For the most part the town is a lovely getaway for couples. The architecture and the tiny walk ways within the town is great. It is family friendly and one can explore within a day. It's so much prettier in the Summer. I would highly recommend this place for a day activity. Aber schnell...the town awaits 💮🌼

I visited Am Sande in Lüneburg over the weekend, and it was a wonderful experience! This stunning historical place is perfect for a quiet, relaxing day. The area offers a big open space for walking with family and enjoying the picturesque view of the beautiful buildings. There are also many nice cafes where you can sit and enjoy the sun. Lüneburg is a very nice city with incredibly kind people. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a serene and charming getaway!

The Krone is a traditional German restaurant. 5 of us were there yesterday for dinner. The food was good. The service was not. After the salad as a starter, we waited 1 hour for the main course. That was not the worst part though. When I suggested to the waiter that things seemed to be pretty busy and that we had a deadline, he responded by saying that we had had a salad after all. It seems that they don't use trained waiters at this restaurant. Later, as I was paying, he told me that if I had a deadline, I should say so when I order. I almost felt obliged to apologize. If they really had a mix up in the kitchen, why wouldn't the waiter simply say "I'm very sorry for the inconvenience. I'll check up on the kitchen." and leave it at that?

After your visit to the Prussian Museum, this is the perfect stop for lunch. The snitzel was really good and the gravy made with beer was delicious. They have options of beers without alcohol and the flavor is good.

Very cosy place with great beer, decent service and food. Went their for lunch and ordered the Schnitzel with eggs as well as the one with Mushroom sauce. Both were very good, would definitely recommend this place and will be looking forward for out next visit.

I dined here on July 29, 2022. The food was nothing special. My mini frikadellen were somewhat dried during pan frying. My pfannenschlag was too salty and the potatoes had some burned pieces. They charged me for the bread. The beer was 4.20 for .4 litter. I found it to be an average place, and I wouldn't recommend it to someone who is looking for German cooking.

The entire ambiancd of the place was great. The only thing I wish changed was the food. I ordered one of their classics and it was just too salty. There was nothing to counter the saltiness.

This is a definite visit if you are in the area. Opportunity to relax and reflect in an old old historical building. They supply a good range of language guides -a donation can be given too.I normally hold Churches as cold however this building really ‘talked’to me -to calm down. I believe ‘this life’ is Heaven, we are all experts so we think! but we are all very lucky that we are a part of a Planet just the correct distance from a burning Planet that allows the very essence of life -atmosphere/water/temperature -someone might have had a hand in this ??!!

Very nicely refurbished water tower located in the city center. It's actually a museum (and used for events), not just a viewpoint. Some of the floors have exhibits on water usage. Dogs welcome! 5 eur per person. Great views of the city and surrounding area. Highly recommend. Little gift shop at the entrance.

Amazing Lüneburg view from here. The water tower is very well preserved, inside it is very nice information and machines you can try. You take the elevator up. Worth seeing if you have time.

Great view and interesting museum

A very cool piece of history, with an even greater view at the top. Being able to see the beautiful 1300s architecture around Lüneburg is worth the €5. The staff were super nice, and despite the language barrier was able to help direct us. The content of the exhibits are mostly in German, but don’t let that deter you if you don’t speak it. The 4th floor speaks for itself, and if you really are interested in the words they’re very clear and easy to translate with an app. I did not expect to start my trip falling in love with a water tower, but it is worth making an effort to see if you’re around Lüneburg (30 minute train from Hamburg 100% worth the trip)

A wonderful place, despite the years of this tower, it is in excellent condition. An impeccable view of the entire city. Walking down from the observation deck, you learn the history of the tower and much more.

Mälzer Brau- und Tafelhaus was clearly a popular lunch spot today, buzzing with customers. While the initial service from our table waiter was adequate, we were only provided with a German menu. Thankfully, the bar staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly when I went to the counter to request an English menu. We ordered two beers, a mixed salad, and the mixed sausages. The sausages were a highlight – absolutely delicious, although we did find them to be a touch on the salty side.

Mälzer Brauerei Lüneburg – excellent food and atmosphere! The Biergulasch was rich and flavorful, and the Wurst Parade a real highlight. Loved the brewery’s own beer — fresh and perfectly paired. Lovely, outstanding service made the visit even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!

