Great bar to watch sports. They have more screens than wall and a decent selection of drinks. Only small issue is the food is pricy for what it is: £19 for a burger, £17 for a wrap, £13.50 for loaded fries. Would recommend to watch sports or just a drink.

Delicious food, quite pricey when looking at menu but portions are huge so definitely didn't need as much as we ordered! Starters were as big as a main needed to be. Pork lolly pops ( 6 of them! ) were Delicious ! Left overs efficiently packaged up for lunch!

Had a very lovely meal here our first night on the island. We were seated relatively quick upon walking in, but I do suggest that if you are a larger group to anticipate it being very busy, as we were just lucky enough for a table for 2 to be free upon entering — so the ability to be seated fast definitely depends on how available they are. Staff are friendly which adds to a nice atmosphere. Given it can be very busy, it was quite loud when we went, between loud and average as there were many conversations that were going on but not too loud that you are overwhelmed and conversations, for me and my girlfriend atleast, could flow with ease. Tables can be tested relatively close to other diners, which isn't a problem for me but is a feature. Service speed was great for how busy they were when we went. Our meal was lovely too. I ordered the 5oz fillet steak and it was delicious, the portion size to me was perfect as it was a great amount of everything. My girlfriend ordered the chicken burger and said it was great, very filling. Drinks were lovely too, Blue Lagoon was very nice. Did not sit or liner in the bar area so cannot comment on that.

What cam I say. Food was amazing. Portion sizes were huge. The meat was beautifully cooked. I really wanted to try everything on the menu but you cam only eat so much. Definitely a must visit place on the isle of man. I would come back again just to go here.

Jak’s Bar & Smokehouse is a lively late-night spot open until 3am, combining a sports bar feel with plenty of screens to catch the action. There’s a good selection of beers, friendly staff, and comfortable seating throughout. While it can get loud, the atmosphere stays sociable and talkable, making it a fun place for both sports fans and night owls.

Amazing food and great service! Jaks is definitely a must-visit when you’re in the Isle of Man. It can get a bit loud during big games, but overall it’s highly recommended for both their food and drinks!

Excellent service last night! All staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was amazing and plentiful, even the children's meal portion size was great! My daughter loved that you can make your own ice cream with plenty of toppings 😋 she also received a picture to colour and some crayons as soon as we sat down! absolutely fantastic place and very clean, even the children's ice cream station was spotless! Did I mention, the staff were absolutely amazing! 😁

Overall lovely place, atmosphere and staff are great. We got breakfast here, pancakes are okay, very dry, eggs bene was lovely, avocado foccaia was alright but not flavourful. The tea is lovely and selection of breakfast is vast. Food wait time was longer than expected although we were the only ones there. About 15/20 minutes from when we ordered, brought drinks out immediately

Very nice place! Visited here whilst travelling for work - the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Lots of choice for food & tea, I went for the Cloud Catcher which was delicious. The food arrived in good time and I would visit again :)

Quirky little place - limited lunch menu, baked potato’s, soup, wraps and paninis however they have a great all day breakfast menu. They also do great milkshakes and hot chocolates. I didn’t try it but they do a speciality tea with gin!

One of my favourite cafés to visit. A really great hot chocolate available here (not a powdered instant mix in sight!). Brilliant place for breakfast, brunch, lunch and afternoon tea. I highly recommend the toast with cinnamon butter!

Nice place to sit outside, but the view is not so great. I ordered a tumeric latte, and I spilled some on my shirt. It was impossible to get the yellow out of my shirt so I had to throw it away. The panini was nice. I wouldn't really recommend going here, it's nice but not so special.

The Best place for a proper cup of tea. Tea is served in a pot. With a minute timer. A 3 minute timer and a 5 minute timer. So you don't have to guess how long its been brewing.

Absolutely fantastic food - if you like fish, you'll love it here. All food cooked perfectly, with friendly and attentive waiting staff. I would highly recommend and will be going again the next time I'm in Douglas. Strongly recommend booking a table as it's always busy

So we went looking for takeaway but of course they don't do it, so we decided to have a sit down meal. We were a little shocked by the price (expecting takeaways) until the food arrived. TAKE MY MONEY. We had the fish and chips that were fabulous - probably some of the best we have ever enjoyed. Huge portions and the fish was juicy, flakey with really nice batter. Yes, it's pricey but you do get great value.

My husband had the lobster at Little Fish Café and it was absolutely insane – perfectly cooked, full of flavour, and easily one of the best I’ve ever had. The atmosphere is relaxed yet stylish, with a lovely buzz that makes it feel special without being stuffy. The service was friendly and attentive, and everything from start to finish felt spot-on. If you’re looking for a place that serves incredible seafood in a welcoming setting, this is it. Can’t wait to come back!

Cosy, friendly seafood restaurant in an excellent position on North Quay in Douglas. The food we had (queen scallops and king prawns, followed by hake and cod) were cooked beautifully. Friendly and attentive staff made the evening.

Had a meal here on Friday night with 3 friends on a short weekend to the Isle of Man - two of our party had been to the cafe before and recommended. I had the baked cod and the Smallest Sundae. Didn't disappoint. Prices a little on the high side but worth it. The fish was really tasty. The pudding was what it said - small -(size of a salt cellar) but enough. Nice informal little place in the harbour. Only a small number of tables so recommend you book to ensure you can get a table. Staff friendly and just the right amount of attention. Will definitely book again next time in IOM.

Came for a visit while on our cruise stop. Was recommended this place for some good seafood and they did not disappoint. Awesome fish and chips and the queenies were amazing! Was super busy with all of the visitors and there is limited seating but well worth it.

Came here tonight for dinner with my father and we’re both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We didn’t realise we had to book a reservation for a table but we were fortunate enough that a table became free while we had some drinks at the bar area. Not what I expected at all but absolutely fantastic service and equally fantastic food. He had the fish and chips (sadly no photos) whilst I had the cauliflower steak. Both full of flavour and the perfect portion size. Will definitely recommend and will be returning when I’m next in the Isle of Man! Thank you for a wonderful evening!

More a family friendly restaurant than a bar. That being said the most polite and friendly member of staff serving the meal along with 2 outstanding members behind the bar diligently serving order after order! Felt compelled to give a tip to all 3! (Which doesn't happen very often) lovely place definitely recommended 👌

Lovely restaurant/bar with a great selection of food and drinks. Excellent value for money, and I’m certainly not complaining about a delicious, satisfying burger with chips and a pint of cider for around £20! The only downside was that the lady who served us gave a bit of side-eye when we chose not to tip, but I’ll chalk that up to bad luck, as the staff have been friendly on previous visits.

Really good place. We went in late on a Saturday and despite the kitchen being closed, they served us no problems and the food was great. So much so we went back the next day for lunch. Staff are really good

We went for Sunday lunch 11th May. We were so looking forward to it as people said it was good. Sun lunch exists only of chicken no other choice of meat and it wasn’t even tender. I certainly wouldn’t call it good believe you me. The plates were packed to the hilt with food and small dishes, so removed the dishes to get to the food. A proper dinner plate wouldn’t go a miss. The cheese caulyflower was so hard we couldn’t cut into it so we sent it back only for it to arrive back and when I put my fork into it, it was burnt just like the Yorkshire pudding which was just a big empty tasteless shell. As for the chicken mine had so much bone and very little meat at all. I have no idea how the so called roast potatoes were cooked but they certainly were not roasted and tasted dreadful just like the mash. The only thing that was hot was the gravy and that was the best tasting thing on the plate except you can’t eat gravy. What a disaster and a complete waste of money. We just shoved the plates to one side, finely the lovely young waitress came to clear the table. Generally with practically all the food untouched the waitress should ask what’s the problem but she didn’t ask and we didn’t say anything as we didn’t want her to be upset as she is not the so called chef. I hope she showed the chef all the food that was returned as it was inedible. He should be ashamed of himself whoever he was. I can still in my lats 70s cook a wonderful roast dinner and with all the extras like bread sauce, bread stuffing and pigs in blankets and proper delicious roast potatoes. Do these chefs have no idea what to serve with the different meats. It really is beyond me. What started out a beautiful day ended up a disaster. So finally I got home and had cheese and biscuits and a nice glass of red. A darn site better than what the Barbary served up. We have eaten there plenty of times and yes it’s not always been good but not too bad either. The problem is there is no consistency and that’s not just at the Barbary, it’s quite a lot of places I’m afraid on the Isle of Man. I should know as I go out every Fri and it’s really quite impossible to know where to go.

The Barbary Coast Grill & Bar absolutely nailed it! From the moment we walked in, we were met with friendly, professional service and a clean, welcoming atmosphere that instantly made us feel at ease. The menu is excellent – loads of great choices without being overwhelming, and everything sounded tempting. When the food arrived, it didn’t disappoint. Fresh, well-presented, and absolutely delicious. But the real stars of the show? The desserts. The sticky toffee pudding and key lime pie were to die for. Rich, indulgent, and the perfect ending to a really enjoyable meal. This place ticks all the boxes – great food, warm service, clean and well-run. Highly recommend if you’re in Douglas and fancy a meal you won’t regret.

