Cape Henlopen State Park, a serene sanctuary set on a former military base, provides an array of attractions for nature enthusiasts and history buffs alike. Visitors can explore World War II lookout towers at Gordons Pond Beach and delve into the historical significance of Fort Miles Historical Area. The park also boasts scenic trails that wind through coastal marshes and wooded terrain, offering glimpses of natural beauty. Additionally, the Seaside Nature Center provides an educational experience focused on local wildlife and habitats.
Cape Henlopen State Park and the historic Fort Miles area are absolute gems on the Delaware coast. We spent several days exploring the park and came away with a deep appreciation for both its natural beauty and its layered history. The bike trail is one of the best we’ve ridden—smooth, scenic, and well-marked. You can easily make a 20-mile loop starting in Rehoboth, riding through the park, stopping in Lewes, and heading back. Along the way, there are gorgeous views of the bay, wooded stretches, salt marshes, and dunes. Perfect for early morning rides—especially if you catch the sunrise over the water. The Fort Miles Historic Area is a must-see. The preserved WWII bunkers and watchtowers are fascinating, especially for kids (and adults) interested in military history. One of the highlights of our trip was climbing to the top of one of the old watchtowers and taking in the sweeping view of the Atlantic. The lighthouse, though only accessible by boat, makes for great photo ops from the shore. We stopped there on foot and caught some great light for pictures in the evening. From wildlife and wide beaches to history and family-friendly trails, this place has it all. A perfect blend of outdoor adventure and quiet reflection.

Came here with my wife during our 1-year anniversary trip 😊 Our entry wasn't the greatest, we didn't have any cash and the ranger seemed disappointed by this. She told us that we could go to the kiosk and it'd take "A minute and a half." No it doesn't 😂 Does she really think someone my age carries cash? 😂 But after that everything was cool! The observation tower you can climb up is neat and gives you a great view of the surrounding area. And just seeing the guns up close is crazy, they're so big! The beaches are nice too, though some of the sand was a little squishy for our tastes. And its a great spot to go birding if you're into that! We saw hundreds of birds here! Definitely worth a stop if you're visiting Delaware regardless of hobbies 👍🏻

Cape Henlopen State Park is one of the best destinations in Delaware. The beaches are clean, wide, and perfect for swimming, sunbathing, or fishing. The trails are well-marked and offer great hiking and biking through dunes, forests, and marshes. The WWII observation towers and Fort Miles add interesting history to the visit. Restrooms and facilities were very clean and well-kept, and parking was easy with plenty of space. Wildlife is abundant—you can spot deer, birds, and more along the trails. Whether you want to relax on the beach, explore nature, or learn some history, Cape Henlopen has it all.

Tent camped for four nights at the end of September. Ocean was still warm. We saw dolphins and lots of Osprey. The hawk watch folks were out monitoring for migrating birds. Cape Henlopen has an unusual ecosystem. Trails take you through sandy vernal pools that have cranberries, low and tall blueberries, bayberry, sassafras, and pine trees. We enjoyed hiking through this forest. We also loved the roughly 16 mile bike loop through Gordon's pond and nearby developments. Also enjoyed riding bikes into town for dinner or ice-cream. Don't forget to visit Fort Miles, climb the WWII tower, and visit the north beach access which offers both the bay and ocean beaches.
Sara S — Google review
This a wonderful park! I want to highlight especially the Bike Barn where you can loan adult and kid bikes and helmets for free (donations appreciated!) and the staff is kind, friendly and eager help. The loop is 3 miles which you can easily bike with just a few moderate/gentle hills. A short walk from the Bike Barn is a fantastic playground which is partially shaded, with benches and picnic tables in the shade as well- a gift for parents with young kids. We can’t wait to come back! Oh and they have a water station where you can refill your water bottles!
Erica M — Google review
This is a campground for RVs and tents. They also have cabins available. They have a huge hike and bike trail. Beautiful. This is a WWII historical place that once was a military base. 🇺🇸 1.5 miles from the Atlantic Ocean.

Cape Henlopen State Park is a large park with many biking paths, trails, beaches, a fishing pier, and WWII towers. One is open to climb to the top to view of the surrounding area. Herring Point is a beach frequented by surfers, and the Main Beach has a nice bathhouse and boardwalk over the dunes to a lovely stretch of beach. One may also visit Fort Miles Museum and the Seaside Nature Center within the park. The park also has an area for camping. We watched a pod of dolphins from the main beach one day and saw crabs and shore birds. Spend part of a day or several days at Cape Henlopen State Park. You will be glad you did.

Went for a 5K run. It was a beautiful morning. The signs on how to get to the event were limited no one at the front or signs to state which way to go but overall it was a good time. The park was clean and quiet.

Historic Walking Areas
The Fort Miles Historical Area in Cape Henlopen State Park is a fascinating WWII relic that offers tours, interpretive programs, and a swing band. The museum is a well-preserved remnant of the era, complete with restored battlements and guns. Visitors can enjoy stunning views from the top of the tower while learning about the history of this important military installation. Although the museum may be closed at times, there is still plenty to explore and discover at this educational and entertaining destination for families.
We visited Fort Miles while in the park on Memorial Day. The museum was doing a free self guided partial tour of some of the rooms inside the bunker. There was a paid tour that day but we missed it. I would check the website to see what they are offering on any given day. If you are into WWII history it just US history in general this would be a good place to visit if you’re in the area. There is quite a good bit of information about the Fort’s importance in the war and beyond. There was no fee for admission on the day we visited, just the park admission but check the website for info on paid tours.

Honestly I'm not quite sure the history of these barracks but it makes for a dope bike ride 🚴🏼 Hit this on a day that isn't too hot so you can bike for ~15 miles to fully enjoy the park / historical area. You won't find the most picturesque features here but the ride and ocean views are fun

A spontaneous stop at Fort Miles turned into a fascinating history lesson! We were surprised to learn about the critical role this location played in World War II, particularly its defense against German U-boats. It's a sobering reminder of how close the war came to the U.S. mainland. The knowledgeable staff truly brought the history to life. They explained everything in detail, making even the lesser-known aspects of the war, like U-boat attacks off the U.S. coast and the tragic loss of life, come into focus. Their expertise really deepened our understanding of this period. I was particularly surprised to learn that a piece of the USS Arizona from Pearl Harbor is on display here. It served as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made during the war. Seeing this artifact firsthand added a whole new layer of significance to the experience. Fort Miles is a treasure trove for history lovers. With so much to learn and see, it's definitely worth a visit! From the strategic location to the stories of U-boat attacks and the USS Arizona memorial, this place offers a unique window into a sometimes forgotten part of World War II history.

Nicely preserved Delaware Bay fort in a breathtaking park. A lot of nature, sand, ocean... And cannons 😄 Worth spending half a day.
Karolis S — Google review
The Museum was closed Sundays, but the exterior was cool. There are buildings you can walk around, and several huge guns that are set around the grounds you can look at. Some scenic overlooks as well as informational plaques. It's great to walk around. Easy to park and the paths are easy to navigate. You can see cargo ships sailing into the bay, and even New Jersey across the water on a clear day.
Morgan B — Google review
Fort Miles is a hidden gem within Cape Henlopen State Park. For anyone with a passing interest in history, the Fort is a “real” facility from WWII, not a replica. Be sure and time your visit to take the tour offered by knowledgeable docents to get a better understanding of the history and significance of the Fort.

