Nestled in the picturesque Bedugul region of Bali, Ulun Danu Beratan Temple is a serene Hindu temple located on the shores of Lake Beratan. Surrounded by clear waters and lush gardens, this temple appears to float on the surface of the lake, offering stunning photo opportunities. Regarded as one of Bali's top temples, it provides a tranquil escape from the coastal crowds and boasts breathtaking views of the mountainous landscape.
Ulun Danu Beratan Temple is undoubtedly one of the most enchanting places in Bali, and visiting it was a truly unforgettable experience. Nestled on the shores of Lake Beratan in the cool highlands of Bedugul, the temple is surrounded by serene waters and misty mountains, giving it a magical and almost surreal charm. The moment we arrived, the foggy climate added an extra layer of beauty, making the entire scenery look like a painting come to life. One of the highlights of our visit was trying boating on the calm lake. Gliding across the water while seeing the temple beautifully reflected on the surface was simply superb. The peaceful ride gave us a unique perspective of the temple and its surroundings, something I would highly recommend to anyone visiting. The atmosphere was refreshing and soothing, far from the busy city life, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the tranquility of the place. We were so captivated by the beauty that we ended up taking around 400 pictures at this single location alone. Every corner seemed photogenic, and the shifting mist made each shot unique. Without doubt, Ulun Danu Beratan Temple stands out as one of my favorite locations in Bali, offering a perfect mix of culture, spirituality, and natural beauty.

Ahh, what a place Ulun Danu Temple is! 🌸 I feel a lot of people miss this spot since it’s about an hour’s ride from Ubud central and not overly hyped on Instagram. But believe me, it’s an absolute must-visit when in Bali. The drive itself is beautiful, and once you reach, the entire temple complex and grounds are just stunning. Everything feels serene and picture-perfect. Easy logistics – paid parking & smooth ticketing. Weather drama – it changes every few minutes! One moment it was bright and sunny, and the next it turned misty, foggy, and drizzly. Photography heaven – Balinese gates, lush landscapes, and the iconic temple floating on the lake make for unreal backdrops. There are also nice, reasonably priced restaurants inside the premises, and the washrooms are clean and well-maintained (paid). You can even rent Balinese outfits for a photoshoot — sadly I missed this due to the rain. I loved every bit of it. Tip: Go prepared for sudden weather shifts and give yourself enough time to just soak in the beauty. A must-visit, one of Bali’s gems.

The Ulun Danu Beratan Temple (also known as Pura Ulun Danu Bratan) is widely considered one of Bali's most beautiful and iconic landmarks. It is having stunning natural setting, spiritual significance, and picturesque architecture, though some also note its popularity as a tourist destination. Stunning Location and Scenery: The temple is set on the tranquil shores of Lake Bratan in the cool, misty Bedugul highlands. The multi-tiered shrines (meru) appear to be floating on the water's surface, especially when the lake level is high, making it one of the most photographed spots in Indonesia. Aesthetic and Photogenic: The combination of the temple, the lake's reflection, the lush manicured gardens, and the mountain backdrop creates a truly spectacular and "must-see" visual experience. It's often referred to as the "floating temple of Bali." Spiritual Significance: It is an important Hindu water temple dedicated to Dewi Danu, the goddess of water, rivers, and lakes, and plays a vital role in Bali's traditional *subak* irrigation system. Cooler Weather: Located about 1,200 meters above sea level, the area offers a refreshing break from the heat of the coastal regions. Accessibility: The grounds are generally well-maintained and easy for all types of visitors, including families and older travelers, to explore. Best Time to Visit: To avoid the crowds and the mist/fog that can roll in during the afternoon, it is highly recommended to visit early in the morning (around 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM). This also provides the best lighting for photos. Cash Only:Entrance fees and payments at many local stalls require cash. Boat Rides:For a unique view, visitors can take a traditional boat ride on Lake Beratan. The general consensus is that despite being a popular tourist spot, the sheer beauty of the temple's setting makes it absolutely worth visiting for anyone exploring central Bali.

Our visit to Ulun Danu Beratan Temple was truly a memorable experience. The temple's stunning location on the shores of Lake Beratan offers breathtaking views, especially with the misty mountains in the background. The architecture of the temple is intricate and beautifully preserved, reflecting Balinese culture and spirituality. Walking around the temple complex, I felt a sense of tranquility and reverence. The surrounding gardens are well-maintained and add to the peaceful atmosphere. While the area can get quite crowded, especially during peak hours, it didn’t detract from the overall beauty of the site. The staff was friendly and respectful, and I appreciated the opportunity to learn about the temple’s significance to local Balinese Hindus. One minor downside was the limited shade in some areas, so it’s best to visit early in the morning or later in the afternoon to avoid the heat. Overall, Ulun Danu Beratan is a must-visit destination in Bali, offering both cultural insight and stunning scenery. I would definitely recommend it to anyone exploring Bali's spiritual sites!

Ulun Danu Beratan Temple – A Serene and Picturesque Experience! Visited Ulun Danu Beratan Temple and it was an incredible experience! The temple is very ancient and showcases beautiful and impressive architecture. It’s one of the best places to relax both your mind and body. The temple is located right on the edge of Lake Beratan, surrounded by lots of blooming lotus flowers, which add to its charm. On the other side, mountains create a stunning backdrop, making the scenery absolutely breathtaking. There are also many other photogenic spots nearby with colorful flowers that are perfect for capturing memories. For families, there’s a small park where kids can enjoy themselves. A peaceful and scenic place that I highly recommend if you want to unwind and connect with nature!

This was one of most spectacular temple as well as picnic spot in Bali. I happened to visit this spot on a Monday 28th October 2025. One must be physically present to enjoy this sceneric place and no words are enough to describe it. For influences, INSTA activist this place is a must visit. The second largest lake of Bali is here with boating facility. The added attraction is availability of traditional wedding costume of Indonesian on hire with ideal scenic spots for capturing picture of your choice. Definitely many Europeans Australian couples are interested in this attire. Easily one would spend about 3 hours here. Clean Toilet facility is available on payment of IDR 2000. Entry fee for this spot is about 75000 IDR. It's definitely a place to visit in Bali. Luwak coffee available. You can take pictures carrying Luwak or tiny mules.

Everything they have told you about this temple is true. Totally make it a point to visit this temple when you are in Bali. Its so beautiful, it looks out of the world. They tell you to reach here before sunrise, do that. We reached in the evening and the only thing we thought was 'how much more beautiful it would have looked in the morning when the sun rays hit the temple." They have made a lot of photo points in the garden near the temple but they are nothing. The temple is the real beauty. There are restaurants and souvenir shops in the restaurant compound as well. They also have a setup where you can dress up in traditional Balinese clothes and get pictures clicked for a fees. when we reached the shops were closed but you should definitely try.

Nature & Parks
Gardens
Bali Botanical Garden, also known as Kebun Raya Eka Karya, is a vast 160-hectare garden featuring approximately 17,000 plants from Eastern Indonesia. It serves as an essential hub for research, conservation, education, and recreation. Visitors can explore the diverse flora while enjoying activities such as picnics, jogging, walking, and photography. The garden also houses a traditional Balinese-style guesthouse that accommodates visitors.
This park is wonderful, truly large and spacious, full of interesting species of plants, trees and animals, quiet, and tremendously beautiful. We've been here a couple of times as we live far south of Bali. Our 1.5-year-old puppy loves the park over the moon! It isn't a must-visit for everyone, as many tourists want to see this full-throttle essence of Bali, which this park is not. It is more about nature, peace, calmness, and sweet moments, such as sitting on the grass surrounded by gigantic trees and seeing mountains and a volcanic lake. But if you love parks, forests, views, picturesque spaces, cooler temperatures, fresh air, and long walks, this place is perfect for 2 hours or half a day. Amazing!

Spent 4 days hiking and birding the Gardens and Mt Tapak. A wonderful quiet place to walk and bird, both on the little-traveled roads and on the trails (some of which are quite overgrown). The best birding seemed to be in the southwest part of the BG near Panca Yadnya. From there to Pura Teratai Bang it is mostly native rainforest with small trails going off in various directions. Much of the rest of the Garden is covered in monoculture plantation with little undergrowth or wide lawns. Pretty, but not much wildlife. I also hiked the trail north of the Garden from the Lake View, as it showed as "forested area," but aside from maybe the first 500 yards it was overgrown plantation and pretty dull. The trail up to Mt Tapak from the BG goes through great forest but is very steep -- avoid on or after wet days. But even going up it a few hundred yards gets you into nice rainforest. Also try go midweek for less noise and traffic. Enjoy!

