The Blue Sky Hotel and Tower is an elegant retreat located in Mongolia's business district, housed in Ulaanbaatar's tallest building. The hotel offers luxurious accommodations with spacious rooms featuring modern amenities such as complimentary Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs. Guests can indulge in a pampering experience at the renowned spa-kopr Center salon. The hotel boasts top-notch facilities including an indoor pool, gym, sauna, and business center.
The best hotel in Ulaanbaatar! I booked a room here for my business partner who stayed in Ulaanbaatar for 2 days. The hotel is in the beautiful Blue Sky building and truly exceeded expectations. He said the room was amazing and really enjoyed his stay. We even had the chance to discuss business in the sauna / which was free for the guest/ where we ended up closing a great deal all thanks to the hotel’s excellent atmosphere. The staff offered great service and even upgraded his room for free. Everything was absolutely fantastic. The location is the best in the city, better than any other hotel. Definitely worth it and highly recommended for both business and leisure.
Buynbat — Google review
Nothing like a 4 star hotel. Upon check in, the room wasn’t ready for another hour and a half although we arrived on the proper check in time. Finally, once we have gotten our room we booked, problems only kept coming up. For starters the room was freezing, AC was at its lowest and strongest and was probably left on since the week before. Secondly, the best were also nothing like what we’ve asked for so we needed to get that clarified. Heavily limited amenities in the room for a 4 star hotel. Breakfast was the worst, I travel a lot, always open to explore and try new cuisines and new food, but as a foreigner and after a long day of travel , the restaurant, along with the breakfast, had nothing to eat. Very limited menu and an almost non existent selection of drinks, just Cola and water. The location tho is obviously great, located right in the heart of the city and within walkable distance to any major tourist attraction in the city. Overall, this is not a 4 star hotel, ridiculously overrated and overpriced for the service you get.
Google G — Google review
We stayed at the Blue Sky Hotel in Mongolia and were very disappointed with the experience. Despite arriving at 3AM after a long journey, the hotel would not allow us to check in until 3PM unless we paid a very high rate for just a half-day stay. The elevators are slow plus one was not working, and the staff overall was not very helpful. To make matters worse, housekeeping attempted to enter our room without knocking first, which was very unprofessional. The hotel itself feels old and dated — definitely not the luxury standard it claims to be, more like a 2-star property. Electrical outlets in the room are inconveniently placed, with none located near the bed, making it very difficult to charge devices. For the price, the value simply isn’t there. I would not recommend this hotel unless significant improvements are made.
Ron G — Google review
This hotel was very disappointing - no way is it worthy of 4 or 5 stars. For a start it's expensive. The rooms are looking dated and the air-conditioning didn't work. I was there end of July with outside temperatures around 30C and the room was like a sauna. On a couple of days the water ran brown. The central location is very convenient but it's next to an outdoor bar complex that plays live music all night which is actually pretty loud and intrusive if you're room is on the same side of the building (which mine was). The entrance and reception is a bland unwelcoming space. Service was very hit and miss - the staff at breakfast were very nice and mostly helpful but the coffee service was inconsistent; some days they'd serve coffee at my table and other days I had to go and ask. In contrast the staff at reception were generally terrible. Bad attitude and not that helpful. As an example, the day before leaving I attended reception in person to prebook a transfer to the airport and have it charged to my room (as I was not carrying cash). When I checked out the following day I was told the car had not been booked - I was directed to catch a taxi (which I couldn't do as I had no cash). They then suggested charging to my room then giving me the cash to give to the driver. I waited a further 15 minutes then had to ask what was going on only to be told that they'd paid the driver he was waiting for me outside. Since returning home I've discovered I wasn't given a receipt for my stay - I've emailed the hotel to ask for a copy via email. That was over a month ago and I'm yet to get a reply. Loved visiting Ulaanbaatar but would not stay here again.
C C — Google review
It probably used to be nice when it opened, but facilities are getting old. Service is messy and not professional for the price you pay. We had several issues like getting a room that someone was already staying in - we opened the door on them. There was no hot water running for most of the stay without warning or compensation. The only good things are the views and location. If it’s your first time visiting Mongolia, I would avoid staying here as it might impact your overall experience negatively.
Francis J — Google review
Horrible experience. I stayed here twice on my mongolian trip and the air conditioning wasn't working in both rooms, and apparently in any room in the hotel. The temperature in my room was 32 C by noon and 28 C at night with both windows open! When i complained at the front desk, they said the ac was broken, which i find hard to believe as it was working in the hallways and lobby. Also it doesn't take a week to fix an AC, in case they really wanted to. They told me to just open the windows instead! What i think happened was that they turned it off in the rooms to save money thinking that just because it is cool outside the guests wouldn't need the ac in the rooms. More than 150 usd per night to not even have ac in the room! Unacceptable! And you couldn't even turn off the fan of the ac that just kept blowing warm air inside the room. Shower drain smelled of sewage. The water overflows into the bathroom when you take a shower. Also, the area is really noisy (loud music, cars), lots of traffic, the building is half offices so there are lots of people coming and going, lifts always busy, the lobby looks more like a train station than a hotel. When you turn off the lights at night, all outlets stop working, so don't even think about charging you phone overnight. Wifi is bad and keeps failing. This place is a let down in so many ways it is not even funny! This is not a 4-5 stars hotel by any stretch of the imagination!
Alex B — Google review
Breakfast starts only at 7 am where traffic will be very congested. Aircon in rooms are not working. Check in is terrible. Made to pay extra for checking in even an hour before 2 pm. Made arrangements to have room service delivered to my room at 5 .30 am but room service stopped at 2 am. When my order was not delivered, front office refused to compensate me when I requested for a dinning voucher. I would not recommend anyone to stay who is working on a business trip.
Allan T — Google review
Horrible stay. The WiFi was weak, the air conditioning barely worked, and the rooms are very dated. But by far the worst part was the musical festival playing right outside our hotel room until midnight. There was absolutely no mention of this when we checked in even though it had to have been going on for several of the previous nights. When we mentioned to the front desk they simply said “it is out of our control” with no apologies or sympathy for our inability to rest in their hotel. The bathrooms in the lobby were always dirty, no toilet paper and smelled absolutely foul. If you have the means, don’t stay here. If you must stay here, please set your expectations on the floor.

