This season, Futuroscope introduces the Aquascope, an expansive water park covering over 6,000 m2. Launched on July 15th, this innovative park offers a one-of-a-kind experience by blending water activities with captivating visuals.
Best waterpark we have been too. The slides are amazing. Water temperature is great. Went in peak season so there were an hour long wait for most of the slides but it was worth the wait. Only downside is that the outdoors doesn’t have enough lounge chairs for everyone and almost all of them are blocked with towels but you never see much people on them. It’s a shame as it specifically says in the T&Cs not to hold loungers if you are not using them but ask the french to respect a rule and they won’t 🙄.
Mondane G — Google review
Really fun experience and great for all ages. The rides were thrilling and the wait times were little if you go in September. I can understand the other reviews because of the opening of the park and people having to wait then. Busiest time seems to be 16:00 till 17:00. Overall really great time!
Leandro J — Google review
It's nice but it's kind of small. The park has 8 sliders and youa re queing between 15 and up to 60 min! They are very nice, my favorite is the quick where you land in a river (with a strong current). There is a swimming pool with waves (kind of small and crowed). There is a slow river inside and the fast river outside. They are both nice. There is an entire place for small children (small sliders, water game,...). Overall its nice and especially if you come with your familly :-) They need to work on the speed at the sliders 😜
Milan M — Google review
An amazing experience! We went the last week of August at 10am. Most of the slides had wait times between 5 - 30 minutes. The Matrix slide line never dropped below an hour. There are 8 slides. For adults and teens, I would suggest skipping 'Spiral' and 'Flash'. Nothing wrong with them, they are just slower and not worth the wait if you want a bit of a thrill. Rocket, Sprint and Flash were my favourite slides. Each brilliant in its own way. As we didn't have a time limit, we did go ahead and wait 1.5 hours to ride the Matrix. It was worth it. I've never been on anything like it. So, if you have the time, I'd recommend just going for it. The Cove and Kine Eau are just as beautiful in person as they are in the photos online. A perfect match to the experiences in Futurescope. My only complaint is that food is not allowed in, and the menu options for vegetarians, vegans or anyone with a food allergy is miserable. We left simply because we got too hungry to carry on. So if you require food that isn't meat or cooked with milk, eat a big meal before you go, as you have minimal to no zero options inside depending on your situation.
Mel B — Google review
Very clean, comfortable (water and ambience temperature) and well organized water park. With plenty of slides for every taste, age and type. The pools with de video mapping are a must you don’t find in other water parks and bring some poetry and illusion to the ambience. Very much worth the visit!!
Ricardo D — Google review
Lines were sooo long. More than 1.1/2 hours to do Matrix, isn’t normal. So many people, hot and stuffy inside and for the price (minimum 39€) not worth it. I won’t go back. The pool outside was nice but the water was too hot.
Mindy L — Google review
It was complete chaos when we got there at 6:30pm. I’ve never been to a waterpark where you have to queue to get a bouy from people coming down a slide. There was no organisation there. We then waited 1 hour 30 minutes for the matrix…and the ride was maybe 60 seconds and very underwhelming :( There’s also no lifeguard at all slides which is quite alarming. The rides also closed at 9:40… but our time slot is up until 10pm :/ Good things: around 8:30 it for much quieter and we managed to do every single ride. The concepts are pretty cool, very futuristic. It’s also quite clean as well, which was very much appreciated and staff are friendly.
Karen A — Google review
Could be an amazing waterpark, but there is no organisation in terms of queuing and monitoring who has stayed past their allocated slot. We arrived at 6pm on a Sunday and the amount of people there when we arrived was ridiculous. It did calm down in the end, but the queue for the matrix ride is such a waste of time as you can spend up to an hour and a half (4 hour slots) waiting. It looked like they only had one float for the whole queue so when a group finished the ride you then had to wait for the lifeguards to bring it back to the top before letting the next group go. Although the facilities looked clean and the pool clarity was decent, the amount of people that were there when we arrived made me question what exactly I was swimming in. The facilities were amazing though and the kids loved it - if it were more organised then I would give it a 5/5.

