Beaches
Spiaggia Levanto is a renowned beach in Cinque Terre, easily accessible and boasting a long, wide seaside area. The beach is surrounded by lush green hills and offers clear waters for swimming. While the entrance to the sea can be rocky, the water is exceptionally clear. Visitors can enjoy fresh food in the area and relax with their families while taking in beautiful sea and mountain landscapes. Spiaggia Levanto also provides stunning sunsets and is ideal for leisurely walks even during winter.
Very nice and free beach, with the availability of renting sunbeds and umbrellas . We stayed at the free beach, was quite spacious, the sand is very nice and good for kids to play and make sand castles . The sea is a bit rough sometimes in this area, so I recommend bringing some noodles or floated if you are not a confident swimmer.
Sara B — Google review
So beautiful! Small bay with calm water good for swimming, beach is mixture of sand and gravel but very pleasant, few cafes/bars with their own umbrellas and beds to rent but also small free public areas too, free toilets/showers/changing cubicles, promenade going along the top of the beach, lots of parking (€2/hr)
Ben D — Google review
Very small area for the public part and lots of pedaling and pushy people trying to get you to buy knock offs or get massages. Pretty view but not somewhere I wanted to relax with how many times I was approached in 30 minutes. Children didn’t like all the rocks either, it hurt their feet.
Brittney B — Google review
Beautiful beach! Bring your water shoes- there are rocks. It's easiest to swim quickly over the boulders then there will be smaller pebbles. Go early for a paid sun bed - 9am when they open for a bed near the front row, don't wait too long after that generally for a bed or they will run out. One place wanted 40 euros another wanted 30. We bought an umbrella for 15 and sat in the public beach area. Much more economical :)
Olivia D — Google review
Nice beach, some free place on sand but many reserved paid areas. Long beach with big waves.
Arkadiusz K — Google review
It's not the most beautiful beach. The water isn't clear. We saw trash and feces swimming in the water. Apart from that I recommend bringing swimming shoes because of tiny rocks and pebbles. Also, be careful because, unfortunately, we had an experience with a jellyfish and a crab. The beach is getting steep pretty quickly. The view is really nice, and I recommend coming there in the evening, because there are way fewer people. Overall, a nice beach but you can find better.
Laurka — Google review
The beach is not sandy (stoney), which I like. Biggest disappointment is that 90% of it is private, and you have to pay for chaislongs & umbrellas 25-60€ per day. Public area is really small and you need to come early if you want a spot. Didn’t see any showers, changing rooms or toilets available for public beach folks. Also there are a few annoying people going around selling some blankets and they approach you every time they go by. But a Thai massage from a lady is worth its money, she’s a pro. Still, the biggest and nicest beach in this region.
Lili L — Google review
Beautiful beach. We go in the evening once the crowd and temperature goes down

Italian restaurant
Moresco Restaurant offers a fantastic dining experience with exceptional food and great value. The atmosphere is cozy, and the staff is attentive and accommodating, especially towards children. The variety of seafood dishes is astonishing, and the house wines are highly recommended. Guests praise the friendly service and recommend booking in advance due to its popularity among locals. Overall, it's a must-visit for delicious food and a welcoming ambiance.
Amazing muscles and ravioli! Owner very nice served us. Great house wine ! Would go back again !
Andy R — Google review
the interior is beautiful and the service was good but I was underwhelmed by the food. The octopus in the octopus salad was overcooked, rubbery, and chewy. The ravioli we got was stuffed with seafood and tossed in butter and sage. I did enjoy that pasta and that was definitely the best item. The calamari was lightly breaded which I liked but there just wasn’t much flavour. We also got fried anchovies because the server explained it to be anchovies with fries so we thought that was interesting but turns out he meant the anchovies were fried 😂 they were ok.
Christine — Google review
We had a wonderful time dining at Moresco. From the beginning, we were welcomed and greeted. Seated at a table we chose. We has the insalata di totani which was missing some lemon zest and parsley (this is my preference) then pasta alle vongole, pasta al pesto and lemon sorbet as well a tiramisu. A the dishes were delicious. The owner always comes asks if everything is good. At the end, the chef comes out of the kitchen and listens to the customers and engages in discussions. What a lovely approach to managing an outstanding establishment! Can't wait to visit again soon.
Farouk C — Google review
For me the best restaurant is town! Staff is really great (speaking English and French too), local seafood pasta and fish ravioli are stunning and the chef came to salute us after dinner. Much appreciated. Thanks for this amazing time.
Jérémy L — Google review
Tourist friendly Recommend the mixed fried seafood! Also tried the octopus salad (appetizers), I will skip it if I visit again. Overall a very positive dining experience

Amazing experience!!! The food was extremely good, the Sea food pasta and Tiramisu are a must try ✨ Moreover, they have very good house wines 🍷 The staff is very kind. And the restaurant looks very authentic.

Place is amazing, atmosphere was really cozy there. Staff was great, chef came out to greet guests. Food was so delicious and fresh that we went there two nights in a row. The variety of different sea food is astonishing.

Had some amazing food here! Went back twice in the same trip. The fried calamari were the best I’ve ever had. The servers were lovely too. You should definitely book ahead of time though because it is always rightfully full.

