Stanford University, located in Palo Alto, California, is a renowned private research institution established in 1885. The campus features striking historical architecture with a Spanish colonial revival style. Notable alumni include the founders of Google, Hewlett-Packard, Nike, Sun Microsystems and Yahoo!. The university's expansive grounds are considered among the most beautiful in the world. With an acceptance rate of less than five percent and attracting top-tier students globally, Stanford University maintains its prestigious reputation as a leading educational institution.
I was there for my son's graduation. What a beautiful campus. It's also HUGE. Be prepared to walk a lot. They have a free shuttle, but the steps and routes seem limited, but it's free. I walk with a cane. Whenever I tried walking somewhere, a golf cart would zip up out of nowhere, and take me where I needed to go. They also fed all of the families extremely well. The food was great, with fresh and unique choices, and the portions huge. We were never asked for a penny to pay. The whole campus has a very welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. It was a great change from what we have seen from those in our government lately. I was quite impressed. I would give them more stars if I could.

I just visited Stanford University, and it was an incredible experience. Walking through the Main Quad, visiting the Hoover Tower, exploring the Cantor Arts Center, and strolling around the Arizona Garden made the campus feel alive with history, art, and natural beauty. Every corner of Stanford inspires learning, creativity, and exploration—it’s a place I’ll never forget.
Dr.Bhargava B — Google review
One of the top universities in the world and in the Ivy League university of the United States. It has a very distinct architecture that attracts a lot of visitors from around the globe. The campus is quite large and very pleasant to walk around on a weekend. There are plenty of tourist in the area along with the students as well. Plenty of historical significance of the buildings and signage around the area. There are many pictures spots in the campus. A nice place to visit.
Avais S — Google review
Stanford University is one of the most beautiful and prestigious campuses in the U.S. We visited as a family and were amazed by the blend of historic architecture, open green spaces, and peaceful courtyards. The Main Quad, Hoover Tower, and Memorial Church are all must-sees. The campus is clean, well-organized, and perfect for walking or biking. Tip: Start at the Stanford Visitor Center for maps and tips, and wear comfortable shoes—it’s a large campus. Whether you’re a prospective student or just sightseeing, it’s an inspiring place to explore.
Pezhman R — Google review
Stanford absolutely lives up to its reputation as one of the most gorgeous campuses in the US! The 8,000-acre grounds are stunning, starting from the iconic Palm Drive entrance lined with Canary Island palms. Hoover Tower is a must-do for $8 - the 360-degree views from the 14th floor observation deck overlooking the entire campus and Bay Area are incredible! The Main Quad with its Richardsonian Romanesque architecture is breathtaking, and Memorial Church is definitely worth stepping inside. The biggest surprise was the Cantor Arts Center being completely free with the world's second-largest Rodin sculpture collection outside of Paris - art lovers shouldn't miss it! Parking is coin-operated at $1.50/hour but free on weekends which is nice. They offer guided tours on weekdays (need to book ahead) but self-guided with the free map works great too, taking about 1-2 hours. I'd recommend visiting on weekdays for a more authentic academic atmosphere and fewer crowds. The whole campus feels like a beautiful park - no wonder so many tech leaders came from here!
Eliz G — Google review
A top prestigious university with a beautiful, spotless campus — truly vast and breathtaking. It's such a dream; I might never have the chance to study at a place like this in my lifetime❤️
Tinh J — Google review
Stanford University is such a beautiful and prestigious campus! It’s open to the public, and you can freely walk around and explore. I recommend wearing comfortable shoes since the campus is quite large. Make sure to visit the art museum too it’s full of fascinating history and definitely worth checking out
Rui L — Google review
Such a beautiful campus, with many places to explore and walk around! The Stanford Oval is spectacular, with views of the main square, church, and roses forming the famous "S". We walked around the main square and Memorial Church, with were both pretty and amazing. The campus is very well kept, and there are many sculptures scattered around. Overall an amazing place to walk, explore, and attend for university!

Baylands Nature Preserve, also known as Palo Alto Baylands Nature Preserve, is a vast marshland covering nearly 2,000 acres in the San Francisco Bay area. It offers 15 miles of trails for walking, running, and biking, making it perfect for outdoor enthusiasts. The preserve is home to diverse bird and mammal species and features a unique blend of tidal and freshwater habitats. Visitors can also enjoy bird-watching and kayaking in this ecologically fascinating area.
Spectacular bird watching spot in the Bay Area. Also saw a pretty speedy hare. The volunteers and organizers from the Preserve are passionate and open to answering all my questions. Joined this adventure after a seasoned bird watcher friend suggested and found this educational. Got to see a ton of birds, their habitat and hear their songs. Also learned about Fernando, the flamingo. Got a chance to view feathers under a powerful microscope to inspect the pigments. Calm and peaceful. Also has a few picnic tables and a huge parking lot.
Arthika K — Google review
Absolutely love Baylands Nature Preserve! 🌿 It’s one of the most peaceful and beautiful spots in the Bay Area. The birdwatching here is amazing tons of nesting birds and wildlife all year round. The sunsets are breathtaking, especially from the pier, where the sky lights up with incredible colors. 🌅 The hiking and walking trails are well-kept and perfect for a relaxing stroll or jog with gorgeous views of the marshlands. Every visit feels refreshing and full of natural beauty. Highly recommend for anyone who loves nature, photography, or just wants a quiet place to unwind!
SK H — Google review
I utilize the Stevens Creek bike trail that connects you to the Baylands Bike trail that runs through the Baylands Nature Preserve. Awesome views as you cruise or walk along. All types of wildlife. There are ample places to stop along the way for a break or to just enjoy the view and the breeze that comes off the water most days. I visit daily and would recommend anyone in the area who enjoys outdoor walks or activities to visit.

This place is amazing, endless trains for running, hiking or just sitting around bird watching or enjoying the nature. Lots of parking, and great place to watch the sunrise.

Nice sunset, but better don’t stay too late after sunset, I was stalked by a pervert, it was super terrifying!
Miley H — Google review
We didn't see much wildlife the afternoon we were there, but.... what an expansive, serene spot in the middle of the Bay Area! SO many trails and benches all around as well. Lots of signage for trails and the wildlife as well. Nice job🌟
MarkLouise W — Google review
absolutely stunning place to hang and take a stroll. pretty flat hiking tracks
Sayan M — Google review
This is an all-around great spot to enjoy some nature trails. I often walk the trail that runs right alongside the runway for Palo Alto airport (KPAO) and the trail eventually wraps behind the golf course. I frequently see groups of bird watchers in this area as well, so I guess it's also a good location for that (if that's your sort of thing). There's usually plenty of parking here as long as there's not some event happening. I've found most of the bikers here to be friendly as well, so I never had an issue with sharing the trail between walkers and bikers).

Museums
Non-profit organization
Nestled in Mountain View, the Computer History Museum is a treasure trove for anyone fascinated by the evolution of technology. Just a stone's throw from San Jose, this museum offers an engaging exploration of computing's past and its profound influence on our world today. With an impressive array of artifacts and interactive displays, visitors can encounter groundbreaking machines like the ENIAC and discover the stories behind industry pioneers who have shaped our digital landscape.
This is a must see place for people who are interested in technology. The place is conveniently located near google main office complex. You can see the complete history of how computers were invented and their progression to new generation computers. There is a section on robotics which I liked the most. The place also has a coffee shop and a store that sells souvenirs and apparel’s specifically made by them. On weekends sometimes you may see some free entries for specific company employees and families, so please check if you are from a company that is offering a free entry on a specific day or weekend.
Vikas M — Google review
The ticket are cheaper if you do a donation on the website. I was happy with the museum, the story of computer development comes from counting and measuring systems and moves slowly to counting and first codes and decoding and moves to devices. I would bring kids in different ages, but go through museum together, so they will see the full timeline.
Kira C — Google review
The computer history museum is a must visit for anyone that uses a computer. That’s everyone! Seriously, if you haven’t been and you live in the area, make the time— the “revolution” exhibit alone will take the entire day and if you go on the correct day, you can have the pleasure of seeing the PDP-1 come to life. They turn on the IBM 1401 daily and will print you a fun memento on a 1402. Check the times for guided tours, you will not be disappointed! The docent are amazing and passionate. Still not sold check their calendar. They have regular events called “tech fest” the most recent of which was 90s themed and they brought out the museum of art and digital entertainment from Oakland for playable 90s video games. There was even a 90s dance party on the lawn complete with Skip-it and all the 90s jams. Plan a visit and learn something new about the tools that surround us and power our modern lives!
Mason Y — Google review
If you care at all about where modern computing came from, this is a must-visit. The Computer History Museum offers a near-encyclopedic sweep of computing’s evolution — from abacuses and early mechanical calculators to mainframes, personal computers, software milestones, and beyond. The artifacts are real, many rare, with detailed context. The storylines are well-curated: hardware, software, social impact, all woven together. Highlights: the IBM 1401, the Babbage Difference Engine, classic gaming and electronics, well-done interactive displays. Staff are knowledgeable and engaging; docented tours add depth. The layout gives space to breathe, read, reflect — not just dash through. Some caveats: Exhibits are often text-heavy; if you’re not already interested you may find yourself skimming. Also, to truly absorb everything — you need at least 3-4 hours, more if you want to dive deep. Overall: it delivers serious educational and aesthetic value. Worth every minute and every dollar.
Olga N — Google review
It was way more interesting than I thought. Even my kids enjoyed it. Definitely has a wealth of information as well as interactive displays. I was only able to see half the museum in two hours. I went two hours before closing. Wish I had gone earlier in the day.
Zaigham A — Google review
Best field trip ever thanks to Jesse and Steve! I took my class of graduate students and our minds were blown away by the amazing collection that they have. Highly recommend booking a docent tour or going on one of their public tours to better understand the historical significance of everything that you’re seeing!
Pia Z — Google review
Visiting the Computer History Museum was truly eye-opening for me. There was so much to see, and every corner made me feel like I was discovering something new. The history of computers isn’t just about machines — it’s about ideas, creativity, and how people kept pushing forward. I found it fascinating to see how technology evolved step by step, from simple early devices to the powerful computers we use today. Standing in front of those old machines made me realize how incredible our current technology really is. Overall, it was a place that made me think a lot, learn a lot, and appreciate the history behind the devices we take for granted every day.
Mjung K — Google review
It's an amazing geek place with a very detailed timeline view of evolution of computers. Very very interesting for people with technical background. Ideally needs atleast 3-4 hours to really engage

Nestled in the heart of Palo Alto's cultural scene, the Palo Alto Art Center has been a hub for art enthusiasts since 1971. Boasting both indoor and outdoor exhibitions showcasing local Bay Area art, this center offers an immersive experience for visitors of all ages. From summer camps to art classes, it provides numerous opportunities for artistic exploration. Situated near Rinconada Park and Rinconada Public Library, the center's prime location adds to its appeal.
A place to view and participate in art making. Its a lovely building right next to the riconada library. It has both inside and outside exhibits. Inside are adult and child studios where people can go to make different forms of art. I saw people painting and making pottery. The children’s exhibits are really cool. Outside are different pieces, many from an artist who used trees as his main material. Its really something.

I especially enjoy the ceramic exhibits here. One of the front desk staff though can be a bit dismissive of the beauty of the exhibited work, which surprises me!

The Palo Alto Clay and Glass Show is in the top tier of craft shows in the area, if not the best. The Palo Alto Art Center does the community a real service by making quality crafts available to a sophisticated public and educating those who aren't so well-set to what constitutes quality.

This is a fun shopping mall here in Palo Alto California. It’s completely outdoor and it’s not a huge problem due to the great climate here. It has your typical big department stores like Macy’s and Nordstrom but also many other familiar franchises. A few restaurants and cafes to choose from as well. A fun filled time for the whole family. 😎👍
Yodaman S — Google review
Loved the open-air vibe with all the greenery and fountains—it doesn’t feel like your typical mall. Tons of great stores, from high-end brands to cool local shops. Grabbed a bite at one of the cafes and just enjoyed people-watching. Perfect place to spend a relaxed afternoon shopping and soaking up the Silicon Valley energy.

This is a really big and spacious shopping center! I’m amazed by the number of seating areas available, especially for university students. It’s such a great spot if you want to study outside, with its airy and nature-friendly architecture. You can easily spend hours walking around, window shopping, or people-watching. There are lots of sports shops, high-end brands, and there’s even a very cute cat town!
BA — Google review
A bit underwhelming… there is not many stores here compared to other malls such as the Roseville Galleria which also carries most luxury brands. I do enjoy shopping at Loro Piana and Tiffany but this particular Hermes isn’t my preferred location. Overall I would not go out of my way to visit here.
Komal K — Google review
I've had a ton of experiences here and they've always been good! The place is well kept and clean, with tons of options offering everything you could ever imagine and need all in one place. The food spots are also delicious, and well priced for this style of mall. The parking situation can get hectic at times, but you'll find a spot!

