Yarada Beach is a serene and picturesque destination in Visakhapatnam, also known as Vizag. Surrounded by scenic cliffs and offering stunning ocean views, this beach provides a peaceful atmosphere for travelers seeking an escape from city life. The untouched sandy shores and clear waters make it an ideal spot for nature and seascape photography. With hills on three sides, the beach boasts isolated surroundings that are perfect for capturing breathtaking shots.
Yarada is one of the most beautiful beaches in Visakhapatnam. It’s less crowded, making it a perfect spot to spend peaceful time with family. However, there are hardly any decent stores or food stalls (just 2–3 small shops), so it’s better to carry your own food and water. If you enjoy serene surroundings with stunning views, this beach is a must-visit. It’s about 40 km from RK Beach. (I visited on a cloudy day, so my photos don’t do justice—the beach is far more beautiful in reality)
Masud M — Google review
This beach is a hidden gem — little far from the city but peaceful and less crowded, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The sunset views are absolutely stunning, and the water is remarkably clear. While there aren’t any major restaurants nearby, you'll find plenty of street food options to satisfy your cravings. Another plus is the ample parking space, which makes visiting hassle-free.
Sangita R — Google review
This is the best beach on mainland India's east coast. It's an amazing place; words cannot describe the beach's beauty. It is a must-visit destination. Swimming is absolutely not recommended due to large waves and strong sea currents.
Jit C — Google review
The surrounding hills are covered with lush greenery, adding to the scenic beauty of the beach.Yarada Beach is less crowded compared to other commercial beaches, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and quality time with family and friends. The beach's untouched beauty and serene atmosphere make it an attractive destination for those seeking a peaceful getaway.
Anil P — Google review
It's a offbeat beach, always stick to the Google map. There is a liquor bar. You can find coconut sellers there and some small dhaba like stall..the road is vary Good. There will be no hustle to reach the beach. If you need extra petrol you can buy this from the village, there is a small shop with cold drinks and other stuff.
Sanjib H — Google review
The sandy shore meets the foamy waves of a vast ocean, with a lush, green hill forming a dramatic backdrop. The overcast sky adds a moody, tranquil atmosphere to this beautiful coastal landscape.
Adri S — Google review
This beach is so beautiful and gives Goa like vibes or even better. I went here after Dolphin nose light House and the journey itself is quite amazing. The little village on the hill and the view from that place was astonishing. The beach is clean and gives really good vibes. No parking charges at all. And yes I must recommend going in evening as the sunset looks charming from there. Overall a fantastic experience. Definitely a go to place if you visit Vizag. 🌊⛱️

Rushikonda Beach, located near Vizag, is a picturesque and popular destination known for its curved shoreline, clear waters, and surrounding hills. It's often referred to as the 'Jewel of the East Coast' due to its pristine beauty. The beach offers various water sports such as diving, jet skiing, windsurfing, and swimming. Visitors can also enjoy the tranquil atmosphere away from city life while taking in the stunning views of rocky shores and distant hills.
In the month of March, I had the opportunity to visit Rushikonda Beach in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, with my close friend Ayush. It turned out to be one of the most enjoyable and refreshing experiences of our trip. Known for its natural beauty and clean shoreline, Rushikonda Beach is truly a gem on the east coast. The beach was lively yet peaceful, with golden sands and clear blue waters creating a stunning view. The gentle waves and cool breeze made it a perfect spot to relax and unwind. We spent a good amount of time walking along the shore, chatting, and soaking in the serene atmosphere. What made the experience even better was the scenic drive to the beach. Surrounded by lush greenery and coastal roads, the journey itself was quite beautiful. The beach is also a great place for water sports like jet skiing and surfing, which adds excitement for adventure lovers, though we mainly went there to enjoy the peaceful vibe. Food stalls near the beach served tasty local snacks, allowing us to enjoy a light meal while enjoying the sea view. The beach was clean and well-maintained, which made our visit even more pleasant. Overall, Rushikonda Beach is a must-visit destination in Vizag for anyone who loves nature, sea views, and a relaxed vibe. It was a memorable experience that I’d highly recommend to others. I would love to visit again someday.

Anant P — Google review
A much better beach than RK Beach, though a bit farther from the city. It has golden sand, is quite clean, and offers a relaxed vibe. Lots of street food options nearby, and you can even spot speed boats around.
Somnath G — Google review
Good one.. Neat & clean beach.. Water waves are calm and cool. Very good for family outing..
Ajay N — Google review
If you're looking for a less crowded beach experience where you can truly relax. Cleaned beach. parking space is limited. Water sports (jet-ski, boating, swimming) widely available; but only speed boating was available when we visited. Speed boating price: ₹250/ + ₹100 for extra 1km (it's not on ticket, its that boatman say when we ride, we denied it, it's upto person)
Alam S — Google review
Beautiful and fantastic view. Beach is clean, water is clear. Not the crowded. I had great time there.

Bheemili Beach is a renowned destination in Visakhapatnam, situated at the meeting point of the Bay of Bengal and Gosthani River. Unlike other beaches in the area, it offers calm waters and a peaceful atmosphere, making it an ideal escape from city life. Visitors can explore historical remnants dating back to the 17th century, providing insights into the Dutch era. The beach's picturesque setting with clear blue waters and golden sands makes it perfect for nature lovers and adventure seekers.
Unlike bustling city beaches, Bheemili offers a quiet and tranquil atmosphere, ideal for relaxation. The beach boasts golden sands and calm waters, making it perfect for enjoying the sea. There may be limited options for restaurants and hotels in the immediate area, so it's advisable to carry food and water.
Arup B — Google review
Bhimili Beach is a peaceful and less crowded spot compared to RK or Rushikonda beaches in Vizag. The drive from Vizag along the coastal road is very scenic (as in vedios).
Alam S — Google review
There's nothing special about this place. The place is kinda unhygienic and not very attractive to the tourists because of its locality. The coastal road from rushikonda to bheemli is very pretty though. You can enjoy a very scenic ride and stip midway to enjoy prettier beaches
Sanskriti S — Google review
Why Bheemli Beach is a Must-Visit: 1. Scenic Drive: The 25-30 km ride from Vishakhapatnam Beach Road to Bheemli is breathtaking, with lush greenery, towering trees, and majestic mountains on one side and the sea on the other. 2. Thrilling Ride: Riding a scooty adds to the thrill of the journey, making it an exhilarating experience. 3. Serene Beach: Bheemli Beach is a peaceful escape, with smaller stones and fewer crowds, making it perfect for relaxation. 4. Natural Beauty: The beach is surrounded by natural beauty, with the sea on one side and mountains on the other, creating a unique and picturesque landscape. 5. Peaceful Atmosphere: The beach is ideal for those seeking a tranquil getaway, away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Overall, Bheemli Beach is a hidden gem near Vishakhapatnam, offering a unique blend of natural beauty, adventure, and relaxation.