Seafood restaurant
Antica Trattoria Centro is a well-established restaurant in the heart of Levanto, offering classic regional dishes from Liguria along with a selection of wines. The trattoria has been under the same ownership for nearly two decades and is known for its traditional fish and seafood options, as well as a few meat dishes. Guests can enjoy a friendly ambiance and good service, with the option to reserve tables in the small outdoor space.
Best meal on our trip on Sept 19, '24. We had tried to get in a couple of times when we were walking by, but we finally made a reservation at 7 pm one night. We were the first ones in the restaurant, but that was kind of cool as we got served quickly. We shared the stuffed mussels (with a light tomato sauce) as an appetizer with local white wine, then we had the seafood risotto (could have served 3 ppl.) It was all soooo good! We shared a tiramisu that was also good, but not the best we've had. The servers were all nice and very efficient, and by the time 8 pm rolled around, the place was packed. Highly recommend!
Yvonne T — Google review
My experience with Michelin guide’s acknowledged restaurants is flawless service with an unique atmosphere and perfect food. However, although this restaurant has excellent service provided by excellent servers, yet the food serves, to me, as somewhat lacking. The overwhelming majority of the dishes I tried lacked in salt and instead relied on the customer to make it to their desired taste. The wine list is impressive, but not too many options for soft drinks. For dessert my tiramisu felt a little bit lacking with the absence of liqueur. As a whole this was a great dinner and I’d certainly dine here again.
Robin M — Google review
On our last day in the area, our hostess highly recommended that we go here for dinner. When we passed by, we went in and asked if we could reserve a table, and the owner was very kind. Even though he didn't speak English, we still managed to agree on when we wanted to come. I want to emphasise that if it takes a while to take your order, it's because there is a clear division between who takes orders, who serves, and who serves wine. So don't feel like you're being ignored; they know what they're doing and haven't forgotten you're there. We ordered a selection of sashimi and vegetable antipasti, which were very generous in size and really tasty. Then we shared the fish ravioli with lobster. Beyond the fact that the dish itself is beautiful, it is simply delicious and perfectly prepared. Keep in mind that the dish is huge and can easily feed three or even four people! Highly recommended. And another important thing - their sommelier is simply excellent.

Recommended by our host and did not disappoint. Very good food in an inviting, although crowded dining room. Sardine starter was fabulous, other seafood dishes also fresh and very good. Service attentive and friendly.

Absolutely gorgeous, both the food and service. We shared a seafood risotto followed by a dessert each and coffees...everything was delicious. Very relaxing atmosphere and from looking about suitable for everyone...couples, big families, young families etc.

Absolutely outstanding ! Everything about this restaurant was exceptional : the service was warm and attentive, the food was exquisite with incredible flavors, the setting was beautiful and inviting, and the overall quality was excellent. A true gem in Levanto that I highly recommend to anyone that looks for a place to spend a very nice moment.
Margot D — Google review
Service and atmosphere is good, however food is.. lower than our expectations. Especially looking at the price. Mussels were not cleaned well before cooking so we had to get some parts out of our mouth. Green pasta was lower than average by taste. Risotto was good, rice is amazing, but again.. prepare the mussels before serving. And the only part of lobster that we say was a head. Will not visit again

Absolutely wonderful meal- one of our best in Italy. Everything was so delicious. The pasta and seafood were perfect, everything was sourced locally. We appreciated the great service and inexpensive yummy local wines. The sommelier was so friendly and approachable. Very highly recommend!!

Macaja is a charming little spot located just off the main road on the beach side of town. The restaurant offers a wide-ranging menu with delicious sandwiches, including options with gluten-free rolls. The bruschetta and salads are also highly recommended, especially the generous Greca salad. The staff is caring and genuinely helpful, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Despite language barriers, the service is quick and polite. Guests praise the quality and freshness of the food as well as the reasonable prices.
This place is simply amazing. We had one coffee each day we stayed here and it was very good every time. Sitting here, close to the ocean, feeling the Italian summer vibes, lots of locals having lunch, and being served by a exceptional nice waiter. That’s what I imagined an Italian cafe to be. The latte macchiato and the cappuccino are both very recommended! Also the prices are also in a very good range. When I’m here well definitely come again.

Nice, unassuming restaurant on a quite street with many of the guests seeming like regulars. Prices very reasonable.

Absolutely couldn’t give a sh*t about you as a customer..Waiter was ok but owner or manager would rather have been somewhere else. Plenty of other places in Levanto to try, you’re just a wallet here.
James B — Google review
Not worth it for breakfast. Very nice place, very nice staff. But the breakfast is a rip off. We paid 13 and 14 euros for tiny pancakes covered in icing sugar, the orange juice was not fresh orange juice (but some kind of pinkish fruit cordial), the scrambled eggs breaky was quite small too and came with a slice of "fake" cheese and 2 slices of ham that look like the cheap stuff you buy at a supermarket. We were expecting to not be hungry still after eating, mostly for the price we paid, but unfortunately that was not the case. It comes with jam and Nutella samples, with a mini cup of small fruits. Based on the review it looks like this place is better for lunch, etc.

Wonderful food, hubby was keen to try the fish and LOVED the anchovies four way plate. Everyone else was very happy with their meal too. Great service.

Spent a night here in Levanto So glad we found this restaurant Price was very reasonable and food was delicious
Mavis L — Google review
The food was disappointingly bland and the service left much to be desired. The portion size of the French fries was notably meager for the price, and despite our requests for more, they were denied. We can't recommend this place based on our experience and don’t understand the good recommendations.

Pizza restaurant
LA PICEA PIZZERIA & BRACERIA is a casual restaurant in Levanto known for its inventive pizzas and craft beers. The menu offers a wide variety of choices, with some award-winning options recommended by the staff. The pizzas are praised for their excellent taste and perfect cooking, using fresh and high-quality ingredients. Customers appreciate the attention to detail, such as cute bear-shaped kids' pizzas and appealing plating.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fantastic Pizza & Great Atmosphere! One of the best pizzerias I’ve been to! The pizza was authentic, flavorful, and perfectly baked, with a crispy yet soft crust. The ingredients were incredibly fresh. The staff was friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. The restaurant has a cozy and welcoming ambiance, perfect for a casual meal.

