Nestled in the serene landscapes of Devon, The Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth is a delightful destination for families, especially those with children aged 4 to 10. This remarkable sanctuary is home to over 500 donkeys, many of whom have been rescued from difficult situations. Visitors can freely explore the expansive grounds and interact with these gentle creatures in the main donkey yard. The sanctuary features an outdoor play area themed around farm life and a fun maze that promises hours of entertainment for kids.
Spotted signposted on our way to Sidmouth and decided to swing by on our way back and very happy we did. It was a lovely place to drop by at and a big place to walk around leisurely. Loads of donkeys all over the place and a fun little maze. Free entrance but we made a donation and bought some bits on their shop as it goes towards a nice cause looking after them and provides a nice place to come if you are in the area. Recommend it and if in the area again I am sure we would swing by again as like I say, was a nice place to walk around if nothing else. We went on a Saturday afternoon and was easy to park and not too busy. Relatively flat under foot, not that it mattered to us but just letting you know if you have any walking issues.

Excellent facilities, very dog friendly. Lovely walk in good weather. Enjoyed seeing Donkeys in nice surroundings; very well cared for and loved. Gorgeous coffee and cake in the cafe too.
Fay T — Google review
Great place. Definitely recommend coming here. Free entry and you can donate to help out. Donkeys were lovely and funny when one started issues with another donkey for smelling poo. They do sound like they have sore throats from all the noises they make 😂. Beautiful place tho and good clean toilets
Mel C — Google review
I just had to meet Walter! The donkey whom my husband had gifted an adoption from The Donkey Sanctuary. I was expecting an old fashioned set up but I was totally wrong. The entrance is modern, well kept and clean. It is all well organised and the lovely people who work and volunteer, are well informed and willing to answer questions. We sat through a lovely informative talk where we watched the donkeys like a heard of cattle go back into the main barn that had fresh hay. They are such gentle animals, well worth the visit. It caters for all ages and with plenty of car parking spaces too. Definitely would recommend
Helen N — Google review
What a beautiful location! There are so many well-cared-for donkeys, and we enjoyed an informative talk from one of the staff members. The hedge maze and play area for children provide great fun for everyone. There is plenty of seating around the park and fields. The restaurant was very popular, with a big queue leading into the main area. The food is excellent and offers amazing value for money, with huge cups of coffee. All the staff were working very hard. How is this place free? The shop has a wide range of items, all at low prices. It’s just fantastic! We will definitely be back soon.
Wayne R — Google review
Wonderful example of conservancy & protection of these gentle creatures. See many donkeys living in grassy fields and close up in their pens. Great layout of viewing walks all signposted with donkey info. Children will love it. Tea rooms and lunches also served.
Dale T — Google review
What a gem this is. A peaceful, tranquil site with c.200 donkeys roaming the many paddocks. Good restaurant, gift shop, educational area and things for kids including a surprisingly tricky maze. Highly recommended way to spend an afternoon, with your dogs if you like also. Just remember to donate as the place is free entry.
J W — Google review
Amazing place to visit. Facilities are great for visitors and Donkeys! The staff are excellent. The talk at shelter 1 when we went was very interesting and also entertaining when one naughty Donkey nibbled and undid the shoelace of the handler doing the talk. I never knew Donkeys cannot take much weight at all despite everything you see on screen and TV! Its well worth a visit. Entry is free! But please donate to such a good cause. We were visiting our adopted Donkey, Ashley on the day but the walks around the massive grounds are great to do and the cafe is well worth a stop off after too!

The Byes is a picturesque riverside park that spans over a mile from the toll house at Salcombe Road to the village of Sidford in Sidmouth. It features rolling fields, grassy meadows, and the tranquil River Sid. The park offers benches for enjoying the views and wildlife, including kingfishers hunting for fish.
The byes is the perfect place to get away from the busy town and just listen to the birds and streams, I highly recommend a late night walk around 11pm-12am it's when all the wildlife starts springing out! Watch the bats fly, the foxes run around, and owls call to each other it really is a completely different experience to the day!

A tranquil wooded and grass meadow running beside the River Sid from the edge of town up to Sidford. Public footpath and cycle routes give easy access through this nature reserve, which is beautiful!
Philippa B — Google review
A lovely place in the middle of Sidmouth to go for a walk and experience nature at its best. Green grass, large trees and a stream. Perfect for dog walkers and ramblers or anyone who wants to get a breath if fresh clean air.
Julie S — Google review
Lovely area to walk your dog or just to walk or ride through as it has a bike path. Beautiful on hot days as your can explore more along the fields as it’s not to wet. 🐶🐕🦮🐩🐕‍🦺🐾
Paul S — Google review
We visited the Byes on a hot day. There was plenty of shade to walk with our dog. She went in the River Sid a few times. Once, completely disappearing as it was deep. She made it out herself and shook herself off to chase her ball.
Çhristine T — Google review
A beautiful place to walk and leads straight into Sidmouth town centre with lots of lovely shops, carry on walking and you arrive at the beach....what could be better. This area is simply perfect 👌

Great place for walking dogs. Lots of places for them to run and interact with other people and dogs. River nearby is easy to access, especially in the summer.
Dan G — Google review
Well worth parking back from the seafront and taking a walk along the river. There is a footpath and cycle path that follows the river right down the the centre of Sidmouth so you can enjoy a bit of nature down through the Byes, and then enjoy the beach without having to drive through town!

Pub
Restaurant
The Swan Inn is a classic British pub located in the heart of Sidmouth, featuring old-fashioned decor and a dog-friendly bar. It's known for serving traditional pub fare and offers a charming garden with outdoor seating. The inn holds historical significance as the home of 'The King Of Chit', an annual celebration dating back to the town's fishing community. Visitors praise the delicious meals such as roasted mushroom and ale pie, handmade chicken fillet burger, and fresh salads.
Great local pub with a warm welcome and delicious food, huge portions and a roaring wood burner on a cold and stormy night! Enjoyed so much we returned for dinner the second night too! What's not to like?!