Nectar Cafe & Juice Bar is a charming rustic-chic eatery that serves up delicious breakfast and lunch options, along with freshly squeezed juices, craft beer, and wine. The cafe offers generous portions and attentive service in a cozy and inviting atmosphere. While the cappuccino may not be for everyone, the food receives high praise, particularly the steak and eggs and Spanish omelet with added ham.
Off the beaten path. A place you do not want to miss! The Spanish Omelette is delicious and so is the beet salad / chicken salad! Highly recommended this place.

Nectar is a gem in Lewes! It has a warm, old farmhouse kitchen vibe that makes you feel right at home the moment you walk in. This cozy spot is perfect for breakfast or lunch, and their fresh juices are amazing — they purée the fruit right when you order, and you can really taste the difference. The food is consistently delicious, and the pastries and cookies at the counter are a must-try. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, which adds to the charm. Prices are a bit on the higher side, but totally in line with similar places in the area. There's table and bar seating, plus a comfy couch in front of a fireplace — perfect for relaxing with a coffee or juice. Highly recommend!

If you are a vegetarian or vegan, or just looking for something out of the ordinary, Nectar is your place for lunch in Lewis Delaware. The menu has a eclectic entrées and sides. You can get a Vegan tuna salad substitute made from chickpeas and Nori. It definitely has that seaside flavor. You can get a side of kale chips. this is nestled halfway down a little alley, but is much larger inside than you would think. Plenty of seating. decor is kind of French country. Kitchen meets antique dealer. My only complaint is that my chair had hard wooden slats for a seat which was uncomfortable. staff were friendly and everything came out very quickly. that I mentioned this is also a juice bar. They have some just fruit juice but if you are adventurous like me, you will try the root smoothie with sweet potato beets, ginger, and other ingredients. Parking is a problem during the busy summer season because this is a seaside town with a well developed shopping and restaurant District. You might have to circle the block a few times and find parking a couple blocks away. But that will definitely be worth it as this place really has amazing food. And top it off with their amazing chocolate avocado torte. This is served with fresh fruit in season.

Many absolutely delicious vegan options! We enjoyed our lunch so much we returned a few days later. Charming atmosphere and reasonable prices. I highly recommend the Tu “No Fish” sandwich and the Powerhouse sandwich. Can’t wait to go back and try their other vegan options next summer!

Great place for breakfast and a beautiful little town. Everything was perfect food service and atmosphere. I had the bacon omelette with the sweet potato hash on the side which was great.

Breakfast menu is great! Love the eggs Benedict, pancakes, and lattes. I wish they took reservations because the wait is always long. The front area gets packed with people putting their names down for the wait.

We went on a Sunday morning at 10am. Very lucky to get 2 seats at the bar top area. Sat down and the guys working ignored us until went and asked the hostess for service. We got water by 10:30am, we then had to ask to order our drinks and food, we got our bloody Mary’s by 11am. We then got our food by 11:30am. Not 1 person gave any kind of service at all. It was a very unpleasant experience due to the lack of service. Food was ok but not worth the wait. I really wanted to make a great review with all 5 stars but I just can’t. Sorry Nectar, but I would work on the service side of your business if you really want to succeed….

Museums
Zwaanendael Museum is a local-history museum housed in a replica Dutch city hall, commemorating Delaware’s first settlement. The museum showcases the maritime history of Lewes and features artifacts from the sunken British warship H.M.B. DeBraak. Its impressive architectural design is inspired by Hoorn, Holland's city hall, reflecting the Dutch influence on the region's history.
Good place. It’s free. Small but with a lot of history. The second floor has a space for the kids to do a lot of activities. You can donate some money at the end of the tour. Average time to spend … about 30 minutes.

Pretty cool little stop. Beautiful garden in the back and cool artifacts to look at inside the museum. Plus we got to see the merman.

Zwaanendael Museum is a nice small two story museum with interesting artifacts and a MERMAN on display! The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. The building is lovely and there is a well kept garden with fountain in back.
Carol J — Google review
This is a small museum that showcases the Lewes area’s maritime, military and social history. It is two floors, with only the first floor being accessible as there are stairs leading up to the second floor. No elevator. The staff is very nice and knowledgeable. Happy to give a history of the place and answer questions. It’s a quick stop. Free, donations accepted. Bathrooms located in the park behind the museum. Street parking with two nearby 30 minutes spots reserved for those visiting the museum.
Tatiana H — Google review
Lewes was the first Dutch settlement which influenced the architecture. This museum showcases some of the area's history which is deep in maritime. You must head upstairs just to see the Merman - historic oddity to say the least. While up there, check out the exhibit of the Roosevelt Inlet shipwreck. It was found by chance while dredging the canal. While I was there, they had an open exhibit so you could touch some of the artifacts. There is no cost to enter, but donations are accepted.

Tulip exhibit was amazing. The stories on the lighthouses and local exhibit were really cool.

Nestled in the charming town of Lewes, Kindle is a delightful bistro that exudes warmth and intimacy with its dark wood decor, flickering candles, and inviting wall sconces. This French-influenced American eatery stands out as one of the few romantic spots in the area, making it perfect for date nights.
What a neat little place. It's got that perfect balance of busy energy while simultaneously feeling calm and uncrowded. HIGHLY recommend the burger & the muscles dish. Great staff and good beer selection on draft 🍺 Located in a cute area of Lewes, make sure to check out the surrounding stores!

Here for work and Kindle came highly recommended. I had the fig salad and crab dip…both were incredible. I also had the gingerbread blondie which was delicious. Service was great and atmosphere was charming and warm. Highly recommend!

This was our first time here and we will definitely come back! There is an electric, fun atmosphere which contributes to the overall dining experience. The food is excellent, and there are many interesting and exciting options on the menu. I started with the Shrimp & Polenta which was a tasty mix of shrimp, roasted tomatoes and polenta in a brandy inspired broth. I was in the mood for steak, and went with the Steak Frites. The portion was huge, and was served with a generous portion of steamed asparagus. The steak was juicy and delicious. The homemade steak sauce added to the overall experience. My wife had the Lobster Bucatini which she raved about. Service was friendly and accommodating. You can't go wrong here.

The atmosphere is top-notch. Our table ordered the salmon, the Kindle burger, and the vegetable gnocchi - all were delicious and reasonably priced for the quality. Their draft beer selection is small, but they make up for it with their cocktail menu and other drink options.
Sasha R — Google review
This was our first time to Kindle & we will definitely be back! The Italian cocktail I ordered was delicious & came with a refill! While all of the food was delicious, the lobster spaghetti is an absolute must try & is what will bring us back next year when we visit DE again.