Amazing pizza and great location. The prices are very good too, especially considering the quality of the food. The staff is also very nice and fun. We came here twice in a row and will definitely come again!
M L — Google review
We were so lucky to get a table at this busy pizzeria without a reservation. We saw many people get turned away from the door, so I recommend making a reservation. Many of the seats were 'hard', while some seats had cushions at this award winning eatery. The restaurant is very clean, bright and open, and their air conditioning was very efficient on the hot day we visited. We ordered cold beers to start, and a beautiful pizza and a Farinata (a corn meal like pizza that is a favorite in Italy), which arrived with a cream sauce and the most incredible pesto sauce I've ever had...that is now 'the measure' of all future pesto sauces I'll eat. This was a truly memorable pizza experience in Italy that is embedded in our memory.
Deborah H — Google review
Truly a 'deluxe' pizza experience, but comes with a deluxe price tag. We ordered the Gola (#1 place(?)) and the Profumi Liguri (winning). Both pizzas were absolutely amazing and I can see why they are award winners. All the beers are quite unreasonably expensive though. The place is nice and the staff are very friendly.
Peter B — Google review
I had great glutenfree pizza, mangiafuoco. My partner had regular pizza, Eccio. Both pizzas tasted amazing! The cheese and nduja gave the pizza a new level! Only downside to the visit was long waitingtime when we arrived, and after ordering the pizza it also took about 20-25 minutes to get served. But it was probably very busy at our arrival, and we also didnt book a table. Would absolutely recommend this place!!
Mathias D — Google review
It was the worst meal that I’ve ever had, when I was eating my pizza I found A PICE OF GLASS, and when I told the waiter about this she does not believe me and tellimg that is not possible. I had to ask them to give me another pizza for free UNBELIEVABLE. And after this whole situation they still added coperto to my bill. Since we enter the pizzeria the whole service was not nice to us and they pressed us to take the water. Horrible place, I don’t reccomend it. Here is the piece of glass that I talked about.
Nata N — Google review
That's THE pizzeria in Levanto! Prices are mid to high for italy, but worth it! Craft beer (regional) are also nice, ambient is modern with retro-feel. Pizza on picture is with mascarpone, prosciutto crudo and truffle 😁 epic! 👌

Only 4 stars for the food, The first plate 5 stars The pizza is 5+ stars Dessert 3- stars ( cheesecake) But it’s such a petty that such a great chef serve a dessert that’s not home made It’s better to not serve dessert at all than to give a low class dessert that’s why i give only 4 stars. ( sorry chef) The place is beautiful and the people that work there are very hard workers and professionals. Thanks for the experience 👍

L'Oasi is a family-operated eatery that specializes in delectable fish and seafood dishes. Guests can enjoy their meal in the bright dining area or on the terrace. While this review may not be recent, it praises the restaurant's outstanding cuisine and attentive service. The sardines in olive oil were particularly remarkable, prompting multiple requests for additional servings from an impressed diner. L'Oasi offers a combination of familial ambiance and top-notch service.
The restaurant was recommended to us by a local shop. We are a party of three and didn't have a reservation but we were seated right away. The seafood is very fresh. The price may seem high but the portions are generous so it's very good value. Highly recommend.

Roshy P — Google review
We had really good food and most of the staff were friendly and helpful but the boss lady really needs to improve her bedside manner. I wasn't sure if it's because we are British, but she definitely wasn't very receptive towards us whereas I noticed that she behaved differently towards other customers. That was the only thing which spoiled our experience.
Jason L — Google review
Unfortunately one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. Nothing was good. The service was bad, the staff unfriendly and the meny confusing. The bread that was put on the table was extremely dry and there was no butter of oil to dip it in. They didnt have the first things we ordered, so we had to take something else. Two of us ordered the fish dish, and for €18 we assumed it would be an actual dish, but when the food arrived it was only a piece of coocked fish on a plate. Nothing next to it. So sides. Nothing. We asked about it, and the waitor was rude and didn’t understand the problem. Apparently they had sides on another page in the meny, but they never thought to let us know when we ordered. The other two ordered a pasta with scampi. The pasta was untasteful and there was almost no food in the scampi. We were a company of four and half of us got the food first, then the two others had to wait for 5-10 minutes to get their food. The food was disappointing and not filling. But no one came to check on us to ask if everything was okay. When they checked on us after the dinner we told them we were dissatisfied, but they were rude and said everything was our fault because we spoke English and didn’t understand Italian customs. The cut nothing off the price and even charged a total of €16 for service charge.

The restaurant Trattoria Pizzeria Le Due Lune offers delectable cuisine, although the lack of coziness might be off-putting for some. Nevertheless, the appealing appearance of the food enticed patrons to dine there and they were not disappointed. The service was top-notch and the wine selection was commendable, though the sterile ambiance could benefit from a warmer touch. Despite this minor drawback, it is highly recommended for those craving pasta and seafood dishes.

We arrived around 18:30 and sat straight down, as they had not been open for long. However please book ahead, as they get super busy and we see many other walk-in's refused a table, as they were simply fully booked! The food is delicious, please check it out.

Food was amazing, incredible affordable (the cheese pizza was 7€ and the other pizzas go up to about 12€), although the spaghetti with seafood was slightly more expensive (16€) but very high-end. The quality of the food was great. The service was good, but not spectacular, the it is not always easy to get the waiters attention. Other than that the experience was great and the Spaghetti alla Scoglio (which I took) was absolutely fantastic and I heavily recommend it. I had some Pizza too, which was also great for its Price.

Had a delicious dinner at this place, the food was fantastic. The calamarata was the best I’ve ever had, however I did accidentally commit a cardinal sin and asked for Parmesan cheese to go on top... For that, I sincerely apologise 🙏 as a naive Australian I did not realise that was not the Italian way. Thanks for the waitress for kindly informing me of this so I can learn to eat like a true Italian and enjoy the flavours as they should be. 😂❤️

Located in the heart of La Spezia, Castello San Giorgio is a 14th-century hilltop fortress offering a rich historical and cultural experience. The castle comprises two buildings from different eras and houses several museums, including the Centre for Modern and Contemporary Art, the Lia Museum, and the Formentini Archaeological Museum. Visitors can also explore the Cathedral of Cristo Redentore and the Parish Church of San Venerio in the Migliarina district.
It has a 5-star view from the roof-top terrace. The museum is not worth the visit on its own, but I would buy the full-price ticket that includes the museum just to support the castle and the staff who provide a wonderful experience to the visitors.
Michael A — Google review
For some fabulous views over La Spazia, the Castello San Giorgio is definitely worth a visit. We paid for both the Castello and the museum within ( which was only a small amount more) just to support the venue. The museum is not a major element of the visit. To our surprise, as we were there for an hour, there wasn't another single visitor to be seen. I suspect most had crowded into boats and trains to visit the hellishly packed villages of Cinque Terra. The views alone are worth the visit. If you are put off by a potential long climb, just follow the main sign through the town. These will lead you first to an elevator, and then to a small funicular. Leaving your energy to climb within the castle itself. If its is always quiet this is a good place to shake off the mass of day tourists! We enjoyed it and recommend it.
Lorenzo — Google review
Visited the castle today, 26th September. Very interesting exhibits & information. It was also a superb panoramic view from the highest viewing point. It's well worth a visit. And only €5 entrance.

