De Pier in Den Haag, also known as Scheveningen Pier, is a popular recreational spot with both enclosed and open-air decks. It offers a variety of casual restaurants and thrilling activities like bungee jumping. The pier provides an enjoyable experience for visitors, combining leisurely strolls with attractions and dining options. Situated on the Scheveningen boulevard, it serves as a charming location to relax while enjoying scenic views of the North Sea.
Great pier! It was extremely windy outside. Inside the pier you could hear the wind, but it was cozy and the ocean view is great. There are a lot of food options to choose from, clean facilities and nice atteactions like a ferries wheel, zip line and Bungee jumping (we only came for food). It's nice to be able to choose between the two decks.

Located at Scheveningen Pier is the Netherlands' first Ferris wheel, which hovers over the sea and offers spectacular views of the 11 km long beach and the skyline of The Hague. A ride on the Ferris wheel takes about 20 minutes. The enclosed cabins are air-conditioned. Tickets for the Ferris wheel can be purchased online.

⭐ De Pier – A must-visit by the sea! Absolutely loved my time at De Pier! 🌊 Beautiful views of the North Sea, cool ocean breeze, and a lively boardwalk full of food, drinks, and fun activities. Whether you’re looking to relax, take amazing photos, or just enjoy a nice walk over the water – this place is perfect. Bonus: there’s even a bungee jump and Ferris wheel for thrill-seekers! 🎡 Great spot to spend an afternoon – highly recommended!

I visited with my family and had a wonderful experience. There's convenient parking nearby and plenty of food options and activities to enjoy. My pictures attached truly don’t do justice to how beautiful and vibrant this place is. Despite the rainy and slightly overcast weather on the day of our visit, it still felt cool, refreshing, and thoroughly enjoyable. Highly recommended!
Eze E — Google review
De Pier is a beautiful place to walk and enjoy the sea view. The atmosphere is lively, and the ocean breeze makes it even more relaxing. A must-visit spot in The Hague!
Mariam — Google review
Amazing spot to visit. The pier itself has a massive selection of stuff to eat and do ranging from trampoline park to bungee jumping over the water. We rode the Ferris wheel and it was definitely worth the price - great views and nice long ride. Also the entire area around the pier is lively and vibrant with many vendors and people to see. This area is a must visit when in the area!
Scott O — Google review
Great area to wander around, enjoy some people-watching and refresh in the sea. The beach is (oder course) very crowded. All around De Pier are a lot of souvenir shops, restaurants, bars and ice cream shops, so no one has to leave thirsty or hungry. The Big Wheel is a highlight, enjoy watching it while having a drink in De Pier own bars inside (very warm!) or from the top of De Pier. Courageous people can also do the Bungee Jump or the zip line.
Dan F — Google review
Beautiful place to walk on / through or by when visiting the beach. > Great view from any place on the Pier with many areas to take a break and sit down. > Many stores and things to look at, to do or food to eat. > Horribly communicated opening and closing times / path ways, being the only downside. Oh and great to stay under if you need shelter from the sun!

The Pier SkyView, located at the end of the Scheveningen pier, offers breathtaking views of the ocean and coastline. This giant ferris wheel stands 50 meters above sea level and provides an unforgettable experience with its private gondolas for afternoon tea or a romantic SkyDinner. The sunset views from this vantage point are particularly stunning, making it a perfect spot for couples.
The day was very windy, but we felt safe. It was fun and we went around 5-6 times! It was a cold week day, so it was not crowded. Staff was friendly. Beautiful views of the sea and the coast line.

Great view and it feels like a little adventure - when you are up and surrounded by the sea. Ride is approx. for 13-14 minutes. Tickets can be bought on the spot, there is a queue but the wait is not long.

Fabulous bird view. Stunning as the sky was clear blue. Magical. Also. Have a stroll on the boulevard and treat yourself to a lovely dinner on the “strip”. Especially when the evening start and lights illuminate the beautiful beach.

We've done similar attractions that were nicer like the one in Montreal and The Eye in London. Felt more professional. This felt a bit like a carnival ride. Nice enough, love that the pods are air conditioned but they could use a cleaning. Othe people may enjoy this event more than we did. Wasn't awful, wast great. The surrounding area is also a bit jersey shore to me. Just not our thing.
Tam C — Google review
We visited The Pier SkyView and it was such a special experience. The views over the sea and beach were absolutely stunning, and the cozy cabins made the ride extra comfortable. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a memorable moment by the sea!

Opened in 2016, this is Europe’s first Ferris wheel built over the sea, rising about eight meters above the North Sea. With a height of around 45 meters, it offers sweeping views of the coastline and the city skyline. A ride lasts between 12 and 20 minutes, making it a perfect way to take in the scenery. Sunset is an especially romantic time to enjoy the experience.

Best beach and best view from De Pier. Never ever to miss out on this if you are in Den Haag. Best place to chill for music lovers

Shopping
The Palace Promenade is a large, open-air shopping mall located on the beach in Scheveningen. It has a wide variety of stores and restaurants, as well as a mini golf course and a tenpin bowling alley. The mall has a retro feel, and it's still popular with tourists in the area many years after it opened.
Foodhall is top. Fantastic cocktails made with fresh ingredients🍹

I picked up a pair of boots on sale and quickly realized—they’re the go-to shoes for every Dutch girl. Water-resistant, lined with cozy faux fur, and slip-resistant. The store even offered a dirt-resistant spray for just €1. The moment I put them on, I knew they were worth more than any so-called "weatherproof" walking shoes. Perfect for tackling the wet Dutch weather in both style and comfort.
Huang K — Google review
DO NOT EAT AT ANY OF THE RESTAURANTS IN THIS BUILDING! There are major pest problems here (mostly rats and mice, but also bugs) that are where the food is stored. Absolutely disgusting and the nvwa continues to mark all the restaurants as passing health inspection. Besides that the mall is old and many shops are empty. In my opinion the whole building should be renovated or perhaps even demolished.
Narc Z — Google review
The only wheelchair accessible toilet close to the beach is in this mall, we went there and the door opened for me to go to the toilet. Upon leaving, some dapper looking manlet followed me bc I "forgot to pay". There's no way for people in wheelchairs to pay, people pay at the ports which clearly has a sign on it stating it's not for wheelchair users. I just wanted to get out of there so I went alright fine, I'll pay. This grown man gets all up in my boyfriend's (21y/o) face and treats us like garbage in general, trying to intimidate us by deliberately taking steps into our personal space. My bf is not someone to do something like that to, so while I was struggling, bent over trying to pay over the ports that are too narrow for my wheelchair to fit through, my bf and this bloke are nose to nose making a scene. I genuinely hope someone his prehistoric age learns to respect someone that has different needs.

Stopped in to use the facilities after an exhausting time on the beach with Tich, disabled and dog accessible. We then stopped for a drink at Palace Brasserie, I had a coffee and they kindly brought Tich a bowl of water while I watched them dismantling the beach front bars through the windows. Thank you to the kind and friendly waitresses. I didn't see much else in the mall though it seemed to have some good modern shopping if that is your thing

Located on the boulevard of Scheveningen, near the Kurhaus and just a stone's throw away from Circustheater, Grand Cafe - Restaurant Westewind offers a delightful dining experience with a view of the beautiful sea. The restaurant provides an opportunity to bask in the sun on its terrace during summer while enjoying delicious food and drinks. Originally built as a circus venue in 1904, Circustheater has evolved into one of the most renowned theaters in the Netherlands.
The relaxed performance (or prikkelarm in Dutch) was very well organised. I was very pleased that a special event like was organised. The client I was with was totally enthralled by the whole performance. The actors were really great too not letting themselves be distracted by anything happening in the audience. The audience were given some regulations to stick to and this worked generally really well. The ushers were super patient and friendly with everything getting all kinds of things sorted and making sure everything went as smoothly as possible. Kudos and kudos to everyone that made this happen. Also special kudos to those organising the make a wish foundation! Thank you

We went here to watch the musical Disney frozen. The environment is very good and the staff is also very kind. There is delicious high tea and coffee during the intermission. The most important thing is that the stage play is very shocking and memorable. It is very close to the beach, and you can go to the beach after watching it. However, the parking fee is too expensive.
J C — Google review
Visited many times already enjoying beautiful musicals and hopefully will enjoy many more. Travel by car is absolutely possible however if you can use the public transport it gives you a lot more ease due to parking spots availability. Friendly staff and well looked after theater. Close to the beach, boulevard and a nice shopping area including a wide choice of restaurants that will give you some lovely options to spend your day.

The incredible energy of the dancers, these sensations and emotions, especially coming from the male dancers, cannot be described in words. And this is something you will remember for a long time. Search and enjoy the emotions.
Ks T — Google review
The play is 4/5 I guess it could use some improvements. Staff very organized. Entry and exit procedures very neat and smooth. However, i am rating the theater as a facility. The seats are too bad, condition were ok. But type and style i guess belongs to the 80’s. No much space, for someone to slide in a whole row shall stand to let a person pass. Such efforts made by actors should be rewarded with an up to date theater.
F. M — Google review
We saw The Lion King on Broadway at this theatre over the weekend. The production was absolutely amazing. High quality sound with live orchestra and singing. The seats are typically theatre seats, no drink holders. The staff are Professional and friendly. Book your show as far in advance as possible to select your seating preference.
Steven G — Google review
On the second day of Christmas, we went to the musical Aïda. What was the cast GOOD and extremely talented. With each song, I got goosebumps! Circustheather itself was very nicely decorated for Christmas. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They also have an arrangement with a few parking garages in the surrounding area. For a fixed price, you can park the car there up till 8 hours after driving in. Which is perfect for lunch before a show or dinner after a show. The seats were comfortable, and the temperature inside was nice. However, during the break, you have only 15 minutes to go to the toilet and grab something to drink/eat. The lines were long, and not everybody who wanted something got the chance because the break flies by so quickly. In other venues, they have an arrangement where drinks are already on a table for everyone to take one, perhaps they do this on purpose so you will buy their own break arrangement..

Restaurant ChouChou, located in the newly renovated section of the Scheveningen boulevard, is a vibrant and eye-catching spot with its colorful decor and eclectic mix of furnishings. While some may find it a bit flashy, others appreciate the lively atmosphere that comes with dining in this part of the boulevard. The restaurant's interior features an attention-grabbing floor, colorful lamps, gold accents, and chairs adorned with Ginkgo leaves - creating plenty of Instagrammable corners.
Overall I really enjoyed the experience here! I have only been to one other all you can eat restaurant in the Netherlands so I don't have much to compare it to, but this was a very pleasant and unique experience for me. The menu had all of my favorite things so I personally loved it, but my friend who is currently pregnant couldn't find much to eat that she liked since she couldn't eat raw meat or shellfish. I personally loved the escargot, carpaccio, oysters, the fries (that were perfectly cooked by the way), duck and cheesecake. Overall it was a great experience and I'll definitely be back.

