Oslob Whale Shark Watching is a popular tourist attraction in South Cebu, offering the opportunity to swim with these gentle giants. Located in Oslob, it is quite a distance from Moalboal. Despite some controversy surrounding the activity, there are various tours available for visitors to enjoy the company of these fascinating creatures. The experience typically lasts around 30 minutes and allows participants to swim alongside the whale sharks as they are being fed.
All the locals recommended that we start as early as possible in the morning. Since we had kids with us, that plan didn’t really appeal to us, so we decided to try going later and see how it goes. We arrived in Oslob around 7:45 AM. We had two vans that needed parking. We slowly made our way along the main road, where lots of people were offering parking spaces and assistance. We took advantage of one such service. They offered us a spot in a guarded garage under a restaurant, and we agreed that if we had breakfast there, parking would be free. They also guided us through the ticket purchase process. The first step was registration, where they give you a queue number. We got numbers 224 and 225 — these were the numbers for our boats. But the tickets couldn’t be bought yet. At that time, shortly after 8 AM, the boats on the water were numbers 80 to 90, and only people with registration numbers 100 to 150 could buy tickets. We were told we had about 1 to 1.5 hours of waiting time. So we calmly returned to the restaurant and had breakfast. Prices were the same as everywhere else. After a while, two of us went to buy the tickets. Gradually, we moved to the harbor, received life vests, and got ready to board. Each boat has a maximum capacity of 8 people, so we had two private boats. We boarded around 10 AM. It was an incredible experience. The first sight of the whale shark just beneath the surface was breathtaking, and then swimming and diving with them, seeing them in all their glory. The kids joined us in the water as well. The time spent on the water was just right, and since the whole attraction closes at 11 AM, only a few boats went out after us, making the area much calmer. Conclusion: Was it worth coming later? Definitely yes. We avoided waking up too early, and in my opinion, we spent less time overall compared to those who line up two hours before opening. Note: We did this trip in mid-February 2025. Additional note: There’s a lot of water on the boat and you’ll get completely soaked. So either bring a waterproof backpack or leave your belongings in the car.

We arrived at 5 AM on a Monday during the off-season, so we didn't have to wait long. We paid 50 pesos for parking and 1,000 pesos each for swimming. Fortunately, we received priority access since two of us were over 60 years old. By 7:30 AM, we were back at the car. We brought our own snorkels and could remove our life jackets in the water since we are good swimmers. The sharks were breathtaking, and it was true that they are fed constantly, allowing us to see them up close. However, we witnessed a reckless kid touching one of the sharks, which is absolutely prohibited. Additionally, we encountered several unskilled swimmers who were jumping into the water to get selfies with the sharks, leading to a chaotic situation, giving us kicks and punches underwater (unintentionally but not less annoying). I can't imagine how overwhelming it must be during the peak season. I recommend visiting this location with a local or a guide; it makes the entire experience much easier.

The best experience. Whale shark watching in Oslob was truly an unforgettable experience. Being so close to these gentle giants of the sea is breathtaking their size is massive, yet they move with such calm and grace. The guides and boatmen gave clear instructions to keep a safe distance, and it was amazing to see how well they managed the crowds. While the encounter is thrilling, it also made me reflect on the importance of responsible tourism and protecting these creatures in their natural habitat. Overall, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I’m grateful for, and I hope future visitors continue to respect the guidelines so these whale sharks remain safe and well.
Cyril T — Google review
It's a must visit place in Bohol and Cebu area. You can swim together with the whale shark. They are so cute keep swimming next to the feeder. Although the feeder just feed a small piece at a time. And they are huge and harmless. But, do not touch them and do not put on sun cream when swimming with them.
Desmond L — Google review
It’s a great and unforgettable experience to swim alongside these majestic creatures. I can’t deny the joy it brings — it’s truly magical. But at the same time, I feel a bit conflicted. These wonderful animals are being lured with bait, which disrupts their natural migration patterns and encourages them to stay in one area instead of roaming freely. On the bright side, the operators do seem to care about the whale sharks’ safety — they give a quick briefing before the boat ride to ensure respectful interaction.
Edward H — Google review
I really do not support this tourist spot right here as it doesn’t allow the whale shark to naturally migrate as they feed them. This isn’t my first time coming over here. However, it gets worse. Once you get to the area, a person will come approach you for a parking space, then another person will approach you for you to be assisted (pay any amount) you’d feel bad to say no as they’re very persuasive and not giving you time to explore or say no. You might be in a fight before they get the gist. Surprising, 500php is still the same price way back. You gotta be early so you get to wait in queue and enjoy the havoc of waiting for swimming with the gentle giants for 30minutes. Mind you, those guys in the boat would only entertain people who are foreigners (for tips) and the ones you rents overcharged gopro/insta360. If you opt out, they dont usually care about you. You just gotta hop in the boat, wear your vest, when you reach to the area, you get to swim 30mins (also please time it you wouldn’t realize if it’s really time’s up) then hop out of the boat. You can shower for free but no soaps. Nearby bathroom cost 20php. You gotta pay every move in Oslob.
Scarlett F — Google review
It’s best to be in the area by 4 AM and already lined up to get a number. That way, you’ll be included in the first batch to go into the water, and you’ll also catch the sunrise. If you arrive around 5 AM onwards, expect bigger crowds and longer lines. By the time you get into the water, the sun will already be up and it will be hot. Sunscreen is also not allowed. Overall, the experience was happy and enjoyable. There are assistants available if you’d like to have your video or photo taken underwater. There’s an extra fee of ₱150 if you’re using your own underwater camera. But if you don’t have one, you can rent for ₱550, which already includes the fee for the person taking your videos/photos.

