The L'Auberge Casino Resort Lake Charles is a luxurious hotel that boasts of various amenities such as an outdoor pool, spa, dining options, golf course and shopping. The suites are highly recommended for their exquisite features like the ceiling shower. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere creates a log cabin feel upon entering. Guests can opt to eat at local restaurants but should definitely check out the spa and pool area during their stay.
It was my first time experiencing a stay at a casino and it was so nice. Didn’t think I would be in to slots and whatnot but it’s pretty neat. Everything was clean in the hotel. The view was beautiful and it even had a mini beach with a nice deck and gazebo. We went there at night to enjoy the breeze and quiet. Also the PJs coffee cafe was delicious! The meatball sandwich made me feel like I was at a nice Italian restaurant! Got $10 off at PJ’s for signing up for the PENN Play! Wish I had a chance to enjoy the pool and lazy river. Definitely will be back to enjoy it. Love it here

The room was nice enough. Bed was comfortable. A/C wasn't very cool (I don't think the thermostat was correct). The coffee in the room sucked-tasted very stale and there was only powdered creamer that tasted like poop. In a state that has Community coffee, I expected better. We got there on Friday. Went to Dragos and was NOT told about the seafood buffet until after we had ordered. I was pissed since I called before hand and made sure Lauberge had a seafood buffet. Food was not worth the price we paid. Then, the waitress gave us the same bill, the higher of our 2 meals. When I brought it to her attention, she actually argued with me. Went down the next morning for their breakfast and was sorely disappointed (coffee was $3/cup) and the only decent food item was bread pudding.... The only place to get a cup of decent coffee was Modern Pantry. I've never stayed at an establishment where you couldn't get a decent cuppa Joe. Will go to Golden Nugget or somewhere else next time.

Never have a bad experience here other than just losing money. 🤪 Beds are comfy, rooms are clean, pool is amazing, and staff is so friendly! Only downside for us was we wanted to book massages and spa stuff for our anniversary but it was already booked up by the time we went to book the day before 😭 I see a lot of complaints in other people’s reviews about not getting non smoking rooms - my suggestion to the owners of this hotel/casino is to just get rid of the smoking rooms like golden nugget did to offer guests a better experience. I think most of us can agree smoking is no longer as popular as it once was. Keep it in the casino but not the rooms. Also I see people complaining about the signature scent but I love it so please don’t get rid of it!

I stopped in to the L’Auberge Casino while passing through Lake Charles recently. The facility was very clean and well attended. The staff were very congenial and chatty in a nice welcoming way. I only experienced the casino floor in any detail, but the property in general is really nice, including outdoor areas next to the water. They have free soft drinks and coffee while gambling, as well as a wide assortment of table games and slot machines. They still call them slots, but they are really like elaborate video games with a bunch of bells and whistles and its difficult to know what exactly is happening, but every so often you do win some credits, kind of surreal actually. They also have robotic craps and roulette, which combines table games with a video poler style terminal ad. A place to set your free coffee and cigarettes! Yes, they do still let folks smoke their menthols on the casino floor! I recommend giving this site a try if you are passing Lake Charles - great spot for a travel break. Remember to gamble responsibly and never wager more than you can afford!

We’ve been to L’auberge for years. We’ve always enjoyed it but not this time. We asked for a room closest to the elevator by the casino. It was on the 8th floor- pretty far down from the elevator. The mattress was not comfortable at all. There was a nice gentleman that brought our white robes to use. A chair was broken, my husband called and they never came to fix it. The refrigerator didn’t get the bottled water cold. The alarm on the clock came on and woke us around 6:00 am. I guess if you pay more on the weekends you get the better rooms. When Pinnacle owned it, it was better.

I booked L' Abuerge Casino Resort because of all the glowing reviews, but from the moment we arrived, its been nothing but disappointment. Before checking in, I went online to confirm restaurant hours, which clearly showed they’d be open later—but when we got here, everything was already closed one to two hours earlier than advertised. At check-in, things got even worse. I prepaid for my room through Trivago and had receipts to prove it, yet the front desk still tried to charge me an additional $220, instead of just the $50 incidental hold and $24 resort fee. They kept insisting I hadn’t paid, even though I literally showed them proof. On top of that, I paid for a king-size bed, and they repeatedly told me there weren’t any available until I pushed back and demanded what I booked—after over 12 hours of driving, no less. The staff were generally standoffish and unhelpful, our casino credits didn’t even work, and all of their restaurants and bars close ridiculously early. I’m sorry, but if I’m staying at a casino, I expect to be able to eat or order a nice cocktail at 10 p.m.—not be told everything shuts down at 9. Even their pool hours aren’t accurate; the website says it opens at 8 a.m., but when we called this morning, they said it doesn’t open until 10. After this experience, I truly regret not staying at the Golden Nugget next door. Their restaurants, bars, and amenities are open until at least midnight—the way a real resort should be. Everything advertised on La Berge’s website felt misleading, and it’s frustrating that no one seemed interested in making things right for guests. The only redeeming part of our entire experience was a wonderful gentleman named Willie, who checks IDs in the casino. He was incredibly friendly and shared an awesome chat with us about nu-wave and post-punk music. He was the one bright spot in what was otherwise an absolute disaster of a stay. Save yourself the headache and stay at the Golden Nugget. You’ll actually get what you pay for.
Mari S — Google review
Only negative things I have to say is that the check in took forever, but there were alot of people trying to check in at the same time and only two people working the check-in counter. Some areas of the room you could tell haven't been dusted or wiped down like the phone and areas of the night stand. Other than that, the rooms were spacious and nice. Bathrooms and shower were nice as well. Nice golf course out front. Plenty of places to eat without leaving the hotel. Would definitely visit again.
Lantz H — Google review
Room was pretty nice but the beds were horrible! Too soft and no support! The room had no information card, no hotel information. The registration staff was very tepid even when we mentioned that we had been coming here since the week first opened and that it we were here to celabrate our 50th annivesary. However the food at BetEspn and Johnny Sanches was great. Sadly this just isn't the place it used to be

Marshalls is a retail chain that offers a wide range of well-known apparel, accessories, footwear, and household items. A customer visited their Pearland location to exchange a hair dryer due to a missing piece. However, they were disappointed as the store didn't have the same or similar product available for exchange. Instead, they mainly carried Revlon products which can be easily found at Walmart.
This was my first time shopping at Marshall's. Just never went in there. My fiance received a gift card from there for Christmas so we decided to go check it out. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. The store was really nice clean and organized to my surprise. There a is a huge variety of items from shoes to clothing to purses choose from. There is a lot of name brand items such as Michael Kors, Nike, Polo, Adidas , Pumas and the list can go on and on. I was a little shocked to see Michael Kors Purses for sale. They're was even a houseware section which was absolutely beautiful which offered a large variety of items to choose from. They're was Lots of patio sets for the summer, pillows dishes and The list goes on and on. The staff was very friendly and Courteous and always willing to help, assist and make suggestions. There's a hair care section which offered lots of name brand products to choose from for all people. The store was pretty packed with lots and lots of eager shoppers all looking for a bargain. This was a excellent shopping experience for me and I will definitely be back to rack up on some great bargains.

I am not one to post reviews, good or bad, but that situation that occurred last night (11/27) warrants one. Marshall’s is my favorite go-to for anything and everything, and the staff members are always so pleasant! 5 stars always! I’m leaving a 1 Star review strictly for the (blonde hair) female manager who was on duty last night (11/27). As i was checking out, all of us in line began listening to her as she LOUDLY and disrespectfully reprimanded the young lady who was checking me out for a dress code violation. The young lady began to cry. I want to preface this by saying how nice the worker was and she had the best attitude- it was heartbreaking to see how her mood quickly changed after the manager yelled at her. To the manager last night, You should be ashamed of yourself. You could have easily had a conversation about her dress code (holes in jeans) privately and more respectively. Managers like you are the reason companies will lose great employees. Do better!
Hilary P — Google review
The fact that they are open until 9:30 PM but close the dressing rooms at 7 PM is absolutely ridiculous! The majority of their store what? CLOTHES! I should be able to try them on. I could understand if they closed the dressing rooms at 9 or 9:15 to clean them up for them night, but there's no reason to have them closed 2 hours before closing. They've lost sales from me several times now because of it.

This is definitely 💯 1 of my favorite place to shop. As you can see they offer quality clothing at an affordable price. I don't care to search so I always go when I'm having a good day. The customer service has been great and I haven't had any problems with the store in Lake Charles LA..strongly recommend shopping there.

