Amphitrite Point Lighthouse, located at the end of a scenic walking trail, offers stunning ocean views. Despite its simple appearance, it has a rich history as the keepers had to trek daily to light and maintain the lamp. The lighthouse is part of the Wild Pacific Trail in Ucluelet, which provides an 8 km coastal hike with beautiful scenery. Visitors can also enjoy panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and witness breathtaking sunsets from this vantage point.
Honestly, it’s an amazing place for a walk, but when I was there, the path to the sea near the lighthouse was closed — it was marked “Staff Only.” Still, there are lots of trails to explore and informational signs along the way. I would probably recommend coming here at sunrise, just for about half an hour. Overall, it’s a beautiful place, but you should know that there’s a full trail system, and Google Maps might take you to the start of the trail. To get to the lighthouse from there, you’ll have to walk 7 km, so be careful. It’s better to drive directly to the lighthouse — there’s a small parking lot. Of course, if you enjoy hiking, you can walk there from any point along the trail, but it will take a lot of time.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amphitrite Lighthouse is an incredible spot, especially for storm watching! 🌊🌬️ The views of the wild Pacific are absolutely breathtaking, and you can really feel the power of the ocean from here. The waves crashing against the rugged rocks create an unforgettable experience. The trail leading to the lighthouse is well maintained, easy to walk, and surrounded by beautiful coastal scenery. Even on a stormy day, it felt safe and accessible. The lighthouse itself is small but iconic, and the setting makes it feel very special. If you’re in Ucluelet, this is a must-visit whether you want a peaceful walk on a calm day or to witness the dramatic stormy seas. Highly recommend bringing a good rain jacket and camera.
Christo C — Google review
The path is well maintained and lined with plenty of benches to soak in the beautiful views. Some sections were a bit busy with other visitors mostly near scenic lookouts, but all in all quiet. I took a trailhead down to the beach and there were lots of little marine creatures in the tide pools. It was a great mix of forest, and shoreline. The best part was watching an eagle soar overhead.
Wendy D — Google review
Beautiful and iconic lighthouse with stunning coastal views. The walk to the lighthouse is short and scenic, making it easy for everyone to enjoy. Great spot for photos, watching waves crash against the rocks, and just taking in the ocean breeze. A must-visit if you’re exploring the Ucluelet area.

This historic lighthouse is located alongside a hiking trail with a picturesque ocean view. As part of the Wild Pacific Trail, you can follow the Lighthouse Loop, a 2.5km long circular trail around the peninsula on Barkley Sound in the Pacific Ocean. You can't get very close to the lighthouse, but the hiking trail along the coastline is beautifully laid out and rugged. The moss-covered trees and the view of the Pacific are impressive.
Florian M — Google review
the views! So ruggedly beautiful. The Whistle buoy makes it's ominous sounds with the waves. The lighthouse is pretty cool, amazing walking trails. Some may not be suitable for unsteady people. We'll maintained, bathrooms available, easy parking & quick walk to lighthouse.

Really nice spot to visit! The rocks are incredibly rugged and the hike has many beautiful vistas. Great way to spend a couple hours in Ukee!

Arrived early before “official open” but they were there ready, parked first and walked around this incredible place before the crowds turned up. My first visit was 1973 with my parents. This was my 4th time. As always a beautiful spot

Ucluelet Lighthouse Loop

(1407)
Hiking area
The Ucluelet Lighthouse Loop is a must-visit in the town of Ucluelet, offering an easy 1.5-mile trail along the stunning coastline and through evergreen forests. The loop leads to the Amphitrite Point lighthouse, providing breathtaking views of sunrises and sunsets, as well as opportunities for whale watching during springtime.
The Ucluelet Lighthouse Loop is a beautiful, well-maintained trail with stunning views and lots of educational signs that share the area’s history and natural features. The lighthouse itself is charming and definitely worth the visit. The only downside was the lack of leash etiquette of ill-manned dog owners. Several off-leash dogs ran up to my reactive dog, no recall skills or attempts, which made parts of the walk stressful. Yours are friendly doesn’t mean that mine is fine with that. It’s a shared space, and it would be much nicer if everyone respected leash rules. Still, a lovely and informative walk, just be prepared if you’re bringing a dog.
Rae W — Google review
A stunning and peaceful coastal trail! The Ucluelet Lighthouse Loop is an absolute must-do. The trails are beautifully maintained and easy to follow, with plenty of parking available nearby. It’s dog-friendly, which made our walk even more enjoyable. There are benches along the way to sit and take in the breathtaking ocean views, and just the right amount of shade when you need a break from the sun. The mix of forest and coastline makes for an unforgettable experience. A perfect way to enjoy the natural beauty of the area!
Breanna H — Google review
A truly spectacular trail, unmissable if you are going to Ucluelet. The trail is maintained to the highest standards, and there are views all the way round. The lighthouse has some info boards nearby, and you may be lucky and see some deer or eagles. It's just about the perfect walk for appreciating the beauty of this coastline. Enjoy!
Michael W — Google review
A must do if you visiting the Ucluelet area! The loop is about 45 minutes and fairly easy. You get to see the sturdy lighthouse, the thunder-crashing waves, beautiful ocean views, and amazing forest vista's with bent trees bowing down to the ferocious winds that frequent this area. You will want to stop for every Vista to take a breath and decompress to forget the city ad enjoy the wild. Kids will love this walk, and adults will cherish the peace. The new interpretive centre near the lighthouse is worth a stop to engage with the experts there, and don't forget to put some coin into the donation box on the loop trail.
Rizwan K — Google review
Must do hike when staying in Ucluelet! The Whale Parking Lot is within the loop of about 2,5km (and free, but not big). It's not too hard, little elevation. If you have a hard time walking uphill, start by going to the lighthouse and end at the bog. This way you'll be walking the steepest parts going downhill. You can choose to extend your route, by going to Terrace Beach for example (although I didn't find the beach very exciting). The rocks at the coast can be climbed at most places. This is fun! Take some time to let out you're inner child/rock climber. However, remember to be cautious of the waves.
Elske H — Google review
A beautiful trail which can be a bit more challenging if you take the side trips to the beach. Stunning ocean views, an excellent loop describing the bog and plenty of places to rest while admiring the ocean.
Barbara H — Google review
This is a beautiful and very easy hike. Not easy to find long hikes in the area. Fantastic views the whole way round and benches all over for rests and taking in the views and enjoying the sounds of the ocean.