My twin sister and brother-in-law (who is a foodie) were in town from MA so we wanted to take them to a can't miss restaurant - Kindle and they didn't disappoint. We asked for our favorite waitress, Corrine and were fortunate to get one of her tables. She's terrific. We had the mussels and baked brie appetizers and both were delicious. I had the Pan Roasted Filet Mignon and as usual it was cooked to perfection. My wife had their Roasted Squash Cornucopia and it was delicious. My twin sister had the Shrimp & Polenta she said the sauce was "absolutely delicious". And my brother-in-law, at Corrine's suggestion, ordered the Grilled Pork Rib Chop which he said was the best he ever tasted. We just had to compliment the chef, Daniel, in person and he graciously came out to our table so we could tell him about our perfect dinner. The apple cobbler and pumpkin cheesecake desserts along with large sized cups of coffee topped off our evening. My twin sister and brother-in-law both want to go back to Kindle next time they come in from Massachusetts. Thank you Kindle staff. Bob & Wendy

Indian restaurant
Nestled along Savannah Road in the charming town of Lewes, Raas is a delightful new addition to the local dining scene. This Indian fusion pan-Asian restaurant, which opened its doors in mid-August, occupies a historic Queen Anne Victorian house that has seen many families call it home over the years. Chef Gyanendra GG Gupta leads this culinary venture under the Masala Hospitality Group, aiming to celebrate food and culture while highlighting the medicinal benefits of Indian cuisine.
Came here with a large group and was absolutley delighted with the meal. To start, We were a group of 13 and they somehow managed to time everything... so kudos there. We had a variety of apps but the fried cauliflower was divine as was the chat. We would come back here alone for that. For the dinner our table shared a variety of dishes. We had some saag paneer, cinnamon curry chicken, chicken tiki masala, as well as the lentils dish. Everything was fantastic... but the saag paneer and curry chicken was an absolutley perfect blend of spices, texture, and taste overall. We would gladly drive an hour plus to come here and enjoy the meal. Five stars way for us and I don't give those much.

We stopped in for lunch and enjoyed a couple of small plates along with an entrée—everything was outstanding. The food, presentation, and service were the best I’ve experienced in Delaware. After three years of living here, I only wish I had discovered this place sooner. It’s now firmly on my list of favorite restaurants. The Blood Orange Martini was fantastic, and when I casually mentioned it was my birthday, our waitress surprised me with a delicious slice of chocolate cake. Highly recommend the Vegetable Samosa, Spiced Aloo Tuk, Butter Chicken, and Garlic Naan.

Our recent visit to Raas in Lewes was extremely disappointing. From the start, mistakes kept happening: the Italian wine we ordered was actually from Sonoma, and the server’s explanation was confusing. My husband’s Branzino arrived wrong, and the replacement was unexpectedly large, with no warning. While waiting, staff offered naan bread, but we were later charged for it. The Branzino cost $132, and the wine was $12 more than expected. We noticed a note at the door stating “under new management,” which might explain the series of errors. Having enjoyed two previous visits with excellent experiences, this recent visit completely shattered our expectations. Errors after errors ruined what was meant to be a special evening. Unfortunately, we will not be returning. After our review: The manager personally called to apologize, and we could feel how sincere he was. It really impressed us — it’s clear he’s someone who takes his work to heart.

We had another fabulous meal at Raas. Chef Saddam outdid himself with the most delicious feast, making special food for me (due to allergies) and surprising us with additional delights that showcased his exceptional culinary talent. This is the best Indian restaurant in Delaware and we travel several times a year just to eat here. Kim took excellent care of us too. All round 10/10 star experience.

I only thought I had eaten the best Indian food around. What a huge surprise to find it in Lewes, Delaware. Started with the chili and olive naan, lamb seeks kebab, and ended with the tandoori prawns and stir fry lamb. The flavors were incredible, sauces delicious, heat was perfect. Curtis, our server and bartender, was very attentive and knowledgeable of every single dish. Will definitely be going back there again.

Guests rave about the exceptional quality of the steaks served at Harvest Tide Steakhouse, with many claiming it to be among the best they've ever tasted.
My husband and I came here to celebrate his birthday, and it was a beautiful experience overall. The restaurant itself is absolutely stunning such a warm, elegant atmosphere. The food was incredible, and the presentation was top notch. I did run into a bit of an issue with my steak it had to be sent back twice, once for being overcooked and then again for being severely undercooked. That said, management handled the situation with care and professionalism, and they made sure we were taken care of. Our waitress was fantastic super attentive and friendly. Dessert was a highlight! The cheesecake is to die for, and my husband’s mousse was a perfect 10/10. Highly recommend this spot for a special occasion like a birthday. All around, a very beautiful place to eat and celebrate!

Overall a pleasant experience but the restaurant needs to do some tweaking and polishing. First of all in order to make a reservation you actually have to use a credit card to make a “deposit” which I’ve never heard of before. Secondly, although the ambiance was nice and the service was pretty good (not impeccable mind you) the whole experience was entirely too expensive with our party walking away with over a $400.00 check for dinner (with all of our party even forgoing appetizers and dessert as a cost savings measure). This restaurant does not even bring complimentary bread to the table….rolls must be purchased at $3.50 per roll. Lastly the menu does lack some variety with many of those in my party feeling “forced” in to picking the $27 burger. The food was decent and overall a good experience but it was not worth the money paid.

Your first greeted with an outside seating Pavilion. Here it would appear that dogs are welcome in this area. It is outside and as we all know the beach area in Delaware is Superdog friendly. Inside your next stop is at a little greeting station where you then are seated. The atmosphere is somewhat of a mix of Farmhouse meets Elegance. We sat at the long Chef's Table. This enabled us to see some of what was going on in the kitchen. You actually got to see more of the food stylist doing her thing. Her duties were a literal piece of art. She handled each dish cleaning it of any splatters and making it beautiful. We got the sweet potato soup and Rosemary rolls to start. We also got steak, and truffle potatoes. All was pretty fabulous. The taste was fantastic. The presentation was stellar. The wait staff was attentive. You should know going into this restaurant it is a higher end restaurant. So you can expect depending on what you're ordering $50 up per person. We enjoyed our experience.

Really nice steakhouse with an open, airy high end beachy vibe. The ingredients tasted fresh and they had surf & turf which was our goal. The rosemary dinner rolls were fantastic. We had a little hiccup with the host at the start, where we were essentially ignored while they chatted conversationally on the phone - like we're about to spend over $200 here is there someone else who can help us but anyways after that it was great.

My bartender Alexis made this such a fantastic experience! She was busy but gave such attentive care to not only me and my friends but the other guests! The drinks were great! Thanks for talking me into trying the avocado fritters! They were so delicious! Definitely coming back here thanks to Alexis

This restaurant was underwhelming for the price point. Our party of six, including four locals, dined at Harvest Tide on a quiet weeknight. While the atmosphere was relaxed and the restaurant wasn’t crowded, the service was noticeably slow — it took over 45 minutes for our meals to arrive after ordering. Additionally, we had to make several requests for a soda refill throughout our time there. As for the food, there were mixed experiences. The crab cake, which came with a $15 upcharge, was quite small and had more filler than expected. My filet mignon lacked seasoning, and the green beans were also devoid of seasoning and unfortunately not enjoyable. On a positive note, the Smith Island cake was a hit — rich, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We were also pleasantly surprised by the Stump Jump Shiraz, which was featured as a special and paired nicely with our meal.

