Famous temple in Magong. It’s where the old street is located with stores. very nice place. No washroom here. Toilet is opposite the road, walk up the hill and the toilet is located there. Very clean. There’s souvenir coin machine here if you are interested to keep a coin collection.
Shawn — Google review
Not as colourful or ornate as most other Mazu temples, but this one is a lot older and made mostly from wood. An icon in Magong city.
Vincent O — Google review
Always look up and at the details in the old temples. The craftsmanship is incredible. Great fish and sealife details of Penghu.

Went there after typhoon and it was quiet and peaceful. Beautiful coast by the way.
Spencer K — Google review
Lovely beach, soft sand and clear water. Small waves when we visited so great for kids to swin too, but no lifeguards! A 7-11 convenience store nearby for eats and drinks
Vincent O — Google review
The cleanest clearest water. Not the softest sand, but it’s nice when you’re trying to shake it off that it comes off pretty easily. There are also pergola that you can use for shade. There are also really close 711s which makes things convenient. We definitely wanna come back here. If I were to stay at a beachfront hotel, I would pick one here.
Pei H — Google review
One of the best beaches I’ve ever been to. Very few foreign tourists and never that busy.
Sam K — Google review
This is the most clean and beautiful beach of all the beaches I have been to in this month. The sand is white and delicate. The sea water is hilariously clean. Overall , the view here is excellent and it's worthy to spend the whole day here.
Bingsian L — Google review
Beautiful beach and not many people. There is also a possibility to rent a surfing board, but you will need to walk a bit from the shop to the beach.
Tracking G — Google review
A wonderful clean beach. There’s no shops or restaurants on the beach, no chairs or umbrellas. It’s just a beach. ❥ You can find a convenience store nearby. It seems to get more visitors after 5pm when the sun isn’t so hot, which I would also recommend. Some jelly fish reported but I’ve not seen or experienced them.
Tom S — Google review
The beach is beautiful and water is very clean. Come in late afternoon to enjoy the gorgeous sunset too. There is water to wash after swim.

A beautiful historical village with amazing little moms' and pops' shops and restaurants! The homemade soft tofu is amazing and the cold almond drink a welcome beverage to quench your thirst. There are so many spots to take adorable instagram pictures. Highly recommmended!

Visitors can also find amenities such as outdoor shower facilities and changing rooms, making it convenient for those catching a flight from the nearby airport. Additionally, the beach provides shade tents available for rent to ensure a comfortable experience under the tropical sun.
Beautiful beach with rooms to change and public toilets. Off season you have the beach all to yourself
Antoine H — Google review
Clean beach and water. Lovely wooden walkway along above the beach. Lots of water sport rides available. Looks like a brand new facility (restaurant?) been built - not yet open. Without a car or scooter, the bus stops are a fair walk. We walked from the airport as the Express buses more frequent.
Vincent O — Google review
Visited on November 2nd. The beach is beautiful but very windy — the sand was flying everywhere! It was peaceful and not crowded at all, only a few people around. Sadly, the coffee shop was closed that day.
Chloé L — Google review
free shower free clothes change room there was a barbecue place along the coast close to the airport highly recommended
I A — Google review
This beach is… fine. A little hard for kids to swim since most of it is rocky where you’d enter the water and depth increases quickly as you walk out. We found one sandy party over where the jet skis were which was good enough for my 5yo to dip in and splash around a bit. Sun is so strong and so hot in June, bring shade + lots of sunscreen.
Gabe R — Google review
Conveniently located only a few minutes from the airport. There are outdoor shower facilities and changing rooms, so you can enjoy the beach, then rinse off & change before catching a flight. The sand & water are both nice, and it's one of the few beaches with shade tents available for rent (a must if you burn easily in the tropical sun). Unfortunately, there is a large collection of cigarette butts wedged into the umbrella support of the beach tables, which does make the area smell a bit like smoke. The beach is largely used for water sports, so there are people using jet skis, SUP, and small canoes. Make sure to watch out for those while swimming, as the operators are not always paying close attention.
Jacqueline C — Google review
Has good facilities. However, peng hu has some other really nice beaches that I prefer. Great if you’re looking for water sports and easy parking
Pei H — Google review
Creamy sands and clear water. Just too windy and wavy during my visit