Food was DELICIOUS. Friendly and very fast service, the waiters always came to check on us and talk to us which was nice! would definitely recommend ChouChou to anyone that likes an upscale all-you-can-eat
Osheana A — Google review
I had a great experience at this restaurant. First of all, the people working here are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We felt very welcomed. The concept of the restaurant is like a buffet. You pick dishes every 15 minutes, for as long as you want to. You can also add some to drink, but as an extra cost. The food was really good and we tried lots of different dishes. I would recommend this restaurant if you’re a fan of the Asian cuisine.

If I could, I would give ten ⭐️. The food was very delicious. The waitress kind and very fast. The music ist not too loud. I'm very very happy 🥰

Shared dining on steroids! Honestly this place is excellent. Staff is all very friendly and there is enough staff available! The places looks amazing and the back ground music is just perfect, not to loud but still a pretty amazing beat. Food wise the menu offers enough variety and every dish looks great. The speed the food was served was very good. Some nice options in the cocktail menu although the selection could be bigger and better. Food value was excellent, drinks value not at all.
Niels D — Google review
Interesting and enjoyable dining experience. Big selection of foods. Beautiful decoration and atmosphere of the venue. Definitely a must try, at least once in your life 😄. Best enjoyed with group of 4 people, because you are limited to order 1 menu every 15 minutes, and I found 4 people is the perfect number to get the most variety in shortest time. Flavour is definitely on the upper level. Meats are tenderly cooked and well seasoned. Sea foods are all fresh. My highlight for the foods are oyster, lamb chop, ebi fry, and chouchou sushi.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Chou Chou restaurant in Scheveningen, and it was an exceptional experience! Here's why I give this restaurant a glowing 5-star review: 1. Best Sushi in a Long Time: The sushi served at Chou Chou was hands down the best I've had in a long time. The fish was incredibly fresh, the rice was perfectly seasoned, and each roll was bursting with flavor. It's clear that the chefs take great pride in creating high-quality sushi. 2. Wide Variety of Cuisines: One of the standout features of Chou Chou is the vast array of different cuisines they offer. From Japanese to Chinese, Thai to Korean, and beyond, there's something to satisfy every palate. It's a food lover's paradise! 3. Good Quality: The overall quality of the dishes was impressive. Each item on the menu seemed carefully prepared with attention to detail, and the flavors were consistently excellent. 4. Perfect Service: The staff at Chou Chou provided top-notch service throughout our visit. They were attentive, friendly, and always ready to assist with any request. It made the dining experience even more enjoyable. 5. Ordering via Tablet: The tablet-based ordering system was a unique and convenient feature. It allowed us to browse the menu at our own pace and place our orders directly, avoiding any wait times. 6. Excellent Price/Value Ratio: Considering the wide selection of dishes available, the quality of the food, and the impeccable service, the price was incredibly reasonable. It's a fantastic value for the dining experience offered. 7. Round-based Ordering: The concept of ordering in rounds, with a new one available every 15 minutes, added an element of fun and allowed us to try a variety of dishes without feeling rushed. 8. One Dish per Person, Unlimited Sides: I loved the concept of ordering one main dish per person and then being able to choose as many side dishes as we wanted. It allowed for a customized and satisfying meal. 9. Price of €44.90 per Person: Given the quantity and quality of the food, the fixed price of €44.90 per person was more than reasonable. 10. Will Be Back Next Time: Without a doubt, I will be returning to Chou Chou on my next visit to Scheveningen. The overall experience was exceptional, and I can't wait to explore more of their delightful menu. In summary, Chou Chou is a gem of a restaurant with outstanding sushi, a diverse selection of cuisines, excellent quality, and impeccable service. The combination of delicious food, tablet-based ordering, and a great price makes it a must-visit dining destination. I highly recommend it!

Sumo is a popular sushi and grill restaurant with locations in Den Haag and Scheveningen, the Netherlands. It offers an all-you-can-eat concept for lunch, allowing diners to enjoy a wide variety of dishes in smaller portions. The restaurant has received around 1,600 reviews with an impressive average score of 4.2/5. Visitors praise the diverse menu, inviting ambiance, and good service.
Overall pretty good. You get 8 rounds of 30 small portions to eat. There’s lots of different stuff like sushi, skewers, veggies, and drinks. Do be aware of the fact that whatever you leave back will be added to the final bill.

Delicious Japanese food. Of course we had the “all you can eat” offer, which did not only include sushi but also a wide selection of Japanese dishes like chicken teriyaki or (small) bowls. The staff was very polite but a bit formal.
Sebastian S — Google review
We had a wonderful dinner here last night! The sushi was fresh and delicious, and the service was truly excellent. Our main waiter, Aloysius (apologies if I’ve misspelled your name!), was incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive — he made the whole experience even better. At one point, there was an issue with one of our orders, but both Aloysius and the restaurant staff handled it promptly and graciously, going out of their way to make it right. We left feeling very well taken care of and will definitely be coming back.

Sumo has great food, great ambiance. We went a week so after the busy season, so no huge crowds lining up but was still busy. Got the teriyaki beef and rice and it did not disappoint.
Jaime N — Google review
I love sumo, the price did increase but not so much, its around 41 euros for all you can eat and 46 for the premium version ! I go here almost every year its very nice, its a bit dark inside and the tables are quiet close to eachother but thats about it. The food comes fast and warm (or cold depends on what you got) and its perfect. The only downsides with food is that the drinks cost almost 4 euros, and there isnt much dessert options.

We had a nice lunch experience at Sumo. We ordered chicken and beef teriyaki, grilled duck, miso aubergine, and sweet fried potatoes, and I must say, all the dishes were absolutely delicious. The service was top-notch, both attentive and speedy. Considering the portion size the prices were reasonable. The restaurant's location is another plus,Being able to enjoy a stroll on the beach after our meal added a delightful touch to the day.

I reserved a table online and we got it as soon as we arrived (with a baby chair! Fantastic!). The food came very quickly, so did the drinks. Our toddler was well entertained with all the small dishes that kept coming and she enjoyed them as well as we did! Overall a very good experience.

Brazilian restaurant
If you're in Scheveningen and looking for a culinary adventure, make sure to visit Rodizio Brazilian Grill. This vibrant restaurant offers an authentic taste of Brazil with its unique dining experience centered around succulent meats served in traditional style. Guests can indulge in a variety of expertly prepared dishes, including tender roast beef that melts in your mouth. The attentive service ensures that your plate is never empty, as servers come around frequently to offer different cuts of meat alongside delightful side options.
We went there with a family to celebrate my husband birthday. It was nice experience. More interesting than just a regular dinner in the restaurant. Those who are a big fans of meat and especially beef - you will like it. They bring different meat every time again and again. Also there is a salad bar where you can choose as many salads as you want. Oh and try grilled pine apple. It’s so delicious. I really recommend this place. All our family was very happy.
Daryna H — Google review
Recently visited very poor service. No where near the experience I’ve had at other Brazilian Steakhouses. Card was turned on green and there were only about 5 workers serving food for the whole restaurant. Our table kept getting passed over, so we decided to leave. Really disappointing because this experience isn’t cheap. Also the he restaurant has squeezed so many tables in, that every-time someone passed by us to get to the buffet they bumped into us.Very disappointed. The picture is the small walk way for the whole restaurant.
MooreAdventures _ — Google review
Very good meat, it’s quite pricy for my liking but still very good. I especially liked some red juicy tender beef here it’s a shame that the waiters stopped coming over to serve us after a while even though the deal was they’d keep serving us for 2 hours. Either way great experience. PS why do they serve dessert at the start, it got cold before I could taste it.
Maciek P — Google review
Expensive for what you get. The buffet is all you can get but the meat only occasionally came round and then it was mainly cheaper items like sausage. The beef we got was dry tough strips overcooked. We saw some nicer stuff going to other tables but we were passed by multiple times as they ran out. No one came to ask if we would like more drinks and staff weren’t up for making eye contact to flag them over. All in we paid mainly for an expensive all you can eat buffet with a few bits of cold tough meat on the side
Ben J — Google review
The atmosphere is still very good, but the service in the past was much better! It was a real rodízio, like in Brazil. The taste of the food is still good, but the variety in the buffet is poor. The feijoada’s pan was very small, no slices of orange, no couve, no torresmos! We needed to ask for the meat all the time. Disappointing…

The place is well located and has really lovely ambiance, including live music and hourly Brazilian dance performances. However, a warning to vegetarians: there are essentially no options for people who don’t eat meat, except the all-you-can-eat salad bar, which is poor value for money in my opinion. I decided last minute to join some family members for dinner here but wasn’t really able to order anything except drinks. Also, service was a little bit slow and inattentive, but to be fair it was quite busy!

Encore by Simonis is a renowned restaurant located in the Scheveningen port, offering stunning views of the marina and top-notch interior design. The menu features a diverse selection of international dishes with a hint of Asian influence, including fresh sushi, sashimi, and tempura.
Encore by Simonis continues to impress me with its exceptional food and outstanding service. During every visit to The Hague, it’s my go-to spot, and the dishes never fail to amaze. The tiger prawns, tuna tacos, and black cod are absolute must-tries—each bite a testament to the restaurant’s culinary excellence. What truly elevates Encore beyond just a great dining experience is its team. The service is professional, flexible, and genuinely welcoming, creating an atmosphere where every guest feels valued. A standout example of this was a few months ago when I arranged a reservation for my parents all the way from Saudi Arabia. Rogelio Siem made the entire process effortless, handling everything with efficiency and care. What really struck me was his extraordinary gesture of trust and understanding. To help me pull off a surprise for my parents, Rogelio allowed me a few days to settle the bill after the reservation, trusting me to pay later. This kind of personal touch, combined with their trust and flexibility, exemplifies the level of hospitality that Encore by Simonis delivers. Encore isn’t just a restaurant; it’s an experience where the food, ambiance, and service come together perfectly. I can’t recommend it enough and will always look forward to returning.

We had a fantastic dinner here with the three of us. The food was absolutely delicious. While ordering five starters, the friendly staff kindly advised us not to overorder and mentioned we could always add more later. They were right, the portions were just perfect. The menu is exciting and full of interesting options. The Bazuka Shrimp is a must-try! I had high hopes for the Coconut Shrimp, which was just okay, but the Blue Fin Tuna with caviar really stood out. I loved it. We had some great laughs with the staff, who turned out to be quite the joker. The atmosphere is stylish and cozy, with dim lighting that’s great for couples, perhaps a bit less ideal for families, in my opinion. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more dishes from the menu!

