Coffee shop
Shoe Lane Coffee is a charming café in Dun Laoghaire that offers a warm and inviting atmosphere, making it the ideal spot for a relaxing afternoon. The café serves strong and well-balanced coffee, along with delicious pastries and sausage rolls. Visitors can also enjoy their famous Aztec Hot Chocolate, which features honey, chili, and cocoa powder. Additionally, the café's 'coffee on black' concept has been praised as an effective marketing strategy.
Went there for an evening pastry & they had plenty of options. We got the Pistachio & Cranberry one, plus the Espresso & Hazelnut. Both were Tea Cakes, priced at €4,20 each. The cake was moist, unfortunately not filled in the middle, but still very yummy!! The cream on top of both was super tasty and we highly recommend! :) Staff was nice and they gave us plenty of time to decide which ones we wanted.

Last summer, I treated myself to a solo breakfast at Shoe Lane Coffee in Dún Laoghaire. It was one of those gentle mornings—bright but not glaring, with a breeze that hinted at the sea just down the road. I sat by the window with a hot breakfast and a perfectly made coffee, and for the first time in a while, didn’t feel the need to be anywhere else. There’s something comforting about watching the world move while you’re still. From my seat, I had the perfect view of the town slowly waking up—people heading to work, parents guiding sleepy children, dog-walkers pausing to chat. All of it flowed by like a calm tide. The breakfast itself was simple but hearty—fresh, warm, and satisfying. The atmosphere inside was cozy but not too busy, just a soft hum of background music and the occasional hiss of the espresso machine. It felt like the right place to be alone without feeling lonely. I didn’t rush. I let the moment stretch out, sipping slowly and just observing. That morning reminded me how grounding it can be to pause, to look around, and to appreciate the little rhythms of everyday life.

Was excited to try the pastries but unfortunately disappointing. The croissant was a strange oversized shape, and tasted like a long life sweet bread. Didn’t taste like baked same day or a typical croissant. First pic is Shoe Lane croissant and second pic is same croissant next to another one from near by at same price (which was decent taste and texture). If the croissants have such low standards, I won’t be back for any other menu item👎
Brian M — Google review
I’ve gotten a hot chocolate here before and it was really nice, but today I opted for a chai latte and it was really disappointing. I can’t decide whether it was more like doing the cinnamon challenge with every sip or inhaling a whole spice cupboard, but either way it was not enjoyable at all.
Sadbh A — Google review
My favourite cafe in Dun Laoghaire so far. Delicious coffee, toasts with ham and cheese, sugar-free oat cookies etc. The huge window facing the bus stop lets you peacefully watch someone else’s busy life while enjoying your cup of coffee. Very friendly staff. I begin my day here! And the interior looks unusual and very cozy.
Natalya E — Google review
Love the ambience of this place inside and out, DL is my happy place and this coffee shop is smack in the middle of it. I was so happy to try their matcha latte and it didn’t disappoint We tried the carrot cake and chia raspberry cake, both amazingly delicious. Their hot chocolate for me is a hit or miss all the time. Clean toilet also. Love their indoor lights and big windows, very cozy. Highly recommended and want to come back again!
Karthika N — Google review
The Shoe Lane coffee spot has a great variety of food from sweet and savory. Very cozy and very convenient as its located in front of the bus. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Although can be crowded on weekends but on a sunny day there is plenty of space outside.
Gresilda H — Google review
Nice little coffee shop in Dun Laoghaire. Coffee was good, they had a few pastry options and good seating facing the main road. The raspberry lemon cake was average, a bit too dense for my liking.

Le Chocolat de Frèd in Dublin is renowned for its exquisite hot chocolates, made with luxurious Belgian chocolate that creates a decadent and indulgent drink. In addition to the classic hot chocolate, they offer options like hazelnut or vegan hot chocolate, topped with whipped cream, marshmallows, and various unique flavorings. The café also serves delightful crepes with mouth-watering fillings and French Galettes featuring Irish sausage, creme fraiche, and mustard.
Wow. Just wow. The waffle is incredible. So soft, melt in the mouth. Chocolate on top is better than Nutella. Crepe is also excellent. As the missus said: “these are the best waffles i ever had”…. And she is a picky one…. (Correction from her “excuse me I’m just a foodie”) Take it from me, this was amazing 🤩 Thank you 🙏🏻 what a blast. 💥
Dan — Google review
I LOOOOOOOVE THE HOT CHOCOLATE HERE! The chocolate tasted rich and good value for money! Definitely recommend its signature! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 However, it was quite difficult to get a spot in the cafe since the seats were limited and full when we were there. ✌️

Le Chocolat de Frèd in Dún Laoghaire is a cozy French-style café known for its decadent crêpes, rich melted chocolate, and smooth coffee. With friendly service and a warm atmosphere, it’s a sweet escape by the sea and perfect for indulgence or a relaxed catch-up.
Mustafa — Google review
The ice cream has a rich milky flavor, but the crepe is best enjoyed quickly. The wind by the sea was so strong that it flipped my crepe over halfway through!
Gabi — Google review
Decided to try this coffee shop, I ordered a waffle with chocolate and strawberries, it was vey tasty but I feel they could be more generous with the strawberries tho… aside from that, Coffee was good and the staff were friendly.
Carolina S — Google review
I wouldnt know what the food tastes like because we never got a chance to taste it. Complete waste of time. Arrived at 4.35pm to be told they weren't serving crepes or waffles after 4.30pm. Having travelled 30 minutes after work to get there before 5pm.
Ciara M — Google review
I have visited this Chocolaterie three times, sometimes with friends, and other times with my family and children, and every time, everyone leaves extremely happy. It's not just the experience and the service, but especially the taste of the treats we order. I am a big fan of their crepes and waffles, while my kids can't get enough of their ice creams. On our last visit, we ordered two different flavoured ice creams and three milkshakes. Everything was incredibly delicious, everyone loved their treats, and we all left with big smiles. I can't wait for my next trip to Dun Laoghaire so I can stop by this incredible place again.
Sonia G — Google review
€4.50 for the worlds smallest hot chocolate without cream or marshmallows included. If you want to take out a loan to afford a mediocre hot chocolate please consider visiting this place. Putting a down payment on my house would have been cheaper. I could taste my credit card debt mixed in with the overpriced organic milk. Its ironic a charity shop is situated across the road because after purchasing from here it appears I may have to shop there after this experience.

Cafe
The Sunshine Café & Restaurant is a hidden gem located in the heart of Dun Laoghaire, offering a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The menu features homemade pasta, artisan pizzas, sandwiches, and homely soups. Guests can also indulge in authentic Tiramisu for dessert. The restaurant has a secret garden at the rear where diners can enjoy their meals. Visitors have praised the fresh and exceptional quality of dishes such as pizza, creamy mushroom soup, and chicken and mushroom pasta.
We ordered the bruschetta to start, the mushroom and chicken pasta and the margarita pizza for our mains, and finished with the carrot cake, almond and pear cake and it was all delicious. The staff were very friendly and the food was flavorful. Lots of options on the menu that lend towards Italian cooking. The dessert are homemade and well worth a taste. We will definitely be coming back!
Hannah H — Google review
I will give them 5 stars even they can improve some things. Food was excellent, home-made omlette, home-made beef burger, both really perfect. Sweets are not home-made but excellent as well and I highly recommend apply pie. I appreciate they were honest to say that sweets are not home-made. Lady who was serving food was super friendly, nice and kind. Even it was only us and we were not in any rush, we were wanting for drinks and food too long. This place could be better cleaned (table cloth and all around) but food was so good, and music was so nice, that we forgot other things.
Luisa F — Google review
So sad to Say that! The food and service were nice, but the cleaning was terrible. Also, inside and in the garden, and in the toilet, the tables were dirty, and the toilet had paper on everyone. But I had a great time there and appreciated the rain garden with nice wine and pasta
Jean S — Google review
The food was below average. The lasagna had an unpleasant aftertaste, I've had better from the freezer aisle. Nice chips. The chicken salad came with dry, but flavorful chicken, and the accompanying toasted bread was both tasteless and tooth-shatteringly hard. The dining area was unclean, with dirty tables, greasy cutlery, water-stained glasses, and a grimy floor. Although the waitress provided reasonable service, I was left waiting so long to pay that I eventually had to go to the cash desk myself.
David K — Google review
The fish wasn’t fresh, it had a fishy smell and a strange taste. When I ate it, it tasted unpleasant. The bread was very hard.
Kitiya Y — Google review
I had my first visit to Sunshine Cafe for lunch takeaway. The staffs were very friendly and courteous. They walked me through options and suggested Chef's special. Also was engaged in a casual chat with one of the Staff as I was waiting for my order. They know well to keep customers warm and welcomed. Coming to the food quality, everything I ordered was very well cooked, delicious and securely packed. Recently tried in-house dining and the experience was good.

