Pizza Takeout
Norse Bakehouse is a charming cafe located in a beautiful and remote area, making it a perfect stop for travelers. The staff is known for being friendly and accommodating to both children and dogs. The food is cooked fresh, with highlights such as authentic pizzas and macaroni cheese with garlic bread. Visitors can enjoy their meals while overlooking the ocean, adding to the overall experience. Additionally, the cafe offers a gift shop, ample parking space, and clean toilets for convenience.
The perfect place to stop for lunch. Fab service and really great food. I enjoyed the pesto and grilled vegetable focaccia which was amazing, my husband enjoyed the pizza. It was lovely to have a proper flat white and the hot chocolate was very good! It's clear that the owners take real pride in this place (and so they should!), everything is beautifully presented and everywhere is impeccably clean. Perfect!

Stopped by today whilst passing on the NC500 from Leeds. Lady who served us was very polite and chatty. The food was the BEST sandwich I have had in my life. So tasty. Well presented and warm. Setting is perfect. Easy to park the motor home. Would definitely visit again if we were up this way! ♡
Steph M — Google review
We had such a lovely experience at this restaurant! I tried the focaccia with salmon, which was fresh and full of flavour, but the real star was the lemon cheesecake I’ve never had anything like it before! The cheese was so light and fluffy, it felt like eating a cloud. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff were incredibly kind and attentive. A perfect spot for a relaxed and delicious meal highly recommended!
Karolina M — Google review
We had a fantastic lunch here at the weekend, with 2 children who said it was the best pizza they ever had. My husband and myself had the focaccia sandwiches which were fresh, tasty and well presented. The service was quick and super friendly. Highly recommend to anyone passing.
Donna M — Google review
Stopped for lunch when in the area on my 🏍️ Had a delicious rich salad 🥗 order took a wee while to get out but in all fairness, the place was swarming with a large group of bikers when I got there. I didn't mind as I had planned to stay for a bit anyway. Loved the company of the dogs and a sheep 🐑 that came round looking for scratches 😂 Beautiful views, too.
Silvya J — Google review
We had a wonderful lunch at the bakehouse, the food was tasty and well presented, the menu choices were perfect for us, pizza, pasta, salad, sandwiches etc and the view from the outside seating was breathtaking! We also want to say how wonderful the owners are, my father had a wasp sting him and they were very helpful and even gave home a whole pack of antihistamines! Thank you so much xx
Vanessa B — Google review
Norse Bakehouse is an absolute gem in rural Scotland! Marchello, the chef, is such a cool and lovely guy. He went out of his way to accommodate my pizza request even though it wasn’t on the menu — and wow, the quality of ingredients is just superb. The olives were out of this world, and he even took the time to explain what type they were so I could find them myself. He also put together a side salad and coleslaw for me, so when I got home it honestly felt like I was enjoying a last-meal-worthy dinner. And don’t even get me started on the desserts — all homemade, with the cheesecake being absolutely delicious! Everything is made with such high-quality ingredients, you can really taste the care. If you’re doing the NC500, this place is a must stop. It was so good, we went twice!
Ramsha A — Google review
We stopped by Norse Bakehouse Cafe during our NC500 trip, and while the food was fantastic, the experience was a bit mixed. The pizzas were some of the best we had on the whole route — fresh, perfectly cooked with a crispy crust and delicious toppings. You could really taste the quality in every bite. The highlight for us was the sandwich with a light layer of mayonnaise, avocado, chicken, mozzarella, and spinach. It was incredibly tasty and well-balanced, with creamy, fresh, and savory flavors working perfectly together. Definitely a must-try if you visit! That said, the staff seemed quite serious and didn’t smile during our visit, which felt a little off-putting and made the atmosphere less welcoming than we hoped. The cafe itself is cozy and has great potential, but friendlier service would make the experience much better. Overall, we’d recommend Norse Bakehouse for the food alone, especially if you’re passing through on the NC500. Just be prepared for a quieter service vibe.

SandStone Cafe is a charming spot located near Dornoch Cathedral, offering a delightful selection of fresh and tasty food, along with hot and cold drinks. The cafe is praised for its friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere, making it an ideal stop throughout the year. Visitors have enjoyed various menu items such as paninis, chips, haggis dishes, apple pie with custard, and Christmas tree cookies. The cafe's service has been described as superb with generous portions at reasonable prices.
Fabulous cakes made in house. Standard light cafe meals but done well and tasty. Staff lovely too. Would recommend!

