If you're seeking an unforgettable family adventure, look no further than "The Extraordinary Voyage" at Futuroscope. This high-tech attraction whisks you away on a breathtaking aerial journey inspired by the legendary travels of Phileas Fogg. As you soar over stunning landscapes and diverse continents, you'll feel as if you're truly flying through the sky. Families who have experienced this ride rave about its exhilarating nature, although some mention that it can be a bit jolting at times.
We visited the place as a family and everyone enjoyed it. It did feel like you are traveling through the sky over mountains and continents . Will recommend it to anyone that always wanted to feel what it would feel like to fly.

100% worth the wait, good and smooth motion from the seats with decent vfx and graphics probably my 2nd favourite ride/attraction after objective mars

The experience was awful. We were with our school, entered there by 10:53 was 11:46 we were still on the line. Not even a staff to help us understand what took us so long. We had lunch marked and we had to leave earlier fearing of missing lunch.

Eglise Notre-Dame la Grande is a Romanesque church located in Poitiers, France, dating back to the 11th and 12th centuries. It features a painted stone interior and stained-glass windows. The church's facade, completed during the days of Alienor of Aquitaine, is considered one of the most impressive Romanesque facades globally.
Beautiful Church, and probably the most beautiful "Romane" architecture style church in France. I recommend to walk by also at night, it is simply magical. Just look at the pictures.
Dan M — Google review
Looks pretty from the outside but it's closed due to renovation so unable to see inside. The picture boards on the outside seem to illustrate and beautiful interior, so it was a shame we couldn't see it all when we visited Poiters.
Matt- F — Google review
Amazing experience, after many gothic churches, to see this romanique one give you a big surprise. The only pity is that it is closed for many works of renovation
Manucsn — Google review
We found Our Lady the Great (Notre-Dame la Grande) to be a beautiful eleventh century church. This is a Romanesque design so it is much darker inside compared with the later gothic cathedrals. The interior is also filled beautifully painted support columns. This is a really impressive thousand year old church.
Louis E — Google review
Wonderfully preserved, beautiful old church - exterior and interior. Amazing painted pillars, decorated side chapel ceilings and stained glass. We had the extra joy of a solo with organ rehearsal. Free entry, short walk from Hotel de ville. Quiet as no market on a Monday
Lindsey H — Google review
A very ancient church, medium sized but contains a lot of history with beautiful stained glass and painted ceilings. Located in the heart of the old Poitiers village. Very quaint.
Ian B — Google review

This season, Futuroscope introduces the Aquascope, an expansive water park covering over 6,000 m2. Launched on July 15th, this innovative park offers a one-of-a-kind experience by blending water activities with captivating visuals.
Best waterpark we have been too. The slides are amazing. Water temperature is great. Went in peak season so there were an hour long wait for most of the slides but it was worth the wait. Only downside is that the outdoors doesn’t have enough lounge chairs for everyone and almost all of them are blocked with towels but you never see much people on them. It’s a shame as it specifically says in the T&Cs not to hold loungers if you are not using them but ask the french to respect a rule and they won’t 🙄.
Mondane G — Google review
Really fun experience and great for all ages. The rides were thrilling and the wait times were little if you go in September. I can understand the other reviews because of the opening of the park and people having to wait then. Busiest time seems to be 16:00 till 17:00. Overall really great time!
Leandro J — Google review
It's nice but it's kind of small. The park has 8 sliders and youa re queing between 15 and up to 60 min! They are very nice, my favorite is the quick where you land in a river (with a strong current). There is a swimming pool with waves (kind of small and crowed). There is a slow river inside and the fast river outside. They are both nice. There is an entire place for small children (small sliders, water game,...). Overall its nice and especially if you come with your familly :-) They need to work on the speed at the sliders 😜
Milan M — Google review
An amazing experience! We went the last week of August at 10am. Most of the slides had wait times between 5 - 30 minutes. The Matrix slide line never dropped below an hour. There are 8 slides. For adults and teens, I would suggest skipping 'Spiral' and 'Flash'. Nothing wrong with them, they are just slower and not worth the wait if you want a bit of a thrill. Rocket, Sprint and Flash were my favourite slides. Each brilliant in its own way. As we didn't have a time limit, we did go ahead and wait 1.5 hours to ride the Matrix. It was worth it. I've never been on anything like it. So, if you have the time, I'd recommend just going for it. The Cove and Kine Eau are just as beautiful in person as they are in the photos online. A perfect match to the experiences in Futurescope. My only complaint is that food is not allowed in, and the menu options for vegetarians, vegans or anyone with a food allergy is miserable. We left simply because we got too hungry to carry on. So if you require food that isn't meat or cooked with milk, eat a big meal before you go, as you have minimal to no zero options inside depending on your situation.
Mel B — Google review
Very clean, comfortable (water and ambience temperature) and well organized water park. With plenty of slides for every taste, age and type. The pools with de video mapping are a must you don’t find in other water parks and bring some poetry and illusion to the ambience. Very much worth the visit!!
Ricardo D — Google review
Lines were sooo long. More than 1.1/2 hours to do Matrix, isn’t normal. So many people, hot and stuffy inside and for the price (minimum 39€) not worth it. I won’t go back. The pool outside was nice but the water was too hot.
Mindy L — Google review
It was complete chaos when we got there at 6:30pm. I’ve never been to a waterpark where you have to queue to get a bouy from people coming down a slide. There was no organisation there. We then waited 1 hour 30 minutes for the matrix…and the ride was maybe 60 seconds and very underwhelming :( There’s also no lifeguard at all slides which is quite alarming. The rides also closed at 9:40… but our time slot is up until 10pm :/ Good things: around 8:30 it for much quieter and we managed to do every single ride. The concepts are pretty cool, very futuristic. It’s also quite clean as well, which was very much appreciated and staff are friendly.
Karen A — Google review
Could be an amazing waterpark, but there is no organisation in terms of queuing and monitoring who has stayed past their allocated slot. We arrived at 6pm on a Sunday and the amount of people there when we arrived was ridiculous. It did calm down in the end, but the queue for the matrix ride is such a waste of time as you can spend up to an hour and a half (4 hour slots) waiting. It looked like they only had one float for the whole queue so when a group finished the ride you then had to wait for the lifeguards to bring it back to the top before letting the next group go. Although the facilities looked clean and the pool clarity was decent, the amount of people that were there when we arrived made me question what exactly I was swimming in. The facilities were amazing though and the kids loved it - if it were more organised then I would give it a 5/5.

