Explore the rugged landscapes of Agia Pelagia with Quad Safari Peninsula, a company offering thrilling quad tours through the countryside. To join a tour, all you need is a valid driver's license and a sense of adventure. Whether it's the breathtaking sunset trip or the informative visit to a small village, each experience promises excitement and stunning views. The friendly guides ensure that even first-time riders feel comfortable as they navigate off-road terrain.
Would highly recommend doing the Quad Safari, the best day we’ve had on our trip so far. Loved seeing the ghost village and all the views throughout the journey were amazing. When you stop at the village make sure to get some fresh orange juice. Mr sexy is a fantastic guide! (Note there is storage on the back of the quad so you can take bags etc) Definitely worth the money, much more than just a quad bike ride!!!
Ethan P — Google review
Morning trip out on the Quad tour, a really enjoyable experience albeit we encountered some rain along the way, however the Quad Safari staff kindly came out and met us along the way in their minibus with some ponchos, which were very much appreciated. Great staff, great views and a great experience. Loved the Olive oil museum and having a mooch around the abandoned ghost town. Highly recommended trip out!
Simon B — Google review
We had an unforgettable evening tour with Quad Safari Crete, taking us through charming, authentic villages and beautiful landscapes — all under the expert and entertaining guidance of our amazing guide, Mr. Sexy (yes, that’s what he calls himself, and it suits his charismatic personality perfectly!). The tour was both exciting and informative. Along the way, we learned about local culture and the history of olive oil production, which Mr. Sexy explained with great knowledge and humor. You could really feel his passion for the region and its traditions. The final part of the ride was absolutely magical — driving through the landscape in the dark, lit only by our ATV headlights and the stars above. It created an unforgettable atmosphere. All in all, a perfect mix of adventure, culture, and great company. We can highly recommend Quad Safari Crete Peninsula to anyone looking to experience a different and authentic side of Crete — and of course, meet Mr. Sexy, who truly is the cherry on top!
Sebastian H — Google review
Such an amazing experience! We had the best time, it’s so worth the money and the tour guides are excellent. We want to thank ‘Mr Sexy’ for making it such a fun tour to do on our last day of our holiday.
Bonnie 1 — Google review
What an incredible time quad biking! From start to finish, the staff were incredibly professional, witty, and genuinely funny, making for a fantastic atmosphere. We chose the sunset ride, and it lived up to all expectations – the views as the sunset over the ocean were absolutely stunning and unforgettable. The first stop was the local olive mill (Striligkas olive mill and museum), which is a brilliant place to visit in its own right, even if you don't take a quad tour. Can't recommend this place enough! Thank you!!
Nita H — Google review
Had a great morning on the Quad bikes, the tour guide ‘Mr Sexy’ was super helpful and funny. First stop was at the Olive Mill where we got to do some tasting and they have lots of different oils available to purchase at such a good value. Second stop was to a ghost village and then the final stop was home to a famous painter - the gyros and fresh orange juice is amazing. Great views throughout the quad biking experience, definitely an experience worth doing while on holiday!
Louise M — Google review
The tour took us on beautiful scenery, and the different stops at the ghost town and olive oil museum were also exciting. Special shoutout to ‘Mr. Sexy’, our tour guide who made this trip even more fun!

Paralia Psaromoura

(370)
Beach
Paralia Psaromoura is a picturesque crescent-shaped bay nestled between cliffs, shielding it from strong winds. While lacking restaurants and hotels, the beach offers convenient access to various amenities and ample sun loungers for relaxation. Visitors can partake in water activities like pedalo rides or paddle boarding on the stunning blue waters. The area also features nearby parking lots and scattered accommodations.
Beautiful clear blue sea, large pebble and rock beach (not sharp) Plenty of sunbeds to hire two for 25€ for two and a parasol...which I will need the sun beams on this beach that price is for the whole day. The bar on the beach is great very polite helpful and friendly staff which also run boat hire with or without captain 90€ for an hour and jet skis 60€ for 15 mins (plenty of time ) life jackets supplied and a lesson if you've not driven a boat if u want to take it out without a captain The sea is lovely and warm lots of fish to sea if you like to go under the water, water is still small movement not massive waves Nice walk down to the beach, steep hill back up but very much worth it We spent every day on this beach we hired a boat twice so it was nice to see further than the eye and sea more under the sea and little coves. The guys that work on the beach you do an amazing job and are so welcoming thank you all Go and explore We will be back next year
Sarah C — Google review
It’s a beautiful small beach, but the private area’s umbrella are a bit overpriced. 25€ for the first row, 20€ for the rest. However, the bar was convenient with 0,50€ for a 0,5L bottle of water and 2,50€ for an iced coffee (frappe). There’s a public beach area, too, and free parking. You have to walk 4-5 min to the beach as it is downhill.
Alion Ç — Google review
Gorgeous little beach. Affordable and comfy beds, beautifully clear water and great cliff-jumping spots ✨ It's quite small so could get pretty crowded.
Rachel L — Google review
Crystal clear water with rocks around the beach. You don't have to pay for sunbeds if there is room in the beach bar.
Filip B — Google review
It’s a pretty beach, clear water and a lot of marine life. Theres free parking 4 minutes away and a small bar on the beach. There are sunbeds available but they cost 25 euro next to the sea and 20 euro near the back. There is also place for you to place your towels directly on the ground depending on the busyness or the time of day. We came here at about 3 in the afternoon and there were free spots with sun but also in the shade. There’s a small cabin to change into your bathing suit but no available bathroom. The bad thing is the insufferable loud music coming from the bar.
Anghelina C — Google review
It is a nice beach with stones. The water is very clear. You can easily see the bottom. Umbrella and two sezlongs are 25 eur (2024). There is a bar with a variety of drinks and some sandwiches and chips. I recommend buying some snacks from markets before coming here. There are 2 mobile toilets upstairs if you dare to use them. Free parking is available.
Özkan Ç — Google review
Sunbeds are too expensive - 25€ per set Unfortunately they have covered the whole beach with sunbeds so there is no space to sit down with your own towel. The beach is super nice though - compared to what you can find close to Heraklion
Alexandra G — Google review
Quite small pebble beach. It was pretty crowded today, probably because it was Saturday. There is a bar on the beach. 2 sunbeds and 1 umbrella 20€. The water is very clear and worth snorkeling. Some water shoes would be useful too. There is a free parking up.

