Shopping
Rushden Lakes Shopping Centre is a new addition to Northamptonshire's shopping scene, offering a mix of local and global stores, dining options, and indoor play centers. The complex boasts 43 shops and restaurants including popular brands like H&M, M&S, House of Fraser, New Look, and Primark. Set against the backdrop of outstanding natural beauty, Rushden Lakes provides an ideal setting for leisurely shopping.
Fantastic outdoor mall! Plenty of stores to choose from, fantastic array of food options and great cinema and indoor golf. Google to see all available venues.
Manuel M — Google review
A great place to go for shopping, cinema, coffee, lunch etc The walk around the lake is great but bring decent shoes as they have put stones near one of the entrances which will be uncomfortable in soft footwear. Five hours free parking but beware this may not be sufficient if you try to do everything on the day. Keep your receipts if this happens and you should get a refund on your parking penalty.

Parking is tight at the weekends. However, during the week, no problem. Great variety of stores, local, national, and international. Quite a few branded restaurants, Nice 20 min walk around one many lakes

21/07/25, much to mention. There are so many friendly servers, nothing like peterborough. Lovely experience today. Frasers: Lancome: Cheryl J, you're a breath of fresh air!! Could ramble for hours with, lovely woman, perfect customer service! Asset! Perfume gorgeous and plentiful samples to try. Purchased La vie est belle, positively fabulous 👌 . Sports direct: didn't catch name but lovely young lad serving, super tall, random brief chat at the till, also manages to kill cacti! And yep are pup destroyed Euro ball within minutes, gutted. Not the biggest womens section. Mountain warehouse: woman with bright blue eyes, super genuine, positive, good at recommending products, but not overbearing. Blue light card accepted even on sale items. Bills restaurant: lovely lady with hearing aids, you do a super job, so busy today, vigorously working flat out.( To those that got annoyed at her busy self not responding to your princess needs, open your eyes, gain insight, and empathy, ) Food was lovely, thanks chefs! Good cuppa tea, (first place I've ever ever ever seen, using the same tea bags,) blue light card accepted. Sketchers blue light card accepted but not on any items already "discounted" can't be only one who thinks, Sketchers prices has doubled of late. Sure they used to be one of the cheaper brands. Staff not much chat, monotone. Services charges are getting out of hand! We know the servers only see a miniscule % Thanks for shining. All 4 of you deserve all the tips, all the praise, and massive pay rises, polite, approachable, and brilliant 👏 😀 🏆 🏆 🏆 🏆 Sun was shining, plenty of Accessible parking, For others with disabilities it's really well laid out, Accessible bathroom was clean and spacious. Slight let down was hearing most places do not take physical money as payment, which isnt very inclusive, knowing many a person who prefer cash over card, ( my mother doesn't trust cards, more complex than losing money or having details fraudulently accessed, and partners 95 year old nan, that just doesn't understand using card, just to mention two, but working in healthcare, many more feel the same, and just wont buy if cant use legal tender.) Has a dog washing station, 👍 has outdoor phone charging points 👍 Helpful homeless support 👍 Really is lovely to have the lake, looked ever so picturesque today. 👍 👍 👍 👍

This shopping center offers an excellent experience, especially when is Summer! The first five hours of parking are provided free of charge. What more could we ask for !Thank you ❣️ 🛍
Silviyasworld — Google review
Been here a few times now, theres a generation selection of shops, places to eat and a great cinema. The only real issue is the parking, there is lot of it but the spaces are way to small, if somebody parks next to you and isnt bang centre its nigh on impossible to get the car door open to get into your car.
Scrappychick — Google review
Rushden Lakes is an excellent outdoor shopping centre that truly offers something for everyone. The range of shops is great, covering major brands like Superdry, Superdrug, and Card Factory. It's also a fantastic food destination—with Greggs and my favourite, Popeye's Chicken! What boosts this to a 4/5 is the fantastic leisure complex. With 360 Play, a Trampoline Park, and climbing walls, it’s a brilliant day out that keeps the kids fully entertained. Highly recommended for families.
Craig M — Google review
A great place to go, especially in the sunshine! Lots of good retail therapy and some nice eateries! The lakes are lovely to walk around. Flat pathways to cycle or walk. A bit bumpy for pushchairs but doable! Plenty of places to buy coffee etc so definitely worth a visit or 3!

Shopping
The Swansgate Shopping Centre is an indoor mall that offers a variety of high-street fashion stores, health and beauty shops, and electrical outlets. It also features several food establishments. While it is not particularly large, there are numerous women's clothing stores available, although the selection for men's clothing is less impressive. The mall leads to a banking area and a small market in front of the nearby church.
We had a health and well-being seminar in this place, and the environment was so brilliant and healing ❤️ ✨️

Plenty of shops. Was pretty busy. Easy free parking.
Jac S — Google review
Swansgate is a convenient place for shopping, offering a variety of stores to suit different needs. Free on-site parking is a great bonus, and it's generally a good spot for families. However, cleanliness could be improved, and at times, groups of teenagers can be disruptive. There have also been occasional incidents such as shoplifting, which may affect the overall experience. Still, it remains a useful local shopping destination.
Joel D — Google review
Good choice of shops indoors and out with plenty of free parking in multi storey car park

Nature & Parks
Parks
Irchester Country Park, spanning over 200 acres of mixed woodland in a former iron ore quarry, offers a perfect blend of nature conservation and recreational activities. The park features three trails for leisurely walks amidst mature foliage, an adventure course with zip lines, and a quarry-themed play area for kids. Visitors can also explore the railway museum on select days and indulge in locally sourced food at the Quarrymans Rest Cafe.
Lovely place for circular walks or you can go off-piste and explore the numerous paths through the woods. Great provision for children with a huge playground and other climbing activities along the trails. Dinosaur Path is a favourite. Nice snack area with good coffee! This park also gives lots of insights into its industrial heritage. Unlimited parking for £3.60 at time of review using PayByPhone app. Love it here. 🦖

Love Irchester country park it's got lots of different walks, great accessibility to most however an electric chair is a benefit as it can be hilly in places. The are surprises along the way for the children. There is a cafe, a counter outside for ice creams, teas, coffee, hot chocolate, sausage rolls, crisps, pasties and cakes. With picnic benches around to sit on. Beautiful play ground for the children. Tree top climb and great toilet facilities for all abilities

Irchester Country Park is a fantastic place for a family day out! It's a very big, beautiful, and family-friendly park with plenty of natural areas to explore. There are lovely walking trails, wooded areas, and open spaces that make it perfect for picnics or just enjoying nature. The large play area is great for kids, and there’s plenty of parking available, which makes things super convenient. It's definitely worth a visit if you're looking for a peaceful outdoor escape!
Rifki A — Google review
A really well-kept country park with plenty of parking space for a reasonable price. The huge playground for the children, dino path and (paid) climbing attraction can guarantee a day full of attractions for families. We visited on Saturday so we missed the narrow gauge train museum (open only on Sundays). However, we had a fantastic couple of hours in there!
Aneta D — Google review
A lovely park with a variety of paths. Well maintained and accessible. Plenty of parking at only £3.50 for the day.

Cake Box Wellingborough is a delightful bakery known for its wonderful cakes and excellent service. Customers praise the friendly staff, efficient service, and the option to add personalized messages on cakes at no extra cost. The variety of delicious and fresh cakes, including eggless options, makes it a top choice for many. The convenient parking at Swansgate adds to the overall positive experience.
I had a wonderful experience at Cake Box! The shop has a great selection of fresh, beautifully decorated cakes, and it's hard not to be tempted by all the different flavors. I decided to try their classic vanilla sponge, and it was beyond delicious—light, fluffy, and bursting with flavor. What made the visit even more enjoyable was the friendly and helpful staff. They were more than happy to assist me in choosing the perfect cake and offered great recommendations. The whole vibe of the place is warm and welcoming, making it a great stop for cake lovers. I highly recommend Cake Box to anyone looking for top-quality, egg-free cakes with fantastic service to match! Can't wait to return and explore more flavors!

I just had the worst experience ever from a staff member who firstly couldn't speak proper English and who couldn't understand me when I tried to talk to her over the phone. I have been a cakebox customer for a long time, but will never come back as your staff was really unhelpful and rude.
Hem K — Google review
I recently visited Cake Box, and I was thoroughly impressed! From the moment I stepped in, the friendly staff greeted me with a warm smile. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making it a perfect spot for indulging in a sweet treat. The cake selection was incredible—so many delicious flavors to choose from! I went for the red velvet, and it was absolutely divine—moist, flavorful, and with just the right amount of sweetness. I also appreciated the variety of eggless options, catering to various dietary preferences. Overall, Cake Box exceeded my expectations. Whether you're picking up something for a special occasion or just treating yourself, this place is a must-visit for any cake lover. I’ll definitely be back to try more!