Ok food. Not the cleanest place with ok service. You get what you pay for. Prices are moderate for the food you receive. Service and staff are a little rude especially when dealing with older customers which are 85% of their customers. Atmosphere feels old and run down. Nice to have a tea with friends but there are definitely better spots in Dun Laoghaire for breakfast. Edit: the quality of food is getting worse. Black/white pudding taste off and under cooked. Chips are bland and soaked in oil. Dirty cutlery. I will not be returning
Amy — Google review
Good value for money. Fast and efficient service. The food is ok, so is the atmosphere inside.
Dzmitry Y — Google review
I’ve been eyeing this little place everytime i’m in Dun Laoghaire and took the chance for a quick lunch here. The cafe always very busy and true enough, it was busy again. The servers were all very prompt and friendly eventhough they were swamped with work. I got my cappacino quickly and my lunch omelettew with a side salad. The portion was huge! Tasty overall though in the end one customer seated next to me pointed out the mold on a side of one of the sodabread slices. The server was apologetic and offered another slice of bread. The cakes look amazing from where i was seated but i was way too stuffed to have a slice. Prices were reasonable and i would definitely come back here again for a quick cup of coffee and a sandwich. The cafe’s atmosphere is definitely more nostalgic (which was what drew me in in the first place). If you’re looking for a modern hip cafe, this place isn’t for you. If you’re looking for a quick easy lunch and a nice simple place for comfort food, give Gourmet cafe a try.

First time I've ever had to write a bad review. Normally I would not bother but in this occasion it is a MUST! I ordered a small breakfast and supplement it. But asked for an extra sausage and rasher . When my food came I got beans 1 rasher and 1 sasagues. I grabbed the lady's attention in which she grabbed my plate and hurried away ,not even apologising for the confusion . To which I got 1 sausage. That's not what bothered me at all. What bothered me is the way the lady looked at me with disgust and made me feel horrible. Also my rasher was gone off . I will NOT be returning to this place . It used to be one of my favourite places, But this is NOT the first time this kind of thing has happened here. 😕

This is a little gem of a restaurant . Very good quality food and so very well priced considering it is in Dun Laoighaire. I would recommend this place for food all day long.

Pizza restaurant
Zero Zero Pizza in Dun Laoghaire is a popular spot known for its delicious wood-fired pizzas. The cozy restaurant, located just a short walk from the train station, has gained a reputation for serving some of the best pizza in Dublin. Since 2014, Zero Zero Pizza has been delighting locals and visitors with authentic Pizza Napoletana. Originally starting out in a gazebo in Dublin Docklands, it has now found a permanent home on Patrick Street.
This charming Italian restaurant offers delicious pizzas, warm service, and a cozy atmosphere that feels authentically inviting. While the prices are on the higher side—a trend across Ireland, likely due to rising taxes and rental costs—the experience is well worth it. Dun Laoghaire itself is a must-visit destination, and this pizza spot is a perfect place to enjoy a meal in one of Ireland's most delightful areas.
Michael L — Google review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amazing Neapolitan pizza in Dublin! Zero Zero Pizza in Dún Laoghaire is hands down one of the best pizza spots I’ve tried in Ireland. The dough is light, airy, and perfectly charred, just like in Naples. The Margherita D.O.P. is simple but absolutely delicious, and the Gorgonzola & Walnut white pizza was a surprising favourite—creamy, nutty, and so flavourful! The place has a cosy, rustic vibe, and the staff are friendly. It gets busy, so I’d recommend booking ahead. If you’re a pizza lover, this spot is a must-visit! 🍕🔥
Celine C — Google review
Really tasty pizza here. We got several to try and couldn't fault any of them. Staff were polite and attentive. Two pizzas came out over 5 to 10 minutes before the others, which wasn't great as we were waiting until everyone had been served before eating. But apart from this, everything was great. Dips are pricey at €2.50, house wine €8 per glass. Pizzas range from €17 to €20 for 12"
Richie — Google review
Small cozy place with lovely staff, very warm and relaxing atmosphere. Pizza was really good ,pizza dough really top range and all ingredients so tasty.amazing.
Nino H — Google review
We had really nice pizzas here and were served by very friendly staff. Highly recommend to all pizza fans!
Phai D — Google review
Had a good first experience. Quattro Formaggi was really good. The only offputting thing was the 10% service charge they added for a table of 2 that's mentioned nowhere. The prices on the menu also didn't include tax. I don't understand why an already expensive pizza joint would use such deceptive pricing practices.
Muhammad M — Google review
I recently visited Zero Zero Wood Fire Pizza, hoping for a delightful pizza experience, but unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. The main issue was the dough, which is, after all, the foundation of any good pizza. While the service was decent and the ambiance pleasant enough, the disappointing burnt dough made it hard to fully appreciate the meal. Although acutely aware that my review is based on preference hope the establishment considers revisiting their dough preparation methods, as this could greatly improve their offerings. Until then, I’d hesitate to return or recommend to fellow pizza enthusiasts.
Mc0j0cm — Google review
We arrived around 7.45 on a Thursday, there weren't any seats available. We ordered two pizzas and a coke for takeaway. It took about 25 mins. Our main issue was the service. Firstly, they forgot to give us the drink we had paid for. Then we walked all the way down to the seafront to find the pizzas weren't even cut. We returned to the premises to ask them to be cut, a poor effort was given in resolving the issue and no one apologized which would have been appreciated. Despite the poor service, we did enjoy the pizza and imagine it would better warm!

Food was amazing!! Had the salmon bowl and it was light and full flavored. Hazel was a server and we had a really large group, and did a fabulous job. She even gave us some great recommendations on what to do in the area.