Bheemili Beach – A Hidden Gem of Peace and Beauty 🌊✨ Bheemili Beach, also known as Bheemunipatnam Beach, is truly one of the most beautiful coastal spots near Vizag. The moment you step onto the soft golden sands, you’ll feel a sense of calm and freshness in the air. The beach is clean, quiet, and well-maintained — perfect for those who want to escape the city rush and just relax by the sea. The sunrise here is absolutely magical — the way the first light touches the waves is a sight you’ll never forget. It’s also a great place for photography lovers, morning walks, and family picnics. You’ll find a few food stalls around offering coconut water, tea, and local snacks. The historical Dutch Cemetery and lighthouse nearby add a special charm to the place, reminding you of Bheemili’s rich heritage. One of the best things about Bheemili Beach is that it’s not overcrowded like many other tourist spots. The water is calm and safe for light wading near the shore, and the scenic drive along the Vizag–Bheemili Beach Road offers stunning sea views all along the route. How to Reach: 📍 Location: Around 25 km from Visakhapatnam city center. 🚗 By Car: Take the Beach Road from Vizag (RK Beach ➝ Rushikonda ➝ Bheemili). The drive itself is worth it — beautiful coastal views throughout! 🚌 By Bus: APSRTC buses and private autos regularly operate from Vizag to Bheemili. 🚖 By Cab/Bike: Hiring a cab or renting a bike is convenient if you prefer a flexible schedule. Overall, Bheemili Beach is a must-visit for anyone traveling to Vizag. Whether you’re looking for peace, photography spots, or just the beauty of the Bay of Bengal — this place has it all. Highly recommended! 🌅💙

"I'm absolutely thrilled to give Bheemili Beach a well-deserved 5-star review! This stunning beach has stolen my heart with its pristine beauty, picturesque surroundings, and warm village hospitality. Firstly, the beach itself is incredibly clean and well-maintained. The sand is soft, the waters are calm, and the scenery is simply breathtaking. It's the perfect spot to relax, unwind, and soak up the sun. But what truly sets Bheemili Beach apart is its stunning location within a beautiful village. The surrounding landscape is dotted with lush greenery, quaint cottages, and winding roads that seem to whisper stories of the past. It's a truly immersive experience that will leave you enchanted. And just when I thought it couldn't get any better, I discovered the newly opened Coco Arena! This incredible spot is surrounded by majestic coco trees that provide the most wonderful shade during the scorching summer months. It's the perfect spot to escape the heat and enjoy the cool ocean breeze. I've visited many beaches in my life, but Bheemili Beach stands out for its unique blend of natural beauty, village charm, and modern amenities. Whether you're a local or just visiting, this beach is an absolute must-visit. Five stars isn't enough – I'd give it ten stars if I could! *Pros:* Pristine beach, picturesque village surroundings, newly opened Coco Arena with coco trees providing shade *Cons:* None! *Recommendation:* Head to Bheemili Beach for a day of relaxation, exploration, and fun in the sun. Don't forget to visit the Coco Arena for a truly unforgettable experience!"

Around 1 hr drive from Vizag RTC complex area ... RTC bus 900k and 999 also ply to Bheemili hamlet (Bhemunipatnam) ... but tourists better go by auto or car ... Nice scenic ride ... good family beach ... natural rock arch on the beach is however not in main Bheemli beach , it is 10km before , while coming from Vizag ... enjoy nature.

Ramakrishna Beach, also known as RK Beach, is a popular destination in Visakhapatnam for both locals and tourists. It offers a stretch of sandy shore with rough waves and rock formations, making it ideal for walkers and sunbathers. The beach comes alive during sunset with street food vendors, small shops, and visitors gathering to enjoy the vibrant atmosphere. Located near the Kali Mata temple, it is part of the city's bustling seafront area.
I recently visited RK Beach in Vizag with my family, and it was truly an amazing experience! We went there around 9 PM and ended up staying until 1:30 in the morning — that’s how beautiful and peaceful the place was. Time just flew by without us even realizing it. The night view of the beach was simply fantastic. The sound of the sea waves, the cool breeze, and the reflection of the moon on the water created a magical atmosphere. It was a perfect night for relaxation and quality family time. There were many other families there too, enjoying the calm and safe environment. My kids had a great time playing on the sand and watching the waves. The beach was lively but not too crowded, which made it even more enjoyable. One of the best things was that even at night, there were small stalls available for snacks, tea, and coffee — perfect for keeping warm and refreshed. Overall, it was a memorable night by the sea. RK Beach is definitely a must-visit spot in Vizag, especially if you want to spend peaceful, happy moments with your loved ones. We’re already planning to come back again soon!
Satya V — Google review
Highlight of Vizag. The beautiful beach, well maintained and happening. Visitors can simply go to the beach, sit on the seats and enjoy the view. The port can also be seen on the right hand side. There are plenty hotels, restaurants, cafes and street food options. Perfect family weekend outing spot also. A must visit place.
Suxant — Google review
Ramakrishna Beach to use Gen Z parlance is the most "happening" place in Vizag with something for everyone. Stunning views of the Bay of Bengal, golden sands, breathtaking sunrises and sunsets if you are a nature lover. There are also patches of beach shaded by coconut trees called Coco Arenas, ideal spots to relax by the beach. For history buffs there are four museums dedicated to the rich history of Visakhapatnam as the HQ of the Eastern Naval Command. The INS Kursura a museum housed in a decommissioned submarine which gives glimpses of life inside a submarine. TU 142 Museum showcases the history of Naval Aviation and features a well preserved TU 142 aircraft. The Sea Harrier Museum and White Tiger Zone showcase the history of the Sea Harrier aircraft a British built fighter jet capable of vertical lift off and landing, deployed in the 1980's. UH3H Museum is the latest addition showcasing the legacy of the UH3H Helicopter first deployed by the Indian Navy in 2007. The Museum features an actual helicopter allowing visitors to explore the interior of the aircraft. Evenings become a hive of activity when crowds throng the beaches and vendors occupy every available nook or corner selling from authentic local gourmet delights to innumerable knick knacks.