Perched above La Spezia, this 13th-century fortress is a must-see. Built to defend the city, it now houses archaeological gems and offers sweeping views of the harbor below. Bonus points for the lovely staff who’ll happily guard your shopping bags while you explore. History, hospitality, and hilltop charm, all in one.

It costs 6 euro for entry, and in my opinion, not really expensive for what you get. The drawback is that all descriptions are in Italian. On the bright side, it was not packed so you'll get to enjoy the visit at your own comfort.

The museum host several ancient artefacts from the surrounding area. The information about the artefacts can be seen in the leaflet that they will give you at the entrace. It also has a very nice view in the upper terrace! If youre a student, the reduced ticket cost €4. Id say its worth the climb from la sepzia centrale haha

An ok castle. Most of the rooms there are a musuem so you barely feel like it's a Roman castle that you walk around in. All the exhibits are in Italian, whichakes for a poor experience (most are not visually impressive too, so without Google translate for non Italian speakers it's not a very good experience). You can buy a ticket only for the terrance and skip the musuem, which might be a good idea to save 2 euros from each ticket, though the views from the top are, just like the castle, are just OK :)

The church Saint Andrew's Church is an intriguing architectural masterpiece characterized by its distinctive striped design. Despite its age, this landmark bears resemblance to numerous similar structures found in various cities, which adds to its fascinating appeal. It is worth noting that the building was accessible and unoccupied during the visit, highlighting its historical significance and providing an opportunity for exploration.

The church is one of many in an area that seems to have more churches than houses. Levento is a great area to explore with some beautiful seaside walks to be had.

Italian restaurant
Ristorante Antico Borgo is located in the oldest part of town, near the Church of Santa Maria della Costa. The area is rich in history and features medieval architecture, including the municipal loggia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Nearby, you'll find the Church of Sant'Andrea with its stunning white Carrara marble facade.
We were looking for a place to have dinner in Levanto without a reservation. The restaurant was busy, but the waitress was very nice and told us there would be a table available in 30 minutes. She offered us a high table where we could have a drink while we waited. The restaurant is nicely decorated, and you can tell they have a lot of experience serving traditional local dishes. We started with a carpaccio, which was just okay – the salad underneath and the creamy sauce didn’t really complement the high-quality white fish. A simpler sauce might have worked better. However, the rest of the meal was delicious and beautifully presented. The meat ravioli were amazing. They also have a great selection of local and other Italian wines. You can't go wrong choosing Antico Borgo for a great local dining experience.

The food was simply delicious! Everything was local and freshly made. Highly recommend the grilled octopus for a starter and the branzino ravioli with shrimp!

We had mix of vegetables and fish for aperitivo and frito misto for the 2nd. The aperitivo was amazing, very soft and well put together, it tasted amazing. Frito misto was also very good. The service was very good and prompt, we did not have a reservation, they were very accommodating and found us a table outside in 10 mins. The servers were very nice and smiley. The menu was short but very nice. The wine was good.

Overall we had a lovely experience. The food was fab, and came quickly once ordered. Gluten free options were brilliant and the staff were understanding to coeliac. They could use an extra member of staff as the two waitresses were overrun and it took a while to get seated and order!

Exceptional food! Octopus appetizer, Mixed fried seafood, Ligurian style rabbit were very good. But what really surprised was a pineapple carpaccio desert. Just wow.

Camping 5 Terre offers a peaceful forest setting with camping pitches and various amenities including a bar, playground, sunbathing area, laundry facilities, and complimentary Wi-Fi. Nestled in a secluded area near the sea, it provides an affordable retreat for travelers seeking relaxation in a natural environment. Accessible by car or train, this romantic destination features charming bars and restaurants as well as a morning market offering fresh produce.
Excellent location for a 5Terre visit. We stayed here 4 nights. The campground is quiet located. The staff speaks English and is very helpful. Toilets and showers are plenty and clean. It takes 15 min to the train station and 20 min to the see. A strong recommendation if you want to visit the area which is easy by train. We also went to Genova from here. Takes 1:10h. Easy.

We really enjoyed our stay at Camping 5 Terre. The welcome was warm and friendly, and we felt well taken care of and safe throughout our time there. The campground is very peaceful, with beautiful views from the terrace and plenty of trees providing shade from the sun. The washrooms were spotless, and the small kitchen area was convenient for cooking simple meals. It’s about a 1 km walk to the town center and only 2 km to access the Cinque Terre hiking trails—very easy to reach. Overall, a wonderful and relaxing place to stay!

A very good campsite. Professional and very helpful staff fully speaks in English. Clean toilets and showers. If you have any problems just ask, definitely they will help you! It's friendly, quiet, and cultured place. You could say this place takes you back to the nostalgic days of yesteryear, when the world was still normal. Keep it up!

