Very nice place to Visit. Bike the whole island. Rent the boot ect so many options to look around. You can't rent bike that pitty. Very relax place to spend time with families or friends.

Cool spot with lots of nature to take a look at. There are some benches and cool paths to walk and look at the canals, I would recommend to swing by if you’re in the area and want to see some nature

Nice nature reseverve with stunning views, a great variety of birds. It is a perfect place to cycle around as the cycle paths are of high quality. There is a museum and a place to stop for a break. As there is a lot of water, there is a system of little ferries for cyclists and persons but please check their opening times.

Stunning. Had a completely mad few days of beer, grub & metal, so decided to walk off some of the offending calories in the National Park on the way back to the Ferry. So glad we did, what a stunning place. Absolutely beautiful. Could happily get lost there for a week or ten. :)

If you’re interested in long walks while taking in a beautiful surrounding.This is a place to be. Willow forest, openfields and grassland..makes a hike or bike ride perfect.. Gaze at the geese, mind your step there goes a snail... Rent a boot and head out on the water.., There is also a variety of vacationparks where you can stay and enjoy nature and a bunch of activities..

A must see for anyone visiting the Netherlands. Tranquil, beautiful nature with incredible views. Lots of options to take a cruise from Drimmelen.

The Biesbosch MuseumEiland is a very good place to rest and enjoy the national park, also you can buy the tickets for museum and boat tour visit €22 for adult. The boat tour last around for 1 hour 15 minutes, where the captain will lead you to explore the beautiful views of Biesboch National park. Meanwhile explaining the history of the national park and introducing the knowledge of the wild animals here. For the boat trip the captain is nice and friendly , the route is great, leading us the explore the beautiful scenery of the national park and the wild life bird, it’s a very relaxing way to enjoy the nature of this national park. However one of failure is that he explain all the way with Dutch even though he can speak fluent English. Besides us the ship also have some British visitors, it turns out we can’t know well what he is explaining. Although there was a pdf English version information in the boat, we didn’t know which page he was referring to. For the museum, the design is so cool, inside you can relax enjoying a cup of tea while watching the beautiful scene ofthe national park. The museum shows the history of this national park, but the common failure is that the museum only contains Dutch in its explanation, we can only refer to the images and videos to figure out what it means. If there were English it will be better.

What a great experience!The Biesbosch Museum was a pleasure to visit! We’ve driven past the park many times, but since you can’t see much from the road, we were curious to explore it more thoroughly. We’re so glad we did. We took the boat tour and visited the museum itself. The boat ride was very generous in length, lasting about an hour, and took us through the beautiful natural surroundings of the park. The guide was both funny and knowledgeable. Along the way, we spotted several bird species and even saw the paths where beavers live. Honestly, beavers should be the national animal of the Netherlands, given that they are the ideal example water management. After the boat tour, we enjoyed lunch on the lovely terrace overlooking the water. On warm days, it’s a great spot to relax and watch children play in the water feature that creatively demonstrates the effects of tides and water control. The museum was also very well done. It starts with an introductory film (only in Dutch), followed by an engaging exhibit about the history of the Biesbosch. It explains how the area was formed, the people who once lived there, and the animals that now call it home. The collection is thoughtful and informative. Overall, it’s a fantastic destination and well worth a visit. Since the wildlife and scenery change with the seasons, it’s definitely a place we plan to return to at other times of the year.

One MUST visit here to understand how Dutch people have been struggling and fighting against water. An exemplary example exhibiting how construction can be harmonized with nature without any compromise.

Very interesting place! You can take a boat tour, very nice! Is one 9f the best examples how Nature-Based Solutions help to manage flood risks and offer eco-services, such as boating, walking around surrounded by nature and pretty nice landscapes! The Museum is really complete! You have to see it! I really enjoyed this place! There is a cafeteria and souvenir shop inside 😃

Cafe is a bit expensive but great location and interesting building. Returning a year later with a group of 18 tandem cyclists, half with vision disabilities, I am equally impressed. The cafe coped very well with the group, most with no dutch language and some requiring help to be served. The woman running the cafe worked very hard, multitasking between the coffee machine and the till, to get everyone served quite quickly. This is much better service than usual in the Netherlands.