The Baptistère Saint-Jean in Poitiers is considered the oldest Christian church in France, with origins dating back to the 4th century. It underwent alterations in the 7th century and features a large octagonal pool for baptism, reflecting the practices of Merovingian times. Visitors can explore an archaeological museum inside, showcasing Merovingian sarcophagus covers and impressive murals from the 12th and 13th centuries adorning its walls.
Nice church with friendly staff. 15 minutes to see it all.

Jean-Pierre L — Google review
Entered the building intending to pay and there was a couple already having a talk from the person working there, so we waited by the door. The guide then stopped, looked us up and down and asked if we knew we had to pay and "if we could hear her over there", as if we were trying to steal a tour. There was an open door and then no-one in the ticket booth, so I'm not sure what we were expected to do. We left without going in any further.
Andrew M — Google review
Beautiful monument the Saint John baptistry is reputed to be the oldest existing Christian building in Europe. A must see.
Crmier — Google review
Supposedly the oldest existing Christian building in the West and a spectacular example of Merovingian architecture. Interesting part of the history of this building was that it was abandoned around late 1700 during the "Revolution", confiscated from the church, sold to a private citizen who used it as a warehouse! Repurchased and saved from demolition, underwent restoration in the mid 20th century. Worth exploring.
Antoine M — Google review
7th century (c. 630-700), a rare Merovingian period monument preserved in an elevated position in France, houses a rare baptistery. Having the chance to visit this baptistery reminded me of Ravenna.
Xavier L — Google review
There is a small charge, which seems flexible if like us, you have a large family. Worth it to see what is claimed to be the oldest christian building in France. There is a leaflet that explains everything. Well worth the walk from the centre of town if you are interested in history.

Church
The Church of Saint-Hilaire the Great in Poitiers is a significant pilgrimage site, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was constructed in the 11th century and is believed to be built upon the tomb of Saint Hilary, the first Bishop of Poitiers. The church served as the focal point for a surrounding neighborhood and had its own protective enclosures.
11th century UNESCO - one of 78 buildings (including, for example, Saint Sernin, the Pont Valentre, the Pilgrims' Hospital of Pons, etc.) on the four French pilgrimage routes to Santiago de Compostela.
Xavier L — Google review
As half of the church was destroyed after the French revolution (used as a stone carry), only the upper part is authentic as the neve and facade were rebuild. But the roman architecture is however wurth while the visit as the repetitive arches within the church gives it a real distinctive atmosphere.

