I had dinner at Trattoria Praetoria with the kids, and overall, it was not life changing. The service was okay, the waiter didn’t volunteer their best dishes dispute me asking multiple times. Just pointed to which ever ones were not pork. The ambiance is average, which is definitely ok if the food is amazing. The food was decent but nothing memorable. My kids didn’t like their pasta at all—they somehow managed to mess up plain penne with cheese, turning it into something closer to a white sauce. The waiter also got my starter order wrong, so I ended up with a whole cheese dish—not what I wanted, even though it tasted good. My main was good flavor-wise, but the portion of meat was a bit low. And I generally don’t like meat in sauce. Not a place I’d go back to but not disappointed by it either.

Really good and tasty! We will come back! They have a certificate of the association of celiacs since 2017, so you can eat relaxed because your dishes are without gluten 🤩 The coulant of pistachio is the best I tasted!

This restaurant was recommended to us by our B&B it is lovely, the menu is original, you get local food and creative menu. The location is perfect and the service is super fast. The service was good and nice and people there are welcoming. But There was no atmosphere, no music nothing. We were almost alone in the restaurant and it felt very silent. Adding some atmosphere music would help (maybe they forgot it on that night). The food was okay. Maybe we’ll give it another try next time 🙌🏼

really great place where you can try traditional dishes. the restaurant is placed in the city center, next to the "porta praetoria". the place is nice and really cured. the quality of the food is really high and the dishes are excellent, the offer is in line with the tradition of this region. the price is a bit high but the staff is friendly and helpful.

A very wonderful place, The food was very good and the price reasonable, and they have almost everything GLUTEN FREE. We were in 2 and we took the tasting menu, that came with a delicius plate of local products as appetizers, gnocchi with fondue, polenta with carbonada and dessert, we spent 74 euros total with water and coffee. everything gluten free. Also the service was great and the waiters very nice. Worth a stop, especially if you need a gluten free menu.

We stopped there for lunch and visit the beautiful town of Aosta/ Aoste. Perfect outdoor seating just close to the porta praetoria. Good variety of local and italian food. Reasonable price and a good quality of the products. Very good choice of vines and also small bottles, better if you wanna have something to do the rest of the day. Friendly service. Go there when you visit this beautiful town ad the food of the alps.

I recently had some friends visiting me in Aosta and decided to take them to this restaurant, as I had enjoyed a good experience here in the past. Unfortunately, this visit turned into one of the most shocking and unpleasant dining experiences I have ever had. We were a group of four and ordered the trout, the fonduta, and the bourguignonne to share. The owner, who was serving us, seemed surprised by our order and his demeanour was rude and abrupt, so we double-checked with his son, the other server, asking whether ordering both fonduta and bourguignonne would be too much. He reassured us that it was fine, explaining that we could enjoy the fonduta while the bourguignonne cooked. When the food arrived, things immediately began to go wrong. The fonduta was served completely cold, alongside a single portion of bourguignonne: one plate of meat, one cooker, and one set of sauces. We clarified that we had ordered four portions, not one, at which point three more plates of meat were brought—but still only one cooker and no additional sauces. We were left trying to cook four portions of meat on a single burner. To make matters worse, the cooker repeatedly went out. We relit it ourselves several times, but it kept failing. When we raised the issue, the staff dismissed our concerns, saying it was “just catching the wind wrong.” Eventually, after much persistence on our part, they reluctantly changed it—only after first trying to “fix” it by adding more lighter fluid and even placing a serving plate in front of it (see photo). No apologies for getting the order wrong or the cooker not working properly. By the time the bill arrived, we were deeply dissatisfied with the service and politely asked for a small discount to reflect the poor experience. What followed was truly unbelievable. Immediately, both the owner and his son became extremely hostile, shouting at us in front of the entire restaurant. They accused us of ordering incorrectly, of cooking too much meat at once, and even of having come to the restaurant to get a free meal. The owner and his son repeatedly demanded, “How much do you want off your bill?” while shouting aggressively. At one point, the owner even moved towards us in such a threatening manner that his son had to physically hold him back. They told us to leave without paying which we were not comfortable doing. We made it clear that we were not asking for a free meal, only a fair adjustment. In fact, we then insisted on paying in full just to de-escalate the situation and because we felt insulted by their insinuation. Shockingly, they then refused to let us pay at all until, after a long and humiliating argument, they finally took our payment—only to throw €40 in cash at us, saying “here is your discount.” We left it and walked out, utterly embarrassed in front of my guests. I have never been treated so badly in a restaurant. The service was appalling, and the behaviour of the staff beyond unacceptable. I will never return, and I cannot recommend this place to anyone.

Wow, wow, wow - what an experience! A true local Aosta Valley meal. As a couple, the waiter recommended us to take the 1957 menu, which is five courses, plus two more, as well as wine pairings. We prefer white wine, so we had only whites - overall 5 glasses each, and he gave us 10 different wines to taste, all from Aosta Valley. It was a wonderful taste of the local viticulture, and all were really good. The food was very good as well - from the spinach quiche, to the pasta with fish, and best of all - the Bourgiugnne diss, which is self made beef fillet cuts in warm water you prepare at the table. Excellent service, delicious food and a unique local experience. It cost us 160 Euros, which is a fair and even a low price for the food and wine we had. One of the best restaurants I’ve been to! Very recommended!

Excellent restaurant in AOSTA LOCATION 10/10 : Well located in AOSTA center, easy to reach. STAFF 10/10 : staff of the restaurant is welcoming and well prepared. QUALITY OF FOOD 10/10 : high quality food and dishes very well prepared PREPARATION OF FOOD 10/10 : We took one of the available tasting menus. 5 courses plus cheese and dessert. Everything was really good. Good choice of flavors and ingredients TOTAL 10/10 : For me one of the best restaurant in Aosta. We went there to celebrate a special day over lunch. We stayed there for quite some time (until 15:30) but the STAFF didn't complain and they were actually happy about our celebration in their restaurant. Overall a great experience. If you are in Aosta I strongly suggest you to go there, but be sure to make a reservation in advance as the restaurant is quite small and don't have many tables.

