Caerlaverock Castle is a stunning medieval fortress located in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. The castle features a striking twin-towered gatehouse and is surrounded by a moat, making it an impressive sight. Its pink sandstone structure stands as a testament to its tumultuous past, having been involved in battles for the Scottish border. Built in the late 13th century on the site of earlier fortifications, the castle bears the scars of its turbulent history.
We really enjoyed our visit here. As members there was no entrance fee, but even if we were paying the entrance fees due a family of 3 was really reasonable. The castle ans grounds are really well looked after and there is a lot of interesting things to see inside the castle. It is definitely worth walking to the old castle ruins just a 5 minute walk behind the main castle. It is a great place to take a picnic and there is also a really nice park for the kids too tuckered away.
Maxine B — Google review
The road to the castle is a disaster! The gift shop and castle are worthy the visit. Staff very friendly and welcoming. We didn't go into the castle but I did take the dog around the moat as suggested by a staff member. I took lots of pictures. Beautiful views, the only thing that was a slight inconvenience is i didn't wear the right footwear! It's was a little wet around the back of the castle and my feet got soaked. Obviously this is my fault and no fault of the castle grounds. I was wearing trainers, I'd recommend boots or Wellingtons. Beautiful place though.
Samantha O — Google review
Absolutely loved this place. Soo unique in design. We visit lots of castles up and down the country and this is one of the most memorable. Beautiful surroundings, loads of history and some very knowledgeable, friendly staff. We will revisit, next time we pass through. Highly recommended
Damon A — Google review
Our favorite castle of the 10 we visited on our 2 week roadtrip. Loved the kind staff and how you feel like you have the place to yourself to explore. It really feels like a fairytale with a moat and original site you can walk to nearby. So pictaresque and worth the drive.
Sally C — Google review
Fabulous little castle, really interesting place with loads of history. Only a short journey from Dumfries. We didn't have to book ahead of time and were able to park easily. They also have a great little shop and small cafe. Lots of places to have a picnic and the area is great for dogs, with some nice paths and walks
Ricky H — Google review
Great place to visit, some restoration work being carried out, at present.Good car parking area, gift shop and video area to educate you on the history of the site. You do a small walk to the original castle site. Well worth a visit. Some areas of the castle are not accessible by wheel chair, for obvious reasons.
Spider — Google review
My favorite Castle of my first 9 days in Scotland. This one has a moat, like a true castle should. The draw bridge was destroyed centuries ago, along with part of the roof, and sections of it have been exposed to the elements for some time. There are sections repaired allowing access to the multiple levels where there is a roof protection that section. The prison was in good condition too. Crazy to know the prisoners were just tossed from 2 stories into the pit. Don’t bother checking out the original castle a short walk away, as it is flattened, and the perimeter blocks are all left near foundation level. Check out my photos.
Will C — Google review
Very interesting Castle/s. Parts were closed off but there was enough to have a wander around (albeit it's not particularly large for a castle. The staff in the shop/visitor centre were helpful and friendly. Worth a visit if you like castles/historic buildings.