Arena Futuroscope, nestled just 3 km from the renowned Futuroscope Attraction Park, is a fantastic venue for various events and concerts. Surrounded by lush gardens, it offers a secure environment with easy access and ample parking options. Visitors appreciate the efficient entry process and warm atmosphere inside. However, while the arena excels in organization and location, some attendees have noted that the seating could use improvement for added comfort during longer performances.
Excellent venue. It's easy to find, plenty of parking. Well organised entry which was very quick. Warm venue although we were very high up. Will definitely go again

Restaurant
The Space Loop Restaurant at Futuroscope offers a thrilling dining experience that is unlike any other in France. With its high-speed delivery system, your dishes will whiz and spiral towards you as you sit at your table. The staff is friendly, helpful, and attentive, although there may be some waiting time during peak hours. The food is fresh, of excellent quality, and absolutely delicious. It is served gradually as each order is prepared.
I loved the restaurant - unique concept and tasty food. I was expecting more; it was a bit of a worker's cantina-style food. Poor choice for kids. Could benefit from a few plain ice creams, noncarbonated fruit juices, kid-friendly meals. Ambient is definitely a wow effect - we all enjoyed it. I did not appreciate a bit of condescending attitude from a lady at the entry. She was definitely making people wait for more than necessary “to build anticipation,” which was not welcomed after a long day on foot with kids all over Futuroscope.
Lidija K — Google review
It’s a wonder that the restaurant is always fully booked. The use of loops for food service is interesting but half the time you have to get up and fetch your order because they get piled up as the loops are not automated. The food is okay at best, the glasses have streaks of residue. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant nor will I be coming back.
Abigael N — Google review
We tried the Space Loop Restaurant twice during our stay at the Station Cosmos Hotel, which is conveniently located in the same building. The concept of having your food delivered through looping rails is definitely the main attraction. It's a fun and unique experience. The food is decent and fairly priced, with a nice variety of options. We had dinner there one evening, and honestly, the service was a letdown. We waited over 20 minutes in line while other guests who arrived after us were seated first, and the staff barely acknowledged us. Once at the table, the service was indifferent and not proactive. This came as a surprise since most reviews don’t mention any issues with the staff, so maybe we just caught a bad moment. Our breakfast experience was much smoother. The team was friendlier and more attentive, which made a big difference. All in all, it's worth visiting for the novelty of the concept, but be prepared for a hit-or-miss experience when it comes to service.
Jeremy B — Google review
Very cool space. Worth it for the experience. We were able to get in without reservation on Thursday. Making a reservation on the app is impossible! Food would be better if it was more cooked (limpy fries) and with more vegetables. The food is mediocre but not terrible. Service is annoying, they don't bring bread and water automatically and you have to ask several times. They should just add those items to the computer screen because generally I would rather order with a computer than a server (but I don't speak great French and it's a struggle to communicate). The single use plastic seemed unnecessary. I think the food would be better with a glass/plastic lid.
S S — Google review
Very fun place and great decor. The ordered food arrive in roller-coaster. The food is good, the quantity are a bit limited. We used the prepaid Experience tickets. The blue burger is really fun looking. The salmon pasta are good

Day 2

Northeast side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the northeast side side of town. Start the day off with Église Notre-Dame la Grande, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Gîtes du Domaine de Puy le Comte - Nature Futuroscope Aquascope. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Eglise Notre-Dame la Grande is a Romanesque church located in Poitiers, France, dating back to the 11th and 12th centuries. It features a painted stone interior and stained-glass windows. The church's facade, completed during the days of Alienor of Aquitaine, is considered one of the most impressive Romanesque facades globally.
Beautiful Church, and probably the most beautiful "Romane" architecture style church in France. I recommend to walk by also at night, it is simply magical. Just look at the pictures.

Looks pretty from the outside but it's closed due to renovation so unable to see inside. The picture boards on the outside seem to illustrate and beautiful interior, so it was a shame we couldn't see it all when we visited Poiters.