The food itself and our server was good. Under different circumstances I would have been glad to return. However, I have never in my life been received with such disdain by a hostess. Her and the « manager » walked around with such attitude & arrogance that it soured the entire experience. Good cuisine cannot make up for such lack of basic hospitality.

Our waitress was very attentive and sweet. The food was so good! Large portions and well-flavored. Out of everything we ordered, the salmon torch sushi we could’ve left out, but the COCKTAILS highly recommend💕

The place looks great and I love the tinted glass in front of the open kitchen; gives it a nice fancy touch. Next to the nice ambience and friendly staff we were happily surprised by the chef’s lobster menu who really went above and beyond to create high quality and fun dishes (and looking Instagram worthy). It’s a tad pricey but to get fresh seafood I’d say it’s worth it.

Love this restaurant for a night out! Food is great, chocolate explosion as a dessert is a true recommendation. We loved the sushi and its quality. Well priced on a Monday Eve! Just a bit different if you compare it to an average restaurant. Plus sitting outside with good weather give you a very pleasant view on the harbour!

Madurodam is an interactive park featuring miniature models of Dutch buildings, landmarks, and daily life. The park showcases famous attractions such as the Binnenhof/Parliament, Peace Palace, and Noordeinde Palace in a 1:25 scale setting. Visitors can explore replicas of windmills, markets, museums, and even witness a harbor fire being extinguished. With pathways and tram tracks creating a sprawling village atmosphere, Madurodam offers an immersive experience for all ages.
Whatta love place to have meal after a fantastic exploration of the Holland miniature park! I highly recommend this tourist spot in the Netherland, The gardens are beautiful well maintained and well worth it a must to see. Brilliant place I was enjoying every single moment there. Toilets are clean. Staffs are lovely and friendly.

We recently visited Madurodam in The Hague, and our entire family had a fantastic time! It was perfect outing for both the adults and kids. This park is more than just miniature models; it's a interactive and educational experience. Our child loved being able to push buttons, make things move, and participate in the various activities throughout the park. It was a brilliant way to see the Netherlands' history and landmarks come to life in a way that engages younger visitors. For the adults, we appreciated the clever use of technology to make the exhibits feel dynamic. It offers a wonderful, bite-sized overview of the country's highlights. If you're looking for an outing that keeps everyone entertained and teaches them something new, Madurodam is a must-see.

I absolutely loved this place. The simulations were so amazing. I lo ed the historic stories told and the entire set up, is genius. A great place for kids but for adults alike. Its so interesting and there is so much to see, time will pass by and you would have spent almost an entire day. The best time to go is from when they open at 10.

It's a fun place to see the highly detailed miniature Dutch, Amsterdam - cityscapes, buildings, architecture, churches, airports, wind farms, wind mills, Canal systems, functional railway track and different trains running around, traffic vehicles moving on the road, ships, boats moving in the water... It was a fun time.. different big bridges recreated where it feels like a small overpass that you walk on, it's a fun get away
Gautham V — Google review
Great experience for adults and kids. Plenty of interactive setups to keep the kids engaged and interested, while admiring the great miniature cities. There are also other experiences scattered within the park. Good - clean - interactive and engaging activities - park for kids and adults - impressive miniature landmarks - facilities (toilets, restaurants, playgrounds)

What if a country makes a fascinating structure where the net proceeds 1st were meant for TB hospital and then later, started going towards the various Charities of the Netherlands? An awesome thrill to know indeed, that such a place does exist, leading humanity to it, where their presence collectively and perpetually, helps such charities out. Madurodam, named after George Maduro, a law student from Curacao, who was awarded 'Medal of Knight', (highest medal of Netherlands) for his tremendous valour in fighting Nazi occupation forces and who died later at Dachau concentration camp in 1945. . Madurodam, was opened for public during 1952. It is a miniature park of the 'Hague', Netherlands consisting of 1:25 scale model replicas and miniature versions of famous Dutch landmarks, cities etc. It includes indoor attractions that tell Dutch histories, art & culture, themed areas, some restaurants, and a few stores to get what-you-want including fridge magnets, bottles and smiling back items, getting ready to get picked up. Travelling to Netherlands? Ensure then, that this is added on to your MUST-VISIT place.
Neeru D — Google review
Madurodam was my favorite experience during my entire trip to the Netherlands. I loved exploring the miniature versions of Dutch cities and landmarks. It felt like traveling through the whole country in just a few hours. My favorite parts were steering the ships through the canals, controlling the helicopter, and interacting with the fun exhibits like attracting the fishes. The park is very well designed, with so many details that bring Dutch history, architecture, and culture to life. It’s both educational and entertaining, making it a great place for families, couples, or solo travelers. I would recommend it as one of the first stops for tourists visiting the Netherlands. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Parking was a little pricey, but that might just be my perspective as a visitor from abroad. Overall, I would definitely like to return and see it again.

There is also a shall canteen to have some light snacks and a souvenir shop is also there to bring some gifts. Overall a wonderful experience, but remember you must spare enough time to go there because it needs almost half day to complete it properly if you are a detail lover.

Movie theater
Pathé Scheveningen is a popular cinema with comfortable and adjustable seats, although some visitors experienced vibrating seats during the movie. The venue offers clean toilets and convenient escalators. Visitors appreciate the cleanliness of the facilities and the friendly staff. Additionally, there are parking options available nearby. Overall, it's a great place to enjoy a film in English with good legroom and steep angles for an unobstructed view.
This film palace is an amazing location next of the beach of The Hague. Inside the atmosphere is awesome. Everywhere clean and ordered. When you step in the cinema the first what you meet a pretty rich cinema buffet. This buffet full with everything what is nice, popcorn of course, candies, beverages, so on so on. More level full cinema halls. The staff friendly and kind. If I can I want to come every week.

We went to the 4DX experience. It was with how to train your dragon. It has been very nice, very realistic, but in a couple of time, very exaggerated. But the experience is very very nice.

Great cinema we where in room4 must been done up recently. Great legroom and good steep angles so no one in front of you is in the way. Staff also vary friendly. Parking offer looks great will try that next time.
Antonie S — Google review
Great cinema. The ‘relax seats’ are extremely comfortable. You can manually change the settings. The only downside was that during the movie the lower part of the seats were vibrating at the beginning of the movie and during.. The toilets are clean. They’ve got escalators going up only. We visited the cinema on a Monday evening and it wasn’t crowded at all (as expected and as preferred). Parking ticket here costs €4,50 for 4 hours (only location Zwolsestraat). Otherwise we would’ve had to pay 10,50 (for 3 hours of parking). 7-10 min walk from the cinema.

My first ever 4Dx experience . Was worth the money. Please make sure to get the glasses for 3D/ 4D movies from the ground floor counters. You can also get a parking ticket for 4 hours for just 4.50 euros if you park at the correct place
Afees . — Google review
Great movie theater that offers movies in 2D, 3D Dolby Cinema and 4Dx for your viewing pleasure. Mostly shows new releases. Comfortable lounge areas outside of the different viewing halls. Restrooms are clean, although not located on every floor. Discounted parking tickets are available for purchase and costs 4.50 euros for four hours. The theater is also situated across of a tram stop, making it easy to travel by public transportation to Pathe.
Kristiene M — Google review
Good cinema clean and good audience. I went to a film in English. There are clean free toilets on the ground floor also on the third floor. In the afternoon there may be no one checking at the bottom of the steps so you can nip to the 3rd floor. Alternatively Mac next door but you have to pay 1 euro.

Nestled in The Hague, the Omniversum is a unique IMAX Dome Theatre that promises an extraordinary cinematic adventure. With its massive curved screen that envelops viewers, this theater offers an immersive experience like no other, showcasing stunning nature films and captivating documentaries. The sound quality enhances the realism, making you feel as if you're truly part of the scenes unfolding before you. It's a perfect outing for families and nature enthusiasts alike!
Fun and interactive museum + theatre! Kids will find it fun, as a young adult myself i enjoyed it. The theatre is showing imax film on curved screen (as i uploaded) and the museum changes it sub-themes every couple months: but the main theme remains the same - earth, people, and sustainable feature. Worth the money i’d say

Went to see a really nice movie about fungi and forests. While still impressive, the projection technology seems to be showing its age with rather blurry picture quality and low brightness compared to current day cinema tech. Your eyes do adjust to it if you're used to IMAX theaters. On a 28C day the viewing hall was surprisingly hot with no AC in the hall itself. Luckily we had some hand fans which made it a lot more bearable. The cinema store was cute and the staff while inexperienced were very polite. Had a nice experience, but for 17 euro admission I'd only come back if they improved their tech.

Impressive Experience at Omniversum Den Haag! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Omniversum Den Haag is a must-visit! The dome-style theatre offers a unique and immersive movie-watching experience you won’t find anywhere else. We watched OCEAN, narrated by David Attenborough — a stunning and powerful film. While we had hoped it would fill the entire dome ceiling, it was still an incredible visual journey. The sound and screen quality are top-notch, and the atmosphere really draws you in. Highly recommend for families, tourists, and anyone looking for something special in The Hague!
Edward E — Google review
An unique experience. I didn't realize the dome where you view the movies is in the back of the complex and you have to walk around the entire museum to get to it(see photo). I saw the "Celebration of Pink Floyd’s legendary album Dark side of the Moon." I was expecting a music video or video set to The Dark side of the Moon. However, this was something completely different. This was more like a few artists' take on the album. The songs were remixed and set to very trippy visuals, that is really the only way to describe it. It almost felt like someone had left on the visualizer from an old Microsoft media player at times.
Ashlee C — Google review
This place is amazing!! I didn't expect it to be this cool. We took a 10am session to see the turtle odyssey and it was beautiful. Smartly only 47 min because my toddler was already at his end. Then I went to the museum because the ticket came together. And oh boy I didn't expect so many interactive and fun things to do! So worth the 17 euros! Other places charge you so much and offer so little. Just some tips: food could have more options and healthier ones. Also some interactive things were not well explained. The session with "men evolution " could have a warning sign. It's quite frightening for a small kid. Other than that had a great time and didn't want to leave!
Julie C — Google review
It was really amazing! The film was just out of this world! We watched animal kingdom and it was really amazing. There's a lot of activities in the museum for the kids and for the adults to enjoy with their kids. Definitely recommend going!
Danine W — Google review
The exhibition is great! The idea of illustrating "sustainable development" is wonderful! But it's not technically well thought out. Young and older children study the questions, but soon they get tired of "thinking through" them and just run around the room, punching holes in a card slot machine without really understanding the topic. It's a bit sad.... Also we enjoyed the film in the cinema! And the museum is connected to the art gallery by a simple glass corridor! So you can simply walk there without going outside, but you'll need to buy other tickets, of course!
Irina S — Google review
We tried Mesmerica in 3D dome. It was music and some 3D shapes. Requested to be there 45min earlier but didn't have any point as we needed to wait on the stairs till they open the door. In general was good to try but by looking at the ticket price didn't have much content.