I ordered a cake from them and it has come ruined. All the decorations on the cake were no longer on the cake. I called up the store the lady didn’t even understand what I said and said it’s not her problem. She was extremely rude and raising her voice at me when I was kindly trying to figure out where we can go from there. She hung up the phone on me multiple times and was not helpful at all. Will definatley not be ordering from them again after such rude customer service.

Bought this cake today and the staff were very friendly and asked if I wanted a message on at no extra cost and they were very quick in completing my order. Will definitely use them again. Thank you.

Fast food restaurant
KFC Northants is a delightful spot for fried chicken lovers, renowned for its signature buckets and combo meals. During my recent visit on a weekday afternoon, I was pleasantly surprised by the warm and attentive service that made me feel valued as a customer. The staff greeted me with smiles and ensured my order was exactly what I wanted, showcasing their commitment to excellent service. The food arrived hot and fresh, just as requested, making it an enjoyable dining experience.
An excellent experience today (weekday afternoon before the schools kick out) at this KFC. Prompt, kind service with a smile, exactly what I ordered without argument and I felt like I was being catered for, rather than being an annoyance. Excellent staff. Top Notch. Food was hot and fresh, good and as requested. Drink the same. The party behind me were also served likewise. The front was immaculate and regularly cleaned. One of the best offerings KFC have. This visit proves they can do it perfectly. The toilets reek. Drainage / building issue. Not a cleanliness issue. Hence the 4 not 5 star. Will visit again if I’m close by.
John P — Google review
I visited the KFC in Wellingborough yesterday and, while there was nothing wrong with the food itself, the behaviour of the management staff was extremely disappointing. The individual who appeared to be the manager was shouting at young staff members who were clearly trying their best under pressure. It was also evident that the team working in the back were not communicating effectively or providing the other staff members with what they needed, which only made the situation worse. A man, who I assume is also a part of the management team, from the way he was demanding people to do things, stated that he didn’t care if customers were upset and walked off, despite us having waited over 30 minutes with no explanation or update. As a former KFC manager myself, I found it unacceptable that the store had run out of so many items; the kitchen staff must do better. My family and I are regular customers at this branch, but unfortunately, there are ongoing issues with every visit. On a previous occasion, a different manager made the environment extremely uncomfortable due to very poor personal hygiene. The unpleasant odour was unacceptable and has continued to be an issue each time we’ve returned. This raises serious concerns about the store’s overall cleanliness and hygiene standards, especially when the person in charge is setting such a poor example. I would like to acknowledge the young female team member who was doing her best to manage everything on her own while others stood around or were on their phones. She showed professionalism and dedication under very difficult circumstances. KFC Wellingborough urgently needs to address its staffing levels, improve management training, and raise its customer service standards. If these issues continue, the store’s reputation and ultimately its future will be at serious risk.
Kane W — Google review
Selected my order, paid and immediately the Windows blue screen (system crash) showed up then rebooted. No order on the system and I was still charged. The guy couldn't do anything about it and wouldn't give me the food. So I paid for nothing whatsoever. I would avoid if I were you, apparently not the first time it's happened. No shortage of chicken shops in the area anyway.
Ocean — Google review
I have been to this KFC on multiple occasions but will not be returning after recent visits. The drive-thru continue to fail with extreme waits, missing items and staff with poor attitude. There is never a please or thank you when placing an order and it feels like you are a chore to the person taking the order. Constantly told to park up and we will bring your order to you, with an average of a 15 minute wait, which is not fast food. This location needs a real look @ from the higher-ups of KFC. The Staff should be trained that speed and courteousness is a priority and please, thank you and have a good day should be a minimum.
C10D4M3 — Google review
This is hands down the worst KFC I’ve ever been to. The food tastes absolutely awful — dry, greasy, and borderline inedible. It’s like they gave up on even trying. The chicken had zero flavor, the fries were soggy and cold, and the entire meal tasted like it had been sitting out for hours. The service was even worse. The staff looked like they didn’t want to be there, barely acknowledged anyone, and acted like every order was a massive inconvenience. Slow, rude, and completely unprofessional. I don’t expect fine dining at KFC, but basic decency and edible food shouldn’t be too much to ask. Avoid this place unless you’re looking to waste your money and your appetite.
Shyam P — Google review
AGAIN ! missed another part of my order £5.99. Doesn’t matter which restaurant , they always knock you on take away or delivery . Is this an integral part of staff training? And to make matters worse two members of staff barged past me when I was trying to leave, whilst holding my order. I will be checking any “possible” future orders before leaving the premises. Note to KFC smile at your customers it really does make a difference 😬
Tannia — Google review
Drove into the car park in a big van, it needs 2 spots as I was parking a moron drove straight in and took the space, no worries I can live with that, there are that's everywhere, turns out he's a delivery driver for them and instantly had a good laugh at my expense at what he'd done. That would piss anybody off. Went into the shop and was treated so rudely that I walked out. Kfc be careful as there are loads of places around doing what you do. There isn't a rating foe what I had today.
Darren O — Google review
The worst KFC I have ever had. I ordered a boneless banquet - they gave me what appeared to be 3 chunks of batter, didn’t give any dip and the food, it was awful. The beans tasted like they were cooked 10 times over - do you not think to hand cutlery and dips over as well? Shocking service, shocking food. Save yourself the time, don’t visit this establishment

I had a pleasant late lunch at The Carpenters Arms on Friday 20th August 2021. The staff were helpful and efficient, and the menu offered a nice variety of options. The quality of food served was excellent, with the sorbet ice cream standing out in particular. I enjoyed refreshing pints of draft cider and Landlord beer, which indicated a well-maintained cellar and pipes.
Came for father's day lunch with 1 fussy husband and equally fussy kids, the staff were really accommodating and friendly. Food was delicious (roast beef was yummy) and we even had deserts which were very tasty too. Happy and full husband, mother in law, kids and me. Will definitely be back xx

It's a brilliant location. Lots going on, amazing fast paced action on the dragstrip some phenomenal vehicles displayed. Great commentary helping make it inclusive even for the newbies to the action. Good secondary entertainment at the other arena sites. Lots of high octane action. The participants were very friendly and willing to share their passion for their hobby. We will be returning.

Spent a works day out here to watch a colleague run his car up the drag strip a few times. A good day out although surprised to see that a lot of the food stalls were closed, but it was a Friday. Plenty of car parking and overall a good vibe. The weather was good with only a few interruptions in racing due to the heavy rain. As soon as the rain stopped the racing got underway pretty quickly.

I’ve been going to Santa Pod since I was young, with Bug Jam being the highlight of my year. Back then, it was all about the old cars, the smell of the rubber, and the excitement in the air. Now, as a father of two, it’s taken on a whole new meaning — it’s something I get to share with my kids and my wife, and it’s just as magical as ever. The atmosphere is electric but still feels welcoming for families. There’s so much to see and do — from the incredible drag races that leave you in awe to the friendly car displays, live music, and fun fair rides. My kids’ faces light up every time a car roars down the strip, and my wife loves that there are plenty of places to relax, grab food, and enjoy the day. Santa Pod isn’t just about cars — it’s about community, shared memories, and that unique mix of adrenaline and family fun. For us, it’s more than a weekend away; it’s a tradition, and I can’t wait to keep bringing my children here as they grow up. If you’ve never been, whether you’re a petrolhead or just looking for an unforgettable family day, Santa Pod is a must.

USC weekend. Stayed in club camping section Thursday through to Sunday. Lots of things to watch and demonstrations on. Food vendors, stalls for clothing, parts. Music playing in the evenings on main stage, dance tent and silent disco. Been 3 times now and will definitely be back again.

