Shonan Bellmare Hiratsuka Beach Park is a 4km long beach with a central park offering beach sports like volleyball and soccer. The park has shops, changing rooms, and equipment rental for various activities. Visitors can enjoy the boardwalk, cafe, free amenities like lockers and showers, as well as surfing spots. Beautiful beach with boardwalk. This facility has toilets and water outside to rinse off the sand. Enjoyed the cafe after a running race here.
Rick C — Google review
This Shonan beach, the water and sand are not so good, but the atmosphere is relaxing, you can smell the sea. There is also free parking nearby.
Kazu 0 — Google review
A very nice place with boardwalk in case you don't want to get dirty from sand. There is a cafe. Also the place offers free of charge coin lockers, change rooms and toilets. At the side of the building there are vending machines along with free cold water showers to rinse your feet as well as whole surfboards, from sand. Inside the change rooms there are hot showers available for 100 yen/3 minutes. The beach offers perfect surfing spots mainly on the left, when facing the south. You can borrow a volleyball or basketball for free.
Michal K — Google review
HUGE beach. clean, but sand is really hot during sunny days
Jonathan C — Google review
It has basketball and volleyball courts, (no soccer)and a walking / cycling trail along the shore that is not kept up well compared to Fujisawa’s. The snack bar is really American style and highly recommended. They even sell beer.

(Translated by Google) About 10 minutes walk from the parking lot. I'm coming across the pedestrian bridge. There is only one nearby convenience store, Family Mart. It will take about 15 minutes on foot. However, the shops on the beach cannot be underestimated. The prices are reasonable, and the food they serve is delicious. There were many people on the beach and it was lively. Beach volleyball, soccer, basketball, etc. Of course, there were many people enjoying marine sports.

Modern art museum
Hiratsuka Museum of Art is located in the cultural hub of Hiratsuka City, Kanagawa. The Shonan area has been home to many influential artists since the Meiji Era. For instance, Kamakura was where the influential magazine Shirakaba was developed, and Kugenuma was where Ryusei Kishida pursued a new style of oil painting.
The place is great and if you're passionate about art this place is for you.

(Translated by Google) Along with public facilities such as the city hall, there was an art museum with a shared parking lot. If you use the parking ticket machine inside the facility, you can get up to 90 minutes free of charge. I was surprised at how magnificent the building was. When I looked it up on the website, I found a discount ticket, so I was able to enter the temporary exhibition and permanent exhibition at a slightly cheaper price. After all, The Cabin Campany's exhibits and enthusiasm are amazing. Picture books, paintings, three-dimensional works, installations, each of the seven rooms had its own charm, and I was overwhelmed by the fun and impressive features. I take my hat off to the detail that has been displayed so well. Thank you very much for delivering this from a closed school in Oita. It was my first time visiting, but I was excited to see what they had to offer. I believe that the words spoken to them by their professors when they graduated from university have come to fruition and have truly reached the hearts of the viewers. I wish you all the best in your future endeavors. My inner childish mind was stimulated and I was excited🩷 We also saw a variety of art in the permanent exhibition. I'm glad I asked. I woke up to see NHK's "Sunday Art Museum" broadcasting Ryosuke Hara's solo exhibition at the Hiratsuka Museum of Art. I felt a strong connection, so I decided to visit that same day. I believe Ryosuke Hara graduated from Tama Art University. (I also applied there.) It's fascinating to see deep expressions of people's hearts like this. By the way, while the Ryosuke Hara exhibition has already ended, I highly recommend you drop by the Hiratsuka Museum of Art. The attached restaurant is a bit pricey, but they are kind to families with children, and we were able to spend a relaxing time there. The exhibition was a good size and was perfect for elementary school students who don't usually go to museums. All of the works have a lot of energy, but in contrast, the introductions of the works were very poetic and really caught my attention. It's hard to believe that a scene from Osamu Dazai's "Otogi Zoshi" is hidden inside their youthful works. I now like my favorite picture book even more. (Translated by Google) This is a municipal art museum located among factories and other municipal facilities. It's quite large for an art museum, and there's plenty of space inside, so you can comfortably view the three-dimensional sculptures and cast works. However, given its size, it didn't really attract many people, and when I went there, there were only a few customers, giving me the typical impression of a place that hasn't fully utilized its facilities. Admission fees vary depending on the project and exhibition, but since it's a city-run museum, you can visit it at a low price, so it might be a good idea to visit it while driving around and think, ``Wow, this place exists!'' rather than making it your goal. The spacious exhibition space with high ceilings is something you won't find at other municipal art museums. There is a large parking lot in front of the building, which is shared with other facilities, but if you use the museum, you get 90 minutes free of charge. Komayama Park (Shonandaira)

