Fantastic village, loads of history and the people in the museum, gift shops and cafes were super helpful

Gammelstad Church Town in Luleå is truly one of the most charming and historically rich places I’ve visited in Sweden. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this well-preserved church town dates back to the 15th century and features over 400 small red wooden houses built around the impressive Nederluleå Church. Walking through the narrow gravel paths feels like stepping into a different era. The peaceful atmosphere, the unique northern Swedish architecture, and the sense of tradition are simply unforgettable. It’s incredible to think that these little cottages were once used by churchgoers who traveled long distances and stayed overnight for Sunday services. The area is exceptionally well maintained, and it’s easy to see how much the locals value and protect this cultural treasure. Whether you visit in the summer under the midnight sun or in the winter when everything is covered in snow, the town has a timeless charm. There are also guided tours, a visitor center, and small local shops that add to the experience. It’s a perfect destination for those who love history, culture, and peaceful surroundings. I highly recommend visiting Gammelstad if you’re anywhere near Luleå. It’s a magical place that stays with you long after you leave.

Lulea old town is a must for families visiting Lulea. The streets are stunning and there is an open air museum with fun activities for the kids. We had Fika in a nearby small shopping centre before finding the centre of the old town about 1 km away. We had a great time.

Scenic church village. Didn't visit the church because both times we tried there was a funeral taking place (two different funerals). Nevertheless, there were some activities (for families) happening at the open air museum and had the opportunity to see some folklore scenes from Swedish peasant life like bread making, and blacksmith works.

Did a visit during the afternoon and evening. Very beautiful and peaceful to be here. It’s a nice visit for free and there is a lot of information here to read on signs and in a visitors center (with gift shop).

A must-see when in Luleå. So much history. I was here at 08:30 hrs on a cold February morning and had the place to myself!

Super fun place for kids. Very spacious and with lots of fun spaces for the little ones. On the bad side, toilets and food. Very few toilets. The place was at 10% capacity and we had to wait for the toilets every time. The available food was mainly precooked frozen fast food and the salads were not very fresh. You're not allowed to bring in food so the option is to feed your children garbage or nothing.

Very convenient visiting hours. Multiple options for entry fee, buying the annual membership card is good option. Very friendly staff. Very good playing area. Very good restaurant with good menu. Lot of activities options available for kids.....

My son loved it here while in Sweden. It’s a huge park for indoor play. Take your children here very clean and great staff!

Great family fun, expensive for a 2 year old that could not use the full activities anyway. Food not so great... Disable door does not work.

I really love this places with go-cart and laser hall. A Play zone with shuffle, arcade games and some other fun stuff. They also have a relax to rent of you want to spend some quality time with friends. A bar on floor two and a big terrace to relax in the sun and cool down with a drink or some sodas

Very fun for older children, lots of activities. We booked an hour at Prison Island as a family with children aged 11, 8 and 6. However the two youngest ones were scared by the sounds, paintings and light shows of the prison cells, which made it impossible to fully enjoy the experience. In my opinion the place is not suited for children under 8. Apart from that the concept and facility is really fun and impressive!

Great food, one of the best asian resturants I ever tried

Did both the "escape rooms" and spa. The escape rooms were fun! I recommend having maybe 3 people, since you can then do more of the rooms, I also recommend doing them for more than an hour, 2h minimum. One hour went by in an instant! I'm swedish myself, but my girlfriend is foreign and I had to translate the instructions etc. The spa was great. A lot of space, 2 nice bubble pools and 3 saunas. I would have wished that the saunas had different temperatures, because they all felt kinda the same. Even had some fruit snacks laid out which was a nice surprise. Nothing amazing, but super nice nevertheless! If the escape room instructions were available in english and if the saunas had different temperatures, I would have given this place a 5 star.

Really cool, went there as a little party of grown ups and we had a great time! We ordered the pick up by the police interceptor, and a lady dressed up as a police officer picked us up, she was really nice and we got to take some pics of both her and the car for memories of the trip! A cool prison-theme all around the center and the food was cheap! We had loads of fun in both lazetag, gokart and arcades! Absolutely somewhere I'll go again!