My hometown what a amazing place i spent my childhood here, this is so underrated place in india i always hear people saying too go goa but they never nee about vizag beach, i love and everytime i visit there will be something new, budget auto bus food everything, must visit if you at vizag
Sunny A — Google review
The beach is clean, quiet, and has plenty of seating with a really soothing vibe. Only downside is the local photographers — they keep approaching and taking photos without asking, which gets a bit annoying even though the pictures come out nice.
Swagat S — Google review
Overall good beach. Well maintained. Limited parking, but many park on road. Museums on beach. Landscaping awesome
CHINMAY B — Google review
The beach is a hub for must-see Vizag landmarks INS Kursura Submarine Museum: A decommissioned submarine you can walk through. Victory at Sea War Memorial: Dedicated to the Indian Navy's win in the 1971 war. Visakha Museum and Kali Temple are also nearby.
Chiranjeevi P — Google review
A Review of RK Beach, Visakhapatnam RK Beach, or Ramakrishna Beach, is widely considered the heart of Visakhapatnam's coastal experience. It's a bustling stretch that offers more than just sand and sea, serving as a social hub for both locals and tourists. The main attraction is the lively atmosphere and the scenic beauty, particularly at sunrise and sunset, when the cool sea breeze is most refreshing. The well-maintained beach road is ideal for a leisurely stroll or a morning walk, though some side pavements can be dirtier due to dog waste and scattered rubbish. Evenings see the area transform into a vibrant, crowded spot with numerous street food vendors selling local delicacies like 'Muri mixture', alongside options for camel and horse rides. The beach is a cultural and historical point, with key attractions directly on its shores, including the INS Kurusura Submarine Museum, the TU-142 Aircraft Museum, and the beautiful Kali Temple. These nearby sites make it a convenient and engaging destination for families and history enthusiasts. However, the sea itself is generally rough and rocky, making it unsuitable and unsafe for swimming. Visitors should exercise caution and avoid venturing into the water due to sudden slopes and strong waves. Additionally, some visitors report localized issues with drainage water discharge, which can cause foul smells in certain spots. Overall, RK Beach is a must-visit for its lively vibe, excellent nearby attractions, and beautiful views, but it's best enjoyed from the promenade rather than for a swim.

Gangavaram Beach, situated in Visakhapatnam, offers a serene escape from the city. Surrounded by lush greenery, this picturesque beach provides an ideal setting for relaxation and various activities such as swimming and beach volleyball. Unlike the bustling Ramakrishna Beach, Gangavaram Beach is known for its tranquility and natural beauty.
This is one the best best beaches in Visakhapatnam. It’s very clean. There are steps to reach the top (which were built for a temple) Very peaceful and breathtaking view 🫶 not safe to come with kids otherwise it’s a beautiful beach
Sri V — Google review
This is one of the most beautiful beach viewpoints in Vizag. It is located away from the busy city, with peaceful air and a calm atmosphere. From the high hilltop, you can enjoy stunning views of the sea. It truly feels like a hidden gem, perfect for relaxation and spending quiet time in nature. I suggest not visiting alone and avoiding this place after sunset, as the roads are not good and there are no street lights. The area is surrounded by jungle, with no nearby villages, shops, or food options. Girls especially should be very careful.

Park
Lawsons Bay Beach Park, also known as Pedawaltair Beach, is a hidden gem located 8-9 km from Vizag city center. It offers a quieter atmosphere and pristine sands, making it perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and long beach walks away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The beach provides beautiful scenery and a cold sea breeze for ultimate relaxation. With crystal clear waters and warm soothing waves, it's an ideal spot for swimming.
It is a great place to bring young kids. It has many play facilities along with outdoor gym equipment installed. It is clean inside the part. The municipality has to take steps to clear the beach area as it is very dirty outside due to an open drain left into the sea. Over all a nice place to take an evening stroll.
Suresh R — Google review
Lots of space to go around. Nice sit outs spread all over. Kids play area. Open gym. Walking track with good greenery. But some times bit foul smell from sea side. But overall well maintained.
Sudhakar A — Google review
The park is good for walking and less crowded. But the beach nearby is the dirtiest beach of visakhapatnam.
Biswamohan D — Google review
We went for morning walk. Unfortunately, we had a bitter experience. Very bad smell from near by big drainage will not leave you at any moment. Maintenance is also not up to the mark. Morning walkers can prefer smart city park or other than this park
G S — Google review
Best for morning walkers and for picnic spot too. Beach view 👌... Only problem is the seashore ,so much of the wastage lies on . U can't walk on that surface . If GVMC or any local bodies take care of cleaning then it's one of the best spot in vizag I can say . Kamath restaurant is beside the park ,so if anyone is planning for a picnic they can try this park where u can get the best park area where u can plan all games , beach view , restaurant nearby.

Mangamaripeta Beach, situated near Vishakhapatnam, is a culturally and naturally rich destination. The beach boasts a Buddhist complex perched at a considerable height, attracting many visitors. It offers a serene environment to relax and enjoy the rhythmic waves. This popular beach also provides opportunities for water sports and features the stunning Mangamaripeta arch. Additionally, it holds historical significance as it was once a prominent center for Buddhism monks under the Kingdom of Kalingas.
Couldn't get the arch. Too many photo shoots. Lovely beach and views
Priya K — Google review
Beautiful beach with rock formations and clean sand. The height of the road, palm trees, hills and wide parking area enhances the beauty of the Beach. But remember the beauty and cleanliness immediately vanishes if litter, plastic bags and food wastage thrown into the beach and surroundings. The beach is not very crowded, it is pristine and you will enjoy the natural Breeze here.
R R — Google review
Quite different from the genuine beaches we know that are mostly cover with sand, this one marks itself by having numerous Rocky structures upon it which are flooded by the sea currents time after time.
Prithwiraj M — Google review
It is little bit far from the main city but you won't face connectivity issue. Its one of the beautiful and unique beach in India, with the structured rocks near beach line. Highly recommended for photo shoots. Only request to the visitors is to keep the area clean and dont throw litters here and there.