Visited this spot for brunch the other week and had a really lovely experience. The service was very good, despite it being quite busy. Coffee and food were great and arrived quickly. I had asked to modify their pancake dish and it wasn’t a problem at all (which was really nice because I was craving bacon and maple syrup pancakes all morning!) and my partner got the buttermilk chicken burger. I really enjoyed my meal, but he was a little bit disappointed with the size of the chicken, as it was a little flat for its price. Other than that we had a very positive dining experience!
Nat — Google review
Our server was very friendly, the lady who seated us not so. Food was tasty and portions were good. The kids menu was good but in other branches we got crayons and colouring in to do. Juice was only €2 so that was appreciated since our daughter had two.
D — Google review
Very mediocre to be honest, expected a nice meal but sadly it was pretty bad. Ordered two drinks (Apple Pie Lemonade) and a coke, both never arrived. When we chased it up they said they'd investigate and 10 minutes later still no drinks! We ate our food for 40 minutes without a drink! €7 for homemade lemonade also feels a little steep, maybe €4-5? I'm used to high prices but a little brutal.. Food was quite mediocre, slightly cold and taste wise it was just really alright. Felt kind of like food from frozen, not fresh whatsoever. Bland. Service was equally mediocre, nice staff but they seemed underwater with orders and seemed too shy to ask what drinks we ordered (I presume they forgot)? They also were quite inattentive. Overall we paid for two breakfasts that were just okay, and the two drinks we ordered still remain a mystery to this day...(We spent 40 minutes for a pair of soft drinks that never came lol)
Joshua A — Google review
The food was okay, but the service was disappointing. We ordered for delivery and were told it would take around 25 minutes, but it ended up being over 50. They brought one order of 5 calamari and the focaccia in under 20 minutes, but the rest of the food (a second 5 calamari and a pizza) took forever. When we asked for a refund due to the delay, the food suddenly came out. The girl who seemed to be the hostess was really rude — she just said "these things happen" and walked away while I was still talking. Overall, a frustrating experience, especially because of the poor customer service. Not planning to order again. Paid a total of: 28’50
Marina T — Google review
Oh dear. This breakfast was very disappointing. Not a single thing on the plate (kickstart breakfast) was seasoned. The poached eggs I assume are batch cooked and put on ice, they were at least 30 seconds undercooked on the inside, the yolk completely detached from the white in a watery yellow goop and the outside was rubbery- not edible. The potato cake was over cooked. The toast was not toasted. For the quality, the price was not justified. The coffee was very good but overall I’m not encouraged to return…
Ruth G — Google review
Want breakfast? Go here. It's as simple as that. Best in Dun Laoghiare by a mile. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and I'm not just saying that. Most restaurants tend to shell out breakfast after breakfast at mediocre quality, not here. You can tell they put real effort in. I'm a big guy and it was genuinely so filling. The restaurant itself is beautiful, cosy yet spacious, homely yet tacky. The staff are excellent, super polite and friendly. Attentive but not intrusive and the service is perfectly timed! You're not waiting half an hour for the bill or food. I loved my experience here and will 100% be back many times.
Vince P — Google review
Been frequenting this restaurant for many years and they've never let me down. I'm mostly a brunch person but called in this evening and they're back doing Tapas, under the guise of "small plates" to say it was perfect is an understatement. Had 2 dishes, 1 was like a mini pizza 🍕 that I'd had a craving for but didn't want a full one. Perfect size and absolutely delicious. 2nd dish was a stuffed mushroom, it was so tasty. Only thing I was surprised at was the lack of people availing of this delicious food at a great price. I hope the word gets out because I love this place. The service and the chefs have been here for years and are always friendly and welcoming. A shout out to Hazel! A true gem of a place! Love GFP!

Located in the picturesque seaside area of Dun Laoghaire, it presents a diverse menu featuring street food-style dishes such as Aloo Tikki and pork chatpata, along with an extensive selection of vegetarian and vegan options.
One of the best restaurants in Dublin . The food Is exquisite and the service is so good . My husband booked a table for us for my birthday and I was so grateful he picked this place cause the food was delicious, service was 10/10 and the owner was so good . We will definitely visit again and I am so exited to try other dishes the next time . The thaali is 10/10 for its taste and presentation as well . The best birthday dinner I have had in ages 😊😊

Went here with a bunch of friends, overall really nice food and vibe. We got a booth seating so was very comfortable with a group of 7 people giving semi-private feels. I did find the portions really small for curry, but the taste was good for all the veg and non veg that we ordered.

Great coeliac options. The sauces are delicious and well balanced. The staff are so kind, friendly and efficient. The atmosphere is busy without being noisy. You can talk comfortably and you're not rushed out. However, the food portions are a little on the small side and they really lack vegetables, otherwise it would be 10/10.

A Culinary Gem for Indians and Irish in Ireland If you’re craving an authentic taste of India that appeals equally to Indian expats and Irish locals, look no further than Rasam, a true celebration of flavours, hospitality, and warmth. ### **A Menu That Traverses India** One of the standout features of is its expansive menu, which offers a delightful journey across India's diverse culinary heritage. From the creamy, comforting Butter Chicken to the fiery chatpata pork, the meaty delights like Lamb Rogan Josh are some of my favourites. For Irish guests new to Indian cuisine, the knowledgeable staff is always happy to recommend dishes that balance flavour and spice. ### **Fresh Ingredients, Exceptional Taste** The freshness of the ingredients shines through in every bite. Whether it’s the aromatic basmati rice, the perfectly spiced gravies, or the soft, freshly baked naans, every dish feels like it has been crafted with care and attention. The flavors are authentic yet not overwhelming, making it an excellent spot for those exploring Indian cuisine for the first time. ### **Impeccable Hospitality** Hospitality is at the heart of the experience here. The staff are warm, attentive, and genuinely eager to ensure every guest feels welcome. Whether it’s customizing a dish to your spice preference or offering insightful recommendations, their dedication to excellent service sets this restaurant apart. ### **Cleanliness and Comfort** The restaurant itself is spotlessly clean, from the dining area to the washrooms. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between modern elegance and subtle Indian decor, creating a space where you can relax and enjoy your meal. ### **A True Culinary Bridge** Rasam has managed to bridge the cultural gap beautifully, offering Indian expats a taste of home while introducing Irish locals to the wonders of Indian cuisine. It’s a place where families, friends, and food lovers come together to share not just a meal but an experience. Whether you’re an Indian longing for a nostalgic meal or an Irish food enthusiast seeking to explore new flavours, Rasam promises an unforgettable dining experience. Highly recommended!

My husband and I were visiting Dun Laoghaire for his birthday and booked a table at Rasam for our last night there to enjoy some delicious Indian cuisine. From the moment we walked into this beautiful restaurant, Mr. Lakshmi and his team gave us a friendly, warm welcome. He was very helpful in suggesting dishes and accomodating our taste preferences. Every dish we ordered that evening was unique with fresh ingredients and full of flavor. I loved the palak patta chaat, with its combination of flavors, and the mango prawn were cooked perfectly. At the end of our meal,  the friendly staff brought over a dessert to celebrate my husband's birthday, and a cup of masala Chai tea that Mr. Lakshmi had made for me when I'd mentioned earlier how much I missed it from our trip to India a few years ago. Their attention to detail meant so much and was truly appreciated. Before we left, we shared with Mr. Nisheeth how much we'd enjoyed the evening, and how we wished there was a restaurant like this where we live in Florida that we could enjoy more often. He surprised us with a visit to their kitchen and introduced us to the chefs and staff. They showed us how they made one of our favorites, the peshawari naan and even gifted us with some of it to take for breakfast the next day. All of them made our evening so special, and it isn't surprising that this restaurant was awarded "best in all Ireland world cuisine" - so well deserved!

An Unforgettable Culinary Experience! Rasam is hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Dublin. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and an elegant ambiance that immediately set the tone for a special evening. The food? Absolutely phenomenal. Every dish we ordered was bursting with authentic Indian flavors, perfectly balanced spices, and beautiful presentation. The lamb rogan josh melted in the mouth, and the prawn curry was rich and aromatic. The naan was soft and fresh out of the tandoor – just perfection. What really sets Rasam apart is the attention to detail and the passion you can taste in every bite. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely seemed to care that we were having a great time. Whether you're a connoisseur of Indian cuisine or trying it for the first time, Rasam is a must-visit. It's not just a meal – it’s an experience. We’ll absolutely be back!

I was there with two Indian colleagues. I got mild spicy and it was amazing and delicious. I took the typical indian food tasting option. Everything was great but the mango prawns were really the best.