Absolutely fabulous! Family run since 1957, this taverna is an absolute gem! Serving traditional dishes & house specialties all lovingly prepared and served with a personal touch and beautiful presentation. Outdoor seating in a quieter part of the city & great wine menu. We went once in 1996 and again 2025– a highlight of our trip!

We went to this restaurant in Aosta and unfortunately no inst@gram post for this one. My wife got rice and mushrooms but... topped with worms ! Bad experience. They offered the dish and it was... ok. Even worst was that after paying and leaving; the waiter ran to check if we left money... That's when we decided to leave our first one star comment. Nice dinner place after a long ride

Excellent local food with polite and efficient service. Great local wine selection at reasonable prices. Wait staff speaks English and French also. Highly recommended.

Beautiful place with convenient parking. Friendly staffs with no English issue. Spacious and clean. Service was great where staffs make sure the portion were shared as we requested. Food were hit and miss. I was impressed with the blue cheese gnocchi, highly recommended, good for sharing. The lamp chop with mashed potato were a bit unexpected, especially that the lamp chop were deep fried in cheese coating. Not exactly to our asian palatte. Grilled trout had really flavourful almond sauce and I love it if I wasn so full from the gnocchi 🥹. For asians, as the food portion were quite big, recommend to order moderately. Staying at a partner hotel, we were given 10% discount. Then there was option to give compulsory 3%-20% tips/service charge at the end. This place was open on Monday evening, not very crowded.

We booked a wine tasting and a dinner separately, but due to circumstances we combined it. Reservation is recommended. The trattoria is a family business and serves local specialties. We went all out the Italian way with antipasto, primo, secundo and dolce. Each course accompanied with a local wine, with explanation from the head sommelier. The food was really good, staff was kind and punctual and English speaking .

Incredible restaurant with delicious food and lovely staff. Recommend to book ahead as day before they only had the one table, but definitely worth it! We each ordered primi, secondi and dessert with wines hence the price but is reasonable for the quality and taste.

Arrived towards the end of the lunch service, immediately given an outside table which was lovely in the shade. Amazing wine list, the menu has so many different choices - the local salad was simply amazing so fresh! The lasagna was delicious and light! Hopefully we get to go back before we leave the aosta valley

Perfect food and environment. The food and the wine were excellent also the deserts. We ordered all our plates to be locally sourced and we weren’t disappointed… This bread with nuts figs lard and honey it’s amazing, as it was the Doc polenta with cheese that comes with the ragu. I think it’s called Carbonata and not Carbonara. They were delicious..!! A reservation is required. Till the next time…!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our delicious dinner at the trattoria. The staff were very nice and especially helpful with helping choose local wines to match our menu selections.

Initially, I thought I would give 5 stars since all looked and tasted very good, but after the hard evening and night I had with my boyfriend - we shared the fondue - I think it was bad since both of us had nausea and vomited after it. Please take care of your customers. LE: the only thing that we both ate, was the fondue from L'Osteria, so I think it is the best argument why we blame you for the illness.

The polenta was great, the soup also. The beef was fine but less better than the polenta… Fair prices.

They squeezed me in between two reservations as I showed up spontaneously. The polenta with lard and fondue was great, so was the apple/cream desert. The local red wine was delicious too (usually I don't like red wine). Everybody was super nice and didn't make me feel rushed at all despite the limited availability of the table. Next time I would book and order several courses.

Had cheese fondue, it was lukewarm, and had a very maizena like structure taste in the mouth. Like it was from “a package with cheese powder with water or milk added” instead of freshly made. It was also extremely fast - we ordered it and within 3min we got it served. Seems impossible for melted cheese fondue.

Very nice place, excellent food. Do not miss the onion and the valpellinentze soup. Let the staff guide you through the meal, they are really competent and affable. TIP - book in advance and ask to be seated in the 'saletta', the space at the back. Sooo cool. More seating upstairs, with another smaller but very comfortable and cosy room

I came with 2 of my friends here and i was pretty satisfied! The ravioli we got was extremely tasty, while served quickly. The staff knew English so we had no trouble communicating. Lovely place with nice atmosphere. Would recommend!

Visited La Maison de Filippo in Entreves, Courmayeur, and it was a charming experience! This historic restaurant, open since 1965, has a cozy, rustic vibe with vintage decor that feels like stepping back in time. I tried the traditional Valdostan ravioli and polenta—tasty and authentic, though portions were smaller than expected. The staff was friendly but service slowed down when it got busy. Prices are on the higher side, but the Mont Blanc ice cream dessert was a highlight! Perfect for soaking up Aosta Valley’s atmosphere. Recommend for a unique dining experience!

Amazing food service is awesome the waiter explained us what was on our plates when serving and the food was exquisite quality atmosphere is lovely with comfy chairs and wooden tables i had the spaghetti with tomatoes which was truly delicious the spaghetti was smooth and i could slurp it really easily the tomatoes were sweet and juicy and fresh. They offered complimentary bread before our meal which tasted like it was baked earlier on salted to perfection with very soft crusts.

Lovely ambience restaurant with excellent and fast service. The menu includes a good Val d'Aosta traditional list of dishes. The food was satisfactory, but didn't amaze us. Overall a good experience.