If you're on the hunt for stylish brand-name clothing, shoes, accessories, and housewares without breaking the bank, look no further than Ross Dress for Less. This retail gem is nestled in Prien Lake Plaza alongside other popular stores like Marshalls and Rack Room Shoes. Shoppers rave about its fantastic selection at unbeatable prices—perfect for those who love a good bargain! While it seems to cater more towards women’s fashion, men can also find great items if they take their time exploring.
I love Ross. Mainly for household stuff because they have different things than the local stores. This store has seemed to have some AC issue the last several months though. Not sure if it’s resolved now.

Girlfriend usually shops here. It's a fantastic storefront. Lots of clothes for a pretty low price. Returns were easy and customer support was on par. I would hands down say that the store is designed more so for women than for men, but both parties can usually find someone to purchase, if they look hard enough. That about sums up the nature of this store. It's almost like a fancy goodwill, honestly. I'm not sure if products are used or not, in doubt they're used items. I bought olive oil.

O'Charley's Restaurant & Bar is a casual eatery that offers classic American dishes and take-out options. They have a diverse menu of comfort staples and a full bar. When passing through Lake Charles, many people make it a point to stop at this relaxed chain restaurant. The waitstaff, like Chloey G, are known for their inviting and friendly demeanor.
Just visiting from Texas and very glad we stopped. Had this unique delishious deviled eggs appetizer with spicy pickles and chow-chow drizzled with some Louisiana hot sauce! I ordered the fried catfish plate and was able to exchange the fries and coleslaw for a salad and bacon mashed potatoes! It was all great..... And then we had dessert! They had a good selection of pies to choose from. And last but not least, our waitress was very sweet, polite and attentive. I'll stop again if ever this way.
Jason P — Google review
It was an enjoyable eating experience. It took about 10 minutes to be seated, and about another 10 minutes to get our drinks and bread. We ordered the salmon and brocolli and it was very delicious. My kiddo got the cheese pizza and she was very happy with it, it had a great sauce! The environment was pretty clean. I didn't go to the bathroom so I can't speak on that. I'd say prices were pretty fair. I did like that if you join their club you can get a free appetizer (we didn't redeem it cause diets 🙄). I do however wish they had more healthy options, seem like no one really offers that aside from salads and fish. I would go here again and I would recommend it to anyone who likes what's on their menu (I attached photos)

Poor overall dining experience. We arrived at 10:45 and I went straight to bathroom. Only to find after it was to late…NO TOILET PAPER.. Digging in my purse, I was saved. The first employee I saw coming out I let her know and her rude response were, “WE KNOW”. Wow really, the restaurant has been open since 10 AM. We were with another couple and it took 45 minutes to prepare 2 salads, an under cooked hamburger and a breakfast platter. They had 75 % occupancy and must have had issues in the kitchen. 45 minutes is unsatisfactory. Tables were not stock with condiments. After asking Tessa, our server, I finally just got up and got it from an empty table. Tessa, happened to be the employee who responded, “WE KNOW”. That truly set the tone of our dining experience. Either it was an off day for her or she needs to find another job. Not a people person. I did speak to management and also talked to the Regional Director. I personally will not visit this location until I hear back from the Regional Director. Dining experience is not only about the food. This location could stand for an etiquette lesson.
Donna C — Google review
Went in for lunch and sat at the bar. The bartender was very friendly and attentive. We ordered a cheeseburger and the country tenders. One star off because husband said cheeseburger was dry and so was my side of macaroni and cheese. Chicken tenders and mash potatoes were good. 2 beers on tap and 2 of the $4 margaritas which were pretty good for the price. Would go back next time we stop at that supercharger over there.

We always try to stop at O’Charley’s when passing through Lake Charles. This time our waitress Chloey G made the experience even nicer. Her demeanor was so inviting and friendly. I had the bbq pork chop and ribs, with smashed potatoes and grilled corn. The bbq was a dry rub with the perfect amount of spice. The seasonal grilled corn with garlic butter was too die for! So delicious. The smashed potatoes were not served with gravy, but Chloey hooked me up with some. My husband had the balsamic chicken breast and my granddaughter had the grilled cheese with broccoli. The fresh buns, as always, we’re served warm and fresh.

Made a to-go order since I'm at the hotel across the street tonight. Got the sirloin and salmon with loaded mashed potatoes and broccoli. Steak was perfect medium rare as ordered. Potatoes were definitely fully loaded! Lady at the pick up counter was really nice!

Paid almost 40 dollars for a bone in ribeye. I wanted med rare. When delivered, it was WELL done. I drove 20 minutes over to the restaurant because their phone wasn't working at the time. They remake it. Stupid me did not check it before I left only to get back to hotel and it be well done too! In total I paid 75 dollars for some food that was disgusting!!!!!!!!

It's a very beautiful place with lots of paths to walk or jog. I went there to fish and found a nice area and caught a speckled trout from the shore using a large soft jig. Later I caught a croaker and then a flounder. I did this on 10/16/2025. My first time fishing out here.

This park is great for whatever you decide you want to do . if you got a boat or a kayak and you want to do that no problem they have a launch. If you want to take your kids to a splash pad or the playground, no problem. If you are looking to either get a walk or run completed , the surrounding area is .73 miles so you’ll have to go around four times if you’re trying to do a 5k, this park really seems to have it all. The park hours are from 5 AM to 11 PM and you can see the Golden Nugget Casino in the distance.

Sandwich shop
Restaurant
Darrell's is a bustling bar and grill that is a favorite among sports fans, known for its hefty po' boys and sandwiches. The signature dish to try here is the Darrell's special, which includes ham, turkey, roast beef, and gravy served on freshly baked bread with extra gravy on the side. Additionally, visitors can enjoy delicious plate-lunches at B&O Grocery or indulge in boiled crawfish at Seafood Palace or Steamboat Bills on the Lake.
Alright. Here’s one to keep on your map and radar! Darrell’s is awesome. The special was outstanding and will leave a memory!! If you haven’t been here you need to go! I’m betting the locals frequent this place. Give it a try!! Sorry. I wish I would’ve got an image of the sandwich for you. Btw, the service was as exceptional as the food! I will return when I’m back in town.
Damac T — Google review
We came here thinking this place was known for its food. The poboys are very good but this is a sports bar. If you don’t mind college guys yelling at the bar homophobic comments while you’re eating then this place is fine. I recommend the spicy sausage poboy. I wish they would offer homemade sides instead of bagged chips. At least offer made in Louisiana chips like Zapps.
Miguel Z — Google review
It’s a sports bar yes…but we went during quiet time I guess. Got in, ate, and left. The poboys were absolutely delish as always and the bread is chefs kiss!!
Dondria B — Google review
Been coming to Darrell’s for over 20 years. Shrimp PoBoy now has less shrimp (use to be loaded with shrimp that would fall out) with excessive mayo. Roll was good, but that’s about it. Very disappointing. Not worth making the extra effort (I drove from out of town) for this once exceptional sandwich (why pay more for less). Was ordering PoBoy to go and told to order it at the bar. The person who took the order was RUDE, pushy and she had an attitude. That equated to a big fat ZERO of a tip. Don’t waste your time ordering a Shrimp PoBoy from Darrell’s…they’ve lost the recipe.
Bubba C — Google review
Always listen to the locals. This place was their reccomendation for best Poboys in Lake Charles. Got the special - it was great.

The food can definitely be hit or miss. My office orders take out almost every Friday and you never know what you’re going to get. Last Friday the food was AMAZING. It’s the best when the bread is super buttery and crispy. We ordered lunch today and it was good, but definitely not as good as last week. I feel like just the fact that we eat lunch here almost weekly should say enough though 😅 if you’re debating on trying it, just do it!
Stephanie K — Google review
I heard this place was really good. Pulled up was told if I want a to go order I had to go to the bar, stood there 10 minutes and even asked for a menu 5 times and nothing. The person that told me to go to the bar even came over and still nothing. I went to the other side of the bar to see if maybe I could attract someone’s attention still nothing at the 16th minute I just left. Service is terrible and to be completely ignored is crazy not to mention everyone was White and here I am a black lady trying to by food!!!! Seriously I will be contacting a lawyer and the BBB because I have it all on video time stamped and before you ask yes I made eye contact with 4 different workers and on the video you hear me saying excuse me 5 times and asking for a menu 3 times!! Just sad that we treat people this way!!!!

6 months later (1 year later now. And we are still talking about this place..) Im still talking about how awful the Shrimp-Po-Boy was here. Boiled Shrimp on a bun. No French fries, just bad PoBoys and chips....how is this place famous?! How xan anyone in Louisiana say this places makes a good PoBoy...let's pretend they are good....they serve bagged chips? Is this a food truck? No, it's a restaurant...where are the fries, fried potatoes, fried pickles, onion rings....this place is total crap !

