Geologic Formations
Area of unusual tuff-&-basalt rock formations, some of which have been turned into hotels.
Paşabağlari, which literally means the gardens of pashas, is where you will see geological evolution in action throughout millenia and the cave structures that people created in those times. The reason for naming the place goes back to the 19th century when the agricultural lands around the place were given to pashas loyal to the Sultan. You can expect to spend about an hour here and get some really good photos.
Reza N — Google review
Paşabağları is one of the most iconic spots in Cappadocia, and it definitely lives up to the photos! The fairy chimneys here are stunning — tall, surreal rock formations that look like they’re straight out of a fantasy film. Some even have little cave chapels or monk cells carved inside, which adds a special historical touch. It’s a great place for walking around, taking photos, and just soaking in the otherworldly landscape. The views are especially beautiful in the late afternoon light. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that it can get quite crowded, especially in peak season, and some parts feel a bit too commercialized with souvenir stands. Still, it’s absolutely worth a stop and offers some of the most striking rock formations in the region.
Daniel V — Google review
Pasabaglar is one of two sites valid for the same ticket of 12 Euro. This is a good site to stretch your legs. Nothing much to go inside and no signs describing the history or what you are looking it. Nice view from the top - if you are in enough shape, climb the route up on the left. Worth an hour at the most. Some nice fairy chimneys here but I think better near goreme.
Global E — Google review
This is often called as Love valley you may know why 🤣 This comes as part of red tour. The red tour often comes around 35-45 Euro per person maximum bargain. 😁

Picturesque views and easy walking path. About 1 hr would cover it. Worth the trip/ time for sure!

Looks good from outside €12 entry fee. We didn't go in. There are a few shops outside. DONOT BUY ANYTHING from there, it's a rip-off. Same things you get near Uchisar Castle for much less!

Rose Valley

Nature preserve
Rose Valley is one of the most beautiful valleys in Cappadocia, offering great hiking opportunities and stunning views. It features several old churches carved into the tufa rock, accessible to everyone. The valley is known for its unique streaks of orange, red, pink, and white rock formations that compete for attention.
The natural scenery is fantastic combined with the history of the rock dwellings we were blown away. Hiked an AllTrails circuit by hooking up from Kaya Campground maybe 6 miles all in. Besides the $10 orange juice (which we enjoyed) there was nothing bad about this trip. The trail got pretty slippery after the Thunderstorm but we loved it.
Robert Q — Google review
It was my last day in Goreme and I decided to go on a ATV Tour. This tour generally costs 20 Euros for 2 hours and they cover three valleys - Love Valley, Rose/Red Valley, Sword Valley. I found this tour totally worth it. If you have more time in hand, you can go for a trekking along these valleys as well which can take 6-8 hours. All these valleys are pretty nice and beautiful. On top of that riding ATV through these valleys was a pretty unique and interesting experience. Red/Rose valley has unique formations with red color and hence the name as red valley.
VIPUL T — Google review
Rose Valley was a great hike in Cappadocia, not to difficult either. You can choose to climb up rocks and hills to achieve better views and make it more exciting but it’s not essential. It’s amazing to see all the carvings and dwellings in the rocks, some of them are very high and makes you wonder how they managed to create these all them years ago! Most of of the dwellings are off limits but there are some you can get into and have a look around. Amazing to see some that have 2 stories and carved out stairs between the 2 floors, can only imagine how long it must have taken to make them.. It’s a 2/3 hour hike hike so manage your time, we were luck to get it just right and catch the sunset right at the end which was beautiful! We travelled with 2 boys aged 8 and 10 and they enjoyed it very much. There is also a small shop selling refreshments about half way through but I'd still suggest taking your own water, the shop just pops up when you think you are in the middle of nowhere!! (See Pics) We enjoyed this hike, no need to do it again but would recommend if your in Cappadocia! We decided to go it on our own, no tour guide and was reasonably straight forward, there are a few valleys and if you plan to visit more then 1 I’d suggest a guide.
The R — Google review
We did a 2h hike in the rose valley. Beautiful place. There is an immense church on the way that worth to be visited. The 3 cross church is nice as well. The landscape simply beautiful l. Bring good shoes the path is slippery sometimes due to the dust. As well as cash as there is a bar (with WC) half way where you can get refreshments. We did the hike with a guide from our hotel. There is a lot of path to follow, it can be complicated if you don't know your way.

Cappadocia is truly a breathtaking destination in Turkey. The natural landscape is unique and stunning, with valleys, fairy chimneys, and rock formations you won’t find anywhere else. The hot air balloon ride at sunrise is an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experience watching the sun rise over Cappadocia from above is simply magical. There are also many historical sites to explore, including underground cities, ancient churches, and open-air museums. The atmosphere is peaceful, the locals are friendly, and the cave hotels offer a unique and cozy stay. Cappadocia is perfect for nature lovers, history enthusiasts, and anyone seeking a romantic or memorable travel experience. A must-visit in Turkey!
Muhammad F — Google review
Rose Valley is one of several valleys just to the east of Goreme where you can hike through lunar like landscape with unique rock and land formations including the famous Fairy Chimneys of Cappadocia. You will see numerous carved rooms, old homes and churches some of which are very impressive. We particularly enjoyed the Cross (also called Crusader) Church. You can walk through Rose Valley by way of taxi drop off at the main hot-air balloon launch spot or by foot from Goreme. There are numerous hiking trails through the valley, we completed a roughly 15km walk loop trail linking Rose with Red Valley while starting and ending our walk from the Goreme town centre. Hiking leisurely we spent just over 5 hours making our way through the two valleys on the day. There are several make-shift juice stands, particularly in Red Valley, where you can stop for a rest and orange and pomegranate juice break. They sell water as well if you need a top up during your hike. On the whole, we really enjoyed our time spent in Rose Valley and would gladly hike this area of Cappadocia again next time we visit this area in Turkey.