We stayed at this campground for 4 nights while we explored the local town of Levanto and the 5 towns of Cinque Terre. It was the best experience we’ve had at a campground in Europe. The staff were super friendly and helpful, the facilities were top notch and although it was full and busy, the campers were happy, quiet and peaceful. It was idyllic.
Kathleen D — Google review
We spent 2 nights at the campsite. We arrived without a reservation, but the lady at the reception was very helpful and managed to find a spot for our car. We liked the campsite — it’s just a 20–25 minute walk from the beach. P.S. Don’t forget to bring mosquito spray!
Kitti M — Google review
Nothing special but a completely fine camping place with clean sanitary facilities. Hot water in the shower. Lot of shadow which we found nice. A bit away from the street so it wasn’t noisy at night (at least where our parcel was, further down I don’t know). For us it didn’t matter because we had a Vespa with us but it’s worth noting that it’s a bit far from the town center on foot.
Virág K — Google review
Nice camping to visit 5 Terre. Town and train nearby. Be aware to reserve up front to have a pitch.
Pieter H — Google review
Made a reservation for electricity, travelling with a person needing electricity for a sleep apnea machine. Reservation was confirmed, yet, on arrival no pitch with electricity was provided Edit after conversation with the owner: we were offered a room in exchange for an upcharge of the nightly rate. We would have preferred to be in the tents for the price we booked for but at least we have a place to stay, the toilets and showers are very clean, pitch is in the shade but a but rocky, good value for price

Punta Mesco

Scenic spot
Punta Mesco is a must-visit scenic spot in Cinque Terre, accessible from Monterosso, the northernmost village. It offers a panoramic view of the entire coastline of Cinque Terre National Park and its five villages. The hike to Punta Mesco takes about 1.25 hours from Monterosso and features lovely views, ripe strawberry trees, Holm oak, and informative boards about local flora.
Punta Mesco offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Ligurian Sea and features scenic hiking trails. It can be reached in less than an hour from the beach. While the trails are relatively quite easy and well paved, but some areas can be a bit steep. Nonetheless, it's a picturesque spot to appreciate the beauty of the Italian Riviera. Disclaimer: It is recommended to have a relatively good fitness level to hike the trail to Punta Mesco. If you have a lower fitness level, please be aware that it may take longer to reach the viewing point.

Phenomenal views of the entire Cinque Terre coast! Must do. Somewhat challenging, mostly up, but only 1.2 miles from Monterosso. One of the best views in the world.
JA M — Google review
Amazing hike! I hiked from Levanto to Monterosso starting around 8am. The trail is pretty rugged with a lot of steps. Bring lots of water and a hat.
Tim M — Google review
Lovely views at various spots hiking up from Monterossa direction to this spot. Took us about 1.25hrs to hike up here from Monterossa - someone fitter would most likely do it in much less time. Going down was much quicker - about 40 minutes. There were ripe strawberry trees and Holm oak along the way. Information boards on these plants along the way. There are ruins here. There are uneven steps on this trek and can be tricky in places. However there were children running down the hill (!).
Maria N — Google review
Not saying anything about the scenery here. Just warning travelers that the trail from Monterosso has been closed for repairs since July 2024. It's supposed to be closed "until the rock face is safe" so maybe check with a local before heading out.
Paul R — Google review
After going this scenic spot I would recommend everyone visit this place. It is quite a hike all uphill and steps about halfway through. However, the view you get once you make it all the way to the top is unbelievable! Pictures do not do this place justice so if you are up for a tough hike definitely add this place to your list. It does take about 45 minutes to get up and there are no lights so make sure you plan to get down before dark. Also make sure to bring water.
Brandon D — Google review
Stunning cinque terre bay overview. We reached the spot via a hiking trail from Levanto, took almost an hour, and extra half an hour to Monterosso. Better to take a walk in the morning, and bring some water with you. During summer the trail can be pretty hard due to hot weather.

Taverna Garibaldi is a delightful gem in Levanto, where you can indulge in delicious pizza and hearty pasta dishes. This family-run establishment offers a warm atmosphere and generous portions that are perfect for sharing. The menu features an impressive variety of personal pizzas, alongside tasty options like pesto pasta and fresh salads. Guests appreciate the accommodating service, even when faced with minor hiccups like an unexpected fly in their wine!
I was somewhat concerned by the overall rating of this place but we came because our hotel recommended it and I’m so glad we did. This ended up being our favorite meal in Cinque Terre and even Italy so far, though the trip is not over. I think Americans will enjoy the pizza here and it’s very reasonably priced, definitely recommend if you’re in Levanto.

Squid was as tender as I've ever had anywhere. Pizza generous for the price, excellent outer crust. Server forgot to put in wife's dessert order for their "chocolate souffle" -- which turned out not to be a souffle but what Americans used to call a volcano cake.

Restaurant
Osteria Tumelin is a charming establishment with rustic dining areas and a menu featuring delectable grilled shrimp, seafood pasta, and steak. While some patrons enjoyed the stuffed mussels that were reheated but lacked the desired warmth of freshly cooked dishes, others found the price of 18 euros for such a dish to be relatively high. The staff proved friendly and efficient, accommodating walk-ins on a busy Sunday night when other restaurants were full.
Superb restaurant, great team led by wonderful mother & daughter. We visited twice during our 5 day stay. Both meals & wine were excellent. We were offered fresh fish that was cooked simply & perfectly & filleted by the owner. Would def return to this great place.

Great restaurant, lots of traditional dishes (mainly fish plates, all fresh, - which I definitely recommend). Available seats indoors and outdoors too. Generous portions, a bit disappointed by the “Fritto Misto” due to the frying being a bit dry. Staff was friendly and attentive (some exceptions by the young girl who was a bit in a rush on the closing so was not even smiling or replying - seemed to not care).

Food was great, only problem was the price. It was slightly expensive. Other than that the food was really good. The waiters were super nice and they really made an impact on my personal overall expierience. It was slightly loud at times, since we sat next to a group of 12 people. Overall 4,3 stars for me.

We ordered the seafood risotto which is for 2 people, alone you can’t order it. The seafood was 99% this tiny clams that have barely any edible flesh, let alone any taste and half of them didn’t even open. No shrimp or any fish whatsoever, 2-3 small pieces of something that looked like calamari but was hard to tell because the risotto was much too salty and you could only taste salt. After spending about 10 minutes trying to get rid of all the shells, not much edible remained on our plates so we left hungry. I don’t know about any other dishes in this restaurant but the risotto we definitely cannot recommend.