Still a great family trip out 35 years after I was the kid being taken there. Facilities are well cleaned considering the traffic, food is OK, though the oil could be changed more often if they're going to charge 4.50 for fries... You need ear protection..... you can buy it there.
Noyzmunky — Google review
Absolutely love this place, its always well organised. We were there for USC which has some fantastic cars, with something for everyone. The drinks are pretty good but the food can be questionable its pretty expensive which I dont mind if the quality is good but not all of it is. Pizza parlour next to fuelers was amazing but the breakfast place with no name that just says big breakfast baguettes (in between the ice cream van and the pod shop) was shockingly bad. I expected it to be amazing as we waited 30 minutes so thought it must be fresh it was a burnt mess and cost about £8.50 (see photos) avoid this place. The coffee there was terrible too. If you want good coffee then go to the coffee and cake place (next door to burger and fries) as the coffee there was really nice. The noodle place was pretty good too as was the Mexican next door (I think) that done the loaded fries (see pics)

History Museums
Nestled within the scenic Irchester Country Park, the Irchester Narrow Gauge Railway Museum offers a fascinating glimpse into the region's rich history of iron ore quarrying. Established in 1987, this free museum is accessible via the historic trackbed of the former Wellingborough Tramway, which once served local quarries. Visitors can explore an impressive collection of over 40 pieces of rolling stock, including both steam and diesel locomotives.
Came across this place by accident with some friends, had an excellent time here. Was incredible chatting to Alex and John, who offered a wealth of stories you rarely come across, but are crucial to the UK's history. The men here are custodians of a national memory that will be lost without their work. Support them!

Irchester Narrow Gauge Railway Museum can be found within Irchester Country Park and is home to a collection of exhibits and industrial artifacts, which include steam and diesel locomotives and a lifesize diorama of a quarry along with many other interesting displays. It is run by volunteers who I have to say have an amazingly knowledge of the local quaries and the the railways that served them. They were particularly engaging with my sons and egar to answer all their questions. Sadly it's only open on a Sundays 10am - 3pm but that only depending on the volunteer availability. There is no admission fee but donations are warmly welcomed.
Villan C — Google review
Great opportunity to learn about the history of the area and see what's been worked on by the volunteers. Very helpful staff and keen to share their knowledge as you walk around the meter gauge locomotives. Dioramas show what the area looked like and the work carried out around Wellingborough, Irchester and Irthlingborough. Irchester Country Park provide paid parking (coin or card) and easy access to the site, definitely worth stopping by. Cash and card accepted by the shop along with QR codes around for online donations if wanted.

Amazing Museum which we came upon last weekend, has friendly people on site, that had the time to explain everything about the site and engines which they were looking after. Plus I had the joy of helping start one of the old engines on the day.

Lovely little museum to visit set in a great park which is good for a nice walk, with ample parking that is very reasonable priced.
Graham J — Google review
Great little gem. Had a look around and the chaps that restore the engines were all lovely blokes and chatted to us about the trains and the history of the place
Scott R — Google review
Great museum and working locomotive workshop. Only open Sundays from 10 as completely run by volunteers, and what amazing people volunteer to run this place. They make things come alive and happy to spend time explaining things to adults and kids alike. We came here for the Jungle Parc zip wire climbing (which was also excellent) and didn't really imagine to also find so much heritage of the areas industrial past to discover too. Amazing to think a locomotive workshop is still working with hand powered tools as they do not have mains power or water. They even gave a little lesson on the fossils and geology under the ground to my 5 year old. We will be back to this lovely park and museum with my father one day. No entrance fee but donations welcome and lots of interesting books and items to browse in the shop.

The visitor center at Chester House Estate has been visited multiple times, once for a one day course and another time just to explore the site. However, it is surprising that it is not more popular. The advantages of this place include free entry, a small museum, various shops like a cafe, gift shop, farm/local produce shop, and even a dog accessories shop. Moreover, there is also the ARC (Activity Resource Center) and ample land to walk around with breathtaking views.
Our family went here for the Easter hunt and Lambing. Was a wonderful day out. The grounds are gorgeous and the Easter egg trail so well delivered - spread out enough not to feel rushed or pushed along yet not to wide so the children didn't complain of tired legs or lose interest. The children enjoyed the marquee with the Easter activities, the attention to detail was on point. The staff in here were particularly cheery and kind. We tried to book afternoon tea but as it was fully booked we took a picnic and had plenty of space, the afternoon tea we saw from the window looked delicious! Maybe next time 😋 We finished the day, the highlight, with lambing, the lady who showed us to our lambs was really fun, knowledgeable and great with the kids, as was the young gentleman who showed us into the lambing area. All in all a fantastic day out and one the children will remember I'm sure!

Gorgeous, gorgeous place. It is a shame that not many people know it yet. A place where heritage and relaxation can merge in a beautiful experience. Great cuisine (the chef is just great), great service (thank you!!) and an awesome location. A must see location. I have been their guest for two weeks and I miss it very much!

Lovely place to spend a few hours, busy with families and happy children too. Take a dip into local history, then eat a cake, wander around the grounds, check out local artisan businesses, have a drink and then wander off home. Completely free to visit and park too!

An interesting little museum of Northamptonshire archaeological finds with a nice cafe. The food was good and all freshly prepared. Some lovely walks around the site as well

I love Chester House! Been here many times for events like networking, Halloween or Christmas. The staff are always friendly and helpful (though on busy events a lot of them are very young and they need to check things with senior staff). Events are well organised and facilities are clean. The cafes are well stocked in varieties of local produce but they do cost the higher end of the market. The food itself is mouth watering & delicious. There has been long waits for the service inside the main cafe when busy. The park for kids is great as it’s different to other local ones - it’s more of an assault course so the children just want to go round and round. Parking is questionable… due to the historic nature of the site they can’t just stick the car park anywhere - the large main car park is a good walk away. There is however a small car park closer but is reserved for disabled customers, though many ignore this and park there anyway. The museum and the ARC are wonderful pieces of local history and should be visited by all.

It's a charming old farmhouse with a café and the grounds are a base for Leicester Uni archaeology dept, who are currently excavating a Roman site in the grounds. The house and grounds are free to visit and open most days. They hold regular events; I attended the Roman Fest which had interactive displays by the Uni archaeology students, a Roman legion reenactment, also, Romans Got Talent, a fun and informative Roman themed show for the kids from local Laugh Out Loud Theatre Company. There was also a variety of stalls with Roman craft demonstrations and displays and great food stalls.

Nestled within the charming Nene Court Shopping Village, The Garden Deli is a delightful café that has been serving up quick bites since 2013. This father-daughter duo, Warren and Maddi, have crafted a cozy haven for shoppers looking to recharge. With its inviting atmosphere and lovely decor, it’s an ideal spot to enjoy great coffee and delicious food. On sunny days, the outdoor courtyard becomes a perfect retreat where you can savor your meal while soaking in the warm weather.
We had such a wonderful time at The Garden Deli, having afternoon tea for our friends baby shower. Really accommodating with dietary requirements, nothing was too much hassle. We were given a lovely space that was semi-private that we were able to decorate for the special occasion. All the staff on the day were really friendly and very helpful with drinks. Atmosphere was fantastic within the venue and all of the other customers. The afternoon tea was absolutely, amazing value for money, all fresh, tasting delicious and everyone was left completed stuffed. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend excellent venue. Thank you so much xx

Found in Nene Court, a bundle of shops hides this hidden gem of a coffee shop. With home made cakes and a range of hot drinks, the atmosphere is rustic with wooden tables and fairy lights. Service was fast and the cakes were even better. I cannot fault this cafe, and definitely recommend a visit. To note, it does get busy at the weekends as its popular for a reason. Toilets available. Thank you for a pleasant experience.

I got there as it opened. Went to order my breakfast... first customer, to be told we have run out of Bagels. How can you have run out of something so simple before you open. Very bad planning. The lady who served us at the tile was quite rude. Food that we ended up having to have was just OK. I will not been returning. Very expensive for what you get. Very disappointed

Food was hit and miss at points, Salad was a mix of fresh and old wilted Lettuce, the ciabatta was soggy and the fish was cold despite the expectation of it being warmed up a bit, both food and drinks were expensive for what they were. Unfortunately unlikely to return given the high prices and the fact the food was not the best. Wish this business all the best in the future

I hadn't been to the Deli for over a year, I was pleasantly surprised to see it was now twice the size, decor was lovely. When we went up to the counter it took some time to get attention, no eye contact by woman in kitchen, i could see she was preparing foid, but all she needed to do was acknowledge our presence, and offer a welcone and explain she will be with us shortly, bur insyead it was a bit awkward,, Making us wonder what procedure was for ordering. On a positive, good variety of menu choices, portion was very good, and the panini I had was very tasty including side salad and coleslaw, however cold drinks were not mentioned on the menu (apart from milkshakes and iced coffees), I only noticed the we drinks fridge as I was about to pay for my lunch. It was rather noisy in the cafe, most of which was coming from the kitchen counter area, I have no idea what all the banging was about, but due to high ceiling it may have made noise worse. I never understand why cafes are not more aware of how loud noises impacts the customer experience.