All of Cappadocia is simply fantastic. Hire a guide to take you around everywhere. Once in a lifetime, you have to see these amazingly beautiful places.

It's just outside of town and well worth a hike around for a couple of hours, small churches and former cave home dotted around.

Cappadocia Voyager Balloons

4.8
(953)
Balloon ride tour agency
Cappadocia Voyager Balloons offers a once-in-a-lifetime experience in Avanos, the art and tourism hub of Cappadocia. The tour starts early in the morning with a hotel pickup to catch the sunrise. After a light breakfast at the company's headquarters, visitors witness the behind-the-scenes setup of the balloons before embarking on a smooth and efficient hot air balloon ride. Despite being crowded, the logistics are well-organized.
Mustafá tuncer was our pilot and he was great and funny. Professional company, 10/10 would recommend. We were lucky and had 16 in our basket when we paid for max 20. It was the perfect amount of people so it’s worth having less as a lot offer 28 people. The pick up and communication was seamless and we had absolutely incredible views. Amazing experience and a great company to go with. My only thing would be I don’t think the breakfast is necessary due to the early hour we had to get up, they could skip it in the summer months so you have a bit longer in bed!!
Abby W — Google review
This was without doubt a bucket list experience ticked off and well worth the trip. The staff at Voyager were helpful friendly and very customer focused. The Captain and his asssistant were informative and had engaging personalities. We could not have asked for more. The trip itself was spectacular and even better than what we had anticipated. The views and experience have made us determined to do it again if possible. When landing the Captain provided us with the advice as to what to do do in order to avoid injury. He landed as softy as possible onto the back of a trailer. After the flight we were provided with a certificate and a glass of bubbly. We expected a terrific flight and we were not dissappointed as it was 1st class at 420E it was good value.
Neil L — Google review
What an incredible once in a lifetime experience. We were originally booked in for our first morning in Cappadocia however cancelled due to bad weather. The bookings team rescheduled our flight to the following day with no issues and we were very grateful for the perfect conditions on that day. Stunning views, lovely team of staff, perfect landing. Thank you!
Madeline H — Google review
My wife, daughter, and I had our balloon flight on October 6, and it was absolutely magical! From pickup at our hotel, to the actual flight itself, everything was perfect. Our pilot, Hakan, was not only an expert with over 2,300 hours of flight time, he kept us all laughing with this humorous quips, and in awe of his skill at maneuvering the balloon up close to geological structures, in and out of valleys, etc. Somehow, he ended our flight by landing the balloon basket right on the trailer bed! Can't recommend Voyager Balloons highly enough.
Roy F — Google review
The Voyager Balloons team was incredibly professional. Great communication from start to finish! Our day started with a super early 3:55am morning pickup. Van was comfortable and it arrived on-time. Simple but delicious buffet breakfast. Mother Nature was on our side and the trip proceeded as scheduled. I would definitely recommend having at least three mornings available in case there is a weather cancellation. My wife and I opted for the ultra comfort 75 minute ride. A bit pricey but well worth it. There was plenty of room in the basket for both ourselves and our 2 friends. Views were out of this world! We had celebratory champagne afterwards and everyone received flight certificates. And our pilot Goksel was awesome. 👏 His skillful navigation, positive attitude and good humor really made the experience special. 5 stars all the way!

Fantastic - what a fantastic experience. They say "why travel?" ... well one reason is that it expands your horizons. And today, boy did we see ‘the horizon’. With a very early departure time, we arrived to enjoy the iconic Cappadocia “hot air balloon ride” … and it was fantastic, literally gliding across ancient, moon-like, pinnacle landscapes. There were 165 separate balloons in the air today. So colorful and serene. It was incredible, with stunning views, a lovely team of staff, and a perfect landing. Thank you!
Norm P — Google review
We chose Voyager based on the recommendation of a couple we met who were staying at the same hotel. So glad, I talked myself into going (I am really scared of heights). It was an amazing experience! Staff were great! We felt like we were in really good hands. Our pilot was knowledgeable, while also really funny. We felt like we were in great hands. The ground crew was wonderful as well. 10/10 would recommend to anyone considering going. Spectacular views and such a special experience all around.
Shannon C — Google review
Wow what an awesome experience!! Very well organised right from pickup at our hotel, payment of the balance, driven to the balloon take off site and the professionalism of our pilot Mustafa and his crew. They were friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable and made the whole trip so special !! Highly recommend this company to anyone thinking of planning this adventure !!