Quite impressive site. Great place to learn more about the Dutch wetlands. I would say that much of the information that you read on the walls of this venue is in Dutch. I would imagine that there are equivalent documents in your chosen language. This is a great place to enjoy with people of all ages. Learn and embrace the environment. We found it by chance as we navigated our way through the wetlands as part of our EuroVelo 15 adventure. Go, take a look!

Nice protected area albeit somewhat smaller than its southern counterpart, limited by the river Maas in the North and marshland and roads in the South and West. Also reachable from cities up the Maas as far as Rotterdam thanks to the water taxi! There is a tourist centre on site which offers food and drinks, near the parking lot, and two others spread over the area. There is a mini-ferry taking you further in the marshland but at winter seems to be closed. A small kids discovery trail is close by, and a big playground a bit further near an observatory for astronomers which also can be visited in summertime. There were lots of geese around so it’s probably a good idea, should you have a dog, to keep it on a leash at all times.

Despite the terrible weather, we had a very nice whisper boat tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and told us all about the area, its history and the animals. If you get the chance though, I would highly recommend going in good weather, because with the boat flaps down you can't see much of the area. The center itself is nice and has information about the area, and even a beaver skeleton that shows how beavers swim. The staff were kind enough to lend us umbrellas for the boat tour, thanks again!

Love this park so much, always enjoy the nature and sphere. Lot of activities to do both children and adult. We always there when the nice weather is.

Park is amazing. You can walk or take a cycling ride based on youtr distance preference. Path is marked by colours. Pets are allowed except in some paths. You can go to the centrum and have an idea and a guidebook (if you wish) about the park. There is a really good restaurant for a coffee, and a bite after a tired walking or cycling tour inside the park. The staff is really friendly. Apple pie is really tasty.!!

We arrived without a booking as a group of 18 tandem cyclists, half with vision disabilities. The group split into 11 on the whisper boat, 5 on kayak/canoes,1 stayed at the centre. Everyone enjoyed the whisper boat and stayed for a drink in the cafe afterwards. I went in a kayak and had a fabulous paddle through narrow creeks bordered by bright flowers and larger rivers with loads of bird life. The 2 chaps who ran the boat hire put in sub-minimal amounts of effort and largely ignored us when we arrived and as we helped visually impaired people in and out of the canoes. They ignored us as we dragged the canoes back to the shed and returned life jackets. Despite this, all the group were keen to return later in our holiday.

Wish we had more time to spend there. We travelled by Water bus from Rotterdam, which was an experience in itself, taking 90 minutes each way. So much to do, take out a canoe or boat. We took the Whisper Tour, the Captain explaining the ecology in Dutch. It would have been so much better if the commentary was in other languages, with my wife and I being the only English speaking visitors on board he could easily have given an English Commentary. It needs a full day to take it all in and walk the riverscape and explore in a day. Taking a Water Bus does take three hours of your day, but it is a lovely experience with great views along the river trip.

We did a go-kart event as a group. They stopped our 12-minute race at the 5th minute without any warning, claiming that we were driving dangerously, and ended the race. We objected, but they did not refund our remaining minutes or our money. Although we were wronged, we left the venue so that the argument would not escalate. I am giving 1 point for our stolen rights.

Cool indoor karting place. The track is quite technical and takes some skill and guts to get some good times here. The karts themselves are not the best ive ever been in, they always seem to be a bit mismatching in performance (one is faster than another). Seats hurt my back after just 2 heats and the track is pretty demanding on the grip of your hands.

It's always a good experience to come to this track. Very friendly staff. Feels like they've changed the go-karts since the last time I was here. These karts are a bit uncomfortable to drive, not possible to adjust the position. But they are fast, it worths the time.

If you want a quick drive near Dordrecht, this track is great. Affordable prices and decent karts. Not a large track, but it's fun nevertheless.

Soo much to do there's go karting 10 min heats for €17,50, laser tag 15 min don't know the price for this but don't think its more then 20 so thats a plus and there is also Segway

Lasergame was fun. A large battle zone with plenty of places to hide. Slotrace did not work properly on all 8 lanes. Two were broken.