Barkley Cafe is a charming local spot in Ucluelet, known for its warm and laid-back atmosphere. This family-run cafe is committed to sustainable and ethical practices, using eco-friendly packaging and composting coffee grounds in their own garden. Open daily from 7 am to 2 pm, it's a popular pit stop for specialty coffee, baked goods, and delicious sandwiches. Love the vibes here, upbeat, casual, coastal cafe. They offer a lot of different coffee, tea options. It was pretty packed when I dropped in, seems liked by tourists and locals alike, my coffee and sandwich was very tasty.

We went there for breakfast a few times while in Ucluelet. Great coffee and nice food options - highly recommended... PS: They have a vegan bagel with tempeh bacon on the menu. Haven't seen that in North America yet...

The regular drip coffee + English muffin is an absolute must! Got a great vibe inside and the food and service is great. Came here twice for the exact same thing and it was just as good the second time! Bonus for a bathroom that actually looks pretty nice as well!

Chill atmosphere. Bit of a wait due to being so busy. Had gluten friendly options that shared the same oven as all other food. Great coffee.

Lovely place for breakfast, quite crowded in the morning. I loved that they had quite some veggie and vegan option like the Tempeh bagel on the photo.

In Ucluelet, there are several dining options to explore, including Jiggers, The Blue Room, A West Coast Bistro, and Currents Restaurant. Jiggers is known for its signature fish and chips but also offers a diverse menu featuring burgers, chicken strips, and poutine. If you're craving seafood, the area has plenty of options including an oyster truck and local restaurants serving up fresh catches.
Wait was a little long to get fish and chips because of the line, but the taste was absolutely worth it. Fresh fish, amazing texture and taste from the batter, and flawless fries. Poutine was also exceptional.
Enrique — Google review
I recently tried the fish and chips here after hearing some good things. The portion size was generous, and everything was served hot and fresh. However, I found the fish to be a bit too crispy for my liking—almost over-crispy, which took away from the flavor and tenderness of the fish itself. The chips were decent, but overall, the dish didn’t quite live up to the expectations. Not bad, but not particularly memorable either.
Olga P — Google review
So good! Relaxed atmosphere, good music and even better food. Fish and chips was some of the best we had, not a heavy batter but so crispy and the fish was ling cod todays catch! The prawns are equally as fantastic!
Amber-Lynn F — Google review
Really fresh fish and chips! The fish is caught daily, and you can taste the difference. If you’re not a big eater, start with just one piece—the portions are generous, and the fish is huge. They don’t hold back on the fries either! Downside of this was it is bit too much greasy. The coleslaw was a must to wash down those grease.
Leah — Google review
Relaxed vibe just steps from the main road. Cod fillet fish and chips were tender and flaky, cooked exactly as ordered. They cook it fresh so it takes a few minutes to get it ready. Great spot in the heart of town with indoor and outdoor seating.
Sam R — Google review
Food truck serving fresh fish and chips. The batter was nice and light. The fries tasted like home made fries. Once salted the fries were great. The portion size was very generous. Being from Quebec, I was not impressed with the poutine, wrong cheese, wrong gravy, not approved. The plain fries are great just by themselves. Come early and be prepared to wait.
Alex D — Google review
Best fish and test I’ve tested. Beware the portions are really big - we shared two fishes two persons and got full!

Had a great takeaway 2 piece fish and chips meal from Jiggers. The batter was crispy and nicely seasoned. The tartar sauce was also pretty good. It was definitely worth trying!

Canadian Princess Lodge & Marina

Lodge
Motel
Situated on the harbor shore, Canadian Princess Lodge & Marina offers budget-friendly accommodation with easy access to Ucluelet's top attractions. The rooms are affordable and conveniently located within walking distance of key sights. Guests can enjoy spacious accommodations, some with balconies overlooking the marina. While the communal kitchen was closed during one guest's stay, they were accommodated in the staff kitchen area. The attentive staff provide helpful advice and assistance, making for a pleasant experience.
This lodge gives cottage vibes! Homey and cosy with great service! The rooms are updated but still fits the outdoorsy vibe. The clean was clean and the beds, linens and toiletries were lovely! Not the most accessible unless you are on the first floor so if that is a concern, I would make sure to mention this when you book (it wasn’t a concern for us but just something to note for future guests). We have a child with food allergies so the communal kitchen allowed us to prep and cook food for her. It was clean and had everything we needed. A fantastic stay!
Lindsay E — Google review
We booked a stay for one night and we loved it so we decided to stay an extra night. The lady at the front desk upgraded our room so we got to stay in a bigger room upstairs with a loft king bed upstairs and two queen downstairs. The view is beautiful! My only concerns was that one lady I spoke to over the phone when I asked for new towels and garbage bags, she sounded rude and not too happy about it. Also, the rooms were not sound proof so you could hear people next door. It would’ve been nice to have utensils/cutlery and a small table so you could use it to play card games at night and takeout food to bring back to the rooms and have somewhere to eat. We had our dogs with us so we ordered take out and brought back the food to our room. Other than that our overall stay was great. We loved that our dogs were able to stay here as well and the rooms were very clean. Beautiful view, great location and affordable. We would come back.