A great cafe excellent service, food and spotlessly clean everyone is so friendly and helpful. We have been using this cafe for 18+ years and it has always been spot on. Easily the best cafe in Dornoch. Dave & Teresa

Good coffee, bakes and ice cream. Quiet and comfortable. Even better, they looked after my rucksack after I walked off without it = 1000 thanks for that! 😍

Tea served in a teapot as it should be and a good latte. The raspberry and white chocolate bread pudding was served hot with ice cream and was just wonderful. We've never had anything like it before. Delicious! Incidentally, although we didn't have them, we noticed that the chocolate truffles at the Dornoch Patisserie and Cafe are twice the size of those served at the Courthouse, so you get far more for your money!
Sam P — Google review
£11 for 2 undercooked bacon rolls & a can of warm Diet Coke. Very disappointed as the cafe looked good and seemed popular. Managed 2 bites of the first roll before deciding to leave them on the table. Apparently they can’t do crispy bacon as they do it in an oven?… but these tasted completely undercooked. The other food looked decent enough, they just shouldn’t be offering breakfast rolls if they don’t have the facilities to cook them properly.

This place is definitely worth a stop. Fast, friendly service and lovely food. Lots of daily specials, tried the fresh crab sandwich which was the special and it was perfect. Got some coffee cake to go which was also very well made and delicious. The staff are all very friendly and attentive

Stopped in for a bite to eat and would highly recommend. Being dog friendly it was a huge plus, granted you need to sit outside but the staff couldn't have been any more welcoming and accommodating, including a free biscuit and plenty attention for your pooch! The food itself, presented well and tasty and a very good selection to choose from. Highly recommend The Bothy Burger and their Chicken Broth was yummy! Lovely selection of cakes as well!! Honestly stop in if you're on your travels on the NC500. There's also plenty parking. You won't be disappointed

Lovely teashop with lots of gorgeous cakes! Staff very friendly. Had what was probably the best mille-feuille I've ever eaten. All home made. Situated just off the A9. Didn't have lunch, but the food that came out looked delicious. Good sized outdoor area that allows dogs (but not indoors) and large car park.
Jayne T — Google review
Gorgeous little café tucked away. I ordered a mocha (which was delicious) and they have a nice wee gift shop too with unique items. It’s dog friendly but only in the outside seating area. There’s plenty of parking available.

My sister and I called here on the way back from Orkney. What a fabulous find ! Quirky, atmospheric and an absolute goldmine for gifts. The food was excellent, good portion sizes and very tasty, we can recommend the Super Bowl Salmon and Bruschetta with hummus and grilled veg. The staff couldn't do enough for us, many thanks to them. A must go again treat ...

Sadly the most unwelcoming place we have been in Scotland.. felt like they did not want to serve us. We arrived on our motorcycles having ridden in the rain and needed a break. We are both Canadians/retired banking professionals and wanted a break from the weather. Upon entering there was no friendly welcome and the staff member said we could only have a table for thirty minutes.. we waited at least 10 minutes to have our order taken. Sadly a very poor customer experience. I did not have anything to eat but my wife said her scone was quite good.. so it appears their food is good.. the good news for me about today’s experience is that when I teach entrepreneurship students about how deliver a positive customer experience I now have an specific example of how not to do it. Management should remember .. “customers will not remember what your staff specifically did today but they will always remember how your staff made them feel”..

Nestled in the charming Muir of Ord, Bad Girl Bakery Cafe is a delightful spot that has quickly become a favorite among locals and visitors alike. This cafe has partnered with the renowned Bad Girl Bakery to offer an enticing selection of cakes and desserts that are sure to satisfy any sweet tooth. During my visit, I was thrilled to discover their perfectly prepared waffles—an absolute rarity these days! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, thanks in part to the friendly staff who make you feel right at home.
I came here with my Sister. The Bad Girl Bakery is quite famous in the Highlands because they have produced an excellent book with many good recipes. We were later after lunch and there was still good options cake wise. It was nice to sit and relax as it was not too busy. We enjoyed our time here. Probably best to book if you want to come earlier, this place is recommended.

We called here on our way to Lock Ness as we were staying in Durnamuck for a holiday, the coffee was really nice (proper coffee not instant crap) and the apple & cinnamon scone was delicious so soft and just perfect. The staff are super friendly and welcoming, definitely on our favourites list for when we are back up this way.
Dani S — Google review
Simply delicious! We didn't know beforehand that the bakery is apparently famous in the highlands and were pleasantly surprised by their exceptional selection of cakes and savoury treats. Also the staff is exceedingly nice. The owner, Douglas, saw that we were struggling with our backpacks and was kind enough to offer us a lift. If we could, we'd come there everyday to indulge in their delicacies like a very hungry scottish caterpillar. (: All the best, Holly and Nico
Nico K — Google review
Stayed in the area at a self catering hotel overnight, and found this gem looking for somewhere for breakfast. This is the first place I have been to in years where I have ordered waffles and they haven't been ruined! I loved the messages on the windows, and when we went in, the down to earth girls were really friendly and helpful. Whilst waiting for breakfast, we could help ourselves to water, and there was a little "kitchen" for the younger of our group to do their own baking! The only downside was that breakfast was so yummy and filling I was convinced I didn't need any of the amazing looking cakes they were putting out as we ate our breakfast. I immediately regretted this decision. as by lunchtime when I was hungry again I could have easily eaten half a dozen of the scrummy looking goodies they had in the counter! Wish there was something like this near me! Really hope your business goes from strength to strength :)
Esta-Jane M — Google review
Fabulous find! Delicious treats! Douglas was full of information on the local area and further afield! We visited both mornings and would have returned on Sunday had they been open. Everyone needs a well-earned break! We bought the book in-store and cannot wait to follow the recipes!