My husband and I dined at Harvest Tide on NYE as our first night out as new parents. The restaurant has wonderful ambience, even on a high traffic night. Shout out to their amazing servers Alexis & Jasmine, y’all made our night!
Krystina B — Google review
SUPER expensive for absolutely NO reason! The food was a 3 at most! The crab Mac & cheese barely had crab in it & the Mac & cheese was soo bland! I honestly don’t think they used any seasoning on any dish. The crab cakes were small & literally tasted like a ball of crab meat. There was nothing in it. The seafood pasta was ok. Seems like everything was tomato based. I would just get the pasta for the shrimp, that literally was the only thing good on the plate. & they gave us maybe 2.. it just was a waste of time & money.

Grain On The Rocks is a newly renovated space at the Cape May-Lewes Ferry Terminal, featuring a coffee shop that opens at 7am and serves Lewes Coffee drinks. The beautiful bar offers stunning views of the bay, making it an ideal spot to enjoy a meal or drinks. On Wednesday nights, they highlight prime rib specials with options for different cuts. Visitors can savor dishes like lobster rolls and grain burgers while enjoying the outdoor seating area with waterfront views.
We stopped to grab a bite while waiting for the ferry to Cape May. The service was fantastic, very quick and attentive. I ordered the sticky pineapple chicken tenders; they were crispy and full of flavor. I upgraded to tater tots and they were crunchy! My husband ordered the Philly and said it was good and flavorful, the cheese was gooey. The view is nice and their ambiance was very warm and welcoming.

I enjoyed my meal at Grain on the Rocks. I had the lobster roll, and my husband had the grain burger. Both of us were very happy with our food and our beers. Our server was friendly and attentive, which is always a plus. I loved the outdoor seating to enjoy the breezes off the water and watching the ferry and other boats go past. The ferry terminal as well as the restaurants are wheelchair accessible. I personally think someone would be more comfortable with the outdoor seating. My only reason for not giving five stars is my slight disappointment in the lack of options on the menu. Still, it was overall a good experience for us!

Service was excellent. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive. My crab cake sandwich needed more seasoning, in my opinion, and the added $ for the roasted asparagus was well worth it! My sister had fish and chips and liked it. The restaurant offered a discount for people who took a boat ride at that location. We had the dolphin tour.

Located right on the water there is nothing else to say other than this place is great! The food was amazing. I ordered the fish and chips. Service was incredible. It was a very clean and presentable establishment. Highly recommend to anyone that rides the ferry from NJ to DE for lunch or dinner!

Very loud atmosphere due to the high ceilings and loud bar area which is open to the dining area. I ordered a Cuban sandwich and ended up with a cold ham and Swiss sandwich for $19! It wasn't even pressed or grilled. I couldn't have been more disappointed. I doubt I'll ever go back or recommend this place to anyone.

The first time I ordered the smash burger it was really good. This time I made the mistake of ordering ahead of time. Don't do that. Burger looks like this. See pic.Spent way too much on this really bad burger.

Was waiting for 12:15 ferry and got there around 10am to have some breakfast and drinks with my party. Spent over $120.00 and when we were finished went to the outside with our small group of 4 and sat at 1 of the tables while all others were empty with the exception of 1 table older couple that had bought a coffee and a pastry from the snack shack inside. Our group was approached by 2 younger girls probably servers and asked if we needed anything. We replied No we just left the bar we are good. A few minutes later we were approached by an older woman dark hair and said we needed to move because someone needed to sit there. Now I looked at all and I mean all tables except for the one that had the older couple at that time and asked "They need to sit at this exact table?"" She then said yes you have to move. I then started pointing at several other tables saying we'll can I sit at any of those and she said no they are being used . She proceeded to tell us we had to leave although I reiterated we just left the bar only a few moments ago and just wanted to sit for a few minutes before our ferry came. She then agin said we had to leave. I then asked her a rhetorical question and said "I guess I'm being a DICK?" thinking I'll joke with her to make light of this ridiculous situation and she came back and surprised me with"YES YOU ARE BEING A DICK!" Unbelievable, I should have been a real dick and asked for her supervisor. Oh by the way when our ferry left about a half hour after this incident, nobody was out there and the outside seating was still all empty. Was a good experience until that.

Beautiful waterfront view with great service. Food was absolutely delicious. Audrey, my waitress, and the kitchen were accommodating to my dietary needs. All of the staff were very nice and seemed very happy. They were friendly towards all of the customers and treated everyone equally. The food was served in a timely manner even though the restaurant was quite busy with the ferry crowd. To those complaining about flies- you're by the water. Deal with it. The restaurant was very clean. And to those complaining about the staff, you were probably the problem. This was my third time here, and everyone has been nothing but nice, and the food has been consistent. Be kind to your food service workers. They're human, too

North side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the north side side of town. Start the day off with Big Oyster Brewery, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to King's Homemade Ice Cream. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Big Oyster Brewery, housed in the Big Red Barn on Kings Highway, offers a vibrant atmosphere with a full bar featuring 16 beers on tap and a selection of wines. The brewery recently introduced unique brews like the Popsicle Dreamsicle IPA and Unreal IPA. With over a dozen beers on tap, this spot is popular among beer enthusiasts. The menu includes tempting options like the Fried Oyster PoBoy and specialty B.O.B.s Mac & Cheese Bakes.
Big Oyster Brewery is an amazing place to grab food or a drink right off of Lewes Beach. The oyster sampler was amazing, great fresh local flavor. I had the fried catfish blt lunch special and it was by far one of the best catfish sandwiches I’ve ever had. The bartender was great, very assertive and friendly. Plenty of seating inside and also outside dining in the back.

I went with a group of friends on a Thursday in March. We sat outside in the covered tent area which was pleasantly cozy. They have great happy hour options including drinks and food. I had high hopes for the Hammerhead IPA but it turned out to be an alright beer. I really liked the style of the wings but wasn't a fan of the flavor of the buffalo sauce. Overall a great experience.

Was here with family and friends for a dinner. We got sat right away despite it looking packed. The place is MASSIVE. The servers were friendly and very fast. This is a very busy place so if you're looking for more laid back and quiet, maybe not here. It worked great for us. There's lots of kids and a whole play area for them. The beer was great (I loved the Jedi youngling). Really like the crab dip and nachos. Overall a great spot for a beach drink and decent food.

Our group of 7 drove 45 minutes out of the way to come here. I had been here a few years ago with some family, and my grandmother said the Oyster po'boy was the best sandwich she ever had. It was great then & is still great now. I dont remember the name of our waitress, but she had blonde hair & we had impeccable service. Food came out quickly, was hot and delicious. The cream of crab soup is slightly salty,I think from the old bay on top, but it's still very good. The Philly cheesteak egg rolls were good, but I felt like they needed a little more seasoning for an even better flavor and change the dipping sauce to a chipotle or cajun ranch would set it off flavor wise. No suggestions for our other dishes; brussel sprouts, tater tots, fried pickles, pretzel, steamed shrimp, fried shrimp, Oyster po'boy and pork tacos were crazy good. Ill go the extra miles when I'm in the area to come back again. We arrived right when they opened but by the time we left it was pretty full.

