Hot Springs & Geysers
Poring Hot Spring is a popular resort complex located in Kinabalu Park, offering outdoor pools filled with natural mineral-rich hot spring waters. The attraction features an outdoor pool consistently at about 33 degrees Celsius (92 Fahrenheit) with natural minerals and a cascading waterfall, known for its therapeutic properties that can relieve tense muscles and skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis.
Bring towel and change of clothing with you. If u want privacy, take the private hotspring pool with a fee. To cool down, you can visit two waterfalls way down the path after the We skipped the canopy walk due to time constraint.

Amazing park and it is one of UNESCO heritage sites. Very beautiful place to enjoy nature. but better be prepared and come in with right outfit, shoes and a big bottle of water if you plan to go to the Canopy walk since the hike will take aprx. 1000 meter up.
Sosa K — Google review
Canopy walk is closed for major maintenance. Butterfly garden with very few butterflies. Hotspring footspa is free, and 10rm to rent a tub for 3hours. there is a mini water park, fee applies. good to spend a hot afternoon there with family. 15min trek to a very cooling waterfall, that worth visiting! Overall a well maintained park.
Bel W — Google review
Absolute waste of time and money for foreigners. The entry fee if MYR 50 per person entitles you to NOTHING except just to enter. If you like to use the hot spring you NEED to pay, if you like to use swimming pool with FREEZING water you need to pay. Overall this whole complexis very rin down and poorly maintained. Better to go to Kundasang for free breathtaking views.
Marino T — Google review
place is pretty far out but worth coming for the hike to the 2 waterfalls. note that the langanan waterfall hike is pretty tough and requires hikers to start it before 9/10am. only went to the nearer waterfall and spent an hour there. there are mini fishes in the shallow waters where you can dip your feet into. very fun! there’s a restaurant inside for you to grab a meal - food was delicious.
Anna K — Google review
Well-maintained (improved from the last time I came. Price breakdown for one adult: Parking RM5 for 1 car, park entrance fee RM10, cold water pool with slides RM3, hot water pool RM10. There is also private bathtub room with RM35 per room The toilet is clean. The area is clean. The counter receptionist is friendly. Good job Sutera Sanctuary Lodges team.
Syazwani — Google review
Compared to Tawau Hot springs less ideal for soaking. Separate baths.takes ages to fill up. Cheap 10 Ringgit. 50 ringgit general as a non Malaysian . Canopy walk closed for maintenance but looks forever. Butterfly farm interesting. And 1 km walk to waterfall .try to go as early as possible to have a bath.quickly occupied.
Jo D — Google review
50rm entrance fee for foreigners and 10rm for malaysians. I partly understand the higher tax for foreigners and if it.s for conservation purposes i.m happy to pay it. But this is one of the very few times when i feel scammed. The canopy walk was closed for maintenance, the rafflesia was not in the blooming season, the biggest hot spring was closed as well, the small ones were just some small bathtubs with faucets, Langanan Waterfall could only be reached if starting the hike before 10am (the park opens at 9am) and the butterfly had just a few butterflies. The disappointment was that none of this info was told at the ticket office, neither was it available on the park website. So basically the highlight of our visit was a 4m high waterfall and the A/C where they had the dead bugs. Would have never willingly paid 50rm for that..

Mountains
Sosodikon Hill in Kundasang is a popular spot for a short and easy hike, suitable for people of all ages. The 1465 meters tall hill offers stunning views of the valley and Mount Kinabalu on clear days. It's recommended to wear proper hiking shoes due to slippery and rocky slopes. The trek is not advisable for those with knee issues. Visitors are advised to arrive early to avoid cloud cover obstructing the mountain view.
If you want to see sunrise on this hill, you need to notify the staff 1 day before. The hill is not steep but it still gives a hiking experience because 80% of it is rocky terrain, not stairs. The wind in the morning is very strong. If you can't withstand the cold, please wear extra clothing or a sweater. Only high performance drones that can withstand strong wind are able to fly. I brought my DJI Neo but didn't dare to fly it.
Nasri N — Google review
Sosodikan Hill is an excellent location for a spectacular view of Mt.Kinabalu and Kundasang. A short climbing height of around 65(?)m and 12mins effort would bring you to a height of 1465m above sea level. The platform constructed at the peak of the hill allow for a safe viewing spot. You would not be disappointed. This short trek and the well maintained trail makes it suitable for families to attempt. There is a small fee for the climb and there are parking for your car nearby.
SY T — Google review
Short climb up in the heat but the view to the left was very nice. To the right more agreculture. Nice flowers and butterflies and the swallows that flew over. Maybe the platform etc to collerfull. It does not comply with nature. But for RM 10 oke
Pjotr M — Google review
The walk up to the hill is much more gradual than the Pyramid hill. Its better for the less fit tourist. Nice view of the kinabalu mountain from the peak of this hill. Its a nice location for good photo taking. Place is kept clean. However parking space is limited. The souvenir sold here are nice. I like this hill view.
Sharin S — Google review
A mini hike spot for a fabulous photo session at the top. Along the trail is full with colourful flowers, all the way up to the top. There are a few benches available along the trail to stop and catch your breath. Entrance was only RM5/adult. Road to the entrance of the hill is quite challenging. Advised to use suitable cars. Best to hike early morning for the cold air and great views. After purchase tickets, you have to queue and wait for your turn to go on the trail because they limit the amount of people climbing up to avoid congestion at the top.
Amira S — Google review
A breathtaking hidden gem in Kundasang! 🌄 Sosodikon Hill offers one of the most stunning panoramic views of Mount Kinabalu. The short hike to the top is quite easy and suitable even for beginners or families. Once you reach the peak, the scenery is absolutely worth it — rolling hills, cool mountain breeze, and a perfect view for sunrise or sunset photos. There’s also a small stall near the parking area where you can buy local snacks and drinks. The trail is well maintained, and the locals are very friendly. If you’re visiting Kundasang, Sosodikon Hill is a must-visit spot for nature lovers, hikers, or anyone who wants to enjoy peaceful mountain vibes away from the crowd. 📸 Tip: Come early in the morning for the best light and fewer people.
Wardah M — Google review
Tips to someone who rarely go hiking, bring your water with you! The hike is not long but still being hydrated would be beneficial for you. The view is MESMERIZING.

Sg. Moroli Fish Spa is a delightful escape nestled in the heart of nature, perfect for those seeking relaxation and fun. Located about 45 minutes from Kundasang Town, this serene spot features a fast-flowing river where visitors can choose to wade or dip their feet among hundreds of playful fish. For just RM4, you can enjoy the shallows, while RM8 allows for a more immersive experience.
Definitely most interesting thing to do in Kundasang/Ranau! 30 mins drive away from kundasang city centre and swarm by fish that you can feed ( fish do not eat dead skin, only fish pellets). These are koi fish/ carps so does not naturally found there but still interesting to do! Entrance fee is rm5 and there aren’t an any place to keep shoes safe and can get quite cramp so best it’s to be there early
Doodle F — Google review
This is our second time visiting Fish Spa Sg Moroli, and it’s still a fun and unique experience — especially for kids! One thing that makes it special is that the fish here are bigger than the usual tiny ones at other fish spas, so you can really feel them nibbling away at your feet. They also have fish food available, which makes it even more fun because you can attract more fish to come to you. My kid really enjoyed feeding the fish and watching them gather around. Definitely a must-visit if you’re in the area — relaxing, different, and a great memory for the family!
Mamaamiey — Google review
The staff really nice, good personality. The river "tagal" full of grown fish. Do not recommend the fish massage if you have any skin problem or disease, one of my student got his leg bleed because of thin skin.

🌿 My Experience at Sg. Moroli Fish Spa, Sabah 🐟 What an unforgettable experience! At Sungai Moroli Fish Spa, I got to dip my feet into the crystal-clear river while hundreds of small fish gently nibbled away the dead skin — it felt ticklish at first but super relaxing after a while. The water was so fresh and cold, surrounded by beautiful nature and friendly locals who explained the history of the place. If you love something different and close to nature, this is definitely a must-visit spot in Sabah. A perfect blend of relaxation, laughter, and natural therapy — highly recommended for everyone visiting Ranau or Kundasang area! 💦✨

Sabah Tea Resort in Ranau offers a unique breakfast experience with a backdrop of lush tea plantations and stunning natural scenery. The resort's restaurant serves fresh and healthy morning dishes made from high-quality local ingredients, including the popular choice of toast with tea jam. While the factory may appear abandoned, the cafe is fully operational and offers paid attractions such as a treetop deck and traditional costume rentals. Visitors can also enjoy various photo spots, although some areas of the tea farm may appear less dense.
Nestled among the lush green hills of Sabah, this restaurant serves more than just tea. It serves serenity. From the first sip of warm Sabah tea to the last glance at the misty hills, everything here feels like a postcard. If you’re ever in need of a peaceful escape paired with hearty local flavours, this is the place. Highly recommended for tea lovers, nature seekers, and anyone who needs a deep breath of calm.
Mrsrozanna — Google review
The farm isn’t very big and the tea plants aren’t neatly arranged so if you’re expecting something like Cameron Highlands, this isn’t quite it. But on the bright side you can cover the whole area pretty quickly. It can get hot, so wear something light and bring an umbrella. Most of the activities and attractions are in one area, which makes it easy to get around. The tree house canopy walkway was short and not too high, don’t expect anything super adventurous but it gives a nice bird’s-eye view of the ladang. It’s also quite breezy up there. The cafe was okay. The scones weren’t great, but the tomyam was good. We also had salted egg prawn, which was pretty sedap. Plenty of parking too, so no worries there. Tips: Get the exotic flavour series of Sabah Tea as a souvenir. I grabbed a few, lemongrass, cinnamon and ginger. Wanted to try the agarwood tea at the cafe but it was sold out and I couldn’t find it at the souvenir shops either. When I tried looking elsewhere, they only had the usual teh o ais type. Thank god i got some already at the farm!
Rabi'atul A — Google review
Stopped by Sabah Tea Restaurant for a quick bite — we only had the pancakes, which were average in taste, nothing special. But the menu does offer some unique local dishes, and we saw other diners enjoying their food, so maybe the other items are better. The view of the tea plantation adds a nice touch, though it’s not exactly stunning — parts of it look a bit abandoned or not well maintained. Still, it’s a peaceful spot to sit and relax with a cup of tea. They also have a souvenir shop, but the prices are really expensive. Even the tea costs more than what you’d pay for the same Sabah Tea at retail shops down the hill.
Mamaamiey — Google review
June 2025 Nice place to chill and relax for short drink. Ordered teh pandan cold RM 7.00, tham cold RM 9.00, and pandan waffle RM 18.00. Total RM 34
David L — Google review
The drive to this place is scenic and beautiful, but do note that some parts of the road are bumpy with potholes and damages—drive carefully. It gets quite hot in the area, but there’s ample parking. There’s a tree house with a short canopy walk, which is chargeable for 10 minutes (price is shown in the picture attached). We enjoyed a lovely walk along the tea plantation trail—great for taking photos and soaking in the lush greenery but bear in mind when we were there, the place was super hot. So some umbrellas or hats are advisable. We didn’t try their actual hot or cold teas, so we can’t comment on that. We only had some snacks, desserts, and drinks. Here’s what we tried: • Green tea smoothie was not good • Sirap Bandung was average • Banana fritters were okay • Green tea pancake was decent • Green tea ice cream was good • Mixed fruit platter was alright (pineapple was a bit sour, but watermelon was okay) They have traditional clothings for rent for those who are interested. Overall, it’s a nice place to visit for nature lovers and casual bites, with photo-worthy surroundings.