Beautiful park with lots of lovely scenery, highly recommend visiting. You can hire a bike, e-scooter or golf buggy to explore the massive park. Lots of places to sit, relax and enjoy a picnic. It was nice a cool high up In the mountain, which was a lovely break from the humidity and heat.

One of the best and natural botanical gardens in Indonesia. The ticket is quite cheap. We paid about 80k for 2 adults and 1 car. The view is stunning. Suitable for short healing and gathering with family or friends. Besides, they have the site to see the lake from above which gives the vibe of Switzerland when the sun shines. Will definitely come again

We visited the Bali Botanic Garden (Eka Karya) in Bedugul, a peaceful nature park surrounded by mountains and colorful flowers 🌸🌿 On the way there, we saw some monkeys sitting by the roadside — a common sight in Bedugul 🐒 Inside the garden, you can enjoy a speed boat ride on Lake Beratan — 15 minutes for 5 people, IDR 200,000 🚤 There are many beautiful photo spots like the Ulun Danu Beratan arch, swan statues, mini houses, and flower gardens 🌺 🎟️ Entrance fee: IDR 20,000 (weekday) / IDR 30,000 (weekend)

Used to be a 5 stars for me. I have visited this park many times. I love exploring the nature, the secluded temple, the nursery, grass fields, trees, moss path, etc. The weather is pleasant as it is located on higher ground. There are less or no crowds inside. The previous procedure was that cars were allowed to go in and we paid tickets for the humans and the car. July 2025 visit drops 4 stars for me:: 1. We came here during weekdays. During weekdays cars are not allowed inside the park, while it's allowed on the weekend. I would say the other way around should be implemented, if you want to implement this at all. There should be a significant less crowd on weekday. 2. So, on top of paying for ticket (which is also more expensive), you have to rent transport. Yes, you can go in by foot, but if you have visited this park before, walking wouldn't get you far because this place is huge. If you are fit and want to exercise, it's perfect, I think it would be good, no sarcasm. However, if you want to have a relaxing day, physically less able to, bring young kids, elderly, this is not an option, unless you just hang around nearby. You have to have transport, this brings me to point number 3. 3. You can rent bicycle/electric bike (30-75k/hour depending on types), or bus (25k pp one route) or golf car (250k max 4 people per hour). See pictures. So, if you have physical limitation, you can only go with golf car or bus. The bus only serves one route which you can choose. This means one destination and back, that's all. If you know this place, this is utterly ridiculous and overpriced. There are many spots to visit but there is no option to drop by or do multi-route. You want to visit another spot? Go back to the start and buy another bus ticket. Since we brought elderly and guest and wanted to visit multiple place, we had no choice but to rent a golf car which is ridiculously expensive as well because one hour barely covers anything here. The safety standard was also horrible, we got the one without handle at the rear which we only realized after we saw the others. The terrain is up and down, one can easily fall down on slope. We ended up only visit two spots that were next to each other and we had to rush it. We had to grab the side bars like monkeys. No joke, I don't think this is safe when the terrain is up. I was very worried for my mom's safety since we were sitting on the back. 4. I'm all for conservation and dedication to the park, but with all the cost that make this place very expensive now in proportion to the standard, there is barely any facilities or improvement. There are many holes on the road, lack of restroom facilities inside. The is NO emergency procedure which should be much more important now since we barely see anyone inside because of the inaccessibility. There is no map and we couldn't find some spots even though we are regular. We used to take our time to visit them, now by getting lost once or twice, the time was up. If they want to make this place more natural, less cars (wasn't a problem previously because the place is huge), there should be shuttle that go around the spots and they shouldn't charge by route, but it should be unlimited because that would be the only way for guests to visit all the spots they want. I think this would make it less natural compared to few cars in between here and there. So everything doesn't make sense to me for now. Will I come again? No. It has become just a money grabbing place, which is a pity because I have loved this place. If you bring family with different level of fitness, just go somewhere else. Yes, there are nice spots, probably walkable for all, but it's not worth the ticket. If you want to have a natural walk, that is probably the only thing reasonable and I can imagine it would be fun, but be mindful of the lack of facilities as mentioned. If you want to visit multiple spots and enjoy them in leisure like the logical purpose of visiting a botanical garden, forget it.

We visited on the weekend. The ticket was IDR 51k for two adults, plus a parking fee of IDR 10k for our motorcycle. We absolutely love this place because we enjoy walking! It’s huge, and since we arrived a bit late, we couldn’t explore much. We just did a small loop and visited the cactus glass house, which was so beautiful. One thing I wish they’d regulate is loud music. People come here for nature and the sound of birds chirping—not to hear blasting tunes, lol. Overall, we really enjoyed our time here!🌿🌿🌿

Twin Lake View offers a stunning panoramic view of the Tamblingan and Bayan lakes. Visitors can interact with locals showcasing bats, iguanas, and even a snake. It's recommended to give a small donation if you take photos of the wildlife. Additionally, there's a vendor selling delicious cashew nuts for Rp25k per packet. The area is surrounded by other picturesque spots along the lake where visitors can stop by for photo opportunities.
The view from above is breathtaking. With two lakes and mist of jungle all around. The lakes offer canoeing which was fun to do…tiring but worth it with good company. The weather was also very friendly during my visit so had a great time.

Great viewpoint for photos! Unfortunately, when we went there was a lot of fog, but it came and went quickly so we still managed to take some nice shots. The platform is elevated with a pretty shaky little ladder, so be careful climbing up, we almost slipped. Otherwise, it’s a cool spot.

An interesting spot to stop for a short break and to take some photos with this stunning landscape. There is also a guy with his exotic animals he is displaying to take photos with. If you are lucky you will see some grey monkeys, too.

Very difficult drive up, but 100% is worth it. Went here once before and on my second trip went up again. I plan some time there because you have to get lucky with the clouds as they cover the scenic view. However, it's pretty fun to get embraced by the passing clouds as well! I only caught the view for 5 minutes before the clouds came 😅 it was really cold as well heheh

Good and free view of Twin Lakes. However, the locals set up a zoo and the animals are sedated for your entertainment. We saw bats, an iguana and a snake that did not belong there. Don't take pictures with the animals and don't pay a dime to the locals.

Waterfalls
Banyumala Waterfall is a popular destination for photographers, featuring a split waterfall cascading over rocks into a jungle pool. Located in the hills of Wanagiri, just 10 minutes north of Bedugul, this stunning sight is accessible without a local guide. While there are some slippery steps and a short trek to reach the base, the experience is well worth it. The waterfall's unique feature includes two flows of water plunging down steep rocks amidst lush greenery.
One of the best waterfalls I experienced while in Bali. It’s absolutely worth the journey if you have the time. The lush greenery surrounding the falls are breathtaking, and the cascading water creates a serene, picture-perfect scene. I’d recommend visiting in the morning before the crowds build up — it’s a peaceful spot early on. The swimming area at the base of the falls is popular, so bring your swimmers and enjoy a dip in the cool natural pool. There are several great photo spots along the path and near the bridge that perfectly frame the twin streams. The hike down is manageable but can get slippery, so good footwear is a must. Easily one of the most photogenic and memorable spots in Bali.
John W — Google review
Banyumala is honestly one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Bali. Surrounded by lush greenery, the twin streams of water cascading down the rocks create such a magical view — you can even spot a rainbow at the base on sunny days. The natural pool at the bottom is crystal clear and perfect for a refreshing swim after the short trek down. The walk can be a little steep, but it’s totally worth it once you see the waterfall. It feels peaceful and less crowded compared to other waterfalls, so you really get to enjoy the natural beauty without too much noise. Definitely a must-visit spot if you’re exploring North Bali!
Dwi L — Google review
Of all the waterfalls I’ve visited in Bali, this one is an absolute must-visit! I was truly impressed by its natural beauty — the entire trail leading to the waterfall remains lush and untouched. The local community still preserves their Balinese traditions and, most importantly, they don’t exploit nature — the area feels pure and authentic. Another thing I really appreciate is that there’s no sign of aggressive local “management” like in some other tourist spots. Everything here is well-organized with clear, fixed ticket prices: IDR 50,000 for international visitors and IDR 25,000 for locals, which even includes a bottle of water. No local guide is required unless you want one. There are plenty of small warungs, toilets, and even motorbike taxis nearby for convenience. What I love most is that it’s not overcrowded, so you can truly enjoy the serenity of the place. I recommend wearing shoes, as the path can be quite slippery and winding. Will be back soon w my drone!
Balidronelady — Google review
🌿 Banyumala Waterfall – Hidden Gem in Nature 🌿 Absolutely stunning waterfall! The water cascades down like rain, creating a magical and soothing atmosphere. It's not very crowded, which makes it a peaceful and refreshing experience. Getting there involves a bit of trekking – you need to go down a steep path, so make sure you're physically fit. It’s totally worth it, but caution is a must. 💧 Be prepared – it can rain heavily at any time, so carrying an umbrella or raincoat is highly recommended. The area can become slippery, and the water level may rise suddenly, so always take precautions. There’s only one small changing room at the bottom and a single shed for shelter, so plan accordingly. If you're looking for raw natural beauty and a little adventure, Banyumala is a must-visit. Just be safe and respect nature's power. 🌧️🌿✨