Shangri-La Ulaanbaatar is a luxurious hotel with elegant rooms and three restaurants, as well as a health club featuring a pool and gym. The rooms offer stunning views of the National Amusement Park or Sukhbaatar Square, equipped with amenities like flat-screen satellite TV, coffee/tea maker, and a heated bathroom with separate shower and bathtub.
Luxury hotel and excellent foods! Love the ribs at club lounge. Thank you very much to Monica who taking care of us and offer me to get the bigger wine glass! Great hospitality and convenient. Love smoothie section at the breakfast. Shopping center and hospital is not too far. 1 hour far from the airport by car. Very happy to stay at this hotel.
Sirisopapan S — Google review
Very disappointed with the service of this hotel. They claim to be 5 star but my 2 night stay was filed with poor and confused service. When we arrived, they switched our room with our travel companions. We asked for a queen bed but they gave us the room with 2 separate beds. We sorted this out ourselves by switching with our travel companions. When we got to our room, none of the wall sockets worked, had to call to have this sorted out. We ordered room service and they confused our orders and only one of the two orders arrived. Further, upon check out, they charged the room service of both rooms to me despite telling them upon check in to charge us separate. They voided the mistaken charge but charged the other rooms bill to me instead of my room service bill. Breakfast is also inconsistent as I ate the same thing for the 2 days of Breakfast but they were different from each other. Overall not the standard I was expecting for a 5 star hotel.

A truly wonderful hotel, very clean and well-maintained. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the service is professional and responsive. The location is excellent and close to amenities, and the breakfast is varied and delicious. A highly recommended stay for anyone looking for comfort and a classy atmosphere

It is the best hotel in Ulanbataar, perfectly located in the heart of the city. It has the Shangr-La mall just 20 second from the entrance, where you can choose among different restaurants and shops, as well as the supermarket and the fitness club. The hotel is nice and big, service is generally good. Great for conferences and parties.
Marcello P — Google review
This is one of the best and most modern places in Mongolia. The mall, hotel, and many nice bars and coffee shops are all inside. I especially highly recommend the restaurant inside the hotel on the second floor—you should visit and relax there with your friends. The mall also has a lot of great shopping options.
Volkan O — Google review
Nice hotel, but overpriced, the rooms are quite old and did not see any refurbishment lately. I don’t know why the charge so much, yes the service is good and location is good, but rate per night is too high
Almas S — Google review
I recently stayed at the Shangrila Ulaanbaatar in August 2025 and had the most wonderful experience. The room was big & the bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. The comfort was much appreciated after a full day of touring! The staff were very attentive and always ready to assist. The mgnt team (the GMs of the hotel & the mall) were easily accessible & always making guests feel welcomed & comfortable. The food & drinks at the hotel were great too! My travel group always ended the night at Nadaam which exudes a very chill vibe. The hotel is centrally located and is next to the Shangrila mall. The mall boasts many shops & food outlets including a supermarket. Thank you again to the team at Shangrila for making my visit to Mongolia so memorable!
Eunice B — Google review
Probably the most luxurious hotel in Mongolia's capitol city and absolutely worth whatever rate you book at. Walking distance to city center square & shopping mall right across the street. Front desk fluent in English. Note Shangri-La is a worldwide chain.

Experience the epitome of luxury at Kempinski Hotel Khan Palace Ulaanbaatar, located in the Bayanzurkh District. This modern hotel offers 102 stylishly decorated guestrooms with amenities such as free Wi-Fi, comfortable beds, and en suite bathrooms. Guests can enjoy a range of facilities including a fitness center, spa, sauna, and two upscale restaurants. The hotel also provides convenient services like free parking, airport shuttle, and car rental. Situated just 2.
Great staff. Very good food and services. Rooms are nice and clean. Comfortable and rather spacious. Highly recommended. Not as fancy as Kempinski in other cities maybe? Walkable to central city but better to use bus or car- so not as convenient location-wise if you walk a lot but it’s close enough
Sam O — Google review
An absolutely wonderful stay! The rooms are spacious and spotless, and the breakfast spread was excellent. The staff went above and beyond with their warmth and service, making me feel truly at home. Spa , coffee, bar n restaurant.. it has it all Easily one of the best hotels in Mongolia!
Vidhyaa ( — Google review
We stayed three nights at this hotel and everything was good. Room was very spacious, breakfast was good and service and excellent. The only problem we faced on the night we checked in. We arrived after spending 2 and half hours on road from airport to hotel. Then realized that there is only 1 litre water for two persons. The gentleman at the reception flatly refused to provide additional water. There was no water in the mini bar that we could use. It was a very uncomfortable night for me. My request to the hotel, please provide extra water and charge for it, but don't refuse to provide it.
Soudamini M — Google review
For a 5 star hotel the experience was simply bad: rooms and food were mediocre to good, but the service was exceptionally bad. Namely we had to spend about 2 hours all together reviewing the incorrect invoice, we were lucky to do that before the checkout, because otherwise we would likely miss our flight. On top of that after the bill was closed they tried to book some services double, which was absolutely unacceptable. Poor English knowledge of some staff, dirty dishes in the restaurant, massage personnel being one hour late for the appointment completed the picture. On the other hand the transfer service, art exhibition in the lobby, breakfast offering and complementary water bottles in the rooms were good.
Alexander B — Google review
It was a last-minute choice, but I do not regret it. All staff can speak English and have a high hospitality mind. The room is comfortable, quiet, and equipped to the highest standard. I love the shoe polishing service.
Sandy J — Google review
I spent almost two weeks in Mongolia but only three nights at the Kempinski with the rest of the trip in gers throughout Central Mongolia. Let me tell you there's nothing like coming back to the soft beds and quiet rooms at the Kempinski. Arriving near midnight, the desk agent Turbold was about as professional as it gets. His mannerisms would go far in the hospitality industry in the United States. My wife got a massage at the spa, and she reported that it was amazing. I ate pastries and had coffee at the cafe in the lobby. The pastries were excellent. My son and I worked out in the gym. It was sufficient and had just enough equipment to provide a good vacation workout. Let the star of the stay was our dinner at the Japanese restaurant. I will comment on that later. If the food at the other restaurants compares to the japanese restaurant or the cafe in the lobby, The Kempinski easily earns my high ratings. Spending two weeks in Mongolia has been filled with memories. I'm happy to say that the Kempinsky Hotel was an excellent way to start and end my Mongolia vacation.
M C — Google review
The hotel is considered the 2nd best hotel in UB. The staff are wonderful and charming and will do everything in their power to help. The hotel in about 30 min. walk from the main square, or 8 minutes drive if there's no traffic. It is relativly close to the Black Market. Breakfast has a veriety of options, including fresh vegetables, fruits, eggs, cheese, meat, beans & bacon etc.

