Shopping
Elliotts Field Retail Park is a contemporary shopping center situated just across the River Avon from the Rugby North (Newbold) hotel. With over 30 retail stores, cafes, and restaurants, it has become a popular choice for shoppers. The park features well-known brands such as H&M, M&S, Nike, and River Island. In addition to shopping, visitors can also enjoy dining at Nandos, Costa Coffee, or Brooklyn Pizza.
Great place to shop, they have toilets near by open during its functional hours with security. Has various shops from food to clothes/ shoes with parking space
Aj R — Google review
Fantastic shopping area. Loads of food places available. Although wonderful and practical, these types of places have murdered the high streets. Progress 🤔

Good chap Jon for sorting out the issue with phones not working at Homesense Rugby. Jon has visited the store in person and arranged for Homesense to call me. This has saved me a lot of time today. Jon is a get things done chap and deserves credit for his professional and efficient approach to resolving this issue. Many thanks indeed Jon 🙂

A really nice retail park to visit plenty of selection of shops. And cafes along with places to eat. Alot of top brands in one area. Plenty of parking along with disabled parking as well.
Kevin M — Google review
Nice decent size retail park located near Rugby city centre. Loads of free parking spaces. Good variety of shops and few places to eat. Free toilets available.
Karol P — Google review
We visited here en route to Milton Keynes. It’s a modern complex with a variety of shops and restaurants. There seemed to be a lot of parking available but we walked down from our hotel in Rugby and it’s very pedestrianised. The TK Maxx is really good here.
Lauren R — Google review
Great location for many retail shops, plenty of parking and good options to have a quick bite to eat.

Swift Valley Country Park, just north of Rugby, spans 59 acres and is managed by the Warwickshire Wildlife Trust. The park features diverse habitats including grassland, wetland, woodland, and marsh areas. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely stroll along the River Swift or explore the disused canal while taking in the peaceful surroundings.
Nice mix of fields and woodland, great place to walk the dog.

Beautiful place. Only 4 stars as no toilets. Enclosed area to let dogs off if their recall isn't great. Picnic area. Woods, open fields, disused canal 1 side and wetland area the other with the park in the middle. Great to explore for kids. Xx
Jayne M — Google review
Lovely open space, good for the dogs too on the exercise area. Bit muddy at this time of year as you'd expect but not terrible in walking boots. Going to be lovely in the summer!! Update June 2024: it is indeed lovely in the summer! Only a few muddy spots in dips in the path - easily stepped over or around. Lots of greenery and wildlife.
Richard J — Google review
I wanted to update my post as my last post was done in the summer months I have been here several times and is one of my favourite places to visit such a beautiful place lots of nature in the summer months it's the most enjoyable walk but I find as a person who has walking problems I find it a struggle pushing my walker or when or when using my mobility scooter on the paths are uneven in quite a few places and in the winter months it's so muddy and unsafe for people with disabilities to go and enjoy this it would be greatly appreciated by all that uses this to have paths put in and more bins also more benches for people to sit down the other thing I think it greatly needs is toilets maybe people could purchase a key for a small price to use them
Sammyjoe L — Google review
Even though it is not too far from the M6 & you can hear some traffic in the distance, this is a beautiful little area. You do feel you are in the countryside as there are fields & woodland areas. It's lovely to hear the birds singing & enjoy a stroll.
Amanda P — Google review
DOGS SHOULD BE ON LEAD Swift Valley is a nice place for a stroll, many paths lead through it and around it. There is a field dedicated to Dog Exercise, but the rest of the land is grazing for cows and their calves and there is often a Bull in the filed. As with a lot in life, Swift Valley is ruined by other people. People that are either illiterate and can't read, imbeciles and can't understand or self important and they think signs don't apply to them. Walking through this morning to the large fields beyond, I saw a woman that had 3 large black dogs off lead and loose in the same field as the cows, bull and calves. She was taking photos of the dogs and letting them run all around the field completely out of control. I got beyond Swift Valley onto the bridle for half an hour and then headed back. As I walked back through Swift Valley, toward the carpark, there were 3 women all with dogs off lead and having a chat. Further in and another man, with a long haired dog off lead was leaving the field with the cows, bull and claves. As I approached the car park, Another man was heading toward the cows etc with yet another dog off lead, couldn't even be bothered to put it on lead in a car park, he had balls and toys ready to throw for the dog. Eventually, dogs will be banned altogether because the owner of the livestock has had enough. If and when they are, you'll have these moronic people, and those like them, to blame. FOLLOW THE SIGNS. KEEP YOUR DOGS ON THEIR LEAD. BE A BETTER DOG OWNER.
P. F — Google review
We walk here several times a week. Small but sufficient car park. Seperate dog field. Cows can be in any of 3 fields. Riverside too.
Amanda O — Google review
Swift Valley Country Park adjacent to Old Brownsover is a 59 acre (24 hectare) site managed by the Warwickshire Wildlife Trust on behalf of Rugby Borough Council, set to the north of Rugby's urban area. The reserve includes lowland neutral grassland with pronounced ridge and furrow, hedgerows, woodland and wetland adjacent to River Swift and a disused canal. A very dense bird population exists especially around the pools. Birds include lapwing, snipe and song thrush. Dragonflies and damselflies are abundant and in 2004 the small red-eyed damselfly was recorded here for the first time in Warwickshire. The first moth recording night produced over 60 species along with a healthy bat population.

Nature & Parks
Caldecott Park, located in the heart of Rugby town center, is a beloved urban green space with a rich history dating back to 1903. This well-maintained park features beautiful floral displays, play areas for children, and a multi-use sports area. Visitors can enjoy leisurely strolls along manicured paths bordered by lush lawns and formal flowerbeds, as well as attend free community events such as art exhibitions and seasonal celebrations.
Excellent Park, well tended and with good tarmac paths that make wheelchairs much easier. Had a lovely walk in the sun and the shade and a drink in the cafe to finish.
Peter W — Google review
Love this park! Super peaceful, lots of trees and shade, and a perfect spot to chill or read. There’s a nice walking path, and lots of flower all year around. Not too crowded, even on weekends.
Aleksandra L — Google review
This is a bonus in Rugby. There are toilets on the left as you enter. The kids play park is always busy and there's tennis courts at the other side of the park. So many beautiful trees of all ages on the easy pathway. The flowers are well kept and it's such a peaceful place if you want to hear the birds or just sit and take in the beauty of the place. There's even a small cafe but it seems the people dont want to leave there 😂 so it must have some good choices.
Smiler D — Google review
Such a "Beautiful" park. Very clean and tidy. The Grandchildren loved the BUTTERFLY TRAIL and of course the play area. Lots of seating around. No time to visit tea & coffee shop. Next time xx Ps: the history of the park is very interesting.
Christine B — Google review
Just a beautiful oasis in Rugby. Visit it. Enjoy it and leave it tidy..so much work goes into it making it as beautiful as it is. And support Hatty Bakewells whilst you are there too!
Julie M — Google review
I love this park. Every time I visit I am impressed with how well it is maintained and looked after. Usually very little litter and always a lot of people visiting for different reasons. Parents with children visit the play areas and older kids play ball and socialise. The flowers are seasonal and the gardens carefully crafted. The lawns and hedges are well maintained and even the squirrels are happy. I like the statues as thry are all relevant to the history of Rugby.
Rob K — Google review
Caldecott Park seems to be a fantastic destination and luckily it's near the city center. I recently had the pleasure of visiting, and it left a lasting impression. The park's charm lies in its ability to offer an enjoyable walking experience throughout the year. Whether it's spring blossoms, summer picnics, autumn colors, or winter strolls, Caldecott Park is a cool place to be in any season.
Chioma O — Google review
Love visiting. Footpaths take you round the park, with a varied and relaxed view. Gardens are immaculate. The wooded areas display beautiful seasonal displays of snow drops, crocuses and daffodils. A refreshing and envigorating place to take a break. Plenty of benches and little nooks among the gardens and lawns to sit and read.