Specialty Museums
Güray Müze is a captivating underground cave museum that showcases an impressive collection of both antique and modern Turkish ceramics, pottery, and artifacts. As you step inside, you're greeted by a stunning interior design that enhances the experience of exploring art from as far back as 4000 BC to the Ottoman Empire. The museum features extraordinary ceramic works beautifully displayed throughout its space.
This is truly a hidden gem. I came to visit the museum shop only, not the museum to see if I can bag some local craft home. I didn't, but that doesn't make the visit to the museum a regrettable one. The underground museum shop with lots of terracotta and ceramic pieces are truly a feast to the eyes. Even if you didn't settle for anything, the museum shop itself is a piece of art. Highly recommend coming to this place. If you managed to get something, it's a bonus and pat yourself in the back that you didn't get ripped off some art galleries because all pieces here are endorsed by the museum and they house local artisan works. Very authentic experience. Massive collection. Very knowledgeable staff Aziz too.

Interesting museum with two areas, antiques and a modern art. Ceramic focused with a nice (and massive) shop where we were even able to meet 2 of the artists. Could do with a bit more of descriptions or information.

Excellent museum presenting a collection of pottery through several millenia plus amazing contemporary ceramic exhibit in the large underground cave. The store is huge with unrivaled collection of the high end ceramic items. Real gem!

We spent a few days in Cappadocia and stopped in Avanos to visit Guray Museum. Such a great experience – from the history of pottery and how it all started, to incredible modern ceramic artworks. We even saw a true artist painting pottery by hand, which was amazing to watch. The best part? You can try making your own clay piece and take it home as a souvenir. Entrance was 250 TRY/person and we stayed about an hour. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Avanos!
Cosmin A — Google review
A unique atmosphere blending modern art with traditional motifs. The museum is carved into the rock, adding to its charm. Visitors can also try their hand at ebru (water marbling) and pottery.

The food was good, but they have not provided any sauce with the fish. The service is horrible. Our servant took the order and was in a rush, and we had not seen him until we asked for the bill . Absolute must try in this small town with wonderful Turkish food The service, quality, and taste of the food is one of the best places we’ve tried all over turkey. Must try the meatball with cheese, tasty kebap and seasonal salad. And complimentary pita bread, side sauces, and Turkish tea. Thank you for the warm and delicious experience with outstanding service by Hasan and Kanarya.

Kapadokya Lezzet Sofrası is a great value, you get a lot of food for a really good price. The service was surprisingly attentive as well. They brought out free bread and free mezzes right away, which was a really nice touch. The mezzes were many and varied. We ordered the pot kebab with white rice. The food was good, solid and enjoyable, but not amazing, it missed some more flavor or seasoning, a bit stale. It didn’t quite reach the “wow” level for us. Also important to note: they don’t serve beer or any alcoholic drinks, so just keep that in mind if that’s something you expect with your meal. Overall: generous portions, great service, and great value, just slightly short of exceptional. Would still recommend for a casual/budget meal

Avanoss Restaurant offers a fantastic dining experience with a wide selection of dishes served in a buffet style. The menu includes various options for vegans and vegetarians, making it an ideal choice for those following specific diets. The restaurant's blend of traditional and contemporary flavors creates a unique and modernized version of Turkish cuisine. Not only is the food delicious, but it is also reasonably priced, making Avanoss Restaurant an excellent option for anyone looking to enjoy a satisfying meal without breaking the bank.
I loved that there were multiple dish options, each one offering an exploration and discovery, this included; the salads, meats/fish, and desserts! Best part? Meeting the owner and having his book personally signed. Even though he is a very busy man, he took time and was present with me as we chatted. An overall delightful experience for me.

I stopped by here to eat during Red Tour that I was attending. Lunch menu was in the form of open buffet and the variety of offered food was so big, that I believe that really everyone will choose, including e.g. vegetarians and vegans. I actually liked this restaurant more than the one where I ate lunch during Green Tour few days before. I tried from both warm and cold dishes and the meals that I had were good. The drinks are paid separately and it's possible to pay with a card. The interior had interesting paintings on the walls, adding to the atmosphere. Maybe the one disadvantage that I see is that the place is really big, so you might wait in some lines and you are also constantly bumping into people.

Experience the unique ambiance of a medieval setting at Hanedan, a Turkish restaurant that attracts traders from all directions. Step into an ancient Caravansaray and indulge in their delightful cuisine. This spacious eatery can accommodate large numbers of tourists and offers ample parking. The interior is adorned with traditional agricultural tools and historic ornaments, creating a truly mesmerizing atmosphere that is perfect for capturing Instagram-worthy moments.
Dinning in another medieval ambiance... Treat like a traders from East to the West who stop at ancient Caravansaray to enjoy your meals.... This is the feelings even you are having your meals here. I had my lunch before continue my day your around Cappadocia and this is how it feels. The food is good. Full of tourist as this is one of the huge restaurants that can accommodate many people at one time. Spacious parking area and easy excess. The restaurant itself is something incredibly amazing. Decorated with traditional agricultural tools and Ancient decorations. For me this place are beautiful and very instagramable. Great place to enjoy your Cappadocian food when you are in this Avanos area.

Huge restaurant which serves a lot of tourist groups. Main dish is fried cod fish, mashed potato, a pastry containing cheese. Tasted fine to me.
Rachel C — Google review
The place is unique, has high ceiling, long tables, huge dining hall. However food is average, dry. From my observation tour bus send the tourist here so it might mostly cater for tourist business.