Beaches
Psaromoura Beach, located in the Agia Pelagia complex in Heraklion, is a small yet popular spot among locals. The bay is surrounded by rocks and offers a secluded escape from noise and crowds. Visitors recommend arriving early to secure an umbrella and enjoy the private feel of the beach. A friendly bartender serves drinks and snacks at the beach bar, while water sports like jet skis, kayaks, and paddle boarding are available for adventure seekers.
Very beautiful beach which during low season (end of October) wasn’t too crowded (high season is most likely very different). The water is so clear and it was a snorkeling paradise for us and the kids!
Appelgretchen — Google review
The beach itself was lovely—clean water, a great spot for a morning swim, and ideal for snorkeling. We only visited in the morning to enjoy a swim and a coffee. However, the atmosphere at the bar was a bit off. The staff, particularly the guy at the bar and his girlfriend, seemed somewhat annoyed and not very welcoming—perhaps because it was still early, around 9 a.m. It created a slightly uncomfortable vibe. We’d definitely return to the beach for the water and the setting, but probably skip the bar next time.
Jana C — Google review
The food was not very special. Loved the sunbeds at this beach. They were so soft and comfortable. The staff was very friendly. I would definitely visit the beach again.
Steffi H — Google review
The water here is amazing I really enjoyed to swim there. For two people we paid 25 Eur and got the sunbed from the second row. After second row, sunbeds for two are 20 Eur but they are not clean as like the first two rows. The main problem here is wc. They have only plastic cabins. Also to eat they sell only sandwiches.
Melda A — Google review
The beach is somewhat small and the water level is immediately high. It is not easily accessible to everyone and this makes it ideal to stay all day in a very beautiful stall protected from the wind by the mountains and with spectacular views of the coast. There is a bar where you can buy some drinks and ice cream. Prices are ok
Technoselectors — Google review
Such a nice beach, definitely recommended! You need to come early to get an umbrella (up to 10:30). The beach itself is small and feels private, there is a beach bar with drinks and snacks served by very friendly bartender. Watersports also available, small boat, jet ski, kayaks, paddle boarding and katamarans. The only downside is the rocky entrance into the water however it makes the water extremely transparent. Overall a must visit place.
Nicolae P — Google review
Psaromoura Beach is a little hidden, which makes it the perfect place for a quiet morning or afternoon. There’s lot’s of beds to rent, but the prices were very high (€15,- for two) compared to other beaches. But also some room to sit in the sand.
Arnoud B — Google review
A tiny beach with 75% umbrellas and 25% "free section". It's a pebble beach, so don't expect any real sand for the most part. There is a bit, but it's very coarse. The advantage is that the beach is never crowded. There is a bar which offers a limited choice of bland foods at high prices, and drinks at somewhat reasonable ones. The water is calm, though it gets deep really fast, meaning that you will hit 2 meters depth after walking in for 3-5 meters. There are lots of rocks, so it does make for an interesting snorkeling location, since you will see plenty of fishes. I even saw a sea star. Be sure to wear swim shoes, otherwise you might hurt your feet. This counts doubly so for the beach, which can hide some pretty sharp stones.

Great place near Agia Pelagia. The food is really tasty and the view is great. Also a sound plus for the music selection, you can enjoy all of this combined in a nice setting. Highly recommend it 🤗

The food was delicious, and the staff were always friendly, accommodating, and welcoming. I visited the restaurant 3 to 4 times, and each time they treated us with a complimentary dessert, it was such a nice touch. Highly recommend this restaurant if you’re nearby.

What a wonderful find. Perched on the cliff with the most amazing views across the bay. The food was amazing. We had the mixed fish platter and unfortunately also ordered starters. Unfortunately, because portion sizes were very generous and we couldn't finish our main course. Service was attentive and atmosphere was warm and friendly despite being towards the end if the season. We will come back next time we come to Agia Pelagia!!!