Amazing food, friendly staff, good beer! Everything I think you need for an excellent pub. Loved the tall sunflowers! 🌻

L shaped room with an adjoining room to the right. Food being served which smelt amazing. Tap beers and a few real ales available. Cash or card payments. Most of the ceiling and walls are a wooden panelling which as been painted. Wooden floor in bar, adjoining room was carpeted more like a lounge where people dined. Marquee outside at the back of the premises for outside drinking. Staff were friendly and polite. Beer was good. Enjoyed my visit.
Paul P — Google review
visited a few pubs in Sidmouth and based on the one pint view - the Swan was easily the best. Felt like the interior matched the character and history of the exterior (didn’t get that from some of the other pubs). We walked in at about 7ish on a Thursday night and it was pretty much full with a lovely atmosphere. Bar staff super friendly. Good beer.
Jake H — Google review
Discovered this pub on our last visit to Sidmouth when searching for a cheeky beer. Came back again and enjoyed a lovely lunch & beer. Great pub, beer was spot on & food was fab. Bar staff could not be more friendly, made us and our dog feel super welcome. Love that as you walk in you're greeted by dogs chilling whilst their owners have a drink, sets the vibe for the pub. If authentic pubs with home cooked food & great beer selection are your thing you will not be disappointed here!
Louise A — Google review
Superb home cooked food, good choice. Friendly, helpful staff, nice clean pub, outside seating to side & rear. Only criticism, and it is only a very slight one, is beer choice. Three hand pulls available on my visit; would have liked to see choice from brewers like Palmers of Bridport or Salcombe brewery, but this is a very minor niggle. Far and away the best pub in Sidmouth!
Ian S — Google review
Absolutely delicious meal. Roasted mushroom and Ale pie and Handmade Chicken fillet burger. The salad was delicious with a whole variety of salad ingredients. Coleslaw was wonderful. Crunchy chips, and all piping hot. Service was wonderful and so friendly. Lovely old fashioned traditional pub. Can't recommend highly enough

Sidmouth was fully booked for food on a Saturday night. The Swan was close to our hotel and had good reviews. Fortunate to get the last table in a packed out pub. Very busy and loud but a friendly atmosphere. Was taken to a table and the menu selection was on boards on the wall. We went for deep fried whitebait and the lasagne. Huge amount of whitebait and good portion of lasagne. Both were nice. Fair price. Appreciate getting a table.

The Anchor Inn is a traditional pub that offers delicious and hearty meals, including weekly specials. It prides itself on serving real ales and locally produced gins in a charming setting. Despite some reports of being fully booked, the staff went out of their way to accommodate customers by offering tables in the bar area. The Sunday roast is highly recommended for its mouthwatering flavors and generous portions. Despite being busy and understaffed at times, the service remained attentive and efficient.
Updated 7/02/25 Re visited again today while in area, once again food fantastic flavours and very good quantity. Pub well worth visiting for a meal when in Sidmouth. Is much larger inside than it looks from outside with plenty of seating in several different areas. Very good menu with plenty of choice and also a good range of daily specials. Service is quite fast, staff very attentive. The quality of the food is excellent and the amounts just right. Have now visited several times for lunches now and have never been disappointed.

Great food and excellent staff. Well worth a visit (although please note, the desserts are over the top!)

Alot if the tables were reserved however we had a table ordered a tuna and cucumber sandwich which was doorstep thick accompanied with salad crisps and coleslaw my friend had a prawn sandwich she said it was one of the best she has ever had, also chips and onion rings. Definitely worth the money which we thought wasn't overly expensive as we also had a latte and pint of coke all for £29

Absolutely fantastic pub and restaurant with melt in the mouth and to die for food, very friendly and helpful staff really polite and courteous who went out of their way to make sure everything was just right and that we had a great experience. The service was outstanding the whole place was clean, smart and they served top quality food at very reasonable prices, we hadn't booked a table but many tables were reserved but they still accommodated us and many others too. This restaurant is very popular and I can see why we will definitely eat their again but we may book next time so as not to be disappointed if it's busy. Congratulations and hearty top marks to the management and staff for a really great experience, well done to the whole team. 👍👍👍

Great meal with my bestie. Home made lamb and red wine pie and prawn and crab salad, both delicious. Chips with blue cheese, yum. Followed by Biscoff cheesecake and lemon curd cheesecake, OMG both absolutely stuffed. Quick service, lovely staff and great food, what more could you ask for 😊

What a lovely venue. Staff so happy and friendly and genuinely look like they enjoy working there which creates a lovely atmosphere! The food is amazing and fantastic value for money.

I have been to The Anchor twice now for lunchtime meals with friends and have been really impressed with the food on offer and the service. I recently had their fish pie, which tasted great! My wife had cod and chips and didn't leave me any scraps whatsoever. Respect to the chef! They also provide smaller portions at a good price. I highly recommend this pub.

Always a joy to visit: the food is delicious, generous and well presented; the staff and service are excellent, very friendly and efficient; and it has a great atmosphere. It's often busy, understandably so given that it's so good, so it's wise to book a table.

Went there for dinner and it was so good we went back the following day for lunch. Food is amazing, had the fish of the day for dinner and the gnocchi for the lunch. Special mention for the mussels which were had both days, some of the best I’ve ever had

Lovely meal on a Saturday in November. A warm dry space out of the cold. On the first floor looking down on the main street, good for people watching. We had fish and chips, freshly cooked, katsu curry and the special of monkfish in a lobster sauce, all delicious. One bailies cheesecake. Recommend a visit. Patient service

We called today last minute and a table was arranged short notice. The reception on arrival was welcoming and lovely. The food was exceptional, and outstanding. We were shown the outside area which was modern and contemporary, cannot fault anything and we will definitely revisit. Great staff, and owner was a great guy and helpful with our food choices.

I had two of my bestest and long term friends come and stay who I dont get to see often, they wanted to go somewhere nice for a meal and I didnt hesitate to book The Loft Sidmouth never have I had a bad meal or poor service here. Last night we went and they certainly did not disappoint! The restaurant was busy for a Wednesday and although short staffed they communicated this to us with politeness and a happy disposition. The meal was absolutely outstanding 👏 my friends ordered confit of duck and teriyaki salmon and I had prawn pappadele, compliments to the chef are an absolute must. The front of house service was brilliant with happy vibes and someone who has a small chat and makes you feel welcome. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend 👌 Thanks to all the hardworking team at the Loft. The food was so good I forgot to take a photo 📸!

Another tasty lunch with new owners. Menu to suit all tastes and appetites, we only had starters today but there’s a light appetite menu as well as a full menu with specials, and a kids menu. Already becoming popular in the evenings but it’s a great place for lunch too, sit by the window and “people watch” to the street below or sit on a secluded terrace enjoying the sunshine. Watch for their announcements as weekend breakfasts are starting soon too!

We ordered a takeaway, the staff we spoke to were lovely and delivery was prompt which was great. Unfortunately the food that arrived was not to our taste. Everything was dark brown, even the sweet and sour sauce! I can only presume it had all been doused in copious amounts of soy sauce. Unfortunately I was unable to eat more than a few mouthfuls of each dish ordered. I’m not usually one to leave a bad review, however I feel our £30 was totally wasted and wouldn’t want others trying this Chinese for the first time to be left disappointed and hungry as we have been. Real shame, as the staff we spoke to seemed lovely, just unfortunate the food let them down!

