Today (24 October 2025), I visited the iconic Howrah Bridge in Kolkata, and I must say, it left me completely amazed. It’s truly a wonder to see how such a massive bridge stands tall without a single supporting pillar in the river — a masterpiece of engineering and design.
The place was quite crowded, as expected, but the energy and liveliness around the bridge had its own charm. What fascinated me the most was how beautiful the bridge looked at night when the lights were turned on — the entire structure glowed with elegance, creating a magical view over the Hooghly River.
If you really want to experience the true beauty of the Howrah Bridge, I’d suggest seeing it from a boat on the river. The reflection of lights in the water and the calmness of the surroundings make it an unforgettable sight.
However, I did feel that the footpath areas could be a bit cleaner and there are too many street vendors, which sometimes makes walking difficult. Also, it surprised me that there were no books or small stalls selling information about the bridge’s history. Being such a historical and symbolic structure, it would be wonderful if tourists could easily find books or pamphlets telling the story behind this great monument.
Overall, visiting Howrah Bridge was a memorable and enriching experience — a blend of history, architecture, and human spirit that continues to inspire awe even today.

The flower market is not to be missed. Incredibly beautiful and photogenic. Take the time to walk through the alleyways of the flower market to see the different "specialists.". There is also an excellent ghat (along the river) on the backside of the market from which to take amazing photos of the Howrah Bridge.
Visiting Howrah Bridge is a surreal experience. The structure is massive and truly a marvel of engineering — built entirely without nuts or bolts! Walking across it during sunset gave stunning views of the Hooghly River, and the energy of the place is unmatched, with people, vehicles, and life constantly moving around you.
The only downside is the heavy traffic and crowd — it can get chaotic, especially during rush hours. But if you're in Kolkata, it's a must-see. Try going early morning or late evening for a more peaceful experience. Don't forget to stop at the flower market nearby!

I spent time near the 12 Shiva temples, each echoing centuries of spiritual energy. The evening aarti was a divine spectacle—flames dancing, bells ringing, hearts surrendering.

I love exploring museums and have visited museums across all major Indian cities, and I can say with confidence that this is the finest museum in India, at least from my experience. The collection is vast and incredibly diverse, showcasing historic items and antiques from across time and geography. The star attraction is the 4000 year old Egyptian mummy in the Egypt Gallery, which is truly fascinating. Apart from that, the museum also houses remarkable Buddhist archaeological treasures from Gandhara (present-day Kandahar, Afghanistan), along with fascinating galleries on fossils, zoology, birds, geology and what not. The Botany Survey of India is also part of this museum, adding to its richness and diversity. I would recommend keeping at least 2–3 hours aside to explore properly. This museum is a journey through both history and culture, and an absolute must visit.

The Indian Museum established in 1814, is the oldest and largest museum in India, and the collection is truly impressive. Highlights include the Egyptian mummy, ancient Buddhist sculptures, and the natural history section with fossils and skeletons. The building itself is beautiful and full of history.
Tickets are very affordable(75₹), and the museum is easy to reach by metro or bus. However, some galleries feel outdated, and the displays could use better lighting and descriptions. Still, it’s an amazing place to learn about India’s rich heritage. Plan at least 2–3 hours to explore properly.
A wonderful old building and collections that need a lot spending on them to reorganise and modernise.
The displays of stuffed animals, massive room full of innumerable rocks, Indian flora and other rooms such as on invertebrates, are all pretty tired and very dated.
However the huge archeological collection of stone carvings and sculptures of Buddhas and other deities from over many centuries is stunning and worth the entry fee themselves. And the massive stone railings and gateways from Bodh Gaya and Bharhut? Just Wow.

The curation is thoughtful, and the architecture itself adds to the grandeur, especially the courtyard surrounded by white colonial-style buildings.
But the real surprise? There’s a super secret real mummy tucked away in the Egyptian gallery. It’s not heavily advertised, so stumbling upon it feels like discovering a hidden relic. Definitely one of the most surreal moments of the visit. Photography is prohibited and strictly supervised.
The artifact displays are well-lit and informative, and the museum offers plenty of photo-worthy corners for history buffs and architecture lovers alike.