The location is great. Other than the location the hotel is very basic. Definitely not a 4 star. The bedsheets was all crumpled and did not look as it had been washed or ironed. When we questioned the reception staff she reassured us that they have been washed but not ironed even though we said it didn’t look or feel fresh she did not offer to replace the bedsheets. Photo attached. Also, The hotel has not restaurant or any facility for a meal. If you do arrive late, there is little hope to find food in the area.

Excellent location and superb customer service. Very friendly and helpful staff - can't ask for more. I stayed there last year and loved it so much that I returned a couple of weeks back. Would love to go back again. Highly recommended - you won't regret staying there. Enjoy your stay
AB — Google review
So, we ended up getting upgraded to a loft suite, and it was amazing. Spacious, with stunning views of the harbour, where we could watch the tides change. The king bed in the loft was a delight, and we enjoyed having the extra beds on the main floor where we could relax with our dog and watch tv. Speaking of our dog, the property was massive and we had fun walking the green space and harbour. Even though the building was an older structure, we didn’t have any issues with sound transfer and gave the lodge a cozy cabin vibe. It also was conveniently located in town, with cafes and shops within a 10 minute walk and other outdoor activities a short drive away. I really want to express my heartfelt thanks to the staff, especially the concierge, who went above and beyond, helping us extend our stay since we were loving Ucluelet so much, and making it work for us to stay in our same room so it wouldn’t be too disruptive to our dog. We would definitely stay here again! Comfy accommodations, beautiful views, helpful staff, all in a cool structure. Thanks so much!
Kayleigh W — Google review
Would never stay there again nor would I recommend it. Service was none existent. My sons and grandson stayed 4 nights in august on a fishing trip. I hung the sign up for the room to be done and when we got back in that day it had not been done. I went to the desk and the young lady said we had to request service so I asked that the towels be change and garbage emptied for the next day. When we got back in the next day they had done that but the used towels were still in the tub and they hadn’t replaced or left another roll of toilet paper. For $2135.00 for a four night stay one would think the service would be better. And another thing the bathroom had a elongated toilet with a standard seat on it so 2”of the bowl were sticking out past the seat. Good location though.
Joe&Louise B — Google review
I stayed for 2 nights with my sisters (1 visiting from Ontario) snd we had a great time. The room was clean and wonderful. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was the perfect place to stay between Ucluelet and Tofino to be able to explore both places. The visiting deer in the morning was a nice touch.
Patti F — Google review
Just spent 3 days here. Very friendly/helpful front end staff. Location is very well placed. Room we stayed in had been updated..clean and well appointed. Yes there is a light "musty smell" which for us was acceptable, especially given that you are staying in a well aged, classic wooden building with lots of its own charm. The bath tubs are a real danger for seniors or people with accessibility issues who want to shower, as the tub floor is very slippery. The hand rail supplied does not prevent slipping!! A simple suction rubber bath mat supplied would help. Sorry guys, but I have to give a total thumbs down for the so called 'kitchen". This needs a major renovation to come anywhere near your 4 star rating!! We enjoyed our stay & will definitely be back when in your neck of the woods.

Had a couple of hours in Ucluelet before moving on to Tofino. Stopped at the visitor centre to find out the best things to do in a short time. Camryn was at the desk and she was amazing! Extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the area. She gave us a couple of spots to go to for the views and suggested a restaurant too. Everything recommended by her was worth a visit! Really happy that we stopped by and spoke to her...

Known for its delicious food, rotating craft beers on tap, award-winning BC wines, and attentive service, Cedar Grill is highly recommended by visitors for its well-priced menu featuring dishes like tender lamb shanks.
Stopped in here after a beach day, 2 adults and 1 child. They brought an activity sheet and crayons that kept kiddo happy until the food came. The server was lovely! The calamari was average and came with a pink dipping sauce that I couldn’t decide if I liked or not. The lamb stew (which I think was soup of the day)was amazing, and the salmon pesto Alfredo dish was also delicious. Both came with two pieces of bread which was also absolutely delicious (and promptly shared with the kiddo). I would definitely eat here again if I happened to be in Ucluelet.

We got in at 6pm with a group of four no wait on a Sunday - lucky us ! The food was all really good we ordered chicken wings, Caesar salad, lamb, and three different burgers. Everyone was happy and the portions were very generous I had to take half my lamb home. Very busy place for tourists and locals alike. Friendly staff at the door. We did have to ask for napkins three times and didn’t have the warmest service but clearly this place is always busy and the staff are working extra hard to keep it moving. Overall an easy place to stop where you can count on a good meal.

The food was good and the restaurant cozy! If you’re hungry, don’t go for the salmon as the portion was rather small - the Salmon pasta and the burger were amazing, though! However, the wait was quite long in the evening (around 30 minutes at 7:30 pm).

Wasn’t expecting much coming in, but I was pleasantly surprised with a decent sized burger, crispy fries and a warm and hospitable server, didn’t get her name but mentioned being from Quebec. I’d never had French toast made from a baguette before and I can’t wait to have one again. It was perfectly complemented by the tender and tangy fried chicken. The staff were incredibly accommodating and kind, other places might have pressured me to leave quickly during Saturday brunch rush, but the Heartwood staff let me finish feeding my baby. I really appreciated their warmth and kindness.