Such a fun place for the whole family! My 2.5-year-old absolutely loved exploring every part of the museum and the zoo. It was so sweet watching him make connections between the animals and the characters from his story books. 🦒📚 Everything was clean, tidy, and thoughtfully organized. There were so many little nooks and hands-on areas to discover — perfect for curious toddlers! We also spent some time at the outdoor playground right outside since the weather was nice. Overall, this is a wonderful spot to take your little ones. We’ll definitely be coming back!

A Fantastic Museum for Younger Kids - Plan for a Morning of Fun! The Palo Alto Junior Museum is a fantastic local outing for the little ones. We spent a Friday morning here and had a great time exploring everything it has to offer. It's very well-designed for its target audience. Here’s a quick breakdown to help you plan your visit: * The Three Main Zones: The museum is cleverly split into three areas. There's an outdoor mini-zoo with birds and a really fun treehouse/jungle gym. Another outdoor space is a dinosaur area with a sandpit where kids can dig for "fossils." The indoor area is full of hands-on exhibits like blocks, magnets, and a giant ball run. * Good to Know: It's not a huge museum, so it’s not overwhelming. We spent about 3 hours here and my kids felt like they had seen everything. It’s definitely geared towards a younger crowd (I’d say ages 7-8 and under). As expected, it was busiest in the morning and started to empty out around noon for naptime. * Pro-Tip: The best part is that there’s a large park right next door. It’s perfect for letting the kids run around after you're done with the museum, easily extending your outing into a full day, just remember to pack a lunch or snacks.
Colin H — Google review
This is a wonderful little place to bring your family for a few hours. We got to hear about Sequoia the eagle in the morning and feed flamingos in the afternoon. There's a fun treehouse you can climb around in. There are also interactive activities inside.

I highly recommend this place; your children will love it. This experience is one of the best my children have ever had.

Observation Decks & Towers
Hoover Tower is a prominent feature of the Stanford College Campus, located in the California Bay Area. Standing at an impressive height of 285 feet, it boasts an observation deck and exhibits showcasing Hoover memorabilia. Although COVID restrictions may affect access to the tower, there are many other free art exhibits on campus for visitors to enjoy.
Mid Dec2024 Apart from its identity as a fixed campus landmark the tower is a repository of records from their work at the Hoover Institute. It can get very windy and cold up the tower during winter so dress appropriately. Paid public or student guest free access. Always make an effort to chat with the guides and ushers who are often alumni of the uni to get a different perspective as well as added history on the tower. Also check whether there are any exhibits in the two halls flanking the elevator entrance. Lastly, special sessions with the bell organ can be heard if you check the schedules. Definitely worth at least an hour of more to visit this iconic Stanford building.
Oliver P — Google review
Great way to see the Stanford University campus! The elevator takes you 285 feet up to the observation deck with absolutely stunning views. My guide was very friendly and knowledgeable, I especially enjoyed the story about Lou Henry, Stanford’s first female graduate in 1898, who later married fellow alum Herbert Hoover, the 31st President of the United States.
Oxana O — Google review
Hoover Tower at Stanford University is a striking landmark with rich history and fantastic views. We visited with family and took the elevator to the observation deck, where the panoramic view of the campus and surrounding areas was truly impressive. Inside, there are also exhibits related to the Hoover Institution’s archives and historical research. Tip: Entry is affordable, but hours can be limited—check in advance before visiting. The tower is a short walk from the Main Quad and makes for a great photo spot. A must-see for anyone touring the Stanford campus!
Pezhman R — Google review
The exhibition galleries on either side of the entrance and the views at the top of the tower are very interesting and provide nice time to chill. The staff at the center are very friendly and helpful. I was so happy to meet and chat with Megan N at the information desk who, with so much of zeal, gave tons of information about the facility and provided guidance for my visit. Sreevidya at ticket counter was very courteous and helpful. On the whole, it’s a cool place to visit at the Stanford University.
Shankar C — Google review
A must if you’re in Stanford. I went with a friend who graduated from there and she was like “Man, how could I’ve missed this” hahaha. Beautiful views of the campus and on clear days you even see SF
Giorgio S — Google review
It is great place to learn the history about Hoover Couple, their education, business and political life. You can pay $8 person to take elevator to the top of tower to take 360 degree view about the whole campus. Feel so good when you stand the high point to view the campus. Really impressed about it. Worthy to pay to do it. They also list the Watergate important inside story. Worthy to recommend friends to visit here.

Elizabeth F. Gamble Garden, located in the Old Palo Alto neighborhood, is a 2.5-acre public garden that provides a peaceful retreat from urban life. Originally the property of Elizabeth F. Gamble, granddaughter of Procter & Gamble founder Frances Gamble, this historic garden features herb and rose gardens, a historic home, a carriage house, and a tearoom. Visitors are invited to wander through the colorful blooms and themed gardens at their leisure.
Excellent variety of plants with real edible vegetables and fruits and berries, it's free and very well maintained and wide variety and many plants to see, but not what you would see or the size you walk when you pay the 40 bucks for the other garden not far away.

This garden is always beautiful, clean, and uplifting—a true hidden gem in PA! The volunteers put so much care and heart into maintaining it, and it really shows. I recently joined the Gardener’s Hour session and loved the knowledge, laughter, and sense of community it created. No matter the season, it’s a wonderful place to visit and I highly recommend it!

This is a true gem! The flowers are absolutely stunning with vibrant colors that make the whole garden come alive. Everything is so well maintained, from the pathways to the beautifully arranged beds of seasonal blooms. It’s peaceful, relaxing, and a perfect spot for photography, a quiet stroll, or just enjoying nature’s beauty. Highly recommend visiting—especially if you appreciate gardens that are cared for with such love and detail.

I was looking online about this garden. Honestly, I thought that it’s going to be very big based on the map, but it’s just a medium-sized garden with a house. I think that this garden has been here for decades and workers took very care of that garden. There weren’t many people visiting this garden probably because I came here on Monday, but there were pretty nice gardens and flowers to look at. It also has a green house and a two-story house I believe. Idk if anyone lives inside that house with a garden, but probably the Gamble family has been living there for a while. Otherwise, it’s most likely an office, museum, or used for something else like a preservation. I wanted to stop by here since I like going to gardens and taking pictures of plants and nature. Honestly, there wasn’t really much here since the garden isn’t really big, but it’s still a nice place though.

Mid-Sept 2025 First time visit to these gorgeous gardens. My favorites are the dahlias. The whimsical bunny topiary is so fun too! I didn't enter the buildings, simply walked around the gardens on a warm weekend afternoon. We will be back soon. Maybe I will not wear sandals next time - I ended up with itchy ankles after my daytime visit. Plenty of street parking; however there is a parking lot on the premises.
Ali C — Google review
This is a true gem in the Palo Alto neighborhood off of Embarcadero! The Gamble family would be proud to see the property open free to the public/7 Days a week. A nice variety of flowering plants, shrubs, and trees. A must visit if you are in the area. Parking can be limited during busy times. The all volunteer PA Garden Club does a great job to maintain the gardens.

It's just a small garden in PA neighborhood! We stopped by there in middle September, garden has little flowers to show off! If you are visitors from other towns, you may skip it to save time for other interesting places in PA

Beautiful, serene, zen, and FREE! This is one of the many beauties of Palo Alto. I will certainly return to relax, meditate, or read. The variety of flowers and plants are enough to keep you occupied and entertained. This is also a lovely area for photographic opportunities. Parking is free along the street. Please, be respectful and kind with no littering or doing any harm to the plants.

The Stanford Dish is an iconic radio telescope located on the grounds of Stanford University in the scenic Stanford foothills. Built in 1966 by the Air Force, it was originally used to study the atmosphere and communicate with satellites and astronauts. The 3.5-mile paved trail around the Dish attracts hikers and joggers, offering stunning views of San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, and the East Bay.
Amazing place for a super and long hike. Most of the trail is open and hence check the weather before hitting the trail. Excellent site for birding but need to go early in the morning or late in the afternoon. Parking space at the trail head is limited. The trail is completely asphalted.

Definitely worth the walk / climb! A really well maintained track with fabulous views across Stanford University campus and the San Francisco Bay.
Stuart C — Google review
Try to wear a hat and get a good sunscreen if you are going for a trail. Wear good shoes, some parts can be really steep. The view is quite nice. One can see the two cities San Francisco and San Jose from the top.
Sanchayan B — Google review
Nice place to go for a hike. It does get a bit boring as it's just a big loop / circle. But it has a quite a bit of wildlife ranging from squirrels to woodpeckers to coyotes at times.
Vignesh M — Google review
Parking was east, Google maps takes you to a neighborhood, need to turn back. First hill is steep, but overall a pleasant walk.
Thomas H — Google review
The Stanford Dish is a fantastic hiking spot right on campus. The loop trail is about 3.5 miles and gives you a mix of moderate uphill climbs and easy stretches. What makes it special is the wide-open views — you can see across Stanford, Palo Alto, and even the Bay on clear days. It’s named after the large radio telescope (“the Dish”), which is still used for research and is the landmark of the trail. Along the way you’ll spot plenty of wildlife like hawks, deer, and rabbits, plus seasonal wildflowers. There’s no shade, so bring water and a hat, especially in summer. But overall, it’s one of the best places for a morning walk, run, or just to enjoy nature while staying close to campus.
Rajesh C — Google review
I have been running this trail for 20 years and I love it. For Runners or Walkers: NOTE there are multiple entrances. The one near page mill road is roughly 3.2 miles. The entrance near Alpine Rd and 280 is 5.3 miles. This is a beautiful hike with a lot of incline, so you’ll definitely get a workout here. This area is famous. A couple of tips for you as you plan: - Leave nothing in your car. It will be broken into if you do. -Bring a hat or sunscreen. There is no cover or shade! -Bring comfortable shoes. If you have knee problems, this can be challenging. -Bring water, they have people who get rescued here a lot for dehydration. -Use the bathroom before. No bathrooms except for a portable one on the page mill entrance -Stay in the trail and respect the nature. Keep this place beautiful. And most importantly, enjoy! This place is beautiful and an important historical place.
Brendan — Google review
Enterance at Alpine Road will take you to 3 uphill slopes to get to 2 hiking trails. I think these 3 slopes are the most challenging and once you get through them then the rest of the hike is not too challenging. I'm not an experienced hiker so if I can do this almost anyone can. 😂

A truly unique and beautiful church in Silicon Valley. Very peaceful, fits a lot of people. I had the chance to listen to some organ music during my visit which took me back to the times when I visited churches throughout Europe. Please be respectful- cover up your shoulders and don't wear shorts inside the church. Also please keep your voice quiet.

The staff at Stanford Memorial Church were incredibly kind, well-organized, and a pleasure to work with. Their warmth and professionalism added a level of comfort and ease for both the couple and myself, ensuring everything flowed seamlessly on the day of the wedding. The Museum of American Heritage, located in a charming 1907 home in Palo Alto, offers an enriching experience for families and history enthusiasts. The museum features rotating exhibits that delve into daily life from the late 19th century to the 1950s, including a well-curated General Store. With over 5,000 artifacts on display, visitors can explore technological innovations that have shaped American history over the past two centuries.
Amazing FREE museum that shows off quite a lot of history and small trinkets and artifacts. They've even incorporated some interactive pieces like an old telephone that you can hand crank. Lego Baylug also hosted their Lego display here and it's cool to see all the lego creations (temporary exhibit).

Today was my first opportunity to visit the Museum of American Heritage (MOAH) on Homer Ave, across from Heritage Park. What an awesome place! It was initially a residence designed by the renowned architect Ernest Coxhead for a family named Williams, built in 1907. Lovely gardens! Love the vintage print shop. A new temporary exhibit opened today, “Trains, Games & Wheels.” Much fun! And free!

How did I never know this existed?! Really nice items and descriptions. Part historic house museum, part historic gadget museum. There's a small play area at the end as well that my kid liked (there were trains and blocks for him to play with). Small and only open Friday - Sunday, but it is free and has a beautiful garden.

Palo Alto has a few little gems tucked away and this is definitely one of them. While it’s not going to stand up to big capital city museums this is a fun way to spend an hour, with helpful volunteers on hand to talk you through the exhibits. What’s more entrance is free. Bargain.