Great place filled with history and here the time speaks. The ancient artifacts and other elements would drug to the past. It would reveal India's ancient glory. Walking through the ground floor of the museum it might appear that the people of the past weren't less intellect than us and even their appetite exceeds ours in some cases. The magnificent stone work would left the viewer speechless. No need to buy tickets in advance and interestingly buying a photography ticket one can get permission of taking photos almost all the things though rate is different for mobile camera and digital cameras.

Botanical Gardens is an ideal getaway from Kolkata along with friends and family. There are a few walking trails, small peddle boating facility for an additional Rs 50 per person, and ofcourse the star of the show being the grand old banyan tree. You can also avail the golf cart to commute inside the park ofcourse at an additional cost
Suggestion: Carry your own water and food for young children as there are no cafe or even place to buy water inside the gardens. Plan for 3-4 hours during the afternoon. Do note that the park closes 5pm

Very beautiful place. One of the best places around Kolkata to visit for one day tour. The garden is spanning across a vast area covered with trees and greenery. Special highlights/points -
1) One must go for the Nature Trail. Actual forest like experience. Highly recommended.
2) Boating Facility is available. 50/- per head for 30 minutes. 200/- per head foreigner
3) Vehicles are available for commute inside the garden. It is charged person basis.
4) Great banyan tree is a must visit.
5) Public toilets and drinking water is available within 300 meter distance.
6) Picnic can be done but with minimal disposables and no plastic usage.
7) Vehicle is available inside for travelling but it needs atleast 8 people to start.
From Howrah Jn. take minibus to B. Garden and reach here in 30 minutes. Bus fare is around 15/-

1) Tightening of security at gate is required as few people still go inside with plastic and dispose them off.

On the flip side, some facilities like restrooms and food stalls need improvement, and in summer the heat can be intense, so mornings or evenings are the best time to visit. Plastic is not allowed, which helps keep the garden clean.

Beautiful bridge but average experience
The Second Hooghly Bridge is definitely an impressive structure and looks stunning, especially during sunset or when it's lit up at night. It connects Howrah and Kolkata efficiently. However, the overall experience is just average—there's usually a lot of traffic, and the surrounding areas aren't very clean. It's nice to drive over, but there's not much for pedestrians or tourists to enjoy nearby. Worth seeing once, but not something to go out of the way for.

I have visited the stadium five times, and among those, the first-ever pink-ball Day-Night Test match between India and Bangladesh left a lasting impact on me. The stadium, with an approximate seating capacity of 68,000, was packed to the brim that day. During the event, I had a brief conversation with a ground staff member who shared info that the boundary dimensions are approximately 66–68 meters on the square side and 76–78 meters on the straight side.
The stands inside the stadium are named after cricketing legends such as Sourav Ganguly, Pankaj Roy, and Jagmohan Dalmiya. The B.C. Roy Club House named in honor of former West Bengal Chief Minister Dr. B.C. Roy.
While attending matches, you might experience cellular connectivity issues due to the presence of signal jammers. However, vendors selling water and snacks are quite efficient. There are also food corners and canteens inside the stadium offering decent food, albeit at higher-than-usual prices.
One area that consistently falls short is crowd management. In my experience, the gathering process lacks professionalism. A stadium of such iconic status should ideally have more streamlined crowd-control mechanisms.
For your information I want to let you know that Eden Gardens is owned by the Eastern Command of the Indian Army and managed by the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), whose headquarters are within the stadium complex.

The experience is very special over there, the crowd was properly managed and controlled by the management. The seeds were clean and well maintained. This stadium provides a capacity over 86000 people. During matches of IPL and normal to tournaments the ticket price ranges between 900 and can go up to 20000 depending upon the match. Some matches are shown free of cost like test series.... Overall the experience was good and the food stall and the food we get inside the stadium was also good and hygiene was maintained...