Mentioned on

Park
Nestled atop the Shonandaira plateau, Komayama Park is a delightful hilltop retreat that stands 180 meters above sea level. This beloved destination in Hiratsuka City boasts breathtaking 360-degree views of iconic landmarks such as Mount Fuji and Sagami Bay. Visitors can explore two expansive observation decks—one located on the TV tower and another at the Koraizan Park Rest House—making it an ideal spot for panoramic photography or simply soaking in nature's beauty.
Very nice view mountain and pacific ocean at a time, and parking is free. Have watch tower, city view, ice cream shop and watch tower. There is a small play ground for the children.

What a fantastic place. There are two ways you can walk to the top of the Hill, both giving you a different perspective of the surrounding area. My partner and I very much enjoyed the surrounding nature also, we found many bug's and Creatures... Including a lizard 🦎 The cafe in the tower is great also although it can be a little busy depending on the day that you go. You can sit and have a bite to eat as well as a view. 🍨

Great viewing platform with free Telescopes. Nice views of the coast, Its possible to see the Tokyo landmarks (Sky tree and buildings) in the distance. The hike from the station is a little hard to find but does not disappoint once you find it. There is a Hawaiian Cafe at the top of the Mountain and the plate lunches are exactly the same as you would get in Hawaii!

Came here as part of a hike. The trail starts from Oiso Station and takes around 2 hours. Beautiful park with a relaxed atmosphere. You’ll find a restaurant and a shop selling snacks, too.

I was brought here by my exchange family twice in July of 2017. The first time I wet here it was cold and rainy so I requested to be brought back on a nicer day and the view was spectacular! You could see for miles and a little gift shop was open on our second visit. Not only are we allowed to climb the observation deck we are also allowed to climb the radio tower as another observation deck which we did on the cloudy day. There is also a little play area for children to enjoy. Definitely one of my absolutely favourite places in Japan and I do plan on returning to this spot in the future.

Nice broad expanse of beach - I went in mid-October and while water temps can vary (it was about 24C), we were able to swim in just a swimsuit. It was post-typhoon (2 weeks ago), so a lot of debri and clean-up going on. Currents and tide can be pretty rough even in front of the tetrapods meant to break the waves. Unless there are lifeguards on duty or you have strong swimmers around, this may not be the best place for children or weak swimmers.

Day: Oct 20, Thursday 10am Experience: ★★★★★ Like other reviews said, you need to pay for a ticket depending on your age. It was worth it! I had such an enjoyable time here! Because it's October, they have Halloween decor and photo ops all around where you can take cute pictures for fun. There is a huge variety of flowers, plants, ponds, and gardens here. My mom and I enjoyed walking around, taking pictures, and basking in the beauty of the nature and scenery. There's also a wide open grassy field where you can relax on. There's also a panoramic deck that oversees the whole garden (and Mt. Fuji)! I want to come here again! Restrooms: ★★★★★ Clean and big! Parking: ★★★★★ Many spaces available! Huge parking lot.

Lovely garden especially during roses' season wherein you can admire a large variety of flowers beautifully arranged in different configurations throughout the park. Been there thrice in May. Komayama Park (Shonandaira)

Park
Nature & Parks
Komayama Park, also known as Shonandaira, is a delightful hilltop destination that offers an array of attractions for visitors. With its playground and a radio tower featuring an observation deck, this park provides stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. On my first visit in July 2017, the weather was less than ideal—cold and rainy—but I returned on a sunnier day to experience the breathtaking vistas that stretch for miles. The little souvenir shop adds charm to your visit.