The place is really nicely looking, with great decor and superb architecture, but the food itself isn’t something to praise, it’s not bad, but not great either, and the sizes are all over the place. The bathrooms are awful and in need of a good cleaning.

The food was good. They should invest in hot sauce; I like my food spicy; they only have pepper flakes.

Hanedan was a good quality restaurant with great service and prices. The restaurant itself is a mini replica of the Sultan Han. That was cool to see after seeing the Sultan Han a couple days ago. Food was good quality. I don't know if it's the same with everyone or if it was because we were in a group setting that gave us a limited menu: a dish with mashed potatoes and rice along with your choice of fish, chicken or veal; a salad that had no dressing; a vegetable soup; that pastry dish with cheese that's seen all over Turkey and some other stuff. The vegetable soup was a welcome change to the normal lentil soup offered everywhere. Service was great. Though that may be because they were expecting us as a group. Food was ordered and it came out real quick. Prices were pretty good too. For 2 vegetable soups, a veal entree and the salad, we paid 91 TL (a little over 15 US dollars at the time of this review).

1. We tried the red river trout set that came along with soup, bread and fruits-ice cream desert. I don't normally have good views on fresh water fish but exception this time around! 2. The service is excellent 3. The restaurant is considerably big and could accommodate groups of clients

Hanedan Restaurant Cappadocia is a chain restaurant, it looks historical and present in caravanserai tradition . Hanedan Restaurant provide tradition of caravanserai and Turkish cuisine with its antiques, the individually decorated halls looks amazing! looks like museum and you are the noble people.it open all year round for lunch and dinner. but the price is super high and not worthy the money, so depends on what you want, you choose delicious food or food environment.

Nestled in the heart of Cappadocia, Bizim Ev is a charming eatery that invites you to indulge in authentic Turkish cuisine. With a menu featuring delightful options like cli kofte (stuffed meatballs), liver, and Avanos dumplings, every bite is a celebration of local flavors. The cozy atmosphere enhances your dining experience, making it perfect for both lunch and dinner.
First off, really liked the layout and decor of the place. Really unique and eclectic - apparently it was an old home refurbished into a restaurant and even comes with its own wine cellar on the first floor. Service was prompt and good. You just need to pick your main course and you'll be served with some appetisers such as bread, salad and soup of the day to start with. We had tomato soup and it was nice. For mains, we picked grilled trout, grilled chicken (always a winner so far in Türkiye), and the pottery kebab/stewed beef. Was very impressed by how soft the beef was and the presentation- came with a flaming top. It was even better than what we had at Mozaik the night before in Goreme (supposedly the best and known for their pottery kebab and stewed for 4 hours but some pieces were tough). Last but not least, desert was baklava which never goes wrong. Overall, very satisfied and a refreshing change from buffet style lunches.

Quaint restaurant with amazing decor. Staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was very good - tried the chicken skewers, potato ravioli, mushrooms casserole and veg pot. The complimentary mezes were also fresh and nice.

We had a lovely lunch of Testi Kebab. It was so flavorful and the beef was so tender. Highly recommend. Really cozy and romantic space.

It was a nice experience, especially the variety of the food and how they present were impressive. They also shared background of local wines, helped us to choose the best wine fits to our taste. Thanks for the great food and warm atmosphere, Special thanks to Mr Ferhat who helped us very much with wine and kebab. 🙌

We had a wonderful experience at Bizim Ev. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff are very attentive. The highlight was definitely the tasti kebab – beautifully presented in the clay pot, with tender meat, perfectly cooked vegetables, and an amazing sauce full of flavor. Authentic, homemade, and absolutely delicious. Highly recommended, and we’ll definitely come back!

Food was very reasonably priced, nice variety of items on the menu. The waiter offered us more cold starters than what we ordered so that we could try a lot of their traditional dishes. Ambiance was very lovely.

Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area – whether you’re shopping or looking for a hands-on experience.

Don’t miss this! Such a fun experience with great local hosts. I really enjoyed learning how to shape pottery on the kiln and the hosts had me laughing the whole time. Not to mention, they offer to take great photos and videos. They are not pushy to try and get you to buy other pieces which is refreshing compared to other local shop experiences.

At that time, the first thing that caught my attention from the entrance was the painting ''The Kiss''. It was at the bottom of the wall, at the very end of the road, but it was the first thing I saw. I literally fell in love. It's like yesterday. I researched it after seeing it. And it's still my favorite painting. I realized that there was no relief in the original, but I liked the one made by the artist in Artevino better. (It still is :) Thank you for your efforts. Thank you to the person who made the painting :) I'm also very curious about what happened to the painting, to be honest.. Nice atmosphere and views of the river, with friendly owner. They were accommodating and prepared the potato manti with a different sauce so that it could be made vegan. It was very tasty! The sherbet drink was also delicious. I was travelling with Turkish people who helped me to order so didn't encounter the English vs Turkish menu price differences other reviews have complained about. Hopefully they have discontinued this practice now as it would drive down their ratings and harm their business in the long run (the main reason I chose this restaurant was the high google review rating).

