Visitors can enjoy skiing with stunning views, including Mont Blanc, amidst heavy snowfall. The area also offers excellent dining options and shopping facilities.
This place is wow. Here for the last few days and few more days to go. It has not disappointed in any possible way. Amazing place, amazing skiing and great location. Skies withESF. Bad ass always. Out instructed, Lucas is bad ass first year and has a patient of a saint. He is a great instructor. Wanted to just do free slope and did blue slope. Skied to the highest point and skied all the way down. Bad ass. Will highly recommend this place and the skiing……

Day trip on a rather busy weekday in mid february (carnival holidays). Here a detailed review: -Arrival: I parked at the funicular in Bourg St. Maurice around 8:30am. To my surprise the car park was almost empty and only cost around 3€ a day. Very easy to reach, no long winding difficult road up the mountain. I bought a day ski pass for Les Arcs, which was just 63€ (initially wanted to explore whole Paradiski but since it was so busy I decided against). Skì area: The ski area is gigantic (even without counting the La Plagne connection). With the funicular you first arrive at Mt. Blanc chairlift, which has great runs to warm up. Towards Arpette it began to become more crowded. The area around Arc2000, Varet and Arcabulle were the busiest: the ski rund (especially the easy ones) were packed and the lift lines were long. Varet (25min) and Aiguille Rouge (45min) had the longest lines. The fact that they even had extra queues for skischools and "fast pass" remids me of waiting for a roller coaster. The trip to Aiguille Rouge is worth it: you have a fantastic view and a super long descend, with lots of variety, down to Villaroger. The villaroger area is much calmer. The droset black run is a good challenge (as well as the black runs starting from Varet). The grand col runs are a bit more hidden and fun but still highly frequented. The runs around Arcabulle are very wide and you have lots of space. Totally recommend to have a drink at the igloo bar near arcabulle. There is also a long sledding run that seems fun. The west side ski runs (Vallandry, Arc1800) were not as crowded. The ski runs at Vallandry are nice, You have many fun forest runs. The red combe is fun and more quiet. At Arc1800 you have wide long forest runs with beginner areas and terrain parks. I also liked that there are easy runs connecting every area, so you easy returned to the funicular. Ski lifts: Loved that the area is so easy to reach by funicular. I liked that they had a more modern bubble chairlifts like in Tignes. Some lifts like Varet, Aiguille Rouge or Pre Saint Esprit couldnt handle the masses of people. Verdict: ++ huge ski area ++ easy to reach + variety of runs, lots of easy but also challenging runs + long Aigulle Rouge run + good ski pass price + lots of other activities (zipline, sledding, paragliding) -- crowded runs, lines at the lifts, long traffic jams to get to Bourg St. Maurice on weekends (dont visit during french, british, dutch holidays)

We went a week in a cottage near Les Arcs. Good hiking and mountain biking trails all around the mountain.
Tomi R — Google review
Love its incredible view of the Alps. The resort provides a great variety of slopes and restaurants in general are good (though usually overpriced). Can’t give it five stars because of its ridiculous shuttle between villages. If you missed your last lift back to the side of your village, expect to spend 2 or more hours waiting for/standing in a crowded shuttle bus. Not a good skiing experience at all.
Alex L — Google review
Huge area to ski in, high altitude loads of snow even in april, very child friendly, super selection of restaurants stunning scenery. Been twice and will go again, my favourite place to ski!
Timothy G — Google review
Really love this place it's big. Good for beginners and experienced and kids. You can easily stay in Bourg Saint Maurice and go up by the funiculair. Go to restaurant la ferm in villaroger when skiing. Get a plate du Jour at the sunny terrasse. Best restaurant when skiing. Will definitely be back.
Sabrina S — Google review
We've been a few times, in both winter and summer, and explored all the local towns. 1950 is our favourite place of Les Arcs. Great for skiing and walking. Lots if activities for kids, too.
Eleanor B — Google review
Typically French ski area, but undeniably one of the best hi-altitude resorts in the world. The ski lift system is supported by the French government and is designed and planned amazing well with awesome uphill capacity meaning you hardly ever have to queue for a lift even when the resort is busy. Some of the Arcs are what I would call French brutalistic alpine architecture, they are purpose built going back to the 1970s/80s. Arc 1950 is like a Disney version of an alpine village but cute none the less. The French are generally good humoured and great fun to be around, food is of course excellent at every price point, but don't expect this to be cheap 2000m up a mountain. All in all definitely worth a visit.