Situated between Bheemunipatnam and Visakhapatnam beach road, Sagar Nagar offers easy access to transportation facilities.
Very Nice Beach. Not Crouded So You Can Enjoy Alon & Can Take Good Photos. Also This Beach Is Very Clean, Water Also Clean. But Not Seen People Are Bathing Here. Very Nice Beach. This Beach Is In Front Of Indira Gandi Zoological Park.

Sagar Nagar Beach is a decent place to visit, but the entrance area has black sand and an unpleasant smell, which can be a downside. However, the overall experience is good, with a peaceful atmosphere and a nice view of the sea. If the cleanliness of the entrance improves, it could be a much better spot for visitors.

The beach is so peaceful, i wish it was cleaner. If cleaned up, this would be an amazing beach to enjoy. A bit far from the hustle and bustle of the RK or Rushikonda beach.

Sagar Nagar Beach is not commercialised much so not a lot of crowd is seen there. The beach and the sunrise here is so beautiful but there aren't any big rocks for photos or shells to collect

Right now the best beach in the city of destiny within the city limits. Not much crowded and the beach is far more spacious than the rest in the city. But beware most dangerous in terms of depth. So I would personally recommend not going into the sea. It is unknown to most of the visitors and locals alike. It has recently become popular from the Global Summit and G20 Summit. There are many new attractions that have been added, like coconut plantations, pavements, new view points near by and parking areas,.... This beach is going to become the next popular tourist visiting spot after RK Beach. If you get to visit this place you better use Uber, Ola, or any other such kind of services. I would personally recommend that everyone visit this place. If possible you would get to see me and my daughter playing around as I live nearby and a daily visitor in the morning for burning some calories and in the evening relieving some stress.

Oh, this beach...❤️❤️❤️ I can never forget the day I stepped into the tiny waves of water and dancing like a little girl. It was the early morning breeze playing with my hair and the sun rays teasing my eyes, woahhhh what an experience. Ofcourse, this was my forst out of the town date spot with my then love and now husband. So ofcourse, this will hold a piece of my heart. This beach, in particular, is less crowded compared to the others in Visakhapatnam (Vizag). So yup, feel good and refreshing place❤️❤️❤️❤️

Just beside the Rushikonda beach, this beach lies with calmness and serenity. One of the cleanest beach of Vizag, its widespread and if you want a place just to sit and avoid the crowd this is your place. Just dont forget to carry a newspaper to sit back and relax. The sunsets are the best. You can also enjoy the boiled sweet corns and irani tea sold there by the local vendors.

Good location for family to spend time in the mornings and evenings. There are steps from the garden to the beach. Great view of the beach, mountains and the city. The abandoned ship is a good attraction.

BEAUTIFUL PLACE BUT WITH LOTS OF SCAMMERS. This is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the scenic beauty. However, the experience is often spoiled by scammers posing as photographers who deceive visitors and extract large sums of money. They usually operate in groups, surrounding their targets and even resorting to threats if their demands are not met. At first, they persistently offer to take photos, claiming that each picture costs only ₹20. The seemingly reasonable price may make you agree, but this is where the trick begins. They proceed to take numerous photos without your consent and later display them at a rapid pace, allowing you to view each image only once. Once selected, you cannot go back and change your choices. Some photos may be barely visible, yet they are included in the count. Unknowingly, you might believe you’ve selected just 5-6 photos, but they claim you have chosen around 40-50. As a result, instead of paying ₹100-₹120 as planned, you are suddenly asked to pay ₹800-₹1000. If you refuse, they intimidate you and prevent you from leaving. Visitors should stay cautious of these scammers, and the Visakhapatnam Police and Administration must take action to ensure public safety and protect the reputation of this beautiful destination.

It's very nice beach I ever seen this type of beach .... It's having hill station 🏔️..to see the clear vision of sea.and having temple also on top of hill
Lokesh G — Google review
Appikonda beach is one of the less crowded beach around visakhapatnam. This beach is nearer to visakhapatnam steel plant. Earlier we need to walk along the beach from appikonda beach point to here. But A cement road had been laid to this view such that the people can take their two wheelers upto the view. This road go through the appikonda village. But this view point is yet to be developed fully, so better to keep the vehicles near appikonda beach view point and walk along side beach to reach here The main attraction of this beach is the hill and the temple over it. One has to cross the canal to reach the hill and to climb the hill to reach the temple. It's worth to climb the hill to have a splendid view of surrounding water ,hill, sunrise and sunset too But care had to be taken while crossing the canal as it will be skiddy and dirty. Also the water level will raise at evening time
CHaNdana H — Google review
Appikonda beach is the peaceful beach with less crowd. There’s an ancient lord Shiva temple at the entrance of the beach. This beach has small hill & we’ve to go through the village to reach the hill. On the top of the hill there’s a temple & it has steps to reach the temple. There’s no transport to this beach, we’ve to go on by own vehicle or to book vehicle & should carry own food & water , no shops at the beach. It’s ~15km from the Kurmannapalem.
Charlie — Google review
The Appikonda beach is located 33 km from Visakhapatnam Railway Station (VSKP) and 25 km from Visakhapatnam International Airport (VTZ). There is no public transport available to reach this place. APSTRC Bus available upto Steel Plant / kurmannapalem Bus Stop. It is better to come by own vehicle or a booked car. Most of the residents are fishermen. You can see a few boats are floating with the waves. The best time to visit the beach is during the daytime, preferably at the time of sunrise and sunset. There are no hotels or restaurants available in the surrounding area. So it is recommended to bring your own food or beverages. Adjacent to the beach you can visit the Lord Shiva Temple at the Hilltop. A perfect holiday destination to spend quality time with your friends, family.
Tapendu — Google review
Appikonda beach is scenic with a shore side hill. To climb uphill, one have to cross a drain water stream from the fishing community village., So there was a wooden bridge made of palm tree stems to cross over instead of crossing the shallow drain water stream. One approach is to take route bordering the steel plant compound wall, the other way is through the village interior roads - village route not recommended for 4 wheelers.
Rajasekhar D — Google review
Road way need to be improved. Beach is not clean. Beach waves are dangerous in this beach. Not recommended to swim here. There is a hill in the shore, can climb on steps. View is great.
Venkat V — Google review
Best time to visit is at 5:30 am so that one can enjoy the sunrise which is x factor of the scenic place. Even sunset can be admired though. Carry water bottles to stay hydrated. Photos clicked best in the morning. Approach road is okay with some quite potholes. Better to consult the natives for the best approach road, one is from the village and the other is around the village which is quite easy for vehicles go by, specifically for 4 wheelers. No food will be available over there. One has to carry just in case. There's temple on the hill and can be approached by the stairs. The view from the top is absolutely amazing. Free to visit and open for 24hrs. Note: All the waste from the plant is released into the water hence this makes the water look dark/blackish on the shore.

