Great shrine that has one of the oldest shrine history in Japan. Three female deities are enshrined separately and two of them are in isolated islands but you can visit them virtually all in one location as they have two little shrine branches here in the back of the main building. Spiritual feeling there as walking there. It's free. Only the optional treasure museum requires the fee.

we should use a taxy from JR TOGO st. because there's only one bus in 1hr. and I don't know why, busses leave TOGO station before trains reach. However, there are so many beautiful small shline and atmosphere is so clean! sometimes, pack tourist from south KOREA and CHINA are noisy. but after some ten minuits, they will go away with big busses. and when you have a good luck, you can find nice taxy driver and he/she takes you a miyadhidake shrine through special place! and it costs only 2,800 JPY inc tax and chips. OOHPS, Munakata Taisha is world wide famous place! I recommend you when you go to Munakata Taisha, to go to Miyadgidake Jinja,too.

this place is amazing. i could feel the traditional vibes. and also they had 100 years tree that is full of mystic. if u go deep inside theres a forest and people put a wish tag in the boards

One of the first pagodas I have visited in Japan. Fortunately, it was an amazing experience. Despite the language barrier, I could feel the traditional in every little thing around here. The outdoor Kabuki performance by world renowned Ebizo Ichikawa was the highlight that started at dusk. Worth the ride to see this beautiful place! Easy commute only 30+ mins to get to Fukuma from Hakata, and a quick mini bus (no.2 the blue line) ride. I walked back to the train station along the main road it only took 30-35 mins.

It is a spectacular shrine, and it is well decorated during this special summer event time. There are many nice shrines also around the main shrine for exploration, we can take photos freely and there is no entrance free. This is definitely a top shrine to be visited!

I was able to visit the shrine during its festival and received a commemorative goshuin. I also got to see the procession, and there were several snack booths as well. The shrine has many stairs, but it’s definitely worth the climb and offer intentions. We took the JR train from Hakata to Fukuma Station, then a bus that stops directly at Miyajidake Shrine. Visited in late September 2025.

This Shrine is awesome, there's so much to see and pray at The area is very large and spacious. There wasn't a crowd, no waiting and no dress code. Admission is Free. Parking is down the street with a 2 minute walk. Worth visiting if you're looking for good luck, love, family, healthy kids...etc. Highly recommended. You won't be disappointed.

Very nice shrine. Highly recommend. If you do come during mid October there are a lot of people to see the sunset which aligns with the street. So depending on your arrival it will be a long wait.

I visited here during my bike tour around Kyushu. This place has to be one of the best Michi no Eki I've been to. It's basically a big super market with a restaurant. The super market had a ton of fresh produce and was really crowded when I visited. The food was also good.

Good place for a quick stop to buy some local souvenirs like vegetables, seafood, seaweed, fruits, crackers and some sweets.

There are market which sell food and baverage, plant, and drink. For moeslem, i give recommendation for choose halal food like "fish, vegetable, and seafood". But we must understand how to cook first. If you doubt, dont choose fried foods. There are wide parking area for bus and car. And also toilet. Having checked the reviews for dining this side of town, I walked 13 minutes from Konominato Iriguchi bus-stop to Suehiro. And I wasn’t disappointed. A quaint establishment with a flow of local clientele, the food was oishii! I enjoyed the sushi tempura teishoku. Such a pleasant little airport—compact, efficient, and actually quite pretty compared to many other international airports in Asia. Immigration was smooth and quick, plenty of seating areas, and a few lounges to relax in. Pro tip: take the metro to the last stop, Fukuoka Airport, then follow the exit for the free shuttle to the international terminal. It’s super quick, a short walk, and way easier than expected!

Be aware that the international and domestic terminals are in separate locations — you’ll need to take a shuttle bus for about 5–10 minutes. The airport itself is efficient, clean, and easy to navigate. Plenty of shops inside, with just the right balance — not overwhelming, but enough variety to find what you need. I feel like this is the most underrated airport. There are a few direct flights from Haneda Airport which I appreciated. This airport is very clean and have small but good souvenirs stores. and more importantly, I cannot say enough about how amazing the JAL staff are! Due to my health condition, I have to request wheelchair support and they have been the most thoughtful and kind staff I have ever come across with. They have coordinated with the bus company to make sure I can get on the bus seamlessly. I even received a thoughtful card from a staff. I’m truly grateful for the extra mile they take to make you feel special.

Small but a very nice airport. Many bus routes to and from the airport, not so distant from city areas. If your destination in Kyushu are located in east side of the island, this is a good place to land.

This airport is by far great in my opinion. Even though it might not be the biggest, there is a observation deck for you to see. Not too far from Kitakyushu, easy access. I would give this airport a 5 star. There are direct flights to places in Japan such as Haneda, so do not worry.

I took the airport limousine bus (1200¥) within minutes of my plane's arrival from Tokyo. I bought the ticket from the vending machine and joined the Q at platform no. 5.