The Dog & Duck Beefeater is a relaxed hotel with a traditional bar and grill eatery that offers complimentary Wi-Fi and parking. It is conveniently located next to the Premier Inn, making it convenient for patrons to enjoy a pint and some delicious food. The restaurant serves delectable dishes such as the Mixed Grill, which is highly recommended by guests who have tried it multiple times due to its exceptional taste. Another popular option is 'The big Dipper' burger, known for its flavorful goodness.
Sits in a corner away from the premier inn sharing plenty of free parking . Had a lovely meal all served well presented, hot and in a timely manner, a special mention to Olivier whom was very nice, polite and attentive at all times. On other subjects , didn’t come across as very large and noted the bar area wasn’t that big also found the decor wasn’t either modern nor traditional just somewhere in between. In general , a pleasing visit with menus to suit all tastes with a decent priced daytime one which offers good value.

Was joined today by “er indoors” for the Unlimited breakfast. Funny smell as you arrive, but was seated quickly and it was warm and clean. Our order was taken at the table and I asked if the toast came with the food, but you have to toast the bread yourself, which is laid out by the continental selection. The unlimited breakfast allows you to this selection also. Fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereal and pastries available which looked nice. Lots of choice for jams, marmalade , marmite and chocolate spreads. Muffins, pancakes and croissants part of the continental. Help yourself to tea and coffee. The coffee not good quality but pg tips available for tea drinkers. So I ordered sausage, bacon, hash brown, beans & 2 fried eggs. The mrs had the same but asked for well cooked fresh tomatoes. Having to do your own toast is a guessing game for the timing if your food coming out, so a heads up would be good as we ended up with cold toast. Noticed straight away a lot of kids in the restaurant and they wandering around in the service area grabbing muffins and pancakes. We saw 3 families, and all the kids hardly ate any of their cooked breakfast, but were allowed to go and get more muffins and juice, which again none of them hardly ate. If the kids eat for free option wasn’t available they wouldn’t be wasting food like we witnessed. Don’t get me wrong, it’s great for families but don’t let your kids waste food. Our breakfast arrive, and my mrs wasn’t happy as the tomatoes were practically raw. The fried eggs were like rubber discs, the bacon not much flavour and the sausages not very good quality. The hash browns and beans good though. They say unlimited breakfast but they don’t come and promote this or come and ask if you want more. I had to go and ask as I wanted to order more bacon and sausage. When that came I then had to ask for cutlery. The cost is £9.99 kids eat free. Food not great, service is poor and too many kids. If you want a quiet breakfast not the place to come. For families it is worth the money, but keep control of your children. Poor outing for “er indoors” and the view from the mouth from the south is…….”not worth getting out of bed for”.

Decent pub grub in the outskirtsish of Wellingborough. Service staff were very attentive and on the ball all night, adding to the positive experience. Prices are good and if you have the Beefeater card you can get some cool deals. Had the mixed grill and the fam had burgers. Happy with the food.

Ate here as part of the meal deal at the Premier Inn. Sadly no photos of dinner, too hungry, but the chicken melt was decent enough pub fayre. Remembered to photograph my breakfast though. All you can eat but unlike last night, not so hungry, but really enjoyed what I had. Staff very helpful and polite. Happy to return. Christmas? Suddenly remembered that it's not so far away. Scary.

Stopped in the Premier Inn next door so it was very handy for a pint and some grub. Had the Mixed Grill twice (it was that good) also had "The big Dipper" burger, nice tasty burger. Also had breakfast here when stopping in the Hotel. Breakfast was superb, plenty of choice and nice Costa coffee to wash it down. Help yourself to the "Continental" and place your cooked breakfast order with the Waiter/Waitress as much as you can eat, absolutely lovely cooked breakfast and the Staff couldn't do enough for you...looking forward to my next stay there, next week.....👍👍👍👍

Absolutely dreadful avoid the place. Appalling service waitress had a face ththat would stop a clock clearly didn't want to be there. Ribeye steak was nothing more than a piece of frying stake which i couldn'tcut let alone chew . Advertised as triple cooked chips in reality nothing more than uncooked Oven chips. Half a raw dried tomatoes And a raw mushroom for garnish. My Mum had the desert with golden oaty crumble allegedly nothing resembling in reality. Over priced slop I will never return and advise anyone else to do the same.

A reservation was made for a group of 10 at Khandan Indian Restaurant, but only 7 people showed up. The staff handled this situation without any problems. Due to the larger number of people, it took longer for the food to be prepared and served, although there were no issues with the quality of the food. The seating arrangement was interesting, with a chair that slid magically across the floor providing entertainment.
Brilliant local find! Amazing food, great portions and wide selection. Party of 6 dined in for the banquet. We honestly felt so tajen care of, such attentive service. All the dishes were delicious, we went for a range of mains and starters and all were standout! The garlic bhuna was stand out. Thank you for looking after us

Nature & Parks
Parks
Sywell Country Park, located near the village of Sywell, offers a picturesque 2.5-mile walk around its former reservoir. The park features walking paths, a butterfly garden, a cafe, and a play area for children. Visitors can explore the Waterworks Heritage Trail to learn about the park's history. The flat and accessible paths make it perfect for families and dog walkers to enjoy the stunning autumn foliage reflected in the still waters of the reservoir.
We recently visited Sywell Country Park and found it to be one of Northampton’s most enjoyable outdoor destinations. The park offers ample parking with a fee of £3.50 for up to 12 hours, making it a convenient choice for a full-day visit. Among its attractions, the children’s play area is engaging, while the butterfly garden adds a charming touch to the experience. However, the true highlight is the stunning reservoir, which offers a peaceful and scenic setting for walking or running. The walkway around the reservoir is well-maintained, with plenty of benches along the way—ideal for rest breaks or simply enjoying the view. The refreshing breeze from the water adds to the park's serene atmosphere. Overall, Sywell Country Park is a fantastic spot for families, nature lovers, and anyone looking to unwind in a beautiful natural setting.

A really lovely country park, route around the reservoir is just under 5K and really pleasant. Ice cream in the cafe afterwards was top notch. Paying for parking can be fiddly if you haven’t got change .. Apple Pay on my phone wouldn’t work, but was able to sort via the paybyphone app. A great place to relax and spend a few hours.

Sywell Country Park is the sort of place where dogs think they’ve died and gone to heaven. Long winding paths, open spaces to tear around, and a reservoir big enough to make them dream of a career in wildfowl management. If your dog loves a good walk, this is basically Disneyland. You’ll see everything from tiny dachshunds strutting like they own the place to labradors leaping into the water with the grace of a cannonball. The trails are great for humans too. They’re easy enough that you can stroll along happily with a coffee, but varied enough to make you feel like you’ve actually achieved something by the end. There are woods, lakeside stretches and enough benches to stage a sit down protest if your legs give up. Families love it here as well. The kids’ play areas are the sort of contraptions that would make most adults secretly want to have a go, and there’s enough space for little ones to burn off every ounce of sugar they’ve ever eaten. Meanwhile, parents can collapse with a coffee from the café and watch the chaos unfold. Speaking of the café, it’s a handy pit stop and the cake portions are generous enough to make you forgive the occasional goose giving you side eye for not sharing. Bring snacks, bring patience and bring a camera because there’s always something entertaining going on – whether it’s a spaniel launching itself joyfully into the reservoir or a toddler trying to befriend a duck. Sywell is funny, friendly and full of life. It’s the perfect mix of nature, play and people watching, and you always leave with a happy dog, tired kids and the smug glow of having “done a proper walk.” Five stars and one honorary medal to the geese for keeping everyone on their toes.

Felt unwelcome here as a POC(person of colour) The place itself is beautiful and the aesthetics great although bathrooms weren’t clean. I was really hoping to try the restaurant there but prepared to be stared and gawked at by their regulars.I might try again as I had high expectations but overall just felt uncomfortable and left with a few items from the produce section and skipped on the restaurant.

I went for lunch. It wasn't great sadly. I was on my on my own and was sat right in the middle of the restaurant looking towards an open door or I could have swapped seats and had the door behind me. I ordered a coffee and a jacket potato with bacon cheese and mushrooms. The food was tasty but wasn't hot in the middle and the coffee eventually arrived half way through my meal. I felt very unwelcome. I won't be going back.