Atmosphere was good. Very family friendly. ordered some pork ribs on the 29th of July in the evening and they were disappointingly very cold. I asked the waitress to let the chef know that I couldn't eat the ribs because they were very cold and I asked them to be packed. There was no apology or word from the Chef or someone senior to acknowledge that I came all the way to have dinner and I was served a cold meal...

Delightful, delicious and very dangerous for my waistline! We enjoyed the ribeye and the slow cooked beef and they were both melt in your mouth. Great service as well and lovely atmosphere to boot! Will definitely make this our go-to for special occasions. It did not disappoint.

An excellent fine dining restaurant on North Quay in Douglas overlooking the marina. Food was delicious, and the service and atmosphere were excellent. We had crab toasts and tuna tataki to start with, followed by sea bream with queen scallops and bacon and cod with tatar sauce and peas. Definitely recommend very highly.

The best meal I had on the Isle of Man! Absolutely gorgeous food, beautifully presented. All tasted amazing and the set lunch menu is such a good deal. The staff was friendly and attentive. Very impressed, can only recommend it.

I went for lunch because they have the Dream bird menu and it was so great and tasty!! They do the best burger I've ever tried. The service was very attentive and kind. A lovely experience that I will repeat for sure!

Delicious food. I had probably the best hake I have ever had in the UK. Very fresh and extremely tasty. The starter was quite small but tasty as well. The prices are high but it is worth it. Totally recommendable.

Lovely place but the food was very rich for me so unfortunately I couldn't eat my starter of stuffed mushrooms with home made pate. My husband had the seabass as his main but it was drowning in garlic butter, way too much. My main was beef stroganoff, it was edible but I think I chose wrongly. The servers were great, very friendly and nice but alas the food for me let it down.

We've been visiting L'Experience for around 20 years. Food is always excellent, great service and a good atmosphere. French onion soup and fillet steak never disappoint! A favourite with our group, highly recommended.

Great place to eat if your staying at the regency, steak was cooked amazing but lacked any flavor besides the butter on it.

The soup was good the main was very poor no vegetables and thin frozen chips for £20 a head at lunch time. Used to be very good, but, not now. We will not be returning.

Experience it was, but not a good one. It's supposed to be a fine dining experience, that it certainly is not. The service is well below par. We arrived 15mins early in order to have a pre- dinner drink and said as much. After a long wait and having to ask twice the drinks order was eventually given. When the menus were handed out we were told of the specials. Seeing as we had booked for a 6.30pm slot we were surprised, when we gave our orders and two were for specials, they were not now available so early on in the evening. We were 'summoned' rather than pleasantly escorted to our table with the waiter standing at the door and pointing across the room to indicate our table.... maybe he's watched too many Fawlty Towers episodes. We asked to order wine. We were served our starters and had to ask again to have wine. We had finished our starters before the wine arrived. One member of the party has an allergy and specified this at the time of ordering, yet was served something containing the allergen and the staff were not interested. One simply shrugged their shoulders and said it was the customer's problem and walked away. Altogether it was a terrible experience, ruined the birthday we were supposed to be celebrating, so an aptly named establishment. We will not be returning and will be sure to let all our friends, family and acquaintances know.

Just had dinner here, bruschetta was full of flavour as were our pasta mains. Absolutely delicious. We couldn't fault the meal or the staff and service. Top notch.... we will be happy to recommend it and hope to return. Mitch & Neil were superb hosts. Thank you all.

We went for half Diavola pizza and half Carbonara pasta, and wow they were amazing! This combo keeps us coming back every time, and it never disappoints. Shoutout to Jorgina too, super welcoming and an awesome server!

Absolute credit to these guys! The dishes I tried, bolognese, margherita pizza.. STUNNING!! could not fault this place! Service was great and prices are perfect! 10/10!! ******UPDATE****** Had to try this place for the second time just to be sure! I don't normally post a 2nd review but all I can say is wow!! This time I tried the bruschetta and the penne arrabiata, and it did not disappoint!! The flavours In the bruschetta simply amazing.. and the penne was perfectly al dente, yet subtly seasoned and spiced to perfection 👌 Yet again service received by Jess and the chefs was nothing less than attentive, warm and welcoming. I love this place!

Best pizza on the Island I reckon. I built my own with anchovies, olives garlic oil, asparagus & artichokes and it was lush. The tiramisu was a delight too.

A group of six of us have just enjoyed a really tasty meal at Just Pizza and Pasta. The food was excellent, and the portions were very generous. The highlight of my meal was the huge portion of tiramisu - the best I have tasted outside of Italy! It's a beautiful setting beside the harbour, too. Definitely would recommend - thank you very much!

Great pizzas, including their gluten free options which are pretty lovely! There is plenty of seating available but making a reservation on the weekend is necessary as it does get busy rather quickly. The pricing has increased over the years but the quality of food is quite good. Great place for big parties although can be quite noisy too! Can’t wait to be back for another pizza 🍕

💀tasteless steak...the sliced fillet. I feel like id get a better steak at a weatherspoons? Didn't taste fresh at all. Sadly the corn on cobs were gone off..i could smell it as soon as it arrived to the table. And tasted like they came out the freezer. Its not a complete 1star because the avo salad was good (minus the cobs), and the table service were nice... she helped get cobs off the receipt.

What a fantastic steakhouse with lovely, friendly staff. Me and a mate visited here for an evening meal and we weren’t disappointed. Awesome burgers with plenty of cheese! This place was recommending by a local so we popped in for our evening meal and had a great time. Fun decor and a really friendly team. Very highly recommended if you love a great steak or burger

First time visiting IOM and did some research on steakhouses and this place come up highly recommended. I went for the Fillet Mignon and requested it to be cooked medium. It was cooked to perfection, very tender and no fat on the edges, exactly how I like. I had sweet potato fries as a side, though the steak come grilled garlic mushrooms and spinach. It's fairly expensive here, as the fries were £4.95 extra, and in most steakhouses this would come with your steak, however the taste and quality was excellent and I would definitely go there again.

First time there for a Fathers Day treat. The staff and the service is very good. The food was beautiful. The ambience of the place is good. Downside was that the desserts menu was lacking with our choices not available so this means no 5 stars this time. Will definitely go again and recommend to others.

A basement restaurant on the sea front so no view. A lovely welcome and good service but my lasagne was average at best. The food my co diners had looked better.

Good to get a table at TT time.

Little Italy. Despite a full Restaurant and having no Reservation, they welcomed us and made space. Service was excellent just as the dishes.

After failing to get into nearby Alessandros due to their being a significant number of steps (we had a pushchair), we opted for Paparazzi which was a short walk from our hotel. Despite the disabled/pushchair access being via the rear through a shady back alley, at least we got in. The staff were welcoming and swiftly sat us down, getting drinks sorted. As my wife and I are both vegetarian, we fancied something different to the single veggie pizza on the menu. Instead they offered to swap the pepperoni on their spicy Americano pizza for an alternative of our choice. Quick service and pleasant staff.

Excellent quality food that satisfies on many levels. Being surrounded by wonderful wines from around the world is delightfully tempting. The staff are always friendly yet efficient and we’re getting to know them🤭 but make sure you book for the evenings to avoid disappointment or pop in at odd times to enjoy and more exclusive experience.

First let me say that it’s my fault no photos. I had left the phone back in the hotel. What an exquisite place. A wine boutique with an excellent restaurant. The best meal we had on our visit. My partner had ‘one of the best steaks ever’! I had a splendid lamb curried shank. The wine was a Turkish organic red, which to quote Micheal Winner was historic. The service staff were excellent, absolutely top notch. The atmosphere was restrained considering all the wine bottles covering the walls. This evening will be remembered for a long time.

Tuesday evening visit, I am not one of the numerous 'local guides' but a visitor on business. I visited based on the reviews and was not disappointed. I chose the steak pie which came with the most delicious chips I have ever eaten in a restaurant and I chose a side of green vegetables. I am lost to find the most fitting superlatives to describe what I ate and therefore I am struggling to get across how amazing this dish was. The pie was full of steak, the pastry light and the flavour - incredible. The vegetables were cooked absolutely perfect for my taste with the broccoli not to soft and not too 'al dente'. The pudding was a Hungarian cake which was absolutely amazing, I have never seen this on a menu anywhere else and would definitely recommend it. Overall I would give this venue far more stars than this app will allow. Could not recommend highly enough. Thank you to all the staff and of course the chef.