Artifacts from the last 100 plus years. A working jukebox. This museum was originally a doctors house and you get to see some of that history. Theres also a model T in the back garage and working printing pressed, going all the way back to gutenburgs model, and showing the evolution. The curators are eager to explain the history of anything you are curious about. Also free! Great museum!

Nestled within the Stanford University campus, Cantor Arts Center is a renowned museum showcasing classic and contemporary art. Boasting a vast 38,000-piece collection across 24 galleries, it offers free admission to visitors. The center features rotating exhibitions by world-class artists and houses an impressive array of art, including the famous Rodin bronze sculpture collection. The highlight of the center is the Rodin Sculpture Garden, which displays 199 sculptures by Auguste Rodin.
Mind-blowing museum and totally free! The Cantor Arts Center at Stanford is one of those hidden gems that completely surprises you. The building itself is beautiful—elegant architecture, light-filled rooms, and peaceful energy throughout. What really blew me away was the range of art: ancient artifacts, classical European paintings, modern photography, sculpture, video installations, and even a vintage train and curated historical displays. One moment you’re admiring a Renaissance portrait, the next you’re watching a moody film piece or examining early motion studies. It’s like traveling through time and across the world—all under one roof. The indoor-outdoor layout is perfect. You can wander through the galleries, then take a break outside in the sculpture garden or courtyard. Even if you’re not usually into museums, this place is so well done that it just pulls you in. And the staff? So kind and helpful without being overbearing. You feel genuinely welcome here. Whether you’re visiting Stanford or just in the area, this is a must. You could spend 30 minutes or 3 hours and still leave feeling inspired.

Beautiful place to enjoy artsy environment. A gem in the middle of Stanford: free entrance, free art kit for kids, and plenty of places to enjoy the art. We came here during weekday in the afternoon, there was no wait, some group of students came in for field trip. Appreciate the owner of this place so much. What a legacy!

A powerful and thought-provoking experience. The Cantor Arts Center surprised me deeply. I came in expecting a typical university museum—and left moved, inspired, and full of questions. The Second Nature exhibition was particularly impactful: bold, raw, and unapologetically urgent. Some works felt overly constructed, others struck me like quiet revelations. But overall, it was a meaningful encounter with art, nature, and our responsibility as humans. Highly recommended for anyone seeking more than just pretty pictures.

This museum is free, easy to navigate, and fun for kids. The collection is diverse—everything from ancient artifacts to contemporary pieces—so there’s always something interesting to see. The building itself is beautiful, elegant, spacious, and clean, and staff (volunteers) are quite helpful and friendly. The outdoor sculpture garden is a highlight, especially for kids who need to move around after looking at art indoors. It’s a great balance of culture and fresh air. You could easily spend a whole day here, and since admission costs nothing, the only expense is parking and coffee, - if you visit the small cafe. Great place for a laid-back visit, whether you’re into art or just looking for something different to do.

Stanford Theatre, located on University Avenue in Palo Alto, is a historic independent movie theater that first opened its doors in 1925. After nearly 40 years of entertaining the community with Hollywood movies, it underwent restoration in 1987 by the David and Lucile Packard Foundation. The restoration brought back the theater's original grandeur from the Golden Age of Hollywood and reinstated a weekly lineup of classic movies.
Gorgeous theatre, one of my absolute favorite places to go. The concessions are delicious and priced very fairly, the staff is extremely helpful and kind, I always love to see them. I cannot praise this theatre enough, especially when it comes to their film selection. The organist is the highlight of the showings, for sure!

The Stanford Theatre is an all-time American experience. The essence of the picture show. Comfortable seats, exceptional interior and the most authentic experience you could wish for. If you’re visiting San Francisco, make it a part of your trip. It’s worth the travel. Wow. Incredible. First time was tonight an 855pm showing of darling Clementine. The usher was so friendly and convinced us to try the theater. Tickets are inexpensive. The theater is magnificent. The snacks are reasonable it's like going back to when I was a kid. THERE WAS A LIVE ORGAN PLAYING WESTERN MUSIC BEFORE THE MOVIE STARTED INSTEAD OF ADVERTISEMENTS. I loved this experience!!!

Always a great place to watch classic movies on the big screen. Admission and refreshments are reasonable. It can be very popular so make sure you get there in time to park and get inside before the film starts. You will be treated to a little music beforehand. Plenty of places around to grab a bite or beverage before or after the show too.

This is a fun place to watch a movie if you want to go back in time. Their prices are very reasonable for a classic show and snacks. You even get a double feature, which hasn't happened in a regular movie theater in decades.

For movie lovers, this place is as close as we can get to heaven. The Stanford Theater is one of my favorite places on the planet - as soon as you get to the box office you’re going back in time. $7 for a double feature! $1 for a small popcorn! The theater has been beautifully restored with so many classic posters hung on the wall. And the music! Between the second and third showings of the night, an organ player rises through the stage and plays through the intermission. I love this place and I’m so grateful for it.

A bustling Saturday morning crowd accented by colorful produce booths and street performer music. I really enjoyed this little market and appreciated the selection of vegetables available—green onions, cilantro, fresh garlic, & so much more. Rambling from booth to booth, tasting samples of fresh peach slices on one end to flavorful dipping sauces on the other (“Roti Pakistani Authentic Food”). Great way to start the day.
Ariel J — Google review
Very comfortable little marketplace. Don't come here expecting lower-than-grocery prices, although the quality of the produce is rather expectional. I often see that the vendors who provide samples get more customers. Here are a couple places that really stood out: - Smit Farms My god is this farm amazing. Owner is very cheerful. What really spoke to me was the indescribable quality of their nuts. The flavor of the Applewood smoked almonds took me by surprise. The honey roasted almonds and butter toffee almonds are also incredible. After having a couple of those, I couldn't stop thinking about them. They also have crazy juicy cherries. - Go Nutty Some of their savory nuts beat the deliciousness of Smit's. They're quite good with spice. I recommend the Siracha nuts. - Kasaiwase Farm I highly suggest you try their Flavor Rosa Pluots and their Roboda Apricots. Especially the apricots. - Shampa's Pies The guy at the stall is very likeable! The friendliest vendor in the market. Best pie I've ever had. Try the walnut one or the sweet potato pie. Love that they offer delivery services! A must-have on Thanksgiving. - PanoRama Baking Company Delicious and visually appealing breads! Extra: Satkar 's Indian Cusine offers huge $2 samosas (3 for $5). They are yummy & very filling. In addition, [Forgot Name]'s Pecan Macaroons are a must-try. $0.85 a piece. Unbelievably chewy, malty, cool and airy. Also, give Mulberry guy a visit!

Nestled in the Palo Alto and Los Altos foothills, the Pearson-Arastradero Preserve is a sprawling 600-acre open space offering a mix of grasslands and woodlands. This dog-friendly preserve features over 10 miles of marked trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. Visitors can enjoy stunning vistas of the San Francisco skyline while exploring the pristine nature trails that wind through picturesque rolling hills adorned with poppies in spring and golden grass year-round.
Really nice for hiking all year round but especially beautiful after some rain when the hills turn green. Couple of benches along the trail have really nice views. Parking can be hard to find on weekend mornings but there are a few street parking spots across the road. There are restrooms at the trail head, next to the parking lot.

Great place for a quiet walk. lots of ground squirrels and birds. the parking lot is a bit small. less crowded after 2p. we walked on the west side of the road, up to Arastradero Lake. v quiet, great views. a coyote stood and watched us for a while and trotted off.
Andreas R — Google review
Had a great hike here in late April. Grass was green, wildflowers and birds were all over the place. A full loop of the preserve (my preferred route) is about 6 miles and fairly gentle by Bay Area standards. This isn't pristine nature by any means; it's sandwiched between a horse pasture and a golf course with mansions along the rest of the perimeter, and there are power lines along the creek trail for some reason. But none of that spoils the scenery and the easy accessibility is one of this place's big virtues. Expect to have to hover for parking on nice weekends, or park at Page Mill and Arastradero and add an extra mile each way.
Luke P — Google review
The main parking is very dusty. So get ready to get your car washed after parking there. So are the rest of park trails. You can literally smell the pungent dust during large swathes of the trail. But overall it's well marked. There are well maintained toilets by the parking lot
Avisek N — Google review
This was a beautiful place to walk in nature when we had the drought. But now that we’ve had rain it’s just stunning. You see golden hills with green oak trees, pink tiny wildflowers, red tail hawks, and the lake is so serene that it mesmerizes you if you can stop in the middle of Silicon Valley. There are dragonflies of many species, butterflies, mama birds taking care of young in the water and more. Do be familiar with what poison oak looks like so you can avoid it. Then take a breath and enjoy!
Deniece R — Google review
This preserve is home to a variety of plant and animal species, including oak trees, wildflowers, deer, and a variety of bird species. The trails wind through rolling hills and offer breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. I particularly enjoyed the Arastradero Lake Trail, which follows the shoreline of a serene lake and provides opportunities for birdwatching and other wildlife sightings. The trails themselves are well-maintained and clearly marked, making it easy to navigate the preserve. There are also several interpretive signs along the way that provide information about the local flora and fauna, as well as the history of the area. It's a great place for a fun weekend hike!
Krussh — Google review
Nice parking lot, free, beautiful views, small visitor center with information about local wildlife and Ohlone history. Nice bathrooms. Parts of the hike have little to no shade so bring sun gear. The trails are gravel and dirt (not wheelchair or stroller friendly). Great place for families. Wish the hikes were a bit more accessible.

Gifted with an hour of spa. We enjoyed a big round hot tub, cold water tub and steam room for an hour in a private room. It made one of the best gifts ever. It was so relaxing , and still felt the relaxation the next day. 🤔 making it a regular treat.

In desperate need for a chill date, my partner and I decided to book a hot tub and sauna room here at Watercourse Way. Though it would’ve been much easier to just book the room online, calling over the phone wasn’t too bad and they do have a lot to explain as well. Anyways, from the start of the experience it is great. They offered us tea or water right away and showed us to the room. It was super relaxing, clean, and spacious. We really enjoyed the ability to cycle between the cold plunge and hot tub and sauna. Overall it was a very relaxing time and I could not complain about the experience.

WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE! Treated myself on my birthday to the hot tub/sauna (Eight Stars) + a 1 hour deep tissue massage with Stacy and I’m beyond satisfied!!!! Best massage I’ve ever had and the kindest people I’ve ever encountered.

My pics are of the six dragonflies room which was great - it had both tuscan and Nordic vibes. I wouldn’t recommend it for people with joint pain as it took me a few tries to figure out how to safely get in the ginormous wooden tub. With tax and tip it was $60 for an hour so not something I will do repeatedly.

We visited this bathhouse recently, and the water had such a strong chemical or sanitizer smell that it actually burned my skin and eyes during the soak. Our skin is itching and irritated for several days afterward — even till now and it’s something that’s never happened to me at any other spa or onsen. It’s disappointing because the place itself looked nice, but clearly the water treatment isn’t being handled properly. I’d really recommend avoiding this bathhouse until they fix the issue with the chlorine or sanitizer levels. Definitely not worth the discomfort.

We got a gift card to this place and we were excited to try it out. We get massages regularly and i have never had such a poor experience. Staff was friendly, everything was clean and beautiful but when i say i literally got a back rub, this is no exaggeration. The masseuse played with my hair for 15 minutes of the 1hr massage. We will not be coming back.

Today was my first time at Watercourse Way Bath House Spa and I chose the “Five Elements” program with master Aaron. I really enjoyed it! The master was very attentive, gentle, and always made sure I was comfortable. The salon is clean, with pleasant music and excellent specialists. Thank you so much — I’ll definitely come back!

Amazing, friendly, welcoming, and relaxing atmosphere and environment. The staff are so incredibly friendly and the place was neat and clean. Came for a bachelorette weekend for one of my dearest friends. And watercourse was so helpful in booking our reservation! It was well organized and well communicated. We stayed at the Nine Bats and Eight Stars hot tub rooms and it was gorgeous! Will definitely come back!

Established in 1922, it is the city's second oldest park and features modern equipment for children and adults to enjoy.

It’s always a fun place to spend a few hours and let kids roam. -Play Area: Two playgrounds, including inclusive structures. -Amenities: Swimming pool, tennis courts, picnic areas. -Shade & Scenery: Mature trees and shaded seating. -Accessibility: Paved and inclusive playground equipment. -Parking: Street and on-site parking options. -Good for: Families, nannies, caregivers, daycares

The tennis court at the park is excellent—well-maintained and perfect for playing. Like many popular courts in the Bay Area, it can get busy at times, so you might need to wait for a spot. But it’s worth it for the quality of the court and the overall experience!