Theme Parks
Dino Park at Hetland offers a journey back in time to the prehistoric era, featuring safari-style walks among model dinosaurs and interactive workshops for kids. Visitors can explore the Dino Mine, learn fascinating facts in the Dino Den, and engage in activities like fossil digging and bouncing on dinosaur-themed attractions. The park also boasts a wooded area with lifelike dinosaur models equipped with motion sensors that trigger realistic sounds upon approach.
Great place to bring younger ones reasonable price to get in. Good/fair weather needed to get the best out of the actual Dino bit. You need to walk through the garden centre to get to the Dino park. Staff are really helpful in both the garden centre and Dino park. Tropical feel to the walk around part, and lots of animatronic Dino's to look at with a genuine Jurassic park film theme running through it. Soft play is big enough with a toddler/baby area and wasn't too busy when we were there To the owners, congrats you've done a unique job and hope you feel it's been worth it. Personally loved the foliage, mine and the bridge.
Alli S — Google review
Visited Hetland Garden Centre and Dino Park with my extended family of young adults. We all ate at the garden centre's cafe which had a well catered menu with options for vegans and intolerances. There was also a good selection of delectable cakes and desserts. A little on the expensive side but the food and service were all very good. The Dino Park was reasonably priced at £6 for adults and cheaper for children. The staff member was extremely friendly and helpful and the Park itself was well laid out with plenty to see and explore.
Gary H — Google review
Absolutely brilliant family day out. We brought our 3yr old son for the first time and he had a great day. He said "best day ever!" Lots to do and see. Not expensive either.
Lou G — Google review
Absolutely rubbish! We paid over £50 to see a bunch of plastic dinosaurs that don't even move...you can walk around it in less than 10 minutes, and they make you pay extra for soft play! The place is an absolute waste of time and money and looking very tired. The restaurant wasn't much better, lots of flies in the cake cabinet and the meals are more like kids party food! Please don't waste your money here! Go to one of the other local amazing farm parks or activities!
Scott — Google review
The dinosaur trail only takes 10/15m to walk around, but you stop and explore, 'digging' up bones and exploring the area. We stayed for about 2 hours, did three laps and spend an hour in the soft play. Decent hot food, really engaging staff with the kids, and unlike a lot of soft plays not cramped and really well maintained. Absolute must stop with dinosaur obsessed toddlers. A real gem.
Richard B — Google review
Great place to take kids. Really nice garden centre too. Lovely staff. Surprisingly quiet on a Saturday, the soft play even more so but that was definitely not a bad thing.
Greg R — Google review
Loved it. Went close to opening time and it was so lovely and quiet, perfect for my 3 autistic boys. Lots of different dinosaurs to see and they loved digging for fossils. Nice little playground in the middle for a run around. The soft play was good, not too big so easy to keep an eye on the kids. Staff were all very nice and friendly, talked us through the whole thing before we went in. It was just great.
Danielle S — Google review
The garden centre is lovely with some really great products, the soft play was brilliant- really great space and very clean. The disappointment was the Dino Park, for the price it was a real let down. Very tired models and not enough activities to be considered a family attraction. Advice to the owners knock the Dino Park on the head and focus on the rest of the business.

Mabie Farm Park in Dumfries offers a delightful blend of outdoor and indoor activities for visitors of all ages. The park features quad biking, paddle boats, a long slide, trampolines, and a petting zoo with rare breeds of animals like pigs, sheep, goats, ponies, horses, guinea pigs, chipmunks and more. Additionally, the park provides scenic walks suitable for all skill levels through the beautiful Mabie Burn woodland.
An absolute bargain and a must visit on a sunny day! The staff were friendly and helpful, there was so much for the children to do that we were tempted to come back the next day. The food and drink were fantastic and the location is stunning.

Fantastic place for both kids and adults. Much cheaper than most similar places. Staff are very friendly and always seem to be happy to answer any questions. Amazing scenery, fun things to do, could easily spend the whole day here! Lots of slides, tobogins, play park, bouncy pillows, go carts, hay barn, trampolines and a little train ride which you can go on more than once. Fed lots of animals, there was a petting session with guinea pigs, rabbits and ferrets and then kids fed milk to the baby lambs. They loved it! Just be aware that some animals, (a goat in our case) are very clever, and whilst you feed another animal they grab the feed bag out of your hands 🤣 All very funny though. Oh and there's a lovely cafe and delicious ice cream to end your day off. Perfect day, thanks we will be back again when next in Scotland! 😁👍
Sharon T — Google review
Honestly, one of, if not, THE best open farm we have ever visited across Ireland and Scotland! Loads of space, amazing cafe, plenty of opportunities to get up close and personal with the animals and loads of activities for the kids. We loved it and highly recommend a visit for young and old!
Zoë N — Google review
Great park, plenty parking and fair priced. Kids absolutly shattered on the way home, just way i like it to be. Guess it was the outdoor activities and dragging the seats to the top of the slides repeatedly. Disappointed boat pond closed due to lack of water And quad bikes also closed. But my kids still had a blast without so 5*
Pots C — Google review
Had never been here before. Visited on our way home from our holiday in Scotland. We loved it. It was alot bigger than most farms I'd been to and they have a lot of animals to feed. I'd recommend getting atleast 2 bags of feed as we only got the 1 and didn't have enough to give to all of the animals! Alot of other things to do there aswell, could of spent the whole day there if we didn't have a long drive home.
Liam T — Google review
This place was absolutely fantastic family day out, we visited out of season so there wasn't crowds of people. There was so much to do for children and adults alike. All the outdoor slides and activities were so much fun!!! The kids loved feeding the animals and the cafe was a lovely spot to grab lunch. Would highly recommend a visit if in the area but also worth making the trip if travelling from further afield.