Restaurant
Evranos Restaurant is a popular spot known for its delectable Anatolian cuisine, particularly the local jug kebab. The restaurant also offers entertaining Turkish night experiences, featuring lively shows and music. Guests can enjoy a variety of dishes, including grilled sea bass and flavorful mezze platters. While the food may receive mixed reviews, the vibrant atmosphere and engaging performances make it an enjoyable dining destination. However, visitors should be prepared for potential delays in food service during busy times.
Two of us came for the Turkish Night Show. At first, I thought it would just be a dance performance where everyone sits quietly and claps politely — but it turned out to be a full-on party where everyone joined in and had fun! Some online reviews complained about the food, but I actually thought it was pretty good — the beef was tender and even better than the testi kebab I had at some highly rated restaurants. Around $70 usd per person for a full meal, unlimited Coke and wine, and three hours of nonstop dance performances — what else can you ask for? A few things to keep in mind: - The show really does last three hours with almost no breaks. If you have high energy, you’ll love it; otherwise, you might get a bit tired. - It might not be ideal for young kids — some dancers wear revealing costumes, and there’s a nightclub-style tipping moment during the show.
Rason C — Google review
If you like experience with regional dances from all around turkey, this is the place for you... If you've got children you might want to leave before the belly dancers at the end. The food was good. Some of the best I've had in Avanos. The service was fantastic. The music was a little loud from my taste. They took breaks from traditional dance to give everybody time to get out on the dance floor. So if that's your thing, this is your place
Rhine S — Google review
We came here for a Turkish dinner night show experience for an adult family birthday event. I have to admit although some of performances were fun & slightly tacky, it did lack a little professional lustre overall. My favourite part was the whirling dervish performer, she did an amazing routine. The food was mediocre but the bottomless alcohol (we chose the white wine option) was worth paying extra for, as the servers are generous at topping up each time you finish. Some performances were interactive, like you can challenge the belly dancer to a dance-off, or they encourage you to get up and boogie on the dance floor between intervals. Perfect for tourist who are looking for just a light hearted fun, dance & frolic evening in Cappadocia.
Hee — Google review
I visited Evranos Restaurant during my trip to Cappadocia, and it was definitely one of the most memorable evenings! The restaurant is built inside a cave-like stone structure, which gives it a really unique and authentic atmosphere. We joined the “Turkish Night Show”, and it was full of energy — traditional music, folk dances, and even a belly dance performance. It was a great way to experience Turkish culture all in one evening. The food was good, though not extraordinary — mostly typical Turkish dishes like kebabs, meze, and desserts. What stood out more was the atmosphere and the live entertainment rather than the meal itself. Service was friendly and fast despite the large crowd. Drinks were reasonably priced, and everything ran quite smoothly. Overall, I would recommend Evranos if you’re looking for a fun, cultural night out in Cappadocia — come for the show and the vibes, not necessarily for fine dining

very very very very bad… cost €60 per person but actually I think it only worth €5… The food tasted like poop and they forgot our order! We have been waiting for 1 hr for the waiter to take our order!!!! The dust and little rock from the roof has been falling inside or food and drinks and clothes and everything. DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE!!! Shows are boring… Everyone left early… and btw before they take you to your seat, the manager will take you to a room for payment, is NOT a cashier, is an office room with computers and just one men sitting on the chair and ask for money, feels weird

There are 12-14 cold appetizers and 1-2 hot ones. Pottery Kebab is a speciality dish of Cappadocia region. I went for the Vegetarian version which was pretty average. The performances were pretty good and they keep you engaged by inviting you to dance on stage from time to time. The whole experience is a bit costly and can cost from 45 Euros or higher. But it was definitely a fun experience. I saved on some money by combining it with other attractions and using Klook Pass. I visited this place on 9th of April 25.

Turkisk night experience was extraordinary!!!!!! What are great event, first you arrive food is already on the table… boom!!!. Second, all alcohol is included!!!! Third, they mix the traditional dances and music with some temporary music. My night we had and large Latin contingent and they played some bangers!!! Got the whole on the dance floor and vibe carried across the venue. Fourth the show was interactive, they played to the audience all night. we loved the experience!!! Highly recommend.

Day 3

Off the beaten path
For day 3, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Cappadocia. Not quite as popular as Red valley ATV, but still highly rated among many travelers. Accounting for getting around and average time spent, today’s activities could take about 8 hours.

Red valley ATV

4.6
(788)
Red Valley ATV offers a unique and breathtaking experience, especially during the evening when the setting sun transforms the soft red formations into a mesmerizing sea of fire. The ATV tour provides an amazing adventure, with helpful staff who ensure convenience by providing hotel pick-up and drop-off. While some visitors found the tour to be crowded and dusty, others enjoyed driving through the valley despite the rain.
Stunning and an Indiana-Jones type journey if you go.to Red/Rose Valley via the Sword Valley which works for adults but also for children. In thia trail you have to navigate in really narrow and steep wodden and iron stairs in absolutely stunning narrow gorge that you see rarely anybody taking even when you are still in one of the most heavily touristy place in the world! The key to finding thia route is to take the right turn from the exit on the right of Goreme Open Air Museum, from the top of the road. There is a big instruction plate on the right of the asphalt rpad but the plate can hardly be read. We followed an All Trail app trail tp fins this entry to the route and not to get lost - it was absolutely unexpected what we found, a very adventourous journey well worth taking!