Guess I'm just too old for this kind of a thing but the prison theme isn't quite my favourite in the fun department. The 'Food Court' is just one huge open space - kinda like a super gigantic school cafeteria - that (surprise) gets very noisy. The veggie burger for SEK 150 is a (bad) joke, especially when it takes ages to get it. Another great thing: you need *coins* for the lockers! Eh, what, is this also a part of the prison atmosphere perhaps? The upside, then: well, you guessed it: lots of activities for sure.

Lots of fun with what we managed to do. You really need to pre-book the different activities. We went there on a Saturday at 13 and most things was already booked up until 21..

Really good burgers. Buns are soft and burgers are moist but not soggy at all. Fries are super crisp with just right amount of seasoning.

Very good quality burgers ! Got served very fast. However I found the price a bit expensive (411sek =38€) but you don't find this quality everywhere and I'm not used to the price Sueden 😂

Locals say these are the best burgers in all of Sweden, and so far I'd agree! Very tasty! Love that it's vegan friendly, too! Portions are not huge, could be a tiny bit bigger. Prices are fair for Swedish standards, but definitely not cheap.

This is a local burger house, in a location a bit out of downtown, behind a gas station. This location is apparently the original location and now there are over 60 locations. They feature burgers, and have a vegie-burger option. You can upgrade your fries if you order a meal. Our family disagrees about which one is best, because so many are good. Lunch prices are great. Dinner prices are is. The staff is very friendly and if they aren't busy will talk with you. They remember many of their customers. It is enjoyable to return here for a simple quick meal.

Hands down one of the best burgers I have ever eaten. Good with the double Luleå and get the animal fries. The truffle sauce can’t be beat either. I have come out at least once a week since I got here.

The Tuna Focaccia is missing tuna and avocado. When I returned it, he says that all of them don’t have enough tino on them? And they have quite an attitude!

Food options are very limited for vegans. The service is dependent upon who is working that day. So expect to be surprised by not-so-awesome service or great service. Pick the time you go there i would not recommend it when the youth are out of school or on holidays. It can get a bit too busy and the noise level increases and not in a pleasant manner, the cosy ir calm café atmosphere goes right out the window. The best part about this place is "off-peak" hours one can have one's dog along in the restaurant. For me, that is a total bonus for pet owners.

This is a ok restaurant with a good atmosphere and very positive and friendly staff. Me and my wife took some Indian food made of lamb. My wife took the Dopiaza and I just had to try the Vindaloo stew and it was a good flavored food but not as hot as I thought,but ok. It is an ok restaurant and we have just tried one meal so. The price is good and the food is ok and the atmosphere was ok.

The restaurant served a mix of Koreans, Chinese and Indian [sic] food, the latter probably since it is has taken over the address of what was long the only Indian restaurant in town. We tried the Koreans food this time, since it is what the kitchens primary aim seems to be. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere kitschy. The food is nicely prepared and presented, yet lacks something important - the spice! If you want it spicy you firmly have to tell the staff so. Even though I ordered the Chowkeeng beef, labels with three chilis, the dish was mostly sweet and smooth, without a hint of any burning/spicy sensation. So please visit, but if you want it spicy, let them know!

We had Chicken Sambal and Vegetarian Chopsuey. Taste is good and rice is not adequate enough. Nice ambience and hospitality is good.

Delicious food for a good price with friendly staff. We enjoyed it so much, that we came back within three days. Try the fried bananas with ice for dessert. Lovely!

Great food, great atmosphere and wholesome staff!! Wad there with my friend as she highly recommended it, and she definitely wasn't wrong about how good it was. ^^ As a tourist it was also possible to speak English with the staff when I had to order something! The seating was very comfortable and spacious, and the noise level was also quite good considering how many people there were; you could speak normally and didn't have to scream or similar. Pricing was a tad on the higher side, but considering the location and service it was well worth it!

The staff were very friendly and totally made me feel welcome. Also the atmosphere was good & the drinks as well. The food was a little disappointing unfortunately. The first dish (fried shrimp) had no taste besides the cognac it was fried in. Also there were only 5 shrimp which were probably frozen. This in combination with a very large amount of liquid wasn’t really good. The main dish tasted good, the sauce was creamy and had a nice mushroom scent. The fries were crispy and I loved the dip. Unfortunately the meat was a little overcooked and tasted a bit boring. All in all it was a good evening with my friends last week but it wasn’t worth the price we paid.

