Located at Bannisters Wharf, Clarke Cooke House offers a mix of casual and formal dining options in an 18th-century building. The upscale dining room serves fancy New England cuisine, while the Candy Store/Bistro provides a more relaxed atmosphere with simple New England fare. With its proud sailing history and iconic Americas Cup races, Newport is an ideal destination for nautical getaways, especially during the summer and fall seasons.
Great spot. We had the crab cake to start, loaded with crab and no filler. I had the pepper crusted tuna, cooked just right, and my son had penne almond chicken he didn’t leave a bite. Finished with the famous Snowball for dessert. It is that good. Cool atmosphere, great service, not too stuffy. Would definitely come back.

We came here at 1pm on a Wednesday in early Aug 2025. We sat alongside of the entrance to enjoy the beautiful weather and hustle and bustle of the wharf. Our waitress was great. She was prompt. Drinks were quick to arrive and stay topped off. We wanted a snack and not lunch, so oysters and heirloom tomato with burrata salad was just enough. Everything was so fresh. The chefs choice oysters were buttery and delicious, and the salad, bright, sweet, and the perfect partner to a beautiful summer day. Can’t wait to return!
John R — Google review
The service here was not the best, the waitress couldn’t give me descriptions of ANY of their oysters, I was pretty disappointed, however I still ordered an assortment of oysters as an appetizer and then the lobster roll has my meal. Overall the food was pretty good. Luckily my friend and I had the pleasure of sitting right next to the water! Don’t know that I would recommend this place to anyone but glad I walked in & gave it a try!

5 stars all around! This place is delicious! Off-season, Wednesday night October, and it was packed. Despite the crowd, our server was attentive and helpful. Highly recommended daily oyster selection and the clam chowder. I enjoyed the featured halibut…. Not sure how often that makes the menu, but if you see it, try it! And save room for the snowball from hell. It’s worth it! Met the GM who graciously gave us a tour and treated us like celebrities. I wish we had more time here… I’d eat here everyday!

While we were walking around the harbor in Newport, we wanted to grab a drink. When we walked by, it looked like a nice and fun place. We asked if we could sit at the bar and we were able to find two seats. There were locals and visitors alike, and we could tell we found a gem. Kevin the bartender was friendly, attentive, and made great drinks! When he left his shift, Shawn took over and made sure to keep our water glasses full. We’re so glad we stopped by that afternoon!

We came here after seeing the funny video of the assistant AG getting arrested for trespassing lol. We absolutely loved it here. The service was comfortable and not overbearing but right on time. The food was delicious! Also, every course came at the perfect time. The view of the harbor is beautiful. There’s a nautical old money feeling with surprisingly nice prices, especially for the best dinner in newport. Ultimately a great experience with no complaints. Hopefully next time we get to witness an AG be arrested.

Some of the best food we've ever tasted - the truffle appetizer was a once-in-a-lifetime delight. The lemon, honey and vanilla sauce with the asparagus appetizer was so good that we used our bread to get all of it. The duck breast and the swordfish entrees were beyond our expectation with innovative and delicious accompaniments. Dining on the third level is a once a year treat for us.

One of the best restaurants in the US. Great views. The food is delicious. Try the King Salmon, its perfectly cooked. Enjoy some excellent oysters from the region. The sushi is not bad so if you are in the mood for it, give it a try. The staff was great and knew how the chef recommends his food to be prepared. I recommend this place. So make reservations and enjoy.

The Fifth Element is a trendy American grill and bar located in the heart of Newports Broadway Restaurant District. The restaurant's stylish industrial interior provides views into an open kitchen, where seasonal, locally sourced cuisine is prepared. The decor features earthy tones, water walls, and reclaimed old-growth pine furnishings.
We dropped in to have some yummy cocktails and dessert. And how did we enjoy this place! We all had great drinks which was perfect, well balanced and tasty. We ordered the cheesecake and the hot toffee pudding, and honestly the hot toffee pudding is something else!!! Quite warm, gooey, and comforting. Would highly recommend this place!

Everything was good except for the grilled octopus which I sent back because you couldn't even chew it. Second time was better but still just ok. But the standout here was the gluten-free lamb poutine, everyone loved that!

My fiance and I went in Monday for dinner on our honeymoon and I have to say we were blown away. She got the Potato pizza and I had the Drs Orders burger (complete with syringe full of queso). The food was phenomenal, the restaurant itself was also very aesthetically pleasing, and the staff and live jazz band performing made it an even more enjoyable experience. If you’re looking for a cool spot with a creative menu and good live music in Newport I’d recommend this place hands down.

This place has become a summer staple. Service is excellent and their food is lovely. Highly recommend the salmon! Large portion and well balanced flavours. Jasper is a gem, she is a hospitality natural.

Had dinner here last week. Cool bar with a great vibe. Great bourbon and scotch selection and a fantastic cocktail list. Highly recommend the pork tacos. Food was outstanding and friendly server. We will be back next time we are in town. Highly recommend!

First time visiting was this evening and I was not disappointed. Great atmosphere, great food, great service. Their Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich is fantastic. Not too hot but just right. If you’re looking for a great place to have a delicious dinner, give this place a try. Cheers, y’all. 🔥🐔

Never a bad experience! Spacious and open in summer, dim and cozy in winter. There is often live music, too. The menu is excellent, with something for everyone including wood fired pizza. The fried mushrooms are an absolute must even for those who think they don’t like mushrooms. Trust me on this! Great vibe, great service, nice long fully stocked bar, and very cool bathrooms. Trendy but inviting and always a diverse mix of ages and people. I always tell visitors to try this place. My insta: gabriel_giella

Had an incredible dinner last night. After traveling from NY for hours, we stopped here a half hour before they closed. Our server was incredibly sweet, knowledgeable and accommodating even being the last table. Loved the decor, the cocktails were wonderful, and the food was Sofa. King. Fantastic! Amazing flavors, hearty portions, and beautiful presentation. Even though we were just passing through, I would seriously plan to revisit Newport just to eat here again. Bravo.