There are also amenities such as umbrellas and tents available. Additionally, there's a coffee shop on-site.
One of the beaches I love most in Penghu.
Ta-Hui Y — Google review
One of Penghu's most beautiful, least spoilt beaches. Soft white sand, shallow and safe water for swimming or doing other water sports. There's a place to buy snacks and drinks, shelter from the sun and Poseidon water sports centre. Great for camping.
Jonathan W — Google review
It is one of favorite beach in Peng-hu. Especially, the sand is so soft. If you have a time, you must visit this awesome spot and also not so much people there.
CHIKAI ( — Google review
Quiet beach with small community nearby. Water is clean and clear. It's like a bay. We love coming here, even just for a walk.
Saou-Wen ( — Google review
So hot in June. Nearly no shades, bring your sunscreen things.
FF — Google review
The beach is quite beautiful, but this dog is the best. I think it belongs to someone who lives near the beach, but seriously, pet this dog. He is a 10/10 dog.
Rico T — Google review
When we stopped here the beach was nearly empty. Unbelievably gorgeous water and sand.
David H — Google review
We really enjoyed this beach. The sand is comfortable under foot. The water is cool and easy swimming for our five-year-old. The are some services like umbrellas and tents. There are activities like water skiing and a self-powered surf board (I’m not sure what they are called) but not so much to make swimmers feel unsafe. There is a coffee shop. The only issue I have is paying for rinsing facilities that are not very useful.

Fongguei Cave, located at the southwestern tip of an island, is a basalt column sea cave famous for the whistling sounds produced by waves sucking air through narrow vents. The cave offers a platform to admire the coastline and experience the power of the sea, with strong currents creating roaring sounds. During typhoon season, the air vent transforms into a powerful fountain shooting water several stories high.
Sea wind is strong in this area , while riding motorcycle to here , be careful.. The sea view is worth to visit, sea views are the treasure of PenHu islands 👍
Jim T — Google review
The scenery is so stunning. If you are stay on the top of the tower, you can see great ocean and massive basalt. Besides, you can also hear waves hit on the rock sounds but I prefer the view. I think if I am in the bad mood then see this amazing view, I will feel better in the short time. There are several bench that you can sit and see these wonderful ocean view. So nice.
CHIKAI ( — Google review
Nice rocky outcrop, especially for the fishermen. The sea was quite calm, despite strong winds, so the waves didn't make any drumming or whistling...!? Cave is small and not easily seen from the rocks. The water is really clean! The white towers are impressive and are just an observation platform.
Vincent O — Google review
Incredibly and unbelievably hot in the summer months. Be sure to bring a hat and sunscreen. The sun is really strong and it's common to get heat strokes if visiting during the day. Also, they're not really caves. It's more of a rocky spot with some small blowholes.
Alexandra J — Google review
Didn't see the rock features we had expected, not sure if it was because of low tide
Chee-Chiew L — Google review
Nice place , perfect weather freaking hot and windy. You can take public transport to reach here..
Nat C — Google review
This place deserves a visit. You will have a very nice and unique view. You can walk on the rocks and feel the breeze of the ocean. It's a good spot to take some pictures. There is a minimarket nearby and toilets. Very peaceful and beautiful. The place is also very clean!
Niccolò F — Google review
Beautiful place. It's actually water gushing in and out of rock which is circular and this makes sound. The view of sea is beautiful.

Weekday visit, not too crowded and natural form pond after typhoon was a plus to visit that day. Super cozy place and silent area. After visiting here we were having a coffee near the bay area in the convenient store with sea view. It was perfect!
Lyee I — Google review
This place was really beautiful and worth the trip to see, I thought that it was just a Rocky Mountain but I was so wrong. It really is one of PengHu’s most beautiful places. One of the locals told me that this place sometimes has not water. I was really lucky that it had water this time. The view from the bottom as awesome and the view from the hill top was so romantic. You get to see beautiful sea scenery and from the top view the little lake looks like a heart ~ so cute and so romantic! Definitely worth the trip.