Really cute little bakery with friendly staff and a very good selection of cake, cupcakes and sandwiches. Really enjoyed every second here and bought a lot to take away. Perfect stop from the way of Loch Ness. Highly recommended!

Pizza restaurant
The Bakehouse & Crannog is a charming artisan bakery and pizzeria located by the harbor in Mallaig, Scotland. Visitors can enjoy a variety of freshly made sandwiches and cookies, with options for vegetarians and vegans. The establishment offers a cozy atmosphere and is perfect for grabbing a quick bite before boarding the ferry to the Isle of Skye.
Had a lovely lunch here while waiting for the return journey to Fort William aboard The Jacobite. I passed up fish and chips (already had it twice in my trip) in search of something a little more unique. So glad I held out until reaching The Bakehouse. I had a wonderful hummus sandwich served with lots of little surprises in between two very delicious slices of fresh baked bread, followed by a tasty, crunchy, apple tart. One of the final lunches of my trip to the UK and also one of the best.
Pete F — Google review
Sandwiches were absolutely delicious!!! Everything tasted incredibly fresh, including some of the best focaccia bread I’ve had in a long time. Not masses of space inside or tables on their patio, but plenty of little benches and perches around if you’re willing to wander.
Chloe M — Google review
We found this café on our walk through Mallaig. It sits right on the water. As we came late in the day they were very sold out. Nevertheless the croissant I had was delicious and I had the best cappucino ever: strong and hot! We enjoyed a little sit down looking over the boats. Thank you!
E F — Google review
We stopped by this shop while waiting for the ferry in Mallaig at around 12 pm. There were some sausage rolls, croissants, pastries, and sandwiches available but it definitely looked like the shop were nearing selling out. I got a focaccia sandwich, maple pecan danish, and hot chocolate. The focaccia was very soft and fluffy and had parma ham, buffalo mozzarella, tomato, and basil in it. I thoroughly enjoyed this sandwich. The maple pecan danish was crispy and flakey and the hot chocolate was great for the rainy day. It's not a very sweet hot chocolate but the homemade marshmallow added to it was perfect. There is a small amount of seating outside and it was very well sheltered from the rain. This is definitely worth a stop in Mallaig.
Vivian A — Google review
The most gorgeous orange and cardamom doughie buns, cheese and mushroom croissant and several types of sourdough. Lovely setting lovely service - thank you!
Catherine R — Google review
Very friendly service, great smells, and the custard we bought were top notch. They sell out daily by 11 or 12. Do not lag in getting here if you want the goods!
Michael S — Google review
Who thought that you could get the BEST pastel de nata (outside of Lisboa, of course) in wee Malaig ! Their sausage rolls are sheer perfection as well.
Fiona B — Google review
Really great. We had multiple baked goods which were fresh and delicious, and took a loaf of multi-grain a sourdough for the road, which we've continued to enjoy for a couple days after our visit. Staff was super friendly and service very efficient. Prices extremely reasonable. Ambiance is cute though lots of people, perhaps as expected given the location. I am looking forward to returning when I'm next in town!

Bakery
Manuela’s wee Bakery, run by Manuela and her husband Thomas, gained recognition by making it to the Finals of the Rural Scottish Awards in 2017. Tucked away off the beaten track, this charming cafe offers a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere with outdoor seating overlooking a beautiful garden. Despite its relatively small selection of goods, visitors rave about the tasty and fresh treats available.
We stopped by Manuela’s Wee Bakery today for what was supposed to be a quick break – but ended up staying much longer than planned. What started with a warming coffee and a perfectly cheesy, savoury bun turned into a magical little detour ✨ The take away bakery is worth the visit: a lovingly maintained garden full of charming nooks, quirky details, and hidden treasures. Wherever you look, there’s something to discover – even the toilet is a highlight! 😁 We got chatting with the owner family and were instantly drawn into their story. Hearing how much work it takes to maintain the place made us appreciate every little detail even more. Aside from the fresh bakes and good coffee, there’s homemade jam, cookies, rustic bread. If you’re anywhere near, don’t just pass by. Stop and soak up the peaceful atmosphere. A place with soul, created by people who clearly pour theirs into it 🫶 Thank you to the lovely family for making us feel so welcome 🤗 – your little haven was the perfect pause on our journey from Skye to Fort William.
Sibel A — Google review
This little bakery is a bit off the main road, so you gotta hunt for it. When we got there, the restroom was out of order and most of the products were gone by 11 a.m. They put together a cheese and ham for the people arriving after everything was gone. Come early if you want anything. 🍞
Papa B — Google review
One of the most beautiful and magical places around. Such a little hidden paradise. The pastries were perfect, the coffee too. But the best was Jolene, who works there. Thanks for the nice chat, we wish you all the best.