This restaurant deserves a Michelin star! The best vegetarian food I have ever tasted! Great service, super friendly and helpful personal, great sphere. Overall a fantastic experience! Dogs are also welcome 🦮

Best restaurant where I have eaten. Ever since we discovered this restaurant my wife and I made it a yearly tradition to eat and stay here. Just the two of us without the kids. Very good food, very enjoyable breakfast and every time a completely zen weekend. Looking forward to the next time already.

Celebrated a new job with the 6 course menu. One vegan and one not. Had a pleasant experience. All dishes were presented taking time, and the wines matches perfectly. Lots of ways to prepare food we did not have before. For one that sometimes still eats meat, the meat wasn't missed at all. Looking forward to the next thing we can celebrate as we are eager to go back.

We came from Berlin and enjoyed the most amazing vegetarian tasting menu. So rich in surprising combinations and flavors. Besides 10 really delicous courses the service was very friendly and attentive. And I was super happy that everything could be arranged glutenfree. We highly highly recommend this restaurant and you can feel that Liesbeth and the team bring in a lot of passion. Thank you for four hours of mindblowing taste varieties. Amazing restaurant. The food is colorful, prepared in many exotic ways and invites for mindful eating. The ambiance is friendly and inviting. We had an excellent night, no complains about anything, and were served a breakfast way past any expectations we could have had.

One of the coolest nicest Restaurants on our Rhine tour so far. Vegetarian menu, but even me, the meat ball, had the greatest tasting food since a long time.

The bed in the lantern room is extremely uncomfortable. There’s such potential for the hotel to be a bit more luxurious, given the location & the beautiful gardens. The thrifted furniture and cheap prints on the walls aren’t exactly the best home away from home feeling. Breakfast falls short for dairy free options unfortunately and it was known before arrival. The view is unmatched from the lantern room though, very nice and nice there’s heating and cooling. Very much liked that.

Best food I ate out. Amazing garden. People actually cooking real food with real ingredients why is this so rare? I love it!

The location and staff are good. However, the food is very basic. For example, we ordered a pasta and it was super basic and seemed that a 15-year old person with zero experience had made it. So, my recommendation is to avoid ordering any food there and only stick to drinks and enjoy its atmosphere.

The garden is incredible and very beautiful. I loved the Borlottibonen met geroosterde biet, pompoen. Which was vegan. My friends were a little lee shoah

The restaurant at villa Augustus is amazing, a real must visit! They have many tasty dishes to choose from all with local products and plated beautifully. The vibe is in the restaurant is relaxed and the staff is really nice. Besides the restaurant you should also have a walk through the garden where they grow their own produce. And at the end of your visit you should have a look at their store with home goods and local produce. All in all, villa augustus is a great place and I would definitely recommend it.

The location is full of potential - eating in the garden, under the tower - would be perfect if the food and staff improve. We ate eggs Benedict on a toast which were good, but the pasta dish was completely overcooked. The biggest disappointment was the staff - we felt unwanted and completely unseen, had to ask for for every single thing: to clean up our table, to bring menu, to get our food, then to get cutlery while the food was getting cold and then to pay. Felt like a joke for this price. Such a shame.

Had a walk in lunch. Nice location, food was acceptable but definitely not outstanding, and a tat wee overpriced for what it was. Had a hard time attracting the attention of the teenage staff, which was more busy having fun together most of the time.

It was an experience. Some courses of food were better than others. The wine pairing was excellent!

I think classic music will be better than Lana Del Rey for this ambiance The staffs were wonderful, they were nice, professional

Arguably the best restaurant in town. We enjoyed the Sunday evening “compartir” formula, where you get to share ten courses with your company. Although the first dishes could have followed each other a bit quicker - from a purely nutritious standpoint - the slow pace was an overall excellent experience. The dishes were served over a time space of more than three hours, leaving lots of room for reflection on the excellent dishes that made their way to our table. The wine arrangement was also well chosen. Staff was friendly enough and well trained, although the focus shifted a bit too early from guests to closing preparations.

This is a fantastic restaurant, working on the concept of a surprise menu (between 4 and 7 courses). We were very pleasantly surprised by the 5 course menu and the wine pairing was really great for every serving. When in Dordrecht put this on your "to visit" list.

Decent place for a quick bite or drink but fairly pricey. Also no smoke free area on the terrace. Staff tried to be helpful and find a less smokey spot which was appropriated, service was good and quick.