★★★★★ Simply the Best at the Beach! 🍻🇺🇸 Big Oyster Brewery is a destination, not just a restaurant. My family and I love coming here because there is something for everyone. The beer selection is phenomenal, with a huge range of styles that are always fresh and delicious. The staff is fantastic—our server was so knowledgeable and friendly, offering great suggestions for both beer and food 😋. The food is top-tier, far beyond typical pub fare. The atmosphere is what really sets this place apart. The massive outdoor area is perfect for families, with a playscape that keeps the kids happy for hours 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦. It’s a huge bonus that the space is enclosed, so the kids can run around while the adults can relax with a beer. The live music in the summer adds to the laid-back, fun vibe 🎶. We also loved grabbing a few cans to take home from the excellent to-go selection. This place is perfect for any occasion, whether it's a family dinner, a night out with friends, or happy hour. Big Oyster Brewery has it all—amazing beer, delicious food, and a fantastic atmosphere. We can't wait to come back! ✨🇺🇸 #BigOysterBrewery #LewesDE #DelawareBeaches #CraftBeer #BreweryLife #FamilyFriendly #EatLocal #DrinkLocal #OutdoorDining #LiveMusic #HappyHour

Vacationing with kids, teens & adults can be challenging especially when it comes to mealtimes. Big Oyster Brewery was just the spot for all of us. The kids had a blast in the playground area, the teens colored & played word games & the adults drank. The Dunkel beer was authentic & delicious. The cocktails were small but affordable & tasty. I ordered the shrimp po boy & asked if the lettuce could be substituted for the spicy slaw I saw on the fish taco description. Although I didn’t try the sandwich with the lettuce the slaw was awesome on it & I recommend to the kitchen staff to change that up because the crisp cabbage really adds a nice texture. My side was the Brussel sprouts & they were great. (I tried some fries too, also good) Ooohhh almost forgot, their signature hot sauce is worth grabbing a bottle to go.

Just found my new favorite place to eat in Lewes. It just has a great vibe inside and out with lots of seating options, including the nursery area and the atrium. I had what I believe they call a cinnamon roll croissant, which is what you might expect to get if monkey bread and a croissant had a kid together. It was yummy!

If ever in Lewes Delaware you have to try The Station on Kings! As soon as you walk in you are surrounded by cute artifacts for entertaining your guests. They even had a wide selection of cheeses and condiments. Even the local bakery selection enticed my appetite. Love their collection for bringing the meal back to your house. Fancy serving platters to wood selection of all sizes. They even had nautical candles to light up your next gourmet meal. Plenty of sauces and spices to enhance any plate. You will be the STAR ⭐️ of your next get together with friends and family. If you don’t have time to order or wait? Just grab one of the prepared salads and cheese selections to make for a delicious and easier meal to go. But I had the opportunity to order and sit for lunch. I highly recommend their Charcuterie board, and Grain Bowl with added grilled chicken breast. Delightful! Make sure you save time to stroll through there garden.

The establishment's beautiful interior resembles a Victorian home with red shutters, providing an inviting atmosphere for diners. Guests can indulge in delicious cheese and charcuterie boards before savoring delectable entrees such as Amish chicken and rockfish. This was one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. We sat at the bar, and the service was amazing. Andrea was super knowledgeable about the menu, and the chef Ben, surprised us with a crab salad that was incredible. We ordered a cheese and meat board, the rabbit perogies, the pasta and lamb. Everything exceeded our expectations, from the plating to the flavor profiles. I can’t wait to go back!

In addition to the main market, there is also a Wednesday morning market at Crooked Hammock Brewery from June to September. Visitors can find an array of fresh produce, flowers, baked goods, and specialty items such as lavender oil and crab meat.
Lovely regular market on Saturdays, with lots of beautiful produce, Old World Breads, local honey and flowers. Make sure to buy duck eggs from Twin Post farm's stand - amazing for baking! Or grab a bagel and coffee from Surf Bagel while you wander the market.

Went today 6/21/25 and it is now at George Smith park and easier to park. Some vendors aren’t here but Kalmae farms, lavender fields, Bennett and Fofer orchards are still there as well as old world breads. These are old time standards and they have amazing things. Got my scrapple today too. Bring your bags and bring your cash for a great Saturday shopping trip which then I make our lunch and dinner. It has moved a few times however it is always fun time in Lewes. Great fresh items from companies like fifer orchards. Everything from bread, Kennett mushrooms, scones, all sorts of fruit. Kalmar farms with Lima beans and potatoes. Lavender farms amazing oil. The list goes on and on. Crab meat to dream about. Bring cash especially singles. Cards are taken in some form by most vendors however cash is appreciated. Just a wonderful market

I love farmers markets, I have an autoimmune disease that only allows me to eat organic foods, No hormones, antibiotics or pesticides, absolutely no chemicals. All naturally grown, free range, nothing added. All the farmers and other establishments who sell at this event are very nice and helpful as well as knowledgeable. Plus I’m supporting the local farmers, I’m will to spend several dollars more to stay alive another day. Most merchants/ farmers who sell at the FM have business cards so you can also visit the farms and purchase there. Parking is in the streets with meter parking unless you find without meters. Not dogs unless it’s a service animal allowed into FM. I wish they had some food trucks there, to order things like breakfast or brunch while shopping. I travel back & forth to Southern California and spend time on the weekends at their Farmers Markets. Just about every FM have several food trucks, of course everything is organic too:) Makes the experience so much better. I also like that the FM in Cali offer samples to try at the majority of the booths. This gives me the chance to try something different and possibly purchase.

King's Homemade Ice Cream, established in Lewes since 1981, offers a variety of delicious ice cream flavors. The atmosphere is charming and reminiscent of an old-fashioned ice cream parlor. Customers have praised the friendly and patient staff, as well as the delightful banana split. Despite a minor issue with portion sizes, visitors are looking forward to returning for more enjoyable experiences. One patron particularly appreciated that the shop was open before the regular beach season and expressed delight in their favorite flavor - coconut.
Omg the best homemade ice cream ever. This place is so quaint and family orientated. The atmosphere was amazing, a great place to go after a long day on the beach. My grandson dropped his ice cream on the floor as soon as he sat down, and they gave him another right away as if he was part of the family lol. There was a line outside but not a long wait. The locals knew the drill, that was keep the door shut untill you could get in and the bugs can stay out lol. The line moved fast . You could sit in and enjoy or walk around the beautiful little local town by the water. Great local hidden gem.

Very disappointed with the service here last night. We’ve never had a problem with Kings and love their ice cream. That’s why on our last night in Lewes we promised everyone some ice cream from Kings. My cousin and I showed up at 8:50 for ice cream and to grab some things for others at the house. Knowing full well that the establishment closes at 9. Now I used to work at an ice cream shop so I understand that before close can be stressful, however there is no reason to be rude and turn down customers. We were waiting on the outside as the inside was full. But as we were waiting the employees told inside customers to turn the sign to closed! Meanwhile it’s 8:55 and the business is very well still open. We tried to walk in when others left, but we were literally yelled at by the employees to leave. Absolutely unacceptable for future paying customers! I even showed the workers my phone that said it was 8:57 and they refused our business. When we got home everyone was disappointed we came back empty handed. So others beware you have to show up 30 minutes before close if you want them to take your order!