Aymen S — Google review
Magical, elegant and beautiful historical ambience. It's history is a fascinating one which dates back to the 11th century. As you approach this church you are immediately drawn to her unusual and unique style. It was damaged during the French Revolution and was restored in the second half of the nineteenth century. A great atmosphere that welcomes all ages, backgrounds and religious beliefs. It's wheelchair friendly and highly recommended for the whole family. It's easily accessible if you're staying in Poitiers or accessible from surrounding areas by public transport or driving. It's a UNESCO World Heritage site bestowed in 1998. A charming and beautiful Church.
Antoine M — Google review
The church of St. Hilaire is one of the most important monuments in Poitiers for a number of reasons. First of all, it retains a good deal of it's 11th century construction and sculpture. This is unusual in French cities, where the rise of Gothic architecture tended to result in the tearing down of Romanesque churches in favor of the elegant new trends of the 13th century on. The current incarnation was built with a timber roof, but when that was replaced with stone vaulting, the nave was found to be too wide to support the weight of the stone above, so some innovative measures were taken in the form of an extra row of piers on each side of the nave to help lessen the span to be supported by the exterior buttresses. The scale of the church is massive, not necessarily in height, but in the volume of the building. Walk slowly down an aisle on one side, traverse the chevet slowly, marvel at the changing light, the 11th and 12th century carvings on the capitals and interior corbels, the remnants of Romanesque frescoes, and try to imagine how a rural medieval pilgrim would have reacted to a structure of this magnitude. You can easily spend an hour or more soaking up the peaceful ambience of the place. Another point of interest about this structure is the fact that part of the west end is missing, as this building was partially destroyed in quarrying activity following the French Revolution. Much of the vaulting in the nave and the western façade were rebuilt during the late-19th century reconstruction boom led by such people as Violet-le-Duc and Joly-Laterme. However, the building is NOT from the 19th century, as another reviewer has stated. St. Hilaire is a remarkable example of 11th and 12th century Romanesque architecture that, despite the relatively small areas of 19th-century reconstruction, is remarkably well preserved. It sits atop the central butte of Poitiers, some distance from the Centre Ville, but it is well worth the hike to get there. It is one of the places I visit every time I am in Poitiers.
Holly S — Google review
Photographs cannot capture the majesty and scale of this 11th century church. Poitiers is a very beautiful and ancient town, the people are friendly, it's easy to navigate and there is so much to see.
Lynne F — Google review
Saint-Hilaire-le-Grand is one of the lightest, most elegant Romanesque churches in all of France. The slender columns rise up to create a great sense of verticality. Not to be missed. Poitiers has several very fine churches.

The sound and light aspect is sublime, the effects are beautiful, and the slightly magical universe works very well, especially for children. A little fireworks at the end. Small downside: we had a downpour right at the time of the show... too bad, but hey, the weather can't be controlled! The theme is poetic and magical, perfect for little dreamers. Afterwards, I think that adults can quickly get tired of it, but it remains a very nice moment to share with the family to end the day at the park. To see once! We chose laser game with a very nice play area. A good time spent together. We recommend this establishment. (Translated by Google) A promise of 2 hours on the Goolfy, but 1 hour for 5 people ended up being... but hey, €9 per person is still acceptable. As for the Cube, it's a frustrating experience, where not everyone can play in certain rooms (4 max), certain elements don't work, and there's a lot of misunderstanding. I agree that we're not always brilliant, but even on easy, it's almost impossible to complete a room in one go.

(Translated by Google) Super good experience, we came across a young man at the Cube Challenge reception today, he welcomed us very well and explained the principle very well. It's good to see people like that. We recommend it with our eyes closed.

(Translated by Google) A paid attraction, but an exceptional experience. Enjoying a drink at such a height with an extraordinary view of the park, all with your feet dangling, is a must-do!

(Translated by Google) Very expensive, and the time upstairs is very limited: it could be set depending on the number of people present (there was no one there, and we stayed up there for 5 minutes...). The drinks were good, and the server was really nice.

(Translated by Google) Superb, super original bar, it's a real thrill once you get to the top!! Guaranteed thrill, but it's a shame it's so expensive.

(Translated by Google) Super nice to be able to have a drink at 35m height.🍹 The prices are quite reasonable considering that they include theft. The person who accompanies us offers to take a photo of us with the view behind.📸 Everyone exchanges without even knowing each other, the void brings us together 😂 The time at height is quite short but generally we are happy to get our feet back on the ground. An experience that I recommend.

(Translated by Google) They no longer give us the lanyard for the bottles, or they didn't want to give it to us. If the experience isn't complete, it's not worth the 7.40 per drink.