Red Valley ATV: An Adrenaline-Fueled Adventure Through Cappadocia's Otherworldly Landscape Buckle up for an unforgettable adventure! Red Valley ATV in Cappadocia, Turkey, is more than just your typical off-road ride. It's a heart-pounding journey through a landscape sculpted by millions of years of nature's handiwork. Red Hot and Ready to Roll: The star of the show is, of course, the Red Valley itself. The volcanic soil here paints the landscape a fiery red, especially at sunset, creating a truly otherworldly backdrop for your ATV adventure. As you navigate the dusty trails, prepare to be awestruck by the towering fairy chimneys, hoodoos standing sentinel over the valley floor. Thrills with a View: The tour itself is a perfect blend of excitement and sightseeing. You'll get behind the wheel of your own ATV (or share with a friend) and follow a guide on a pre-determined route. The pace keeps things interesting, with sections that allow you to open it up a bit and feel the rush of adrenaline, balanced with slower sections where you can soak in the scenery. Beyond the Red: The beauty of the Red Valley ATV tour is that it takes you beyond just the Red Valley itself. Depending on the tour you choose, you might also wind your way through other Cappadocia gems like the Rose Valley, with its blush-colored cliffs, or Love Valley, famous for its phallic-shaped rock formations (ahem, interesting photo opportunity!). Geared Up for Fun: Safety is a priority here. The tour operators provide helmets, goggles, and any other necessary gear to keep you protected. They'll also give you a quick safety briefing before setting off, ensuring everyone is comfortable and confident on their ATV. Here are some things to keep in mind: Be Adventure Ready: This is an off-road adventure, so expect a bumpy ride and some dust. Dress accordingly in comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes. Experience Matters: While no prior ATV experience is necessary, some tours might be better suited for more experienced riders. Check with the operator beforehand. Capture the Moment: Don't forget your camera! The scenery is begging to be photographed, and you'll definitely want to capture memories of your thrilling ride. Overall, Red Valley ATV is a fantastic way to experience the unique wonders of Cappadocia. It's perfect for adventure seekers, nature lovers, and anyone who wants to add a dose of excitement to their Cappadocia itinerary.

Great place to watch sunset at Red Valley. Went there during ATV tour. It was the last stop of the tour riding ATV. It was just pure grandeur of a scenery at sunset. A must do when going to Cappadocia!

Amazing experience. Don’t forget to bring sunglasses, mask or bandana to cover face, covering clothes and boots instead of sandals. There will be lots of dust and bright sunlight. ATV was quite easy to drive, if you can drive motorcycle or car there will no problem. The staffs were super helpful. They picked us up from hotel and helped throughout the trip and dropped off at the hotel, which was super convenient. Thanks to the team.

Was an ok atv tour. For the trail conditions there were too many atvs in a line kicking up too much dust. It is a cheaper tour so you do get what you pay for. The woman behind us hit the back of our atv 3 separate times instead of stopping with her breaks. Oh and someone got stabbed at the end sunset part where there was just too many people for my liking. I’d suggest a more private tour for sure but for 30 or so euro it was worth it.

A must do when in cappadocia, and recommend doing at sunset! I didn't get to because of timing but can only imagine the reflection on the valley because without it, it was breathtaking! You see tons of beautiful valleys and cappadocia landscape, a great quick alternative if you don't have time to actually hike.

Cappadocia, a mesmerizing region in Turkey, is celebrated for its stunning landscapes and rich history. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985, this area spans 40 square kilometers between Avanos and Urgup, showcasing extraordinary geological formations alongside ancient rock-hewn churches and underground cities. The valley is home to some of the earliest Byzantine churches, believed to have been influenced by Armenian architects who crafted remarkable domed structures like the Halacdere Monastery.
Amazing ballon ride, unique rock formations and underground cities. Sunrise in love valley and you will see 100s of hot air balloons. Sunsets in Red valley, grand Göreme open air museum. 3days are good enough to explore Cappadocia in Turkey.

Aryatus Şarap Evi, also known as Aryatus Wine House, is a charming spot in Avanos that offers a warm and inviting atmosphere for wine enthusiasts. One of the best local wine in Cappadocia. I strongly recommend Kalecik Karası. The owners are too kind, interior design is amazing! Strongly recommended!
Hüseyin Y — Google review
I've not visited the place personally but I've bought their wines and they are very good overall. I can only speak for their red wines because that's all I've tried, but all three bottles that I've tried so far were really good even though I prefer wines that are heavier on the tannins. Usually, I eat smoked meat with red wine that is tannin heavy to make the wine lighter. These wines make the taste of the meat lighter instead. They're not bitter, the acidity is a tad bit high but it's not too on the nose and they go very well with red meat, especially smoked and / or dried meat. It doesn't smother the taste of the meat while making it lighter. If you're going to pick cheese along side this one, I'd suggest trying gruyere cheese with it but not the ones that are aged because those will be too heavy in taste with these wines. I can't say anything about the prices since I bought them a while ago and the prices must've been changed due to overall inflation in Turkey. I've met the owner after I'd tried all the wines and had taken my notes about them. He's a very friendly guy who is also really knowledgeable about wines. They make their own wines and he only ever buys the grapes that he's satisfied with. He also told me that he's doing wine tasting events or if people ask for a wine tasting they will pour from different bottles and you can try the wines before buying them.