Perfect place to 'get out of town' if you will. Came here at lunch after a long night of drinking and got started with a frozen Esma. Got the gears grinding (in w good way). After that a solid lunch with snacks: Calamari recommended. Got salmon for dinner. Perfect. Fatty fish, good flavours. Perfect getaway next to the Biesbosch. Solid 10/10, would recommend.

It was a real local discovery. The service is impeccable and friendly. The atmosphere is superb with a view of the small marina. Succulent food! Black Angus can be cut with a fork as it is tender and cooked ideally. Little extra for foreign tourists: Visa and MasterCard accepted, which makes the stay less stressful knowing this.

Restourant was ok. But boat rental place was a disaster. Boats are old(also a bit rusted), staff are not helping at all, whole place covered by moss (i dont know whey do not clean the entrance) and almost imposible to row. I believe they are just wasting a huge potential.

Interesting museum with a good collection of paintings. Nice and friendly staff. For children there is a separate interactive exhibition "Ik zie, Ik zie". It was a lot of fun. We especially liked the room where there was a wall with a fur. When you stroke it, it purrs like a cat.)))

This museum is one of the most underrated ones in the Netherlands. I would compare it to the Frans Hals museum in Haarlem, but way less crowded and with an art collection that’s just as captivating. Dordrecht isn’t known for tourism so you wouldn’t think that they have such a high concentration of amazing museums in such a small area, but what else can you expect from the oldest and most historic city in Holland?

I really liked the collection on display with some works being really different and breaking up the styles a bit. but a lot of paintings where to high to see well but from far away and even then some still had too much glare. Also was very strange to say ai generated videos on screens in a museum, put another painting there instead of slop.

De Witt exhibition is astonishing. A remarkable moment in Dutch history.

I recommend the permanent collection. There is a room dedicated to Ary Schepper. There are paintings by Rembrandt and portraits of Max Liebermann and Israels. The collection spans several centuries. The space is contemporary and there is a cafe, a garden and a large auditorium. They also have a youth program called TakePart. It is a paid internship for youth between 16 and 22. The public education program allows people to learn about the special exhibits and also interact with artists. The elevator makes the spaces accessible for those using wheelchairs and walkers, as well as baby carriages. My visits were on a Friday and Saturday. I also took a summer course on those days.

I really how different themes and the effect of different centuries are combined and shown in such an authentic way! You start with classical pieces and then it evolves to modern pieces, you finish it with hands on experience, I drew myself using a photo they provided, it was really fun!

A magnificent museum that has curated 6 centuries of Dutch masterpieces. Dordrecht is not exactly a tourist city but it's only 15 minutes by train from Rotterdam, or about an hour from Amsterdam. It's a gorgeous city full of history. It's really worth a visit and this museum certainly is!

Gorgeous venue with stunning architecture! Beautiful foyer, comfortable seats, many charming details. Nice acoustics, good size stage but very tiny orchestra pit (I wouldn’t even call it such!) The audience was welcoming and very much enjoyed our performance of Nutcracker. My only bitter impression came from one of the venue’s employees who quite arrogantly kicked out of the hall my 8-year old son and some of my colleagues from the orchestra, who got to rest that night due to the small size of the pit and asked if they could possibly watch the performance (there were some free seats in the hall, so they easily could have been accommodated).

We came an embarrassing 30 mins late. A crew member came to pick us and helped us to get in the show. He was so friendly. It’s a small theatre and nicely renovated and well maintained. Very pretty space. Super cute show where we had wine and snacks. Such an entertaining afternoon and so affordable! A gem for the city. I would go back.

Nice theatre with a real nice looking main 'stage'. Video (screen) could be a bit better with the Joris Luyendijk show - Het zijn net mensen 2.0. The small food/drink arrangement for the pause is a always a good thing to choose aswell.

Awesome little place. But don't choose first row (row a), because your neck will hurt from looking up. Due to the size, first row balcony is best. Good restaurant/bar before and after events.

Nice atmosphere but not all that organized (1 consumption included in ticket price, but cannot be used before the show, some counter was apparently a performers-only counter). The place is very limited (at best) served by public transport! Very bad! But apart from that still a nice afternoon after all.

Amazing theatre in Dordrecht city.