Seafood restaurant
The Mooring Seafood Kitchen & Bar is an elegant and sophisticated restaurant located in Newport's historic waterfront, offering stunning views of Narragansett Harbor. Specializing in fresh, locally-sourced seafood and prime USDA steaks, the chic eatery provides a dining experience accompanied by an award-winning wine list with over 300 vintages.
The seafood is outstanding—10 out of 10! We've been to this seafood restaurant twice, and each visit has been excellent. The crab cakes were a particular highlight, and the cod was also very good. We ordered a whole lobster, and the server kindly helped us clean it, which made the experience much easier and enjoyable. The restaurant’s design is simple yet elegant. Despite being very busy during both of our visits, the service was friendly, attentive, and efficient. A practical note: Parking in front of the restaurant is limited and paid, so we were lucky to find a spot. Overall, highly recommended for seafood lovers looking for a top-notch dining experience. We'll definitely be back when we're in Newport, RI again!

We had reservations for dinner for 8pm but my husband called to see if they can get us in earlier. They accommodated us at 6:15pm even though they were completely booked. We were seated on the covered deck, however the view of the Marina was covered with thick, clear plastic which they could not open up. This not only obstructed our beautiful view but also prevented the circulation of air. It did get a little stuffy. Some other guests were not thrilled about this and decided to sit indoors. Other than that, our experience at this place was excellent. The drinks were refreshing and the food was delicious. Our server Jennifer was friendly & attentive. We were treated with a free dessert and a card signed by the employees for our anniversary.

Had a great lunch here while in Newport for the day. Warm Lobster Roll was fantastic. Not that i am an expert in Lobster Rolls, but can not imagine having it any other way. Although I know some of you do. Scallop chowder was good, but to me the base made it something i could not take a lot of. My wife like it over the clam chowder, and i preferred the clam. Worked out perfectly. Madisyn was great and attentive and our seats inside over looking the water provided a wonderful atmosphere.

We had a great dinner at The Mooring! The food was excellent all around. The shrimp ceviche was fresh and flavorful with just the right amount of heat, and the fish & chips were perfectly crispy with great fries. The chicken was juicy, with a bright chimichurri and creamy garlic mashed potatoes that really stood out. Our server Sharon was friendly and professional, though she tended to linger a bit long at the table. Overall, a really good experience and we’d definitely go back.

I was so excited to dine here Saturday for lunch. The food looked amazing on social media & my experience was just as great as it looked online. The seafood was delicious and fresh. The out door seating was beautiful and peaceful. When booking the reservation, I did request in the comments to be sat outside so I really appreciated that they honored that request. Our waitress Maddy was a doll. Super down to earth & consistently checked in on us. Everything was great!
Carley P — Google review
Absolutely incredible experience! We arrived on our first night here to Newport, and everyone recommended dinner at The Mooring. We had reservations for a table, but we ended up having so much fun at the bar with bartenders Nick and Matt (and patron Jim) that we decided to hang with them for the evening. From Nick’s perfect cocktails (salted caramel espresso martini and of course a classic dirty) to Matt recommending local stops to see in town on our stay, we had a great experience - not like some highfalutin place that misses out on an authentic experience. And the food recommendations were fantastic! 10/10 for us, and so much so we may go by again before our stay is over. From Nashville with love - Amanda & Jason.

Had dinner here with my wife over weekend. Food was very good, the chowder was super solid. Shrimp cocktail was good portion, super fresh. Lobster roll and fries was good, not great. No need for lettuce on a lobster roll. Second best lobster roll we had while visiting. Nice ambiance, good views. Service was good. Would go again.

We had a fantastic experience here! Beautiful food, amazing service, and super delicious food. We came for the lobster rolls and were blown away by them, but we left actually being number one fans of their honey biscuit. Hahaha you HAVE to get the biscuit, it’s the greatest thing ever. Our server Candace was SO sweet, attentive, and lovely - she made our meal extra special!

The Red Parrot Restaurant is a popular dining spot located in a historic 1898 building in Newport. It offers a wide menu featuring contemporary American dishes, burgers, pizzas, and fresh seafood. The restaurant has three levels and serves cocktails. The lively interior overlooks Thames Street and the wharf beyond, providing a vibrant atmosphere for diners. With an Irish flair and jazz combos, this local favorite also offers signature cocktails in addition to its tasty eats.
The service was fast and friendly. The lobster tacos were amazing, with huge pieces of lobster meat. The linguine with clam sauce was delicious, and the kids’ parrot pizza was a hit! Almost forgot everyone loved the calamari!