Nestled along the picturesque coastline, The Belmont Hotel is a charming Regency-era seaside retreat that exudes timeless elegance. With its traditional rooms—some featuring delightful balconies—the hotel offers guests a cozy atmosphere reminiscent of a bygone era. Visitors can indulge in exquisite dining experiences and enjoy afternoon tea while soaking in breathtaking sea views.
Just returned from an absolutely fantastic 4 nights here. Everything about this hotel is wonderful, but my biggest thanks go to the staff - the ladies on reception to the people serving behind the bar/serving food. NOTHING is too much trouble. Owners/managers - you have a perfect team.

This is a full afternoon tea review only. This is a great location and you overlook the seafront, the surroundings are comfortable and a bit old fashioned (I guess it suits the guests as 80 looked average…). The afternoon tea was unremarkable, lacking inspiration, not even competent really. The sandwiches were freshly made but lacked interest (just cucumber, plain smoked salmon, plain ham) only the egg was ‘tasty’. Scones with and without fruit - good. Cakes, only three types not dainty but like individual servings you would get it ordered with a hot drink (they were available to order like that). Carrot, crumbly, dry tasteless. Brownie, heavy and sticky. Raspberry tart, very nice but not at all subtle. We took the scones home we did not eat but left the cakes… The staff were excellent, toilets very good and clean, car parking very limited but level access for mobility.

From a well appointed, spacious room. Friendly, polite and attentive staff and good food. What can say other than when visiting Sidmouth or the surrounding area our choice of accommodation by far would be the Belmont Hotel. Thank you Belmont Hotel for making our autumn break most enjoyable.

Had a two night stay. Lovely breakfast but service was a little slow and my order was incorrect 3 times (it wasn't bad I just expected maybe a little more for 4*). I didn't feel as though we were important enough or that we had as much attention as others maybe because we chose not to have an evening meal. The afternoon tea was yummy. The waiters were perfectly lovely although at one point we had a rather unfortunate incident with a plate of toast being dropped on us totally by accident and sadly that meant crumbs everywhere including in our coffee. I visited the spa in the sister hotel next door which was fabulous and very quiet. We had amazing views and enjoyed watching various watersports in the sea. Interesting to note that everyone got extremely busy cleaning just before the big boss arrived and cauliflower soup was mentioned (iykyk)

Fabulous hotel, superbly positioned by the sea front and nice flat walk into Sidmouth town centre. Everything about this hotel is top notch. We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary here and would highly recommend it.

A wonderful, relaxed and inviting place to have an evening drink and take in the beautiful seafront views. All hotel staff were professional and friendly in their approach. Particular praise must be given to both Stewart and Larry who were notably personable, engaging and highly customer-focused, ensuring that our requests were met to a high and efficient standard. Thank you for making our visit to The Belmost so memorable and enjoyable. Hope to see you again.
Hayley G — Google review
The staff are excellent. Unfortunately the room was so small it was difficult to move around. The draws for clothes are so shallow they caused shirts and underwear to be crunched up. The soap dispensers in the shower have been installed for 6 feet plus people rendering them unusable. The hand shower control was so tight it was almost impossible to use. Overall a very disappointing experience

Fish and seafood restaurant
Neil's Restaurant, located just a short distance from the seafront, is a seafood lover's paradise. Chef Neil Harding crafts his menus based on the freshest catch of the day, ensuring that diners experience the best flavors of locally sourced seafood. The restaurant has recently reopened with reduced capacity and strict adherence to safety guidelines. With an informal and contemporary ambiance, it offers a three-course set price menu featuring popular dishes from its previous offerings.
Had a lovely meal at Neil's on 10th August. Small restaurant but as a consequence very personal service for the friendly and responsive staff. Atmosphere was relaxed and appropriate. We had some lovely seafood dishes made from fish landed that day. Menu differs each day as fish and seafood is so fresh. Would advise booking as it was full on the day we visited. I had main meal scallops perfectly cooked and tasty.

I’ve eaten at Neil’s Restaurant on a number of occasions, and it’s always been a fantastic experience. Neil, the chef, goes out of his way to please – my wife is dairy-free, and he created special dishes just for her. The restaurant is spotlessly clean, in a lovely location, and the staff are amazing: friendly, helpful, and very welcoming. All the fish and vegetables are locally sourced, and you can really taste the quality. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone

If you are looking for a seafood restaurant serving salmon, tuna, cod or prawn then this is not the place for you. The quality of the locally caught fish speaks for itself and it is truly cooked to perfection. While the fish is the star turn the quality of the desserts surprised me (in a good way). I only hope to find somewhere this good just a bit closer to home.

An eating experience is what we had. Friendly staff. Cleanliness that I couldn't fault. An amazing array of delicious seafood. For the quality of food served up, I'd say that Neil's pricing is spot on. Thank you to all at Neil's for making a good day GREAT.

Thoroughly enjoyed my meal at Neil's, lovely place with outstanding service, from walking in to leaving they do take care of you with smiles on their faces. The food is nothing short of amazing. I'm not mad on fish and had it twice and I'll definitely go back for more.!!! We have recently been back (2025) and as above everything is still magical and delicious!! What a special place to go for any occasion.

Nestled in the stunning Otter Valley of East Devon, Bicton Park Botanical Gardens is a treasure trove of horticultural history that spans nearly 300 years. Covering an impressive 64 acres, this enchanting park features a delightful mix of formal gardens and greenhouses, including the remarkable Palm House with its intricate glass design.
Pick a sunny day and you'll be in for a treat. Something to do and see for all age groups. Doggy friendly too. Plenty of seats to stop at and look. Little cafe/resturant allows dogs and good selection of foods. My coronation chicken sandwich was jammed full and delicious. Bonus for the older person is the country museum, it is second to none and full of nostalgia. Worth every penny and really enjoyed my day.

This is one of Devon's best-kept secrets. It is not a National Trust property, so it doesn't benefit from their exposure and marketing. It is truly a spectacular experience. If you want to appreciate all its wonderful trees, plants, different garden styles, and plant 🪴 houses, you could easily spend a few days here. This is a botanist's paradise with some of the rarest trees and plants from all across the globe. This garden is in the top 60 for species diversity and density worldwide. There are over 1500 different tree species alone, with many among the largest in the country. Among the many attractions are a miniature railway that will take you around the estate, a museum of horticultural artefacts, and a picturesque lake. If you are visiting the West Country, this is the one attraction you must visit. There's a cafe for refreshments but only a limited selection. If you are coming for a whole day ( recommended ), I would advise having a hearty breakfast beforehand.