Coffee:30 Cafe is a beloved gem with fantastic customer service and polite servers. The menu offers a delicious selection of foods and coffee, making it a must-visit spot. The hospitality and knowledge of the menu are top-notch, ensuring a great experience for visitors. The Coffee:30 Beignets with strawberry drizzle, Cowboy Breakfast Bowl, and Alarm Clock Platter are highly recommended. While some find it pricey, the food and coffee are described as simply amazing.
We were staying at the Golden Nugget and wanted a better breakfast and coffee experience than chain coffee. Found Coffee 30 Cafe on Google and made the short drive. We were so pleased with the service, quality, and selection! The coffee was delicious and the classic eggs, Benedict and vegetable bowls or huge portions. Rene stopped by our table with her staff several times and was extremely pleasant and willing to do anything for us. If we ever come back to Lake Charles, this will definitely be our go to coffee and cafe!

Outstanding breakfast/lunch environment. I was passing through town and decided to try this place. The hostess and all of the servers were very attentive, the food was fantastic, and the music and atmosphere was very calm. Great place to go by yourself or with friends! I had the creamy crawfish omelette and some of their beignets, and I will definitely get them again. Victoria was my server today and she balanced being attentive without being overbearing extremely well. Thanks to Coffee:30 for a great visit!

Finally visited for the first time and everything was amazing! Emma was very sweet and helpful with us choosing what to try. Beignets with crawfish sauce and crab cake Benedict was so good. But the chicken and waffles was absolutely my favorite!❤️

Went on a Tuesday morning and took advantage of their tuesday beignet special. Also got avocado toast and a flat white. Everything was excellent and cooked to order. The only two things I wasn't thrilled with was 1) we came at a time when it wasn't very busy and there was plenty of seats available. They put us in a corner near the bar behind a wall. We asked to be moved. And 2) we had to wait a good 10 minutes to get our check after we were done eating. It was only after we got up to go to the cashier that they came to give us our check and take payment. We will be back!

Fast food restaurant
Sonic Drive-In is a classic fast-food spot with a nostalgic drive-in setup. Customers appreciate the consistently good food and friendly service, even when visiting close to closing time. The burgers are fresh, fries perfectly cooked, and using the Sonic app allows for easy ordering and discounts on drinks. The Sweet Tea with Lemon is highly recommended, and despite being busy, the wait times are reasonable.
Worst sonic I've ever been to. They took over 30 minutes to bring me out 1 burger with tots and an order or mozzarella sticks. They forgot to include marinara sauce for the mozzarella sticks, and the carhop took another 15 minutes to bring it out to me. When I get to my hotel and unwrap my burger, the bacon and the burger patties are all burnt but its cold. Like they gave me a burger thats been sitting there for a while. They didn't give me the correct flavor of my drink and gave me the wrong size order of mozzarella sticks which don't even seem cooked all the way. The cheese is still hard on the inside.

Was craving iced tea so stopped here. Got a good deal in the app for 1/2 off drinks. Ordered a large sweet tea. Pull up to mobile pickup spot And the app won't let me submit the number for the spot. I keep getting an error. This has happened every time I have tried to pick up a mobile order at any sonic. I end up pulling into a spot and push the button and explain what happened. They say they'll bring my drink out. They bring it out a couple minutes later and I tip the server. I drive all the way back to my hotel, and pull out the food I got from another restaurant, and start eating. I take a drink of my drink and IT'S NOT ICED TEA! It's some diet soda! I don't drink diet anything! So gross! 👎👎

I love Sonic. Mostly for the drinks but food is good too. I give honest opinions in my reviews about the establishment I am reviewing. This Sonic has the longest wait time I have ever experienced. The first time I visited this Sonic, it took 20 minutes wait time in the parking slot to receive 2 drinks. It was not busy maybe 5 cars in the place. Giving the benefit of the doubt I tried them again just the other day. I ordered three medium drinks this time. No more than 6 cars, two carhops serving and it still took more than 21 minutes to receive 3 drinks. The female employee who took our order over the speaker really needs some training in customer service. No greeting just "Whats your order?" This Sonic really needs some customer service training and SPEED. I do not recommend this establishment if you are not a patient customer.

We stopped here for a quick bite on our way home from the L’Auberge. My fiancé ordered a Double Quarter Pounder and received what looked to be a simple double cheeseburger with NO FIXINGS. *see photo We both ordered SWEET TEA. We received tea. Just tea. This is the South. I realize once you get below somewhere around Natchitoches or Alexandria (I really don’t know where the magic invisible line is) things change a little, but SWEET TEA IS SWEET. UNSWEETENED TEA IS NOT. It’s really that simple. So long story short, would I recommend? No. Go to Arby’s and pay a ridiculous $3.50 for a lemonade which would be more worth the money than what we just begrudgingly partook of.
Susan R — Google review
If I could give negative stars I would. We ordered a simple burger, popcorn chicken and onion rings, we waited 40 minutes for our order and it came to us inedible and without the condiments requested, the condiments weren't a big deal in the end since our dinner went in the garbage. The burger looked like it was sitting on the grill the entire 40 mins we were waiting while the chicken and onion rings must have been waiting in the bag because they were ice cold.

They need to put on the menu that the dipping sauce does not come with the product that you’re ordering and that you have to pay extra for it

Took more than 30 minutes to get a combo meal and the attendant had the nerve to be rude. Thank God I don't live here in Lake Charles, although, if I did, I would take my business elsewhere.

My chicken tender dinner. As a nurse who works 12 hours I look forward to my 30 minute lunch break which I used to rush to sonic to get some tenders. This is what I got and it had old hard fries, hard old chicken tenders, no onion rings, and stale bread. Thanks sonic for my trashed food and wasted break.

Steak house
Ember Grille & Wine Bar is an upscale steakhouse located within the grand LAuberge Casino Resort in Lake Charles. The elegant and romantic atmosphere, complete with occasional live piano music, makes it perfect for special occasions. The spacious venue features stone fireplaces, dimmed lighting, and white linen tablecloths. With over 240 different wines to choose from, it offers fine dining at its best.
My wife and I came here for our anniversary and expected to spend a nice chunk of change so nothing caught us by surprise. Drink was sweet tea and it was great Food: Appetizer: bacon wrapped shrimp First course: Lobster bisque Main: I got the 14oz boneless wagyu ribeye ( it was amazing and worth every penny of the 115$ the flavor was rich and deep) My wife got the 20oz bone in ribeye ( it was light tasting and delicious) Sides: crawfish mac and cheese and fully loaded mashed potatoes. The portions on the sides are gigantic which is really nice. Something sweet: we got the chocolate lava cake ( amazing and stuffed with chocolate) Our waiter was Eli Darbonne and he’s was super friendly, knowledgeable, and over all a fantastic waiter. Our bill was 318$ and worth every penny for an amazing anniversary dinner!

Everything was amazing. Just so you know, the dishes are super big. I was sharing with my husband and we couldn’t finish them, not even room for dessert. Also you need reservations but you can always enjoy the food at the bar lime we did.

We came to spend 4th of July weekend in the hotel and decided to give it a try; we had a great dining experience. The vibe is cozy and intimate and the atmosphere is relaxing. From the bread basket to the dessert, everything was exquisite. Our group of 5 have a great time and would definitely visit again when around Lake Charles.

Had a group of 16 guys last night. Service and timing were excellent. Unfortunately the cooking staff had a terrible night. A few guys in our party who had eaten here before were excited to share their past experiences. The food was very bland, and the steaks were unfinishable. Pork belly burnt ends were 90% fat, very gross. Lambchops tasted like hospital food. This was definitely not worth the money we spent. Unlikely to go back and definitely not recommending.

I’ve been a loyal patron of this restaurant, having dined here at least five times over the past 3 months. My first visit left me thoroughly impressed with both the exceptional service and food quality, which is why I continued to return. Unfortunately, my most recent experience was deeply disappointing and has made me reconsider future visits. I ordered the King Crab legs and a beef filet—two dishes that should showcase a restaurant of this caliber. Both fell short of expectations. The crab legs were oversalted, served in a surprisingly small portion, and lacked the careful preparation I’d come to expect. The beef filet, while cooked to the correct temperature, was inexplicably dry and tough. I ended up leaving half the steak uneaten. The problems didn’t end there. I requested my side of potatoes au gratin to be packed to go, but the container wasn’t properly sealed. By the time I arrived home, the cheese and butter had completely leaked out, rendering the dish inedible and requiring me to throw it away. For a $200 dinner, this experience was unacceptable. What was once a reliable favorite has clearly experienced a decline in quality and attention to detail. Unless significant improvements are made, I won’t be returning.