Mexican restaurant
Agave Mexican Restaurant is a popular spot known for its tart and strong margaritas made with fresh lime juice. The wood-lined dining room offers a cozy atmosphere to enjoy post-beach drinks and creative guacamoles, including a unique goat cheese and pine nut twist. The menu features crowd-pleasers like enchiladas and quesadillas, as well as less common finds such as mole-sauced tamales.
Agave is a gem along the Route 1 corridor into the Delaware beaches. If you are looking for really great Mexican food and a beautifully decorated setting with Central American ambience, this is the place for you. My wife and I had the blue cheese and steak quesadillas, which were a refreshing take on an old classic, and the pupusas, a dish popularized in El Salvador, which we've had a few times in Central America, and these were as good as anything there. My absolute favorite dish, however, were the steak nachos served on a tray with homemade pickled jalapenos. This was some of the most tender steak I've ever had on a nacho platter. I am willing to go as far as saying that this is the best nacho appetizer I've ever had. I would go back just for the nachos. Great cocktails as well. While the corridor is flooded with food options, do yourself a solid and stop into Agave. You won't regret it.

Heard a lot about this restaurant and was excited to try. Service was friendly, we had probably the best table near the window. Started strong with good margarita and delicious salsa & good quality guacamole. The entrees were total let down. Fish tacos with the price tag 27$ possibly the worst I tried. Fish was overcooked, disgusting fried tortilla and no flavor. Dry rice and beans with zero flavor. Burrito and enchilada were nothing to write home about. Overpriced.

This was a fresh and exciting culinary journey. The dining area was stylish and inviting, and the atmosphere was vibrant and energetic. Oh, and the food was amazing! I had a steak burrito which was generously filled with a symphony of flavors and textures. The richness of the creamy queso expertly complemented the robust flavor of the perfectly grilled juicy steak. Agave is a wonderful, modern Mexican restaurant in the heart of Lewes.

Had a great lunch at Agave ! My husband and I took the ferry to Lewes and heard about this restaurant. It did not disappoint. Had a lot of food and a delicious margarita. Our waitress was very nice as well. We will be back

Amazing! We visit DE once a year from NC for our anniversary and this was the first time to Agave. We will absolutely be back! Kim was a great waitress, friendly, quick and attentive. We started off with the strawberry Fresca and Cobalt margaritas which are well worth the money… enjoyed some of the most delicious empanadas we have had.. split the surf and turf burrito and finished with churros and the khalua cheesecake. Everything was so flavorful! If you haven’t been, you’re certainly missing out.
Leah V — Google review
Been here often over the years and it never disappoints. For starters, the goat cheese, pine nut is my go to guacamole. The Garlic Pepper Shrimp is perfectly balanced by the mango lime salsa. The Birra dilla is a quesadilla for the carnivorous that satisfies.
Dave L — Google review
I have been on the fence about this place for years due to mixed reviews from family and friends but I finally visited and let me say that I was not disappointed. First off the prices are remarkably fair for a touristy area. 6 of us went in, all had drinks, apps, and main course and we left spending less than $60 per person. We all had leftovers to take home. The guac sampler was way too small and kinda bland, the jalapeno cornbread was a good size and delicious. The quesadillas were full of flavor and they didnt hold back on the heat and spice. I got these poblano peppers filled with ground beef, mango, strawberries, and some sort of creme sauce and omg the flavor combo was like a party in my mouth. Everyone at the table tried it and loved it. Pretty spicy too, I was tearing up, in a good way. I will absolutely return here during our annual trips to Lewes. And the service was like that of a 5 star restaurant, their staff really goes the extra mile and seems to genuinely enjoy working there.

Everytime we have been in the Rehoboth Agave, it’s been 10/10 The steak and blue cheese quesadillas, EXCELLENT! The chicken veggie quesadillas, EXCELLENT! Three layer chicken enchilada, EXCELLENT! Margarita (we just get the original) oh my! YUMMM! They offer gluten free, and can make gluten free changes as asked. The staff are accommodating, inside was clean, bathrooms clean, perfect afternoon! 100/100

Lewes Oyster House is a new upscale seafood restaurant located in the iconic Walsh Building. The menu offers a variety of options including clams and linguini, pan-roasted scallops, seafood towers, and steamed clams. Guests can also enjoy new twists on classic bourbon cocktails like the Smokeshow. The restaurant has received accolades for its food and service, making it an ideal spot for special occasions or casual outings.
Definitely New England seafood place as it's best. Atmosphere is as impressive as the menu. If you really love seafood you can't find better! It took me 30 mins to open 12 dungeons crab claws but it was all worth it. Oysters were beyond delicious. Cocktails and wine list also very impressive. Our best food experience in Lewes by far.

An absolutely amazing dining experience every dish was fantastic. We were visiting Lewes in June and couldn't get a reservation. We were able to reserve a table for my birthday celebration tonight. I was surprised with a glass of sparkling rose to start off our birthday celebration. We will definitely be back. Our waitress Candice was amazing!

A wonderful restaurant in the old part of the town Lewes. Located in an older historic building. They have a bar seating area as well as traditional booth and table seating. Lovely dark brown wood paneling. Very extensive beer and wine list with excellent seafood and non-seafood options. The grilled octopus starter was amazing. If oysters are your thing then this is heaven! The grilled salmon is also excellent.

Chelsea was the perfect server! She knew how to balance hospitality and engaging us with giving us space to enjoy. 10/10 service! Celebrating a birthday and they made it special. Food was excellent! Great place to try a little bit of everything and they made it easy to share. Will be back!

Wow!!! We had an absolute blast at the Lewes Oyster house. Service was top notch handled excellent by our handsome server Kyle! The entrees were 10 out of 10 I suggest the halibut, lobster roll or scallops. And of course recommend our server Kyle he was knowledgeable and so attentive. Also want to give a shout out to the Greta bartenders. This restaurant had the best cocktails in the area and sean & Chris were great!

Hands down the best food in Lewes. The ambiance is warm and inviting, and the service is excellent from start to finish. Everything was absolutely delicious and made to order, with fresh flavors in every dish. Highly recommend stopping here—you won’t be disappointed.

This was my Bestie and I 1st time eating at LOH. Wow! What an Awesome experience 👏🏽. The staff from making reservations, to arrival at the front door, and as we were being welcomed and escorted to our table [the staff member stated "someone in this party 🥳 is celebrating a birthday today correct?" We both were tickled replied Yes. The welcoming staff from the door to the table joined in wishing my bestie "Welcome and Thank you for choosing to celebrate your special day here with us at LOH. Happy Birthday" Being honest I thought Wow! The staff here is Awesome, I hope the food matches their welcome. We'll, they proved to me and my Bestie that there is a 5* restaurant [Rehoboth, DE] that not only knows how to attract all nationalities of people to support their business, they also have very skilled chefs preparing great foods that was so delicious 😋 . Even me, who I admit is a tough lady to please when it comes to my meals, [as I do not eat all day,so it has to count] I was very impressed even dessert was excellent. Plan to return soon to try other meals I read on LOH menu 😉 #TheyROCK #MoneyWellSpent

Crooked Hammock Brewery is a brewpub with a coastal vibe and an airy space, offering diverse American fare. The place has ample parking and features a neat little gift shop at the entrance. It offers both indoor dining and bar seating with high tops. The brewery is known for its delicious honey fried chicken sandwich, mojo mango boneless chicken wings, pineapple express wings, and chicken salad. It's family-friendly and pet-friendly at the outdoor tables.
Fantastic experience. Stopped in for an early dinner after a beach day. We had not information to go on, just drove by and Thought this looks good We were pleasantly surprised. Indoor and outdoor seating available. We chose outdoor They have a very large deck They offer yard games including ping pong! Hamocks to relax while waiting for food We chose to share some apps! The coconut shrimp was my favorite! Friendly staff and fast service! Check them out next time you hit the beach!