The Grand Hill Hotel in Ulaanbaatar, conveniently located near cultural attractions, offers a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The 4-star hotel features free Wi-Fi, two dining options, and a bar. Guests can pamper themselves at the full-service spa or enjoy recreational amenities like a fitness center and karaoke. With its friendly staff and various activities available, including a hot tub and meeting space, this polished hotel provides everything needed for an entertaining stay in Downtown Ulaanbaatar.
The hotel was really comfortable and nice. I was worried about quality when I booked but I was pleasantly surprised. We got the junior suite for a good price and thought it was worth the price. The bathroom was spacious and had many toiletries. I thought the bathroom was dimly lit especially the shower and could be better lit. The bed was comfortable and the room had several windows with lots of light and great curtains as well”. There was a could and a kitchenette which were great. The location isn’t ideal it’s too far to walk to the city and traffic in Ulaanbatar is quite bad as well so taxis were a difficult option. The breakfast was good - great variety and selection of food, pastries and drinks. There is a cafe and boutique cashmere shop in the lobby as well which are really nice. The restaurant upstairs is also open late and has great food and views of the city!
Veera N — Google review
The service and staff were terrible. They didn’t even have a toothbrush in the room. The workers misunderstood us and made us wait for 20 minutes, even though it was a slow time with no other guests before me
Bayar B — Google review
It is a good hotel with all commodities. Breakfast is reasonable with large variety. The rooms are large. There is a nice restaurant in the top which can get too noisy.
Rui F — Google review
How could fully occupied 300 rooms hotel have 2 elevators service for guest? We have to use a stairs to go up and down for breakfast and lobby... No need Gym in this hotel though. Staffs: it was indeed piece of mind to go back to the room and found sparkling clean room, they also trash us things they think it's a garbage... So if it's not, keep it nicely. Air ventilation with smoking people: whatever floor you are, people will smoke in the room, and we gonna get the smell... We got them all the time and I don't know how could the allergy people cope with it. Location: convenience store, drugs store, 🏧, café, chicken n beer shop all around. For down town, take a taxi always possible. Breakfast: I found new menu here. Make you own KIMBAP. 😋
Bob C — Google review
Let’s start with the good. Make sure you get the breakfast included at the Irish pub on the top floor. It is amazing with amazing views over Ulaanbaatar. The location was pretty good not too far to go if you catch a cab to anywhere. Make sure you download the UBCab app before you get here. There not too much around the hotel. As for the room it was alright except the doors open outwards and allow lots of noise from the lobby to come in. The air conditioning in my room also doesn’t work so I was left rather boiling during the night. But aside from that I had a good nights sleep.
T — Google review
Room is nice and big. But the service is not, charge me water bottle even I didnt used there water bottle in the ref but it was refunded. When I leaving going to moron. Then when I came back and leave to korea overcharge me of 2 mini vodka which the menu price 9500 each and charge me 9800. That I complain and change to 9500. So as a traveler be aware of what they charge you.

Ramada by Wyndham Ulaanbaatar Citycenter is a sleek hotel located in the Bayangol District of Ulaanbaatar. It boasts 125 well-equipped rooms, a rooftop restaurant with stunning views, and in-room bathtubs for relaxation. The hotel's prime location makes it convenient for travelers arriving via train at Ulaanbaatar's Central Railway Station and provides easy access to the city's vibrant nightlife on Seoul Street.
Me and my husband staying for 2 nights, and we must say that this hotel is BETTER than the rest of Hotel's that we reserved in Ulaanbaatar. The check inn desk staff English was fluent, kind and professional. They allowed us to enter the room even before check inn time for free, even upgraded our room to suites and since we had Wedding Anniversary, they provided us some complimentary. This hotel located right in the front of busy traffic road, but less sounds that we could hear from outside, so we could sleep peacefully. They provided room services until 10pm which is perfect for people who lazy to going outside. This hotel has everything nearby, cafe's, mall's, convenience store, shopping center, museum's, local market, terminal etc. unfortunately we haven't try their breakfast yet, so we definitely come back again to try their breakfast in the future.

I had a great stay at Ramada Ulaanbaatar! The rooms were very clean and well-maintained, offering everything needed for a comfortable stay. The breakfast was a real highlight – extremely varied and suitable for all tastes, from local to international options. What made it even more special was enjoying it at the restaurant on the 17th floor, with a stunning panoramic view of the city. The staff was also excellent – professional, friendly, and always ready to help. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Ulaanbaatar!
Roxana U — Google review
The staff are absolutely wonderful and a credit to the hotel. Every single member of staff I came across was fantastic and couldn’t do enough to make sure you had a great stay. The hotel itself is dated and in need of renovation . The public areas, corridors and rooms are quite tired and dingy. I had to move rooms three times (due to noise) so request a quiet room if road noise bothers you. Bathrooms are fine, good amenities and great water pressure. Breakfast was mediocre. I didn’t try the gym and there is an extra charge for sauna and jacuzzi. The rooftop bar is great, amazing sunset views of the city. The location is great, lots of restaurants, shops and museums within 30 minutes walk. It’s on one of the main streets in UB which has its pros and cons. Well connected but road noise is constant. I can’t compare to other hotels in UB but by European standards, it’s a dated 3 star.
Reena R — Google review
Friendly staff and great location to museums (30 mins walking) and other shopping malls. They have a skylounge to show city overview and terrace. It is a bit old, but they provide amenities for your toilet articles and relatively quiet. 1-3 floor is a shopping mall. A church was there for a Sunday service for foreigners.
Chan H — Google review
Hotel is clean and conveniently situatated. There is a concierge staff by the name of Shaggy. The man, the legend. Shaggy doest not eat, Shaggy does not sleep, Shaggy makes sure you get all that you need. Speak to him for a few minutes and he will gaurentee you have a great time in UB
Charles P — Google review
We were landed in Mongolia due to a technical issue and were sent to the Ramada to spend the night. The rooms are set to be extremely unbearable warm, and the temperature is not easy to adjust. The rooms were alright, standard hotel room bedroom. Unfortunately, our food accommodations were really terrible. We were fed cold leftovers from the morning buffet for dinner, and the vegetarians were served meals with eggs with no warning. We ate essentially the same meal four separate times, each time colder and more stale than the last meal. The restaurant staff could not communicate in English, and were inattentive and provided us with hot drinks that were cold, and didn’t bring any water until explicitly asked and then translated through the restaurant house manager. Finally, the people in Ulaanbataar were extremely unwelcoming. In the shopping centers, I was followed around by store owners who were presumably under the impression that I was there to steal. Several other guests (possibly Mongolian, but not sure) were rude and racist towards our party. We were a large party of mostly Indians who were landed here against our will, and the experience was very poor. As far as travel destinations go, my experience was brief, but extremely poor. I did not expect to be harassed by other guests at the hotel, nor did I expect to be treated with predetermined suspicion. For that alone, I would never voluntarily come here again.