Went there are 11.00 - plenty of tables free in the restaurant - great place to meet friends. Ordered lunch, it was served promptly. The shop is so big, more than just a garden centre, restaurant, plants and flowers, fresh food, bakery, meat and now ladies clothes - and they had a sale on! Easily spent 3 hours there and spent some money! Not bad for a rainy day.

A really posh place, love their bolognese sauce, but huge range of food, garden and home porducts. Some are pricey, but the quality is second to none on everything. Great place for a brunch too.

Sywell Aviation Museum, located at the Sywell Aerodrome, offers a small but fascinating showcase of local aviation history. Housed in a Quonset hut, the museum features vintage planes outside and takes visitors on a journey through the rich history of aviation from its earliest days to the RAF in WWII and beyond. The museum has a vintage ambiance that appeals to both history enthusiasts and those fascinated by the invention of flight.
Absolutely amazing collection of artifacts relating to the history of Sywell Aerodrome, munitions, life during the second world war and aviation archaeology. This small but fascinating collection is curated by enthusiastic and friendly volunteers. As a budding amateur archaeologist I was intrigued by the collections of aircraft remains and the archaeological origins of the museum. John, as one of the archaeologists to excavate them, very kindly talked me through each dig. If, like me, you like to immerse yourself in each display, this free to enter museum will take around an hour and a half to two hours to visit.

Small but interesting aircraft museum, it's only one building but there is plenty on display. Free to visit but with limited opening times, there is a small cafe called the Pilots Mess which is not part of the museum but only a few seconds away. It is just outside Wellingborough and easy to find.

It is a nice place and relaxing for a family visit. It is great to see so many valuable historical items which are kept in good condition.

Small but beautifully formed Museum in a Terrace of 5 Nissan Huts with lots of interesting exhibits that have stories to tell behind them. Very informative volunteer Guides, well worth a visit. Ampul parking.

We went for the Grand Opening event, which is held every year when it opens for the season. Lots of vintage vehicles, period music, a live singer (May Blossom), and free entry to the museum. Car park is rough gravel, but plenty of parking.

Small but very packed museum in car park of the aerodrome. Knowledgeable volunteers run the place and more exhibits seem to be added every year.

Now then ,if you get a chance to visit this tiny museum don't miss your opportunity, all I can say is,it's a second world war p o w hut jam packed with interesting aviation history and it's also run by knowledgeable people who give up their time to keep this fantastic place running.

Excellent small museum, with an outstanding collection, well presented and clearly cared for. The aircraft relics do well to remember men who would otherwise be forgotten by all but their families.

Visitors can enjoy the friendly assistance of the staff who are always ready to offer guidance and advice on creating their own masterpieces. The studio provides a relaxed atmosphere with access to warm and cold beverages while painting.
This place is my new haven! It's so lovely. You get a time slot and the price includes everything. You pay a £5 for the slot (which covers the resources) and then you pay for the piece you paint. Also you can buy teas, coffee and snacks! The staff are so welcoming and very helpful if you are a first timer. I will be definitely coming back a lot more.

Went here today. Had a fun time with friends doing some pottery painting. Recommend! Cup not in the kiln yet will add finished videos when done.

We booked a session at Potz for Mother's Day as something a bit different and it was such a fun, relaxing activity! We didn't finish our ceramics in the two hour slot, so went back the following Sunday and stayed a bit longer to get them done - it's such a lovely chilled out atmosphere, the staff are all wonderful, helpful, chatty people, the prices were really reasonable, and it's lovely that you can enjoy a nice cup of tea (or a prosecco at the prosecco night sessions) while you paint your chosen ceramic 🥰 I honestly can't recommend them enough!

Had such a great time at Potz Ceramic Studio! We went as a group of three on a Saturday, and it wasn’t too busy, which made it even more enjoyable. There’s a huge range of ceramics to choose from at different price points, so it really works for all budgets. The staff were super friendly and helpful throughout. Can’t wait to see how our pieces turn out when we get them back!

We have a lovely wholesome afternoon! We felt that there was lots of variety so you could choose whether you wanted to paint something small to keep costs down or go a little more extravagant! The man who served us was very knowledgable, he clearly loves what he does and that reflected in excellent customer care.

Lovely little place to spend some creative time with friends or family. Staff are really helpful, and explained every step of the process. The 2 hour slots for painting go by quickly! I would highly recommend this place for a fun way to spend time.

I was with my daughter today and she was very happy to work on a cat by herself that she drew just like her cat that she loved very much and unfortunately she no longer has. She really liked this activity because she likes to draw. We will definitely go to this location again, it is a very good and educational place for children.

The dining experience at The Griffins Head was exceptional. The assortment of meats on the roast trio was remarkable, with each component surpassing expectations. Unfortunately, the service fell short in terms of speed, resulting in a slight deduction in rating. Nevertheless, the food itself was outstanding and definitely warrants a return visit. If the service improves, it may even deserve an additional star. Special praise goes to the skilled chef responsible for such delectable dishes.
What a find. A stunning establishment offing a small well thought through menu of fine freshly prepared meals. Highly recommend for a special evening out. These were our starters of trout and lamb sausage. Definitely worth a visit.

We went here for a 60th birthday celebration and had the most amazing meal. The service was excellent, the atmosphere welcoming and the food was divine. Having had an array of dishes, all were exceptional, both the presentation and taste making it the most delightful experience. The sticky toffee pudding in particular was incredible - a taste bud sensation! I recommend a visit, and am already looking forward to my next visit.

The pub has changed hands and after a beautiful refurbishment and brand new kitchen , we were lucky enough to be able to book a table. The food is absolutely amazing. We went for a chicken parfait starter, followed by pork roast. All of it was devoured in minutes it was wonderful. The service was was excellent, very friendly and efficient and we cannot wait to come back

Went for an evening meal and it was tremendous. It was the best meal we have had for a long time every course was perfect, it's not cheap but the prices are very fair for the quality you get and well worth it. Northants, for eating out, is sadly a bit of a world of mediocrity pretending to be quality this is a rare highlight that actually delivers.

I book for a lunchtime when the new owners had just taken over, I left my contact details. This afternoon, I checked in & asked for a menu, only to be told that they don’t do lunchtime food!!!! I now have to arrange a different venue for 30 hungry pensioners. What a shame that this pub can afford to turn away so many paying diners? I had heard so poor results, be had kept an open mind. So if your going to book here it’s EVENING ONLY.

Located in the picturesque village of Brafield-on-the-Green near Northampton, The Red Lion is a 17th-century British pub offering a blend of traditional charm and contemporary dining experience. The interior boasts stone walls, wooden floors, and county maps adorning the walls. Outside, there's an alfresco dining area with outdoor games for entertainment.
Very nice pub and lovely atmosphere. For me the food is the best part, we come here all the time and it’s never disappointed once. Also the owner is super friendly! I would highly recommend the themed nights that they do as it’s fun to try different fusion dishes.

Stopped by for an early evening meal and wanted to sit outside. We were thinking about pubs with nice outdoor seating areas and remembered this one. Had some nibbles to start then had three very nice mains. A classic Caesar salad with chicken red Thai curry with chicken and Sticky Korean Glazed Pork Belly, all great meals. I would recommend any of these.

We went last night for the set Valentine's menu, it was absolutely gorgeous 😍 we also did the wine pairing which was offered. The meal was beautiful, presentation fantastic, staff very nice and attentive, but not too intrusive. The owner is a lovely guy, who takes the time to have a natter with you, love this, made to feel very welcome. This is our third time of visiting and really looking forward to going again soon. Please pass on our thanks to your chef and kitchen brigade as the food was outstanding 👌

Thank you guys for a great night. We came close to the closing time and they were very kind to still service, and serve was very well. That steak was very good we did not expect it to be that good, especially since, they had to rush because we came late . It was well done juicy chewy but definitely cooked well.

We visited this restaurant with friends. The place was very cosy and not that busy for Sunday night. We have been politely met and escorted to our table. Our waitress Chloe greater us friendly and patiently took our order and even wrote the cocktail menu because the actual menu was not available at that point, really good effort. The food was great, just worth mentioning that not all items on the menu were available, but we were notified straight away. Sunday roast was great, Caesar salad portion was largely full of flavour. Overall great experience 9.5/10

I am a little picky when it comes to Sunday Roasts in Restaurants however this Sunday lunch was superb. I had the roast beef and it was cooked very well. My wife had the pork which was also very tasty. The vegetables were also cooked superbly, not hard but not soggy, just right. All in all, along with the excellent service, it was very good. Prices were also very reasonable

We visited for a Sunday lunch and booked to use the new Garden room. It was very pleasant, light and airy, and comfy for temperature. Staff were all very good, and we felt, looked after. Would look to another visit in the future. One slight comment, the food could ideally be hotter.