Great place...lively, friendly staff, has a yard full of fun stuff to entertain kids, food was yummy. This was my second time going here, and it was great both times. I had the shrimp taco salad and my friend had the grilled chicken sandwich...both were delicious. Served nice and hot and timely. There's no shortage on staff, so there's no problem with service or wait times or anything like that.

They have a huge backyard with games and ofcourse bunch of hammocks 😊Especially big dog owners will be very happy to visit this lovely place. Everyone is pet friendly! Food is spectacular! Taste freshness and presentation 10/10. We definitely visit again 🩵🐶

Came here for a group dinner of 30 people with a bunch of kids. The restaurant was well prepared with tables we had reserved and the buffet style food was already out. There was corn hole, ping pong, and other activities to keep the kids entertained. The server was attentive taking our drink orders. Great atmosphere with live music. The beer selection was good as well.
John L — Google review
The atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming, with a laid-back, family-friendly vibe that includes fun amenities like ping pong, fire pits, hammocks, and yard games. The staff were top-notch, especially our server, who was incredibly polite and personable. That said, the food was underwhelming. While the menu has potential, the quality didn’t justify the high prices. It felt more like average bar food at a premium cost.
Serenity B — Google review
We stopped here for a quick bite and to try some local craft beers. The atmosphere is fantastic. The staff is very friendly and the food/beers were delicious. We loved the Staycation Beer the best. While it is listed as a sour beer it wasn't too sour. The Ginormous pretzel was good with the jalapeño cheese sauce and on its own. I also got the chili which had the right amount of spice and came with tortilla chips. It was a pleasure to spend around 45 minutes here for a small bite and a few brews. We will be back.
Eric W — Google review
Upon arrival the parking lot looked like it was packed. Much to our surprise we were seated right away. The menu had so many things I wanted to try but had to pick one. I went with the shrimp and lobster cakes. The plate looked amazing when it came out. The entire meal was fantastic. I have to say after seeing a few orders of their nachos go by I have to return with a few more friends to try them, they looked delicious.
Jay D — Google review
Excellent food! We love eating here! No loud music and that is hard to find in a restaurant especially a brewery. The fish tacos in my opinion are EXCELLENT! The only gripe is the salsa could be a bit more flavorful but all the food and even the water tastes very good. Will definitely come back.

We had a lovely time at this gem of a winery. The setting is so peaceful and quaint. Wes was a wonderful welcoming host, who made the experience well worth the visit. There is a gift shop which attaches to a very interesting( well worth seeing) museum, and tasting rooms.( you can actually see where the wine is being made) and outdoor seating. The wines are good( blueberry is the best) and the prices reasonable. We will be back the next time we are in the area, visiting!

Loved it. We are in our fifties and went here on a Sunday afternoon. Not crowded, we were very warmly greeted. and this is a beautiful venue. The only reason we did not give a five is that the person who was pouring the wine tasting spilled the pour a couple times on the table and didn't seem to be very knowledgeable about some of the wine. But we will be back for sure!

My wife and I went in for a tasting in February. What a delight! The staff were lovely and informative, and the short self guided tour was interesting. The pictures with this review are from some of the displays on the tour. We also picked up a couple of bottles in the shop afterward.

My family had the best experience here! All the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. I was very impressed with the wine selection they had, I love cabernet and have never seen that offered anywhere but on the west coast. All the wine pours I had were good and Val was an excellent host. She made our time there very memorable and fun. I would definitely stop by again if I was in town and wish we had known about the farmers market that is on Sundays (only certain times of year). Very beautiful property with high quality wine. Would 110% recommend to any wine connoisseur!

Well it's a nice park but the people that apparently live there 24/7 have a problem with new dogs coming there to play . I have brought my frenchie there and every time someone had a problem either with my dog or there dog being aggressive towards mine. Long story short is if you want to bring your dog there and sit on a bench and not interact with your dog and dictate to others then this is the place for you.

Wonderful dog park! Clean, good amount of shade, and tons of balls. People there are always really nice, too. My dog gets so excited if we ever mention "park" around him because he knows that's where we're going!

Nicest, most deluxe dog park I've ever been to. It's very pleasant. There are lots of shaded areas with benches. It is very relaxing to visit there. The other dog owners are always friendly. The canine agility course, which was set up as a young man's Eagle Scout project, is something I've never seen at a dog park before and is a big asset.

Nestled in the charming town of Lewes, Delaware, the Lewes Historical Society Main Campus serves as a captivating gateway to the area's rich past. As you stroll through its cobblestone streets, you'll discover that this historical society is housed in one of the oldest buildings in Delaware. With roots tracing back to 1631, every corner of this quaint town tells a story—be it homes built by war heroes or long-standing country stores and doctor's offices from 1850.
Mr. Bill our guide was fantastic! He seamlessly blended historical facts, local lore, and humor. He also made sure to tactfully acknowledge some of the tawdry anecdotes in a way that kept it entertaining and family friendly! Our whole family, to include the 13 and 10 year olds, happily chatted about things we'd learned throughout the remainder of the day. We're so glad we took the time to do this quick walking tour. Hopefully the next time we visit, we'll be here for a First Friday event!
Carlie W — Google review
Our historic walk was lead by a young man who had majored in history education and he did an excellent job telling about the history of Lewes. We also had a wonderful chat with the Sussex Tavern manager and went back later for Grog and Slings while playing a card game on historic cards.

Lewes Historical Society is awesome. We got the $10 combo ticket that lets you visit all of their trio of paid-entry museums rather than paying $5 per person for each. This review is specifically for their Main Campus at Shipcarpenter Street. We walked the grounds and did a self-guided tour using the brochure map picked up from an outdoor self-serve box by the campus entrance. We visited at the end of the day so some things had already been closed up, but we loved how well kept the old 1890s schoolhouse and old tavern were. The campus was very peaceful. We wished we were going to be in town for the tavern's history night! We parked a couple blocks away by the Ryves Holt House (also owned & operated by the society, but has free entry) and walked down to this area. Very pretty walk. Great historic district feel.
Evan D — Google review
It's a good museum to check out if you are in the area. No ticket is required for the museum. They have preserved the place the way it used to be back in the era. It was pretty interesting to check these and understand how things used to be.

Olive and Oats Lewes is a charming cafe owned by Azafran restaurant in Rehoboth. It offers a delightful selection of coffee, pastries, cookies, frittatas, sandwiches, oatmeal, granola, yogurt, soups, and salads. The casual atmosphere makes it an ideal spot for brunch or a quick bite to eat. Guests rave about the delicious sandwiches and frozen lemonade that hit the spot on hot days.
The loveliest low key cafe with truly excellent food. Get the Mediterranean platter and soup of the day! Kids menu is perfection - grilled cheese melted and pressed to gooey goodness, thickly sliced bread with drippy jam PB&J. Compliments do the kitchen for doing the simplest things excellently.