If you only have one meal in Isle of Man, then look no further than Wine Down! The entire dinning experience was absolutely outstanding! The fact that you can choose your own bottle on their wine shop adds to the uniqueness of this quaint little restaurant! Our server Lyla went above and beyond to ensure that we had an amazing dining experience! Her recommendations were spot on, especially the steak pie with red wine sauce which was delicious! My wife loved her seafood pie, and we both truly enjoyed the cream of mushrooms soup. The atmosphere is very chilled and of European style, and the open kitchen concept is awesome. Phenomenal food, incredible service, and beautiful presentation! Thank you to our sommelier Anne and our server Lyla for a wonderful dinning experience!

Stunning wine bar in an unusual part of town - always full and best to make a reservation. A seemingly endless wine list and bottles upon bottles on the walls sets the mood for some exquisite food.

What a lovely concept, wine and food! I dropped in for a cheeky glass of wine, they have racks of the stuff, with a range you can try by the glass. There are two large rooms, one food, one drink but as I found out, you can eat in the drink area. If you buy by the bottle, every bottle can be bought for your table (or taken away) and you are assured of expert advice from the owner on what to try and buy, I watched with delight as she recommended wines from the stacks of options. They have a lovely food menu so dropped in without booking and they happily (for me) seated me in the 'wine' room. The food is amazing from start(er) to finish. The food was so nice that I booked a table so I wouldn't be turned away! The owners are really passionate about what they are doing and that flows down to their staff, who actually love what they do and love the island they live on, passing on places and things to do. The highlight was the beef wellington, it was the steak you dream that a steak should be! A close 2nd would go to the shellfish tart, it would have been 1st but for the wellington. So a beautiful fusion of fine wine and fine food. I do hope to come back.

Had a great evening dining here in Jul-24. The service was fantastic and the food and wine delicious. The very small dining room makes for a cosy and intimate experience, and it was easily the best meal we had on the Isle of Man. I would thoroughly recommend Enzo's.

This small restaurant serves delicious foods. It was my first time to had a lunch yesterday afternoon. And it was a good one. I like the duck liver parfaits, the presentation was nice and the taste was even nicer.

Good service, food is above my expectations. Worth a try if you are craving for seafood or Italian food. Went there for the lobster but due to bad weather I got to settle for risotto. Will try next time.

Super friendly service from the 2 ladies that served me combined with tasty food a good choice of drinks and a bit of upbeat background music. Located close to the Mannin Hotel which made it perfect for me and I will return next time I visit the IoM.

The “Titans” skewers are amazing. Bug portions so you don’t really need a starter. I do recommend that you book because it was busy. Also, ask about their desserts because I couple I’ve never heard of, they may have named themselves. Only negative is they had ran out of lamb and it was a little noisy, the steak titan was still an amazing substitute and the staff were great though.

First time in the Isle of Man and came here for dinner with work colleagues. Steak was amazing and the garlic sauce is to die for... Definitely recommend the Philly cheese steak... Comes with fries and salad in the price. Think it was £32, all in. Friendly service, open kitchen. Flambé prawns were a let down if I'm honest but the pork belly looked good. Focaccia was nice too. We didn't have dessert so can't comment. Would definitely come back for the main course though. One of the tastiest ways I've had steak served.

The best place to eat on the Isle of Man, and possibly further afield than that! My absolute go to for birthdays and any every event! Never had anything on the menu that disappointed me. Unbelievable 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I just fancied a kebab but didn't want any gubbage from the paddock. 9 mins down the bank it said, there in 7. Olives and the classic titan. Thought it was a bit pricey, but hey its TT. Well I'm stuffed, the meat was delicious and juicy. It was a bit of a show piece meal to, chips were bang on a was the sauce and the salad was fresh and crispy. The service ...... outstanding, attentive and it was all served with a joyous smile. I just love this island

Lovely pub with some great memorabilia remembering Norman wisdom. Barman gave small tasters of their range of beers.

One of the best Indian food, if not THE best. I have visited multiple cities and places but this one is surly one of the best in multiple aspects. Authentic Indian food (not Bangladeshi flavours).. super friendly and helpful servicing staff, good location, and over all good seating area. They were really nice and accommodated out small out of menu request where possible. Very attentive staff and service. They have one of the best chefs in the UK. Sad I couldn’t see the person behind the tasty food :( I highly recommend Malai kofta and mango lassi. Only one thing that comes to my mind where they can improve: starter portions are small and I thought it could have been a little larger. Garlic naan can be a little better. A little higher on the price but it is expected, considering the location and tourist oriented business. Should cost roughly £25 per person. Overall I couldn’t recommend this place more. If I come to the isle again, this is a must visit for me again.

We were at Isle of Mann for 5 days and we had our dinner everyday here. It’s one of the best places where we could find authentic Indian cuisine! The people are the nicest here and have been extremely sweet. They also did customise our order for our liking.We got to taste their chettinaad chicken curry, fish curry, Prawn chukka, Egg rice, squid fry, naans and butter rotis, desserts. Everything was simply amazing and tasted like home❤️ We are definitely coming back again!

Desiccated coconut in coconut rice was the biggest negative surprise, even bigger than the queenies with raw ginger and stale lettuce. 2nd time today I couldn't finish the beer, it was flat and sour like vinegar (standard for an ale but an absolute disaster for a pilsner) - maybe it's a local custom? Lamb alone was OK, but the portion was tiny. Such a shame. Service was OK, nice background music not intrusive but fully controllable by anyone who connected to the WiFi - I could change the tracks and volume myself.

If you would love to eat an authentic Indian cuisine that is the place! The food is delicious the staff are very friendly. Would recommend everyone to try it.👏👏

Food was absolutely beautiful. Really delicious and authentic. However the service was quite a letdown unfortunately. We made a reservation for 4-5 people @ 19:30 but had to wait 15 minutes for a table for the 4 of us to open up. Our drinks took a very long time, as did our starters. We were charged for an extra beer, an extra glass of wine and an extra set of dips. I wouldn’t mind but the server came back a second time to enquire about the extra beer. Other than this, we had a lovely time and enjoyed our food. Maybe we just caught them on a bad day as I had been told service here was generally very good.

The food on Isle of Man in general is top notch when it comes to standards and there is quite a few top indian restaurants on the island. However, Aura just edges it for me. The mappas curry is one in my favourites. I highly recommend if your after a curry you get it served with the Thali platter as it upgrades the curry experience with all the dips and breads. Staff are very welcoming, friendly and like a chat. Rajesh who runs it is always there to help and is a genuinely pleasant and friendly man. I would highly recommend Aura to anyone thats on the island and looking for a tasty high-quality Indian meal.

We were impressed with the reviews so decided to go. We were served pompadoms rapidly but had to wait one hour before our main course was served and they got our order wrong. The food portions were generous and food reasonable. We left a relatively generous tip despite the delays and mistakes and on the way out said that we could not take the unfinished bottle of water as there was a deposit on the bottle (we returned the empty bottle the next day). A disappointing experience for us but maybe the rush of customers during the Manx Grand Prix was a contributing factor.

Lovely Italian food, great service, community atmosphere, just amazing

As lovers of Italian cuisine, we approached La Piazza with hopeful hearts and empty stomachs. Sadly, we left with the bitter aftertaste of regret – and what we think was supposed to be garlic. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted not with “Buona sera!” but with the kind of cold indifference that makes you wonder if you accidentally wandered into someone’s private kitchen during a family argument. No welcome, no smile, and certainly no atmosphere – unless you count the stifling, furnace-like heat. We genuinely considered ordering gelato just to survive. Now, to the food – if you can call it that. The garlic bread arrived first, and so did the butter – all of it. Swimming in what can only be described as a garlic oil slick, the bread was less “crispy antipasti” and more “soggy sponge from a vampire repellent ad campaign.” Then came the mains. Ever had the sense that your pasta sauce came from aisle 3 of a supermarket – probably labelled “value range”? We did. A sad, lifeless concoction that somehow managed to taste of absolutely nothing. It was as though the chef had made a solemn vow to remove every trace of flavour out of respect for… well, nobody knows. And for this privilege? Prices that would make a trattoria in Florence blush. The food may not have been authentically Italian, but the bill certainly screamed “Tourist Trap!” To sum it up: La Piazza feels like someone googled “Italian restaurant” and gave up halfway through reading the Wikipedia entry. If this was a tribute to Italy, it should come with a formal apology to the Italian embassy. Do yourself a favour: skip this one. Go eat literally anywhere else. Or just have a nice dream about pizza – it’ll probably be more satisfying.