Very large park really well located on the free cross city bus line, and next to the library and arts center. There are tennis courts and basketball courts here, as well as large open grassy areas and other areas completely shaded by large trees. There are a few playground areas and a school connected to the park which is fenced off. The star of the show is an olympic style pool, which looks to be in great condition. Its a great place to bring kids or just watch the local wildlife.

Situated within the grounds of Stanford University, Hanna House is a renowned architectural gem in Silicon Valley. Constructed in 1936 by Frank Lloyd Wright for Stanford professor Paul Hanna, this residence stands out as the architect's first creation devoid of rectangular angles. Visitors can immerse themselves in a weekend trip that includes admiring the landmark Stanford Dish radio telescope and exploring the Cantor Arts Center before embarking on a tour of Hanna House.
Magnificent work by Frank Lloyd Wright! Our tour was led by an experienced docent who was very knowledgeable, friendly and patient with all questions asked. There were lots of interesting facts covered about the design, construction and interactions between the Hanna Family and Frank Lloyd Wright. The house is well preserved and maintained. Grounds are meticulously kept. It is amazing that such a tour is even made available to the public, albeit in very limited capacity. I'd suggest booking early online. Highly recommended especially for the architecturally inclined, and a must for Frank Lloyd Wright fans. Truly a treasure!

I am a grandchild of the Hannas. I have so many precious memories tied to this magnificent, ahead of its time home. I believe major damage from Loma Prieta quake is still being repaired. I toured it incognito before the quake when it was free, but you needed a reservation. My grandparents' ashes are buried on the property under one of their favorite fruit trees. Read up on the home before you go: absolutely fascinating story of the inception and building of the home in Jean and Paul Hannas book "The Clients' Report." Enjoy the tour and imagine a young, ambitious Stanford Professor of Education and his partner wife raising their family there In the 30s and 40s.

I knew one of the University Provosts who lived in the house and visited the house too many times to remember when I was a student. Back then it was a home being lived in and being enjoyed (I even swam in the pool). It’s so sad to see it’s current state.

Baylands Golf Links is an 18-hole par-72 golf course offering stunning views of the Baylands Nature Preserve and San Francisco Bay. It caters to all experience levels, featuring practice greens, a driving range, and skilled trainers for beginners. The traditional links style with rolling fairways and undulating greens provides a challenging yet enjoyable game.
I imagined the wind would be my nemesis. The greens, however, were complex and nuanced. Fairways were generous and stayed true to their namesake. I enjoyed my round despite not scoring well. I'm excited to play Baylands again.
B E — Google review
It's definitely a nice course, plain and simple design, not much up and down hill, no water, while a lot bushes, you need to prepare a lot of balls just in case. What's interesting is that Baylands is located right by the Palo Alto Airport, you will see small planes taking off when putting in Hole 2. If you ask if I would come back and play here again, answer is no
Bill L — Google review
Honestly there are much better courses for $90 (Bay Area resident rate) in the Bay Area. The fairways had a ton of dead spots. Greens and bunkers for good. The course is challenging, especially in very windy days. 6100 yards from the blue tees plays more like 6500+ because of the wind. Practice areas were nice, but again, for $90 I expected more out of the actual course. The starter was also unfriendly. When asked if I had played there before, I said "first time" and he let out a deep sigh like he was annoyed he had to explain the course and the meaning of the different OB stakes.
Stephen L — Google review
This course has really gone downhill. On the first hole, the fairways are lush and very nice, but as you go through the course, you see that the course has become troubled with the gopher holes, inconsistent bunkers filled with either mud or sand dunes, which are deep and difficult to get out of, and huge patches of bear dirt. The tee boxes are also very inconsistent some of which the grass is very long and very far from smooth. The greens were consistent. But here's the worst part, Palo Alto, which is a liberal bastion has deemed that anywhere off the fairway is a sensitive environmental area. The starter takes it upon themselves to threaten you before you round. If you go in this sensitive environmental area you're subject to being kicked off the course. The only other interaction I had with course staff was on the back nine at a par five where I pulled the cart off the cart path onto the grass. I was chastised for being too close to the Green. The cart was actually parked 5 yards from the green, and 2 feet from the car path. I do this so others can drive by if they need. The round cost $120 for 18 holes, a cart, and a small bucket of balls. Really not even close to worth it.
Jack W — Google review
This is a course you need to experience at least once to appreciate the renovation

Five stars for Baylands' lost and found system and its outstanding staff, Zephram! My daughter's Apple Watch was lost on the course, and after reporting it, Zephram not only found it the next day but also held onto it safely for over a month until we returned from our summer vacation. His professionalism and truly helpful attitude were incredibly impressive. Thank you, Zephram and Baylands!
Tracy C — Google review
Place is in bad shape. Definitely not worth over $100 to walk. Update: The GM reached out and let us know that their grass has seasons apparently. He offered us to come back and check the course out during prime time season, and he was right, we were all impressed with the conditions of the course. We will definitely be back to play again. Hopefully they can get some discounted rates for the off season of the grass

Tamarine is a contemporary and upscale Vietnamese restaurant that offers a variety of small and large plates meant for sharing. The restaurant emphasizes the communal aspect of dining, serving family-style entrees along with six types of rice, soups, noodles, salads, and starters. Guests can also enjoy rotating exhibits of Vietnamese paintings displayed on the walls.
Tamarine is a nice restaurant for fine dining. I find the ambiance to be great, and their specialty drinks were top-notch. The lamb chops were exceptional. I enjoyed the family dining concept. The entire approach is luxury from the curtain you must pull back to enter to the exceptional service you receive during your visit. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a next level fine dining experience. The food arrived hot each time, and my cup was never empty. They had numerous excellent wines paired with each course. I never had to do anything more than look up to find an attentive person present to meet my needs. I look forward to returning to Tamarine in the very near future.

Service was okay, server did not ask us if we had questions or needed recommendations. She wasn’t around when we needed her generally. They had a very cute setup for the birthday we had. The food was hit-or-miss. I don’t love fried foods and a couple of our orders were fried like the prawns and calamari appetizers so I just wouldn’t get those again. I also did not love the corn fritters. The entrees, like peach burrata salad and the tiger prawns + noodles, were excellent. Kiwi mockjito was my favorite drink.

1/12/25. Upscale Vietnamese restaurant in downtown Palo Alto. Excellent food with friendly, knowledgeable staff. The wine list is not too long with prices in the 2X range. Pricing is on the higher end. Our cost for five people not including drink was $100 per person. They do tap on a 20% gratuity (parties of 4+) and a 4% employee “benefit” automatically. I can recommend the dumplings, Tamarine Taste, Prawns, Sea Bass, Chicken Curry, Cauliflower, Roasted Squash and Coconut Rice. Desserts are outstanding. And, you should have a cup of Vietnamese Coffee! Yes, I would recommend this restaurant.

So so good Came here for a team offsite so we got the pre fixe and was able to add an additional dish My favorites - shaking beef with arugula - grilled tiger prawn. Tasted like it was soaked in fish sauce and charcoal grilled, it was great. The garlic noodles was also good - Brussels sprouts was so good - beef tartare on tempura seaweed hors d’oeuvres - lamb was deliciously seared and so juicy Was pretty good - vanilla ice cream scoop over berry crumble - seared wagyu carpaccio Wouldn’t get next time - roti - spring rolls - calamari was ok but some people liked it - tofu was ok but some people loved it

New American restaurant
Restaurant
Protégé is an upscale dining destination offering pre-fixe New American cuisine and an extensive wine selection. The restaurant is a collaboration between Anthony Secviar, a chef from El Bulli, and Dennis Kelly, the former master sommelier of The French Laundry. The dining room features a tasting menu showcasing Secviar's captivating cooking, while the lounge offers equally intricate à la carte options.
I chose Protégé for our anniversary dinner on a Tuesday evening, booking the last available time slot. When we arrived at 6:30 pm, the restaurant was already lively with patrons, yet street parking was plentiful. We were warmly greeted by the host and seated in the main dining room near the bar. The atmosphere struck a balance between intimate and vibrant—cozy lighting, a view of the open kitchen, a large glass wall looking outside, and a playlist mixing old classics with current pop hits created a welcoming ambiance. Our server, Patrick, was attentive and took time to explain the menu and share thoughtful recommendations. We began with oysters, milk bread with butter, and the crab & caviar. Each starter was brought out promptly and plated beautifully. The oysters were incredibly fresh, and the milk bread—soft, warm, and paired with rich butter—was an instant favorite. The stone fruit salad and the octopus were highlights of the night, both recommended by Patrick. The salad was a surprisingly delight, perfectly balancing sweet and savory with a deep, cured flavor I wouldn’t have thought to order myself. The octopus was tender and artfully presented with olive oil foam and a bright, flavorful sauce. For mains, we shared the brick chicken and halibut. The chicken was juicy with crispy skin, served over a well-seasoned fideuà that paired beautifully without overpowering the dish. The halibut was equally impressive, accented by crunchy toppings that added texture and flavor. Dessert was both playful and refined, the 18-layer Dubai chocolate cake and the mushroom cap cookie. The cake was stunning, with layers of nutty pistachio and just enough bitterness from dark chocolate to balance the sweetness. The mushroom cookie, subtly fragrant with maple and served alongside ice cream, was whimsical and memorable. We also sampled three cocktails, all well-crafted. The Match Made in Honey was a highlight, while the Old Fashioned was perfectly balanced. Overall, the dinner and service were excellent. The only touch I felt was missing—given it was a special occasion—was a small gesture such as a card, something I enjoy collecting from restaurants each year. That said, Protégé may not be that kind of establishment, and the experience itself was more than enough to make the evening special. I’d happily return to explore more of their seasonal offerings.
Lo — Google review
I love the special, which was a Focaccia with persimmon, prosciutto, and ricotta. The chef really put thoughts into this. Highly recommended, and we each got two pieces of it. We also enjoyed the desserts, which were a slice of pistachios cake and a slice of fig soufra. The fig soufra was paired an ice cream we thought was almond or saffron. The only thing I’m not quite getting was the cauliflower entree, which was a little too sweet for me. The rice on the cauliflower dish was great though. Overall, a really positive experience.

What a time. We had booked a reservation for 7:45 on a calm Tuesday evening. After being greeted by the host we were walked over to our table for 2 in the lounge area for the a la carte menu. Immediately the attention to detail caught me as the host brought out water and poured some into our glasses. Afterwards, our server Annie greeted us and offered a very detailed description of each dish. She said that normally people order 1 item from each category on their menu: “snack”, “appetizer”, “entree”. I suppose, abnormally, my partner and I opted for 2 snacks, 2 appetizers, and 1 entree. The two snacks we chose were the Lobster Chips and the Crab and Caviar. Lobster Chips were subtle in flavor with really nice balance and texture. The Crab and Caviar, is super hyped up, and it was good, but I think the hype was too much. It was really delicious with really punchy flavors all balanced together nicely, but at the end of the day it is just egg, crab, and caviar for 35 dollars. For appetizers, we chose the Spanish Octopus and the special of the night, the Mochiko Fried Softshell Crab. The Spanish Octopus was by far the best bite we had that night. Incredibly tender, while crispy and charred, the octopus left me confused. I couldn’t understand how it was possible to have octopus be that texture. The Softshell Crab was indeed quite special as well. It had a ton of bright flavors from the subtle spice to the sweet and sour grape tomatoes. Everything in that dish was great, but when compared to the octopus, it simply couldn’t compete. Eventually, our Brick Chicken arrived. With perfectly crispy skin and juicy chicken, this was quite a delightful dish. It left me savoring every bite in awe of everything we had to eat thus far. After the savory items were completed, the server rolled over the dessert display to explain each option. We opted for the Layered Pistachio Cake as it seemed the most complex, and it definitely did not disappoint. The flavors were subtle, but they included wafers to create contrasting textures. The ice cream on top was also perfection. We also received a complimentary Vietnamese Coffee Ice Cream which had really nice strong coffee flavor, however the texture was rather ice-y. Beyond the food, the thing that makes this restaurant really special are the people and the service they offer. Whether it is noticing the small details like topping up your water or just crumbing between the dishes, they maintain a very clean aesthetic. The attitude of everyone working there also adds a lot to the experience. During this meal, I actually made plans to ask my partner to be my girlfriend. All I had done was make a short note on the reservation, but they took it and ran. They wrote a little note, and gave us a free dessert. Shortly after, I saw some of the chefs peaking over at our table with a thumbs up. Essentially inquiring whether my question was successful or not. After replying with my own thumbs up, I saw them pumping their fists and cheering for me. The whole experience at Protégé was perfect!