Stunning food in a quaint, comfortable and friendly setting. Little out of the tourist trap area (though easy by bus) and therefore was populated entirely by Italians. It's run by a family who clearly care about their production, reputation and customers and they tripped over themselves to take care of me. The food was seasonal, fresh, delicious -- certainly the best Italian food I've had this week around Monte Bianco. I wish I had discovered it sooner so I could come back again.

Friendly staff, but I don’t understand the positive Google reviews. The food was really not good (really not). The menu is quite simple (mainly gnocchi and polenta), which makes it surprising how they managed to make such tasteless, industrial-style dishes. Really disappointing compared to typical Italian standards for an osteria or trattoria.

What a wonderful little restaurant. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They had great cups and seats for kids. The food was great home cooking with lots of local cheese. You better have done some hiking during the day, if you come for dinner. For the healthy side, they have wonderful grilled veggies.

What a little gem of a trattoria! Absolutely delicious local food, excellent service and decent prices. The bruschetta lardo is just amazing and the range of polenta dishes offered are one more delicious than the other. Since it’s local food, be aware there’s only red meat (including a delicious deer ragu) offered - no chicken, fish or vegetarian. I just wished they would dim the lighting a bit - it’s dazzlingly bright

Nicely located in the heart of the city, between the Praetorian Gate and the Augustus Arch, this restaurant is a good pick if you like mushrooms! We had their Polenta with Porcini and it was actually extremely good.

The staff in this place was awesome! I had a reservation for 2 pm, and they waited for us until 2:30 pm. right at closing time. We held a lot of people, and still, they were gracious and very professional. However, we put pressure on ourselves when we realized the situation, and we did not enjoy the experience. We rushed our choices and we paid the price. Congratulations for the staff!

The worst restaurant in Aosta we tried a 2 pax set menu of 25 each with overpriced drinks and dessert went up to 95 euro a disproportionate price for the misery of set menu they served, portions were not even worth of tapas and not of great quality and drinks were overpriced and underpar, furthermore the waiters are weird and stupid, trying to make stupid jokes out of everything to elicit a laugh and constantly asking you if everything is OK, maybe over conscious they are taking you for a ride in few words the worst restaurant on Aosta you will leave hungry and angry best to avoid even if the option is a kebab

One of the best restaurants in Aosta. They specialize their dishes with mushrooms and asparagus, although they also offer other dishes. I had a risotto with mushrooms and black truffles, it was amazing! We accompanied the risotto with white wine from the region. Feel free and safe to follow the menu recommendations. Angelo was our waiter who was kind to explain the menu in depth and give us some suggestions, so, no room to feel left out! Make a reservation prior to visiting, otherwise, you run the chances of not having a table or having to wait for long. 10/10 restaurant!

We stopped in for lunch dreaming of a beautiful Italian meal...apparantly in Aosta Pizza and linguini are not so easy to find! My friend ordered Bucatini Amatriciano... Its was really awful...the pasta was soft and mushy and the sauce tasted like spagetti "o" out of a can..my friend could not eat it..she thought maybe to take it home and fix the sauce..but the grumpu waiter said No to take away! My duck breast was over cooked with mushy vegitables! And to make the waiter was not nice! Our last meal in Italy was a buzz kill!

Had an outstanding evening with delicious food and impeccable service. Stand out dish was the risotto for me, but everything was very tasty! I had the vegetarian menu, my friend the 'normal' 5 course tasting menu and we shared a bottle of wine. The bill came to under €300 for the two of us which felt like amazing value given the quality of food. We left with full bellies and happy hearts. Would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting Aosta or the surrounding area!

We went to this beautiful restaurant based on its reputation and were not disappointed. The service was friendly and efficient and the food was beautifully prepared. We had the proximity tasting menu. It was excellent. We did not want to do full wine pairing but we were selected an excellent glass of orange wine for the first 2 courses and red for courses 3 and 4. We both loved the Bar BQ quail with fig ravioli whilst the beef fillet steak was also exquisite. Highly recommended

Very classy and nice Interieur. Service is excellent, very polite and good English! We went for the seven courses with wine pairing. Food was absolutely perfect, one of the best Michelin experience I’ve ever had. (Very subjective of course) We really enjoyed the wine pairing, as the wines were a bit more unusual and quite an experience. We will certainly come back when we visit aosta again!

Amazing food, really fresh, flavours very well balanced - put together in creative combinations, wine list excellent and recommendations on point! Service was impeccable and Paolo looked after us very well! Tables were extremely well spaced and Covid measures fully adhered to but not overbearing. Highly recommended to go for the 7 course tasting menu and let them take you on an unforgettable culinary experience! We left filled, contented and eager to return next time we are in Aosta!

I wouldn’t ever dreamed to find a place like this in Aosta. The host and the waiters were very kind and polite, regarding the food ..let’s say it in one word: Terrific. From the entree to the coffee (and side chocolates as well) it’s been amazing have a dinner there. Of course could be a little expensive but we’re talking about high premium restaurant.

Absolutely not worth the Michelin star. Service is ordinary. Food is a bit pretentious. But a really nice experience and very nice ambience.

Great pizza, amazing atmosphere, it was indeed a bit of a wait for our takeaway pizza (30min extra) but it was ok, I don't mind waiting for something good . The staff was very courteous and apologetic, but we knew from the beginning we would have to wait. Very limited options near hotel, and didnt want to get back in ghe car. Recomended by hotel. Was ok, but food we orderd was a bit 'lacking'. My wife had a veal schnitzel- algjough descripyion on menu was different - not much taste.If we had ordered pizza, think it may been different. The place was filling up when we left so it was probably our choice that let us down.

I went to Aosta and with our friends we tried Sottosopra pizzeria.. Pizza was excellent and service super fast. I really suggest to try it. Also you can get accommodation if you need it.

This seems to be a neighborhood restaurant they is frequented by locals. The food is okay, and the portions are generous. The meat and fish at our table was overcooked. Our server was fabulous and added a bright spot to our evening.