Sights & Landmarks
Lookouts
Aiguille Rouge is a stunning mountain in the Les Arcs-Peisey-Vallandry area, reaching 3,226 meters. It offers dramatic views and can be accessed by a cable car for skiing and hiking. The mountain features the eponymous black-then-red run, one of Europe's longest at 7km, leading to the village of Villaroger.
Aiguille Rouge Cable Car – Epic views, alpine drama, and a footbridge for the brave Riding the Aiguille Rouge cable car is like being handed a VIP pass to the top of the world—after waiting in a queue that feels like a ski-themed theme park ride. But once you’re crammed into that bright red cabin and lifted to 3,226 meters, all the grumbling fades. Because what’s waiting at the top? Pure, unfiltered Alpine glory. And then there’s La Passerelle—a 35-meter-long metal mesh footbridge that stretches out into the sky like someone said, “Let’s build a catwalk for mountain goats.” You can see straight through the floor, the wind whistles through your jacket, and your knees suddenly remember they have opinions. It’s not for the faint-hearted, but it’s absolutely worth it. From up there, you get panoramic views of Mont Blanc, the Vanoise massif, and your own insignificance in the face of nature. And if you’re feeling bold, you can launch yourself down one of Europe’s longest ski runs—7 kilometers of pure descent to Villaroger. No pressure. Sure, you need to book a time slot, and yes, it gets crowded. But honestly? It’s one of those rare touristy things that actually lives up to the hype.

Stupendous views and great runs -a red and a black. Black particularly good. Great snow quality but the red can get busy just at the top. Picnic tables, viewing platforms, interesting information boards about the National Park, its plants and animals. Two Yuge cameras (link your lift pass to the Yuge app and on scanning the pass you can have your photo taken, which then can be seen and shared from the app). Our firm favourite in Les Arcs and highly recommended.
O R — Google review
Amazing place. On a good day you will have a 360 degrees view of the Alps till your eyes can see. The red slope going down from the top has one or two steep parts but nothing that a half-decent red slope skier cannot handle. Just don't look over the edges on the sides if you are quite scared of heigths.
John S — Google review
Just magical. This view you can only find in few places in the world!
Fernando F — Google review
Take a cable car ride up to the top to experience the most beautiful view.
A G — Google review
Very high up, impressively high and an amazing engineering accomplishment. Visited in April and it was a chilly 3°C. Skiing down the Glacier du Varet was very pleasant and the snow was good even unlike the slush further down in the valley. Great views, especially on Mont Blanc. Although it was very pleasant up top, there are no toilets at the top, it is frequently closed in winter due to strong winds and there are long queues very often onto the cable car that takes one up. Would recommend, but come prepared for no café or toilet.
Timothy L — Google review
Amazing view, it can take you some time toget to the top with the lift, but it was definitely worth it

Wonderful views. Strong winds, very cold. Skiing down was relatively straight forward not too icy either. Would visit again on a clear day.

(Translated by Google) Very good laser game. The host is super friendly and explains all the safety rules well. From the first part the play area is restricted and expands throughout the 15 minute game because the areas are modular and each is unique. The second part is in teams (2 to 4 teams) and also lasts 15 minutes. The teams are organized according to the results of the first part in order to be homogeneous. I came with my 8 year old son and he loved it. We had a great time. (Original) Très bon laser game. L'animateur est super sympa et explique bien toutes les règles de sécurité. A rather disconcerting person at first glance, due to his very deep voice and his skater look. But a person very close to his customers, who knows his work and above all who explains very well how his laser game works. A very clean and hygienic laser game. The first 15 minutes, we are individually against the 20 other people present, followed by a rather humorous debriefing with the manager and finally the last 15 minutes as a team. L'Escale Gourmande is a delightful dining destination that truly captures the essence of regional cuisine. Guests rave about the delicious offerings, including standout dishes like croziflette and magret de canard aux myrtilles, alongside traditional favorites such as tartiflette and raclette. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, thanks to the friendly owner who ensures every visitor feels welcome.
So happy with this place and the owner is so friendly and observant to her customers. Went two New Years Eve’s 2023/2024 as the hospitality is genuinely. Food good and slightly different from the standard cuisine and not an overpriced NYE special like many locations. Upstairs and window tables recommended. Would go bk 2025 NY if we ski again.