Hachimanyama Park is a delightful green space nestled next to the Hiratsuka Hachimangu Shrine, offering a perfect escape for relaxation. With its expansive lawns dotted with benches, it's an ideal spot to unwind or enjoy a picnic. Families will appreciate the playground featuring slides and swings for children. The Cenotaph of Peace, Hiratsuka Hachiman Shrine, and the former Yokohama Rubber Hiratsuka Factory Memorial Museum (Western-style building on Mt. Hachiman) are located on the same site. Since it was the end of the flower season, there weren't many people, so we had a relaxing afternoon. Not too big, just the right size. The well-kept flower beds with tulips and other flowers were beautiful, but it looks like hydrangeas will also be blooming in the upcoming season. Kanagawa Prefectural Shonan Coast Park is a stunning destination that offers a delightful blend of natural beauty and recreational activities. Stretching from Kamakura to Chigasaki, this long beach park is renowned for its vibrant surfing scene, making it a hotspot for both seasoned surfers and beginners alike. The picturesque backdrop of Enoshima Island enhances the experience, especially during sunset when the sky transforms into a canvas of colors with Mt. Fuji standing majestically in the distance.

(Translated by Google) I was attracted by the sour soup and went all the way there on the weekend. I waited in line for about 30 minutes with five other groups, bought a ticket from the rumored ticket machine that only has two types, and sat down. I waited for 10 minutes while watching the process of making the ramen. I was told to add chili oil before eating, but I started with the soup without chili oil. It has a mild sourness, a flavor I really like. As expected, the carefully selected seaweed is also delicious. I added chili oil halfway through. The person next to me put in so much that the soup turned bright red and he was choking, so I kept it moderate. The sourness was combined with a spicy flavor, making it even more delicious. I think people's tastes will differ when it comes to hiyamugi-like noodles, but I think they go well with that soup. I think they're one of a kind. A bowl of somen-like noodles in a clear broth with a vinegared flavor completely different from regular tanmen, topped with chopped onions. As far as I know, outside of Hiratsuka, it's only available at a branch in Atsugi City. So it's a delicacy that's hard to find anywhere else in Tokyo, let alone Yokohama, which is in the same Kanagawa Prefecture. I only come to Hiratsuka once every few years, but when I do, I always go to the branch a little further from the station. This time, I didn't have time to go that far, so I went to the original restaurant near Hiratsuka Station for the first time in nine years. (I actually visited in late January 2024.) There wasn't a line, but the restaurant was nearly full. I ordered tanmen and gyoza. At the branch, wakame seaweed and bamboo shoots aren't included by default, so you have to add them as toppings, but here they're included from the start. Add a splash of homemade chili oil and slurp away. The gyoza are delicious too! I even bought some souvenirs to make at home, and was very satisfied. (Translated by Google) Since it's a popular restaurant, it doesn't boast the triple threat of "delicious, cheap, and fast," but it's definitely tasty and affordable. Hiratsuka's tanmen has a minimalist composition similar to kakesoba (soba noodles)—clear soup, thin, straight noodles, and chopped green onions—and isn't piled high with stir-fried vegetables. The toppings are at least substantial, but the noodles are filling, and the price is a surprising 450 yen (as of August 2025). The menu consists of tanmen, toppings, a limited selection of side dishes, and drinks, but this tanmen is enough to satisfy. The restaurant takes orders for customers about 30 minutes before closing time for lunch and dinner, at which point the noren curtain is lowered. If you arrive just in time, you're in if the noren curtain is still up; otherwise, you're out.

The clear soup, pure white noodles, and chopped onions—its pure simplicity is captivating. I arrived a little late for opening time at 10:45, and the counter was full, with a line of about six people already. Peeking inside, I found 18 counter seats and the lively energy you'd expect from a long-established restaurant.♪ After a 30-minute wait, I finally stepped through the noren curtain to find the chef skillfully preparing ramen and fried wontons in the kitchen, while the staff worked brilliantly together. The atmosphere of this thriving restaurant gets my heart racing! This restaurant's signature dish is "Tanmen." A perfectly refined dish with clear soup, white straight noodles, and only chopped onions. And it's surprisingly priced at just ¥450. I ordered it with seaweed, which doesn't overpower the broth. ◯Wakame Tanmen ¥500 ◯Fried Wontons ¥500 As I scooped the soup with a ladle, a subtle tanginess tickled my nose, and one bite filled my body with it. The noodles were white, like somen noodles, and went down easily, with the sweetness and texture of the chopped onions spreading softly. The amount of seaweed might seem small, but as I stirred the bowl, a mound of it appeared from the bottom, infusing the soup with the aroma of the sea. As I continued to eat, the waiter advised me, "Adding our homemade chili oil will give you a whole new flavor." When I tried it, the soup was rich and flavorful, and I couldn't stop eating! ❗️ It was a flavor that kept me coming back for more, and I couldn't get enough of it until the last bite. Every drop of the soup revealed why the people of Hiratsuka have loved it for so many years. "This must be Hiratsuka's soul food..." But even in the Reiwa era, they're still doing a great job offering it for 450 yen. The portions are generous, too. No need for over-the-top toppings. It would be nice if they had chili oil to change the flavor halfway through. The gyoza are vinegar and soy sauce. I like this simplicity. All in all, 1000 yen. Hmm? Unagi restaurant
(Translated by Google) Aside from Unagi no Naruse, there's no other eel restaurant in Kanagawa that's this cheap, delicious, and great value for money. I've been going there for over 10 years now, and it's a favorite with my family. The famous Yokohama Wakana unaju (eel and rice bowl) for 6,000 yen and Oiso Kuniyoshi for 15,000 yen are certainly delicious, but this is perfectly fine for a family lunch. It's a long-established restaurant that was probably founded over 50 years ago, and I think it's now run by the second generation. However, it's now quite popular, so reservations are required. Please note that you must make a reservation one week to ten days in advance to get in. All I can say is that it's cheap and delicious.