Great home made beer and a big menu to choose from. Ordered the Cesar salad, the Currywurst as well as the Schnitzel. Cesar salad wasn’t that great and it had bacon in it, the Schnitzel and the Currywurst were amazing. Service was good and the place is nice so overall it’s a clear recommendation.

Visited on our one day trip to Lüneburg. The pizzas were big, I couldn’t finish mine. Nothing special in the taste, they were good. Service is fast, the location is also good, the place is big, except for the tables that are outside, they also have like a small garden. The only thing that I didn’t like were the dirty tables.

Piccanti Lüneburg provided a truly delightful dining experience. The service was exceptional; our waiter was incredibly attentive and polite, while also maintaining a warm and friendly demeanor. He was very helpful in guiding us through the menu with excellent recommendations. We also appreciated him checking in to see how we were enjoying our meal. He even graciously agreed to a photo! The food itself was also excellent. We ordered pizza and salad, and both were very tasty. I would highly recommend Piccanti for their wonderful service and delicious food.

The interior is wonderful, the waiters work quickly. But….disappointment in the quality of the food. The food with the smell is served without remorse. The consolation is the prompt reaction of the waiters. Several options were missing from the menu.

We had breakfast there, the portions were very small in comparison to the price of the meal, we payed 17,50€ for two people and had to order more because the portion was too small. I also found a hair in my food, two times! The eggs were great though, and the area of the restaurant is also good. I want to recommend the restaurant but i would not, not with my experience.

Really beautiful restaurant. Our waitress was really friendly and the food was so delicious! In this restaurant they serve a unique long pizza which you can cut with a pair of scissors but there are also many other dishes to choose from. Definitely worth a visit!

The food is amazing, they have also a seasonal menu which differentiates this place from others in the area. Was a bit disappointed to be honest. Nice place with a great vibe to have a beer. The food was ... meh. Sticky greasy pizza, grilled cheese as from the supermarker freezer, 'authentic' French onion soup = a mixed vegetables broth with some cheese over it. Ok Auflauf. Had better pub food before.

Unfortunately, my experience at Rõhms Deli in Lüneburg was quite disappointing. Upon arriving, we stood near the outdoor seating area hoping to be seated. After a while, with no staff acknowledging us, we decided to take a seat at an empty outdoor table. We then waited for a further 20 minutes before a waiter finally approached our table. His first question was whether we spoke German. When we replied that we did not, he abruptly informed us that they were fully booked and only accepting reservations. While I understand restaurants can get busy, the way this was handled felt unwelcoming, especially as we are Asian tourists. It would have been much more appreciated if we had been informed of the reservation policy earlier and with a more courteous approach.

I didnt want to write this review but I am genuinely annoyed, I dont like being duped. I was there this past Tuesday 15th August. Birthday lunch. You offer a Entrecote for 29€ we ordered two and a fish dish. The Entrecote was NOT Entrecote but rather chewy rump steak as it called here or sirloin everywhere else. You dont disclose the weight of the steak and as a person who only eats steak, everyday I know steaks. Maybe 250g I asked for medium rare and got medium, slightly pink inside meat. Now it was a birthday treat from my wife and son so I didnt want to make a fuss but when i asked the waitress, who was lovey btw she says its Entrecote for sure... honestly for the money it was average at best. Better to serve and say what it actually is than deceive customers.

A short trip to Lüneburg is the natural consequence after visiting Lübeck. The salt that made Lübeck rich actually came from Lüneburg! At the former harbor in the water district (Wasserviertel), you'll find this "Old Crane," a (secret) symbol of Lüneburg. This is where the precious salt ("white gold") was shipped, bringing great wealth to the city during the time of the Hanseatic League. In the Middle Ages, the crane was an important tool for lifting heavy loads, especially salt bags, onto ships or onto land—thus allowing the salt to be transported further to Lübeck through the Stecknitz Canal. Two old ships can still be seen there. And there are plenty of lovely Cafés around the square - a true tourist magnet! 🤩

The restaurant has amazing location near by the river, and it is a big one. As you can see from the pictures they have nice view and atmosphere. The staff was very warm, friendly and quick service. They serve Lavazza coffee and the cakes were fantastic, and also normal prices. Strongly recommend and if I have the chance I would definitely visit it again!