Royal House Hotel 2 is situated in Ulaanbaatar and offers a restaurant, bar, and city views. The hotel provides room service and has a sun terrace for guests to enjoy. While some visitors have praised the good service and nice interior, others have experienced issues with the air conditioning in their rooms. Additionally, there have been mixed reviews about the staff's language skills and friendliness. Despite this, the hotel is considered a decent option for dining or other activities at reasonable prices.
First, the good parts. Staff is friendly, though checkin very nice . The breakfast included with the room was excellent. They did a great job at a very reasonable price
Enku E — Google review
They charged us $100 USD for laundry and when we said that was an excessive price (way more than local prices, more than US prices even), they offered to give us a 50% discount and they would take the other 50% out of the receptionists salary. It’s incredibly morally wrong to take that much money out of a new, non English speaking employee’s paycheck when the problem is an institutional policy. Also the WiFi didn’t work for our floor and no one knew the password and no one tried to fix it. There was gum caked into the carpet and the bathtub stopper was broken.
Jennifer D — Google review
Rooms was a mess AC did not work. The carpet was torn and dirty. The bathtub was cracked and the shower head was leaking. The basin drain was blocked. Breakfast was good

Big hotel and quite modern, it's located near the city centre about 25 min by foot to Khaan square. There are store, night club from the other side of building. The standard single room is ok, commodious with big comfy bed. Breakfast is very good

Hostel
Nestled in the heart of Ulaanbaatar, Town Yard Hostel and Tours offers a cozy retreat for travelers seeking an authentic Mongolian experience. Managed by a friendly family from Central Mongolia, this hostel is not just about providing beds; it’s about creating memorable journeys. With spacious accommodations featuring eight beds in a bright and clean environment, guests can enjoy free WiFi, a shared lounge, and even private parking if needed.
We spent our 3 first nights in Mongolia at Town Yard. The place was clean, pleasant to be, the dorm was confortable, the living room spacious, everything was perfect. The location is great as the Gandantegchinlen Monastery is 200 metres away and the city centre, reachable in 10-15 minutes by walk. We were welcomed by the owners, very friendly and nice people who gave us a lot of advices and help, to plan our stay in Mongolia. As we really enjoyed the environment here, everytime we were coming back for few days at UB, we were staying there, feeling like at home. We also went on a tour organised by them, which were definitely our 12 best days in Mongolia. The welcome and care of the family was so nice and warm that I would definitely recommend you to stay there.
Clo R — Google review
The location on Google Maps is correct, but the exact route it'll give you is not. You’ll want to go through the street parallel to the one Google's itinerary suggests. The hostel is cozy, run by a friendly Mongolian family who can speak great English. Discussing Mongolia with the older hosts provided a lot of interesting insight. No complaints about hygiene, the kitchen is well-equipped, and the beds are comfortable. My only gripes were the lack of plugs (extension cords in the dorm room are needed) and the spotty Wifi in some areas.
Hillal — Google review
The owners are very nice. The breakfast is good and the shower is hot. This area of UB has a modern vibe with lots of malls and nice places to eat. Would recommend!
Desiree M — Google review
If you're looking for a tour, definitely DON'T go with them. Mongolia is an amazing country with spetacular places. If you don't wanna ruin your trip, chose Sunpath, Camel Track and similar professional ones. Before start the tour, the owner promises everything he can, but most of his promises is a lie, and what really matter for him and his wife is the money. I did a 30 day tour with my husband and a friend on july, 2016. All the camp equipments were dirty and broken. There was no cover to the tent, and the sleeping bag zipper and tent door was broken. The driver, called Beijing, was not able to talk and understand English. That's ok, because its usual in Mongolia, but the owner lie about it. Beijing was an experient driver, but in the same hand, he was very rude, and the only word he was able to say was "NO"! In the second day, Beijing said the car was broken and it was not possible to continue the journey, so, we lose one day in another city. Suddenly in the next day, he said the car was good. In the last 2 days, he skipped the itinerary and ran as faster as possible, so, we discover he had another guests to start a new tour. He asked for more money, but we denied. In the way back, he put locals and a big washing machine in the car we rented, without asking, but we were so tired about him, that we accepted without questioning. In the west Mongolia, we were almost fined, escorted and arrested by the army, because the owner made a big mistake about the permits we needed for some places, and he didn' admit his mistakes. This is a small part of the problems we had in this tour and the only reason we didn't abandon the tour was because we decided to leave our backpacks in the guesthouse in Ulanbatoor. When we came back to UB, the owner and his wife were very rude and screamed with us, they didn't care about our complaints and the only thing they said was they wanted the money. We were traveling for 2 years around the world, we are really easygoing people, we like to treat people with respect and courtesy. Mongolia is a place full of beauty and we felt in love with this blessed place, but some bad things happen and you need to manage things. I hope I can help people to avoid bad experiences in Mongolia with this kind of people that don't care about travellers and the money is the only thing they care.