I liked the style, the food and the atmosphere. I got the grilled swordfish blackened and it was very delicious. My wife got the lobster and shrimp pasta and it has a lot of lobster chunks in it, all great. The clam chowder was also a highlight. The menu stated it is award winning with the recipe also containing dill. It sounded interesting and exceeded my expectations in every way. The dill works so well and the clam was very tender, so far the best clam chowder I've had. We really liked it and are glad we visited.
John P — Google review
We were traveling through and the kind parking attendant recommended this restaurant and we are so glad he did. It was excellent! It was a beautiful day. We were seated by an open window and it felt marvelous. The pumpkin pie martinis were fantastic and each of our meals were amazing along with outstanding service. If we come back to the area we will definitely return!
Millie F — Google review
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Red Parrot! Although some say it’s too touristy I think it is worth the trip. We had a group of five and everyone was extremely satisfied with their lunches. My mother had the coconut shrimp and was very happy with the sweet and light batter. She opted for honey mustard dipping sauce as she does not like any heat whatsoever and thought the sweet and spicy dipping sauce might be too much for her (the honey mustard was one of the best I’ve tried. My sister had the taziki pasta with Kalamata olives, sundried tomatoes, spinach, feta, chopped tomatoes and chicken. It was very light on the protein but the taste and pasta portion were great. Dad got the Coco Loco Coconut shrimp wrap. Flavor and portion size were great but he said there was maybe two piece of shrimp. The sweet potato waffle fries were a huge hit and not one remained in the basket! Everyone was very happy with the only improvement noted was that for the price the protein portions should be “beefed” up a bit.

Never a bad meal here and always great service! This is a great place to go to if you don’t have reservations and turned away by other restaurants in the area. No dress code…. Just good food Good service Good drinks Good vibes

We stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant today for lunch while stopping in Newport in our New England States driving vacation! Kelsie R. Was our server and she was phenomenal! Fun, friendly & informative! I had a delicious Swedish Fish cocktail (highly recommend) I ordered the Bacon, Egg & Cheeseburger with sweet potato fries, my husband ordered the lobster salad! Both dishes were delicious & perfect! We couldn't resist indulging in the Bananas Franchesca~ YUM!!! The atmosphere was amazing, 5 out of 5 hands down!
Heather M — Google review
Absolutely delicious food, great service, and ideal location! We had no wait time, and our server was busy yet attentive and fun. The lobster Rangoon, swordfish platter and seafood Alfredo were top notch and huge portion sizes. The kids had fun mocktails with a little squeaky flamingo and shark on the lid. It was an overall great experience and we will definitely be back!

The food was great! French onion soup was the best I have ever had, the swordfish was tender scallops were amazing. Wife loved the tropical salad! It was busy, which meant very loud. And service was a little slow between checks, but was friendly. Food came out timely and hot.

Hotel
Nestled within the cozy Bouchard Inn, the Chanterelle Restaurant is a sophisticated French dining spot that has been a culinary staple in Newport for over two decades. Renowned for its exquisite French cuisine, this fine-dining establishment offers an exceptional gastronomic experience. The menu features delectable dishes such as sautéed duck breast with a coffee crust and brandy balsamic sauce, as well as re-stuffed roasted lobster with truffle and gruyere cheese.
We loved the Bouchard Inn! Perfect location, clean, friendly staff and nice rooms. We stayed in the ribbon room which was spacious, had a king size bed and a cute bathroom. The room is situated in the front of the inn so you do hear the hustle and bustle of the nightlife but we were able to fall asleep with no issue. They provide a sound machine if necessary and the AC muffles the noise perfectly. Carmen was very friendly and accommodating. We really enjoyed the breakfast, the pastry and yogurt was such a nice treat! The room also comes with a coffee maker, juice and milk-Included with the room price. I would 100% stay here again any time of year. Ideal location to start your shopping journey.

We had the most fabulous stay at The Bouchard Inn! The location was perfect—right in the heart of Newport and within walking distance to all of the shops, restaurants, and waterfront. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and full of charm, with thoughtful touches that made it feel extra special. One of the true standouts of our stay was the hospitality. The General Manager, Carmen, was absolutely fantastic—she embodies hospitality in every sense. Warm, welcoming, and attentive, she made us feel right at home and ensured every detail of our visit was seamless. The breakfast delivery each morning was such a treat—warm, fresh pastries and parfaits right to our door! And dining at their restaurant, Audette, was a highlight of the trip. The food, wine, and service were all exceptional and made the whole experience even more memorable. If you’re looking for a charming, boutique stay in Newport with unmatched hospitality, I can’t recommend The Bouchard Inn enough. We will definitely be back!

This was one of my favorite stays at a hotel, period! It’s such a good location. You can walk to shops, restaurants and the elms easily. The room was clean and very comfy. An amazing perk is that they stock the fridge with free water, orange juice and milk daily! Something as small as that made the day so much better! And of course, the pastry and yogurt delivered piping fresh in the morning was just crazy nice- we woke up every day super excited to see what the pastry of the day would be. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It’s the best!

My mom and I had such a lovely weekend in Newport at this B&B! It’s so cozy and perfectly located to the beautiful downtown, the water and tons of places to shop and eat. Carmen made it such a welcoming experience, she’s wonderful! We’ll carry great memories from our experience and would absolutely recommend staying.

Put this fabulous place on your Newport short list. Service was advise and beyond from beginning (putting our bags in our room when our room was ready but while we did the Cliff Walk) to end (there included breakfast was the freshest earnest apple pastry ever + fruit and yogurt). Great location for seeing the area.
Jim F — Google review
Amazing choice for living in Newport! Nice room and bathroom that was cleaned every day, complimentary pastries, and a great location close to the water and restaurants/shops. If I ever go back, I'd 100% go here again.
Rylee M — Google review
Met our expectations. A young man took our reservation when we got there, because we couldn’t get through on the phone (Maybe because it’s the start of the off season?). The room was very comfortable, and included a nice mini fridge, keurig coffee maker with plenty of K cups, OJ, bottled water & creamer & milk. The warm pastry and yogurt with fresh fruit, was delicious. Location is perfect, walking distance to the marina, shops & restaurants. You could walk to the Breakers, maybe over a mile? There are 2 restaurants attached to the building, sadly neither were open when we were there (Tuesday).