Everything about the Yamas restaurant is perfect: the food is delicious, fresh, and made with love, and there is a wide variety from greek to european cuisine. The service is impeccable (and the servers are really cute) and overall the ambiance and location are great. The view on the sea accompanied by great music just gives this restaurant a unique experience and a great vibe. If I come to Crete again, I will definitely return to the Yamas restaurant, it is worth a visit! Definitely recommended. We love you Manolis, Ndorian, Manos, Kristi 🩷🇬🇷🫵🏼 Kisses from the crazy blondes 😘

Wonderful location, great food and the staff was really good, not much wait and good advice as to what wines or servings to pick. We had feta cheese rolls for two which was just enough, a bit salty but good overall. We then had a moussaka and chicken with feta sauce and fries which was good. The restaurant’s favourite white wine is really nice and will not break your wallet. Overall not so pricey, especially for the location, we had a superb moment. Definitely a must go if you are nearby. We were also served a piece of cake along with the raki, no need for a desert. You will not see the sunset as the place is facing east, but you will admire all sorts of wonderful colours while having dinner.

I have been many countries around the world as well as many places, restaurants in Crete in Greece. I am going to tell this restaurant has a different tropic modern vibes and unique style compared to all other popular restaurants. The staff ı dont even know what to say. They are so professional, ı know how the owners approach to customer if they are into money or hospitability. Those guys are so professional. I understand from food, serving style, approach techniques, the materials which is being used, ıf they are tricking you or honest etc. I can tell they make you feel premium vip customer. I really loved their friendly style. No matter who you are, they welcome you with their best. I believe their staff is choosen the best ones. Never felt any bad treatment or any bad vibes. This place deserve 10 star. Efharisto para poli mou file Yasass🏖️🇬🇷❤️💯

For day 2, we recommend exploring the northeast side side of town. Start the day off with Lygaria beach, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to RENT A BOAT - JET SKI - "AQUA STAR". All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Lygaria beach is the second largest beach in Agia Pelagia, featuring a mix of sandy and rocky areas. It offers various amenities including restaurants, cafes, a diving center, water sports facilities, sun loungers and umbrellas. The clear blue waters are perfect for swimming and snorkeling with an abundance of marine life to explore. Visitors can also enjoy activities like kayaking and paddleboarding. The surrounding cliffs provide a picturesque backdrop to this charming beach community.
Great beach, choice of restaurants to eat from. Good walking areas. Public washroom potty, and changing room available. Only draw back is steep drive down to beach, with sharp turns where you are blind to on coming cars. Drive carefully.
Alex H — Google review
Beautiful beach with a mix of locals and tourists. Not too busy, but gets bussier at the end of the day. Great restaurant choices to choose from and the water is absolutely stunning. Take a look on the cliff on the left side and get a great view of the bay. The right side has a smaller cliff on the end which is absolutely recommended to take a dive or look and see how clear and blue the water gets here.
Day D — Google review
Very crowded on a Sunday with extremely choppy water while we were there. Sand beach, with restaurants along the way and some gorgeous places to take pics on either end of the beach. Staying here, we enjoyed it, but might not be worth a drive…
Livia K — Google review
Great beach! Got there around 2 pm, nobody charged me for the sunbed. A bit slippery when you go in, but it's truly a small beautiful oasis. Would return
Karla — Google review
Small beach with umbrellas. 2 sunbeds and umbrella 7€. Entrance to the sea: rock, pebbles and a little sand. Restaurants near. In the beach only one small supermarket.
Akvile P — Google review
Wonderful beach was enough umbrellas and variety of beds ranging from two to €10 for rent. Which is wider and not a shallow as in Aglia Pelagia. Wonderful snorkeling, opportunities to see small and large fish sitting on the seaweed. One of the best restaurants we’ve seen so far in Greece-Taberna Sirocco.

Nice beach with very friendly host, 3eur per chair as well as a drinks and food service. A shower, clean toilets and a bar do complete the set-up. Nestled away from the hustle and bustle, Beach Parasfoungario is a hidden treasure that offers breathtaking views of a secluded cove. Unfortunately, this stunning beach is not accessible to the general public due to its location within a gated private estate. We walked up there from the highway just to watch a beautiful beach from up...and just kept watching because the beach is PRIVATE. THE ACCESS TO NATURAL BEAUTIES SHOULD BE FREE AND PUBLIC. In italy to close the access to coast territorry is illegal. I think this should be a crime everywhere. Very angry to the yet another greedy luxury resort that is eating this island from the inside.

An excellent experience with water sports! We tried both jet skiing and water skiing — the equipment was in perfect condition, and the instructors were very friendly and professional. Everything was well organized, and I felt safe throughout. A perfect activity for anyone looking to add some excitement to their vacation. I’d definitely do it again!
Emanuel T — Google review
Today we rented a jet ski for 20 minutes, that was all okay except for one time where we ended up too close to the coast due to big waves and wind, and the jet ski was stopped as was explained at the start. This all seemed to be no problem and we drove back into the area after and then back to the beach as our time was up. Upon arrival a ‘coast police’ was waiting for us and without any explanation our passports, hotel information and phone number were asked. When we asked why this was necessary and if we did something wrong the answer was; no no it’s just a check and you have to give your information otherwise you’ll go to the police station. We said we wanted to know why and didn’t just want to give our information like that and the coast police got pretty mad at us in Greek and people were yelling at each other. In the end one of the guys from the rental explained to us that you need a permit to drive the jet ski, which no one had told us and we were not aware of. After half an hour of arguing with the Greek coast guard and the rental staff we were finally allowed to go. Let’s hope nothing else follows from this as this experience was already bad enough. Don’t rent a jet ski if you don’t have a licence!!! 👎👎👎👎🦆🦆🦆