Panorama Mesdag is an art museum showcasing the impressive panoramic beach painting by 19th-century artist Hendrik Mesdag. The circular painting offers a naturalistic depiction of the beach at Scheveningen as it appeared in 1881, skillfully capturing lighting and perspective. Visitors can appreciate the work from a central viewing platform. Additionally, nearby at the Mesdag Collection, more of Mesdag's land- and seascapes are on display, providing further insight into his artistic prowess.
It's a surreal experience to see a life-like panoramic painting from the view point (hut) supposedly on a sanddune in a beach overlooking beach and sea on one side and old Den Haag city on the other side. From the viewpoint, the cealing of the painting is not visible at the top and the bottom of the painting smoothly transitions and merges into the beach sanddune setting around the viewing spot... So we don't see where the painting actually stops and the actual sand begins... unless we squint. And the natural lighting makes it all the more realistic, and the painting is at optimal distance that we barely feel any parallax, at the same time we don't see any brush strokes, making it very much real.
Gautham V — Google review
The 360 painting mixed with real objects give you such a surreal experience. Spend your time to take a look at the painting. The details on the painting is amazing. We are looking it wasn't busy so we get to really see the whole thing. Personally I do think its worth the 16 just to see this painting. Don't forget there are also other exhibition on ground floor. The place is not big though.

Panorama Mesdag is the largest painting in the Netherlands. The museum's collection includes the works of Mr. and Mrs. Mesdag, both painters. One hall is allocated to temporary exhibitions. The panorama is beautiful and realistic, you feel like you actually live in the 19th century. Definitely recommended.

This was understated brilliance! There are 3 rooms of paintings by Mesdag and his wife, very good introduction to the artist. Then you head through the dark passage and up the spiral staircase and you gasp at the amazing panorama. It takes you back in time as if you are there. Extraordinary! 🤯

La Galleria Kurhausplein is a delightful spot for those who love to shop and dine in Scheveningen. Nestled near the beach, this vibrant area offers an array of shopping options alongside the serene Hofvijverpark nature reserve for those seeking a breath of fresh air. When planning your visit, be prepared for unpredictable weather—bringing an umbrella and dressing in layers is wise!

I’m a frequent visitor to this area and i had very bad experience yesterday with La Galleria Kurhaus restaurant Manager or the person in charge who was treating the customer very badly and rude it start from the arrival I was waiting for anybody to escort me to any table to fit my family no body show up except this gentleman when he saw me standing he started raising up his voice with urgency I just walk out immediately to the opposite restaurant Luna , he is very lucky that still he has customers around his restaurant with this type of attitude and behavior he has to learn what customer value means and what customer voice can make in his business. I will not step in that restaurant again and it’s not recommended at all if you are looking for good services or customer respect .

The pizza's and pasta's we ordered were good. The seafood pizza we ordered was in the middle a bit too wet (I have noticed this before in Dutch pizzeria's) making the pizza bottom a bit too soggy in the middle. But all in all the taste was good. What I didn't like was the attitude of one of the waitresses. After we were seated in a corner location we didn't see anybody for 20 minutes while people near us who came later were served already. After trying to attract attention of several waitresses I went to approach the waitresses and asked if one could come to the table. One responded rather bitchy and said they knew exactly the status of each table. This came across as rather rude and spoilt a bit of a further pleasant evening. Don't forget who the customer is. Other waitresses were by the way very friendly and correct.

We were here on a Friday evening, with good weather. It was very crowded and unfortunately, the service was understaffed for the number of guests. I had the margarita pizza for 2, and my girlfriend had the tagliatelle with cream sauce, salmon, and herbs. My pizza was really, really good! However, my girlfriend's pasta had a tomato sauce and quite a few tomatoes, which wasn't very tasty. The service was very nice! We were at the other restaurant on the boulevard the day before, and it was cozier there. Despite everything, the staff was very friendly.

The staff was very welcoming and the atmosphere was great :) If I had to choose something to complain about, it's that it's not always clear how big the meal is. My pasta (frutti de mare) was a huge serving, while my friend's lasagna was pretty small. The food was enjoyable though, so there's not much to complain

Angie's Kitchen is a cozy restaurant located in a historic building on the well-known shopping street, Het Noordeinde, in Den Haag. The ambiance is inviting with snug tables, comfortable seating, and attentive staff catering to gluten-free preferences. While some patrons wish for more vegetarian options, the mushroom risotto and sweet potato fries come highly recommended. Visitors praise the delicious burgers, appetizers, and extensive beer selection.
We are on a bike tour in Amsterdam and Belgium. While we were here in the Hague, we had some free time to have dinner together just my husband and I. We didn't know the area we walked down the street and found Angie's kitchen. Boy, were we fortunate😊 My husband had the Dutch Mule and Angie's burger and fries and I had a vodka raspberry and truffle burger with a salad. Everything was so delicious. We also had the Affogato and cappuccino. Both were great! My high compliments to Angie, the chef! Our server, Paris, was friendly, engaging, and delightful. She checked on is to ensure we were take care of. When we were leaving, she asked us if we would want to see the garden and it was beautiful. It's a lovely patio for big or small parties. The atmosphere music was really great and the service was perfect. This is a must visit restaurant!!

we have to admit, we both were very excited after we have checked the menu and entered the restaurant. the staff was friendly and helped us choosing our drinks. as a sort of appetizer we shared a garlic cheese bread which did blow us away a bit. it was really tasty, and we enjoyed it very much. we could've eaten 10 more. sadly we cannot say that about our main courses, both the black angus steak and the pasta burrata were bland and mediocre at best.

We had Hamburgers Angie”s and Gorgonzola. Either tasted very badly. The taste of met was full of some spices that reminded me on those cheap Dutch AH s sausages. We were expecting some real beef taste but it was so bad that take over all taste of Gorgonzola and other ingredients. The chips were good tasty but very small peaces like left overs. This is very poor food place but the service vas very good. The lady was very kind and deserves 5 stars . I would not recommend this place for food.

Restaurant
Restaurant Elea, which recently relocated from Rijkswijk to Den Haag, is renowned for its innovative French cuisine with subtle Greek influences. Chef Takis Panagakis infuses his Greek heritage into the menu, offering dishes like langoustine with Greek suneli spices and a sweet variation of tzatziki for dessert. The restaurant's name "Elea," meaning olive in ancient Greece, reflects its commitment to renewal, freedom, and challenge.
Had a wonderful evening at Elea! Upon entering, you find yourself in a spaciously designed restaurant with plenty of room between tables, which we really appreciated. The interior is clean and tasteful, though for my personal taste just a touch too sterile, a hint of personality could add even more warmth and ambiance to the experience. The service was excellent. I felt like they had a close eye on everything. One of the staff members noticed I had given my girlfriend a gift during dinner, and later in the evening they surprised us with a small birthday dessert, such a thoughtful and attentive touch. The enthusiastic staff helped us feel very welcome. They were also careful to consider allergies and dietary preferences, which was great! And now, the highlight: the food! We had a 7-course menu that truly impressed us. We started with three amuse-bouches and delicious bread served with a special dip and butter. This was followed by Greek inspired dishes, with the yellowtail and scallops standing out as highlights, followed by a perfectly cooked duck with a rich, flavorful jus. Every wine paired with the dishes was spot on. The dessert was a personal favorite, every flavor harmonized beautifully, which was surprising given that it included an ingredient like carrot. I’d honestly come back just for that! Would definitely return and have already recommended it to a friend. A solid 10 out of 10!

Wow, what an experience! Sure, it’s right in the heart of the city, so parking can be a bit of a puzzle. But the moment you step inside, you’re transported into a peaceful oasis. The space is airy, modern, and spotless — exactly what you’d expect from a top-tier dining place. And then there’s the food… absolutely stunning! Each dish looked like it came straight from a Michelin-starred kitchen, infused with bold Greek flavors and creative twists. Familiar tastes, reimagined in ways that surprise and delight. Every course was a new discovery — a true feast for the senses. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates refined cuisine with a Mediterranean soul.

Greek fine dining at its best. The combination of flavors was exceptional, and the Greek wine selection perfectly complemented the dishes. The warm atmosphere, paired with a well-organized and friendly service team, along with a smooth-running kitchen, made for a truly peaceful dining experience. I highly recommend Ellea to anyone looking to enjoy Greek cuisine with a modern twist! P.S. My girlfriend had the vegetarian menu, and it was also incredibly flavorful and satisfying.

Went for a 6-course vegetarian. Crikey that was good. It was a special occasion and it fitted the bill really well. If this wasn't the best meal we've ever had I can't recall a better one. Lots of culinary surprises and beautifully presented. Huge wine list, no pretentions. Unreservedly recommended.

A real treat a gastronomic evening by excellence The mostly vegetarian dishes were highlighted by the saveur The attentive friendly service with a smile The wine pairing with some excellent Greek wines We enjoyed all of it and will be back…

Absolutely amazing experience with the most divine fine dining cuisine I have had in a long time. Love the open kitchen so you get a glimpse of the chef working and each dish was beautiful to look at and the flavors were well balanced and incredible. We did the 3 course lunch menu and the lobster with white asparagus was out of this world divine! Really love the Greek elements brought in a modern touch that brings out of the flavors. Highly recommended for that special occasion 🥰

We took a 7 course menu and all dishes were such a surprise. I never tasted these kinds of combinations. Food is really high end and cost as well, so be prepared to spend some money, but if you are here for a special occasion, then it is definitely worth it. Staff is very friendly and smoothly cleans and switches cutlery between courses. Though, my only critique would be that the G&T didn’t have any condiments…

Welcome to Vigo Seafoodbar, a delightful culinary gem inspired by the vibrant fishing culture of the Spanish port city of Vigo. Nestled in Den Haag's Aert van der Goesstraat, this seafood haven captures the essence of both its namesake and Scheveningen’s rich maritime heritage. At Vigo, fresh fish takes center stage in a warm and inviting atmosphere that feels like home. Locals rave about the renowned seafood sourced from Roeleveld, ensuring every dish is as fresh as can be.
We come to this restaurant regularly because it is one of the few places that consistently maintains a decent level of quality in both food and service. In terms of space it's a bit on a little side. We've ordered both à la carte and the set menu, and the food has always been fresh and tasty. We particularly enjoy the sushi, tuna steak, cod fish, tacos with tuna or salmon, and coquille. It's always a pleasure to dine here. Please keep it up, Vigo!