Nice food from the set menu of rm40 each. Would have been interesting to have an informative or educational tour of the history and process of tea making.
Joan L — Google review
The food here is not up to taste. Kimchi fried rice tasted bland for a kimchi?! Sweet sour fish tasted more like sweet sauce. The most dish that I am super frustrated is the FISH FINGER. How can you serve FISH CAKE as fish finger in a RM30 DISH?!!!! RIDICULOUS! Please improve and use right fillets!!!!! The tea? Not so good to me. The scone? So so but at least that’s the most edible we could have here. Meanwhile they have no good view here, just a short hanging bridge but is chargeable at rm5 per head haha not worth it at all. It’s not like you can get a view out of it. Bad experience here I must say.
Nana H — Google review
The worst Teh Tarik I’ve had so fae on this trip! You can tell by the colour, that it’s not strong nor flavourful. I also had the chicken tea soup, and there wasn’t even a full bite of chicken. Nice atmosphere to make up, but overall like many have said, overpriced! We made a stop because it was part of a tour, but disappointed with the experience.

Great experience at the restaurant. Adam and Larry, their service staff is very friendly and attentive. There is not much food to choose from nesr Poring Hot Spring, and we decided to go for the nearest restaurant, which is within Poring Hot Spring area. We were there about 1230pm, and it is not crowded. We were attended by friendly staffs and got to pick a cozy indoor seat. The food, albeit a bit expensive, tasted good. The rice set has all the different local flavour which make the dining enjoyable.

Restoran Selera Kebun, located in Kundasang, offers a mix of Chinese and traditional native Sabahan cuisine. The restaurant is known for its specialties such as grilled chicken wings, soto, Linopot Ayam Penyet, Nasi Ayam Mbak Likas, Nasi Ayam Sembulan and Nasik Katok. The service is efficient and knowledgeable about the menu items and local produce used in the dishes.
We stubbled here otw to our hotel. The food was on point - it took me back to the old days where food tasted so simple yet so delicious. We ordered the dating salai and the rusa tumis. Everything tasted so simple, the telur masin, soup, sambal but it all blended together and created something delicious. Food portion was big, a lot of meat given and justified the price. Definitely recommend. But come early to avoid queuing, even though the service was fast but we still had to wait. So we ordered the ayam panggang and the sauce and juices were ✨amazing✨. The only regret was not ordering more. When the food arrived, so did the flies so it was not comfortable eating. Parking was free but we were lucky to come early so we got parking. Some had to double park.

Crowded! Crowded! Can u imagine, they open at 11am n we went at 11:20am+, FULL parking n with waiting list in the restaurant! Powerful la. We went here after an ATV tour. It was very busy so it must be good, but we soon had a place. I ordered deer spicy and it sure was a spicy deer. But so incredible tasty. Also the 2 soups were tasty and spicy I loved it. My wife ordered chicken and fried rice, delicious (rico in Spanish). Also the people who work here were very friendly and hospitable, they were interested where we came from. I am Dutch but my wife is Ecuadorian. She must have been the first Ecuadorian who visited that place and they wanted to know where the country is. An excellent place to stop when you are in the area and want to try local (Muslim) food.

Enjoyed much the food.

Sedap Tapi Banyak Lalat lah This restaurant on Jalan Mesilau has a quiet and cool atmosphere and doesn’t serve pork. The traditional food is tasty and the portions are big, matching the price. We tried the Ayam Salai Linopot and Ikan Masin Linopot. Both were great, but the Ayam Salai had too many small bones, making it hard to eat. We tried the Ayam Salai Linopot and Ikan Masin Linopot. Both were great, but the Ayam Salai had too many small bones, making it hard to eat. One major issue was the flies. As soon as our food arrived, flies swarmed our table, making the meal very uncomfortable. Other reviews mentioned this problem too. The restaurant added a sign apologising for the flies, but I think that’s wrong. It’s something they can control, but they choose not to do anything and just put up a sign instead. They need to disinfect the tables regularly, especially in the cracks and nooks where flies tend to gather. Our table was wrapped in plastic, which helped a bit, but the flies still came when the food was served. They really need to address this fly problem to improve the dining experience.

The Kundasang War Memorial, established in 1962, is one of the earliest memorials dedicated to honoring the British and Australian soldiers who perished at the Sandakan POW Camp during World War II. It pays tribute to those involved in the tragic Sandakan Death March, a series of forced marches that resulted in a devastating death toll.
Kundasang War Memorial is a must visit place in Kundasang. It commemorate a horrific event of WWII where 2428 prisoners of war died. The memorial is on a hill behind Kundasang market. Inside we will find Australian Garden, English Rose Garden and Borneon Garden to mark the origins of the many POW. And the Contemplation Garden offers a poignant reminder of the horrors of war. Plenty of parking nearby. There is a small entrance fee.

Overrated place, charging entrance fee claiming as maintenance fee but not doing any maintenance. It was very obvious this place is lacking maintenance, dirty and everywhere stain of alga or lots of dried leaves. Many photos on google review are old photos, yes, they looked nice but that was many years ago. Now it look totally different and feel like abandoned place, yet they charge entrance fee. There is a small shop there, one of the guy working there has super bad attitude. When asking the direction to toilet he basically stared without answering, but, remember, on top of charging entrance fee they also charge toilet fee. And for the toilet is was super weird that they wrote on the wall asking you to save water DONT FLUSH….. I don’t recommend coming here, for any tourist.

I had no idea this place existed and I found it almost by accident but I'm really glad I did. It tells the tale of the prisoners of war from Sandakan, the death march and of the local heroes who tried to help them along the way. There are different gardens in remembrance of those from Australia, England and the local population as well as good views out to Mount Kinabalu. The cost of entry was 15 ringgit for a non-Malaysian (I think?) but this is definitely worth it. The gardens are very well kept and there is enough information to make it interesting. The Browne Town.

A place of memorial and tribute to all those lost lives during world war 2. Didn't learn this in Sejarah though. Great opportunity to learn about the real history with the existence of this kinda memorial.
Mohan K — Google review
For Malaysian you need to pay rm5 for entry. But its a good price to commemorate the fallen soldiers and their sacrifices. It's peaceful. The flowers are tended, the place is clean.
Wahidah K — Google review
It's very disappointing that this place is not well managed. If I come next year, there will most likely be nothing that has changed. For example, the landscaping of the area, the flowers are not in order, the pool water is dirty, and a lot of RM1 money & coins is thrown in, probably as a token of appreciation to the soldiers. Maybe the management can collect the money for the purpose of repairing the area. Bagi sa lh kn masuk d sini teda yg bikin WAHHH, cuma mmmmm seja🥲

This is a historical area whereby you learn about the POWs that were captured by Japanese soldiers during WW2. There are plaques around and it's a garden filled with beautiful flowers. At the top is a picturesque view of the village and the backdrop of Mount Kinabalu. Very nice and peaceful place.

Kundasang Market is a vibrant hub offering an array of fresh vegetables, fruits, and beautiful flowers. The friendly atmosphere created by the welcoming sellers gives visitors a sense of being part of a close-knit community. Located at the foothill of Mount Kinabalu, the market boasts stunning views of the majestic mountain and its mist-shrouded peaks. Additionally, it is known for offering unique local produce such as red durian and strawberries.
Local produce market! Many stalls with local produce from vegetables to fruits. They have wild durians that are a single seed. Found some vegetables that are specific to Kundasang like their big spring onions and a curly swirly veg (duno official name) that I like. They also have a section for potted plants. Pretty flowers. Nice to walk around when you are in town. 👍🏼

Kundasang Market is a vibrant spot offering a wide variety of local products, from fresh produce to unique handmade goods. It's a great place to explore and experience the local culture. The variety and quality of items make it worth a visit, especially for those looking to bring home something special. While there’s room for improvement in organization and cleanliness, it’s still a must-visit destination in Kundasang.

Typical tourist spot, like cameron highland 15 years ago. Not everything sold here are local, some are products from different places including import goods. Not everything sold here are good, and the price is really some ok some super expensive.

Outdoor market with plenty of stalls selling fruits, vegetables, local snacks/food, succulents, and flowers. Warm sellers. Bargaining is acceptable.