Decided to come to the HQ Bar for the Early Burns Night as we use to go here years ago for there Steak Nights ... Which were great value for money.... The Service was very good the two staff on duty worked hard to get the meals out to all there for the 3 course dinner which was tasty but we would've liked more mash and more vegetables with the haggis as the price was £40 per head which was a bit expensive for what we had....Two whiskey's we were given during the meal but the dinner was suppose to start at 7 but didn't get started til after 7.30...All in all food was good but prices have risen quite a bit ... Comfortable seating & nice decor....

we where in HQ Hotel in June 25, to be fair if we could give a negative ranking, we would. The service was more than poor; the staff did not take our complaints seriously at all. The hotel claims to have a 4-star rating and states in their own materials that rooms are cleaned daily. However the room was never cleaned during our stay he bed was made occasionally, but this you can not claim for cleaning. We had to take out the trash ourselves and even organize towels and toilet paper ourselves , which is unacceptable for a hotel of this supposed standard. This level of service is completely unacceptable and made our stay very uncomfortable; as mentioned already even after complaining nothing had changed. We would have changed the Hotel but during the TT it was not possible to find available Hotels as we where traveling in a bigger group. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and will definitely not return. The Restaurant was the opposite.

Tried the restaurant for the first time last eeek and we were so impressed have returned and had the same experience. Ash the manager is excellent with the waitress B it’s a excellent team the service is spot on the food is excellent I tried the steak tonight well cooked and presented with my wife who is vegan loved her choice. Cannot recommend highly just book and try you will not b disappointed

Excellent service. We were welcomed to the restaurant as we weren't guests at the hotel. The chef came and spoke to us on more than one occasion to introduce himself and to see we were enjoying our meal. The quality of the food and the presentation and the manner in which it was cooked was first class. 5 stars from us. Don't hesitate to give HQ a visit

Had the best meal with two friends last evening. We all had different food and each and all of us enjoyed every morsel. Beautifully cooked food, three courses, clean plates. Staying at the hotel, dined alone for a quick dinner. Casual attire. Ordered duck bao bun and surf n turf (lobster tail). Steak was super tender at medium rare. Both dishes were very nice. Service was good.

The service we received here was subpar. Ordered a steak cooked medium-rare, when it arrived it was well done. No one ever bothered to check in on us after the food arrived so we weren't able to address the issue. It's not like the restaurant was busy either, the dining room was less than 25% full.

Enjoyed a lovely evening meal here with good service, in fairly large seafront restaurant. This just means you have a good spacing between tables so people dont feel the need to shout over each other. Makes the vibe a lot more relaxed. Food was very good and the staff were happy and polite. The steak was cooked perfectly and was a good cut - a simple thing a lot of places get wrong. Everyone had a good meal with good wine and were very happy overall.

Has both Al a carte menu and menu of the day. Staff very attentive and friendly. Would definitely recommend.

My partner and I celebrated our anniversary here and I absolutely cannot recommend this place enough. The staff were all lovely, the food was incredible and the experience was fantastic. By far the best fine dining experience I have had, and at a very fair price ! Hats off to all:)

A nice place on the prom for lunch. Has both an a la carte menu and a set lunch menu - which we had. Pork belly was excellent and the lemon creme brulee was amazing.

Extremely disappointed. Make a dinner appointment for 31 Jan 2022 online, then walk down the restaurants during this rainy day. And then, it was closed?! I didn’t receive any notification from the booking system. Made a complaint immediately by messaging the restaurant on Facebook, and then they’re saying “The best thing is to call us”? So what is your booking system for? They gave me an explanation, saying that the system didn’t notify my bookings, okay fine then I go to the Facebook page to check. But they don’t even post a feed saying that the restaurant is closed for today, which means I might not be the only one who suffered this disappointment. I’m utterly disappointed by this irresponsible behavior, and will not visit this restaurant again.

visited this place for dinner Friday evening. the deco is very much in line with the restaurant theme. The place is clean and has a lot of staff. The service is interesting with overly engaged staff. Multiple people come over to ask the same question. The food was delivered to the table 8-10 mins within the time of order which I would say is a bit concerning as I would question if it was freshly made or preheated. I would say the taste of the curry was very good but the fried rice was a bit soggy very little rice.

We were really looking forward to eating here we’ve heard so many good things about here. Serves was good very helpful. Good was excellent. Fast service. Would highly recommend.

Excellent tasting food in a really beautiful setting on the outskirts of Douglas. We made reservation for four, which was a good idea because seating is limited. Everything tasted fabulous! Plenty of parking out front. Can't wait to go back! 😁

The Thai dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. Each dish celebrated a harmony of flavors , Combined with attentive service and a welcoming atmosphere, it was a truly memorable culinary journey into Thai cuisine.

Getting take out from time to time from here and for the first time we did not enjoy the food. My chili basil stir fry had a slice of onion even though per my allergy we ordered without and to my surprise I stumbled upon an egg shell!

Very disappointed! Store bought starters and nan bread. The fact I had water separated between my curry and the bottom of my plate indicates its been reheated in a microwave! Such a shame as we used to love this place and would have highly recommended.

Warm welcome from the staff, there is a good selection on the menu, and the food I had was excellent. The only complaint is that the portions are huge so I could not finish it all. Definitely worth a visit if you want good food.

Called in at 18:30 on a Thursday night without a reservation and got a table. The staff were friendly and helpful. The menu has some dishes I've not had before but I thoroughly recommend the Kozhi Varutharachathu. By 20:00, the restaurant was just about full.

We went for Afternoon Tea on Mother's Day this year (2018) . Unfortunately it's the worst Afternoon Tea I have ever experienced. We had to ask for tea? When the sandwiches came out the bread was stale. The filling tasted like it had gone off. There were 4 tiny triangles of cold, stale, hard "cheese on toast" How the chef though it was acceptable to send that out to eat, is beyond me! The second course wasn't much better. The scones were definitely not home made and for what we paid, (£66 for 4 people) it was absolutely atrocious! The atmosphere was as flat as the scones and all in all it was extremely disappointing. The only compensation was the company of my children and grand daughter. Very very poor indeed and I would not recommend this place to anyone!

Food was bland and tasteless. I ordered the sea bass and was charged £16 for half a piece of sea bass on 3 little potatoes. People I was with ordered the fish and chips and was advised the fish was seas bass. They got two pieces of sea bass and paid half price??? Understaffed. I rarely write reviews but I felt this is one of the worst places I have eaten on the island. Won't be coming back.

Disappointing afternoon tea. Where to begin. Booked afternoon tea for my mum's birthday. What we got was not afternoon tea. Waited several minutes before anyone asked if we would like drinks, yes, that's what we're here for. After quite a further wait plates of sandwiches arrived, with potato salad on the side and a bowl of crisps! No cake stand as expected. After about a further half an hour another plate arrived with dry and boring tiny pieces of slab and loaf cakes, s huge scone and jam., The plates weren't even China, looked like heavy stoneware denby. Their chef needs to have a look through Mrs Beeton's cookery book. I've had quite a few in my time over many years and probably the worst afternoon tea I've experienced

Dreadful. The tea was cold and tasteless. One of the people serving was chewing gum. We were sat near the entrance to the kitchen and every time the kitchen door opened there were horrible stale cooking smells.

The restaurant is located on the promenade and was a beautifully presented. Clean and fresh. Our meals were very tasty and enjoyed my wine. Overall a good experience..

Tasteless fillings in the sandwiches. No tongues for the sugar cubes. Not impressed with the cake selection. The scones though were lovely.

Since the recent refurbishment, new menus have been introduced and the food is better. The restaurant is now bright and modern and the staff are very pleasant and welcoming.

Friendly staff. No probs as we hadn't booked Made very welcome, advise offered with specials explained. Food very authentic not a pizza in sight. The garlic bread side dish was fantastic though very large when it came up. Go with a large appetite you won't regret it . Thanks for a lovely evening.

A warm and friendly welcome, excellent food, excellent service and a great ambiance i. I have been visiting the Isle of Man for many years and have only just discovered this gem. I'll definitely be going back the next time I'm here. Thanks for a great meal guys.

Update: been back three times now as regular visitors to the Island and still just as happy as we were the first time. ------------------------ Stumbled upon this little hideaway of a restaurant, staff really friendly, food amazing, will definitely go back.

Delicious food. Fantastic Restaurant. Always a must when we come to the Island.

Incredible. Even the bowl of olives was divine.

What food? We never even saw a menu. The "bartender" didn't know where anything was, couldn't pour anything but beer and he couldn't even do Guinness correctly, and when we ordered cocktails that were clearly on the menu he told me to wait until they got someone who knows how to make them. He said he's not a regular there, but if he's going to fill in, he should know what he's doing and at the VERY least be polite. And by the way, this is not a distillery. It's a damn bar. And not a good one.