This place was really nice! Cute inside, tasty coffee and great bagels with Nova for cheap! Even open in Easter morning! Also very clean cute bathrooms :) no vegan/gluten free options really unfortunately.

The coffee is delicious. The breakfast sandwiches are so fresh and delicious. Enjoy!

A very lovely brunch spot with amazing sandwiches. The Olive and Oats hit the spot after a day of touring around downtown Lewes. The frozen lemonade was outstanding and hit the spot on a hot day! The sandwiches were delicious and the seating areas on the porch and inside were cozy and relaxing. If you’re looking for a quick bite to eat consider checking this place out! The staff were friendly, food was fresh, and service was fast!

Stumbled upon this place in Lewes recently and it was a nice treat. The breakfast sandwiches were great - would recommend on a Croissant. The Cold brew was just OK but I do have probably a bit high expectations for my cold brown.

Quiet and cute little cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. It very peaceful in comparison to the bustling shops on 2nd street. I got a half caf iced oat milk latte and it was delicious! Service was great. I’m definitely returning.

Bar
Restaurant
Irish Eyes Pub & Restaurant is a lively waterfront tavern that offers a taste of traditional Irish cuisine and local seafood. The indoor and outdoor dining areas provide a fun atmosphere, perfect for enjoying live music. Visitors recommend trying the drunken mussels and cream of crab soup for a delightful experience. The menu features classic Irish dishes, seafood, and sandwiches. While some patrons enjoyed the Reuben egg rolls and excellent service, others found the crab pretzel underwhelming.
Excellent food. Attentive service. Love the view of the Lewes Rehoboth canal. Plenty of free parking. Handicapped accessible with a ramp entrance and handicapped parking available. Lots of good menu choices for everyone including vegetarian or gluten free. Will always come back

Awesome spot. Great happy hour deals in the bar area and they offer happy hour every day. The fish and chips are delicious! Great orange, lemon, and grapefruit crushes and they are large (24oz!). Nice views on the water, they have both indoor and outdoor seating areas. Staff is always friendly and attentive. Plenty of parking as well.

We stopped in here for dinner on our first night in Lewes. For some reason most of the tables around us were unhappy. Some with food and others with the service. However we did not experience any of these negative things that others were talking about. Our server was nice, as well as attentive. The food was good for pub / bar food. The prices were reasonable. There was plenty of seating available. The only negative is the parking situation. We were able to get a spot, but it was seriously like the wild west.

Came for a late lunch on Monday with the wife and a friend. Lots of eating areas to choose from. We sat on the covered porch deck which has nice view of the water and plenty of space. Wasn’t busy, so was easy to converse without shouting. Our server was friendly and our orders were prepared promptly. My wife ordered the tuna arugula salad and was happy with the quality of the dish. I ordered a chicken cheesesteak and fries (see pic) which was tasty, but at $17, just seemed to be lacking from a presentation and quantity standpoint. It was my oversight I guess that the cheese steak came with only the chicken, cheese and a bun. Would have been nice to have had tomato, onion and lettuce included but I guess you need to request that with the order. Oh well, now I know for next time.

It's a bar with an excellent location on the water, food is average at best. Most of the Seafood is good quality, however, final product has room for improvement. My experience the food is poorly prepared, could be better, lots of room for improvement. One of the most popular dishes, Seafood Shepherd's Pie, I found watery more like an unseasoned cream soup with good seafood, nothing special that is for sure. The Shrimp was very good quality, the scallops tasteless (I assumed bleached), a little crab meat helped add some flavor, emphasize little crab as in amount. Vegies are fresh, and mashed potatoes are good. The Alfredo sauce (if you can call it that) is what kills this dish, it needs help, like I said, it more like tasteless/unseasoned warm cream. Fish taco, the fish was good (seemed fresh and cooked to perfection), everything else on the plate was like 7-eleven quality, in other words not good.

Irish Eyes has a nice atmosphere and serves good food. One may choose to dine inside or out near the canal. I enjoyed a turkey BLT with tater tots. These were no ordinary tots. They were the best I have ever had, crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle just the way they should be. My husband enjoyed a Reuben on marble rye with coleslaw. He said the meat corn beef and coleslaw was very good. Service was good too.

The Food was great i have no complaints, our waitress is ben though she was busy still made sure to check in about every 10 minutes, and the atmosphere was amazing it is very hard to get good water view and this restaurant did it perfectly.

Had a bit of an issue finding parking. Food, service, and atmosphere were great. Had some nice e Football specials on a Sunday evening. Had the crab dip, absolutely one of the best. Mrs. Ole Learys was a delightful club type sandwich, delicious 😋.

Pizza restaurant
Pats Pizzeria-Lewes is a popular spot known for its delicious menu and friendly staff. Customers have praised the exceptional service, with heartwarming stories of staff going above and beyond to assist elderly patrons. The food consistently receives high praise, from the mouthwatering pizzas to the scrumptious Chicken Parm and Lasagna. The restaurant also offers prompt delivery services and a loyalty rewards program.
Excellent food and service. We had a large group and a big order and the staff was so patient with us.. The food came out piping hot. Love the Greek salad; so much feta and the ingredients are so fresh. The cheese steaks are huge and the pizza is amazing. We always go to Pats when we're in Lewes!

Very disappointed after spending $46.00 for 2 sandwiches, order of French Fries and soda. The plate (portion) of fries was ridiculous. I did not complain because the employee who delivered our food to our table was extremely nice and most likely wasn’t his fault. My wife and I were the only customers present inside restaurant. Not sure how much the fries cost, but looked like kid’s menu order!! Our next visit will hopefully be better or it will be our last!!

Love the food at Pats but i am a little concerned that alex only responds to positive comments and not the negative ones. If tour customers are not happy you should at least comment on the issue. You may just turn a negative experience onto a positive one

What a cute little spot! We stopped in while out antiquing and it turned out to be such a nice find. The pizza was really good fresh, tasty, and served up quickly. Prices were very reasonable, and the people working there were warm and friendly, which made the experience even better. A quick, delicious stop that felt like a real treat. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!

Best place for pizza (gluten free pizza too!), subs (hoagies), and lasagna! And the Greek salad is always a hit as well.

Place is diiirtttyyyy. No thanks! Owner is afraid of taking responsibility and tries to use tactics to push away bad reviews. If you have a bad experience call them so its documented like we did, if owner denies thats on them. Once you make the report its valid. We also have consumer protections right to review laws. So we will be suing for that as well for harrasment. We have had no contact with this business at all since the incident. I'll be taking this to my lawyer now since the food made my friend sick and we have photographed proof and a report to the owner to which he bullied us and called us liars. Then made a police report saying we couldnt eat there anymore.lol. We even told police we found a bug in our food. Youre done. We will be suing for damages and harassment and bullying now and unsafe food. Have hospital reports and recorded calls of bullying.

Best pizza around!! Their cheesesteak pizza is amazing, loaded with steak & cheese! Their stromboli & subs are really good, too. Nearby places like Grotto's & Nicola's are far inferior, in my opinion. Mr. P's is good, but they can't handle their customer load. We'll choose this Pat's location every time!

Best gluten free pizza in town and just about anywhere. Thin and crispy without feeling like you're eating a cracker.