The VMRDA INS Kursura Submarine Museum, located on RK Beach in Visakhapatnam, is a popular tourist attraction. This museum features the INS Kurusura, a Russian-built submarine that was inducted into the Indian Navy in 1969 and decommissioned in 2001 after 31 years of service. It is the first submarine museum in Asia and the second in the world.
Must visit the spot. You can get a combo ticket which gives entry to the submarine, aircraft museum and sea harrier. They are all located in walkable distance near RK beach. Try to visit in the evening as it will be cool. There will be air conditioning throughout the tour, so no need to worry about ventilation. There will be colourful lighting for submarine from the evening which will be a good view from opposite road. There is no allocated car parking area around, but you can easily find bike parking on the pavement.

Wonderful experience of a lifetime. U get to experience the real view inside a marine lifestyle of submarine. The narrow spaces, multiple wires, switches, a treat to the eyes. Shows us how much struggle the navy goes through to protect us. Simply incredible. No photography inside the museum. Only disadvantage is that there is no air conditioning , except in compartment 1. Ticket price per head, 100/- A must must visit at vizag
Rohit D — Google review
Located right at Ramakrishna Beach (RK Beach), this place has a total of four war-related museums — INS Kursura Submarine Museum, TU-142 Aircraft Museum, Sea Harrier Museum, and UH-3H Helicopter Museum. If you plan to visit all four at once, the combined ticket is ₹200 per person. However, if you visit them individually, the ticket price is ₹100 per person per museum. Among all, the INS Kursura Submarine Museum is a must-visit once in a lifetime. It gives you a real glimpse into the tough life of our naval officers inside a submarine — how they live, work, and protect us deep under the sea during naval missions. I’ve uploaded a few inside pictures to give you an idea, but honestly, seeing it in person is a completely different experience — something you won’t find anywhere else. Just outside the museum gate, there’s a souvenir shop where you can buy small gifts and mementos to remember your visit. Highly recommended if you’re visiting Vizag or RK Beach! 🇮🇳⚓

As a Mechanical Engineer, visiting the VMRDA Kursura Submarine Museum in Visakhapatnam was truly one of the most fascinating and inspiring experiences of my life. It’s not just a museum — it’s a living monument of engineering brilliance, naval courage, and Indian innovation that operated during an era when advanced electronics and digital automation were not yet developed. Everything inside this submarine runs purely on mechanical and manual systems, and that alone is enough to amaze anyone who loves machines and real-world engineering. The moment I stepped inside the submarine, I felt as if I had travelled back in time. The narrow corridors, control panels, and precisely arranged valves, levers, and gauges all tell a story of sheer human skill and endurance. Every inch of the Kursura showcases the dedication of Indian Navy officers who operated it with precision and bravery, defending our coastline under extreme conditions. It gave me a real sense of the challenges our naval heroes faced — limited space, high pressure, mechanical complexity, and the constant responsibility of keeping the submarine functional deep under the sea. From an engineering point of view, the Kursura is nothing short of a masterpiece. The way mechanical linkages, pressure systems, and propulsion units were integrated decades ago — all without modern sensors or computer controls — left me speechless. The attention to detail in the design reflects the intelligence and creativity of engineers of that generation. Even today, many of the internal systems are preserved in near-working condition, giving visitors a rare chance to see how things actually functioned when the submarine was active. Learning that the submarine was given a voluntary retirement after serving the nation for many years made me respect it even more. It wasn’t decommissioned due to failure, but because technology advanced and newer submarines with digital systems took over. Still, Kursura remains a symbol of mechanical engineering excellence and continues to educate thousands of visitors every year about how powerful and reliable purely mechanical systems can be. The museum staff and guides deserve appreciation too — they explain every section clearly and ensure that visitors understand the importance of each control room, torpedo section, and engine bay. Standing inside the engine room, hearing about how the diesel engines worked and how oxygen and pressure were maintained underwater, made me feel proud to be an engineer. It truly connects theory with reality — from thermodynamics to fluid mechanics, everything is right there in front of your eyes. I strongly recommend every student, engineer, and patriotic Indian to visit the Kursura Submarine Museum at least once. It’s not just about seeing an old naval vessel — it’s about experiencing the blend of science, courage, and history that shaped our defense capabilities. The Kursura is not only a war hero but also a museum of inspiration, reminding us that great things can be achieved with determination, teamwork, and innovative engineering. 🇮🇳

The proudest and most iconic reminder of Visakhapatnam's history as the HQ of the Indian Navy's Eastern Command, the Submarine Museum in Vizag, also known as INS Kursura Submarine Museum, is a must visit, one of a kind tourist attraction in the City. It's housed in a decommissioned Kaveri Class Soviet-built submarine, INS Kursura, which was decommissioned in 2001 after having served the Indian Navy for 31 years. The museum provides an immersive experience, offering insights into life inside a submarine and the complexities of underwater warfare. On display are various sections of a submarine, including the control room, torpedo room, crew quarters, the radar room and the engine room.
Adrian C — Google review
It's a marvelous machine to admire from outside and inside but it was too suffocating with no AC or fresh air to stay inside. I had to walk out immediately. Normally small batches are allowed inside but due to the arrival of some random minister's son the place was closed for visitors.
Mallika J — Google review
Visited on a Sunday evening, so it was a little crowded. Tickets are Rs. 100 for adults and Rs. 60 for a mobile / cam and can be bought at the gate. A few other museums are nearby and a combo ticket is also available for Rs. 200. I feel the interiors should have been a little more ventilated for comfortable viewing. It is an engineering showpiece, well captioned to showcase life in a submarine. Must appreciate the tough life underwater for our Navy personnel. Salute! Jai Hind!!!