I have to first mention Charlie on the bar. Absolutely made our night as we went out for early cocktails (2 teens and 2 adults). Nothing was too much trouble. Our request for not on the menu, virgin cocktails , was served with a smile. We had been attracted by the glow, the Christmas lights and so on. And it didn't disappoint. Lovely atmosphere. Blazing fire stacked with logs. Even the chips from Kurries and Steaks were amazing. I can't thank you enough. Highly recommended

This is an interesting place as it is a shared space incorporating a bar distillery and Thai restaurant the later being a separate business, we were there to use the restaurant and have a drink. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. My only grumble would be that the restaurant service was very slow and it wasn't busy . Having said that I would recommend this place just don't be in a hurry

Now this review, as all ours, are based on the TOILETS of this premises. We believe that regardless of your fancy bar, nice food and cool décor, if you’re toilets are disgusting then you FAIL. Going to the loo is a BASIC function and this should be at the top of the list when considering customers. WOW – I’ll say it again, WOW.. I only have 2 pictures that I took so not a great view to see the layout etc, but rest assured, this is one of the nicest pub toilets I have ever been to. Clean, modern, nice handles, nice mirrors, everything about it was perfect.. Not much more I can add really, if there was the option to add 6 stars, I would. I also visited during the last TT week so it could well have been a bit tired from the 2 weeks festivities, but NO – prefect. Remember, you’re only as good as your toilet.

Slightly unusual bar, very lively and busy, with a wide range of drinks. Own distillery out the back making all sorts of spirits such as white rum and vodka.

Came here for tour and tasting and really enjoyed it. Great to hear the history of Gin and to taste the wide variety available. Stayed for food as well and so glad we did as it was 5* quality at a very reasonable price. Staff are great as well which made the whole experience outstanding. If you are in Douglas then come her if you are elsewhere on the island then travel to Douglas so you can come here!

What a shame, I rarely write a mediocre review but my take away tonight wasn't great. Sheek kebab was dry tasteless colour mince, over cooked and lost its moisture and will to impress. My wife's korma had overcooked prawns, like rubber sadly and really over sweet sauce. I went safe with Chicken Tikka Masala, it was passable... First time I have ever had sultanas in a coconut rice.... first time for me and maybe I have been spoilt in the past with good curry houses...

I’ve ordered from Taste of Bengal for years and it has always been top notch. Getting an Indian takeaway is a rare treat for me due to the high cost but as it was payday and we’ve worked super hard settling into our new house, I thought I’d reward myself with a curry. What can I say? This is utterly inedible. Dripping with oil and absolutely no flavour. Not one single item had a redeeming feature. All bland, greasy, lukewarm and disappointing. I can’t eat this, it’s just awful. Such a shame as this used to be a great takeaway.

Food was nice. Usually Biryani dish in any Indian resturant is a big dish but here it was served in a bowel same amount as curry (small portion). It tasted great. My Garlic Naan I prefer to be abit more crispy. But in generall its a nice resturant.

The service was excellent. The food first class. But we needed more. Price was £60 for 2 which is ok with drinks, but we wanted more to eat. Lamb chops were recommended and delicious. Special lamb was nice but small portion and very salty in taste. Mixed chutney tray all tasted fresh and homemade. Worth a try if you like quality over quantity. Garlic naan bread spot on.

What a fantastic Indian restaurant the best Indian meal we all have had in a long time. We visited as part of a group of 7 (One of the race teams at the Classic TT) whilst we were on the island. We all loved the food so much that we visited again early the following evening and we had not booked but we were accommodated with a table straight away. We highly recommend this Indian Restaurant excellent food and great service we will be visiting when we return next year.

Beautiful authentic food. Never tasted anything like it. Certainly nothing like the usual English Indian restaurant food Five in our group on a biking weekend. We visited on Saturday evening and we're hungry after a day riding all around the Island. The food and drinks were spot on. Staff attentive and humorous. We most definitely will visit again next time we're in Douglas.

A gorgeous meal vegetable chettinad which was so tasty and I asked for it madras hot; my husband had the ribeye tandoori steak with masala chips both dishes were amazing and we eat in a lot of Bangladeshi “Indian “ restaurants in the UK but this is up there with the best; staff are friendly and would definitely recommend

Wonderful, beautifully presented and tasted as good as it looked.

Having eaten a fair bit of Indian cuisine in our time, our relatively critical foody family group were agreed this was one of the best ever (and that is high praise) . Simply superbly cooked dishes with authentic, varied and delicate flavours. Not a single dish was average (we shared all dishes - would recommend this approach to sample the variety). From the bhargi to the breads to subtle side sauces - all grade 1. The chef sent out food which expressed such a knowledge of ingredients, combinations and a real love of cooking. Good friendly service too. FLAVOURS is a little gem and IOM is very lucky to have it. For me, for Indian food taste and quality, beats anything currently in Oxford, London, Sydney or Swansea.

All the Thai Thai favourites but in a pub. Delighted it's back and it works well in the new setting.

We ate at Thai Thai yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We ordered three different dishes (peanut chicken, udon noodles with crispy pork belly, and beef massaman curry), all of which were delicious! The service was quick and efficient. Thai Thai food is good. Unfortunately when going to watch football now the bar staff say ‘it’s a Thai restaurant not a bar’ so no volume even when the restaurant is closed, madness.

Very disappointed, went to watch the football and then was going to eat Thai Thai but the man behind the bar refused to put the volume on the tv for the football after countless people requested it so we had to leave. Just a restaurant now no atmosphere at all!

A great restaurant to celebrate or have a quiet dinner. Plenty of choice of seating namely 4 areas/rooms plus outdoor seating. Staff are excellent.

We ordered mixed platter for £15 which stated it was mixed meats and cheeses and crackers of the day. We got cream crackers and water crackers, dried up cheddar slices, brie and mozzarella ....Obviously we were bot happy and said to waitress. She sent another waitress down with plate to as what was wring, she sent the manager down to see whatbwas wrong, we basically said that we expected better for £15. The manager in t-shirt and jeans looking rough and we think rather drunk rang the police and followed us down the street for a mile until I started videoing him. Have never in life came across such professional behaviour from restaurant staff. Absolutely disgraceful. We went to next restaurant and manager there said it is a sackable offence for staff to be drunk on duty.

Had a business lunch today with 6 colleagues and high hopes but left disappointed. Food took forever and we seemed to be the only ones eating. When it turned up the 'flatbread' was a foccicia and mediocre. Service somewhat lacking and we left thinking we might come back for cocktails but not to eat

What a gem in the heart of the North Quay, Douglas. Relaxed atmosphere and great staff. Excellent beers and awesome food. If you looking for something different Da Vinci's is perfect.

Great tapas for a light meal with a drink. The spicy meatballs are great and the lesser spotted calamari is a rarely found treat, perfectly cooked.

Very nice service and food all in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. We also use their take away delivery service a lot and find it very prompt as well as tasty The portions are pretty big too and often lasts two days so good vfm.

The staff here are very rude and when they made the mistake of not bringing out a part of my order, they accused me of not ordering it, dispite it being clearly written on the order sheet on the bill in the middle of everyone else's orders so it couldn't of been added after I brought it up that it was missing when my order came out. The selection of beers are minimal and had to be taken to the little bar area to be shown because the server forgot what they had. The only good things I can see if that there was plenty of space as it was empty and the food was okay.

We absolutely love Mrs Yang's. We've just been for my Dad's birthday on Sunday. There were 8 of us and the food was hot, fresh and tasty. The service was wonderful, as usual.

You can truly enjoy authentic Chinese cuisine here—the flavors are just like in China. They even offer personalized dishes that aren’t on the menu. The atmosphere and décor are also excellent.

Food is OK but nothing special in my eyes (I had a cheeseburger). For the rest it's awesome! We had a lot of fun during Thursday's evening stand-up, quiz and karaoke! Thanks for a night to remember. See you next time!

Great restaurant on the first floor. Prebooked a few days before. What ever you pick on the menu you will not be disappointed. Restaurant Manager also made us an "Old Fashioned" cocktail as a special request as it was not on the cocktail menu. Highly recommend this place the food all tastes great. There is also a carvery on a Sunday until 6pm.

Our third time here and it was delicious every time! Waitresses and hostesses are always nice and accommodating. It does get pretty busy during brunch time and have to wait and be seated and the food take long to come out which is understandable. Will come back again.

We arrived at 19.50 the kitchen closes at 19.45, yet they still made us the most delicious mash and Southern chicken strips with a peppercorn sauce and a fish and chips. Staff super friendly and helpful. Live singer on until 9.30 who's really funny. Great evening and its literally 2mins away from the Premier Inn

Fantastic meal at 1886, we both had fajitas which where lovely, the mac and cheese side was delicious, friendly service from Ashley and ilena. Couldn’t fault the place at all. Also the place is well designed, i actually took pictures of the bar counter top for my new kitchen at home lol

We loved this place so much we came here three times during our week long visit to Isle of Man. There are multiple stories, and it's a beautiful brick building. The alcoholic beverages here were made perfectly and the bar tenders were absolutely fantastic. Your food arrives by robot and I absolutely recommend the spaghetti carbonara. We will definitely be back here if we get to visit the Isle of Man again!!