What a little gem to find on the nc500 route!ust go to place day and night. Even have a gin and whiskey bar / distillery too. #magical #mystical #fairyland
Dawn J — Google review
True hidden gems are hard to come by these days but this place is a certified hidden gem, so well hidden in fact that we had been staying 5 minutes away from it in Dornie and only realised it was there there after about a week of being here! We were warmly greeted on arrival and fortunately for us the only people there so we got to enjoy this unique place all by ourselves. We had a cheese and ham cookie, a Nutella cookie and a pretzel baton, 2 coffees and a packet of shortbread all of which were delicious. We had a wander round the gardens before we left and admired the theming and quirky buildings. So well done and you can see the heart and soul that's been poured into this place. Reading the unjustified 1 star reviews mainly from entitled dog owners as business owner myself was infuriating reading. They don't allow dogs for valid reasons none of which they should have to explain or have their business attacked for, just respect THEIR rules. Bear this in mind if you plan on bringing your dog. It was refreshing as a non dog owner to go somewhere dog free for once as well! Will definitely be back. Thanks again, Andrew and Victoria

The Croft Cafe, established in 2019, quickly became a beloved spot for locals and visitors at Seadrift. The cafe offers excellent and wholesome food in a simply beautiful setting. Situated in the heart of the crofting community, guests have the chance to encounter local Highland Cattle that freely roam nearby.
This cafe is absalutely fabulous. I would definitely come back here. The cafe has lovely decor of highland cows and the music in the background of Scottish music makes it a great atmosphere. All the staff are friendly too. We did the highland cow tour which I would 1000000% reccomend. It is excellent. Our farmer was fantastic and so knowledgeable about the cows, you could also tell how dedicated and passionate about them. They are well looked after, it was an experience I have not stopped telling my friends and family about. We got to brush the Highland cows and go on a lovely tour with them. Before we went on the tour I overheard a wee boy saying to the farmer "you are the best farmer I've ever met" which i thought was realy sweet. We did not get food at cafe as we already had a picnic but the drinks and coffee were great and the cafe staff were great. The tour is excellent value for money. It is worth every penny.

What a magical experience!! Lucky enough to have a friend schedule a Highland Coo tour before they stopped doing them. We got to spend about an hour petting, brushing, getting to know the coos. They are so adorable. Each has a different personality. Had lunch in the café. The burger was the best I've had in a LONG time. Flavorful and juicy. Staff was great, very friendly and helpful. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Top of my Scotland trip for sure.

we loved the croft cafe! we stopped in after calum's seal tour in plockton. our waiter was incredibly entertaining and very kind. the food was delish! some of the best on our trip. definitely the best salad greens we found during our 10 day visit. soup was great, too, and don't miss the hot chocolate! the space was cozy and inviting. after you dine, don't forget to visit the highland's most adorable, and most photographed, "coo's"!

The Croft Café is an absolute treasure in the Highlands! We stopped by for a bite and ended up staying far longer than planned—partly because the food and drinks are that good, but mostly because the staff made us feel like we were visiting old friends. Every dish we tried was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with love. From the hearty soups to the homemade bakes and perfectly brewed coffee, everything hit the spot. You can tell they care about quality and local ingredients—it’s comfort food with a Highland twist done just right. But what really sets The Croft Café apart is the incredible team. The staff are friendly, down to earth, and absolutely hilarious. They had us laughing throughout our visit while still providing top-notch service. It’s rare to find a place that feels both so relaxed and so special at the same time. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, do yourself a favor and make a stop here. It’s the kind of place that feeds your stomach and your soul. Can’t wait to come back! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

White Cottage Food & Accommodation is a charming tea room and accommodation nestled among neighboring cottages, offering incredible views of the water and Inverness. The tidy, bright interior and friendly staff make for a welcoming atmosphere. The spacious rooms with great showers provide a comfortable stay, while the delicious included breakfast is a major highlight. Possibly the best breakfast roll in existence! Following a long morning bike ride I was ready for some hearty food and was not disappointed. Their signature White Cottage breakfast roll was cooked fresh to order and clearly contained quality local bacon and sausage. Staff were friendly and the toilet immaculately clean. Will definitely visit again when I’m next in the area.