Beautiful waterfall probably my favorite one i saw in Bali, very gorgeous spot! And the people working here are very nice and so helpful! I lost my drone in the trees by accident and two of the workers hiked out with me and walked down the side of a cliff to get it back for me & they were able to find it! So awesome of them and so helpful! I gave them a tip of whatever money i had on me but they deserved even more!! Thank you so much for your help🩵🩵

Munduk Farm House offers an exceptional experience with outstanding food, service, and breathtaking views. The dining area provides epic views down the valley all the way across Buleleng to Singaraja. The staff is attentive, providing blankets when needed and ensuring a pleasant experience. The food is delicious and surprisingly international-oriented, using fresh ingredients from local farms in Gobleg. The accommodation exudes tradition and charm, making for a unique and memorable stay.
I will definitely visit here again! The rooms are very cozy and include the basic amenities (coffee, tea, water, shampoo, body wash, toothbrush & toothpaste). The beds are very comfortable with many pillows & they offer extra blankets, for the colder nights. The views are stunning (especially sunset)! The restaurant is a special treat! We are at the restaurant a few months ago and decided to come back & stay a night. Everyone loved the food here. Because this place is also a small farm, all the ingredients are fresh. You can also request your meals to be delivered to your room. They have many vegan options that were fabulous. I have had the vegetable curry, pumpkin soup, fried noodles with vegetables & tempe skewers. The potion sizes are very generous & the prices are reasonable. Even if you don't stay here, you should try the restaurant if you are in this area!

What a beautiful place! The rooms are clean and tidy. The service is top notch, staff are very friendly and helpful, made our stay 100 times better. The place and service was amazing since the moment we arrived. They gave us a welcome drink, perfect after the trip. They have 2 restaurants, the menu was big, with a lot of options and the meals were delicious, very tasty and big. They breakfast was included (with different options) and it was also very good and big. Everything was clean and smelled good and is better than what the page described. The place is good located and it has a beautiful and unique view to the mountains The best part? The team. Ima, Kris, Nanta and the rest of girls and boys were great all the time, they helped us with everything we needed, always with a smile. They recommended us places to visit, and also helped us getting the rental of a scooter and also transport to come back to Ubud. They gave us the best and unforgettable experience!

Great place, though be aware of a few things here. This should be a 5 star. Even though we only stayed one night, we had a lovely time here. Great staff who are really helpful. The new bar is great, with a good range of cocktails, mocktails and other drinks. In order to make this 5 star I'd highly recommend to jetwash the floors. Most floors around this property are really slippery. The rooms are a little moldy, so much so true toilet paper was moldy and the rack had mold on it. These two points could also be a big safety concern for some people. If the management are able to sort out the mold and slippery floors I'd highly recommend this place.

Came for lunch at the restaurant and were so impressed! The food was incredible and so fresh & clean. Endless vegan options and a great mixture of Indonesian and western food. The view is also breathtaking! Couldn’t recommend this place more for a beautiful, peaceful meal. We will absolutely be back.

"The Botanist" is a charming farm-to-table restaurant with a wide and clear view, located on the side of a hill. The atmosphere is relaxing and inspiring, making it a perfect place to chill with friends or find some inspiration. The menu offers delicious organic dishes such as mezza platter, pesto pasta, cajun chicken burger, nut bar, chocolate, golden milk, and exquisite bread. The staff are friendly and will explain everything to you.
Outstanding food and coffee. The menu is interesting, healthy and varied. The driveway to enter is a bit steep so I messaged to ask if there was parking. I got an instant response and was met on the driveway by a staff member to help me park my rental car.. There are steps with no handrail to get down to the restaurant but not too bad. Views are spectacular and it's really peaceful up in the trees. We had a little rest on one of the daybeds before going on our way. Only wish we were staying longer and could come back.

Best café I went to in Bali! The view is simply breathtaking, I’ve loved spending the afternoon here relaxing in one of the nests. It felt like a dream. The smoothie bowl and coffee were great, only thing that looked better (and bigger) on the menu than in reality was the banana bread, which was still good.

What a cosy hangout! Spent a few hours here and relaxed today after trekking. The Vegan pasta gf pesto dish was lovely (added sauté mushrooms too). And loved the Cucumber Sparkling drink 😊 Absolutely loved the spicy Cacao and the Passion Truffle Ball was incredible ( best ive had to date!). Enjoyed the mix of oracle cards too to dive into 🙏💕

Day 2

South side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the south side side of town. Start the day off with Air Terjun Munduk, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Warung Heaven Munduk. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Air Terjun Munduk

Air Terjun Munduk, also known as Tanah Barak Waterfall, is a picturesque plunge waterfall nestled in lush rainforest surroundings. A short, steep path leads to this gem, which is located just a 5-minute drive from Munduk. While the water may not be deep enough for swimming, the beauty of the waterfall and its easy accessibility make it a worthwhile visit.
Lovely waterfall. Cost 20,000 to go down to the waterfall. Is well worth it. The restaurant serves nice food as well.

Beautiful waterfall that you reach after a 15 minute walk from the nice restaurant on the corner. Entrance is requested. Also special are the beautiful plants and large spiders that you see here

We didn’t go all the way down, but the view from the café is free and already impressive! It’s a very picturesque waterfall. 📸 Be aware: many photos online are of the wrong waterfall! These are real photos of Munduk. 🅿️ Parking is available for your vehicle. 🌊 The view might remind you of Sekumpul Waterfall!

It's worth visiting on the way to Ubud from Pemuteran. There were quite a few stairs but anyone can climb down.

The waterfall was nice the stairs down and up was a workout, had muscle sores the next day. Also had a really cute puppy which is a plus.

It’s a really beautiful place!! I would say I recommend to go at least once if you are in Bali!! The only thing sometimes can be really crowded!!
Daniel C — Google review
This hike around the 4 famed waterfalls is definitely not for the faint of heart. Although the hike is a little over 2 km , rest assured the time taken is much more than you would expect. If you were to start off at melanting waterfall, the upslope that you'd have to conquer is indescribable. There's always the option to start from golden valley waterfall and it's pretty much going downwards. It's equally challenging as you would require all your quad muscles to make sure you don't slip. I would highly recommend that you practice some climbing before attempting this hike. But once you've arrived at the waterfalls, all your fatigue will just melt away. Do be prepared to spend some time there. The only waterfalls that I had to pay for, were at Labuhan Kebo (20k) and red coral (45k). Do bring some swimwear if you'd gonna be dipping in the water. A word of caution is not to wear slippers for the hike. Even on a non rainy day , some steps were slippery. Will be back again to challenge myself another day!
Adrian G — Google review
A gem, always lush, cool, and moist, having water even in the middle of the dry season. The place charges 20 000 small fee for the entry, free for kids. It has many steps and is not wheelchair accessible.

The Northview Bali - Ngiring Ngewedang Restaurant & Coffee Corner offers an open dining area with stunning views of the surrounding hills and valleys, making it a perfect spot to catch a sunset in Munduk. The venue is well-kept with artful furniture and clean bathrooms. While the food prices are higher than average, the quality of Balinese coffee and selection of food make it worth the visit.
The hidden gem best look out view to the North coast of Bali. Greta selection on the menu at reasonable prices.