Amazing experience, after many gothic churches, to see this romanique one give you a big surprise. The only pity is that it is closed for many works of renovation
Manucsn — Google review
We found Our Lady the Great (Notre-Dame la Grande) to be a beautiful eleventh century church. This is a Romanesque design so it is much darker inside compared with the later gothic cathedrals. The interior is also filled beautifully painted support columns. This is a really impressive thousand year old church.
Louis E — Google review
Wonderfully preserved, beautiful old church - exterior and interior. Amazing painted pillars, decorated side chapel ceilings and stained glass. We had the extra joy of a solo with organ rehearsal. Free entry, short walk from Hotel de ville. Quiet as no market on a Monday

A very ancient church, medium sized but contains a lot of history with beautiful stained glass and painted ceilings. Located in the heart of the old Poitiers village. Very quaint.

The Baptistère Saint-Jean in Poitiers is considered the oldest Christian church in France, with origins dating back to the 4th century. It underwent alterations in the 7th century and features a large octagonal pool for baptism, reflecting the practices of Merovingian times. Visitors can explore an archaeological museum inside, showcasing Merovingian sarcophagus covers and impressive murals from the 12th and 13th centuries adorning its walls.

Entered the building intending to pay and there was a couple already having a talk from the person working there, so we waited by the door. The guide then stopped, looked us up and down and asked if we knew we had to pay and "if we could hear her over there", as if we were trying to steal a tour. There was an open door and then no-one in the ticket booth, so I'm not sure what we were expected to do. We left without going in any further.
Andrew M — Google review
Beautiful monument the Saint John baptistry is reputed to be the oldest existing Christian building in Europe. A must see.
Crmier — Google review
Supposedly the oldest existing Christian building in the West and a spectacular example of Merovingian architecture. Interesting part of the history of this building was that it was abandoned around late 1700 during the "Revolution", confiscated from the church, sold to a private citizen who used it as a warehouse! Repurchased and saved from demolition, underwent restoration in the mid 20th century. Worth exploring.
Antoine M — Google review
7th century (c. 630-700), a rare Merovingian period monument preserved in an elevated position in France, houses a rare baptistery. Having the chance to visit this baptistery reminded me of Ravenna.

Church
The Church of Saint-Hilaire the Great in Poitiers is a significant pilgrimage site, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was constructed in the 11th century and is believed to be built upon the tomb of Saint Hilary, the first Bishop of Poitiers. The church served as the focal point for a surrounding neighborhood and had its own protective enclosures.
11th century UNESCO - one of 78 buildings (including, for example, Saint Sernin, the Pont Valentre, the Pilgrims' Hospital of Pons, etc.) on the four French pilgrimage routes to Santiago de Compostela.
Xavier L — Google review
As half of the church was destroyed after the French revolution (used as a stone carry), only the upper part is authentic as the neve and facade were rebuild. But the roman architecture is however wurth while the visit as the repetitive arches within the church gives it a real distinctive atmosphere.