Located near the beach in Levanto, we stumbled upon this restaurant while searching for a lunch place after hiking. We ordered a pasta and smoked swordfish dish for sharing, and were surprised at the taste and quality of the food. The portion size was also very generous for the price point. the only caveat is that the dishes were quite oily, but they were delicious nonetheless. Despite being in a location quite far from the Levanto station, there were quite a number of patrons in the restaurant during lunch time. Recommended if you are in Levanto!

Restaurant
La Taverna Del Metallo is a medieval-themed restaurant in La Spezia that offers a unique local food experience. The place serves meat dishes, pasta, and has an extensive beer list while playing heavy metal music. Customers praise the delicious and hearty food with generous portions. The atmosphere is gothic-themed with fast and friendly service. It's advisable to book in advance due to its popularity. The background heavy metal music adds to the unique experience without being too loud.
I stayed in one of the rooms upstairs and made a reservation to the tavern twice during my three night stay (it was so good that we had to go back). They service was awesome, we never had a problem making a reservation, and the food and beer were delicious. It's the best restaurant the area. The others look too touristy or not of good quality. This place sells some great food and the beer selection is one of the best I've seen. Beware, most of their menu is pork/pig options, although I do not eat pork products I was able to walk away from that restaurant full and happy with some great options to choose from. Though this is not a place for vegans or vegetarians.

We ate dinner here based on the many amazing reviews and we’re not disappointed. Like others, we were slightly tired of the touristy places and looking for something authentic and original. Taverna did not disappoint. Best service I have had in Italy by people that care and love what they do. We were offered some amazing local wine. We shared several plates and all were perfectly cooked, flavourful and tasty…not to mention very well priced. A truly memorable and outstanding experience in a county of amazing food. By the way, I was a bit worried that the music would be overpowering (never been to a heavy metal restaurant before) and it was unobtrusive and nicely playing in the background. Bravo team. Great meal and experience.

La Taverna del Metallo in La Spezia is an absolute gem. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and while great metal music is always playing, the place is just as perfect for those who aren’t necessarily fans of the genre. The food is outstanding, both in taste and originality, making every dish feel like a special experience. Service is flawless — the staff are warm, genuinely kind, and constantly smiling, which makes the visit even more enjoyable. If you’re spending even just one night in La Spezia, this spot is a must-visit and you definitely won’t be disappointed. One important tip: make a reservation, because it’s full every night. Fortunately, booking for the next day is usually no problem if you call ahead.

Even though I’m not usually into this kind of atmosphere, I felt incredibly comfortable here. The food was fantastic — full of flavor, homemade, and prepared with real passion. You can tell that the people working here truly love what they do. The drink selection, especially the beer list, is one of the most impressive I’ve ever seen. Make sure to book in advance — the place is small, and locals who know about it always reserve tables. One more thing: the photos of food in other reviews don’t do it justice, simply because the lighting inside isn’t ideal for pictures. But trust me, the food is absolutely worth it — delicious, genuine, and made with care.

Amazing pub a must have visit when in the area. The staff was just great, super friendly and welcoming. You felt like they wanted you to enjoy your evening. The beer just as good cold and refreshing! I had the scottish beef stew with veggies and omg i have NEVER eaten something like this. So tasty and delicious the meat melted in my mouth. My friend had the gnocchi which were also delicious. I don't usually write reviews for a bakery but this place is exceptional. I'm a bit of a bread addict (at least 10 varieties of bread in my home freezer) and this was a piece of heaven. Diving center
Diving Center Punta Mesco in Levanto offers an unforgettable scuba diving experience. The professional and safety-conscious team, led by Dario and his family, provides thorough briefings using a model to illustrate the dive sites. Visitors praise the personalized attention and guidance, with small group sizes ensuring a more intimate experience. The diverse marine life, including moray eels, orange wrasse, and nudibranchs, makes for an exciting underwater adventure.
What a beautiful place in a small village in between the chinque Terre! The Diving Center is located in the modern Harbour of Levanto. Easy to excess and very easy to find a parking lot near the center. The Center itself is a Family owned very professional diving center. Equipped with two boats and able to provide service and tours in every level of diving. It is a very unique place with a beautiful familiar atmosphere. The pre dive briefing as well as all necessary informations where told and shown in a perfect English, spoken by all of the stuff and Owners. We went out on a rock formation with two buddy teams each was guided by one dive guide. It was a very beautiful dive with Morey eels, small rays and lopsters hiding in between the stones, big groups of all kind of fish always around in a very clear glassy Sea. But even more special to me was the atmosphere! I felt like going out with a group of friends letting me stay with their family to share their beautiful place with me. After the dive back at the center was everything needed to clean the equipment with fresh water as well as very clean restrooms and even a shower was provided. In total I would love to give more than the possible 5 stars for a wonderful experience with a lot of fun, laugh and Italien way of life combined with a beautiful underwater world!! Thank you very much for this wonderful day! Hope to see you again one day in the future!

Mad Max Pub is an awesome establishment with friendly and attentive personnel. The assorted barbecue and fried combination dishes were incredibly tasty. Additionally, they offer a great variety of beers at reasonable prices. This pub in Levanto is truly outstanding and unique as it presents international cuisine not commonly found in seafood-oriented restaurants. It's an ideal spot for pre-dinner drinks, featuring a fantastic atmosphere and excellent waiting staff service. The place also received praise for its delicious burgers and enjoyable aperitivo.
Prices were good for drinks (6€/one drink), we took Aperol & Hugo Spritzes. Nice appetizers come with each drink!