The best experience I ever had in years. I will definitely come back again. Highly recommended and praised! Please take care all of our animals and the environment for our children's children.

Tan-awan

Tan-awan in Oslob is a popular spot for tourists to witness the world's largest fish, whale sharks, being fed by local fishermen. These "domesticated" sharks have learned to feed on krill sprinkled by the fishermen and now attract visitors who come to snorkel and observe them as they circle the waters while feeding.

Waterfalls
Tumalog Falls, located in Oslob, Cebu, is a popular destination known for its picturesque jungle surroundings and inviting pool for wading and photography. It's important to note that the falls may be closed on the second Wednesday of every month, so it's advisable to confirm with local accommodations or tour operators before planning your visit. This stunning waterfall offers turquoise blue waters and a fairy pool-like atmosphere, making it one of the best places to visit in Cebu.
Tumalog Falls is an absolute must-visit when in southern Cebu. Getting to the base of the falls involves a steep descent—so be prepared. While you can walk it (as we did), it’s quite a workout, especially on the way back up. We decided to hike down to take in the scenery and then grabbed a motorcycle ride back up—definitely the smart move after a refreshing swim. The moment you reach the bottom, the view is breathtaking. The falls are incredibly wide with delicate streams cascading down a mossy rock face, creating a soft curtain-like effect. The water is a beautiful pale turquoise and makes for a refreshing swim. It was fairly busy when we arrived, but the area is spacious, so even with the crowd, it didn’t feel cramped. Standing under the gentle flow of the waterfall felt magical—it’s more of a mist than a pounding fall, so it’s really enjoyable. We spent around 90 minutes soaking it all in and didn’t want to leave. There are basic change rooms near the falls, which was convenient. Tumalog is not just photogenic, it’s peaceful, and it genuinely feels like nature’s spa. If you’re anywhere near Oslob or south Cebu then you need to visit these falls.

Discovering Tumalog Waterfalls in Oslob, Cebu I finally had the chance to visit one of the most talked-about natural attractions in Oslob, Tumalog Waterfalls. The last time I came to Oslob, I missed the chance to see this hidden gem, but this time, I made sure it was part of my itinerary. And I can honestly say it was worth it. Visiting Tumalog Falls is budget-friendly. The entrance fee is only ₱50 per person. From the designated parking area, visitors usually take a motorbike ride to the falls’ entrance since the road going down is steep. The motorbike fare is ₱50 for a round trip (back and forth). I highly recommend visiting during weekdays. This way, you can avoid the heavy weekend crowd and fully enjoy the serene beauty of the waterfalls. The peaceful sound of flowing water and the fresh mountain breeze is best experienced without too much noise around. Tumalog Waterfalls is known for its enchanting curtain-like cascade that flows gently down the moss-covered rocks, creating a dreamy backdrop that feels straight out of a postcard. The water is cool and refreshing, making it a perfect stop after exploring other attractions in Oslob. Standing there, surrounded by nature, you can’t help but feel calm and recharged. When visiting Cebu south, Tumalog Falls is truly a must-visit destination. Whether you’ve already been to Oslob for the famous whale shark experience or exploring other nearby spots, adding Tumalog to your trip will make your adventure even more memorable.

Beautiful and stunning water fall! Took a 3 minute motorcycle ride to arrive at the entrance. The water is between blue and green, and there're a lot of fish in the river. The temperature of the water is a bit cold, and I saw some visitors swimming in water ponds. Great place for taking good pictures and enjoy nature.
Hsi C — Google review
Tumalog Falls is absolutely breathtaking! The view of the falls is stunning, and the surrounding landscape adds to the beauty of the entire experience. It's definitely worth taking the motorcycle ride up and down the hill – the ride itself is a wonderful adventure and gives you a unique perspective of the area. The water is on the cooler side, so it’s best to visit in the afternoon when the sun is up, making it perfect for a refreshing swim. The chill of the water adds to the experience, especially after the ride up. The falls are serene and peaceful, offering a perfect escape into nature. Overall, Tumalog Falls is a must-visit if you're in the area. The combination of the scenic ride, the beautiful waterfall, and the refreshing swim makes it an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy both adventure and relaxation in a stunning natural setting!

We came here on a private taxi tour (just the two of us). We paid our taxi driver extra 400 pesos in total for Tumalog Fall, which included the round trip habal habal ride, entrance fee, and even some amazing photos 📷. If you see photographers around, it’s worth paying for the shots! They do a great job❤️. We actually wanted to give him a tip, but unfortunately left everything in the taxi. 😭 The waterfall itself is beautiful, but be prepared to get wet, everything can get soaked. We spent about two hours here swimming, taking photos, and even trying the doctor fish experience. The habal habal ride was also super fun 🫶🏻 highly recommended to visit here after Oslob whale shark watching!