Magical, elegant and beautiful historical ambience. It's history is a fascinating one which dates back to the 11th century. As you approach this church you are immediately drawn to her unusual and unique style. It was damaged during the French Revolution and was restored in the second half of the nineteenth century. A great atmosphere that welcomes all ages, backgrounds and religious beliefs. It's wheelchair friendly and highly recommended for the whole family. It's easily accessible if you're staying in Poitiers or accessible from surrounding areas by public transport or driving. It's a UNESCO World Heritage site bestowed in 1998. A charming and beautiful Church.
Antoine M — Google review
The church of St. Hilaire is one of the most important monuments in Poitiers for a number of reasons. First of all, it retains a good deal of it's 11th century construction and sculpture. This is unusual in French cities, where the rise of Gothic architecture tended to result in the tearing down of Romanesque churches in favor of the elegant new trends of the 13th century on. The current incarnation was built with a timber roof, but when that was replaced with stone vaulting, the nave was found to be too wide to support the weight of the stone above, so some innovative measures were taken in the form of an extra row of piers on each side of the nave to help lessen the span to be supported by the exterior buttresses. The scale of the church is massive, not necessarily in height, but in the volume of the building. Walk slowly down an aisle on one side, traverse the chevet slowly, marvel at the changing light, the 11th and 12th century carvings on the capitals and interior corbels, the remnants of Romanesque frescoes, and try to imagine how a rural medieval pilgrim would have reacted to a structure of this magnitude. You can easily spend an hour or more soaking up the peaceful ambience of the place. Another point of interest about this structure is the fact that part of the west end is missing, as this building was partially destroyed in quarrying activity following the French Revolution. Much of the vaulting in the nave and the western façade were rebuilt during the late-19th century reconstruction boom led by such people as Violet-le-Duc and Joly-Laterme. However, the building is NOT from the 19th century, as another reviewer has stated. St. Hilaire is a remarkable example of 11th and 12th century Romanesque architecture that, despite the relatively small areas of 19th-century reconstruction, is remarkably well preserved. It sits atop the central butte of Poitiers, some distance from the Centre Ville, but it is well worth the hike to get there. It is one of the places I visit every time I am in Poitiers.
Holly S — Google review
Photographs cannot capture the majesty and scale of this 11th century church. Poitiers is a very beautiful and ancient town, the people are friendly, it's easy to navigate and there is so much to see.
Lynne F — Google review
Saint-Hilaire-le-Grand is one of the lightest, most elegant Romanesque churches in all of France. The slender columns rise up to create a great sense of verticality. Not to be missed. Poitiers has several very fine churches.

She then snatched the product from my hands without an apology, said she was removing it from sale, and left without even an apology! Luckily the cashier was polite. Very bad experience. A very charming place and a very comfortable cottage, quiet and well located. Thank you Michèle and Rémi for your welcome. Our family had a wonderful week. Whether it was the parents, children, or grandpa and grandma, we felt right at home! A big plus, we were able to bring our kitty so the whole family could be together ;-) Great, thanks again. (Translated by Google) Excellent welcome, calm and very pleasant environment. Family of 5 including 3 children and 1 dog without problem accommodated in the "village" cottage which has all the necessary equipment and space. Very little use of the car because it is 1km-1.5km from the neighboring town center with playground for children and adults and shops of basic necessities. Supermarkets for refueling are at least 3km away. Very charming and very kind hostess. The grounds of the place are very pleasant and relaxing. The surroundings are ideal for long walks by bike or on foot with very natural spaces. We highly recommend this place which charmed us and very pleasantly surprised us. (Translated by Google) Khalid: Very happy to have found this wonderful accommodation in a natural setting. There were several of us, so I was able to come and go from both the large and small gîtes. They were clean, spacious, with TV, Wi-Fi, a dishwasher, and the option of sleeping on the sofa bed in the living room if there were one or two extra people, etc. Pleasant setting with animals, birdsong, a picnic table on the gîte grounds, away from traffic noise, and we were only 4 km from Futuroscope. A little disappointed not to have had time to walk along the Roman road located right next to the gîte, but hey, it was basically for a Futuroscope stay :) I thank the owners, Michèle and her husband, for the warm welcome, and I'll see you soon :) (Original) Khalid : Très content d'avoir trouvé ce super hébergement dans un coin nature.

Del Arte is the perfect spot for any occasion, whether you're looking to enjoy a lunch with colleagues or a cozy dinner with friends and family. Open every day of the week, this restaurant offers a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes for memorable moments. Guests rave about the friendly service and delicious food, particularly their pizzas which are both tasty and reasonably priced compared to other pizzerias in France. Even during busy times, like Wednesday nights when it can get quite crowded, the staff remains attentive and welcoming.
Amazing dinner! The pizza I ordered was one of the best I’ve ever had. Everything we ordered was outstanding. Excellent service - friendly, professional, and attentive. The staff made me feel welcome and ensured we had everything we needed. The warm and inviting atmosphere added to the experience, and I’ll definitely be back for more. Highly recommend

We had a pizza Regina, ceaser salad and gnocchi Al polo. The portions are honestly massive, even for me which came to a nice surprise. Staff is super helpful and can speak multiple languages if needed. The price of food is affordable. And the atmosphere is amazing.

