Daihonden is a Buddhist temple that was established in 1441, boasting verdant grounds and a fascinating hill called Reiko-zuka adorned with divine fox sculptures. Although it can be overwhelmingly congested during the New Year festivities when throngs of people converge to pray for blessings from the fox god, this shrine offers an enjoyable and uplifting experience. However, it's generally more peaceful at other times during the year.
Beautiful shrine a must see if your in Toyokawa.
Primo L — Google review
I wasn’t expecting it to be a temple! It’s a temple but it’s also for Inari, who is a Shinto god, and usually Inari has shrines. I prefer shrines to temples, but it was nice to go to another Inari site that is closer to me than Kyoto. I’d been trying to get there for over a year before I finally went. I’m glad I did, but I probably won’t go back. It’s a huge temple complex though, lots to see, and there’s a shrine with lots of fox statues around it.
Simone N — Google review
Let's go to the fox mound in the inner sanctuary! There are hundreds of mysterious fox statues. And don't forget to chant the mysterious incantation seven times when you visit.
K T — Google review
The most beautiful temple, serviced by the most friendly people. If you want to see masses of kitsune you should visit

Came here on new year day... my god it was packed full of people wishing for greatness from the fox god! Wholesome experience but really crowded, the place is pretty quiet during other time of the year though. Much fun! Only go if you're planning to pass by.

The Sakuragaoka Museum, situated near Toyokawa Inari with a convenient 5-minute stroll from the north side, is nestled within the expansive Sakuragaoka Park. With its serene and pleasant ambiance, this museum attracts visitors with a variety of captivating exhibitions. Notably, the works of renowned photographer Kimiko Nishimoto were recently displayed, showcasing her humorous and artistically stunning pieces.
(Translated by Google) I went to see the Toyokawa Naval Arsenal exhibition. This year's highlight is apparently the 20mm machine gun that was mounted on a Zero fighter. I'm very grateful that we were able to see such valuable materials from that time for free. I had no idea that Toyokawa City itself was originally founded as a munitions factory. The permanent exhibits of pottery and arrowheads were easy to understand and fun to look at.

The permanent art exhibition displays the works of local painters, and the permanent history exhibition displays everything from stone tools from the Paleolithic era to the ``Sea Beast Kabuto Mirror'' found in Morizuki No. 1 tomb and materials from the Toyokawa Naval Arsenal. The reason I came here this time was to see the special exhibition ``Let's have a look at the Ukiyo-e prints from the Sakuragaoka Museum collection!'' It has been said that the collection and deposits of ukiyo-e have been sorted out, and there are over 130 ukiyo-e related to the Tokaido near Toyohashi and Toyokawa! (Some overlap) It was very worth seeing. There was also an ukiyo-e that I had never seen before, so it was worth the visit. There was also a quiz on the observation points worksheet where you had to find out which characters Hiroshige drew had six toes, which was fun. I received a bookmark as a participation award. Approximately 15 minutes walk from JR Toyokawa Station or Meitetsu Toyokawa Inari Station. Closed on Mondays. Open from 9:00 to 17:00. Admission is free. (Translated by Google) I went to see the "Toyokawa Naval Arsenal Exhibition." The theme this time was "Toyokawa Naval Arsenal and Machine Guns," and there was a special exhibit featuring the "Type 99 20mm Machine Gun," which was made at the Toyokawa Naval Arsenal, which once stood here. Apparently, this machine gun was primarily produced here as the main armament for the A6M Zero carrier-based fighter. You can even see an inscription proving that it was actually made here. While memories of the former naval arsenal here are fading, this is perhaps irrefutable evidence of its existence. I also visited the permanent history exhibit, which showcases the history of Toyokawa City. While small, there were many interesting exhibits, including a pair of clay figurines (clay figures) of a man and a woman, sumo wrestler-shaped haniwa (clay figures), a mirror with a sea creature and grape motif, and a jar with a bird-shaped lid and base, all of which were quite disappointing. There were also exhibits related to the Toyokawa Naval Arsenal. There was a reconstructed model of the Toyokawa Naval Arsenal, and when you look at it, you're truly amazed at how large the former Toyokawa Naval Arsenal was! It's clear that the current Peace Park is just a small corner of the former naval arsenal. This Toyokawa Naval Arsenal exhibition is apparently held every year at this time, and I hope it will continue in the future to pass on the memory of the war to future generations. 2025.8.20