This is a beautiful garden set in a landscaped area and dates back over 200 years. There is a charge to enter but you can easily spend a full day here exploring the different gardens and features. There is a narrow gauge train that takes you through the park and gardens with an additional charge but worth the cost. For younger members of the family, there is a soft play area which if you come with young children they provide a free pass and here you will also find refreshments. In the park you will find a Country museum which has some very interesting exhibits and audio visual displays. There is a good value cafe area with a wide selection of hot food and the obligatory Devon cream tea should you wish.

A beautifully maintained garden and grounds. So much interest especially the museum. Cafe serves a wide range of food and beverages at reasonable prices. Lots of activity areas for children. The miniature railway is well worth a ride for adults and children alike. Some lovely walks which are well signposted. Overall a really great place to visit.

We used to visit here when my children were young and it was great for them to return as adults. Expensive entry fee, but worth it if you can spend most of the day here. Beautiful gardens, arboretum and glasshouses. Shame the trees around the car park have been filled. Good food in the cafe but limited choice. Friendly and helpful staff. Absolutely wonderful collection of trees from around the world including some many national champions, veteran oaks, beeches, chestnut and others.

9 Oct - brilliant sunshine- fantastic staff - pleased to greet "recycled Teenagers" Why would'nt you buy an annual entrance ticket. The Italian gardens in splendid colours and manicured lawns, dahlia beds a picture. Yes, the Autumn sunshine enhanced the colours of trees, most notably, encouraged all visitors to be cheerful and friendly. Look forward to next visit.

£60 for a family of 4. Then you need to pay for the train on top and then the play barn on top of that. Value for money isn’t great. Gardens themselves were nice as you would expect. Sandwich was hideous. One mouthful and binned (coronation chicken - dry bread, tasteless sauce and dry tough chicken). Don’t waste £5.45!!!! on a sandwich. Rest of the food took nearly an hour to arrive (panini’s) but was ok. Safe to say we won’t be back again. If you do plan on coming bring your own food but note that benches are a bit limited and you can’t sit on the grass.

Sidmouth Golf Club is a hospitable and friendly club located in Devon, offering a challenging course with side slopes, changes in elevation, and tricky greens. The well-maintained course provides beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. Visitors can enjoy a corporate deal that includes a bacon roll and coffee, 18 holes of golf, and a delicious 2-course meal. The club's staff is known for being welcoming and friendly, making it an enjoyable place to play for both members and visitors alike.
A must play if staying near Sidmouth. The golf course is kept in great condition, the greens are excellent. The staff are welcoming and very helpful and they serve great food at good prices. A short course in yardage but plays much longer because of the hilly conditions. Definitely go back.

Lovely quirky little golf club with plenty of hills and par threes. Though only 5000 yards, the course is no push over. Spectacular views. Nice friendly clubhouse and great staff

First time we played here and won't be the last. Probably In the top 3 clubs I've played. We had a corporate deal with bacon roll and coffee, 18 holes, and a 2 course meal after. The food and the excellent service were great. The course was in great condition and very challenging. We will definitely be back soon. Another great game today and great food before and after at a good price. Always very welcoming.

Challenging undulating course with sloping fairways and tight greens that are tricky to land on in dry conditions. Some landscaping and drainage improvements since we last played… friendly staff.

The friendliest welcome in Devon and unique and quirky golf course. The course plays along the side of a hill so there's lots of side slopes and accuracy is at a premium. The greens were great, and a real challenge. And the views over Sidmouth and the Devon coast are magnificent.

Jacobs Ladder Beach Kiosk is a charming and exotic spot with a delightful tower cafe offering fabulous food and large cakes. It's a beautiful place to visit regardless of the weather, with relaxing walks down to Jacobs Ladder beach or nearby Chit Rocks. Visitors can also explore Connaught Gardens for peaceful surroundings and amazing views. The area offers plenty of chargeable parking, making it a great place to spend the day exploring.
A place of wonder and beauty. The sound of the sea on pebbles is a cleansing experience, well it was for me. Very charming with an oddly exotic tone. The tower cafe (think that's what it is called is a delight. The food was fab and the cakes are a sight for sore eyes, never seen such large cakes before. I had a rock bun the size of a small cake and it was the real thing. Lush.

A beautiful place regardless of the weather, so relaxing once walking down the steps onto Jacobs Ladder beach or nearby Chit Rocks, if you prefer, you could walk further upwards to see the most amazing views or even walk around the Connaught Gardens, so peaceful whatever you decide to do, plenty of chargeable parking close by too & a great place to spend the day exploring.

The Clock Tower in Sidmouth is a charming spot to unwind and enjoy delicious food and drinks. The tea rooms offer stunning views, especially from the tables up in the tower. Visitors can explore the gardens, take in the cliffside scenery, and even visit Jacobs Ladder nearby. While some found the menu limited to pre-made items like baguettes and sausage rolls, others appreciated the generous portions and tasty treats like carrot cake.
Wow! What an absolutely stunning cafe/reataurant! Location: Seaview hilltop with indoor & outdoor seating and beautiful gardens. Food: Big selection of freshly made cakes, baked & scones as well as a delicious hot & cold menu. I ordered the most delicious hot chocolate (the I’ve had personally) Customer service: outstanding 5* service, all of the staff are so friendly & welcoming. Met the owners who are the friendliest people. The place is clean, tidy even though it’s quite busy they keep up with the demand so well. Food & drinks came out in good time, views from the indoor & outdoor seating is so astonishing. It’s a local gem. HIGHLY recommend!
EAT-STAY-TRAVEL — Google review
First visit to this café and can’t believe we’ve never been before, truly a hidden gem. Beautiful views from the seating area inside of the sea and red cliffs (not included to protect fellow customer privacy) and a lovely little garden with seating outside. It was quite busy, we were lucky to be able to snag a table inside on lower floor but there is more seating upstairs. As it was busy we could tell the staff were in a hurry taking orders etc but everyone we interacted with were perfectly pleasant and friendly despite the rush. I can understand some might not like feeling rushed but it was so busy and is quite a small space by the tills I don’t know what else you expect. We really liked our food, cakes and bakes all looked so good and the ones we got tasted amazing. Not the cheapest but generous portions and clearly fresh and perfectly made. We’ll definitely be back 😊