Had a set meal event for work. Was excellent except the main “brick chicken” was not great. A bone in thigh which was hard to eat. Otherwise very good. Desert was good. Space is nice.

I visited to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. Every single menu of the 7-course was really good. My favorite was the Trout dish. The outer layer that looked like the skin of the trout was actually the sauce. The trout was well-cooked, and the sauces and Riesling wine paired with it went really well together. I was a little disappointed that there was no separate wine pairing menu. My boyfriend paired a new wine with every menu. Thanks to that, I paid an additional $400. I supplemented the 14 days aged steak with A5 Japanese wagu, which was really good wagu, but it was too rich when eaten with deep fried mushrooms, so it wasn't that good. And the Tokaji that I had as a dessert wine was also great.

We love this place so much. We’ve dined at the best restaurants in the world including Oriole, Alinea, and Benu this year and Protégé remains our favorite. The Foster Museum, located in Palo Alto, is a unique private non-profit establishment that showcases the watercolor wilderness journeys of artist-explorer Tony Foster. It stands out as the sole museum in the United States to house the collection of the Foster Art & Wilderness Foundation. The museum's location was previously used by Lucile Packard Children's Hospital for ambulance facilities before its recent transformation.
Visited October 2024. A unique and utterly captivating experience. Lived in the area several years before I heard about Tony Foster's amazing work and the local museum exclusively exhibiting his work. The museum is free but appointments are required. This only added to the excellent experience because it felt like a private/exclusive viewing. The visit can be done in 1-2 hours if that's all you have but it would be easy to stay longer returning to re-view earlier exhibits. Art enthusiast and outdoor/nature lovers alike should visit but also that adult or child who thinks they won't enjoy viewing art in a museum. Kids should be closely supervised but the museum is family friendly with various activity stations set up in some of the exhibit rooms. Restrooms are available and once inside the museum there are no stairs or unlevel surfaces, not sure if strollers are permitted.

It was a lovely museum, we spent about 2 hrs there with a 6 year old. There are several kids friendly activities stations which they can craft, draw and color. We were impressed on what can be achieved with watercolor and how Foster spent his time exploring the nature and built awareness of respects to nature. Recommend to anyone who loves drawing and watercolors!

A must visit if you are in the area! Such incredible talent. Tony's paintings are just amazing. The detail is breathtaking. It meant so much to us seeing some of the places we have visited in America on show along with some pictures of our beautiful Cornwall especially Luxulyan Valley where we walk often. We were staying with our son and daughter in law locally and were so pleased we could visit the gallery this time. All of the staff were so accommodating, kind and knowledgeable. Thank you.

Believe the hype! I went here based on the great reviews and I had an amazing experience. Stayed for almost two hours and it wasn't nearly enough time to immerse myself as much as I would have. I'm not exactly an art buff, nor a nature buff, but as someone who loves to travel and learn, I found so much to enjoy in this unique artwork. The audio tour accompaniment - especially getting to hear the artist himself navigate you through his work - was a great addition. The museum staff were lovely, as well.

We went to Mitchell Park on a Saturday and spent some wonderful time there. Magical Bridge Playground is truly one of the standout play areas in the area! Parents can relax in the shaded section equipped with benches and tables while their children explore the diverse range of attractions, including roller slides, steep slides, regular slides, and various spinning contraptions and swings. The park also offers amenities like artificial grass and cardboard pieces for sliding. Adjacent to the playground is a library, providing convenient access to bathrooms and a quiet spot for reading or decompressing. Ample parking makes it easy to access, and the park's spacious layout includes volleyball courts, a dedicated children's area, and plenty of open grassy spaces for picnics. During our visit, we encountered a vibrant mix of park-goers, from moms pushing strollers to high schoolers enjoying volleyball, and even dog walkers. Observing the diverse tapestry of life in the park was quite fascinating, highlighting the beauty of nature and community. Given the excellent weather and the park's natural charm, we're already planning our next visit. It's a wonderful place to celebrate the outdoors and everything nature has to offer.

We brought our dog from San Leandro to avoid the firework chaos. We were taking him to a dog-friendly park. To our surprise there was a community party going on with a musical group, food vendors, community wellness help tents, and games. The park was very clean and well maintained. There were portable toilets and brick and mortar restrooms. It was a pleasant surprise coming to Mitchell Park. We were also surprised they offered free water, but not sure if it was tap or filtered.

My daughter loved the Park specially Magical bridge. There are lots of playing options for kids for all ages. Also very good place for picnic. It has big ground where you can sit and relax, have food and enjoy the afternoon. There was also a local band was performing and had a great time. There is no parking or entry fee for the park however can help magical bridge to expand by donating. Small banners posted for donations. You can easily spend 2-3 hours here.

The HP Garage, famously known as the Birthplace of Silicon Valley, is a landmark steeped in tech history. Established in 1939 by visionaries Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard, this humble garage marks the inception of Hewlett-Packard (HP). While visitors can't enter the site itself, they can admire it from the street and appreciate its monumental role in shaping modern technology.
HP was founded here in 1939. It is also known as the birthplace of Silicon Valley. The garage holds historical significance as the place where Hewlett-Packard (HP) was founded in 1939 by Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard.
Dr D — Google review
When you hear company X was founded in a garage, you imagine a hole in the wall with a spare tire kit lying around. Well, this place is quite elegant for a garage, to be honest. I’d live in that garage if I was from 1939. I mean, this is Palo Alto. Nowadays, this garage would fetch something like, what, 2,300$/month with a shared bathroom? Anyway, if you’re interested in tech, you should pass by this place some time. It’s a very interesting historical location, and it will be even more interesting in the future. It’s really incredible what followed from this place, and seeing the beginning of this behemoth industry with its incredible innovation and scale makes you think how big ideas are born from humble, yet ambitious beginnings. This is a Stanford professor and his students we’re talking about, and it’s not this part that is particularly humble, but rather it’s the idea itself: a start-up in a garage developed an audio oscillator and started up the culture of Silicon Valley in its entirety. Being in the right place at the right time is important.
Abdulla J — Google review
It was truly meaningful to visit the HP Garage for the first time, especially after starting my journey with HP 18 years ago. Back then, knowing the incredible heritage of the company and growing up reading about Hewlett and Packard was deeply inspiring. Being able to visit this iconic place after all these years brought back memories of that initial excitement and reminded me how innovation often starts in the most unexpected places. Thank you, for keeping this amazing place intact! 🚀 #HPGarage #Innovation #SiliconValley

Italian restaurant
Terún is a refined Italian restaurant and pizzeria located on California Avenue. Despite its small and intimate indoor seating, the ample and comfortable outdoor patio provides a delightful dining experience. The restaurant offers a variety of Italian dishes, including homemade pasta, southern Italian entrees, and Neapolitan-style pizzas cooked in a wood-fired oven. Terún has gained recognition for its high-quality cuisine, being named the best Italian Restaurant by the readers of Palo Alto Weekly.
We went today and the experience was fabulous. As Italian food lovers , we can assure you that everything from the Chef's antipasto to the house dessert carries a unique flavor of Italian cuisine. Each dish is prepared with fresh ingredients and handcrafted. We will definitely be back.

Unreal. The gnocchi is top notch. The bufala mozzarella pizza was crisp, light, and tasty. We got the vegetariana with burrata. Best burrata we ever had, period. And the veggies were cooked really well. The sangria rossa was lightly sweet, fruity and refreshing. Service was quick and attentive. Fantastic dining experience. Overall, an amazing place that we definitely will be returning to.

The reviews are true! This is a great spot to grab a dinner on a date night or with your family. Lots of outdoor seating, too, We were greeted by a hostess who sat us right away. You can park in the lot a couple of minutes away. Delicious pizzas, pastas, and appetizers. We had the magherita and nduja pizza. Loved the heat. We were concerned about time because we needed to catch a show, but the food came out promptly. Our server, Gaby, was attentive and friendly. They have a solid selection of Italian wines, by the glass and bottle, as well as cocktails and beers. You HAVE to try their house made limoncello!! So good- on par with limoncello I’ve had in Italy. We didn’t get to try the dessert, but will have to next time we return. Keep this place pinned in your places to check out!

Definitely the best Italian restaurant in the South Bay. The pizza is chewy and the pasta is so flavorful. The cocktail is wonderful too. Good spot for lunch, you might need reservations for dinner.

Food was excellent! The pizzas and pasta are delicious. Prices are fairly high but service can definitely be better. They almost forgot one of our entrees and other things we needed.

We had such a great experience at Terún! The pizza was absolutely delicious, perfectly wood-fired with that authentic Neapolitan flavor. We also tried the special, a brochette of chicken wrapped, and wow, it was amazingly tasty! Tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was excellent. A perfect spot for a cozy dinner or a night out with friends. Highly recommend this place if you’re in Palo Alto and craving quality Italian food 🇮🇹
Wissam A — Google review
This might be the best Italian food in Bay area we tried so far. Best burrata ever, both Margherita and Porcino pizzas were great, veggie soup is amazing, seafood risotto is very special, and finally delicious Panna Cotta desert which is very hard to find anywhere. The owner was a very nice person too. This area of Palo Alto is also very walkable and looks like a European town.

Love this place! Obviously their pizza is fantastic, but actually, everything on their menu is fantastic!! It is authentic. This place gets so extremely crowded every day of the week, not just weekends, so make a reservation. Great place for groups so you can order everything and share. Leaving for dessert!

The Google Android Statues Square is a compact square featuring colorful mascots representing different versions of the Android mobile operating system. Each time Google releases a new version, they add a statue to the lawn in front of the Android development teams building, with each statue representing the codename for that particular system, always named after a sweet treat.
This place is small but quite cute and interesting especially if you are with kids. It made me hungry walking around so many yummy looking statues :) It's in the middle of the Google campus which is as big as a small city :) and cute to see all the colorful Google bikes there too. Not sure what the campers were around there - maybe the homeless crisis hit that area too or people just prefer to live by their office in a camper/RV :)
Mariana J — Google review
As a Google and Android fan, I was excited to check this out. The area was a bit surprising. It's on a part Google's campus that you definitely wouldn't expect a tech company to be. It seems like they converted old rundown apartments into office space. All of that aside, the Android dessert statues were fun. It's a small area. It's easy to get some pictures with your favorite Android desserts. The most disappointing part was that they weren't maintained. Many of them had chunks taken out of them or paint peeling off. It's right next to the Google Merchandise store and a quick stop for both of them.
Jacqueline T — Google review
The photos online make it look amazing. It is not anymore, sadly. The statues are broken down, faded, and ruined with masks. I'm still (mostly) glad I saw it, but I won't be going back unless I see online that it's been updated. I thought the area they were in would be bigger too. With all of Google's money, you'd think they could keep their sculptures nice looking. Google maps didn't navigate you to it well either. Oh and the whole area is roped off.
Jessica A — Google review
I enjoyed visiting the Google Android Lawn Statue Park! The statues, although slightly weathered, were adorable and fun to snap pictures of! The park is pretty small, and can be viewed quickly if you only have a few minutes. Parking was free, and it easy to find a spot on a Saturday morning. I definitely recommend stopping by, especially if you have young kids.

BEAUTIFUL!!! Everyone was cheerful, had great attitudes , very friendly. This facility is so Huge. I would love to get to actually go inside and get a tour. And it's only getting bigger. They have people letting you know where to go, how to get back if you get lost. And the diversity of cultures. Man that's WONDERFUL. Hopefully I can get a chance to get a tour.
Steven A — Google review
Badly maintained. You can see the paint peeling off of many statues. Reportedly, Google moved these statues from all over the campus to this single place for better tourist crowd control. Also there was no nougat ( 6.0 ) or the latest pie ( 9.0 ) as of May 2019. The latest one was Oreo (8.0), if you wanna take pic next to it. Honeycomb looked interesting. But definitely lower your expectations before visiting. Update: Separate Android pie and Oreo statues are present in other places.
Vignesh M — Google review
If you are an Android Fan you can take some great pictures here with the different Android Statues. The park is also conveniently located right next to the Google merchandise store. Location of the park is a bit of shame, feels like it is shoved into small corner of the campus right next to freeway. Also some of the statues could use a bit of TLC - some repair and another lick of paint.
Helena G — Google review
Nice small space to check out some of the android robots and the app/iOS systems they run on. Lollipop, marshmallow, jellybean and more. Kids and adults seem to love it equally lol. The Google merchandise store is around the corner too, the weird thing about this place is the Google visitor center is only open to Google employees and not actual visitors...