If you're in the area and find yourself waiting to get in, then please wait. It's worth it, I promise. There's a line up for a reason. The place is small and there isn't enough seating, but the wait is worth it when you taste it. It's a family owned and run restaurant and the care and attentiveness shows. My party and I tried several different dishes and neither of them disappointed. I loved the atmosphere created by the host and staff and the food definitely hit the spot. Thank you guys for a very pleasurable dining experience!

Heartwood in Ukee is a fantastic choice for breakfast or brunch. The Salmon Benedict is bursting with flavor, and the addition of mustard seeds brings everything together beautifully. It's rich, tangy, and truly unforgettable. Another standout dish is the Fried Chicken and French Toast, which offers an incredible combination of sweet, spicy, and savory flavors that had us finishing our plates. Be prepared to come hungry! The portions are generous, and the bold flavors are impressive. The restaurant itself is charming and cozy, with a patio out back that’s perfect for sunny mornings in Ukee. The staff is delightful! Funny, helpful, and genuinely attentive. While you might have to wait for a table, that only reflects the quality of the food. It's worth it!

From the moment we walked in, Ian and Heather made us feel right at home. Their warm hospitality set the tone for a beautiful meal. The food? Absolutely incredible—every bite was thoughtful, fresh, and full of flavor. The staff were attentive, friendly, and clearly take pride in what they do. We left with full bellies, happy hearts, and big smiles. Our whole family felt cared for and satisfied. Thank you, Heartwood Kitchen, for making our time in Ucluelet so special. We'll be back!

Highly recommend stopping by here for brunch when you are in Ukee. You not going there for a view, for great coffee (basic, filter) but for an awesome meal. Eggs benny with salmon was top, kids ordered the French toast and friends had the fried chicken. Ask the server for a bit of their tasty hot sauce to try. It’s 🤌🏼

The food was soo good I had ate everything then scraped the plate clean! The house hotsauce is the most flavourful sauce I've ever tried, not the most spicy, the most flavourful. It was so good it could be drank like juice from a bottle. The chef is professional and plating dishes better then most Michelin chefs I have seen. This resturant alone is worth the trip from Ontario here. We were finished and I was scraping the plate clean when they came to take them away! The best brekfeast place in Canada hands down with no question. A must try for anyone able to make the trip.

today is my first time here and there’s a lot of guests waiting outside to be seated. the staff told me the waiting time is about 25 mins but later we wait for 50 mins, i think they have a lot of room to improve their service in this aspect. anyway, the food is very tasty and i particular love the fried chicken , friend toast and fried bacon., sure will come again .

We had a lunch at Heartwood Kitchen. We had to wait a few minutes since it was quite busy, but this was well worth it. I ordered the chicken with sweet toast, which was the perfect combination of sweet en spicy. It was very tasty and well priced. My wife had the Huevos Rancheros tortilla which was delicious. The service was really kind and thoughtful. The only downpart was that our plates were empty. We both said to each other; "We could eat here again tomorrow or even tonight. Would definitely recommend this place! If we would ever visit Ucluelet again, we will definitely come back.

Gray Whale Ice Cream & Delicatessen is a charming, long-standing cafe and deli that has been a staple in Ucluelet since 1985. This cozy spot offers a variety of treats including ice cream, sandwiches, baked goods, and an espresso bar. It's also a great place to pick up local BC products and specialty foods for unique gifts.
I had a scoop of lemon and a scoop of peanut butter and chocolate on a cone, and my friend got a scoop of tiger, tiger, and mango coconut gelato. Yum, yum. So delicious after an 8.5 mile walk.

I only stopped by for the icecream. But definitely well worth the price. Scoops were very large. Not a huge huge amount of flavours but a good selection of the staples flavours. Ladies working were very friendly too

Great spot for coffee and baked goods. We didn't have the opportunity for other menu items, but given our experience, I wouldn't hesitate.

It's a beautiful family cafe and boutique, next to the harbour, with a very cool, calm, and warm atmosphere. We tasted their very good traditional breakfast, with delicious Chai Latte and hot chocolate. We were also tempted to by their greedy chocolate muffins. It was delicious ! The people and the service are very nice ! I highly recommand this place, and I'm looking forward to going back there. Thank you again for that great experience in Ukee !

West Coast Shapes Surf Rentals and Ukee Poke is a delightful spot offering delicious smoothies and poke bowls. The berry smoothie has a refreshing sourness, while the yellow one with ginger is sweet and tasty. The poke bowls are incredible with super fresh ingredients and a great variety to choose from. Customers rave about the freshest fish, quality ingredients, and excellent topping selection. The friendly customer service adds to the lovely ambiance inside, making it a must-visit place for poke lovers on Vancouver Island.
One of our best meals of our trip! The poke was very fresh and there was a variety of toppings to choose from to customize your order! The space is awesome! Wood fire place, two beautiful friendly cats to enjoy and a very local vibe sitting around the surf boards! Staff was very friendly and thanked us for coming and welcomed us back by mentioning there camping opportunities! Will definitely return!

Ukee Poke - one of the best stops on our honeymoon. We were recommended to stop here by some of our friends in Seattle. We instantly knew we were at a great spot by the atmosphere and very friendly and welcoming staff. We ended up trying poke for the first time and were blown away. They have so many different options for creating your own poke bowl. Not to mention the best smoothies we have ever had. They have the freshest, most refreshing smoothies. All the food is at a very reasonable price. We will definitely be spreading the word back in Seattle and returning on our next trip to Vancouver Island.

Ukee Poke is a solid spot for fresh and tasty poke bowls. The ingredients are fresh, portions are generous, and the flavors are really well balanced. Staff are friendly and service is quick, making it perfect for a casual meal after a day out. Definitely a go-to if you’re craving poke in Ucluelet.