Must do!! The owner and his crew are amazing friendly fun people!! In such a touristic island is not so easy to find spots that they really want you to have fun, instead of just your money. Well, that was a great spot with good Vibes!! We enjoyed a great experience ** absolutely recommend it 👍
Athina Δ — Google review
Overall it was a very nice experience. We wanted to rent a boat and they said to us: You won't have fun because it's too windy. In my opinion it wasn't that windy, but they wanted us to enjoy the boat trip. That's a great service. Price for 3 hours with fuel included is perfect. Thank you and hope to see you soon.
Pavel S — Google review
Very correct service and fair prices! Thanks for the fun afternoon.
Bart V — Google review
Quick service, no hidden charges. Rented the boat without skipper. Restriction not to come closer 200 m to beaches/rocks - claims boat tracked by GPS tracker . Which I doubt, but prudence needs to be exercised.
Mopiranger A — Google review
The best water sports, personal very friendly, perfect prices. I've rent a boat, it was very nice. The area is amazing, very nice beaches that you can visit with their boat. I will visit them next year also.

Restaurant
Sirocco is a family-run traditional Cretan restaurant located in Agia Pelagia, opposite Alexander House Hotel. It offers a careful selection of local dishes with delicious food and gentle service. The tavern provides an amazing dining experience at the edge of the sea, away from typical tourist spots. With prices around 20-25 euros per person, it's a great place to enjoy seafood and other Greek delicacies.
Very beautiful place and extra good food! We were 2 times, ate 2 Greek Salads, Mousaka, Stifado, Seabass and Seafood Spaghetti. Everything was very, very good! And you always get fruit, cake and Ouzo at the end for free! All the Staff is also very nice.
Danica E — Google review
A very welcoming place, a peaceful terrace in a beautiful bay. The food is excellent, and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Want to modify a dish or add something to an already prepared meal? No problem at all. That being said, the food is so good that you hardly feel the need to change anything. The prices are fair, and the atmosphere is pleasant. It’s a place I have visited several times — a family-run restaurant with a warm, homely feel.
Razvan A — Google review
Exactly the kind of family-run Greek tavern you dream of—right next to a cozy, calm local beach. The seafood is fresh and tasty, but their fried zucchini and grilled prawns are truly next level!

Great restaurant on the beach. Greek salad recommended. They brought fruits and desserts as an invite from the restaurant after the dinner super sweet.

Enjoyed our fresh fish dinner. Fries were soft to my liking but found out they use fresh cut potatoes. Very good prices for what you get. Had the seafood platter with 2 fresh fish & the house wine and it was delicious. The atmosphere was also wonderful.. Highly recommend... 👍

Portions are quite big. We ordered saganaki cheese, calamari, courgette, lamb souvlaki... they were all great and delicious. The restaurant is by the beach.

The food is amazing. What stood out the most for me was the atmosphere which evokes real greek vibe.

We shared a fish platter which was good and generous. Calamari were a little chewy. Portions were good. It just felt a bit 'meh', like they couldn't really be bothered. There are similar but better restaurants around that treat customers a bit better. Bit pricier than other restaurants too.

Beautiful views from back of restaurant, beach terrace. The food was excelent and staff was friendly. My wife has been here earlier and loves this place!😊

The place looks very nice and the view is stunning. Despite the fact of having paid a fortune bill , which euro 300 were only for two lobster in a plateau. Good service but I felt the dinner was ruin from a bill that just made the place a tourist trap.

Higly recommanded! The chief cook in front of you and the seafood is perfectly cooked 🤩

I was lucky enough to have the most delicious dinner of my life at this restaurant. No offense to other restaurants, but this one has the best menu. Everywhere the menu is almost the same (fried fish and potatoes in oil). But here the food is at an unusually high level! I will definitely come back to Agia Pelagia just for this restaurant. The best restaurant on this coast for sure!

Just a short stroll from the beach, this charming restaurant offers an array of Mediterranean dishes that beautifully blend flavors, making each meal memorable. Guests can savor everything from expertly prepared sea bass to decadent chocolate desserts that leave you craving more.
Great place with traditional food selection. Very abundant portions so maybe you can skip the starters. They also bring bread and olives while you wait (1€ per person but worth it). The staff was nice and friendly and answered to our demands promptly. Free parking right behind the restaurant. don’t expect cheap prices, but it’s worth it - you’ll literally eating 1.5 meters from the sea. Good music, too.

Very tasty food. Dishes had flavours that worked really well together, complimenting each other. The sea bass with veg is flavoured really well. The chocolate dessert was delicious! Creamy dark chocolate with a crispy base, mouth watering! We loved the food we returned the next day and had it again. The next day they also had prawn tempura which wasn’t on the menu. This is the best tempura I’ve had in my life. Good location where you get the ocean breeze.

