Stanford Shopping Center is a top-notch open-air shopping and dining destination situated near the renowned Stanford University Campus. It boasts an impressive lineup of over 140 specialty stores, featuring upscale brands such as Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales, and Nordstrom. The mall offers a delightful mix of luxury labels and local favorites, along with a diverse selection of restaurants and cafes. Visitors can revel in the outdoor ambiance while exploring the array of stores and eateries that cater to various tastes.
This is a fun shopping mall here in Palo Alto California. It’s completely outdoor and it’s not a huge problem due to the great climate here. It has your typical big department stores like Macy’s and Nordstrom but also many other familiar franchises. A few restaurants and cafes to choose from as well. A fun filled time for the whole family. 😎👍
Yodaman S — Google review
Loved the open-air vibe with all the greenery and fountains—it doesn’t feel like your typical mall. Tons of great stores, from high-end brands to cool local shops. Grabbed a bite at one of the cafes and just enjoyed people-watching. Perfect place to spend a relaxed afternoon shopping and soaking up the Silicon Valley energy.

Stanford Shopping Center: A High-End Shopping Destination** Stanford Shopping Center offers an outdoor shopping experience that can be enjoyed year-round, with some visitors noting summer as a particularly pleasant time to visit. The open-air design provides a relaxed atmosphere, enhancing the shopping experience. The selection of stores includes a mix of high-end designer boutiques and unique specialty shops, indicating a careful curation aimed at providing a diverse range of luxury goods. Dining options at the mall are varied, with establishments such as Tender Greens offering healthy meal choices, along with several upscale restaurants and cafes. Attention to detail is evident throughout the mall, including cleanliness and the professionalism of the staff across various stores. Additional amenities such as valet service, ample parking, and comfortable seating areas contribute to a sense of convenience. Overall, Stanford Shopping Center serves as more than just a shopping venue; it is situated as a destination in the Bay Area, suitable for various occasions, whether for extensive shopping or a casual outing. It is regarded as a premium outdoor shopping experience.
Kiet L — Google review
This is a really big and spacious shopping center! I’m amazed by the number of seating areas available, especially for university students. It’s such a great spot if you want to study outside, with its airy and nature-friendly architecture. You can easily spend hours walking around, window shopping, or people-watching. There are lots of sports shops, high-end brands, and there’s even a very cute cat town!
BA — Google review
A bit underwhelming… there is not many stores here compared to other malls such as the Roseville Galleria which also carries most luxury brands. I do enjoy shopping at Loro Piana and Tiffany but this particular Hermes isn’t my preferred location. Overall I would not go out of my way to visit here.
Komal K — Google review
I've had a ton of experiences here and they've always been good! The place is well kept and clean, with tons of options offering everything you could ever imagine and need all in one place. The food spots are also delicious, and well priced for this style of mall. The parking situation can get hectic at times, but you'll find a spot!
Robert W — Google review
The ultimate Bay Area shopping experience comes with a beautiful wander through flowers and foliage. Planters and bedding can be found throughout the open-air experience with plenty of food options to dine in the presence of petals 🌺

It has a great Christmas vibe, lots of delicious restaurants to choose from, and plenty of shops to explore, including Christmas decorations, clothing, and beautiful kitchenware.

Art museum
Nestled within the Stanford University campus, Cantor Arts Center is a renowned museum showcasing classic and contemporary art. Boasting a vast 38,000-piece collection across 24 galleries, it offers free admission to visitors. The center features rotating exhibitions by world-class artists and houses an impressive array of art, including the famous Rodin bronze sculpture collection. The highlight of the center is the Rodin Sculpture Garden, which displays 199 sculptures by Auguste Rodin.
Mind-blowing museum and totally free! The Cantor Arts Center at Stanford is one of those hidden gems that completely surprises you. The building itself is beautiful—elegant architecture, light-filled rooms, and peaceful energy throughout. What really blew me away was the range of art: ancient artifacts, classical European paintings, modern photography, sculpture, video installations, and even a vintage train and curated historical displays. One moment you’re admiring a Renaissance portrait, the next you’re watching a moody film piece or examining early motion studies. It’s like traveling through time and across the world—all under one roof. The indoor-outdoor layout is perfect. You can wander through the galleries, then take a break outside in the sculpture garden or courtyard. Even if you’re not usually into museums, this place is so well done that it just pulls you in. And the staff? So kind and helpful without being overbearing. You feel genuinely welcome here. Whether you’re visiting Stanford or just in the area, this is a must. You could spend 30 minutes or 3 hours and still leave feeling inspired.
Maryam G — Google review
Beautiful place to enjoy artsy environment. A gem in the middle of Stanford: free entrance, free art kit for kids, and plenty of places to enjoy the art. We came here during weekday in the afternoon, there was no wait, some group of students came in for field trip. Appreciate the owner of this place so much. What a legacy!
Ngân S — Google review
A powerful and thought-provoking experience. The Cantor Arts Center surprised me deeply. I came in expecting a typical university museum—and left moved, inspired, and full of questions. The Second Nature exhibition was particularly impactful: bold, raw, and unapologetically urgent. Some works felt overly constructed, others struck me like quiet revelations. But overall, it was a meaningful encounter with art, nature, and our responsibility as humans. Highly recommended for anyone seeking more than just pretty pictures.

Outdoor sculptures are Amazing, if you have some time to visit, before a Stanford Appointment. The museum has a Great History of the first railroad from The Bay Area, to The East Coast, too!! There's a Church, too, with Beautiful stained glass windows.

A stunning collection! I loved this compact, well organised and virtually empty (visitors wise) museum. It's free entry as well, such a treat
Valeria ( — Google review
A museum with a vast archive that is well worth seeing. You can spend a day visiting the museum and the school.
Adnan K — Google review
This museum is free, easy to navigate, and fun for kids. The collection is diverse—everything from ancient artifacts to contemporary pieces—so there’s always something interesting to see. The building itself is beautiful, elegant, spacious, and clean, and staff (volunteers) are quite helpful and friendly. The outdoor sculpture garden is a highlight, especially for kids who need to move around after looking at art indoors. It’s a great balance of culture and fresh air. You could easily spend a whole day here, and since admission costs nothing, the only expense is parking and coffee, - if you visit the small cafe. Great place for a laid-back visit, whether you’re into art or just looking for something different to do.

Town & Country Village is a historical shopping center in Palo Alto that seamlessly blends modern retail with classic architecture. The area hosts various community events throughout the year, making it a vibrant and lively destination. With its pedestrian walkways and gardens, the village offers an upscale shopping experience featuring both chain stores and specialty boutiques. Visitors can explore a wide range of shops, including In Her Shoes and Francescas Collections, as well as enjoy services such as spas and salons.
What an amazing place this is! It’s never boring and there are lots of options for dining and shopping. I was visiting from Canada when my sister-in-law introduced us to it. If I lived here I would hang out here all the time! 😎
Yodaman S — Google review
This is a very busy place. Avoid it during the "rush hour" because you will experience close encounters with pedestrians and vehicles. Over the last year, I've experienced rude, impatient people who pull out in front of you. Honking horns like it's going to make the many other people move out of their way. This is the only place in Palo Alto, I've experienced this level of rudeness. People in the area are aware, courteous, and respectful. If you must go here, plan your trip early and leave your rude attitude at home.

Adorable strip mall in Palo Alto. They really have everything here, from acai bowls, to coffee, to bookstores, to yoga, to gift stores, to burger joints, and so much more. Lots of 2.5 hour free parking too!

Lovely collection of stores and restaurants. Parking can be tricky and prices are n the higher end. Lovely shaded areas for walking and sitting. Cupcakes, coffee, fashion, tutoring, and of course, Trader Joe’s.

Has a lot of stores of clothing and foods. So many restaurants. Ample parking. Clean and neat. Love the atmosphere there. Lots of space for patio seating. Must be crowded in the weekends due to standford being there.

I always enjoy a visit to this lively shopping complex .. very villagy with great selection of shops and eateries . I especially recommend the Douce Francais cafe where. I always enjoy a coffee and croissant.. for a light lunch one can’t beat their Salade Nicoise with shrimps and champagne vinaigrette.

A great place to shop and meet people but 20th parking lot to town and country. It was a great place to introduce to two colleagues from India client from the bay area and myself.
Ronald F — Google review
It is conveniently located near Stanford University, making it a potential spot for students and faculty members to frequent. However, despite its strategic location, the accessibility leaves much to be desired. Parking is one of the primary concerns for visitors. During peak hours, finding a parking spot can be a frustrating endeavor. The parking lots are often crowded, and the layout can be confusing for first-time visitors. There are designated areas for different stores, but the signage is unclear, leading to a chaotic experience. Moreover, the parking spaces themselves are quite narrow, making it difficult for larger vehicles to maneuver without the risk of scratching neighboring cars. The options for those relying on public transportation are limited. There are a few bus stops nearby, but the frequency of buses is not ideal for those who depend on them for regular visits. The lack of a nearby train station also adds to the inconvenience for those who prefer to use public transit. Town and Country Village boasts a mix of retail stores, but the selection is mixed. A few standout stores offer unique products, but many of the shops feel generic and overpriced. For instance, you can find several high-end boutiques that sell clothing and accessories, but the prices are often steep, and the quality does not always justify the cost. Several specialty stores cater to niche markets. While these stores might appeal to specific demographics, they do not have a broad appeal that would attract diverse customers. For example, there is a store dedicated to high-end kitchen gadgets, which might be interesting for culinary enthusiasts but unlikely to draw in the average shopper. In addition to retail stores, there are a few service-oriented businesses, such as dry cleaners, hair salons, and fitness centers. These services are convenient for regular visitors but do not add much to the shopping experience. They serve a practical purpose but lack the excitement that one might expect from a shopping destination. The dining options at Town and Country Village are perhaps its strongest suit, yet even here, the experience is lukewarm. There is a decent variety of eateries, from casual cafes to more upscale restaurants. However, the quality of food varies significantly from one establishment to another. Some cafes and bakeries offer a range of pastries, sandwiches, and coffee for casual dining. While these spots are convenient for a quick bite, the food is often average. There is nothing particularly memorable about the menu items; the prices are higher for what you get. For instance, a simple sandwich and coffee can set you back more than expected, and the taste is nothing to write home about. On the other hand, a few upscale dining options offer a more refined culinary experience. These restaurants tend to have better food quality but also have a higher price tag. While the ambiance in these restaurants is generally pleasant, the overall dining experience does not always justify the cost. The service can be hit or miss, and the wait times during peak hours can be long, detracting from the overall experience. One of the redeeming qualities of Town and Country Village is its pleasant ambiance. The shopping center is designed with a village-like feel, featuring outdoor walkways, seating areas, and greenery. This setup creates a relaxed and inviting atmosphere, making it a nice place to stroll around, especially on a sunny day. However, more than the ambiance is needed to elevate the overall experience. While the outdoor seating areas are a nice touch, they can get crowded quickly, especially during weekends and holidays. This means finding a spot to sit and enjoy your meal or coffee can be challenging. Additionally, the noise levels can get quite high during busy times, detracting from the otherwise serene environment. The design of the shopping center is also somewhat outdated. While it has a quaint charm, it lacks the modern amenities and aesthetic many newer shopping centers offer.

Tamarine is a contemporary and upscale Vietnamese restaurant that offers a variety of small and large plates meant for sharing. The restaurant emphasizes the communal aspect of dining, serving family-style entrees along with six types of rice, soups, noodles, salads, and starters. Guests can also enjoy rotating exhibits of Vietnamese paintings displayed on the walls.
Tamarine is a nice restaurant for fine dining. I find the ambiance to be great, and their specialty drinks were top-notch. The lamb chops were exceptional. I enjoyed the family dining concept. The entire approach is luxury from the curtain you must pull back to enter to the exceptional service you receive during your visit. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a next level fine dining experience. The food arrived hot each time, and my cup was never empty. They had numerous excellent wines paired with each course. I never had to do anything more than look up to find an attentive person present to meet my needs. I look forward to returning to Tamarine in the very near future.

Service was okay, server did not ask us if we had questions or needed recommendations. She wasn’t around when we needed her generally. They had a very cute setup for the birthday we had. The food was hit-or-miss. I don’t love fried foods and a couple of our orders were fried like the prawns and calamari appetizers so I just wouldn’t get those again. I also did not love the corn fritters. The entrees, like peach burrata salad and the tiger prawns + noodles, were excellent. Kiwi mockjito was my favorite drink.

1/12/25. Upscale Vietnamese restaurant in downtown Palo Alto. Excellent food with friendly, knowledgeable staff. The wine list is not too long with prices in the 2X range. Pricing is on the higher end. Our cost for five people not including drink was $100 per person. They do tap on a 20% gratuity (parties of 4+) and a 4% employee “benefit” automatically. I can recommend the dumplings, Tamarine Taste, Prawns, Sea Bass, Chicken Curry, Cauliflower, Roasted Squash and Coconut Rice. Desserts are outstanding. And, you should have a cup of Vietnamese Coffee! Yes, I would recommend this restaurant.

Tamarine: authentic Vietnamese cuisine at its best. An outstanding culinary experience I shared with great friends. We tried a variety of dishes, all delicious. The tamarind shrimp stood out particularly. The dessert was an amazing surprise. The cocktails are excellent and the service impeccable. A place that showcases its expertise in every detail. Without a doubt, I’ll be back soon. Worth every visit!