It's been a long time since our last visit here. Upon arrival we entered the bar area which was lovely, the staff were very friendly and attentive. We were shown to our table and given menus. The only issue they we had with this was the choice. On the website the choice is a lot bigger than in the pub. The manager really needs to update this We did order our meals one was 5oz steak with blue cheese sauce fries the other was a chicken burger in a brioche bun, rum sauce monterack cheese tomato lettuce fries, both dishes were really good. I would recommend this pub it's good☺️

Watched the Johnny Cash roadshow last night. An absolutely excellent performance . The singing and the mucians were awesome. Pity the auditorium was not full. Come on folks, support these amazing performers. You missed a fab night 😁

First visit to the Castle Theatre Wellingborough. We arrived approximately 30 mintutes before the start of the performance and found it difficult to find on site parking. We found parking a couple of minutes walk away and there is a multi-storey carpark over the road. We put it down to other events being on in the vacinity. On entering the Theatre we received a warm welcome by staff. We had purchased our tickets in advance and was directed to where we needed to go to find our seats. Our seats were on the balcony to the side. On booking these seats we were advised that these seats came with a restricted view. We didn't find the seats too restrictive with seeing or enjoying the performance, however anyone taking young children to see a performance then we guess they would as sitting side on to the stage. The theatres facilities were second to none. Drinks were reasonably priced. Everywhere was clean. Staff were very approachable, friendly and welcoming. Would we return again to see another performance in the future... most definitely. Was it worth the journey to see the performance....again...most definitely. Thank you for the most enjoyable evening. See you again soon.

My wife and I attended The Castle Theatre yesterday evening for an ELO tribute performance, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Upon arrival, we found plenty of free parking, and the venue itself exceeded our expectations. The staff were delightful, the facilities were pleasant, and everything was impeccably clean. Despite it being 90 minutes from our residence, we would certainly return for another enjoyable event. Overall, it was a great experience.
Andy B — Google review
Visited with family to see a concert. The theatre was clean and tidy. The process for queueing for drinks was well organised, if somewhat busy at the interval. We were seated on the front row, so visually it was perfect. We arrived a little early had a drink beforehand and had no trouble parking.

Really nice clean theatre with lively friendly staff. Very accessible for wheelchair users. Nice spacious seats and nit too big an auditorium. Would not hesitate to go again.
Aly L — Google review
I love the Castle Theatre. They have fabulous productions ranging from plays, live bands and excellent pantomimes on the run up to Xmas. The prices are extremely reasonable so taking the family to the Xmas panto won't break the bank as family tickets are available. Go and see for yourself. I promise you won't be disappointed.
Jami H — Google review
What an amazing family friendly theatre with a capacity of about 500 seats in the main house. There is a free car park situated behind the theatre and its of course wheelchair accessible. We visited here in October half term for a performance of Dragons & Mythical Beasts which the tickets were reasonably priced. The foyer is well light which has the ticket office & a bar. The seats are comfortable and the view of the stage is not restricted from any point. All of the staff were curtious, helpful & friendly. The theatre obviously caters for all different types of shows. Well worth a visit to show your support for a local venue.

Beautiful, fresh cuisine and a wonderful birthday meal for a good friend. However, my experience would have been improved if we had been offered drinks soon after arriving, rather than having to request them. Also, when our pasta arrived, we expected that parmesan and fresh black pepper would be offered - again - the former had to be requested. Accustomed to the restaurant asking if our meal is to satisfaction, and if we need anything else, I was again surprised when this did not happen. I was also rather disappointed that - as I was limping due to a severe ankle injury - and having arrived alone - that assistance was not offered. However, as I mentioned earlier, the cuisine there is amazing - easily the best in Italian fare that I have tasted in this country. With a few small service tweaks, it would be close to perfect!

Fast food restaurant
Millennium Pizzas & Grill offers a delightful range of dishes, including well-cooked steaks and delicious burgers. The portion sizes are generous, and every component of the meal is enjoyable. It's a great alternative to the usual pizza and kebab options. The chips are exceptional, perfectly crispy on the outside and soft inside. However, some caution is needed when ordering sauce with the chips as they tend to be overly soaked.
Absolutely phenomenal from millennium pizza & grill, ordered via delivery, driver is so nice good lad, food smelt Absolutely astrological, the food (oh dont even get me started) the best kebab I ever had, went on face time with the lads eating food with them aswell, will be eating their food again Absolutely.

Ordered a sirloin steak, and two mixed grills, when reading back the order kebabs was not mentioned!!! received sirloin steak and two mixed grill kebabs! Caught the delivery driver and called the shop, was told miscommunication refused to correct the order and apps issued a refund! Yet to receive this will never go here again train your staff correctly lost a valued customer

The best service! The staff were friendly, efficient, and made me feel welcome. And the kebab? Absolutely delicious – perfectly cooked, tender, and full of flavour. Highly recommend to anyone looking for the best kebab in town!

Terrible experience with Millennium Pizzeria. Last Wednesday (13/08/25) we placed an order through their website, the payment was accepted and the money was taken from our account. Shortly after, the order was canceled without any proper solution offered. The restaurant contacted us just to say they couldn’t deliver the pizzas — no apology, no urgency, nothing. When I pointed out that they had already taken our money, the attendant simply said the refund would come “in the time of the card operator.” I explained we needed to eat now, and that they had charged us — so they should at least take responsibility. To make matters worse, the attendant told me that I should be more responsible about where I spend my money, as if it was my fault for trusting their service. Completely unprofessional and disrespectful. This kind of customer service is unacceptable. We were left with no food, no refund at the moment, and a very bitter experience. Be very careful before ordering from Millennium — they clearly lack preparation, professionalism, and basic respect for customers.

Sadly, after lots of lovely meals from here. Tonight for me was a letdown. My chips were lovely but my fillet Chicken Burger was such a let down it tasted weird and although I tried to eat some I am wishing that I didn't. Soggy chewy Chicken isn't nice.

Chips are amazing, best I've ever tasted. Beautifully crisp, soft inside. Burger, wow. Only reason for 4 star? I asked for sauce and my chips got drowned like the titanic, always ask for ur sauce on the ! Apart from that, out of this world.

I ordered a well done steak and even though I prefer mine a little more well done it was really tasty. The meal was a great size and every part of it was lovely. I didn't eat it all just what I put on my plate. I will definitely order from there again. Sometimes it's just nice to have something a bit different to pizza and kebabs.

Delivery service
Papa John's Pizza is a popular take-out and delivery chain that specializes in both classic and unique pizza options, along with wings, sides, and desserts to satisfy any craving. While some customers have experienced challenges when ordering in person—like incorrect orders—the overall service can shine through. One customer shared a positive experience after encountering an issue; the manager, Ali, stepped in to resolve it swiftly and professionally. This kind of attentive customer service makes Papa John's stand out amidst the competition.
I had a small issue with my recent order, but the way it was handled deserves 5 stars. I spoke to the manager, Ali, who was extremely professional and helpful. He resolved the complaint very quickly and made sure I was satisfied with the solution. It's rare to see such great customer service these days. Thank you, Ali, for your prompt response and excellent support! I’ll definitely be ordering again.

Ordered twice in the space of 2 weeks, and have to say the service is very poor. I had to wait nearly 2 hours the first time and an hour and a half the second time. I called on both occasions to be told if I wanted to pick up the pizza I could have them in 15 minutes!!! Also telephones on both ordered to ask for pizzas to be cooked well done and both times had to put pizzas in oven for 10 minutes!! Safe to say I won’t be ordering from these again. If you want your pizza to eat at 6, order at 4 pm!!! P.a This was supposed to be American hot. What I got was American!! Can anyone spot the jalapeños??? Oh yeah there is a tiny piece on one!!!

The food here is superb, however ordering face to face has been a disappointing experience. The server got my order wrong and when I arrived home & discovered this. I called immediately to ask them to fix the issue. To which the same server responded with no, it’s your fault and you’ll need to purchase a new pizza. After conversations with 3 staff members I eventually spoke with someone who said I could come and collect the correct pizza. When I arrived it was the wrong one again, however they made the correct one eventually. 3rd time lucky! I did eventually receive an apology which I was pleased to receive, but I would highly recommend when ordering face to face to TRIPLE check they’ve got everything right & maybe even check your pizza BEFORE leaving. We’ve never had an issue with our online orders and as I said the food here is SUPERB!