There was a lot of chaos that day, but overall it was great! By chaos i mean the waiter dropped the glasses, then a lady on her phone bumped into a waiter and to top it all off, a ladys dog bit an old lady, they argued and then thy keft without paying. When the waiters relized they ran off after them, brought the old ladys propably son or somethin he paid, they argued again and he finally left. Pretty crazy expirience but i enjoyed it!🤣

Sea Breeze Boat Tours - Monterosso

Boat tour agency
Sea Breeze Boat Tours in Monterosso offers a sunset boat tour to Riomaggiore, providing breathtaking views and the chance to swim and snorkel. Guests can enjoy local appetizers and wine while taking in the stunning scenery of Cinque Terre from the water. The knowledgeable guides share interesting insights about the area's history and nature, creating a fun and educational experience for visitors.
We had the absolute best time with Matteo and Dimitri of Sea Breeze. They were so kind, professional and hospitable. Frederica and Matteo went above and beyond to ensure I made it to the right train and were flexible with us on the timing of the boat ride to correspond with our train arrival. This was hands down, the best part of our entire trip. We loved hearing about the history of the towns, snorkeling in the beautiful sea and having drinks and appetizers on the boat. This tour was completely private on a beautiful, clean boat with a bathroom. I highly recommend this tour with Sea Breeze.
Wendy B — Google review
We booked a shared Cinque Terre sunset tour, all communication during the booking and before departing was cleared. We had no problems finding the meeting point etc. Matteo was very nice and welcoming. The boat is new and very spacious. It is equipped with toilet and shower. During the tour Matteo explained all interesting facts about the famous 5 villages. But unfortunately the weather was not working with us that day and we had to cut the tour short. But overall I’ll definitely recommend Sea Breeze Boat Tours again for anyone who visit Ligurian Sea 🌊.
Jay K — Google review
We booked a private boat tour to celebrate a birthday, and it was FANTASTIC in every way. The tour was the highlight of our trip to Cinque Terre. Matteo, our captain and guide, was attentive, hospitable, and provided fascinating insights into the history of Cinque Terre. We enjoyed delicious Italian snacks with wine and soft drinks. We also had a wonderful opportunity to stop for a swim. The tour exceeded our expectations, and we highly recommend it!
Dalel M — Google review
I’ve been on some boat tours around Europe and this one was one of the best. We were lucky enough to be alone on the boat and enjoy it like a private tour, as well. Matteo is soo nice and showed us the shoreline of Cinque Terre and also took us to the most beautiful swimming places. We had prosecco in the boat and the best time ever. I totally recommend taking this tour. the boat ia very big and nice as well.

If you are anywhere near Monterosso and considering a boat tour, Sea Breeze Boat Tours is an absolute must. Our day with Mateo was truly unforgettable — hands down the best experience we’ve had in all of Italy. From the moment we stepped aboard, Mateo, a warm and charismatic local, welcomed us like family. His deep knowledge of the coastline and heartfelt stories about his heritage brought the Ligurian Sea to life in a way no guidebook ever could. The boat itself was stunning — comfortable, beautifully kept, and perfect for a day out on the water. We spent the day gliding across the most breathtaking turquoise waters, stopping at hidden swim spots that felt like our own secret paradise. Mateo encouraged us to make the day our own: we played our music, sipped wine under the sun, and swam in some of the clearest water we’ve ever seen. It was the perfect balance of relaxation and adventure. This wasn’t just a boat tour — it was a memory we’ll cherish forever. If you’re looking for an authentic, magical experience in Cinque Terre, don’t hesitate. Book this. Ask for Mateo. It will be the highlight of your trip.

Our boat tour with SeaBreeze was amazing. All the communication by email was prompt. Matteo was very friendly and gave lots of information during our 3 hr tour. The swimming was refreshing and the food and drinks were great. A wonderful experience.

I wanted to write a review of this wonderful company specifically because of their kindness- I unfortunately got very sea sick about halfway through our ride, and the kind tour guides let me off at the nearest village. I was so ill and really couldn’t have stomached continuing, and was so grateful that they allowed me to leave and were so kind about it. The tour was otherwise spectacular - the views are incredible and they provide delicious drinks and snacks. Our friends who remained on the boat had an amazing time. Thank you so much!!

Had so much fun on our sunset cruise! It was so beautiful to see all five towns from the water, and interesting to learn a little about the nature and history of the area! Drinks and yummy appetizers were included, as well as an opportunity to swim in the crystal clear waters! I also appreciated the music and fun atmosphere! The cruise wrapped up with a gorgeous view of the sunset before returning to Monterosso.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful burger experience, look no further than The White Goose Burger. Nestled in Levanto, this charming eatery offers an array of mouthwatering options that are sure to satisfy any craving. From their crispy fish burger featuring moist fried cod and fresh veggies to the well-seasoned pulled pork and classic burgers, every bite is bursting with flavor.
We just had an excellent meal at The White Goose Burger. It was worth riding the train to Levanto only to eat here. Burgers were so good! The seating is small, but they have USB, and electrical plugs at every sitting area so you can stay charged. They also have ketchup and mayonnaise bottles on the tables as well. That's a nice change for us. I would absolutely come back here again! Perfect!
Leigh S — Google review
I came here with high expectations due the high rating here on google. I ordered a veggie “burger”. First, to be called burger there needs to be a patty which mine didn’t have. Second the ingredients were really small and with this composition: - 1 slice of grilled eggplant - 2 slices of tomato - 1 piece of lettuce Now you tell me if this is a joke or not. I felt like this was the worst sandwich ever. (it can’t be called burger just because it’s between 2 slices of bread, which was also thicker than the filling…) DON’T go if you are interested in the vegan / vegetarian option. It sucks and a waste of money. I made the mistake for y’all.

Crispy fish burger is very good, fried codfish is moist and tender, vegetables are fresh and the tartar sauce is flavor rich! After one year, I took my boyfriend here. He said this is the best burger in Italy. We tried Pulled Pork and Classicone this time, very tasty and well-seasoned. They have really good taste in food and are good at bringing out the best in every ingredient. Must try!!!!!!!