That was a museum I'll truly remember. As a not-so-art-interested person I was happy to find a museum that tells more about the history of the Netherlands and Dordrecht as well as which aspects the current society is interested in. I quickly forgot my initial annoyance regarding short English info about items on displays locked behind a QR code, as I was well absorbed by the overall story they tried to tell with the exhibitions. Personally I just would have wished that the "story of the house", told at certain stations, would have had adjustable volume or also the possibility to listen to via the audioguide as the volume was a bit too loud for my perception (especially with other guests around). But all in all I felt entertained, learned a lot and also looked at things from another perspective - for me the best possible outcome of a visit to a museum.

Superb museum about the history of the netherlands, dordrecht itself and also featuring a lot of personal stories. Free audio guides in dutch and English. Nice building to walk around. One can see that they try to go with the time and try new methods of exhibition without loosing what a museum stands for.

Quite a nice, recently refreshed, museum about freedom and the history of the Netherlands. Especially the film on the Unie of Dordrecht is well done with good actors. Would recommend.

If you want to know a little bit more about the history of the Netherlands or the history of Dordrecht in particular this museum is the place to be. It is housed in the historic district in Dordrecht in an early 16th century building that was once used as a place to stay by the various Princes of Orange Nassau during the 80 Years War in the 16th and 17th century. The building alone is therefore an interesting place to visit as history oozes from the walls. Its entree fee is very reasonable. The place has stairs but there is also an elevator in the center. There is also a little shop with a variety of books and toys. The basement deep in the bowels of the building features a chronological collection of various finds at and around the city of Dordrecht. The upper and middle floors house a good collection of historical artifacts, among them objects from the 80 Years' War. There is also an interesting, clever, albeit somewhat unusual reenactment of the First Meeting of the Free States of Holland back in 1572 playing every 15 minutes or so. it is certainly worth checking out. The interactive functions take a little effort to get into, as you have to 'register' before you enter and you need to find your registered name all throughout the museum to get extra background information. I have to be honest that after a few tries and being unable to find my name, I gave up. While there, do check out the recently unveiled statue of Willem of Orange in the street leading from the States Square (Statenplein) to the Hof to commemorate the First Meeting in Dordrecht.

GORGEOUS restaurant/shop with relaxed atmosphere and so many beautiful things to see (and buy!). We booked a High Tea for two - the selection of snacks and cakes looked very impressive but was quite disappointing. The savoury snacks were tasty but unfortunately the cake was very dry and tasteless. The waiters are super friendly and the tea selection is great!

Adorable cafe in the centre of Dordrecht. The service was quick and very friendly. Tried both the food and a piece of cake, all of which was absolutely delicious. Many vegan options available. Definitely recommend!

Spectaculair location and venue, from a bite and coffee with a friend to a gathering and party. The building is amazing, so inspiring and photogenic. The shop is crowded with everything I would bring home, for I. The kitchen to the bathroom, and they also have decor and unique books! High tea is execellent and I truly love their servies! Staff is absolutely kind and attent. Would recommend this place as a wedding location too as well as gathering for work.

The cafe is nestled in this beautiful old building . The young staffs are friendly, menu offers vegan food and Beetroot Latte looks so lovely (5.50 euro). WC is clean and smells amazing. There are some vintage shopping around. Overal pricey stuffs.

This is a beautiful, cozy and relaxing place, with an attentively team, where you can have a vegan experience with a delicious dishes. I had the happy salmon that is really taste. If you are passing by Dordrecht I extremely recommend this place.

Cozy ambience, friendly staff and mouth watering food!! Just got to love some of the incredible places we have to eat in Dordrecht. Location: (5/5) Centrally located. Love that is it just walking distance from the station as well as being right in the middle of the central area of the city. Great areas to walk around as well post a wonderful meal. Ambience: (5/5) Beautiful old school interiors. With the brick work being shown off makes for a beautiful textured wall. Love that the beams are visible. The chandeliers as well add a nice touch. The furniture is great and allows for comfortable seat for various group sizes. Food & Drink: (5/5) Outstanding flavours coupled with lovely presentation made for a delightful experience. The portion sizes were great and the entire dish was well balanced. The poke bowl was really well made with a nice freshness to it. The beef was cooked extremely well and the flavours absorbed well and made for a great combination with the fries. We also had some lovely tea since it was a little rainy outside. All in all a great experience on the food. Service: (5/5) Incredible set of staff here. All super friendly and did ensure that they dropped by a couple time to make sure everything was good. Love the service. After living in Amsterdam, this is something that I really miss. So great work to the team there and looking forward to the next visit. Summary: (5/5) The combination of the beautiful ambience, mouthwatering food and the fabulous service made this a memorable experience. Highly recommended.