I can't praise the team at Del Arte enough. The restaurant was completely packed, but the service was still friendly and efficient. Our food was tasty (pizzas, pasta and ice cream for dessert). You should definitely make a reservation during busy periods, and be ready to be patient if it is super busy - but congratulations to the team at Del Arte for great service.

Very big restaurant in an industrial zone but still feels.homely and warm. Staff was wonderful. Extensive menu. Unfortunately the pizza I had was one of the worst I ate in a long time. Their dough is just not right. Unless one chooses a Menu, the prices are high, (and unacceptable considering the quality of the pizzas, not sure if pasta any better). We were there on a Friday evening, it was full of locals and a few foreigners

Château le Clos de la Ribaudière is a sophisticated hotel housed in an 18th-century mansion, offering a luxurious experience with its high-end restaurant, pool, and cocktail bar. Situated just 0.15km from the city center of Chasseneuil-du-Poitou, it provides a verdant retreat along the river near Poitiers and the Futuroscope theme park.
Perfect stop for us and our two young kids on our drive from London to Toulouse. They made kids really welcome without making a big deal of it (lovely kids menu, free breakfast for kids, beds set up in exactly the right configuration when we arrived.) Eating on the terrace is a real treat and the pool is lovely. Lots of EV charging, comfy cool rooms. The staff really made us feel welcome and were so helpful. Our baby was sick on the last night and when I explained to reception that our cleaning efforts might have been insufficient they couldn’t have been more gracious and sympathetic. Would love to go back!

Beautiful setting and lovely place to stay. The food was very nice, but disappointed that for 90 euro, there was not a fish and a meat course, especially as the lobster was very small in the fish dish. The course with raspberry sorbet and confit tomatoes, was not a good idea - remove the tomatoes! Breakfast had a good choice and all the staff were lovely.

Warm welcome, we were back after a couple of years. An oasisi od beautiful France so near to the modernity od the Futurescope. Good dinners and wines. A bit more fantasy at breakfast, perhaps but excellent oranges to freshly aqueaae yourself with a funny, and terribly effective, manual machine.

Beautiful setting and comfortable rooms. The staff were very friendly checking us in. Apart from the front desk, most people were not too comfortable speaking English but everything were conveyed quite well. The food in the restaurant was also quite good. The rooms were nice and comfortable although they didn’t have an iron in there but I think the higher grade rooms does have this. The scenery around the buildings are very beautiful with the river right next to it.

"Objectif Mars" at Futuroscope is an exhilarating space mission simulation ride that combines indoor and outdoor experiences. With top speeds of 55km/h, this unique attraction takes you on a cosmic journey, immersing you in electromagnetic fields and solar eruptions while providing Tesla coil sound effects. It has been recognized as the 'Best New Roller Coaster' at the European Star Awards 2020.
The best ride we had! If you have heart problem don't try this haha but if you are in for some fun, this is definitely a YES! 😉 Long line but worth it, we went there with my kids 10 and 6 year old.
Ein L — Google review
I'm 175cm and a bit fat. Unable to ride after about 1 hour waiting in an endless zig zag. I would expect a mission to Mars to be more inclusive with at least 1 or 2 seats that would accommodate a larger passenger. Also if you have large muscular legs prepare to have your knees pushed together by the safety bar. Overall a terrible experience at the first ride we chose. [Edit: I've been informed there is a test seat at the front of the attraction. However still disappointed that there isn't a larger seat available.]

Service was fast, the restaurant was clean, and the athmosphere was good. The food was not worthy of a French restaurant, however. The food tastes ok but the meat seemed of very low quality and the one salad we ordered was also quite bland (mostly simple iceberg-type green leafs from a bag). The family liked the fries, however, and you can take as much ketchup etc. as you would like. I give three stars in total for athmosphere and service but the food is just two.