The establishment, situated in an elegant Georgian country house encompassing 18 acres of private parkland, provides picturesque vistas of the Solway Firth.
A warm welcome on arrival set the tone for our stay. Room was lovely. We enjoyed drinks on the terrace and had a wander round the grounds. Dinner service was relaxed and the food excellent. Plenty of choice. Breakfast again was delicious. We will definitely return.

We had a really nice one week stay at the hotel and managed to explore so many nearby places . I was even told I’ve seen more of South West Scotland in a week than most locals! The room itself was clean and comfortable, though the view was just of the parking area. It would have been great to have a fridge or minibar, especially in the summer, to keep drinks cold. A small downside too was the lack of Netflix on the smart TV. On the positive side, breakfast was tasty and the dinner we had couple of times at the Copper Beech restaurant was excellent. The service was friendly, and overall, the hotel gave us memorable stay.

Came in late evening to check in after a lovely meal beautiful grounds, love the great big lions at the entrance. Lovely lady at reception booked us in the weather was really bad out side and she gave us an upgrade to a superior room as in photos very happy with the hotel and rooms are spacious clean and well presented bed is very comfortable and had a great night sleep. The staff are great and friendly breakfasts was delicious would stay here again in a heartbeat

My family and I went to Hetland Hall yesterday for afternoon tea and had such a lovely time! The food was amazing and we have to give a special shout out to Sophie who was so friendly and welcoming. She made us some lovely mocktails which were some of the best we’ve had so I definitely recommend trying! The whole afternoon tea felt relaxed and enjoyable with the great service we were provided. We will definitely be back again soon :).

A wonderful stay on the lead up to our wedding. Our room was booked on the wrong day, an error which we’re unsure if it was our fault or the hotel’s, however Harry and Cyprian went over and above to accommodate us and encouraged us to go and relax while it was all sorted behind the scenes. We can’t thank them enough and they are an asset to the hotel. Thank you!

Stayed at Hetland Hall a few times and every time the service has been really good with absolutely no criticisms at all. The Sunday DBB package / offer was great value for money. All the staff were friendly and efficient and the food at breakfast and dinner was excellent. Great choice of food and service was spot on. Would recommend and will stay with them again.

Food 4/10 Prawn cocktails- frozen prawns no flavour, bread wasn't toasted as menu described Breakfast- sausage and black pudding under cooked. Poach egg over cooked. No toast. Not really child friendly. Shower door broken as well as bath plug. When sofa-bed out not much space to walk around kept banging into stuff.

Great for taking an old car to on a tour of Scotland, very safe. Food delicious. Rooms clean and comfortable. Dumfries and Galloway so pretty great for driving through. Absolutely fantastic hotel – I can’t recommend it highly enough. From the moment you arrive, the atmosphere is warm, cosy, and genuinely welcoming. The rooms are spotless and beautifully designed, offering both comfort and style. Basil the parrot is an absolute delight and adds a unique charm to the stay. Every member of staff is friendly, attentive, and goes out of their way to make you feel at home. A truly memorable experience.