Additionally, the travel agency run by the owner offers well-organized tours around Mongolia with a helpful and humorous guide. The guest house is praised for its good service, helpful staff, and convenient amenities such as a kitchen and laundry facilities.
We stayed 2 weeks at this wonderful guesthouse and had a great time! Convenient location, which is close to downtown and sightseeing, perfect hosts who have great information to share on what to do, eat and see in the area. It is obvious how much they enjoy what they are doing. I have never met such caring and concerned hosts! Breakfast was free and it was incredible! It's a really happy place to stay. We highly recommend the Majestic Gobi guesthouse and will return next year!

The shower and toilet are shared between three rooms, but this did not interfere with our comfort, since we did not intersect with our neighbors. There is a kitchen with everything you need. The owner is very friendly and speaks Russian. The hostel is located in the city center, which is convenient. For shopping and sightseeing. I recommend it. (Original) Отличный хостел. If you're on the hunt for luxurious cashmere at fantastic prices, the GOBI Flagship Store in Galleria is an essential stop on your journey. This iconic destination showcases a wide array of beautifully crafted cashmere products, making it ideal for finding that perfect gift or a special treat for yourself. While some items may be from previous seasons, the savings are significant compared to other city shops. Nestled in Ulaanbaatar's industrial suburbs, it's best accessed by taxi.
If you love warm and quality clothing, you must visit this popular store in Mongolia. They have a good selection for men, women and children. It’s a beautiful store with a cafe inside. They have a ‘sale’ section for women and a special promotion of buy 5 scarves and get the 6th for free. The prices are reasonable considering the quality is excellent and you won’t find better prices anywhere else. There’s no tax if you’re a foreigner buying over 500,000 Mongolian Tugrik. You will need your passport. Happy shopping!

One of the amazing brands. And I would call it the local brand with outstanding quality in all aspects including customer service experience. The atmosphere and the vibe was literally everything here. The whole experience was incredible
Waleed M — Google review
There is a production factory next door, and this is the sales floor. The products are neatly displayed in a spacious area, giving it an even more luxurious feel. The space is spacious and you can see each item carefully. I think this is the only place where you can find so many products made from cashmere. Unfortunately, there may be a lack of color variations and size options. Also, there are few products that give off a Mongolian feel, and their simplicity stands out. I would like it to be positioned as a luxury cashmere product that is unique to Mongolia.

Novotel Ulaanbaatar is a modern hotel located in the heart of the city center, offering a stress-free and convenient stay. The colorful exterior and clean, spacious rooms provide a comfortable atmosphere. With three restaurants, two bars, an indoor pool, and free Wi-Fi, guests have everything they need on-site. The hotel's proximity to Sukhbaatar Square allows for easy exploration of Ulaanbaatar.
I had the pleasure of staying here based on a recommendation, and it truly lived up to expectations. The service was excellent – the staff were experienced, friendly, and helpful at all times. The hotel was spotlessly clean, and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. The on-site restaurants were also impressive, offering a wide variety of dishes, wines, and cocktails. Finally, the location is perfect for exploring the city – everything is within easy reach. Highly recommended!

The service for this hotel is ridiculous…. Company booked a room for our director but due to last minute urgent matter was unable to make the flight and trip to Mongolia. Yes the cancellation was last minute but it was cancelled prior to check in…. The hotel didn’t allow the cancellation… Hence our local team staff requested from them to allow our local team to use the room and stay in the room since $$ has been paid… THE HOTEL Said NO…. Even though we said we can give an authorised letter stating the name of our local staff to *Take Over* the PAID room… THE HOTEL Said NO AGAIN.. I totally understand on the no refund policy but NOT TO ALLOW someone else to stay even with an authorised letter is unreasonable…. TQVM but no thanks ….

Great location. Within walking distance to the mall, coffee shops, and convenience store is right across the street. Room is big, comfortable, and clean. Breakfast and dinner are both okay. Delicious food.

The room itself is fine though there was no heating. They have to bring in a portable heater and you have to call many times to get their attentions. The front desk information is conflicting and unfriendly. The service is very poor overall. This has to be the worst Novotel I stay and definitely not 5-star

Good location north of the main plaza but expect long commute from the airport, last it took us more than 2 hours. Breakfast food is good and varied, nice for a good start of the day. Room is large and functional. Service is poor, we left room at 8am with a sign to clean the room and on the way back at 2.30pm... still not cleaned. You called desk to come and clean 2 hours later but they send someone immediately and that person knocks on the despite the red light do not disturb. Management needs to step in. Service is letting you down.

I booked this hotel for my friends visiting from USA. They booked 5 months in advance on booking.com and paid. I even called and spoke with their booking manager Erdenesuren in the morning of their arrival and confirmed their reservation. When we arrived around 6 pm on check in day, we were told that they couldn’t find our reservation at first. When we showed them the confirmation and mentioned the phone call we made prior arrival, she said ( I assume Erdenesuren) that they received 12 rooms reservation before our arrival and gave our room to those people. What ???!! What kind of hotel does that?? She didn’t even apologize and had an attitude, even pretended she doesn’t speak English. When I asked her in Mongolian she said that she will send us to a different hotel named Happiness hotel instead which was 2 times cheaper in a weird location!!! Don’t book in advance and don’t trust these people. I don’t know why she has such attitude when she was the one who made a mistake and gave our pre-booked and paid room to her friends . I wonder if she was related to the management of the hotel?? All other employees looked miserable, irritated. I’ve never seen any hotel with such hostile and miserable employees. Stay away!!
Aldi I — Google review
We stayed 7 nights and it was all very average. The bath was not cleaned and had hair in the plug, the room was not restocked each day. When asked about getting assistance to make an international call, the reception said they'd get back to me and I never heard back. Follow up support seemed to difficult and we gave up. We tried to book online and the system wasn't streamline. We asked a colleague to book us in and was charged $50 more each night for the same room as advertised online. Very disappointing. The open air car parking was a good bonus.