I have to say that I'm quite disappointed. We came in thinking we would be welcome with a dog. They told us we can only sit outside, which okay, I can respect that. We were exited for food, because it looked amazing on pictures, and they have a good reviews. That was a next disappointment. The food looked beautiful, but it absolutely lacked any taste. I don't know if the cook is allergic to salt and pepper? Otherwise the fish was cooked nicely. Also it was written in menu that you get a salát and fries to your food. Which as I understood should be for ever, meal. There I was probably wrong, since we got only one portion of both. Okay fine, we ate what we got and ordered a dessert. That is probably the only reason I give 2 stars to be honest. The waited didn't look very exited to have any customers there at the beginning, it got better with time. Overall I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting haag only for a few days. I think there are better (and cheaper) option to be found around the city. And also, which server gives a dessert spoon on the table outside without any napkin, plate on anything else? Just put it on the table and left.

Tuna tacos were tasty but not very big. Sushi was also tasty, even though didn’t look representable and quite small for the 22 euros but I liked it. My friend liked the fish but it was super simple. Look at the plate in the picture, it cost 30 euros 😅 Yes, she did ask to change rice for fries but again it doesn’t look very appealing. We also waited for like an hour for the main course. The waiters didn’t know much about the menu and had to go to the kitchen and bar to ask everything. We found out later that they charged us twice for the wine but I was able to send them an email and they agreed to return the money for the wine and even for cod fish garnishes which was very nice. Verdict: Can be tasty but with all other things I mentioned I didn’t feel like it was worth the money.

Our family visited this restaurant in the Easter, I would say quite disappointed for this bad experience. The woman who served us do not want to serve us with a good manner. And important is the food, u can see from pictures, there is one which looks not good and even unhealthy, I just asked to change one of them, she tried to joke me and do not understand my English and I point out that broke one , and have u seen the difference, she said no, and there is nature products should be like this. My requirement ist quite easy just change one , she said no, we do not have it anymore. We spent 223 euros in total but we get bad experience. Never come again !

Love this little area of the Hague and Vigo is a must if you love Seafood! The mussel's so sweet and the sauce was awesome for dunking the fries! The service was great! The servers are all fun and welcoming! My friend ordered the grilled sole...o Sole Mio! Soo good. We shared the seared scallops for appetizers .... chef's kiss! I'll be back next month and will order the grilled sole or maybe I'll order the mussels too!

Extremely disappointing service – ruined our Mother’s Day lunch I came with my daughter to celebrate Mother’s Day and was truly looking forward to a nice lunch. I had already seen the menu and tried to explain some dietary preferences, but the waitress responded with a negative attitude right from the start. When I asked about non-alcoholic drinks (since there was no menu), she dismissively said, “the same as everywhere else” – not exactly helpful. She walked past our table several times without even making eye contact or taking our order. Eventually, I had to get up and go to the counter myself. Even then, she remained distant and unbothered. Another waitress finally stepped in and kindly offered us a complimentary sushi dish, but the damage was done. At these prices, the least you expect is decent, respectful service. Unfortunately, we won’t be coming back or recommending this place.

We had a summer dinner as a group of 5. We ordered the Vigo trio, sweet potato truffle fries, and grilled octopus as starters. Smoked eel and salmon in Vigo trio were pretty good, their cocktail sauce was nice too. The grilled octopus was slightly overcooked for my taste, but the zhoug sauce that they served it on saved it. I was so happy to find their zhoug sauce on multiple dishes, it was very delicious but beware it's heavy on the garlic. From their mains, we tried the soles, weaver and the tuna fillet. Soles were crispy and the butter sauce was well-seasoned. The weaver was also well-made, the beurre noisette sauce and the red beat risotto that it was served on were the highlights on our table. The risotto especially, was one of the best I had at a restaurant. The sole vegetarian in our group went for the quinoa salad, which had their garlicky zhoug sauce and grilled zucchini, both of which were quite heavy on the garlic. The tuna dish also came with the same garlicky zucchinis I think, so beware if you're sensitive to the garlic. Overall, we enjoyed our meal at Vigo. The service was good too, our food arrived on time. Their wine menu is also rather extensive, and they had a waiter taking care of food and wine suggestions (not sure if he was a somellier, I forgot to ask). The atmosphere inside the restaurant is really cozy and they have beautiful decoration, but if the weather is good definitely dine outside in their garden as I've noticed they had melissas growing in their garden it smelled divine.

Mauritshuis is a government collection in The Hague, Netherlands, featuring hundreds of Dutch paintings including works by renowned artists like Rembrandt and Vermeer.
A bit crowded, but fantastic collection of Dutch painters. The atmosphere and space is just amazing. The gallery is not that huge, I think you can go through in an hour. I highly recommend to download the app before you go.

Visited Mauritshuis, a very well-known museum located in The Hague, near the Binnenhof. The first interesting thing I learned is that Mauritshuis actually means “Maurits’ house”, which is quite fascinating! However, behind the beauty of the building, the story of how its fortune was built is not entirely pleasant. However I won’t spoil it, because you should visit and find out yourself! This museum is also home to the iconic “Girl with a Pearl Earring” by Johannes Vermeer. Fun fact: we might not even be sure it’s an earring, as it doesn’t appear to be hooked! Another remarkable painting is “View of Delft”, also by Vermeer, which holds a special place in my heart since we live nearby and it carries meaningful memories. We even bought a puzzle of that painting, surprisingly affordable for something sold in such a prestigious museum! During our visit, there was also a live Q&A about painting restoration, where they were working on “The Bull” by Paulus Potter. It was fascinating to see how restoration combines art, material and chemical engineering, ethics, and history. For instance, The Bull was taken during the French occupation of the Netherlands, and at some point, a nail scratch was added to the painting. The big question is: do you fix it, restore it, or keep it as part of history? You decide! You can also download the Mauritshuis app and enjoy a free audio guide directly from your phone. I recommend bringing your own headset for the best experience. Overall, a truly great and thought-provoking experience, so I highly recommended!

A small but nice museum with a collection of beautiful paintings. I went there to see the Girl with the Pearl Earring. It was interesting to watch experts clean up one of the paintings. Staff are friendly & helpful, the museum & facilities are clean and the shop has nice souvenirs. You can buy your tickets at the reception as well as leave your coat and bags.

On a per square foot basis, this relatively small museum in the Hague might be the very best art museum in the world. The number of amazing masterpieces from the Dutch is nothing short of stunning. The ability to get close to them is even more wonderful, although people have to abuse this privilege by trying to vandalize the paintings with desserts and other terrible things. From start to finish, we were absolutely stunned by the quality and intimacy of this place. That someone who doesn’t even love art all that much, I fell in love with it.
David S — Google review
We were iffy about going here but saw it listed as maybe the top attraction in den Haag we ponied up and I enjoyed the very impressive detail of so many paintings from around 1600s then seeing Rubens and Rembrandt I was able to see what made them different and special - luminescence and stuff so that was interesting. To save walking up the steps there is a lift but the trick is the button is on top of the post outside not on the wall so if you’re looking on the wall you’ll never find the button for the lift.
Ultimobile — Google review
The Mauritshuis is a beautifully curated museum with an exceptional collection, including several world-famous paintings like Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring and Rembrandt’s The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp. The galleries are intimate and thoughtfully arranged, which makes it easy to appreciate each masterpiece up close. However, the museum is quite small, and the ticket price feels a bit high for the amount of time you can comfortably spend inside. Even so, the quality of the artwork and the elegance of the building make it a memorable and worthwhile visit.
T H — Google review
The museum is relatively small in size, but the collection of artworks it houses is exceptionally valuable and impressive. It includes masterpieces by Rembrandt, Vermeer, Hals, and many other renowned artists. Despite its size, the museum offers a rich and rewarding experience. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit.
Ali K — Google review
Many famous paintings are worth seeing, and the service is excellent from the front desk to the guiding staff. However, the museum’s voice guidance system isn't good enough; it has limited voice introductions to only some of the paintings and needs better optimization. It would be better to integrate it into a single system so tourists don't have to constantly switch between earphones, their own mobile phones, and the museum’s guidance devices.

"Escher in the Palace" is a permanent exhibition located in the former royal winter palace on Lange Voorhout in The Hague. This grand building now showcases the graphic artworks of M.C. Escher, a renowned Dutch artist known for his precise and bewildering works. The exhibition features a comprehensive collection of Escher's woodcuts, lithographs, and other pieces from various stages of his career, offering insight into his unique blending of different perspectives and mathematical rules with artistic subject matter.
Incredible! The palace in of itself is brilliant, but the history, life and works of M. C. Escher is just awe inspiring. I loved every moment of my few hours (yes that's all you need here). I really took my time walking around, reading pretty much everything. There's a summary as you enter each room/ gallery. I was really impressed by floor 3. Modern pieces that interpret the mind bending greatness of Eschers works, so do go up to the top floor. My biggest takeaway was how massively inspired/influenced/ motivated Escher was by the Islamic art and architecture of South Spain/ Andalucia. In the narrative there was more emphasis on his time in Italy and the wonderful landscapes there, but in my opinion Andalucia changed something in him towards the magnificent work we all really know him for, tessalations, metamorphosis, patterns, perspective etc. A memorable visit!
Khalid A — Google review
Loved this musuem. It was sorry of a two for the price of one as it was housed in a formal royal palace of Emma, the Queen Mother, mother to Queen Wilhelmina. Most of Escher's famous works were on display. Left the museum appreciating the genius that Escher was. Also has a cafe but didn't access it.
Heather M — Google review
An absolutely fascinating museum! The presentation of Escher’s work is outstanding — each piece is worth your time and your thoughts. Highlights include Metamorphosis III, an extraordinary 7-meter-long masterpiece that flows seamlessly from one image to another, and the mesmerizing Circle Limit series, where Escher’s genius for blending art and mathematics truly shines. The illusions room is a delight, letting you step into the kind of visual paradoxes that made Escher world-famous. A perfect blend of art, geometry, and imagination — not to be missed when in The Hague.
César F — Google review
Amazing artworks told and explained very well. I especially enjoyed the method which documented Escher's life and work - very elegant. The decision to display his works in the palace was well made, the architecture is splendid and wonderous.

If you're into architectural signs, you'll be amazed—it's like stepping into this museum! Truly stunning and beyond your wildest dreams. I spent two hours there, but honestly, it wasn’t enough to take in all the amazing creativity. It’s absolutely fantastic!

This place bends your brain in the best way possible. It’s M.C. Escher, so yes, the famous “stairs that go nowhere” are here, along with loads of other works (including some I’d never seen before). Honestly, I half expected to walk out of the museum upside down. The ticket price is refreshingly reasonable (rare in The Hague, where even a coffee can feel like modern art). I’d definitely go again. Tip: go in the morning, there’s so much to see that if you arrive late, your head will be spinning from illusions and from fatigue. Bring curiosity, maybe a coffee, and prepare to wonder if the gift shop exit is actually the entrance.
Teunis S — Google review
Beautiful museum! Extensive collection and enjoyed the interactive parts at the end on the top floor. They have free lockers for your bags, a cafe downstairs, and clean bathrooms.