Nice cafe with stunning views. Cakes are delicious and the service is very good. It is dog friendly place. When we were there at least two clients came with their dogs. The cafe offers nice seating options outside, in the garden itself
Il D — Google review
This cafe and location are breathtaking and the outside and indoor seating let you enjoy both. We ordered an English breakfast tea, Cappuccino, flat white and hot chocolate. The hot chocolate can with a choice of dark, white or milk and all the drinks were perfect! There were plenty of cakes but we opted for the scone, Victoria sponge and raspberry and white chocolate blondie. The portions were satisfying and the raspberries in the blondie were full or flavour. Staff were friendly and attentive and the seating inside and outside was comfortable. Will definitely be returning when in the area.
Elias S — Google review
Neat little cafe. Nicely presented seating in conservatory with coastal view and sunny outdoor walled gardens. Glad they served matcha. Generous sized pieces of cake, but the pistachio cake had too much almond essence for my liking. Coffee and walnut cake definitely recommended!
Golden B — Google review
There can be no denying that the Clock Tower serves up some fantastic food in a fantastic setting - with incredible views. But it was the service today that left a bit of sour taste for us. Walking into the empty cafe, there were no less than five staff behind the counter, and not a single customer in sight. Whether the café had just opened or not, I’ve no idea, but we stood there waiting like lemons to be served or for any sort of acknowledgement. We even contemplated walking away. Even if not ready for us, a quick “bear with us” would have made the world of difference - and would have been preferred to being ignored entirely. Understandably, food and drinks are paid for in advance, and staff asked us to choose a tip amount. The quality of service wasn’t deserving of a tip, however. The food was very good and the prices acceptable. But based on the less than brilliant service, we would be unlikely to return.

As usual as per our at least annual visits to Sidmouth, a visit to the Clock Tower (CT)represents a highlight and must do each trip. Situated within the beautiful Connaught gardens with their abundance and wide range of flowers, The CT provides the perfect place to relax with good coffee, tea( wide range of choice) and delicious cakes, before or after ( or both) a walk around the fauna or for the more adventurous, a walk down Jacob's ladder to the sandy beach with waves lapping onto the red sands. Equally welcoming if the tides out are the numerous rock pools to explore and very large expanse of sand to enjoy, children especially love the experience. The CT is perfectly placed to offer respite at any point during your day at the seaside, offering a wide array of home baked cakes, scones and savouryfoodstuffs that will delight any connoisseur of tasty fare. I love good coffee and that's guaranteed here.

A stunning venue with a wonderful view of the coast. Lovely staff who were very helpful. A great menu with plenty of veggie and vegan options. I was slightly disappointed to find the "vegan breakfast " had drastically changed from years previous which I had held as the best breakfast I'd had (especially missing the homemade beans), with a better description now being scrambled tofu and mushrooms on toast. Having said food was still nice, and would fully recommend to anyone in the local area and can't wait to visit again.

Connaught Gardens is a stunning public park located at the western end of Sidmouth's seafront. Maintained by the East Devon District Council and local horticultural group Sidmouth in Bloom, these gardens offer endless opportunities for photographers with their beautiful landscapes. Accessible via the South West Coast Path, these ornate gardens were established in the 1820s and provide magnificent views of the Jurassic Coast from atop the hill.
A wonderful hidden gem in Sidmouth It's a great walk from along the seafront from the town either go up the hill or or up to steps. I recommend up hill past the hotels the garden is in the left side. We always go clockwise and then down the steps and back to the town alone the beach walk. The garden is really well done with lots of history great plants and stunning views. Also a great restaurant as a bonus. Highly recommend

Sidmouth beach is a brilliant place at anytime of the day. It varies between pebbles and sand as the tide rises and falls and the views, especially at sunset and sunrise are spectacular. I also sighted two dolphins swimming about 200 yards off the beach but they swam back and forth for a full twenty minutes. Dolphins in the wild. Incredible. The sea is still fairly warm in October and a swim will help your body and brain regenerate it's power and throw off the fug of normal life.

Sidmouth Town Beach is a delightful gem nestled in the charming seaside town of Sidmouth, Devon. This beach is a favorite spot for picnics, where you can savor your sandwiches while listening to the soothing sounds of waves gently lapping at the shore. On sunny summer days, it buzzes with activity as families spread out their towels and enjoy quality time together. The beach features large pebbles interspersed with sandy patches that emerge when the tide recedes, particularly near Jacobs Ladder.
Sidmouth, must be one of my favorite seaside towns, always very clean and immaculately kept. Fantastic assortment of shops plus plenty of nice places for food and drink,a lot of towns could learn a lot from how this looks and how it's run, well done Sidmouth. Revisited July 2022.

This is a nice wide beach with nice laid back atmosphere with some decent shops. Plenty for all the family to do including body boarding and surfing in high season. There is also the Jacob’s laser and also some nice gardens to stroll around or have a picnic added to this parking is not too expensive and can also get some free street parking if out of season or early.

Really lovely day here. From Kent , so was only a visitor passing through. But along promenade bit there are buskers dotted about singing every genre it felt like. Market was lovely. Couple of stalls I really wish I’d come back to. Seemed to be a few more locals about here. You know who’s local with how friendly they are and willing to give information and local advice. We’d wanted to walk along the bit that’s closed off at mo. Obviously we wouldn’t have gone in there as was closed off but a local man did just explain it was closed due to cliff falls in recent weather and that we’d be better off the opposite end of the town. We did walk up to the other end (not far) and had a lovely time (even saw some Morris dancers)

This is a great seaside town with a lovely beach it is mainly large pebbles but there is some sand when the tide goes out towards the Jacobs ladder end...The beach always looks clean,we actually see some locals litter picking...Well done you,it a shame that there is litter to pick up in the first place there are a lot of people in this country that do not respect our beautiful island and leave rubbish everywhere they go..I would love to dump it back in there gardens...Now back to the beach the sea is lovely and clear also...Overall a great place to visit......Another visit on a very stormy day,as you will see by my photos the sea was quite rough throwing sand and pebbles across the promenade....With people and children standing there and getting soaking wet.....A bit silly if you ask me as they could have been hit on the head with some of th pebbles being thrown into the air....

Christmas eve had a day trip to Sidmouth and popped into the hotel for a special lunch. We had a Christmas dinner x 3 and a relaxing drink in the bar before our lunch. The owner (I assume) greeted us and the staff were spot on with their service. The dining room was so relaxed and food was great. Note for the owner to take on board as i assume the hotel has a non smoking policy. we were having our drinks in the bar and the owner was smoking by the back door letting all the smoke into the bar. This wasn't very pleasant experience as we are not smokers. Not good. All smokers even the owner should be well outside to consider other hotel guests in future. We will be back as we did have a lovely experience overall, and will look at deals to stay even though we are an hour away.