Wonderful restaurant with very nice atmosphere, staff is friendly, respectful and polite. Food is amazing, specially lamb dishes, I really loved it. They also have a wide range of wines, some of them really nice, I recommend to try them. The location is incredible, next to the bay area, amazing views specially on sunny days, as they also have tables on the terrace. Visit 100% recommended.

I went there for tea Service is impeccable, presentation of food is meticulously studied. For starter I took prawn saganaki with feta cheese £12, ABSOLUTELY worth the price, they have some fancy water for £5 per 800ml, for the main I ordered a steak, Ribeye with risotto £25, amazing presentation, but I was not impressed. We were all happy with the food, for desert I went for the crème brûlée £7, please 😊 delicious This is not a NOT cheap restaurant to eat food to, you may need from £50 and up per person, if you drink wine or some take at least £80 with you. If you want to impress someone, you have the place to go to👍😁

Fantastic food. Not everything was available on the menu but the chef's replacement duck dish was delicious and thoroughly enjoyed by 3 out of 4 of our party. The atmosphere was calm but alive, adding to a very enjoyable evening had by all. By far the best place to dine on the Isle of man.

The best meal we had on th he Isle of Man. Excellent crepe, duck and rack of lamb. Flavorful bread and scrumptious desserts (apple tart tartan and "eclair"). The waiter we had made a wine recommendation that complimented our meals. It was a really great experience!

This restaurant is very good. The service is satisfactory, and the food tastes very well. There are two things I want to comment on that bring it “down” to 4 stars. First, when you serve bread, don't bring out two tiny slices of simple white bread. It almost seemed like two small slices of baguette. It was as borderline silly. There was more butter than bread. Secondly, my girlfriend ordered lamb chop. She got two pieces. The table next to us ordered the same and got three pieces of lamb chop. That was a bit unreasonable. But overall. The place is good, and a great dinner in Douglas.

Exceptional food and value for money. I really don’t understand how this understated place remains in the shadow of some of its neighbouring restaurants in online guides to the island. The palate and skills of the chefs shine through and service was both professional and friendly. Can’t wait to return - please don’t change - it felt like we caught you at the perfect time.

Had our wedding meal here following registry ceremony. It was absolutely amazing and the staff were fantastic and made it very special going above and beyond. Great gluten free options too.

The best bao buns ever had.. not too many ingredients but cripsy prawn paired with sweet chilli really brings out the best of all. Ordered one and liked it so much ordered 2 more.. must try place.

New Hong Kong is a charming restaurant, and as a fellow Hongkonger, it’s heartening to see some representation on an island where ethnic minorities, especially those from Hong Kong, are few and far between. The atmosphere felt welcoming, and I appreciated the effort to create a space that nods to our culture. That said, the menu doesn’t quite reflect authentic Hong Kong cuisine. Most dishes lean toward general Chinese fare, with several items influenced by Korean and Japanese cooking. While the food was enjoyable, it didn’t capture the distinct flavors or culinary identity of Hong Kong. On a positive note, the service was excellent - friendly, attentive, and professional. The food itself was good, even if not what I’d hoped for in terms of authenticity.

Great food! Great venue but due to the TT races they worked hard but struggled to keep on top with how busy they were. However, highly recommend and I’m sure at normal times they live up to their otherwise high standards

This is one of our favourite restaurants on the Island. We have been here loads of times and it’s guaranteed to get a great meal! Tonight my youngest decided to have her 11th birthday meal here and once again, food was spot on! Really couldn’t fault it. Kids love their garlic chicken and fried rice. We love the kimchi fried rice, and char siu buns but the below photos of pork gyoza, sechuan dumplings and the specials are definitely 10/10. Oh and service is always brilliant too! Highly recommended!

One of the best meals we’ve ever had. Service was incredible! The ramen we had was better than any ramen we had in Bali and Thailand, and the bao buns were unreal! Keung is an incredible bloke as well! Would give 6 stars

The food was amazing, and the starters were a great size and well worth it — definitely very filling and a great option if you're not too hungry. I had ordered the kimchi and salted pork soup and it was amazing, it was such a lovely taste and the warmth was very comforting in the colder weather outside. I had also ordered the pork ramen, which was delicious too and the broth tasted amazing, unfortunately I couldn't finish it but the big portion size is great for if you're feeling very hungry. For my drink the Lychee lemonade was great, a strong yet sweet taste, definitely recommend. My girlfriend got the chicken curry and said it was very lovely. They got the cherry blossom gin which also tasted great. The environment and staff are very friendly too, welcoming you in and slight conversation. A very friendly environment that makes it very comfortable to sit in — bonus, I think the interior is very beautiful. Very cosy. Would definitely come again in the future.

I was looking for a place to eat, I found old reviews, but I wanted to try, the food was good, the service was fast and the personal in the restaurant friendly, they answered any question I asked regarding to the menu and everything I wanted to eat they said yes!, very happy 😊

Very expensive, and hugely disappointing. After reading the rave reviews, we decided to deviate from the pizza place, across the way! And treat ourselves to a Chinese. The portions were plentyful, and the service was great. But the food was nothing other than bland and unusual. We got a classic beef curry with fried rice. The fried rice was anemic . The meat was the only part that was actually quite nice, although the wife said it was chewy . The curry sauce was horrible. A lot of food went to the seagulls. We'll avoid the place in the future. An expensive mistake, not to be repeated. I'm very surprised that they have been established since 1985. Food tasting like that, would have been closed down within 12 months (across)

We were taken for a meal at China town and all I can say is amazing, the people were very nice, well mannered and polite and the food was amazing, can't wait to go back and enjoy some more glorious food. 10 out of 10

Honestly, this is the best curry I have ever had - the spices just exploded on the palate, not too hot, creamy and smooth. The food was simply delish from the starters through the main course. The owners were extremely pleasant and attentive - ensuring that our experience was top notch. I cannot say enough about the quality of the food. This is a fantastic restaurant and not to be confused with a regular cheap and cheerful curry house in say Birmingham,Bradford or Rusholme. 5* from me all around.

Lovely people, service, and food. I was in Douglas for 3 days and lucked into going here on the first night—and then twice more! They have chittinad (which I haven’t had or even seen anywhere since leaving New Zealand) and it was fantastic. 3 cheese naan also recommended.

We arrived late off the boat and Orange Indya fit us in even though they were really busy and it was late in the evening. The food was really excellent with the Queenie scallops starter a real standout. Probably the best meal we had while in Douglas. Would definitely visit again.

Best Curry on Isle of Man, definitely Indian cuisine, so not your average takeaway but lovely meal. The service was fantastic, the staff really made sure that you had a lovely meal and actually cared that you enjoy your meal, not seen too often on the Isle of Man unfortunately. Definitely recommend.

Delicious festive 3-course menu with lots of interesting variety and exciting flavours. King scallops were exceptional, as were the fried gnocchi in lemon cream sauce. Champagne served by the glass too which is a special treat, along with wonderful cocktails (especially the espresso martini and the French 75). We had our small (quiet) dog with us too, which is hugely appreciated. Thanks for a delightful evening!

Food were Above Average -nothing special. But the staffs behaviour & attitude were disgusting, rude. They hung up 4 times in a row!! Totally unacceptable. I just called them to know where was my delivery as it was 70 min till my order. My house is only 6 min away and common restaurants of Telford used to deliver me within 20-30 min of order even from Whillington ,not 70-80 min!! Please avoid them totally . Nothing worthy.

Ordered a few Value Ocean boxes through the google maps tabs and was ready when i arrived. Found what you got was great quality and fab price. Very pleased. Had a slight issue with the order but staff sorted it for me. On another note as I left i saw the battered chips and that is seriously on my list next time. Place also smelt amazing and well maintained. Extremely clean. Thanks.

OMG what can I say. Moved from Dudley area to Telford 4 months ago where my local chip shop did the best battered chips. Now I've found Ocean and their battered chips are AMAZING!!! We had 2 large bags with 2 saveloy and 2 sausage. I was getting full..lol but just couldn't stop eating them. 😋 I'll be coming back 👍

I just came here and had the most awful experience and thus will not be coming back. The attitude from the staff and owner was one thing. After telling the chef/owner to heat up a naan, he took two out of the freezer and went to go heat them and didn’t look too happy about it. The lady serving was coughing everywhere and making that snot gargling sound to clear mucus over the food, she then dropped my naan on the floor and said she would replace it, went back to the kitchen and I swear she gave me the same one as he only took two out for me and my partner. She didn’t bin it in front of me and he didn’t go in the freezer to get another one. The most unhygienic atmosphere, never mind the just eat guy going behind their counter touching everything with his dirty hands. I looked closer at the onions and there was a HAIR in the onions they give you for salad. Me and partner went to asda and did not eat the food we paid for. Absolutely horrendous.