Visitors to Rugby can also explore its rich culture, nature, wildlife, history, heritage, dining options, accommodations, and love for sports like football, golf, and rugby.
Oh, what a shame. Shame on the authorities for cancelling Katie Hopkins. This is global condemnation of Rugby police and council authorities. The UK is slowly coming to the boil. Brits are not frogs and will jump out of the pot, they will be angry because you turned the heat up, not down.
Edward P — Google review
Disgraceful behaviour. Cancelled a show 4 days before the show, THEY did not even bother to notify anyone, had to happen across it via a video on Facebook from Katie Hopkins. Benn is owned by the Council, who dont like free speech in case theres a hurty word or something someone doesnt like, to keep their voter demographic they wont let a comedy show go on. So now I have no way of getting back non refundable train tickets and hotel rooms. I am over £100 out of pocket and they dont even have the decency to contact people who have bought tickets. Have emailed the CEO of the Council, who run this venue and the venue itself and they dont have the decency to respond.
Gideon G — Google review
Why cancel gigs that don't align with your woke policies. As for the CI who refused to contact someone back...... shameful behaviour. Stop cancelling gigs when they've been paid for in good faith. I hope other organisations now fully boycott Rugby and your venue.
Jo J — Google review
Made arrangements in order to see the great Katie Hopkins again and to be notified it was going to be cancelled 4 days before the show is Ludacris! Lost a great deal amount of time and money in the process. Now if you have a problem with Katie that's on you but the mere fact it sold out again tells you you are the minority in cancelling her! SHAME ON RUGBY COUNTY COUNCIL

The Adventure Zone Soft Play in Rugby is a fantastic multi-level indoor play center designed for children aged 5 to 12, featuring an array of mini sports areas and engaging play equipment. For the little ones aged 0 to 4, there’s a dedicated toddler area where they can safely explore and enjoy themselves. This venue also serves as an excellent spot for celebrating birthdays in style.
Amazing soft play! We bring my son every week and he’s never bored of it! Lovely staff and bowling is great too!
Hannah D — Google review
Lovely large soft play area. Many of the joining parts of the soft play could do with a hoover to improve cleanliness. Lots of seating and a good price for me and my 10 month old. However i have never been so cold in a children’s soft play in my life. Considering I was running round after my little one, we were both freezing. To the point where people were keeping their coats on which is ridiculous. Considering there were newborn babies there, this needs to be seriously improved. We left after 45 mins to go and get warm in a cafe.
Lucy S — Google review
I’ve been coming here since this was converted into a softplay and bowling alley/bar. I absolutely love it. The kids absolutely love it and it’s such a nice addition to the centre.
Luke H — Google review
This is a good softplay for kids to spend couple of hours. Be pre-warned, some of the staffs are not courteous ( border rude). Do not let it spoil A good time with the kids!
Ranveer S — Google review
Grandchildren loved this safe play space. Drinks and snacks are available too.
Susan W — Google review
A decent soft play. Good toddler areas and I especially like the suction tubes for the soft balls. Food options are fairly standard with panini's, jacket potatoes, sandwiches, kids meals etc. Annoyingly I thought chips were included with panini's so forgot to order any, when the meal came I asked if I could add these as a side order but the staff were very funny about this and charged it as a separate portion rather than a side. Bit disappointed they quibbled over 60p given I spent about £35 at the soft play. That being said i would still recommend it for the soft play itself.
Inderveer T — Google review
Wonderful soft play area to take kids up to 12 years old. Separate areas for 0-4 years. Snacks and drinks available for purchase. Ordered a delicious cafe mocha.
Candace D — Google review
We visited here with our 3 and 5 year old on route to our holiday. There's some harsh reviews on here. We found it great. Food was perfectly fine, generous portions, came out hot and no issues. It's wasn't packed but maybe because it wasn't school holidays yet? It was slightly chilly when we got there but could've just been we'd come from a hot car?! There's usual bits for the kids, I must say the ball shooter bit is good fun. Even for the adults. Toilets are a tad run down but perfectly functional. If we were local, I could see us going to this place fairly regularly. Don't be put of my some of the harsh reviews.

GEC Recreation Ground was established in 1904 and became a significant contributor to Rugby's employment sector throughout the 20th century. The park witnessed remarkable growth during this period, with the population of Rugby increasing from over 40,000 in the 1940s to over 50,000 by the 1960s. This growth paralleled the expansion of various engineering works that produced turbines until their merger within GEC in 1969.
The place has a lot of options for kids to play and enjoy.

We went to watch a Football game and the parking spaces were great, the park was clean and grass nicely cut. Paths were clean and easy to walk along. Do wish that owners keep Dogs on leads, as some have a Dog phobia and were always looking over their shoulder.

Restaurant
Nando's Rugby is a vibrant Afro-Portuguese restaurant renowned for its delicious flame-grilled chicken, generously coated in spicy chili sauce. Visitors often rave about the quality of food and the friendly service provided by the staff, who go above and beyond to ensure a pleasant dining experience. The atmosphere is clean and welcoming, making it an ideal spot for families, as children are well catered for.
Fancied a cheeky Nando's so popped into the one at Ruby. We got there just before 12.30 and there was plenty of seating, started to fill up quick around 1pm . The app was very easy to use and there's table service if people struggle. Staff were all very friendly and had a good quick service. Would recommend the new loaded fries to share , they were yummy 😋
Rachel A — Google review
Came looking like a bit come out of it, half the wrap missing!!! Absolute diabolical! When picking up another customer came back with their scrap of food too saying it wasn’t good enough. Clearly didn’t care enough that night. Overpriced and you get scraps for it
NC — Google review
Nando’s in Rugby is always a great experience. The food is consistently good, and on the rare occasion something isn’t quite right, the staff are quick to sort it out with no fuss. The general manager is especially helpful and clearly takes pride in making sure everything runs smoothly. Great food, great service, every time!
S P — Google review
We stumbled upon this Nando's after a day out, and it turned out to be one of the nicest ones I've been to! The restaurant was clean and well-managed, which immediately put us at ease. The service was good, with staff who seemed attentive and friendly. But the real highlight was the food - it was wonderful and tasty, just as you'd expect from Nando's. The flavors were spot on, and everything we tried was delicious. The location is great too, making it easy to drop in for a meal. Plus, parking isn't an issue, which is always a bonus. Overall, it was a really pleasant experience, and I'd definitely come back here again. If you're looking for a reliable Nando's with good food, nice ambiance, and hassle-free parking, this one's a great choice. The whole experience was enjoyable, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others looking for a tasty peri-peri meal.
Nevil — Google review
This was one of the worst Nando’s experiences we’ve had. • Unhelpful staff – We asked for our chicken to be cut into 8 pieces because we have kids, but staff flat out said they “can’t.” For a family restaurant, this is ridiculous. • Terrible food quality – The loaded chips were soggy like mashed potatoes, with barely any chicken on top. Nothing like what’s advertised. • Basic requests ignored – We asked for the chips to be cooked well (crispy), and were told they “can’t.” How is it hard to make fries crispy? Overall, the service was dismissive, the food was poorly prepared, and the attitude was “we can’t” instead of trying to help. Families expect better. Nando’s needs to lift its standards — both in food quality and in customer service.
Aonjun S — Google review
It was my first time at Nando's. I ordered the chicken burger with fries and coleslaw. The food was delicious and it was an overall pleasant experience.

Decent nandos if you are traveling to Triumph factory tour. Nice and close by, lots of parking but was surprisingly busy. Had to go and collect my own coleslaw but was decent food.

Nestled in the heart of Rugby, The Windmill Inn is a charming nineteenth-century coaching inn that has recently been revitalized by Black Country Ales after a decade-long closure. Formerly known as the Rugby Tavern, this pub boasts a beautifully refurbished interior that retains its traditional charm. Visitors often rave about the warm and welcoming atmosphere created by the friendly staff, making it feel like a home away from home.
Lovely pub with a traditional feel and atmosphere. Friendly staff, decent prices and several ales on proper draught tap. 2 permanent ones and 5 guest ones. Lovely place to go for a few pints

The Windmill Inn is a place to drink ale, larger or cider. I visit with a few local friends on a Friday afternoon. There is always a large selection of beers at reasonable prices. We always have a cob/roll made fresh on the premises, the fillings have are very generous and again are good value. Got to be one of the top five pubs in Rugby IMO.
Stephen B — Google review
Very nice pub in Rugby town. Walking distance from accommodation. Very friendly staff & enjoyed people watching from our seats by the window.
Julie B — Google review
Great selection of beers and tasty cobs. I had a cherry beer that was gorgeous. Not a wheat beer or a dark beer like a mild or stout as cherry beers usually are. This was light in colour like an IPA day. It was the kind of thing you wished you hadn't tasted because you know you'll never get anything like it again. The pub building is really pretty too

Fast food restaurant
McDonald's is a timeless fast-food institution celebrated for its iconic burgers and crispy fries. This beloved chain has been serving up delicious meals for years, making it a go-to spot for many. While the service is generally commendable, there may be times when staffing seems uneven. For those on the go, McDonald's also offers convenient EV charging stations with quick 180w fast chargers available on-site, making it an ideal pit stop for both food and energy needs!
Wouldn't typically give a review to a maccies but this was worth it. Gloria is such an angel! She was super understanding, especially as I find it quite difficult to articulate my order and struggle to see the menu. Such a fantastic example of customer service, didn't expect it. Thanks for correcting my not banana but vanilla milkshake, good catch!