Absolutely amazing experience – every single time! We came to this beach club several times during our stay, and every visit was a highlight. The location right by the sea is unbeatable, the atmosphere is super relaxing, and the drinks and food were always spot on. What truly made the experience unforgettable was the manager, who also served us as our waiter. He was incredibly friendly, super chill, and just an all-around amazing guy. Every time we returned, he recognized us instantly and made us feel like old friends. His energy and warmth really set the tone for the whole place. On our last day, we even took a goodbye photo with him — that’s how much we appreciated him. Thank you for everything! We’ll definitely come back next time we’re around. If you’re looking for a beach club with great vibes, top service, and the friendliest manager ever — this is the place! 🌊🍹🌞

Unfortunately, we had a very bad experience in this store. The owner was talking bad about us behind our backs and was very rude. I have never experienced this. Somewhere you are appreciated as a customer where you are treated with respect.

During our holiday in Agia Pelagia we found this lovely shop, the staff are so welcoming and friendly. You can browse freely and if you find something you like, the owner and her staff will be on hand to help with size or alternatives. The clothing is formal or informal for men, women and children, and the shop also has beautiful jewellery, hats, bags and handmade/measured sandals of your own design The changing rooms are clean, and the staff will bring alternatives in style or colour for you to try on, never felt pressured to purchase, as they only want to help and if you decide you do not want to buy, the experience is still positive one. We all felt it was like having a personal shopper, it was fun and a great experience and the linen is amazing to help to deal with the heat. Highly recommend a visit, and you can purchase online 🥰

Paralia Agia Pelagia, once a small fishing village, has transformed into a bustling tourist resort with hotels, restaurants, bars, and top-notch water sports facilities like scuba diving. It's popular among families and younger crowds for its lively atmosphere. For those seeking tranquility, there's a small sandy beach around the bay to the north near the cave-chapel of Evresi.
Süper nice beach. The bay is pretty much immune to wind. It wasn't crowded when we visited and the cafe behind serves many food & drinks and provides showers and WC.
Olcay S — Google review
We arrived an hour before sunset on a Sunday and found easy, free parking on the street. A 3 minute walk to the beach and we stopped at a minimarket on the way to buy some water. Now the beach as very little coastline for you to sit on, so you have to choose your spot carefully. You can either rent chairs, knowing the water with rush up under you. You can opt for a small section of sand, knowing that the water will wash away your things. You can grab a spot at the local bars/tavernas/cafes which are open the elements. We, however, walked to the rocks on the cliffside and that was a solid choice! The water is calm and beautiful. I swam around the coastline and was surprised by how many fish were swimming with me! A school of tiny silver fish, thousands of them, hung out with me. There were tiny rainbow fish too. It was beautiful. There are plenty of boats, so be careful. There are also place to jump off the cliff into the water, so be careful of divers too! All in all, if you are near Heraklion, I recommend this nice beach for a day of fun.
Jo J — Google review
Awesome beach with all what you need to enjoy, firstly they have good parking right at the entrance of the beach which is Great… and then shallow water in the start (there is a giant rock that blocks the waves and makes it more fun as you can go with toddlers as well) then goes deep, clear water, pebbles surface, no sticky sand, perfect for sun bathing with the benches available for EUR 5 for full day… (you just occupy the bench and someone will come and take the charges)… great Resturants on the brim and super markets !!! You can buy your beer or other drinks or fruits from the super market to save cost and then go to any restaurant for good food … there is a port-a-loo on the car parking area but otherwise all Resturant’s have washrooms that you can use if you buy something from there… Overall an AWESOME beach to go and spend your day if you are in this part of Crete (just 30 min drive from Heraklion, note the bus service is not good so don’t rely on that rather rent a car)
Abhinav S — Google review
A beach with clear water. It's very small, so there's little space for sunbathing or umbrellas. A set of umbrellas and loungers costs €10, but it's impossible to find any. Even if you go at 8:00 a.m., everything is occupied only by towels, which I believe are left the night before. People arrive at 10-11:00 a.m. I find this practice very unfair and wouldn't return to this beach for this reason.
Chiara F — Google review
Park where you can, but once you get to the beach, hook a left and walk up the rocky trail to the cliff for amazing views and a tranquil environment.
Nancy T — Google review
A lot of options for free parking. It's 90% rocky beach, but the water is clear. Beautiful and pitoresque landscape nearby, worth everything. Unfortunately, there is little room for free sand towels

Symposium Restaurant is a Greek eatery that offers a diverse range of dishes made with fresh ingredients, including both meat and seafood options. They also have options available for vegetarians and those on gluten-free diets. The restaurant provides indoor seating as well as an al fresco area for guests to enjoy their meals. This family-run establishment in Agia Pelagia, located opposite Alexander House Hotel, serves traditional Cretan cuisine that is both delicious and carefully crafted.
Excellent food at the beach, great service. We had lunch here several days in a row. Every time the lady kept greeting us with a large smile on her face, it was very friendly and welcoming. Each time, when we asked for the bill, we were surprised with fruit and raki- compliment from the house.
Ivalina S — Google review
Skip the Symposium salad - it’s a pricy salad mix with what looks like a store bought mayo based sauce, and way too much of it. They also kept a nicer table empty, even though it was the perfect size for our company and didn’t have a reserved sign on it. Definitely not a first choice among all the shore restaurants here.

Let's start by saying that the food is very fresh and good. But there's, at least with me, a big problem: the service! we've been ignored all the time, we had to reminder that we had ordered. After one hour and a half they bring the plates to us. So we've been here for a total of 2 and a half hour. So sorry for this 'cause the food was good, but we waste lots of time for this.
Matteo M — Google review
Very sorry to say but we got treated really poorly here. I simply asked what as in a dish and the server told me as he was walking away from me. Then our food took forever to show up. I have a feeling that due to the fact we didn’t speak greece is why they treated up poorly.