So so good Came here for a team offsite so we got the pre fixe and was able to add an additional dish My favorites - shaking beef with arugula - grilled tiger prawn. Tasted like it was soaked in fish sauce and charcoal grilled, it was great. The garlic noodles was also good - Brussels sprouts was so good - beef tartare on tempura seaweed hors d’oeuvres - lamb was deliciously seared and so juicy Was pretty good - vanilla ice cream scoop over berry crumble - seared wagyu carpaccio Wouldn’t get next time - roti - spring rolls - calamari was ok but some people liked it - tofu was ok but some people loved it

Boichik Bagels Palo Alto

Bagel shop
Boichik Bagels in Palo Alto, located in Town & Country Village, is a takeout-focused spot with a few outdoor tables for enjoying their delectable bagels and sandwiches. The bagels have the perfect chewiness and are available untoasted with chive spread or as part of mouthwatering sandwiches like whitefish salad or lox. Despite its small size, the place exudes friendliness and warmth.
When I first read an article about best bagels shop being in Berkeley I laughed. Not because there are no good bagels on West Coast, but because bagels are in States pretty much equal to NYC. But when NY Times claimed so, I decided to check it out. And since they opened in Palo Alto I decided to try it today. Everything is true. They are best bagels in States. Hands down. Probably most expensive to. I ordered one toasted everything bagel 🥯 with lox spread. And it was $6.50. But honestly it was really worth it. Highly recommend .
Srdjan P — Google review
Excellent way to start your day! They have a wide selection of bagels and spreads to choose from. I got a eggything with the horseradish cheddar scallion spread and it was delicious. Chewy, warm and filling. The spot is more catered towards takeout orders so the seats outside are a bit bare boned. There was a bit of a wait for me since the order before me was super huge. Not sure if this happens often, but might be something to factor in if you're looking for something quick.
Nicholas P — Google review
I recently visited Boichik Bagels with high hopes, but unfortunately, the overall experience left me underwhelmed. While the customer service was a highlight—Jonathan in particular was incredibly kind and helpful—the food itself didn’t quite meet expectations. The everything bagel I ordered was fairly standard and lacked the distinct flavor or texture I was hoping for. Additionally, it wasn’t as toasty as I prefer, which impacted the overall bite. I paired it with chive cream cheese, which ended up being overly salty, overpowering the bagel rather than complementing it. Despite the lackluster food experience, the friendly and attentive service helped balance things out. Because of that, I’m bumping my 2-star food experience to 3 stars overall, thanks to the excellent customer interaction. I’m hoping for a better impression next time.
Arely E — Google review
Good option for bagels in the South Bay Area! Got the classic (a lox bagel with some toppings) for a Sunday morning breakfast. Perfect ratio of bagel and toppings. Ordering online can save some time but the line also goes pretty quick too!
Alexander L — Google review
In the morning the bagels might be nice and fresh but at 13:40pm we bought 6 multi grain bagels and they were very chewy, hard to eat and had no crunchy crust. Sorry owner it was not pumpernickel and it was not chewable. Just sell fresh warm bagels! We eat them from other places for the last 40+ years only ;) Sorry, but to pay that amount for old bagels is a joke. Suggestion, maybe buy when they are nice and warm or you should toast them ... They were nice enough to reimburse us. Thanks.
Joop V — Google review
They have good and fresh bagels. Their menu has got good options to try and the service is good and quick. Expect waiting on weekends for sure. The place is expensive for a bagel place, the lox bagel cost $16 and the taste is not different than ordinary good bagel places.
Sayali M — Google review
This is the best bagel in the country. It’s priced at an extra premium. The downer during our visit was 1 cm to 1 inch of cream cheese on all our bagels. I get it is decadent, but there is such a thing as too much of a good thing. The customer then needs to do this inevitably messy surgery on the bagel getting cream cheese everywhere.
John G — Google review
Bagel and cream cheese isn't comparable to popular spots in New York. Also, it's not toasty enough even after asking them to toast them twice (crunch inside wasn't even formed). Instead of selling frozen bagels at supermarkets, please just focus on making your bagel better.

Wildseed is a 100% vegan restaurant located in Town & Country Village, with its original location in San Francisco. The menu features an earthy, umami-packed burger made with a mushroom-based patty and topped with sweet grilled onions, as well as salads, flatbreads, and mezze plates. The restaurant also offers a full bar for refreshing drinks.
One of the BEST vegan restaurants I’ve been to so far—and we’ve tried many.. The Mezze platter was honestly so mouth watering good (the winner was the vegan cheese!!!) The hamburger was nostalgic and the cheesecake was way different than I was expecting!! I want to try the vegan chocolate chip cookie next time :) The outdoor seating was also a plus! A little chilly in the shade in May, but can you imagine how nice it’ll be in the summer? 😍
Allie W — Google review
Wildseed is a pretty nice, fairly upscale vegan/vegetarian spot. I didn't realize it was vegetarian until I arrived, but still thoroughly enjoyed my meal, regardless. It's probably not a place I will revisit frequently, but I was quite impressed. The staff were very nice and friendly, the restaurant itself is quite nice, and the food was delicious, even if it isn't my normal thing. I was especially surprised by the chilled vegetables and humus. Somehow they made the vegetables delightfully salty. I quite enjoyed it. If you are looking for a solid spot, with vegetarian options, Wildseed is a great choice.

Wildseed has become one of our favorite restaurants. Wildseed is all Vegan and it's not your neighborhood vegan namesake. Most of the dishes are actually delectable and sumptuous (read Yum!). We have had and I would highly recommend their - Mezze Plate, Mexican Corn Fritters, Mediterranean Veggie Burger and the various salads. Oh! And their menu is seasonal and the ingredients are fresh, which is felt right from the first bite till the last. They have a good cocktail and dessert menu as well.

Phenomenal experience. The food is excellent and delicious! The staff is so amazing, they go above and beyond, so nice! We tried the happy hour menu today! Highly recommend the "meat" balls are one of the best things that I have ever tasted. Sooo good! They have them in the spaghetti 🍝 on the main menu, easily my favorite dish. Their charcoal lemonade is also one of my all time favorite drinks!

Charming vegan restaurant with delicious food and excellent service! Food: They have limited menu for hours of the day, but they sure are tasty. We had the Fries with different sauces which were absolutely delicious, every sauce is a different experience. We shared the jackfruit pizza which melts off the crust. The basil gave it extra kick. Both dishes are good to share between 2 people. Service: Our servers were friendly, very knowledgeable about menu, and made great recommendations. Ambiance: Available outside seating is recommended. Nice, fenced and cool under the tree. Inside seating also available. Value: Bit pricy but were reasonable for the quality of food and service.

Probably not as healthy as a good ol' salad, but certainly healthy enough 😄 The starter came out pretty quickly (10 minutes after I sat down), but the main course took a little long (about 35 minutes after I sat down), though it was a busy Friday evening at 7pm, so it's understandable.

Amazing place to grab brunch in a nice location - the menu is all vegan. I ordered Oklahoma Smash Burger and liked it very much, would definitely recommend. There is a free parking lot which is pretty big but it gets super busy during weekends, just something to keep in mind.

This vegetarian restaurant is truly excellent and highly recommended. The place is beautiful, the service is efficient, and the food is consistently tasty with perfectly sized portions. The only drawback is the atmosphere: it is excessively noisy inside, making conversation difficult. A fantastic dining experience, but be prepared for the high noise level!

Hot dog restaurant
American restaurant
While strolling through the Stanford shopping center, I felt a pang of hunger and opted for Gourmet Franks, an unpretentious eatery. The staff was remarkably pleasant as I ordered a bratwurst with sauerkraut and received my food promptly. Despite its location in the upscale shopping center, the prices were somewhat steep for what was offered. The portions were rather small, more akin to a snack than a full meal.
If you're in the mood for some classic comfort food, you can't go wrong with a good old-fashioned hot dog. And if you happen to be in the area, there's no better place to get your fix than at the local hot dog stand. From the moment you arrive, you'll be greeted with the mouthwatering aroma of sizzling hot dogs and the sound of happy customers chowing down on their tasty treats. The menu is simple but satisfying, with a range of classic hot dogs and toppings to choose from. Whether you prefer your hot dog with ketchup and mustard or loaded up with onions, relish, and cheese, you'll find plenty of options to satisfy your cravings. And with affordable prices and quick service, it's the perfect spot for a quick lunch or snack on the go. So don't let the simplicity of a hot dog stand fool you. Sometimes, the most delicious meals are the ones that bring back memories of carefree summer days and childhood nostalgia. Head over to the local hot dog stand and enjoy a delicious hot dog today!

Was walking around the Stanford shopping center and got hungry. Didn't feel like sitting down at a real restaurant so decided to try this place. It is a very unassuming little shop, but the staff is extremely friendly. I ordered the bratwurst with sauerkraut, and got my food pretty quickly after. I know it's the Stanford shopping center but the food was still a bit pricey for what I got. Portion size is pretty small so it's more like a snack. The bratwurst and a drink (plus tip/tax) came up to more than $18. The food itself is decent, no complaints there. I may come again if I have any cravings, but otherwise may try one of the other eateries around.

Food is always great. Quite a wait since only 1 person working there. It was a little confusing to pay after but I hadn't been there for awhile.

Support this shop! All the reviews talking about the owner/person behind the counter must be lying. I went there today, and this man was the most cheerful, sweet, and funny person working at this mall. The foods great but I'd come back just to check in on that man running the store. I'm begging everyone to give this place a try at least once.

Small shop, good for grabbing a quick bite to go. I had the Polish and was very tasty. The sausages are fried, and the buns are warmed on the grill (giving it a nice crunch). Won't get stuffed on a single order, but enough to keep you going. Not cheap, which I guess is to be expected at this mall.

Excellent tasty magnum dogs. Great assortment of toppings. Love the chile fries with cheddar cheese.
Maria L — Google review
Initially I thought the name "Gourmet" was a joke after seeing my meal. My "hot dog" had the texture and consistency of cardboard. Additionally, the bun was at least twice as long as the "hot dog" itself. The meal was just genuinely bad. Even if they had gotten my order correct, it wouldn't have made a difference. Please save yourself the time and money, stay away from this place. They managed to ruin one of the easiest things to make. I didn't know it was possible but they did.
Jeffrey N — Google review
Ordered the spicy links frank. The menu picture shows it with fried peppers and onions, but they don't serve them that way. Ours was plain, and she never even offered. The ingredients that you can put on top are on the side of the register and look less appetizing than 7/11's offering. Extremely misleading store name. Pretty sure everything is store bought/frozen. Not to say I wanted everything homemade for the price, but a hotdog, fries and a drink was $15. Definitely not worth the price or quality.

Italian restaurant
Restaurant
Il Fornaio is an upscale Italian restaurant chain known for its freshly made pasta and bread from an in-house bakery. The restaurant offers a spacious dining area with a large capacity to accommodate many guests, including a lovely outdoor patio. Customers have praised the delicious classic Italian dishes, particularly the seafood pasta and pizza. The service has been described as excellent, with attentive staff even during busy times. Additionally, ample nearby parking makes it convenient for visitors to dine at this establishment.
I went with a group of coworkers to Il Fornaio in Palo Alto. We got a table right away and seated in the cute outdoor area. They have outdoor patio heater so it’s quite comfortable. We ordered some appetizers like Calamaretti Fritti, Cavolfiori, Polipo Con Patate. All are very on point and delicious! For the entree, I got an Gamberoni E Capesante. The portion is enough for one person, not too much or too little. It’s also very flavorful and the sauce is so good. Overall I enjoy our time at the restaurant and definitely will come back with my family

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Definitely give the pollo toscano and fried calamari a try. The chicken was tender and the seasoning was just right. The fried calamari was quite perfect as it had a light and crispy coating, adding a satisfying crunch without overpowering the flavour of the squid. The gnocchi was delicious, but a bit too saucy for my taste, which made the dish feel a bit heavy. I would have preferred a lighter coating to let the gnocchi shine more. Overall, this is a lovely spot in Palo Alto as it offers a cozy and relaxed ambiance. I’d be open to try different locations as well!

I came here hoping for a cozy Italian dinner and left pretty satisfied. The pasta was fresh and cooked just right, and the focaccia they bring out before the meal? Totally addictive. I will say the portions are on the smaller side for the price, and the service felt a bit rushed, like they were trying to turn tables quickly. Still, the setting was beautiful—dim lighting, white tablecloths, and that romantic vibe that makes you feel like you’re somewhere special

Il Fornaio in Palo Alto has been one of my favorites and it did not disappoint. We shared an antipasto platter and I had the Salmon which was crispy on the outside and moist and came with garlic spinach and roasted potatoes. A good lunch

The picture should say enough but this was extremely bland. If I wasn’t driving back to Marina I certainly would have asked for a refund. It was supposed to be my lunch for the following day but ended up in the basura. I had the lasagna as well. That I was able to stomach but I was not impressed by that either but the presentation was much nicer. Sorry no photo.

Il Fornaio ("the baker") has been a standard establishment in downtown PA. Given it is a chain, there may be some standard pricing in place but I can attest that based on the time spent during the experience, it is absurdly "cheap". Every other location of this caliber, especially in terms of atmosphere, in downtown PA is perhaps 50% more expensive. So kudos there. Unfortunately, the food is where this Italian baker falls apart. Given the name itself is "the baker", I have to say that the fresh bread brought out with olive oil is fantastic. But that's where the goodness ends. The carpaccio is as dry as a jerky with absolutely no soul. This may have been prepared ahead of time and left in the fridge for hours or days. The bolognese tagliatelle looked great, but lacked the depth in flavor. The tomato sauce was watery and the beat was thin. The seafood spaghetti was perhaps the most acceptable but came across bland. Just because you have all the ingredients in the recipe, if you put it together thoughtlessly without passion, this is what you get. Both pastas were salvaged to edible levels by the parmesan grated on top. The food lacks fresh ingredients, passion and soul, and is barely above the factory created food grade. However, we still give Il Fornaio 3 stars because there really is no other place like this in downtown PA. Stanford students can absolutely afford a date here. A family can eat out without breaking the bank. And yes, you can dress up. But just got for baked goods. Also, we had a lady server that was quite old in age. We have nothing against age except she was walking at a step per minute. Service thus was extremely slow and spotty despite us seated in the main corridor. I'm sure this was contained to that one individual server.
Wook C — Google review
We took the patio table and the weather and ambiance was perfect. Plenty of options for vegetarians and for those on low carb diet. I loved the minestrone soup and the caprese. Bruschetta was good too. Only 4 stars because of the service, we got different toppings than what we had asked for and we did not have time to make them do it all over again so we just ate what they gave. We noticed our waiter was not writing down the order and instead asked us few times what else we had ordered. Also when we entered the indoors had a strong smell of something meat because of which we preferred sitting outside. Also the women’s toilet there was water all over the floor in 2 stall, so if you are wearing wide leg pants be aware.

I’ve enjoyed a wonderful dinner with my lover😍 Foods are good here and the service is also sweet. One of my favorite is the pizza, so amazing! Seafood pasta recommend to those who like seafood, it is delicious. There is a parking pot behind the restaurant, and the space In restaurant is large and we can clear see how chief cook our food. Overall is great, I will come back again. If the information is helpful to you, please give a like thanks😁😁

Shoreline Amphitheatre is a popular outdoor music venue located in San Jose, California. It was built as part of the Shoreline Park project and has a capacity of 22,500 people, including 6,500 reserved seats and a large grass lawn accommodating up to 16,000 guests. The amphitheater has hosted numerous renowned artists and bands over the years and is also known for hosting various music festivals such as Lollapalooza and Country Throwdown Tour.
Visited Shoreline Amphitheatre for Google I/O 2025, and I must say – what an incredible experience! The venue itself is iconic, nestled in the heart of Mountain View with a scenic backdrop and a layout that blends open-air energy with solid organization. From the moment I entered, the staff and volunteers ensured everything was smooth – quick check-ins, clear signage, and a great flow of people. The open lawn seating offered a relaxed vibe, while the structured seating closer to the stage made it easy to focus during keynotes and product announcements. The sound and visuals were top-notch, as you’d expect from a tech giant’s annual developer conference. Despite hosting thousands of attendees, the space never felt overwhelming – there’s something magical about the combination of cutting-edge innovation and fresh California air. Bonus points for food trucks, chill zones, and interactive booths around the venue. Google really knows how to use every inch of Shoreline to deliver both inspiration and comfort. Whether you’re here for a concert or a conference like Google I/O, Shoreline Amphitheatre is a venue that delivers the full experience – energy, views, vibe, and functionality all in one.

