The Wine Museum of Cangas del Narcea is a delightful and captivating place to visit. The museum showcases a contemporary structure that evokes the traditional art of basket weaving, as well as an authentic and historically significant wine press. Visitors can learn about the fascinating process of winemaking in this region through informative and engaging displays. Accessible by foot from Cangas, one can enjoy a pleasant stroll along the riverbank while heading towards the museum.
Really nice Museum, explains the winemaking process used in this area of spain. Also gives insight into the history of the area and how the locals used wine in their social life and culture. Staff were really nice. 100% recommended if you like learning about food and drink and its processes and history.

If you're looking for a unique experience in Asturias, Bodega Santiago is an absolute gem. Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting this charming winery, where our guide, Don Joaquin, shared his extensive knowledge about winemaking with remarkable simplicity and warmth. His storytelling brought the history of the winery to life while explaining the artisanal processes involved in crafting their wines. The visit was not just educational but also incredibly enjoyable—Joaquin's anecdotes made us feel right at home!

(Translated by Google) We visited the Santiago winery recently. Your host, Don Joaquín, explained to us the entire history of the winery and the process for making wine in an artisanal way that he carries out himself. We tried the wine and were able to clarify any doubts. A highly recommended visit and very different from the “typical guided tours”… if you go to Asturias, it is a mandatory visit, both the winery and the entire town of Cangas del Narcea. Its people, food and broths are something great and genuine. Now I realize that we were so absorbed in enjoying it that I didn't take a single photo 😕….

Amazing food and service! If you have to watch Real Oviedo fight for promotion anywhere, this is the place. Amazed by the hospitality and great food. Recommend to eat here and enjoy the service.

Full of character, vibrant atmosphere, great staff, tasty local produce, love the menu del día with calabaza soup from the home grown pumpkins. Highly recommend!
Philippa S — Google review
They serve really good traditional Asturian food with top quality product. The green peas are fresh. The most amazing dish is the strawberry with the home-made whipped cream. We were told that the strawberries were from the farm of the owner’s Neighbour. It’s so sweet and tasty. The home-made whipped cream is a star complement to these extraordinary strawberries.

Atmosphere was great , the staff was super attentative and the food very good quality . I highly recommend to come here for a nice beer and good meat on the stone , the waitress recommended it and was veeery nice . Top place

Great experience here. Traditional cooking from local ingredients. All their fruit and vegetables come from their own orchard. Great quality. Be sure to try some Sidra (traditional cider) that can be had really cheap. Prices are correct and would definitely come back. Thanks!

A lovely fun spot. We only had ciders and cheese, but they brought around delicious tapas while we had cider. Very friendly and overall great spot.
Steph D — Google review
Absolutely fantastic, had 3 ciders to myself and loved every minute. Service was amazing with an English menu also included. José served us and made us so welcome 10 stars!
Benson M — Google review
This was a disappointment. After all the good reviews we expected better. The prices are very high. Some dishes almost double the prices around Villaviciosa, where we live - near the SEASIDE! I had filete de ternera (€17.50) and it was as tough as an old boot sole. Very difficult to cut or chew. My wife had escalopines con cabrales (€17.50) and even they were tough and stringy. Service was OK, but we will not repeat!

The Parador de Corias is a luxurious hotel set in a stunning monastery that has been designated as a National Historical-Artistic Monument. Located in the charming town of Cangas del Narcea in Asturias, this upscale accommodation offers spacious and pristine rooms with a historic ambiance. The attentive staff, high-end restaurant, and spa facilities contribute to an exceptional guest experience. Guests can enjoy guided tours of the monastery and access amenities such as an acclimatized pool.
The best place we stayed on our holiday. Fabulous. Wonderful building with super rooms. Great food in the restaurant too. The only downside is that there is no outdoor space to relax and enjoy the sunshine, however there is an indoor pool.

Much like all parador hotels. This one is no exception to being beautiful and simply amazing to be able to stay there. This is a beautiful old monastery that's huge. Hallways are very large and big with amazing common areas. The staff are always so helpful and pleasant and professional. The local area around the hotel is simply beautiful and if you go here you have to go to the winery next door. Book a tour in advance and the information is some of the best I've ever received on a winery tour....so very interesting.
Tim W — Google review
First of all, it is a great hotel and the strategy of the Paradores group is commendable. However, we felt that a significant amount of cost-cutting has been implemented in the room amenities as well as the breakfast experience. The hotel has the potential to be truly exceptional—one that guests from around the world would love to stay in—but it requires considerable improvement and greater attention to detail. As architects, we were quite disappointed
Ketan S — Google review
Absolutely stunning hotel. Located in a small town in the Asturias mountains. Old monastery (actually the third largest monastery in Spain). Tastefully renovated and reasonably priced. Don't miss the library. Also located next to a small winery with some odd varieties that's worth a short visit.