I brought my wife to embers for our anniversary and it went far beyond my expectations. They are not a cheap restaurant but you can go in knowing this by their websites menu I was able to get an idea what I would be spending. I bought a New York Strip 14oz prime Steak and it is the best steak I have ever eaten and I did not get a topping for my steak just steak and I was so impressed. I also got a side of Au Gratin potatoes. I got also a bottle of red wine. They were both amazing. For two first courses, two main courses, two sides for main course, a bottle of red wine and even dessert. We spent $330. You truly could go cheaper with this place because we weren’t able to finish but less than half of our main course side and we took home our dessert because we were so dang full we could barely walk. You could do without the main course side or without the first course which were only $15 each. But they are worth the price even my salad was amazing extremely fresh. The atmosphere of this restaurant is great not even close to over crowded you call to reserve if you have to wait a couple minutes the have very nice couches with a fire place to to relax in. We waited less than 5 minutes and we arrived 25 minutes early to our reservation. Amazing restaurant. If you want to wow the wife or husband this is the place to go.

Embers is a visually appealing restaurant with very good service and a beautiful atmosphere. The food was certainly tasty, but honestly, it didn't blow me away for the price point. It’s an expensive night out, and while everything was fine, I expected a bit more wow factor to match the cost.

Probably one of the best places to eat in lake Charles. A good place for a couples "date night" or an exceptional dinner with a group of friends. One of the higher priced restaurants in the area but well worth it. May be higher priced but it won't break the bank. Everything on the menu is worth ordering.

Was told by locals to try out the place. Friendly front staff, relaxing atmosphere, not too loud, and intimate setting. Started off with a garlic based dip and toasted pita wedges. Decided to try the beef dolmas, beef humus with cut roasted almonds, and a Greek salad instead of ordering a n entree. Glad I did as I thoroughly enjoyed trying the various flavors!! Will have to come back again in the future to try other dishes!!

Always enjoy our moments there. We always go to Mazen’s to celebrate life events with family cause we always know we are going to have a good time. Service can be slow at peak times but worth it. Fair prices and you don’t have to pay the casino premium at the local casino restaurants.

My husband planned a nice date night that we thought we’d really enjoy based on past experiences with Mazen’s, but we should have read the signs. Upon arrival, we realized my husband mistakenly booked the reservation for the wrong date. The host was incredibly gracious and managed to seat us promptly despite the busy atmosphere. Our waiter greeted us warmly, and our appetizers (the hummus and lamb lollipops were fantastic) arrived quickly which set a promising tone for the meal. However, after ordering our entrees the service rapidly declined. Our server became a rare sight. We both ordered the ribeye steaks, and while we know these aren’t quick ticket items the wait time was a little longer than we expected. The meal took about an hour to arrive and our food was delivered to the table by another staff member. Judging by how badly she burned her hands on the plates compared to how dried out our potatoes were and how lukewarm our steaks were, we believe they had been sitting under a heat lamp for a good minute. Our waiter didn't check in during the meal, and our water glasses weren’t refilled until we were nearly finished. Additionally, the table was quite unsteady which made cutting the steaks a bit challenging. The food and service quality didn't align with the prices and desired ambience of the restaurant, which was very disappointing. We arrived at 6:45 PM and received our check around 8:55 PM, making the evening longer than we anticipated for a typical date night. While the initial hospitality was appreciated, the overall experience fell short of our expectations. We may consider giving Mazen's another chance in the future, but for now we'll explore other dining options.

Visiting my parents and met some family for dinner. I got one of the specials presented by our server, steak topped with lump crab meat and fish dish of my choice which for me was the Aladdin. Before we left the pianist arrived and played some great light music. Thanks for supporting local musicians!! It was a true fine dining experience. See you again next visit! ❤️ (The only downside was that my family kept making me try all of their dishes and I stuffed myself. 😆)

Restaurant
Steamboat Bill's on the Lake in Lake Charles is a lively seafood restaurant with a casual nautical theme. It's known for serving up fresh and flavorful Cajun seafood, especially during crawfish season when they offer plump and well-seasoned crawfish. The menu features Louisiana favorites like red beans and rice, gumbo, and pistolettes stuffed with shrimp or crawfish etouffee.
We came to Lake Charles after a day on the beach. We were starving. Of course, we wanted seafood. I am so glad we stopped in Steamboat Bill's. My youngest had the kids' plate of fried shrimp. He really enjoyed it. We all shared the appetizer of fried gator bites. They were loved by everyone at the table. My husband and I shared the small platter. It was so good. Our only complaint is that everything was fried. Maybe some grilled shrimp would have been nice in the mix. The service was great. The restaurant was clean. It was an all-around great experience. I give it two thumbs up and it is a great stop.

We were trying to find a place to have lunch, not far off of I-10. This was definitely a winner. It's not far out of the way at all. The boudin balls were the best I've ever had so far. I got the soft crab po boy, which I liked a lot. My husband got the popcorn shrimp po boy. They were both very good! I do wish that I tried their gumbo, but maybe on the way back through!

Went on a Sunday lunchtime, so they were busy. Can't fault them for that. Service was great, a little slow on the boudan balls, but over all, the experience was great. Food was absolutely delicious. Red beans and rice was perfect.

The food was good! Maybe it's a Louisiana thin, but what is an admin adjustment for? Also, you pay before you eat, which means if you dont carry cas, you have to tip before you get service as well. I tipped 20% even though the only service we got was when they brought our food to us.

Subject: Concern about food safety – foreign object in potato Below you will find the food safety concern that I attempted to address with the restaurant by sending an email to the local restaurant and to corporate. No response in more than a month so I decided to do a Google review in hopes that this will reevaluate the processes in their kitchen On, 9/13/2024, I was in Steamboat Bill's in Lake Charles an ordered a stuffed potato from your restaurant. On 9/14/2025, I became very concerned to find a penny inside of my potato after heating it at home. This is a serious food safety issue. Pennies are made mostly of zinc with a copper coating. They’re not food-safe and could leach metals when exposed to heat, especially if damaged or corroded. Since the penny was in direct contact with the potato, the potato was not safe for me to eat. Not only is this unsanitary, but microwaving metal could have damaged my microwave and posed a fire risk. I bring this to your attention so that steps can be taken with your kitchen staff and supplier to prevent this from happening again. I would also like to know what your restaurant intends to do to address this situation. Thank you,
Artish F — Google review
As full time travelers we stumbled on Steamboat Bild a few years ago . Now whenever we pass this way we have to stop in for some Gumbo, Etoufee, or boiled shrimp. The food never disappoints. Service was lacking this trip but just your typical gossiping cashier, and inattentive table staff. All in all a great place for a solid Cajun food.

The food is amazing! The crawfish po-boy was off the chain! The boiled shrimp is hood and now they have dungeons crabs that are really good as well!!! You pay before you sit which you dont have to be waited on.

Always a great experience at Steamboat! I had the captains platter. 2 people can literally eat off that one plate. Oh, and don’t forget your watermelon margarita. They are the bomb. Might I add the pistolettes. (I think that’s how you spell them) you can never go wrong with those. Make sure you try a shrimp and try the crawfish one as well.

LUNA Bar & Grill Downtown is a laid-back eatery in the vibrant heart of Lake Charles, seamlessly blending California influences with Louisiana's culinary heritage. The restaurant, owned by chef and musician Dave Evans, reflects his passions for music and astronomy. The eclectic decor features neon guitars and jazz posters, while the menu showcases celestial-themed dishes like galaxy-named sandwiches and astronomical appetizers. Guests praise the impeccable service and frequent live music events at this culinary gem.
I'm not sure why it took me so long to visit this place. The food was excellent, and the service was absolutely amazing. Loved the concert posters and murals that lined the walls. My wife had the Neptuna Melt on jalapeño bread, and it was phenomenal. I enjoyed the Refish Apollo. This dish was so good that it made me want to kick my mother in law. Speaking of her, she had the Chicken Ella.

Had a great time! Visited during brunch on a Sunday and had the John Lennon, Moon Taxi, Spinach & Artichoke Dip, and Caesar Salad w/ Tuna! Our server was friendly, timely, and accurate (I can’t remember her name, but it’s not because she didn’t tell us - we just had some really good drinks)!! The hostess was pretty rude at first though. Totally ignored my thanks after she sat us down, making us feel like we were inconveniencing her by being there. Might be because my dining companion asked her if we could sit at a booth that hadn’t been cleaned yet. Didn’t seem visibly dirty from our standpoint though. Other than that, I have no complaints. Will definitely be visiting again; but I really hope we don’t see that specific hostess, or that she’s having a better day next time.

I love the atmosphere here. The posters and paintings along the brick wall added character. I took my daughter for lunch here while we were in town and enjoyed it. The fried pickles are THE BEST. Stellar Beans Coffee House & Edibles is a charming coffee and breakfast cafe located in Downtown Lake Charles, making it the perfect stop for a morning pick-me-up or a delicious breakfast. Known for its gourmet coffee and delectable beignets, this spot offers an array of specialty drinks like the Sumatra Dark Roast and White Chocolate Mocha Latte. Visitors rave about the Alarm Clock breakfast dish, featuring scrambled eggs, grits, ham, and toast.
The coffee was incredible and the sandwich’s were just as good. Honestly it’s sad people support Starbucks when you have this locally owned place right down the road. The coffee shop itself is a vibe within itself. Highly recommend to anyone coming through town.