It’s a great place to see a concert. My only recommendation is to get there as soon as you can because - as usual for the Bay Area - traffic to get to the parking lots becomes a bit of a mess - tho the parking lot attendants are pros and friendly - and they do a good job managing traffic - you still have to wait for all the cars to move as the streets can only handle so much traffic
Mark H — Google review
The venue is super nice and the food options along with food trucks is pretty good. Staff is helpful and there are plenty to help with directions as well as plenty of security. I was surprised with the amount of leg room - it was enough to dance in without falling 😂. I would arrive early, read the subreddit on the venue. I purchased easy-out parking. It has a dedicated lane and I was out in 10 min. There is a free option with Lot E that was open at 4pm where there is a back exit but I did not want to risk it and end up in the exit crush.

Great venue. Lower seating is surrounded by an upper grassy area. Entrances and exits easy to find. There is free parking. Getting out can be a challenge. Patience or strategic ninja driving will be rewarded there. Sound quality at the stage is good, plenty of big screens to watch the show if watching from the grass. Lots of food choices.

Saw Cyndi Lauper’s Farewell Tour and she was AMAZING!!! First time at this venue it was beautiful. No wait to enter venue. Parking was a little crazy long lines. Took 40 minutes to finally get parked. So glad I had sprung for the premium reserved parking, well worth it!!! Hey I even got to see a picture of the Queen of Rock and Roll Tina Turner when she played there in 1997!!!

Was there on Sat 30th August 2025 to see my favourites Jimmy Eat World, NFG and The Offspring. Liked the venue, friendly staff, was around 460m walk from the rideshare pick up/drop off to the entrance of the venue. Lots of toilets, was kept clean throughout the gig, fast moving lines…had a seat in section 102, fifth row from the front, great views, initially I was disappointed there wasn’t a pit, but there was lots of room at your seat so can still jump around etc! I had ordered a clear rucksack from Amazon, was only 9 usd total which was good! Can’t comment on the food and drinks, as I didn’t buy any. Lots of refillable water stations. I left the gig just after 10pm, as I had to get back to SFO airport, but I can I can imagine that if you parked at the venue, and stayed right till the end, the waiting lines to exit would likely be hours long. I think if I had a car, I’d probably find alternate parking somewhere in the area, and just walk to the venue. Definitely recommend!

Nestled within the picturesque Shoreline Regional Park, the Shoreline Lake Boathouse is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. This scenic locale offers an array of activities such as biking, hiking, jogging, and bird-watching amidst stunning natural beauty. Established in 1983 by Mountain View City, it features a serene 50-acre saltwater lake that invites visitors to engage in watersports like kayaking and sailing.
I recently completed my sailing test and I owe a massive debt of gratitude to my instructor, Chris. Not only did he guide me through all the necessary skills and knowledge to meet the sailing requirements, but more importantly, he helped me cultivate a genuine sense of confidence on the water. I was particularly apprehensive about hiking among other things. However, Chris's endless patience and remarkable ability to teach with such clarity completely transformed my perspective. I no longer fear the heeling and in fact, I'm starting to enjoy it and have taken my wife out on the boat. Chris is more than just a technically proficient instructor. His passion for sailing shown in his racing career is contagious, and his genuine care for his students' progress is evident in every lesson. Beyond Chris, I also want to give a shoutout to the wonderful staff at the boathouse. They are always ready to lend a hand, offer helpful advice, and create a welcoming atmosphere. Special thanks to Brent and Raphael for their friendly support and willingness to assist whenever needed.

Amazing spot for outdoor activities! The lake has beautiful trails for biking, walking, or running, and you can also rent kayaks or just relax by the water. There’s a nice lake house with coffee and snacks too. Important tip: The entrance gate closes exactly at sunset, and the boathouse is about 1.2 miles from the entrance. The Google Android Statues Square is a compact square featuring colorful mascots representing different versions of the Android mobile operating system. Each time Google releases a new version, they add a statue to the lawn in front of the Android development teams building, with each statue representing the codename for that particular system, always named after a sweet treat.
This place is small but quite cute and interesting especially if you are with kids. It made me hungry walking around so many yummy looking statues :) It's in the middle of the Google campus which is as big as a small city :) and cute to see all the colorful Google bikes there too. Not sure what the campers were around there - maybe the homeless crisis hit that area too or people just prefer to live by their office in a camper/RV :)
Mariana J — Google review
As a Google and Android fan, I was excited to check this out. The area was a bit surprising. It's on a part Google's campus that you definitely wouldn't expect a tech company to be. It seems like they converted old rundown apartments into office space. All of that aside, the Android dessert statues were fun. It's a small area. It's easy to get some pictures with your favorite Android desserts. The most disappointing part was that they weren't maintained. Many of them had chunks taken out of them or paint peeling off. It's right next to the Google Merchandise store and a quick stop for both of them.
Jacqueline T — Google review
The photos online make it look amazing. It is not anymore, sadly. The statues are broken down, faded, and ruined with masks. I'm still (mostly) glad I saw it, but I won't be going back unless I see online that it's been updated. I thought the area they were in would be bigger too. With all of Google's money, you'd think they could keep their sculptures nice looking. Google maps didn't navigate you to it well either. Oh and the whole area is roped off.
Jessica A — Google review
I enjoyed visiting the Google Android Lawn Statue Park! The statues, although slightly weathered, were adorable and fun to snap pictures of! The park is pretty small, and can be viewed quickly if you only have a few minutes. Parking was free, and it easy to find a spot on a Saturday morning. I definitely recommend stopping by, especially if you have young kids.

BEAUTIFUL!!! Everyone was cheerful, had great attitudes , very friendly. This facility is so Huge. I would love to get to actually go inside and get a tour. And it's only getting bigger. They have people letting you know where to go, how to get back if you get lost. And the diversity of cultures. Man that's WONDERFUL. Hopefully I can get a chance to get a tour.
Steven A — Google review
Badly maintained. You can see the paint peeling off of many statues. Reportedly, Google moved these statues from all over the campus to this single place for better tourist crowd control. Also there was no nougat ( 6.0 ) or the latest pie ( 9.0 ) as of May 2019. The latest one was Oreo (8.0), if you wanna take pic next to it. Honeycomb looked interesting. But definitely lower your expectations before visiting. Update: Separate Android pie and Oreo statues are present in other places.
Vignesh M — Google review
If you are an Android Fan you can take some great pictures here with the different Android Statues. The park is also conveniently located right next to the Google merchandise store. Location of the park is a bit of shame, feels like it is shoved into small corner of the campus right next to freeway. Also some of the statues could use a bit of TLC - some repair and another lick of paint.
Helena G — Google review
Nice small space to check out some of the android robots and the app/iOS systems they run on. Lollipop, marshmallow, jellybean and more. Kids and adults seem to love it equally lol. The Google merchandise store is around the corner too, the weird thing about this place is the Google visitor center is only open to Google employees and not actual visitors...

While much of this expansive campus is reserved for employees, visitors can still enjoy public areas, including the iconic Android lawn statues that represent various versions of Google's mobile operating systems. So disapointed! Everywhere in the internet is marked that there is a Google Store (similar to Apple) but no, here is absolutely nothing for public - even the water in the public toilet did not work. Horrible treatment. Person at googleplex out of the blue told me: HEY MA’AM - YOU CANNOT GO INTO ANY BUILDING. Then I asked, can I use the bikes to explore around? He said, NO! So I asked, so just walk? He said, NO! JUST WALK OUTSIDE. HAVE A NICE DAY. Umm what?.. I felt attacked. He was so rude. No idea why. There was a shop but security told me that it was not open to the public. Waste of time. Not much to see. Just a couple of statues and some geese eating grass.

Fun corporate HQ to visit. Set across lots of buildings and well prepared for tourists. Would be nice to have a shop open all week. A 'visitor' shop had loads of signs making it clear a member of staff was required to enter. The Android sculpture garden is pointless so don't bother. If you're prepared to bend the rules they're unlocked bikes to ride around.

Visitors are invited to wander through the colorful blooms and themed gardens at their leisure.
Excellent variety of plants with real edible vegetables and fruits and berries, it's free and very well maintained and wide variety and many plants to see, but not what you would see or the size you walk when you pay the 40 bucks for the other garden not far away.

I was looking online about this garden. Honestly, I thought that it’s going to be very big based on the map, but it’s just a medium-sized garden with a house. I think that this garden has been here for decades and workers took very care of that garden. There weren’t many people visiting this garden probably because I came here on Monday, but there were pretty nice gardens and flowers to look at. It also has a green house and a two-story house I believe. Idk if anyone lives inside that house with a garden, but probably the Gamble family has been living there for a while. Otherwise, it’s most likely an office, museum, or used for something else like a preservation. I wanted to stop by here since I like going to gardens and taking pictures of plants and nature. Honestly, there wasn’t really much here since the garden isn’t really big, but it’s still a nice place though.

Mid-Sept 2025 First time visit to these gorgeous gardens. My favorites are the dahlias. The whimsical bunny topiary is so fun too! I didn't enter the buildings, simply walked around the gardens on a warm weekend afternoon. We will be back soon. Maybe I will not wear sandals next time - I ended up with itchy ankles after my daytime visit. Plenty of street parking; however there is a parking lot on the premises.

This is a true gem in the Palo Alto neighborhood off of Embarcadero! The Gamble family would be proud to see the property open free to the public/7 Days a week. A nice variety of flowering plants, shrubs, and trees. A must visit if you are in the area. Parking can be limited during busy times. The all volunteer PA Garden Club does a great job to maintain the gardens.

It's just a small garden in PA neighborhood! We stopped by there in middle September, garden has little flowers to show off! If you are visitors from other towns, you may skip it to save time for other interesting places in PA

Beautiful, serene, zen, and FREE! This is one of the many beauties of Palo Alto. I will certainly return to relax, meditate, or read. The variety of flowers and plants are enough to keep you occupied and entertained. This is also a lovely area for photographic opportunities. Parking is free along the street. Please, be respectful and kind with no littering or doing any harm to the plants.

Pakistani restaurant
Zareen's is a small, casual eatery that puts a halal twist on traditional Indian and Pakistani cuisine. Located near Google's headquarters in Mountain View, it has become a favorite among tech workers and families alike. The restaurant offers a diverse menu with options for vegans, those avoiding gluten, and fans of the paleo diet. Customers can enjoy cumin-scented beef chapli kebabs served as burgers with mint chutney and masala-dusted fries.
Ordered chicken tikka masala a la carte, lamb gosht a la carte, and rice. The chicken was a very good choice, I can see why this is a popular staple. The lamb gosht is also quite nice if you’re a fan of lamb. The rice was very fragrant and paired well with the curries. This meal was very great. We could not help wonder if the experience would have been better with in person dining. All orders are made online or via their QR code online. There is no in store seating, it's all pick up orders in to-go containers and paper plates. There is some seating outside and under a nearby tent but the experience is largely informal. Parking here is adequate, there are enough spaces to handle the lunch rush of customers.

This was a small take out spot . We found some seating outside . I heard a lot of good reviews about this place from word of mouth. So I was were excited to try ! Ordered palak paneer , samosas , biryani and chicken tikka masala . I think everything was mediocre but the samosas were bomb ! I would not order the palak paneer again . The chicken tikka masala was decent and biryani okay . Service was good and food didn’t take that long to come out though . I don’t recommend the thali .

We like Pakistani food. This place serves great dishes. Approximately 6 months ago I got sick consuming this places food. Very upset and runny stomach for days. That night was really bad but slowly I got better. Yesterday I thought I give them another chance. This time avoiding fresh vegetables. First bite of my food and there was a big piece of egg shell in it. Ok perhaps it’s there accidentally. Second bite and bigger piece of egg shell. Losing my appetite the waiter offered to replace it. They did and since I was hungry , I ate it. All night up with same issue. Had to take medication to suppress the problem. Unfortunately they lost my business

I was in the area a needed something quick. I didn't realize until I got there that Zareens is now take away only. There's plenty of seating near the parking lot. I ordered the Punjab Chicken Burger. The flavor was good but the patty seemed to be a premade, frozen patty. The flavor was just sauce, the patty was boring. Maybe I ordered the wrong item. There were a lot of patrons so it might have better options. I'm willing to try again.

10/10 food.. I highly recommend the CTM (chicken tikka masala)… it is the best I’ve ever had in the Bay Area if I’m being honest. I recommend it with garlic naan. Parking situation good/free, and the location is a great place to walk around after eating. Mango lessi is also quite scrumptious. I do NOT recommend the zinger however.
Morsi M — Google review
just ridiculous simply put. this is the third time i’ve tried the chicken sandwich and it’s just so balanced. i’ve seen a lot of places price gouge just to serve such mid food. this place is completely different, utmost respect to the owner and his integrity.

Visited after 4-5 years and everything is changed. They used to have indoor seating with nice painted walls and now they just serve pickup orders. Food was okay and not like it used to be. Missing the experience to dine in. The chicken boti sizzler and shami kabab were good.

I love their Mango Lasi, it was very delicious. It is outdoor seating, no indoor seating. Service was great. Ambiance is outdoor so it is ok.

Spanish restaurant
Telefèric Barcelona Palo Alto, located in the Town and Country shopping center, is part of the renowned Barcelona restaurant group. The restaurant offers a variety of Catalonian specialties such as pintxos, paellas, and delicate croquettes filled with Iberian ham. The vibrant atmosphere adds to the dining experience, where guests can enjoy dishes like Spanish bread with chorizo butter and gazpacho-kissed oysters served in a bowl engulfed with smoke.
Great service, food, and drinks! Amazing paella. We showed up in a big group without a reservation, and the team did everything to accommodate us; that speaks very well about the team! The food was delicious and a good price. The octopus and the croquetas were my highlights.
Álvaro C — Google review
Not going to burry the lead here…. I wasn’t blown away. The best part of the meal was the Brussels sprouts. Everything else left me wanting more and kind of was lack luster. It was a good experience with service though. Some of the best service I have had dining in a while. But the food was mediocre. We ordered the papa Fritas, the croquettes, and waygu empanadas, and Brussels sprouts as appetizers. They came out as they were ready so hot and not all at once. None of them tasted bad by any means. I just can’t tell you they were memorable. For our main entree we ordered paella. We got the prawn, octopus, pork, and chicken one. This was a let down. We asked for it the crispy way and it wasn’t super crispy. But the worst part was the chicken. It was so dry. I don’t think you will go and have a bad time here. It’s food. It’s Spanish. It’s different. I personally wouldn’t go back though.