Stopped at the cafe as part of a large cycling group. Very friendly staff went to great effort to accommodate us. Delicious, fresh cooked food provided much-needed sustenance. Cafe is pleasantly bright and colourful, with lovely views across the inlet in nice weather.

We stopped here on a short break on the way to Inverness. We had to wait a while for our food but the surroundings made this more than bearable although the dolphins remained elusive, the staff were more than friendly and the breakfast rolls were worth the wait.

On the way north stopped for lunch. Waited for 1h10 min for food. Fish burger was from frozen fish brisket, very peppery. Bun untasty. The hot chocolate was forgotten and required reminder. Maybe it was a onetime drop in service, I have believed the positive reviews before coming. But now whole room of clients was waiting for overdue food. We were in the White Cottage for breakfast. The food was delicious. We had the Avocado Toast and the Full White Cottage and both were really good. The cafe itself is also really lovely.

Five of us had a wonderful experience in the cafe. Food is delicious and the owner is amazing. This is the first time we visit Highlands and this is the first meal which really makes our day. Hope to visit the Highlands and the cafe in the near future. Cheers 🥂

The Store Bistro & Bar is a charming gem hidden in Bettyhill, offering a warm and cozy ambiance that welcomes visitors after a long day of adventure. The interior is adorned with unique decorations, creating a delightful atmosphere to enjoy the delicious array of food. The menu features fresh and great-tasting treats, including homemade soup, sandwiches, cakes, and bakes. Despite its unassuming exterior, the bistro surprises guests with its excellent service and affordable prices.
So pleased I found this place for a spot of lunch. Very friendly staff and delicious food. Tea was good and my husband said the coffee was very good.... he's very picky with coffee. I got my husband to get a selection of cakes, and was surprised he picked a gluten free bakewell tart as its not usually something I would eat. However I was very surprised how good it was. The crust was thin and makes all the difference. It was actually really good, and nearly ate it all before taking a picture 😅 The other goodies will be enjoyed by us later. Strong takeaway boxes and wooden cutlery. Beautiful scenery... if I lived nearby I would be a regular.

Stopped off for lunch today, fantastic quirky little cafe. We had a BLT and a seafood platter for one both were delicious. Would highly recommend a visit if in the area.

Great food. We loved the seafood platter and the signature burger. YumYummie. Decent portions for reasonable prices. The coffee americano was a big cup, I appreciate that too. The staff was very friendly, even suggesting that I wouldn't order too much, in order to be able to eat it all, such honesty is remarkable. Thumbs up. (We decided to order the meat roll to take away and eat it further down the road on our trip through Scotland). We sat outside with a lovely view as well. Definitely recommended!!! 😍😋👍

We had an absolutely delicious breakfast at the Store! Delicious flat whites to start followed by a bacon, egg and haggis roll (my new favourite!), a hash brown bowl and a mini breakfast - everything was fresh and delicious. The views out of the window were lovely as well.

We had excellent seafood platter and lobster. Lovely atmosphere and music as well. We'll come back tomorrow for the breakfast.

Beautiful little cafe found on our travels. The atmosphere is warm and cosy and had a super warm welcome on arrival. Food was a solid 12/10. We had the Scottish Laddie Burger and Straight To The Point. Burgers were big and cooked to perfection.. the meal portions are huge and just what we needed after our adventures. Dog friendly too which is a massive plus in our eyes. Will deffo recommend and hopefully make a return.

Nevis Bakery in Fort William is a hidden gem offering a lunch deal with soup and scotch pie/sausage roll for less than 4 pounds. The potato and leek soup is exceptional, made with high-quality stock and plenty of herbs. Their award-winning scotch pies are delightful, while the chicken curry pie and steak and black pudding pie are also highly recommended. Visitors from Wales come specifically to taste their renowned Scotch pies, which won top awards in 2018 and 2019.
My partner and I were lucky to stumble upon this bakery before the closed! Even luckier to get the last two vegan hand pies! The hand pies were delicious. The pastry was buttery and flaky. I also got a small package of their shortbread, which was yummy!

I needed a celebratory lunch for when I summited Ben Nevis, so I stopped into this wonderful bakery to buy a savory pie. I chose a chicken curry (Chinese style) for my choice. The staff was friendly, helpful, and welcoming. So glad I stopped by. Oh, did I make it? See the picture.
Pete F — Google review
Great bakery.... Shortbread is one of the best I've tasted in a long while. Pies are amazing... I had the steak and Black Pudding and it was so good, I went back in and bought some to bring home. Had one of the Chicken and Leek and it was so good too. I am yet to try the Chicken and Haggis one yet.
Clive W — Google review
Cheap and cheerful sounds like damning praise, but it's the best way to describe this brilliant little local bakery. They have an array of different pies and hot food to choose from - the chicken, haggis and peppercorn pie was exactly what I needed after a night enjoying Fort William's hospitality! What struck me was the queue coming out of this place pretty much permanently during our stay (always a good sign), but also how friendly and patient the ladies serving were. It would've been easy to lose their rag with the amount they had to explain different products to curious tourists, but they were genuinely happy to do this over and over. Great food, affordable prices, and staff that are happy to give you a proper Scottish welcome!
Sandy B — Google review
This was a great spot to grab lunch, with the options clearly laid out at the counter! Vegan Pasty was nice to try as a meat eater with the sauce and peppers a nice touch, served somewhat lukewarm the staff themselves were really welcoming for sure though.