Dolphin's Nose Lighthouse is a popular tourist destination located on the Gangavaram port of Vizag, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the city and ocean. The name is derived from the large rock viewpoint that resembles a dolphin's nose shape. This 174-meter-high headland provides stunning vistas of the coastline and lush green hills.
It is a must visit place in vizag. The experience is amazing. The view is breathtaking. The timings are restricted from 3PM - 5PM only, so plan accordingly. It is located towards the south of vizag, roughly 25km from RK beach. The way goes through industrial areas, military areas and a steep ghat road. The ghat road journey can be a little tough with sharp turns, speed breakers, steep road and bumpy patches. Once you reach the entrance, there is a good parking area and you can buy the entry ticket. From there you need to walk around 200-300m to the main lighthouse. From there you need to climb around 70 normal steps and 10-12 steps in a ladder to reach the top. The view is just breathtaking and very wholesome. The wind will be strong, so take care of your belongings. And walk slowly as there is less area to roam on the top. Cellphone signals will be weak here.

The Dolphin’s Nose Lighthouse is one of Vizag’s hidden gems and absolutely worth a visit. Perched on a rocky headland, the lighthouse offers a spectacular panoramic view of the coastline and the vast Bay of Bengal. The sweeping sight of the blue waters meeting the rugged shoreline is truly breathtaking and makes the climb worthwhile. The area around the lighthouse is calm and less crowded, which adds to the charm. It’s a great spot for photography, relaxation, or simply soaking in the refreshing sea breeze. The vantage point also gives visitors a unique perspective of Vizag’s natural beauty, blending hills, sea, and port views all in one frame. Do take note of the visiting time on the day of your visit. Its 3pm-5pm. Security is kind of strict in the area for obvious reasons. For those exploring the city, the Dolphin’s Nose Lighthouse is a must-visit destination to experience the scenic grandeur of the coast

A fantastic place! This was my first visit to a working lighthouse, and it was truly fascinating. Do note that it’s open only for a short two-hour window, so it’s best to reach around 2:30 PM, as ticket sales start from 3 PM onwards. The climb inside can be challenging for elderly visitors since the stairs are steep and narrow, but we were fortunate to be in the first batch. The bird’s-eye view from the top is absolutely mesmerizing and makes the effort worthwhile. A must-visit spot if you’re in Vizag for the first time!

The Divis beach is an amazing experience. The path to the beach can be improved a lot more and a way board would also help. But everything else is amazing. A very quiet and peaceful place to hangout with friends and dearest. You can sit on the sand and enjoy the view, but I wouldn’t recommend going into the water though. Although it is an amazing beach, this is a waste dump for Divis Laboratory. The water might contain chemicals and would create some irritation on skin.

Zoo
Indira Gandhi Zoological Park, located just 17 kilometers from Vizag, is one of Asia's largest wildlife parks spread over 625 acres of Kambalakonda Reserve Forest. The park showcases a diverse range of animals, including white tigers, panthers, spotted deer, and various primate species in naturalized enclosures. Visitors can explore the park through guided safaris to gain insights into the unusual fauna and participate in conservation education initiatives.
The zoo was completely clean and well maintained. I saw animals like Tiger, Lion, jackals, crocodiles, cheetah, deer, elephants, various types of birds and many more. I went in a cool weather which made the place look more attractive. Animals are being taken care properly by the authorities. Inside there are places to have ice cream, tea or coffee. The place is worth visiting for wildlife lovers.

Vizag Zoo Park We recently visited Vizag Zoo Park with our family, and it was a wonderful experience! We saw a wide variety of animals including tigers, white tigers, elephants, giraffes, crocodiles, snakes, lions, deer, and even an anaconda. The kids were especially excited to see the different species of birds, peacocks, and tortoises. We chose to explore the entire zoo on foot, which allowed us to enjoy the natural beauty and greenery all around. It was a refreshing and peaceful walk, and a great way to connect with nature while learning about wildlife. We also visited the butterfly zone, which looked nice, but unfortunately there were no butterflies at the time. That was a bit disappointing, but overall it didn’t take away from the experience. The zoo is well-maintained and perfect for a family outing. My kids really enjoyed everything, and we had a great time together. Highly recommended for a fun and educational day out in nature

I visited this zoo around 10 years ago, and recently revisited it — I was genuinely amazed by how much it's changed! The transformation is unbelievable. The zoo is now home to a wide variety of animals, and the overall experience has been significantly upgraded. The infrastructure is impressive, with beautifully maintained greenery throughout. There are plenty of benches and shaded areas under large trees, making it a very comfortable place to rest as you explore. Despite the hot weather outside, the zoo felt pleasantly cool thanks to the abundance of trees and plants, which really enhance the environment and provide a natural cooling effect. The zoo also has free drinking water stations at multiple spots, which is a thoughtful and much-needed facility, especially during warmer months. There’s a canteen inside the zoo too. I tried the chicken biryani, which was surprisingly tasty. They also serve meals, though I found those to be just average in taste. For convenience, the zoo offers traveller vehicles and electric cycles, which are great for covering the large area without getting too tired. Overall, it’s a fantastic place to hang out with family or friends. Whether you're there for the animals, the peaceful greenery, or just a relaxing day out, this zoo has truly become a great destination. Highly recommended! The best visit time is around 11 to 11:30 AM as it is the feeding time for the animals.

Visited Indira Gandhi Zoological Park recently, and it’s a wonderful place to explore with children and family. ✅ Wide Variety of Animals – The zoo has White Lions, Tigers, Monkeys, Parrots, Tortoises, and many other wild animals. It’s a great learning experience, especially for kids. ✅ Good Environment – The park is spacious, and walking around gives you a real jungle-like feel. ⚠️ Suggestion for Improvement: In the parrot section, the birds are not clearly visible due to white glass panels. It would be better if they used mesh or transparent barriers instead, to allow better viewing while ensuring safety. Overall, a great outing spot with lots to see and learn. With a few small improvements, it can become one of the best zoological parks in the region! Let me know if you'd like this translated or shortened for social media posts!