Last night, I discovered a charming tavern in Agia Pelagia called KANISKI that offers delicious local meze and spirits. This traditional Cretan eatery is beautifully adorned, and their menu boasts an array of delectable dishes to choose from. The owner warmly welcomed us and provided detailed explanations about the various culinary offerings. His evident passion for innovative Cretan cuisine made the experience even more delightful.
If you want to visit a real authentic place serving authentic Cretan cuisine, this is the place for you! Here you will always be welcome! An appetizer will be served while you wait for your meal, and at the end you will get dessert and rakia. Everything is very delicious! And most importantly, great people and a great team work here!

Also there are a lot of options for vegetarian and vegan cusine too. At our last dinner we even got a bottle of white wine as a present. The best little great resturant on Crete I have been so far. Highly recommended.
Braun J — Google review
We had the pleasure of dining there twice. If you are in Agia Pelagia do yourself a favour and go! Food is amazing as is the Cretan hospitality. Thanks Kaniski.
Nick F — Google review
Went in based on the many raving reviews. We thought it was OK. Nothing was bad or gross, so maybe it just was not our taste. The wine leaves, and peppers, stuffed with rice and potentially some other stuff was a bit bland. Although the meat balls were out of this world, so good. Give it a try. It is not for us, but maybe it is for you.

We stayed one week in agia pelagia and we had our first dinner in Kaniski - and to be honest, it was the best of all! Their fries and their dolmades are so tasty. The staff was very friendly and we felt comfortable at this spot! Definitely worth to visit.

If you are interested in traditional local tastes this is the place to go. Kaniski will offer you a great gastronomic experience. Vinegar sausage is a must try! Staff were friendly and willing to answer all of our questions about the origins of the Ingredients they use.

Taverna "o Nikolas" is an incredible establishment that offers a welcoming atmosphere and delectable cuisine. The setup is uncomplicated, allowing guests to feel at ease. The menu boasts genuinely Greek dishes that are prepared with care and always fresh. Every item on the menu is outstanding, but notable mentions include the divine eggplant spread, perfectly pickled beetroot and red peppers, and the dream-worthy stuffed zucchini flowers.
This place became one of our favorites during the holiday! The food was super tasty, the service really friendly and relaxed. I especially want to mention the grouper fish — they recommended it to us saying it’s “the king of the sea”, and it really was amazing. We loved it — I’d honestly come back just to eat that again!

Amazing tavern with super delicious food and great local feel. A super plus on mentioning on the menu which positions are served from frozen seafood and which are fresh! 🤗 The only thing that is a bit disturbing the toad near the tavern, but if come to dinner at 20:00 it will ge fine. Also make reservations, as they are normally full, because the food is really amazing 🤩 We were here two times for dinner and it was super tasty!

A small tavern that doesn't look like much, but the food is fantastic! The service is lovely, there's no waiting, and the typical dishes are excellent! Every day we recommend a variety of dishes, each more appetising than the last! A wonderful discovery

The Best food we had in Agia Pelagia, maybe in Crete 😅, very fresh and local. Staff are very friendly and the owner is a very sweet guy which gave us good food recommendations. Their appetizers are fantastic, try the stuffed zucchini blossom and definitely the Greek. We discover the place on the first night and came back again.

What a wonderful Taverna! The staff were so welcoming - it was a family business with the parents in the kitchen - and the food was authentic and delicious. I would recommend the boiled vegetables and beetroot. The sardines were fresh! The stifado was also first rate. ⭐️

Paralia Mononaftis is a charming beach that offers a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. With its stunning bay, it's perfect for swimming and snorkeling, although visitors should be mindful of the rocky seabed—beach shoes are highly recommended to navigate safely. The beach features comfortable sun loungers available for rent, allowing you to relax in style while enjoying bar service right at your spot.
Beautiful little beach. Calm waters. Rocky floor. Beach shoes are a good idea. Sun loungers £10 for the day. Worth every penny in my opinion when you can get bar service to your place on the beach. A few shops, couple of bars and restaurants, all great. I'm returning next year, and can't wait.
Simon W — Google review
Beautiful little beach perfect for swimming and snorkelling. It does get busy, sunbeds all but gone by 10am. Sunbeds €10 for two, really good value. Great taverna and supermarket for food and snacks during the day.
Ralph E — Google review
A peaceful, clean beach with well-priced and comfortable sunbeds. (€10) There are a quite a few bars, stores and souvenir shops conveniently close by - so you can spend a whole day here. Beach shoes highly recommended since there are very slippery rocks in the water.
Rachel L — Google review
Gorgeous little beach in a charming bay. Filled with locals and tourists. Come before 10 AM to snag a pair of sun loungers, will set you back €10. You can pay with card or cash.
Thijs — Google review
Absolutely love this beach, it’s small and not so many sunbeds but when you get one they are comfortable and reasonably cheap we paid €10 for two beds and an umbrella. The beach it’s narrow enough and once in the water the floor of the sea is solid rock which can be a little slippery, but once you know that and act accordingly it’s a joy.. once by the rock bed the floor falls away and you enter deep water, deep beautifully clear and super buoyant water.. it’s such a great place to enjoy a swim, especially very early in the morning. I swam here two ironing just after sunrise and it was one of the great highlights of my stay in Crete. Exceptional place..
Keith B — Google review
An absolutely outstanding beach. Water is crystal clear. Went snorkeling and haven't seen anything like it so close in. Most areas you can stand up but you wouldn't believe your eyes once you break through the waters surface. Wasn't overly busy and plenty of amenities available.
Damian C — Google review
Little beach with a clean water and a nice taverna! Try to come early as the sun beds and even the area to put your towel is limited and you can easily spend whole day here!