Main negative gripe was the out of date Galaxy pie. According to the sticker on it, it should have been binned the DAY BEFORE at 2:28PM! This is the second time I had bought a pie from McDonald's and had this experience. I took it to one of the team who appeared in charge, the team member took it and questioned me, saying it was made fresh. The team member then checked other such pies, and noted ALL the stickers were out of date. Another team member than started to frantically remove all the date stickers. Fortunately I was given another pie, as the team member had kept hold of it throughout. My original pie then joined the others and sat waiting for another customer. The team member flagged the settings in the machine must have been changed or tampered with. Either way sounded like a worry in a fast food restaurant, as who knows what else could have been tampered with... it also seemed an odd thing to say, as the clocks had already been changed several weeks ago? The team member then reassured me all unsold food is discarded each night. Check the dates on your food everyone, and flag any issues up to a member of staff 🙈.

It’s our regular to go place. My daughter loves the happy meal. However I feel for breakfast they can include more options. McDonald’s in Europe is something the UK counterpart should be jealous of. It amazing.

I recently had a disappointing experience at McDonald's that I feel compelled to share. I waited for 20 minutes for my order, despite there being hardly anyone in the restaurant. One of the managers seemed more focused on singing "We Wish You a Happy Wednesday" to the tune of Christmas songs than on providing good service. When I finally received my order, the staff member who served me carelessly threw the McMuffin into the bag, causing it to fall apart. To make matters worse, he forgot to include my hash browns and simply called my number before walking off. I politely reminded him about the hash browns, but he ignored me. The manager then chimed in, saying, "Oh, that's me; I haven't pulled them up," all while still preoccupied with his singing. To top it off, the McMuffin was cold, and the staff's attitude was quite rude. Overall, it was a frustrating experience that left me disappointed. I hope they can improve their service in the future.

Ordered food, received food and drove home. Only to find a lack of large fries! Drove back. No questions asked, large fries supplied. Got home, again. Right let's see what the "Big Arch" is all about. Smells nice. Straight in with a big bite. Hang on. Isn't it supposed to contain white cheese ? Oh for God's Sake !!

My husband and I ordered our dinner from Evreux way, Rugby; after starting to eat my food, I saw that my double quarter pounder meal had blue plastic in between the patties; I pulled it out and saw there was even more between there. I contacted Evreux way, and they were no help, no apologies, and couldn’t give me any way to report this issue. Quite disappointed as this could be a good safety issue

The Courthouse has quickly become a favorite spot for many, offering an inviting atmosphere perfect for gatherings with friends. Diners rave about the delicious and piping hot food that arrives promptly, showcasing a diverse menu filled with delightful options. The attentive staff adds to the experience, especially the lively barmaid who engages in playful banter. Many have enjoyed their meals here in larger groups, consistently praising the freshness and presentation of each dish.
Thought we’d try The Courthouse as it had recently re-opened. Didn’t know anything about the new managers or the menu. Wow, I have found my new favourite restaurant. The food is amazing; the combinations, the flavours and the presentation were superb. We learnt they prepare everything in house. The set menu was fantastic value for money. The staff were friendly and helpful, amazing food and a great atmosphere I would definitely recommend. Best dessert ever!!!

It was nice and quiet experience with my family. Staff was very kind and helpful. Since owners changed seems standard of food and quality got even better. Food was tasty more than i expected. And portions was generous especially kids one. I would highly recommend this place. Especially when they have special price offers. As you can see we had roast dinner and it was wonderful.

Went in for a meal to celebrate and was warmly greeted by the lady behind the bar. Her service was amazing, very friendly and welcoming. I had the BBQ ribs and my boyfriend had the beef burger. The ribs were so tender and flavorful and the burger was described as " the best he's had in rugby so far". I highly recommend for the atmosphere and the quality of the food. For the price you really can't argue. Can't recommend enough

We had our Sunday Roast and the food quality was alright. But they messed up our order. We ordered chicken sunday roast and they gave us beef sunday roast after half hour wait. They did offer to replace it by taking another long wait time, so we just had the beef instead as we didn’t want to wait and our friend had to catch the train. They did not offer us any discount for their mishap neither any complementary drinks or dessert! This was fairly disappointing!

Went last night with my family. Greeted by friendly hostess. Started off with a bottle of wine, a really nice Pinot Grigio was served in good time. Menu looked very good, interesting mix of Indian and traditional pub food. I had the lamb Rogan Josh, probably the best I've had in quite some time, meat fell off the bone, whilst the RJ was hot the flavours punched through, the balance was fantastic. The rice and naan bread - beautifully cooked. My stepson had a burger which looked amazing, my wife had two starters bought out as mains, again well presented and cooked. Full of flavour and quality ingredients. Staff were friendly, welcoming and attentive. There was a wait for the food, however it was absolutely worth it overall. Would definitely visit again - it was very quiet last night, but good to hear they are busier over the weekends. Well worth a visit and I would happily entertain going back. Prices for drinks are on par for the town and restaurants, food is of a really good quality and reflects well in their prices.

I’m really fussy and have tried loads of roasts but the Court House is honestly one of the best I’ve had, the food is always great there so we gave the roast a go and WOW it was amazing, the staff were so lovely and really accommodating with all my picky requests, we got two drinks, extra sausages and cauliflower cheese all for £30 which is such good value, 10/10 will definitely be back❤️‍🔥👍🏻

We recently celebrated our son’s baptism reception at The Courthouse, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The food was absolutely delicious, the service was outstanding, and the whole atmosphere made the day so special for our family. Everything ran smoothly, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience. Truly grateful, and would highly recommend The Courthouse for any special occasion!

Baking supply store
Chain retailer stocking arts & crafts supplies for sewing, baking, knitting & jewellery making.
Very helpful staff, was looking for one of the knit kits in store as a gift as they were showing as in stock on the website and the lady behind the desk was very helpful, she checked if there was stock available on their systems and helped by ringing another store to check if they also had any in stock to hold.

Hobbycraft in Milton Keynes is a haven for creative souls! They truly have it all when it comes to art supplies, from a diverse range of colour mediums to canvases and sketchbooks in various sizes. It's a paradise for artists and DIY enthusiasts alike. What's impressive is their diverse selection - not only art supplies but also baking stuff , wedding and cake decoration items. It's a one-stop-shop for unleashing your creativity in various forms. However, the only drawback is the staffing situation. During peak times, especially on weekends, the store tends to get crowded, and the queues can be quite long due to a shortage of staff. It would greatly enhance the shopping experience if they could address this issue. Overall, Hobbycraft in Milton Keynes is a fantastic place to explore your artistic side and find the supplies you need. Just be prepared for a bit of a wait during busy hours.
Yusra A — Google review
This store is relatively easy to get to, being on the outskirts of the city. However, parking is very restricted here, so getting a space within easy reach of the store can be a challenge at peak times. The store itself has a nice wide range of products. Although the constant moving of ranges can get a little confusing. The space can be a little tight, especially if using a wheelchair to try and manoeuvre through. The lift feels a little unsettling too. The store is looking a little run down - shabby in many areas. This could really use an update if they want to attract anyone new.
Mike F — Google review
Hobbycraft is my favorite chain of craft stores. It has many branches, and the Milton Keynes branch in particular has a comfortable and well-lit environment. The store offers a wide range of products that are well-organized, making the entire shopping experience pleasant and enjoyable. The staff members are also helpful and professional, and I would like to commend them for their excellent service. I will continue to patronize the store and encourage them to maintain their high level of service.

I am a member of another centre of the Better group so visited this one as a one off. The pool is lovely. Perfect temperature, nice and big with great piped music (easy listening) The showers were hot and clean, the changing cubicles clean. The pool seemed clean but once in, it looked liked the sides need a good scrub. Parking is plentiful and free for 3 hours but you have to enter your reg details at reception. The staff were friendly and helpful. Didn't visit gym so can't comment

After 11 years member at TQDJC , Very bad experience not recommended to join . It has changed to a profitable parking business on private gym land instead of being free for members all over uk branches , unheard of parking charges for members at any gym but TQDJC . TQDJC aims to collect unjustly money from members breaching uk GDPR ( 2018 law) passing on personal data including private mobile number to the parking compony use it to reach me . The parking compony got my mobile and out of date address from the gym record . The DVLA has updated address over a year ago but not mobile number or indeed anywhere else as the office claimed. Should change name to “ worse “ QDJC not “ better “ . It is a shame the instructors who running the classes are exceptional , the office staff are worse ever to deal with very manipulative , unprofessional and dishonest practices , this matter will be escalated to ( ICO)

Very clean, plenty of amenities, staff very friendly & helpful. Plenty of parking. Visited specifically for the children's soft play area, it's one of the best soft plays we've been too, only reason I've knocked one star off is that the under 3's bit could do with being a bit bigger but the variety of activities in it were spot on.