The waterfalls are absolutely beautiful, but... the wild crowds lining up for the most Instagrammable photos, shouting and pushing each other. Motorcycles roar up and down the mountain (I recommend walking; it's a 10-15-minute walk). That's where I understood the meaning of the TOURISM INDUSTRY :(
Magdalena Z — Google review
Feel calm place. When we arrived at entrance, we can ride motorcycle for go to the fall. And it's felt like entered in the jungle but peaceful.
Juhan S — Google review
It was barely flowing when I visited in May. But, still worth a stop. You can get a motorcycle ride up the hill, but it's not a bad walk

Bluewater Sumilon Island Resort Port

Public beach
Bluewater Sumilon Island Resort Port is located in the picturesque island of Sumilon, just a short trip away from the main island of Cebu. This 24-hectare coral island boasts stunning white sand beaches and clear aquamarine waters, making it a dream escape for travelers. Established as a marine sanctuary in 1974, it is the first protected island with its marine life in the Philippines.
Hotel: Bluewater Sumilon Island Resort City: Oslob, Cebu Date: 16 - 20 December 2024 Nights: 4 This is one of the most beautiful hotels we've ever stayed in. Located on Sumilon Island, it truly is one of the hidden gems of Cebu. We decided to visit Oslob to swim with whale sharks, and without a doubt, this is the best hotel in the area. This is a private resort but as the island is very popular for the sandbar, there are daily tours boats taking people to the island as it is extremely beautiful and worth visiting. Location: Located on one of the most beautiful islands in the south of Cebu, Sumilon Island has an amazing sandbar and also a lake. To arrive at the resort you have to take a shuttle boat that takes around 10-15 mins from the main island to Sumilon. Services / team:The staff made us feel incredibly welcomed on the island. From the very beginning, Ram, the resort manager, ensured that our stay was truly special. The positivity and enthusiasm of the entire team, especially Kia in the restaurant, as well as the reception staff and the shuttle boat crew, made our experience even more memorable. Check-in process: The hotel has a welcoming check-in lounge located on the main island, where we did the check-in. There is the reception team there always welcoming. From the lounge, you will board the shuttle to the island. Note that the last shuttle departs at 4:00 PM, so plan accordingly. Rooms: The room was fantastic, extra large with a huge bathroom and very spacious and beautiful balcony with a view of the ocean. - Bed: This was one of the best beds we've ever slept in. The mattress and pillows are of exceptional quality, and very comfortable. The bedding is new, impeccably clean, and incredibly soft. - Bathroom: Is very spacious with an open shower, very good pressure, and also there is a wardrobe area next to the loo. Internet connection: The connection is outstanding, and the speed is exceptional for work, as well as for downloading documents and videos. This is one of the best internet connections we have experienced in the Philippines, and we were truly impressed! Views: The views around the island are absolutely breathtaking. Right in front of the rooms, there’s an area where you can observe baby sharks, a popular attraction, as they swim around noon. It’s truly impressive to see them so close to the shore—no need for snorkeling, as you can catch a glimpse right from your balcony. There are three hiking trails around the island, each varying in difficulty, offering the most stunning vistas of the landscape. At the far end of the island, you’ll find a popular sandbar that provides spectacular views, especially during sunset. Cleanliness: Every area of the hotel is meticulously clean and well-maintained, with particular attention given to the rooms and bedding. 10/10 Breakfast: There is a wide variety of breakfast dishes available. However, the selection of fresh fruits and juices is limited, which presents an opportunity for significant improvement. On a positive note, there is an egg station and a selection of traditional Filipino dishes. Highlights: We want to emphasize the exceptional quality of the room and bed, as well as the stunning location, which is among the most beautiful islands we've ever visited. Everything is impeccably organized and functions seamlessly. Another standout feature is the reliable shuttle service to the island. The shutter are always on time! Quality vs price: The comparison between quality and price is accurate. Pool: There are 2 pools & 1 jacuzzi in open areas. All of them are very well maintained and with a lifeguard during the day. Others: The island offers a wide range of activities, including a private tour to swim with whale sharks. They also provide transportation to the boats and have one dedicated boat for hotel guests. Rating: We rate this hotel very highly, as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and chose to extend it for an additional night. We highly recommend this place and would love to return in the future.

Relaxing place. Clear white sand beach. Great place to unwind from the husle and bustle of the city. Their buffet lunch was delicious too. Too bad we missed the low tide so we did not get to see the sand bar.. will come back next time

I stayed in a Premier room for 1 night and the Villa for 3 nights. This is my 3rd visit with my wife and overall it was a pleasant stay. The villa is looking a bit dated and could do with some TLC for the broken gate, window frames could easily be varnished but overall clean and comfortable. The food is a buffet type menu but i have to say i was pretty impressed with how good most things tasted. The Staff on reception and around the resort were always exceptional, polite and helpful and a big thank you to the Nurse who looked after my wife one day when she was sick. The beach was incredible and the amount of fish to snorkel with was amazing. It could come across as expensive but it was worth it for the serenity, food and great service.
Mark F — Google review
Fantastic, very refreshing view. They offer snorkeling as well, sadly I don't really know how to swim so I just enjoy the beach with my friend and her family. Its a great experience still even though I got sting from jelly fish I will still go back there.
Sheena B — Google review
The experience is ultra superb! I've had the opportunity to experience a "high-class" resort. I love everything about the island, the beaches, the sites, pools, and especially the lovely crew. I also love the foods, but if I consider their food prices, they are dollars worth. Nevertheless, you'll always enjoy what's in the island. This place is a go-to if you're looking for somewhere to bond with friends, family, and love ones; but of course yourself (for personal time). The only problem I've encountered so far were the bicycles. They were not well-maintained and conditioned, worse case if we had crashed in the trails. We just understood the circumstances and rode carefully tho' the trail is very awesome. About the rooms, nothings wrong really...I find everything perfect most especially the bathroom. Overall, the island's "everything" is so good that you'll forget your life in the mainland of Cebu.