Sea was warm and quite clear, did some snorkeling, some little fish swimming around ,scorching hot day lovely cool breeze, be careful, remember put your sun screen on, 😀

Car rental agency
Motor Sun offers a friendly and reasonably priced rental service, with a laid-back Greek culture. The process is simple, requiring minimal paperwork and no extensive vehicle checks upon return. Customers have praised the quality of the vehicles, such as 125cc scooters and quads, for their reliability during trips. The staff are described as very gentle and accommodating to English speakers. Additionally, the convenience of delivery and pick-up services at hotels has been highlighted positively.
We rent a good quality 400cc quad from MotorSun company. Like it very much and enjoy our trip in the mountains close of Agia Pelagia village on Crete island. Very good and quick service., thank you.

For the last 2 years we had rent cars and ATV’s from here. They have the best prices, quality vehicles, most of them are new and top services 👌. You can also check my YouTube channel to see all the interactions with Motor Sun also some of the vehicles we rent. I can just recommend them for the best rent services in Agia Pelagia. All, quick, niche and easy. Also you will get support for all the attractions you can visit! ✌️

Unforgettable Quad Safari in Agia Pelagia, Crete – Safe, Scenic, and So Worth It! I recently took part in a quad safari in Agia Pelagia, Crete, and it was an unforgettable experience! Kostas, who assisted with the booking, was friendly and offered us a great price, which made the process easy and pleasant. From the moment we arrived, Andrea, our instructor, made us feel completely at ease. He was incredibly well prepared, provided clear, thorough instructions, and made sure we understood every part of the ride before setting off. His calm, supportive presence was reassuring throughout the journey—he didn’t just guide us technically, but also cared for our emotional comfort, always checking in and making sure we were having fun and felt secure. The tour took us through some of the most beautiful areas of Crete, offering breathtaking scenery and unique, memorable stops. Each location we visited had its own charm, and being able to explore them from a quad added a real sense of adventure. The whole route was well thought out, and every moment felt exciting yet safe. We also stopped at a charming local restaurant – delicious food, friendly atmosphere, and it didn’t cost much either. An unforgettable day! I couldn’t recommend this tour and Andrea enough. It was well worth every penny spent.

Whole day of driving wherever you want with a big powerful 450cc quad for 100 euro is worth it for sure! I highly recommend them, rented and returned quickly and easily. What a fun that was!

I visited Agia Pelagia with my boyfriend, and we rented a car from Motor Sun. It was very well maintained and at a very good price. In the last days of our trip, we also decided to take a private safari. It was quite a surprise. In the beginning, we weren't that sure whether to do it or not, since we never even touched a quad in our lives. But with Andrea’s guidance everything went smoothly. First, we tried the quads to get comfortable with how to use them. Then we started the safari with him leading the way and giving us instructions. He brought us to visit places that we would have never seen by car. He led us safely through all the paths and also took us to some local tavernas to try some typical food. We had an amazing experience. Highly recommended!!

I was ordered a car with an automatic transmission through a travel agency. I received a 10-15 year old car with an empty tank from Motro Sun. If you're looking to dive into an unforgettable adventure, look no further than CRETANDIVERS in Agia Pelagia, Crete. This PADI scuba diving center caters to everyone from beginners to seasoned divers, offering a range of stunning dive sites along the picturesque coastline. One highlight is the vibrant marine life near Chania Old Town, perfect for all experience levels.
The most incredible experience of my life! I was respectfully nervous because I knew it would be a new and potentially dangerous (if you don’t do as you’re told!) activity to do but it didn’t take long to feel safe with our guide Pedro, his fiance and his diving instructor friend. We had some time at the beginning to show us what to do including time with the equipment in the “classroom” so we got to know the hand signals and how to breathe using the regulators. We were shown a video and we went to the ocean. All equipment was provided and we went at a pace that was right for us, making sure we were happy before proceeding. As this was a beginners course, we weren’t allowed below 5m depth but there was so much to see! We saw several species of fish including barracudas! Everything was perfect, the lesson, the dive, the instructors. Incredible, highly recommend!!!!

An absolutely fantastic diving center! Cretan Divers offers top-notch service with excellent equipment and a super friendly, professional staff. A special shoutout to Petrus — not only an outstanding diving instructor but also a brilliant psychologist who knows how to calm your nerves and boost your confidence, whether you’re a total beginner or an experienced diver. His calm presence and deep knowledge made every dive a true pleasure. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a safe, fun, and personalized diving experience in Crete!