Great place for brunch with a view. Had a few main meals and desserts with friends. The staff were lovely, yet the taste of the foods seem to be tailored more for tourists. They weren’t as tasty as usual Indonesian cuisine which has lots of spices. For a better taste, we asked for more salt and chili.
Putri A — Google review
Restaurant with good ambience and great view (when it’s not foggy). But there’s nothing special about this place. The foods are less than satisfactory. It doesn’t taste great for a restaurant quality. But the most peculiar part is the service and the staff. They’re so pushy and not communicating well with each other. 3 different servers asked our table within the same <10 minutes if we’re ready to order, tho we were just seated and had to check the menu. Payment process is odd, somehow we were asked to pay at the cashier tho other tables could pay at the table. I’m not fussy, but consistency is the key in maintaining good hospitality and customer service. In a nutshell, it’s a pretentious restaurant with unsatisfying standard.
Caroline F — Google review
This place is absolutely amazing!!! The views are absolutely breathtaking!!! It is easy to get to in a car, and we stopped off here for a late lunch. You can park here for a very small fee, and you will be given a warm and friendly greeting. This place has very friendly and knowledgeable staff, and I can't fault the impeccable service. The menu had a wide selection to choose and is very reasonably priced. I ordered a duck dish, which was absolutely incredible, but there was also a good range of coffee's teas and pastries available, as well as vegan, vegetarian, and halal. I highly recommend this place for any ages and food tastes.
DODO D — Google review
Food was nice but somewhat overpriced. Paid 500k rupiahs for one burger, one duck, and two drinks. They add 21% on top of the price you see on the menu. I guess it would be a great place to stop if the weather is very clear as it's high up and you can see everything (if clear). Weather wasn't amazing for us. I wouldn't go back.
Luana S — Google review
What an amazing place. The cloud was low so the view was obscured and it was cool. The staff were fantastic, attentive and very friendly. They also looked wonderful in their uniforms. Now the food was really good, the crispy duck, spring rolls, Nasi Goreng Ayam, mango last, everything really was great. This is a must visit and we made sure to take our driver Putu into this restaurant to join us in this experience. Thank you team.

Very impressive selection of food and superb views of the surrounding hills and valleys. The prices are higher than average but are good value in terms of the quality of food and service. Service charges are included at 10% and it’s worth sitting near the railings to soak up the breathtaking views all around.

Mades Warung is a popular chain of Balinese restaurants which offers authentic food. Some customers rave about the beef rendang, while others recommend trying the nasi campur and nasi goreng. Warung Made's Munduk is especially recommended for those visiting Munduk, as the owners are friendly and the food is great.
We came here because of the high rating and we weren’t disappointed. Delicious authentic freshly prepared food, tasted like a home-cooked meal and the service was great.

It was that good, that we went to Warung Made’s in Munduk twice in a row! The food was delicious, and the owner along with the entire kitchen team were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The terrace offers a beautiful, relaxing view, perfect for enjoying the meal. We also saw a group taking a cooking class, which looked amazing (if we had known about it earlier, we would have booked one too). We highly recommend this place, and a big thank you!

The best place we ate in Munduk. We had food here twice on 2 different days and will gladly come back again. The food is very tasty. The owner accommodated for our vegetarian needs and the food was excellent. The atmosphere is very relaxing and the price was very good. They also offer cooking classes which unfortunately we could not attend. A must stop if you are in Munduk.

My boyfriend and I did their cooking class earlier today. WOW! We were blown away by how wonderful it was. Before we arrived we chose what we wanted to make from their menu. When we got their today they had printed out the recipes ready to go and prepared ALL of the ingredients. Our teacher (the chef of the restaurant) was AMAZING. She was so good at explaining everything and taking us through each dish step by step. We even got to cook in the restaurants with the most amazing view in front of us. Then we sat down to enjoy the delicious food. It was so cheap and such good value for money. Make sure you do this if you come! We loved it. One of our favourite experiences so far. Thank you so much guys - we will be back ❤️

We enjoyed our stay here very much. The rooms were spacious with a lovely balcony and a half outdoor bathroom. There are fans in the room, along with a water boiler for tea and a small amount of complementary water. The restaurant was simple but homemade and tasty. Beautiful room, cleanest and spacious saloon. Nice bathroom little bit open in one side with flowers and smart decoration, with all the amenities for use (brush, towels, toothpaste) They will offer coffee and tea in your room any time. You can refill your water bottle in the kitchen. The meals are delicious, the breakfast included with coffee, fruit and pancakes or omelette with jam and butter toast. The dinner also was really tasty and good amount of them. Because of rain some drops fallen down in our bed but the staff was really kind for offering us another room. It was a really nice action from them. If you need a taxi driver also they have good local people Thank you so much for all ! I should recommend that place! Ps. The views from the room are the best!

Gorgeous hotel with clean rooms, wonderful terrace with grand view over the valley at the restaurant, lovely owners and great personnel. We thoroughly enjoyed the cooking course by Adila, where we learned to cook egg rolls, nasi goreng, satay, peanut sauce and a dessert the Indonesian way, but in such a way that I could easily replicate this at home. Adila is an absolutely wonderful lady.

We had an awesome two-night stay here and wished we had stayed another. Adila and Putu and the rest of the staff were phenomenal. How they remember every guest’s names I don’t know. The rooms were clean and had wonderfully peaceful views of the surrounding mountains and greenery. We ate all but one meal here and there were a number of vegan options available. We couldn’t have had a better time - this was such a peaceful and carefree stay, we’d go back in a heartbeat. Wow, what a lovely 2 nights we spent here, thanks in no small part to the owners, Adila and Putu, and also the other staff. Our room was clean and functional. It was so good to have a warung (retaurant) on the grounds. The food and drinks for breakfast, lunch and dinner were delicious. The views from the room's verandah and the warung are beautiful. An added bonus is the path behind the premises that leads to 5 waterfalls, including Red Coral Waterfall. Google says it should take by road a 28 minute walk, but by the path is 15 minutes. Thanks for Adila Warung & Homestay making our stay in Munduk a memorable one.

We enjoyed every moment here!😄 The accommodation is located in a very quiet and relaxed spot in the mountains. From the terrace you have a wonderful panoramic view of the mountains and can watch the beautiful sunset. The jungle is right next to the accommodation and you can explore some beautiful waterfalls on foot. The room was clean and cosy. The whole team is super friendly and welcoming and helped us organise some tours. We highly recommended a guided jungle/lake hike and the cooking class directly at the accommodation. A highlight is Swis Kadet, the driver of the hotel🤠 The food was very tasty and there was plenty of choice. All in all, it was our best stay in Bali and we look forward to coming back one day ☺️

One of the hidden gems I have found in Bali, i say found because is not easy to find it, but once you do you will see why is so worth to try. Superb discovery close to Munduk ! We were supposed to go to Munduk Waterfall but we took a lunch break in this tiny place and it was awesome. We were so surprised by the quality of the meal and, please, the view !!! OMG, you’ll never find anything like this. We ate in front of the golden valley waterfall, it was magical. You should visit this place during your trip to munduk, you’ll not regret it. Just have to be courageous (just a little bit) and do the trek down to the restaurant. Thanks again for your warm welcome, it was delicious !

Had to hike down for a little while, might be little challenging for some people who never went on a hike but it’ll be worth it once you reach and get a nice view of the waterfall and get some nice coffee and food. Wouldn’t recommend this to the elderly and people bringing infants though, but if you’re looking for a nice little hike down to a waterfall cafe then this is the place to go. The food overall was good and the price is standard.

Great find of a coffee shop, spectacular view overlooking the waterfall. They specialize in kopi lewak (prepared as Indonesian/Balinese kopi tubruk), and make a point of harvesting coffee beans from droppings of the civet cats that live wild in the area, unlike some other producers that unfortunately use caged animals. Their herbal teas and fresh juices are also extremely good, as are the various local snacks on offer (we tried their lak-lak and dadar, both of which were fantastic). They also have coffee beans and various spices for sale, at competitive prices. The shop is accessible by a short (5-10 minute) walk from the main road, but we stumbled upon it as part of our exploration on foot of the waterfalls, and it provided a welcome respite from our hike. Tempat kopi bagus sekali, kopi lewak di sini dari kopi yang tumbuh di daerah pengunungan sekitar cafe ini. Lak2, dadar, jus buah, dll enak sekali.