This hotel has declined as they cut corners. Something never done by the previous owners. The owners need to read their audience more accurately. It is quite marked that numbers of visitors have declined. They need to look to previous successful practice. It would be such a pity if the business failed.

The gardens are well-maintained and easily accessible, with level paths and ample seating. Once part of a private estate, the area boasts colorful flower borders, wooded paths, and interesting historical information near the entrance. Visitors can enjoy the tranquil ambiance, diverse flora, and spacious lawns just minutes away from the town center.
This was at Sidmouth Festival inside a marquee. There were some very interesting stalls outside the marquee. We had a great view inside the marquee.

Discovered these pretty and well-kept little gardens while exploring Sidmouth. They are close to the parish church, more accessible than nearby Connaught Gardens, with level tarmac paths and no steps. Plenty of benches. The gardens were once part of a private estate, and there's some interesting information near the entrance about their history and that of the now demolished Blackmore Hall. There are lawns, colourful flower borders, wooded paths, a small conservatory and car parking close by. A tranquil little place to enjoy some relaxation away from the bustle of the town centre.

The Norman Lockyer Observatory is a historical site that serves as a hub for amateur astronomy, meteorology, radio astronomy, and science education. Situated on the hills between Sidmouth and Salcombe, this observatory offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy informative talks, planetarium presentations, and explore historic telescopes and technology. With its location in an area with minimal light pollution, it provides an ideal setting for observing planets and cosmic bodies through telescopes dating back nearly two centuries.
A great day out. Really friendly volunteers and staff. Historic instruments, and a great atmosphere. A shame I'm not closer or I would visit more often.

What a super interesting evening. I came on the public open day. All staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The night sky was clear with a number of different telescopes 🔭 looking at different parts of the night sky. The tour was fantastic looking back at the historical telescopes. Planetarium was probably my favourite part of the evening. It’s definitely worth the visit. Highly recommended. Thank you 🙏
Malcolm P — Google review
Great for a visit whether a family or by yourself there is a lot of history to learn about and be part of, alongside taking part in active observing if the weather is clear using Victorian and modern telescopes even if overcast touring all the detecting equipment at the Lockyer Technology Centre can be just as exciting! It’s also fantastic place to join up as a member for an annual fee, you can meet and get to know the other members and become part of the fabric of the observatory absorbing information from the members events; talks and observing workshops just to mention a few and perhaps becoming one of the volunteers during the open evening explaining how the site mixes it Victorian and modern day equipment from an orrery to a muon detector! I would be bias in saying this was probably the top attraction in East Devon and a hidden gem in the South West overall being a volunteer at the NLO but it’s true :)

A great visit to observatory! Thanks a lot to Alex, who showed telescopes, history and planetarium! What a lovely, interesting and inspiring trip for me and my son!

Visited the public observatory tour and perseid meteorshower evening while on holiday. It consisted of a planetarium, lecture, tours of the telescopes and technology center, stories around a campfire and of course some stargazing. Was a clear night so got to see a good few shooting stars even caught one on the mobile phone. Staff there were very knowledgeable and they have some amazing kit there. The whole event was very interesting and great for my daughter too. Would highly recommend going to one of their evenings.

Got so much value from the tour. Only £10 and we were there for over 3 hours. There were some presentations, got to look through 2 telescopes, other monitoring systems in the technology centre and learned lots about the history of the place

Sidmouth Museum is a small but fascinating museum located in the heart of Sidmouth, housed in a charming old Regency house next to the parish church. It offers an exploration of the town's history from its days as a tiny fishing village to its current status as a popular seaside destination. The museum boasts an extensive collection of Regency and Victorian items, costumes, lace, early paintings, prints, photographs, as well as rocks, fossils and footprints from the Jurassic Coast.
Spent a very interesting hour and a half in this museum. It's located right in the centre of Sidmouth, in a delightful old Regency house next to the parish church, and is run entirely by volunteers. Paid just £2.50 admission (under 16's can visit for free). There are two floors, but only the ground floor is wheelchair accessible. Although the museum is only small, there was a great deal for me to see. Both floors were packed with artefacts, photographs and information about Sidmouth and its history from the age of the dinosaurs to the present day. There were archaeological finds, items salvaged from shipwrecks, railway artefacts and a World War II gallery. Was really fascinated with the excellent collection of fossils and prehistoric footprints. I also loved the exquisite Honiton lace. Everything was clearly labelled, and there were some good interactive displays. The two volunteers were very friendly and showed a great interest in their museum and its exhibits. We had a chat and I learned some interesting facts about Sidmouth. There were also books for sale at the entrance. A must-see for anyone who loves local history!

Attended a wedding here. Fab venue for small and medium functions. Several meeting and function rooms and a bar on the lower ground floor. Historic building with long a history, all documented on info boards inside. Bookings are available. A lift operates on all the floors, so ideal for the less abled.

Lovely venue for a private party, friendly staff who go out of their way to be helpful. The building itself is lovely, spacious and airy but small enough to provide an intimate venue for all sorts of events. There's a lot going on the rest of the time, always worth popping in to find out what's on!

My Husband and I were recently married at Kennaway House on 3rd September 2022. Our Special day was magical from start to finish. Nikki the manager of the house allowed myself the bride to get ready at Kennaway before the ceremony. We had a photographer and videographer there to capture the preparation of me getting my hair done and dressed. Once I was ready, soon after the guests started to arrive and it gave me the chance to see them all without them knowing. Being able to get ready at the house meant so much to me. I think it settled the grooms nerves too knowing I was there ready to make my grand entrance. We celebrated our whole day at the house using the cellar for our wedding breakfast and reception in the evening. Doing this made our day run so smoothly. Our guests even told us that our wedding was the best they had ever been to. The venue is so close to the seafront and Connaught Gardens that we managed to slip away for a short amount of time, to get some private photos taken with our photographer and videographer. We can't recommend Kennaway House enough for the perfect place in Sidmouth to be married. Thank you so much Nikki and Kennaway House for having us. Mr & Mrs Mitchell

We had our wedding ceremony at Kennaway house in September 2020. I can't rate it highly enough. Nikki was so welcoming and helpful, paying such attention to detail. The house itself is beautiful and perfect for photos. We didn't want a big room that our small number of guests would be swamped by and it was just perfect. There was full disabled access and parking too which was important for us and the Devon Registrars ceremony was brilliant. A total hidden gem, particularly for smaller weddings.