Absolutely shocking service. Missing a pizza and so rude and apparently we have to re pay if we want this delivered!!! No customer service whatsoever Never will use again- made me feel.like it was my own fault- now struggling to get a refund. Don't use.

I couldn't be more frustrated. I went today just to get a pizza dips. As I do absolutely love special garlic dips. I made my own pizza and genuinely wanted a dips, it's on a menu so means I can buy them on their own. I went to the shop and I requested them, lady told me I got to wait 7 minutes for her to get a dip for me and disappeared!! I couldnt wait a 7minutes for a dip so I left but it's so frustrating !!!

I placed an order with the Wellingborough store to only receive an email saying there is an issue with the order and to contact the store. I contacted the store and their only reply was that they hadn't received an order in the system and to just wait. I gave them my details and they said they would call back in 10 minutes. 20 minutes later I didn't recieve a call so I called back again to once again be met with no help whatsoever and they couldn't say either way if I was getting my order or money back. They kept saying it was not their fault but didnt offer any solutions which was dissapointing and frustrating as a Papa Johns franchise. As a customer to Papa Johns this has been a horrendous experience and it has made not want to use their services ever again. I've been left with no food, a £29 charge, and negative experience.
J P — Google review
Called Papa John's, Wellingborough, in order to place an order. During telephone conversation with the staff member I was told I am wasting his time as I was asking questions regarding if the products are gluten free and the sizes of the pizza. I will never ever order from this restaurant.

I have called in for a delivery service, after i gave the address numerous times, postcode, street name everything even spelled it for them and told the things close to my address they replied with “we can’t find it in google maps when you can clearly find it if you are looking for it. Called in numerous times and the same answer was provided until they wouldn’t pick up anymore. It s not hard to look for the address on your phone if the system doesn’t pick it up just to pin point where i am ordering to. Very rude, impatient and would not do the delivery i told him more times that it was a delivery he always said pick up. Just unbothered. Never ordering here again and by the review i can see a lot of people are disappointed and dissatisfied.

All Saints Church in Northampton is a stunning 17th-century Anglican church that showcases exquisite plasterwork ceilings and serves as a vibrant venue for both worship services and musical events. Originally, the site was home to a medieval church that tragically burned down in 1675, leaving behind only its ancient crypt and central tower.
A great place of worship with great history. The interior is clean and well looked after. There’s a plenty of informative literature and information on the notice board is clear and concise. The exterior historic building is very well maintained.

One of the Thousand. The ornate architecture outside is matched by that inside. This is a celebration and a joy. Sometimes looking like a music hall and court of law, the church is well maintained and likely serves many purposes. Look out for the secret in the wardrobe.

A place that's open to all especially the Homeless. It has a good Relaxing spot where you can sit down and have a view of the busy area of Drapery.

What a beautiful church and such a warm welcome from the ladies who were polishing the pews when we ventured inside. There is a lovely coffee shop attached to the church too. Somewhere peaceful to grab a coffee and perhaps a piece of cake.
Marian R — Google review
It is much more impressive inside in comparison to rather underwhelming outside. There's cafeteria, few stands to light a candle (although free, 50p donation recommended). It's free to enter, we were the only visitors on Saturday morning.

Beautiful architecture and free entrance. While it was super hot outside, it was very cool inside. This is shows how sustainable are the old building.

The All Hallow's Church in Wellingborough is an impressive place of worship with a commendable level of service. Unfortunately, it seems to lack adequate facilities or activities for children. As an alternative, one could consider attending the All Saints Church instead. The atmosphere at All Hallow's is pleasant and welcoming, with amiable individuals offering their support and displaying friendliness. This church holds great interest due to its unique characteristics and the warm nature of its congregation members.
The oldest church in Wellingborough. Visited on a Saturday, the church is generally open 10.30am to 12.30pm, but best to check with the parish office. Staff are very helpful. There is an "out" building that does coffee etc most days. The church has a fine holy rood a previous war memorial flanked but statutes of Sts Edward the Confessor, Cecilia, Hugh of Lincoln and probably Denis. Like many Anglican Churches there is a nice area for children, with a first look realistic looking stuff toy dog There are fine examples of stain glass windows across the ages, including by Piper, Hone and Barillet I visited as it has a fine example of Hans Feibusch works. The resurrection. The church is a peaceful place for prayer and quiet.

I'm not religious but I appreciate the majesty of such buildings and therefore the way they impose themselves upon an area. It's the skills that the craftsmen had to erect such an edifice, especially when this church was built over 150yrs so probably had several master masons in charge of the build over that time. The gargoyles and grotesques carved and installed around the church are varied but all exquisitely formed and no two are the same, only similar.
Jami H — Google review
This is a huge church found in Wellingborough but I do wish they had CCTV in the front section of the church as I sadly often see people going there to exchange things that are not legal but because it's a perfect combination of it being dark and secretive it's easy for people to do that.

A beautiful old church in the centre of Wellingborough, which has recently undergone an extensive refurbishment. The Church was built in the 1100's, but the building we see today was developed over the centuries, and finally finished in the 1500's All Hallows means the same as All Saints, and in the 1800's the church became known as St Luke's (St Luke is the patron saint of doctors). Saint Luke's Gospel in the New Testament has a lot of medical references. In the 17th Century the church was known as St Luke's Wellingborough and the vicar, church wardens and congregation recorded their thanks in the parish register for a new communion plate which was a gift from Sir Paul Pindar who lived in Wellingborough. He was a merchant from 1611 to 1620 and King James 1 of England's Ambassador to Turkey. Born and educated in Wellingborough, he was secretary to England's Ambassador in Constantinople and later became Ambassador himself. He was present when Turkey presented an organ to the British Royal family and he became a favourite of Safiye Sultan, the wife of the Sultan of Turkey. Paul Pindar was knighted in1623 and died on 22nd August 1650. He was buried at St Botolph's church Bishopsgate on September 3rd 1650.

The Church of St Mary the Virgin in Wellingborough is a stunning architectural gem designed by Sir Ninian Comper between 1908 and 1930. This remarkable structure showcases a unique blend of Gothic style with classical elements, reflecting the influences of the Oxford Movement and Victorian ritualism. Visitors are often captivated by its exquisite interior, which boasts beautiful stained glass windows that create an enchanting atmosphere reminiscent of a grand cathedral rather than a typical parish church.
A beautiful Parish Church built in 1908 to 1930 designed by Sir Ninian Comper in perpendicular Gothic style. The interior decoration is gorgeous and more like a Cathedral than a small towns Church.

Unfortunately didn't take pictures on this occasion. Visited here a few times for wedding and christening. This was also my grandads church, that he attended. It's beautiful, architecturally pleasing, beautiful stained glass windows. Father Robert is a lovely bloke and would highly recommend this church to anyone 😀 😊

Pub
Nestled in the heart of Wellingborough, The Coach & Horses is a quintessential pub that exudes charm and character. With its walls adorned with memorabilia and accolades, this establishment has clearly stood the test of time. While I didn’t indulge in the food during my visit, I was impressed by their extensive beer selection and well-maintained garden space. On Sundays, patrons can enjoy hearty roasts featuring generous portions of perfectly cooked meats and vegetables—definitely a must-try!
Big portions, option to have a choice of all 3 meats. Meats, stuffing and Yorkshire pudding were tasty. Well worth the money and would definitely recommend, makesure you book a table at least a day before as it can get booked up.
Natalie P — Google review
Great pub. Cool interior with all the beer memorabilia. Big menu with lots of choice. When on a Sunday and the roast did not disappoint. Large portions and very tasty. Good selection of local and National beers on tap. A couple of fridges for takeaways too. Friendly service. Highly recommend.
James M — Google review
Fancied a nice pie and cider for evening meal and this pub was perfect as they had a dedicated pies menu, I went for Moo Pie and it was very much like a Pieminister pie. 10/10 for the pie. They had a good selection of flat ciders to choose from. A pint of cider was £5.60 which is quite pricey, the other two pubs I visited did the same cider for £4 but hey ho. I would recommend The Coach & Horses for the pies

Popped in for something to eat after having a day out, Sunday is roast day and the size is huge, well cooked veg and meats, great pub with a good atmosphere worth a visit. We will be back to try the burgers at some point. 25th March popped in for a burger black and blue, be hungry, is all I say good size thin fries and well flavoured for me it didn't need the bacon, washed down with a pint of Honey ale very nice.