Placed online order delivered in a short time. Large Fish was superb cooked well batter tasty, chips cooked well and just right. Food was still really hot on delivery which was by delivered by Just Eats. Thankyou Ocean Bar staff.

Ordered through Just eats. The fish and chips were very oily and soggy. The oil had an unusual taste, and we started feeling nauseated halfway through. Unfortunately, majority of the food had to go into the bin. But the masala fish was alright.

Wow highly recommended this fish shop We really enjoyed our food. Fish and chips, salt and pepper squid 🐙 but our favourite were the Manx Queenies in garlic. We sat outside under a canopy on a walkway. Please give this place a try you won't be disappointed

Honestly, it's the best fish I've had in a long time, if not ever...... wow... excellent food, great service.. situated right across from the waterfront. With tables to eat in or outside and take away. I asked the staff a few questions related to my holiday, and they had great local knowledge and where happy to help.....

We asked for a small and large fish and chips to takeaway, with mushy peas with both. Unfortunately, when we got back, the fish turned out to be two small pieces with hardly any batter on and the peas were missing. Disappointed to have spent over £20 to essentially be overcharged for an incorrect order and missing items. Most of it went into the bin, which was a shame as we had been looking forward to it.

There was a bit of a wait, but it was friday so there was alot of customers. Food was delicious. They didnt have a gluten free fish batter, but they grilled a fish for my grandma who doesnt eat gluten.

Rang up Saturday night to place an order for Sunday lunch. Very pleasant guy on the telephone who took my order and told me what desserts they had to. Great friendly service. Good price to. Order arrived before my chosen time of 1pm which was just what I wanted. Dinners arrived hot and there was so much food, great tray of food and lots on offer in a foil tray. Food was wonderful and plenty of it and so tasty. Also had desserts as well again these were of a good size and ice cream. Really great service from the Savoy, and we thank you for our food will definately order again If you haven't ordered before do it today we really enjoyed our meal

Excellent seafood, the queenies and king scallops were delicious as was the lobster. The crab linguini was also good but could have used more crab in it. For the money it was fine, perhaps a little towards the more expensive end for Douglas. Service was very good and attentive but we were almost the only people in the restaurant.

Had a meal here during the TT fortnight. They were open late which was a great help as the racing was delayed. A warm welcome awaited us. The food was wholesome and portions were large. We were stuffed when we left. I had the chorizo and port linguine. The garlic bread pizza is truly a gem, worth having on the side. My only gripe was the meatballs were on the dryer side. Otherwise a good meal.

Absolutely delicious! Very generous portions, fresh local seafood from soroundings, impeccable service, a great cook and the waiting time was short. Highly, very highly recommend it!

What a lovely time we had at the Fig and Olive. We came as a family with our young grandchildren and they made us so very welcome. The food was very tasty. My husband said his was the best pizza he had ever had. The staff were very pleasant and were so good to our grand daughters. We all had a wonderful time.

1st time visitors and we will come back. Food was generally good and looking at plates around me appreciated by customers. I think I would come back for Pizza the quality and value for money looked excellent. The a la carte dishes which we had were quite expensive and the complex preparation did not quite achieve its goal which when baking Fish is not easy. They were over cooked. Service was good and friendly, the atmosphere was spoilt by a single table of over exuberant diners, who eventually left. Nice family scenes and celebrations going on. We ate on a Sunday evening it was quite busy. We reserved but not sure it was the way people normally come to the restaurant, a lot of "walk ins"

Went for the Mother’s Day special. We love Brazilian food and my son treated me. I can’t rate them high enough the food was beyond amazing and tasty and so much choice on the buffet and so much meat. Great service and even got a gift and a voucher for a Mother’s Day gift. We didn’t know that was part of the day so was a lovely surprise. Will be back again soon ! They also have free wifi and the toilets were very clean as well as the restaurant. 5 stars 🌟

Table for 5 people, no pre-booking needed on this occasion. The restaurant was excellent! The service area and toilets were exceptionally clean and well kept. The food options were plentiful too. If youve not been before, you select from a buffet some salad and hot vegetable options, then the server brings round skewers of meats - chicken, beef, lamb and pork, on skewers. You can choose what you want, when you want. It is a great way to take some time to enjoy your meal with family and friends. Cocktails were brilliant, highly recommend a pink mojito. Brazilian beer was exceptional. Staff couldn't of been more attentive and knowledgeable about both food and drink.

Meat eaters dream, great selection of meats and they come in a timely fashion. Well priced and the servers were fantastic and they're all Brazilian so they add to the authenticity if the establishment. Well worth a visit.

Awful atmosphere, terrible food. Poor quality meats and infrequently offered. Rowdy customers using offensive language which went unchecked by the staff because they said the table ‘were drunk’. A far cry from the Brazilian steak restaurants we’ve experienced in Florida and Vegas. Total waste of money.

Very pleasantly surprised with our meal. We had the hake and the steak and both were excellent. The staff were brilliant, being particularly attentive to one person who has an allergy with the chefs taking the bother to come out and speak to the diner. We were told in advance it would be 20 mins wait as the food choices are freshly prepared. The wine was promptly served. The food and service were streets better than a so- called fine dining experience just down the road.

Only had breakfast in here, but it was well attended by staff. Usual full English style buffet plus fruits, pastries, meats, cheese. Only 1 coffee makers which is always busy and limited bread choice. Hardly 4 star.

We attend this restaurant regularly as the view is spectacular, the room temperature comfortable and the parking easy for my elderly parents. The staff are always friendly, pleasant and helpful. There is always a carvery with additional choices such as a curry or a bourguinon and plenty of vegetables. This can be preceeded by hot soup or a selection of cold cuts, and then a choice of deserts. You pay for the number of courses that you choose - so both the hearty eater and the morsel - taster are both catered for. It's not haute cuisine, but it makes a very pleasant place to dine-out comfortably. I certainly recommend it to those who like a little tranquility (rather than loud music) while dining.

Without a doubt the best cooked breakfast I experienced on The I.O.M. We ate here several times, breakfasts and evening meals, we were never disappointed, The Cooked breakfasts were the nicest we'd had whilst staying there a week. We were looked after very well by staff that were Polite & Friendly. Very convenient location if you are attending the TT Races. Not the cheapest, but if you want quality it costs a little more, Highly Recommended.

We were there for a funeral wake but the staff, the view the setting made everyone smile. The place and everything is truly beautiful.

Very nice Sunday Lunch at £16 plus pp without drinks . Choice of 3 meats. For just over £6 you could add a starter. Update. From a recent visit. Standards are still up there. A lot busier so improved atmosphere. Price now £18.95 for the carvery with a starter coming in at £7.95 There was a fish option which that day was salmon a s well as 3 meats. Those were Ham Beef and Turkey. All very nice indeed. Often Turkey can be dry not here.. You can choose to go vegetarian if you prefer. Ample parking alongside or more in the easy accessed Nobles Park.

We booked this hotel last minute for a four night stay to attend my cousins funeral on a bit of a Hobsons Choice as there was very little availability in the area on the dates of our stay due to the Isle of Man Grand Prix. However, we could not have been more pleased with our visit. We had a third floor room with a view over looking the sea. The room was spacious and comfortable and one of the cleanest we have ever stayed in, especially the bathroom. The staff were amazing and nothing could be too much trouble. The breakfast service was very good. The staff were welcoming and efficient and the food was freshly prepared to order to your specifications. The bar was well stocked and reasonably priced and made for a relaxing wind down before retiring to bed. The hotel itself is only 15 mins walk from the ferry terminal and close to the array of transport facilities available on the island so you can explore without the need to bring a car to the island. Local facilities are easily accessible. We had a great stay and would definitely recommend this family run hotel for a stay in Douglas.

A very pleasant family stay at a convenient location. Staff are friendly efficient and welcoming, facilities are good as is the restaurant food and the bar is comfortable and well stocked. Parking is free and reasonably plentiful in the vicinity. We had a 4th floor sea view room which was kept clean and tidy by the housekeeping team. There is a reliable lift. The hotel is only minutes away from the ferry terminal and it's well situated to explore the Isle of Man by car or public transport. Overall, I would happily recommend The Welbeck for a stay in Douglas.

I am responsible for booking Isle of Man accommodation for our clients and consultants, who travel here on business. Wherever possible we use the Welbeck - its home from home, welcoming, clean, lovely comfortable rooms and the food is excellent. We often eat there with our colleagues and the choice of perfectly cooked and locally sourced produce is wonderful. The Welbeck is family run and has been over a number of generations - we have been placing our colleagues there for so long that they are all on first name terms as soon as they arrive back. One consultant even returns with his wife he likes it that much! Simply, highly recommended.

A family run, gem of a place to stay. Just behind the prom, so very quiet. Deluxe room was light and spacious. Two singles pushed together provided a very comfortable double bed. Everything worked and ensuite was newly refurbished. Great service at breakfast, evening meal and bar. Very friendly chatty staff. Would stay again.