Cafe
La Dolce Italia is a delightful Italian restaurant nestled on Patrick Street in Dun Laoghaire, Dublin. As you enter, the inviting ambiance wraps around you like a warm hug, making it feel like home right away. The dedicated staff are passionate about their craft, and this enthusiasm is evident in every dish they serve. This hidden gem offers freshly filled cannoli made to order and features an intimate dining space perfect for weekday lunches or cozy weekend dinners.
We've only been there for dinner once but La Dolce Italia is already a great candidate to be the best Italian restaurant in Dublin. The fact that it's not exactly in Dublin makes it even more interesting. I had been there once 2 years ago to grab a dessert before heading to a concert. I was impressed by how they prepared us cannoli. Fresh, in the moment, asking us what topping we wanted and taking it from the same containers a grandma would use (to me, one of the highest compliments when it comes to Italian cuisine). While we were waiting for the cannoli to be made, someone took a big loaf of bread out of the oven and greeted it with "Vieni qui bello di papà" (which roughly translates to "come here, my dear sweet boy"). I knew that I was in a magical place. It took us a long time to go back there for dinner and we did it with the same friends we ordered cannoli with. The staff was very gentle already over the phone while we were booking. They then welcomed us on the day and gave us a spacious table. The starter of charcuterie was good but the artichokes with Parmesan were super. All the pasta mains sounded interesting and I couldn't choose what to order. As I finally managed to shortlist 2 options, I asked without much hope if they could have prepared me a bis (something quite common in Italy) and give me 2 half portions in the same plate. They immediately said "no problem"! One of the few times in 10 years in Ireland that I am told so!! I had therefore a chance to try 4 mains (2 from me and 2 from the other guests) and they were all really real good. I admit I didn't dare try the tiramisu as I had literally prepared it the night before (and I am quite proud of my own recipe) but the one they served to our friends looked very interesting. I loved that they had sweet wine, one of my favorite ways to end a dinner.

Great fresh pasta. The restaurant has a very homely feel to it, coupled with the comforting food makes it an ideal spot for a relaxing meal out. Can't wait to come back!
Sam W — Google review
Small restaurant with a nice pergola, covered by a little vineyard- it’s beautiful and a nice atmosphere to relax and enjoy the food. The menu is compact, but they also have the daily specials to add to the menu. Considering the cozy/small environment I would encourage booking in advance. The food was good, but not amazing (to me). I had one of the specials and was really disappointed with the size of the dish and the taste. Compared with the other dishes we ordered - and considering the price of it - I would defo expect something more generous and remarkable. I would expect a bit more consistency across the different dishes.
DANIELA S — Google review
What a wonderful experience at this place for our last night in Ireland. The service was excellent, and the food was even better. The pastas are so fresh with incredible flavor and the tiramisu was one of the best I’ve ever had. It is very apparent the chefs here take a lot of pride in making their food. I would highly recommend you check this place out if you are in the area!

This place is an absolute hidden gem. It serves the most delicious Italian food, made from fresh ingredients and prepared to perfection. Prices are reasonable, service is stunning, and the setting is cozy—it's impossible to flaw this place on anything! 100% recommend it & most definitely will be back soon!
Kateřina M — Google review
I visited the restaurant three times, and it was always packed. When I finally managed to snag a seat, I thought, “I hope it lives up to my expectations—because when you crave something so much, you’re often disappointed.” And it did not disappoint—it was simply delicious! The restaurant specializes in pasta, so you can expect nothing less than fresh, flavorful dishes, complemented by outstanding service and a friendly staff. The interior is charming, featuring an open kitchen at the entrance and a cozy dining area in the back. The only minor critique was that I would have enjoyed some cheese on the onion soup, but aside from that, everything was perfect.

Nestled in the heart of Dun Laoghaire, Insomnia Coffee Company @ Meadows And Byrne is a charming café that beckons to travelers and locals alike. Just a stone's throw from the Dart Train station, this cozy spot offers an inviting atmosphere perfect for unwinding with a cup of their fair-trade coffee or indulging in some delightful pastries. The café seamlessly blends with the adjacent Meadows & Byrne Homestore, creating a unique shopping and dining experience.
Hopped off the Dart Train and saw Insomnia as we were starting our walk down the Coastal Trail so popped in for a coffee. Cute little place attached to Meadows & Byrne The Homestore. Didn’t get food but pastries and toasties looked good. As I wandered through the store I saw people trying to coax a fox out of the store. Not something you see everyday, an urban fox! He was not skittish at all. Guess he just wanted a pick me up too!

Insomnia Coffee in Dún Laoghaire is a true gem for coffee lovers. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a delicious cup of coffee. What truly sets this Insomnia apart is the impeccable management. Everything runs smoothly and efficiently, from the friendly and attentive baristas to the clean and well-maintained space. It's clear that a lot of care goes into ensuring a positive customer experience. Whether you're grabbing a quick latte on the go or settling in for a longer chat with friends, Insomnia Coffee provides a consistently high-quality experience. Highly recommended!

The renovated interior looks good but the staff is lazy. There's three of them and tables are still dirty, floor messy and the guests have to clean the tables/chairs themselves! Who does that to a customer?? Shame. Coffee, location and the interior are the only good things but everything else is 0. And no music? That's absurd and terrible. And the worst part? The fact that the customer has to do everything themselves, while the three of them (staff) are walking around carefree. Who are you making a fool? Huge shame on you. It's a small place, easy to keep clean.

Raspberry scone was really good! Coffee sizes are big. We ordered small oatmilk lattes.
G H — Google review
This place is open earlier than other coffee shops in the area, but it’s dark inside and gloomy when the adjacent furniture shop is closed. I asked the size of the small coffee and they showed me a paper cup—the ceramic mug they delivered it in was several ounces smaller. I was disappointed but didn’t make a scene. I clearly cared what size it was when I ordered.

Found staff at Insomnia Dun Laoghaire cold. A forced greeting with no warm and inviting smile. A bad atmosphere and a not satisfying service. A lot had to do with my darker skin. Wish they could look beyond skin color and give great service to every paying customer. The only positive thing about the experience was my coffee. Not going back there though.

Display with pastries name are not matching the product displayed (I ordered one and served with another). Information available on internet for this Insomnia branch are not same as it should be as per An Post Eircode details. There is missing a bit better work of air -conditioning inside the premises. Organization of products in refrigerator is very badly and very badly presented to customers.

Best spice bag I’ve ever had! Ordered a spice bag here today and it honestly was so delicious. Went for the first time, drink was completely flat food was decent but over priced for the portion size. Not fault to the owners but 8 free booths and a three grown adults and one screaming child decided to come right down the back and sit directly across from us which completely ruined the experience. I get it’s open to everyone but if there’s plenty of free booths and the lane is tight enough rather than having a group of loud people within a meter when your trying to eat, please if you have a screaming child allow others to have space and enjoy their meal !
Kevin B — Google review
A small chipper that serves good food with a great smile. Very possibly the best doner kebab in dublin. Better than the franchise outlets. With a good selection of milkshakes and ice creams. I came here once when I worked in the area but I kept coming back and will drop in whenever I’m in the area. Not exactly a tourist attraction or a restaurant I would recommend for a fancy dinner. But if you were strolling about Dun Laoghrie and looking for a quick bite/takeaway/milkshake/ice cream cone, this would be the place.

Cafe
Strudel Artisan Bakery in Dublin has become a beloved destination for pastry enthusiasts, offering an impressive array of delectable creations from sourdough bread to buttery croissants. The bakery's exceptional craftsmanship and dedication have earned it the title of Bakery of the Year at the Independent Retail Awards. Despite its popularity, eager customers are willing to queue up early in the morning to secure their favorite treats before they sell out.
One of the best sourdough in Dublin for sure. Worth the price you pay as it goes for 6 which for this location is reasonable more than enough. We will be back to buy more. Lady on the phone in the morning very helpful. Thank you so much!

Surpassed my expectations truly! This bakery needs to be higher up on the places to go for pastries in Dublin!! I picked up the hazelnut twist and the ham & cheese jambon - both sooo delicious. The girl working the till was kind as well! I will definitely be returning to try a couple more pastries!

Best bakery in Dun Laoghaire or Dublin to say the least. Friendly and kind staff, I once forgot my purse and they told me I can pay for another time 🥺🥺 A kind and lovely lady who seems to be the main staff there often keeps a sausage roll aside for me. I hope the da cube will be back soon, it's one of my favorites!

A small but quality place to get your bakery. Not what you can call cheap, but certainly worth the money. If you plan to get your food late in the morning or early afternoon, make sure to give them a call to make sure they can serve you. They do not make goods on an industrial scale, so it often happens they run out of goods before closing time. Disgruntled people's negative opinions certainly do not do their goods justice.