Must visit a peaceful temple. Unfortunately, only locals allowed to see dirty, visitors are allowed around temple which has great views. Add it to your Bali - Ubud list.

Entry costs 75,000 IRD per person. A temple with beautiful landscaping along a lake. It's suitable for children and has plenty of parks. There's a small lake within the temple. You can feed the fish by paying 20,000 IRD and buying bait before entering.

A wonderful secluded place. There are almost no tourists here. Fishermen sit on the shore of the lake.

February 2022: Entrance fee 75 000, moto parking fee 3000. One of the nicest places in Bali. It was pretty busy by indonesiam tourists but so peaceful at the same time. No annoying pushy sellers. So refreshing. There are some restaurants and stores if you want to get a drink/food. Also loads of greenery where you can do a little picnic. Big and calm place. Beautiful mountain views. Visiting bathroom costs another 2000. If you come from the south dont forget some warmer clothes, it's quite chilly up there.

One of the best Hindu temple complex at lake side gives you a pleasant feeling. A very good garden maintained and scenic background of lake generally a cloudy weather as it is at height from mean sea level a top of hill giving always a hill station climate the temples are slightly in different style than other Balli temples gives us a lovely landscape

A photogenic temple is floating on the lake. One of the best tourist spots in Bali. The trip could be combined between Singaraja and this temple where both of them should you visit during a holiday in Bali 👍👍👍

This is a quiet temple located beside lake Buyan. Must more quiet & less tourists than Beratan Temple. View was very good beside the lake & it is a small temple. Worth a visit if you are on your way from Beratan Temple to Munduk or vice versa. There is no entrance fee required though.

Lookouts
Twin Lake, located in Bali, is a stunning destination that connects Danau Tamblingan and Danau Buyan through a picturesque trail. The area is relatively untouched, offering hikers a peaceful experience surrounded by lush forests and serene lakeside paths. While it's not heavily frequented by hikers, the beautiful scenery has attracted attention from wedding photographers seeking the perfect backdrop. Driving to Munduk from Ubud provides an opportunity to marvel at the breathtaking views of Twin Lakes.
It's a bit out of the way but the view is amazing. There's a nice little restaurant that you can eat or drink at while enjoying the mountains and lakes. If you motorcycle up to the view, be careful of the couple of twists in the road and the monkeys that hang out on the side of the road.

When we visited this spot (June 2025), it seemed abandoned. The deck, the 'nest', 'love' are dilapidated, no staff around. We took some lovely pictures here but it doesn't feel safe. It's a shame because the view of the two lakes is fantastic from this spot.

This place gives you good view of wanagiri hills and lake and there are various picture points where you can get your picture clicked with swing and other arches. Price per person may be upto 1.00.000 IDR

Really recommend to stop and make some nice pictures. Ticket for person is 25K, which is good price, because in another place, like 100 meters from here we were asked from 100K to 250K for person! Swings are included in ticket price! So really better chiose this place and you will see how beautiful and lovely staff is in here ☺️

Hindu temple
Pura Ulun Danu Tamblingan is a serene and remote temple located in the Munduk and Lovina areas. It is surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty, with views of the tranquil lake and lush greenery. The temple is dedicated to Saraswati and offers a peaceful atmosphere for visitors to immerse themselves in. Accessible via stairs, the journey to the temple provides an opportunity to enjoy the cool air and scenic surroundings.
🌅🌳 Pura Ulun Danu Tamblingan - Serenity by the Lakes 🕉️🍃 Nestled in the embrace of nature, Pura Ulun Danu Tamblingan reveals a small temple dedicated to Saraswati. Connected with the forest, this sacred site is situated by crossing both lakes from the northwest. Immerse yourself in the tranquility of this place adorned with majestic trees. The interconnected paths within the forest, though numerous, might pose a challenge for those without a keen sense of direction or familiarity with the surroundings. Nevertheless, the journey is rewarded with exclusive access and a privileged view of the lake, creating a space where spirituality meets the beauty of nature.

Bali Twin Lake Trekking Point

4.4
(213)
Bali Twin Lake Trekking Point offers a breathtaking view of two of Bali's most picturesque lakes, Tamblingan Lake and Buyan Lake. The trek also leads to a hidden ancient temple that exudes sacred energy. The lakes, separated by a rainforest-covered hill and connected by a pool, provide an awe-inspiring sight that cannot be fully captured in photographs. This location provides an overview of Bali's volcanic heart, shaped by volcanoes to create stunning landscapes and lush forests.
Couldn't walk the path, rainy day but the view from top looks great
Eh M — Google review
Incredible views of the lake and very much enjoyed the hike. I was a bit skeptical of the paved stairs for the first portion but then the guide showed us through the trails. Guide was very knowledgeable of the nature and types of plants/animals. They are very conscious of taking care of the natural area along with picking up trash along the way. The canoe ride to the last temple was very enjoyable and they let you paddle if you like 😄. Note this was booked for us through an agency and while we did very much enjoyed the experience, we understand the pricing may be a bit of a tourist trap, especially with lack of instructions for hikers without a guide.
Malaika D — Google review
The view of the twin lakes from this point is superb. We were lucky as we went there on a sunny day and we were able to observe the difference between the color of the water is the two lakes. Lake Buyan has light blue color whereas lake Tamblingan has light green color. It’s worth stopping here for few minutes to enjoy the view.
Mushiar K — Google review
Wanted to go for a walk with my partner but have been told that it’s 100k per person for entry by ourself or we can enter with a guilds from 250k(plus another more expensive options). The person selling the tickets was really pressuring and it hasn’t felt comfortable. It is really expensive compared to ticket entries in the area so we decided not to go. After reading all those reviews I am so happy we ended up spending way less money in a near by Warung for delicious meal with same view.
Petra Z — Google review
They have a special price for those who have no self-confidence whatsoever. 500k, or you can simply spread them. You can part with your money, or you can part them, or if you have a pair, you can just go in. But always be polite and respectfull here and in life. But seriously: do not get lost in the beautiful jungle.
Alex L — Google review
Very good trek through the mountains and to board the famous twin lakes! You don't need to book in advance for that, for the trek with a guide you'll pay 350k if you're alone, if you're minimum 2 persons it's 250k per person. It's better to do it with a guide, to have great cultural informations about the place, and because of some toxic plants that we mustn't touch with hands to not die 🫨😅
Mathieu N — Google review
100k charge to walk down (and then back up) a bunch of stairs. Small temple and lake view. No vistas, no hiking around the lakes, etc. Saw several people going into the woods with rifles. WTH! Was able to use my ticket to trek at the other lake. That forest was more interesting but the trail I was on le opened to a view of a gas engine running a pump and a bunch of trash. Did not try to hire a guide but if you do I suggest going with a large group as the cost is quite high ($30usd) You're better off going to a roadside warung and enjoying a nice drink/food to go with your view.
Andrew E — Google review
This the the point where you can have a view of 2 lakes and it does not require any payment to get the view. There are some locals beside this location with animals like Bat and Iguana which you need to pay to take photo with them. Kind of animal abuse I guess. There are also regular travel buses stop by here with tourists flocking over to take photos with the twin lake background, could be crowded certain time.

Nestled within a volcanic crater, Lake Tamblingan is steeped in the history of the ancient Tamblingan civilization. A short drive from Munduk, it offers a picturesque setting for travel photographers, especially during sunrise when the misty lake and golden-lit temple create a captivating scene. The area also features a hiking trail that connects Lake Tamblingan with nearby Lake Buyan, known as the Twin Lakes.
Magical morning from Tamblingan. Perfect place to camp beside the lake. Be responsible to bring your trash out after you camp. There are toilets available. The tickets are cheap as well.
Wahyu S — Google review
Yet another beautiful lake in Bali which unfortunately ruined by lack of maintenance and lack of care from its visitors. If you can ignore all the trash lying around this place is perfect to spend time in quiet.
Tidar — Google review
My favorite camping spot. Besides the cool, fresh air, the grass is soft and not rocky. Camping here costs 10,000 Rupiah per person. Firewood and portable cooking gas can be purchased through the help of a man who works here. Several stray dogs guarded us while camping here, and of course, I fed them the special dog food I brought. There are two toilets available, and the cleanliness is quite good by local standards.
Noy S — Google review
Overall, the place it self was beautiful. What make it less, because the trash left by visitors and the limited trashbin available around. It already have toilet, but only 1 side is opened, so sometimes (specially in the morning) you need to wait in a queue. With every visitor is required to pay entry fee, actually the management should manage it well (moreover for the cleanliness of the surounding). And please, make a regulation for people to not set their music on loudspeaker or shouting in the midnight, while others are sleeping. It was so disturbing.