We had a great time at this location — the Pierrade was a fun and flavorful experience overall. Most of the meats were tasty, though the sausages didn’t quite meet our expectations. The highlight, however, was definitely dessert: the warm apple with cinnamon paired beautifully with the gelato. A sweet and satisfying end to the meal and veggies. Would return, especially for the ambiance and dessert!

Excellent place where everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and like to eat. We first came here two years ago and found it even better this time. Very good Raclette (with extra portions for the hungry) and superb fondue bourgignione. The head waiter is very knowledgeable about wine and guided us well through their long list. They also have good local grappa and deserts.

Sapori di Casa is a good Italian restaurant in Aosta. It has a nice atmosphere, with music and good service. It offers local food (polenta with spezzatino wine-cooked for example). It is not cheap, but it is definitely a good pick if you are in Aosta.

We had a 3 course dinner here last night. The food was delicious and the ambiance was very nice. The menu was diverse and the price range vs quality was good.

They have fancy menu and nice atmosphere, but the food just doesn’t taste right. Swordfish salad is very salty and doesn’t fit with the orange sauce at all. Boar pasta is very salty and the hack meat smells strange. Octopus is just normal. I understand this may be the style of “local food”. So if you want to go there, be prepared.

Flavours&service are both good, the only reason that I gave 3 stars(I would rate 3.5/5 if I could) is because of the price. Quite overpriced for the ingredients & presentation offered.

Apparently this was a wine bar. Not seen one like this before - to me it looked like an epicurean shop. We were in a rush so didn't get a chance to have a proper look but managed to buy a couple of two different packets of biscuits. We preferred Torcetti Al Burro Artigianali to Torcetti gocce di cioccolato Biscotti artigianali which have chocolate chip in it. They tasted a little on the bitter side. Could just be a personal taste thing.

If not for this peaceful and friendly vineria our visit to Aosta would have been a bit disappointing. We had a selection of regional cheese and meat as a starter and then enjoyed a green salad with delicious goat cheese/ricotta. Served with a glass of cold white wine from the region. Friendly owner/staff. Now, the old town has its charm but during the summer holiday, it's a major tourist/shopping destination.

A perfect place for a glass of something from a very carefully chosen fine wines and spirits selection. An atmospheric place, stylish interior, attentive service, nice food - all you can wish for for a perfect evening!

Sat outside here on a beautiful early fall afternoon and enjoyed a very nice glass of Muscat and plate of assorted cheeses. Both were reasonably priced and service was excellent. Nice spot for people watching and late afternoon sun.

I felt very good here. Every time I ate here I feel fully satisfied. Thank You. Some opinions I read feels to me like people wish to be treaded like fussy princesses. It is nice and cosy premises, with friendly approach to customer. I don't know if food is up to some super high standards of 3 star Michelin stars. To me food was always very good or delicious. Great find - we just happened upon this restaurant at random and feel lucky to have found it. The starters were particularly excellent (see picture!) but pizza, venison pasta and tiramisu were all great. Loads of food and wine for 25€pp. Bargain.

We went for a day go ski and then decided to have lunch, called this place and luckily had a table for us later around 14:15, where other restaurants were full. The food was very good particularly the pizza, we also tried fritto misto and was awesome.

I visited Aosta for a day trip from our holiday in France. We had an excellent meal here, which compared to similar restaurants on the other side of Mont Blanc offered much better quality at a much better price!

Me and my partner have been in this restaurant for the first time. The ambiance is very nice, food is amazing. Tiramisu is the best I ever had. The only problem was that my partner had calzone which has arrived after I finished my steak. It has been mentioned by waitress but still was long waiting. But so far so good 👍.

Has a huge central hall with many separated alcoves and rooms if you prefer a more private atmosphere. The staff is young and friendly and the price-quality ratio excellent. Absolutely recommended. The best pizzeria in Valle d'Aosta by far.

We came at the Saturday evening in a company of five and immediately got sat at the table. It was a miracle. The food was incredibly delicious and the staff were very friendly. Service was really fast. Ossobuco with polenta is fantastic. And I strongly recommend to try Valdostan lard with honey, it is very unusual. An unexpected gem in the centre of Aosta. We were on a drive in the area and decided to have a pit stop in Aosta and came across this cafe with wonderful pastries. It seems to be connected to a Michelin star restaurant and the quality of the pastries definitely reflected that. The outdoor but warm seating area was a wonderful place to sit down and enjoy a tea with some cakes, we were so impressed that we decided to take some pastries home for the next morning.

Having seen the advertised speciality coffee the previous night we decided to come here to have breakfast and coffee. What a terrible decision. The coffee is not at all speciality coffee, actually the coffee that we had in a little village (that was not a "specialty coffee") was so much better. The food was good, but if you’re visiting, i would avoid coming here because the service is terrible. We don’t speak italian well, and we had ordered some chicken prior, but wanted to add some sushi as well. Great experience, great wines! My wife and I recently visited Aosta Valley for a few days and booked a tour and picnic—highly recommend!! We had a great tour with Martina, was able to taste a couple of the wines, and then headed up the hill for a wonderful picnic on the big bench with a bottle of Torrette Superieur. The picnic goodies were enjoyable, the wine was incredible, and the views are simply amazing. After the picnic, we bought a couple more bottles to take home to the states... and they made it perfectly :-) You simply cannot visit Aosta Valley without a stop at Grosjean Vins!