Terrible Customer Treatment – Stay Away! I used to be a regular paying customer at Queens Diamond Jubilee Centre, but after my recent experience, I will never set foot there again. They’ve chosen to work with a predatory parking company that seems to exist solely to fine honest customers. I received a parking fine in the mail despite being a customer, and the appeal process was a joke. They asked me to send proof via post, which I did, using first-class postage. Conveniently, they claim to have never received it and are now charging me £100 instead of £60. It’s outrageous that management allows these vultures to prey on hard-working people like this. To the decision-makers: do you sleep well knowing you’re treating your customers like this? Absolute scum. Avoid this place if you value your time and money!

St Andrews Church Rugby is a historic parish church with a rich history dating back to the 14th century. The church underwent significant restoration in the 19th century, resulting in its striking polychrome design by William Butterfield. Visitors can admire Butterfield's signature style in the northeast tower and spire as well as the ornate sanctuary. The church also hosts various events and exhibitions, making it a vibrant hub within Rugby town center.
A beautiful welcoming church. Stopped by with friends and had tea and a mince pie. Highly recommend a visit.

Rugby Visitor Centre is a contemporary art gallery and museum that showcases Roman and local historical artifacts. The center, housed in a modern building, also features the Rugby museum on the first floor and a local artist exhibition on the top floor. Visitors can enjoy free entry to explore these attractions. Additionally, the newly opened cafeteria "Pickle and Pie" offers delicious homemade food by Lisa, including scotch eggs and savory pies. The site is wheelchair accessible with smooth paths, making it easy to navigate.
I've visited many times as it's very interesting with the different events throughout the year. For a castle it is quite disable friendly with flat smooth paths allowing good access to the site. The site is also dog friendly except for the buildings with roofs (2) with water bowls and treats available in the cafe. The cafe and shop are both in the same building at the entrance with some toilets. There is also another set of toilets in the centre of the castle complex. Next to the riding building, there is a second hand bookshop which is only accessible up a flight of shallow stairs. The parking gets busy but there is overflow parking a short distance away. There is a children's play area with equipment near the cafe with lots of tables and chairs for picnics. I would recommend visiting on a dry day as most of the site is uncovered.

We visited a few weeks ago for the "Mini Explorers" workshop. It was an okay play session for £2.50 but there wasn't much to do and my son soon got bored. The staff were very helpful, and told me about the play village on the lower floor that I wouldn't have known about otherwise! That was lovely and I couldn't believe it was free. Everywhere was clean, and the staff were lovely. The lady on reception even gave my son a sticker. It was great having free parking too. This was our first visit and we would definitely come back. Lovely morning out.

Ordered some Christmas presents online and came to collect on 20.12.24 around 12.30 or so. I'm sorry I didn't get the lady's name who served me, but she was so lovely. I was rushing around that day, forgot shopping bags and had my young son with me. She realised some of the presents were likely for him, kept them hidden behind the counter and asked if I needed a bag. She then taped tissue paper over the boxes in the bag to make sure he wouldn't see anything. Really appreciated your thoughtfulness, you are a star!

First time I've had an issue with a product from Argos and it resulted in the worst customer service experience ever. Store manager literally refused to take the product back and offer an exchange as per Argos policy. They wouldn't even accept a phone call from their head office to help address the issue, and claimed it's a separate business which they don't talk to 🤣 The arrogance and unwillingness to help from the store manager was almost laughable, how they got a job in a customer facing role is beyond me. If there's a chance you'll need customer care, I'd avoid this store.

Ordered a sewing machine, wanted to return it so I went to the lady and showed her the receipt, the first one we showed was the one for us to go and collect it. The lady said we can’t return it as it’s been more than a month but we bought it on the 30th of Jan and today is the 5th of Feb. We looked for our other receipt once we collected it and the manager came and said we can’t return it cause the receipt we showed to her colleague was the wrong one. She started to raise her voice at us and as my mother’s first language isn’t English we felt racially targeted. We then called up customer services and they sent a receipt but with another store address. We didn’t know but the manager was being so rude and raising her voice at us as we have the wrong things and that it isn’t their fault when technically it’s Argos’ fault. I’m utterly disappointed with the behaviour I received from them as it wasted my time.
Jeya G — Google review
Absolutely pathetic customer service. I bought a controller and wanted to return it due to incorrect information on the packaging, but the manager refused to accept the return. It said it was used but in fact the item had been opened but not used. There is no negotiation anything. We are left with a useless product that we do not want to throw away. Pathetic customer service and I would never buy anything from here again!
Antos W — Google review
Needed to exchange a faulty unusable item, but paid cash and can't find the receipt, staff acknowledged that it was from Argos but flatly refused to help. I now have a £35.00 item I cannot use or exchange. Appalling as it is clearly from there and not fit for purpose, also have a disappointed six year old as it was her Christmas present.

I came in for a bite after shopping. I had the mac and cheese that was very nice but the salad unfortunately was covered in pungent mustard sauce and i couldn't not even look at it, was practically swimming in sauce. Please look into small details like this and just serve the salad sauce in separate little dish so i can add as much as i want to salad 🙏🥗

Used to visit the cafe several times a week for the wonderful £5.50 breakfast. One of the best in rugby! They've now removed that breakfast, added an extra egg and hash brown and bumped the price up to £8. No thanks! I hope the extra you're charging makes you loads of profit, you've just lost £20 a week from a regular customer. Well done big corp

Quite disappointing from Sainsbury's, I had a cheese and ham panini, which was £3 (overpriced). It took around 10mins to come out (longer than expected). There wasn't much in the way of filling, but it was very salty. The bread itself was over done too. Having said that the staff were polite and the environment itself is ok. It's a mixture of sofas with a table in between and standard chairs at a table. Access to the cafe is via stairs or a lift so ok for elderly and disabled.

Ordering porridge with banana and jam on toast you'd think there wasn't much that could go wrong.. They brought our toast over with no jam or butter so I went up to get my own. I reminded them of my porridge and coffee they looked oblivious to the fact they had just taken my order and said they would do it right away. Porridge was brought over cold and uncooked. I brought it back and she stuck it in the microwave and gave it back to me.. Still kinda like warm but I took it. I grabbed myself a banana from the fridge as they seemingly forgot again. The place wasn't packed and they had more than enough staff so no excuse really. The place needs updating. But was clean and tidy. I don't think I'll be back.

Lovely cafe. Good selection of drinks and food. Friendly, helpful staff. Plenty of open space and comfortable seating/table areas. Would have been 5 stars but toilets definitely need quite a bit of TLC and attention to deal. But overall, enjoy going there.

Breakfast had a lot of grease on it, especially the mushroom. Toast was hot buttered bread. The rest was OK. Service average, the young lady at the counter worked her socks off serving a large queue alone, and had to help the servers as well. Could have done with a manager to redeploy staff as loads talking down stairs. Clean walls and a dust would have been nice.
Paul F — Google review
Terrible service. Drink order was swiftly forgotten , then the barista needed reminding . After receiving meal , toast was burnt to a crisp. I requested to have it changed, low and behold the toast came back with the same burned intensity as the last one. I’m sure meal quantity used to be twice as big ,along with the menu which is only a short list and yet charged a premium price. Shall I return , I think not.

Worst Indian we have ever had. Chicken dishes was served with bones - we have never had this and was so oily but tasteless. One of the worst dining experiences I’ve had. The food was just about passable (3 stars at best), but everything else was awful. Celebrated with a few friends tonight and the food was really good, the service was efficient rather that friendly but what is going to stop me coming back compared to other Indian restaurants in town is that we were told to leave (our table is required) in 10 mins even though there was only 4 other people in the restaurant!! Such a shame, as this could be the go to Indian in town 😕

A great curry, plenty of choice and options, Speciality items particularly good. Helpful staff can advise on options and are really helpful. Great atmosphere and a go to place for Indian food in Rugby.

Bull Rugby is a vibrant pub located just two minutes from the bustling heart of Rugby town center, making it an ideal spot for both locals and visitors. Known for its friendly atmosphere, Bull Rugby offers a fantastic selection of five cask ales, including popular choices like Greene King Abbot Ale and Speckled Hen. Patrons rave about the welcoming service, even during busy times, ensuring that everyone feels at home.
Lively pub even at lunchtime midweek. They serve real ale's and lager's the pub is near the town centre not far from ASDA.