Great food and service. I had the Indonesian slow cooked meat sandwich: it was amazing! For me it really wasn’t very spicy, but full of flavor and the portion size was generous. My kids were happy with the fries and bread with spreads. Coffee was incredible.

This place is wonderful. We enjoyed lunch at a table with an amazing view on the canal out back. The Hartige taart & the beef Rendang sandwich were so delicious & lovely portions for the nice prices. Service was quick & friendly. AND, the building & terrace are gorgeous. Fabulous, fabulous. Thanks to Lunchroom Helena for the great experience. Yet another reason to love Dordrecht.

Dinner takeaway for Nasi Rames for 15 eu per box. The chicken was dry, some green beans and 1 egg were but lacking of taste. I expected more flavour since food are homemade. I find it bit pricy for what I get. Second dinner: Kip Curry 17eu was so dry again. It has mango cubes and cashewnuts with long beans. Portion is too much. Nachos was alright. When it just opened, the menu was special and the food was full of flavours and cooked with passion (also cheaper). Both Indon & Persian cuisine were simply delicious. Now the taste of the food is gone. Asked for sambal, received a chili sos from bottle in which i expected a homemade sambal. Curry chicken more like Dutch style with chicken breast. Service was just nice.

Persian breakfast. Freshly baked flatbread, yogurt with walnuts and dates, eggs in a smoored sauce of tomato, onions and spices. Fresh breeze and great view of the water of the Wijnhaven.

We had lunch on the patio, looking out onto the beautiful walled garden of the Dordrecht museum. The food is nothing special from a culinary perspective, but good quality, tasty Dutch staples like croquettes and bread, beef carpaccio or an ‘uitsmijter’ (sunny side up eggs on bread). Service is not the fastest at peak hours.

I recently dined at this restaurant and had a wonderful experience. For the main course, we tried the prosciutto e funghi pizza and the salmon pizza. Both were delicious, with perfectly balanced flavors and fresh ingredients. For dessert, we enjoyed the fruit salad with ice cream and the Dame Blanche. Both desserts were excellent and provided a refreshing and sweet ending to our meal. The service was exceptional. Our waiter was particularly adorable and always smiling. His salmon was also not really tasty and for the price you would expect much more. My main dish was very nice and tasty that was the Vegaköfte. And the portion was large. The food was really nothing special and i would not complaint if it was cheaper. The service is also slow and if the customers left they didn’t clean the tables immediately. A historical gate which located by the Oude Maas river side, there are a couple of cafe/restaurants which offer a pretty view of the river. The waterbus station for boats head to Rotterdam and other nearby towns is just 3 minutes walking distance from the gate.

It is a beautiful building. Dordrecht is the oldest city in The Netherlands and it was a nice waterbus trip. We enjoyed walking in the city

Huis van Gijn brings you 100 years back in time and gives you a close look to the lavish life of van Gijs. The entrance is free for kids, and I have no idea how much the entrance is for adults, though I used my Rotterdampas for free entry 😁 I wouldn't recommend this place for kids under the age of five because there is nothing interactive for the little once. Main visitors were adults and elderly so running or overactive kids might annoy the visitors. There are interesting unique rooms inside, like the room with gold and leather wallpaper (the one and only in the Netherlands!) The only interactive thing is the opportunity to get dressed as the 1900s 😁 my 10 years old daughter loved it. In the basement, you can find a collection of toys and dolls and an adorable carousel. It doesn't belong to the house of Gijn, though.

There is an elevator to access the museums many levels. Rotterdampas is accepted for free entry (as are many other local museums).