Simply the best place to hang out in Kappadokya. Just relax and enjoy warm welcome from Ezgi and Deniz. The place makes it possible to order food from outside and you can check out the whole range of pide, burgers, mezze they can ring up to satisfy your taste. Sometimes at night you get really nice moments of unexpected party atmosphere, people just dance and talk, relax and enjoy the moment in this typical Avanos holiday atmosphere. It's so great that this couple could settle down here and don't forget Deniz'Mom, smiling hard worker, who makes the bridge between the family wine estate and this charming oenoteca. Maybe one day you could even enjoy some time in this wonderful Hacıbektaş winery.

Chez Galip is a renowned pottery workshop in Cappadocia where visitors can witness artisans creating intricate ceramics and even try their hand at making their own pieces. Visitors have enjoyed being guided by friendly potters, learning about the history and techniques of pottery making, and exploring the gallery. While some found the prices to be on the higher side, many appreciated the beauty of the items and ended up purchasing souvenirs for their loved ones.
The visit includes a workshop of pottery- they explain everything and you have the opportunity to try if you want; and then they show you the pieces they have for sell (some of them very unique that worth hundreds of euros). I highly recommend this place 🤗

“What an amazing place! The ceramics are beautiful, truly original, and authentic to the region something very special. I absolutely loved it! I went with my three-year-old son, and he was fascinated watching the live demonstration where they showed the entire process, completely free of charge. They even offered us water and excellent local wine. Highly recommended one of the best experiences you can have in Turkey!

Very disappointed with our purchase .Bought an expensive limted edition piece made by Mr Galip himself. They claimed it had quartz and fairly strong. It was bubble-wrapped and packed in a box and carried with great passion with us. We were shocked to find it cracked inside the bubblewrap when we removed it from the box to display in our house. We felt cheated. We could not believe that it will be so fragile. I haven't heard back from them yet inspite of informing them. BE WARY OF BUYING ANY PIECE FROM THEIR GALLERY.

Wow! We had a wonderful experience at Chez Galip. We loved learning about the history of pottery in the area, watching experts create art, practicing on the wheel, and meeting the artists. The inventory is expansive and gorgeous. Your trip to Avanos must include visiting here !

We drove yesterday by recommendation of the local in town and we got the warmest reception, met Chez Galip himself and got to demonstrate how to do pottery. It was fantastic, We did buy a set because we wanted to and it was signed by Mr Galip, Today we went on another tour and was sent to another pottery house. It was more expensive and not as unique . come to Chez Galip you will not regret it. The prices in here is actually better compared to the other pottery place i will not mention I checked the price and what we got so lucky Also check out tiktok and video reels and search chez galip he looks like Einstein🥰🫶

Our taxi driver took us here. No entry ticket or no wait. This is a very nice place where you get to see the art of pottery and how ceramics are made from pottery. The employees are very welcoming and will explain you about pottery and the art they do followed by a tour in the shop where you can buy the pottery. Everything was well but i felt the products are overpriced. Please do check the market prices before purchasing anything here. Bought a coffee mug just as a souvenir.

We had a really good time seeing and creating pottery! Everyone was genuinely nice and welcoming. The pottery shop has a very wide choice of all different kinds of handmade crafts. The whole experience was unique and very very affordable and worth it! Would recommend it to anyone in the area of Cappadocia!
Elena C — Google review
After providing a nice pottery demonstration, the sales people will engage you in a long drawn out sales pitch to buy pottery at very high prices. They will of course give you tea, maybe a free piece of pottery that a previous guest made during a demonstration, to let your guard down As part of their pitch, the staff will reassure you over and over they will ship any bulky and expensive item, and you won't have to pay any fees. There have been plenty of reports that this is a lie You can't look around the shop without someone breathing down your neck. The owner made our tour group feel a little bit uncomfortable.

The Love Valley footpath via Love Garden steps is a picturesque trail in Cappadocia, known for its unique rock formations. The hike starts from Nevshehir and includes uphill sections before reaching the beautiful Love Garden at the end. The trail offers incredible landscapes, but hikers are advised to wear sturdy shoes due to slippery areas. While some downhill sections can be steep, they are manageable with caution.
(Translated by Google) We started from Nevshehir and finished with the stairs that go up into the rock. It seems easier to me uphill and finish with the pretty Love garden at the end of the hike. Very beautiful hike, incredible landscapes. Bring good shoes, it can slip. A few “downhill” sections that are a little steep but completely manageable. This place is amazing we just came to Cappadocia from Istanbul and we drove all over in Goreme looking for a place to eat, and either it was too expensive or the food didn’t look delicious at all and then we found this hidden gem, it’s located in another city which is just 15 minutes away from Goreme in Avanos The furniture and plates are handmade which make it more unique and I HAVE TO SAY we visited different restaurants in TURKEY 🇹🇷 and this restaurant definitely IS THE BEST ⭐️ If you can’t find it you just need to go up the hill and follow the signs you will eventually see it! AND AGAIN ITS WORTH IT ! And for the prices comparing the other places it’s the most reasonable place we are going to comeback on Feb 14 and spend our special Valentines Dinner here 😊

I really enjoyed my meal at Gloria's. The restaurant is cozy and has a nice vibe. I had a tasty vegetarian dish that was fresh and filling. My favorite part was the Turkish coffee with no sugar—strong and smooth, just how I like it. The prices were fair, and the staff was kind. I would definitely go back!