Huw D — Google review
It is impossible not to love every aspect of this wonderful converted monastery. From the minute you step in the door you experience the quality, the attention to detail and the visual beauty of this most unique Parador - it is truly outstanding. Although it is a formal hotel the staff without exception are helpful, kind and friendly. They went out of their way to make us comfortable. I think it is true that it was their spirit that makes the Parador truly special. Nearby Cangas de Narcea is a lively, friendly and slightly crazy rural town with a nice market, a beautiful church in the square and bars and places to eat. It’s a busy town with good shops - some of them long established and unchanged. Most especially was the sense that the children here are among the happiest in Spain - something that speaks volumes about the local community who don’t pander to tourists but do treat visitors with friendliness and an easy, informal hospitality.

The cachopo from Café Madrid was exceptional, with patrons enjoying it so much that they ordered it again. The service was attentive and speedy, and the restaurant offered a terrace as well as two interior rooms for dining. Gluten-free options were available, accommodating those with celiac disease. Additionally, customers raved about the cachopo sub champion of Spain 2020, describing it as truly impressive.

(Translated by Google) We had a reservation at 2:30 p.m. and they told us we were arriving early that it was 3:00 p.m., they didn't even bother to check the register. So much so that the menu says gluten-free, I would like to know why the rest of the establishment doesn't say anything mentioning it. Regarding the issue of gluten-free, I did not like at all that the plates and cutlery were next to the bread handling, there each one arrives, cuts gluten-containing bread and takes cutlery, etc. with the same hand. The space is quite small, a waiter dropped the bread basket on the floor, picked it up and served it... I have a gluten allergy apart from an intolerance of said food, but for me it is important that there is no prior manipulation with gluten to serve me dishes, cutlery, etc. We ordered fabada, cachopo with potatoes and gluten-free bread. The fabada was normal, but they are not the typical large beans, the chorizo was dry, the blood sausage too and they never bothered to bring it even though they supposedly noted it when ordering it, nor did they come to explain the reason. I have tried few fabadas in Asturias and since they are better than this one. The cachopo was white, visually undercooked, the potatoes equally undercooked, raw or overcooked. It wasn't clear to me if they were homemade or frozen. They made us pay in cash/bizum because they said that the dataphone did not "work", something that would be nice if they would notify you when you make the reservation. I would not return and certainly would not recommend it. No me quedó claro si eran caseras o congeladas.

We ordered an Asturian cheese board with quince jelly, croquettes, and the cachopo with cecina and goat cheese; everything was exquisite. The cachopo was one of the best I've ever had; the flavors were perfectly balanced, simply incredible. For dessert, we ordered the cheese flan; it was incredibly good. The service was exquisite throughout, the waiters very friendly and kind, especially Alberto. A 10 out of 10. Tienen the prize at the best cachopo de España and a diploma at the best pincho, and this is nota el level. Son muy cuidadosos with the food sin gluten and cualquier allergia, and prestan una atención special a evitar la contaminación cruzada, algo que valoro mucho porque soy muy sensitive además de celíaca. (Translated by Google) We ordered two rosé wines (Luna), two Coca-Colas, and one beer. Lunch: two scallopini with El Vigo cheese sauce and one portion of croquettes. The croquettes were delicious and not greasy at all. They were all practically identical, which makes me doubt whether they're homemade or not; in my opinion, they aren't. There were three of us, and there were nine croquettes. The scallopini were tender, the coating was delicious, and they came with a good amount of potatoes and red peppers. The sauce was smooth and very flavorful. In my opinion, the quantity/price could be adjusted differently. I honestly think it's excessive to charge €22 for a portion of scallopini. I was very surprised that they didn't have any fish on the menu, except for one salad, which I think was tuna. The service was very attentive and professional. You can take what's left in a Tupperware for €1.20, bag included. Easily accessible from the main road a few kilometres from Cangas del Narcea. A good place for passing bike tourists to stop off. Decent room, although the shower was temperamental. Firm beds and pillows. Good, local / traditional local food available for the dinner service, with a choice of locally made red or white wine, or soft drinks included. (Translated by Google) The staff is friendly. They have free private parking and a terrace across from the bar. Our mountain-view room was small. It had a double bed, a small table with a lamp on each side, a wardrobe, and a table with a chair. No TV as promised on Booking.com (although we didn't need one). All the furniture is old, as is the bathroom, but everything is functional. In the shower, you have to regulate the hot and cold water (separately), and the toilet is wedged between two walls. There was a power outlet next to the entrance door; I missed it next to the bed. There was no air conditioning, but we knew that. The walls seem thin because you can hear when someone enters or leaves a room or when someone talks in the hallway. Also, I would have preferred to have the thick blanket in the closet and not have to unmake the bed because it's August. I understand it's a one-star hotel, but for the price we paid, I expected better. Also, the bathroom in our room clearly wasn't cleaned because there were tons of hairs on the floor. Otherwise, my rating would be higher. The rest of the bathroom was clean, with toiletries included (towels, soap, etc.). The beds and floor in our room were clean. Finally, I personally didn't like seeing animal heads at the bar (even though they aren't real) because the bar also serves as the hotel's reception area for all types of guests.