The must go place if you are in kundasang. You will not be lost because it is located at the roundabout and there are parking space around it. I like this place because you could practically buy anything and everything Kundasang has to offer. One side is all the fruits, souvenirs, rice, etc. Opposite just across the road, that's where the locals sell wet stuffs such as fish, chicken, etc. The sellers will offer good prices if you purchase lots of stuffs, everything seems to be negotiable. Even you don't like to bargain like me, the prices there are fair. 😉

At an elevation of almost 1,900m , Kundasang is the highest settlement in Malaysia, and among other things, it’s renowned for its fruit and vegetable market……..so a great spot to stock up on some amazing tropical fruit snacks. I’m also quite sure it’s the only place I’ll ever see giant cabbage statues adorning the roundabouts. Don't forget to snap photo and enjoy the fresh fruit and vegetables because it is really cheap.

Coffee shop
Hooga Cafe @ Kundasang Farm Ville is a cozy restaurant conveniently located just 3 kilometers from Desa Dairy Farm. It's part of the Kundasang Farm Ville, making it a great stop for families and couples visiting the area. The cafe offers a variety of dishes including big breakfast, waffles, porridge, and lamb with rice.
The atmosphere was comfortable and so many mixes of different elements in terms of it's esthetic. Furthermore, the meal and drinks that the Hooga Cafe was really good and fulfilling. Lastly, the back area was completed with children's playground, "photo booths" and a whole garden of aquaponics, and I love it! Would recommend giving it a visit.
Aiden W — Google review
We went to Hooga Cafe on two separate occasions. The first time was for lunch time, and the other is for breakfast. The staff were friendly and helpful in the decision-making of food orders for first timers. The decoration and ambiance is really nice, offering a chill indoor setting, as well as vibrant outdoor setting. They offer local, western food so the menu is extensive.
Nur M — Google review
Visited this road side restaurant during our visit to Desa Farm, the taste of the food is decent at best. However, the portion of the food is larger than expected for the price. The restaurant also has an indoor garden and kiddie park which only kids are allowed to play😔😔, good for photos though.
Sak # — Google review
Presentable as it may be, this chicken chop took an hour to be served. Potato mash is a cold slop while the chicken and fries are left unseasoned. Waiter couldn’t differentiate between a fried and grilled chicken chop. Adding to that, the waiter couldn’t get our orders out even after reminding them thrice. Management should look into their catering and service issues, ambience is not all that is to a great restaurant. Honestly disappointed about the experience as a first-timer to Kundasang.
Samuel H — Google review
A excellent location for a meal. Hooga premise design is evocative. With a funfair like front entrance, rustic flair dining area with hint of industrial, cement floor and rectangular steel frame seats, to vineyard veranda backyard dining space. Plenty of instagrammable shots for even the picky ones. Had my breakfast here. The nasi lemak was oddly square but taste good. The paratha was alright, curry gravy slightly oily but not bad. I did enjoy the latte as well.. The premise was reasonably clean and service prompt. Worth dropping by.
SY T — Google review
the place is really pretty and comfortable. the food arrived fast, the service is good enough 👍🏼 the girl that served us was nice and polite too. the chicken burger was okay, but the fries was too salty. chicken chop was a bit dry. sweet sour fish with rice is okay. we were disappointed with thai chicken with rice bc the chicken was dry, and the chicken portion was not enough considering the price, especially since it was thinly sliced. but overall, our experience with this cafe was good.
Sarah Q — Google review
Ambience is great and comfortable. Food is average but I am pleased that it is on the healthier side. A good place to chill and relax after visiting the Diary Farm nearby.
April T — Google review
Place was nice and aesthetic. But, the food not that good. Creamy butter chicken with rice, the chicken was precooked and they just pour the sauce afterwards. Same with the bolognese chicken. Spaghetti was precooked and not fresh. Wedges taste like frozen food.

If you're an animal enthusiast, the Alpaca Club in Kundasang is a must-visit destination. This charming alpaca farm offers a serene setting with the magnificent Mount Kinabalu as a backdrop. The petting zoo allows visitors to interact with these gentle and furry creatures, feed them, and capture memorable moments with them. In addition to alpacas, the club also houses rabbits, guinea pigs, and hedgehogs for visitors to enjoy.
The view is beautiful. The alpacas are very cute, and there are rabbits too. Visits are scheduled, and they’ll give you instructions. The staff is very friendly and helps take good photos. Entrance fee is 35 ringgit per person, and you can buy tickets at the counter—no need to book in advance. A great experience.
Ratha H — Google review
My visit to the Alpaca Club was pure joy! These creatures are as graceful and quirky as they look in pictures. Feeding them was a blast, they were gentle and their soft, curious noses were so cute. Some were playful, others were peacefully grazing, and all were incredibly photogenic. A uniquely delightful experience that left me smiling for hours. A must-visit for animal lovers!
FlatWhite J — Google review
Alpaca Club in Kundasang is such a hidden gem! The alpacas are friendly and well cared for, and the cool highland weather makes the visit even more enjoyable. Perfect for families and animal lovers. You can pet and feed the alpacas, and take lots of cute photos. The staff are kind and helpful, and the whole place is clean and well-managed. Definitely worth a stop if you’re visiting Kundasang!
Kori P — Google review
Nice decent experience. Entry RM20/adult for local. RM3 per bowl for feeding. Petting allowed on the head and neck only. Apparently they spit and bite. Boy i would’ve paid to see that.
Ali R — Google review
The Alpaca Club, located on Jalan Cinta Mata in Kampung Mesilou, is home to alpacas that originate from South America. Often mistaken for llamas, alpacas are a distinct species despite belonging to the same lamoid family. To differentiate, alpacas are generally smaller in size compared to llamas. The Alpaca Club is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 4.30 p.m., with designated visiting slots to avoid overcrowding. Each visit lasts 20 minutes, during which guests receive information about the alpacas, interact with them by touching and feeding, and take photos as souvenirs. Entrance: 20RM including taking photos with the alpacas. The rabbits look like they’re in a sad state because some of them have abscess not sure because they fight or that they are kept in unhygienic conditions. They have clear rules about touching and feeding the alpacas, to ensure the safety of the visitors.
Donovan L — Google review
The alpaca is adorable and affectionate with the caretakers. Many people wonder why the prices are high, one of the reason is because the food must be imported. Nonetheless it's fantastic experience for both adults and kids.
Nya — Google review
A fun and fluffy stop hehe. One of the highlights of my trip. There were quite a number of alpacas and you get to touch them up close, super cute! Can feed them too for RM3 per bowl. Entry is RM20 per person and you get 30 mins with the alpacas + 10 mins with the rabbits. The place isn’t that big, so it made for a quick and easy stop. Plenty of parking available too. Honestly, not many people are giving this place the love it deserves compared to the cow farm, but really, both are equally fun. Just different vibes. This one’s totally worth a quick visit.

Golf course
Nestled at the base of Mount Kinabalu, Mount Kinabalu Golf Club offers a unique golfing experience at 1,500 meters above sea level, making it the highest golf layout in Sabah. On clear days, players are treated to breathtaking views of the magnificent Mount Kinabalu. The area is also known for its hiking trails that lead to the summit of Mount Kinabalu, offering trekkers stunning panoramic vistas.
Came here jsut for the buggy tour. View if the Mount Kinabalu can be seen from the golf course, provided not cloudy. Each buggy takes 2 people and guided by another buggy by the staff. Golf course is well maintained and actively being used by golfers. As we buggy tour, need to stay clear if there are players. All in tour is about 1 to 1.5 hours, passing all 18 holes. There is a cafe with morning nasilemak but the hygiene and cleanliness is questionable. Flies were flying about the uncovered food.

Beautiful scenery. Food is reasonably priced and delicious. It only had nasi leak buffet style but all the dishes tasted so good. The fried chicken is crispy and fresh!

I suggest you should come here early in the morning to have breakfast and see the beauty of mount kinabalu. The place is usually full of visitors. So make sure you come here as early as possible to get proper breakfast and great view!
Safrilia P — Google review
Don’t expect too much for the food. So-so and it’s so pricey, Cost me RM40 for these two plates of nasi lemak. And the place is full of fliessss, which made your dining experience became worse. The only plus point is the view =/

Magnificent and fantastic view of Mt Kinabalu from this point. looks unreal but it's real. they also provide @ sell food for breakfast here and definitely its the best view.
Min Z — Google review
I cannot say it is has the best maintained green but it has arguably the best view and high altitude atmosphere you can find. Rolling terrain and the magnificent backdrop makes the experience special. For non golfers a buggy tour of the golf course is an excellent option around the site.

State park
Kinabalu Park Headquarters is the main entrance to Kinabalu Park, located about 92 kilometers from Kota Kinabalu. It serves as the administrative office of Sabah and offers a visitors exhibition center, restaurants, and various amusements for tourists. The park features wonderful trails with abundant wild orchids and a well-maintained botanical garden.
Self drove here on a weekend and parking outside was already full at 8am. If you are just here to visit for a few hours and take photos... DON'T PARK OUTSIDE. DRIVE IN! At the kiosk entrance.. Tell the lady you want to drive in and park at Liwagu restaurant. Then park there for free.. Use the toilet. And take photos of the area. You can then take a short walk to visit the botanical gardens.. Such a nice place to visit.. See my photos. Then drive out and park at the visitor center. This will allow you to take photos of the mountain and use the toilet one final time before you leave the place in your car. No need to take long walks. Drive in drive out. Wish I had known this tip earlier!

Very good National park. There are lots of well marked and maintained trails and the biodiversity is staggering. Some trails were closed but the others were good however, when you feel as though you’re in the jungle, you’ll hear a car in the road adjacent and notice that you’re not as far in nature as you thought.

The registration office for Mount Kinabalu is where you get your number tag and arrange for your mandatory guide (RM350). For me, the wait for the shuttle to the Timpohon Gate was over 30 minutes because some of the vehicles had broken down. Everything else was fine.