All round good exhibit in an historic house. Who doesn't love Escher? If you don't, this isn't for you. If you do you'll find lots of prints and background. Many of the prints are marked "eigen druk" which means "my own print." Would have been nice if they'd cracked a few windows... Lockers are in basement and use fake coins they hand out. Bathroom was decent.

Historical landmark
The Passage, also known as Nieuwe Haagse Passage, is a grand shopping arcade in The Hague that dates back to 1885. This glass-roofed mall is lined with upscale stores, cafes, boutiques, jewellers, galleries and confectionery shops. It was designed along the lines of Paris's Passages Couverts and features an opulent setting with soaring glass domes and floor mosaics.
It’s a mix of high end retail stores. It’s a wide variety that’s fun to explore. Also some diverse food outlets with a combination of sit in and to go.
Loren G — Google review
When we arrived, most shops were closed for the first day of 2025. We still enjoyed the blue dusk draped over the dome gallery, casting a tranquil glow. The contrast of deep blue against the golden-yellow light reminded me of the palette Van Gogh often used in his paintings.

Very nice and clean mall. I just walked through quickly without looking for anything specific, but I still really liked it. The windows at the top looked super cool, and there was this cute pink tree in the middle of the mall that really stood out. Overall, a nice little visit :)

If you’re a fan of architecture, this is definitely a place to visit. Take a moment to dig into the history of the area—there’s more to it than meets the eye. On the first floor, you’ll notice some beautiful old apartments, many of them full of character. Interestingly, a few of these are now empty—not because they lack charm, but because they’re directly connected to the ground-floor shops and don’t have separate entrances. Historically, shop owners lived right above their businesses, but over time, that became unnecessary, and the living spaces were left unused. It’s a fascinating glimpse into how the building’s purpose and function have evolved over the years. Definitely worth a look if you appreciate historical layers in urban design.

The worst service I've ever experienced! 5 minutes standing at the door with waiters passing by, impossible to get their attention... Ok, I sat at a nearby table. 30 minutes later still nobody stopped by to ask what I would like to order. They looked at me couple of times, but still nobody came to me. I left and I don't think they even noticed... The most arrogant service! I don't recommend at all! P. S. 3-4 minutes before I left two young girls came to the café, immediately the male waiter RAN to greet them and invited them to take a seat. Almost immediately his other female colleague went to take their order... Trully disappointing experience as it seems the attention is not the same to all customers...

The place is in the middle of the busy The Passage and is as inviting as a good option in the region. The atmosphere is great, wide, comfortable and full of art. The staff is attempting and friendly, the service is efficient and fast. The food is quite good but there is no many options for some parts of the day like in the afternoons. In any case a great option when in Den Haag.

From the moment we entered, we were warmly welcomed. The staff were so attentive and even had a general conversation with us. On to the food; We couldn't believe how amazing everything was. We had the burrata and bitterballen for entree, steak for main and a cheeseboard and apple tart for dessert. Such amazing flavours. Nestled in the elegant quarter of The Hague, Hotel Des Indes is a historic boutique hotel that has been offering luxury accommodations for over 130 years. Surrounded by landmarks linked to the Dutch royal family, such as Noordeinde Palace and Escher in Het Paleis, this exclusive establishment exudes timeless charm. Despite its classic early 20th-century appearance, the hotel provides modern amenities for a comfortable stay.
An institution in The Hague. Truly exceptional. The entire hotel is just gorgeous – old, but so well maintained and preserved. Staff is excellent. Breakfast, lunch, high-tea, dinner – it’s all excellent. Rooms are carefully decorated and stylish, which is even more impressive given the old style. If you have the chance, definitely check it out.

The yellow hotel is our absolute favorite. We are from The Hague and booked this place to start our half a year travel around the world. And it was fantastic, from the massages, the doorman to the amazing breakfast. If you want to be recognised and taken care off, this is your place!

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Des Indes, but the highlight was definitely the high tea. Served in a stunning, historic setting, the experience was elegant and indulgent from start to finish. The selection of teas, savory bites, and sweet treats was beautifully curated and absolutely delicious. The service was impeccable—attentive without being intrusive. A perfect way to spend an afternoon in The Hague. Highly recommended!

The hotel is in a quiet location on a picturesque square, but a five or ten minute walk will take you into the lively centre of The Hague. At first glance it has an old fashioned appearance, and this carries on inside, but the service is modern and professional. The rooms are comfortable and air-conditioned, so no problem if you want to visit in high summer. The hot and cold buffet breakfast is excellent, and for an Englishmen there is a fine range of leaf teas. We spent four nights there and we would definitely return.

Hotel Des Indes is an absolutely beautiful and historic hotel, the kind of place where you could easily imagine taking up permanent residence. The building itself radiates elegance and old-world charm, and the interior feels like stepping into an Agatha Christie novel. --- From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the doorman with a big smile, setting the tone for what we hoped would be an exceptional stay. Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated, spotless, and offered a lovely view. The hotel’s location is also ideal, right next to an impressive square on the edge of The Hague’s historic city center; perfect for exploring all the main sights on foot. --- Where Hotel Des Indes truly shines is in its atmosphere and heritage, it’s one of those rare places that feels both grand and intimate at the same time. Unfortunately, the service in the lounge and dining areas did not live up to the same high standard. --- Our first experience in the lounge started with a 20-minute wait before anyone took our coffee order. We had to signal a member of the staff, despite there being only a few guests and several waiters on duty. Once we ordered, our cappuccinos took another 20 minutes to arrive. We wrote this off as bad luck and didn’t let it affect our overall impression, until dinner. --- Dinner service mirrored the same pattern: long waits and lack of attention. After being seated, it took about 20 minutes before anyone came to take our order, and once we ordered drinks and simple dishes, we waited another 20 minutes for our (cold) drinks, an hour for appetizers, and 45 minutes more for the main courses. At no point did anyone check in or offer another round of drinks. While the restaurant was busy, the service remained consistently slow and inattentive throughout the evening. A real shame, because the food itself was excellent, well presented and absolutely worthy of the hotel’s reputation. --- Breakfast the next morning, served buffet-style, was unfortunately similar. Coffee orders (there are no coffee machines at the buffet) took more than 25 minutes to arrive, and tables were often left uncleared even as new guests arrived, leaving many people unsure where to sit. Although there appeared to be enough staff, they seemed somewhat disorganized, perhaps due to a poor service management system. --- Despite these issues, we still consider Hotel Des Indes a special place to stay. The building, location, and ambiance are unmatched, and most of the staff we interacted with were warm, friendly, and professional. However, the service in the lounge and restaurant simply doesn’t meet the standards one would expect from a five-star establishment. --- We truly hope the hotel addresses these recurring service issues, because with improvements in that area, Hotel Des Indes would be flawless.

Beautiful hotel, perfect location, and a few restaurant hiccups! It's more 4 1/2 stars if I could give another half I would. Loved this hotel in Den Haag! It's in a fantastic location -- right next to a gorgeous park and literally steps away from the Escher Museum. It's also just a short walk to the Mauritshuis (hello, Girl with a Pearl Earring ) and surrounded by lots of things to do, see, and eat. The hotel itself is beautiful -- elegant lobby, rich-looking dining hall, and we stayed in a junior suite that was spacious, comfortable, and full of thoughtful touches like tons of drawers and cabinet space. Service across the board was excellent -- from the concierge to the doorman to housekeeping, everyone was friendly and professional. Now, about the restaurant... that's where things got a little bumpy. There was one incident early on that I reported to the front desk, and to their credit, they were super apologetic -- even saying, "this isn't the first time this happened and we'll talk to the manager." (Okay... not sure if that was meant to make me feel better, but I appreciated the honesty?) Anyway, after that, they went above and beyond -- our breakfast table was magically reserved for us every morning, and the person who had slipped up before turned into the nicest person ever. I booked four nights through my Amex Platinum and got all the perks that come with it -- totally worth it. The stay overall was wonderful, but again, the restaurant really needs some tightening up. One dinner night, we waited over an hour for our food which's slow even by European standards, and they forgot our fries. When they realized it, they offered to bring us two orders to make up for it -- sweet gesture, but we declined because... well, we love fries, just not that much . They brought out mayo, ketchup, and truffle mayo (yum!) -- but then it got a bit awkward because I overheard an American gentleman behind me earlier asking for ketchup, and the waitress told him they didn't have any. My husband whispered, "He's looking at your ketchup." I wanted to offer him some, but by the time my fries arrived, his were long gone. Oops. Food-wise, everything else was really good -- especially the sea bass, perfectly cooked with crispy skin just the way it should be. All in all, despite a few restaurant quirks, I'd definitely stay here again next time I'm in The Hague. The service, comfort, and location more than make up for it -- just maybe skip dinner downstairs and explore the city's food scene instead!

This sandwich shop has a variety of toasties, panini and even a yogurt bowl to order. They are reasonably priced and offer outdoor seating for those sunny days.
Cozy ambiance, very kind & attentive staff, and absolutely delicious toasties. We initially came to eat 1 tosti; chorizo (not in picture), it was so good, we had to order more. The tosti Pizza and Croque Monsieur, were also very good! Definitely coming back!

We had breakfast with Family I at a cozy spot in The Hague. The food was quite enjoyable, but the service left something to be desired. The waiter mixed up our coffee order, serving us long coffee instead of cappuccino. Later, he even asked if we wanted to pay for both, which was odd. Despite that, the meal itself was tasty, and the ambiance was pleasant for a family gathering. Worth a visit if you’re not too fussy about service!

The service was great. Very friendly people. Place has ample seating and is great for a quick bite. Food was good and the coffee was great! Well toasted and flavour on the tuna. Suggestions: if you offer the Crocque Monsieur in vegetarian please offer an alternate to the ham like a vegan ham please? Also, the tuna melt is exactly that, a melt. Please add more cheese to the sandwich. Thank you.

Restaurant Waterproef is a stunning dining venue located in The Hague, established in 2007 and situated next to the harbor. It offers luxurious dining with a beautiful view of the marina and an extensive wine list. The interior surprises with a mix of modern elements and old, classic influences. With the capacity to host up to 130 people, it's perfect for dinners, meetings, or receptions.
A good surprise menu that you can choose from between 3 to 6 courses. The food was delicious with every course well presented, cooked well and very nicely prepared. We took the wine tasting to accompany the menu and the pairings were excellent. The staff were all extremely pleasant and knowledgeable with a good level of space given between courses too. An excellent restaurant that does well for a special occasion as well as for just a private dinner for two.