Museum
Penghu Living Museum is a large modern museum that provides an excellent overview of the history, culture, and changing lifestyles of Penghu. Visitors can explore artifacts, scale models, and exhibits that showcase the island's people and their way of life. The museum also features an offshore fishing farm where visitors can learn about fishing techniques and experience net fishing at Inkai Island (Yuan Bei Wharf).
An excellent modern museum showcasing Penghu culture and the cultures and history of the region. It has an amazing large diorama of Wang-an island settlement and a great area for children to interact and learn. Great for English speaking visitors to get an insight into the history
Lucas H — Google review
Go to the ticket window to the right of the museum entrance to buy one or redeem a voucher (e.g., from Klook). Then you’ll have a physical ticket that the entrance staff will hole punch. I spent almost two hours here perusing the exhibits and learning about the history and culture of Penghu. The first floor is a series of interactive exhibits for kids and is only in Chinese, so I skipped over that. Floors two and three had a good portion of trilingual content (Chinese, English, and Japanese), but about half was only in Chinese. For unilingual items I was particularly curious about, I used Google Translate using my camera, which helped. I appreciated the creativity that Penghu residents have in making use of available materials to house, feed, and entertain themselves.
Tiff T — Google review
Come And visit on propose because of the famous siew yok 🤭. The ticket price is not cheap For tourist but free to local. TBH only the displays from the Taipei Palace catch my eyes while others displays i can tell they try very hard to demonstrate penghu culture... Good place to rest and enjoy the ac hiding from the sizzling weather in summer.

very informative and organised. The size of the museum is good, can easily spend 1.5 to 2 hours there. It's mostly in Chinese (roughly 70% of the content) so those who cannot read chinese might not find it enjoyable

Blessed Oyster Restaurant

Chinese restaurant
Blessed Oyster Restaurant is a recommended spot for seafood enthusiasts, particularly those who love oysters. The scallop over rice dish was surprisingly delightful, with well-balanced seasoning and a hint of spiciness. Their renowned "ua tsen" or oyster pancake stood out as the best in Taiwan. Freshly steamed oysters were also a highlight, boasting great flavor. Other dishes on the menu were equally impressive.
I love the oyster rice and steamed oyster. The oysters are so fresh and seasoned well. The squid rice noodle is so so. The hotate roll was a bit too salty. They have quite a lot seats and with AC room. Clean toilet. Fast serve. Cash only though.
Dino R — Google review
What can I say? Wow! This place is a must visit if you like seafood and especially oysters. I tried the scallop over rice which was surprisingly good. Perfectly seasoned and a bit spicy. The "ua tsen" or oyster pancake, was the best so far I've tried in Taiwan. The steamed oysters were fresh and tasted great. The rest of the dishes were great as well. Paid a total of 580NTD of everything in the pictures.

Lai Fu Seafood Restaurant is a delightful gem that showcases the best of classic seafood dishes, making it a must-visit for any seafood lover. Located in Penghu, this charming eatery offers an array of fresh options like shrimp and octopus, along with local favorites such as garlic clams and moon shrimp cakes. The experience begins right at the entrance where diners can select their desired catch from vibrant tanks filled with live seafood.
Amazing, simply amazing food that starts with us standing out front at the seafood tanks and chiller pointing out what we want and how it's cooked. Yummo!