Bayangol Hotel is one of the oldest and most original hotels in Ulaanbaatar, and it really carries that classic charm! The location is unbeatable — right in downtown and within walking distance to everything you might need: restaurants, shops, museums, and government offices. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the service is professional, and you really feel the history of the place when you stay here. A solid choice if you want convenience and a touch of local heritage. Highly recommend!

This hotel is very very old. I think this hotel is built about 50 years ago. Seems like old Soviet era building. Floor makes noise when I step anywhere, mattress is too soft, bathroom is weird and smelly. Something keep coming out from faucet water. I stayed better hotel with this money at anywhere else in the world. But location is too good. Center of capital. I heard rumor that some women knocking door at night for money. Please don't open the door at night to anyone.

This is one of the older hotels in Ulaanbaator, and it shows. You can tell from the breakfast room (ballroom) and lobby that at one time it was something, but it is dated, and somewhat falling apart. We stayed there twice, at the beginning and end of our trip. The first check in was a fiasco - with the front desk staff telling us we had no reservation, then turning their backs on us - so unhelpful. It was sorted eventually, but we were put in the wrong tower. The room had no hot water. Another couple had their bathtub flood the room, and were told it was their fault for using the tub. Yikes! The elevators barely could take 4 people - and honestly the place needed a major makeover.

Great location and great value. We stayed on the hostel floor and the twin room was huge with a lovely and very clean en suite. The room was extremely warm, so much so, we needed to open a window on the warmer days! A simple but adequate breakfast was included. The tiny coffee shop near reception did decent coffee as well. Highly recommended and I will use this hotel again.

Excellent location. Close to center, shops, supermarket and restaurants. Front door access should be better managed for hotel guest to drop off. My group stayed at the 22nd floor private hostel rooms. Bed was very comfortable. Rooms were generally clean. But some rooms had missing towel, no toilet paper, missing drink in the fridge at time of check-in. So be careful. Breakfast was very basic and available between 0800-1000. Free Wi-Fi was fast but some rooms had poor signal.

First of all, millions of thanks to the manager Anand, who helped us to settle our booking of our transportation and stay in UB and the trip to Gobi. There’s a spacious living room and an open kitchen with a dining area in the hostel. The hostel offers laundry service with a reasonable price (US$5/bucket). The staff and drivers are very helpful and friendly. Will highly recommend Zaya to anyone who wants to travel to Mongolia.

For second stay, owner does not respond when asked for confirmation on cancellation. Due to flight cancellation. Know it’s a request on the day , but still I’ll expect a yes/no answer. But no, he just ignore my message and proceed with the charging. In previous stay, it’s difficult to find the hostel when first checkin. Called the phone numbers but no answer. Took some time to find a contact that owner then answered. Also the room was hot. Was thinking about travel partnership but I guess he is not reliable and I’ll look for others.

They were very helpful with arranging an airport transfer. We travelled with three bikes and they were able to accommodate this. Very helpful with storing our bike boxes while we explored Mongolia.

I booked this hostel via Booking for 4 nights. Hostel has airport transfer service for 25$ per car. The driver is polite and help me with carry luggage. As when I arrived it is late night, my first night I booked a private double room with bathroom attached. The bed is comfy and room is acceptable clean but no shower gel. Luckily that I brought. The remaining 3 nights I stayed in a private twin room with shared bathroom. The room is large and well clean. I like the big window where I can have time chilling the weather and view outside. The shared bathroom is big and it has shower gel. There is a living room and kitchen with many things well equipped such as microwave, cooler, kettle, utensils, teabags. Hostel’s location is very convenient, just behind the Peace & Friendship bus stop. A few minutes by walk to State Department Store and Sukhbaatar Square. Host is very honest and kind to me. He tried to help me with finding a taxi to Ulaanbaatar train station. Eventually there is no taxi available due to crazy traffic jam. Be careful when traveling in peak period as the traffic jam in Ulaanlaatar is unbelievable. I can say walking is faster.

The location is perfect — walking distance to major spots like the National Museum and Parliament, with tons of restaurants nearby and even a convenience store right by the entrance. What really made the difference was the amazing staff and the kind owner, who went above and beyond to help me. From thoughtful recommendations to arranging transportation, they truly made my stay easy and special. I was genuinely sad to leave. Thank you for such a warm welcome — I’ll never forget my time here, and I hope to return one day!

There are not many hostels in UB. This one is great. The staff is really nice und helpful. The rooms are alright. The price is really reasonable. All in all- a really nice hostel at a great location

Not reliable or professional. I booked a private room two months in advance when there was plenty of availability. Just two days before my arrival, they cancelled, claiming they had overbooked. I genuinely believe they found someone willing to pay more and gave away my room. The last-minute cancellation forced me to book another place at a premium price. Extremely unprofessional and unreliable. I wouldn’t trust them again.

Thank Davka and the guide Gotov. I had so much fun during the 10 day tour. "Mongolian Vision tours" is such a good agency which you would feel relieved on. Highly recommended!! Love from Taiwan.

The hotel provides a range of amenities including complimentary Wi-Fi, a terrace with city views, and a restaurant with 24-hour room service. Guests can also make use of the bar/lounge and benefit from services like concierge assistance and a 24-hour business center.
Prices are cheaper by 5 or 10 usd if you order in Mongolian in person or over the phone. Great hotel for the price. Hopefully people don't party on the second day of my stay.

🤩 This place is awesome for the price 🙌🏻. I stayed for 3 nights for business and room are big and clean. Bed super comfy with heating on. Cosy vibe and breakfast included which was amazing. 🤩

Overall, a pretty decent hotel when considering the price point. The rooms aren’t glamorous but the beds are comfortable. We stayed here on two occasions and it seems like the south-facing rooms come with air conditioning, though the north-facing rooms do not - at least that was our experience with the two rooms that we were given. The north-facing room (#203) was a bit too warm, even with the windows opened up at night. The staff are generally very friendly once you engage with them - there was one woman in particular, who I think works in the restaurant/lounge, who was exceptionally nice and helpful throughout our stay.