A Day at the Zoo 🐘 Had such a fun (and slightly tiring 😅) day at the zoo! MONDAY CLOSED 🎟️ Ticket – ₹70 🚗 Parking – ₹50 (₹700 if you take your car inside) 📵 No network inside, so better carry cash. 👶 If you’re with elders or toddlers, take the e-car — walking can be tough. If you choose to walk, you have to complete the full round — you can’t come back midway. Toilets are there but some lights don’t work. A few animals weren’t available, and there’s no one around to inform you. To see the fish, there’s an extra charge of ₹4 per person. In between, you’ll only find ice cream and a water cooler, so carry some snacks if you need more. Despite the little issues, it was still a nice day surrounded by animals and nature! 🌿🐾 Such a peaceful and happy day! 🌿💚

The Vizag Zoo is a well-planned and thoughtfully designed zoo that offers visitors an enjoyable experience amidst nature. Spread out across a large area, it features a wide variety of animal exhibits that are both educational and engaging. The enclosures are generally spacious, allowing the animals to move freely and providing visitors with a closer-to-natural experience. One of the main highlights of the zoo is undoubtedly the White Bengal Tigers. These majestic animals are a major attraction, and watching them up close is a memorable experience. Visitors can choose between driving through the zoo in their own car or opting for a personal buggy ride, which makes it convenient for families and those who prefer a guided, comfortable tour. To fully explore the zoo and its exhibits, it usually takes around 2–3 hours. At the same time, certain sections of the zoo are undergoing upgrading and renovation works, which is a positive sign of continuous improvement. Once completed, these will further enhance the visitor experience and the welfare of the animals. Overall, Vizag Zoo strikes a fine balance between recreation and conservation, making it a great place for families, animal lovers, and tourists alike.

Victory At Sea War Memorial is a seaside park located on Beach Road, dedicated to the Indian naval victory in 1971. It was opened in 1996 to honor the brave navy soldiers who were martyrs in the India-Pakistan war. The memorial commemorates the successful defense of INS Vikrant from a Pakistani submarine attack, which led to India's victory and the creation of Bangladesh.
Tall & impressive, this war monument reminds you of the glories of the Indian Navy during the 1971 war. A telling tribute to our brave soldiers. Can be visited along with various other attractions as it just takes few minutes. Overseas the RK beach and provides good views of the sea.

The Victory at Sea Memorial in Vizag is a compact, poignant, and thoughtfully located tribute to the Indian Navy and the sacrifices of naval personnel during the 1971 Indo-Pak War. It’s not a full, detailed museum — but as an outdoor memorial, it does a good job of combining solemn remembrance with scenic waterfront ambiance, making it well-suited for short visits, personal reflection, or as part of a broader beach road walk. If you’re traveling in Visakhapatnam, especially along Beach Road, the Victory at Sea Memorial is a worthy stop: not just for its historical resonance, but also for the peaceful, contemplative space it provides next to the sea. It pairs particularly well with visits to the Ramakrishna Beach and the INS Kurusura Submarine Museum, turning the walk into both a tour and a moment of remembering the naval heritage of the city.

**TU 142 Aircraft Museum – Family Visit 🥰🥰🥰** During our recent trip to Visakhapatnam, we visited the TU 142 Aircraft Museum located near RK Beach, close to the HPCL Colony. It was an exciting and educational experience for our whole family. The museum is centered around the decommissioned TU 142M aircraft, a long-range maritime patrol and anti-submarine warfare aircraft used by the Indian Navy. The aircraft, now on display, has been beautifully preserved. We were amazed by its massive size and advanced features for its time. Inside the museum, there are several informative exhibits about the aircraft’s history, its role in Indian defense, and the technology used. The children especially enjoyed the interactive screens and videos that explained how the aircraft operated. The museum is well-maintained, with clean surroundings and helpful staff. We also appreciated the neatly arranged photo gallery and the short documentary that gave us more insights into naval aviation. Overall, it was a fun and educational outing for all of us. The visit gave us a sense of pride in our nation’s defense achievements. We highly recommend the TU 142 Museum to families visiting Vizag – it's a great combination of learning and enjoyment.👌👍🤝🤝🤝🥰

Great museum, the entrance with the long curved room with different sections is really interesting, it has all sorts of things like memorials for pilots, a lifeboat, an engine and more cool things. The tu142 itself is also preserved very well, I just wish the flight deck was not chained off.

In March, I had the pleasure of visiting the 142 Aircraft Museum in Visakhapatnam with a friend, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable experiences of our trip. Located right along the beautiful RK Beach and near the iconic INS Kurusura Submarine Museum, the aircraft museum offers a fascinating glimpse into Indian Naval aviation history. The highlight of the museum is the HAL Tupolev Tu-142M aircraft, which served the Indian Navy for nearly three decades. Standing tall and majestic, the aircraft’s sheer size is impressive and commands attention. Inside the museum, we got to explore the aircraft's interior, including its cockpit, radar systems, and sonar room, all of which are preserved to reflect its operational condition. The exhibits and displays were informative and well-organized, with plenty of background on the aircraft’s missions, technology, and history. What made the visit even more exciting was the proximity to the submarine museum, offering a rare chance to explore both naval air and underwater defense technology at one location. The setting by the beach added to the charm, making it perfect for a relaxed yet educational outing. The staff was helpful, and the entry process was smooth. I’d highly recommend the 142 Aircraft Museum to anyone visiting Vizag—whether you’re an aviation enthusiast, history buff, or just looking for a unique experience by the sea. It’s a tribute to India’s naval legacy and a proud piece of maritime history.