Gyogyo Land is a small aquarium that highlights over 100 different species and houses about 2000 animals. It offers an excellent opportunity for families and friends to enjoy the petting zoo, park, aquarium, picnics and food trucks. In addition to the free access to the aquarium, children can cool off in water fountains or play on big slides while pony rides are also available.
This location is perfect for bringing children to play while learning about animals. There’s an aquarium with various large fish, I was honestly amazed by them! There are also some cute farm animals that kids will really enjoy. What I especially love is that there’s no admission fee, yet the place is very clean and the animals are well taken care of. There’s also a garden area in the back. I visited at the end of summer, and I imagine this place would be even more beautiful in the fall or spring. Highly recommended for families looking for an educational and fun outing without spending a lot of money.

This is a lovely place in Toyokawa! The park has many things to see including an aquarium where visitors can see fish 🐠 from many places of Japan as well as fish from a few other countries. It also has a nice fountain ⛲ And many trials. At this park visitors can also see Sakura (Cherry Blossoms) and more. By the way, there is plenty of parking for cars, motorcycles and bicycles 🚲 I will try to post a few pictures as soon as I can.

(Translated by Google) Gosha Inari Shrine in Toyokawa City is a shrine that has been loved by locals for a long time. The grounds are not large, but they are well-maintained, and whenever you visit, you feel refreshed. I myself have been there many times since I was a child for New Year's visits and festivals, and I truly feel that it is an important place for the local people. It is not flashy enough to warrant a special visit as a tourist, but I think it is just right for those who want to pray quietly. If you stop by in the morning or evening, the air is especially clear and calming. This is a shrine that locals should visit at least once. The large torii gate caught my eye and I first visited, and even though I'm not a Kozakai resident, I now visit this shrine every year for the first time in the New Year. I remember once, while I was waiting in line on New Year's Day to pray, an old man who seemed to be a local said to me, "This is the first-ranked Inari, so it's more prestigious than the famous Toyokawa shrine, so that's why I came here." The lucky rakes, which used to be 500 yen and extremely reasonable compared to other shrines, have recently suddenly gone up in price. Although there is a difference in elevation up to the main hall, the steps are low and have sturdy handrails, so it seems easy to visit even for people with mobility issues. The road south of the shrine seems to be a shortcut, so there is a lot of traffic. The crosswalk is far from the parking lot, so it seems a bit inconvenient. The parking lot is located south of the shrine across the shortcut road, and when I visited, the Aichi Prefectural Police were using the space extensively to crack down on traffic. They didn't call out to the shrine when they left, so it seems like they use it quite frequently. However, even though there is no dividing white line, the sight of a police car parked in the middle of the parking lot as if it were parked on the shoulder of the road and policing the intersection while facing the intersection...it was a strange sight, and made it difficult to use the parking lot. I wish the prefectural police would be a bit more considerate, such as hiding a little more, or parking in a way that makes it seem like they are using the parking lot. It is difficult to tell where the parking lot ends and where the road ends, but if you are visiting by car, please do not park freely like the Aichi Prefectural Police do. Instead, as a matter of general etiquette, park in a way that makes it easy for other cars to park. Yoshida Castle Iron Turret, located in Toyohashi City, is a picturesque reminder of Japan's feudal past. The ruins of this 16th-century castle, once home to a feudal lord, feature a white-walled structure surrounded by a tranquil moat. Although the current building is a reconstruction, it exudes an undeniably authentic atmosphere. The site also includes an art museum and other cultural facilities within its symbolic park.

Lovely little castle. From the lawn, it's quite nice. The entrance is free, but the inner museum isn't very well kept. Maybe even a 100 yen entrance fee would help maintain it. Still, any original or rebuilt castle is worth a visit. Nice view of the river from the top.

The Mt. Zao Observation Platform offers a stunning 360-degree panoramic view of Tahara City, the Japanese Alps, and Mikawa Bay. Visitors can also spot Mt. Fuji on clear days. The observation deck is free to access and provides a romantic setting for watching sunsets. Additionally, there are wind power generation facilities that educate visitors about eco-energy. Located on top of a small hill. One of the most romantic sunset view you will get in Tahara. It’s usually windy here but waiting in the tower is quite comfortable. It’s a small place but at night there is a small stairway that glows in the dark with thousands of glittering stones. If you like nature and sunset this is a place for you. Looking at the sun dropping down the horizon of the pacific ocean, without many visitors around, listening to music box playing, and being away from the hustle and bustle of city. Only accessible by car.