One of the best hotels I have stayed in for quite a while. Fantastic rooms, spacious, great decor. Great staff, friendly, relaxed, don't stand staring at you in the dining hall. Wonderful setting for casual strolls or if you wish, long hikes into the forest areas connected to the hotel. Highly recommend.

Just had our wedding here at the weekend (16.08.2025) and what a weekend it was. We started off with a lovely meal on Friday night which was delicious. The rooms were all lovely and clean and super comfortable. The staff at Mabie House couldn’t have been more attentive and helpful, they made us feel so at home. From our initial visit to Mabie House to leaving on Sunday morning, Phillipa, Sam, and the team met our every wish and then some! Our wedding was everything that we wanted and more due to their organisation and attention to detail. Nothing was a hassle or a problem for this amazing team of staff! So many of our guests have commented saying it was the best wedding they have ever been to. The grounds of Mabie House are stunning and made for the perfect backdrop for our special day. We really had the best day ever, it was perfect. Thank you so much again to everyone at Mabie House, it truly was a day to remember!

Advertised as dog friendly but isn't really. Booked 2 nights. Both mornings we were placed at a tiny table next to the reception desk and front door (which was cold) for our breakfast because we were not allowed in the dining room...I appreciate dogs not being welcome in some places when people are eating, but at least have a designated room like all other hotels have, otherwise you are falsely advertising that you are dog friendly when in reality you just tolerate them. This was the reason why we never ate an evening meal and went out instead, I have never felt so outcasted in an establishment. Room was large but got sick of killing flies and beetles for 2 nights running. Our one hot breakfast we had was swimming in grease. For £130 a night i would expect better. Not somewhere I would stay again

Quaint hotel in the countryside. Very friendly staff and fantastic food. In my bedroom there were sadly no curtains or blackouts, just a slatted blind so there was too much light on a June morning.

First class meal tonight. All food extremely tasty and great value . As a local it’s way above nearby competition. Dining room nicely done out and it was worth mentioning the professionalism of the young waiting team all of who were very mannerly and pleasant

Was made to feel like an inconvenience just for walking in, staff are rude and uncaring. Atmosphere in the front bar felt like a funeral. Didn't order food as what the table was eating next to me didn't look like it was worth it. Don't bother.

We dropped in for lunch and we're very pleasantly surprised by the service and the quality of the food. We met four of the staff and they were all really helpful and lovely, made us feel welcome and relaxed. I had a mixed grill and expected to be lauding the rump steak; but the sausages, haggis and black pudding made the rump seem less significant. What a well prepared meal it was and at a perfectly fair price. We'd go back at the drop of a hat and would happily stay at the hotel given the friendly welcome. Good people, good food.

The Range is fantastic for most of your needs. It's quite a large store and it was the 1st time we'd ever been in to a Range ever. Its sells furniture, such as table and chairs, nice wooden wardrobes, lovely tall stools for a breakfast bar or kitchen islands, in different materials too. All different kinds of mirrors, some huge, some small, really nice ones! The prices were good too. Lampshades and they also have a light section, some lovely lights and fittings... Tons and tons of arts and craft stuff from modge podge, glitter, acrylics, ribbons, stencil presses, you name it they have it much better than Hobby Craft! All needs for going back to school/uni/work etc, backpack, lunchbox, even school uniforms, little polo shirts and pinafores/trousers. Then housewares stuff, such as garden paints housepaint, wallpaper etc. Then suitcases and pet stuff and at the back you've got paddle boards, gazebos bbq and accessories, garden furniture etc. It's only 5 minutes away from the A75 and Morrisons is only the car park.