Nestled in the heart of Newport, Stoneacre Brasserie offers a sophisticated dining experience with a French-inspired menu that showcases locally sourced ingredients. The restaurant's elegant setting features cathedral ceilings and modern design elements, creating a romantic ambiance for an unforgettable evening. Known for its ever-evolving seasonal menu, the Brasserie delights guests with delectable starters like smoked trout deviled eggs and escargot, as well as fresh local oysters.
We had the salmon, mussels, and sushi. The salmon was cooked perfectly with a crisp sear and a melt in your mouth texture. The mussels were fresh and served in a rich, flavorful broth. The sushi was unexpectedly great, super fresh and beautifully plated. Service was friendly and attentive. We’ll definitely be back.

Really great experience here. The staff were super friendly and polite, we feel welcoming. Our food came out really fast, and everything tasted super fresh. They used high-quality ingredients—some of them were pretty unique, which made the dishes stand out.

We came here for a family brunch. I was able to make a reservation for 8 a week in advance with no issue. I had the chicken sandwich and my phone definitely did not eat first. It was so good 😆 The atmosphere is so comfortable and upscale and the service was excellent. We will definitely be coming back!

Enjoyed an amazing Sunday brunch! Service is outstanding. Food is beyond; Stoneacre Brasserie is raising the bar on all who serve croque madame. Light and crispy grande slam!

I always come here when I visit Newport! The food is perfectly decadent - yet “healthy” enough if you need it to be. Ask for a “Dan”-tini (gin w green chartreuse and a lil grapefruit/lemon). I am still dreaming about that perfect burger…. We walked in with no reservation and were welcomed without hesitation. Service was perfect. Couldn’t have had a better experience

I went to this restaurant a couple of years ago and just went back for my babymoon yesterday- every single thing we ordered was superb! The smoked trout deviled eggs are a great appetizer, the miso kale Caesar salad has such a rich flavor, the lobster frites was genuinely the butteriest and sweetest lobster tails I’ve ever had, the roast chicken was incredibly layered in flavor and the polenta was to die for. I’m also not a creme brûlée fan but tried my husband’s vanilla creme brûlée and actually loved it- decadent and creamy and perfect, and the chocolate hazelnut mousse had the perfect texture plus some crumbly deliciousness in it too! We will be back!

In Newport for very long weekend and came across Stoneacre Brasserie. It was excellent — both the drinks and the food. The bartender, Dan, helped us navigate the menu to the perfect selections. Some standouts were the crab cakes, sushi and they were serving a tomato gazpacho as the soup of the day. For drinks I recommend Dante’s inferno drink and the red velvet martini. Enjoy!!

Newport Creamery is a local chain that's famous for its shakes, ice cream, and American breakfasts. The Awful Awful milkshake has been a tradition since the 1940s and is known for its thick and rich texture. Originally adopted by Friendly and Newport Creamery, it was later renamed to Fribble when Friendly expanded into New Jersey. However, Newport Creamery continues to make the original Awful Awful with ice milk, syrup, and ice cream.
What’s not to love about homemade ice cream? Also, Shawn is awesome. Generous servings, fresh waffle cones. Go nerd out.

Whenever we stay in Rhode Island we always make it a habit to eat at The Newport Creamery. It’s a very casual, comfortable eatery that serves up traditional breakfast, lunch, and dinner favorites. Prices are extremely reasonable and the wait staff is always courteous. We visit the Middletown RI location and have never been disappointed. Pictured is the Cheese Omelette breakfast. If you’re there later in the day, they have a wide selection of ice cream and shakes. Very good!

Must have gotten unlucky. Went here during our time in Rhode Island this summer. The server seemed highly inconvenienced by us and was quite rude. The food was pretty good except my order was entered incorrectly so just got the basic Big Beef instead of Big Beef “The Creamery Way” (commonly known as a patty melt). I probably don’t need to try again. The Awful Awful was decently good though!
Jeff H — Google review
Disappointed with Our Visit on June 25 On the evening of June 25, my family and I visited your walk-up window to order some ice cream. The line was a bit long, which we understand happens, but once we reached the window, the ordering process felt disorganized. The employee had to clarify multiple times what we ordered. which made things more confusing than necessary. The biggest issue, though, was the condition of the ice cream. While we were standing at the window, the cooler lid right next to us remained open the entire time. One of the flavors we originally wanted was so soft that the employee actually advised us not to choose it. We ended up picking a different flavor, but even that one was very soft—almost melted. It was disappointing to wait in line only to be served ice cream that clearly hadn’t been kept at the proper temperature, especially during such hot weather. I wish we had been made aware of the issue before paying. It also seemed like the employees were a bit overwhelmed or untrained, as there was a lot of running around and confusion behind the window. Hoping to see some improvements, as we were really looking forward to this visit.
Kelly G — Google review
It’s our first time visiting Rhode Island and we stumbled upon this gem of a place. The food is SO GOOD and the ice cream is out of this world. Seriously, the best cookies and cream I’ve ever had and I’m a connoisseur of sorts lol ANYWAYS!! Abby was the absolute bomb, very attentive and sweet. And talented! This place may be the worst place I have EVER laid my eyes on… last night my friends and I tried to get a table for 7 originally they said a 10-15 minute wait. However after waiting nearly 30 WHOLE minutes they said that we could only get ice cream unless we wait another whole hour… this was so disrespectful as we watched at least 5 different groups get sat before speaking too us.

Nwpt Crmy is a middle of the road restaurant that's never grown up. The food was okay, wife had ice cream it was ok. I had a large salad which was very good. But the coffee is one short step above dish water. Too hot to drink for almost the entire dinner. It's basically covered boiled water with milk/cream. At least it's predictable.