I'm still reeling from the incredible experience I had at Eden Gardens last night! The stadium was ELECTRIC, and the energy of the crowd was palpable. The ground itself was a sight to behold - the lush green outfield, the perfectly manicured pitch, and the iconic stands all combined to create an atmosphere that's hard to match.
But what really took my breath away was the laser show! It was absolutely KILLER! The vibrant colors, the precision, and the synchronization with the music all came together to create a visual spectacle that left me speechless. I've seen some amazing pre-match shows in my time, but this one was something special.
The crowd was buzzing with excitement, and the players seemed pumped up too. The whole atmosphere was infectious, and I found myself caught up in the fervor, cheering and chanting along with the rest of the fans.

The temple is very beautiful. But I didn’t see any sign saying that photography is not allowed. When I went to take a photo of the idol, the security guard started shouting loudly. This is not the right way. If photography is not allowed, then please put a board like other temples do.

Had a wonderful experience today at The Chutney Co. I was surprised to see 6 different chutneys served here with Idly, Dosa. The chutney’s were awesome, specially the tangy mango chutney, kara chutney and the peanut chutney. Idly’s were quite big and very soft. I had a Mysore Dosa too and it was just yummy, soft. Had a filter coffee too which was so refreshing. I am also impressed with the service, being a Sunday morning the restaurant was occupied decently, however the service was smooth and none of the tables had to wait too long for their food which is a sign of good management.
They have so many South Indian dishes on the menu, but a major miss is the Kesari Baat and the Basundi in sweet dish. Requesting the management to introduce these two items, it will be a perfect fit.

The food was good, Popeye's Pick( a savoury crepe filled with spinach and corn and supposedly enveloped in cream cheese but wait was it only cheese? Nah...it was white sauce with some cheese. But it's my favourite. Also had the salad bowl with thousand island dressing and Italian dressing was good, crunchy and filling. The cappuccino could have been better( it seemed quite diluted)
The service definitely could do with improvement, the staff need to be attentive.
There are quite a lot of dessert choices on the menu! We ordered the Mango Cheesecake, the Chocolate crepe and a Cremosa. Overall quite good and would definitely try their savoury dishes the next time. There are limited seating capacity but the place is cosy with good food.
Small cafe. Very loud. No fault of the owner or people at service. Just that the crowd is too chirpy, noisy. Atleast didn't come across well mannered crowd, as expected in cafes. Items were pricy. We had coffee and Hot Chocolate. Hot Chocolate was nothing but Bournvita. And Coffee also didn't taste that good. Had Chilli cheese sandwich too. And it was decent. Overall not recommending this cafe.

I had the best waffle in here. The taste is great here. I had mixed sauce arabiata pasta and it was just awesome. The taste and quality of food is awesome here. The price is a bit on the higher side but you won't mind paying extra when you are highly satisfied by the food you eat here. The ambience is also good and staff behaviour is decent. Overall a good place for dates and hangout with friends and family.
A small roadside, yet classy eatery with wide selection of desserts and savory dishes. Its waffles are light and airy, crepes are paper thin. Almost all the dishes are amazing. It is heaven for vegetarian people and those who have sweet tooth. Even gluten free and Dairy products free dishes can be ordered. This place is popular with young and trendy crowd and also with college students.
An iconic eatery in Kolkata. Its famous for its crepes and pastas. The aglio olio pasta here is a personal favourite. The only issue is parking as no street parking is available here. Despite this the place is nearly always full.