The city hall is supposed to be one of the most beautiful city halls in Germany, which was as the city itself was luckily was not destroyed during the war. Liebesgrund is a Park in Lüneburg with a playground for children. Great place to walk the dog. There is a children's mini-festival every year. Sometime Flea-Markets are held there.

This place is for the people who want to relax in wonderful atmosphere near am sande after your shopping or outing. Parallely children can enjoy in the nearby park.. As a immigrant in this city, I was in a need to visit Bürgeramt often which allows me to spend time in this place since both are nearby or next to each other.

It is one of the most beautiful park in Lüneburg. In the middle age this was the formal moat of the Lüneburg Wall. You can also see the historical Wall of Lüneburg a little bit. There is a big lawn to play soccer, frisbee and other stuff. For the people with small children: there is a lovely kindergarten which has a big playing ground which is publicly accessable.

I’ll start with the positive. Amazing place, the service and attention was impeccable, the sommelier made a great wine recommendation and the food was good. Only reason I don’t give them 5 stars is because we ordered a medium cooked steak, and we received an almost well done.

I am so picky & rarely leave a review of a restaurant unless it’s perfection or horrible. This place is perfection. Kudos to the chef & owners. The staff is amazing and the food is to die for from starters, right through dessert & drinks. Our server Reuben was helpful, attentive and a pleasure. To start, I had the artichoke & my husband had the venison liver pate. Incredible. For main, I had the best fish & chips EVER. My husband had the wild boar loin & he said it was excellent. We ended with Orange crème brûlée that was out of this world. Danke to the chef for a memorable meal & to Reuben for the best service. I’ll end with the atmosphere & view being so beautiful.

Beatiful restaurant with great food. The interior is red brick decorated with objects that give safari / hunter's lodge wibe but done in a cool modern way. The kitchen on the ground floor is open to all to see. R&B music on the speakers, disco ball in the toilets - really great combination of old and new. The dishes were kind of the same - fresh, simple, well known but served/ prepared differently. The catch of the day was melting in the mouth, deer (that our waitress said, was shot by the shef, which could have been a joke, but also very likely 😁) soft (though in my husband's opinion cooked a bit too long), chesnut ice cream/chocolate mouse dessert - great finish to a great meal. Highly recommend!

Nice cellar restaurant with a cosy vibe. Great little Spanish-inspired tapas menu. The place gets pretty crowded though, so a reservation is recommended for groups. It’s also pretty loud, so having a proper conversation can get a bit tricky.

Quite nice and cozy location in a old cellar. The menu is good for Lüneburg but rather average in overall comparison. The wine selection could be better, although they offer great red wines in the pricy end of the menu. I really enjoyed the cocktails and would come back for them...

In our last three or four visits, we noticed a gradually decreasing quality, we don't prefer it anymore. Hands down the best Currywurst I had in recent years (and that applies to either one of the two types of sausage; I tried both)! One star deducted only because they touch the bread with bare/unwashed hands (that also handle money, etc.). To me that is a hygiene no-no, specially when corona should've heightened hygiene awareness throughout the country. But still, this is the best Currywurst ever and I will be back for more (and decline the bread)!

After seeing the queue in front of this small shop we had to try it and we didn’t regret at all. We tried 3 different kinds of wurst and all of them were very delicious.

Great quality and taste of soups and sausages with probably the lowest price in town.

Tasty and affordable steaks! Beef as well as lamb and other animal cuts which is a bonus. The rib eye was decent in flavour but not out of the ordinary. The salad was good and paired well with the main course. The service was more than acceptable and staff members were friendly. The amenities were clean too. However, not an absolute top choice overall, it won't disappoint though and is only a 15-minute walk away from the central train station.

Ordered medium rare, got medium? And the staffs are not so helpful, they are too busy to take care of you. Especially, the waitress doesn’t even know what “medium rare” means.

Food was good. Our menu (Grill Teller & Holzfällersteak comes with buffet salat. Staffs are very nice and friendly. Overall very good service. I recommend to seat on the ground floor near the window for a better view. :)