The Centro de Recepción de la Reserva Natural Integral de Muniellos is eagerly anticipated by visitors who are eager to return. Despite the challenging weather on that particular day, the shortest route was taken and proved to be worthwhile. A special acknowledgment goes to Reyes, who warmly welcomed and provided excellent explanations. It is gratifying to encounter individuals like Reyes who generously share their knowledge. This national reserve offers friendly guides who explain the route thoroughly, making it accessible for experienced mountain enthusiasts with no complications.
Very nice people that explain to you what to find in the route. The route presents no complications for people with experience in the mountain.

The girl who receives us, Pilar, is very friendly, explains everything to you in the smallest detail, although she seems a little confused, because you hand her the documentation, she asks for your identity card and after a short while she asks you again for your name. The road to get there is quite narrow and there is mobile coverage, as there are frequency inhibitors made so that you cannot talk on the phone in a protected space, I recommend downloading Google Maps offline, to be able to get to the facilities. When you return from the route you take you have to go and let them know that you have arrived because in autumn it closes at 5:15 p.m. On the way back after going to give the news that we had arrived, we asked him about the depth of one of the lagoons, he said he didn't know and apparently asked a colleague, who was also a guard of the reserve [the truth He didn't like it, because the answer was quite derogatory and he was asked about some recreational areas and the information, he gave it but very reluctantly and with a very serious face to be facing the public, in a very nice place, although The environment is reserved, specifically the walkway and some bridges are quite neglected, in particular one is missing the mesh and it slips really badly, it needs a little maintenance. The upper one has a length of just over 9 km, the river one 7 km. You have to overcome a difference in altitude of about 600 m. From this crossroads, there is "only" one kilometer left and about 80 meters of elevation gain to reach the lagoon. The path up is spectacular, but requires being in good physical shape. There is a section that must be passed with a fixed rope, and several large fallen oaks that must be surrounded, which adds fatigue and time to the route. Our pulse accelerates with excitement thinking that down there tomorrow we will cross walking from side to side, and we are seeing the heart of the park. We strongly recommend that even if you do not access Muniellos by this route, you go up to this viewpoint, it is 11 kilometers (40 minutes round trip by car) from the entrance to the park. When we met him in person, he conveyed the same message: a kind, pleasant person who lives the history of that town in a personal way, and tells it like it is. Besullo, a small town high in the Asturian mountains surrounded by awe-inspiring nature. A town with a history one can't imagine: stories of religion, stories of a great playwright like Alejandro Casona, stories of war that we won't forget, and they don't do it by remembering those people who were unwittingly taken away by a senseless fight between brothers. Over the years, I have continued to come on pilgrimage to the shrine. Every year I come from Madrid, where I live now, and I continue to come. My husband and my children continue to make the pilgrimage and the obligatory visit, just like me. This year I was GREATLY disappointed, and I feel entitled to express it here. I have donated twice to the shrine's renovations, and when I arrived, what a disappointment! The façade was all very well, BUT, Father, HE REMOVED IT!! The two small altarpieces that have always been on the left side of the church, are beyond words, something so mythical, so Asturian, and also the name of Our Lady of Holly. My ANGER, my pain, and my sorrow for what you have done. I feel that the donations of many parishioners will hurt us for what you have done. You have left the Sanctuary bare. The food tastes really good, but, there were many things that went wrong here. First, we had to wait 30 minutes to order food. not sure why, but it seems like the kitchen is quite limited. We ordered a couple of things, gambas al ajillo (shrimps in olive oil and with garlic) came in super small portion, we got 9 shrimps which is really below any standard in Asturias. Also the cachopo was half the size you normally get in this region. You can see the pictures I attached for reference. In the end, as we were got so little food, we wanted to order more, but we were told they only have the chuleton (steak) left, nothing else. In the end the bill cam way too high for the quantity and quality we got. This place is not some fine dining place, and there’s a clear missmatch between cost and value. I’m not coming back here.

All very good. Especially the black pudding. Generous quantities. And the desserts were spectacular: we ordered cheesecake, which they put in a small glass, and it was delicious, a sweet donut that surprised us with its flavors, and rice pudding, which was also very good. All this with several bottles of Trabanco cider, which won us over. This plan is highly recommended (Original) Esta venta nos ha encantado. (Translated by Google) We booked yesterday to eat today without any major problems. The place is spectacular in terms of views and very pleasant treatment. Today, in addition to the menu, there was a menu. They have a high chair for babies. The delicious and abundant food. Homemade desserts. Then we took the opportunity to walk around the town, which is very beautiful and includes the birthplace of Alejandro Casona (playwright).

(Translated by Google) We booked for lunch during the week and it was a great choice. We had a set menu and my daughter ordered a fabada (bean stew)! Everything was delicious! The menu is highly recommended, for €14, including a starter, main course, dessert, bread, and a drink. I ordered potatoes a la marinière (seafood patty) and they brought me a whole casserole dish! The service was 10/10! We ate on the terrace with spectacular views! In short, good food, good price, good service! Totally recommended! (Translated by Google) We came to Besullo for a few days and found a town full of life and sublime friendliness. Regarding the restaurant, it offers excellent value for money, and the entire restaurant team is super friendly. Special mention must go to Sandra, who clearly loves working with customers and children, as my daughter was very happy with her.