Nestled right next to the iconic Toyokawa Inari Shrine, Yamahiko is a delightful little eatery that captures the essence of street food. Known for its sweet and spicy Inari sushi, this charming spot offers both boxed options and individual pieces perfect for enjoying on the go. The Original Inarizushi features a delectable sweet skin paired with just the right amount of tangy rice, making it an irresistible treat.

Tried the mixed sushi set. There’s a lot of rice. I’m a big fan of inari-sushi but I was quite disappointed. It didn’t taste bad but was not worth 950 yen. The wasabi one did not have much wasabi taste.

(Translated by Google) The store is right in front of the main gate, so even though it's a small store, it seems like it's often featured in the media, with photos posted all over the store☺️ After visiting the shrine, we used it for lunch and shelter from the rain that suddenly started falling. The space in the store is small, so the seats were pretty neat, but the warm tea and shimen noodles soaked my cold body✨ When you come here, you have to eat! And I also received Inari-san. One sushi bucket contains 7 small Inari statues. It has a lot of ingredients, but you can eat it all in one go☺️ (Original)

I had Inaho Inari Sushi, Mixed Inari Sushi, and Good Luck Fried Kishimen Noodles. The Inaho Inari Sushi came with seven mixed inari sushi pieces, including hijiki seaweed, shiitake mushrooms, carrots, walnuts, and bamboo shoots. The mixed inari sushi came with four mixed inari sushi pieces and three wasabi inari sushi pieces. The wasabi inari sushi was delicious, with the wasabi accent adding a touch of sweet fried tofu. The mixed inari sushi also had a reliable flavor, and I enjoyed the texture of the mixed ingredients. I think the prices are reasonable for a tourist destination. Among them, I decided to purchase some at "Monzen Soba Yamabiko," a particularly eye-catching restaurant located near the shrine's entrance. Boasting over 100 years of history, this restaurant continues to be beloved by locals. I ordered a mix of wasabi hijiki and regular inari sushi to go, and it was exceptionally delicious. The spiciness of the wasabi and the flavor of the hijiki were perfectly balanced, and the regular inari sushi also boasted a simple yet deep flavor. The History of Inari Sushi at Toyokawa Inari Shrine The origins of inari sushi date back to the early 19th century. It is said to have originated from fried tofu stuffed with rice offered to the Inari shrine. Inari sushi has long been sold in Toyokawa City, which prospered as a temple town for Toyokawa Inari Shrine, and has been a favorite among worshippers. It is said that inari sushi first appeared at Toyokawa Inari Shrine in the late Edo period. Toyokawa inari sushi is characterized by not only the simple combination of vinegared rice and fried tofu, but also a variety of creative inari sushi. There are about 50 inari sushi shops in Toyokawa City, each offering a unique flavor. It's fun to get a sense of history and tradition by tasting Toyokawa Inari's inari sushi. Yoshinoya, a popular beef bowl eatery, is conveniently situated at the Tomei Expressway Akatsuka Parking Area (inbound), alongside a Lawson convenience store. Known for its delectable gyudon dishes, Yoshinoya attracts frequent visitors, particularly those traveling to Toyohashi. If you're traveling from Okazaki to Toyohashi, this spot is essential. It sees heavy truck traffic in the early mornings and late nights. Parking is mainly for cars. It would be ideal if they offered showers, nap rooms, and a gas station. The presence of a 24-hour Lawson and Yoshinoya nearby is a great advantage.