I read really good reviews about this hotel, thats the reason why I booked this hotel but I wanted come on here and write an honest review so people who are looking to truly travel and relax can book the appropriate place. I liked that the hotel room was cleanly and this place has actual parking in such a busy city. Things that I didn’t like were the staff working at the front are not so friendly, there’s people (locals) parting all night until 6am in the morning yelling in the hallways and the overall vibe of the hotel. Seems like it’s a primary spot for people who are looking to drink all night and party without interruptions. If you’re someone who wants relax at the hotel room wind down for the night maybe somewhere quieter might be better fitting.

I strongly recommend ZoloStar hotel. The rooms are so clean and comfortable, and attractive, and the staff were really helpful. I liked being so close to the shops and centre of town. The hotel called us a taxi when we needed it and spoke some English which was really useful. They provided breakfast in their restaurant each morning. We loved it and thought it was a very good deal compared to others we tried.

City Guesthouse & Tours is a simple hostel located in the heart of Ulaanbaatar, just a short walk from Sukhbaatar Square and the State Department Store. The accommodation offers unpretentious dorms and private rooms, along with a communal kitchen and breakfast for guests. With a 24-hour front desk and tour desk, it's convenient for travelers to organize customized trips smoothly. Guests have praised the prompt responses to emails and requests when arranging trips.
I would certainly recommend City Guesthouse and Tours. I had been in touch with them a few months before my arrival and was able to organize a 12-day customized trip in a smooth manner. They responded promptly to my emails and answered all my requests. The hostel itself is in the centre, with all the main sites within the walking distance. Breakfast is also a plus. I am extremely satisfied with their team and the driver, and I can certainly recommend them to anyone. Thank you very much, Shohei.

It was a nice experience to stay there. Entire hostel was clean and tidy. In addition, the staff were super friendly and helpful. They provided valuable information about the tour packages and sightseeing plans. Moreover, breakfast was included in the room tariff. It was good deal as the tariff was reasonable and that too with breakfast. Bed size in dorks was also enough. Furthermore, city center and Sukhbaatar Square was close by and it was easy to walk. Overall it was a god stay.

A guesthouse with lovely people giving you whatever service you need. Dormitory and double rooms. Shared toilets and shower, but always possible to do what you needed. Good sleeping comfort in double rooms. We stayed four nights. Small egg based breakfast with coffee and tea. Wifi was good. Breakfast room serves as a social center. We ordered all airport transfers (35€) and every transfer was as appointed. We also went on a tour four days in Terelj, Hustai and Kharakhorin (Karakorum) with good driver and Wednesday as an inspiring guide. Stayed with normadic people in their gers and one night in tourist ger camp. 95$ pp/per night all included. Everything was as expected and to our satisfaction. You pay 22$ pr night for a double and location is innthe absolute center of UB. Supermarket 30 m from entrance. Highly recomnended and thanks to manager Victor and his family and friends.

Stayed here in Oct 2025 for 3 nights Excellent location, value for money, lovely staff and good breakfast :) Definitely recommended. Liked · 1. Excellent location, very close to the city centre. Sukhbaatar Square is only a 10min walk. Shops, eateries, cafes, supermarkets etc are within 5-10min walking distance 2. Lovely staff who take care of the place. Friendly, helpful and humble 3. Good breakfast mostly toast, 2 eggs, sausage and coffee/tea. 4. Common area was nice and big to socialise (but winter meant there were hardly any travellers when I went) 5. Shared fully equipped kitchen to make your own food if needed 6. Good beds with privacy curtains, sockets, light, lockers, tower etc. Disliked · 1. Property is 4 flights of stairs to walk from the ground floor, no lift. Harder for those with bigger/heavier bags 2. Wifi is a bit of a disappointment. Though its UFB the speed takes a hit and lot of buffering time 3. Only one toilet/bath on the side that I stayed n there were 12 dorm beds. Can be a bit of wait in the morning rush 4. Winter meant that there were almost no tours to the country side that could be organised. Staff were not around for me to find out about the tours/costs etc. Everyone tucked away in their beds due to cold :)

I love this guesthouse! The atmosphere here is very welcoming and warm. From the moment I arrived I felt very well cared for. The staff are so friendly and helpful, and go above and beyond to help with any inquiries. The bed is comfortable, and the breakfast is delicious. The location is perfect for walking to museums, galleries, shops, cafes and restaurants. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable, friendly stay at an affordable price.

Had a great stay at the City Guesthouse. The rooms were modest but spacious, great value for money and the location was unbeatable. Plenty of restaurants and shops in walking distance. The staff were incredibly helpful and repeatedly went out of their way to assist me and my, unfortunately, constant questions and requests. Hats off to Ganaa for being a gem and helping me start my trip across the country. Also, the breakfast was nice!

This guesthouse and its tour was what made our Mongolian tour so memorable. We booked the accommodation, drive from/to the airport, and, most importantly, our long Mongolia tour by email. Everything was spot on, and way cheaper than what you would get from typical tour companies. The tour we booked was so memorable and great. We discussed our tour itinerary by email, and we could modify the tours and activities, and add another day of travel. The tour was great; our tour guide, Nasaa, was very kind and helpful, and she treated us like her own children. We did so many authentic Mongolian travel activities in the sand dune, waterfalls, historical sites, doing horseback riding, camel riding, or trekking. We slept in the gehrs and ate local food. One of our members had a stomachache, and Nasaa made sure she got the right food. The accomodation itself is good too! Excellent location; every tourist spot in Ulaanbaatar, including the department store, city square, cashmere mall, museum, etc. is in walkable distance. Breakfast is served every morning, wi-fi is good, and the staff are very helpful and nice. If you are young travelers looking for awesome romantic journeys, just email this place. You won't regret it.

I cannot understand this rating. The hotel is completely damaged and run down, see pictures. There is neither hot water nor air conditioning. In front of the hotel is a noisy construction site, at night there are a lot of drunk people there. The manager is friendly but the rest of the staff urgently needs some training.
M W — Google review
Tucked away from easy access to the city centre. Supposedly not an old building, but the door to the room we were offered didn't close or lock, electric lights didn't work. The young man spoke no English and would have left us there if the French chef hadn't chanced along and organised a change of room. Final room was not very clean but at least the door and lights worked. OK on a budget but for little more, far better on offer right in the centre of town.