I had one of the most delightful dining experiences in Turkey. This restaurant is a family-owned business, and you can feel it in every detail – from the warm welcome to the care put into every dish that reaches your table. The food is absolutely delicious, full of authentic flavors and fresh ingredients. We were offered complimentary appetizers, a gesture that speaks volumes about their hospitality. The bread was extraordinary – fresh, fluffy, and warm, perfect to pair with the dishes. The desserts were just as wonderful, sweet and flavorful, and the coffee and tea were exactly as they should be – rich, aromatic, and served with great care. The atmosphere is truly special – the interior design is beautiful and intimate, with details that make you feel comfortable and relaxed. Attention to detail is evident everywhere, and the staff welcomes and treats you like an old friend. A lovely and unique touch is that, at the end of the meal, you can freshen up with cologne – a Turkish tradition that perfectly completes the experience. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic taste, genuine hospitality, and a warm, home-like atmosphere.

If you're exploring the charming town of Avanos in Cappadocia, make sure to stop by for a delightful bowl of Avanos çorba. This cozy eatery stands out from the more touristy spots in Goreme, offering fair prices and prompt service that will leave you satisfied without breaking the bank. The menu features a delicious beef-based soup infused with garlic and spices, reminiscent of Korea's Yukgaejang but with its own unique twist.
This place is really nice compared to the restaurants in Göreme. The prices were fair and service was prompt. The food was also good. This is a good place to eat if you don’t want to burn your money in Cappadocia. It is next to Total Energies, Avanos.

We were hungry very late at night. We found that this restaurant opens 24/7. So we went there and had soup and Köfte. The food wasn’t great, but we didn’t have much of a choice.

Good food, only one vegetarian option

Nice Restaurant for lunch with friendly staff and tasty food for fair prices.

Didn't charge for the water and salad, çorba was nice! It's including beef, garlic, and spicy soup which is very similar with Korean soup called "Yukgaejang". Bayran is much more traditional compared with istanbul's.

Staff was nice, place was a bit low on quality , the long haired chef/owner charged me an extra 75 lira just because i had no other way to pay them besides USD so he charged extra on top of the bill which is not okay. Salads, bread, lentil soup and adana were good but dont have the brain soup or brain salad its quiet disgusting. I wouldve gone here again but the extra money he charged me is a scam so i wont go here again.

It's a great place to eat. Not a touristic one, so three times cheaper. But it is clean and the food is very tasty. Totally recommended!

Restaurant
Nestled away from the bustling tourist spots, Cafe Old Turkish House is a hidden gem that promises to warm both your heart and your stomach. This charming family-owned restaurant exudes a welcoming atmosphere where every member of the family plays a role in creating an unforgettable dining experience. The homemade dishes are crafted with love, showcasing authentic Turkish flavors that will leave you craving more. From their renowned manti to delightful hummus and vegetarian plates, each bite reflects the care put into preparation.
We were here in 2022 and I am still thinking about how amazing this place was. A truly unique experience. Family dinner, one of the most authentic and enjoyable nights we will always remember. The gentleman who served us and his lovely wife made us feel like we were part of a family. Food was great and the atmosphere was even greater than the food. Thank you so much for this opportunity. Every time someone tells me they are going to Kapadokya I always recommend this place.

I will give an honest review. We ordered kayseri ravioli and chicken but their food was very normal and the portions were not big compared to their prices. We did not feel full and satisfied. The konafa is floating in sugar syrup , it was not really yummy. On the positive side, the service was nice and they were friendly.

Wonderful experience, great food, nice view, best food here, and friendly people🥰 We ordered potato hash, meat balls, pottery kebab, Turkish tea. All yummy! Definitely will come again if we visit Turkey.

We had the chicken & beef döner. Both dishes were great. Staff were pleasant and accommodating. We would eat here again

My humble opinion - it’s the best place to go in the village. Cozy cave, friendly people, 5-star service. The Içli köfte were crunchy and everything was good. Would definitely go there again. Recommend!

The Old Turkish House Café was such a pleasant surprise! The restaurant is tucked away upstairs, so you don’t immediately see the tables from outside, but once inside there’s comfortable seating with a lovely view. The man at the entrance was very welcoming and even helped adjust the curtain to block the sun for us, which we really appreciated. Our waitress, Gizem, was fantastic—friendly, helpful, and spoke great English. She even had pictures of the menu items to show us, which made ordering much easier. We tried the chicken in tile with rice and the Kayseri ravioli. Both were delicious, but the chicken in tile was definitely the standout. They also bring a fresh basket of bread to the table, which was a nice touch. The service was fast, efficient, and attentive—everything we had hoped for after a very disappointing experience across the street at Orman, where we waited over an hour and never even got our food. The Old Turkish House Café completely turned our evening around. Highly recommend!