Simpatico is a popular establishment located in Jamestown, RI, offering a variety of New American dishes, cocktails, and draft brews. The restaurant features a covered patio for al fresco dining and specializes in high-quality, fresh foods made with local ingredients. Since 1993, the proprietor Phyllis Bedard has created a fun, casual, and welcoming environment for guests to enjoy great meals and good company.
Simpatico has a multilevel deck just a couple minutes from the beach. Both the indoor and outdoor seating was beautiful. The food was also excellent, we had the Fish & Chips and a Lobster Mac. Would love to go back when we have more time!

This is about a 4.5 but there is no rating for that. Definitely high quality, and very well done--plus it sits in a unique and cozy yet elegant spot (hard to pull that off!) with a soft ambience and the shade of an inordinately large Silver Maple tree at the edge of the outdoor patio. The food is great but missing that top tier "je ne sais quoi" while the outdoor seating on a warm summer evening is nice and does have that little something that I can't quite put my finger on but I do love all the same. You will likely want to come back.

Wonderful place! I’m an atmosphere and a “like to sit outside” guy and this place is one of my favorites. Depending on where you are seated, it feels like you are in a treehouse, the forest, or a beautiful patio. I’ve only been once but the food is also fantastic! The brussel sprouts were incredible and the salmon entree was perfect. I don’t like to feel stuffed and this meal left me feeling perfectly satiated. I am excited to return the next time I’m in Jamestown.

5 star setting (absolutely stunning). 4 star food (very yummy). 3 star staff (they were very nice and polite but not very knowledgable. They seemed a bit younger and inexperienced. I will say that was only a read on the two servers that we were involved with)

Very good food! Great drinks! Great atmosphere! I felt like I was having food and drinks in a tree house! This was a fun experience. I recommend for a fun night out.

What a great place! Having an atmosphere similar to some restaurants we used to go to in Spain, the feel is rustic. Their red sangria is a premade mix and it is a little more dry, a little less sweet. The outdoor bar is a great area to sit and enjoy the outdoors. The menu looked good but we just went out for drinks. While they were a bit on the higher end of prices, the place was worth it. Take care to plan your evening early, all of the restaurants/bars close earlier than on Aquidneck Island or the mainland.

It was my first time dining and I was blown away. The restaurant was really expansive and had tons of seating. We sat on the second floor and and it was like we were up in the trees in a forest! So cool! We got the calamari, fish and chips and the penne alfredo and all three were excellent. Our waitress was super friendly and it made the experience even that much better. I can't wait to go back. Highly recommend!

Amazing food and excellent service. Everything is so good it is hard to choose. The Hunt Block is incredible. I had the Bolognese as my entree and loved every bite. The lavendar brulee was a perfect end to the meal.

Slice of Heaven is a charming European-style bakery, restaurant, and cafe located in the delightful town of Jamestown. It's a haven for food enthusiasts, offering artisan sandwiches, gelato, pastries, and gluten-free options. The breakfast menu features favorites like the breakfast burrito and Grand Marnier French toast. Their weekend brunch includes delectable Benedicts and eggs Copenhagen with smoked salmon.
Great local breakfast spot with an extensive menu. Stopped by this place for breakfast on our way to Newport. The place looked like a combination of a cozy pastry shop and a classic diner, and their laid-back patio was the perfect place to chill with our pup. We ordered a fruit tart, an omelette, and a fish sandwich, and everything exceeded our expectations. For the omelette, we got the Pomelet Omelette, which featured all the classic diner toppings: onions, ham, bacon, sausage, hash browns, and cheddar. The hash browns made it particularly satisfying and added a nice textural contrast. The Fish Naanwich was a simple fried fish sandwich served on grilled naan in lieu of a traditional bun. The naan was thick but surprisingly soft, pairing nicely with the fried fish. The only miss was the lack of aioli sauce, which left the sandwich a bit bland. Would definitely make a point to stop by if I’m ever in Jamestown again.

This place is in beautiful RI, Jamestown. It's a beautiful little cafe. It has the most amazing pastries I ever tasted. It also has breakfast and lunch options. However, the service needs work. Their was this elderly lady who served us, and she had the worst attitude. She dampen the experience. And the hot green tea I ordered was so hot it burned my tongue. I couldn't drink it. I had to let it cool down for over an hour. But the place is very clean, clean bathrooms, clean environment. For the most part a very pleasant environment 😊

My family and I finally got around to trying this place out!!! Upon entering we were a little confused on whether we seat ourselves or wait to be seated - there's nobody walking around waiting tables just a counter. So we stood in line to ask but were surprised to be handed a menu and expected to order right there- not a fan of that especially when they giving you that hurry up there's a line stare we really almost forgot to order drinks - the pressure to order like you at a McDonald's drive thru- . We received our drinks then were given a table number and brought it with us to our table - ridiculous when you're trying to juggle hot coffee and drinks for the kids. Our food came out quickly and the food was great the California omelet was the best omelet I have had in a while. My kids hated their pancakes they were a different texture little more chewy almost like a fried dough. The French toast was good too although I didn't really taste the gran mariner not even subtle notes. The orange juice seemed freshly squeezed but my husband didn't like it was room temp like some ice cubes would have been nice. The kicker is we had to clear our own table too and if you want to wash your hands afterwards you will have to wait in a line 5 people deep. Like what's the tip for??? I cleared my own table nobody walks around doing coffee refills I had to bring my own drinks to the dang table the only thing they didn't ask was for us to load the dishwasher! If I was going to come back it would probably be for a coffee and a breakfast pastry to go. I wouldn't come back for a sit down breakfast the process in place only benefits the staff not the customers, when I dine out I don't want to have to clear my tables and juggle my drinks that's why I was choosing to dine at a restaurant in the first place!