Simon van Gijn was a banker and an avid collector of beautiful objects throughout his life. The collection is displayed in this absolutely unique museum, the original house where the couple used to live. Everyone will be amazed at the collection of art, furniture, carpet, cutlery and hundreds and thousands of other beautiful objects. Highly recommended and is certainly a must when you come and visit (or live in) Dordrecht

This is our second time to this restaurant. I can say that we had again an absolute delightful and exceptional experience here. Everything was perfect, dishes, atmosphere and the stuff. We had a 5 course menu. The fish dishes were outstanding. We had so many sorts of fish such as seabas, haring and halibut. We finished with a refreshing desert. The cozy ambiance and friendly staff added to the overall enjoyment. I highly recommend this place for delicious, well-prepared fish dishes.

As a person regularly goes to Michelin’s and fine dining restaurants, I can say - The Stroper is the best food I ate for last year. Extraordinarily mix of tastes. I want to leak every plate after every meal. Bravo!

A truly excellent fish and seafood restaurant, elegant and comfortable, with an outstanding and friendly staff. The daily menu is a great deal, the cured salmon appetizer, followed by a delicately pan-fried haddock, left nothing to be desired. The mussels in a saffron infused broth were splendid in their sweet plumpness and the bouillabaisse here puts most Marseille versions to shame. Finishing with an intense chocolate sorbet, with hazelnut cream and rare sea buckthorn compote made for a perfect finale. Excellent coffee. An exceptional dining experience.

Really great gourmet food. You won't regret if you like seafood. I was positively surprised (!) And prices are very reasonable for the type of food being served. If I have time, I'll certainly pass by again. The only thing that could be improved is the ambient temperature, which could be a bit warmer inside during winter time.

Almost by accident I ended up at this restaurant, to enjoy their lunch formula. The restaurant decor was elegant with proper spacing between tables. Staff was friendly, attentive yet discrete. The smoked fish was of excellent quality, the fish soup very well prepared and the “tuna roast beef” a surprising explosion of flavors. Good bread with - on theme - salted butter. I was here with my dad and my boyfriend. We ordered beers and three dishes. One of the best hamburgers I have ever tried from the NL. I took the crispy chicken sandwich. It's a great place if you're looking for culture of Dordrecht. It's a beautiful building from both the outside and the inside. There is also a monument which displays the names of the jews who died in world war II. My only complain is the stairs towards the entrance which has no railing or anything else to grab on to. Some people just need that.

Johan and Cornelis de Witt were 2 powerful brothers from the Dutch Golden age of the 17th century. Cornelis was the mayor of Dordrecht. Dordrecht was one of the most important cities that contained the Dutch fleet and Johan was the statesman of the Republic of Holland. Johan was a free market, libertarian who believed in small government and more power to local authorities and helping the merchant guilds. Unfortunately, Johan mismanaged a war and was disliked by the royal named Willem van Oranje. This led to the accusation of an attempted murder of the Willem that led to Johan's imprisonment in The Hague in the 'Gevangenpoort' and eventual death at buitenhof. Nice little museum about the Second World War and Dordrecht. . You can visit quickly but the collection is large enough to spend some time. Some more explanation sings would be nice but stil, a nice place to visit.

Small, but wonderful museum. A nice quiet atmosphere; very suitable for the subject covered. The exhibits were nicely displayed and very educational. The hosts were very pleasant and helpful.

Not huge but lots of artefacts, you can touch them too, not all behind glass. Run by volunteers, all very happy to help and provide information.

Very good, small museum of the invasion of Netherlands at Dordrecht in 1940, plus the occupation till 1945. Would be five stars if all their exhibits had English details as well as Dutch.

There are surely larger museums dedicated to World War 2 history; but this one can go artifacts-for-artifacts with the best of them. In a townhouse-sized facility you receive a detailed look at four thematics - Invasion. Occupation. Resistance. Liberation. This a superb insight into the courage and sacrifices endured by the Dutch people.

Food is delicious and very tasty! You get to experience fine cuisine at this place. The location is cozy and intimate, even though i missed the presence of a window. The service was very slow, in 3 hours we ate three (small) dishes. We were accomodated and didn't receive any menu card. When they come to ask what we wanted to drink, we let them notice that we didn't have any card. They brought the wine card but not the food card. So again, we had to ask for the food card (how can we chose a wine without knowing whatwe are going toeat?). It was not clear how big the portions were. We got three dishes to share and bread. Bread came first and had to wait too long to receive the other dishes. Meantime the witress came twice to check how the bread was.. The price is definetely too high considering the low quality of the service. Once home we had to eat again because we were still hungry after spending 50euro p.p.