Event venue
Shoreline Amphitheatre is a popular outdoor music venue located in San Jose, California. It was built as part of the Shoreline Park project and has a capacity of 22,500 people, including 6,500 reserved seats and a large grass lawn accommodating up to 16,000 guests. The amphitheater has hosted numerous renowned artists and bands over the years and is also known for hosting various music festivals such as Lollapalooza and Country Throwdown Tour.
Visited Shoreline Amphitheatre for Google I/O 2025, and I must say – what an incredible experience! The venue itself is iconic, nestled in the heart of Mountain View with a scenic backdrop and a layout that blends open-air energy with solid organization. From the moment I entered, the staff and volunteers ensured everything was smooth – quick check-ins, clear signage, and a great flow of people. The open lawn seating offered a relaxed vibe, while the structured seating closer to the stage made it easy to focus during keynotes and product announcements. The sound and visuals were top-notch, as you’d expect from a tech giant’s annual developer conference. Despite hosting thousands of attendees, the space never felt overwhelming – there’s something magical about the combination of cutting-edge innovation and fresh California air. Bonus points for food trucks, chill zones, and interactive booths around the venue. Google really knows how to use every inch of Shoreline to deliver both inspiration and comfort. Whether you’re here for a concert or a conference like Google I/O, Shoreline Amphitheatre is a venue that delivers the full experience – energy, views, vibe, and functionality all in one.
Nikhil S — Google review
It’s a great place to see a concert. My only recommendation is to get there as soon as you can because - as usual for the Bay Area - traffic to get to the parking lots becomes a bit of a mess - tho the parking lot attendants are pros and friendly - and they do a good job managing traffic - you still have to wait for all the cars to move as the streets can only handle so much traffic
Mark H — Google review
The venue is super nice and the food options along with food trucks is pretty good. Staff is helpful and there are plenty to help with directions as well as plenty of security. I was surprised with the amount of leg room - it was enough to dance in without falling 😂. I would arrive early, read the subreddit on the venue. I purchased easy-out parking. It has a dedicated lane and I was out in 10 min. There is a free option with Lot E that was open at 4pm where there is a back exit but I did not want to risk it and end up in the exit crush.

Saw Cyndi Lauper’s Farewell Tour and she was AMAZING!!! First time at this venue it was beautiful. No wait to enter venue. Parking was a little crazy long lines. Took 40 minutes to finally get parked. So glad I had sprung for the premium reserved parking, well worth it!!! Hey I even got to see a picture of the Queen of Rock and Roll Tina Turner when she played there in 1997!!!

Great place for a show! Great prices, good food, and great bands. Parking is easy and free. If you want to park closer you will need to pay more. Your choice. Workers and services are very polite and engaging. Love the open air feel.
Pick 1 — Google review
The venue has always been great. We attended on a Friday night and then again on a Sunday night. However, the parking situation can be torturous. The signage for the different lots is almost non-existent until you arrive. Then, the people that are running the traffic breaks seem to not know what they're doing. We watched them dropping cones in front of cars to stop them, picking it up, and then setting it back down, without any traffic flowing through intersections and the were no pedestrians, at that time. Sunday night seemed to be worse than Friday. We were almost missed our headliner. Thankfully, she took the stage late. Allowing for our 45 minute,1.5 mile entrance into the parking lot. It would have been faster to walk in as a pedestrian or ride a bicycle. Then it was to drive in. However, leaving the lots c and d and premier parking. Was the easiest thing we've ever done at this location. If you can afford to pay for one of these lots, it's totally worth it. When leaving we were out and onto the freeway in under 5 minutes.

Fun place to visit. I was at Stanford University to have my IVC filter removed and thought, hey, what a great idea, let's check out the Final Frontier. While I enjoyed myself at the center, I will visit SpaceX next time. Oh wait, Elon moved to the Republic of Texas. My bad.

I was very excited to visit the Ames Research Center earlier this month! I am glad the VTA 51 bus stops nearby. First of all, I must mention that I had high expectations of the gift shop when I saw older reviews of when it still contained an exhibit. So when I finally arrived, I was disappointed to see almost nothing I saw in the pictures. Today I learned that all of the cool stuff had been moved to the Chabot Space & Science Center. The fact that I didn’t know was mainly my fault, however, I should have checked before going. Still, the Ames gift shop was a neat place. The bulk of what the store offers is clothing, but I bought a poster of the ISS and a Metal Earth model of the Voyager space probe design. I wished there was more merch of spacecraft and rovers, because I love those! The cashier was very sweet and helpful and let me use the bathroom when I returned later. Additionally, I took walk around the boundaries of the research center, since the public cannot enter it. There is lots to see and admire from the outside, and if you travel far enough near Google Bay View, you will reach a nice trail. All-in-all, visiting the Ames Research Center was a 4/5 experience, and I would like to do it again.

Located in the charming town of Los Altos, the Los Altos History Museum offers a captivating journey through the region's past. Housed in a well-preserved Spanish Colonial Revival-style building, this museum features both permanent and temporary exhibits that showcase the area's transition from agricultural land to a vibrant part of Silicon Valley. The outdoor apricot orchard pays tribute to its agricultural heritage. Visitors can explore interactive displays and artifacts, including the 'Crown of the Peninsula' exhibit tracing local history.
The LAHM is such a sweet, beautiful and lush venue, tucked away in Los Altos! They have a gorgeous red brick patio with lights already strung across to make any event feel like moderate sized garden party. For our wedding, we loved having a beautiful natural backdrop for our ceremony, but also a space with room for mingling during cocktail hour and for kids to run around (though if you have a kids free wedding, the event space is still perfect!). They were so generous in allowing us to use the Smith House for the bride to hide away while guests arrived, while also giving us space in their main museum to store the belongings of our wedding party. All around, I couldn't imagine a better wedding venue for us! Lisa P. started after we had reserved our date and once she was our point of contact, things couldn't have been easier! She was so helpful and communicative. We even lost one small item on the day of the wedding and she was so diligent in ensuring it was returned to us quickly and easily. We highly recommend the Los Altos History Museum for your event!

We had such a great experience hosting our corporate team-building event for ~60 people at the Los Altos History Museum! The venue is beautiful — we used both the full courtyard and the galleries, and it worked perfectly for our day. Our event had a few moving parts, including a scavenger hunt, full catering for breakfast and lunch, and even a magician/mentalist — and the space handled it all seamlessly. The amenities were super convenient too. We had a shuttle drop off team members, and those who drove had no issues finding parking. Lisa was amazing to work with. She was responsive, helpful, and incredibly accommodating — from the early setup to coordinating all the logistics. Our team had a great time, and the smooth transition between indoor and outdoor spaces made the whole experience feel effortless. We also selected Heirloom as our caterer from their approved vendor list, and the combination was smoother than I could have even dreamed! Would definitely recommend for events — both personal and corporate!

We were married at the Los Altos History Museum on a Sunday evening in June, 2025. The venue was perfect, with gardens in bloom, a beautiful courtyard, plenty of space for cocktail hour, dinner, dancing, and so many great sites for photographs around the Museum grounds and exhibits. We had the museum at the top of a short list before we went to visit, hoping for an outdoor venue for a wedding with a family reunion feel. We were blending a large multi-generational family with roots on the East and West Coasts, and the museum grounds feel like a perfect blend of New England and California summertime, with a brick courtyard, large heritage oaks, and historic buildings. The secret gift in booking the venue, though, was Lisa Porter, the Museum’s Event Coordinator. Lisa was responsive, professional, knowledgeable about every detail we could think of, and had so much helpful advice at every step of the planning process. She worked exceptionally well with our vendors and made it easy for them to get information and support whenever they needed it. She was present through rehearsal and event; she told us when we first met that she would be the first person to arrive and the last person to leave, available for whatever might come up. It was just beautiful at night; perfect for a summer evening wedding, and the “golden hour” glow is gorgeous in the photos. We held cocktail hour, dinner, toasts, and first dances outside, then moved the dance party indoors. We had 150 guests; there was plenty of space for everyone who wanted to dance, and the weather at night was still comfortable outside between dances for talking and mingling. We are so glad we had our wedding at LAHM; the setting was perfect, and Lisa made sure our plans came together just right.

We had a blast hosting our wedding reception here. Lisa was very helpful from the very first day where she toured the grounds with us, answered all of our questions, and helped us make the right decision. Throughout the process Lisa communicated with us and updated us as the day got closer. The week of, she was very attentive, very helpful, and accommodating, all of which are very helpful as the day approaches. On the day of, she was there, all the way to the end of the wedding, which was very nice. So many things are happening that day, and knowing she was working hard in the background, did not go unnoticed!! She helped keep our evening running smoothly and allowed us to enjoy the night. I would HIGHLY recommend this venue for anyone looking for a venue. It is a beautiful place, that honestly doesn't need much decor as the foliage and setting speak for themselves. Thank you Lisa and LAHM for making our night one that we will never forget!

We're so glad we found the Los Altos History Museum for our wedding! The venue was perfect for an outdoor reception with 170 guests. The space is well enclosed with lots of beautiful greenery. The orchard in the back was a perfect spot for portraits during golden hour. The museum wedding coordinator Lisa was responsive, accommodating, knowledgeable, and had lots of great suggestions to make the day flow smoothly. They also let us store supplies at the venue the week leading up to the wedding which was very helpful. The bathrooms are the weakest part of this venue. They're clean but not the nicest and a little hard to find for guests. On the whole a great venue and made for a really special day. Would recommend!

This is a very busy place. Avoid it during the "rush hour" because you will experience close encounters with pedestrians and vehicles. Over the last year, I've experienced rude, impatient people who pull out in front of you. Honking horns like it's going to make the many other people move out of their way. This is the only place in Palo Alto, I've experienced this level of rudeness. People in the area are aware, courteous, and respectful. If you must go here, plan your trip early and leave your rude attitude at home.

Fish sandwich was epic today! Added some cheese so it was filet o fish style. The fish was golden brown on the outside and flaky inside. The tots were crispy and the tarter sauce was tangy and creamy. There was even a special sauce that had boots on bc it was kicking so much ass 😂

This is a very authentic and nice American bar. You will find there is anything you need. Outside sitting is nicely in the shadow or even if you like it in the sun. They have a good variety of different beers.

One of the only bars in Palo Alto area that gives you the authentic feel of a pub. Great spot to grab a Guinness after work or to hang out with friends.

Vibes are great, cool space and good drink selection, but the head bartender guy is just the absolute worst. Seen him go on multiple power trips. In general not a friendly person and truly has soured the environment more than once.

This is a classic pub that we hangout with friends on a Friday night. The dart is great to enjoy. Most of the time, the place is very crowded and you might need to wait in the line. But like any great place, this is normal and it is worth waiting a bit to get our drinks. It is location wise very close to the other pubs and clubs so you can have your first drinks here then jump somewhere near. Happy to know this amazing pub💯

Fun spot for trivia, but the crowd management could use serious improvement. We’ve had a table reserved each week, yet the same group keeps trying to crowd in—even after being told no multiple times. Last time, they claimed to be a party of 2, then showed up 7 deep and forced us into the corner. It’s frustrating, and it happens often. People also don’t hesitate to sneak looks at other teams’ answers, which takes the fun out of it. The venue would really benefit from more small tables to accommodate the turnout and avoid these situations. That said, the service is excellent—Marco is always friendly and on top of everything. The deviled eggs and masala tots are especially worth ordering.

Great, chill atmosphere to hangout and catchup with friends. They have 2 dartboards and plenty of seating areas indoors and outdoors. Service was great.

Visiting from San Diego and this place kills it. The staff is available to answer questions and if you are new to the area they'll tell you what's around the area. Regarding food, I had the pub burger and it was good. The patty was not dry and the fries were thick cut. I'll definitely be back when I visit the area again. Ps: They have an excellent selection of draft beers.

The Papua New Guinea Sculpture Garden at Stanford University is a small but fascinating public garden featuring 40 wood and stone carvings depicting people, animals, and mythical beings. These sculptures illustrate creation stories and cultural traditions from the inland Sepik River area of Papua New Guinea. The garden offers a serene setting with oak and cedar groves providing plenty of shade, making it an ideal place to explore unique sculptures from Polynesia and the Pacific Rim.
Such a nice and beautiful experience. It is not that big, however it is an incredible view to see all the different art pieces

It is small garden but it’s so amazing. Those sculptures are very uniquely caving. There are so many different pieces of wooden, stone, and some oak artists. The landscaping and sculpture from across Polynesia and Pacific Rim are just perfect together in this garden. This is such of treasure to me!