STELLAR BEANS coffee house & edibles - Lake Charles, LA Vibes: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - very much a local, artsy hangout. There are welcoming regulars of all shapes & sizes. Plenty of art displayed & for sale including paintings, cups, etc. Large menu with Star Wars themed drinks, as well as really delicious sandwiches. Open on Sundays which is not a norm for a locally owned shop. I always visit on my way to brunch. There was also local jazz music being played today. Drinks: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - strong coffee flavor & the syrups don’t taste artificial at all. Lots of options. I love the snickerdoodle with cold foam 🥰 Accessibility: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ - parking is a wheelchair users nightmare 😵‍💫 all of downtown lake Charles needs a little cement refresh. A few spots directly up front, parallel parking. There is also a one way alley close by with zero handicapped spots. There is also an extremely deep crevice in the alley that NEEDS to be fixed (not stellar beans fault). The front doors are double but one stays locked so it’s a tight squeeze. Once inside, it’s very roomy with low top tables & couches. Where the coffee is served is (estimated) 5ft from the ground so that is not accessible for a wheelchair user. Restroom is single with correctly placed grab bars.

Visited from Texas for a mini get away and fell in love with this spot! I got a Java the Hut latte and it took me by surprise. The cutie with the half white half black hair, mentioned that the owner’s favorite flavor was the one I ordered and I can see why! It was sooooo delicious I had to go back the next day for another one. I ordered one of the egg stacks which was awesome that they have keto/paleo options. It’s hard to come across places that offer a breakfast item that’s friendly to my dietary restrictions. I couldn’t help myself and also tried the BLT with brie and grapes, the next day and wow! I was happy to had use my cheat meal for that sandwich. They even spelled my name correctly which is uncommon. Very sweet owners and pleasant staff! Loved the trinket basket; leave one take one! Never seen that anywhere else either. Can’t forget to mention that it’s been over a month since I visited this place and the beautiful little spotted plant I bought has now grown 3 new leaves. It’s a spotted Begonia and pothos in one!

Spent the night in Lake Charles and was looking for a good coffee spot next morning. Mission accomplished. I absolutely loved this place, combining my favorite genre of space themed movies and TV shows (Trekkie and Star Wars fan), and good coffee, food and atmosphere. My cold brew was outstanding, smooth with notes of chocolate. I had Bacon, Eggs, Sausage and cheese minus the bread. It was awesome and filling. My GF had the Interstellar Cristo and she raved about how good it was. The staff were two young ladies and they were friendly and amazing. There was an awesome atmosphere with plenty of space to sit and enjoy your beverage and food orders. Come out and support local businesses and avoid chains. I highly recommend this place!

They start closing down well before their posted hours to include all seating options. 10 minutes prior to closing they only had 2 coffee options available, nothing else. For a 16oz iced coffee at $7 you’d think it would be at least a decent coffee. The suggested tip amount was $5. Would not recommend or come back anytime soon.

The food here is really good and Justin was awesome to talk too. I do urban exploration and he told us a few places to go to as well as areas to just avoid. I would have loved to stay for karaoke night.
Daniel V — Google review
The atmosphere of this place was pretty awesome, but they were out of far too many items far too early in the night to consider coming back. We traveled cities over to this place for my birthday night with some good friends to see a show. I ordered a drink that is supposed to come with a guitar pick garnish because I wanted the guitar pick as a memorabilia of the night. Neither I or anyone else in our party got a pick and the drink is fairly expensive. That was a pretty big let down and I think that the venue should change the menu if they aren’t going to dress the drink as stated. I would have left a 5 if not for the costly drinks and left out pick.

Brought in a table of 13, 2 hours before the event at 5pm. We ran a tab of $200 within 30 minutes and they told us we’d have to leave or pay $20 a person if we wanted to stay at 4pm. Horrible service from the manager. Mind you, the tickets online were 8 dollars. The owner let the manager do whatever she wanted to ruin good customers. Won’t be returning.

This place a gem. I was visiting Lake Charles and was dying to hear some live Cajun music. After lots of digging I found this place has a Cajun jam band on Saturdays between 11-2. But not sure if it’s every Saturday, so check before you go.

Turned around and explained everything, he stayed within our budget and we was happy with him helping us thank God! We did catch many fishes with the items he picked. My husband and I were traveling and needed to find shirts that were lighter weight. We had only packed heavier weight clothes in anticipation of colder weather. We chose Academy because they have a brand of shirts my husband likes. We were able to get two shirts at a good price.
Katherine D — Google review
Just as good as any Academy, they are all the same and have products from fishing, clothing, all sporting equipment and clothes. The checkout process may be a little slow at times due to only having a couple checkout sections open but goes relatively quick.

We were looking for shoes and a bookbag. They had a large selection, and the store was very clean, even right before school starts.
Sam R — Google review
They had what I was looking for, which I really liked because I had already looked at 2 other stores, but the price was not on the item or the shelf. Only one register was open with 12 customers in line. When I spoke to an employee, they opened two more registers. My item and two others required the help of a manager because the price for the item was not in the register.

I dont mind Academy sports, but I feel a lot of what they have is overrated, and they have e staffing issues . Also, the restrooms are always filthy and look like they never get cleaned.

Best deal on Columbia, Magellan, Bcg shirts & shorts. Best under armour hats and shirts and shorts. . ***** Special look for the clearance racks I'll take a few pics of the shirts I often find.. It's not the best pics but the "Merica" shirt I paid $4.00 for. The "Magellan shirt" I paid $9 99 & the "Don't Tread On Me Shirt" was$7.99

I am so disappointed with Academy. I've been a customer for over 20 years and get 80% of my summer wardrobe from there. Not anymore! Academy in Lake Charles first sold me two right shoes, after driving home an hour away I had to turn around and go back. Exchanged them for more expensive shoes because they didn't have anymore of the shoes I wanted in my size. After wearing them ONE time they are obviously defective and thread is coming undone. So I go to return them within my 30days and I can't because they've been worn once. Why would I buy something if I wasn't going to wear it? I was rudely told Academy didn't make the shoes, so contact Nike not them. Lol YOU SOLD THEM TO ME AND LOST A LONG TIME CUSTOMER!

Cotten's Downtown is a fantastic local eatery in Lake Charles that offers delicious home-cooked meals at affordable prices. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly, and you can even watch the grill and cook while sitting in the seating area. The food is served quickly, and I highly recommend trying their small breakfast on broad which provides a great portion for only six dollars. The flavors are excellent, earning them a solid 4.5-star rating.
Our food was excellent 👌🏽 😋! Hot off the grill made to order. Pancakes are thick, light and fluffy...very yummy. We all ordered the chicken omelet with mushrooms, onions, spinach, and cheese... big, filling, and tasty. Chicken had a good taste and was juicy. The toast was very buttery, just like we like it! It's definitely a whole in the wall type of dinner, but it was well worth the visit.

Hair was cooked into the hamburger steak. Ground beef had so seasoning. Onion rings were cold even though we went inside while they were actively bagging our order.

Fantastic food, great customer service and wonderful atmosphere as usual!! I can't wait for the ice cream parlor to open up. Great things ahead!!
Hazel E — Google review
It's a small version of the Oak Park Boulevard restaurant, yet the customer service is just as important. The service was great and the atmosphere is 1950ish. I loved the stools at the bar and the seating in the restaurant. It's quiet yet has a quant social atmosphere. The food was worth the 7 minute walk from downtown. The food is fat girl approved. I ordered the old fashioned cheese burger with onion rings and everything was made to order and still hot when I reached my lunch destination. I ordered to go. I sat in a booth while waiting for my order
Michele L — Google review
Had heard so much about the place, so decided to stop by for a classic buger and string onion rings for breakfast! 😎 went by around 9am and there were only about 12 customers there. The place is small so limited seating (maybe about 10 tables and 10 bar stool facing the chef) the food was amazing and will be back to try other items on their list.
A F — Google review
I had the Jam Good burger and my partner had the classic cheeseburger — we shared a large fry and got our food to go (there simply was not space for us inside at lunch peak). Burger patties are the right size and were perfectly cooked. Watching the grill in a place like this — which I’d liken to Montgomery, Alabama’s Hamburger King — is always fun! The fries were tasty and seemed like they had some sort of batter on them. I was pleased with the food for the price and look forward to trying some other dishes in the future.
Dusti L — Google review
I spent $95 on an order that was completely ruined. The restaurant jammed five hamburgers in the bottom of one bag, then piled two large onion rings, two fries, and an order of tots on top. By the time it arrived, all of the burgers were smashed, soggy, and inedible. When I called to report the issue, I was hung up on twice. The third time, they told me to “call DoorDash” and hung up again. Absolutely unacceptable for a restaurant that charges this much. If you value your money and your food arriving in one piece, avoid this place. Terrible food handling and even worse customer service.