⭐️ The best bakery in town ⭐️ This is a real bakery, with good bread, bread rolls and cakes! Just check it out and try the croissant, it's the best you ever eat. It is not the cheapest but it's worth the quality!

Nice staff. They never seem t have enough currant or plain scones. There are always raspberry or blueberry ones left. I think that they ought to realize that if the plain and fruit scones are always gone first then there needs t be more of them and possibly less of the raspberry and blueberry ones. I went to a different cafe because of this.

I don't normally write reviews but had to make an exception in this case. I've never raved about the food in Missy Moops and generally only pop in due to their dog-friendly policy. However, after my visit at the weekend, I wouldn't set foot in there again. There were two soups on offer - both looked similar and tasted of bland veg soup. The sandwiches were plain and the coffee served in a takeaway cup. When we sat down, the man at the next table proceeded to continually openly cough without covering his mouth - we thought the serving staff might say it to him but they didn't react. We proceeded to eat as fast as we could until the waitress began adding chairs to the table behind us and a party of 9 sat down - I thought the max that could sit at one table was 6?? When the man beside us decided to sneeze directly into his hat, we couldn't stomach a second longer and walked out, leaving the remainder of our bland lunch behind. Yes, it's dog-friendly but it's not worth it.
M D — Google review
Just ok. They forgot our order. 2 bog standard coffees. Was told to take a seat and they would be dropped over. Then brought orders to people who had come in long after us. After querying the status of our order are we were told it was on the way. Then were brought coffee we hadn't ordered. Then had to restate out order and wait again. No apology made for poor customer experience. Coffee was nice but won't be rushing in again. Pity.

Cafollas On The Pier is a charming spot located at the harbor, offering generous toppings for their ice cream sundaes. The adult sundae portions are quite large, so it's advisable to share or ask the staff for smaller sizes. Despite occasional queues and loud music, visitors appreciate the delightful soft serve ice cream and quick service. The menu also includes refreshing iced coffee and hot chocolate, although some find the latter lacking in flavor.
Gorgeous, amazing, wonderful! A fantastic range of options for traditional tastes and ice cream adventurers alike. My partner got the bubblegum cone, which was fantastically sweet and had a beautiful crunch to go with the smoothness of the ice cream, and I got the açaí sundae which was HEAVENLY 🙌🙌🙌 The truck itself is in such a great spot for fantastic views and there are benches around if you wish to sit and enjoy a delicious treat, but you could also take a walk along the pier while you eat. Either way, this is THE spot for ice cream, no substitutions!

Great place, the toppings for the ice cream is very generous, which makes it feel worth it. We got the sundae, which is really nice. The portion for the adult sundae is slightly too big for us though, so bear that in mind or ask the staff. Being at the harbour too makes it a nice thing to walk and enjoy. We went on Sunday and there is a queue, although it was pretty quick. And the music is quite loud imo.

A lively pub serving great food in the heart of Dun Laoghaire. Service was quick if a bit haphazard on a busy sunny Sunday. The food was delicious and all four of us enjoyed what we ordered. We had two different pizzas as well as an Avo Toast Special, loaded fries with bacon and cheese and Buttermilk Chicken and Waffles. Along with two milkshakes a pint of Hogarden and a Seaside Margarita, the bill came to €100 which is comparable to other gastro bars in the area.

Honestly, if you care about watching a match or any sporting event in good conditions, this is not the place. I booked a table for 4 for the Champions League final and specifically asked for a good view. While there was a view, the screen was crooked and partially blocked. After the waitress turned off one of the two TVs, I asked if the projector issue could be fixed—her response: “I’ve been trying since this morning, if you want, do it yourself.” Not exactly professional. Hoping the food would be better, we ordered two pizzas—one just tomato and mozzarella, which came completely burnt. The black part in the photo? That’s supposed to be mozzarella. It tasted only of burnt crust. We also got parmesan and truffle fries—the parmesan tasted like plastic, and the truffle was nonexistent. I wouldn’t recommend this pub, not for the food and definitely not for watching a game. I live in Ireland, and this is the first time I’ve had such a disappointing experience in a pub.

I used to go there a lot back in 2018/2019. It was an excellent place. Since after the pandemic the place looks so dirty, bathrooms are horrible, cutlery and glasses are always unwashed. I'm a vegetarian and had to send dishes back as they added meat by accident twice. Such a shame. It used be a lovely place, but now just lacks being looked after. Still love going for the live music, but avoid to eat there because of the hygiene.

Had a really nice lunch here mid week with a couple of friends. We all really enjoyed the food. One of the girls is a vegan and was very happy with how much choice she had on the menu. Coffees (that we got to take away) were exceptionally good.

I recently visited lighthouse and was thoroughly impressed. Rafa was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making us feel right at home. The food was outstanding, André was perfect with every dish we tried being delicious and well-prepared. The pizza, in particular, was a standout – perfectly cooked with fresh, flavorful toppings.

Love the Lighthouse. I helped IADT Students' Union work a student drag event upstairs and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. We had some issues with unwelcome guests coming in and being creepy and hostile towards our students and the staff immediately dealt with the situation when we brought it to their attention. The pints are great, particularly the Five Lamps lager which I had been meaning to try for ages, and the facilities are also great. The event space upstairs "Top Deck" is a lovely intimate venue for all sorts of gigs whether that's music, comedy, drag, dj sets or whatever kind of event you want to run. Big shoutout to the staff for being so friendly and accommodating and creating a lovely inclusive atmosphere. As a fellow bartender I really appreciated their efficiency and friendliness!

I'm not a big tea or coffee drinker so I don't own or intend to buy a reusable coffee cup. However I was shopping in TK Maxx and I happened across a very nice coffee cup with a built in straw that was absolutely covered in pearls. These pearls were plastic and stuck on but it was gorgeous and I was tired drinking milkshakes with paper straws so I bought it. Cut to last week, I was meeting a friend in the Lighthouse and I ordered one of their milkshakes and I asked to have it in my fancy cup. They said yes, I got it back, very good milkshake. Cut to later that night, I got home, went to wash my cup, couldn't open it. Gave it to my brother, he couldn't open it, gave it to my Dad, he couldn't open it either. Tried running it under hot water, couldn't open it. I tried gripping it with some quick release clamps, didn't work. Tried some quick release clamps with longer leverage, didn't work. I tried oiling it, messing around with dunking it in different temperaturs of water. In the end we opened it while it was wrapped in a towel and in the grip of a vice clamp. The towel added friction and had the added bonus of not damaging the pearls (I'd already lost a few in the attempts to open it). I've never had such a hard time opening a container before. Whoever made the milkshake for me in the lighthouse has some godly strength.

The Art of Coffee, formerly known as Leonardo Coffee, has maintained the cozy ambiance and delicious coffee that patrons have come to love. The cafe offers a simple yet fresh menu with a delightful soup and sandwich deal. Additionally, they honor old loyalty cards from the previous establishment. The attention to detail and friendly staff create a charming atmosphere for coffee enthusiasts.
I ate a really tasty avocado toast here a few days ago. 😋 The staff is really nice and welcoming. I will definitely come back whenever I'm in Dun Laoghaire!

Disappointing Brunch. Avocado toast - myself and my friend both got the same. Poached eggs were overcooked and cold. Toast was ice cold. We were waiting 25 minutes after ordering. Coffee’s were finished by then. There was no excuse because only one other person in the cafe was waiting for food. Most likely the food was done ten minutes before it was served. (30 Mar 25, 12:40)

I want to share my very negative experience at Art Caffe in Dún Laoghaire. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst café visits I’ve ever had. I ordered something called the vegetarian hot roll (I’m not 100% sure of the exact name, but it was the vegetarian version). After just one bite I honestly thought I would throw up, it was so badly prepared that it was simply inedible. The coffee was a complete disaster. I have never had such awful coffee in my life. The milk tasted off, most likely spoiled and it completely ruined the drink. I also ordered an almond croissant, which I expected to be nice, but it turned out to be terrible as well. It was overloaded with sugar inside, the texture was heavy and unpleasant, and it was impossible to finish. When I told the waitress that the food was inedible, she just looked at me with disdain and said nothing no apology, no offer to replace it, nothing. Overall, I strongly advise avoiding Art Caffe in Dún Laoghaire. There are plenty of much better cafés in town where you can enjoy good coffee and food.