Very fun place for kids to get a sense of sculpture. It’s a small place with a lots of shades , especially in Summer. It’s a bit difficult for parking in campus. Someone told us that it is available for you to park in Tresidder parking lot at weekend. It’s hard for you to find a place for public parking without permission even in most of lots at weekends. Most of them are 7/24 restriction。

Farmers Markets
The California Avenue Farmers' Market is a popular destination for both locals and tourists in Palo Alto, California. Open every Saturday from May to December, the market features a wide variety of vendors offering fresh farm produce, baked goods, sweets, and more. With about 45 local farmers from nearby areas participating, visitors can enjoy an array of organic fruits, vegetables, nuts, and specialty items.
The Sunday California Avenue Farmers' Market is definitely one of my favorite markets in the area. There are tons of organic veggies, fruits and nuts. There are delicious bakery stands like Craftsman & Wolves and The Midwife and the Baker. This Sunday, I stopped at the FlipFresh spice stand. Chad is the owner and he was super knowledgeable and friendly. I got some ground sumac and I was blown away with how fresh it was. I sprinkled it on my quick lunch of hard boiled eggs, avocado, mushrooms, and radishes. The sumac added a bright, citrusy flavor to everything. I can’t wait to buy more spices next week.
Frida D — Google review
A fantastic farmers market. Has a range of options. What I like the best is the cost feeling. Surrounded by shops on the street, and packed well on either side, the market stalls look great!! I also saw a kitten adoption stall. Food options are good too!

Amazing variety of awesome fruits, veggies, meats, honey and bees wax products, cheeses, tons of unique foods. Loved it! My only qualm was the attitude of several of the attendees. Aggression and lack of social awareness in many of the older people made it a bit weird. One guy even flipped me off because I was “in his way” at the open market.

We have gone every week, rain or shine, since we moved to CA. You simply cannot understate the quality of the produce. Once you taste the difference, you come back for the fresh veggies, fruit, and mushroom... We also get our cider, pastry, fresh bread, dried fruit and nuts, and flowers for our balcony here, you can find many other things. Sure, some of the dairy and meat is expensive and maybe not for every week, but good to have around!

Byxbee Park, located within the Palo Alto Baylands Nature Preserve, is a picturesque destination for outdoor enthusiasts. The park offers sculpted earth and conceptual art, making it popular for birdwatching, cycling, and walking. Visitors can enjoy expansive spaces for dogs to run and play as well as panoramic views of the bay and rolling grasslands. With well-maintained trails suitable for all ages, it's an ideal spot for leisurely strolls or more challenging hikes.
Absolutely no shade. The park has long stretches of walking trails on top of small network of hillocks right by the backwaters. On hot days you have no shade - and the gravely top on the trails radiates heat. And the whole area can get breezy so not great for winters either. So pick your timing carefully. A few public art features (chevrons and the windwanes) are interesting. Big plus, you could sit there and watch the small planes land into the airport - nice past time for unplugged evenings. The chevrons, I think, are there to guide the planes into the airport, but that’s my theory.
Anil P — Google review
There is an airport for small planes so you can see plans a lot here and it felt close than I thought. The trail seems large and long to walk around. it was good to walk and you can bring your dog.

This a great place in the Palo Alto bay area for a scenic walk around the bay. There are many options to vary your path on each visit and most of the trails are dog friendly! The plethora of birds created an amazing ambiance that made you want to just sit and relax. I would highly recommend bringing bug spray due to the water providing quite a bit of mosquitoes.

Really great place for a nice long serene walk. Trails are mostly easy. Nice vistas and wild life. Lots of pelicans and other interesting birds. Would definitely recommend it for bird watchers. There are benches throughout the trails and you get really nice and peaceful views while sitting. Parking can be a little tricky however not very crowded during late afternoon. All in all a great park for long Sunday afternoon walks!

While much of this expansive campus is reserved for employees, visitors can still enjoy public areas, including the iconic Android lawn statues that represent various versions of Google's mobile operating systems. These colorful sculptures make for great photo opportunities! The Googleplex also features a store where tech enthusiasts can explore the latest gadgets.

So disapointed! Everywhere in the internet is marked that there is a Google Store (similar to Apple) but no, here is absolutely nothing for public - even the water in the public toilet did not work. Horrible treatment. Person at googleplex out of the blue told me: HEY MA’AM - YOU CANNOT GO INTO ANY BUILDING. Then I asked, can I use the bikes to explore around? He said, NO! So I asked, so just walk? He said, NO! JUST WALK OUTSIDE. HAVE A NICE DAY. Umm what?.. I felt attacked. He was so rude. No idea why. There was a shop but security told me that it was not open to the public. Waste of time. Not much to see. Just a couple of statues and some geese eating grass.

Fun corporate HQ to visit. Set across lots of buildings and well prepared for tourists. Would be nice to have a shop open all week. A 'visitor' shop had loads of signs making it clear a member of staff was required to enter. The Android sculpture garden is pointless so don't bother. The Arizona Cactus Garden at Stanford is such a hidden gem for family photos & engagements! Tucked away on campus, it feels extremely peaceful, and is always full of unique desert plants, winding paths; golden hour is phenomenal! As a photographer, I love how the natural textures and warm tones create a soft, earthy backdrop that flatters every skin tone. It’s especially great for engagements for those that are looking for a more desert-esque background in the Bay Area, since those can be hard to find here! The Garden is also extremely accessible for anyone with mobility issues; directly from the parking lot, there is a paved pathway leading straight to the garden (you can't miss it). The Magic Forest is a tranquil grove of redwood trees situated within the 19-acre Rinconada Park. This small section of trees offers a peaceful and shaded area for visitors to relax, meditate, or take stunning photographs. With approximately 50 tall and ancient-looking trees, the grove provides a delightful sight that is worth exploring while enjoying the park.
After work - come with a book, and a heart open for a magical in-city tranquility experience under a dome created by the tall redwoods, sit on the long wooden bench and start recharging - even with cars running by, kids laughing in the swimming pools next to it - it only amplifies the tranquility and the calm within, when you are in this magical forest. Wholeheartedly grateful for the builders of it, and all that have been quietly holding this space. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

This is a small section of trees located in Rinconada park. They are very tall and provide a lovely shaded area. Its not separated in any way from the park nor is their any signage signaling that it is called the magic forest, so Im not sure what the story behind the trees are. As other reviewers have noted, the super tall trees look quite old and probably predated the park. They’re a lovely sight, definitely worth checking out in the park.

Not bad! We came here to see the tree of 40 fruit. It was supposed to have fruits of all sorts, at least growing/ripening. No. I guess all of them got picked prematurely because I didn't see a single fruit on that tree, which was very disappointing. The statues were nice even though I'm not a naked statue kind of person.
Youtube Y — Google review
Tucked within the storied campus of Stanford University, the Rodin Sculpture Garden is more than an art exhibit; it is a profound sensory experience. The moment you step in, the bustling academic energy gently recedes, replaced by a palpable sense of peace. The sprawling green lawns, framed by majestic oak trees and the university's iconic sandstone architecture, create a landscape that is both meticulously curated and naturally serene. The genius of this space lies in the harmonious dialogue between art and environment. Auguste Rodin’s powerful bronze sculptures, like "The Gates of Hell" and "The Burghers of Calais," are not merely displayed but seem to breathe and belong within this open air. Sunlight dapples on the textured surfaces, and the shadows they cast change with the time of day, making the art feel alive. The atmosphere is one of quiet contemplation, encouraging visitors to wander, reflect, and simply be. It perfectly encapsulates the Stanford spirit: a blend of rigorous intellect and inspiring beauty. This garden is an essential destination for any visitor seeking to understand the university's soul. It offers a tranquil, scholarly retreat that truly deserves its reputation as a cornerstone of the Stanford experience.

Incredible experience! Visited on a bright, sunny day and enjoyed the sculptures in their full glory — especially The Gates of Hell!

We had a great time visiting the Cantor Art Center and the sculpture garden. If you go on the weekend, the parking is free, and admittance into the museum is also free but you do need to go online and reserve your spot. I suggest going early. We arrived around 11 a.m., and we were able to park easily. And apparently if you don't take your picture in front of the Yo sign, then you weren't really there 🤣🤣🤣 while waiting on the hubby to go to the bathroom it took me a good 20 minutes to get a clear shot of the front of the building without anyone posing in front of it 🙃

I hadn’t been to see the gates of hell since it was at the Philadelphia Rodan Museum, over 35 years ago so I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was here in the permanent collection. Also outside where Adam and Eve and the Burghers of Calais was indoors, beautiful sculptures that they are. Located on the beautiful grounds of Stanford University. It is well worth visiting.

Gorgeous sculptures in a beautiful setting. There’s ample areas to stand and admire the sculptures or to sit with friends. It’s a very walkable area, and not too crowded on a sunny fall afternoon. A great place for meetings or just to appreciate the art during a nice city walk.

The Rengstorff House, the oldest home in Mountain View, is a stunning example of Victorian Italianate architecture. Built in 1897 by Henry Rengstorff, a prominent local businessman, this historic house has been meticulously restored to its former grandeur. Visitors can explore its elegant interiors adorned with classic period decor and admire its significant architectural elements such as the hip roof, central gable with a widow's walk, and an inviting front portico.
We visited this beautiful historic house on Saturday morning. A knowledgeable docent showed us around and shared the fascinating history of the property. This place is rich in Bay Area history—highly recommended if you’re in the area!

Beautiful spot to visit, however the tour is not open because short of volunteer , I will come back next time.

I’ve been to this park many times but never really noticed this house. Today I finally stopped to read the story behind it, about a German immigrant who built his life here through hard work and vision. It’s such an inspiring reminder of how much courage it took to start a new life back then.
Lily L — Google review
Volunteers were very nice and will tell ypu the history of the house and answer any questions. It's a small museum and mostly consists of the first floor. There are few remaining furniture that are original to the house.

Sept 2025. Rengstorff House is an antique, 19th Century home restored to its former glory by history enthusiasts with the help of professionals and a $1.2 MM grant from the city of Mt View. Advertised as the oldest surviving home in Mt View. It was the home of entreprenuer, farmer, business man, and prominent citizen of Mt View - Henry Rengstorff. The Wikipedia entry on the home is quite good - despite being Wikipedia. Look it up before you go. We live in a 19th Century home, and we've been restoring it for years. Hence, we were very interested in this home despite being tourists. If an antique home interests you, it is well worth your time. Admission is free, and there's a good chance you will have your own tour by the docent on duty. Our tour guide was Luke, and he was extremely knowledgeable about the renovation and the family history. In turn, we explained a few difficulties of removing antique utilities and meeting modern codes. Highly recommended, and I commend the historical folks, the staff and the city of Mt View for their beautiful renovations.

I recently had the pleasure of filming a wedding at this remarkable venue, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. The venue itself was absolutely stunning, with its picturesque outdoor ceremony space and elegantly decorated reception area. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that everything ran smoothly, from coordinating with the couple to assisting me with any technical needs I had. The lighting throughout the venue was perfect for capturing those magical moments, and the attention to detail in every aspect of the event was truly commendable. I highly recommend this venue to any wedding videographer looking for a breathtaking location and a supportive team to work with.

As both a guest and having been a volunteer here, I've found the house museum to be a good place to learn some of the interesting early history of Mountain View and the Bay Area. There are complimentary tours of the house museum on Tues, Wed, and Sun. Sunday tours are led by a docent in period costume which folks enjoy. The grand tour finale in the music parlor wowed me with the opportunity to hear music players do their thing the way they would've for audiences over a century ago. The museum and grounds are also rented at a reasonable price for events and special occasions, like tea parties and weddings during non-touring hours. The grounds at Shoreline Park where the house stands are also a pleasant backdrop for all sorts of visitors including nature seekers.
Yaritza R — Google review
We toured Rengstorf House as a possible venue for a wedding. Impressive. Update: The wedding is next month so we looked over the venue in general again and specifically the arbor which we have to cover with flowers. A nice place but many hoops (like vendor insurance) to jump through with your vendors. Enough restrictions too, especially with lighting limitations.