Such an incredible experience! Pedros is such a cool guy. Everything was extremely professional from the very beginning to the end. I felt safe during the whole time and enjoyed every minute I spent in a water. It was that good that I decided to book another scuba diving on same holiday!!! Lot's of practical and theoretical knowledge gained. After a short while I felt very confident with what we were doing. This experience gave me lots of beautiful memories which I am going to keep for the rest of my life. Will definitely scuba dive whenever I can. Absolutely love it right now!!! Thank you Pedros and your team. You're all great! ❤️🥳 Prince and Princess 🫣😝

That was the best experience I have ever had! The instructor was professional, very patient (especially with me, cause I am a difficult one🤣) he spent extra time with me practicing how to breath etc. All members of the staff were very polite with great sense of humour. The general experience was amazing! Do not hesitate and book your scuba diving with them ;) Princess xx

Me and my boyfriend booked the Scuba Diving for Beginners course, no prior diving experience. Petros, our instructor lead us through the whole experience with ease and charm and made us feel secure from the beginning. It was an amazing time and after the course we checked immediately, if and how we could get certified to experience even more scuba diving. Thank you Petros and team for showing us the beauty of diving! Hope to be able to dive with you again!
Fabienne K — Google review
Everything about this experience was absolutely amazing. From the start, everyone was calm and patient. I felt safe during the dive and there was no moment where somebody wasn’t watching me or anyone else in the group. The whole experience was made so much more pleasant because of the constant feeling of safety. The dive itself was extremely nice and there was lots of colourful fish to see. Thank you !

Petros, his wife and all the crew there are just so friendly, professional and just lovely people! At first we were both nervous diving for the first time. They took the time to really explain the do’s and don’ts of diving to make us feel really comfortable. This was one of our holiday highlights and when we come back we’ll definitely be diving again with them. You can clearly see they love what they do.

Our whole family just completed our Open Water Certification with Petros at Cretan Divers, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish! Petros was incredibly patient, professional, and encouraging with each of us, making sure everyone felt safe and confident in the water. He has a fantastic way of balancing safety with fun — explaining skills clearly, giving us time to practice, and always checking in to make sure we were comfortable. Learning as a family was such a special experience, and thanks to Petros we all felt fully prepared when it came time for our open water dives. Not only did he give us the knowledge and skills to become certified divers, but he also made the course enjoyable and memorable. We left not only with certifications, but with great family memories and excitement for our next dives together. If you’re looking for a dive instructor in Crete, I can’t recommend Petros and the team at Cretan Divers enough — he made our family’s first step into the diving world truly unforgettable!

Street Food is a great spot for a quick bite, offering tasty gyros, halloumi, and crispy fries. The prices are reasonable and the portions are generous, ensuring good value for money. The food is of high quality, although some improvements can be made in terms of service. There were issues with an overfilled trashcan and plates not being cleared promptly. Additionally, there was a slight delay in receiving the food which seemed longer than expected for fast food.

Amazing! A Great Place for Families We had a fantastic experience here. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the food was excellent. Everything is served family style, which was perfect for our group of 20—we were truly treated like family. We ordered a variety of dishes: fresh salads, delicious appetizers, fish, tender lamb chops, and desserts, plus drinks to finish off the meal. Everything was beautifully prepared. I especially loved their maniuri salad—it was a standout, and I have a great photo of it. Highly recommended!

Alati Restaurant is a delightful spot that perfectly complements a day at the beach, whether you're in the mood for a light lunch or an indulgent afternoon of dining. Nestled along the stunning coast of Agia Pelagia, this eatery offers a diverse menu featuring modern Mediterranean cuisine and traditional Cretan dishes. With an impressive selection of wines, cavas, and signature Alati cocktails, it’s ideal for both casual bites and gourmet experiences.
Visited during coronavirus times. Only had some drinks and an afternoon snack in the town. The staff was very welcoming. The restaurant is part of the Cretan food label / quality mark, which led to great food. The wine was great too. The only remark is that the red wine was really too warm, probably because it sat out in the heat. The restaurant is located on the busy beach stretch of this town.

I went to this restaurant while we were at the beach. What attracted me to this place was the ambiance, nice decor and good view. The waiter was very friendly. As a vegetarian I was happy about the options available. The food was quite good and made with fresh ingredients. Conclusion: I would recommend this restaurant.

We can't comment on the food as we didn't have any. However we stopped here for coffee and beer as we sat watched the huge waves break on the sea wall. The service was good and the views from it's end of the beach is beautiful. Will we be back. Most probably, next year.

Alati is a really romantic and nice restaurant. A lot of seafood and Cretan specialities. The wines are good. After 20:00 are tables made up at the beach, really cozy.
Kaylee W — Google review
The good: nice staff, taking care nicely of my kid and family, proposing a table fast. The entrées were good (maybe a lack of salt) and the proposed wine was excellent The bad: asking about if the wine was local, I get a yes: it is written on the back of the bottle that it was produced in Italy ... I ordered a Beef T-Bone that I wanted rare ("va-et-vient" in French). I got something else: a piece of meat that looked like porc and tasted that way. I asked them to tell me what was the meat: they told me it's not porc but veal. Well, I am sure it was porc and it's ok to screw up in the kitchen, but please don't lie to my face - even if it was veal that was not what was written on the menu (e.g. could be a problem if you are a follower of a certain faith). So terribly disappointed by the low standards of not being honest to your customer, better restaurants in Creta than this one.