If you're in the mood for a delightful culinary experience, La Bottega del Fritto is a must-visit. While you might find some discrepancies with their opening hours on Google, don't let that deter you! This charming eatery specializes in fried delicacies, and their calamari is particularly noteworthy—it's truly the star of the menu.
Opening hours don’t match Google. The Calamari only is the way to go…
Mike K — Google review
Ordered mozzarella balls and fries, everything comes from a freezer, and plastic bagged, dont believe me ? You can see the man in the back walking around with a plastic bag full of fries from the supermarket, same with the mozzarella. The mozzarella balls are full of water, and the fries are bland, the woman was also very impatient when I was paying. I still ask myself out of all the restaurants in that street did i pay 12 euros for freezer bagged food. Honestly wish I could give a lower rating, please don't go here.
Ben — Google review
Totally awful and expensive. We received cold calmati fritti. It was not fresh, gummy style, fried many hours before we came. Also the portion was really little, we were hungry after that. Waste of money - do not go there !!!!! It is better to order pizza nearby - in Pizzeria da Dome - perfect Italian pizza.
Joanna S — Google review
To be honest food wasn't bad in taste, but it was fried on old Oil, we have some stomacheke after eating.
Arkadiusz K — Google review
We had a very bad experience ordering takeout from this place. First, it took a long time to get the food cooked up despite it being fried food and no lineup. Second, they had no lemons available to be served with the calamari. Third, the calamari ended up being inedible, like rubber bands.
Johan B — Google review
Ordered a mixed fish Frito... Didn't even have a single prawn piece in it... It was full of anchovies...
Ashik V — Google review
I got the anchovy cone, vegetable cone, and “all fish” bowl. Anchovies were good because they had just been fried, but the vegetables cone was cold and they served it anyway… I didn’t notice any food timers as would concretely show when something fried is beyond its serving time. The fish bowl really means “mixed seafood” (anchovy and calamari) NOT all fish when the cod is sitting there and intended for the fish and chips, not included in the all fish bowl. I don’t care for fries, so I’m bummed that “all fish bowl” is not a fish version of the fish and chips.
Adela T — Google review
Had the mixed one with vegetables and seafood. It was a good snack to share, wouldn't eat it all by myself. Even though everything was deep fried it still tasted very "fresh". Not a very cosy place to enjoy your meal at because of the deep fried smell, however great food to bring with you.

La Gritta is a top-notch restaurant that offers delicious food, exceptional service, and a romantic seaside ambiance. The menu features delectable dishes such as tris dello chef, troffie al crostacei, and fritto misto. It's known for its outstanding seafood options and has recently undergone a change in chef resulting in an improved mainly fish-based menu. Visitors find it worth the short walk along the beach and consider it a highlight of their trip to Italy.
Excellent seafood restaurant between the sea and Levanto. Change of chef since last year according to our hostess has seen an improved and amazing mainly fish based menu and definitely worth the short walk along the beach. A highlight in our Italy trip!

To this day „La Gritta“ is the best restaurant I have ever been to! The food is absolutely delicious (especially the „tris dello chef“, the „troffie al crostacei“ and the „fritto misto“), the service is outstandingly friendly and courteous and on top of all that, the ambiente just next to the sea is truly romantic and relaxing. We came to eat here up to three times a day because we just couldn’t get enough of the amzing chef‘s creations 😍 If it was possible, we‘d give 10/5 stars!
Aglaja B — Google review
Booked last minute as I arrived in Levanto, where' I've spent some period of time every year since the past 45 (years). New management, after seeing the place closed for a couple of seasons. Had some expectations as I've heard the new chef is from Naples and seafood should be good. Well, maybe. Don't want to sound like the snobby type as I'm not. Give me a lousy looking place but with good earthy food at reasonable price and I'm in heaven. This plance isn't it. Very modest looks (bar the sea-view) accompanied by equally modest food at very exuberant price. Two antipasti, a very much forgettable "insalata di polpo" (octopus salad) with some octopus and many stewed vegetables accompanied by a basil-flavoured mayonnaise (not very ligurian style). The other antipasto was "moscardini in barchetta". Very good as a home-made food standard, a touch below as a restaurant. they could have done much better. Chose a "gran fritto misto" main course (deep-fried seafood) and it was definitely a forgettable experience. Tons of chips (WHO has ever seen chips in a fritto misto) two king prawns two, some whole squid fried (not even cut into smaller pieces) a few anchovies and some vegetables in a very average batter (not entirely bad tbh). Wine choice very bad. no list, no price, some local wines that any foreigner wouldn't be able to tell apart unless properly guided through. Service actually good, they didn't forget manners. Two antipasti, one shared main course, 1 bottle of wine and 1 bottle of still mineral water = € 78. WAY TOO EXPENSIVE. With some regret, must say that they're not worth more more than 1 star. Let's wait for next management.

We stumbled upon this pizzeria in Levanto by chance, loved it, and came back several times. The pizzas are delicious. The crust is thin and crispy. There are many different toppings to choose from, and the ingredients are fresh. I had one with gorgonzola and ham and one with anchovies. Both were super tasty. The prices for the pizzas are more than fair. The service is friendly and authentic. It feels very pleasant to eat here. We can only recommend it.

We tried it on the first night and loved it so much we returned for the next 2 nights. They have a huge pizza menu with over 70 toppings to choose from. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming which is a huge factor for an enjoyable meal.

This was such a great find! We were 6 people, totally unprepared with no reservation. We showed up and got a spot due to a cancellation. The kind restaurant people accommodated us. We had a delicious pizza, incredible seafood spaghetti, mussel linguine that was delicious, and yummy trofie pesto. Then we had squid with peas that was so amazing and squid with bay leaf and onion sauce. The flavors were made with love, and the people working there were so kind. The portions were huge, and the price was right. Thank you for this delicious dinner.

Absolutely loved this place. At first sight we had our doubts, the restaurant looks a bit hidden. But the staff was so friendly! Even though our italian is very limited, the waitress was very patient and helpfull. The outside section was a bit busy, but the taste of the food was louder than the yelling of the other customers. Great pizza and delicious pasta. Would highly recommend going to La Mela

It is a very simple local restaurant. It has a good variety of tasty dishes at a reasonable price. If your main focus is food, this restaurant is good value. It is also a bit further away from the more turistic part of town so there are less people and the atmosphere is more relaxed.