I love this place! Been here both of my last work trips out here and it’s so good I’ll be back next t time too. Cocktails are delicious, the bartenders are lots of fun to talk to and they know a lot. The food is really something special! * Spanish Albondigas- well made meatballs w Manchego and ham carbonara - delicious * Tuna Tacos - special - perfect shell with fresh avocado and plenty of tuna make these bites shine * Grilled Salmon - what a simple description for an amazingly well executed dish! The salmon is perfectly cooked (may look rare to some of y’all but trust me, it’s perfect) with a golden crust from well executed searing served on a bed of whipped cauliflower then topped with crisp Iberian ham (think bacon, but better) and snap peas. This dish is splendid and I’ve had it on both visits Also, great ambiance with a bustle, nice “uniforms”, structured levels - really fun place and there is a small front patio Go give Teleferic Barcelona a try - bring a friend as it’s more fun to share dishes!

The service and the food was absolutely fantastic. I'm a paella lover and the Paella Mixta with Socarrat was amazing. One of the best we have tasted in California. The shrimps were super fresh and tasty. The servers were extremely attentive. One of the best things I liked was that all of them were bilingual and very kindly spoke to us in Spanish and although they were extremely busy they were always smiling! The place was packed since we visited on a Saturday night and the vibe was vibrant.

My husband and I walked into the Palo Alto location for lunch on a hot June afternoon while our kid was preparing to compete at Stanford Stadium, across the street. With numerous large parties in the main dining room, we were given the choice between the shaded patio and the air conditioned bar. We opted for the AC, but would have enjoyed the patio just 10⁰ cooler. Marco greeted us as we sat with the option of still or sparkling water. A recent Barcelona transplant, he warmly walked us through the menu after confirming we had not visited the restaurant before. 10/10 Ubaldo was our bartenderfriendly and knowledgeable bartender. His service was impeccable and his suggestions were perfectly in line with our preferences. 10/10 We landed on the virgin sangria, Tuna Tacos, Pulpo Telefèric, and Bruselas. The plates were small, but the portions were perfect for the two of us. The Sangria was cool and refreshing in the heat, though I would have enjoyed more depth. It was certainly more complex than the mere juice cocktail typical of an alcohol free sangria. 8/10 The Tuna Tacos were made up of marinated ahi and mashed avocado in a fried wonton shell with dollops of garlic aioli and spicy mayo. They were served with a lime wedge, and through delicious on their own, the tang of the freshly squeezed lime elevated them to the perfect flavor bombs. 10/10 The Pulpo Telefèric was a grilled galacian octopus tentacle on a puddle of potato pureé flavored with pimentón and truffle oil. The octopus was cooked to succulent perfection, but we found the potato pureé lacking in flavor when compared with the tacos. 8/10 The Bruselas were large, halved Brussels sprouts roasted in basil oil and lemon-honey glaze, topped with manchego foam and pumpkin seeds. The flavors were perfect, but we found that the sprouts were slightly undercooked for their size. The crispy bits were perfect, but the large heads would have benefited from additional caramelization and softness. 8/10 This is not a restaurant to wonder into while struggling financially. The plates range from $10-$120 and an automatic 20% gratuity is added to every bill. We were surprised that the three small plates completely satisfied us and we left at just under $100. The food and service is worth every penny and we highly recommend a visit to either the Palo Alto or Walnut Creek location. 9/10

Trendy, hip spot for a gathering with family or friends. Tapas were decent and brought back fond memories of Barcelona, but the star of the show was definitely the paella. Don’t miss out on the Paella Negra! Drinks were also good. Fast and efficient service. Parking can be tricky as the parking lot is shared with several other businesses in the shopping plaza.
Wei-Ai T — Google review
The paella is the star of this restaurant! The seafood and squid ink ones are the best (don’t recommend the limited menu steak one). Pro tip: ask for crispy bottom! My favorite tapas is the potatoes. The squid and croquettes are alright. The sangria is also really pretty but the taste can differ depending on the bartender (stronger alcohol vs lighter). Honestly one of the top Spanish restaurants I’ve had!
Cai — Google review
Really enjoyed the squid ink paella and Brussels sprouts, truly the highlights of the meal. The tuna taco and patatas bravas were just okay, and the wagyu empanadas were disappointing. Overall, still a solid spot with great atmosphere.

Mexican restaurant
LuLu's Town & Country Village is a branch of a local chain that offers traditional Mexican cuisine and has outdoor seating in a casual setting. The service was efficient and amiable. The chicken tortilla soup had a rich taste but lacked an adequate amount of vegetables. The tamales were delectably moist, with the vegetarian option being particularly flavorful. Despite some less impressive older staff members, the food at LuLu's is exceptional if you don't mind the higher prices.
Edit: was refunded! Thanks so much, appreciate it. My takeout order was wrong. Order a burrito with chicken and got a veggie bowl. Frustrating but wasn't about to drive the 40 mins back. Paying $16 for beans, avocado, and yoghurt is pretty disappointing. Receipt confirms my order should've had chicken.

Food is great, I love their spicy red sauce! Avoid lunch time during school days it's too busy. Food is great, I love their burrito bowls. They have nice seating outside with umbrellas.

Had the Taco Salad for lunch, which was very good. A little bummed no indoor seating, still enjoyable sitting outside and enjoying the food.

Lulu's is our go-to spot for our "taco" Tuesdays (even though I normally get a burrito instead of tacos). I am a simple creature and find great comfort in a really good bean & cheese burrito. My favorite spot is down in LA and Lulu's is the first place in Northern California that has been consistently delectable. Their green salsa is great too! Yum. I've had their enchiladas and nachos too and have never been disappointed. Service is polite and as efficient as possible.

I was really pleasantly surprised. I live in San Jose. Shopping with a friend came upon LuLu's in Palo Alto. Had the chili relleno burrito it was very very good. Looked around at other people's orders and everyone had a big smile.

Regularly dine here for their veggie chopped salad . Always fresh and crunchy with a delicious Green Goddess kind of dressing . Ordered veggie tacos which were good bang for the bucks. Another family member loved the chimichanga. Recommend this for a budget friendly Mexican meals .

Usually eat at Lulu’s on the Alameda but had an errand at Town and Country and stopped by to have a Jalapeño and Cheese Burrito with Cilantro rice and Black beans and hot sauce. Surprisingly Town And Country was not crowded with Paly High School kids at noon today. Fresh Mex is how Lulu’s got famous and popular

For day 3, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Byxbee Park. Museums
Non-profit organization
Nestled in Mountain View, the Computer History Museum is a treasure trove for anyone fascinated by the evolution of technology. Just a stone's throw from San Jose, this museum offers an engaging exploration of computing's past and its profound influence on our world today. With an impressive array of artifacts and interactive displays, visitors can encounter groundbreaking machines like the ENIAC and discover the stories behind industry pioneers who have shaped our digital landscape.
This is a must see place for people who are interested in technology. The place is conveniently located near google main office complex. You can see the complete history of how computers were invented and their progression to new generation computers. There is a section on robotics which I liked the most. The place also has a coffee shop and a store that sells souvenirs and apparel’s specifically made by them. On weekends sometimes you may see some free entries for specific company employees and families, so please check if you are from a company that is offering a free entry on a specific day or weekend.
Vikas M — Google review
The ticket are cheaper if you do a donation on the website. I was happy with the museum, the story of computer development comes from counting and measuring systems and moves slowly to counting and first codes and decoding and moves to devices. I would bring kids in different ages, but go through museum together, so they will see the full timeline.
Kira C — Google review
The computer history museum is a must visit for anyone that uses a computer. That’s everyone! Seriously, if you haven’t been and you live in the area, make the time— the “revolution” exhibit alone will take the entire day and if you go on the correct day, you can have the pleasure of seeing the PDP-1 come to life. They turn on the IBM 1401 daily and will print you a fun memento on a 1402. Check the times for guided tours, you will not be disappointed! The docent are amazing and passionate. Still not sold check their calendar. They have regular events called “tech fest” the most recent of which was 90s themed and they brought out the museum of art and digital entertainment from Oakland for playable 90s video games. There was even a 90s dance party on the lawn complete with Skip-it and all the 90s jams. Plan a visit and learn something new about the tools that surround us and power our modern lives!
Mason Y — Google review
If you care at all about where modern computing came from, this is a must-visit. The Computer History Museum offers a near-encyclopedic sweep of computing’s evolution — from abacuses and early mechanical calculators to mainframes, personal computers, software milestones, and beyond. The artifacts are real, many rare, with detailed context. The storylines are well-curated: hardware, software, social impact, all woven together. Highlights: the IBM 1401, the Babbage Difference Engine, classic gaming and electronics, well-done interactive displays. Staff are knowledgeable and engaging; docented tours add depth. The layout gives space to breathe, read, reflect — not just dash through. Some caveats: Exhibits are often text-heavy; if you’re not already interested you may find yourself skimming. Also, to truly absorb everything — you need at least 3-4 hours, more if you want to dive deep. Overall: it delivers serious educational and aesthetic value. Worth every minute and every dollar.
Olga N — Google review
It was way more interesting than I thought. Even my kids enjoyed it. Definitely has a wealth of information as well as interactive displays. I was only able to see half the museum in two hours. I went two hours before closing. Wish I had gone earlier in the day.
Zaigham A — Google review
Best field trip ever thanks to Jesse and Steve! I took my class of graduate students and our minds were blown away by the amazing collection that they have. Highly recommend booking a docent tour or going on one of their public tours to better understand the historical significance of everything that you’re seeing!
Pia Z — Google review
The Computer History Museum is a fascinating journey through the evolution of technology — from the earliest calculating devices to the breakthroughs shaping our digital future. It’s inspiring to stand inches away from legendary machines, rare prototypes, and artifacts that changed the world. A must-visit in Silicon Valley.

It's all about how the Silicon Valley started and how it progressed over the years till now. Journey of computers progress starting from year 1930 to present day AI based computers. It's divided into 18 sections + 2 additional sections outside the main entry. Every fee of 12$ is more than worth it. Knowledge and information you get there is exceptional. Children upto 7 age free entry. If you are really interested in computers history of progress then be ready to spend about 2-3 hours here. Inside you may not know how fast the time is tickling.

Nature & Parks
Byxbee Park, located within the Palo Alto Baylands Nature Preserve, is a picturesque destination for outdoor enthusiasts. The park offers sculpted earth and conceptual art, making it popular for birdwatching, cycling, and walking. Visitors can enjoy expansive spaces for dogs to run and play as well as panoramic views of the bay and rolling grasslands. With well-maintained trails suitable for all ages, it's an ideal spot for leisurely strolls or more challenging hikes.
Absolutely no shade. The park has long stretches of walking trails on top of small network of hillocks right by the backwaters. On hot days you have no shade - and the gravely top on the trails radiates heat. And the whole area can get breezy so not great for winters either. So pick your timing carefully. A few public art features (chevrons and the windwanes) are interesting. Big plus, you could sit there and watch the small planes land into the airport - nice past time for unplugged evenings. The chevrons, I think, are there to guide the planes into the airport, but that’s my theory.
Anil P — Google review
There is an airport for small planes so you can see plans a lot here and it felt close than I thought. The trail seems large and long to walk around. it was good to walk and you can bring your dog.

Byxbee Park a gem right next to the south bay with 360 degree views. The park is busier on weekends, parking is limited. There's a constant breeze on the top at anytime of the day.

This park is a wonderful place to spend time outdoors. It’s clean, well-maintained, and has plenty of space for walking, playing, or just relaxing. The trails and open areas are easy to navigate, and there are nice spots for picnics or enjoying nature. A peaceful and enjoyable place to visit.

This a great place in the Palo Alto bay area for a scenic walk around the bay. There are many options to vary your path on each visit and most of the trails are dog friendly! The plethora of birds created an amazing ambiance that made you want to just sit and relax. I would highly recommend bringing bug spray due to the water providing quite a bit of mosquitoes.
Tabor G — Google review
Can't believe this is made up on sanitary landfill territory. Great spot for jocking, walking, and bird watching. The space is clean and well-maintained with public bathroom and free parking space. We saw many types of birds here and loving the experiences. I think it was a very good place to come alone, enjoy the experience, the art, and reflect them back to yourself.
Mook P — Google review
Really great place for a nice long serene walk. Trails are mostly easy. Nice vistas and wild life. Lots of pelicans and other interesting birds. Would definitely recommend it for bird watchers. There are benches throughout the trails and you get really nice and peaceful views while sitting. Parking can be a little tricky however not very crowded during late afternoon. All in all a great park for long Sunday afternoon walks!

Mitchell Park in Palo Alto is a family-friendly destination offering a variety of recreational activities on its 21.4-acre grounds. From tennis and handball courts to horseshoe pits, playgrounds, and a splash pad, there's something for everyone. The park also features walking trails, bicycle trails, and a fenced dog run. Visitors can enjoy picnics or gatherings in the beautiful surroundings or spend quality time with family and friends.
Good park to relax and enjoy on the weekends. There are musicians playing songs and people exercise here. A lot of space and clean, well designed.

Large lush green park with multi sport grass and turf fields, tennis courts and a running track. There are also some bars for exercising. Located near the Cubberley Community Center it shares a large parking lot and there is some street parking. The restroom facilities are also well maintained. It’s frequently used for classes and soccer matches but has enough space for multiple teams to be playing at the same time.

We went to Mitchell Park on a Saturday and spent some wonderful time there. Magical Bridge Playground is truly one of the standout play areas in the area! Parents can relax in the shaded section equipped with benches and tables while their children explore the diverse range of attractions, including roller slides, steep slides, regular slides, and various spinning contraptions and swings. The park also offers amenities like artificial grass and cardboard pieces for sliding. Adjacent to the playground is a library, providing convenient access to bathrooms and a quiet spot for reading or decompressing. Ample parking makes it easy to access, and the park's spacious layout includes volleyball courts, a dedicated children's area, and plenty of open grassy spaces for picnics. During our visit, we encountered a vibrant mix of park-goers, from moms pushing strollers to high schoolers enjoying volleyball, and even dog walkers. Observing the diverse tapestry of life in the park was quite fascinating, highlighting the beauty of nature and community. Given the excellent weather and the park's natural charm, we're already planning our next visit. It's a wonderful place to celebrate the outdoors and everything nature has to offer.

We brought our dog from San Leandro to avoid the firework chaos. We were taking him to a dog-friendly park. To our surprise there was a community party going on with a musical group, food vendors, community wellness help tents, and games. The park was very clean and well maintained. There were portable toilets and brick and mortar restrooms. It was a pleasant surprise coming to Mitchell Park. We were also surprised they offered free water, but not sure if it was tap or filtered.