The food is ok, but the bill is not clear, there is no menu, it depends on their own measurements only. Just need to ask the price for each dish before you order it.
Tracking G — Google review
A traditional Taiwanese restaurant with typical hot fried cuisine. All the dishes were excellent and the appetizer, fried peanuts covered with sugar, was special yet unexpectedly tasty. However, there were 2 main reasons that I can't give the place more stars. First, they didn't have menu in any kind. The ordering was to show you the all food materials, mostly seafood, in the fridge and then ask you to order from whatever you see and however you want it to be cooked. To be fair, this is a rather traditional way of ordering in a Taiwanese restaurant. But, the downside of it is also quite obvious. You don't know the price and can hardly control your budgets nor have a whole view of your meal. And, of course, it makes you forget to order specialty dishes. Second, the price was not very attempting, which combined with the first point can be really unpleasant. We, 5 native Taiwanese adults, had our meal and estimated it might cost us around 8 or 9 hundred NTD, cause we were quite full and didn't order much. Yet somehow, the bill climbed to more than 1300 NTD. So...... Be ware of how much each dish is.

Great seafood!!! The lobster is really fresh. All the dishes are with good quality. Price-wise is okay, not that cheap.

My favourite Seafood stall in Penghu! They are famous for their nuts and anchovies.... to die for! Yummylicious!

Fresh seafood for a great price! Good service attitude despite the busyness. Safer to make a reservation ahead of time

It was a good meal but prices are not displayed, not expensive though... the only terrible issue is that the staff were packing their products on our table while we were eating...

Ma Lu Yi

$$$$cheap
Taiwanese restaurant
If you're on the hunt for a cozy spot that serves up traditional pork dishes and homestyle cuisine, look no further than Ma Lu Yi. This informal eatery is a hidden gem in Penghu, where you can indulge in mouthwatering meals like their famous egg omelette—an experience that will leave you wondering how something so simple can taste so divine! Locals rave about the Taiwanese schnitzel and deep-fried chicken leg, both of which are must-tries.
Can't stress on how great the food is. The service may not be on point but the food makes it worth while. The portions are the right amount and the wait for the food meets expectations. For the non Chinese readers/speakers. Make sure you have pictures ready to show them when you order.
Bill L — Google review
Had a good lunch before leaving.

Not bad. Didn't hold high expectation but the pork chop and favor turns out to be quite good
Jinx — Google review
How can an egg omelette be so good? I don't know but you have to come here to discover it and I'm sure you will have the same feeling like me. For sure the best snack I had up to now in Taiwan and I live here since four years. Don't leave Penghu without visiting this place. I recommend to visit it everyday!
Niccolò F — Google review
This local restaurant is really popular in Peng-hu. This deep fried pork with rice is quite savory; especially, the meet is so crispy and rich. However, I think the cashier and staff members their service are so straight and impolite as if I owe them tons of money. And not only I complain their service, there are lots of customers mention about this.
CHIKAI ( — Google review
It’s okay. The food is reasonably priced and tastes alright. The service is mediocre. They are pretty quick about getting your food to you. My favorite dish from here is the oyster omelette. They take orders late into the night, so if everything better is closed or not taking orders still, this is a better option than McDonald’s or family mart.

Really good Taiwanese type of schnitzel and deep fried chicken leg, highly recommended to try.

Zhangjin Restaurant

Seafood restaurant
Zhangjin Restaurant is a spacious dining venue that caters primarily to larger groups, making it an ideal spot for family gatherings or celebrations. The menu offers a delightful array of small to medium-sized main dishes, showcasing local specialties like crab congee and drunk chicken. While the atmosphere is casual and unpretentious, the food truly shines with its freshness and rich flavors. Guests can enjoy a self-service beer fridge or choose from an extensive selection of spirits, including local rice wine and premium options like J.
Good place for family gathering. Food taste is average. This restaurant is specialized banquet style set course for five or more people. One of local favorites. Seafood price is seasonal. Normally October through February are on the high end, due to high ocean waves, 4 meters or higher, can easily capsize a mid size fishing boat. Mid size cuttlefish, water cooked, eat with dipping sauce, plain and simple (4 star) Sea cucumber, jelly fish, cuttlefish stuffed with egg yolk and fish roe, oyster mushroom. Cold dish. (3 star) Soft shell crab rice congee. November is the season for this kind of dish. Crab paste 蟹膏 is the best.(4 star) Water cooked shrimp, not prepared from live shrimp I believe, eat with dipping sauce. (3 star) Penghu melon with baby clam meat. Nice dish, crunchy. Taste far better than those Penghu melon served on Taiwan island. (5 star) Sea urchin scrambled egg, taste ok, nothing special. (2 star) Steamed sea bream, tasty, fresh (4 star) Stir fried fan shell meat, average (3 star) Sea sponge fish ball soup, delicious, do not know the correct English name on sea sponge, it belongs to seaweed family. (5 star) Deep fried cuttlefish nugget and pan fried red bride fish. Penghu is famous for cuttlefish ball. Red bride fish is very popular among the locals. must try dish when visiting the island. (5 star)