Nestled within the picturesque Shoreline Regional Park, the Shoreline Lake Boathouse is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. This scenic locale offers an array of activities such as biking, hiking, jogging, and bird-watching amidst stunning natural beauty. Established in 1983 by Mountain View City, it features a serene 50-acre saltwater lake that invites visitors to engage in watersports like kayaking and sailing.
I recently completed my sailing test and I owe a massive debt of gratitude to my instructor, Chris. Not only did he guide me through all the necessary skills and knowledge to meet the sailing requirements, but more importantly, he helped me cultivate a genuine sense of confidence on the water. I was particularly apprehensive about hiking among other things. However, Chris's endless patience and remarkable ability to teach with such clarity completely transformed my perspective. I no longer fear the heeling and in fact, I'm starting to enjoy it and have taken my wife out on the boat. Chris is more than just a technically proficient instructor. His passion for sailing shown in his racing career is contagious, and his genuine care for his students' progress is evident in every lesson. Beyond Chris, I also want to give a shoutout to the wonderful staff at the boathouse. They are always ready to lend a hand, offer helpful advice, and create a welcoming atmosphere. Special thanks to Brent and Raphael for their friendly support and willingness to assist whenever needed.

Amazing spot for outdoor activities! The lake has beautiful trails for biking, walking, or running, and you can also rent kayaks or just relax by the water. There’s a nice lake house with coffee and snacks too. Important tip: The entrance gate closes exactly at sunset, and the boathouse is about 1.2 miles from the entrance. If you're not driving, plan ahead so you don’t get locked in! Great place for a peaceful day out—highly recommend!

Lucy Evans Baylands Nature Interpretive Center is a serene spot for a leisurely walk, offering flat trails that are less crowded than other nearby areas. The center features informative displays about the marshland and even provides hands-on microscopes for observing intricate patterns of objects. Visitors can also enjoy a pleasant walk on the pier to observe wildlife and take in scenic views of nearby cities on clear days.
I have never been inside when it was open. Great displays to learn about the marshland. Hands-on microscope to see intricate patterns of objects. The walk on the pier is nice to see wildlife, on a clear day, you can see the other cities nearby. Benches to sit and appreciate nature.

A good place for a walk by the bay. There is a nice nature center that is interesting for kids and adults. There is also a boardwalk out towards the bay. If you like airplanes, there is also a trail adjacent to the Palo Alto airport where there are often small planes doing touch and go’s.

It is a great place to take a walk in the morning and evening and enjoy nature.
Irene K — Google review
When I think of a nature preserve, I imagine a serene haven, a sacred escape from the maddening chaos of daily life, a place where one can actually embrace the beauty of nature. But what I stumbled upon at this so-called nature preserve was nothing more than an absolute mockery, a grave insult to the very essence of natural beauty! First and foremost, let’s delve into the aesthetics—oh wait, let’s be real, the glaring absence of any aesthetic appeal! The very instant I stepped foot into this so-called haven, I was confronted with a sight so utterly pitiful, so uninspired, that it teetered on the edge of laughable! POWER LINES, people! Yes, you read that right! Power lines slicing through this so-called nature preserve like grotesque industrial scars marring a landscape that should be nothing short of pristine! HOW can anyone even fantasize about feeling a connection with nature when bombarded by glaring reminders of human invasion and technological devastation? It's like trying to savor the finest gourmet meal while someone relentless honks a car horn in your ear—absolutely infuriating! And as if the power lines weren't enough to ruin any semblance of peace, oh no! There's an actual AIRPORT right next door! Can you even begin to fathom this? Imagine trying to immerse yourself in nature's tranquility, only to be assaulted repeatedly by the obnoxious, deafening ROAR of planes taking off and landing. The sheer gall of placing a nature preserve right next to an airport is utterly unfathomable—a cruel, relentless joke, a brutal slap in the face to anyone seeking solace and quiet! And let’s not ignore the nearby interstate, with its barrage of traffic noise. The supposed symphony of nature? More like a cacophony of engine roars and incessant honking! But wait, there’s MORE! The smells! Oh, do we even need to discuss the smells? A nature preserve should be a sanctuary where you breathe in pure, clean air and the lovely scent of pine and wildflowers wafts through the breeze. But NO! Not here! Here, the air is a thick cloud of offensive odors. In some areas, it smells like a poorly managed landfill! In others, the noxious waft of industrial pollution clings like a suffocating blanket. It’s as if someone took the very essence of urban decay, bottled it up, and generously sprayed it throughout the preserve! It’s an appalling olfactory assault, and it’s simply inescapable! Now, let’s dissect the so-called highlights of this place. Supposedly, bird lovers will find it a paradise—only because the rest of us are left scratching our heads at this total flop! Sure, some bird species might dart in and out, but who can appreciate their beauty when you’re constantly distracted by the omnipresent power lines, the relentless airplanes, and the never-ending interstate traffic? Let’s be brutally honest: even the birds seem fed up! I spotted more than one pigeon casting me a look that screamed, “Can you even believe this ridiculous place?”But the most outrageous aspect of this so-called nature preserve is its absolute lack of hiking trails! Any place that dares to call itself a nature preserve should offer at least a handful of decent paths for desperate visitors to explore! But no! Not here! We couldn't find a single worthwhile hike! The existing trails? Oh please, they’re just shoddy, underwhelming paths that lead nowhere of interest. It’s as if the people responsible for this disaster deliberately set out to provide the most mind-numbingly mediocre experience possible! And don’t even get me started on the view of the bay! Ah yes, the bay, that shimmering body of water that should elevate any visit! But lo and behold, even the bay is a jarring letdown! The view is bland, at best, nowhere near the breathtaking vistas one might hope for! Instead of a panoramic spectacle to uplift the soul, you’re sadly presented with a dull, uninspiring scene that does nothing to elevate your spirits! It’s almost as if the bay itself has given up, resigned to its fate as yet another disappointment in a long string of them.
Vlogsoryx — Google review
A relatively peaceful place to have your evening (or morning) walk. One can start at the corner parking lot and walk all the way to the Byxbee Park and round to complete an hour walk. Or you can go the other way keeping the airport on your left, following the bay on you right for another hour long walk. Trails are flat and much less crowded than few other close by places. At times, the sunsets are really gorgeous, but always carry a jacket as it can get windy and chilly any time of the year.
Sankha H — Google review
A great spot to look across the bay at the hills surrounding the Bay Area. The boardwalk further out towards the bay is closed but you can walk the first 100 feet or so. Great spot to watch the sunset and enjoy the amazing views and wildlife.

Large area with views of Santa Clara Valley & trails, including one for biking & horseback riding.
Nice trails with plenty of sunshine and also a lot of wooded areas. I loved the moss covered trees. Free to visit, bathroom at the parking lot, no running water, but hand sanitizer is available.

It usually is quite popular on weekends, especially during peak hiking season. The parking lot fill up quickly, so it's best to arrive early or consider visiting during the week if possible. Black Mountain Trail is a challenging but rewarding hike that offers some of the best views in the area. The trail is well-maintained but can be rocky and steep in places, so it's important to wear appropriate footwear and bring plenty of water.

Oak woodlands make for beautiful views. You're going a half mile downhill to go a mile and a half uphill. So be prepared for the intervals. Great for biking, hiking and horse back riding. No dogs because of the coyotes like you see in the photo. #HappyHiking

Monte Bello Preserve is a great place for a day hike. I visited here in March/7/2021. No entrance fee,the parking lot has good size but can fill up quickly, They also have a bathroom at the trailhead. My hike was a 6 miles loop and 1,000 ft of elevation gain. The trails are well maintained, it’s easy to follow. This loop starts at the Monte Bello Open Space parking lot, hiking up to Black Mountain and back. On my way up, I got beautiful rolling mountain hills, grasslands. A lot of lovely views at Black Mountain, the landscape is very beautiful. As I went down, I got into the forest. There were many trees covered with lots of moss on their stems, which makes it very peaceful. This loop is good for 3 seasons per year, not summertime. I will be coming back.

It’s quiet, serene, quaint and beautiful. You can hike for miles and not see anyone (week days ya at least). Trail are beautiful - both open and shaded. Lots of wild life to see. You occasionally share path with cyclist, so be aware. You can see both very pretty hills and forest on one side and also entire Bay Area with its buildings and campuses in the other. Quite a unique spectrum of scenery. Parking is ample and free. There is restroom. Difficulty is easy to moderate. Not stroller friendly.
Khamid B — Google review
Beautiful and challenging but not too steep (not the routes we took, at least). We saw some mule deer (I think), scrub jays, and woodpeckers. I love the mix of pine, California buckeye, and oaks (among many other trees I don’t know). The Indian paintbrush, buckbrush, California poppies, and bluedicks were blooming. Worth the windy trip up to the parking lot! Though you might bring motion sickness pills or ginger if you’re coming from the north/northeast and get carsick at all easily.

Beautiful rolling mountain hills, grasslands, old oak trees, deer, snakes, mosquitoes, insects, etc. Really nice vistas of the valley and surrounding areas. Great place to have a tough hike and marvel at the world!

Los Trancos Open Space Preserve is a scenic natural area with informative walking paths amidst a charming forested terrain. One of its trails, named Los Trancos Trail loop, spans around 7.5 miles and offers a moderate level of difficulty. It is situated within Foothills park, which requires a $6 parking fee. At the trailhead, there is a sizable parking lot and restroom facilities available. The trail maintains social distancing by guiding hikers in one direction along the loop.
Shaded for the most part of the hike. Has a Park entrance fee. Plenty of picnic tables , hiking trails of various lengths and difficulty. Ample parking and well maintained. Opened only at 8am. Wish it would have been sooner to avoid the sun / heat
Anand — Google review
Los Trancos Open Space Preserve is one of those places that surprises you with its quiet charm. Tucked away off Page Mill Road in the Santa Cruz Mountains, it offers peaceful trails, sweeping views, and an unexpectedly fascinating look at California’s geology. The preserve isn’t crowded, which makes it ideal for a serene solo hike or a contemplative walk through oak woodlands and shady glens. The star attraction here is the San Andreas Fault Trail, a short, well-marked 1.5-mile loop that’s equal parts hike and geology lesson. Signs along the way explain how the infamous fault line has shaped (and literally shifted) the landscape over time. There are examples of offset fences and terrain displacement from past earthquakes, and it’s all laid out in a way that’s accessible without being overly technical. Kids and adults alike will find it fascinating. Beyond the fault trail, you can connect to a network of longer hikes that pass through varied terrain: open grassy ridges, dense forest, and trickling seasonal creeks. The Lost Creek Loop and Franciscan Loop are great for those wanting to extend their time in nature, and the preserve connects to Monte Bello and Foothills Park if you’re looking to push into longer day hikes. Trails are well-maintained, signage is clear, and the elevation gain is manageable for most. There’s no water on-site and very limited parking (maybe 20+ spots), so it’s best to arrive early on weekends. No dogs or bikes are allowed, which helps maintain the peaceful vibe and keeps the focus on hiking and wildlife. You might spot deer, wild turkeys, and lots of birds if you’re quiet.
Chinmay S — Google review
The trails at Los Trancos Open Preserve are well-maintained and clearly marked, making it easy to navigate even for novice hikers. The terrain is varied, with sections of flat, easy walking and more challenging uphill climbs. The views from the Vista Loop Trail are truly breathtaking, and it's definitely worth the effort to reach the top. Parking can be a bit limited. There are only a few small parking lots, so it's best to arrive early to ensure you can find a spot.
Krussh — Google review
Los Trancos Trail loop is around a 7.5 mile moderate level hike. It is part of Foothills park which has a $6 parking fee. There is a big parking lot and the restrooms available at the trailhead.Trail is moderately trafficked, one way loop to maintain the social distance. Keep map handy to avoid getting off the trail mainly at the beginning of the trail. There is a bench at the top open area where you can enjoy the beautiful view and rest for some time. Most of the trail is narrow and shaded, many bridges. There are few sections where you need to be more careful as it’s difficult to cross. We took 3hrs to complete the hike. As it is Springtime, enjoy the flower bloom.
Arti J — Google review
On a clear day, you can see forever...Beautiful area to ride through (and I imagine, hike as well). A pack of healthy-looking coyotes seemed interested in hoping we got flat tires, and saw a decent sized Buck wandering. Gorgeous views.
Michael P — Google review
Nice little preserve with a couple of small loops. All loops are easy difficulty and mostly shaded by trees. The largest loop will take you about an hour. Connects to other preserves like Monte Bello, so you can do some longer hikes as well. Lots of parking available.
Jeroen J — Google review
Towering trees provide cover on the trails and a gentle breeze makes walking pleasant. The San Andreas fault lies below the preserve, with a fence and rocks torn apart during the 1906 quake standing testimony to the power of nature.
Simon M — Google review
Beautiful space to walk. Never crowded. About 400 foot elevation change is max throughout the park. You can do about 5 miles in this park and basically cover it all. Parking is free, nearby, and ample.