Sumilon Island, located in the municipality of Oslob in Cebu, is a stunning tropical paradise. This 24-hectare island boasts clear oceanic waters with varying shades of aquamarine and white sand beaches. Established as a marine sanctuary in 1974, it was the first protected island for marine life in the Philippines. The island is home to diverse marine species and coral reefs, making it a popular attraction for snorkeling and diving enthusiasts.
Similon Island was an absolute paradise! We had the most amazing time snorkeling and swimming in the crystal-clear waters. The visibility was incredible, allowing us to fully enjoy the vibrant marine life and coral reefs. The water was so pristine, and the colors were breathtaking, making it a perfect spot for both relaxation and adventure. The beach was serene and peaceful, with soft white sand and calm waters—ideal for a leisurely swim or simply lounging in the sun. Our family had a blast, and the kids especially loved exploring the underwater world. If you're looking for a peaceful, beautiful escape with some of the clearest waters you can imagine, Similon Island is definitely the place to be. Highly recommended!

Nice water adventure experience like snorkeling etc.. Island organiser are focused to the safety of visitors from safety orientation, boat transfers to actual island. Alway bring your bottled water and sunscreen. No store at the island.

A sandbar with crystal clear water to swim, many day trips stop here for 30min to swim but you can’t go further than the beach
David H — Google review
The trip going to the island in included in our tour package. Love the boat ride. The sand is so white and waters very clear. Its not that crowded during weekdays. The area is small but beautiful. This is a must see when in Cebu. Bring drinks and snack. Also sun protection since no shade in the swimming area.

Sumilon Island is truly a tropical paradise that feels like an escape from the busy world. The island is known for its powdery white sandbar that changes shape depending on the tide, and it’s honestly one of the most beautiful natural sights I’ve ever seen. The water is crystal clear with stunning shades of blue, perfect for swimming, snorkeling, or just lounging by the shore. What makes Sumilon even more special is the marine sanctuary. If you love snorkeling, you’ll enjoy the colorful corals and variety of fish that make the underwater scene so alive. The island also offers hiking trails, a lighthouse, and a lagoon, so there’s more to do than just beach bumming. It can get a little crowded during peak hours, but if you go early, you can really enjoy the peaceful and pristine vibe of the island. Whether you’re visiting as part of a whale shark tour in Oslob or just making the trip for the island itself, Sumilon is absolutely worth it. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to stay longer.
Cyril T — Google review
If you're not staying in the resort, the whole island is a scam. 600 for the boat, 100 to go snorkeling, 1500 to access any of the resort area (which is basically the whole island) and the rest is just a small beach with nothing to do. They charge 1500 extra for a drone, so I'm surprised that breathing the air here is for free.
Alexander M — Google review
While it is very pretty with clear waters, we found it to be expensive and crowded. 1500 peso for the boat ride for 2, 200 pesos to swim (plus; additional cost for the tuk-tuk ride there). We rented snorkeling gear at the takeoff point but then you had to pay for a guide to snorkel in the deeper area and we decided not to pay more. We'd read there was hiking and caves but there isn't as you walk up the steps that's to the resort and they won't let you pass. Overall, don't think it was worth it with all the other beautiful beaches in the Philippines. The sand bar at Virgin island was much better.

La Terrasse Restaurant in Oslob offers limited options and the food is slightly salty, but you can request less salt if needed. The service is average and the wait time for food can be long. However, there isn't much to do in the area anyway, so waiting may not be a big issue. The taste of the dishes is mediocre and the service quality is just okay. The overall rating for food, service, and atmosphere is average at 3 out of 5.
Parking is available in the front with a small fee of 50pesos but if you buy food here you can park even while you swim with whales . They have vegetarian options even veggie burgers I choose the Amercian breakfast with the meat. Big servings and food was good coming out the water. They open early and staff is polite. I give 1 stars cause I can't give less. I only some fruit juice, that were nice, but when I ordered 1 simple Crepes Nutella, even if was empty restaurant I waited too much for a easy thing, and when it arrived it was just 'dirty' of Nutella, maximum 1 spoon of Nutella. Maybe look around for better place.

Amazing staff, very friendly, always smiling and with a positive attitude! Food is always delicious, no matter if you are in the mood for fish, BBQ or crepes....they have it all and it's always fresh and delicious. It's a very close walking distance from the Whale Shark so very convenient if you want to do some adventure before a delicious meal. Good food, great location! The place can seat more than 60 customers at the same time. The food just took some time to prepare. And there’s only 3 servers. Service can be improved more. I almost passed by this restaurant as the prices were a little high for salad and I wanted salad. In the end I stopped and saw a porkchop on the menu and went for it. Glad I stopped because out of the week I have been in the Philippines, this was the very best food so far! Portions were very large, so worth the extra in my opinion. Everyone was very friendly, the restaurant was clean and the tables spaced nicely. Had the porkchop with madh potoatoes and the green salad [cheapest]. The salad dressing was a mustard vinaigrette and very flavorful...I wish there was even more! Everything was fresh in the salad. The porkchop was huge with a nice, edible layer of fat around the outside. Delicious. All of the meat I have had [every meal] in the Philippines has been tough and flavorless/overcooked. This chop could have been served less cooked, but still, it was very good! Nice veggie and mashed potatoe on the side and a sauce. The lady next to me was having some sort of pasta [maybe with shrimp]. I don't know how it tasted but smelled delicious and again, the serving was large. I'm going back for dinner for sure! Edit: So I returned for dinner and I have been traveling for 3 months and wanted my favorite salad, a cobb. They had all of the ingredients so I asked if they would prepare it for me and they did! It was delicious!! Adding that photo as well. [Lettuce, tomato, bacon, grilled chicken, feta cheese amd vinaigrette].