Amazing friendly staff! Food was perfect, service was spectacular! Our server was phenomenal! We are looking forward to the next time we are in town! We ate at this location two days in a row during our trip - Sunday and Monday late morning, I wish I remembered our servers name to give her a shout out because she made our experience there above and beyond!

I walked in and there a two top table and seated next to me was a woman and a toddler. This was March 20 around 4 pm. The woman working was apparently the cook. She spent most of her time ogling the baby. She burned my sausage and my waffle was so over done the syrup didnt soak in. I had to ask for a fork and a refill. She spent more time with the baby and less time at her job. I will say if waffle house is a day care they do good work. Very poorly managed. Whoever runs this store has done an awful job with the staff.

When I first walked in I felt like they was prejudiced towards me bringing my little dog which is a service dog in with me he is well-mannered he sat there did not do nothing but just sit well the server she act like she didn't want to put or fart or spoon and knife on a napkin she put it at the edge of table and we had to reach and get it she was real prejudice charged us her name on her tag was Marty now the cook at first I told him that I wanted four eggs over medium with grits and toast the grits was sour so when I was almost done eating he'd give me a new bowl of fresh grits but I will not eat there anymore that's on interstate I-10 westbound side I will not eat there as long as them two are working together Marty and Scott

Sarah was HORRIBLE! Immediately told us that we were her last customers for the night and she treated us as such! Every item we asked for was OVERCOOKED or UNDERCOOKED! Our waffles were beyond hard and bacon 🥓, extra soft, was like a black (burnt) leather belt! To top it off, refused to remove items NOR discount them! Yelled at us to " Just pay your dang ticket and leave!" We paid in full, even though we didn't eat 80% of it, went to the other location and they knew Sarah ALL TOO WELL! Gave us everything perfect and FREE! Now that was beyond nice of them! (And second location was ACTUALLY CLEEEEAN)

We went there around 3 am. All the tables including the high top were dirty. We had to clean the high top ourselves. The manager stated that the dishwasher wasnt working and we can take it to go if we wanted. We opted to stay and just eat from to go trays. It took FOREVER for us to get our order. They had one cook with several orders and I was sooooo glad when the manager FINALLY decided to jump in amd help instead of standing around waiting! And service was horrible! The manager had an excuse for every concern that any customer brought to his attention! We will NEVER go back there again. Pictures are posted as well. Didnt get the floors or the tables but it was pretty much like the pic.

I went to Burger King's drive-thru at 1:56 p.m. on November 22, 2023, to order a Whopper combo. Well, I did not get my order because the lady in the drive-thru kept talking over me and was rude. I asked for fresh fry from the fryer, and she said, "It is always fresh. What else?" with an attitude. I asked for my Whopper off the broiler, and she said, "Our boiler is broken. We have what is cooked, and that is it." It was a horrible experience, and I would recommend nobody go there.
Antonette V — Google review
I had to wait 25 minutes from the time. I ordered my food to the time I received it in the drive through. When I got home? My food was cold. Which I lived 4 minutes away And my Burger was dry and burnt. So disappointed The lady said there was only two people working the cashier herself and the cook.
Barbara D — Google review
As usual the employees are so rude!!! They ask you to either back up behind the pole so the timer will change or they make you wait in a parking spot for ever! There is an older lady that works here that is the absolute rudest of all! I’ve had to call numerous times because my order was wrong and cold and they would say they would take care of it and I come back and they would NOT! Do NOT come to this Burger King! Ghetto
Joshua B — Google review
Because the guy at the drive thru was nice 2 starts never been here that drive thru didn't park us and we wait and wait and for what i had problems with the food last time and this as well the shake. Machine is down no matter the time you come and it's all around a bad experience. And also isn't a fast food place? I mean. It's as if they cook to order as far as wait time but the food temp doesn't reflect that.
Shannon J — Google review
If there was anything lower than one star I would give them that. After they got my order wrong, along with 5 others, I had to wait 45 minutes for my food to be corrected. The other 5 were taken care of before me despite them getting there after me. That's all fine. What really got under my skin is the fact that I was ignored every time I tried to ask for an eta on my food. I had to yell to get their attention. Turns out they had forgotten about me, even though I was standing right there. Then the cook comes with my burger and what do you know it’s wrong again. Didn't listen to a word I said. I had to watch to make sure it was correct. After that there was no apology or have a good day. So bottom line, rude/deaf employees and the worst service. I will never give burger king my business again after this experience.
Justin B — Google review
Good food and service but the place was dirty and there were no condiments at the self service counter.
Nancy R — Google review
The reason I don't eat at restaurants like I used to is because of bad customer service. This Burger King is a prime example. Cold fries cooked in old grease. Chicken nuggets taste like they've been cooked in old grease and been setting up for hours. I'm never eating there again.

The menu features inventive dishes such as Bone Marrow and Blue Crab Beignets, along with a selection of vegetable, seafood, and meat options paired with creative sides and salads. The cocktail menu boasts top shelf spirits combined with bitters, herbs, liqueurs, spices, and fruits.
My husband and I went to Callas this weekend recommended by a friend. Definitely try to set a reservation! they are busy for a reason :). Food was amazing! vegetarian options, wonderful drink menu, and honestly decent prices for the size on their “shareables” part of the menu. Everything tasted wonderful and the ingredients tasted worth the money you’d spend. Our waitress was Callie and she was so sweet. Gave us time to eat and enjoy everything while also checking up on us at decent times. She was so bright and helpful through our whole meal. We noticed the waiter on the table next to us, Christiano. He was just as bright and helpful to his table. Only off point my husband and i noticed was some of the other waitresses putting our drinks and some appetizers at other tables and leaving before we could say they were ours. Two of the waitresses were unwelcoming and made somewhat rude comments about the restaurant itself. I was very thankful we had Callie and got to witness Christiano. Nonetheless, the food and most of our service was wonderful! will go again.

A great dining experience option in Lake Charles, we enjoyed all the dishes and tried as much as we could on the menu by dining 2 days in a row 😁 some of the dishes are on the sweet side including the Brussels sprouts. The tiramisu was excellent.

My fiancé and I came for lunch, we had the BBQ shrimp to start, then we each had the lobster and shrimp pasta, the Mac and cheese as a side, then cheesecake as dessert. Combine that with 1 drink and after tip the total came to $200 for the two of us. The cheesecake was inedible due to the crust being extremely salty. The service was great and the rest of the food was pretty good. Worst part came right after we left the restaurant. We both got ill to our stomachs on the way home. Multiple bathroom stops and nausea. I want to give more than 1 star, and if we would not have gotten sick I believe we would’ve. Can’t say I’ll be going back. For that kind of money, there are just better places in Lake Charles.

When the entre was brought out the aroma surrounded the table. Every bite was the same as the first. The scallops were prepared perfectly tender and the flavors of the pasta with truffles were delicious.

Went on a Wednesday for dinner at about 6:30pm. First time going and we really enjoyed it! Location: away from the primary area of LC. Next to the Bekery. A really nice neighborhood with apartments and small businesses. Parking onsite is free but limited with most parking available on the Roadside or behind the Bekery. Atmosphere: very clean, modern and airy. Mostly table seating (indoor, outside balcony, and bar seating available). The restaurant is actually on the second floor (when you walk in, walk straight to the back & turn right- there's an elevator there). They dimmed the lights as the sun set. Good lighting (overhead and table top). Attire is mostly business casual. A good place for socializing, date or special occasion. Not really for kids. Service: Very friendly. They seemed short staffed but handled it well. Kept refills going and boxed up leftovers. Food: absolutely delicious. We couldn't decide what we liked most- it was all spot on! We ordered the loaded fries appetizer, hanger steak with mac & cheese, and the lamb. All of it was seasoned very well, cooked to request, and tasted fresh. This place definitely feels passionate about their food! Menu: appetizers included fries, bread, Deviled eggs, shrimp, chips, bone marrow tartare, blue crab Benedict, fried oysters, etc. which ranged $7.50-$35. Salads were about $13.50-$19. Burgers, chicken/pork sandwich $17. Entrees of lamb, steak, mushroom & truffle pasta, short ribs, fish, quail, shrimp & grits ranging $24-$63. Sides included asparagus, mac & cheese, Brussel sprouts, & veggies ranging $9.50-$11.50. The most expensive entree was a 14oz ribeye for $63; cheapest was 1 quail or the shrimp & grits for $24. Price: I would assume the average person spends $50-60 per person here if buying an entree & side & drink. Overall, a really refreshing, great tasting dining experience. I would definitely rank this as one of the best restaurants in LC.