Scoop, located at New Market, is an okay place for spending your evening with family. The color & decor of the place are cute. The ambiance is quite noisy, but that's okay. The food is reasonable and pocket friendly.
What didn't really meet my expectations was the service. It was just not too prompt.
Also, I felt that the place doesn't maintain proper hygiene as it should. I could see mosquitoes on the table, the bottles mouth was really dirty. It didn't look fresh at all.
I was so disappointed with a lot of other things. I don't want to write more about it. The pictures will say the rest. I feel the maintenance and cleaning should be taken care of properly. One more disadvantage of this place is that there's no washroom.
Atmosphere and ambience is picture perfect. Quality of the food is also very good. We tried tanduri chicken pizza it was yum.
Tasty food at a great reasonable rate. The desserts are awesome. The taste of all the food tried was awesome. We tried their orange mousse which has perfect balance of sweetness and falvour of orange added to it. It wasn't too sweet but perfectly made creamy mousse with perfect proportion of flavour added. Then we tried the gulab jamun cheesecake. This too was really good and had that perfect balance of flavour and sweetness. In main course we tried tandoori roti and mughlai chicken that tasted really good but the chicken pieces could have been a little bigger. But the taste was no doubt awesome. We also tried their ice cream sundae which was okayise.
Overall a good experience. Already visited this place 3times...wish to visit again.

Just an ordinary average hotel, nothing too special... In fact, my experience in this hotel was far from ordinary
First of all, the room service was extremely slow. For that slow service, I had to wait till 8AM. The hotel staff never had learnt the meaning of Good Service.
The food was very expensive and didn't have the quality and worth for that price. Preparing the food took way too long, and I had to wait for minutes together to get low quality food and empty my wallet for that.
The rooms and the corridor was not maintained at all, as if they didn't knew the meaning of maintenance. Only one of the floors appeared like an actual hotel. In fact, except for the ONLY lift, the stairs were very dingy, in fact it was filled with people who were smoking and some had even occupied the stairs to take a nap as well... The main floor was really dirty, it smelled like Cigarettes and Black Phenyl all the time, and the AC always made weird sounds, some rooms didn't have a working AC at all, and some didn't even have the luxury of a window!
For all of this, it hurted me to spend 3000 per night for this...
My Recommendation: AVOID Noxx Residency as much as possible.
Noxx Residency in Ichapur is a quiet and decent place to stay, especially if you’re looking for something local and hassle-free. I had the chance to visit recently, and the rooms were clean, fairly spacious, and had all the basic amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The environment felt safe, and the staff were polite and cooperative, which made the experience smooth and pleasant.
While the property doesn’t offer luxury-level services, it’s a reliable option for short stays, quick visits, or for hosting guests in the area. The location is convenient, with access to nearby shops and transportation. Overall, it’s a neat and peaceful place that serves its purpose well without any unnecessary complications.
We stayed there from Sep 12-18, 2025.
I must say, this is the WORST HOTEL I have ever stayed in. The moment we entered, the strong pungent, nauseous odour of black phenyle greeted. They use this everyday in the washrooms ans corridors. I had to literally beg them to do something about this. Then they sprayed bottles of godrej aer room freshners everywhere which made matters even worse.
The deluxe rooms which we had booked were like dungeons - no light, no ventillation.
All rooms in noxx don't have fans and their ACs don't work properly at all. It was torture to stay in these rooms.
Almost every possible washroom has water leakage through the AC pipes which were connected inside the washroom. There were no buckets / mugs. No geyser. We would be given an immersion coil to heat water. Please note ours was a big group which had booked 7 rooms.
Complementary breakfast was very much below average and they served the same - poori and alu bhaji every single day.
The food served at the event - Sep 13 and 14 was stale. Two types of chutneys, the saambaar - all had gone bad on both the days. Paneer was very very synthetic and plasticky and has a strong stench of something definitely that could not only be eaten, but also smelt.
We wanted to get away from there aftrer the event but we had made full payment for the next three nights.
The hotel doesn't even have a cancellation policy. After lot of requests, they agreed for only a 50% refund which was not aggreeable. Finally after two days of constant requests they agreed to upgrade our rooms to super deluxe for the same price.
Nothing but the size of the rooms changed.
The incharge person Monalisa is not at all guest friendly and so are the others. House keeping staff were courteous but not well trained at all.
The worst thing was this hotel doesn't have the facility for water refilling. Two complementary bottles of packaged water were given everyday and additional bottles were charged on mrp. Filtered /RO water is not available in this restaurant.
And this for a steep room tariff too. We really felt cheated.
Please do not consider staying here at all. Highly NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!!