Aaron Beach Resort is a charming seaside hotel offering a combination of rustic beachfront rooms and delightful open-air cottages. Guests can enjoy exciting whale shark encounters and take part in engaging tours. The resort provides a convenient place to rest, park, and refresh while waiting for their turn to swim with the magnificent creatures.
Very simple but clean rooms enough for your stay and relax by the beach in Aaron's Beach Resort. All facilities are working, huge toilet rooms which I am honestly surprised. Private part of the beach, mostly pebbles, not sandy, but otherwise, amazing place to swim. The staff are all accommodating and friendly. They also have enough parking space available. Had a great stay with my husband.

This is the review of the whale shark provider, not the hotel. We came there, they looked a bit clueless, our “guide” didnt even board the van with us. They dropped us off without telling us anything so we lost quite some time by this, the whale sharks were amazing but not thanks to this provider. The garden was nice and breakfast was alright

We went to this resort for a day while we waited to scuba dive with the whale sharks. We had a hut with a table and benches. It had a restroom for changing. It is in a good location where we can watch boats carrying snorkelers.

Place is average at best. Only good side is they'll assist you in whale watching.

What's there to say? We just hung-out, parked and showered here in between waiting for hours to get our turn to swim with the whale sharks. The alternative was to wait on the road or by the super crowded beachside where you embark just before the whale shark swim. Aaron Beach was not crowded, spacious and has its own beachside where you can observe the crowd from a distance. Note that it has an entrance fee though per person. Honestly, if you can afford to drink milk tea, you wouldn't mind this convenience 🙄

Wonderful stay here. Very beautiful sunrise. At one point a pipe in the bathroom did burst, but the friendly staff quickly fixed the problem. I don't know what the bad reviews on here about whale watching are about. This is not even the correct google maps location for whale shark watching. So don't be put off by the bad reviews for that, they are reviewing the wrong place.

Affordable place which is walkable to the Shark point. Bathroom is large and the room has nice decor, with a small seating area outside. Outdoor area has huts where you can relax while enjoying views of the sea. Staff was very helpful when I needed some medical help.

Cocina En Acantilado is a restaurant perched on the cliffs with stunning panoramic views of the ocean, creating an enchanting atmosphere. The menu features gourmet delights that are beautifully presented and bursting with flavors. It's a recommended place for couples to spend time together, especially in the mornings to enjoy breakfast and coffee while watching the sunrise over the wide sea of Oslob. The restaurant offers delicious exotic food like crocodile sisig, sweet and sour tuna, and native chicken tinola.
Peaceful atmosphere. We had breakfast and lunch here when we came for the tour. Reasonably priced. Sticky mango rice, omelette, pasta aglio olio - all were good and tasty. We also got some extra chillies when requested. View is great too.

We had both breakfast and lunch here as part of our tour, and the experience was lovely. The place is beautiful, and while dining, you get a stunning view of Sumilon Island and the coastline from above. The scenery made the meals even more enjoyable—a great spot to relax and take in the view during a tour stop.

We were the only customers, yet the service was very slow. The staff were loud—laughing and shouting—even with customers present, showing a lack of restaurant etiquette. Additionally, the food was undercooked and lacked flavor, disappointing both Filipino and foreign tastes. Much better go chobi-chobi same price better services

Only came here to eat for breakfast as part of our whale sharks tour group. The mango sticky rice they offered was decent and mango was both very sweet and a little sour! Great breakfast. Didn’t try the others so can’t really rate.

It was our lunch stopover after whale sharking watching and a visit to tumalog falls. We ordered fresh mango juice and Hawaiian pizza. Pizza was served piping hot and fresh from the oven. Mango juice was fresh and nice. Prices are very reasonable. Good place to catch lunch on a trip to oslob.

Very recommended place for spending time with your loved ones! Especially couples love to spend mornings together! This place will satisfy your cravings and hunger for food and special view! What's special in this restaurant is that you can have your coffee and breakfast, and at the same time touched the rays of the sunrise! 🌞 You can also view the wide sea of Oslob and get IG-like photos! Ancient Ruins
The Cuartel Ruins, located in Oslob, Cebu, are a significant historical site dating back to the Spanish colonial era. Built with coral stones as barracks for Spanish soldiers, it was left unfinished due to the arrival of American forces. These ruins offer a glimpse into the country's past during Spanish colonization and are perfect for history enthusiasts. Visitors can experience a sense of time travel as they explore the remnants and imagine its role in safeguarding Old Oslob against invaders.
The place was truly historic and I had a good time taking pictures in the ruins. The place was lit enough even though we went there at night. However, I was disappointed to see some vandalized bricks and trash everywhere. Hopefully the government should add more security and janitor in the place. There were also people gathering and watching movies that night so the place was very jolly. The trip was worth it.