I don't even know where to start. I'll begin with the noodles. Stone Cold. Most likely brought out the fridge and put to the side without a thought of heating up. Don't get me started about the egg that was RAW on the side. The only eddible thing on this dish was the beef which was luke warm at best, and even then it wasn't particularly jaw dropping for what's supposed to be Japanese cuisine. The least of which I expected was some cooked food, however, the chefs might've been playing tricks due to the language barrier. Would not reccomended: 1.5/10 (doesn't get much worse)

I love the momentary feeling of being Lone or away from the hustle and bustle of the city when you start to walk at the back of the museum towards the river. There were lights resembling lanterns installed at the foot of the approach to the shrine, and I imagine that in winter when the sun sets early, the lights might be lit during worship hours. (Translated by Google) I went to Nihon Retto Park in July 2025. First, a few things to note if you use Google Maps. The road from Route 23 to the park has a closed bridge. If coming from Nagoya, turn at the traffic light at Rinkai Park, two traffic lights away. There are signs leading to the parking lot. The parking lot is empty, with about eight cars, and many people taking a break in their cars. I think I saw only two people in the park...there are several rest areas, benches, and clean toilets. You can wander around in an hour. There are mullet jumping around in the river, so it might be fun if you're fishing. There's nothing special here, but I guess that's how it is in a park. (Translated by Google) 2025.06.02 First visit at lunchtime. A walk after dinner to work off my stomach. The directions on Google Maps were to go from Route 23 past Nihon Retto Park to the park parking lot, but the car navigation system did not pass in front of Nihon Retto Park and instead guided me to the parking lot in a big detour. I was wondering, but I followed the car navigation and arrived at the parking lot. Then I understood. There was no traffic from the parking lot to Nihon Retto Park. (Photo included) I'm glad I trusted the navigation system. Also, as others have written, Google Maps says the parking lot is closed, but that was not the case at all and I was able to park safely. I don't know where the map is for the park. I had no choice but to go around the perimeter. The benches with apples and king pieces were interesting. Takeout Restaurant
Matsuya is a unique inari sushi restaurant located near the entrance of Toyokawa Inari. The establishment offers a wide variety of inari sushi, including clam inari sushi and creative options like five-eyed inari, wasabi inari, and brown sugar inari. Customers can choose to dine in or take away their orders.
Their inari sushi is the best that I have ever had. I got a combination box as a takeaway while we walked along the street full of shops. By the time we walked back towards the temple, I needed to buy more! My favorite was the wasabi. The sushi was moist and flavorful. I would definitely visit again next time I was in the area.

It was the only restaurant open along the whole street on a Tuesday afternoon for lunch! So decided to have lunch on the 2nd floor. I find it quite pricey for few pieces of inari sushi (1800 yen) in which the filling was not that expensive...nothing to shout about.

It's a bit of an unusual dish, but the harmony of seaweed, thick fried tofu, green onions, and sauce, topped with a sprinkle of chili pepper...it was good👍. To be honest, my first impression was that I wanted a draft beer🍺 (lol). It takes a little time because it's grilled fresh to order, but it's worth it. It's easy to prepare with one hand, but it's also quite filling. I left the restaurant wanting to try the 🍺 next time. Each one is carefully made, beautiful to look at, and comes in a wide variety of flavors. Each one is particularly unique, with some mixed with hijiki seaweed and vegetables, and others topped with seaweed and wild vegetables. The classic sweet-flavored inari is also juicy and consistently delicious. The deep-fried tofu is soft and fluffy, with just the right amount of sweetness that matches perfectly with the rice. The relaxing interior of the restaurant allows you to enjoy the beautifully presented inari sushi on a wooden tray. It's easy to see why it's loved by locals as well as tourists. This is only my point of view and experience and may differ from everyone else but I did not have a good experience there with my family. For some reason, I think kids are not welcome there (even has a written warning outside that if you are with kids, entry may be not allowed) and the serving lady was cold and not polite. I mean we were just talking about drinks initially by looking at the menu and the lady came in and said "I heard you guys talking about drinks. so have you decided yet?". I was taken aback by this but ignored thinking may be I misunderstood the tone of Japanese language. But then we ordered food and food also came bland and without any toppings. I can see the pics uploaded by people in review and they have lettuce and atleast pickles or jalapeno with some salsa sauce but my beef taco was just yakiniku (roasted beef slices) and taco shell. The Piña colada was tasteless and after sometime, it did not feel that we should spend more there or were even welcome there. It's not like my kids were making noise or disturbing the whole atmosphere (though hardly any customer on Sunday evening) but it somehow felt that they did not want us there. The chicken sauté was good but overall, I would not go again or recommend it to anyone in my circle. Sorry to say that and I usually don't write negative reviews because i know how restaurant owners struggle and work hard to keep their customer base and good food but I really felt annoyed there after such a service and food.