We went there quite late on a Saturday evening, following the recommendation of our hotel. They let us in, no problem. First good sign. Then we ordered the food, quite local mountain Italian food and we were not disappointed at all (different pastas, appetizers and wine) except by the carpaccio which I would not recommend. Before my holiday I thought that I just enjoy and wont bother to review any restaurant, but… First of all waitress didint ask would we like to have any wine, strange. After appetizer I ate ”de bosses” -pasta, holy moly it was salty, like SALTY. When waitress came to get plates away she asked was everything okay, i said what was the problem but she didnt want to listen. We asked the bill… waited like 20minutes and then we asked again that we would like to pay and the mr. Said that come inside to pay. Try to teach your staff and appreciate ”aosta valley tradition” -dont believe that its just a taste of salt.

Grenetta (the best restaurant in Aosta) unfortunately is closed Sunday night and Monday. They recommended we go here. We have eaten in at more than a half a dozen restaurants here and this was the most disappointing. The outdoor patio was charming but the service was not quite up to par. Not terrible but not really satisfactory. And the food is mediocre and just a bit more expensive than many of the other better restaurants here.

Wonderful meal- Charcuterie, Fondue and Prosecco. I recommend!

Great selection of local wines, cured meats and liqueurs. Our waiter suggested an excellent local wine. We shared two styles of the exclusive prosciutto “de bosses” - excellent. Aside from that, the “bar a vin” salad was a standout appetizer. For the main course, we all had the polenta carbonara and were just blown away by the flavour and the quality. We decided to try some local digestifs and our waiter brought some excellent local options. Great service, great selection, great food. Five stars.

After long days of running in the Alps I was lucky to come across this sushi restaurant, just before catching bus. It was nice with ordering dishes and get them fresh on table for all you can eat price. Salmon sashimi was super fresh and tasty (probably the best I have eaten) and other sushi and dumplings also excellent. Service was fast and friendly, only small minus from a bit too loud chinese music that not all like to listen.. All in all a great place to drop for high value for money all you can eat sushi (and other foods) fiesta!

I would never go back even if it was for free,tasteless food,everything was dry(must have been prepped in advance),fried rice horrible and they don't even offer u wasabi or ginger unless you ask for it.

We really enjoyed the local food in this family runned restaurant. You could taste the freshness and love in their dishes. The service is amazing and friendly. If you have food allergies, you could call beforehand and they will serve you with the right dietary requirements and allergens are listed on their menu, which is amazing. The cheese fondue taste like milk mix flower. The goose ragu pasta looks tasty from the picture but the texture of fresh pasta taste like the overnight noodles...horrible (ragu itself is tasty). All cold cut and Lardo made us very disappointed because normally this kind of restaurant in the moutain always offer delicious local cold cut, but the one they offered are even worse than yhe one you can find it in the supermarket. They even ruined Tiramisu which taste like dry thick panna colored in yellow, It is obviously not made by mascarpone cheese. Maybe the high review is because everyone is same as me that we go there by reference of google's review. It is not worthy to book this restaurant so early even that night when we went there were full booked as usual. I never had so bad experience by reference the review of google. Be aware of it if you really have high standard of food and wanna taste good quality mountain good in Aosta, you will be disappointed.

Among the crowded street, it situated in a quiet compound and very peaceful. There were many guests but plates were served very quickly. My plate , as you can see in photo, was very delicious. Goose leg was grill very well and sauce made it perfect. However I’m giving 4 stars because the rest of the plate (potatoes and fried vegetable) didn’t go so well in general. It made the meal a bit heavy. After eating meat with sauce, it would be better if there’s something refreshing like small salad. Aside from that, it was a good meal.

This osteria serves mainly local dishes - so lots of cheese - but specialising in goose, which I didn’t have. My entree of vegetables in pastry on cheese sauce was a bit plain and my veal was the same. But it had gorgeous polenta. My partner’s main was sausages in a tomato sauce on polenta; much tastier. Unusually, the servers are all female and they were all nice. ( no English however)

I can't stress enough that you need to come here for pizza. This might be the best pizza within all of Northern Italy. I find myself driving through the aosta valley a lot these days and I make sure that I schedule my trips to visit iSaulle. They have a great parking lot right out front that always has spaces available and it's right off of the highway. Easy access from aosta or the Great St Bernardo pass. The food is incredible, the ingredients are amazingly fresh as though they were picked that morning from the garden. The flavors blend together so well it's as though they were created with a higher power. The entire menu is absolutely amazing although I often find myself migrating to their pizza as it is like nothing I have ever experienced. If you go out to one restaurant when you're in Northern Italy make it iSaulle. You will not regret it and you will find yourself wanting more. I also want to compliment and mention how friendly every employee and staff member is that works here. It's almost as though it's one big family and from the moment you walk into the door they welcome you and I almost want to reach out and give them a hug. It's that cool of a place. And finally, the prices are incredibly reasonable for what you get. Now go enjoy some pizza and delicious food.

I will leave this review for the owner since I couldn’t say it to his face yesterday when we were there . Next time you have a French speaking group of people coming to your restaurant , give them the French menus that you already have and LET THEM READ WITH calm without coming with your pressure and options . You literally didn’t leave the table since the moment we arrived till we made the order . It was embarrassing and much pressure from your side . You didn’t stop speaking in Italian and giving us options that we barely understood. You brought us appetizers that we didn’t ask for and after paying we realised that we ordered 2 waters and you charged us 5 . Really sad experience. And NO! We didn’t want to eat for free. You should see my reviews from other restaurant . We didn’t tell you anything about eating free or not charging us . We even shout our mouths about the 3 water you charged us . Not nice !

It was our great experience here. This restaurant is not only interesting at the decoration, also the foods are very good. The owner and staffs are very friendly and they have a fun game to play with alcohol, helmet and the baseball bat if you ask for it. The food was edible I guess… the service was terrible after multiple eye contacts we still had to ask the waiter to take the order. Prices are inadequate for what you get.