Tamblingan Lake located at tabanan regency its takes around 2 hours from Ngurah Rai Airport . open every days for 24 hours. Tamblingan is a suitable place to set up a tent and family recreation. The combination of fresh lakes and trees that adorn this place makes this place special. In this place you can see 3 temples including Ulun Danu Tamblingan Temple, Pande Tamblingan Temple and Dalem Tablingan Temple. You can also see several species of flowers and also small animals such as squirrels, birds and fish. in the afternoon i suggest you to go fishing around the lake and set up the tent. it will be great if you bring marshmellow and burn it on the fire wood with slow music and guitars at night. in the morning i recomend you to taking photos at Dalem tamblingan temple because of the view are lake, and sun rise. Around the camping place several shops provide your camping needs such as firewood, instant noodles and others if you want to relieve yourself at several points a toilet and shower are provided. for entrance tickets around 10k / person for domestic tourists

Easy access through Camp Tamblingan with car or motorbike. Unfortunately not very taken care of in the camp area. Some trash and burned grass. Recommend a hike around the lake. You can also go into the jungle/forest and see some incredible ancient trees. Fishermen on the lake make for a calm scenery. Almost no tourists when I went here on the weekend. Even though it can be chilly and cold, make sure to wear sunblock to avoid sunburn.
Moritz — Google review
Easy access with car or motorcycle. Just follow the direction from your google map or waze and it will lead you directly to the location. Don't try finding it without your phone's GPS as you'll be lost the the fogs and be eaten by monsters. Parking is just next to the temple. If it rains the day after, just park next to the road as the usual parking space in the field will usually be full of mud. Nobody will usually be around except for another photographer/s with the same plan as you are.

Munduk Waterfall Trekking Point

4.5
(27)
Munduk Waterfall Trekking Point is a popular attraction in Jatiluwih Bali, located about 11 kilometers from the village. The waterfall offers clean waters, fresh air, and magnificent scenery. It's a nice place for a short hike to admire nature and enjoy the view. The well-maintained path includes a concrete staircase and trash cans to keep the area clean. Visitors can also stop at the cafe at the entrance for refreshments.
Amazing experience. Here you can hike for hours, get lost on side paths, all the while walking through expansive hydrangea field (this whole area is dedicated to growing them) Very different from nearby Banyumala (twin waterfalls) and Banyu Wana Amertha, where you pay exorbitant prices for a boring and tourist-packed 20-40 min experience (walk down, take pictures, walk back up),

Lovely waterfall ! Little walk from entry point consisting mainly of stairs. The view is worth it, plus you can have a quick swim in the natural pool. If you want to breathe in nature, it’s the place to be. Entrance 20k pp, with a terrace at the top and little shop where you can have a drink.
Vish C — Google review
Not a big waterfall but the access is easy. There's a cafe where you can sit and enjoy the nature..and they have rooms for rent too.
Praisye B — Google review
In this area we’ve visited all waterfalls except Munduk waterfall just due to time bounds. The waterfalls are very beautiful, and would it be possible to swim underneath, that would be perfect, but it is shallow there. Also we liked walking trailing paths between waterfalls, some sort of little trekking, while trees’ leaves hide you from the sun.

Coffee shop
Golden Valley side ECO CAFE is a charming pit stop during a trek to the famous waterfalls in the Munduk area. It offers delicious local food and beverages, including lak lak, coconut coffee, and juice. The cafe provides a scenic view of the waterfall and allows visitors to practice yoga and meditate in its spacious outdoor area. Additionally, it serves vegetarian options like nasi goreng.
The best pit stop during our 5 waterfalls trek. They serve good food and we get to enjoy the view and breeze of the waterfall. Had lak lak Rp30k, coconut coffee Rp20k and juice Rp25k. Lak lak was freshly made. Fragrant and warm. We requested for the palm sugar and cocoa to be provided separately so that we can add the amount we prefer. They tasted so good. Unlike the other waterfalls which require admission fee, this waterfall is free but request for donation. Gladly did so as the place was kept in a great condition. They accept cash only.

Great place to visit. I've been there twice. You do have to hike down to the restaurant/waterfall, and then backup. I have a bad leg and it wasn't that difficult. Food was good. Good value. When I went in April, I was the only one there. Previous time...maybe 5 other tourists.
Bruce M — Google review
The Eco Café has an amazing atmosphere, with seating right next to a beautiful waterfall. It’s a unique spot that feels special, especially for hikers in the area. That said, the place is not very clean, and the food was disappointing. We only ordered dessert and some water, and the dessert wasn’t very tasty. Service was fine, but overall the café feels more like a stop for the view than for the food. Since it’s the only option next to the waterfall, it works if you want to sit and enjoy the scenery, but don’t come expecting great food.

At Golden Valley Eco Coffee they have the best Mocha, Hot Chocolate and Strawberry milkshake we had in Bali. (And the food is the delicious, too). One of the hidden gems I have found in Bali, i say found because is not easy to find it, but once you do you will see why is so worth to try.

The atmosphere is amazing, complemented by tasty local food and vegetarian options. Additionally, the restaurant maintains clean and immaculate toilets.
We stopped here on way to our hotel. The view was amazing, the staff were very attentive but the best of all was the food. It was absolutely delicious! The View. More than a View! We called in today for lunch and were offered a great menu with a good choice of Indonesian cuisine. All of us enjoyed the food and the cold drinks and were very satisfied with the bill. Seri and Mari were excellent staff and looked after us with much more than a hello. That Balinese smile gets you all the time. The view well fantastic even on a misty day and if ever there is an indication of a good clean restaraunt toilets are an indicator. They were immaculate. One miniscule point. If you like duck check for the quantity of meat on the bird. Sadly today although tasty lacked enough meat. Some great fried banana presented to us as a sorry for the little bit of a problem about the duck. Now that's service. Just like Balivilla4u Where nothing's a problem and everything's a pleasure.

Terrasse du Lac Tamblingan is a charming al fresco dining spot with stunning views of the lake and mountains. The restaurant offers a variety of delicious Indonesian dishes, including favorites like tuna steak, pork rib BBQ, and vegetarian burger. Guests can also enjoy breakfast in their rooms for a cozy feel. While the parking area may be small when all rooms are booked, the friendly and helpful staff make up for it with excellent service.
stayed here July 2024 🌞 they were so kind. they helped us with organizing a motorcycle to go around town. beautiful sunsets & really delicious food. the employees really care to make you feel welcomed. we extended our stay after we originally planned for 2 nights…it was very relaxing & there was a fireplace!

Spent a day here. It was a very good deal and would love to visit and recommend this place to others. Room is spacious. Breakfast was good. Hot water is working perfectly in the cold weather. The fireplace is something romantic. And everyone is very friendly and helpful. 🤎

Everything delicious! Good quality food. I have got 3 course menu for about 12€. A little pricy for Bali, but was worth! :)

Wow 🤩 wow 🤩 wow 🤩 the vegan dishes were amazing (Buddha bowl and the coconut soup) and the dragon fruit juice was delicious

Beautiful and spotless local restaurant, delicious fresh and homemade meals and drinks/teas. Very friendly staff and stunning view! We loved it. Thanks Luci and staff for making this lunch stop an unforgettable experience! Highly recommended

Nice little hotel with a very good restaurant and a very friendly team. We really appreciated our short stay. The room are quite big and with a fireplace which is a nice plus (they give you wood to make a fire and you can buy extra wood if you want). The hotel is nicely located on a hill with a partial view on the lake and it’s only 10mn walk from the starting point of the lake hike. Good place to stop in the area. I recommend it

Excellent views (east and west), very good food but a little pricey. Stopped in after some trekking to enjoy the sunset. Each dish was a delight and the view was lovely. Had the tempura vegetables starter, green curry and fried pingala (bananas) for dessert. Also had a nice ginger coffee. Service was good. Good English and very friendly/helpful. You can eat here even if you aren't staying in their guest house

A fantasy of a restaurant with excellent, fresh-prepared food overlooking a serenely beautiful lake. Lucy, Putumariani, and the rest of the amazing staff here are warm, very helpful, and down to earth. Highly recommend it for a romantic and peaceful getaway!