The staff was very kind but the food was extremely bland, with the exception of the chili con carne that came on the side of the plate and the garlic rice. The guacamole had no lime/lemon in, and absolutely everything was lacking in salt. I understand that Japanese people may enjoy food with less spice than traditional Mexican food, but salt is a necessity for food to have any flavor at all. I don't think I've ever been so disappointed in Mexican food before.

It's a restaurant where Japanese people serve Mexican-style food for Japanese people, so it's probably popular with Japanese people. This time I visited for the first time looking for authentic Mexican tacos🌮, but it wasn't that good. All I was left with was something missing.

(Translated by Google) I visited on a Saturday night, and I was able to get in easily even without a reservation. There was a sign prohibiting preschoolers, so it might not be suitable for families with children. Dinner is a little pricey as there is a 10% surcharge on the menu. He strongly recommends Iberian pork, salad, and tacos, and puts a lot of effort into explaining them. I could feel that I would ask for this before I asked for it. The mole, a stew of chicken in chocolate sauce, was neither sweet nor salty, and had a strange taste with the bitterness of cacao and spice. It's interesting in the sense that you can't eat it anywhere else. The quantity of nachos is small and the cost performance may be poor. The squid risotto was delicious and good. It was a shame because it had a strong salt content and felt a little salty. Overall, it has a good atmosphere and is quite authentic Mexican, so it's good. 2 people It cost about 10,000 yen for stir-fried pork, salad, sausage, stir-fried chicken, nachos, squid risotto and banana juice, and a bottle of beer, even though it wasn't a full meal. Balance of taste and quantity I felt that the cost performance was relatively poor. Especially the salad. I was recommended to order this if I was going to eat tacos, but what came out was cabbage, corn, and a small amount of tomato, and I was a little concerned about the cost of nearly 1,000 yen. It was a good point that they served fruit at the end.

Kisoji is a delightful dining destination that offers an exquisite experience, perfect for those looking to indulge in seasonal delicacies. The service here is not only prompt but also incredibly warm, creating a welcoming atmosphere from the moment you step inside. With its elegant exterior and traditional Japanese attire worn by the staff, Kisoji exudes luxury without being overly pretentious. Guests can enjoy private rooms for a more intimate meal or opt for the inviting communal spaces.

(Translated by Google) Visited again after about a year. This time, I received a DM and ate the Matsutake Mushroom Gozen. I had a good impression that the DM clearly stated that the mushrooms were grown in China. There is no doubt that the product is made in China, but I really appreciate the policy of clearly indicating the country of origin to avoid misunderstandings. The most important thing is the taste, but both dishes were very delicious. I went home feeling satisfied that I had tasted matsutake mushrooms. (Previous review) I received the puffer fish course. The quality of service has improved compared to before, and the staff is also very friendly. However, the staff, who didn't look that old, seemed a little rustic when he stood up and said "Yokkoisho" every time he stood up, even though he was in front of a customer. The last time I used this service, I encountered a store employee who said "Good" in the same way, so I think this is something the store does not provide guidance to its employees about. Since this is a shop that offers something out of the ordinary at a high price, you shouldn't shout things like ``Yokkoisho'' and ``Yoisho'' in front of customers. The food was very delicious, and the speed and timing of the service, as well as the quick response to calls, were enough to pass the mark, but I dropped one star for "Yokkoisho." I would like you to stop acting so arrogant in front of customers. Ushinotaki, also known as the "Cow Waterfall," is a popular tourist spot with a well-maintained path leading to it. The parking lot offers ample space and there are restroom facilities available for visitors. Following a zigzag promenade from the parking lot leads to a vantage point for viewing the waterfall. However, access beyond an arbor at the bottom of Ushinotaki stairs is prohibited due to falling rock hazards.