Nice little mall in the heart of Lake Charles. It's clean and well maintained. Most of the mall was occupied by tenants. It has a small food court but they have a little bit of everything there. I think they need a true Cajun restaurant, however. I'm glad I stopped by here to check this place out.

This mall is excellent, a lot of different stores to shop from. On the food front, there's Annie's Pretzels, a Phillycheesteak place, and a Starbucks, to name a few. Every employee was nice and helpful. I did not use the restrooms, so i'm not sure of their condition, but judging from my venture through the mall itself, I'm certain that it's up to par as it was very clean and upkept. Also, surrounding the mall are outlet stores like Homegoods, T.J. Maxx, Versona, and chico's. Overall, I have zero complaints, so if you're ever in the area & want to enjoy some shopping, make sure to stop by! 😁 Take care & Happy Living 🤙🏽

Such a beautiful & safe park to bring the littles. I absolutely love the music that of played from Disney movies as well. Definitely a playground I would have enjoyed as a kid. They have onsite restrooms.
Ofelia M — Google review
This park has an amazing playground. It’s expansive and compatible with kids of all ages. It’s naturally setup with a nautical theme with a large pirate ship sitting as a center piece. There are separate areas for the big kids and little kids. There are plenty of slides and swings and the typical stuff, but there are also some interesting home grown features that I’ve not seen anywhere else. It’s also super secure with two fences that ensure the kids aren’t going to escape. The bathrooms are surprisingly clean and there is a splash pad for the summer months. This is a jewel.
Christopher W — Google review
You really cant go wrong with this park. Its massive with an absolute abundance of things for kids of all ages to participate in. There are different sections that are age based and it includes a splash pad. What would be nice is if yhe gated park had gates to get in. The park is so large, it can be hard to keep tabs on kids. Having door gates would help alleviate the stress of misplacing your child for 8 seconds when they inevitably run out of sight.

Seafood restaurant
Seafood Palace in Lake Charles is a laid-back restaurant offering a variety of seafood options and fried dishes like crab, gumbo, and po' boys. The casual and homey atmosphere makes it the perfect spot to satisfy your Cajun cravings. From boiled crawfish with corn and potatoes to boudin balls and pistolettes filled with seafood, the menu is filled with culinary delights. It's a popular spot for locals and tourists alike, known for its delicious crawfish boil.
My dad and stepmother took me out to eat lunch. A male member of the staff met us at the door and held it open for us as my dad is disabled. He seated us right away. When I walked in, I noticed the people first. There were a few open tables, but they have ample seating. The customers were eating, talking, and smiling. Our server came and took our drink orders but already knew what my mom and step-mom wanted. She gave us enough time to decide what we wanted and took our order. Our food came out timely, and the wait time was not long. The crabs I ordered were very full and heavy. My dad had the fried fish and oysters. We were checked on for drink refills appropriately. The atmosphere with the cajun music was nice. The seating was arranged where we did not feel crammed in there either. All of their wait-staff were smiling and kind. Some were laughing but also observant of customers' needs. I will surely return.

Seafood Palace offers a delightful dining experience with perfectly cooked dishes. Our server, Sarah, was friendly and attentive. However, a reminder about their bottled sodas policy (no refills) would be helpful. The boudin balls appetizer was a highlight, seasoned to perfection. The seafood platter and fried shrimp/fish plate were both delicious, making for an overall enjoyable meal. Highly recommended for seafood lovers!

If you want true southern seafood and a laid back atmosphere, then you have to check out Seafood Palace. One of the many restaurant gems in Lake Charles! The Gumbo is the best I’ve ever had!

I ate lunch at the Seafood Palace in Lake Charles, Louisiana on Enterprise Boulevard on Oct. 17, 2025: ate my friend's recommendations: chicken and sausage gumbo and fried catfish filet! Both were fantastic: catfish was very light and not fishy at all - beautiful--perfectly crispy with cornmeal coating! (5 out of 5) Chicken and sausage gumbo was so flavorful: great depth of flavor from home-made roux with identifiable large portions of chicken and sausage (not spicy hot) and I loved it. (5 out of 5-if I could double this score, I would, 10 out of 5--I would reorder this in a heart beat). I got adventurous and strayed from my friend's recommendation: stuffed shrimp--I love shrimp, but the flavor combinations were odd for my palate (1 out of 5). Service was so delightful with Ms. Sarah, my service provider. You are wonderful, Ms. Sarah (Rating 10 out of 5--you did great, Ms. Sarah, so kind and great at hospitality). Bathroom was so clean. (Rating 10 out of 5-great job on cleanliness). Overall, Seafood Palace is a fantastic seafood restaurant: great cajun flavors and perfect for me! Also, loved that they serve Coca-cola in the bottle or over ice-really enjoyed Coke from the bottle.

This was AMAZING. You have to go here! I had the best oyster poboy I have eaten in years. Our friend had a HUGE half platter of crabs....the way crabs should be. They were full of meat ... just incredible. And for a seafood place, they make a melt-in-your-mouth chicken fried steak. My daughter ATE IT ALL! the beer is cold, the seafood is fresh and cooked to perfection and the staff is soooo friendly. I caught one off-guard with my photo and she danced for the Pic. Sweet and fun! I would give them 10 stars if I could!!!

I ordered 6 fried blue crabs and a small seafood platter with fried okra. The fried crab was good (4/5). The fried seafood platter was good. The French fries were crispy. The fried fish was delicious. The only things I didn't like were the stuffed crab and fried oysters. The atmosphere and service here are phenomenal (5/5). Maggie was nice on the phone and at the cashier when I was checking out. My waiter, Alis, was super kind and friendly, taking care of me at the table. Overall experience: 4.5/5 stars

We were so impressed. My wife and I went for “skin perfecting” facials. I had never been, but my wife had. Although the environment is very classy and sophisticated, the staff treats you like Kings and Queens. I was wearing swimming shorts and an MTV tshirt, my wife had just gotten off of work wearing FR clothing. I thought we would be judged and treated poorly but so contrary. Thank you for the AMAZING experience!!!!

Chinese restaurant
Jo Jo's China Bistro in Lake Charles offers a modest dining space serving traditional Chinese dishes like moo shu chicken and lo mein. Customers have praised the cleanliness of the restaurant and the attentive service, with quick refills on drinks and prompt delivery of appetizers and main courses. The portion sizes are generous, making it a good value for money. While some found certain dishes to be greasy or bland, others enjoyed the large portions and flavorful sauces that are characteristic of American Chinese cuisine.
We ordered take out and the food was excellent. They had the food ready quick and it was hot and fresh. They had everything in the order like requested.

Quick lunch stop. Prices are really good. You get plenty to fill you up, and the flavor was good. The fried rice was a little bland, but mix it with the broccoli chicken, it is better. Restaurant is very clean and waiter was so nice and attentive. Might try something different next time.
Hailey M — Google review
There was nothing remarkable about dining there. The food was mildly seasoned, even though I asked for extra spices. The portions were large, even though I ordered a seven piece wings and only got six. Overall, there was nothing that would make me rave to my friends to try this place.
RVPeak — Google review
If I were to finish my plate I would have gotten food poisoning. Took the family out a few nights ago to eat, didn't finish my food because something didn't taste right. I don't know if it was the beef or the vegetables. One of my children complained that their dish didn't taste right. Regardless to say no one in our group consumed more than a few bites of the food that we ordered. After an hour of arriving home I started to get stomach cramps ( I am a male ) and became somewhat dizzy lethargic and weak struggling to lay comfortably , needless to say I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The food is disgusting, and for those people that say the food is good I have my doubts that either you were a former employee or an employee or an associate of someone that manages or works at that restaurant. I was on the fence about going to urgent care because I honestly and truly believe that the food that they served myself and my family was either cross-contaminated and spoiled or cooked incorrectly. Management please do not respond with your unsympathetic apologies and false promotion towards the service and quality of this establishment and its food that you prepare. In this day and age I am sure that there is someone with food and beverages or a health inspector that the owner is possibly paying off.

Order from these people yesterday, my beef fried rice had NO beef in it, but plenty of egg shells. If you can destroy something this simple, your restaurant needs to shut down.
Core J — Google review
Ordered from here while we stayed a night at a hotel nearby. The food here was decent Chinese food. The lo mein was mediocre and really greasy. The cheese puff wontons were really good. I didn't expect it to be so big as most restaurants have it slighter smaller. If I was in town again, I'd probably try this place again.