Very good service and atmosphere in the Bull last Saturday afternoon.
Ian M — Google review
Proper pub and probably the best in town centre. Good beer, sports on various screens, pool, darts, good service and craic. I'm from Rugby, but lived in London for over 35 years. Prices here are half what I pay in the smoke. The place hasn't really changed in all those years, retaining its charm and atmosphere. I'm old enough to remember the town being like the Wild West back in the day. It's much more chilled now.

Fabulous atmosphere, great patrons, amazing amount of screens for any sport you wanna watch! The staff aren't too bad either, 😂 😂. Definitely worth a pint or three during a visit! 🤗👍

£17 for 2 vodka and redbull. The glasses used were small, red bull was flat and warm and no ice. No respect for the drink or customers. No wonder the pub is usually empty.

Fish and chips takeaway
Fast food restaurant
If you're in Rugby and craving a delightful meal, look no further than The Famous Mr Chips. This charming takeaway is celebrated for its traditional fish and chips, where every bite bursts with freshness and flavor. Customers rave about the perfectly cooked fish, encased in a light batter that’s never greasy, alongside deliciously crispy chips. The friendly staff adds to the welcoming atmosphere, making each visit enjoyable.
I moved to Rugby and live exactly one block away from Mr chips and have always had a lovely, freshly cooked meal , had a donat kebab last night with a small chips and it was absolutely lovely, your mouth starts watering as soon as you enter the shop , lovely and friendly staff as well
Christelle H — Google review
The establishment is renowned for its exceptional fish and chips. Mr. Robin and his esteemed colleagues consistently demonstrate utmost professionalism and gracious hospitality.
Shakeeb A — Google review
I will definitely miss the dire donner 'kebabs' and the rudeness of the owner. Not. There is a more decent chip shop down the road called the Extra Fish Bar. 🙂
Tom P — Google review
I have to say after living down south for 23years this is the best chippy I've ever had down here! The fish tastes amazing, never greasy. Chips always perfectly cooked. If you're in rugby this is the chippy to eat in- even if you have to drive a bit further it's worth it!! 😍
Andrea M — Google review
Nice traditional fish and chip takeaway and service with a smile. It's not often you find traditional fish and chips of this sort in Rugby. The batter on the fish was lovely. The kids really enjoyed their meal. Unfortunately they kept running in and out the shop setting off the door sensor, but the staff/ owners didn't mind :)
Tom G — Google review
Good riddance. Rude, ignorant and overpriced whilst also breaching health & safety laws with their microwaved kebabs.

I ordered Fish&Chips, Chicken & mushroom pie and curry sauce for the first time. I simply loved it. Everything was fresh and tasty. Met the legendary Mr Chips for the first time who was very friendly. The service was really good. The food was packed really well which kept the freshness. This was my first time to have fish packed in a traditional Fish&Chips box :) . Thank you all for a lovely experience.
Hurshvardhan S — Google review
Bought small fish and chips, and a small fish. Got home and was looking forward to eating my fish and chips. Wow! How disgusting! The fish was small indeed......bulked up with overfried batter. The chips! Probably left over from previous session......small overfried pieces. Both my fish and chips, and my partner's fish went straight into the bin. It's extremely difficult to comprehend how the premises gets away by selling disgusting fish and chips. I was extremely disappointed! I called Mr Chips. Unfortunately, that was a waste of time! All I got was the same message about the opening times. No option to speak with anyone! No wonder....they would be inundated with calls of complaints. STAY AWAY. Made myself some toast. How delicious compared to the disgusting food from Mr Chips, Rugby I was forced to give the premises one star, otherwise I would be unable to post a review of my experience

We are fortunate to still have a theatre in Rugby, given recent economic backdrop. So good to see a live show, all the efforts of the cast, dancers, production and foyer staff. Cinderella was great fun for all the family.

We visited to watch Aladin and the performance was simply fantastic a mix of the traditional Aladin story with modern dance and music. You definitely must go to their pantomime next year.

The performance of Come From Away was beyond expectations. I have seen three professional performances (2 in the West End and 1 in Birmingham). I have also visited Gander and met Derm, the mayor of Appleton, featured in the musical. The performance was fabulous. Well done.

Fantastic little theatre! Have been here a few times now to see different productions, and I'm so impressed. The Christmas Carol was amazing! The cast, the costumes, the staging, the specials effects, everything felt like something you would expect in West End! Highly recommend!

"The Alex" hosts a changing set of art workshops and selling exhibitions by local / regional artists. In May 2024 it's ceramics - I think about 10 or so artists, and it's worth a visit- there's a good range. And you can have a drink and something to eat as you look round and maybe talk to the artists. I've always met someone interesting there !

Visited several times this year, enjoying watching the space coming together! Always lovely artwork and crafts on display, plus hands on things to try. Very friendly owners and the visiting artists are always happy to discuss their work. Lovely cake, coffee and bottled drinks (love the local cider). A quirky and interesting venue and a must visit destination (parking is very handy too, being very close to the multi storey car park). Looking forward to revisiting next year.

A lovely lady and sellling to cheap as well. Will come again for a drink and to see whats on offer and hopefully some more music. This is a fabulous arts centre with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. There is a great range of excellent quality artwork on show and for sale, made by local artists. If you like to support local and independent makers, then this is definitely for you. Keep an eye out for special events where you can meet the artists and watch them work. Sometimes you can even have a go yourself! The cafe sells delicious food and I can personally recommend the baked potatoes and cake! Cheap parking is in the multistorey next door.

Rugby Market is a bustling and vibrant indoor market located in the heart of Rugby, UK. The market offers a range of goods and services, including fresh produce, meat, fish, baked goods, clothing, and more. The market is well-designed and easy to navigate, with a variety of stalls offering a diverse range of products. The prices are reasonable, and the quality of the products is generally high. The market is also well-known for its friendly and welcoming atmosphere, with vendors often happy to chat with customers and provide recommendations. However, the market can become quite crowded during peak hours, which can make it difficult to navigate and lead to longer wait times at popular stalls. Additionally, some of the stalls may not accept card payments, so it is important to bring cash. Overall, Rugby Market is a great destination for those looking for a unique and authentic shopping experience in the heart of Rugby.

David C — Google review
A shadow of it's former self, since being crammed into the clock tower area. Which had a negative impact on people's attitudes to visiting the town centre. Sadly there's only a few stalls left selling not very much. It can be very crowded in the area on Market day as the market gets right in the way of anyone who wants to get by or visit other shops... Watch out for pickpocketers! There's a reasonably priced clothing stall which sells workwear that's probably the market's highlight.
Aaron S — Google review
Compared to the Rugby Market of Old there are very few stalls. However the ones in attendance do brisk business and there is a good selection of items on offer my favourites are. The gents clothing stall, The veg stall, and The watch repair/battery replacement stall All of which are great value and service is always with a smile and a bit of banta.

Art Museums
The Rugby Art Gallery and Museum is a vibrant cultural hub that invites visitors to explore the rich tapestry of Rugby's history while indulging in contemporary art. Opened in 2000, this purpose-built complex also houses the town library and the World Rugby Hall of Fame. Guests can marvel at fascinating artifacts from the nearby Romano-British site of Tripontium, including coins and pottery, or let their imaginations run wild by dressing up in Roman attire.
I made the journey to have a look at the current exhibition "Beyond the Canvas : A Celebration of British Sculpture " which runs until 7th June 2025. If you get the chance you should visit. It is a wonderful exhibition including works by Barbara Hepworth and Elizabeth Frink as well as canvasses by these two and Henry Moore. Its free too so there's no reason not to go and pay it a visit.

Volunteering at a 'witches hat' making morning in half term. Good kit, reasonable plan, and the kids seemed to have a great time, producing their own hat. The three in the photos were made by children aged 3, 4 and 6 - pretty amazing !! It's a very small museum, but reasonably sized Gallery spaces, and the collection has some good stuff.

A small free to enter museum adjacent to library. We have learnt that there was once a Roman village called Tripontium 4 miles from Rugby. **Local knowledge level up.🤗** For the size of the museum, it took us about 30minutes to view all the arts and displays. And this is us, taking our time. There are also space for crafts and drawings at the foyer.