Situated in a historic pub on a flagstone passage, The Globe Inn Dumfries is known for its local cuisine and a small museum dedicated to the renowned poet Robert Burns. While retaining its traditional roots as an inn, this establishment offers contemporary gastropub menus crafted by chefs with extensive experience in three Michelin starred restaurants. Located on Dumfries High Street, The Globe Inn is steeped in history and was frequented by Burns himself for relaxation, dining, and contemplation.
One of a kind culinary experience in Robert Burn's favourite howff originally opened in 1610. We ordered two dishes and a few drinks and were surprised with a complementary amuse-bouche and a sweet at the end. The flavour and presentation of each dish were phenomenal. Their ingredients are sourced from local produce, which makes the meal more special. Furthermore, the staff were attentive, and the pacing of the meal was perfect. We were also shown a glimpse of Robert Burn's bedroom as a nice end to the evening. Already planning our next visit :)

My cousins and I were in Dumfries for a wedding, and while planning the trip, came across The Globe Inn. We decided to go more out of curiosity for the history than for the food, thinking it was a once-in-a-lifetime visit. Arriving there and seeing the menu, we went all in with the 7-course meal. And wow!!! it knocked our socks off! We’ve all traveled quite a bit, and we were beyond impressed. The food was phenomenal, the service impeccable, and the historical charm of the place added such a unique layer to the experience. Every course was memorable, the staff were warm and attentive, and the atmosphere was just magical. If I lived nearby, I’d be there every single week. It’s been two weeks since I returned home, and I still think about The Globe Inn—the people, the place, the flavors. What an unforgettable experience!

Our lunch was very memorable. Amazing flavours and textures, artfully designed menu and a talented team executing the experience. Fine food and drink without the portentousness. A great surprise down an ally.
Lara S — Google review
Went for a last minute meal to The Globe booked on the day on the booking system, easy enough. Been living in D&G for 18 yrs now and been meaning to go. I promise not to make it as long until the next time. When you walk in you get a sense of the age of the place, with its wonky floors, old oak features and Rabbie Burns images. We were greeted on arrival. The atmosphere was pleasant and there were more intimate rooms for couples sharing a romantic evening. We were surprised by the amues bouche that was delicious and we chose a main each, a glass of wine and a dessert. A tiny point is the Riesling should have been colder, and the cost was at the top end of a meal out, but very very much worth it. I’m not sure I’m a fan of the carpet in the restaurant, but I guess that’s personal. The massive fun and creative painting on the rear wall gives you a sense of the bustling bygone times. The service was also black gloved and excellent. Would thoroughly recommend I want to go back for the 7course tasting menu sometime soon

Cracking lunch time dinner here, very highly recommended and if you want a treat (£70pp) for us it was very much worth it! Will be back again and would recommend to anyone. Great surrounds and attentive service and the food is the best I have had in Scotland.

Took my Mum here for her birthday. The staff were fantastic and the food was out of this world. Some of the best I've ever eaten. Thoroughly recommend to everyone.

I had a fantastic dining experience at The Globe Inn on a rainy Wednesday night. Everything was delicious and the restaurant is a cool setting. I had the 7 course tasting menu. The highlight dishes for me were the Crab, Hake and Galloway Beef. Thanks for making it a memorable experience!

Robert Burns House is a historic building that was once the home of the legendary poet Robert Burns. The house now features exhibits, including a large plain jug with a salt-glaze finish that inspired Burns' epic poem "Tam o Shanter." Located in Dumfries, this region holds significance in Scottish history and creativity, being connected to the beginning of Scottish Christianity and serving as an inspiration for many of Burns' greatest works.
I did not know who Robert Burns was till I heard he wrote Auld Lang Syne. A very interesting and educational visit for those he is less known to. Lovely old decor and displays of his work as a poet and wrighter. Respect for the preservation of his work.

Nice place for a walk about..the house is small, much like all other houses. There are some interesting pieces to look at.. Donations welcome

Small museum cum house to visit. 4 rooms available to see, historic objects on display. Friendly staff. No toilets available, car parks (2x) within 2 minutes walk (St Michael's and Brooms Rd)

Really interesting little house, that was the last home of Robert Burns. Interesting facts and artifacts to explore. Free admission (you can donate). 2 rooms downstairs, upstairs not accessible.not wheelchair accessible. Lovely place.