Amazing local pub. The owner speaks English, warning not much of the staff do. Be nice and come with google translate you can get by. Excellent food, excellent service, atmosphere is unique and rustic.

Overpriced average food. They forgot one of the plates we ordered (never arrived to the table) and the bill wasn’t correct. We came for dinner and the bread as quite stale. The olive oil was great though.

We loved this restaurant!! We had dinner here for each of the 3 days we stayed in Aosta. An extensive menu with a large variety of pizzas. This place has a good buzz and the staff are friendly and helpful. Good value for money. Outdoor seating, so you can watch the world go by.

We have visited the Moderno over many years and went there three times for dinner last week. The food is simple but delicious. It's a busy place so there is a lively atmosphere but we never felt rushed. The staff are welcoming and efficient. The two course set menu is fantastic value at 18 euros in the week and 20 euros at the weekend. The chocolate ice cream is wonderful and enough for two people. We have not tried the pizza but they looked good. We would highly recommend the Moderno for proper Italian food.

This is rather simple looking restaurant shouldn't fool you, they will serve you an excellent food! Everything was so delicious! We simply can't get enough of their appetizers, pizza, pasta and Risotto! They do have a special pizza chef who is way too serious about his business and will watch you as the hawk as you try his masterpiece 😉 Again, he has every right to do so as his pizza simply amazing! Also I really lived mushroom Risotto and pasta carbonara. The only thing if any I can complain about is their dessert game. The could beef it up, but it could be just me coming from France Chamonix spoiled by their desserts 😜 Another good thing to say - that this place is working on Sunday, it is a problem to find restaurant that is open on Sunday in Aosta, so definitely consider it if you are there during the weekend.

In the middle of the hustle and bustle. You are squeezed onto tables around other family’s and friends all equally tucking into the tasty food and supping down litres of unreal Frizzante. Pizzas, pasta, wino - yes please!

A good place to eat. We ate several times during our week in Aosta. It was always busy with the locals. With so much choice in town this should tell you something. The food is basic, typically Italian, pizza and pasta. Prices are competitive and service was quick. This is the sort of place you go for food rather than an extended evening meal. The restaurant as a whole is deceiving. There is an upstairs which is way larger than the downstairs so even if it looks busy it’s worth asking for a table.

Imagine it's a warm saturday afternoon, you are just walking through the ancient streets of Aosta, and all of a sudden you feel an imminent urge for some good wine, snacks, coffee possibly. So, you look left and right, see all these idylic bars and caffeterias. Well, if you walk around this one, you might've just found the right one. We did. The waitress and the owner (?) were extremely nice and helpful to pick the right wine and snacks to go with. We actually ended up buying couple bottles, what we usually don't do. Other than that we just enjoyed amazing (yet very rudimentary) caprese, selection of local cheese and nuts. We didn't checked time anymore and just endulged the atmosphere. Only thing I'd like to change: please serve your caprese with fresh basil leaves. Dried just won't do. Other than that - fantastic job, keep your spirit!

Service was very hit and miss. We had to wait a long time and most (but not all!) waiters were not very friendly. We had pizza and salad. Pizza was OK but not very good (and very oily). The salad not very well described on the menu (in both English and Italian) and composed of a couple of leaves, some nuts and a bread bun with a piece of roasted cheese. We were seeking Valdostan cuisine on a quiet Sunday evening. After being turned away from the better known restaurants, we decided to give this simple hostaria a try. It was a perfect choice for us. The cabbage soup was rich and flavorful, the creamy polenta came out steaming hot covered with delicious melted cheese, and the fonduta was exactly what we had hoped for. If you like a simple place filled with local diners then you’ll enjoy it here.

Very very very good risotto ❤️ one of the best I’ve ever had (except for my own homemade risotto 😉). The service was exceptionally well, the waitress kept her cool while people were asking a lot from her. Nice atmosphere in general!

Beautiful setting in a small square over looking the Roman ruins and the mountain as the back drop. Beer was unbelievable with lots to try and rate. All 10/10 for me. Menu and food was varied with staple pastas which were delicious- try the hybrid - carbonara meets amatriciana - 10/10. The burgers were a hit with the other tables so check them out as well. Booking online was super easy and worth doing. Gutted to not have long in the city to try other things on the menu. Great for summer or ski trips.

We only came here for drinks during late lunchtime. Can get a wine for €4 but they have about have a dozen of their own craft beers between €5.50 - €6. Modern building in a lovely setting.

I really wanted to finish our Aosta experience on a high note. TL;DR - staff does not pay attention to customers with empty beer glasses for almost half an hour. We arrived reasonably full already, however, there was still room for a burger and a couple of beers. The menu is a qr code, that leads to a website that is supposedly in several languages. None of the translations work, it is always in italian and there are no photos of the dishes. Google translate also refused to translate the site for some reason. So we ordered beers and I started copypasting the dishes in the google translate manually, to see what was available. The beers came quickly. As we were drinking them, we had made our minds and chosen a burger and some dish the couple nex to us were having (could not find it in the menu, so was going to ask the waiter). However, no one came. I tried making eye contact and waving, but no avail. Tables around us were getting lots of attention, some more, some less. We sat there with wmpty glasses for more than 20 minutes, until we changed our minds. I went to the bar, we paid and left. Which is a shame, as the food looked and smelled amazing. I have never ever before spent 20 minutes with an empty glass in a bar! Maybe that is normal in Italy, don't know - but normally almost as soon as the glass is empty, someone gets the glass and asks whether to get another one. On the plus side, the beer and chees were good.

nice place for a quick bite. the offer is wide and you can choose between different kinds of burgers. the quality of the ingredients is high and the dishes served are great. the price is a bit high and the staff had been a bit unpolite, but on the whole we had a great experience.