Observation Decks & Towers
Hoover Tower is a prominent feature of the Stanford College Campus, located in the California Bay Area. Standing at an impressive height of 285 feet, it boasts an observation deck and exhibits showcasing Hoover memorabilia. Although COVID restrictions may affect access to the tower, there are many other free art exhibits on campus for visitors to enjoy.
Mid Dec2024 Apart from its identity as a fixed campus landmark the tower is a repository of records from their work at the Hoover Institute. It can get very windy and cold up the tower during winter so dress appropriately. Paid public or student guest free access. Always make an effort to chat with the guides and ushers who are often alumni of the uni to get a different perspective as well as added history on the tower. Also check whether there are any exhibits in the two halls flanking the elevator entrance. Lastly, special sessions with the bell organ can be heard if you check the schedules. Definitely worth at least an hour of more to visit this iconic Stanford building.
Oliver P — Google review
Great way to see the Stanford University campus! The elevator takes you 285 feet up to the observation deck with absolutely stunning views. My guide was very friendly and knowledgeable, I especially enjoyed the story about Lou Henry, Stanford’s first female graduate in 1898, who later married fellow alum Herbert Hoover, the 31st President of the United States.
Oxana O — Google review
Hoover Tower at Stanford University is a striking landmark with rich history and fantastic views. We visited with family and took the elevator to the observation deck, where the panoramic view of the campus and surrounding areas was truly impressive. Inside, there are also exhibits related to the Hoover Institution’s archives and historical research. Tip: Entry is affordable, but hours can be limited—check in advance before visiting. The tower is a short walk from the Main Quad and makes for a great photo spot. A must-see for anyone touring the Stanford campus!

The exhibition galleries on either side of the entrance and the views at the top of the tower are very interesting and provide nice time to chill. The staff at the center are very friendly and helpful. I was so happy to meet and chat with Megan N at the information desk who, with so much of zeal, gave tons of information about the facility and provided guidance for my visit. Sreevidya at ticket counter was very courteous and helpful. On the whole, it’s a cool place to visit at the Stanford University.

A must if you’re in Stanford. I went with a friend who graduated from there and she was like “Man, how could I’ve missed this” hahaha. Beautiful views of the campus and on clear days you even see SF

It is great place to learn the history about Hoover Couple, their education, business and political life. You can pay $8 person to take elevator to the top of tower to take 360 degree view about the whole campus. Feel so good when you stand the high point to view the campus. Really impressed about it. Worthy to pay to do it. They also list the Watergate important inside story. Worthy to recommend friends to visit here.

Nature & Parks
The Arizona Garden, also known as the Cactus Garden, is a historical and picturesque park located on the grounds of Stanford University. Designed by landscape architect Rudolf Ulrich in the 1880s, it was once a popular meeting place for courting students. The garden features a diverse collection of cacti and succulents that resemble desert flora, creating a unique oasis within the forested campus.
The Arizona Garden at Stanford is a hidden gem and a perfect spot for a quiet escape. The garden features a beautiful collection of desert plants, including a wide variety of cacti and succulents, all carefully arranged and well-maintained. It’s peaceful, scenic, and a great place to take a walk, relax, or enjoy nature in a unique setting. Whether you’re a plant lover or just looking for a calm spot on campus, the Arizona Garden is definitely worth a visit. A wonderful blend of beauty, serenity, and natural design!

Spectacular garden. Short walk from a parking lot (permit only M-F until 4). A great spot to stop if you like succulents. Worth the drive from San Jose.
Andy K — Google review
Soooooo cool to see all of the cacti and succulents that are so varied and well taken care of. Wow. If you take the time to consider the growth and flowering of each plant, you will be entranced and marveled! Wow. Highly recommended. Visited TWICE on my one-day trip to Palo Alto!!!

The Arizona Cactus Garden at Stanford is such a hidden gem for family photos & engagements! Tucked away on campus, it feels extremely peaceful, and is always full of unique desert plants, winding paths; golden hour is phenomenal! As a photographer, I love how the natural textures and warm tones create a soft, earthy backdrop that flatters every skin tone. It’s especially great for engagements for those that are looking for a more desert-esque background in the Bay Area, since those can be hard to find here! The Garden is also extremely accessible for anyone with mobility issues; directly from the parking lot, there is a paved pathway leading straight to the garden (you can't miss it). Highly recommend this Garden for anyone hoping for a different vibe!

This location was absolutely perfect for our couple’s engagement session! With its wide, open spaces and diverse variety of cacti, it offers a unique and beautiful setting. The lighting here is stunning, making it an ideal spot for photos. It’s also easy to find and access, with a charming little stroll that’s worth exploring even outside of a session. We always love coming back here!

Italian restaurant
Vina Enoteca is a stylish Italian restaurant located near the Stanford campus, offering a respite of Italian authenticity in a striking 1800s barn. The menu features wood-fired pizzas and handmade pasta, including cacio e pepe and rabbit agnolotti. The bar serves elegant, Italian-influenced cocktails with local ingredients. With al fresco tables and private dining options, it's an ideal spot for a relaxing dining experience.
A lovely surprise coming here with my grandparents who used to come here when it was the Red Barn! It's become quite the nice Italian restaurant with a great bar and ample seating inside and outside. I'm now partial to the bar area because of the amazing waitress Maritza! She was so attentive and had great recommendations and has been there since the beginning. The drinks were great including the Bees knees and classic Negroni with a good variety in wine list. The pasta was the star - I had the cacio Pepe which was delicious and cheesy and my party was happy with their mushroom tortellini too. The pizza dough was on the slightly undercooked side which is how I like it and we got the one with sausage and pear (such a surprisingly good pairing!) will definitely be back!

I've been here over 5 times and have sampled almost everything on the menu. Unfortunately, this restaurant isn't what it used to be and quality has significantly declined over the past 3 years. I used to absolutely love the fresh pizzas and pastas here. My first two visits blew me away. Then I noticed the pizzas started tasting a bit less fresh. On my most recent visit, the margherita pizza was completely soggy, came with 3 small pieces of basil, and tasted pre-frozen. They have also removed the complimentary bread and EVOO that they used to serve in the beginning. I'm not sure if management has changed or if they're cutting costs by skimping on cheaper ingredients now, but I wouldn't recommend this restaurant anymore.

Always a lovely experience dining here, what with the peaceful ambiance and easy parking situation. We had an unwanted guest at one point (a wasp) & the staff immediately took action to move us inside. Not pictured was a delicious peach torta, consumed within seconds. Always look at the dessert menu :)

We saw this place months ago and have been excited to try it. After a couple failed reservations, we finally made it! The atmosphere outside was perfect due to the plants and lighting. From glancing at the menu it seemed overpriced. And it was. The food was good without a doubt, but i've had better pasta for less than $30+ for such a small portion size. And better house wine for less than $20 per glass. The small pour of cabernet had quite a but of sediment in the glass. However, the service was fantastic! Everyone was so kind and quick to assist with any need. In summary, it is a good place. Unfortunately, I just would not recommend, due to it being over priced. Again, I've had better pasta for less money and includes a larger portion size. It is rare that I eat a meal without left overs, but I ate the pasta and was still hungry, due to the inadequate portion size for over $30. It was a good experience, but will not go back.
Samantha A — Google review
The restaurant has a good atmosphere and friendly staff. Overall, the food is pretty good. I particularly enjoyed the mushroom pizza, with its perfectly crispy crust and fresh, flavorful mushrooms. The carpaccio was also excellent, featuring a well-balanced flavor with arugula, capers, a touch of cheese, and egg yolk. However, I wouldn't recommend the grilled octopus (Polipo d'Estate); despite the tasty sauce, the octopus itself was mediocre and had a rubbery texture, likely from being frozen too long. Overall, it's a pretty good place.

Vina Enoteca feels like stepping into a modern Roman trattoria—elegant, open, and full of soul. From the first bite to the last, everything here is intentional and elevated without ever being pretentious. We started with the Caesar salad, which came with an oil-based dressing and generous shavings of Parmesan—fresh, simple, and beautifully balanced. Then came the Fungi Pizza, with a blistered crust fresh out of their gorgeous oven, earthy mushrooms, and that unmistakable depth you only get from real wood fire. I added a grilled chicken breast on the side and turned it into a perfectly satisfying entrée. Nadia ordered the Cacio e Pepe, which was creamy, peppery, and just the right amount of rich. Sasha had the butter pasta, and even that was outstanding—pure comfort done right. Every dish was on point, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. Though I didn’t drink tonight (pacing myself after last night!), I chatted with the bartender—one of the most knowledgeable I’ve ever come across. They even stock both green and yellow Chartreuse, which tells you everything you need to know about how serious they are about their bar program. It’s no wonder Vina Enoteca earned Michelin recognition back in 2019. And I was delighted to learn the same owner runs Tootsies, another spot I adore. Service was impeccable—warm, present, and intuitive. Parking was easy, the indoor-outdoor setup is ideal, and the whole evening felt effortless. Vina Enoteca nails it on every level.
Maryam G — Google review
I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Vina Enoteca. Some of the best pizza I have had in the United States. The wood fire oven lends the pizzas a really lovely flavor. I am not entirely certain what wood is used to but it added a depth of flavor and complexity to the pizza which was unique. What is magical is that they use simple, fresh ingredients and create traditional, standard dishes that taste complex and unique. I adored their Funghi pizza, while my teens adored their Margherita and Spaghetti Bolognese. Simple dishes, which nonetheless are often made carelessly by many restaurants, but which were well-balanced, had depth and a complexity of flavor which was surprising. The service was excellent and the interior of the restaurant was spotless and the classic feel of the rustic barn was relaxing and tasteful. It would be a fantastic place for a romantic evening but still relaxed and comfortable enough to take your family and friends. I highly reccomend it!

Terrible. Warning. Do not dine here solo. The place is mostly designed to cater to banquets for Stanford University, and that’s where they’ve gotten their good reviews from (yeah, free food). You’ve been warned. They tried to charge me $30 for refills on iced tea, and worse than that the service was “ready to order? Here’s your food, here’s your check, and don’t forget to tip me.” That’s not why people are dining out like as though my kitchen is being renovated and I’m somehow forced to eat out. You’re lucky you have all your banquets booked as you’d be closed if your primary business was based on reputation for service and excellent food.

McDonald's, a well-established fast-food chain recognized for its hamburgers and fries, presents itself as an ideal choice when seeking a rapid dining option. Situated near Stanford hospital, it offers convenience for individuals in need of a quick bite to eat. With its efficient service and delectable flavors, McDonald's has garnered a positive reputation over the years.
I havent been here for awhile. I had the iced coffee with 3 pumps of caramel, not too sweet and it was perfect. The location was quite busy. The assistance was prompt and efficient. I got the cashier's name. but can't recall. It was an excellent service. He was quite helpul and not even rushing me even the line at my back was growing. He even stepped out the register and made the drink himself. It was quite memorable and proactive service. Thank you so much for the excellent service and well made drink.

The lady working here is extremely rude. I had a request which turned into complaint. I was asking very gently. One of the staff members was talking to me. The lady then told her colleague **“don’t talk to her. I placed the order at 10.30 and had to chase on my order because it's just disappeared on their queue! I finally picked it up 25mins later. Insane! Apparently they don't have filet o fish so they just removed my order?? I was standing there the entire time, wouldn't they think they could ask? They replaced a crispy chicken sandwich for me which was dry and no sauce. Seriously awful.

I always got good, fast and friendly service here and is a good option whether you're spending hours at the mall or just want to grab some McDonald's. By and large, it is your standard McDonald's location, but it's placement within the mall allows you to get a quick bite for cheap.

Korean restaurant
So Gong Dong Tofu House is a simple Korean eatery that offers traditional soups, stews, and rice dishes with options of tofu or meat accompanied by side dishes. The restaurant is known for its authentic Korean cuisine and popular orders include the Combination Tofu Soup and Korean BBQ ribs. They also provide complimentary appetizer dishes that can be refilled upon request. Both brown rice and white rice are available as accompaniments.
Solid place for solid Korean food! Went there during off peak timing (1.30pm) on a weekend and it was pretty full. There are a number of parking spaces but I supposed you may need to park by the roadside during peak hours. When I got there, it was one of two empty slots left. Side dishes were delicious and free flow. Main dishes tasted even better!! We had the chicken bulgogi (they only served dinner size on weekends) and it is huge. Value for money for sure! We also had seafood tofu soup and it tasted really good. Even with the tips, the price point for the food is still very worth it. And if you can’t finish it, remember to ask for packing boxes. Folks are efficient and friendly! They are always checking if we need to top up our side dishes. I am definitely going back there again each time I have cravings!

The soondubu is DELICIOUS. Great flavor, spicy, and most importantly, unlimited rice and ban chan refills upon request. The price is a bit steep for soup ($20+) but the quality is worth it, given Bay Area food prices. Their other dishes are yummy too.

My go-to local spot for delicious Korean food ever since high school! I’ve tried almost all their main dishes from bibimbap to soondubu to naengmyeon, and they are all absolutely scrumptious! Very generous portions as well, though prices have increased over the years. The banchan is also great and they do refill them upon request without extra charge.

I'm not the biggest fan of Korean cuisine, but I had a good experience at SGD I ordered the Seafood Soft Tofu Soup, which was warming & filling. My friends enjoyed their orders too, including the Bulgogi Pork and Beef Dolsot. The vibes are cozy but maybe a bit too tight. The service seems a little frenetic - the food doesn't take long to arrive, but it's tricky to get a hold of a waiter. If you're a fan of or interested in Korean food, I'd check SGD out at least once.

Updated [Dine in]: My husband and I went there on May 17, 2025 for dinner. We ordered the Fish Egg Tofu Soup which was their signature dish. It was disgusting. There was a strong fishy smell that smelt like it was rotten. After we had the dinner, we both felt unwell that night. [Delivery] The pork is good. Tofu soup is smaller than I expected.

This place is pretty nice in south bay. There's a parking lot for your cars. It gets busy during peak hours but usually you shouldn't have to wait too long. It seems pretty authentic (coming from a non Korean). Food is good, especially the seafood pancakes and the galbi. Definitely would want more of those. Serving size is pretty large too. Overall good stuff and very solid Korean restaurant!

In addition to the daily buffet, the restaurant also has a lounge area where happy hour is held twice each evening. Customers praise the friendly staff and contemporary venue, making it an ideal spot for a wholesome dining experience.
Food quality and flavor was good. Service was excellent. However the seating and arrangements were a bit clumsy. Tables were very close to one another and i would say they had 6 chairs squeezed in instead of 4. Service was prompt. Pavbhaji and vada pac were very delicious. Heard they have a great lunch buffet.

The food is good and very budget friendly. The best item was the mango mousse. The worst part was the service. One waiter behaved very rudely and condescendingly when I asked simple questions. Another time, we asked for hand tissue paper and the waiter said he'll bring some but didn't provide anything.