The restaurant might be okay, but the hotel is horrible. When my son used the toilet, the flush splashed dirty water all over him. Room service just wiped the same contaminated water around instead of cleaning properly. Extremely unhygienic and unsafe. I had to leave immediately, and still no refund. Avoid this place at all costs.
The ambience is very bad, staff is ok but the hotel is not at all maintained, horrible. We stayed for 5 days, the stink of cigarettes , no ventilation.......same boring breakfast items....pls make it more interesting.

Initially, since all other floors were booked, my room was allotted on the 2nd floor. The corridor had a damp smell and felt quite dull. The room was right next to the store room, and for two nights it constantly felt like my door was being opened or closed whenever anyone accessed it. Because of this, I couldn’t sleep well at all.
The room itself was cleaned fairly but still felt dirty. The bathroom had no exhaust or geyser provision. After 2 days, I was shifted to the 4th floor, which was comparatively better and fairly clean, but again, no geyser.
Basic amenities were a struggle — I had to call reception twice just to get toilet paper and hand wash. The food provision was okay, but not great. Glasses had cracks, the hot water kettle was half broken, and the milk packets provided for tea were expired in both rooms I stayed in.
Overall, the stay fell below expectations. While I am not a frequent traveler, I do expect hygiene, basic maintenance, and attentiveness in service, which were missing here.
Awesome place, not Congested, Food quality is also good and drinks at reasonable price compared to other places, nice ambience, a dance Floor. Overall a satisfying experience, would definitely like to revisit the place..

Food was awful not recommended at all. The coffee was a joke and other food items were also not the very best . The service was satisfactory the servers were very well mannered as well.
Now the main and only selling point is the atmosphere 10/10 for the atmosphere for sure the old school vibes is immaculate and you are going to feel like you have travelled back in time to experience kolkata as it was 30 years back.
Chicken cutlet coating was very thick. The chicken inside seemed uncooked. Cold coffee was terrible, with more water than coffee. Chicken chowmein veggies were undercooked. Hygiene and cleanliness is a bit of concern. Too hot inside. Fans are not of much use. That way prices are a bit on the higher side.
This is one of Kolkata’s most nostalgic places, filled with rich history. However, the food quality is disappointing. I have been here twice mainly to soak in the nostalgia and though I tried different dishes, the taste was just average. Once known for good coffee and food, the quality has sadly deteriorated over the years, and the staff’s behavior is not very welcoming either.
Still, it holds a unique charm. You will often find elderly groups sitting here, continuing their adda sessions that began during their college days, sometimes 50–60 years ago. For that sense of history and continuity, it’s worth a visit at least once but go for the nostalgia, not the food or the coffee.
The Indian Coffee House has an old-world charm and a historic vibe, but unfortunately the experience was disappointing. The food is just average and not worth the price charged. Service is very slow—you have to keep calling the waiters repeatedly to take your order, and their behavior is often unfriendly. What made it worse was that they openly demanded tips, which felt very unprofessional.

We went to this restaurant with lot of hype around. We ordered several items, including trying with basic Bengali veg and fish meal, mutton curry, chicken curry, bhetki fish Masala.
The stand out item was banana flower cutlet, and bhetki fish masala.
The first floor was not at all comfortable, lot of unnecessary carton are lying and access to wash basin and staff was difficult.
At the end, We found a small cockroach on the French fries. We had taken this immediately to hotel manager and staff. They have taken it back and gave us another one. But by this time, we were already done with the basic hygiene followed here. I gave a message to manager to improve this basic thing.
A good restaurant serving Bangladeshi and Bengali cuisine..ambience is quite nice..food is also good..located at official area so basically crowd is seen during day time..staff is well behaved and service is very good.