A fascinating view from the peak, standing tall at 4095.2-m height. Hiked from Timpohon gate (entrance point) to Panalaban rest house for a distance of 6-Km and the next morning at 2.00am from Panalaban to the Peak of Mt. Kinabalu another 2.3-Km hike. It was an enjoyable journey, gaining new experience, testing self stamina, and endurance. At the same time, experiencing rock climbing, with beautiful nature (God's creation).

We joined a private Kinabalu mountain hike tour and had an unforgettable experience! The mountain guides were extremely professional – it was a 1-to-1 arrangement, and they made sure each of us was safe and well taken care of throughout the journey. We also hired porter services, so we didn’t have to carry heavy bags – which really helped us conserve energy for the climb. We spent 3 days and 2 nights on the mountain. The views were absolutely breathtaking, and we were lucky to have very good weather the entire time. After taking time to recharge, my wife pushed through and made it to the summit😆 Highly recommend this tour for anyone looking for a safe, supportive, and truly memorable Mount Kinabalu adventure!

Great experience to hike. Remember bring your bedsheets as the bed is not very hygiene from my perspective. Most of the hikers would not take their shower as the shower water cold like ice. Thus, most of them would directly lied on bed after sweat of hiking.

Walked from the Sutera sanctuary to the Timpohon gate. Nice steep walk on asphalt. Beautiful view of the mountain once up near the gate. Next time I'll take the Liwagu trail, hopefully it will be open fully by then.

We spent the day in the park, just walking up to the gate as we had no hiking boots and the trails were full of leeches :( We really enjoyed the paved road as well as its completely surrounded by jungle. We got to the timpohon gate where we had an instant coffee and a snack in the terrace and hiked a short 200 m trail uphill to reach a nice viewpoint of the mountain kinabalu. The trail it's just on the left 200 m before to reach the timpohon gate. We really enjoyed the walk as even not climbing Kinabalu we had a great view of it !

SS Chinese Restaurant 神山中餐厅 is a popular dining spot in Kundasang, Malaysia. Visitors have praised the restaurant for its accommodating staff who are willing to customize dishes for vegetarian preferences. The menu features a variety of Chinese dishes, with particular highlights being the buttered oyster mushrooms and ginger sautéed romaine. Guests appreciate the decent portion sizes and reasonable prices, making it a great option for a satisfying meal.
Really like the atmosphere out here. The background piano music is soothing while we enjoy the food here. We can even go outside on the balcony to indulge in the mountain view. Even got a free vegetable keychain before going out XD

Ordered 5 medium dishes with 7 people over dinner. The wild vegetables were okay (if you like crunchy texture), taste was alright. The sweet and sour fish tasted fishy and not fresh. We didn’t even finish this… Has no tomato/sweet sour taste. Would not recommend getting this unless you like fishy smell or taste. Curry pork was alright. Taste wise, pass. Fried mushroom was the best dish. Very flavorful tempura batter. The sizzling tofu was not very tasty. Tasted a bit too porky with strong pepper taste. The chinese tea was alright. Also, there were at least 5 sparrows flying over our heads in the restaurant. It was a foggy and cloudy day for us so no mountain view.

After reading the "mix" review, decided to give it a try. Ordered 1. Curry pork : Hoping it was "wild boar", but just normal pork. But it was good. The curry just had tue right amount of spice. (4/5) 2. Stir fry local vegie with garlic : Fresh vegie cooked with minced garlic. Good pairing with the Curry pork. Just some stems of the vegie is a bit chewy (4.5/5) 3. Fried Local Mushroom : Lightly seasoned mushroom fried to perfection. Light batter giving a light crispy crust and moist mushroom. (5/5) You can take very nice photo of Mt.Kinabalu while waiting for the food.

I was brought here by a guide. The strawberry pork was a surprise and it was sweet but retained the crunchiness very well. The wild veggies was very good especially if you like veggies with a bit of a crunch. The fried oysters also came with the homemade strawberry sauce which was a nice surprise.

Nice place in a beautiful location with good food. We had buffet breakfast as alacarte was not available until 11am. The buffet spread is tasty, good service but limited spread. I will go for alacarte next time and not buffet. Another issue is we need to buy the tickets to enter the park which is quite expensive for foreigners at RM50 per person which is a waste of you do not want to spend time at the park.

This restaurant is located within Liwagu Suites and nearby lodges, but it’s open to outsiders too. The prices are on the higher side. We tried a few dishes — the Ngiu Chiap (beef noodle soup) was disappointing, and the chicken burger was just average. The healthy salad, however, was excellent and fresh. The fish curry was okay, but lacked spice — I would’ve preferred it spicier 🌶️. Drinks were decent. Overall, a nice setting but food quality is mixed depending on what you order.

Buffet style breakfast, lunch and dinner for those staying in Kinabalu park HQ itself. We stayed at the Grace Lodge and walked over for food. And also had lunch here on the day we came down from Panalaban. The food is decent, the service is welcoming and warm and there are clean toilets with bidet. The weather is cool and slightly chilly in the morning but this makes al fresco dining very viable. there are excellent views of the peak from the restaurant.

Mainly a pitstop restaurant at the park for trekkers going up Mt Kinabalu the next morning. Buffet dishes are decent but dont be late. Nice big American Breakfast buffet spread to start your day.

Gonna be a top choice for dining option once you are in the park. Offers a mix of both western and Asian food, with a twist to local ingredients and flavours

They made our random date night so special. We arrived in bike, the weather was drizzling, they greeted us with hot hand towels. We saw they have a nice fire place but and asked if is possible for them to light it up, which they did it for us. The mushroom soup was superb, but the garlic toast was even heavenly, we asked if they could serve us 1 more piece and the chef was so generous! Food was great but service is what really wow us!

Arnab Village in Ranau, Sabah is a haven for animal lovers and families with small children. It is the first and largest rabbit park in Malaysia, home to over 1000 well-cared-for rabbits of various breeds such as Satin, Angora, Rex, New Zealand White, Holland hoop, Lionhead and Netherland Dwarf. The surroundings are clean and safe for visitors to interact closely with the friendly rabbits and other animals like tortoises.
We visited in 2025 and they gave an offer of rm13 for 2 sites. The first site is within the Arnab village compound which comprises of the playground, pet cemetery, rabbit farm and tortoise sanctuary. The 2nd site is the magical garden. The first site is very compact. I really do enjoy playing with the goat and the sheep’s. They are really grown up. I remember the goat and the sheep trying to grab the food at the food counter and they tried to force themselves in to grab the food. The counter girl quickly chase them out and close the door. Sooo cute.. As for the magical garden, after we exit from site 1, along the main road, we need to walk up about 150 meters to that destination.

It was raining when we came so we didn’t get to interact with all the animals like the tortoises and the ducks. But we did get to meet the many fluffy bunnies and it was nice that they let us pet and carry them. Its a pity that the cat mania was not open, would have loved to meet some local cats.
S A — Google review
Many of the rabbits looked like they were sick. However, it was still quite enjoyable as there were other animals too, not just rabbits
Akmal A — Google review
Not easily accessible but IMO it's worth the bumpy ride. You can pet the goats sheeps turtles. There's one goat quite aggressive he has his own pen. Kids still have fun tho. I wish this place has continued success

Arnab Village is a small but charming spot nestled deep in a rural area, so getting there can be a bit tricky due to the narrow, bumpy roads. There’s an entrance fee, but it’s worth it for a fun family outing. During our visit, the rabbits were kept in cages, but we could still feed and play with them, even take them out — which was a fun experience! Food for animals is available to purchase. The goats and sheep roaming freely were hilarious — some even tried to nibble on our clothes, clearly hungry and cheeky! 🐐😂 Chickens with unique “hairstyles” wandered around too, along with tortoises and geese. There are some cute, Instagrammable spots especially for kids. It was a very hot day when we went, and there wasn’t much shade, so do bring water, sunscreen, and maybe a portable fan. Overall, a great time — the kids loved it! Hope the place continues to be well-maintained.

Happy place, charming fairy-tale mushrooms and decoration. The turtles were great - they were curious and friendly. The chickens and sheep are cool and we love the friendly and mischievous goat! The goat and turtles are the best!! The bunnies had small cages :( so come for the turtles and the goat :)
Nardo — Google review
Rabbits, chicken, goose and turtle paradise. Animals had plenty roaming (and also pooping) space. Everything OK just that you need to endure the Snow White music being played.
Jeremy W — Google review
Just visited this place today. The place was nice but it is not well-maintained now. The most devastating thing to see is how unwell the rabbits were. Most of them were sick and should be quarantined, but they were placed in the same captivity even though it’s the different cages. There was a dead one lying in the cage, and a few others were timid and unresponsive. There were some younger hopeful ones which should be treated way better, not placed among the sick. It was a sad experience as the rabbits, which the place got it’s name from, should be well taken care off. Really hope that proper actions could be taken. Other animals like the tortoise, chickens and sheeps were in better health.

Nabalu Kundasang Lodge is a simple hotel located in Kundasang town, offering basic rooms with mountain views and complimentary breakfast. The lodge's location is convenient, with nearby eateries, shops, and a mosque. While the rooms are modest and lack amenities like air conditioning and mini-fridges, the overall comfort level is decent. Visitors can enjoy the fantastic mountain views from this quiet small town, although cloud cover tends to form later in the day.
Really beautiful place to stay in. It have beautiful scenery, day and night. Beautiful sunrise and sunset with the view of Mount Kinabalu. The room is clean, beautiful toilet, it's not big but just enough. Breakfast service was really good. The waiter was very kind and very thoughtful. They treat their customer very well. Love the place and will like to stay there again. :)

It’s an inexpensive hotel. The location is great - 5mins walk to the town centre. The rooms are nice but in need of maintenance. In Rm 508, Bidet and washbasin tap were leaking. Mattress needs to be flipped or changed - you can actually see in sagging in the middle. I think some of the floorboards need to be relaid or replaced. And I think there needs to be some brighter lighting in the room. I would add a screen door so that the room can be ventilated without allowing insects to fly in. But all in all, it was a quaint, rustic place to stay. Comfortable enough for a couple of nights.
Susheel J — Google review
Average accommodation for family travelers / vacation. Family room was big but no air cond, no TV, refrigerator not functioning, Only 1 fan at hall area. For the price of 500 bucks/2 nights it's NOT worth it. Consider expensive as compared to what they provided to you. 1st and last check in here, will never come back to this hotel. Room Security Lock system NOT at primary security par level. For room security I opted 1/10, seriously NOT safe at all.
Ruslizan O — Google review
Booked the king room with mountain view. The room was extremely spacious and comfy. Room and toilet were clean although everything does looks dated. Location is ideal as it is near most of the activities that you would want to do near kundasang. What was non ideal was the tap doesn't comes with hot water and the WiFi for my room was non existence. As the TV was internet only that means that is zero TV programs that you could watch. One point to note was that Celcom coverage is also bad in this hotel. Maxis is ok.