Waterfalls
Melanting waterfall is a majestic natural wonder located in the village of Munduk, Bali. It stands tall in a thick forest, cascading down steep rocks into a refreshing pool below. Visitors can enjoy the view from a viewing deck while being surrounded by lush greenery. To reach Melanting waterfall from Kuta Bali, it's about 77 kilometers away and takes approximately 2.5 hours to travel there.
Amazing waterfall, Munduk waterfall trails are great and still not overcrowded with tourists which makes going to see the waterfalls very delightful. To get to the Melanting waterfall, you need t9 go down quite a few big steps so may be unsuitable for young children. We went in the rain so it was quite slippery. It was incredible and only 20k entry!
Alicia W — Google review
Nice waterfall to see! Stairs could have been in a better state, but definitely worthwhile the stop if you are following the 'three waterfall path'
Remon — Google review
A beautiful waterfall that is an absolute must-see – uncrowded and one of the few that has so far been spared from tourist infrastructure that would otherwise disrupt the natural beauty of the surroundings.
Dariusz S — Google review
This waterfall holds a special place in my heart. It is the best waterfall i have seen in my life. It reached for my soul and entrapped me in its beauty. Worth the hike.
Shoaib R — Google review
346 steps down from Warung Lembah Melanting, this is the most tiring to reach, among the four Munduk Waterfalls. If you have knee issues but still can do steps, this waterfall is still doable. Just take it slow and easy at your own pace. For bad knees, you might want to reconsider though. Upon reaching the fall, all your pain will be forgotten.
John T — Google review
There are two entries to the waterfalls; one from the top to climb down 380+ uneven hight steps (bound to be slippery if raining). Then, you must climb up those steps to return to your vehicule. That was very tiring for a 76 yo. The second entrance is down, near the falls - no steps - have known :-)). Overall, the trip is worth the entrance fee; rp 20k.
Serge — Google review
Very beautiful waterfall with luxurious nature. We went in the begining of September around 10:00 am and it was not crowded at all. However, there are a lot of stairs and it’s quite physical to climb the stairs.
Toxiico95 — Google review
When you visit Munduk, it is a must to visit its beautiful waterfalls. You can ask at your accommodation, how to reach these waterfalls and which trek to follow. We visited this place in 2019 and it was actually quite a straightforward trail (no weird turns) and there were not too many people. The photos really don't do it justice. The nature is so beautiful and there are several waterfalls each with their own personality. There are some warungs along the way and also some gardens where you can see cloves, cacao, coffee and papaya grow. Munduk is great!

Park
Labuhan Kebo Waterfall is one of the impressive Munduk Waterfalls, offering a unique and less crowded experience compared to others in the area. It's accessible via a short descent from Red Coral and is the only suitable waterfall for wading or swimming along the hike. Visitors can enjoy close proximity to the waterfall and may even have it all to themselves at times.
My #1 waterfall among the 5 waterfalls here. Similar to all other 4 waterfalls, we get to enjoy the peace and beauty alone in silence. Admission fee is Rp20k for adult and Rp10k for kids.
Rise&Shine — Google review
Very pretty, worth visiting. I've been there twice on separate trips to Bali and I like the spot. Marked down 1 star because it would be really nice if they put a little effort into giving you some more places to sit and relax - personally I feel I want to enjoy being at a waterfall and spending time there. Here it feels like a place you descend to, snap some photos and leave again immediately. If I'm paying money, I want more for it than a set of stairs and a bridge. Could be asking too much, but it could definitely be more welcoming (it wasn't busy when we were there).
Ben E — Google review
This fall is the most unique and appears mystical when view on a sunny day. The multiple drops coupled with the valley like surroundings causes water droplets to reverse spray upwards, thanks to the wind factor. However, that also makes taking a clear photo of the fall quite difficult. There is a pool further below where you could wade in. A must visit if you intend to see the waterfalls here.
John T — Google review
the enterance ticket was Rp.20.000 for adult (per person). the accessibility to the waterfall is good.
Intan K — Google review
Such an amazing waterfall! We went there because the walk is short (max 15min). We paid 20k per person which is oke. We were lucky and the only people there. At 16 it started raining and was just one big vibe. Definitely worth visiting! If you want to go into the water I highly recommend bringing flip flops - there are all stones and its very painful to walk in the water barefoot
Silvana B — Google review
This is one of the coolest spots for a waterfall and there aren’t as many stairs as Melanting (which is worth the work). The bamboo bridges create an incredible atmosphere and the power of the waterfall is tremendous. Highly recommend this waterfall above all the others. Make sure you add this to your program! Entry was 20k per person.
Jamie W — Google review
Worth to visit Third waterfall after walk from last one Plenty steps but isn’t bad still manageable for everyone I suppose. Beautiful nature, trees , birds make you feel so grateful to be here Entrance fee 10.000 rupiah Public toiled available This one good warm up before visit the last waterfall
Yoga B — Google review
The entrance is accessible from the waterfall hiking trails. Follow a map or you might get lost if you take the wrong path. You can get within 10 metres to the waterfall. Some parts are slippery. The stairs are steep and not suitable for old folk. Not suitable for swimming as the waterfall is slippery and rocky. There’s no supervision and the toilet is basic.

Red Coral Munduk Waterfall

4.4
(519)
Nestled in the lush rainforest near Munduk Village in Buleleng, Bali, lies the breathtaking Red Coral Munduk Waterfall. Often compared to a movie set, this stunning waterfall is the most spectacular of three falls in the area. With its 15-meter drop and mist-filled air, it's truly a sight to behold. The surrounding area boasts two twin lakes that add to the natural beauty of this picturesque spot.
Really cool spot, we were fortunate to have this place almost to ourselves. The power from the water is immense, throwing spray tens of meters away. Some really amazing flowers and plants here too with a vast array of colours. The little bamboo bridges to cross are a great touch. At 45K entry it's great value. The track on way is is well maintained and quite an easy walk **we did use the secret locals track, not the one with steps off the main road**. There are 3 other waterfalls within walking distance from this one Well worth the visit.
Ryan B — Google review
It's a powerful waterfall to visit, and definitely worth it. If there were a couple more benches it would be even better! (There's currently a couple of logs to sit on) It's clean and tidy and well kept, you can paddle around and get soaked from the spray to your hearts content. Not deep enough to do more than paddling though.
Ben E — Google review
Munduk Waterfall is a stunning display of Bali’s natural beauty. Surrounded by lush greenery and vibrant tropical landscape, the falls offer an ideal setting for photos and peaceful moments in nature. The waterfall itself is powerful and scenic, embodying the island's vibe perfectly. While it does draw a lot of tourists which can make photo timing difficult, the overall experience is still very enjoyable. Some areas near the far end are currently under construction for what appears to be a future viewing platform, which should enhance the visit once complete. A worthwhile stop for any Bali traveler.
Sean D — Google review
Most accessible of the 4 falls, probably also why it ended up with most man made structures around it. There is no room for wading, so only take pictures. Silly. My advice is to skip this fall if you looking for more natural settings. See my photos to decide.
John T — Google review
The waterfall is nice, but definitely not worth the admission fee of 45.000 / person (€2,70). It’s a 50 meter walk to the waterfall from the ticket office, where people crowd together to get a photo. So you pay a lot for a 5 minute experience. There are other waterfalls in the same area that are free or 50% cheaper and equally beautiful. The garden towards the waterfall is pretty, although not worth the price
Julius — Google review
Easy to reach from the "Red coral waterfall parking place". The donation used by local community to manage the waterfall area. I can see how they working to make it be better place. The only problem just the toilets facility cannot said its clean enough..Hopefully soon. 💛 The waterfall its self dont have ponds to swim, but for the eldery people it's quite reachable. From red coral we can go to another waterfall, called Labuan Kebo, which also worthed to visited.
Lupa-Lupa I — Google review
The waterfall is impressive! It is not a super easy walk down to the ticket booth as it is steep and fairly long but it is still doable. It was not too crowded when we went, but definitely not empty either. The waterfall itself is strong and gives off a lot of spray. When you cross the log to the other side of the waterfall, even just a few seconds will make your clothes wet. But on the main side it’s fine. Slightly tiring walk back up.