I went there for lunch and I ordered some Bengali foods like "Kachupata Chingri " , steamed rice, dhokar dalna etc. and I must say Kachupata Chingri was awesome.
Some Important Information:
1) The restaurant is situated on ground floor.
2) You can pay there by cash and online payment system like Phonepe, Google pay etc.
3) The restaurant is best for Bengali foods...
The mutton thali was really horrible. The mutton was not fresh and stale. It had a pungent smell to it. I literally had to throw off the whole mutton curry as it was not in a condition to be consumed. Not recommended at all. Bad option ❌
Kindly try other authentic places known for Bengali cuisine. Please avoid this restaurant at all costs. Pure wastage of money.
The food is good enough. I pointed out an insect in the rice, the waiter response was nonchalant. I had asked for warm water, instead I got boiling hot water to drink, when I had asked how I will drink it, the waiter responded "thode der wait karlo." The waiter served 75% of the rice in one plate.
Service can be improved.

Alfresco is one of the restaurant in The Lalit Great Eastern, situated at the heart of the city, very close to Esplanade.
We opted for the dinner buffet, upon reaching were greeted by the staff cordially. The service was quite sloppy, as we had to wait for 15 mins to get appetizers served and they did not serve the unlimited softdrink as per Dine in and main course was missing Mutton 🙄.
But rest everything was a 5 🌟 experience. The food was absolutely stunning. Every single one of them, top notch in quality, taste and served hot.
The internal decor of this place is a joy for your eyes, neat and clean and well maintained.

Been here around a few months back. Residing at Old Court House Street, Dalhousie Square. Lalit Great Eastern is a popular name in the 5-Star Category of Hotels. The restaurant Alfresco is located on the ground floor of Lalit. The ambience of this place is a classy one. The staffs were courteous but the service was a little slow.
Although the pricing was cheaper compared to other 5-Star Restaurants, the food options were limited too. But the quality of the food was excellent. This place is surely recommended for a fine dining experience and good food.

I'm rating 5star just because of its mutton biryani. Ahh still I can remember the taste. So original & authentic biryani I've ever tried. Softy softy mutton & the flavourful rice just superb one. Must try item.
Although it's durgapuja time so here's a long line due to heavy demand of customers. And staffs are enlisting the name of customers just to make it fast & easy for them.
Also I had tandoori roti & malabar paratha with paneer rajasthani. Literally this was an excellent combo. So delicious & softy paneer ahh 🤤 it was so good. In starter I've tried paneer tikka. Honestly speaking this was so tendered, delicious & flavourful. They're serving so tasty dishes & trying to accommodate every customer as fast as possible. So visiting this place worth it.

We ordered Plain Appam, Malabar Paratha, Mutton Chettinad, and Coriander Rice.
The Plain Appam was okay, nothing special. The Malabar Paratha was great — flaky and delicious. The Mutton Chettinad had really good quality mutton and tasted amazing. The Coriander Rice was out of this world!
Mutton Chettinad went really well with everything we ordered. Overall, it was an amazing experience. A must-visit if you want to try South Indian non-veg dishes. We definitely wish to go there again.
Easily one of the best South Indian restaurants in the city. The pricing is reasonable, the menu is extensive and varied, service is great and timely, the decor is tasteful and the food is fabulous.
What I loved most was that the flavours are not overpowering and suits all palates. Ask for recommendations if you’re unsure. You can go from spicy chettinad to simple yet flavourful appams and stew. Their desserts are also delicious.
Finally Visited Kolkata’s favorite coastal kitchen for 20 years — where every bite takes you to the shores of South India. Located near Deshapriya Park this place will definitely give you vibe of Kerala. They've a huge seating capacity and they Serve North Indian delicacies as well.
We Had : Butter Milk, South Indian Prawns, Fish Ajwaini Tikka, Mutton Stew with Appam, Lemon Rice with Chicken Chettinad, Malabar Paratha with South Indian Mutton & Elener Payasam. I must say their food is extremely good and the quantity as well. Do visit this place if you're in this area.