I'll just give a list of pros and cons PROS 1. Very central location. Close to town so whatever you need it is there. 2. Has a large restaurant with decent food. So if weather is bad, just eat in as they offer room service. 3. Ample parking 4. Towels were clean unlike previous comments. We used theirs though we brought our own just in case. 5. Beds were clean 6. Has a balcony so can dry clothes etc 7. Has TV with Netflix etc!! Plus for family 8. Wifi in room was ok 9. Hot shower ad tank is large so big family no issues. 10. Excellent service staff. Friendly and helpful. CONS 1. Tap water was a horror when it flowed out black sand and brown water for a good couple of minutes. A total turn off so we asked for extra bottles of water for cooking noodles and brush teeth. 2. Old place so old style furnishing and things are falling apart! 3. Toilet sewage smells a little. 4. The chalet had very very steep steps so it was horrible that we had to carry the luggage up and was not convenient for my 77 yo mum and 4yo boy so we requested a change of room to smaller one despite paying for the big room. 5. The doors at the chalet either had holes or is very shaky. Quite scary. The window at the door had no curtain so no privacy. Ppl can peep in if they want and see everything outside the room. 6. Got safe but can't use. It's broken. 7. Got coffee and cups but no teaspoon. Had to go restaurant to get some. No sugar provided. 8. Boiler leaking so we exchanged one. 9. We changed rooms for another reason. There was no TV at the chalet. They informed us during check in.

Very accomodating and friendly staff that helped us even when we checked in late because of our delayed flights. Rooms are basic but clean and with all the necessities in good condition (Twin rooms). There's hot water, but you need to use low water pressure which is no issue. Friend of mine asked me to turn on the aircon, but there's none since we're already 1700m above sea level. (There is a ceiling fan however). Good location on the main road leading into Kundasang town center roundabout, meaning you're very close to shops and other attractions. Also less than 15 minutes away from Kinabalu Park entrance.

I booked a deluxe twin room. But when I arrived around 3.00pm, they experienced black out and couldn't issue the room key card. They gave me the room though. I waited for an hour and a half in the room but they still couldn't fix the electricity. So they upgraded my room to chalet free of charge. The water pressure is low. They have water heater but if you take a longer shower, the hot water will run out. They have a restaurant within walking distance. The Kundasang town is just 5 minutes driving. The staff are friendly. The room is clean.

Easy to find, very conveniently located near Kundasang shops. Short drive or walking distance to The shops and stalls of Kundasang. The area is clean and relaxing. A restaurant is available in this property. You can also easily walk to the "Inilah Kundasang" street sign to take photos since parking is an issue. There are also restrooms available in this location.

Hounon Ridge Farmstay & Camping

4.4
(914)
Hounon Ridge Farmstay & Camping is a lodge and campground nestled in the Highlands countryside, about 100 kilometers from Kota Kinabalu. The journey to this rainforest retreat takes around 2.5 hours, offering visitors breathtaking views of Mount Kinabalu and the surrounding nature. The accommodation includes basic rooms with shared kitchen facilities, while campers can enjoy ample space for a comfortable stay.
We stayed at Hounon Ridge Farmstay & Camping for 2 nights and were absolutely blown away by the stunning views of Kundasang and Mount Kinabalu. Waking up to the majestic mountain scenery and peaceful surroundings was a truly unforgettable experience. The cool air and natural setting made it the perfect spot to unwind. Breakfast was included and simple yet satisfying. The rooms and shared spaces were clean and cozy, and the staff were friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. That said, getting there is not for the faint-hearted. The drive from the city to Ranau and up to the accommodation was quite terrifying at times, with damaged roads, steep uphill sections, and areas affected by landslides (tanah runtuh). We highly recommend driving a higher-powered vehicle, as the route includes sharp climbs and uneven surfaces where a stronger engine makes a real difference. Despite the challenging journey, the incredible views and peaceful atmosphere at the top made it all worth it. A perfect mountain retreat — just come prepared!

The hotel is beautiful, the was quite small for us three, food was ok can be improve. But the scenery is superb. Quick note to everyone who want to stay in this hotel. Its quite far in from Kundasang and if you guys rented a car, please get a Pick-up truck or SUV. The roads are pretty bad. We kind a regret drove Bezza.
Naim ( — Google review
Stayed here with family on March 2025, when my brother in law came to visit. The road leading to the lodging is quite bumpy and goes far into the interior, so do expect a bit of a rough drive. Getting a clear view of Mount Kinabalu is entirely up to luck the weather plays a big role. If it rained the day before, the chances of seeing the mountain are low due to mist or clouds. The farmstay is located in Bundutuhan, which is slightly farther from the actual base of Mount Kinabalu. The surrounding area is spacious and green, but can get muddy during rainy days. There are basic cooking and BBQ facilities available outdoor. No kitchen available indoor or in the room. The room itself is nothing fancy, but comfortable enough for a simple overnight stay. This place is quite popular on Xiao Hong Shu, so it can get crowded during peak seasons. There’s also an on-site restaurant with a simple menu, the food was okay, but nothing memorable. Room rates are budget friendly, and they also offer camping options around the area. The staff were polite but not particularly proactive or helpful, don’t expect much assistance, and it's quite hard to locate them at the reception if you need anything. One thing to note is you’ll need to remove your shoes before entering the main building. If your room is on the upper floor, you’ll be walking barefoot or in socks upstairs. Overall, it was just an okay experience not bad, but nothing memorable either.

The scenery is breathtaking! It's a bit chilly up here, so prepare your sweaters and jackets. It was pori g rain when we're here, so before going, you might want to check the weather
Liyana A — Google review
Stayed for a night here. Honestly, nothing much to highlight about the accommodation itself — it was really just the view of Mount Kinabalu that stood out (though, to be fair, many other places in the area also offer that view). Check-in was fine. If the receptionist isn’t around, you’ll need to call the number on the counter card, or wait until a passing staff member to inform the receptionist of your presence. The room was reasonably clean, but in my opinion, not worth the price compared to other nearby options. The toilet looks better than the room itself. To make matters worse, there was a power outage from about 11 pm until 4 am. Luckily, it rained throughout the night, otherwise the room would have been unbearably stuffy. Oddly enough, the spotlight outside our room was still working during the outage 🤔. Breakfast was included, but quite disappointing. Understandably, ingredients may be harder to source in this area, but the spread was so uninspiring that I didn’t even feel like taking photos. Service was another letdown. The three staff on duty at the canteen (two ladies, one gentleman) were unfriendly, almost as if we were inconveniencing them. An elderly lady even wrongly accused me of not handing over my breakfast voucher, despite the fact I’d been eating for over 30 minutes by then. Thankfully, her colleague corrected her, but the interaction left a sour taste. The food itself wasn’t appetising, though I still ate a little out of my “Asian mindset” — wanting to at least get some value for what I paid. Overall, while I do plan to return to Kundasang in the future, this accommodation won’t be on my list again. Side note: If you’re driving a rental car, please take extra care on the way here. The road conditions are terrible, with multiple metal rods sticking out — a real risk for puncturing your tyres.
Yat N — Google review
overall a pretty decent budget accommodation boasting excellent views. booked the dormitory to stay and contacted them through whatsapp (they were very responsive and quick with my questions 👍) it is pretty far from everything (minimally 30min drive from the main road to the accoms), but i would say its very worth the rocky and hilly 30min drive in, given the amazing views. love the late check in (latest 9pm) as it is really accommodating and check-in was quick and fuss free. RM60/night for a single bed in the dorms, with a shared toilet next to the dorms. it’s an open air toilet so do expect many bugs around. there are hangers in the showers to hang your clothes, not bad! the dorms were generally clean although the insect nets covering the doors are broken so bugs do find their way in (prepare insect repellent!!) there’s a cafe located in the accoms (opening hours are 7am-11am and 5pm-9pm) with 7am-930am being buffet breakfast. food cooked by the chef was good and menu items were affordable and delicious. there’s tables and chairs and a patio around the accoms, very vibes to chill and enjoy a meal! cons: - only 2 plugs located in one corner of the room, so best to bring an extension cord so there’s sufficient plugs for everyone - broken insect netting in the rooms means insects find their way in - no toilet paper, bring your own - room has no fan or anything, ventilation pretty poor if room was packed but during my 4 night stay i was alone so wasn’t that bad - very far out from the main road, no facilities nearby (outside food etc. are minimally 30min away but there’s a cafe in the accoms so you’ll be able to find food) overall, a very pleasant 4 night stay with friendly staff. will be back!