Our Lady of Immaculate Conception Church, also known as Oslob Church, is a significant historical and cultural landmark in Oslob, Cebu, Philippines. This 19th-century church showcases the Baroque architectural style from the Spanish colonial era. The church is accessible through Calle Aragones and features a massive octagonal bell tower with bells on each side.
The church architecture was so strong and well founded. It's one of my favorite facade still standing in Oslob a haven for lost souls, if you think you're burdened, abandoned and have a heavy heart this is the exact place to ask healing through prayer for our God to hear. A place of thanksgiving for the prosperous years that we enjoy.📸😍📸

This Catholic church looked very beautiful. ther was information about this building. Even though it was builded 19C, it's still used for prayer. we visited here on Wednesday at 4:30 pm. fortunately, the sermon started after 30 minutes. so we had a chance to hear their pray. I can't understand what the minister says, but I prayed from the bottom of my heart because I'm also a Christian.

Great stay for the price, gorgeous view and the pool was nice. I arranged the trip to the whale sharks with them, Edwin was awesome! Greatly appreciate him. The breakfast was small and expensive for what it was ( in comparison to general meals I bought in my trip)

Staying at Germaroze was an absolute delight! ✨ We booked a family room, and it was nothing short of magical—bright, colorful, and full of charm. The two large windows opened up to breathtaking sea views, and at night, we fell asleep to the soothing sound of the waves. 🌊💙 The bathroom was spacious, with a great shower that had its own little surprise—a window overlooking a quiet, small, hidden beach with no people ever. Taking a shower with that view? Unforgettable. 😍 The pool was a perfect escape—always warm, even in the evening. Not too big, not too small—just the right size for a relaxing dip. And let’s talk about the bed and pillows—so comfortable, we melted into them after a long day of exploring. Best of all? It was incredibly affordable! We booked four months in advance and got this amazing stay for just $23 USD—an absolute steal for such a lovely place. We also rented a scooter for just 400 PHP, making it easy to explore the beautiful surroundings. If you’re looking for a place that feels like a little slice of paradise without breaking the bank, Germaroze is it! 🌿✨

Germaroze really surprised us. We really weren't sure what to expect before arriving, but we ended up being happy with the whole place and staying extra days. We got an ocean view room and it was perfect for us. The room was basic, but had a comfortable bed. It overlooked the pool and had an amazing sunrise ocean view. The pool was nice and the internet worked well. There is also ocean access. The room was quiet at night. There are also a couple of sitting areas that look out over the ocean that are nice to chill out at or to work at. I enjoyed sitting in the rocking chairs and working, while having the whole ocean in front of me. The place is within walking distance of town, but it is like 40pesos for a ride. We rented a scooter from next door for like 400 pesos per day, which worked really well. The staff were awesome. The woman cooked us breakfast in the mornings for like 130pesos. Simple, but good. The value for the money is a big one here. You get a good, clean room with a pool, internet, hot water and an amazing ocean view for about $20USD per day. Pretty darn hard to beat.

After a long absence, I returned to Oslob and discovered two remarkable places worth recommending. One of them is the Oslob Whale Shark Resort for accommodation. This hidden gem offers clean and beautifully designed rooms, with a friendly and accommodating staff that makes you feel at home. The best part is its location right by the ocean, adding an extra touch of convenience. When it comes to dining, Brice BBQ & Grill is highly recommended.
Tuki Bar is an absolute gem in Oslob! With its fully open concept bar and new ownership, the cozy atmosphere offers the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of Cebu. I was kinda disappointed in the food as they had so many good ratings. I was their first patron of the day at 618 pm and I was hungry because it was my first meal of the day for some reason. Portions were smaller than expected for price and chicken was way overcooked. It was tasty just way too cooked. I was hoping without luck that this place would have less sugar in the sauce/,meat but it was pretty much same as every where else. ☹️

Hands down best filipino food ever tasted and in my 8 days trip to Cebu, this clearly beats the rest I have eaten. The place was a small quaint location with great aircon and a lovely back room location. Location was convenient, in the middle of Oslob Municipality. Sisig Pork: absolute deliciousness in one hot plate. The pork was fragrant and juicy, not hard or overcooked at all due to the quick serving and fresh ingredients. Omelette: Surprised me the most. I expected a simple egg omelette with nothing special, but I got a delicious egg with runny insides and balanced flavours. Salmon Sinigang: Not too much vegetables and a lot more ingredient (salmon) in the soup. Great refreshing taste compared to the other heavy dishes.

This place has pretty much the same menu as Le Bistro (same owners we were told). While the Le Bistro is newer, what I liked about this place was they made a veggie dish of whatever veggies they had for me off the menu (there are only 3 veggie main dishes I saw on the menu here and at Le Bistro and I had all of them at Le Bistro).. the dish was tasty and told them they should really put this dish on the menu to provide more veggie options.

Down South is a gem along the road. This place is very clean the a/c is cold the room is very relaxing. The linens are fresh and white! I have obsessive compulsive disorder and sleeping in hotels gives me anxiety. Not to this place, I was able to relax. I can see and smell the freshness and newly washed linens. The staff were very friendly, polite and very accommodating to our needs. Last time we were here was before the pandemic and the standard hasn’t gone down. The management really knows what they’re doing. They renovate their rooms and update the roof top to a cozy lounge bar. It was really well thought of. You can enjoy your cocktail facing the ocean with the fresh ocean breeze. We really enjoyed our stay. Note that the place is kid friendly. This place also has safe guest parking. The restaurant has several food choices with descent reasonable price. There staff can also arrange the activities you want to do. Over all we had a very pleasant stay at Down South, we recommend you stay in this place when your in Oslob for the whale shark.