Pizza Artista is a new pizza establishment in town that boasts prime locations and commendable service. The eatery stands out for its top-notch ingredients and efficient customer service. With a multitude of friendly, hardworking young employees, they ensure prompt service even during peak times when the place tends to get quite busy due to its strategic placement at the mall. Furthermore, their late closing hours make it an ideal spot for families who wish to dine in at a later hour.
So we were on the Crossroads festival in Kinder and on the way home we stopped in Lake Charles to shop and to have lunch. We are eating the Mediterranean Veggie and Classic Cajun. We asked to split one, because I am on a diet unfortunately and my friend eats little. One of the best pizzas I had. Cierra and Scott are super nice and very friendly! The pizza is delicious! They have finishes you can request on your pizza once done and those are free of charge. The environment is pleasant and clean . Thank you for the wonderful experience. I am definitely coming back once I am off this diet ( end of July 2025) and will have a full sized pizza.
Beata S — Google review
I recently visited Pizza Artista on their BOGO Tuesday nights and I want to share my terrible experience. While standing in line for about 12 mins behind what seemed to be online orders because no one was in front of me. I am finally acknowledged to have my order taken. I have two create your own pizza to be made. We move down the line, get our toppings and our pizza’s are walked over to be baked in the oven. I take a seat at the table right in front of the cash register so I am to see and hear everything that is transpiring while I wait. We sit there waiting for another 25 mins for our pizza’s to be ready. Anthony the MOD (I guess) is running around all flustered because of the 8 people that were in the restaurant and the probably 5 online orders. I watched employee number 1 take my pizza out of the oven and tell Anthony(MOD) that my pizza was a remake when he took it out of the oven. Anthony(MOD) says a remake for what? Employee 1 says to him because it is burnt. His own employer could see that it was and should have been corrected but Anthony (MOD) looks at it non shallot and says it’s fine! Employee 1 leaves pizza’s on rack waiting to be boxed. Meanwhile another 10 mins goes by before my name is called by Anthony (MOD) to get finishes on the pizza’s before boxing. I look at the pizza and I tell him that they are indeed burnt and I don’t want it. He stands their for a minute and then proceeds to tell me that if I want him to remake me another pizza that I would have to go back to the back of the line and wait for another 20 mins for the remake! Excuse me so this my fault right? I told him it is burnt and I am not going to pay for that. He says well they are buy one get one free anyway. I said so you think that is a quality pizza right there and that I should have to pay for it? By this time people are watching as we go back and forth because again Anthony was acting like it was my fault that my pizza’s are burnt. With no apologies or care at all, and because patrons now watching us, he says what finishes do you want ma’am ? I said again I am not paying for that, he sets pizza on window for me to take so I will leave. Because at this point he just wants me gone. Such poor customer service! I want to say that when I first walked in I noticed the writing on the canvases on the walls, it’s says we pride ourself on quality and Freshness, well not their manager Anthony ! He could care less about my experience, or making things right, or if I ever returned back to their restaurant again. Do better Pizza Artista in lake Charles .

We visited this pizza establishment last weekend while celebrating my 15 year old’s birthday. There were 11 of us and the staff and owner or manager were very accommodating and super friendly. He allowed us to bring in my son’s cookie cake from the cookie place there in the mall. The pizza was DELICIOUS. We liked it so much that when we finished our shopping and movie at the mall, we went back and ordered 2 more pizzas to take home for dinner. Great call on the Gouda on the swamp daddy and thank you for recommending the fig-n-awesome it was figgin awesome! Seriously we were really relieved that the pizza was so tasty but I can’t even describe just how friendly and nice the staff are. Worth a trip just to be spoiled by them :) thx you guize! Especially for letting us take over the large table. We couldn’t eat/celebrate at our apartment because the grandparents can’t make it up my stairs so we are super grateful for how sweet y’all are. Our first time dining in and we met Scott, the owner and artist behind it these delicious pizzas. My kids got the regular pepperoni but they said the sauce was great and they liked the pepperoni too. My husband tried their boudin calzone and I tried their fignawesome pizza. Well, we ended up trading half of our meals because we loved them so much. Texas Roadhouse is a vibrant steakhouse that offers American cuisine with a Southwestern twist in a lively setting adorned with Texas-themed decorations. Today, I had an exceptional dining experience at this establishment. Upon arriving at 11:52, I had previously joined the waitlist via their mobile app at 11:46 to minimize any potential waiting time. The staff swiftly prepared our table within approximately 5 minutes despite the bustling crowd.
For the price, this dining experience is very difficult to compete with (let alone beat). The wait time was very long, but ae were able to wait away from the restaurant by reserving a place through the website. Service was excellent, and the atmosphere was uplifting and refreshing. My steak was cooked exactly as I requested, and the cactus blossom onion was crispy and not swimming in grease like the competitions similar appetizer. Of course, the rolls and cinnamon butter are insanely good as well… it’s almost worth dining here just for those. We will be back!

Ordered a full rack of ribs to go, including 2 sides, rolls and butter, for take out. 25 bucks for two. And depending on who you are, both could make 2 meals apiece from this . Do the math. Fast food places are suspect. At Texas Road House, you know what you are going to eat. Value wise, you come at better than McDonalds. The ribs are to die for. The quality of food is second to none in my opinion. I wish this chain continued success. Can’t wait to come back.

Chick-fil-A is a popular fast-food chain known for its delicious chicken sandwiches, nuggets, salads, and sides. Customers appreciate the unique feature of their ice that chills beverages without diluting them. While some have experienced longer wait times during peak hours at the drive-thru, many praise the friendly and efficient service provided by the staff. The company's commitment to higher pay for workers and having Sundays off has garnered positive feedback from patrons.
It was almost 2PM and the car line was packed (but moved VERY QUICKLY) We ate inside and the dining room was very busy. The attendant was very helpful getting us a clean table. They brought our food quickly. It was fresh, hot and delicious.

Samantha C — Google review
This Chick Fila just wasn't on par with the others I have visited. The lady at the counter didn't even say anything when you say "thank you" and acted like she didn't really want to be there. The food was good but that's about all. I'll be back when I'm in LC because this is one of my daughter's favorite places to eat. For the price you would expect friendliness but that's not what we were met with Friday when we visited.

Crowded and popular even during early lunch hours (11:30 am). Very decent fast food - I like how their chicken sandwich actually tastes like chicken and also isn’t slathered in unnecessary gross sauces. Waffle fries are also good if not the best. Most outstanding is their friendly service and the cool trash can that automatically opens. Bathroom is small (2 stalls) but clean. A little ways off I10, but a worthwhile stop.

Cashier didn't say "my pleasure" which literally has never happened to me before. The guy who brought us our food was super polite but they did get our order wrong. Also the indoor tables and under the tables could've used a good cleaning.

This was the nastiest, most disgusting Chick-fil-A I have ever been to. The floor was sticky and covered in dropped food. The bathroom toilet was clogged the entire time we were there. Workers seemed to actively avoid helping in any way. We were traveling through so I’m not sure if this is just how Lake Charles is, but it was awful.

Outstanding service and consistently good food. Drive thru moves fast. It blows my mind to see bad reviews of this place. The people leaving bad reviews should go to Taco Bell, Dairy Queen, or Popeyes and see what bad service is actually like.

This is honestly the first Chick Fil-A to which I couldn't give five stars. The drive-thru ordering lines were chaotic. The team members taking orders were both bouncing between the two lines. We drove right up to the ordering menu and sat there unnoticed for several minutes until we just pulled forward and looped around into a line that had someone taking orders. We had ordered through the app, so it was extra frustrating that we had to sit even longer. I've never experienced anything like that at a franchise location. Food was great, order was correct, and everything was hot and as expected. Just a really odd arrival.

Came on Saturday night to celebrate a birthday. Tucker took great care of us. Brought out fresh complementary bread and took our order. Caesar salad and calamari were delicious. Filets and ribeye were seasoned well and cooked to correct temperatures. A good shareable size for mac and cheese and mash potatoes. Both were tasty. We shared the Chantilly cake(dessert was not comped) which was yummy. Overall good food experience for Lake Charles. The wagyu was great the garlic butter sauce I added wasn't even necessary but it was still wonderful. 👌🏽 👩🏽‍🍳 💋. Duckfat potatoes were a great side. I was not crazy about the mushrooms appearance which is likely from the balsamic glaze or something but I'm not a mushroom fan my husband is. Beautiful restaurant. Great place if you’re looking for an upscale dining experience. Staff is very professional and anything you order on the menu you’ll love.

Me and wife came here for our anniversary. Cody was our Waiter. I give him a 5 out of 5. Very attentive but not to buggy. Food was 4 out of 5 My steak was cooked really well. Nice juices. I should have asked for a hard char. But other than that it was really good. Salmon was also really good. Sides Brussels sprouts, good but I should have asked for a well done Brussels sprouts. Mash potatoes- basic really good. Overall experience and would come back and recommend.