Jacob’s Ladder beach, Sidmouth

4.8
(129)
Jacob’s Ladder beach, located in Sidmouth, is the sandy western end of the town's mostly pebbled beach. It is backed by steep cliffs that provide shelter from the breeze and boasts a large expanse of sand with numerous rock pools to explore during low tide. Accessible via a level path from the town's main beach or through wooden steps from Connaught Gardens, this picturesque spot offers great photo opportunities, especially during the morning when the sun makes the cliffs glow beautifully.
Believe it or not, this wooden staircase connecting the beach path to the clifftop Connaught Gardens is a Grade II listed building! It was constructed in the 19th century and replaced a stairway cut into the cliff that had eroded away. I reached it by way of a scenic beachside path that begins at the western end of the prom. It's an open staircase, easy enough to climb though daunting to anyone who doesn't like heights as you can see right down to the ground through the gaps in the stairs as you ascend (not the case when you're coming down, it just feels like walking down three ordinary flights of steps). The view of the coastline when you reach the top is spectacular. There's a takeaway built into the cliff near the foot of Jacob's Ladder where you can get homemade sandwiches, pasties, ice-cream and drinks. Perfect for a picnic on the beach! They also do ice-cream for dogs. There's an alternative, more accessible route up to the gardens if you can't manage the staircase.

Nice beach lovely this time of year. Just been downtown and it was busy and beach was filling up. Couldn’t take many photos as I was on my motorcycle so the picture with boat in is at the other end of beach at the Ham and the other photo is at the top of Jacob’s ladder looking over the beach and town.
Paul S — Google review
Pebble beach surrounded by red soil cliffs, which are extremely dangerous at times due to rock falls. However, the east end of the beach is safe. Gentle slope into the sea, with a beautiful feeling of the Mediterranean or even Lake Como. Warm water in Summer too. Our visit was wonderful and we felt as though we were on holiday despite living only six miles away. Clock Tower Cafe is up some steep steps/ladder at the far east end, past the beach huts. A thoroughly enjoyable time here early morning but beware that it may get extremely busy at times. A fantastic beach however!

Absolutely breathtaking. Pebble beach leading to sandy beach. My dog had a wonderful time, playing with other dogs and dipping in the rock pools. The colours of the red cliffs are absolutely mesmerising. I will certainly may be back.

Karina K — Google review
Stunning scenery, coastline, cliffs and beautiful gardens all within easy walking distance. The beauty of this area is second to none. The glorious Jurassic coast laid bare as far as the eye can see and a beautiful walk, either above the beach on the cliffs for those who don't mind a hilly adventure. Or a beautiful pebbly walk along the far stretching beach. The famous white steps which lend their name to this amazing place lead up to the wonderful Connaught Gardens, where old and young alike can enjoy a stroll or explore the different areas, all interconnected by well kept pathways and secret entrances. The gardens are stunningly well maintained and are a visual treat year round. The views of the coast are amazing from here and there are numerous benches where one can take a pitstop. And if all this is not enough to entice a visit, the amazing Clocktower Cafe, to be found within the gardens is worth a visit on its own. The views from this small but well run establishment are possibly the best views a cafe could claim to have, beautifully framed by the quaint arched windows and the decor is a delight. And as for the food... It is reasonably priced and of a very high standard, using locally sourced products where possible. And on to their cake counter.... I could not possibly describe here the mouthwatering, seemingly mile high cakes that are on display. All manner of delights and the only downside is trying to choose which one to have! The staff here are very personable and although busy, always go the extra mile to provide a friendly service. We went after 4pm and sadly the upstairs was closed but eating a piece of cake looking out across the cliffs, pebbles and sea is most certainly food for the soul as well as the stomach. ❤️

Mutter's Moor Car Park is an ideal starting point for various walking opportunities, offering both challenging and shorter routes. The location provides a varied walk through lovely woodlands with occasional views of Sidmouth and the surrounding areas. Additionally, it offers access to the cliffs and coast path between Sidmouth and Ladram Bay. The car park is free but has a stoney surface, making it unsuitable for wheelchairs. It also features dog waste bins as its only facility.
Had a lovely walk with family, it was a lovely day & met friendly people in passing. Just a pity some paths were inaccessible because of water logged paths. 🥺🥺

What a thrill! One of the foremost carparks in the Sidmouth area. Mind the unsurfaced entrance and exit, particularly in inclement weather. Plenty of spaces here. If you are lucky, and visit on the right kind of night, you might hear one of the Nightjars nesting nearby. Delightful.

The Chattery is a popular British cafe known for its wonderful Full English breakfast experience. It has a loyal following for its food and friendly service. While some visitors find the coffee average, others praise the quality produce of their ham and cheese toastie, sausage and bacon sandwich, and chips. The cafe is recommended as a great spot to visit while exploring Sidmouth.

This is a review of the coffee only, not food. I had heard this place was really popular and going by the amount of people going in here, I thought I'd hit caffeine jackpot. The coffee was average at best and there are other cafes in Sidmouth that do better coffee. I think everybody is going in here for the food value. They were friendly and helpful and they have a loyal following obviously for their food. But for a great coffee brew, I guess I'll keep looking

If I could give zero stars, I would. Ordered a warm tuna mayo baguette. The baguette was lukewarm at best, tuna was obviously straight out the tin and freezing cold and absolutely no sign of any mayonnaise. I took the item back to the waitress who didn't apologise and was rather indifferent. The item was taken back to the kitchen and "warmed up", for it to still be cold. I was absolutely starving and couldn't be bothered at this point to return it again for it to still be cold. Would not recommend this place at all, much nicer places in Sidmouth to eat! Response to owner: Thank you for your reply. I can assure you it was lukewarm, perhaps if you were there on the day then this could have been confirmed by yourself but alas, you were not. I can also assure you that the baguette when returned after being "warmed up" was not hot so please do not insult me by suggesting that I am unable to tell when something is cold. I think it would be best if you were to review your menus and change the items to cold baguettes since you and your staff are unable to serve hot food as advertised. I did address the issue at the time but feel that I shouldn't, as the customer, have to highlight an issue multiple times when it shouldn't have happened in the first place. Thank you again for your reply and hopefully you make improvements so that your other customers don't have to pay for poor quality food and service.

We were visiting the area on Easter Sunday, so was really pleased to find they were open. Plenty of seating inside and out. Lovely little cafe with friendly staff. The food was delicious, the coffee fantastic and the location great. Away from the busy and more expensive sea front. Located in the centre of town with disabled access and street parking nearby. I always advocate moving away from the tourist hot spots to find these little gems.