Dining at this pug is going to be a great experience for both families and friends alike. The atmosphere is nice, the service is good and there's plenty of variety on the menu. The burgers are obviously the real protagonists with their huge sizes(!) and relatively good ingredients, with particular attention to the diversity of meat you can choose from. Be sure to come in prepared if you plan on finishing your own! Desserts are also pretty good. Prices are in line with what you're going to be served. The sink for the restrooms could probably be dumped for a decent one.

We ordered a takeaway in person although they are available on food delivery apps, and there's a gf bun option included on the order screen which is fantastic. There is a fantastic selection of gf burgers available on the menu and the gf bun was good. The vegan option is limited to one choice which was a vegetable patty with lots of sauces and salad. It wasn't the tastiest vegan burger we've had, maybe a little bland but would definitely order again. The fries were amazing and the service was great! Quite pricey for a takeaway but would eat in next time for better value

Right at the heart of the city centre, less than 10 min walk from Arco d’Augusto. Puburger offers a wide range of burgers: from classic to veggie, pulled pork etc. they come in different sizes but they’re all HUGE! Normal burgers are all around 10-12€, perfect both for lunch and dinner. Service is super quick and friendly. A must if visiting Aosta!

If you like a big burger made with very cheap ingredients, come to this spot. Otherwise, keep looking for better spot.

Hands down the best pasta I have ever had in my life. I had to put the fork down and contemplate what was happening in my mouth every single time I took a bite. And I took SMALL bites. Unbelievable.

Great place for dinner. We went there without a reservation and the staff were friendly and managed to offer us a table despite a busy evening. Place was busy and the atmosphere is great. Food is amazing, we ordered pizza and pasta and they were both well made. The service is quick and hands on. Highly recommend.

Great atmosphere and service. We did not have a booking, but they accommodated us as a walk-in. Staff was pleasant and asked what language we would prefer to speak! Menus are available in multiple languages as well. The decor looks really great and the food came fast after ordering! Vegetarian pasta was salty and bitter, but maybe that is how it is supposed to taste? Tiramisu was nice and fresh, and the suggested red local wine was devine! Would highly recommend it, but maybe stick to the classic Italian dishes🤭

Had pastas and steaks for dinner; overall service was excellent and prompt. Food was above average but not fantastic.. the porcini pasta did not bring out much flavour of the mushroom; seafood one was decent. The meats were slightly chewy. Saw that other tables almost entire ordered pizzas so maybe that’s their specialty.

Very ordinary food and definitely not a pizza place. I have never seen a Caesar salad like this anywhere in world. Service is really good but food is below average. It was stop over on the way from Geneva to Milan and was totally disappointed.

Great place to taste [big amounts of] local specialties (we had local charcuterie, cheeses, meats, gnocchi, etc.). Food was great, and they accommodate vegetarians as well (🌟) The menu at lunch is filling (come hungry) delicious and includes everything, including some alcohol. Would recommend!

THE Mecca for local food and a great representative of the Aosta Valley's farm grown food. Almost everything including the cheese, jams, etc. were locally produced (can't promise about the polenta though ;)) ). The staff were gracious enough to get me a vegetarian option when faced with no beef-no pork preference. My other half however went the entire mile with the salted beef et all - she loved the food to bits. Highly recommend the place even if it is a couple of miles away from the city centre. Must reserve in advance to eat here. I would even recommend walking the entire 3 miles from the city centre to be able to get even with the calories served here. The portions were unlimited and the cheesecake was splendid. Had to take a walk in between courses to be able to get through the meal :) Improvements: Maybe sign up to a site like "OpenTable" or similar app for booking a table. Had to call but there was no reply. Also perhaps provide a multi-lingual version of the website? in English, French, etc.

Omg what a wonderful place, absolutely fantastic 😍 They had a day of activities for children for Halloween 🎃, they sent us away, the kids had fun with them for 3h, and they have animals, vegetable patches, fantastic place, we will definitely go back.

Very bad service. Food was salty and not tasty. Staff was very unfriendly for non italy tourist. Not recommende to visit foreign tourist this place if you don't want to faste your money. Children room was full with play automats that works only for extra money. There were broken soap automat in the women toilet. At least there was extra 10 euros for "service " in the recipe :(

One of the best - if not the best - pizza restaurants here in Aosta. They offer traditional, high quality neapolitan cuisine - but also a bunch of other dishes, such as salads and poke. They have vegan options, as well, which are great for me as a plant-based eater. Their staff is welcoming and friendly. I come here often and never leave disappointed:)

One of the best restaurant i ever found in aosta. Very typical and cooked with real passion dishes. In the middle of all other touristic restaurant this seems to be different...and it was ! Amazing big portions of dished that are realized to be in the middle of the table to share with each other friends. The portions are so big that if you don’t finish the make a “doggy bag” by default to avoid wasting of food. Big guys, big place !

8/6/24- OK, so first things first- don't come right as they open, they're not ready for their customers. Arrive at 12:30pm. They seem to have trouble opening on time and not everything they serve is hot (bun wasn't toasted hot and sautéed onions were cold). On my first visit I had their special Val-something burger. I added the tometta cheese and asked for no mayo. They still gave me the mayo. The burger was fantastic, but needed to be cooked a little more for my tastes. The 100 gram potatoes they serve were not enough and needed more seasoning. I loved it so much, I went back right when they opened and got the cold items I listed above. When I went back I got a salad. The mozzarella cheese was fantastic, but it had way too much radish and not enough lettuce. This is probably the best burger restaurant in Aosta, but they need to refine their operations and make it easier for the customer to pay to leave. It's a super small location, and the staff has a relaxed attitude, but the relaxed attitude comes with the price of efficiency for the customer. I think the owners found great meat and great cheese and decided to try for burgers, but they need help tying the service restaurant and operation together.