I ordered the veggie wrap and clam chowder. The wrap was good with lots of veggies, but it had a wet, soggy bottom, so it was yechy to hold/eat and was falling apart. The chowder was tasteless. (The description sounded great -- made with dill and corn.) I was disappointed and had to add a lot of salt and pepper. (Sorry there's no photo of my actual meal. Was hungry and forgot to photograph!) You order at a counter and they bring you your food and silverware. It was busy and seems popular, and was recommended by a local shopkeeper. Lots of yummy looking baked goods available. I would try eating here again. But today, meh.

BLT was fantastic. Counter service with a number you take to your seat. Also, bus your table. Pretty easy and great. The ciabatta used in the BLT was great. When back in Jamestown I'll be back. The baked goods look awesome but we were too full.

Chocolate and almond croissants were delicious. Fruit tart was well presented. Carrot cake was moist and decadent. Breakfast burrito, tuna melt and roast beef sandwiches were scrumptious. Clam chowder is tasty if you like corn you will really like it.

Other popular dining destinations in the area include Tavern on Broadway, which hosts Buck-A-Shuck Wednesdays and the Clarke Cooke House.
This place is pretty tasty, especially if you are looking for some smoked wings. They used to only have one dry rub wing on the menu but just added three new varieties so of course we had to try all four when we went in. I'd say that all three are valuable new additions but if I could only choose one I'd pick the buffalo wings. There is a great craft beer selection to go along with the food as well.

Absolutely phenomenal draft menu, great staff, the best food in town, brewery in progress when that's up and running this place is going to dominate everything in the area. Superb location and absolutely amazing desert. I'm probably going to start coming here way too often because it's really close to my house and I really enjoy it. The location and decor earned the 2 star at this establishment. It's a shame the bartender isn't friendly at all. When asked about menu items she is strictly business and will not engage with any of the 5 guests present at this time . The bar offers house brew and draft beers . You cannot sample any of them. It is posted. ' when it pours it's yours. No free samples . This place reads of bad attitude. We are let down. Our pre holiday season date night on Broadway is not off to a welcoming start. Side note . The bartender has not asked if we are enjoying our choice. We are beer lovers from a simple. Budweiser to a double IPA . My choice of the October fest was not a good one . We dine out regularly. We will never return here . We will definitely tell our friends NOT to waste their time or money. I wish I knew how to add pictures to this review.

Reply to Village Hearth: great to know it’s not! Thanks for the explanation, but as you can see in the photo, some part of the croissant looks very dense, and it really is dry to taste. I’m a loyal customer whenever I come to Jamestown so I’m just trying to give my honest suggestion and hope you guys do better! Thanks So disappointed this time😢 My family lives on the island so we come here often when I visit them. And this time is a big disappointment village hearth changed. The croissant for example is so dry and stiff, not flaky at all. It doesn’t taste like butter, feels like they used some vegetable shorting?

Frosty Freez is an old-fashioned shop on Main Rd. that has been a beloved institution on Aquidneck Island since 1956. They offer a variety of soft-serve ice cream, frozen yogurt treats, and traditional flavors in regular scoops. Their menu includes sundaes, banana splits, and the popular 'noreaster' filled with various mix-ins like M&Ms, Oreos, homemade brownies, and more.
We love Frosty Freeze and are regulars during the season! To anybody who complains, you clearly have some issues that need to be fixed. Let me be the first to tell you that yes, frosty freeze is cash only. Who cares, they have an ATM and multiple signs. Second, there is plenty of parking and if you can’t park there, park next door. As for people having issues with the wait times, that would be because they actually take the time to care about your order and perfect it. We’ve tried so many things here but I gotta say, the soft served ice cream sundaes are the best! We love to add their homemade brownies and toppings. The price for everything is reasonable because of the location. Let’s also remember that this is a small business and they outperform larger chains. We will Always support this gem!
Nicholas K — Google review
The place is wonderful. Great parking and seating available. Delicious soft serve and sundae. Counter to a recipe comment, when I tasted the whipped cream and instantly knew it was home made and basically no ice cream shop does that! Moose tracks was delicious! Perfect summer vibe and the line moves very quickly. Cash only!
Connor P — Google review
Too many chocolate chips in the cookie dough. It’s about the dough, nobody wants the chips in their ice cream. You’ll thank me later. This seems pedantic and weird, but the toppings aren’t what I’d expect for ice cream or sunday toppings. Explore some Heath, Reece’s cup, etc beyond hot fudge.
Matthew V — Google review
What a great way to end the evening. Cash only and local check fyi!!! No matter the line the variety of ice cream at this location is top notch. There is absolutely something for everyone. We started with three ice cream soft serve cones with gummy bears, rainbow sprinkles or plain. Every piece of ice cream was eaten up. I dove into my soft serve vanilla and coffee banana split!!!! It comes with all the traditional toppings but the best part is that they cut up the banana and real whip cream! I truly can not wait to go back. Well worth the wait in line.
Chris K — Google review
Our very first time coming to frosty freez. We wanted to see what the hype was about as we see people during the summer lining up. We looked over the menu and decided banana splits sounded good. We ordered in both chocolate and vanilla. While the toppings tasted good. The whip cream had no flavor tasted like air and didn't add anything to ice cream itself. The soft serve was mediocre. Wouldn't call it bad but wouldn't call it great either. Not that we will not be back to try something else. It just didn't live up to the hype for us. On positive note the staff was friendly and we loved the options for dogs. Our pup enjoyed his pup cup more than we did our own ice creams so for that I will call it a win.
Lydia B — Google review
Good. Local place. Line moved quick, cash only. We got soft serve, hard to mess that up! Would go again.