Found this little hidden bistro, decorated well with nice ambiance. I had the lunch sampler, the 3 different open face sandwiches. The beef tartar was the best.. the other 2 toppings with salmon and egg salad wasn’t overly special. The bonbons to end my lunch was presented well and delicious. The price was fair and server was very attentive. Might drop by to enjoy the alfresco area in summer.

One of the few places in Dordrecht open on a Monday, very good croissant sandwiches, wines and cocktail lists. Friendly staff and niche speakeasy-like French interior with a garden!

I’ve been at this place 3 times now, every single time I’ve really enjoyed it. The cocktails are very interesting, some of them I’ve never seen before. I like how they make use of lesser known spirits like Armagnac for example. What I love most is that this restaurant is themed like a speakeasy, so it feels like a hidden place that you just have to know the right people for. Really cool. The lights are a bit dimmed inside and you really just end up focussing on just your own table and the people you’re with. It’s really cosy and intimate. Can’t wait to come again!

Great food and service!

This place has great pizza and the atmosphere inside is very nice. We got our order taken quite fast and did not wait a lot of time for the food. The staff is extremely helpful and nice. The cocktails were not so great tho. I had a gin & tonic and a whisky sour but they didn't taste very good, they were just fine. I totally recommend this place for a good pizza.

Neapolitan style pizza was delicious. Only the waiters weren’t really coming to us to take an order etc. We had to call them each time. This could be improved.

Had drinks and Panini. Went for their Pizzas but thats available after 5 PM (That's fine, we didn't know that 😉) Food arrived on time and the taste was good. But extremely unwelcoming waitress is there, the vibe felt kind of strange.

The waitress was mad and gave me attitude for no reason, while I was ordering and she stopped me: you don’t have to order dessert now. Like can you wait until I finished talking? Interrupting when someone is talking is not nice at all. Then she brought the plate and slammed the plate on the table, why? Food was ok

Came across this gem on a river cruise tour. Excellent cappuccino, a variety of sour dough beads and delicious Portuguese egg tarts. There were many other tasty treats I wish I had more time to try. There's a nice back room you can enjoy your favorites and take a short rest before venturing it to the rest of the town.

What a wonderful bakery, everything looked divine, it was hard to choose. The coffee made by the friendly barista was excellent! We were staying in the harbour, a 2 min walk, so perfect for sailors. It was busy, but they have an efficient system so the wait was not long. Highly recommended!

Nice little bakery cafe in the neighbourhood. Coffee and pastries were both nice. Pastries were not too sweet but also not bland. Clean toilet and spacious sitting area inside. Owners were lovely!

The open-faced sandwich with goat cheese and a cream spread was SO delicious. And the staff were so friendly. As a foreigner, I appreciated that they kept speaking Dutch with me despite my accent. ❤️ Thank you!

Last night was a huge disappointment .Our order was taken electronically at the same as the couple next to us. It took over an hour for our food to arrive by which time the other couple had finished their meal. We had enquired why the saté and burger were taking so long but even then nothing arrived for a while. The saté looked most unappetising, no bok choi as on the menu ,only a handful of beansprouts hidden under the meat which was 3 large chunks not even on a skewer.The dried up dark brown sauce covered the whole plate and looked awful. In fairness the chicken was tender and the chips good. We have been to Finn's every time we visit Dordrecht, and loved it. Not sure we will return.

The best little Cafe in all of South Holland. Friendly staff with a smile on their face and good food means I will keep this place in my thoughts every time I am in Dordrecht.

Love going here with a good book and just watch the world go by. The staff are so lovely and the food is amazing!! Today I had the tomato soup and prawn salad but honestly everything on the menu is delish. I always choose the brown bread.... lush!!

With restaurants only open for take-away (or delivery) we decided to try Finn’s. The personnel makes a difference from the moment they pick up the phone; friendly, chatty and warm... you wouldn’t know they were fighting for their existence. The menu is very accessible, which is easy if you have picky kid at home. The portions are sizable and the quality is good (carrying the food home in packaging does take the edge off a bit). We will definitely be back when they reopen!