Great dinner! The croziflette and the "magret de canard aux myrtilles" were really good. The tartiflette was nice too but a tad below in my opinion. The "fondant au chocolat" was outstanding 😛. We had a Côte du Rhône which was great — it can't be bad when it's from Chapoutier! The woman owning the place is very welcoming and easy going. Her husband seems to be in charge of beverages

Restaurant La Tartiflette offers a mouth-watering dish called "La Tartiflette," which consists of gratinated potatoes, white wine, Reblochon cheese, onions, and smoked salt pork. This hearty winter dish is baked until the cheese is golden and gooey. The restaurant also serves delicious raclette at a great price along with a variety of other menu options. Customers have praised the friendly service and recommended dishes such as the Charolaise steak and molten chocolate dessert.
A respectable restaurant with a large menu and decent food. The prices are good and I did enjoy my steak. Props to the waiter who handled the entire front of house by himself on a busy Easter Sunday!

Our experience at this restaurant was disappointing from the beginning. Although the restaurant was not busy, we were initially refused a table. The hostess stated that only tables for three or four people were available, even though we observed multiple two-person tables occupied by solo diners. The reasoning felt arbitrary and unwelcoming. After we were finally seated, I ordered a steak, which was unfortunately served overcooked. When I mentioned the issue, the waitress showed no interest in resolving it. Throughout the meal, she checked on other tables and engaged with other guests — yet never once approached our table to ask how we were doing or if we needed anything. The only redeeming part of the service was a male server who was polite and professional. However, the overall lack of courtesy and care left a lasting negative impression. I would not return, nor would I recommend this establishment to others.

Very good local Savoyard restaurant. Great tartiflette as the name suggests, excellent cream brûlée for desert and fair prices for beer and wine. Recommended

Delicious raclette at a fantastic price - cannot be beaten! You will not be able to finish that lovely cheese, believe me, I tried... Charcuterie on point and mustard was lit (my mouth on fire 🔥). House wine 9.5€ per bottle really good stuff to compliment that melty cheese. Mega good you need to try and give a big tip.

Restaurant
Located in Espace Mille8, 73700 Bourg-Saint-Maurice, France, La Folie Douce Les Arcs is a new addition to the ski area offering a festive mountain concept. The architecture resembles a chapel in Ronchamp and provides courteous service. While the smoked trout appetizer may lack excitement, the pate en croute with good jelly and crispy pork from Cantal are satisfying. The generous salted caramel profiterole is also noteworthy.
Amazing place for lunch. We take lunch here every day and it is delicious. The food has significantly improved since we have been here two years ago. I like to take le plat du jour, it is always tasty! The team is great, super helpful and nice. The performers are beautiful and create an unforgettable vibe. I recommend this place for good ambiance and food.

Come here for drinks in the sun, or to party during winter when the vibes are turned up! But honestly, the food quality isn’t as great as it could be. Over winter the menu gets pimped up a fair bit more and can be better. The summer menu is laid back and has a nice range of options- fresh bbq etc, but I think there are better options in the village for the same price. In saying that, you will always have a good time here- the vibes are up and the staff are fantastic, happy, helpful and they all have great English for those of us with a French language deficit 🙃
Rachel C — Google review
A nice vibe and the staff is super attentive and friendly. But half a rack of spareribs for €39 better be perfect. Admittedly, well prepared and succulent, and the seasoning was nice. But it lacked character and depth of flavour making it all disappointingly bland. The dish of the day (also pictured) was flavourful and probably the better choice.
Gijs W — Google review
A popular place within the ski resort. Fantastic scenery, huge bar, live music, happy people. all this has to be paid for, so the prices here are high. I tried the classic, French onion soup. Delicious, but I've definitely eaten better. French fries are good and crispy though.
Uģis B — Google review
Fabulous decor, top-notch food on the slopes, and great service. What more can you ask for? For mains, I had the beef cheek while my partner had the duck breast. Would 100% recommend both, but the duck breast was a smidge better. Also, do order their cider—it was the best I’ve had in France. An unforgettable meal!