We had a fabulous evening thanks to the chef and the staff of the restaurant, the beautiful setting and the amazing dishes dishes wine. I thoroughly enjoyed the fully vegan 5 course dinner that chef Bob prepared for me, upon prior request, and his signature smoked carrot dish was out of this world. The first dish was a perfect mirror of the omnivore version made with Jerusalem artichokes, seriously amazing. The dessert was pumpkin sorbet with condensed coconut milk, wow! The wine was utterly delicious, their wine menu is really extensive and interesting. All in all a perfect choice for a special celebration or event.

My mum and I visited the restaurant at the 9/18/2020. We’ve had an fantastic 6 course Menü, each course was amazing. Especially the pork belly course, it was WOW. We never ate such a delicious and spicy sauce it was like a little explosion of taste in our mouth and the pork was perfekt. The restaurant is chick and you feel very comfortable. The service was perfect, they always had a smile on their face and you never waited long for anything the hole time. We would be come back when we visit Scheveningen the next time. It was a pleasure. All the best, Vanessa & Heike Burchert

A classy and stylish restaurant where we had a truly enjoyable dining experience. It's in the harbour area, but it's not a specific fish restaurant. We choose on of the surprise menus with the wines, which was great; well presented, well explained and great flavour combinations, with excellent wines. We had fish and meat dishes, all prepared with great attention to detail. It was a winter evening and towards the end of the evening we got a bit chilly. Bring a warm jumper. I will be back.

Restaurant where all wishes come true. We tried chef's menu and it was an exciting experience. The chef came to explain the main dishes. For my husband, who is vegetarian (not easy to please), the chef made an unforgettable leek bbq. Truly a master! Great ambiance, amazing food and nice selection of wine. Small place, which is good. Less noisy, as opposed to other neighbouring restaurants. Waiting for food can be daunting, but it is all worth it. Be patient and be ready to be amazed!

Day 4

Off the beaten path
For day 4, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Louwman Museum. Not quite as popular as Madurodam, but still highly rated among many travelers. Accounting for getting around and average time spent, today’s activities could take about 8 hours.

Specialty Museums
The Louwman Museum, located in The Hague, Netherlands, is home to an impressive private collection of over 250 antique and classic cars, motorcycles, and other automotive artifacts. Founded by Evert Louwman, the museum showcases vehicles dating back to the late 19th century as well as rare exhibits such as early motorcars, racing legends, and innovative prototypes.
We had the best time at the Louwman car museum the other day, and I highly recommend it. Seeing some of the earliest cars ever made was pretty cool. The museum was arranged so well, making it easy to navigate and appreciate each vehicle. There were so many interesting and informative displays that we learned a lot. Overall, it was a really great experience!
Chane Z — Google review
Amazing muzeum with a variety of motorised vehicles, from horseless carragies, motor bikes and cars, to fire engines and buses. A lot of interesting information provided. Great collection of car related art as well. The parking is quite expensive, especially given that it is a car museum.
Alicja C — Google review
Sore feet warning - but there are plenty of places to sit down to rest along the way. We spent three hours here - even my partner who was not interested in cars was quite absorbed - the most pre-1900 cars I’ve seen - the earliest hybrid electric - the earliest electric cars - an amazing variety in history. After that we needed a break but the on-site cafe while looking like Disneyland was disappointing. The Dutch snack plate recommended by the waiter was four deep fried potato croquettes, two deep fried chicken nuggets, maybe four tiny spring rolls of cheese and some potato crisps from a packet - not impressive. I had a white beer which also didn’t taste that good to me.
Ultimobile — Google review
This museum is a great collection starting from the very beginning of building cars, transitioning horse wagons into motorized vehicles. A beautiful building this collection will blow your mind while you walk from one room into the next and find another treasure. It is possible to see everything in two hours walk, but if you prefer to have a better understanding of all the cars, you can easily fill up a whole day within the museum. There is as well restaurants, which looks very cozy. Overall, the experience is Really great.
Leon V — Google review
Great experience. It is perhaps one of its kind! Really impressive. Some suggestions: the entrance is quite crammed with one person doing everything and no space. Also would be interesting to add how much the vehicles cost at their time and the equivalent for our days. I think it can show us how accessible the cars were for common people. Anyways it was amazing!
Julie C — Google review
Really a very wonderful museum. Thought about going there for years but didn't do it till today because I thought it was expensive, small and focussed on on a few rarity cars. Boy was I wrong! The external images of the museum makes it look ehh, not large. But in reality it is. It also has 3 (!) floors. Most of the collection covers the era between 1890 till the 1960's which I really like. I wish some of the colours on these cars where available today, just marvelous. Also a lot of cars with a special place in history, a Cadillac owned by Elvis Presley, the Austin martin db5 from James Bond Goldfinger. Both cars from the British film Genevieve (which I just watched and loved). Two cars from The godfather and a lot more. Must not forget to mention the cafe which is indoors but designed like let's say a village square. Simple but lovely. Lots of eye candy. In short, don't be deceived by the external shots which make it it feel small. The place is huge and in it's own a really wonderful building, but go there and be amazed!!
Erwin B — Google review
Best museum I have ever visited. Cleverly designed path keep your attention, there is a piece of collection that you can relate to in every corner and it's not just cars. You can find old fuel pump, car toys, biycles, everything that is related to transportation. I highly reccomend the Museum.

Noordeinde Palace, a historic site dating back to the 16th century, serves as the Dutch king's offices and is not open for public tours.
Oh wow that was amazing, I wanted to visit that place just because it came to my mind to visit a royal palace and I got lucky because then figured out that it was opened just for two weeks in the year. The atmosphere inside is magnificent and I felt soo lucky to be there. There was even audio guides which I did not expect. The only rule that you need to hang it on your neck posed me off😄 because I don’t like to hang something on the neck and feel uncomfortable. Also mind that you can’t take videos and of course touch anything. But photos were amazing, I wanted to match the place as also few (unfortunately) people. Because I am maybe very visual so people on the sneakers and shorts was breaking the feeling that you are somewhere in the classy place and brought you back to relity.

Definitely worth a visit if you have the opportunity, because it's rare to see a palace that is in actual use. Only accessible for a few weeks per year, though, and with limited availability of tickets.

A wonderful experience visiting Palace Noordeinde, the working palace of the Dutch King. It’s a rare treat since the palace is only open to the public for a couple of weeks each year. We loved learning about its rich history and seeing the many beautifully decorated rooms, each with its own official purpose. We bought a combination ticket with the Royal Stables and spent about 3 hours in total exploring both. The audio guide was excellent and really brought the stories to life. Overall, a great afternoon and highly recommended if you get the chance!

Beautiful palace with a lovely architecture. This is the working palace of our king and he opened it to the public during his holidays. A good choice, the palace houses a lot of history. The works of art, various rooms give you a unique glimpse behind the scenes of the Royal House. The Tour is well organised. There are two queues and just in time I could enter. There is a set route and on arrival you can do an audio/video Tour. The audio/video Tour really comes highly recommended. You get a lot of information about the rooms and art. I enjoyed it!
Eduard V — Google review
We were so lucky to find tickets as the palace is open to visitors only for a few days during the summer. The entire experience is beautiful and so special! The audio guide which you'll receive at the entrance free of charge is very informative and easy to use. All the staff members were amazing, always smiling and happy to answer any questions. The palace itself is superb and unique, so worth visiting if you get the opportunity!

I have been to this place a couple of times in the past few years, but my most recent visit definitely deserves a review. My friend and I had an exceptional experience. We had the self braai package, multiple sides and some drinks. The service was amazing. The food and drinks were tasty and brought out within a short space of time. A very big shout out to Mario, who was our waiter for the day. He is such a friendly, calm, exemplary, and professional guy. Thanks for making our lunch outing one to remember. The industry definitely needs more Super Mario's like you 😀

The food was really nice and we loved our drinks. The staff is calm and friendly and so was the food. I was having a struggle deciding but the african chicken salad was absolutely beautiful. Again compliments to the girls working, the bar and the chef

Not the best. The server mixed our orders. The table was too oily of the fireplace, and we had to clean it ourselves. We wanted to order starter, and main course, and asked if we can have starter before the main, and the answer was’No, we bring all together’! They did not have the ‘soup of the day’!! Etc. Finally we asked, and they cleaned the table. We were thinking maybe we get good food at the end, but it didn’t happen! We ordered well done hamburgers, we received red minced meat.

It was so pleasant. The food is good and Emma is perfect! She made us feel seen and well taken care of. We will definitely come back!

Beautiful location to tuck away during a cold, rainy day while walking along the coast. We sat by a little fire and enjoyed the frites, wine and salad. Very enjoyable experience and would love to go again.

We visited this restaurant for a family meal and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. One of the pieces of barbecue meat was spoiled and had a bad smell. The staff did replace it when we pointed it out, but later that evening all three of us in the family ended up with food poisoning symptoms and suffered from stomach issues for two days. I rarely leave negative reviews, but food safety is very important and this experience really affected our trust in the restaurant. I hope the management takes this seriously and improves their quality control.

Very chill nice vibe. This is their piña colada… i told the waitress that they forgot the coconut milk and i was brought the same drink… i guess that is just how their piña colada is. Not one of their best cocktails. Have not tried the food here yes tho

Such a beautifully decorated place. The music was a hit. We went on a sunny evening and the service was a bit slow, maybe a bit understaffed, had to wait for so long before getting service. The cocktails were also very watered down. I would go back for the food

We went there with a baby and asked for some vegan snack for lunch. They have several baby chairs (the usual ikea ones, where you hit your toes). We had some vegan bitter ballen and a bread with vegetables and humus. The people were super friendly and the ambience was great.