In the place of former Leonardo Coffee, welcome The Art of Coffee. My first impression, I am happy new owners keep the same ambiance of this place, same soft music in background and nice coffee brown colour interior deco. Coffee have same great taste. Food is simple, nice and fresh. Haven’t try sweets yet, but soup and sandwich deal worth money spent. Another nice surprise, old Leonardo coffee card has been honoured and I got free drink...thank you very much The Art of Coffee.

Nestled in the charming town of Dun Laoghaire, Fallon and Byrne is a multifaceted establishment that caters to all your gourmet needs. Whether you're looking for a cozy café, fine dining restaurant, or a stylish wine cellar adorned with vintage movie posters, this place has it all. The People's Park Café within the area offers a warm and inviting atmosphere with exceptional service. It's an ideal spot to savor delicious food and aromatic coffee while enjoying picturesque park views.
Last Saturday was the most magical day we held our wedding celebration in the People's Park Cafe Dun laoire. I can not explain how professional, kind, helpful and joyful the team were.. everyone from the management team IVA, Stefan & Veronica, to the girls working on the evening Cristina, Esme & J they made the evening feel fun and gave 100% attention to our guests and ourselves. The venue was stunning crisp white linen tablecloths & napkins they helped me add my personal touches to the tables and even helped to make my beautiful bouquet! Veronica whipped out the steamer to make sure there were no creases in my dress..they made me feel so special I will never forget the beautiful atmosphere and my guests felt it too..the joy was contagious. Ben the executive chef was amazing from our first meeting discussing menu ideas & options to the stunning menu he created for our special day. The food was just out of this world every single guest was wowed by the presentation & flavours, I have had nothing but complements from all of our guests saying how outstanding the food was and how it was the nicest wedding menu they have ever tasted, the whole experience was extraordinary, one guest said "it was so different to the normal conveyor belt style wedding food you are given". If you are looking for a unique venue for any special occasion within the stunning gardens of the peoples park do not hesitate book now!! We were honoured to be the first wedding celebration that the team hosted. Everything was flawless our only downside is how quickly the evening went by and that we really want to do it all again!! thank you so much Guys you were all amazing ❤️

I've strolled through People's Park countless times but never had the chance to try this cafe, as it always seemed busy. Today, I decided to stop by for a quick breakfast. The menu offers a good yet minimal selection of breakfast options, and the food was well-prepared. The service was efficient and friendly. Unlike other days, the cafe wasn't’t very crowded on this Monday morning, making it a pleasant experience. There are plenty of seating options, both indoors and outdoors, and the bathrooms are well-maintained. Overall, a great spot for a relaxed meal in the park.

A very lovely cafe in the park which serves great coffee. We had a lovely morning and luckily the weather was perfect. We could not ask for a better weather and atmosphere of the place. Staff was very nice and helpful. Would highly recommend this nice cafe for a quick bite, coffee or even a breakfast/brunch spot for your weekend. Very close to the dart station. Bathroom was clean as well

I often visit People’s Park Café and I must say it is always a great experience. The location is fantastic because it is right in the heart of Dun Laoghaire, surrounded by the park and very close to the sea. The atmosphere is calm and friendly, with seating available both inside and outside. It is ideal for meeting friends, enjoying a quiet tea alone or spending time with family. What also makes me happy is the variety on the menu. They offer filling brunch options, lighter snacks and a very good lemon iced tea. What really stands out is the staff. They are kind, attentive and always make sure everyone feels welcome. Even when the café is busy, they remain positive and professional. I highly recommend People’s Park Café to anyone visiting the area or living nearby. It is the perfect place to relax and enjoy good food, great drinks and excellent service. I am already looking forward to coming back soon.

I recently held a private party at the cafe. From the start of planning, the event team were wonderful in helping bring my ideas to life - and suggesting how best to use the venue. The venue is incredible. To have the beautiful outdoor terraces, along with the delightful indoor space is fantastic. Add to that the setting of the park, where all the children at the party could play all night, it was just the perfect spot. We had canapés and a cold buffet and my guests and I thought all the food was delicious. Anything left over was packaged for people to take away, which was really appreciated. Finally the staff could not be faulted. They all went above and beyond to make our party as good as it could be. Nothing was too much trouble, and they were so charming and helpful. They looked after all the children so well. I couldn’t recommend this venue highly enough.

Great location, lovely staff, nice ambience, BUT the coffee, OMG it was the bitterest coffee I got this year (and I've been in a fair few Starbucks). Perhaps it's Gourmet coffee and I am an ignorant philistine. Perhaps I just got a bad brew. Shame, otherwise a perfect place

The coffee making is oh so slow. Twenty minutes to get coffee and scone, so you'd better have time on your side. Whoever is making the coffees also needs to wear gloves as our cups were handled all round the outside. Not great. Food is good though very slack cleaning of tables.C'mon, lovely Venue , you can up your game.

Costa Coffee is a delightful counter-service coffee chain that offers an array of hot beverages, refreshing iced coolers, and a tempting selection of sweet snacks and sandwiches. During my recent visit, I savored a perfectly crafted soy cappuccino that truly showcased the quality of their coffee. Today at 4:30pm, they've already closed off part of the establishment for the purpose of "cleaning" which in Irish mean "We don't give a f where you want to sit, we're closing in only one and half hours". Even the staff member was running to us to tell us it's closed, although it's obviously not being cleaned. Very bad experience for such a big coffee chain, especially in such a good spot and established place.

When the staff shout at a customer across the room there is a problem. Serious hospitality training required here. With only one till they are a limited operation. Not a good experience. Go up to Shoe Lane or Two Beans and do yourself a favour.

Service is so bad. Put in order. Waited 20 mins for a wrap, so I asked about it, and when the waitress realised no one in the kitchen had started the order, they all started laughing and went back on their phones behind the counter. I would avoid, too many great spots to eat in Dun Laoghaire than waste your money here.

I'm in love with the coffee shop! I love having a coffee in the morning or during the day and I confess that the best mocca I had in Dublin was in this cafe, made by Fernando! Every day I go to the library, I ask if he's working 😂because the coffee is delicious, he makes it perfectly! And I also discovered that he is the cook, so in addition to making an excellent mocca, he makes all the sweets and all the lunch! I really recommend this place! I love so much!

Sandwich disaster. Decided to order a sandwich from the menu: Sourdough with honey glazed ham, Dublin cheddar, red onion relish and sun-dried tomatoes. It sounded delish! What I received though was barely resembling a gourmet sandwich for €8.50! The sun--dried tomatoes were cherry tomatoes and put in whole including the stem. The other ingredients also failed to meet expectations that one might have for a sandwich costing €8.50. After returning the sandwich to the counter I was told "well, they don't usually look like this". Hmm. In the end, I had asked if I could get the soup instead. It arrived and I was happy with it. However, there were three further attempts to deliver additional soups after we all got served. It didn't make sense, however they insisted that we ordered more soup until my friend asked whether this is a joke and to point us to the hidden camera we could smile into.
Sandra S — Google review
Polite, friendly and attentive staff, great coffee and very reasonably priced menu. For a building of this size the cafe falls so far short, the space provided could and should be larger and better laid out. The toilets are in a bad location there with doors constantly banging throughout busy times. It's not a comfortable space for some.
Patricia M — Google review
Location is great, food is nice and the decor is cool. It's a real shame about the staff though, we were there on Saturday, told to take a seat for table service. Waiter, a young lad, then did a brilliant job of ignoring all the tables to have chats with his colleagues. So we queued to order, told we couldn't order at the till for eating in, so went back to table to get ignored again. Finally our order was taken 25 mins after we sat down. Frustrating. Please work on service INK. If people can't access your product then what's the point?
Suzanne L — Google review
This cafe must be aimed at losing money. Why have a beautifully designed space (complete with architectural design explainers on the wall) and expensive looking furniture, yet not manage it in any way aimed at making the customer experience a good one? To cut a long story short, service was terrible, selection of food and coffee paltry and the experience ultimately disappointing. Such a shame.
Michael O — Google review
A really nice building, but the service is truly appalling. Dirty tables, and the two staff members present were eating their own lunch behind the counter while we waited. They finally served us raw breakfast sausages, which I took as our cue to leave.

