along the way. As for the food—every dish we tried was excellent. The red tuna sashimi melted in our mouths, the sardines served over a crisp salad wedge made for a wonderfully balanced starter, and the red prawns were as fresh as it gets—absolutely delicious. The sea bass as our main course was perfectly prepared and filling. All in all, a fantastic experience. Wishing all the best to this restaurant and its team!

This was the second time in this restaurant. We came again becsuse we liked it the first time we was there. But this time is was not good. Why I'm giving one star only? Because there is no zero stars. Here are the negative points We went there 2 days ago to make the reservation in person and chose the table we like. When we came in today that table was already taken by some other customers and the stuff even didn't apologize for it. I ordered a Fanta and it came in open in a wine glass so it was even less than 250ml One of the plates has a big cut. That's a no go for an expensive restaurant. The already high prices in the menue are without iva (tax) so you have to add 10 to 21 percent on top. So the owner is afraid to show the real prices because then they are more high as they already are. They forgot to bring one of the starters and when they brought it it was so late so the main course came nearly same time. All the mains was warm or nearly cold. All that and the restaurant was even not half full. Waiters was standing at the bar doing nothing. At the end we didn't like to order dessert or coffee. The bill was 150 euro for 3 people. We will not go there again. Sorry.

Seafood restaurant
Spanish restaurant
Located in the heart of "The Pearl of the South," this seafood restaurant is a must-visit for food enthusiasts. The menu features a variety of local seafood dishes, including fish, shrimp, and octopus, all served in generous portions and prepared with fresh ingredients. The inviting atmosphere adds to the dining experience, making it an ideal spot to savor authentic Spanish cuisine. Guests praise the gracious host and recommend trying specialties like seafood paella for an unforgettable taste of Spain.
Best and freshest seafood we have experienced so far. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Ask for 'suggestions' and you will never be disappointed. We'll be back whenever in the area.

This must be the best seafood restaurant in La Linea! Every time we had very good food and the service is 5 stars! Definitely worth trying Mariscada Planca, it has a mix of seafood including lobster

I’ve visited La Perla a couple of times, and it’s always busy due to its popularity. The service is good, and the seafood is pretty tasty, though the prices are quite high. Last time, I opted for some fried items for takeout, and they didn’t disappoint. Overall, it’s a solid choice if you’re willing to spend a bit more for quality seafood.

The sea food is extraordinary , definitely recommended !!!! The atmosphere is like in a usual good Spanish place , crowded and noisy 😄 We ordered coquinas , pulpo, and warm salad con ceso de cabra 🐐

Roberto is a gracious host. Delicious fish and chips, calamari is perfectly cooked, opens after 8pm for dinner. Aperitif was recommended and was a fantastic conclusion to a wonderful meal.

We drove here about an hour because the food is usually good. Upon opening we entered and the entire restaurant smelled like piss. Apparently some dog or human pissed inside of the restaurant in the corner. The staff didn’t care and the cleaning lady didn’t bother either. Smelled like piss because someone pissed in the corner over and out. Staff was indifferent, no apologies no shame, nothing. Never again

Absolutely disgusting. One star is even too much. As my colleague already wrote, we arrived at 1pm upon opening and someone took a piss inside the restaurant. The entire restaurant stenched of piss and the staff didn't care. Upon telling them that someone relieved themselves by the tables, the cleaning lady just indifferently smeared the piss with a mop across the floor. No shame, no sorry no nothing. Two hours of driving just wasted. Never again

(Translated by Google) Incredible place, very good food, great service and if it's the octopus I didn't have time to take a photo... the cheesecake was the best I've ever eaten. I certainly recommend it. (Original) Increíble el sitio la comida muy buena, la atención genial y si es el pulpo no tiempo me dio de hacerle foto.. la tarta de queso la mejor que me e comido. Desde luego lo recomiendo.

(Translated by Google) Very good establishment I ate boquerones al limón I enjoyed myself and the rest of my family ate quite large almejas and pulpo con cebolla as well as a ración de freiduría which was excellent only problem they don't have any coffee machine and therefore big disappointment because we were not able to have coffee after this good meal which is why I did not give 5 stars but special mention to the waitress who offered us a small liqueur which we we did not take because of driving a vehicle (Original) Très bon établissement j'ai mangé des boquerones al limón je me suis régalé et le reste de ma famille on mangé des almejas assez grosse et du pulpo con cebolla ainsi qu'une ración de freiduría qui était excellente seul souci ils n'ont pas de machine à café et donc grosse déception car nous n'avons pas pu prendre de café après ce bon repas c'est pour ça que je n'ai pas mis 5 étoiles mais mention spéciale à la serveuse qui nous a proposé une petite liqueur que nous n'avons pas pris pour cause de conduite de véhicule

(Translated by Google) Good Restaurant and Taperia in the city center with good facilities and good atmosphere. Very complete and varied menu in general based on quality products. I don't give it 5 * because we ordered a Moussaka tapa and since we didn't have it, they offered us Lasagna which we accepted and it was a mistake, since this was a reheated and burnt leftover - see photo. Acceptable quality/price - See ticket. Calidad/Precio aceptable- Ver tique. Recomendable al 80%

(Translated by Google) This summer it has been difficult for me to eat there because it was always full so I decided to go on a Saturday to have lunch quite early so I could try it. I liked it a lot, there is variety on the menu and the tapas are very well served, they look like half portions👌🏻 Great service and very well priced.

(Translated by Google) Magnificent. We'd never been before and we loved it. The shrimp salad was spectacular, the Russian salad, the lemon anchovies, and the pink salad were excellent. The waitress was very attentive despite the restaurant being packed. We'll definitely return to try the octopus, as she told us it wasn't in season and they only buy fresh octopus.

(Translated by Google) Terrible service. There was almost nothing to eat, and the waiters were smoking instead of finishing serving the tables. The food was partly cold and partly hot, the pink and the tears of pink or something like that, some cold and some hot (from having taken leftovers from other dishes and put them on ours). It took an hour and a half to be seated and another hour and a bit to finish serving. Wrong order, missing plates... In short, a total disaster. (Original) Servicio nefasto . Comanda equivocada, faltaban platos.... En fin un desastre total.

(Translated by Google) The service is horrible: more than an hour for the order to be served. It took them about 15 minutes to come to order drinks and, to our polite request for the menu (which was neither there nor expected) the waitress responded, in a somewhat relaxed tone, "patience!". On. The portions are very limited. The cod in tomato was saltier than a gulp of water from the east. Three waiters for 70 or more diners. The noise inside the place makes your head hurt 2 minutes after sitting down. Well, what do you want me to tell you, there is a lot of offer and of much higher quality.

(Translated by Google) Some friends took me there, and I'll definitely be back. The service was fast and excellent, even though they were busy. They never lost their smiles and were incredibly professional. The food was excellent, and the presentation was very good.