Nice place, some say a must apre ski when in the area. I found it indeed very lively, with a good food selection and decent service. The prices were almost twice than other establishments in the area (smaller one, of course, but still). If you can get a good bottle of champagne for 100 EUR in another place, there it will be around 130-140. Oysters are good, but again - 6 cost 28 EUR, while not far away the price 16. The atmosphere itself is nice, but I can't say it met expectations (or maybe there were just too high in the first place 😅). All in all, it's a nice place. But we were not blown away.
Yulia K — Google review
We did not stay for dinner or lunch, but we went for après-ski drinks. Great DJ and performers; the view is stunning. Prices are a bit high, but this is to be expected in such a place. Overall, a great experience and recommended.

It's a great location to stop for a drink or food while on the slopes! They have a wide variety of snacks, warm food, deserts! The space is airy and clean, great music and what's even better they provide great entertainment: a magician, live music, dancers! We went there twice and had a great time!

L'Arpette is a delightful dining destination that truly captures the essence of a memorable experience. Nestled conveniently near the Arpette 14 ski lift, this restaurant offers two distinct options: a self-service area for those looking for quick bites and an à la carte menu at Table de l'Arpette for a more refined meal. Guests rave about the stunning views of the surrounding mountains, especially on sunny days when you can soak in the breathtaking scenery while enjoying your food.

I did not care for the food at all except from the pancakes. The location and the look is great. You have to cross some really sleepry ice to get into the restaurant.

Very good service and nicely plated, flavourful food! We have been here three times during our week long holiday to les arcs; twice for drinks and once for a meal in the restaurant. The view is amazing!! And the music adds a nice atmosphere on the terrace in the afternoon. We had a meal inside the restaurant when it was colder, which was just great.

The Cooperative Saint Bernard SICA is a renowned cheese shop that offers the best selection of Beaufort cheese. Visitors can also inquire about the original recipe for the authentic Savoyard fondue, which is said to be superior to any restaurant's version. The shop is known for its great products, including Beaufort, Tomme, and Raclette cheeses. However, it's advisable to be cautious during weekends due to long waiting times.

Nestled in a charming mountain village, the Chapelle Saint-Grat is a hidden gem that captivates visitors with its stunning 15th-century frescoes. These remarkable murals, created around 1460 by the Italian school, beautifully narrate the story of St. Grato, Aosta's second bishop who famously returned from the Holy Land with the head of St. John the Baptist. Despite its breathtaking artistry and historical significance, this chapel remains relatively undiscovered by tourists.

(Translated by Google) We happened by chance in this little village where, in August, on Wednesdays and Thursdays, they keep this little chapel open with a cycle of frescoes on the story of San Grato, 2nd bishop of Aosta, which brings back, from the Holy Land, the head of San Giovanni Baptist. This cycle of frescoes, eighteen in total, depicted on the ceiling of the part in front of the altar, dates back to the 15th century, is of the Italian school and is wonderful to see. Also interesting are the statues of the Madonna and the Saints which are displayed near the altar and which constitute the various ecclesiastical furnishings of the chapel over the centuries. The visit has no cost and is very interesting, even if the signs are only in French: you cannot doesn't even have an English translation. Questo ciclo di affreshi, diciotto in tutto, rappresentati sul soffitto della parte davanti l'altare, risale al XV secolo, è di scuola italiana ed è meraviglioso da vedere. Nestled in the heart of Bourg-St-Maurice, Le Tonneau is a delightful brasserie that perfectly blends a warm atmosphere with delicious cuisine. Known for its inviting staff and cozy setting, this restaurant shines particularly during lunch hours with enticing specials. On sunny days, guests are encouraged to enjoy their meals on the charming decking while soaking up the sun. Le Tonneau caters well to larger groups, ensuring that even big parties can be accommodated seamlessly.
Walked in here on a Sunday Eve without a booking and a table for 2 was available. Staff were very accommodating and helpful given our limited ability to speak French. Good selection of beer including a Goose IPA which was available as a 500cl. We had the selection of cold meats as a starter and it was plentiful for the price. Cheeseburgers to follow were cooked well and tasted decent. Again, staff were very friendly. Payment is made at bar vs at table. Edit: I returned a few days later and got the 500g steak. It was beautiful! Of all the places I ate at whilst in BSM, this was my favourite

Avoid avoid avoid. Worst, over-priced meal I’ve had on holiday so far. I ordered chicken Caesar salad and the chicken couldn’t be differentiated from the croutons. Check out my photo. I wouldn’t feed this to my dog. Lasagne was mediocre and burger was burnt on the outside but undercooked in the middle. Save your money and go somewhere else, no matter how hungry you are. The staff told me they don’t care about a bad review. So, here’s to your one star ⭐️