Stayed at their car camping site for 2 nights and it was a nice home away from home. It's located very close to the National Park visitor centre. It was quiet at night sleeping in my car. The washrooms were also very clean. Staff was welcoming as well. And a cute cat kept me company. I like how there were vegan options at the Poke restaurant too.

Such a hidden gem! My friend and I arrived Friday afternoon and were instantly blown away. The weather was perfect, the vibe was peaceful, and the poke bowls — so fresh and flavorful! We were lucky enough to catch live music on Friday night which made the experience even better. The campground is in a perfect spot, right between Ucluelet and Tofino — super convenient for exploring both. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a chill, west coast stay with amazing food and good energy!
Milaine R — Google review
A great lower cost camping option 30 min from Tofino! We stayed 3 nights. Outdoor shower was hot. The bathrooms were mostly clean. The fairy lights around the bathrooms are left on at night which made us feel safer. You can hear the highway from the tent, but we expected that and had no issues as not much traffic overnight. No car access to the tent sites but this wasn't an issue for us. Only caveat is that given this is a lower cost camping option, it's likely to attract students. There was a large group having a rowdy party one night when we were there which dominated the communal space.
Ella M — Google review
Very beautiful and generous portions! Ordered the Poke Bowl with salmon and tuna and the Chicken and Tuna Tacos. Super fresh definitely could share the poke bowl with someone for a light quick lunch.

Brewery
Ucluelet Brewing Company is a must-visit for craft beer enthusiasts in the area. Located on the waterfront, it offers stunning views and a warm atmosphere. The brewery takes pride in being part of Vancouver Island's craft beer community and is led by Head Brewer Allan, an active figure in the Pacific Northwest craft beer culture. Visitors appreciate the helpful staff who cater to diverse tastes, making it baby-friendly as well.
The Stout That Punched Me in the Soul Walked into Ucluelet Brewing Company thinking I’d have a casual beer. Walked out questioning my life choices in the best possible way. That stout? Absolute sorcery. Smooth, dark, rich, and by far the strongest I’ve ever had. Not strong like “oh I feel this,” but strong like “am I about to write poetry on a driftwood log?” I took one sip and immediately felt like I could wrestle a bear. Or at least a raccoon with attitude. You don’t drink this stout. You experience it. Somewhere between the second and third sip I reached enlightenment. By the fourth, I considered calling my ex just to apologize for not being more emotionally available. It hit so hard I’m pretty sure Chuck Norris himself nodded in respect. This isn’t just a beer. It’s a black belt in a glass. On top of the beer-induced spiritual awakening, the vibe here is incredible. Warm wood beams, killer ambiance, and friendly staff who somehow knew I needed water without asking. Ten out of ten. Would absolutely get drop-kicked by that stout again. Cheers.

The grilled cheese sandwich was pretty good, but I was disappointed in the ketchup. And the salad was tiny for $14. I just expected more. The seafood dip was a strange concoction. I wasn’t a fan of the smoked salmon inside the dip. I enjoyed my beer while looking out for bears.

A great local brewery in Ucluelet, BC, conveniently located on Main Street with scenic views. The beer is flavorful and worth a try. Don’t miss this spot if you’re visiting and want to enjoy a drink with a view of Ucluelet.

The atmosphere here was excellent. I can’t comment on the food because I didn’t have any, but the beer flights were very fun! A somewhat limited menu, but really good and local beer. Awesome view when sitting outside!
Kate S — Google review
The atmosphere was good. The service good. The food was tasty, but there was a limited selection available as they’d sold out of 6 dishes on their menu, and it’s a limited menu to start with. It forced us to order something I probably would have never ordered and thankfully the items ordered were very flavourful. Beer was good. I’ll go back.

Great spot to have drinks with a view! They were out of several menu items when we went which was unfortunate but we still enjoyed what we ordered. The hummus was delicious but it would be even better with some fresh veggies.

Coffee was fine. Went with kids and there were no bottled drinks to purchase. Asked for tap water was like pulling teeth. I would’ve been happy to purchase drinks for the kids, but that was just not an option. No restroom to use, and only a sign that pointed you to the aquarium or a public bathroom a few blocks away. Same with a garbage can - they point you to the street to use public garbage. We visited with two families and we were all disappointed.

Reflecting Spirit Gallery Inc. is a small but captivating art space in Ucluelet, showcasing mainly Nuu-chah-nulth art such as carvings, paintings, prints, and photographs that reflect the culture of Vancouver Island's natives. Visitors can expect to be visually stunned and humbly educated by spending time perusing the displays.
The Reflecting Spirit Gallery is not to be missed. This galley & gift shop in the ocean village of Ucluelet has a wide range of offerings from books to wooden crafts, art & more . I think that the gulf islands attract artists, for whatever reason. Ucluelet is certainly the kind of town that would be in a good position to show some of these talents off. A beautifully set up shop. It packs a tonne of items without feeling too cluttery. The staff member was so nice to talk to and had time (January visit) to point out of few items of interest knowing I was just browsing, even though I said I was just browsing (not looking to buy anything). I'm happy a lot of retail shops are moving towards a less pushy/sales pitch style, but at times you can feel ignored too. This was the perfect balance.

A sweet gallery. Has a large range of stunning work from artists around. My favourite is the mathematical landscapes and trees using the golden mean by artist Didymus Bernadotte! Incredible! A must see!

Great gallery, great service. I visited this gallery during a recent trip. They had a great selection of art for reasonable prices. After I went home I couldn't stop thinking about one of the paintings so I called to buy it and have it shipped to me. The staff was very helpful. They shipped the painting the next day and it arrived quickly even with an international ship. They had packaged it very well so it arrived in perfect condition.
Natasha L — Google review
Great place to have a look at some good quality, native arts of all types. Many truly beautiful pieces. However, they are too pricey for my liking.