Good place for short trip ~ Pros : Affordable and clean Very nice view which can see Mount Kota Kinabalu There are 3 cats here which can play with during night time There is a cafe open 5-9pm Breakfast provided for 2 person per room and if you are having a quad room (4persons) have to add on 2 more person RM 20 each Cons: Road conditions is quite poor which is very challenging, might need to be more careful Nothing much can do during night time

August Kitchen is a spacious and clean restaurant located opposite the Strawberry Garden Lodge in Kundasang. The ambience gives off a Western diner vibe, and it offers Asian fusion food and beverages without pork. The friendly owner and staff provide helpful service, with food servings varying depending on visiting hours. Guests can enjoy cheesy Beef Pepperoni Pizza, crispy Chicken Wings, flavorful grill chicken, and lamb dishes. However, some feel that the cake could be improved in taste.
THE BEST RESTAURANT IN KUNDASANG! The food is big portion and taste really good 👍. It's my first time dine in. The staff were very professional, respectful and friendly. We ordered fish & chips and chicken chop rice only for RM59. Worth every penny. I will definitely eat here again when coming to kundasang. I really recommend everyone to come here for lunch and dinner.

Came for an early dinner as we were struggling to find somewhere nearby that would be suitable for the whole family. Service was excellent (although we were the only ones in there). View is pretty awesome. Food was fine. Hot, fresh and generous servings. Also had a kids meal available (with free sticker activity), so our youngest was happy. As others have said, parking is a little limited, but wasn't an issue at the time we arrived. Also, be aware that they are closed between 3-5pm on weekdays.

Sometimes google reviews are seems so fake , we have came for dinner trusted blindly of this google reviews but ended up very disappointed. Our dinner cost RM94 for 2 pax really not worth the price. The chicken was raw inside not cooked throughly. As im a pregnant lady felt so bad after saw the condition of the chicken. Complained to the staff about it and they just said a sorry only. However we still paid for the lousy chicken. Dont ever recommend such a bad shop like this.

We eat at August Kitchen at kundasan for Lunch & Dinner. Cos we found out that there was not much nice food in kundasan. This restaurant was my main choose for their taste & potion of food. Every things we order was good. Their Coffee is nice also with big cup. Their ice scream coffee was nice must try. choose the restaurant remanded one will not go wrong. It was worth it to eat here compare to other at Kundasan. Will come again if visit Kundasan. If they put food picture in their menu that will be more great for people to have more confidence to choose their food. Keep up the good work.

Came here as reviews said the food here was good and portions were big. They were right! Food is tasty. However the food took 40 mins to arrive.. During dinnertime on a weekday when the place was not even half full. Be aware of this before you arrive. Parking is also a challenge especially during dinnertime as this place shares the small limited dead end carpark as the hotel next door.. At night, not much parking as hotel guests would have returned. Also it's easy to overshoot this place.. It's on a small hill. Have to drive up a steep incline to get here. Miss the turn and you have to U turn back at 99 speedmart down the road. Overall won't come back here unless desperate and nothing else to eat.

Ordered the lamb chop, tom yum and Hawaiian pizza. Loved every bit of it and definitely worth every penny. A new spot to have a meal with lots of choices that are affordable, good quality and delicious !

Delicious food definitely. Although the price is on the high but for me it’s a price that can be paid as the food is delicious. It is located next to Strawberry Garden Kundasang Hotel. Went during off season and was empty so our service was fast. I expected it to be more full during major holiday. Would definitely come here again during my next visit. Parking is limited and can be a challenge to park if many people.

Clean, spacious and nice music makes this a great restaurant to chill around and gather with friends and family. The restaurant serves a good variety of western and Asian cuisine, coupled with a decent option of vegetarian dishes. While the food wasn't spectacular it was pretty good as compared to many of the restaurants that we have tried in the area. Service was prompt and the staff was friendly too.

Kiaburi Chicken Rice is a popular spot known for its delicious Nasi Ayam and flavorful mee Tomyam. Customers appreciate the convenience of online ordering, which takes priority over in-person orders to minimize wait times. Additionally, the establishment offers a Surau for Jamak Prayer, catering to Muslim patrons. With its tasty chicken rice and efficient service, Kiaburi Chicken Rice has become a favorite dining destination for many visitors.
me n my fellow worker went there for dinner yesterday n all of us enjoyed the fwud..all of it was delicious..i order nasi ayam penyet n yeps i satisfied with all but one thing which is the sambal, its kinda cold..but personally i really love the sup kosong cuz it taste fancier to be "sup kosong"..its like beef broth to me..as a soup lover, this restaurant remark as one of my favourite restaurant at ranau..so overall i give 5 star

I went there with my friend during lunch hour. When we arrived there , just a few customer dining in the restaurant, but yet the waiter/waitress is busy walking around and didn’t notice us calling them to pick up order. Im not sure if the air conditioner was turned on because the front door is widely open. Although the fan all turned on at full speed but it’s still kinda hot. I like that they provide sink for washing hand beside the front door. We didn’t ordered any main dish, just ordered some desserts. We ordered two types of waffles, kaya and chocolate waffles. The waffles are soft and fluffy, but its served in a paper bag. Since we are dining and not for take out, i think it’s better to serve it on a plate and provide some cutlery for us. Same for the corn with mayonnaise, it’s feels like i was buying from a stall. Just my opinion, maybe it should be more presentable for dining in. My biggest disappointment is the ABC, It cost us RM8. In my vision, the ABC should be a shaved ice and easily scooped, but instead a big iceberg is served. I poke the ice using spoon, it was a solid ice so we waited for the ice to melt a bit, well great news is since it’s already hot inside , don’t need to wait too long for the ice to melt. Not recommended to try the ABC.

Service is a bit on the slow side. Went and ordered a simple chicken rice and it took them more than 15 minutes to fulfill the order. For a local, the price is moderate, but I'd say the quality is so-so, especially for such a hyped restaurant. TL;DR : it's quite okay if you're looking for a place to enjoy chicken rice, but be prepared to wait a little longer than usual.

Ordered Chicken Rice (Roasted) and Chicken Rice Lemon. Upon arriving, the Lemon Chicken Rice is somewhere weird. Not looking like Chicken Rice Lemon at all. Even the taste is more into sour but not lemony. For Chicken Rice (Roasted) taste is ok. Not bad. The one thing I like it here is the so called free flow soup. Refill as many you want throughout your meal if you can. Portion size is a bit disappointing. A bit small, but a bit more expensive. I can compare it with Benoni's Borneo Chicken Rice. Benoni BCR is offering much larger portion of chicken, very fast service but yet the price is only RM6.50 for normal chicken part and RM7.50 for thigh part. Here chicken rice starts at RM9.00 if I'm not mistaken. Non air-conditioning too. Perhaps it's because Ranau is so much further away from KK compared to Benoni. So it's ok.

Mountain peak
Mount Kinabalu, standing at 13,435 feet, is a majestic peak located in Mount Kinabalu National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Malaysia. The park is home to diverse flora and fauna, including orangutans. Trekking to the summit offers breathtaking panoramic views that are truly awe-inspiring. Porters are available for hire to help carry equipment up the mountain.
An amazing experience. Even though the cost for foreigners is INSANE, I had a great time. The sunrise is really the highlight so make sure you make it up in time. For seasoned hikers this summit is super easy, I made it up in 4.5 hours total. The infrastructure on the route is impressive but the amount of stairs really takes away from the climb, I found it incredibly easy.

Great mountain for natural reserved views. There’s many activities available such as ATV/ paragliding. Can consider to join a tour if don’t want to drive up. Paragliding waited for 3 hours which not that efficient. Play time was for only 4 minutes. Weather changes fast so must check make sure the weather is good before heading there. ATV is true jungle like. Huge and fun. Mountain view is great with cloud in the middle of the mountain

Tired but worth. Epic view from the highest mountain in Malaysia and made every step to the top became valuable. Come at least once before you still able to make it❤️

My greatest achievement in life has been to conquer a mountain peak. It brings real satisfaction at my age of 52 years old. It was quite challenging, but the scenery made all the effort feel worthwhile. I highly recommend this experience to all Malaysians.

Mount Kinabalu is the tallest peak in Malaysia and the only place where your enthusiasm will be the first thing to run out of oxygen. At 4,095 meters, it’s a stunning climb that rewards you with breathtaking sunrise views… if your legs haven’t given out by then. The trail starts off deceptively easy, lulling you into a false sense of security before hitting you with staircases designed by a sadist. Somewhere around Laban Rata, you start gasping for air, but the eerie, otherworldly granite landscape at the summit makes it all worth it—just don’t think about the long way back down.

It took me two attempts to summit Mount Kinabalu, and it was absolutely worth every effort. As a Malaysian, I believe it’s a must to conquer it at least once in a lifetime. While it’s not the most technically challenging hike, it does require a decent level of fitness and endurance, as the trail from Timpohon Gate to Low’s Peak consists mostly of steep slopes and endless stairs ascents. My best advice? Start early. Begin your hike from Timpohon Gate before 9 a.m. if possible. Start your summit push to Low’s Peak by 2:30 a.m. at the latest, you don’t want to miss the breathtaking sunrise from the summit. When descending from Panalaban, aim to leave before 11:30 a.m. to avoid the eerie dimness of the forest later in the day, the sun set around 620pm. Most importantly, respect the mountain. Don’t underestimate it. Be well-prepared, especially when it comes to your clothing, medication, and energy supplies, also you should be aware of acute mountain sickness (AMS). Good luck to all future climbers and congratulations to those who’ve reached the summit!

The peak of kinabalu is amazing. It's worth seeing, even if you don't plan on going to the top (the entrance is outrageously expensive). You have to plan your visit to this place well, because it's quite difficult to get there by public transport, we chose an organized tour (it cost quite a lot - I have doubts whether the attractions vs. the price were worth it). Probably a much better way is to rent a car, then you have no restrictions and you can organize the trip according to your needs. Regardless, I recommend seeing this mountain. Near the top there are other attractions such as a fish spa, canopy walk, and you can also see the largest flower in the world, the rafflesia. Everyone will find attractions here that are just right for them.