Have been coming here for over 20 years but have to vent my feelings after today’s visit for drinks and to meet friends. The place was busy surviving lunch when we arrived and understandably the drinks service was slow. After friends joining us ordering additional drinks we asked the waiter to pay the bill was €24.60 we left €30 expecting change to be brought back inline with other guests but after waiting over 20 minutes had to go inside and ask for change, this was not taken very well at all. I had also at this time tried to use the ground floor W/C after confirming I had sight issues the lady at the till confirmed it was ok to use the disabled W/C on the ground floo rather than using a difficult staircase to the basement toilets, the handle of the toilet was covet making impossible to use not good for disabled people!!! I was then told if I asked they would open not good on discrimination!? I was then told to go back to my table and change would be brought. To say the attitude of the waitress was offensive is a massive understatement. After 20 plus years visiting we will not be returning and making sure our friends who use the place are fully aware of how poor on non existent customer service is at this time. Regretfully Bob

Not bad, but not good either. The cheeseburger “au tonnau” had no outstanding flavors. I could even say no flavor at all. The bun predominated. The fries were dryish. For that price I expected more. The lasagna was small without bread. The service was ok, but not special.
Gianni P — Google review
Dreadful place! I just got shouted at for trying to sit at a table like I was a naughty child. I could not believe how rude the man was. Won’t be returning after coming for 20 years.
Jane L — Google review
Friendly staff with a cosy atmosphere, made us feel very welcome. Booked a table for 15 people and the kitchen was able to handle all of the order very well. One of our party ordered a 'hot hat' which is a cook your self meat, cheese and potatoes well worth getting if you are hungry. For the vegetarian options it is very limited, but compared to places around it at least had something. Duck (which was the dish of the day) was excellent. Tiramasu could do with more coffee and flavour. Good bar with surprisingly good food, worth looking at if you have just got off the eurostar.
Dave — Google review
Bit of mixed bag, we been a few times over the years and some staff are friendly and others are just meh.. The food is fast and ok but for the price it should be better. We go back because it has a good general atmosphere on the busy roundabout and nice general vibe, better for a beer and ice cream than a full meal.

Burger was average at best and fries were dry. An extra point for the quick service even though the place was packed.

We stayed for one night in February, the day of a big rock fall nearby. The guest house contacted us to ask our arrival time and to ensure we would have something to eat-we were on the train so still got to use our dinner reservation. The food was exceptional and I would go out of my way to eat here again, it was by far the best meal of our 9 day trip. The staff were friendly and breakfast was perfect and good value. I would stay here again.

I've stayed in a few places in BSM and this is the best so far. The room was fine - the bed comfortable and I got a good night's sleep. I will try the restaurant sometime. It looks great

unfair billing we booked rooms for the end of a one week ski expedition in the Vanoise. Do to bad weather, we had to stop short the expedition by two days and cancel the rooms. It's in the terms of the hotel that the rooms are to be paid in full. However, we thought it completely unfair, that the dinners for 7 people were not reimbursed as we had notified 3 days in advance. not customer friendly and some bad feelings at the end of a great week

We stayed here for one night after a week’s skiing in Courchevel on the way to the train. The host was excellent - welcoming us, and helping us book a taxi for early the next morning. Rooms were simple, but very comfortable cosy, clean and as advertised. We had a fantastic dinner

Slightly out of the town centre but a wonderful stop before a train home to the UK. Great service and a fabulous restaurant. Try the onion soup, it's sensational.

Receptionist was rude and hostile when I asked for an additional towel. The shower curtain did not prevent the floor from getting wet and I asked to get a towel to clean it up myself. She went off and yelled that we would never shower like that in our homes. Her hostility was unreasonable and aggressive. She even barged in the room and yelled that this her home. I told if we made a mistake, I apologize and offered to clean it up and she aggressively said yes, you clean it up. She was unhinged and we immediately looked for a new hotel. I can’t help but conclude that this was racially motivated.

Friendly people running the hotel, managing every aspect well. Very comfortable bed. Merci :) My only criticism is that not enough is done to control noise from the restaurant downstairs. Be aware if you need an early night and book one of the first floor rooms (without a private WC, but with a private shower).