Never come here. Absolutely a disaster. This is worse than the restaurants in Mogadishu. There is British food, and then there’s this. How this is worse than British food, I simply cannot comprehend. It is an achievement to be making food this bad. Bland. Soulless. Steak had the texture of “une gomme”, and tasted like water. Fries were reheated frozen slop. Never cook again, and I’m being serious. If there was an option to give negative stars on all aspects, I would. It’s a good thing they serve alcohol because it can drown out the sorrows that come from the food. -10/10. My disappointment is biblical. (Translated by Google) I'm giving it one star because it couldn't be any less. They only had one type of sandwich left: ham and butter. It was frozen solid, and the butter was falling off in chunks, not to mention the ham, which was of very poor quality. The combo meal came with a drink and dessert for €10, which, compared to the prices in this park, is quite affordable but still depressing. Being in France, all the good restaurants closed at 9 p.m., so we had to make do with what little was left.

Restaurant
Fast food restaurant
Illico Resto is a small restaurant located in the park near the attractions. The staff is known for being very friendly, and they serve fresh and good quality sandwiches, making it a great option for a quick meal. While some find it a bit expensive, others argue that considering its location within an amusement park, the quality justifies the cost. Despite some negative reviews, many visitors appreciate the freshness of their sandwiches and the overall service provided by the friendly staff.

(Translated by Google) A long line, so that when it came time to order, there was almost nothing left to eat except vegetarian sandwiches! In the middle of July on a Saturday at mealtime, honestly! We wanted to settle for a waffle, but no, apparently it's only available from 3:30 p.m.! We're in an amusement park and it's peak season? Really? Vraiment ?

(Translated by Google) The restaurant offers meals that are different from what's usually offered in the parks. Different, but good. The sweet potato fries, the sandwiches, the Cuban burger. However, the wait... the three times we went there, it was a 45-minute line. The theming was very good.

(Translated by Google) Five stars for Daunia and Lilou for their impeccable service 👌🏻 Given everyone's moods! Thanks again! As for the queue, it's an area that opened this year and attracts a lot of people. It's obvious that it needs a little bit of running in, but I know that the CDA is keeping an eye on things :) Extra: an exquisitely flavored PAF 🫣 (Original) Les cinq étoiles pour Daunia et Lilou au service impeccable 👌🏻 Vu les humeurs des uns et des autres ! Merci encore !

(Translated by Google) The food, for a fast-food snack, isn't bad; the sweet potato fries and guacamole were very good. However, where it really does pose a problem is the slowness of the service and the friendliness of the staff. I was able to go on one attraction with a 35-minute wait before my husband came back with two drinks... The organization needs to be reviewed...

(Translated by Google) A South American fast food style restaurant. You either like the food or you don't. I liked the hamburger (even though it had some funny colors) but not the sandwich-like dishes, and the same goes for the sweet potato fries. However, there was a pecan pie that I found really good. (Original) Un restaurant style fast-food sud américain.

(Translated by Google) A weekend at the end of July: nothing left to eat except for almost empty salads (three small pieces of beef or chicken) for a bowl of salad. It was really bad. No indication that anything was missing except upon arrival at checkout. With three children, there was no way I could wait in line again at another restaurant. For a new restaurant, this is really a shame.

The poke bowls offered at the Melting Bowl are simply exquisite. The ingredients are fresh and expertly prepared, offering an explosion of flavors in the mouth. I particularly appreciated the variety of options available, allowing me to customize my bowl according to my preferences. Additionally, the portions were generous, ensuring complete satisfaction. The welcome is extremely warm and accommodating (did not book). The menu is very varied and at very affordable prices. The food is served very properly, and it is very good: the quality is there! You absolutely should not hesitate to leave the Park: this excellent address is as much to be visited as it is to be remembered!!! (Translated by Google) So, the pancakes were good, however, the waitress, who was not not forthcoming, rushed us to order and we had to eat quickly, in less than 45 minutes, including dessert. I want to be accommodating but when I go to a restaurant with friends, it is to have a pleasant and friendly time and not to eat without having much time to chat with my friends. We found ourselves in the restaurant parking lot before 9:30 p.m. so we had to chat in the car. So I won't go back and I don't recommend this restaurant to people who want to spend a good evening chatting with the people who are with them.