Chaliye Shuru Karte hai😬 - Huge sitting area, fully airconditioned - lot of staff clean washrooms - Let go to main point -FOOD- Food is like good would not say it was outstanding. Have tried mutton korma but its preperation was totally different it was not like that traditional one. Chicken tangri kababs was also good but not the best. Palak Paneer/ Chicken Reshmi butter masala was outstanding. Fish tikka was good. Butter naan was too fluffy with butter bath. Dekhke lena apna apna🤮 Mutton Biryani was horrible with higher price, about quantity - for one person only. Tutti fruti was good but faluda ice cream was too sweet🫨. See some pictures…

Nice old restaurant that definitely brings back a lot of nostalgia. However, the food quality doesn't quite match the prices — ₹100 for a naan feels pretty steep for an average restaurant in India. While the place holds its old-world charm, it really needs some upgrades to match today’s standards. Overall, it’s a good experience but could be much better with a few improvements.

The food was excellent but the portions were small. I had an excellent Chilli Chicken and Prawn Newberg. Both were good. The Chilli Chicken was especially paltry. The Prawn Newberg was excellent and tasty.

The atmosphere was sadly quiet. I was the last guest in my area. Seeing as if I had taken my time to finish my meal it would have kept them waiting (and they were visibly winding down), I got my food packed. Trinca's is very different.
Do I recommend it ? As compared to Trinca's, no. For old time's sake, once only.
I used to come to Amber as a child with my father 👨👦. Back then, it was one of those classy, slightly expensive restaurants 🍽️ reserved for special occasions.
I fondly remember those complimentary tiny onions dipped in vinegar 🧅🫙 — a nostalgic taste.
This time, I visited with my partner ❤️ and tried the Chicken Kebabs 🍗 and Biryani 🍛. The food, service, and ambiance were all really good.
Not too crowded these days, but definitely an underrated gem 💎 now.

Absolutely pathetic management! We came as a group of 7 and we waited nearly 1.5 hours because the staff here clearly have no idea how to handle a crowd. The so-called "staff in charge," a person named Mustaq, was completely clueless and incapable of managing even the basics of hospitality. If this is the kind of incompetent person they’ve kept around for years, no wonder the service has hit rock bottom.
I have been a loyal customer of this restaurant for a long time, but after today’s experience, I can say with full certainty that the new generation running this place has destroyed its reputation. They are nowhere near the level of competition, and honestly, they don’t even care about customers anymore.
Forcing old customers like me to suffer such nonsense is insulting. This restaurant has become a disgrace, and I would strongly warn everyone to avoid wasting their time and money here. Strongly NOT recommended.
This place used to be a great restaurant for North Indian food. I remember going to this place for more than 20 years!

The worst part is that nothing tastes fresh here, well there is no taste at all.
The service is fine, but there is a sense of greediness of tip that can be seen in every service you get at this restaurant. From the toilet guy, to the server, to the lift person, to the entrance security! like really!? this is so cheap!
The prices when compared to serving quantity, the quantity is not enough. Each order of curry is barely good enough for one person.
Overall extremely disappointed and my last visit to this restaurant. Hope the owners take these customer reviews seriously or this place is surely going to shut down soon!
The food quality was stale. My wife and I went out for dinner on a Sunday. But unfortunately, next day both of our tummies went for a toss. Due to the uneasiness in my stomach, I had to puke out all the food. The quality there has degraded from before. Will never visit again.