Tenneti Park, nestled along Beach Road in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, is a delightful urban oasis that captivates visitors with its breathtaking views of the Bay of Bengal. This beautifully landscaped park has undergone significant renovations to restore its charm after Cyclone Hudhud's devastation. Now featuring well-maintained gardens and inviting walkways, it serves as a perfect retreat for leisurely strolls or peaceful picnics amidst nature.
A very well-maintained park in Vizag—I planned an early morning visit during my stay in the city. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the views were stunning. The beach, the stranded Bangladesh ship, and the sunrise created such a calming experience. It’s a peaceful place to spend a quiet morning. I’m not sure if it gets crowded later in the day, especially with kids, but I had a great time there. I took the stairs down for a closer view of the stranded ship. There were quite a few photoshoots going on near the rocks, with the ship as a backdrop and the sunrise adding a natural effect. 😁 I also got to see some local fishermen pulling in their nets full of fish. Overall, it was a good experience, and I would definitely recommend anyone visiting Vizag to plan a morning visit here.

Peaceful park. It is a really good location to chill. It is a very photogenic location with great view points. It is beside kailasagiri. There is a good car parking area on the opposite road. There are benches available at various places in the park where one can sit and relax. You can go down the stairs to visit the ship. There is a view point on the way to stairs where you click good photos with beach, mountain and ship as backgrounds.

Tenneti Park: A Word of Caution Teneti Park is a scenic spot, especially with the decommissioned ship anchored along the shore — a picturesque sight that draws many visitors. However, beware of scammers posing as photographers near the ship. These individuals will offer to take your photo for a small fee (₹20 per photo), but it’s a trap. Even if you clearly say you want only 5 pictures, they will click hundreds, then claim they can’t delete any of the selected ones. You’ll be forced to pay for low-quality, poorly composed images taken on substandard cameras by people with zero photography skills. They usually wait in a shed near the old ship, targeting unsuspecting tourists. Avoid them at all costs. Don’t fall for the scam!!!

Mutyalammapalem Beach, located in Vizag, is a picturesque destination with a stunning backdrop of hills and lush forests. The beach offers mesmerizing views of the river flowing through Syamala Konda hill and connecting to the beach. Visitors can enjoy anchored boats adding to the scenic beauty. While hiking is an option for those seeking adventure, it's important to be cautious due to slippery conditions. Families can appreciate the soft beach and tranquil atmosphere, but should be mindful of preserving nature.
Such a beautiful discovery as it is one of the most peaceful, beautiful and non crowded beaches around Vizag. It's clean and heavenly. The fishermen and the fish are at play and the humans are at bay :)

I recently visited Mutyalammapalem Beach, and it's a hidden gem worth exploring, .The beach's pristine beauty and tranquility make it a perfect escape for families. However, it's important to note that I did notice a faint chemical smell in the vicinity, which might be attributed to nearby industrial activities. While it's a minor drawback, One charming aspect of this beach is the presence of colorful fishing boats, which not only add to the natural beauty but also provide an authentic glimpse into the local fishing community's life. I recommend visiting during daylight hours when the scenic beauty of the beach shines through, and the smell is less noticeable. Overall, it's a serene spot for a family outing that's not to be missed.

My family lives here. Now outsiders came and settled here but it's our ancestors village, the name of the village is given by our surname gudla. Very nice place and it's very pleasant and peace to reside here. Since it's very close to beach it attracts tourists more. The famous rushikonda beach is nearby to it. Before entering our village, there exists a temple of goddesses muthyalamma and bhoolokamma. We visit that and go into our village. Indira Gandhi zoological park is 200mtrs from our home. Beach
Thanthadi Beach is a hidden gem in Vizag, located about 50km away from the city. It offers a serene and beautiful environment with easy trekking opportunities on the nearby mountains. The beach features small caves and an abundance of marine life, making it perfect for exploration. While the area may have some plastic waste, the water remains clean and less polluted. Visitors can enjoy stunning views from atop two small hills and indulge in activities like photography or simply relaxing with friends and family.
A little over an hour away from the city, but a very quiet and serene spot with a beautiful sunset. Not too crowded even during the weekends. The roads however could be a little narrow for a 4 wheeler.
Reisangdar S — Google review
"I visited this beach, and it’s a must-visit spot for every tourist. It is located quite far from Vizag city, but the stunning views make the trip worthwhile. The highlight of the beach is the two massive rocks, approximately 50 meters high, which people often climb to enjoy the breathtaking view. It's an ideal location for photoshoots. There’s also a nearby village where you can find basic essentials, making it a great spot for picnics and chilling out with friends. One fascinating thing about this beach is that one side has low tides while the other side experiences high tides, making it safe for families to enjoy the calmer side. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. The beautiful sunset was mesmerizing, and the surrounding hills added to the charm. However, the roads leading to the beach are narrow, so you need to drive carefully. Overall, it was an amazing experience, and I had a lot of fun!

Awesome beach with great sunset points. There was very little crowd and the roads were very good till the beach. Clean beach. It's worth visiting.
Rahul R — Google review
A beautiful and secluded beach far from the city, nearly 60 kilometres. The place is easy to reach with the help of Google-maps, and the journey takes you through beautiful and rustic little villages that would make you all nostalgic. The beach itself is calm and breathtakingly beautiful. The surrounding little hillocks offer an amazing view of the beach and is also a good place to have a picnic with a bunch of friends. Not a very safe place for girls, so I'd suggest to return back before it gets dark. There is slightly bigger hill that can be scaled in less than 30 minutes and that offers an unprecedented view of the village and the beach.
Girish K — Google review
It's a must watch beach. The water is so clear and surroundings are very neat. You have a great infinite artistic view from any place in here. Cracked pieces of glasses are there which are to be kept check on.
Varun V — Google review
The view is amazing from the top of two small hill like. It is clean (you can clearly tell by looking at the water) and less polluted with plastic waste(Although the Parking area has a lot of plastic waste like bottles, Icecream Cups,.. & beach area with broken Alcohol bottles). Location is far away for most people but it is 22Km from Steel Plant area. Narrow roads, No street lights & u need to go through the village. ❌not recommended to go in night.
Amit T — Google review
It's like any other beach on the East coast but with a twist - beautiful rocky terrain thats patchy , in the midst of which u can enjoy shallow clear waters safely and utmost the sand here is Clean clear which is rare .I just loved the sands texture clean clear and soft I even got a handful as a memory . As the number of people visiting increased , it has become a bit dirty but that's far from the other beaches i have ever visited