We visited this restaurant for lunch and had a great meal. The place is simple, not luxurious, but the food speaks for itself. We ordered the crab congee, which was rich and flavourful, and tried other local specialities such as drunk chicken and shrimps pancake. Everything was fresh and well-prepared. Service was efficient, though communication in English was limited. The atmosphere is casual, with a focus on the food rather than decor. It’s the kind of place where locals come for a satisfying meal, and we could see why. Prices were reasonable for the quality, and the portions were generous. If you’re in Magong and want authentic, well-cooked dishes, this is a great option.
Davide M — Google review
The dish cost around 180$ , fish was tiny. Owner was nice but food just soso. Won’t come again for sure.
Jess L — Google review
The food was so so, you can tell the ingredients were fresh, but there wasn’t much that stood out in terms of cooking technique or flavour. The biggest issue, though, was the smell inside the restaurant. As soon as I walked in, there was a strong, unpleasant odour, similar to a toilet. It seemed to be coming from the restroom, which is located right by the entrance and had its door left wide open. I actually had to close it myself to try to stop the smell from spreading, and also asked the staff to keep it shut, as every time someone went in, the smell came right out into the dining area. 份量少,價錢高,口味普通,環境差。 時蔬、鳳螺、川燙蝦10隻、紅新娘8隻、一碗海菜狗母魚丸湯,五道菜共 $2200,可自行斟酌。

Excellent really fresh seafood, direct out of the sea. Really well and simply cooked.

Reservation is highly recommended for the weekend. They were packed! Sea food was fresh. We ordered the mood sized uni for about $15 USD. There were about 10 big pieces. Fried rice and fried oyster rolls were good too.

It’s a large restaurant with big tables, and small/medium portioned main dishes - catering mostly to big groups. Tough to choose from so many options and only 2 of us to eat! The owner lady was very kind and knew some English, and had an English menu as well. She suggested some yummy dishes. You can grab your own giant beer out of the fridge, or you can try some shots or a bottle of a huge selection of spirits, ranging from local rice wine to J.Walker Blue. The stir fried garlic prawns were amazing, and the shrimp and egg fried rice was so good I wanted 2nds and 3rds. Price was good, and atmosphere was very quiet (although I imagine it’s different when the place is packed with groups).

The boiled radish, fish ball and meat balls was really tasty ( rather pricy) I had the famous sticky rice in intestine ( tasted average) and sausages ( really tasty but every expensive as it was small and rather thin) It’s a small open stall on the side of the road, so it gets rather hot when you eat their on the summer. I didn’t enjoy the music that they were playing it was very loud and noisy. The owner was not particularly friendly.

The food is high quality and tasty But, I've been there three times and have always been disappointed with the service. The portions are far too big and they won't let you share which leads to wasted food. The music is too loud and the lighting feels like a hospital.

BEWARE: more in the name than in the food Picture speaks for itself, barely any ingredient (dried scallops or fish), mainly just the omelette - might as well only order the omelette one. Funny enough they sell the scallops sauce thingy in pots, but not able to add sufficient amount for customers to taste. Will not go again Waiting time before 9 am is less than 5 minutes

This is thick type of Chinese pancake with churro egg. The special signature was the one with XO sauce its seafood strong flavor, I didn’t felt it worth the price. But overall still taste 👌 ok.
Kelly C — Google review
Freshly prepared 燒餅, super tasty when eaten on the spot- crunchy outside and fluffy inside. After a while in high humidity the crunchiness of course gets lost, but the fluffiness remains, and together with the interesting filling (looking at you, chili chive and Thai basil) it's palatable for a long time. Very busy in the mornings but efficient service.