Absolutely incredible pies. Hilarious women running the shop. Great atmosphere. Fast service. The Steak and Ale pie was better than the one I had at Ardbeg’s restaurant. Hands down the best meat pies I had traveling through Scotland. I took a minced beef one home and warmed it up in the oven and it was just as good if not better than when I had them at the shop. 7 out of 5 stars. Also the best Millionaire Shortbread I had in Scotland. Highly recommended.
Ian P — Google review
I bought 3 pies, scotch, chicken & leek and steak pie. They were delicious. Moist, great seasoning, tender meat. The steak pie was truly excellent. I paid 11 pounds for all of them, price was okay for me.

We had soup and scotch pie at Nevis Bakery. For just 4 gbp, it's very value for money. Taste was great. We also bought some shortbread to bring back home.

"All The Goodness Coffee & Bakeshop" is a charming spot that offers a warm ambiance and delightful treats. Located just 8 miles east of Kyle of Lochalsh, this bakery cafe provides an array of house-baked pastries, artisan coffee, and Scottish food gifts. Visitors can also enjoy the stunning view of Eilean Donan Castle while savoring their goodies.
BEST sticky buns/cinnamon buns EVER!!! We popped into All The Goodness on the way home from a trip up in the Highlands and oh my goodness.... The pastries were amazing. We got there for it opening at 9am and they were hot out the oven. The cinnamon buns were AMAZING and we also had their Lemon & blackcurrant sticky bun which was DELICIOUS... we could have gone back for 2nds and 3rds!! We also had an oat milk mocha and an iced coffee with their own HOMEMADE vanilla syrup which was absolutely amazing 😍 The husband and wife team who run it are absolutely lovely and so friendly, opened up the shop super prompt. There's no tables to sit in at but that's cause it's a takeaway bakery, but there is a lovely wee selection of gift items for sale too. We will definitely be stopping by again the next time we are up this way. It may have been raining outside but our tummies were full of sunshine and yummy food when left! ❤️❤️❤️

Absolutely an amazing hidden Gem. Most definitely one of most delicious macaroons I've ever tasted and the sticky cherry and black choc buns were superb. Views are spectacular.... Staff are super friendly too... Thank you 🌟❤️

Everything about this spot, from the decor, to the food quality, to the enchanting paintings on the walls, to the view of Eilean Donan castle gives “All the Goodness” vibes. The sticky buns are to die for and their turmeric late is *chef kiss* PS: You can also order the paintings online!!! Thank you Lorraine and Mike for bringing this amazing spot to life.

We visited the All the Goodness Bakeshop for a short stopover after having been to the Eilean Donan Castle. Very friendly owners and cosy atmosphere for a cup of tea and one of their famous sticky buns. Really, really nice and pleasant people, once again - I almost feel sorry not to chime in into the other reviewers’ shared public seizure of excitement over OMG cinnamon buns with sugar glaze. Without being picky, the buns are nice, but no revelation. They are the type of yeast buns everyone of us has had in the one or the other variation produced by never-baked-before guys for 8-yr old’s birthday parties. The glazing is not fondant or anything sophisticated, just sticky sugar-slime. For me the fact that you can create collective ecstasy with trivial bakeware like this rather describes the degree of knowledge-deterioration about baking in general and about different types of dew with their specific challenges among the younger generations. For example, self-made puff-pastry as a base for cinnamon buns would have been technically much more of a challenge and quite an eye-catcher for somebody without professional training as a baker or patissier … and would have given the buns a much more refined, lighter and crispier texture. For me the real genius of this shop lies in the money-making, or let‘s call it conceptional purity ;-) The owners must correctly have realized, that a cosy, comfy cafe is obviously missing around the highly attractive castle nearby, and the absence of any competitors around gives them the freedom to dictate the prices and maximize profit with at best mediocre products. And, boy, have they learnt their lesson! The buns cost 4 £, making sticky buns at Harrod‘s Food Halls in Knightsbridge, London, a bargain in comparison (elaborate braiding, fondant glaze - 3,50 £, see photo). Pudding bar 3,50 £. Espresso/Dark Chocolate/Salted Caramel Cake, looking like the soggy, messy nightmare you kindly decline when a coworker brings a tray into the office, 3,80 £. I must, however, acknowledge the effort to maximize salt consumption, keeping up the excess of 130% daily salt intake above international recommendations in Scotland. Once there are more than five customers present, you have to calculate with 20-30 minutes before you are at the front of the queue because even simple coffee takes 5-10 minutes in preparation. Why? Don’t know, there is no magic move visible that would explain this slow pace. So here is my humble suggestion: Bring it on, guys, show that the laws of supply and demand work and RAISE your prices. Sticky buns could earn 6,50 £, pudding cakes 6 £, coffee 4,50 £ - who could stop you? Don‘t worry about your patent absence of talent as bakers, nowadays people cannot tell the difference!