💸 Entrance Fee: 2/5 ⭐ – 45k IDR/person 🚶‍♂️ Access: 5/5 ⭐ – 15 min walk from Golden Valley Waterfall (~23 min from the main road) 🪜 Height: 4/5 ⭐ 💧 Water Flow: 4/5 ⭐ 🌿 Aesthetics: 3/5 ⭐ To reach this waterfall, first go to the spot marked as 1, then walk to Golden Valley Waterfall (marked 2). From there, continue for another 15 minutes on foot to reach Red Coral Waterfall (marked 3). You’ll see direction signs along the way. The path is well-maintained and very easy to walk, following alongside a small stream. You might even meet a lovely lady selling bananas perfect for a quick energy boost 🍌 In our opinion, the entrance fee of 45k IDR/person is quite expensive, especially considering that many other nearby waterfalls are either free or around 20k IDR. The waterfall flows from a tall cliff in a pillar-like stream. The mist from the falling water gives you a refreshing cool breeze 💦 It’s not really ideal for swimming, though. From here, you can continue on to visit Belong, Labuhan Kebo, and Melanting Waterfalls they’re all nearby! 📌 One thing to note: Many people upload photos of different waterfalls under the same location tag, which can be confusing. Make sure you’re at the right one! 📲 For more places we visited in Bali and our full 1-week itinerary, check out our Instagram: @shallwegoo

Munduk Waterfalls Trekking Point, also known as Niagara Munduk Waterfall, is a cluster of waterfalls in the village of Munduk. The entrance fee is 30,000 IDR (2 USD), and it's open from 6 am to 6 pm. Located in North Bali, it's surrounded by lush clove and coffee plantations.
Very beautiful waterfall. Worth the time and effort. It is a few minutes walk down a mostly cement walkway. It is steep and slippery. Very good experience.

After driving for about two hours with lots of rain we arrived at this great waterfall. Only went to see the one, though there is a second one nearby as well, which you can visit on the same ticket (ticket fee: 45k foreigner - 15k local). The path from the bike parking down to the falls is idyllic and well maintained. It can be slippery though so wear proper footwear and just take care. Down at the main fall there’s a nice garden with all kinds of colourful plants. It wasn’t the time to take a swim for us, but down near the waterfall there are some pools. Worth the 2 hour drive from the south? For sure, if not just for the waterfall, there are some great scenic vistas to stop and admire the natural Balinese beauty.
Rob S — Google review
Nice waterfalls, Munduk waterfalls don’t really have much space to bathe in them. If you continue down the path you’ll find other ones which I think were prettier, but they’ll still ask you for money: 45.000 for Munduk and 20.000 for each waterfall after that + 5.000 parking.
Bianca R — Google review
One of few start point to the 4 Munduk Waterfalls. Just look across the road down slope, you should see a parking space round the bend, beside the parking is the trek start point. Was told there's another start point from within Bali Jegeg hotel.
John T — Google review
Munduk waterfall was relaxing and peaceful. I arrived before noon and had it all to myself. The air is cooler l, so I didn't get into the pool but the mist and the sound of the fall was all I needed. It's not too steep to reach maybe 100 steps, with places you'll stop and take photos. I'd recommend it to all. Only a 20k entry fee.
Trevour D — Google review
It's a beautiful waterfall. Clean area and has very fresh air. There a local people selling coffee beans, saffron, and many more (local products) on the way to the waterfall.
Bali S — Google review
A very short hike from the parking lot (search for it not this one) you will pass by a few local shops and eateries until you reach the entrance and pay 20,000 IDR for entry. Roughly 100m away is this beautiful, powerful and elegant waterfall that you should get up close to truly appreciate. Disregard the naysayers and see it for yourself, you will not regret it. And i must say that the evening scooter ride here was beautiful with picturesque views left and right while driving through clouds. Amazing experience!
Ghulam M — Google review
A very short walk from the parking lot and you will see the entrance to the site. There is a small fee for entering the site. On top there is a bar and restaurant overlooking the waterfall. Very peaceful and beautiful.

The café prides itself on its dedication to sustainability and serves excellent coffee, including Bali's famous Luwak coffee. What sets this café apart is its commitment to ethical practices in producing Luwak coffee, as it is sourced from free-roaming civet animals without any harm to them or the environment.
This place is must visit. Great location with a beautiful view if you’re lucky and it’s not raining. Staff is very friendly and they do everything to fulfill every single need of yours. They’re doing a really wonderful job here! 🫶 From the photos you can see how beautiful and simple the serving is, but trust me, the food is even more tasty, that you think. If you’re in Munduk area, don’t think twice and just go there. You’ll thank me later. The gastro-experience is also very affordable.

I went to this amazing place three times in two days in Munduk. People who work here are really nice and friendly. They have unbeatable prices, amazing vegetarian options and the coffee is in other level! If you come to Munduk this place is a must.
Antonela M — Google review
First off, the coffee here is amazing. The best is had in Bali, definitely try their signature coffees. We didn't try to luwak but the regular coffee. In addition, the staff is super friendly and they have an interesting menu that goes beyond the standard warung menu card with nasi goreng. Definitely recommend the lak-plak dessert and the bubur ijen. They use a lot of the local spices from the region so the food is properly seasoned.

Very cute little restaurant, perfect place to start from going to the waterfalls. The staff is super friendly and helpful, and the food is amazing! The view is extra and truly stunning. You can see rice fields in the distance and nature as far as the eyes can see! The spring rolls are amazing 🤤

Went here for dinner once and breakfast twice! Lovely staff and a great story:) we tried the luwak (poop) coffee, and this place is one of the only shops that does it sustainably! We loved the food and the views - but most of all, the staff! Super yummy highly recommend

This spot was a pleasant surprise! They have a great selection of coffee… we had a Luwak americano and Vietnamese drip, but I was also eyeing the cappuccino and V60 pourover. The black rice pudding (bubur injin) was also the best I’ve had in Bali, made with fragrant herbs and spices and perfectly sweet. The view is incredible too

Visitors rave about the warm reception they receive upon arrival, often being treated to complimentary ginger tea with lemongrass. The menu features a variety of tasty options, including pork ribs, rich soup, rice, and incredibly delicious fried bananas. Vegetarian dishes are also available, such as the fruit nasi goreng with mango, apple, and dragon fruit.

Authentic place with an amazing view. Food was very good, tasty, and portions were abundant; and the prices are very good. Coffee is particularly good. Facilities are clean and tidy. We had lunch there twice and we were not even staying close to it.

limited menu but the food is above average. fried chicken best non-chain I’ve had in Indonesia (large piece too). great view. decent parking space but not the best bathrooms (fine for #1). service time is fine and the free lemon grass tea was great. very local. bit hard to see from the road. recommended.

The best Urab I had in my Bali trip is here . It's fresh and rich in taste, good portion size yet at an affordable price . We had it without rice , who needs rice when Urab itself is so tasty 😃 The owner is generous to give us a complimentary lemon grass tea which was best for that chilling weather of Munduk. This warung has a nice view too . It's not a complete vegan place but he has vegetarian options . Kolak sela bun is a warm dessert taste is good , bit more sweeter . I guess for this the quantity can be decreased

Love this place. Great tasting food and desserts. Lovely people and best value In Munduk. We travelled 6km to get there and ended up going here for dinner every night. Going to miss the food. Thanks for many wonderful meals and complimentary teas.

Delicious doesn't mean expensive. It’s more tasty here than in other more expensive local cafes. Very warm welcome, literally. We got so cold from the road and as soon as we arrived they treated us to delicious ginger tea with lemongrass. The set for 45k turned out to be very tasty, it includes pork ribs + rich soup + rice. Incredibly tasty fried bananas for 10k! Good local cuisine, there are vegetarian dishes, I tried fruit nasi goreng - with mango, apple and dragon fruit, unusual and tasty. Water is given free of charge, and we were also warmed with homemade arak😄 Kind nice guys! Cheap and tasty compared to more expensive cafes. Thanx a lot, we’ll be back 🙏🏽 . .

Munduk Don Biyu is a very nice homestay. The owner and staff are extremely friendly, they gave us a map of the treks to do around Munduk. The homestay is cute. The food is very nice (especially the chicken BBQ with black pepper sauce, it was delicious!). The view from the room is absolutely wonderful, you can see all the valley, and this enough is worth staying there. The only downside is the room was a bit moldy and you could smell it. We stayed 2 nights and I definitely recommend this place: very simple but amazing view, staff and food 💜