Polite and friendly staff, and the coffees are much better than the usual chain coffee brands. They also sell 8th Corner coffee beans, which I use on my home machine. Harry’s Café Bar, situated on Upper Georges Street in the heart of Dun Laoghaire, is a beloved spot for locals and weekend wanderers alike. Known for its wholesome and healthy food made with locally sourced ingredients, Harry’s caters to families and groups while also providing catering and takeout services.
Took my father out for breakfast for fathers day. I couldn't fault the place, food was absolutely beautiful, staff were so friendly and helpful. The place is very accommodating. As an autistic adult it was lovely to be able to go out and enjoy a meal with family without getting sensory overload from the music and lights. I was able to bring my dog which was fantastic and they treated her like a pay customer. The ower came over to check we were happy with our food and stayed for a chat with my dad. It was lovely to see such a lovely level of costumer care.

If you find yourself in Dun Laoghaire, make sure to stop by itsa... Bagel, a gem I stumbled upon back in 2001. This delightful spot quickly became my go-to lunch destination for seven years due to the exceptional quality of their ingredients and mouthwatering flavors. Recently returning to the area, I was thrilled to discover that not only has the food remained top-notch, but the staff is even friendlier than before!
I discovered this place back in 2001 when I was working in Dun Laoghaire. It was one of my regular places for lunch for about seven years. The quality of the ingredients used was obviously high and everything tasted delicious. I recently started working in the area again and have to say things remain as good, only that with an even nicer staff. Pro tip: try the gourmet veggie bagel, it's like a party of flavours in your mouth. And stay away from the brownie, you won't be able to stop eating it.

amazing food and everything on the menu is great ! Very unfriendly staff and it’s specifically one girl that worked today at around 11-12 o’clock. Management should be aware of this because she has the same attitude every time we go there. I made an order and she started nodding and her head like she was almost giving out to us, no smile no nothing. It’s not the first time it happens every time we go it feels like that with her. You can feel that she does not like the work there and it’s shown in her service. By far the worst staff member i came across in any restaurant but by far one of the tastiest foods i have had in a while :) I think maybe yous should send in someone to order something and observe how she behaves.
Marian C — Google review
I’m honestly so sorry to write this bad review. I’ve been a fan of Itsa for years. I went recently and it was not good, bagel was badly put together and service was disappointing too. So I went a second time today hoping that was just an off day. This time they had quite a few ingredients sold out, they weren’t helpful, to be honest they just seemed very worn out. But the food wasn’t good either, badly assembled. And the Americano I got was like water, not the usual standard at all. And it was 3.25! Everything came in takeaway bags and cups even though we’d said we’d like to sit in. I won’t be going back and it’s honest a shame to see what’s happened to this once really reliable chain. I hope this review gets the attention of the owners who need to do something to save this place.

Pair it with one of their indulgent Double Chocolate Muffins and a smooth Flat White for the ultimate treat. The staff at BB's are known for their friendly and efficient service, ensuring that every visit feels welcoming.
Mozzarella Cheese and Caramelised Onion Sandwich Toasted, Double Chocolate Muffin and Flat White had really good flavour. Overall very nice cafe. Good Staff!

One of the worst experience someone can have. The place was filthy and dirty. Flies in the place. Staff is the worst thing in this experience, not accommodating and even forgot what we ordered and we had to reminder twenty minutes later. Even the food was extremely bad. You can look at the photo to see that the powder for the hot chocolate was still dry at the bottom of the cup. I will not visit it again and definitely will not recommend.

My partner and I asked numerous times about things constraining nuts. Was constantly told by staff there’s no nuts in their food. I eat and notice my panini making my throat hurt. Ended up leaving and having an allergic reaction. Face puffy and swollen. Not sure if it’s cross contamination or if they just don’t know their stuff but I’m very upset and will not be returning. Staff should know what their food has in it ESPECIALLY when it comes to allergens. That could kill someone.

I ordered a cup of cappuccino to drink inside, I received it in a paper cup and the coffee wasn't tasty. The atmosphere was very unpleasant, the tables and floors were dirty.
Vesta J — Google review
This is a nice coffee shop - clean, quiet and neat. The meatball sandwich was delicious - a bit spicy, which is fine for me, but mightn't be for everyone. It could have been warmer in the middle, though. Coffee is quite good, not great. The entrance door looking out onto the parking lot is a frustration though, as it blows open and closed very easily. Fine on a nice day, but on an in any way windy one, like today, it's not much fun for the someone (me, on this occasion) sitting directly opposite. Overall nice and I'll probably be back.

I arrived at 17:22 on Saturday, 26 April 2025, on a sunny afternoon. After selecting two sandwiches, I handed them to the person behind the counter to have them toasted, only to be informed that the machine had been turned off. As a result, my companion and I promptly went to Costa — and guess what? Their machine was turned on, and we enjoyed a lovely, warm toasted sandwich.

BB’s… More like «no baby» I used to be a big fan of this place, they had a pleasant vibe and nice pastries… I am unsure of the abrupt shift in dynamic over the past few years, but I’m disappointed. The staff seemed as if they were being held hostage, whispering with sullen looks on their face. When we requested the milkshake, they shrugged and said we don’t do that… When we requested the matcha, again whispers and nothing! The place was unclean and by the looks of it deserted… Won’t be returning here, this is a stark café and I’m woeful about the downfall of BB’s.

Happy Out × Together Academy is a delightful café that perfectly blends coziness with modern aesthetics, making it an ideal spot for coffee lovers and dog owners alike. Nestled by the water, this charming venue offers stunning views of the harbor, especially from its outdoor seating area—perfect for sunny days. The atmosphere is vibrant yet intimate, though be prepared for a bustling crowd as it's a popular destination.
This cozy café just outside the seaside is an absolute delight. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and perfect for a relaxed morning or afternoon break. I had the scrambled eggs, and they were hands down some of the best I’ve ever tasted—creamy, perfectly seasoned, and served with fresh, crusty bread. The staff were friendly and attentive, adding to the overall great vibe of the place. Whether you're stopping by after a beach walk or just looking for a peaceful spot with great food, this café is a must-visit!

Lovely café with beautiful sea views — especially nice on a sunny day. The sandwiches were delicious, and the coffee hit the spot. It does get quite busy, almost as if it’s the only café in Dún Laoghaire 😄. We had a reservation for three and were seated at the window counter, which isn’t ideal if you want to chat comfortably with others. Service was a bit hands-off — no one really checked in on us to see if we wanted to order more. I expected that with a reserved table, there would be more attentive service at the spot. Still, a charming place overall, and worth visiting — just something to keep in mind when booking.

Great place for coffee. Very busy on this Sunday . Staff is so proactive and efficient. Do booking in advance to enjoy the views and avoid the lines. Coffee wa great , we also tired the chicken toastie ..it was superb .
Anita P — Google review
Yes, this is a cute cafe in Dun Laoighre. I agree with other posts that the food was average, the tables are very close and the view is lovely. I completely appreciate the concept and applaud the intent of this learning cafe, the delivery however did not appear to align with the mandate. The service was chaotic to say the least (no host, no server, no cutlery, no water…). There were a handful of teens behind the counter making their own drinks and eating their own food. The students were patiently awaiting instruction and direction, which was sadly lacking. Meanwhile, what appeared to be the management team of adults, were also sitting down eating and having a break at a table next to us, completely oblivious to the chaos of clients seeking service. Unfortunately, due to mismanagement and label of direct instruction-supervision, at this time.