When planning a trip to Rugby, don't miss the chance to explore the Rugby School Shop, which is an integral part of this historic institution. Established in 1567, Rugby School is one of England's oldest independent schools and offers a fascinating glimpse into its storied past. The school grounds are home to stunning architecture designed by renowned Gothic Revival architect William Butterfield, including the chapel and Macready Theatre.
The family and I had a super time on the Rugby Tour. Our daughter is a pupil at the school and I would recommend it for parents too as it was very informative. So proud to have been a part of this terrific school for the last 4 years. It has really helped to make our daughter the wonderful lady she is today. A truly home from home experience where she has flourished as a Music Scholar. It certainly lives up to it's motto of "The whole person the whole point". We purchased a great book in the shop and our tour guide was super and very entertaining. I should have got her name but know she was a grandmother with red hair who looked fantastic. Thank you. You made our day! 😁
Frances S — Google review
This interesting and entertaining guided tour is 'a must' for all fans of rugby and history. From a look round the Museum tucked away, finding out about 'the island' and the story behind it, to stepping foot on The Close (admittedly I have been done that before many a time, but there is still something about it - rugby fans come from across the globe just to do that), to seeing the amazing Chapel and Memorial Chapel, the Quad and one of the historic classrooms; it all makes for two hours or so well-spent. Julie was the perfect tour guide being thoroughly engaging and entertaining, and she clearly loves what she does and has a passion for the School. Just quite how she remembers all that information (?) must take some doing...it all adds to the experience. Needless to say, a tour of Rugby School comes highly recommended.

Thoroughly enjoyed the rugby school tour with our guide Julie. She was informative, extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and full of interesting stories and anecdotes. I brought my family and we all really enjoyed it. The school is incredible and full of history, and getting a chance to see the chapel, classroom and museum was fabulous. I highly recommend.

TOUR......the tour was very interesting and informative. Julie, our guide was lovely. She was kind, patient and considerate to all our needs. Would recommend this tour to anyone interested in the history of Rugby (the ciry) and the school. The shop was mainly for Rugby students, although there was a few items for the public to purchase.

I have bought a number of similar items from the Rugby School shop in 2017- mainly from the 450th Anniversary range. Each time my orders have been dealt with friendliness , courtesy and efficiency by the ladies there. As an O.R I have also been also able to reflect on past times in conversations over the telephone, and those have always brought back personal memories and feelings for the Almer Mater. Whinfield Play Area is a fantastic open space that caters to both walkers and their furry friends, making it an ideal spot for leisurely strolls. Great open space, plenty of room for walkers and dogs at the same time. Good football facilities for matches. Always tidy and grass seems well cared for. Enough parking most of the time, but can be tight when lots of teams plating or park run is on.

Great Central Walk

The Great Central Walk in Rugby follows the path of the former Great Central Railway, which once had an extensive network across central and northern England. This railway line ceased passenger operations in 1969 after being in service for 70 years. Today, it has been transformed into a well-maintained walking route that conveniently traverses through the heart of Rugby, offering a unique way to explore the area's history and natural beauty.

Herb & Spice is a hidden gem in Rugby, offering delicious Thai cuisine and excellent service. The owner is known for being friendly and accommodating, creating a welcoming atmosphere for diners. Visitors have praised the flavorful and well-balanced dishes, such as 'bags of gold' and 'chicken Massamay.' The set menus are highlighted as great value, providing a wide variety of options to choose from.
I can honestly say this is the BEST Thai food I have ever had. The flavours in every dish were authentic and food was all cooked fresh to order. There are fresh herbs and spices used in every dish and the best quality ingredients. The owner of this restaurant is a very kind and friendly man. He makes the time to talk to all customers and gave good guidance on what to order. If you are living in rugby or maybe just passing by, I would highly recommend you give this restaurant a try. You will not be disappointed!😊
Rumbi D — Google review
This is a brilliant Thai restaurant in Rugby, and the service and food are excellent. The manager/owner is the friendliest guy and every time we’ve been, he’s the one taking the bookings and food orders, bringing out the food and clearing away. He is lovely and very accommodating, and it is always a pleasure to see him. The food is also delicious and extremely good value. The set-menus are great and even better value than a la carte , and you get a great range of dishes. Previously we have ordered the ‘Prince & Princess’ set menu for the 2 of us, which is a lot of food! This time we just ordered off the menu. The prawns in the Black Pepper Prawn dish were very large, shelled, and it was a very good amount of prawns. The glass noodles are one of our favourite dishes and come with fried egg and vegetables. The ginger pork was very fresh, and you can’t go wrong with anything on the starter menu. The curries are also very flavourful and fragrant with a good kick to them. 2 starters, 3 mains, 1 side, 2 beers, and glass of wine came to £70. The only downside for me is that there are only two wines by the glass - either a Sauvignon blanc or a Merlot. The restaurant is cash only, or payment by bank transfer.

Had a takeaway from Herb & Spice tonight, great service as always and delicious food. The dishes we ordered were full of flavour and tasted so fresh. Best Thai meal I've had in a long time, thank you for a great meal!
Jennifer W — Google review
I used to visit regularly over a 10 year period whilst living in Rugby. I now live elsewhere and haven't been for 10 years. However it was the finest Thai restaurant I ever visited, and if under the same management I would throughly recommend it.
MrAlwaysBlue — Google review
The best Thai restaurant I've ever been to. We came 02/11/2022. Let's start with the food. The food was spectacular. It had so much flavour, texture, colour. It was fantastic. Just the right blend of spice and flavour. We shared the "bags of gold" as a starter, then went halves on "chicken Massamay" and "chicken nut" with the cashews, both with rice, and they were perfect. We came here on a rainy Wednesday night and it was very quiet, but the owner was so friendly and ready to serve us. He recommended food to us and talked to us about each dish. He clearly cared deeply and was so authentic. The restaurant is nicely decorated, the chairs were comfy, everywhere was clean, I was very impressed. Genuinely if you live in Rugby you should absolutely come and try this restaurant. We'll be coming here again 100%. Edit. Came back here 02/01/2023 and it was just as ace. This time we started with sharing the "chicken Wings" and then went halves on "duck curry" and "sweet and sour pork". This time we had some glass noodles along with the rice. Honestly I don't know how one place can get so many dishes spot on. The duck was so tender. The flavours so balanced. Go here and try it! Edit: Came back 08/04/2023 - still as excellent as always. Had the same dishes as the first time - chicken wings, bags of gold, chicken massamay and chicken nut - exquisite. If you've not tried this Thai, you absolutely should.

This place is amazing. The food is spectacular and there is so much to choose from. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options! Great cozy atmosphere makes you feel like you’re home :)

Ordered takeout from Uber eats. Was well presented and tasted great. The heart and thank you written on the paper bag was a cute little touch. I definitely want to visit in person next time. 😊

Had a lovely meal on Sunday for our anniversary. If you’re eating in, the restaurant is small but very cosy which was perfect for us. The waitress was very friendly and polite. Food was amazing. We got one of the larger sharing platters and a few other bits, and once we finished that we had to go for seconds! Everything we had was delicious and fresh. I would also say the price was very reasonable considering the amount we had. Definitely recommend!

Fantastic sushi. It has become one of our favourite choices for take away and pop in for lovely atmosphere and great food. Such a good attention to detail and a lot of choices! I have even change my husband as he never liked sushi but now he is crazy about these!

Highly recommend this place! Very cozy atmosphere, delicious sushi, and reasonable prices. Our order was taken promptly, and the staff is polite and speaks multiple languages. The eel and smoked salmon sushi is my favorite! Will definitely be coming back🤤🤍

Had take away of 3 vegan options and there are more. Great service, great food. Reasonable prices. Order direct and not on apps like UberEats as prices much more expensive if you order on there (same as all restaurants). It's a small restaurant with only a handful of tables so if you want to eat in the. I'd say advisable to book a table.

We had a really lovely experience here, sushi was fresh and tasty. The staff were attentive and the atmosphere was really calm!

Hamburger restaurant
Libertine Burger in Rugby is a top-notch burger joint with a retro video game theme and attentive staff. Their extensive menu offers something for everyone, including beef, chicken, vegan, and vegetarian options. Whether you dine in or take out, you can enjoy their delicious burgers and sides like deep-fried pickles, dirty fries, halloumi fries, and peanut butter tenders.
I been here first time, but I really like it. Nice staff with beautiful environment and tasty food. I really enjoyed my amazing burger. Happy to have this beautiful restaurant in our Town. Fries with cheese was delicious. Waitress Lily is amazing and very friendly! Highly recommend this place!
Prosmart E — Google review
The burger was good, the fries were okay (I prefer five guys Cajun fries if I’m honest). It was all cooked nicely, and I liked having the vegan options including bun. The service was really good, they accidentally messed up our order but were quick at resolving it and attentive. I wish they did their own tomato relish instead of ketchup, but that is a minor thing. Also, they had milkshakes but no vegan ones - I wish they had, this would absolutely set them apart from most burger places (I’m yet to find a burger place with a vegan shake).
Ale O — Google review
The absolute best place for food the burgers are priced on the higher side but absolutely worth it without any shadow of a doubt the staff are absolutely amazing and helpful and make the whole experience even better, but the food is a god send , the BEST burger I’ve ever had.. I make the 30 min journey at least once a month to try the specials which are always good the milkshakes are insanely good. But my favourite is the #022 chicken burger absolutely sensational. We’ve even bought the D.I.Y home burger kit which was a great valentines treat :) all in all my favourite place to go for food every visit is incredible!
Harry M — Google review
Just had a delivery Very disappointed my burger was not cooked After sending photos of my burger I received a phone call back to say the burger was pinker than they would like to send out. Was offered another burger which I declined as the rest of my family had finished their meal and I’d need to wait another 30-40mins. Was offered a refund. Will not order from here again.