1. Start at 9 am on 28.08.2025. 2. Took 3.15 hours to reach Pondok Layang-Layang. 3. Wind begins to start very strong and with rain. 4. Had quick lunch and with rain coat starts walking again. 5. Strong wind and rain all the way to Panabalan. 6. Temperature was cold, 8 Celsius. 7. Time for dinner and rest. 8. Got up and ready for supper at 2am. 9. Ready for summit attack. 10. Officer came to announce that summit is closed due to strong wind. 11. It was a great experience and given another chance, would like to make it to Summit.

Nestled within the breathtaking Mount Kinabalu, the Mount Kinabalu Botanical Garden is a paradise for nature lovers. The well-maintained trails offer a leisurely stroll amidst a diverse array of vibrant flowers, exotic plants, and rare orchids. Visitors can revel in the tranquil atmosphere with the soothing sound of flowing water and the harmonious melodies of birds and insects. The garden's affordable entrance fee makes it an accessible destination for immersing oneself in nature's wonders.
I visited the botanical garden in Kinabalu Park. The air was very clear in the morning, and the temperature was around 25 degrees, which was cool and didn't make me tired even while walking. In this botanical garden, you can observe many endemic and wild plants of Borneo, such as orchids, ferns, mosses, and carnivorous plants. It is a must-visit spot for plant lovers! There are quite a few insects, so if you're not fond of them, please take insect repellent measures. We enjoyed the botanical garden with explanations about the plants from a local guide. If you are staying at a hotel near Kinabalu Park and can visit this park early in the morning, you can enjoy birdwatching. Please give it a try.

We visited Kinabalu Park as part of a guided day tour, and our primary focus was the Botanical Garden within the vast and picturesque park. Though our tour covered the entry fees — RM 50 for foreign visitors to the park and RM 5 for the Botanical Garden. We felt the visit was worthwhile as a brief stop amidst other local attractions. While the garden showcases a variety of flora, our experience would have been better had there been more orchids and any Rafflesia in bloom. If you're primarily interested in wildlife, be advised that animal sightings were limited to the occasional squirrel, lizard, and butterflies. The garden does offer a chance to appreciate the delicate beauty of a damp forest environment. We did not hike Mount Kinabalu, which wasn’t part of our itinerary, thus our exploration was restricted to the paths. We spent around 30 minutes wandering through the garden before moving on. Overall, while it may not warrant a dedicated trip, it serves as a pleasant interlude in a day filled with other local sights.

People will see different value in the botanical gardens depending on their level of interest in plants and whether or not they have a guide to explain things to them or not. This was an additional fee to the national park entry however from memory this was a very low fee. I came here by myself unguided and to me, the main appeal was just the photography. I got lucky in that there was a low hanging mist and fog through the gardens which made for some cool photos. However I think you would get more value from this if you did it with a guide who could point out the different types of plants to you. The Browne Town.

Located within the Kinabalu Park, and known for its rich biodiversity and well-maintained trails. You can choose to explore it on your own or hire an optional guide to enhance your experience with detailed insights into the unique flora, including rare orchids and pitcher plants. The trek takes approximately 15 to 45 minutes, depending on your pace and curiosity. With easy-to-navigate paths and scenic surroundings, it’s an excellent spot for a peaceful stroll amidst nature.

Park
Kinabalu National Park, located at the base of Mount Kinabalu, is a sprawling forested area that serves as a crucial conservation hub for the diverse flora and fauna found in varying altitudes. Divided into three zones - Lower Kinabalu, Upper Kinabalu, and Crater Rim - the park offers an orchid garden, butterfly house, birdwatching platforms, and various trekking opportunities.
We had a guide and benefitted from it. Good trails around forest and tree top walk. Saw Giant Squirrel here and it was massive. Only to be followed by a dwarf one!

Was lucky to spot a flying squirrel, whitehead trogon among many treks available in the national park. Best place to stay and hike and amazing food just outside the entrance :)

Well organised and well maintained park administration. Calm and a scenic hiking trails. Easy to do without any guide. Those who want to be out of city life and be close to nature, this will be a good option. We took the longest route and it was a good exercise thou😁

You can park inside the park. Just pay 5 RM at the gate together with the park fee (RM 50 per adult, 25 per child). No need to book in advance. Cash only. Inside, there are many trails. We parked at the restaurant and hiked 3 different trails. It is very nice but a bit tricky to find the entrances. Once on the path, it is beautiful.

Fantastic park with a relatively low cost entrance fee that allows you to take in a lot of the most beautiful natural beauty in KK. A mix of short/long, easy/difficult trails allows you to self-select and plan a route that gives you the greatest experience for the time allotted for your trip.

Beautiful and well maintained park, always busy in the morning full of climbers registration for climbing Mount Kinabalu. But, after that will be pretty quiet. Can see the summit clearly from here in the morning.

Kinabalu Park, the World Heritage Site covers an area of 754 sq km was gazetted as a park in 1964.The basis for the establishment of a protected area in Kinabalu were formed after a report from the Royal Society Kinabalu Scientific expedition in 1962-1964 led by Prof. Corner. It is the first Park in the Malaysian Borneo's state of Sabah. Its main feature is Mount Kinabalu (4,095.2 m), the highest mountain between the Himalayas and New Guinea. Its slope is home to a rich assemblage of plants and animal species. It is a hot spot of particularly the plant biodiversity with affinities to flora from the Himalayas, China, Australia, Malay Peninsula, as well as pan-tropical region.

Nestled in the Mesilou Highland, the Mesilou Highland Strawberry Farm offers more than just strawberries. Visitors can wander through the farm and marvel at a variety of vegetables, herbs, and flowers grown in different creative ways. For a fee, guests can pluck fruits, vegetables, or leaves to take home. The farm also features a cafe where visitors can indulge in all sorts of strawberry-themed treats.
Just had an amazing time at Mesilou Highland Strawberry Farm! 🍓🌿 The view from up here is absolutely stunning — cool mountain breeze, fresh air, and the lush green scenery all around. I got to pick my own strawberries straight from the garden, and they were so sweet and juicy! The staff were really friendly too, explaining how the strawberries are grown and letting us take our time exploring. It’s such a peaceful spot to relax, take some great photos, and enjoy a cup of fresh strawberry juice or ice cream. Definitely a must-visit if you’re in Kundasang or Mesilou area — a perfect mix of nature, freshness, and fun! 🍓✨
MOHAMAD K — Google review
We drove about 2+ hours to get there but left disappointed after barely 10 minutes because there was nothing much to do and see in this farm. The farm is as big as a backyard and you can barely see any strawberries. There is a little cafe with a few strawberry tarts and cakes. Manage your expectations.
Stardust C — Google review
Not much to see and do, even if you come for picture taking would barely make it worthwhile. It’s a very small compound consisting of a strawberry farm (to say it’s a farm is an overstatement, a small cafe and a souvenir shop - all of which is very abysmal. What more after I pay RM 3 for parking. The strawberry pie is a standout however and must try!
Ahmad R — Google review
don’t waste your time to come here, really nothing much to see and they still charge 5RM for the entrance fee. The strawberries were not in season so there’s nothing to pluck. We bought a punnet of strawberries (18RM) and it’s not even that sweet. Felt that it’s overpriced. They also have some pop up stalls selling strawberry dipped in chocolate and other souvenirs. Nothing much to do here.

Mesilou Highland Strawberry Farm 🍓 turned out just as I hoped . a nice escape to sit back and breathe in the cool air. Even when the crowd slowly came in, the calm atmosphere stayed the same. Sitting upstairs felt relaxing, with a simple view that matched the mood. The cake and chocolate strawberries were delightful, especially for true strawberry lovers. But what stood out most for me was the strawberry matcha!perfectly balanced, refreshing, and something I’d come back for again. A place that doesn’t try too hard, yet leaves you satisfied in the simplest way ❤️

A modest strawberry farm. The entry fee is RM3. Strawberries were there but scarce, so there wasn't much to do or see. There's a small coffee shop selling 🍓focused desserts/ pastries/ drinks.

1. No strawberries top pluck. 2. Cafe cake is too sweet, and full of colouring, not my type of food, even my kids not ok with it. The coffee is instant coffee. Very disappointed. 3. The view is good. 4. The strawberry drink is too sweet.

A popular stopover after visiting the Desa Farm in Kundasang. Entrance road to this farm is not well maintained. Reasonable entrance fee of RM3 per pax. The place is not big and there are not many spots you can visit. Most visitors stop by for desserts that made of strawberries.

Desa Dairy Farm Entrance

4.6
(460)
Desa Dairy Farm entrance is often compared to the dairy farms of New Zealand due to its cool climate, misty surroundings, and highland landscapes. The farm spans 199 hectares and produces a staggering 900,000 liters of milk annually, mainly from Holstein Friesians cows known for their exceptional milk production. Visitors can explore the farm at their own pace as there are no guided tours despite online ticket bookings.
Desa Dairy farm in KK is definitely worth a visit. If you have the time, come on a weekday to avoid the crowds. Don’t miss their coffee milk and yogurt gelato — both are fresh and delicious. The cool weather and beautiful scenery make it a relaxing spot to spend a few hours.
Lance T — Google review
TIP: Buy tickets online before you arrive (MYR 5.00 only for a Malaysian adult). The website is a bit of a pain really, as you need to register for an account AND verify your email, before you can book and pay for the tickets. Extremely inconvenient as you’d probably only come here one time so there is actually no need to “register” for an account. They should allow visitors to just register as a “guest” as many other ticketing website now allows. Once you have successfully managed to book and pay for your tickets online, you only need to show the booking to the attendant at the entrance to the farm, then drive up to the many parking spots available around the area. Come here early morning around 8:00am as this will give you the best chance to take photos with a clear view of Kinabalu in the background (and avoid the crowd). After 10:00am clouds usually move in and obscure the peak. There are many good places for this, around the compound. The gelato and yoghurt are a must-try, don’t miss them. They’re worth the (usually) long queues.
Halimi A — Google review
Visited Desa Dairy Farm recently — the highlight is definitely the stunning landscape. With Mount Kinabalu in the background, a cool, breezy wind, and wide green fields, it really feels like a slice of Europe right here in Sabah. The scenery alone makes it worth seeing at least once. It’s basically a dairy farm with a small park area, great for photos and to let kids see the cows up close. Their dairy products are nice but quite expensive compared to normal retail prices. Be prepared for crowds — the place is very packed, especially on weekends. Parking is always full, so you’ll likely need to park outside and walk quite a distance, which isn’t very suitable for older visitors. All in all, it’s worth visiting once for the view and the experience — but once is probably enoug