I got take out this time. I've been there before. Atmosphere is fine. But don't get take out. Got the salmon platter listed as their monthly specials. $26 for 3 small pieces of salmon, a cup of coconut rice, and some raw veggies. No potato dumplings. They gave us chutney but what for if we don't have the dumplings.

The food was fresh, flavorful, and totally worth the price! Great variety too — enough to keep everyone at the table happy. The place has lovely vibes — elegant chandeliers, comfy seating, and just the right buzz of a busy weekend crowd. It was packed, but the staff handled it like pros. Big shoutout to the waiters — they brought us bread before we could even ask (mind readers, I tell you!). I was especially impressed when they offered us masala dosa out of the blue — and served it in no time. My wife and kid were all smiles, and we couldn’t stop raving about the place the whole drive home.

Stanford University, located in Palo Alto, California, is a renowned private research institution established in 1885. The campus features striking historical architecture with a Spanish colonial revival style. Notable alumni include the founders of Google, Hewlett-Packard, Nike, Sun Microsystems and Yahoo!. The university's expansive grounds are considered among the most beautiful in the world. With an acceptance rate of less than five percent and attracting top-tier students globally, Stanford University maintains its prestigious reputation as a leading educational institution.
I was there for my son's graduation. What a beautiful campus. It's also HUGE. Be prepared to walk a lot. They have a free shuttle, but the steps and routes seem limited, but it's free. I walk with a cane. Whenever I tried walking somewhere, a golf cart would zip up out of nowhere, and take me where I needed to go. They also fed all of the families extremely well. The food was great, with fresh and unique choices, and the portions huge. We were never asked for a penny to pay. The whole campus has a very welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. It was a great change from what we have seen from those in our government lately. I was quite impressed. I would give them more stars if I could.

I just visited Stanford University, and it was an incredible experience. Walking through the Main Quad, visiting the Hoover Tower, exploring the Cantor Arts Center, and strolling around the Arizona Garden made the campus feel alive with history, art, and natural beauty. Every corner of Stanford inspires learning, creativity, and exploration—it’s a place I’ll never forget.

Plenty of historical significance of the buildings and signage around the area. There are many pictures spots in the campus. A nice place to visit.

Stanford University is one of the most beautiful and prestigious campuses in the U.S. We visited as a family and were amazed by the blend of historic architecture, open green spaces, and peaceful courtyards. The Main Quad, Hoover Tower, and Memorial Church are all must-sees. The campus is clean, well-organized, and perfect for walking or biking. Tip: Start at the Stanford Visitor Center for maps and tips, and wear comfortable shoes—it’s a large campus. Whether you’re a prospective student or just sightseeing, it’s an inspiring place to explore.

Stanford absolutely lives up to its reputation as one of the most gorgeous campuses in the US! The 8,000-acre grounds are stunning, starting from the iconic Palm Drive entrance lined with Canary Island palms. Hoover Tower is a must-do for $8 - the 360-degree views from the 14th floor observation deck overlooking the entire campus and Bay Area are incredible! The Main Quad with its Richardsonian Romanesque architecture is breathtaking, and Memorial Church is definitely worth stepping inside. The biggest surprise was the Cantor Arts Center being completely free with the world's second-largest Rodin sculpture collection outside of Paris - art lovers shouldn't miss it! Parking is coin-operated at $1.50/hour but free on weekends which is nice. They offer guided tours on weekdays (need to book ahead) but self-guided with the free map works great too, taking about 1-2 hours. I'd recommend visiting on weekdays for a more authentic academic atmosphere and fewer crowds. The whole campus feels like a beautiful park - no wonder so many tech leaders came from here!

Stanford Theatre, located on University Avenue in Palo Alto, is a historic independent movie theater that first opened its doors in 1925. After nearly 40 years of entertaining the community with Hollywood movies, it underwent restoration in 1987 by the David and Lucile Packard Foundation. The restoration brought back the theater's original grandeur from the Golden Age of Hollywood and reinstated a weekly lineup of classic movies.
Gorgeous theatre, one of my absolute favorite places to go. The concessions are delicious and priced very fairly, the staff is extremely helpful and kind, I always love to see them. I cannot praise this theatre enough, especially when it comes to their film selection. The organist is the highlight of the showings, for sure!

For movie lovers, this place is as close as we can get to heaven. The Stanford Theater is one of my favorite places on the planet - as soon as you get to the box office you’re going back in time. $7 for a double feature! $1 for a small popcorn! The theater has been beautifully restored with so many classic posters hung on the wall. And the music! Between the second and third showings of the night, an organ player rises through the stage and plays through the intermission. I love this place and I’m so grateful for it.

Gifted with an hour of spa. We enjoyed a big round hot tub, cold water tub and steam room for an hour in a private room. It made one of the best gifts ever. It was so relaxing , and still felt the relaxation the next day. 🤔 making it a regular treat.

In desperate need for a chill date, my partner and I decided to book a hot tub and sauna room here at Watercourse Way. Though it would’ve been much easier to just book the room online, calling over the phone wasn’t too bad and they do have a lot to explain as well. Anyways, from the start of the experience it is great. They offered us tea or water right away and showed us to the room. It was super relaxing, clean, and spacious. We really enjoyed the ability to cycle between the cold plunge and hot tub and sauna. Overall it was a very relaxing time and I could not complain about the experience.

WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE! Treated myself on my birthday to the hot tub/sauna (Eight Stars) + a 1 hour deep tissue massage with Stacy and I’m beyond satisfied!!!! Best massage I’ve ever had and the kindest people I’ve ever encountered.

My pics are of the six dragonflies room which was great - it had both tuscan and Nordic vibes. I wouldn’t recommend it for people with joint pain as it took me a few tries to figure out how to safely get in the ginormous wooden tub. With tax and tip it was $60 for an hour so not something I will do repeatedly.

We visited this bathhouse recently, and the water had such a strong chemical or sanitizer smell that it actually burned my skin and eyes during the soak. Our skin is itching and irritated for several days afterward — even till now and it’s something that’s never happened to me at any other spa or onsen. It’s disappointing because the place itself looked nice, but clearly the water treatment isn’t being handled properly. I’d really recommend avoiding this bathhouse until they fix the issue with the chlorine or sanitizer levels. Definitely not worth the discomfort.

We got a gift card to this place and we were excited to try it out. We get massages regularly and i have never had such a poor experience. Staff was friendly, everything was clean and beautiful but when i say i literally got a back rub, this is no exaggeration. The masseuse played with my hair for 15 minutes of the 1hr massage. We will not be coming back.

Today was my first time at Watercourse Way Bath House Spa and I chose the “Five Elements” program with master Aaron. I really enjoyed it! The master was very attentive, gentle, and always made sure I was comfortable. The salon is clean, with pleasant music and excellent specialists. Thank you so much — I’ll definitely come back!

Amazing, friendly, welcoming, and relaxing atmosphere and environment. The staff are so incredibly friendly and the place was neat and clean. Came for a bachelorette weekend for one of my dearest friends. And watercourse was so helpful in booking our reservation! It was well organized and well communicated. We stayed at the Nine Bats and Eight Stars hot tub rooms and it was gorgeous! Will definitely come back!

Nature & Wildlife Areas
Nestled in the Palo Alto and Los Altos foothills, the Pearson-Arastradero Preserve is a sprawling 600-acre open space offering a mix of grasslands and woodlands. This dog-friendly preserve features over 10 miles of marked trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. Visitors can enjoy stunning vistas of the San Francisco skyline while exploring the pristine nature trails that wind through picturesque rolling hills adorned with poppies in spring and golden grass year-round.
Really nice for hiking all year round but especially beautiful after some rain when the hills turn green. Couple of benches along the trail have really nice views. Parking can be hard to find on weekend mornings but there are a few street parking spots across the road. There are restrooms at the trail head, next to the parking lot.

Great hiking trail. There is a good mix of terrain but well paved so not very difficult. Very scenic trail with lots of bird to spot
Raghu M — Google review
Great place for a quiet walk. lots of ground squirrels and birds. the parking lot is a bit small. less crowded after 2p. we walked on the west side of the road, up to Arastradero Lake. v quiet, great views. a coyote stood and watched us for a while and trotted off.

Had a great hike here in late April. Grass was green, wildflowers and birds were all over the place. A full loop of the preserve (my preferred route) is about 6 miles and fairly gentle by Bay Area standards. This isn't pristine nature by any means; it's sandwiched between a horse pasture and a golf course with mansions along the rest of the perimeter, and there are power lines along the creek trail for some reason. But none of that spoils the scenery and the easy accessibility is one of this place's big virtues. Expect to have to hover for parking on nice weekends, or park at Page Mill and Arastradero and add an extra mile each way.
Luke P — Google review
The main parking is very dusty. So get ready to get your car washed after parking there. So are the rest of park trails. You can literally smell the pungent dust during large swathes of the trail. But overall it's well marked. There are well maintained toilets by the parking lot
Avisek N — Google review
This was a beautiful place to walk in nature when we had the drought. But now that we’ve had rain it’s just stunning. You see golden hills with green oak trees, pink tiny wildflowers, red tail hawks, and the lake is so serene that it mesmerizes you if you can stop in the middle of Silicon Valley. There are dragonflies of many species, butterflies, mama birds taking care of young in the water and more. Do be familiar with what poison oak looks like so you can avoid it. Then take a breath and enjoy!
Deniece R — Google review
This preserve is home to a variety of plant and animal species, including oak trees, wildflowers, deer, and a variety of bird species. The trails wind through rolling hills and offer breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. I particularly enjoyed the Arastradero Lake Trail, which follows the shoreline of a serene lake and provides opportunities for birdwatching and other wildlife sightings. The trails themselves are well-maintained and clearly marked, making it easy to navigate the preserve. There are also several interpretive signs along the way that provide information about the local flora and fauna, as well as the history of the area. It's a great place for a fun weekend hike!
Krussh — Google review
Nice parking lot, free, beautiful views, small visitor center with information about local wildlife and Ohlone history. Nice bathrooms. Parts of the hike have little to no shade so bring sun gear. The trails are gravel and dirt (not wheelchair or stroller friendly). Great place for families. Wish the hikes were a bit more accessible.

The Stanford Dish is an iconic radio telescope located on the grounds of Stanford University in the scenic Stanford foothills. Built in 1966 by the Air Force, it was originally used to study the atmosphere and communicate with satellites and astronauts. The 3.5-mile paved trail around the Dish attracts hikers and joggers, offering stunning views of San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, and the East Bay.
Amazing place for a super and long hike. Most of the trail is open and hence check the weather before hitting the trail. Excellent site for birding but need to go early in the morning or late in the afternoon. Parking space at the trail head is limited. The trail is completely asphalted.

Definitely worth the walk / climb! A really well maintained track with fabulous views across Stanford University campus and the San Francisco Bay.

Try to wear a hat and get a good sunscreen if you are going for a trail. Wear good shoes, some parts can be really steep. The view is quite nice. One can see the two cities San Francisco and San Jose from the top.
Sanchayan B — Google review
Nice place to go for a hike. It does get a bit boring as it's just a big loop / circle. But it has a quite a bit of wildlife ranging from squirrels to woodpeckers to coyotes at times.
Vignesh M — Google review
Parking was east, Google maps takes you to a neighborhood, need to turn back. First hill is steep, but overall a pleasant walk.
Thomas H — Google review
The Stanford Dish is a fantastic hiking spot right on campus. The loop trail is about 3.5 miles and gives you a mix of moderate uphill climbs and easy stretches. What makes it special is the wide-open views — you can see across Stanford, Palo Alto, and even the Bay on clear days. It’s named after the large radio telescope (“the Dish”), which is still used for research and is the landmark of the trail. Along the way you’ll spot plenty of wildlife like hawks, deer, and rabbits, plus seasonal wildflowers. There’s no shade, so bring water and a hat, especially in summer. But overall, it’s one of the best places for a morning walk, run, or just to enjoy nature while staying close to campus.

I have been running this trail for 20 years and I love it. For Runners or Walkers: NOTE there are multiple entrances. The one near page mill road is roughly 3.2 miles. The entrance near Alpine Rd and 280 is 5.3 miles. This is a beautiful hike with a lot of incline, so you’ll definitely get a workout here. This area is famous. A couple of tips for you as you plan: - Leave nothing in your car. It will be broken into if you do. -Bring a hat or sunscreen. There is no cover or shade! -Bring comfortable shoes. If you have knee problems, this can be challenging. -Bring water, they have people who get rescued here a lot for dehydration. -Use the bathroom before. No bathrooms except for a portable one on the page mill entrance -Stay in the trail and respect the nature. Keep this place beautiful. And most importantly, enjoy! This place is beautiful and an important historical place.
Brendan — Google review
Enterance at Alpine Road will take you to 3 uphill slopes to get to 2 hiking trails. I think these 3 slopes are the most challenging and once you get through them then the rest of the hike is not too challenging. I'm not an experienced hiker so if I can do this almost anyone can. 😂

A truly unique and beautiful church in Silicon Valley. Very peaceful, fits a lot of people. Saw a new item ...Sliders. So i got 4 with a different meat. After toasting, the woman (appeared to be a supervisor?) didn't allow me to add the veggies i wanted. I asked for onions on all 4, she refused. She said it wasn't part of the menu. What a freaking joke. This item was badly fixed up. Staff didn't how to fix a slider in the first place. The same woman was verbally giving the staff instructions. And since when does staff dictate what i WANT on my food?....i will never order sliders again. This was a waste of money. Look at the photo. I almost threw them away. But had to eat something before work.

The food and service at this Subway is standard for the brand. It’s not incredible but you wouldn’t be going to Subway if you wanted incredible. The setup of this location is poor for people in wheelchairs. You can’t walk two wide along the sandwich counter, so it’s a bit of a squeeze to actually order.

I ordered my food on the subway website and when I went in to pick up, I gave the lady my name and she said I had no order. So I pulled my Phone out and showed her two different forms of receipts 1) from the subway app 2) from my bank statement and guess what she did? She said well nope no order for you sorry. She didn’t even offer to help me or offer to serve me she just said she couldn’t help me and walked away!!!

Evvia Estiatorio is a lively destination offering a refined take on classic Greek dishes in a traditional Hellenic ambiance. The restaurant welcomes guests with the inviting aroma of culinary delights and serves up delicious appetizers, moussaka, seafood specialties, and renowned lamb chops. With old-world charm and friendly service, Evvia brings Greek hospitality to Palo Alto. It sources the freshest local produce for traditional delicacies and contemporary variations.
My favorite restaurant in Palo Alto! Came here for date night and enjoyed great food and service. We enjoyed the baked feta tomato and the lamb tremendously. Waiter was fantastic. They bring you treats on a birthday or anniversary. Authentic Greek wines. Cozy decor and delicious smells. Not too loud. Good for groups.