Location: It’s easy to find, and about a 15-minute ride from the hostel to the whale shark watching area. Rooms: The rooms were quite spacious and clean. We asked for an extra mattress and were expecting just that—a mattress on the floor. But to our surprise, they actually provided a whole extra bed, which was perfect. The room we rented included a few amenities such as a mini fridge, water heater, two free water bottles, two cups, three towels, and other standard room essentials. The air conditioning worked well, though it was a bit noisy. Service: The staff were great and very friendly. We coordinated with them for our whale shark and Sumilon Island trip, and everything was easy and seamless. We didn’t have to stress at all—just show up and enjoy. Overall: It was a quiet and cozy place to stay for a short trip to Oslob. There’s a restaurant on the ground floor and a rooftop bar. Food was delicious but I must admit it was a bit pricey. Oh, and before I forget, they also have an area that’s perfect for an intimate dinner date or even a proposal 😊

Total paradise! Really loved staying here, so relaxing and the staff were absolutely wonderful. Every effort was made to help us feel welcomed and comfortable. As far as prices go in Philippines, it was a bit deer. Definitely a luxury stay for the average traveller. Would stay again.

I had an enjoyable time here. The staff members are really friendly and attentive. As for the food, the chop suey was excellent. However, the pork adobo was on the tough side. This is a good place to relax and wind down. The restaurant is right by the sea. Beer is cold too.

A bit outside of the city of Oslob, but you can catch a tricycle to the city. This is a really good budget hotel. I can definitely recommend. They have a nice restaurant, too, with nice views of the sea.

Amazing view, really nice and clean rooms! Only ate there once so I'm not sure if it was only that night, maybe under staff, but the waiting time for food was quite long.. but staff amazing! Really helpful and very smiley people!

Beautiful place with ocean view. The rooms are clean and cozy. The reception lady was very nice and the restaurant staff so friendly. Perfect place to relax in Oslob!
Mariana D — Google review
The property is located nicely with an astonishing view. Wifi and hot water is available. The only counter part is related to the restaurant. As a group of around 20 people, we sent our orders to the restaurant almost all at the same time. We are assuming this was the cause of delays over our food plates, which lead to a stress test to the chefs and the kitchen. They served the plates all and the cooked orders all at the same time, so this could also be the reason behind the long waits. We ordered at 7.45, it started arriving at 9.15 (kitchen is closing at 9pm on papers) Over all, apart from this inconvenience, the resort is really good with amenities.

Le Bistrot is a popular dining spot in Oslob that offers a diverse menu featuring both local and international dishes. Visitors have praised the generous portion sizes and excellent service, recommending dishes like chicken mushroom fettuccine, pork chops, lasagna, bolognese pasta, chicken sisig, and squid. The ambiance is pleasant, with friendly and accommodating staff creating a welcoming atmosphere.
Really nice spot with friendly service and solid food. The veggie burger with fries was tasty and fresh – and it’s especially great to find proper vegetarian options here, since in this town that’s usually not easy. 🌱🍔🍟 Simple, relaxed atmosphere, fair prices and food served with care. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a good, casual meal with vegetarian choices available.

Had dinner here after visiting Cuartel Ruins. Food is ok, with reasonable price. The pork chop is great. Halo halo is different from what we had at other shops.

Stopped here for lunch on the recommendation of our guide. Glad we stopped! We really enjoyed our lunch! We got Chicken nuggets and fries and a grilled pork chop with rice both were really good and we would definitely go back again. They have a nice selection of things to choose from and the staff was very friendly! They take credit cards and have great WiFi!

Ordered American breakfast and chicken tinola and serve for almost 1Hour. Chicken is dry and sayote is hard. Mango shake is blah. Just mango and ice blend. The food is expensive and not good quality.

Aircon and comfortable settings. Food was ok. Wanted to try the croissant, it was old. Hard on the buttom and warm on top where it was slightly heated otherwise, quite nice.

Service staff was okay, pretty friendly. The atmosphere was good and had good vibes! Toilet was clean as well. Food wise: Mango Juice/Milkshake - absolutely delicious. The mango in Cebu are out of this world and too good to be true. Mango Graham - one of the best Grahams I have tasted. With the sweet mango, the Graham’s flavour came out strong and blended perfectly Beef Burger - a little meh, the bun looked unappealing and patty was decent at best! Fries were delish!

Chicken mushroom pasta was great. Came out quick And was good quality and value. Chicken was proper chicken not cut up into small bits which although I do like, was getting sick of. Pasta was Al Dente Would definitely recommend and if was staying longer would definitely go back.

Absolutely cleanest restaurant we visited Food and drinks were great and efficient. Highly recommend. Sadly we only discovered this restaurant on our last day after struggling with food hygiene all week in Philippines. Recommend both the steamed and fried fish.

Catholic church
Nuestra Señora de Patrocinio Church, also known as Boljoon Church, is a National Cultural Treasure and a National Historical Landmark in the Philippines. It offers a peaceful retreat from the city with its clean beaches, ancient structures, and friendly locals. The church features a museum that showcases its rich history for a small entrance fee. Located away from the bustling city, it's an ideal stop when visiting Oslob for whale shark watching.
This place is charming, fascinating and impressive. A gracious local tour guide was able to show us around and share some historical information of religious and political relevance. Entering the church feels spooky but astonishing. Got surprised to see hundred years old image of the church patron.