Absolutely perfect. Friendly and attentive staff, best meat I've had in a very long time, and certainly the best ever in Luleå. Generous amounts of sauce and condiments. Pleasant and neatly decorated dining area. We will be returning many more times. The only thing one could ask for is a wider variety of non-alcoholic cider options (fläder/elderberry isn't great with savoury meat dishes). But that is a very minor request – a wonderful experience all in all. Highly recommended!

The lunch was good. The bread with butter is really tasty. Entrecôte bit little but tastes good. Just drink is not included for lunch which is a minus. Great staff with hospitality. I do not like the salad.

This is a very good place to have a drink or two and of course get some dinner. The staff is very glad and polite and makes you feel welcome. The food was good and we had a great wine.

The atmosphere is best it can be! Me and my friend got to sit in beautiful sofas with nice decorations around us. I love that the light in the whole restaurant is a bit dimmed👌🏽 This restaurant has THE BEST sweetpotato fries in the entire city 🥹⭐️ it’s so crispy, soft on the inside and warm when it’s served. The dressing to it is also delicious The staff is really aware of their customers and they’ll make sure you’re feel comfortable and satisfied. The food came out quickly and the drinks were lovely 🥂🙌🏽 One of my favorite places in Luleå 🍔🤗

That day, it was very busy, and since we didn’t make a reservation in advance, they asked if we were okay with eating in about 1.5 hours. We agreed, but in the end, we were able to enjoy our meal at a relaxed pace until dessert. The prices might be slightly higher compared to average, but I was really pleased with the restaurant’s elegant and sophisticated design. The food was distinctive, fresh, and delicious. The staff was very attentive and welcoming.

What a fun trendy place. Good music, service was outstanding. After our starter, the server asked if we wanted our main to go in or wait. So nice not to be rushed. The food was melt in your mouth good!!!! Had the pepper steak, was cooked to perfection and they served the sauce on the side so you could put the amount you wanted on. My husband had the grilled reindeer and said it was excellent. Highly recommend if you're in town to visit.

One of the best dinners we’ve had in a long time! I had checked the restaurants in Luleå, and this one seemed like a solid choice. It went beyond our expectations. We started with a drink and then ordered two different three-course menus. My löjrom starter was incredibly fresh, and my boyfriend’s mushroom toast was extremely tasty. The reindeer steak was the best dish of the night, worth every penny. The desserts were also delicious. The service was warm and relaxed; you get the level of attention you expect from a restaurant of this level, but you never feel out of place. It wasn’t cheap, but considering the high-quality food and the lovely service, it was absolutely worth it (price for two drinks, 2 menus with beer package and a glass of wine and coffe). 10 out of 10!

I felt that this restaurant had a bit of an identity problem. I expected a fine dining experience, but instead got a "this is fine" dining experience. There was an extensive wine list and the servers offered a wine pairing for a dish when asked, but the dishes lacked refinement. The dish called "smoked shrimp" was a huge bowl of unpeeled shrimp and two pieces of bread. In a pub type of situation this would have been fine, but in a white table cloth situation I expected more finesse. The Riesling from 2003 was a good pairing for the shrimp though! I also had risotto and it was way too salty. My partner had the arctic char as their main dish, and that tasted great. That dish also was of a larger size, but had more proportion control than the shrimp as a starter.

This dinner was perfect. My sincere thanks to the chef(s). In the Skagen, the bread was the true hero, perfectly crisp (sweet) and supporting an immaculate blend of mayonnaise, sour cream and delicious prawns. The steak was cooked to absolute perfection, and the creme brulee was the ideal sweet finish to the meal.

Visited for a birthday celebration. The meat eaters loved their meals. We advised we were vegan before the day so they planned some vegan courses which were tasty. Great service.

For having "sausage" in the name, they have horrible choice in sausages; salty hotdogs with mushy consistency and bland wieners. BUT their burgers are really tasty, sad "gatukök" patty, but the toppings and flavor makes up for it. And good pricing!