Well worth a visit, very interesting, full of history and character. There is a free carpark not too far away and it is also in walking distance to the Mausoleum and into town. Entry is free, although they do have a donation box and also a small gift shop. The gentleman is so informative and helpful. You can even try on some of the hats and clothes in the dressing room!
Barbara B — Google review
Best one of the local museums if you like Robert Burns. He died inside this house.
Zumba S — Google review
Really interesting house to visit, even if you are not so interested in Robert Burns or know much about him. For those who are, this is where he died and each room is labelled with its original use in Burns time and there are original belongings of his and wife Jean. On one of the windows, you can see Burns has scratched his name into the glass. Amazingly, this place is free to visit, but with donations appreciated. Very much worth planning a visit along with some of the local free museums and landmarks.

Well worth a visit if your nearby, the house is small with only about five rooms, but very informative... it's a four minute walk from the house to the Church where he's buried... definitely worth a visit if your a fan.

Dock Park in Dumfries is a picturesque urban oasis that offers a range of activities for families. The park features stunning views of the River Nith and provides various amenities such as a car park, an on-site cafe, and a children's play area with swings and rope obstacles. Its classic Victorian layout includes tree-lined avenues, a bandstand, and an expansive lawn area.
This has a lovely play area with free parking. A very nice café and clean public toilets not too far away in the bowling green building. It had swings, a maze, slides, a roundabout and a zip line which was working. By the bowling green there were trampolines which were £1.50/15 minutes play. There was also mini golf.

Beautiful place for a walk with the dog and we loved seeing the waterfall too
James B — Google review
The park is in a great setting by the river lovely ambience excellent for cycling and walking, there's also, as a bonus The Hut, which is a great little cafe selling amongst other things, nice coffee and delicious home made muffins.
Neil M — Google review
This used to be such a brilliant play park but recently more and more things have been taken away to the point that my 7 year old finds it really boring. There's not even a decent size slide for kids 5+. The only reason I've not gave 1 star is because the mini golf and trampolenes are very good and reasonably priced. The Park Keeper is lovely!
Candice P — Google review
Great little park, which has a nice open feel. Also, it's a good place for a picnic whilst the children play.
Tony Y — Google review
The car park is a good size. The play park is really good it's separated into different age sections. It's has a maze. Swings, climbing frame and other play equipment. There a small cafe beside the play park. I did not use it so I'm not sure how much food/drink cost or what they serve. There a few picnic tables dotted about the park. There is crazy golf and putting and small trampolines. There is a charge for them but it's quite reasonable price and the man serving is really happy and friendly. The toilets are located beside the crazy golf. There a large grass area where you can play football,Throw rugby ball, badminton. There seats about the park so you can have a sit down.

The center also features original manuscripts and artifacts from Burns, along with interactive audio/visual exhibitions detailing his life and works.
Booked and stopped in for a baby friendly screening. Easy to access with the pushchair, room to park it in the auditorium, comfier seating that some chain cinemas. Really friendly staff and so good to be able to get to the cinema and not have to miss out. Sound and lighting were at perfect levels to not deafen and so it was easy to move about if necessary. Would definitely recommend.

Bonnie's Bistro on top floor is a great spot. Mr and Mrs Howat are consummate family hosts. Food and wine/beer offering spot on. Try the river view terrace. Locals recommended it and were spot on.

Wonderful authentic restaurant Great service and atmosphere. Excellent menu choices. Nice wine. Fantastic home made soup, hot and very flavourful and superb steak pizza, with proper light, perfectly cooked dough, great flavours, with fresh tomatoes and rocket and the steak was beautifully cooked fresh. I highly recommend this restaurant.

This is a great wee hide away has a rustic italian home feel to it I can see the feel they are going for , had the king prawn salad which was way better than I thought it would be the flavour was amazing so juicy. Would have been better to have fresh olives tho that was a downfall for me if going to an true Italian I wouldn't expect jared olives but the rest was amazing

Got a take away pizza on Sunday evening. Great pizza, dough cooked to perfection, all fresh and handmade then put into the stone oven for baking. Didn’t take long to cook at all. My only gripe was the waitress seemed uninterested in attending to us. The chef had to prompt her, then she just thrust the card machine at us. I appreciate it was nearing close but a “Hello, how can I help?” Or “That’s x amount please” and a goodbye would have been a nice touch for your customers.
Rambo L — Google review
We really enjoyed our meals. The restaurant has a classic Italian feel. It reminds of the ones my Italian dad took us to when I was a child. Gorgeous and delicious pizzas, lovely service and relaxed atmosphere. We will definitely visit again.