Unbelievable, is only open 3 days a week but we still visited 4 times during our week in Dornie. Everything they sell is off the scale. Will def be back when next in the area. Update - luckily had family passing by Dornie so had to 'instruct' them to drop in and get us some supplies. As before, everything was perfection. I implore you to visit if in the area. Second Update! - we visited a few times last year when we stayed close by. However, this year we found ourselves staying just outside Drumnadrochit. But, we still only wanted to go to one place for breakfast, regardless of the distance to travel. I said it before, the amazing food is off the scale. Mark and Lorraine have created perfection, all I can say is thank you. See you next time. Third update! - No other words needed in addition to what I have said before but will repeat my thanks to both of you for the wonderful creations you make. Long may you continue to enjoy feeding the lucky people who come visit you.

Absolutely loved this place. Besides the best coffee and tea in the whole West Scotland they have one of the best selection of cakes, cookies and pastries, all freshly made. Amazing! We stopped at this place each time we passed. Very friendly people and they also have the best view of Eilean Donan castle. You must visit this place on your way to the isle of Skye.

XOKO Bakehouse and Coffee Bar in Inverness is a delightful find for a meal or breakfast. The restaurant offers freshly baked sourdough bread, great coffee, and a well-designed dining area. The menu features unexpected and delicious dishes like 'Mexican Stew' and 'Vietnamese Pork Rice Bowl,' as well as unique items such as the dulche de leche croissant. The ambiance is welcoming, with cool wallpaper in the restrooms adding to the overall experience.
This is probably the best bakery I’ve been to. The sweet pastries were incredible and they had a good selection of savoury pastries that included good vegetarian options. The coffee was great and they were open early which was a huge relief (as someone who had to catch an early train). There was art on the wall and the place has a generally wonderful and inclusive atmosphere. The location on Inverness river provides lovely views - it’s a genuinely special little walk between the bridges. Service was very friendly and quick. What a great place.

Great pastry but not very clean with all the bees flying and sitting on the pastries for a while! Wish they had a closed cabinet to keep the pastries tidy. Couple of the servers could be short and impatient but overall it’s a good place to try some French pastries. And great view!

My absolute favourite cafe in Inverness, and my number one recommendation for anyone visiting! The food is amazing, and different from most places in the area, the coffee is 10/10 and the bakes are beautiful!

Can't fault the friendly service at XOKO, nor the wonderful breakfast menu that catered to the dietary requirements of our group of six. My Mexican Black Beans on sourdough was delicious. Others complimented their Salmon and Egg, one on sourdough, the other gluten-free. On the way out, grabbed some Apple Toffee Rolls - well worth the sticky fingers.

The food here is amazing and the staff is very friendly! It’s a small place so there was not a lot of seating but great vibe. We got the dulce de leche croissant, banana bread latte, and the huevos con chorizo. The pico de gallo was SO FRESH! And the croissant was one of the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly flaky and soft :)

Drumbuie Farm B & B and Quila Cridhe Tearoom is a charming spot with phenomenal service, delicious sandwiches, and adorable hairy cows to feed. The owners are planning to enhance the front lawn for better access to the cows. Visitors can enjoy stunning views from the tearoom while savoring toasties made with love and quality ingredients. The experience of feeding highland cows adds an extra charm to this top-class destination near Loch Ness.
Amazing experience- such great value for money. The coos were an absolute delight, 3 babies and their mums. Service and food in cafe was fantastic. Best ever scone and cream with homemade raspberry jam. The lime cake was also beautiful. Assistance in the car park to find the best space for our motorbike made us feel like VIPs on arrival.

We had the Afternoon Coo Tea. I would recommend making a reservation well ahead of time as it gets very busy. Delicious sandwiches & sweet treats with a variety of hot beverages. I got tea while my spouse got a latte. Especially fun meeting the coos after tea! The staff was extremely warm & accommodating. Overall a great experience that I would highly recommend!

Stopped by to see their Highland Cows whilst in the area. The staff were really welcoming, the cows were amazing to see up close. Great value opportunity to feed the cows and get some up close photos. Lovely little place that you may easily miss but it’s well worth the visit if you’re in the area. Great value and very friendly team with the most fantastic Highland Cows that will absolutely brighten your day.