This place over the years has been steadily amazing! Their lamb chops are always very aromatic! I was told they were invited to cook for Obama during his second term. Their service is always very smooth and attentive. Great pace in serving appetizers and main courses. Both indoor and outdoor seatings are comfortable, pleasant. Just really love this place!
Jingwei Z — Google review
I heard it's a fantastic restaurant, so we came specifically because of its reputation. Thankfully, we made an online reservation—otherwise, they wouldn’t let you in. Even though we had a 5 p.m. reservation, many tables were empty, but the staff told walk-in customers that the restaurant was fully booked for the night. We glanced at the menu and ordered the famous octopus leg. It looked very plain and unappetizing, and it had a weird smell—not sure if it was because of the seasoning or the quality of the octopus. We also tried the grilled cheese recommended by the server. Oh my, I regretted ordering it so much—it was extremely salty and felt too heavy as an appetizer. After eating the grilled cheese, I almost lost my appetite. My mouth felt so salty that I kept drinking water. Lastly, the lamb shank was also just average—bland and nothing special. I feel like I could’ve made something better at home. The service, however, was excellent. The staff refilled our water promptly and were very attentive. Maybe this restaurant really isn’t worried about lacking customers, or perhaps they’re genuinely too busy, which might explain why they weren’t very friendly toward walk-in guests. After the meal, my husband had diarrhea when we got home—all because of that grilled cheese. Maybe this place is more suitable for people who prefer heavy flavors. For me, it can be summed up in one word: salty. I won’t be coming back.

Extraordinary service very welcoming team, very accommodating and nice restaurant. It was my first time visiting Evvia. I met friends for cocktails and appetizers which were "ok". It wasn't bad just ok. Tinny portions even for appetizers at a large price for their tiny dishes. I can't stress enjoy what a lovely atmosphere and wonderful service. Their desserts options were very nice. I had the rice pudding with a pear. It was ok.

This was so delicious. Sooo much better than Taverna, high quality and crazy flavorful!!! We ate lot of fish bones during this meal but it was worth. Walked in with no reservation at a cheeky 6pm and they still managed to squeeze us in, 10/10 service!

We celebrated a special occasion at Evvia Estiatorio and it was an unforgettable experience. The food, ambiance, and service all came together beautifully. We started with the crispy zucchini chips with tzatziki, which were light, crunchy, and perfectly paired with the refreshing dip. For mains, the grilled whole fish was cooked to perfection—flaky, tender, and full of flavor—accompanied by charred vegetables that added the right balance. The lamb chops were another highlight, juicy, tender, and infused with rich Mediterranean spices that made every bite melt in your mouth. The warm, elegant atmosphere made the night feel even more special, and the staff made sure everything went smoothly, adding thoughtful touches throughout the evening. If you’re looking for authentic Greek flavors in an upscale yet welcoming setting, Evvia is the place to go. Perfect for date nights, family celebrations, or any occasion you want to feel truly special.
Shahab S — Google review
This is a decent place to have brunch. The food is good. The salmon I have is not crisp on the edges so I am a little disappointed. The sauce is a wrong sauce for this salmon. Improvement: It will be better with a dill lemon sauce, being Greek, you could mixed the fresh dill herbs with yogurt and that will make the dish better. Never pour the sauce on the fish as it will make it soggy. The sauce should always stay at the bottom at the base and the fish lay on it.

Have not eaten at Evvia for ages and happy we revisited! We did all appetizers and enjoyed everything we got: * Evvia salad * taramosalata with pita - good though I would've preferred a stronger fish roe taste similar to what we had in Mykonos * smelts - deep-fried goodness * grilled octopus - perfectly cooked Our next visit will be much sooner!

Meyhouse in Palo Alto is a Turkish restaurant with a classic modern and cozy atmosphere. The high ceiling makes the space feel open and inviting. The service is attentive and friendly, adding to the positive dining experience. The menu offers a variety of dishes, including warm and soft hummus, flavorful lamb chops, and perfectly cooked octopus. The interior is stylish and spacious, providing a comfortable setting for enjoying the delicious food.
Absolutely amazing meal with both strong and subtle flavors. Incredible Turkish bread right out of the oven. The simple garlic yogurt is worth the trip all by itself! Superb grilled eggplant and peppers, and kebabs too. The tomatoes taste homegrown. Real chocolate covers the profiteroles. The wait staff don’t hurry you, so you can relax and flag them when you’re ready.

Delicious premium Turkish food for a premium price. The service was outstanding, and I have no complaints. The only thing I would nitpick on is that we got seated on one of the side tables, and I felt like the middle is a better vibe. The food was absolutely delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly, and the fresh Turkish bread was so good. Normally I don’t eat tableside bread since it fills me up and it’s usually not the best quality, but this bread was freshly baked and oh so delicious. We got chicken, lamb, steak, variety of appetizers and a couple desserts as well. I think the Turkish desserts at Oklava is better priced and tastes better, but other than that, I would order everything else in a heartbeat. The service was outstanding too, my party and I had a later reservation and we were so busy enjoying the food and each others company that we didn’t realize how late it had gotten. But we didn’t feel rushed to leave and the staff was so courteous. Although expensive, I think your money is better spent here than some other competing restaurants in Palo Alto.

We had an unforgettable Turkish dining experience at **Meyhouse**! We kicked off lunch with the *Kopoglu*—oven-roasted eggplants and tomatoes on yogurt—bursting with flavor. Next, we sampled the *Girit* (Turkish sheep’s milk cheese with pistachios) and the *Ahtapot* (roasted octopus on fava butter), both of which were as unique as they were delicious. And let's not forget the freshly baked bread, served with a complementary dip, which was so soft and addictive, we couldn’t stop tearing off pieces! For the main course, we savored the *Cemenli Tavuk*—chicken breast marinated in yogurt and fenugreek, paired with fluffy rice. We also had the *Levreck*, a perfectly cooked Branzino served with a generous side of greens. The combination of flavors was both novel and comforting, leaving us craving more. When it came to dessert, we were absolutely spoiled. My son devoured the *Profiterole*—cream-filled pastry puffs drizzled with chocolate and topped with pistachios. My daughter went for the *Sutlac*, a Turkish rice pudding with a perfectly browned top. My husband and I shared the *Kunefe*, which was simply divine, especially when paired with vanilla ice cream and pistachio crumbles. Every dessert was a standout, each one more irresistible than the last. The service was impeccable—prompt, friendly, and our host made us feel right at home. **Meyhouse** is a must-try for anyone craving a memorable Turkish meal with heart and soul!

Meyhouse in Palo Alto (California) is definitely worth the hype and the hefty check you'll get at the end if you don't watch what you're eating. The servers are really good...they cater to your every need and they are constantly there is guide you to order, explain each entree and suggest menu items to suit your taste buds. Pretty cool interiors too. All in all, a luxury premium experience that will satisfy all your Turkish / Mediterranean cravings. We were there for an occasion so we decided to splurge a little. We ordered the "LITTLE LITTLE IN THE MIDDLE" for all 3 of us. It's basically a Chef's tasting menu but a pretty unique one at that. It included some items that were not even available on their menus. Trust me, it was really filling and we were a few pounds heavier walking back to the car! Worth it at $95 per person? That's for you to decide.

If you have never had this food be excited because it tastes amazing and is healthy. We got the mixed grill for $224- expensive but worth it. You definitely get enough for 4 or 6 if it’s kids. The chicken was not as great as I wish but it was delicious, I really liked the red meat. Didn’t try the fish but will next time.

What an amazing restaurant in downtown Palo Alto. We had the Chef's tasting menu and it was amazing. The portions were very generous and every dish had great flavor. Very attentive service as well.

One of the better Turkish restaurants in the Bay Area - the food is good and ambiance/service great. I was here on a Sunday for dinner and the place was pretty crowded. We had the octopus and artichoke for appetizers - both were fantastic. Main was branzino and grouper - well prepared and fresh. Not a huge fan of the side salad. Pricey.

If you're in the mood for a quick and satisfying meal, Shake Shack at Stanford Shopping Center is the perfect spot to indulge in classic comfort food. This beloved chain offers a variety of favorites like their Signature Shack burgers, Chicken Bites, Chicago hot dogs, and delightful root beer floats. You can conveniently order for delivery or pick up your meal any day of the week until 10 p.m., making it an easy choice for those busy days.
Very convenient location for a shake shack. Able to order online and then pick up in person. The staff there are helpful and kind, and very fast and efficient. The food also was nicely made and yummy too. Ordering with the app was very convenient in choosing what I wanted. Lots of different selections and seasonal variations make it even more enticing to eat at. I quite enjoyed the plain shack burger, but the truffle one also had quite the interesting taste.

Smash burgers are a favorite of mine— they're delicious, with a crispy, flavorful crust and juicy inside. However, they can be a bit greasy, and unless you opt for a double patty, the meat flavor can get a little lost. I personally love them, but I know they're not for everyone. Many people don't give them a try, but if you're into burgers, l'd definitely recommend giving them a shot, especially if you're a fan of rich, indulgent flavors. Overall, I'd give them a solid four stars.

The place is outside of the main shopping mall, which can be good and bad. Good: easy parking (away from the crowd); Bad: if you are shopping and want to take a break for burger, depending what part of the mall you located.. can be easily 10 minutes walk or more. Services was awesome, Ray was super tentative and with a big smile. Food was good but not cheap. For 3 of us without tip was almost $70. Not sure if I return without any 50% off coupon. 😆

It is a good idea to hire teenagers to give them work opportunities but you need to train them how to cook. The kids cannot cook! My food is so burnt and not sure why they still gave it to me as if it is normal. I also waited 15-20 mins and this is what I got. The staff was polite but just need more training

Pretty standard for a Shake Shack, but that’s a good thing. Service was solid, the staff were friendly, and the food was as good as always. Be sure to stop by when they are running a promo. Getting two hotdogs for the price of one always makes the meal taste even better.

Italian restaurant
Terún is a refined Italian restaurant and pizzeria located on California Avenue. Despite its small and intimate indoor seating, the ample and comfortable outdoor patio provides a delightful dining experience. The restaurant offers a variety of Italian dishes, including homemade pasta, southern Italian entrees, and Neapolitan-style pizzas cooked in a wood-fired oven. Terún has gained recognition for its high-quality cuisine, being named the best Italian Restaurant by the readers of Palo Alto Weekly.
We went today and the experience was fabulous. As Italian food lovers , we can assure you that everything from the Chef's antipasto to the house dessert carries a unique flavor of Italian cuisine. Each dish is prepared with fresh ingredients and handcrafted. We will definitely be back.

Unreal. The gnocchi is top notch. The bufala mozzarella pizza was crisp, light, and tasty. We got the vegetariana with burrata. Best burrata we ever had, period. And the veggies were cooked really well. The sangria rossa was lightly sweet, fruity and refreshing. Service was quick and attentive. Fantastic dining experience. Overall, an amazing place that we definitely will be returning to.

The reviews are true! This is a great spot to grab a dinner on a date night or with your family. Lots of outdoor seating, too, We were greeted by a hostess who sat us right away. You can park in the lot a couple of minutes away. Delicious pizzas, pastas, and appetizers. We had the magherita and nduja pizza. Loved the heat. We were concerned about time because we needed to catch a show, but the food came out promptly. Our server, Gaby, was attentive and friendly. They have a solid selection of Italian wines, by the glass and bottle, as well as cocktails and beers. You HAVE to try their house made limoncello!! So good- on par with limoncello I’ve had in Italy. We didn’t get to try the dessert, but will have to next time we return. Keep this place pinned in your places to check out!

Definitely the best Italian restaurant in the South Bay. The pizza is chewy and the pasta is so flavorful. The cocktail is wonderful too. Good spot for lunch, you might need reservations for dinner.

Food was excellent! The pizzas and pasta are delicious. Prices are fairly high but service can definitely be better. They almost forgot one of our entrees and other things we needed.
Pedram A — Google review
We had such a great experience at Terún! The pizza was absolutely delicious, perfectly wood-fired with that authentic Neapolitan flavor. We also tried the special, a brochette of chicken wrapped, and wow, it was amazingly tasty! Tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was excellent. A perfect spot for a cozy dinner or a night out with friends. Highly recommend this place if you’re in Palo Alto and craving quality Italian food 🇮🇹

This might be the best Italian food in Bay area we tried so far. Best burrata ever, both Margherita and Porcino pizzas were great, veggie soup is amazing, seafood risotto is very special, and finally delicious Panna Cotta desert which is very hard to find anywhere. The owner was a very nice person too. This area of Palo Alto is also very walkable and looks like a European town.

Love this place! Obviously their pizza is fantastic, but actually, everything on their menu is fantastic!! It is authentic. This place gets so extremely crowded every day of the week, not just weekends, so make a reservation. Great place for groups so you can order everything and share. Leaving for dessert!

New American restaurant
Restaurant
Protégé is an upscale dining destination offering pre-fixe New American cuisine and an extensive wine selection. The restaurant is a collaboration between Anthony Secviar, a chef from El Bulli, and Dennis Kelly, the former master sommelier of The French Laundry. The dining room features a tasting menu showcasing Secviar's captivating cooking, while the lounge offers equally intricate à la carte options.
I chose Protégé for our anniversary dinner on a Tuesday evening, booking the last available time slot. When we arrived at 6:30 pm, the restaurant was already lively with patrons, yet street parking was plentiful. We were warmly greeted by the host and seated in the main dining room near the bar. The atmosphere struck a balance between intimate and vibrant—cozy lighting, a view of the open kitchen, a large glass wall looking outside, and a playlist mixing old classics with current pop hits created a welcoming ambiance. Our server, Patrick, was attentive and took time to explain the menu and share thoughtful recommendations. We began with oysters, milk bread with butter, and the crab & caviar. Each starter was brought out promptly and plated beautifully. The oysters were incredibly fresh, and the milk bread—soft, warm, and paired with rich butter—was an instant favorite. The stone fruit salad and the octopus were highlights of the night, both recommended by Patrick. The salad was a surprisingly delight, perfectly balancing sweet and savory with a deep, cured flavor I wouldn’t have thought to order myself. The octopus was tender and artfully presented with olive oil foam and a bright, flavorful sauce. For mains, we shared the brick chicken and halibut. The chicken was juicy with crispy skin, served over a well-seasoned fideuà that paired beautifully without overpowering the dish. The halibut was equally impressive, accented by crunchy toppings that added texture and flavor. Dessert was both playful and refined, the 18-layer Dubai chocolate cake and the mushroom cap cookie. The cake was stunning, with layers of nutty pistachio and just enough bitterness from dark chocolate to balance the sweetness. The mushroom cookie, subtly fragrant with maple and served alongside ice cream, was whimsical and memorable. We also sampled three cocktails, all well-crafted. The Match Made in Honey was a highlight, while the Old Fashioned was perfectly balanced. Overall, the dinner and service were excellent. The only touch I felt was missing—given it was a special occasion—was a small gesture such as a card, something I enjoy collecting from restaurants each year. That said, Protégé may not be that kind of establishment, and the experience itself was more than enough to make the evening special. I’d happily return to explore more of their seasonal offerings.