Room was cold, some of us had the privilege of a heater. Others down the table weren’t so lucky. All sat with coats on. Atmosphere was completely dead. Waiter was slightly awkward. Food ok but overpriced. Wouldn’t recommend.

One of the few Japanese sushi stores in Isle of Man. Slightly on the pricey side but sushi is ok.

Asia Fresh has become our go-to spot for epic food and fantastic service. The sushi at Asia Fresh is delish and the handmade Gyoza is amazing. Mark and the team consistently provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere and whether you have dietary preferences or specific requests, they always go above and beyond. The food was decent but overpriced, you have to pay extra 10% at your bill for the service, which I found that a bit odd, however we were seated next to a heater by the window and that part was great 👍🏼

I can’t lie, the food was delicious. However, this has been the most stressful dinner of my life. Firstly, there is a very misleading menu online and me and my friends had been charged an extra £20 which included their “10% service fee” which we weren’t told about until we had to pay, the menu prices online is completely different to the one in the actual restaurant which caused a lot of confusion when it came to paying. The waitress was also very unprofessional and looked miserable. Would not recommend.

Good quality food, great and friendly service. Best sushi ever tasted! Unfortunately just pricy, so saving visiting here only on special occasions.

Very friendly, fabulous food. Needs to be bigger and have one more member of serving staff to compensate, as it's so small it only justifies one waiter (owner) at the minute but he can get very busy

We visited our relatives on Isle of Man and because of the lack of Halal options, we decided to try Victoria Grill. I must say, one of the reasons people love this place on the island is because there's no Nandos here. It's a good alternative to Nandos here. The chicken was juicy and scrumptious. But the burgers and wraps are not something you should try here. We ordered a variety of food including the "new" black and blue burger. No blue cheese sauce, the roll itself was dry and thick, not edible at all. Or maybe our standards are too high. Will I visit here again? Probably not. On a lighter note, staff are friendly.

Best peri chicken on the island 🏝 my girlfriend really loves the sauce she says its better than pepes 👍 request extra sauce and try the sweet potato fries, coleslaw is also nice and the staff do what they can to make sure everything is to your taste

We went for our dinner. Good taste. Mexican wrap was good. Shawarma wrap- I would rate 8/10. Near the city centre- walkable 5-10 mins.

Very good Asian food with a great mix between Korean Japanese, Chinese and Indonesian along with Thai, which is the restaurants main focus. The menu is extensive and the prices are very fair for a restaurant located in the center of town right on the waterfront. You can enter through its own entrance or through the hotel lobby. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and it was a great break from the traditional fair we have been eating.

In short, I didn’t like the food rest everything’s is all good. So here is a detailed review.. almost everything is loaded with salt, suger and sometimes oil which may taste good with some alcohol. One of the dish was excessive on sour taste. All the drinks we tried (6) were good and some were excellent. The options in veg and vegan is good. The service is good so full points for that. We met michel who was extraordinarily good at service. The overall vibe and decode is good as well. Everything goes in vein when the main thing (food) is subpar. I don’t think I will visit the place again or recommend anyone. I have had noodles and pad Thai at multiple places but this was the worst. Such a let down when everything else works perfectly except the food. Special mention:The pumpkin vegan/veg katsu… couldn’t eat even one bit.

We waited 50 minutes (not exaggerating; we checked our watches) between finishing the (pretty good) starters and the mains arriving. After 35 minutes we asked our waiter what the delay was. Five minutes later a blonde waitress brought round the first main meal. 2 minutes later she came back to us, said ‘wrong table’ with a silly smirk and walked off with the food and no apology. When the mains finally arrived all 3 were truly poor. Vegetables in Terryaki sauce were almost raw, swimming in a sweet dishwater consistency. The chicken dish was barely lukewarm, and the sauce for the mock duck was unbelievably salty. The rice was overcooked, and the ‘papaya salad’ had no sign of papaya but instead was just carrots and cabbage and laced with raw chillies. My wife and mother-in-law left half of their meals. We complained to our waiter who got us a 10% discount but honestly, apart from the starters, it was one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had.

Food was absolutely divine, especially the sashimi. Great wines. Service was very good but seemed to have some trouble grasping what we were saying. Not sure if it was a communication issue!

If you love sushi this is the place to go! Located on the promenade in Douglas its in a stunningly beautiful part of the Isle of Man. My sushi was freshly prepared in front of me. I opted for a variety of tuna & chicken based dishes & was not dissapointed. Definitely worth a visit.

Disclaimer- i was brought up in the tourism industry and yes, I have worked in a hotel restaurant. Anyway, I made a booking for 6.30pm earlier today. I made the booking face to face around 5pm. At 6.30 I got shown to my table by the same gentleman who took my booking at 5pm. No offer of water or initial drinks order. Then my colleague joined me circa 7 mnts later but we had to wait till 15mnts after until we could attract a different wait staff to order first drinks and meal! Cut a long story short, I finally had to get up to ask the umpteenth person to walk by our area about our main course, which were our 2nd Starters. Needs more driven staff, and more organisation as to which staff is looking after which tables. You live on such a beautiful island; please Smile more.

The most fabulous food we have ever tasted and the presentation was outstanding. The staff were very attentive and very friendly. The quality of the food was 10/10 The selection of drinks was also very HIGH end offering all your top champagnes like ACE of SPADES /DOM PERIGNON /PERRIER JOUETT / CRISTAL plus a lovely wine list. VERY IMPRESSIVE Mid your ever in the IOM you must give it a whirl it’s also in a great location over looking the ocean on the sea front in Douglas. The address is the Sefton Hotel next to the opera house so easy to find next to a fabulous land mark. Pre theatre Early doors menu available and it’s open until late They also have a new bar next door called ENCORE which is also a great vibe for drinks and snacks if you don’t want a full meal with a great atmosphere and live DJ at the weekend same also a SAX player on occasion. Go have a great time like we did.

£22 for four tikka king prawns. Mental. Usually if you're being sold something at that price there's at least an effort to provide a decent salad or something. Came with the world's smallest bowl of lambs lettuce and an ice cream scoop of mash(?). Waiter lurched over me to check what level of tip I was providing.

Had the Parmesan chicken strips with chips and cheesy naan was AMAZING would absolutely go again. Also make sure to get some popadoms when you go! 5 Stars!!!

Visiting Isle of Man found it difficult to find places to eat. So I am making conscious effort to leave reviews. Very nice staff, very nice food. Friendly and accommodating staff. 2 curries, 2 rice, 2 naan + coke. All under £50 for 2 people. Would recommend and would return!

Kept passing this place and tried to visit on a number of occasions but it seems to open for just a few hours almost daily. Some of the lads that were working with us attended and they loved it. So I decided to try it out....not disappointed at all in fact I was taken aback by some of the tastiest and unique flavours that were bursting through! Thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it and i can honestly say that with a huge attempt to finish it all...I failed!! Food coma straight after as I simply couldn't move upon my return to my hotel! Will definitely revisit and sample other dishes but I will definitely steer clear of the mixed thali (bits of everything) Too much for me... but extremely flavourful and it looked beautiful when it was presented 😊

This place gets very busy & there's a reason for that, we visited early Wednesday evening & by 6pm it was beginning to fill up. (so get there early) The food here is excellent, we are lucky in that we live close to a 5 star Indian restuarant at home, but the Naadu is definitley on a par. OK, its different than we're used to, but the flavours & presentation were excellent! The staff were very helpful & friendly too. Its really difficult to find fault here, the restaurant is clean, very tastfully decorated, warm, comfortable and has a lovely atmosphere. Observations? No draught beers? The establishment also seats quite a lot, but I noticed there are only two single toilets (one of which is disabled) the other is multi-sex? On busy nights this isn't the best arrangement & so I can only hope this is closely monitored by the management. Other than that, this place is well worth a visit! Highly recommended.

Incredible place, great food, and the personal is super kind

Booked a table here during TT. We had chicken tikka and lamb for starters. Both very nice. Chicken Korma and another dish I can't remember the name of with rice, naan and jeera potatoes for main. All very tasty and well presented. It isn't what we are used to from an Indian restaurant, the menu is limited and most dishes we usually have werent available however we enjoyed the food. Probably wouldn't return but that's only due to our preference, couldn't fault the food.

Wide range of products, from gardening to clothes, lawn mowers gifts and sweets. Cafe and toilet facilities for both able and disabled. I would have given 5 star rating but for the cake I purchased in the cafe was very dry.

Good selection of items to support the garden and pet dog. Cafe was clean and tidy with drinks and food enjoyable. Only lost a star as some of the plants looked like they had seen better days…..

Everything is available for gardening.. could not visit the cafe but on a sunny day it would be a delight to sit there.