Highland Coos up close and personal? This is the place! For a very modest fee, you're invited to feed and pet the heads of some fluffy coos and see their loveable personalities up close. Tea, scones, and cakes available at 10am; sandwiches and hot foods start at noon. Service was good, our tea/hot chocolate/scones were excellent and the cheesecake was so light! If we're ever in the Drumnadrochit area again, we'll return!

My mother and I stopped in for afternoon tea and to meet the cows. We got to feed three younger cows, and they were so cute! Lily was so knowledgeable and answered our many questions about the cows and farm life in Scotland. The tea was delicious and such a cute little space. Highly recommend this to anyone going to Loch Ness!

A wonderful place for a snack and some tea. The bakery goods are fresh and they have a great assortment of tea. I recommend the Hummingbird Cake or the Cheesecake. IF you are looking to see Highland coos up close - close enough to feed and scritch, this is the place. Parking and access is good.

The Quila Cridhe Tea Room was wonderful! ♥️ We had the 'High Tea' experience. Absolutely delicious food/drinks and we got to feed the Highland cows. Very tight space, but beautiful. I highly recommend to book ahead! They do take cards, but prefer cash.

This is a review for the tea room. First off, the highland cows are so sweet and cute. Feeding them is such a highlight. The view from this place is also amazing. We enjoyed our lunch with them. The cupcakes and scones were very yummy. I definitely recommend coming, it was a fun thing to do. There was a man outfront helping to direct people on where to park. When we went the card tap machine wasn't working so we needed a physical card to manually enter the number. If we had cash on us it would have been better. The staff were very friendly, we left full and happy.

Annie's Bakery, located in the north of Scotland, is an outstanding establishment with a wide variety of delectable sweet and savory treats. Their generous portions and excellent coffee are truly delightful. The presence of Jack the horse and two charming cats named George adds to the overall appeal, making it not only a place for amazing cakes but also for some affectionate animal interaction. The staff members are exceptionally kind-hearted and helpful, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
A very friendly welcome and the food was delicious. Not the easiest Place to find but well worth the effort!! We had a selection of pies and a sausage roll with chocolate chip shortcake and a peanut butter slice for dessert I have to say the barbecue pulled pork pie was amazing 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Already planning our next visit to try some of the other things that caught my eye 😂 Went back today for a bacon roll OMG! This is the best bacon 🥓 roll I’ve ever had and couldn’t resist getting a couple more cakes 😂😂

There’s a horse next to the car park that loves attention 😍 the car park isn’t very big and this place was BUSY, didn’t wait long in the queue. Toilets were available though. There is a little gift shop you are in so can browse while working through the queue. You can dine in but we went for the cakes! These cakes are next level! We’re talking HUGE, £3.50 for a massive slab of malteser crispy cake, when I tell you this is the best crispy cake I’ve EVER had in my 45 years - believe me! 😂 there was brownies - so many items. I expected to come out with a Klarna bill but the prices are so reasonable. We all know we’ve paid £4 for a tiny tray bake. These were at least 3x bigger. You will kick yourself if you are nearby and don’t go.

Friendly staff and excellent food. I had a sandwich with salad and my friend and I shared the large viennese whirl. The bread was baked onsite and I also bought a loaf while I was there. I didn't need dinner as it was very good sized portion! The coffee was also very good. Very cheerful atmosphere and a lovely view over the sea from their large car park.

Lovely place to stop by for lunch or just tea and cake. Been here several times now and, IF you can get a table, you won't be disappointed! The food is always prompt and delicious, but their cakes are something else! They are massive in size, regardless of which one you pick, and stunning! They have a lovely little gift shop where you order/pay for your food and the view of JOG adds to the whole experience! Highly recommend!

WOW WOW WOW!!! Outstanding 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Annie’s Bakery is truly the greatest bakery/cafe my family have ever been to. It is EXCEPTIONAL! Please move to Devon Annie! This is a wonderful bakery for takeaway or eating in, right in the heart of Thurso on the edge of the Scottish Highlands. Firstly, the serving area is crammed full of beautiful gifts and treats at extremely reasonable prices. Then you come to the counter and oh my goodness, you will never find a more delicious display of delicious cakes, pies and pastries, all at incredibly reasonable prices and extremely generous portions. They have an extensive lunch menu with plenty of flexibility around options, all of which are freshly made on-site. We had a delicious sweet potato soup and my children loved the sausage roll and waffles and bacon. You can sit in their lovely hand crafted conservatory to eat which is beautifully kitted out with lovely decor, comfortable benches and the most beautiful view all around. There is also a very clean and attractive bathroom with a changing facility for all ages which the whole community is invited to benefit from. The bakery is family run with passion at its centre which shines through the produce and the wonderful warm vibe. Congratulations all on this magical place, we will, without question and despite our 730 mile commute, return!! 💖