Nestled in a serene landscape, Zaigaji Temple is a captivating destination that transports visitors away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Originally established at the behest of Emperor Shomu by Gyoki Bodhisattva, this sacred site experienced a revival thanks to Kobo Daishi Kukai. The temple is renowned for its stunning Kongorikishi statue and Niomon gate, which exude an aura of history and spirituality.
(Translated by Google) This Zaigaji Temple area is a different space, far removed from everyday life. The Kongorikishi statue, which is an important cultural property, the Niomon gate, the stone steps leading from there, and the main hall all give off a heavy and deep atmosphere. I visited in late autumn, right when the autumn leaves were in full bloom, and the deep, heavy atmosphere suddenly set me on fire, making me feel dizzy. No, I'm not exaggerating. Perhaps, after climbing up the stone steps and getting my blood pressure up a little, my senses become a little sharper when I'm exposed to the cold air... It was such a wonderful Zaigaji Temple. The Sanmon gate, Nio statue, and bell tower are individually reviewed. (Translated by Google) I went there because I heard that they were holding a spring festival on the last Sunday of March. This was Mr. Zaigaji's first visit since he visited the temple to pray for the success of junior high school students' entrance exams. It was my first time attending a spring festival, so I was wondering what it would be like, but the parking lot was far away... Even when I looked it up on Google, the parking lot was set up at a place where I had to walk 1.8km, and it was 1.8km uphill, with steep stairs, which made it quite difficult to visit with three children... If it's not the Spring Festival, there's a parking lot nearby, but during the Spring Festival it seems like there's a special parking lot, so I thought I'd never want to go to the Spring Festival again. Zaiga-ji itself is a nice temple with a great atmosphere, but it was just a bad day when I went there, so please come and check it out 😅 (Original)

When I first visited Nagoya around 9 years ago, I visited this area for the famous shrine and accidentally tried the crispy type of eel which is mesmerizing and i couldn't forget it for years. So this time I paid a visit again to this place to enjoy the eel again. I am not sure if this is the one I visited before, I only know this serves crispy eel also. The place is cozy, only 4 tables and each has 4 chairs. i can see most of the times all tables are occupied while customers keep coming and leaving . The menu is all in Japanese so I used Google translate. I understand most of the sets come with a dessert which I don't like. So I pick the one without it and it costs 3650 yen.. It comes with an eel rice bowl, a soup and appetizer. Again this is the eel that I am looking for and it tastes excellent. If I can request, I prefer the sauce is separate from the rice so I can control how much to use. Anyway, I enjoy this meal very much and I will visit again next time. Last but not least, the opening hours of this restaurant is short and be reminded to plan the visit carefully.

There were also a la carte options such as kabayaki, shirayaki, uzaku, unagi arai, and kimoyaki. I ordered the pine eel bowl for 2,850 yen, which came with three slices of eel on top of the rice, which was a generous portion considering the price. The exterior was crispy and fragrant, and the meat was melt-in-your-mouth tender—quite an impressive grilling experience. Hamburger restaurant
The Mos Burger restaurant provides tasty food with friendly employees and a considerate manager. During a typhoon night, when the shop had to close early, the manager allowed stranded individuals unable to travel home due to closed highways to stay in their parking area, which was secured and not easily flooded.
Food as in a Mosburger:) But very nice staff and extremely thoughtful manager. It was a typhoon night and the shop was closing early. The manager invited me and some other people who got stuck there unable to go home due to the highways being closed to traffic to stay at their parking. He made sure that the parking was safe and not prone to flooding.

One of the few remaining remains from Akasakajuku Some parts have been relocated and are not complete, but you can still get a feel for the atmosphere of the inn at the time. The information board reads —————————————————————- The Edo period name of Ohashiya was Katsuoya, and it operated as an inn where ordinary travelers could stay. The existing main house is thought to have been built after the great fire of Akasakajuku in Bunka 6 (1809). According to the floor plan left at Ohashiya, the main house, the auxiliary room, the inner room, and the storehouse were lined up on the site, which is typical of a post town with a narrow frontage and a long depth. In the latter part of the Edo period, ordinary people also began to go on trips to visit shrines and temples and for sightseeing, and it is believed that many travelers stayed at Koiya. It continued to be an inn even after the Meiji era, and was a regular lodging for the Isshinko, a lodging association that allowed travelers to stay with peace of mind. It also served as the residence of Emperor Meiji during his tour of the Tokai and Hokuriku regions in 1878. ————————————————————- The staff at the time gave me lots of advice, and I was very satisfied as I headed on to my next destination. The father, a volunteer guide, carefully guided us around and taught us many things that we couldn't understand unless we asked. At the time of renovation, it was lowered 1m back. Due to Toyokawa City's budget, the installation of the back garden was kept to a minimum. Until seven years ago, it operated as an inn for experience. Among them, there was a closed kindergarten in the back of the parking lot next to Ohashiya, and as the site used to be the Akasaka-juku magistrate's office, there is a possibility that it may be restored in the future. When it is restored, I think it will be combined with the beautiful pine forest with beautiful oils to create the atmosphere of a post station on the Tokaido at that time. There are many post stations on Nakasendo that still retain the atmosphere of the time, but I hope that they will recreate Japan's old artery, which is a little different from Nakasendo. Nestled along the historic Tokaido route, the Toyogawashi Goyunomatsunamiki Museum offers a charming glimpse into Japan's past. This quaint museum features a single exhibition room filled with fascinating artifacts from the Edo period, including a detailed diorama of Akasaka-shuku and panoramic photographs showcasing Goyu-juku over time. Visitors can admire ukiyo-e prints that celebrate the iconic pine trees of Goyu, although photography is not permitted inside.