Food is always incredible and service always friendly! Been coming back for years, the new breakfast menu as well is just as incredible as the main menu!!

Needed something to eat and my hotel had no catering, plumped for this as it was nearby. Absolutely fantastic food. And you can grab a frosty beverage as well. A burger and dirty fries filled the hungry void in a delicious seed topped brioche bun. If I ever end up in rugby again I will be back. Grateful for the friendly service too. Compliments to the catering team as well.

Stopped into Libertine Burger for a bite to eat with a couple of friends. That marked my fourth visit over the past 2 years or so. The food is fairly priced and has always tasted great (especially the burger with Stilton cheese in it). The menu is quite extensive and the range of drinks on offer is great too (I'm a fan of their in-house lager and thick milkshakes!) The staff are friendly and attentive even when it's busy, checkbacks are done in a timely way also. The toilet facilities are clean and tidy too.

Gem of a place! Banging burgers, better than any burger I've had in the UK so far. Quality and taste of products is great, and the buns used are superb! Value for money. Recommend a visit to eat here.

Nestled in the charming village of Marsh Baldon, The Seven Stars is a delightful country pub that became part of the Freespirit family in 2021. This picturesque spot is famous for its inviting village green, often bustling with dog walkers on weekends. Inside, you'll find a contemporary ambiance that sets it apart from traditional pubs. The menu is an exciting blend of classic pub fare and innovative small plates, perfect for those eager to explore fresh and seasonal flavors.
This pub is such a gem in Rugby. I was treated like a regular even though I’d never been there before, and Graham the landlord is the warmest person. Good beer, delicious food and a wonderful atmosphere. Will go next time in Rugby for sure!

What an absolute treat! I was on hour number seven of train cancellations, bus replacements, journey adjustments and I asked (tom) the station assistant where I could have a pint while I waited for the next connection and 7 ⭐ was the recommendation. My backside had barely touched a seat before I was greeted by a local gentleman and honestly, I would have gladly missed another train if my wait was spent there. So refreshing. 😁

Would I go back? Absolutely. It’s one of those pubs you tell people about once you’ve been, and then find yourself going back again to see the slightly mental barmaid Emma Lord - very welcoming and friendly 😀

Day 4

Off the beaten path
For day 4, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Hillmorton Locks. Not quite as popular as Caldecott Park, but still highly rated among many travelers. Accounting for getting around and average time spent, today’s activities could take about 7 hours.

Just Stunning throughout the year, a place of peace and quiet. No excuse not to explore this area. As well as the two other locks further afield. Great for everybody😃🦆🐔
Grey R — Google review
A very well known and well kept set of locks which has seen some decent investment spent on the actual locks themselves over the years, with a basin in between for overnight stays and local shopping. You will find a nice little cafe on the lock keepers side of the locks that's worth a visit, also corner shops that are only a walking distance south from the locks. Wide well kept towpaths with plenty of moorings.

Passed through on a narrowboat. Moored nearby and visited the cafe at the locks. Very reasonable priced. There are very helpful volunteers on the bottom lock. Worthy of a visit to watch the boats pass through the locks. Plenty of seating at the cafe overlooking the bottom lock.

Frequently used park by local residents for dog walking, skatepark and children's playground. There are benches to sit on around the perimeter, goal posts for football practice. Dog bins emptied regularly. It's great that sections of grass have been left for insects and pollinators. Lovely bulb display in springtime.
Mark H — Google review
Great place for the kids and dog walking. It's nice now they have taken the eye saw building down and you can see the good work that is being done to make the ground where it stood look good. My only gripe is that the teenagers use the park at night as a gathering place to smoke skunk weed and it stinks the neighbour how out. They need to take the tin mushroom down to stop this.
Diane R — Google review
A good place to walk your dog's, there is a small play area for young children under supervision and a skateboard area aswell. They have recently demolished the changing room/ toilets as they were being abused by youths and rightly so.

Fish and chips takeaway
Fast food restaurant
Waves Fish and Chips is a must-visit destination for anyone who appreciates the classic combination of fish and chips. This charming eatery consistently delivers an exceptional dining experience, with its golden, crispy batter enveloping tender, flaky fish. The chips are equally impressive—crispy on the outside yet fluffy within. Not only does Waves excel in food quality, but it also boasts friendly service that adds to the welcoming atmosphere.
Waves is a true gem for fish and chips enthusiasts. Their consistency is unmatched, and every visit feels like a warm, familiar treat. The batter is perfectly golden and crispy, encasing beautifully flaky fish, while the chips are always cooked to perfection—crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Pair this with their impeccable service and you have an experience that never disappoints. If you're looking for a spot that serves classic fish and chips done right, Waves is the place to be. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates quality and reliability in every bite.

Don't go for already cooked fish, and don't ask for lots of salt n vinegar, they ended up totally over salting the fish so much it was in edible. Cheesey chips ok, but some chips were hard on the middle i.e. undercooked. This place is a kebab shop (as they have a few variations) not a quality chippy in my opinion
Joe H — Google review
Disappointing. I phoned ahead in hope to just come pick up and pay as you would expect. There's a small queue and with 5 staff you'd think it would be efficient and good service but I waited for after several people in the ordering line was served before I had to tell someone that I'm picking up a phone order. No-one had a clue and the guy found an A4 note pad on the way side with my order. He had difficulty reading it and I had to repeat several times what I ordered. I had ordered 2x large fish and chips and a child meal jumbo sausage and chips. I had to wait another 5 mins. I might as well have just been in the queue it would have been faster! I guess people in the neighborhood are aware of that. Not only that, the adult portions of chips is not large, barely medium! Not coming here anymore and there are lots of other options in Rugby. The Wave is only conveniently closed but will be going to Bilton Chippy as I know they're better service and portions.
SteveLiel W — Google review
very good and efficient - although the young lady who served me was taking to her colleague when handing over the food, at £3.50 for a bag of chips that feed three of us, is remarkable compared to my nearest establishment, I would have to pay £5.60 to get close to the same portion size. The fish when cooked to order is lovely and the kebabs are really lovely and good portion size, have not tried the pizzas but look good out of a stone oven.
Gordon G — Google review
Absolutely has to be the best chip shop. As a celiac, I am fussy about where I eat but the super friendly staff always welcome us when we walk in and make us fresh gluten free food with portions to last us for days. Beautiful fresh quality food. Highly recommended for all

Hillmorton Fish Saloon is a gem for those seeking quality gluten-free options, offering an impressive selection that includes fish and chips, doner kebabs, curry sauce, and battered sausages. The establishment prides itself on its commitment to customer care, especially for local patrons who appreciate the friendly atmosphere—even if it means waiting in line. While the prices may be slightly higher than other chip shops nearby, many believe it's worth it for the freshness and flavor of the food.
This has to be the absolute best Fish and Chip plus everything else shop for miles. Top quality food, huge portions, reasonable prices but above all great service too. Highly recommended.

Ordered for the first time being that they do “gluten free” on a Wednesday. Everything ordered was cold upon collection - apart from the gluten free fish. I have to say the gluten free fish was lovely & piping hot but chips (both gluten free & normal for my husband) were cold & not enjoyable, hardly cooked if anything. All other items were also cold. Don’t do reviews much but as finding gluten free takeaways is difficult & that this is raved about being “one of the best chippy in rugby” feel I must. Will not be hurrying back. Sorry.

4 of us drove all the way from leamington spa to have the home made Donner. I had a large fish in the shop. Probably the best fish ive ever eaten. The batter was perfection. Allso had a steak &kidney pie wich was full of meat. The Donner kebabs were the best we have ever eaten, thats why we drive all the way from leamington to rugby. You will not be disappointed guaranteed.

Food well for 3 days been taking chicken kebabs and it's really good not so spicy but with the combination of sauces it's just really good. Service I can't say a bad word pretty quick, and no one had any problems with me taking a kebab in a wrap with chips instead of salad so really good service. Atmosphere well it's like a typical chip shop but as I said earlier service makes it really good.

Had a delivery, very swift but £3.50 for a limp (suspect microwaved) beef and onion pasty is both punchy on cost and frankly lazy in execution. The chips really quite limp, used to love brownsover chippy but its been on the downturn for sometime.