Lovely shop/gallery. The art work was gorgeous, and lots of post cards, and little souvenirs.

Local artists, stunning pieces, specially Didymus Bernadotte's fantastic geometric work. We had a great conversation with Cygni the owner. It is a must-see place in Ucluelet.
Christine G — Google review
We just dropped in for some window shopping and to pick up some gift items and souvenirs to take back home, but the paintings and art work were so good that we simply could not tear our eyes away from them. Most of the paintings and carvings were done by local artisans and the First Nation craftsmen. But being from overseas the paintings and sculptures were too big for us to take in an airplane. We settled for the smaller stuff like key-chains, bookmarks and trinkets.

Paddle West Kayaking offers an exceptional 4-hour kayak tour in Ucluelet, where you might even have the chance to witness orcas hunting for seals near the coast. The knowledgeable and friendly guides ensure a memorable experience, pointing out various wildlife such as starfish, sea anemones, crabs, and jellyfish along the coast.
Thank you for amazing trip Paddle West! 🛶 Especially to our guide Katie - she was professional, fun, and full of great stories and information about Ucluelet, First Nations history, and local wildlife. She took us to a beautiful little beach where we had lunch. The weather was perfect, and the color of the water was absolutely stunning. The highlight was seeing little harbor seals popping up to say hi and we even spotted a bear and lots of eagles! What an amazing morning on the water. I’ll definitely recommend taking a tour with this company and Katie. I’ll be back for sure 😊

Such a great experience! Emily was an awesome guide – super friendly and knowledgeable. The harbour was beautiful to paddle around, and we were lucky enough to see a group of sea lions (very vocal!) and a baby bear on the shoreline, which was incredible. Felt really safe the whole time but also relaxed and fun. Definitely a highlight of our trip to Ucluelet!

Led by the brilliant Sophie, me, my wife Claire and another British couple set forth on a 4 hour ocean going kayaking tour from Ucluelet. Our initial nerves were out to bed very quickly and what followed was an absolute joy. Scenery to die for, sea lions, seals, eagles, jumping fish and dinner plate sized star fish abound. It was a super 4 hours, hugely enjoyable and very accessible for people our age (58) with little kayaking experience. Superb.

I really enjoyed my kayak trip with Paddle West Kayaking and Luca was a great guide! The waves were too high in the open ocean so he took us on an extended tour of the inlet. He shared interesting information about the area and also pointed out a lot of wildlife. We were lucky enough to see three bears, a sea lion, a couple Harbour seals, and a bald eagle! Would 100% book again the next time I'm in Ucluelet!

I have paddled with you guys so often you really rock. It was very windy on Sunday and Lucas was very good to check in with all of the paddlers on their comfort level. Ukee Dogs Taqueria is a vibrant and lively eatery in Ucluelet, offering a diverse menu of gourmet tacos, creative hot dogs, burritos, and more. We’ve been in Ucluelet for five days, how did we miss this spot until now!! Started with some hard tea, perfect for a rainy day. I had the Korean dog…delish! Their kimchee is awesome. Hubby had the whole hog and another win. Great little place to stop.
Elke R — Google review
We found this place as we were looking for some dog friendly options. We were greeted right away, given the menus and told to pick a seat and he will be right with us. It was not busy, only two other tables were there. After watching the server spending 20 minutes flirting with the girls at the other table and totally ignoring us, he finally came over to take our order. It didn't seem like he is interested in working. I ordered the Tuna Sliders. The tuna was slightly on the dryer side but other than that they were flavourful and tasty. My boyfriend had the Korean Hotdog which was great. The food and drinks showed up in a timely manner, but the service could really use more attention. We weren't asked if we would like anything else. I sent my boyfriend inside to pay to speed up the process a little. All in all, a place with potential but lack of an eye for detail and service.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An absolute must-stop in Ucluelet! We stumbled across Ukee Dogs while exploring Ucluelet and couldn’t have been happier we did. The vibe here is super chill — a funky mix of laid-back west coast energy and fun, eclectic decor. The patio is bright and colourful, complete with covered seating, making it a perfect place to relax, grab a bite, and soak in the atmosphere. We tried a few different dogs, and every one of them hit the spot. The Ukee Dog — a chili cheese dog — was loaded with flavour and super satisfying. The Spicy Mexican Dog had just the right amount of heat, topped with fresh pico and a drizzle of creamy sauce. Both were creative, well-balanced, and totally crave-worthy. Fries were hot, crispy, and generously portioned — the kind you keep snacking on even when you say you’re full. Bonus: they’ve got local beers on tap, which made the whole experience even better. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and service was quick even though it was busy. We also loved how dog-friendly the place was — we had our pup with us, and he was treated like a guest too. Whether you’re just passing through or staying in Ukee for a while, make sure to swing by Ukee Dogs. It’s got great food, awesome vibes, and that perfect west coast charm. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town!

We stopped in for lunch and had a great experience. The staff was attentive, friendly, and genuinely kind—our server (an Australian guy) made us feel welcome right away. The hot dogs were delicious, and while the space is small with limited seating, it’s absolutely worth a visit if you’re in the area.

One of the only places open for a quick bite on Thanksgiving Monday and it was really busy. I felt bad as they only had one front of the house person working and she was run off her feet. Great hot dogs with some interesting flavour combinations and I greatly enjoyed my veggie dog. We took it to go and enjoyed it back at the hotel.

We arrived before 6pm midweek and there was plenty of space. There, we found prompt and cheerful service, great music playing, the food arrived quickly and it was really good quality. We ordered the brisket and the pulled pork burger and both were excellent - the brisket was tender and the burger was so tasty. The fries were great too. We also sampled their lemon meringue pie. By the time we finished, there was a queue out the door for tables - worth the wait in my opinion. Great restaurant!