Great place where to stay - close to main square (by walking 10 min / by car for sure more ), good pricing, nice and clean place. New building. Wi-Fi in good quality. Restaurant at hotel is great!!! - real "french" chef. Food is tasty, an the fresh french baguettes are amazing. Food is close to european stile of food - no lots of fat and bones in your dish.

Super clean, bright, airy modern interior and rooms. The staff and owner are extremely helpful with anything you need, and will help with setting up any venturing you have in mind with drivers, jeeps, and or guides. We hired an English speaking driver and jeep for four days and basically said we wanted to wing it. Ended up with an amazing trip to Kharkhorin, Elsen Tsarkhai, and Khustei while staying with nomad families at night that our driver knew depending on what area we ended up in that day. Highly recommend this place. Comfortable and affordable stay in a great location in UB.

I stayed at Zaya for 2 nights in November 2014 as part of my Trans-Siberian journey from China to the UK. It is a quiet and restful place with a nice common room and some good books to read!. Clean, extremely comfortable, and the proprietor is amazing. We felt right at home. Anand not only made us feel at ease, we actually felt safe knowing that he's around to help us. I ended up extending my stay. He helped me register my extended stay with immigration. He even arranged the driver. I've stayed at many hostels. I've never been treated better than I am treated here. Thank you Anand for everything!!!!

In short: Zaya hostel was great. The 2 person bedroom we had was nice and clean and there is an overall good vibe in the hostel. Kind staff as well. One of the owners, Anan, helped us with some trips which we liked very much. When we think back of our trip with Bacha, one of the drivers of the hostel, we just smile of joy. Bacha is not really a guide and Anan asked us if it was ok if Bacha drove us to a temple. This was no problem for us. At the temple Bacha turned out to be a charmfull guide after all, really doing his best to explain everything to us. This kindness made our day and represents the kindness of the Zaya staff as a whole. Thank you for all the help. This review was an easy one: 5 stars!

Horeka Hotel offers great value for the price, with attentive and helpful staff despite limited English proficiency. The quiet and comfortable rooms come with access to a kitchen. While some guests noted noise from the karaoke bar downstairs, others found it surprisingly peaceful. Although there were mentions of cigarette smells throughout the hotel and yellow shower water, many still appreciated the good service provided by the slightly dated establishment. Overall, Horeka Hotel is considered a worthwhile option for budget accommodation in UB.
Really great place considering the price. Staff don't speak English but are nevertheless extremely helpful and attentive. Ridiculously good value. Quiet, comfortable rooms and kitchen available. Others mentioned noise from the Karaoke downstairs but I couldn't hear a thing from my room. Paid almost 20x the amount per night at another hotel the previous night and this one is far superior.

The woman on reception was very polite, helpful and friendly and spoke good English. But the room was a bit dirty and had a bad smell. Also the shower kept over filling just after a few minutes. But in general our stay was pleasant.

Stayed 1 Saturday Night in midjune. Room closest to front desk. Pros: big beds, hot water. Cons: traffic outside dies down for only 2-3 hours after midnight. Front desk talked nonstop from 10pm to 4am. Also, our room door could be locked, but difficult to unlocked and open as part of the lock still protrude out preventing it to open. We ended up leaving the door unlocked and blocking it with furniture while sleeping. Ask for room away from front desk.

Massage⭐️⭐️⭐️ Service⭐️⭐️ Atmosphere ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Female Thai massager gave me massage. It was ok. I would say Mongolian massagers are better. She was kind of arrogant, she wasn't speaking good English i hope. She said, Hi! Turn back! Leg down! There was some word missing!!! When you talk to customer everyone should say the word "Please"!!! It's basic rule!!! Otherwise, this place was clean and comfortable.

Disappointing experience. We had booked a 2 people 60 min massage and we arrived 5 minutes before our appointment. They made us wait as the masseurs were occupied with the previous customers and started the massage 15 mins past our appointment. The massage itself was okay, didn’t feel like an actual Thai massage you’d get in Thailand. At the end, I realized that the massage lasted 45 minutes, (I guessed they ended it early as their next customers were waiting, and I was right!) so after getting out of the massage room, I told the receptionist about it and their answer back was “No, it was 50 minutes!” 😂 We were already dressed to leave and weren’t expecting to get our 15 mins compensated but a simple apology and acknowledgement would have gone a long way. We paid full price, but aren’t coming here again!
Anja D — Google review
Shockingly bad, honestly I think they need to reconsider how they provide service to people. Starting from the beginning everything is so vague. Masseuse is from Thailand but doesn’t speak or understand simple English and hurt me so bad in general. Had Thai massage so many times in my life and this one is the worst experience I ever had. The place was cold and curtains were always open during my session which didn’t help the coldness at all lol. Bed sheets and clothes were sticky and smelly. Pls save urself some penny and go somewhere else.

A great place to stay: • The rooms feature private beds w/ little curtain making a cozy felling like being in the childhood pillow-castle. Comfy interior with stylish, clean bathrooms and a kitchen that really bright and flooded with light. • Exceptional service- it is truly invaluable: Wonderful staff. Assisting with smooth airport transportation 100% stress-free arrival and departure. Also serve a delicious english-style breakfast. • Location is ideal - despite the hostel is located in the city center you won’t hear any loud cars at night like at the southeast business district, there are plenty of museums, grocery stores and cafes within walking distance Highly recommended for visiting UB

I totally like the location. It’s about 5minute walk to Sükhbaatar square. Rooms were okay but lacks some privacy. Toilet only has 1 for women and 1 for males. One can peak from the bottom of the door if someone wants to. Toilet has motion sensors so if you are focusing on dumping your poop, light will likely be turned off after a little while. A bit of a hassle. Food is decent. They also have lots of maps and booklet as a guide for free. Staff was kind though. Bed has almost no privacy because the upper bunk can lift the bed and can see you from there.

No matter what reasons you had, you shouldn’t have cancelled my successful reservation suddenly and brought me so many inconveniences. I had to find new place to reserve in limited time.

(Translated by Google) The scenery of nomads on horseback chasing sheep in the grassland has not changed since then. However, what has changed is that Ulaanbaatar city has a population of 1.5 million people, and the whole country has a population of about 3 million people. Cashmere, a specialty product, is of very high quality and is a wonderful country❗It is still in the process of development, but let's all support it❗ (Original)