So pleased to see this restaurant back, the food is amazing! Some of the best curries I've had anywhere. With a lot of restaurants you can tell that all the crries are just the same base sauce, but not here. Every curry is different. Family and friends always want an Exotica when they come to stay, so don't just take my word for it. Few teething troubles with the ordering, but they're just starting back up following their move so give them a chance.

Centenary Park is a delightful oasis that caters to visitors of all ages, making it an ideal spot for families and fitness enthusiasts alike. With its expansive green spaces, it's perfect for leisurely walks or energetic runs, and dog owners will appreciate the ample room for their furry friends to roam. The park features a modern play area designed specifically for children, complete with various equipment that encourages active play.
There’s plenty to do in the park and a nice little section of cardio workout matches and a nice big place to run around or walk the dogs and it’s very clean and quite quiet and relaxing but also quite nice place to sit and enjoy the large areas of nature. Great place for any age.

It is beautiful and it's lovely to see children playing in the play area, its great for walking your dog, we don't live far from it and it's pretty much like being in the countryside. Highly recommended 👌
Katie W — Google review
Great little park with plenty for most ages of children. My daughter particularly likes the low down wooden park, just a shame it's hidden from view and the teenagers hang around there, not doing anything wrong mind you, just intimidating for young children.
Steve H — Google review
Local park very nice place to visit. Clean tidy and well maintained by the local council. Great football and basketball area. Exercise equipment and climbing ropes and sand pit.
Teresa D — Google review
Lovely play area, very new and modern. Only problem being modern toddler swings are of rubbish design, with only very short chains, that do not swing very far.
Mary T — Google review
Good range of play equipment for kids of all ages, including outdoor gym for adults. Also basketball court, picnic area, some nice grassy areas and a special wildlife garden
Alex B — Google review
Pleasant park, my grandkids love going there when they visit. Down side is there is no parking only outside of the local residents houses if there is a space.
Jane B — Google review
A relatively new park with new modern play area with plenty to do for children, there is even exercise machines for adults, a nice attractive place to come with the kids to kill a bit of time

One of the best playgrounds in the Rugby area. There is lots to do here. My boys love to bring their bikes and balls here to play. The equipment is modern and lovely and the park is clearly enjoyed by many children. The I Play game is fun too.

Love a gentle stroll around. Great for kids in play areas and football pitch

Very good skatepark, football pitch, running track, basketball court, reaction time game (Iplay) teens/kids park and toddler/babies park.
Sophie S — Google review
Large space but very under designed. Only a small play area despite the over all sign of the site. Separate enclosed area for younger children is a great positive. Having some things such as the zip line at the complete opposite end of the very large site makes it very annoying with children who want to go back and forth between different things.
Ian M — Google review
Great park, good little area for young children specifically, but also large space for football or similar games, and a corner of the park dedicated to a skating area.

A really enjoyable place to visit, packed with all kinds of old memorabilia. Some open days have old traction engines as exhibits. Excellent time for children and adults.

We often think of charity shops full of older people and clothes that are out of date. I can tell you this can't be further from the truth! You can get lots of serious bargains as I can tell you. I find it very difficult to come in and not buy multiple items because of the prices. The staff are bubbly, funny and very polite. They are always available to talk and just have a laugh with. Cannot recommend this shop anymore!
Sukhdev M — Google review
Jade and her team, manage this very large Charity Shop, which includes furniture and electrical goods. All these heavy goods have to be manoeuvred in, out, and around the shop….no easy task.! Especially with a very busy customer footfall.! Health & safety is so obviously a top consideration on these occasions. I make regular desperate purchases ; some furniture, in the past, and recently, Jade & Lorraine organised the quick & efficient delivery to my home of a Fridge freezer. I have known Bletchley for many years, and love to visit its increasingly multi cultural atmosphere on a regular basis. This Sue Ryder Shop is managed by Jade to create and maintain a good community atmosphere, and I am always so impressed by the friendly, efficient, helpful and good humoured staff in this Shop….. ……..7 days a week ! The shop has a large footfall, and, English is not always the customers first language, but it doesn’t affect the respect & kindness those people receive.. Well Done Jade & Co..!

Omg The ladies are absolutely amazing and helpful. I can not walk pass without purchasing anything. The customer is great! Jade in Milton Keynes is an absolute darling.
HOUSE D — Google review
Really easy to donate small goods to the shop. No need to book in advance online, like other local charities. Was able to drive to the back of the shop and Jade was really helpful taking stuff off the car for me. Also, she was really grateful for the bits from my Aunty’s house: clothing, small side table, kitchenware, ornaments, bric a brac. I’m so grateful to have been able to offload so much so easily, as it’s really stressful clearing a loved one’s house, especially when you don’t live locally. Thank you so much. More donations to come in the next week.

If you're ever in Rugby, UK, make sure to stop by Fishsmiths for a delightful seafood experience. This local gem is known for its freshly cooked battered cod fillets that are perfectly crispy when you take them home and give them a quick reheat. The generous portions of chips come separately, ensuring they stay deliciously crisp without any sogginess. Diners rave about the flavorful curry sauce that pairs beautifully with their meals.
You would want the person who served us to work for you. She was helpful, friendly and welcoming. The fish and chips were excellent, the tandoori kebab 'glorious' (to quote the person who ate it) and the portions were huge! Thank you to all at Fishsmiths for a great dinner!
Siobhan W — Google review
Uncooked Cod - I bought a large cod and chips today and took it back to work. I noticed the cod on the thicker side wasn't cooked through properly. The texture of it was somewhat slimey and the batter seemed to still be runny. I have attached some photos. As there is no way to email the shop I have had to post on here in the hope that they see this review.

Let me just start by saying I'm a hgv driver and it's my Friday treat where ever I'm parked to get a local takeaway..... now I fancied fish chips as you do read the reviews and I selected here. The fish arrived by itself in a box lovely crispy batter (no soggy chips near it) the chips arrived in a separate bag I was surprised how big portion you get the curry sauce is banging I've had fish & chips all over the uk and I'd quite happily put this in my top 10 🔥 lovely food delivered ❤️
Becky B — Google review
I only went to this place because my local chip shop was closed on bank Holiday. Never again. The food was not fresh or hot. The chips tasted like they were from earlier in the day, plus the oil needs changing. The chicken cabab tasted dry with no flavor.

Ordered a chippy tea for the first time from Fishsmiths for my daughter and I and we were very pleased with the outcome. The best donner kebab that we’ve had since moving to the midlands 7 years ago. SFC was flavourful and not dry. Salad was fresh. Chips (which were on offer) were proper tasty chippy chips. Thank you to the workers.

Final night on the canal network and a fellow boater told us about this fish shop and co op! Co op was irrelevant but the fish shop was amazing! The food was to die for, i had a mediterranean chicken kebab meal! Staff and service were fantastic and came quickly as well! Highly recommend!

Placed an order for delivery, was told it would be with us in 20-25 minutes. An hour and 15 minutes later I’ve called up asking what’s going on to be told they’re only just putting the order together and it’s the drivers fault and not there’s so I will have to wait. Also told not to leave a review as again its the drivers fault and not there’s then she hung up. Rude and unprofessional

Really quick service, pizzas were ready within 15 minutes and were delicious. Have used this shop quite a few times in the last 6 months & never had an issue.

Ordered my lunch from there today was perfectly done as always also was cheaper than ordering from just eat by at least £7
Oliver H — Google review
Our pizza's came in a timely manner, however, both of our pizzas and garlic bread were cold and burnt. We phoned up and asked for a replacement. Which we collected. Our replacement was still in the same condition. Burnt!! Wouldnt order from here again.
Helia D — Google review
Nice pizzas and the garlic bread is nice. Customer service in store is a little bit rubbish but I order online usually so it's not an issue. Delivery drivers are very friendly and usually arrive promptly, they always want a tip but I never give one. They seem to struggle with the concept of extra cheese, I've put a photo of a pizza I had that should of had extra cheese but there are patches without any cheese, I think it's a dominos problem as I have this issue with all of the ones I've tried except the Amsterdam store in the red light district. Recently I've had two orders from this store and both times the pizzas were very good and exactly what I ordered, plenty of cheese on the pizzas and the garlic bread was great. Hopefully this will be a recurring event on futures, thanks people at domino's.
Klifford W — Google review
This is the second time we've ordered food to receive a call stating they don't have stock. Come on Domino's get a grip!!
Russel S — Google review
The owners/staff have no accountability or pride in there work and allow other people to take food that isn’t there’s !! Place is a joke and won’t even answer the phone
Oliver B — Google review
Customer service was excellent and helpful. Delivery was on time. My experience was vey good. I was an old customer and had stopped coming. I believe I will start coming back to this particular store. Thank you for a nice day. Pizza was delicious. The French fries were good.