Nice dairy cow farm with majestic mountain view. However, mountain is not visible during rainy weather. Ice cream was fabulous. Rich and creamy. Buy tickets online beforehand to book your slots.
Mohan K — Google review
It's a so-so kind of experience. Had to pay before entering the property, in your car. If you want the picture with the white fence in overlooking the cow's grazing field, you should do it at the left side of the main entrance, before you enter the property. I didn't see any area similar to this inside the property. The place is huge with a number of things to do such as feeding the calves and goats with no additional charges; but you do have to purchase the grass and milk at a designated counter for RM2 each. There is also the barn where you can go and see the adult cows. Around the area were a lot of flowers, so a photo opt. They sell their products such as "ice cream" or they call it gelato (to me it was not an ice cream nor a gelato, it's more like a frozen yoghurt because the texture and taste were a bit sour like yoghurt. I don't know for other flavours but the original one was definitely a frozen yoghurt). They also sell pizza, sausages, nuggets, fries, milk cartons and yoghurts. They have several stations selling their goods such as the main building, tents outside the main building and a cafe a bit further up the parking area. Just keep an eye out for them and avoid the very long queue at the main building just to buy them. If you go in the morning maybe it'll be a bit cold but we arrived almost at noon so the wheather was just nice. Not too cold. I think that's about it. Overall was just okay. I just think that they should clarify clearly that the ice cream is frozen yoghurt in essence. I had my hope up for a creamy and delicious ice cream. I was very much bummed 😔
Amira S — Google review
This place is over rated by the social media. Nothing much to see actually as all the cows grazing are much too far away to have a close up photo taking. Not many of them though. Those in the barn are just lazing around in a confinement area. The only reason that tourist are flocking in maybe because of the ideal location for photo taking of the kinabalu mountain as background. You will be fortunate to have the view if the clouds are not hovering on top of the mountain peak. The ice cream sold here are nice but at premium price. Anyway its a one time visit only for me. Will not be going back here if Im in Kundasang again.

Hidden Hill Kundasang is a picturesque homestay offering mesmerizing views of Mount Kinabalu. The place provides a calming and healing vibe, making it perfect for a peaceful getaway. Visitors can enjoy the stunning scenery from the balcony or windows and take advantage of various photo spots for social media-worthy photoshoots. The homestay also offers Japanese anime character costumes and a variety of kimonos for visitors to dress up in while exploring the beautiful surroundings.
Highly suggest to drive in with four-wheel cars coz the path going in is very rough with many potholes, quite hard to parking as well. Staff are very helpful and responsive to our requests. We happened to stay in the mid-floor and the floor is super thin. You can heard the upstairs walking and talking, not recommended for light sleepers. Also shower is not strong nor very hot to a hot-shower-obsessor like me. An upside is that their beds are really comfy, sheets are clean too. They also provide good appliances like fridge, grills, stove and pots, you can get groceries from the nearby markets to cook meals. They have free yukata rental for in-house guest, if you are interested to be in costume ~ Of course the view from the stay is amazing, you only have to cross your fingers for nice weather to see great sunrises.

The place is beautiful. However the road there is quite bumpy and narrow. But the staffs is willing to assist and they're friendly. You have to walk a little bit more to reach the place. You can rent a kimono there and take pictures with your friends and family. However, there's entry fee and it comes with free drinks. Beautiful scenery.

From here, u can see the view of Mount Gunung Kinabalu summit. Its quite pretty. Japanese concept. You can take a picture wear the Japanese attire with RM29 fee per person. Entrance fee is RM10 for adult and RM5 for child. Got free drink for each person. There is Japan food here too. But, the parking inside is limited. You need to park at the hill and going down to the premise. After finish exploring the view and taking picture, u need to hike again the hill going to the parking. 😆 Quite tired and a little bit exercise by hiking.

The road to reach here is quite challenging almost like an off-road experience, with some very deep holes along the way. But once you arrive, the place is really unique compared to others, with a beautiful Japanese theme that makes it stand out. My mom also rented a kimono here, and the price was reasonable and it really added to the whole Japanese vibe and made our visit even more special. 👘 It would be even better if the access road could be improved, as this would make the journey safer and more comfortable for visitors. I believe more people would love to come if the road conditions were upgraded. Overall, it’s a special and memorable spot. definitely worth the effort to experience something different in Kundasang!

We stayed at Hidden Hill for one night. Overall, the view from the room was amazing and definitely a highlight of the stay. However, I feel the toilet design could be improved — there’s no privacy for the standing shower. That said, it might be intentional due to the Japanese-style room design, which encourages guests to experience the traditional seated shower. The only major concern is the road leading to the resort. It’s very narrow, in poor condition with many potholes, and quite steep in some areas. If you’re planning to drive, do so slowly and carefully, and make sure your brakes are in good condition!
Yekyek — Google review
The view was really everything! Do book on the highest floor as the view from there is much better than the second floor. Some disclaimers is that the amenities aren’t great for cooking as there are limited plates and fridge space etc but they do provide bbq pit and have pretty affordable room service. The noise isolation between levels is also not great for light sleepers although i’m a deep sleeper so there was no problem for me but my downstairs neighbours did come up in the middle of the night to ask us to keep it down. The drive to this location is quite challenging, as many parts are uphill, single lane only, and very very steep so definitely do manage your expectations. The staff here however are the sweetest and very accommodating and the view from the rooms really do make up for all the other short comings :)

Tried their lunch after reading some good reviews. Foods were disappointing, 2 of the dishes I wanted are not available. So ended up ordering their fried mushroom which was tasteless to go with their sour chilly sauce. My aunty wanted to try their Pork Vinegar and the pork given were very fat. We usually don’t waste our foods but no choice it’s really teruk. As she said the foods at Kundasang are not nice, can’t agree more. Attached both dishes here.

Bw Bus Restaurant, located in Kundasang, is a unique and intriguing dining spot that offers delicious Chinese and seafood dishes. The restaurant is set inside modified buses, providing an interesting dining experience. While the food may not be the best around, with dishes like crispy fried prawns, black pepper crab, and grilled fish on offer, it's definitely worth a visit for the novelty of dining inside a bus.
Had an interesting and fun experience at BW Bus Ranau! 🚌 There are about 4 buses converted into dining spaces, and you’ll need to buy a RM5 ticket per person, which you can use to redeem for food or drinks. A pretty cool concept! The buses are clean, comfy, and air-conditioned ❄️—each one has its own aircond and an additional air cooler to keep things chill. You can even help yourself to sauces or ketchup to suit your taste. The food choices are quite varied and appealing 🍔🍟, something for everyone! Ordering is simple: place your order at the counter, and they’ll give you a bus number and table number. Luckily, when we went, it wasn’t crowded, so my friends and I got to choose our own seats freely. The staff were friendly and brought our food right to our seats 🍽️. Toilets? Plenty of them and very clean 🚻. There’s also a handwashing area, and they even provide umbrellas ☔ in case it rains—super thoughtful! The place is located by the roadside and easy to find with clear signboards 🪧. Only downside? The drinks are a bit pricey 🥤 for my liking. But overall, it's definitely worth a visit and I'd love to come back to try more from their menu. Great vibes and unique dining concept! Would recommend! Pro Tip: Go during off-peak hours for a more chill experience!

Best place for coffee I found in Kundasang if you're a digital nomad, this is a good place to work from with the laptop. But stick to coffee, avoid the food. They have power outlet plugs, two AC per bus. The Latte is a bit too expensive (RM12) for its average quality (only one shot, beans quality is average), and so is the food. The service is fast. The fries with the burger arrived cold and undercooked, the patty of the burger was bad quality and I would have appreciated the bread to be toasted. The soup with the bread was good. The garlic soy chicken with rice had a lot of fat on the meat, tasted so-so and even the rice was not good. I don't like to waste food, but we couldn't finish the plates because of the poor quality sadly. The concept of being on a bus is cool, you're protected from the rain and that's what you pay more for coming here. I was put off at first because they ask you to pay RM5 to enter, but then you get them back by ordering coffee or food, so that's okay. Just an unnecessary paperwork ticket in my opinion, but I think I understand they have to do this otherwise people might come to hangout and use the facilities without paying. Overall, I'll come back for coffee and work from the place, but I'll probably avoid the food next time unless I see improvements

A wonderful experience in this bus restaurant which I have never encountered in other parts of Malaysia. This place is cleverly designed as the owner used 4 retro school buses to set up the restaurant and the staff will pass you the bus number upon ordering the food. My friend and I ordered some chicken wings and rice (I have forgotten to take pictures of) and I must admit they taste amazing! Overall a great hang out place for family or group outing

Nice atmosphere especially you are with kids. A meal in bus. Entry fee MYR 5 per person and can use to offset the food. Foods and drinks has room to improve, Food portion just nice at average higher price but affordable.

Come cross with interesting eatery on side road while otw to ranau bring interest experience to a unique style of restaurant. They got RM 5 for entrance fee per person but it will deduct on your meal purchase. They serve mostly western foods and limited choice. The price is around RM 19++ while the drink cost RM 9++. You also can order plain water for your preference. The table seat is in the bus or on ground floor small cafeteria inside. I think each table can fit to 3-4 people. As the food. I ordered spaghetti beef carbonara. It's creamy, flavorful and the portion is okay. Enough for me who not eat too much.

I like the concept of using buses as restaurant. It was a new experience for me. The food were tasty, price wise I'd say affordable. Service by the staffs were good too. Parking was easy, there was a staff who helped to guide customers to park.