‼️ The worst service I have ever had at a beach club/restaurant Scheveningen. It’s not busy at all but still they managed to forget our nachos. After 45 minutes of waiting for the nachos to arrive we asked what happened to our nachos. The lady checked and said sorry something went wrong but you’ll get them in 2 minutes. And we did….. While waiting for 45 minutes after ordering, no waiter/waitress came up to us to ask if everything’s alright. I have been to other spots at Scheveningen and usually you got people coming to your table to ask if everything’s alright or if you want to order more every 10-15 min. No one came up to us in those 45 minutes and it was difficult to get someone’s attention.. at our last try we decided to try get someone’s attention or walk up to the bar and cancel the nachos.. 🧊Our ice cubes in our drinks melted by the time we received our nachos (see pics). The nachos are good but the service really ruined the experience. I definitely do not recommend this place. It’s a waste of time and so frustrating because it messed up our day schedule.
Melisa H — Google review
I love the Sunday breakfasts, although the price really increased over the years (way more than the other restaurants). The food is nice and staff is helpful. The Tapas Deal is great, but also increased price and reduced amount… even tho, great atmosphere and good beach bar :)
Marinna B — Google review
We had their Sunday Brunch. It is really a good offer and for the price, I would say a really good breakfast spread. The food tasted really good too. There was a lady who made fresh fried eggs the entire time of the brunch. And the place was really full so there was a bit waiting time each time we had to stand in queue for the food. But that is kinda embarrassing expected with such a good offer. The ambience is Ofcourse good, depending on where you sit, you even have a beach view. Con: The service was maybe not the best. We were shown to a table where the guests were just leaving. They cleared the plates and mugs etc but didn’t really clean the table after that. We asked for a baby chair, and they brought one but that was so dirty. There was food remains(fresh and old) and they didn’t bother to clean it for us. We waited for a while and then cleaned the baby chair and our table ourselves with baby wipes. So a minus ⭐️ for that.
Ehrliche R — Google review
I used to come to this restaurant quite often, but after my last visit, I won’t be returning. They offer a buffet from 9:00 until 13:00, but by 11:30, many items were already missing and weren’t being replenished. When we complained, they offered us a free round of drinks, but only from a limited selection, not including the more “expensive” options. Overall, the experience was very frustrating and disappointing. The quality and service have clearly gone downhill. I don’t recommend this place anymore.
Bruna V — Google review
The medium grilled burger tasted poorly and after one bite we wanted to send it back. The very friendly and attentive waitress took it in, but returned with the managers remark: the meat is fresh and good. My ordered fish‘n chips was hard as cement and the fish inside was like rubber. I know these are challenging times. But never treat customers like that! Even convenience food for a place like this one deserve better handling. The music was very nice.
Daniel W — Google review
Like some others reviews mentioned it before, the fish and chips is hard as cement. It is supposed to be cod fish but it tooks like they get the cheapest fish they can buy with mostly skin on it and then fry it. And on top of that, they ask you if you want ketchup or mayonnaise with the french fries but don't tell you it will be charged 1 euro extra. Avoid the place.

We had high hopes for a nice Valentine’s dinner, but unfortunately, this restaurant did not meet expectations. From the start, service was incredibly slow. After placing our order, we waited over 20 minutes just to receive our drinks. Then, after a long wait for our food, we were informed that there had been an issue with our order and that it had to be placed again. To compensate, they brought us free bread and butter, which we ended up eating entirely out of hunger. By the time our starters finally arrived (an hour later!), we had already lost our appetite. The delays didn’t stop there—after finishing the starters, we waited another 45 minutes for our main courses. At the end, they offered free tea as an apology, but by that point, the evening was already ruined. The food itself was nothing special, certainly not worth the wait. Additionally, considering it was a Valentine’s Day special, the atmosphere was completely lacking—no candles, no flowers, nothing to create a romantic vibe. Since the restaurant is located inside a hotel, it felt more like a lobby dining area than a proper restaurant. Overall, a very disappointing experience.

A nice selection of dishes on the lunch menu. The dish I chose looked better than I was expecting and tasted even better yet. The staff were very nice and personable. The only issue is the mirrors on the ceiling. I felt like I couldn't check my work email because it would be broadcast to the tables next to us... An odd decor choice for a hotel restaurant in a city like The Hague.

Botanica is located inside of the Voco hotel. As the name already tells, the focus is on vegetables and the interior is like a small garden. The atmosphere is nice, but not as cozy as the restaurant is open to the hotel lobby. Service is friendly, but not the quickest. The food was very nice and surprising. It is centered around locally sourced Dutch food. The menu even lists the CO2 impact per dish. Lovely. Just be aware that this place is on the expensive side.

We had a delicious dinner here, tried delicious dishes such as brussels sprouts, porc neck, salsify and the Dutch cheeses from Ed Boele (who once was my local cheese monger). Staff is friendly, but a bit chaotic and overstretched, it seems. Waits can be on the long side. Dishes are not too big, and created in such a way that you can pick each one as a starter or main. The joy here is to experimemt a bit and maybe share some. The restaurant is in the Voco hotel, even though yoi can't see that from the outside.

We were pleasantly surprises by the voco hotel's restaurant Botanica, we had a free three course dinner which was beautiful, flavors that complimented each other, and absolutely delicious. Definitely worth a visit, staff is very friendly.

Seafood restaurant
Restaurant
Catch by Simonis is a renowned restaurant located at the west end, offering a stunning terrace facing the yachts. The menu features delectable dishes such as sole, sea bass, lobster, caviar, and bouillabaisse. At the southeast corner are popular spots for fish and chips or herring sandwiches. Further along is Catch by Simonis' luxurious sibling with an elegant decor and delicious oysters and lobster. Waterproef offers refined French cuisine with Mediterranean and Asian influences.
Catch in Scheveningen absolutely deserves five stars! From the moment we arrived, everything was spot on — the atmosphere is stylish yet welcoming, with beautiful views over the harbor. The seafood was outstanding: fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Service was attentive and friendly without being overbearing. It’s the kind of place where you truly feel taken care of. Perfect for a special night out or a relaxed lunch by the water. Highly recommend!

Overall, I wasn’t particularly impressed. It was an okay experience—pleasant, but not “wow.” The food was good, and the prices were reasonable given the location, atmosphere, and quality of the dishes. Service was decent, though there’s definitely room for improvement. Our waiter was kind and welcoming, and we were greeted with a smile at the entrance. However, the staff member who escorted us to our table came off more like a bouncer—serious and unapproachable. A simple smile would’ve made a big difference. As mentioned, the food was tasty, and the portions were generous. Unfortunately, we did find two long hairs in our dishes, which was off-putting. On a brighter note, the desserts were excellent—definitely the highlight of the meal. The restaurant is accessible with public transportation if you are not willing to worry about a parking. Elevator is available which makes it also accessible for wheelchairs.

We had a wonderful dining experience at Catch by Simonis. The atmosphere is elegant yet welcoming, and the seafood is truly exceptional – fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. A special thank you to our waitress, Laura, who made our evening even more enjoyable. She was attentive, professional, and very friendly. What impressed us most was that she took the time and effort to speak German with us, which made us feel especially welcome. It showed her genuine dedication to giving guests the best possible experience. Overall, Catch by Simonis is a must-visit in The Hague – outstanding food, great ambiance, and excellent service. We will definitely come back!

My favorite restaurant for special occasions. Catch by Simonis is truly my go-to place for special events like birthdays or anniversaries. Every time I visit, I feel incredibly well taken care of. The staff is genuinely warm, attentive, and professional — you can really sense their dedication to making guests feel comfortable and welcomed. The location is stunning, right by the harbor in Scheveningen. The maritime atmosphere adds a charming touch to the overall experience, especially given the focus on fresh seafood. The dishes are beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. From the perfectly baked bread to the elegant desserts, each course is a feast for both the eyes and the palate. Their wine selection is also impressive and always offers excellent pairings with the fish-based menu. Prices are more than fair considering the quality of food, service, and ambiance. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy a special evening in a refined yet relaxed setting.

Lively, upscale and full of energy, Catch delivers on both atmosphere and flavor. Classic seafood staples include lobster bisque, sole meunière, oysters, king crab legs and more. The cocktails are well balanced and the wine list offers plenty of pairing options. With sleek interiors and a vibrant crowd, it is one of the city's top picks for fine seafood dining.

We had a very good lunch at Catch by Simonis in the marina. The restaurant is stylishly designed, creating a pleasant setting to enjoy the view and atmosphere. The seafood was fresh and of high quality, with plenty of options to choose from, and there’s also a good selection of other dishes for every taste. A great spot in The Hague for anyone who appreciates well-prepared food in a beautiful location.

An excellent dining experience at Catch by Simonis! The fish was incredibly fresh, the lobster perfectly prepared, and the starters absolutely splendid. Service was impeccable — attentive, professional, and with great attention to detail. The ambience strikes the right balance between elegant and relaxed, making it a perfect spot for both business dinners and social evenings. Highly recommended.

①GILLARDEAU NO. 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ ②COQUILLES ⭐️ It's too greasy and you can only taste the cheese ③TOSTADA PALING ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐️ My favoriet ④HAMACHI CEVICHE ⭐⭐ The sea lavender has too strong flavor that the whole dish tastes like “parfum” ⑤CATCH COMBINATION ⭐⭐ tastes just like a perfectly ordinary salad — nothing special. ⑥ZEEBAARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The fish is pan-seared with crispy golden skin, savory sauce with the shimeiji mushrooms is delicious. ⑦ AARDBEIEN ROMANOV ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ very pleasant ending, it taste good not overly sweet, also the texture is great The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and good service. The food didn't wow me.....though the ingredients tasted fresh enough. On the ….It's not the best value, making it more suitable for special occasions or dates. If you're a big seafood fan, you might want to give it a try. I'd consider coming back for drinks with friends paired with a couple of small dishes ( especially the tostada paling) However, for a proper dinner, it wouldn't be my top choice for a seafood restaurant. Still it was a memorable dining experience, and I truly appreciate the service from the chefs and servers.

Hofhouse

Lunch restaurant
Bar
Hofhouse is a sprawling glass conservatory near Den Haag Centraal, housing a variety of restaurants. It features six permanent kitchens offering diverse cuisines, such as burgers and garlic fries from Burgerz, fresh pizzas from Da Portare VIA, Asian delights including ramen and steamed buns at NOOMI, and Mexican fare at MadMex with tacos, burritos, nachos, quesadillas, and Mexican sodas.
Went with a large group and they forgot my order, but okay service. Beautiful place.

This place is large and clear. Staffs are kind. Price is reasonable. Delicious! I like a veggie dog. Pasta as well. But pizza is little bit thick.

We went here for lunch. Had a starter at boogie street food, the satay. Meat was tender and juicy, 2 skewers with some peanut sauce, a few crisps & pickles on the side. As a snack the size is perfect but in my opinion overpriced. Slightly more than 5€ for the portion. The sauce lacked a bit of umpf. I'm a Singaporean and a foodie, passionate (home)cook too. The peanut sauce did disappoint a little. I had higher expectations. Moving on to our main dish Burgerz!!! We had the mean chilli bean burger, for vegetarians MUST TRY. It was f.i.n.e.! Definitely order again, zingy, spicy, moist, sweet all in 1 huge burger. The meat burger was huge-rderder...juicy AF and a serious man burger! Worth the pay!

Classy food court with local beer and international food options. Burgerz is a must try. Baked fries and one of the best tasting burgers you'll ever have. A server comes around the table to offer drinks but you do have to go up to a counter to order any food. You have to pay for drinks and food seperately which is a bit inconvenient. Also, no cash.

The bar had Lagunitas IPA on tap.. they have a few Oedipus bottles and a couple of macro Belgian and Dutch beers. Free WiFi. Didn't try the food. PIN only , no cash at the bar.

If you are looking for a place to get some work done near the station this is the place. They have sockets to plug your computer, friendly staff and coffee, food or drinks to fuel your thoughts. Highly recommended.

Good place to have a chat, work or study. It is spacey, and has a good WiFi network. Prices are okay. Staff is great.