Fun little eatery at a great location and perfect music (don't underestimate that part). We had a nice bite and spicy Caesar before our whale watching trip. The panko crusted cod was so good!
Charlie P — Google review
We had a negative experience at this restaurant. We came in asking for a party of 6 for dinner. We waited maybe 25 minutes for a table. Usually restaurants will notify you in advance if they plan to seat you outside or would ask you first if that’s okay to be seated outside. (Considering it was very chilly in Ucluelet that day) We waited 25 minutes only to find out she was going to seat us outside. If we knew, we probably wouldn’t eat there. They had heaters but apparently weren’t working. Only one worked and it was used on the other side of the outdoor seating. It was very cold and the food took over 1 hour to arrive. We waited almost 1.5 hours. So we were sitting in the cold just waiting for our food for that long. After waiting 30 minutes after ordering the food, the waitress came to notify us that the food is not gonna take just 15 minutes and that she just wanted to let us know so we are on the same page. We said okay but it would have been nice if she gave us a heads up food will take roughly an hour before seating us!! Never did she mention at all that it would take over an hour. Not only that but the food was very mediocre. I got the seafood linguine for 41$ or 43$? The pasta didn’t taste horrible but it’s something I can make at home or a very very most simple pasta restaurant can make for half the price or less. There were only shrimp and fish inside too. For this price, I can get a very fancy pasta in Downtown vancouver or even fine dine. There weren’t even any better seafood inside. Overall, it was just not worth it. The food and experience both were meh. If food is gonna take 1 hour, we should definitely be notified before even getting seated. Common courtesy.

Fantastic place! The waitress is marvellous, high energy, attentive and just great. Had a lovely vegan burger and partner the pork with cornbread and mash (we have been in Canada 3 weeks and he said it was the best think he has had on the trip). IPA was so good too. This place looks understated but has a great vibe and great food and drink.

The food took a while to arrive but once it did, oh man. My family and I honestly were not expecting much but the food blew us away. The panko breaded cod. The bacon-wrapped scallops. The clams. The wings. All VERY delicious and well-presented too. They’ve got a charming patio as well which is perfect for a pint under the cool yet sunny Ukee skies. Highly recommend.

Frankie's Resto Bar: A Must-Try in Ucluelet! Frankie's Resto Bar is a real gem! We had a fantastic meal here and were impressed by the quality and flavour of everything we ordered. The seared tuna salad was incredibly fresh and tasty – a perfect light and satisfying option. But the real stars of the show were the lemon pepper chicken wings. They were perfectly crispy and absolutely addictive. If you like a bit of heat, you must try their homemade jalapeño and habanero hot sauce. You can tell it's made with fresh ingredients, and it packs a delicious punch! We also thoroughly enjoyed the classic lingcod fish and chips. The fish was fresh and the batter was light and crispy. To top it all off, Frankie's has a great selection of beers on tap and their spicy Caesar is a winner. The service was friendly and efficient, making for a truly enjoyable dining experience. We highly recommend Frankie's Resto Bar and will definitely be back on our next visit to Ucluelet!

If you are visiting in Ucluelet - do yourself a favour and visit this lovely bakery. The service (self service) was kind and pleasant. They have great selection of goodies, everything looks good and it was hard to choose. We ordered the almond croissant, latte and hot chocolate and it was great. We enjoyed the great atmosphere in the place and the view of the lake. Highly recommended.

Carrot Cake was moist and soft with pineapple chunks, icing was not too sweet, loved it! The Pear frangipane Tart wasn't as buttery as I'm used to, but the sweetness was not too sweet which I like. Coffee was good, like their interior and the stuff they sell in the shop. The pizza in the warmer looks amazing. If we were able to dine in we'd probably order that even though we just had lunch.

Zoe's was recommended to us and it was the best decision we made when visiting Ucluelet!! Being vegans we've learned to live with mediocre food served at restaurants and cafes but Zoe's just knocked it out of the park! My partner and I bought 3 of their buffalo cauliflower focaccia bread sandwiches, the Thai coconut soup, black bean brownies, vegan cheesecake cups and cappuccinos with oat and almond milks. We gorged on the sandwiches, they were very tasty with just the right amount of sauciness and spice! The Thai coconut soup was the most wholesome soup I've ever had at a restaurant/Cafe, they did not skimp on veggies or flavor, I had to go back inside and let them know how much I enjoyed it. The brownie and cheesecake cups were also great for vegan pastries. We came back the next morning and though they did not have any vegan food ready at the time I tried their biscotti and Cinnamon bun (both non-vegan) and was quite happy with them! Did mention they had GOOD coffee?? They had GOOD coffee!! The staff were lovely as well 🧡 I hope they continue to serve great food, have great business and also add more amazing vegan pastries to their line up in the future!

Good coffee, nice food and nice staff. Definitely a home baked good feel to everything and that a good thing. You can tell love and care has gone into everything. We had this most mornings and had lots to pick and chose from and all was great. Would recommend ordering online to avoid the lines on peak times. Line was fun just for people watching so that as a good way to pass the time. Oh if you dislike birds 100% order online and expect to eat away from the tables and railings.

A nice breakfast and lunch cafe with cute outdoor seating giving you a camp vibe. This is located near the city centre and a great way to interact with the locals while you munch on their menu. We had order Lunch sandwich and it was one of the best sandwiches I have had. The staff is amazing and accommodating. Visit local cafes and support them!