I love the special, which was a Focaccia with persimmon, prosciutto, and ricotta. The chef really put thoughts into this. Highly recommended, and we each got two pieces of it. We also enjoyed the desserts, which were a slice of pistachios cake and a slice of fig soufra. The fig soufra was paired an ice cream we thought was almond or saffron. The only thing I’m not quite getting was the cauliflower entree, which was a little too sweet for me. The rice on the cauliflower dish was great though. Overall, a really positive experience.

What a time. We had booked a reservation for 7:45 on a calm Tuesday evening. After being greeted by the host we were walked over to our table for 2 in the lounge area for the a la carte menu. Immediately the attention to detail caught me as the host brought out water and poured some into our glasses. Afterwards, our server Annie greeted us and offered a very detailed description of each dish. She said that normally people order 1 item from each category on their menu: “snack”, “appetizer”, “entree”. I suppose, abnormally, my partner and I opted for 2 snacks, 2 appetizers, and 1 entree. The two snacks we chose were the Lobster Chips and the Crab and Caviar. Lobster Chips were subtle in flavor with really nice balance and texture. The Crab and Caviar, is super hyped up, and it was good, but I think the hype was too much. It was really delicious with really punchy flavors all balanced together nicely, but at the end of the day it is just egg, crab, and caviar for 35 dollars. For appetizers, we chose the Spanish Octopus and the special of the night, the Mochiko Fried Softshell Crab. The Spanish Octopus was by far the best bite we had that night. Incredibly tender, while crispy and charred, the octopus left me confused. I couldn’t understand how it was possible to have octopus be that texture. The Softshell Crab was indeed quite special as well. It had a ton of bright flavors from the subtle spice to the sweet and sour grape tomatoes. Everything in that dish was great, but when compared to the octopus, it simply couldn’t compete. Eventually, our Brick Chicken arrived. With perfectly crispy skin and juicy chicken, this was quite a delightful dish. It left me savoring every bite in awe of everything we had to eat thus far. After the savory items were completed, the server rolled over the dessert display to explain each option. We opted for the Layered Pistachio Cake as it seemed the most complex, and it definitely did not disappoint. The flavors were subtle, but they included wafers to create contrasting textures. The ice cream on top was also perfection. We also received a complimentary Vietnamese Coffee Ice Cream which had really nice strong coffee flavor, however the texture was rather ice-y. Beyond the food, the thing that makes this restaurant really special are the people and the service they offer. Whether it is noticing the small details like topping up your water or just crumbing between the dishes, they maintain a very clean aesthetic. The attitude of everyone working there also adds a lot to the experience. During this meal, I actually made plans to ask my partner to be my girlfriend. All I had done was make a short note on the reservation, but they took it and ran. They wrote a little note, and gave us a free dessert. Shortly after, I saw some of the chefs peaking over at our table with a thumbs up. Essentially inquiring whether my question was successful or not. After replying with my own thumbs up, I saw them pumping their fists and cheering for me. The whole experience at Protégé was perfect!

I have no complaints. Visited Palo Alto for work and decided to give Protege a try and they did not disappoint. The food was really good and the service was GREAT!! Very friendly server and the Sommelier was top notch!! Enjoyed the conversation and exploration into the wine list! Definitely worth the money and I look forward to visiting again.

Had a set meal event for work. Was excellent except the main “brick chicken” was not great. A bone in thigh which was hard to eat. Otherwise very good. Desert was good. Space is nice.
Fraser S — Google review
I visited to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. Every single menu of the 7-course was really good. My favorite was the Trout dish. The outer layer that looked like the skin of the trout was actually the sauce. The trout was well-cooked, and the sauces and Riesling wine paired with it went really well together. I was a little disappointed that there was no separate wine pairing menu. My boyfriend paired a new wine with every menu. Thanks to that, I paid an additional $400. I supplemented the 14 days aged steak with A5 Japanese wagu, which was really good wagu, but it was too rich when eaten with deep fried mushrooms, so it wasn't that good. And the Tokaji that I had as a dessert wine was also great.

We love this place so much. We’ve dined at the best restaurants in the world including Oriole, Alinea, and Benu this year and Protégé remains our favorite. The service is incredible — we are treated like family every time we come, The cocktails are the best we’ve ever had. We keep coming back—never disappointed. Pro tip: sit at the bar to watch Linguini work his magic.

The tennis court at the park is excellent—well-maintained and perfect for playing. Like many popular courts in the Bay Area, it can get busy at times, so you might need to wait for a spot. But it’s worth it for the quality of the court and the overall experience!

Very large park really well located on the free cross city bus line, and next to the library and arts center. There are tennis courts and basketball courts here, as well as large open grassy areas and other areas completely shaded by large trees. There are a few playground areas and a school connected to the park which is fenced off. The star of the show is an olympic style pool, which looks to be in great condition. Its a great place to bring kids or just watch the local wildlife.

Kali Greek Kitchen is a trendy cafe with subway tiles, offering a Greek menu and outdoor seating. The establishment serves Greek/Turkish coffees, baklava, and a gluten-free fish salad that is delicious and satisfying. The salad has citrus and olive flavors, perfectly cooked fish with crispy skin to retain its juices. They also offer refreshing lemonades.
Very fresh and well made food. A different take on ‘Greek’ than I’m used to, but for what it was, it was VERY good. A little overpriced for the portions. Good shaded outdoor seating. Chicken gyro w/fries Chicken rice plate Strawberry basil Kali lemonade Lemon garlic aioli and hot sauce dips ~$44.00

The food here is absolutely delicious. Everything tastes fresh and made to order with generous portions sizes. I found the plates to be perfectly balanced with so many delicious flavors combined into one meal. The restaurant itself is small but has a nice atmosphere and is perfect for smaller groups.

This was SO good. I had the chicken salad, I added a beef skewer, ordered a side of fries, and later on ordered a cup of Greek coffee. The chicken was flavorful, the dressing was fresh, the beef skewer was my favorite! The servers were polite and the restaurant was very clean. My Greek coffee had probably 1/3-1/2 of it grounds but it still tasted good. 10/10. Next time I’m in Palo Alto, I’ll be going there for sure.

Bad service, great food. Please dont tell customers that they are wrong and insist their ordering process is absolutely obvious when instructions and placements have room for improvement. Fish is amazing, rice is good, Lamb is good, fries are normal,

Fast casual- you order at a kiosk or at the counter. You get your own water but they bring your order to the table. I had the vegetarian plate but the zucchini fritters were completely uncooked in the middle. It was served with stale pita bread, rice and salad. The lemon & garlic aioli tasted like mayonnaise and there were NO chickpeas(although the menu says there should be). Seating outdoors is nice though and they do have one unisex toilet stall right next to the prep area. But with so many other choices to eat at, this one is not worth it.
Sampada P — Google review
The place has a calm, quiet charm that makes it easy to settle in. A large tree provides just the right amount of shade, making the space feel cool and peaceful — a pleasant spot to enjoy a meal. The lamb pita was flavorful and well-prepared, and the Greek yogurt with honey and nuts made for a simple but satisfying finish. Altogether, a lovely, unpretentious experience in a relaxed setting.

Bistro Elan is an upscale yet laid-back restaurant in Palo Alto, offering carefully sourced Californian-French cuisine and outdoor seating. We had great expectations for this place, but it was such a letdown. First of all the prix fixe menu was not very appealing. But we found something we could eat. The choice of main dishes was better than the appetizers but not very interesting. Caviar was fishy and not good. Could not finish the small portion even though I love caviar. Little gem salad was soggy and unappealing in presentation. looked like it had been sitting out for awhile before serving. Sadly the greens weren't little gem but rather romaine! The steak was hard to cut and tough in parts even though it seemed cooked medium rare as ordered. Mushrooms had no flavor but the sauce was tasty. Potatoes looked as if they had been made a few days ago and reheated. Desserts were the only highlight. Almond cookie was perfect as well as the flowerless chocolate cake which was tasty. Cant believe how much we paid for such a disappointing meal! Grossly overpriced. Service was friendly and good
Virginia H — Google review
I had genuinely looked forward to dining at this restaurant. However, the experience left much to be desired, especially considering the hefty $900 bill for 7 people. The food quality was quite mixed. While the Caesar salad was truly great, the steak was mediocre at best, and the dessert was disappointingly below average. Our kids were still hungry after the meal, which is never a good sign. Adding to the mixed experience, the service was also inconsistent. While J. tried his best to smooth out issues, E. was a condescending waiter. A significant point of frustration was the unseen $48 corkage fee, especially given their own overpriced and mediocre wine list. This felt like a complete rip-off. Ultimately, for the same price, we would definitely prefer to go to other Palo Alto establishments, like Ethel's Fancy, where we feel we get much better value and a more satisfying experience.

Steak house
Sundance The Steakhouse is a classic steak lover's paradise that has been serving specially aged prime-graded steaks and the freshest seafood since 1974. The restaurant offers an opulent dining experience with its candlelit mahogany dining room, intimate leather booths, and romantic ambiance. Whether for a celebration or a special date night, Sundance provides excellent service and an extensive wine list to complement their mouthwatering menu.
This place is so not my vibe. But I still had a really nice time. It’s very very old school. The service is incredible. Lots of people who are really good at what they do and have a lot of pride. The menu has quite a few items you might not expect. The prime rib was perfectly cooked and the au jus it came with was incredible. I even asked them if I could take it home with me and they happily packed it up. This is definitely a place I would take my grandparents if I was trying to impress them. I typically prefer weird fusion modern restaurants, but I still really enjoy the food here.
Sarah H — Google review
Palo Alto has many options for great food experiences. Sundance had an amazing staff and warm ambiance but several of the steaks missed the mark. My advice, if you like rare, ask for extra rare. Medium rare...go rare...and so on. Appetizers and deserts were wonderful and the wine was very reasonable.
Michael C — Google review
Sundance Steakhouse & Wine Bar in Palo Alto delivered a stellar dining experience centered around their signature prime rib. Starting with a cup of New England clam chowder, the meal set the tone with its comforting creaminess and rich seafood flavors, immediately standing out as a memorable appetizer. The highlight was the prime rib, beautifully cooked and perfectly marbled, with just the right balance of savory depth and subtle seasoning. The accompanying sautéed mushrooms added an earthy, umami punch, while steamed carrots and broccoli provided vibrant color and a refreshing contrast that balanced the richness of the beef. The au jus and creamy horseradish sauce further elevated each bite, making the dish both classic and indulgent. The ambiance at Sundance combined traditional steakhouse elegance with welcoming warmth. Crisp white linens, attentive service, and well-crafted drinks added to the sense of occasion, making the meal feel special without being stuffy. Every course was prompt, thoughtfully plated, and made for a relaxing, memorable evening.

Had the pleasure of dining at one of Bay Area’s finest steakhouses, Sundance The Steakhouse, located at El Camino Real in Palo Alto, CA. Started with sautéed sea scallops and hibachi ahi sashimi. I guess I chose a day where there was a big party and waited a bit before we received out entrees. Luckily the appetizers were yummylicious! Heard so much about Sundance’ prime rib and this dish most definitely did not disappoint! We ended our dinner, with their famous Sundance mud pie. Simply delicious 👍🏽

We've eaten here a number of times over the years for both lunch and dinner, and the service and food is really good. Thomas, our server is excellent, and he's been our server a few times. You get Boudin's sourdough bread which is really good. We've had the Tempura mushrooms and fillet mignon spring rolls, which are addictive. The lobster bisque, ahi sashimi are very good. Unfortunately, when I had the Ribeye it was slightly chewy and I'm a Ribeye guy. The Chilean seabass and New York steak were delicious. Also each entree comes with a choice of two sides. Update: Recently decided to have dinner at the bar with Oz, the bartender who's nice and attentive. Everything we had was really good! Tempura mushroom, Chilean seabass, jumbo prawns linguine, and of course some drinks. Several weeks ago, we had dinner at the bar with Oz, who's fantastic! My wife wanted fish, so Oz recommended the grilled fresh Salmon, which was really very good. We also had the Prawns Puttanesca, that was also really good, and you get a lot.

Great ambiente, great food, surprisingly good cocktails (best espresso martini I ever had). Found the steaks at Flemming's a tiny bit better.

Great place for stake. Food was good as well as service. They offer separate rooms for bigger group, which makes gathering cozy and friendly.

Mexican restaurant
Sancho's Taqueria is a Mexican eatery adorned with traditional artwork where they serve delicious fish tacos and other authentic Baja dishes. They offer great flavors and ensure both quality and quantity in their servings. The carnitas are perfectly tender, although the chicken falls short. Their hot sauce lacks heat, so those seeking spice should request an extra spicy option.
Good restaurant to get in, get your burrito and get out. If the weather is nice, you could sit out and have your lunch right there. They could definitely modernize their payment system though.

Ordered the chimichanga plate. It was mid and small. Like 4 inches. I came at 11am so one of the first customers . Rice was dry for just being opened so I think it was old. I did like the refried beans. I also ordered kids black bean and cheese burrito and didn’t like it. FYI, They only take cash unless you order online

Very tasty food. My favorite is grilled fish taco and my kid's favorite is supreme carnitas burrito. The owner is super great and cares about his customer's food experience. Once I picked up my order one hour later than had planned. He said it's cold and not as good any more. I said it's ok I would reheat at home, but he insisted and ordered the kitchen to make a new one for me even though it's totally my own fault not picking it up in time. Really appreciate him going the extra mile doing what he didn't need to do and just caring about customer's experience!

Good flavors, and they don't skimp on quality or quantity. Carnitas was just the right tenderness. Chicken was a pass. Hot sauce is not hot - I guess you need to get extra hot if you really want something spicy. Counter staff guy might need no polish up his personality a bit. He may not be clear on some hospitality ground rules. Nice that they have shady patios both in front and back of the restaurant.

Incredible food. Best Mexican in the Bay Area. A true hidden gem. Generous portions usually mean mediocre food, but not at this place! High quality, very worth going out of your way.

Sancho's was highly recommended by someone while I was in town for work and didn't disappoint. The fish burrito was one of the best if not the best fried fish burritos I have ever had. You can order online and pay with a credit card if you do not have cash.

When I come here, I’m here for the fish tacos. They’re super tasty. Tried the quesabirrias the other day and they’re great, too! Downside is that it’s cash only. I don’t always have that much cash on me and the price of eating out catches me off guard a lot these days.