The special Unaju was disappointing. It tasted burnt while eating. The sauce on the rice also had a strong burnt flavor. As you can see from the photo, I think they cooked it for a long time. I heard it's because they're the second generation owner. I'm sorry to make a comparison, but Unagi no Tomoei in Odawara City, Kanagawa Prefecture, and Kawatoyo Honten on the approach to Naritasan Shinshoji Temple near the entrance are far more delicious. As other reviews have said, the fact that this restaurant is cheaper than other eel restaurants may mean that the quality is inferior to more expensive restaurants, which is why they set the price so low. If they raised the price by ¥1,000 or ¥2,000, they probably wouldn't be as busy as before. If it's truly delicious, people will come even if it's expensive, like Unagi Tomoei. (Translated by Google) I made a reservation about three days in advance and visited for lunch on a weekday. When I made the reservation, I ordered a large portion of the special unaju (grilled eel on rice). I waited while sipping a highball and it arrived in about 10 minutes. The firm rice went well with the sauce and was delicious. The eels were arranged without any gaps, had a fluffy texture, and not a single small bone was noticeable. The sauce was a little salty for me as I like sweeter dishes, but that's just my preference so it wasn't a problem. The pickles were really delicious. The bill was about 4,500 yen, and while the unaju was a good deal, the Kaku Highball was 750 yen, so overall it felt a little pricey. If I have the opportunity, I'd like to order something else. Thank you for the meal. Even the special eel version is 3050 yen including tax. The large serving is 100 yen more expensive, and the eel is so fluffy that you can't hold it with chopsticks. It's not an exaggeration to say that you can eat it even without teeth because it's fluffy and doesn't have any bones in it. The slightly sweet sauce kept it delicious till the end. Also I want to go. I went there again on a different day and had the Unaju Tokujo and Shirayaki, but the wasabi and soy sauce was refreshing and delicious. Great for snacks.

$$$$affordable
Japanese restaurant
Izakaya restaurant
Nestled along the coast, 磯っぺ is a delightful seafood restaurant that offers a fantastic dining experience with stunning ocean views. Located on the second floor, it’s important to note that there’s no elevator access, so visitors should be mindful of this if they have mobility concerns. The parking lot accommodates a good number of vehicles, but do remember to make a U-turn at the traffic light if you're coming from Yokohama.
We chose this restaurant randomly before we went to the beach. It is very nice inside and cool on a hot day. We don't speak too much Japanese so we just pointed at pictures of what to order. We got two beautifully presented dishes. This was our first time eating soba and apparently we were eating it wrong. A waiter nicely showed us how to do it at the end of the meal. We will try it again and it properly. I recommend this place if you like sashimi.
Jaykel T — Google review
The restaurant is in 2nd floor, so you can see the sea from here. There is parking space but not too big, so you might need to wait a little. The food comes a bit slow as other reviews. Taste is ok.

(Translated by Google) I ordered the Isoppe Donburi and the Raw Whitebait Donburi. You can choose your vinegared rice for 50 yen. The chawanmushi was delicious and the view from the window was great. I'd like to stop by this restaurant again when I come to Oiso.