Timeless Charm of Boljoon I’ve completely fallen in love with the town of Boljoon, located in the southern part of Cebu. I first visited back in 2017, and returning now, it’s just as beautiful—if not more. This charming town offers a peaceful, laid-back vibe, clean air, and a serene atmosphere that feels like a welcome escape from the hustle of city life. One of the town’s gems is the historic Boljoon Church. Despite its age, the structure is impressively well-preserved and maintained. Visiting the church feels like stepping back in time, surrounded by both history and beauty. The locals are warm and friendly. Be sure to stop by the museum next to the church—there’s a lady there who is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about sharing the history of the place. Also, a special mention to Mr. Pompi, who kindly answered all our questions and shared stories about the town’s past. Aside from the heritage sites, the coastline is a dream—clean, turquoise waters perfect for swimming and snorkeling. There are several resorts along the way, and the prices are quite reasonable. Boljoon remains one of my favorite spots in Cebu—full of history, nature, and heart. A must-visit if you’re looking to slow down and soak in some real local charm. Church- Free Museum- ₱100/pax

Cool Old Church. Came here for the Palm Sunday service. Originally built in 1783, so 242 years old.
Gaynor L — Google review
While we were on our way to Dumaguete, we stopped by this church in Boljoon around 6 PM. It was my first time visiting, and I was honestly surprised by how peaceful and beautiful the place was. There weren’t many people around, so it felt very calm and relaxing. The church is right beside the road, and across from it is an open space where you can sit, rest, or just enjoy the view. What I really loved was the sunset. If you stay on the side across the church, you’ll get a perfect view of the ocean and the sun slowly going down. It was a beautiful moment—quiet, breezy, and peaceful. It’s a great spot if you want to relax during a long drive or take a break with a nice view. The church itself is very old, but well-maintained. The walls and structure show its history, and you can feel that it has been there for many years. It’s one of those churches that makes you stop and appreciate how simple yet meaningful the place is. Even if you’re not very religious, it’s worth visiting because of the heritage and scenery. There’s also a big open field in front and some benches nearby. You can take pictures, sit and talk, or just enjoy the peaceful vibe. It’s not crowded, which makes it even more special. It’s also a great place for quick reflection or to rest before continuing your trip. Overall, I really enjoyed the short stop here. It’s a simple but beautiful place with a calm atmosphere, great views, and historical charm. If you’re passing by Boljoon, I recommend taking a few minutes to visit the church, watch the sunset, and enjoy the moment. It's truly a hidden gem along the road.

Pulpit panels finally back after decades. When you visit this church, don’t forget to look up! The stunning ceiling paintings are still beautifully intact, showcasing intricate details and rich history. It’s amazing how well-preserved these artworks are, a must see for history & art lovers.

very solemn church. When we got there they were almost done with renovations, i think. And i finally saw the missing panels! I read somewhere before that it went missing and was so glad when they finally found most of it. And to see it personally was really different. + there were lots of parking space

Beautiful scenery of the Church and the sea. A must visit.

This location is quite peaceful, far away from the crowded city's and noise. Everything about this place is wonderful, from the building to the sea, from the clean beaches to the land and ancient structures like the historic house and the church. The people were also very friendly and welcoming. It's a lengthy drive from Cebu City, but it's well worth the effort.

Ili Rock

Historical landmark
Eli Rock is a must-see lookout point located halfway to Tingko Beach, easily accessible from the main highway. After passing through Boljoon Church, visitors can park at a small lot and take a short walk to reach the top of this majestic rock. The panoramic view from the top offers a postcard-perfect angle of Boljoon town and its surroundings, with a refreshing sea breeze awaiting tired adventurers.
Came early, thought the path went higher. Very easy climb with stairs but it would be hot later in the day. Good views for sunrise and it's all free so no complaints at all. Probably a 40 minute ride or so out of Oslob if that's where you're staying. The Browne Town.
Stephen B — Google review
Beautiful view of the ocean and the esthetically pleasing Boljoon Churchyard and bay walk. The steps and paths on the rock need better maintenance.
Elliot F — Google review
If you find this photo a great scenery.. the reality is far way more to attraction than it is. Its a 5-10 minute-walk I guess going up. You may use the big stairs, good thing its fully cemented. I suggest bring your tumblers or a bottle of water with you and prepare to take a very good pictures of yours. 😉 From above you will see the bay fronting the church and park around it.
ᴡ ʜ — Google review
It was good climb indeed giving a bird's eye view over the beautiful coastal area and Boljoon Church.
Leila U — Google review
The view is breathtaking! However, it's left to rot on it's own because of what I heard, a pending case between the owner and the LGU. Too bad 🥲
Isa — Google review
The view is amazing from the top, however in order to reach the point you have to climb a lot of stairs any you may start to feel breathless and thirsty just like how I felt, probably bcz I am not fit, haha. But the climb is absolutely worth the view.
Talha T — Google review
This cliff is one of Boljoon's landmarks. Now a staircase & a viewing deck have been huilt, affording one a nice view of the town and its coastline. Definitely not for those with fear of heights.
Rommel B — Google review
A majestic rock that dominates the Boljoon landscape since before the coming of the Spaniards. Above it you can see a postcard perfect angle of the town of Boljoon. Currently there's nothing really waiting for you a top the rock but a goat or two. But the feeling at the top of the rock is priceless. A refreshing cool sea breeze is waiting for you to refresh your tired body after scaling the top of the rock. Tip#1: Be extra careful. There are no railings at the edge of rock. There are no guides in the area as well. Tip#2: On a hot day, it could get pretty hot here. Make sure to bring an umbrella since there is no shed waiting for you at the top. Tip#3: There is a nearby convenient store near the base of the rock for your drinks/refreshments.