A diorama depicting the state of Akasaka-shuku, a palace in the Edo period, is on display. In addition, there was a panoramic photo of the entire Goyu-juku taken in the early Showa period, and a panoramic photo taken in recent years from the same location by someone who appears to be a descendant of Goyu-juku (the photographer had the same surname). . Comparing the two, I found that there didn't seem to be any major changes, such as mountains disappearing or tower apartments being built. This means that the old, quiet townscape still remains. Scenic spot
西古瀬川の河津桜並木 is a picturesque row of Kawazu cherry blossom trees located in a residential area. The best time to visit is in March when the beautiful cherry blossoms are in full bloom. The riverside area, while well-maintained, can be quite overgrown, adding to its natural charm. This relatively quiet area with minimal traffic and sidewalks is perfect for a leisurely stroll.

The contrast between the pink of the cherry blossoms and the yellow of the rape blossoms was very nice. There is no parking lot, so I parked a little on the road in front of what was probably a field. There were a few people in the neighborhood, people walking their dogs, people taking pictures, and maybe because it was a public holiday and the flowers were in full bloom a little late. CoCo Ichibanya, a beloved curry chain, recently underwent renovations that enhanced its inviting atmosphere while maintaining the familiar layout of table and counter seating.

(Translated by Google) I've been curious about Ramen Yamaokaya every time I drive along Route 1, and this was my first visit. It was Sunday lunchtime, and about 80% of the seats were filled. I ordered the special miso ramen with a boiled egg topping, along with the weekend-only gyoza and rice from the digital ticket machine. The staff member asked me if I wanted a table or counter seat, and since I was alone, I chose the counter. For the ramen, you can choose the firmness of the noodles and the strength of the flavor, but since it was my first time, I went for standard. I'm not good at ordering specific details... The ramen and rice were served about five minutes after I sat down, and after a short pause, the gyoza were served. I started with the miso ramen soup, and it was delicious. The noodles were thick and chewy, and the crunchy green onions and diced pork were also delicious. The gyoza were, well... average, I guess... but they were even better when I sprinkled a generous amount of grated garlic from the counter on top.

Fast food restaurant
McDonald's, a renowned and well-established fast-food franchise recognized for its delectable hamburgers and crispy french fries, has achieved longevity in the industry. This classic eatery is distinguished by its impeccable cleanliness standards and the presence of friendly staff members who create a welcoming atmosphere. McDonald's caters to diverse tastes with an array of favorite snacks that satisfy cravings for both sweet and savory flavors.
Early in the morning, I will use the Otowa-Gamagōri Interchange to head towards Toyokawa. Its convenient drive-through feature is notable.

Seafood restaurant
I regret not knowing earlier about the seafood restaurant Blue Moment. Their buffet lunch, priced at 2,530 yen, offers a satisfying and abundant selection of dishes. While the overall food quality is decent, their dessert options are especially impressive and worth indulging in. The restaurant boasts a pleasant atmosphere with picturesque views, making it an ideal spot for both casual dining and cosplay enthusiasts alike.

(Translated by Google) It was my first time there. It felt like an Italian restaurant in a bustling port town. The meal consisted of a main course, an appetizer buffet, a dessert buffet, and free soft drinks. The main course and appetizers were delicious and my favorites. The desserts were generally quite sweet, so I wish they were a little more toned down. I ordered a cappuccino as part of the free drink menu, and it came with cute artwork, which I was thrilled about (^v^). It was delicious, and I think it was great value for money. Parking at the marina costs 500 yen per visit, but you get a discount if you dine there.