Very mixed feelings. Although the food was very tasty we were very disappointed by the service. It took 1.5 hours to get our burgers, + they forced us to change some of the orders since they suddenly ran out of ingredients. Moreover, the best dessert which is advertised in the main menu ran out, leaving us with bitterness after waiting for a waiter to show up for 30 minutes since we were downstairs.

Nice staff and good service. But the Burgers were quite mediocre.We had two different regional burgers. Not much flavour. Nothing special. And the bun was ‘toasted’ but ended up being dry. Expected so much more of a taste sensation based on the reviews.

Perfect night experience in Italy to eat and drink, service are really amazing, they speak English and have an amazing card of cocktail. You can saw football if you want and the ambiance is really friendly and class.

We were hosting a party of 50 (somewhere else)that had been arranged for 7 months, and aprox 1 month before the date of the party the restaurant said they could not accommodate us, we contacted Ad Forum and they were more than happy to work with us. Christian was very very responsive and worked with us in determining a menu and wine selection. When we arrived, the table was set beautifully and wait staff was ready for us. The food was over the top. Christian was very respectful and asked us when we wanted each course to arrive. We did not feel rushed and everyone had an exceptional time.

Some of the most interesting beers ever 🤩 We had Deus, which is a sort of beer / champagne, it was off the menu, got a recommendation from the waiter (thanks!). They also have a very diverse offering of Belgian beers, quite outstanding was Blomenbier, totally recommend it. Lovely place!

The location is super cozy and has characteristics and cure for details. The waiters are friendly and super nice, their suggestions for wines were excellent. The food was overall ok, the entrees were actually very good, the tartare was well seasoned and very pleasant, the fondue was as it should be, nothing to complain about. The main courses were less exciting, the "Valdostrana" wanted to be a revisitation of the topical "valdostana" but was not convincing and the entrecote was just ok. I didn't like the fact that all the main dishes are served with the same salad as the side, it denotes a lack of fantasy or a lack of effort. Ok but can be better

Felt like a neighborhood spot for alpine cuisine. We are Americans from out of town but everyone else there was Italian. The Polenta was so great and the Gnocchi was some of the best I’ve had. Soft spoken man (maybe the owner?) was so kind and helped us navigate the menu. Will be back next time I’m in town

A “must to go” restaurant in the valley. First of all the lady who owns the restaurant is working there and you can feel the hospitality of a small business compared with just some employees. Second, the food is really good, we ordered polenta con carbonada, but she brought to taste also the ragu con funghi sauce. Both were super good, but the ragu one was amazing… a different flavor I have never tasted before. The local wine is also very very good and qualitative, and I super recommend you to try the liquor she is making. Last, but not least, the prices are super cheap compared with everything you’ll have in Aosta Valley. I highly recommend this restaurant for traditional food and family business.

Had the most amazing evening at the Maison Bandi for a friend's birthday. Very clever electonic menu in 5 languages.The food was an absolute treat, great local dishes cooked to perfection. The hosts were fantastic, attentive and also plying us with locally made genepy. We learned that everything served in the restaurant has come from within the Aosta Valley! Would give this place a 6th star if I could :)

We had Drinks and dinner at this restaurant we had the five Months matured beef, de Quality and tenderness where excellent,also the way of cooking. Price was also more than reasonable for the quality .

Walking through the town of Aosta (ancient Roman town) and stumbled across Madison Brandi. The cured meats and the white wine was fabulous. The owner served us, she was very accommodating and extremely attentive to our eating experience.

Great homemade fresh pasta and ravioli. They make it every day and it seems to be a family operation the chef and main server were brothers. Lots of interesting sauces and pastas that you could combine and even take way for later. It’s pretty tiny so not a proper restaurant. But great for a quick lunch or take away pasta to make at home.

Lovely shop/bar with freshly made pasta. The owner is very friendly and took his time to explain everything to us. We ordered some pasta and choose to eat it inside. It was very flavorfull and delicious. You can also buy the fresh pasta to cook at home. We really loved this place! As a tourist you have to go and try it. The pasta is simply so much better then the pasta we eat at home.

Buonissimo! Serving up delicious pasta and antipasti in a very quaint atmosphere. We pass through Aoste every summer and enjoy the friendly service and fresh pasta cooked to perfection. If you're looking for a spot to enjoy delicious pasta and a convicial moment, be sure to check out l'officina della pasta. Recommendation, drop in as you're passing by on your visit of the piedestrian zone to assure you have a table when you're ready to sit down and enjoy this unique and delicious experience. Space is limited (ideal for parties of 6 or less), and it's worth the wait if you need to circle back, typically within 20 or 30 minutes. They will hold a table for you and you won't regret it!

Delicious, homemade pasta with choice of a few different sauces. 12 euro for appetizer, pasta, dessert, and bottled water. Would be nice if they offered salads or fresh vegetables. Excellent, friendly service. Unfortunately only bar seating.

You can buy fresh pasta to cook yourself, or if you just want to eat they will cook it for you! The staff is friendly, pasta delicious and prices reasonable. A must try in Aosta!

Possibly we had too high expectations given tge reviews. Food was good but nothing spectacular. It could have been a bad day but the lady that served us was rolling her eyes all the time we told her to give us some more until we decide what to eat. They bring the meat to your table on a hot plate and leave it being cooked even though we asked for it being medium rare it was served rare. When asked, the waiter did not seem bothered and he just left. Perhaps we were there on a day when things were not going the right way for them but certainly not a memorable experience, especially compared to the other restaurants we went to during our stay.

Simply magnificent. We came here once and after trying the tartar we came back again the next day. The meat in this restaurant just melts in your mouth. If you can go only to 1 restaurant in the Aosta region it has to be this one. Will come back again and again anytime we are in the area.