Super nice staff and very reasonably priced. I had soft serve yogurt; there were several flavors which doesn’t happen often. I chose blueberry. Although the ice cream was good, couldn’t taste the blueberry at all and it tasted a little too milky for me. Great seating and with the long lines I’m guessing it’s a local favorite. Next time I’ll try the regular ice cream

It has an adorable atmosphere and we went back on our final day because we loved it so much. A must visit during any trip!

Had a fantastic experience at Sticks & Cones. We had no idea they made their Gelato in house! We were given the tour of their menu and allowed to try a sample. We noticed this ice cream shop after eating nearby. We checked out the website and saw it is local with locally made ice cream and in house gelato. I'm glad we visited as the gelato we had was excellent especially the stracciatella. We ended up having that and pistachio in one of their house made waffle bowl. The service was delightful as well as the ice cream. There is not much seating inside or outside, but the neighborhood is great for strolling. Check them out!

Thank you to Cristina! I have to say I gave Cristina an interesting order and safe to say she KILLED IT! Highly recommend this place!

Cute little spot right in the heart of Newport downtown. Beautiful view of the busy street right across. Perfect for a beautiful early afternoon, right after a great meal digestion wall downhill, from the nearby Italian Sardella's restaurant. Either to sit right outside by the rock wall, or by the tables outside, or inside on the little storytale tables. One can almost picture the Mr. Rabbit from Alice In Wonderland coming in for a treat. Beautiful old school 1930's music. Giving you a sense of the good old times. They offer Gelato with milk, and without milk. And regular icecream. They make their own waffles in house, so while you're there you can get a whiff of that too. And sit to enjoy your Gelato or icecream seeing all the activity of the people passing by. The owner is actually Italian and he understood us when we spoke Spanish. And served us Gelato which was so finely made. We had a great time. The people there were very lovely, and one of the ladies reminded me of my umbrella before we left. Since I was too mesmerized by the flavor of my strawberry Gelato as we walked out to the busy street. Gracias again.🍧🍦🍨

Great menu. One of the best matcha lattes I’ve had. I can tell the quality of matcha is very high. Also the lavender latte was very good and not too sweet. Also the smoked salmon bagel sandwich is a winner too. If you don’t like mayo remember to request it to be removed when you order. Kateri was awesome with her service which she delivered with patience, kindness and efficiency. Centrally located in downtown Newport. Skip the chain coffee spots and get your drink here if you are in town.

Overall i love this place! We always drive by and wanted to try out, turned out to be one of my favorite coffee shop now! Drinks: We ordered iced matcha strawberry latte, and a hot Milky Way latte. The strawberry matcha was so good the presentation was great, the flavor was amazing! Would love a little more of actual strawberries but that’s just my preference. Milky Way was great as well. Food: We got a sweet potato burrito bowl, a mashroom filled denish(?), and brownies. Their brownies were so good that we had to go get another one! My husband usually doesn’t like salad looking bowls, but he liked this one and that surprised me! Service/atmosphere: The staff were kind and very helpful! I always (😅) forget to ask for non dairy milk so I really appreciated them asking me if whole milk was okay!! Cute interior, but not much space inside so you want to plan to just take out. it’s lucky if you find a seat!

The prices were reasonable as well as the atmosphere. The food was tolerable and the service was horrendous! We were seated for about 15 minutes before we were handed menus and I had to flag down a waitress for that. We ordered two salads and an order of chowder and clam cakes. After an hour of patiently sitting there waiting the food had still not arrived. I tried to call out to the manager as she passed our table but she pretended not to see us. Finally I went up to talk to her. She ignored me and it was the cook who spoke to me. I explained the situation and said that if they thought it was going to take longer than 5 minutes we would leave. The cook assured me that they would get right on it and they did. The manager didn’t even apologize or check on us. We will never eat there again.

The food was decent, but we waited a long time for our food-- over an hour after we sat down. Restaurant was not crowded at the time with many empty tables inside. We were brought a couple incorrect orders and never received some of our drinks.

Castle Hill Inn is a luxurious Victorian property situated on 40 acres of waterfront land, featuring a private beach and upscale dining options. Since its opening in 1875, it has been frequented by notable personalities like Grace Kelly and playwright Thornton Wilder. The accommodations include rooms, suites, and beachfront cottages with full kitchens and fireplaces. The outdoor restaurant, The Lawn, offers stunning views of Narragansett Bay.
My son brought me to the restaurant where he works, and we had a wonderful meal together. Everything was truly delicious—every bite full of flavor and care. The service was excellent and incredibly friendly, making us feel right at home. I also want to express my gratitude for their generous hospitality. And above all, I’m always proud of my son Jonathan. Watching him work so passionately brings me so much joy. Thank you for a memorable experience! Hi recommend this place.

The Castle Hill Inn was an elegant dining experience for lunch. I am usually apprehensive about valet, but our guy, Connor, instantly made me feel as though my car was in good hands. From there, we were sat by a beautiful hostess named Ayina who was super friendly and informed us of everything they had to offer. Once we were seated, our waitress named all of the specials they had (so many good choices) and drink specials. Everything came out perfect. Lounging on the Adirondack chairs on the grass while watching the boats is a must-do when at Castle Hill Inn. There are even some paths to get down on the rocks below. Awesome place for a date. Highly recommend.

This is a great hotel with an excellent Restaurant. The views are spectacular especially during sunset. Enjoy sitting outside and enjoy your favorite libations, bring your friends and you will see some impressive yachts sail along the coastline. You can definitely make reservations at the restaurant if you dont want to stay here, but I recommend you get a room. You can dine at two restaurants the Aurelia and the Lawn Terrace. You will definitely enjoy what this place has to offer. I highly recommend you make a visit here.