Great view for tea and coffee. Nice danish and pastry selections plus hot food options. Staff is excellent and having the Together Academy given such opportunities is fantastic to see. They really pull their own.

We went to this café for lunch — note that their kitchen closes at 3 pm. The location alone makes it worth a visit: right on the coastline, overlooking the harbour, with the wind in your face. On a sunny day, it’s an absolute must whether you’re there for coffee alone or with friends. For atmosphere and location, it’s a solid 5 — especially if you can snag a great seat. What makes it even better is their collaboration with Together Academy. It’s a fantastic initiative, and kudos to Happy Out for being part of it. As for the food and coffee: decent overall. We ordered the Clucking Unbelievable toastie, the Hot Chick focaccia sandwich (a special), potato bites with herbs, garlic aioli and parmesan, an oat milk flat white, and a coconut milk latte. The coffee was strong and flavorful — no complaints there. The toasties, however, didn’t quite hit the mark. The Clucking Unbelievable was overpowered by avocado smash, which drowned out the pesto and sun-dried tomato flavors I was looking forward to — I only caught a hint of them in the last bite. My partner’s Hot Chick focaccia had better balance in flavor, but we felt the bread didn’t really complement the filling. The potato bites were well seasoned and hit the spot, though for me personally, the parmesan was a bit heavy for the portion size. All in all, a decent meal in a stunning setting

Happy Out Café in Dunlaoghaire is such a beautiful experience. I took my twin boys there on Sunday to enjoy the fab sunshine. The location and views are second to none! The place was buzzing and the staff were so helpful and friendly. Service was great and the chocolate brownies are to die for!! You have to go and while you’re there hop in for a dip. It doesn’t get much better than that!❤️

Sandycove Store & Yard is a delightful spot that offers a unique blend of relaxation and refreshment. While it may not be the ideal choice for families with young children during evening hours, it serves as a convenient café near public sea baths, making it accessible for visitors. Although the pastry selection could use some improvement, patrons can enjoy decent coffee in generous portions at reasonable prices. The outdoor seating area does require more attention to cleanliness when it's less busy.
Lovely café. Chill vibes! Fresh smoothies and food. Different sitting areas. Place and pay for food, collect food when buzzer goes off. We had a combo: smoothie (berries, banana, yoghurt, seeds), chocolate brownie, rocky road, acai bowl. Very good 👍🏼 Background music to enjoy.
Joelene B — Google review
Amazing and chill place for a nice sauna and cold bath! For me the main problems it’s the lack of changing rooms or hot showers! The place to get changed its not private and it’s mix between boys and girls with makes hard to take the wet clothes off and put the dry one. Apart from this little detail the place is awesome. Good music, good coffee, good price

This review is about sustainability only! 🙂 By 2050, there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. And over 95% of the plastic that we recycle does not actually get recycled, but rather ends up in landfills, incinerators, or in our waters. These plastics break down into micro plastics, which are severely impacting human health, let alone the health of other species. I was heartened to see that you do, indeed so much of your food in reusable containers for dining in. But I was also noticing where single used plastics were prevalent, like for water, cups, and for ginger shots. Because you clearly are able to provide reusable dishes for meals, I wonder how you could further eliminate single use plastics from the rest of your menu. Perhaps by providing reusable water cups for those staying to enjoy their meal on the premises, and same with the ginger shots. It feels antithetical to be a café and a sauna house in a waterfront town, that is contributing to the plastic pollution crisis. I understand that avoiding plastics at all cost can be difficult as a small business, but I wonder where you may be able to review the plastics you are serving, and see where you can lessen them. Thank you for helping your customers be better to the environment. I trust that all of us would like the opportunity to do better by this earth, and to do better by these very coastlines that we are coming to visit and learn from. Lovely food, lovely service, now would love to see less plastic. Thank you for considering!

Went here for the first time today and will definitely be back to try other things on the menu and the sauna. The place is absolutely lovely, didn’t have a coffee there unfortunately but the cheese toasties were lovely. Service was great too, quick turnaround for the sandwich. Great vibe about the place too.

Ordered the ‘Cheese Plate’ - €14.25 was a RIP off for two tiny bits of cheese. Absolutely crazy money. I loved the atmosphere and staff were very friendly but oh my so expensive - can’t justify returning unfortunately.

I can't believe they charged us €8.50 for two pieces of dry bread—no mayo or butter. So disappointed. I love the sauna, but I wouldn’t eat there again.

Amazing customer service, went above and beyond to help and saved the day. A Cake ordering error meant that there was no cake for me to collect on my son's communion morning. The staff were so lovely, no fuss and managed to get 2 lovely cakes together in a matter of 30 mins.... complete with a personalised chocolate sign. Really appreciate the effort. Top class customer service, thank you so much

A nice large cafe in central Dunlaoghaire , lots of seating room and accessible to wheelchair users. The hot drinks are good & reasonably priced, there's a large selection of cakes, pastries etc, with a small selection of savoury options. I go there regularly, especially when I'm shopping and need a sit down, to rest & rehydrate.

Had a breakfast bap here was delicious. Son had pancakes and got his approval! Coffee (Americano) was lovely. Staff friendly and courteous. Place was nice clean and airy. What i actually really liked was the quietness, no music blaring. Could have a conversation without shouting. Some places you can't think with music and background noise. Will definitely be back.

Seattle-based coffeehouse chain known for its signature roasts, light bites and WiFi availability.
At Starbucks, where aromas rise, Bernardo shines beneath the skies. A master of each foamy swirl, He greets each guest—man, boy, and girl. With steady hands and endless cheer, He brews delight year-round, sincere. Through bustling lines or quiet days, His service earns consistent praise. A latte crafted to perfection, Each sip reflects his true dedication. Bernardo stands, humble yet proud, Making Starbucks hearts unbowed.
Elizabeth V — Google review
Unfortunately, both the Tiramisu coffee and the iced cappuccino were poorly made today. I’ve had the Tiramisu iced coffee many times before—even at this same store—and it’s usually excellent. But today’s version was barely drinkable. I hope Starbucks can invest more effort in training new staff—or at the very least, avoid having only two inexperienced employees handle everything during busy hours. I’d also suggest that if a particular drink can’t be made properly, it’s better to communicate that honestly rather than serve something bad.
Liu A — Google review
Perfectly good coffee in a nice venue. Staff are helpful and friendly for the most part. The place is kept very clean and tidy and there is good WiFi access here. They have an area with workstations that have plugs and even have a reading lamp attached. There is no toilet in the premises though. If you need to use the facilities, you have to go all the way to the other side of Bloomfield's Shopping Centre. Bear that in mind if you are here on your own, as you wouldn't be able to leave your belongings and coffee here while you nipped to the loo. My only gripe is that they serve their coffee way too hot. I have scalded my lips a few times. Also, when coffee is served above 96 degrees, it ruins the flavours.
Rachel K — Google review

I was going in to have a coffee, the price is ridiculous. I went to sit down and there was a cat! I’m allergic to cats. I alerted the staff and they acted like it was normal. This could be very dangerous to people that are scared and allergic like myself. The staff are rude and don’t care for anyone. Overall my experience here was very very bad.

I was having a bad day, but Bernardo's excellent customer service and maternal aura made me feel much better. Please never give this man a raise as I need him to stay working here forever.

Been there 3 times in last month , most staff are very friendly, hot chocolate was delicious just the restaurant it was dirty and messy everytime, not only the tables but the floor was also very dirty, which makes me think if they don’t mind the restaurant being so messy how clean it should be the kitchen and everything? 🤔