Incredible experience! Delicious food!! We has an amazing my range of fresh, tasty seafood which was very reasonably priced. Definitely the highlight ✨Drinks were also great, stocking a mixture of local and well-known for everyone to enjoy. Service staff were friendly, professional, and accommodating. Went in the middle of folk festival week, and we still got a table with no reservation! We asked to move into the shade from our original table after getting our drinks, and they were happy to fulfil this request. Overall, a great experience and value for money!

Delicious food and very nice service. I didn’t like my table(37) but it seems that people dining alone are put on this table. I asked for the one behind which although was for 4 was unoccupied and not reserved. A waiter said no quite abruptly that it would be filled, I left at 7.15 and the table was still empty, along with 3 other tables for 2 people. I come to Dukes frequently and really enjoy my experience but I don’t ever like the table I am constantly being given. Is this the single person table?

I stayed one night with my son as we were walking on the coast path. We were given room 2 for which we paid £194 for. There were a number of issues with this room. The room has one opaque window as per picture that looks out onto a noisy extractor fan which means the window needs to be kept closed. You can also hear noises from the kitchen below. This means that the room is dark, stuffy and noisy. The bed is a small double which was far too small for us to sleep comfortably. As a result of all of the above, I had a very poor night's sleep. The food was expensive and average. The one positive was the service at breakfast which was cheerful and efficient. The hotel should either not be using this room for guests or providing a warning on the issues and charging appropriately.

The Marine in Sidmouth, United Kingdom is known for serving the best pizza in town. The restaurant offers a warm and friendly welcome, with polite staff and a dog-friendly environment. The outdoor seating area provides great views, making it an ideal spot to enjoy tap beers, real ales, and craft beers. The interior features wooden floors and tasteful decor, creating a cozy atmosphere.
The food was delicious! The pizza wasn’t floppy or greasy at all, it was perfectly saucy and it was such a good afternoon munch. Brody was a wonderfully funny dude to talk to at the bar and his service was efficient and spot on! Courtney was the sweetest and most friendly waitress to get served by and made the place feel so much more welcoming. The restaurant was so clean and inviting, every seat looked comfortable and my partner and I had no issue feeling welcome. Fantastic place, would recommend. Absolutely 5 stars!

Me and my partner had a lovely meal together late on a Thursday evening. The service was great and the food was absolutely delicious. We had the pulled pork burger and pork belly which was piping hot and melted in your mouth. Can’t fault the food at all! Good portions size for pricing also! Thank you guys for a lovely evening meal 🥰

The Marine is actual heaven on earth. From the moment you walk in, you feel like you’ve stepped into a coastal sanctuary. Every detail is thoughtful, every corner photogenic, and the vibe? Immaculate. The cocktails are divine, the seafood is so fresh it practically tells you its name. By far the best food in Sidmouth. Hands-down. And can we talk about the service? Warm, attentive, and just the right level of chill. Now… let’s not ignore the obvious. The owner? Distractingly good-looking. But even beyond the aesthetics, there’s a magnetic energy in how this place is run- confident, welcoming, and wildly well done. If you’re debating whether to go, let this be your sign. Book the table. I’ll be back. Probably weekly.

We booked a table at The Marine and was definitely not disappointed. The service from the two gentlemen was excellent from the time of arrival until we left. I had the mussels to start which was really nice and then the belly pork. I can honestly say that's the best pork I've had , the sauce was amazing . My husband had the soup and then fish & chips which he really enjoyed and said he definitely would order again . The restaurant is in a great location .

After last nights abysmal meal, we chose to try the Marine for our last night here. We'd drink there every other day and always received excellent service. So...we booked in for a meal. As is the way in Sidmouth, at 7.15 the bar was full, and the staff working efficiently. We ordered the prawn and crayfish cocktail for starters, I had the lemon sole for main, hubby had the trip of Brixham fish...gunard, John dory and sole....with new and sautéed potatoes, lemon hollandaise sauce and caper sauce. The retro prawn cocktail was excellent, fresh prawns and crayfish tails, crisps salad, great sauce and lovely warm granary bread. The mains. ..my lemon sole and seasonal veg was delicious, hubby's trio was delicious, with only the gunard slightly overcooked. For dessert we had the treacle tart and biscoffe cheesecake. Both too good...and too calorific. If you visit Sidmouth..come here ..sit outside during the day and enjoy the wonderful view, in the evening dine here. It's well worth it. Finally, I must mention Brody the manager. He and his colleague handle the whole bar and front of house between them with skill, professionalism, humour and a ready smile. Worth the journey here alone!

Had the Brill fish with new potatoes and caper butter and it was perfect. My sister had the fish & chips and they were hands down the best chips we’d ever eaten; crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. The chef knows how to cook fish beautifully, so do yourself a favour and get there if you’re in Sidmouth.

Sidmouth Takeaway Pizza House, located in Kingston upon Hull, has been a go-to spot for locals and visitors alike for the past five years. While they are known for their delicious pizzas, they also offer a great variety of other food options to cater to different tastes. Customers have praised the quality of the food and the friendly service provided by the lovely manager and staff.
Had a slight issue today with delivery but they sorted it immediately. Top service, top food, top guys! Thankyou to you all! Highly recommended.

Stay away from this place, it's dirty, everything is sticky with grease. The fish and chips are disgusting, old and frozen, the fries are underbaked. I have never eaten such bad fish and chips anywhere else.

So this is the second time I've been to this takeaway. The first time I had a kebab and pizza and it was generally very good. However after reading the reviews of the fish and chips I decided to go for cod and chips. The chips were very good but I ordered a large portion (to share) and I would say there were fewer chips than I'd expect in most regular portions. They didn't even cover the bottom of the container they were put in. The fish was awful. Very dense and tough cod, with a thick coating of batter on one side, and none on the other side which meant that the fish inside had been annihilated by the hot oil and was brown and crispy and virtually inedible. I did go very early in the evening, just after they open so it was possible that they weren't up to full capacity and maybe rushed the order. My daughter had a plain sausage (good) and curry sauce (also very nice).

Been here a few times before and never had problems but this time was different , firstly they messed up my order charging me an extra 2.50 on top of the 7.70 just for a sprinkle of cheese , when a regular cheesy chips is 3.90 . I complained and had a response that was very rude , most takeaways around the area offer much better food and price . The takeaway is very un hygienic , will not be returning very disappointed.

Have been using this Takeaway for the past five years, mainly pizzas, which we love, but other food when we have guests. Very rarely disappointed with quality, (well, no-one's perfect), service always good, and friendly. Have recommended to many friends. Always happy to come back for more!

Fish and chips by the sea is a holiday tradition, but most of this food ended up in the bin. Fish was horrible, definitely would not recommend.