Excellent restaurant in every respect. 4 of us all with different tastes thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The food is excellent, the staff are professional, helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. It is also in a great location by the river, ideal for a walk in pleasant surroundings along the river to burn some of the calories off after the meal. Give it a try,you won’t be disappointed.

Nice enough food. Though the service is lacking and is the bare minimum of begrudgingly taking orders and putting plates down. I also found some plastic in my arancini, or the sauce it came with. The server barely even shrugged when I told him. I'm sure the manager/owner would have cared more but I doubt he was told at all.

The Pancake Place is a delightful eatery that evokes nostalgia for many, as it has remained a cherished spot for years. With its charming atmosphere and friendly service, it's the perfect place to enjoy a meal with loved ones. The pancakes are light and fluffy, generously topped to satisfy any sweet tooth. Diners can also indulge in hearty options like Mac and Cheese or traditional Scottish breakfasts, making it an ideal choice for breakfast or lunch.
Was worried that as a gluten free person I was going to be stuck with the standard Jacket Potato but not the case! Got a stack of gluten free pancakes, bacon and maple syrup. Thank you so much for catering to GF customers, it makes all the difference to our day! Service was quick, price reasonable and left happy and full!

Recommend the Grand Slam breakfast. Two of bacon, sausage, egg and tattie scone with tomato, beans, mushrooms, haggis and black pudding. Oh, and four slices of toast.

A trip down memory lane with my mum as we use to have lunch here when I was just out of school. It hasn't changed much and is as good a value as it ever was. The pancakes were lovely and light with a generous portion of topping. Definitely will be back. The also serve regular food and the girls next to us had Mac and Cheese which looked great.

We had breakfast at this yummy cafe on Monday. Service was excellent very friendly and had crayons for our young son. He loved his pancake with bananas. Very generous portions. I had the Scottish breakfast and my hubby had big breakfast. Only slight criticism would be that Lorne sausage would have been more traditional. Def recommend
Shirleyanne H — Google review
Our waitress has just the loveliest smile. The food comes quick and it's plentiful. Maybe too plentiful: a pancake six-pack of heart stopping proportions. Once a year if you are looking after your pancreas. See you next year folks!
Peter L — Google review
If I could give this restaurant NO or negative stars I would. I ordered the Beef Burger and it was absolutely disgusting. The beef patty looked processed and cheap, it was dry and didn't taste of beef. The Burger had no garnish and the tomato relish was sparse. To finish off the burger the buns where dry not buttered or toasted. This meal & restaurant needs to be on Ramsey's "Hells Kitchen" - The chef has either lost the will to cook or just can't cook. Please see my photo.... My dining experience ended with the bill. I WASN'T asked if everything was ok with my meal. Very disappointing.

£22 for 3 dishes is quite the steal. The dishes are actually quite big which is nice as many other tapas will give you 3 pieces of calamari and charge you £7. I was completely full just on my own and I could see this filling up two people. Food was good. Philly cheese steak maybe could be a bit more seasoned. Staff are lovely and the place is beautiful. Would recommend.

This restaurant is great for a meal out. Tapas deal on my visit £20 for 3 items /bowls per person. Really good food and filling too, no silly wee helpings! Sweets are available as an extra if required. Drinks reasonable price. Cocktails delicious too. Attentive table service through out Atmosphere pleasant. Highly recommended.