We stopped in for lunch to celebrate our anniversary and birthday and were thoroughly impressed the moment we met the valet driver. The entire staff was warm and attentive, and incredibly welcoming. Our server Kaye was polite and friendly and went out of her way to make our experience memorable! The food was delicious, flavorful and beautifully presented. The views were stunning from every angle making the whole experience that much better . We had the pleasure of dealing with your manager Brian which made our experience even more special. Brian’s dedication to providing exceptional service and his commitment to providing exceptional customer service was evident in every detail. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience! We can’t wait to come back and visit again!

[This is strictly for the restaurant!] WOW. 100/10. Go for sunset!! This is a must-see dinner spot if you are venturing to Newport area. Food, view and service were all an absolute 10/10. Cannot wait to go back another time. We went early/mid Oct so it wasn’t as crowded as it likely is in peak season but we still got there early (before 530) to get a good window seat in the dining area. The clam chowder was the best I’ve had to date. My husband ordered the duck and I’m not a big duck person but it was delicious. I also loved my turkey sandwich. And our waiter was incredibly attentive and kind.

💎 where to begin!? ✨ This is the most enchanting property I’ve ever been on in my life. It is so Luxe and cozy the same time. I was privileged to have been chosen to work for a beautiful young lady having her rehearsal dinner for her wedding the following day today. She chose my service, BEST SALON NEWPORT, a concierge hairstyling service for discerning clientele, and I can only hope anyone staying in the future will choose me also, to be part of their special day!!! ✨🙏 Thank you!! Todd, BEST SALON NEWPORT

Had drinks on the lawn. Location amazing, service fabulous but drinks were below expectations (especially given the price). Gin & tonic was watery like they let the ice melt. Another hibiscus drink was tasteless. Servers & valet top notch but the drinks were disappointing. Stick with wine or beer & enjoy the beautiful view!

Ice cream shop
If you find yourself near 1 Ferry Wharf, make sure to swing by the Sugar Shack for a delightful frozen treat that’s perfect for cooling off. Nestled right by Conaicut Marina, this charming spot offers stunning waterfront views that enhance your ice cream experience. The friendly staff is eager to help; they even let kids sample multiple flavors before making a choice! With Giffords ice cream on the menu, you can expect a quality scoop that's less processed than many other brands.
I stopped by this ice cream shop after leaving 1 Ferry Wharf which is conveniently located right next door. Although the ice cream sundae I had was excellent, I loved the fact that this location is actually RIGHT on the water! There were a couple different options nearby but this location is unmatched!

The man serving ice cream was very nice and when I paid with my card he said “please review the screen” I saw 20% tip already highlighted but I changed it to 18% only bc it’s ice cream. He let my daughter sample not one, but 2 different flavors before she chose what she wanted. Very friendly and her ice cream was $5. I live near a tourist trap ice cream shop back home and what she got today would’ve cost $8 or more.

Honestly, it was just ok. Got a hot fudge Sunday, and the fudge was cold and chunky. Ice cream tasted like it was hanging around for a month. Girls there didn't really seem to know what they were selling. Prices are ridiculous, but that's to be expected. Flip side, it's in a nice area.
George Z — Google review
No posted prices as far as I could tell. Guy at the counter just entered a number off the top of his head and had 20% tip auto selected on the checkout screen. He tried to skip to the next screen for payment without my consent. He claimed “the machine automatically does that” but then cancelled it and allowed me to enter my own tip once he’d been caught. Deceptive and unfortunate. Won’t be back.

There main event, which was basically a banana split. Was the small I have ever seen. My kids small ice cream had more. The scoop where so god damn. There was more banana than ice cream. Never go there again.
Jason B — Google review
Like others have noted, the cashier will select the 20% tip option then hand you the device. To be clear, I saw him tap the 20% option then hand the card machine to me. It wasn't pre-selected. Won't be going back. Big thumbs down.

Love the Moose Tracks! Please bring it back!
Haley W — Google review
They serve Giffords ice cream which is a cut above brands like Hersheys and Warwick Ice Cream because Giffords clearly uses way less thickeners like guar gum and locust bean gum.

Ice cream shop
I’ve ordered multiple holiday pies, cookies and birthday cakes from Wicked Whisk and they’re always outstanding!! They don’t last long in my household!!! My family loves the ice cream shop. We’re there at least once a week!! The milkshake specials are a treat! Cute little place!! Love to support local small businesses!!!
Jennifer R — Google review
We're long term costumers and I absolutely love this place. The staff is kind and the ice cream is good. However, two ice creams (2 scoops in a waffle cone) ran us $18.61 (includes a 15% tip). That's the better part of $8 per cone!! For ice cream!! Unfortunately we can't afford to go here anymore.
Hannah — Google review
The milkshakes here are FANTASTIC! The flavors change all the time and the toppings are wild! One shake is big enough for 2 people to share. Worth the drive to try something fun :) Zoe is the best!

I had a great experience at the Wicked Whisk ice cream shop! The ice cream was absolutely delicious, with rich flavors and creamy textures that made it a real treat. While the atmosphere isn't anything particularly special, the friendly service more than made up for it. If you're in the mood for some top-notch ice cream and good service, Wicked Whisk is definitely worth a visit!

Can we talk about the Fourth of July special!! How delicious! What a cute new spot for ice cream on the island! The own even does orders for baked goods if you check out her Instagram!

Cute little shop! Almost didn’t find it as its a bit hidden. They were super nice and the ice cream was delicious. I got the pistachio and cookies & cream (sounds weird, but so good)! Highly recommend getting ice cream here.