Given the rates of the items were quite high no doubt. We ordered Diamond Fish fry priced at Rs.260 and Bhetki Samosa priced at Rs. 80
A spot well hidden in the alley of south kolkata, but not a hidden gem at all. Apanjan, known for their fish fry and other fry items, has been serving Kolkata Bengalis for decades and their legacy still continues. Visited this fry corner and tried their bestseller item large fish fry, accompanied with Fish Worly and chicken fry. The fish fry doesn't need any explanation (taste wise). They use vetki fish fillet, fresh and juicy, bursts a bomb of fishy flavour and freshness, highlighted with mustard sauce and freshly cut Onions. Extremely delicious and flavourful item. The chicken fry was also very good in taste, the entire fry was made with a chicken piece, but to my disappointment, it came with a large piece of bone in it. As for the fish Worly, it was much more similar to a batter fry, very oily and crunchy, the amount of oil somehow extinguishes the craving. Overall experience was pretty good, will definitely visit again to try their other hot selling items like fish singara, fish wanton, fish kachoris, etc. Only one drawback that I felt was they have only Cash payment, no UPI or online payment option is available here. So in case you plan to taste multiple items, do carry cash 😜.
I ordered from Apanjan in Kolkata with high expectations, especially because it’s known for its fish fry. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The fish fry I received was far from what one would expect—too oily, with the crust soggy instead of crisp, and the fish inside didn’t taste fresh. For a place that prides itself on this signature dish, it really missed the mark.
Adding to that, some of the other items we ordered felt mismatched and poorly put together, as if the flavors and combinations weren’t balanced. Instead of comfort and authenticity, the food felt rushed and inconsistent.

Prices are on the higher side, and there is no seating available, so it’s more of a quick stop place than a dine in experience. Still, worth trying if you are a fish fry lover.

This is the best place for fish based snacks like fish fry, fish roll, fish pakora, fish kochuri etc in south Calcutta. Pure vetki fish is used and quality and quantity is absolutely fantastic. I had fish roll, egg devil and fish moghlai parota and all are delicious.

First of all the owners' behaviour is really unprofessional and rude. We paid to QR code via HDFC Bank account UPI system, after paying them the amount was deducted from my account,but his soundbox is not giving any voice confirmation, then we showed him our account statement where its clearly mentioning paid to 'Apanjan' and to their Kotak bank account, he is blaming us by saying that we change the setting so that money can be return back to the source account, i mean how could he can give this kind of false allegations against someone? He is not having the registered mobile where he can check,but can give blame to the customers. Later we gave the statement and our ph number so that they can contact us if the money is not reach to them.

Dum Dum Airport, officially known as Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport, is a well-maintained and modern airport serving Kolkata. The airport offers clean terminals, efficient security checks, and helpful staff. Its domestic and international sections are organized, and there are plenty of seating areas, food stalls, and duty-free shops. Transportation options like app-based cabs and prepaid taxis are easily available outside. Though sometimes it gets crowded during peak hours, the services are generally smooth and reliable. Overall, it offers a comfortable and convenient experience for travelers.
At the gates leading to the check-in area for international flights, the military officers who check passengers' documents (passports, IDs and tickets) are very polite, attentive and kind. They were always smiling at us! We loved their service! The bathroom in the check-in area was very organized, clean and smelled very nice! The bathroom attendants in the check-in area were super polite and kind! The cleanliness in the boarding area (waiting room) needs to be improved. The bathrooms in the boarding area were dirty and smelly. Inside the boarding area, an electric car carrying passengers with mobility difficulties was driving recklessly and at an inappropriate speed, as it was traveling very fast in an area full of people (including children). When the driver realized that I was filming, he would slow down, but soon after he would start acting recklessly again. The quality and volume of the sound of announcements about boarding or passengers being searched for by airlines needs to improve a lot! It is practically impossible to understand what is being said in the announcements.
Nice airport after renovation. Almost all airports under New privatisation things have the same decor and same designs. Not much shops but not bad. Its international as well. No wine shops at domestic arrival. Almost all brands here. Now not much separates the airports in the metro cities. Cab easily comes for pickup at Arrival and not much fuss.