Worth the wait! There was quite a line up when we got there on a Saturday afternoon… but both the americano and London fog were exceptional. We also ordered the cinnamon cruffin and the berry ploptart which was enough to draw us back tomorrow! Cute atmosphere as well- with a large table at the entrance for sitting.

Very cosy atmosphere and interesting interior. We had delicious flat whites and a yummy bowl of grains & veggies. It was really busy, yet staff was friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended. They got quite a bit of outdoor seating too.

Delicious and freshly baked offerings from this spot! We enjoyed delicious vegetarian fares - the mushroom soup was so comforting and the peanut butter bar was insanely good! We visited twice during our time in ucluelet, before and after doing the hikes in the area - great treats to indulge on!

This is a busy little shop with good coffee and many treats to choose from They have a nice little section of items to buy, mugs, coffee beans and so on. It will probably be busy when you show up, stand in line and grab a treat. Friendly staff and a great location

BEST brioche I’ve ever had - actually the best baked good!! sweet, soft, slightly yeasty and not as dense as it might look. beautifully decorated with flowers, and the apricot was divine, not too sweet. I grew up in a bakery, so if my mom reads this I’m in trouble.

We had a great experience eating here today. I got the wings, wife had chicken and brie on sour dough, the kids, poutine and chicken club. Very delicious! I had their house made hot sauce and had to buy a bottle upon leaving it was so good! Nice family friendly place, the food is reasonably priced and the serice was awesome! We just moved here a few months ago and this will now be one of our usual go to places for eating out and for hot sauce!

Lovely little restaurant for brunch! We came on a very busy Monday morning. We waited about 20 min for a table for 2. The staff were lovely - super friendly and attentive. We ordered the salmon eggs Benedict and a build-your-own omelette. They were both really good. The hash-browns were delicious as well - I just wish the portion was a little bigger but that is a minor criticism. Service was wonderful. Overall we really enjoyed our meals at The Blue Room. We’ll definitely return the next time we visit Ucluelet.

I had a nice hazy beer to go with a well prepared brunch. It was nice and busy with a local and visiting crowd alike atmosphere. Food was on point I ordered the meat and eggs with a variety of meat sides like chorizo, sausage, Bacon etc. The lady had the classic Benny and a blueberry pancakes. The pancake was missing that mmm factor needed some more blueberries and vanilla.

A very regular place to have your breakfast, with indoor and patio seating options. Their menu is good which is why I wanted to try it. We ordered meatless breakfast plate and breaky Quinoa bowl. Both the dishes were just okay and nothing great about them. Portion sizes were very small ,the house special hash brown was fried diced potatoes and the poached egg on the quinoa bowl was almost a well done boiled egg.Anyway, the food came out pretty quick and you can give it a try only if you have to.

Great pub fare, friendly staff, and seemingly a mix of locals and tourists coming down for a bite. Expect a possible wait during peak hours- we arrived around 1pm and waited about 10-15 mins for a table of 4. They have a great spicy calamari and the chowder was tasty. Nice big family bathroom with a changing table if you need that, too.

Highly recommend, great breakfast spot! They are creative, ethical and conscious. Lots of great options. I want to come back again and again until I’ve tried everything! They are very kind as well! it was a little chilly and the inside was full so we sat on the patio and they brought us cozy blankets!!

Really good food. Managed to time it perfectly and scooped a 2 person table in the full restaurant just before a stream of people came looking to eat. We both had a ukee wrap with chowder and it was excellent. Also had deep fried dill pickles which my wife can never say no to and they were also great. Good and friendly service as well.

Tasty brunch food with filling portions. I think I was most surprised with the quinoa power bowl. This place does get busy and may have a small line up but turnover is quick. Staff here are also very friendly.

Lovely little cafe. The staff are fantastic! Please don’t be in a hurry when you go and have a back up order! I went 2x as the first day my choice was sold out! It was well worth the extra visit! I enjoyed the Mystic smoothie, Jamu, Pad Thai, Mushroom Chocolate, Chai Tea Latte, the Bahn Mi and the carrot cake! I really wanted to try more smoothies and the rainbow rolls! Just not enough time in Ucluelet to do that!

Yayu Café wasn’t our first pick as we’re not vegan, and only ended up here because everywhere else was closed. But wow, what a surprise! We had the Pad Thai, Dragon Bowl, and a latte with almond milk. Everything was absolutely delicious. The Pad Thai, especially, blew us away! I already miss it and can’t believe how flavourful it was without any meat or dairy. They truly know how to do vegan food right. Definitely worth a visit, even if you’re not vegan!

🌴 Ambience: A very cute cafe right around the corner from Break Cafe. The inside is small but there's space for at least 10-12 people. It's warm and the scent of baking is wafting through the air. The chefs/servers/owners(?) are very friendly and approachable. They open bright and early at 8am. 🍲 Food: A great variety of food and drinks! We got the chai seed bowl, Mac and cheese and dragon bowl. Out of all the dragon bowl was my favourite, since it had a great mix of flavours. But everything was good with sizeable portions. 🫑 Vegetarian Value: Everything here is vegan! So this is a great place to grab breakfast or lunch. 💸 Price: Slightly pricey, but you're paying for good ingredients, so I'd say definitely give this place a try.

If you don’t want to wait in line for good food, come here! We went on a Sunday where the other nearby places were packed, so happy we went here! Food was great, big serving of the açaí and the staff were nice. The place was a vibe!

Went to yayu today and got a breakfast burrito and it was the best food I’ve had this trip! I’m not even a vegan. I was greeted immediately by everyone and loved the atmosphere. After being on the road for a while having quick eats it’s nice to go somewhere that you can feel good about the food you’re putting inside yourself. Fairly priced, delicious and healthy. Can’t ask for much more