(Translated by Google) Located near the sea, I thought it might be a tourist spot serving shirasu donburi and other dishes, but the menu was extensive and delicious! There were many people who seemed to be locals there. It was past noon, so I was able to get in without having to wait. The seats are spacious and there seems to be a tatami room in the back. It's a comfortable place to relax. The parking lot is larger than I expected, and there are many seats available. I ordered the Soba Gozen. I was very happy to find that I could choose between vinegared rice or regular rice, and raw or boiled shirasu. Both the shirasu tempura and the soba were delicious and I was very satisfied. There is also a wide selection of a la carte dishes, and it seems like a good place to have some alcohol. I'd like to go again.

Kappa Sushi

$$$$cheap
Conveyor belt sushi restaurant
Kappa Sushi is a delightful spot for sushi lovers, especially if you're looking for great value. The menu features an array of delicious options, and one standout dish that you simply must try is the "battleship salad." Diners rave about the quality of the fish, which is both fresh and affordable. With its easy-going atmosphere and tasty offerings, Kappa Sushi promises a satisfying dining experience without breaking the bank!
Nice !
Dongdong H — Google review
It's nice but Sashimi is smaller compare to other sushi restaurants. Why pudding is available only take out. before we could eat it in.
Tosham M — Google review
I’m not a big fan of sushi, but I eat it once in a while. Kappa has ample parking, which is usually filled to capacity. If you place your order on their tablet, your chow comes along by bullet train. It’s better than waiting for something you like to come ‘round on the freight trains, which have been coughed on by unruly kids in neighboring booths.
Eigo E — Google review
Not bad at all for cheap sushi. They've completely remodeled and it has a much classier atmosphere than before.
Charlie ( — Google review
I love the sushi for the price, and please try the "battleship salad".

Haneda Airport

International airport
Sights & Landmarks
Haneda Airport is a waterfront airport that serves the Greater Tokyo Area and offers direct rail access to the city, as well as free WiFi. Travelers can take the Keikyu Limousine Bus to Yokohama Station and transfer to the Yokosuka Line or Shonan Shinjuku Line to reach Kamakura Station, which takes about an hour.
I'm very impressed with Haneda T3 and it's very functional and easy. The place is massive but easy to find information. Access to departures is really easy. Inside, the departure area is massively long with a lot of shops. Mostly branded one, but there's also a nice food court with very reasonable prices, offering a lot of Japanese choices. This is my fifth time here, and I am finally doing my Google Review.
David J — Google review
Flight was excellent, airport is massive but the process of getting off, going through customs and grabbing our luggage was phenomenal! So well organized. Be prepared to go through miles of transit to get places with very fast, paced people moving in a quick manner. Loved flying over the city before landing. Just amazing.
Thuha N — Google review
Haneda Airport is truly one of the best airports in the world. From the moment you arrive, everything feels seamless—clean, efficient, and well-organized. The signage is clear, making it easy to navigate even for first-time visitors, and security and immigration move quickly compared to many major airports. The terminals are modern, bright, and filled with a wide range of dining and shopping options, from authentic Japanese restaurants to luxury boutiques. The staff are courteous and attentive, always ready to help with a smile. Amenities like spotless restrooms, clean showers, and comfortable seating areas make layovers far more enjoyable. Transportation to and from the city is also incredibly convenient. Haneda combines Japanese hospitality with world-class efficiency, making travel smooth and stress-free.
Praneet R — Google review
Haneda Airport is busy at all times — even at 7:00 AM, it’s filled with students and tourists. The place is lively, energetic, and huge, with plenty of restaurants to choose from. You definitely won’t go hungry here! ✈️🍱☕️
Dream L — Google review
Haneda Airport is one of the cleanest airports I’ve seen right next to Changi in Singapore. Very organized and well-maintained, you can do lots of things there with plan spotting at the observation deck. The Terminal 3 is very easy to navigate. Can’t wait to see Japan again in the future!
Josh F — Google review
Upstairs, there’s a Don Quijote. You don’t need to worry about buying souvenirs elsewhere because this airport has everything! I even forgot to bring my child’s milk bottle, and luckily I found one there. The price was the same as outside The halal food is delicious and the portions are big!
M — Google review
Very efficient, don't have to walk as much to get to your departure gate, there are outlets for almost every seat at each gate if you want to charge your phone or PC, there is a hot water fountain if you have your own tea bags. On top of that, the airport is like a combination of Little Tokyo and a museum.
Emi A — Google review
Huge Airport and do much stores, restaurants, shopping, sky, ...so love the place. If your stuck or in a budget there are relaxing places to nap at. I could not get tired of this place.