It's so famous local breakfast shop in Peng-hu. The bread is a little bit hard but inside of bread is so soft. Besides, there are several ingredients that you can add into your bread. I highly recommend this shop to everyone if you are looking forward local breakfast.

What a find! best 燒餅 in Taiwan so far. Located in the foodies street of 文康街, you will soon find it for the ever present people having their snacks here. Do come here early as they do run out. Food: The dough freshly made, freshly baked, crispy crunchy edges yet retaining the moisture and fluffiness of a good bread. For three days in a row I had breakfast here. That's how good it is: Food: Any imaginable 燒餅 that you can imagine. Personal favorite is t basil egg. Supreme choice. Not too oily, eggs are fresh and full of flavour. Maybe it could have done with slightly pepper but the basil taste was strong, I also tried a simple double sided egg and its simplicity enhanced the taste. Ambience: as any of those 燒餅 don't be repulsed by its appearance. Tables are limited with just one table in the middle of the street, and two rows of tables across their counter and wall. Service: they remembered who I was and what was my ordered. Smiling, cheerful and efficient, those ladies know how to run the business. Cleanness: you can check out the cleaning as they do it outside of the shop.

The airport is known for its friendly staff and a range of free services at the help desk, including umbrellas, weather updates, and transportation arrangements. Despite being small and compact, the airport is well-maintained and provides a pleasant experience for visitors.
A great experience every time. From the parking lot attendant (extremely welcoming and friendly, opened the gate for me immediately and the cost is only NT20 per day for scooters or NT100 per day for cars. The Uni Air staff was extraordinarily friendly, accommodating, informative, and helpful with every request. There's a help desk which offers a staggering number of free services (free umbrellas if needed, weather and fight updates, arrangements for transportation, etc.). The security checkpoint is handled in a very professional manner, and very efficiently. The safety and security is outstanding, with triple checks of identity and boarding passes. Uni Air offers an APP which allows you to book and pay very conveniently online. As we took the bus to the plane, a man in a wheelchair was brought on. They really took great care of him. Tainan Airport (TNN)

Domestic airport
International airport
Regional airport
Tainan Airport, also known as Tainan Jichang, is the city's airport despite its limited flight options. While it currently doesn't offer international flights and has few domestic ones, it's a clean and friendly place. The airport was previously a military compound with F-16s taking off from there. Opposite the airport is a food factory that offers tours for a small fee, including pineapple cakes and interactive experiences to learn about their production process.
Quiet, mostly empty airport with two gates. I usually arrive hours early before all my flights, but there's really no need here. Not much to do or see or buy, but it's not the airport's fault, so I don't see a reason to rate it down. The staff at Uni Air was helpful and spoke great English. There were multiple people cleaning and spraying down the seating areas thoroughly, so that was really reassuring. Across the street is the Chimei Happiness Factory if you have no choice but to come early. I didn't go. Just hung out in the waiting area with a lot of comfortable/colorful seating.

This is a tiny airport with only one small building. It doesn't have a true gate. It's really just a door to buses that will take you to the plane. It's extremely clean, and incredibly easy to get through. You can see the back door (the gate) from the front door. As small as it is, it does have everything you need for food and cash. Someone would even sell you a tourism sim. Now it would have been perfect if I wasn't double scammed here. Someone put up a sign for chunghwa telecom in the center kiosk to sell tourism sim. I bought a 5 day sim thinking I'll have 5 days of unlimited data on chunghwa telecom network, except the sim wasn't even chunghwa telecom. It turned out to be something called Taiwan Star?!?! I wouldn't have found out if the network didn't refuse connection after 3.5 days. I did not even have internet to check into my return flight!! Luckily I did get a message about my delayed flight from the airline before it completely cut out. So I got a bait and switch card that only worked half way through. This is just sad.