Great to see a place doing well on a Monday night. Enjoyed the tapas coming out as it was ready however this was a lot of leg work for the waitress as she had to deliver food 8 times as we had 15 plates. Kerry was our server and she was fantastic. Not sure if she's the owner but if she's not she knows just how to manage a restaurant floor. Nice touch of a fountain candle for my partners birthday. Tapas is my favourite way to eat we enjoyed our evening thank you!
Sam S — Google review
Our original dinner choice was having a pop up and not serving their normal food, and our backup was closed on a night they showed they would be open so we ended up at The Bank. I really like the way they do the menu. Tapas are always fun. The cocktail I had was phenomenal. The service was ok. The food was ok. The best thing were the ribs my husband ordered — tangy with a hint of crispness around the edges. The street corn could have been fabulous (the flavor was good), but they either used frozen corn or boiled it forever because it was soggy. The panko cauliflower was tasty but also a little on the soggy side. I think this would be better to serve with the sauce as a dip to keep it fresh and crunchy. The sweet and sour pork was great.

Cafe
Morrisons Cafe is a delightful spot to unwind after a shopping spree, offering a cozy atmosphere where you can enjoy a cup of tea and indulge in some delicious cake. The menu features an appealing selection of dishes, with the 'cream tea' for one being particularly popular for its excellent value. While service may occasionally be slow due to staffing at the till, the wait is generally brief. Many visitors rave about their experiences here, especially praising the hearty Scottish breakfast that leaves you feeling satisfied and full.
I’ve been to this Morrisons cafe a few times now and the food is great you can’t beat it . I’ve tried the local Tesco and Wetherspoons and they don’t compare , I always have the Scottish breakfast.I can never finish it as it’s so filling , the staff are always friendly and the place is clean .
The L — Google review
For Morrisons, the food is subpar. It used to be good here. There is a disconnect also between what's available on the app Vs what's available on the counter, like the cakes for example. The quality of the food was poor, it wasn't cook very well, chips were under done, eggs were overdone. The staff seem under duress so if they weren't very helpful I can see why. I wouldn't recommend it at all. Also find it bizarre they use bad ingredients like tinned peas and run out of square sausages when there is a fully stocked supermarket next to it!
Jon B — Google review
Wow this place needs closing, diabolical food and cutlery was filthy and smelly. It is basic microwave precooked breakfast items. Utter vile. The staff are very rude, don’t dare ask for any changes you will be scolded for it. The place is just not nice at all. I used to go to Morrisons cafe on a stop off but the services are far cleaner and nicer. Sort it out Morrisons.
Jo W — Google review
Absolutely horrendous customer service and qaulity of food. I ordered a chicken burger with chips and salad. The salad had plastic in it and my girlfriend was served a frozen cheesecake. I tried to tell a server about the plastic I had found and she dismissed me by saying "I'm busy serving customers" and walked away as if I wasn't also a customer. Initially I was only telling them because I didn't want it to happen to anyone else, I didn't even want a refund. After the atrocious customer service I logged the complaint formally and did receive a refund. Awful experience.

Came in ages ago, forgot to post my review. I asked for make my own breakfast items on the terminal before you go in the cafe I chose a poached egg a member of staff came out after I had put the order through saying sorry no poached eggs today really more like laziness on their part.Breakfast was cold when it came out.No cappuccino as the coffee machine was broken they never mentioned it was broken.Haven't been back since.
Rebecca W — Google review
I had a vegan breakfast. It arrived quickly but everything was barely warm. Sausages had been microwaved and had no taste. Tea was nice though
Liz W — Google review
The cafe was dirty understaffed no white rolls for a chip butty despite plenty on supermarket shelf. Chips were cold and cake in chilly was dried out and tasted stale. No cuttlery i.e. tea spoons no cartons of milk and no servietes. What else can you expect. Customer services only direct you to going on line to complain. No customer skills. This is a regular place for me and my wife but we give the cafe a wide birth from now on. The place and the supermarket are going down hill fast. Even the shelves are half empty at 1500 hrs. No bread and nothing being baked. Head for Tesco Lidl or Aldi where they have stock on the shelves. Even the staff I spoke to agreed with my points. Come on Morrison's buck your ideas up.