Fast food restaurant
Sam's Chicken is a great fast food restaurant with delicious chicken burgers, wings, and wraps. The service is always quick and the prices are reasonable. The chicken is always fresh and well-seasoned, making it a perfect choice for any meal.
From the first bite to the last, I enjoyed the cripsy chicken and chips. The ingredients are well marinated into the chicken. I love it. First time in town and it was like a welcoming delicacy. There ws no waiting line, you can dine in, take out or have it delivered to your doorstep
Ogechukwu E — Google review
Visited recently and found the experience pretty average overall. The wings weren’t anything special — flavor was a bit bland and lacked the punch you’d expect from a good wing spot. The texture was okay, but nothing stood out. Service was decent, but the food just didn’t live up to expectations. If you’re really craving wings, there might be better spots around.

SAMs.. a genuinely good tasting resturant, but I’d avoid this chain. It kinda smells like wet dogs there and the old guy with the glasses hates his job and you can see it by his service. I don’t usually write bad reviews but the rudeness has happened far too many times for me to just ignore it, he once said I speak like a child after I gave him my order, I take things on the chin but there was an element of spite with it, I’ve got a deep voice, he can’t hear me? Fair enough. Since then I’ve been avoiding the place but today I was looking for some quick food, I like their peri fries so I figured I’d give them another shot. I went there, and behold, Mr Grumpy Sams >:( severed me again… I asked if he could swap out 4 of my peri wings with 4 fried wings, thought it wouldn’t be a problem considering he had a mountain of fried wings at the end of the day, instead, he tried to charge me double just for swapping out my wings.. I called for him while he was preparing the food and he just ignored me, even one of the other staff members had to get his attention. He went and whipped up the order before I even paid and then said it’s my fault because I wouldn't pay double the price, he told me to wait aside to amend my order but after waiting 15 minutes to get served even though I was the only person waiting, with 1 person behind me by the time he was done? I’m sorry, you’re not the only chicken shop on The Drapery, I didn’t feel valued as a customer so I took my money to KFC and enjoyed a quick service with an iconic taste. It really wouldn’t have been that much of an issue to change the order, as I just wasn’t going to pay double the price just for 4 different wings, I’ve been a customer there long enough to know they actually used to have this deal so the fact he made it such a big deal was pretty unreasonable. Go there if you enjoy being treated badly.
Tatenda M — Google review
Disappointed with the service. The behaviour of the staff is very rude. The owner of the shop behave like he is the owner of the town not the shop. Apart from this the other staff is also very rude and unfriendly. It like they are serving food free. Stupid stuff. Foods are competitively good but for their behaviour people will ignore that shop.
M A — Google review
I don't think I've ever reviewed a chicken shop before. I also haven't had terrible wings before until I came here. Ordered the BBQ wings with chips as well as some spicy wings (in person). The BBQ wings were tiny - I couldn't tell you whether that was chicken or some other baby animal. However, the taste... They somehow tasted burnt, dry and flavourless all at the same time which is hard to achieve with BBQ wings. No glaze. Perhaps they have been under the heater for a while I'm not sure. The spicy wings were mid, somewhat soggy but tasted alright. The chips were great - hot, fresh and tasty with salt on the side. This along with the spicy wings is why the rating is a 2* and not 1*.

My friend and I had a great experience at Jenny's Café & Restaurant. We were impressed with their extensive menu and decided to order burgers, chips, and milkshakes. The server, Marie, was very polite. The restaurant was also exceptionally clean and had a licensed bar. The food we received was incredibly tasty and well-prepared. We spoke with other customers who raved about the delicious food and pleasant atmosphere at Jenny's.
Walked in today casually. They introduced new menu and I tried some of the new things and they were awesome.

I was very disappointed to see how this place has gone down hill since being taken over. Avoid I visited and the place was completely empty. There were two staff working behind the counter, presumably working on delivery orders. I walked in and said hello, before taking a seat. After 15 minutes no one had approached to take my order or apologise for the delay. I attempted to get their attention several times. Got up and left after checking recent reviews and reading about under cooked food etc. They allowed me to walk out without acknowledging me at all as obviously to busy to deal with customers at that time

Had mixed emotions about trying Jenny’s, as it always seems quite empty, whereas a few years ago it was always very busy. So visited on Saturday morning and was served quickly as I was the first person in there. So ordered a strong black coffee and the traditional English breakfast, but asked for no black pudding or mushrooms and replace with 2 toast. Coffee came nice and hot, flavour wise not the best quality. Breakfast arrived quickly with looked very nice(apart from a lot of bean juice see photo). All very nicely cooked, sausage nice flavour, and very nice bacon although quite thin rashers. Egg and hash browns nice also. Overall a decent breakfast, clean table with condiments to hand a nice large napkin. Only gripe was coffee quality. Price is average for a cafe, so yes would visit again. Keen to try the kebab menu, so will be back soon.

Well worth the money we paid as the food was very tasty and LUSH, also well cooked and presented. I asked two other customers about their lunches and was told that they always come to Jenny's because of the lovely food and atmosphere. Well worth going and checking it out. Immaculately clean restaurant and welcoming, friendly, polite staff. Simply EXCELLENT. We both ordered Knickerbocker glories and they were very good. YUMMY!!!!!

Looked nothing like the burger I ordered . The actual burger was not fat and juicy but a very thin bit of meat. I wanted to treat a friend to a birthday meal. And no choice of vegan cheese as I can’t eat dairy. Tasted ok but not what I expected 🙁

I recently had a delightful experience at Jenny's Cafe. The prices were incredibly reasonable, offering great value for the delicious food they serve. Absolutely awful restaurant especially with the new owners that took over, I've ordered a few times and sometimes the order would get rejected for God knows what reason. Uncooked food or burnt, never perfect, missing drinks or desserts often. Never ordering from here again and I suggest that everyone stops ordering from this place. 0/10 rating 0/5 stars if I got given the option 😡

Pizza Takeout
Pizza Hut Delivery is a well-liked food establishment that offers pizza, wings, and pasta for delivery, carry-out, and dine-in. Additionally, they serve various sides and desserts. The restaurant's employees were extremely busy with an overwhelming number of orders. To make matters worse, there was a sudden influx of customers. The quality of the food was satisfactory while the staff members were friendly and accommodating. They shared laughter amongst themselves throughout their hectic shift.
Daniel’s pizza was invented by a colleague and we have all called to order Daniel’s pizza from Pizzahut high street. Try this out and you will like it. The young man that attends to people there is so kind.

SHOULD BE 0 STARS!!!!! Disgusting service . Ordered online, delivery should have been by 6.37pm, at 7.05 I was called to ask if I had received my order, confirmed no to which the lady on the phone said no we know and we will re make and deliver but it would be another 30mins. I asked for my order to be cancelled and a refund to which I was refused!!! Had to then collect a remake, I was offered a voucher for a free pizza another time but I will never use pizza hut again and a formal complaint will be made about this as I've paid for delivery which never happened and an appalling service

When the order arrived and we immediately realised half of the order was missing, our moods plummeted. Especially as it was a special treat for my daughter's birthday. However, we got out the door straight away and tried calling a delivery guy over to ask him about it when another driver pulled up with the rest of the order. The second delivery guy said they realised the first one had picked up the incomplete order and send him with the rest. Truly brilliant service! The mistake was rectified straight away despite it being the middle of a busy period on a Friday night and we all enjoyed our treat together. Food was hot and delish! And the 50% discount on pizzas made it truly affordable. Won't be ordering from anywhere else! Thanks, Pizza Hut:)

My experience at theese Pizza Hut on 18/10/2025 at approximately 22:30 was very disappointing. The employee who assisted me at the counter (a young woman with a red/black chex shirt, approximately 4.5 ft tall) was completely unprofessional. She barely acknowledged me, sighed when I asked a simple question about my order, and shoved the box across the counter. Rudeness like this makes me reconsider ordering from this location again, regardless of how good the pizza is. It's not 1st time 2nd time happened with me same woman. She don't know how to greeting the customer and talk to the customer nicely and smile

I've been ordering the same "Margherita" pizza for months and I've always paid the same amount of money (£12.48). But this time when they delivered the pizza, they charged me £19.50 which is huge! I understand that it may have gone up in price... But not £7 more!!! Even the delivery guy remembers how much I usually paid. They told me they had a new manager. However, when I called and explained, he wouldn't even listen! Very rude and insolent!!!
